i just need davey as a prince who is desperate to prove himself to his family and frustrated at not being taken seriously and then jack as his bodyguard who is constantly on the verge of a heart attack because this prince will NOT. STOP. USING SECRET PASSAGES TO FUCK WITH HIM.

I headcanon each of the 03 turtles deals with chronic pain, but in different ways: Leo has nerve pain and a chronically stiff shoulder from getting stabbed. Mikey has pain from his legs not healing quite right after they were busted up. Raph gets chronic migraines after being knocked unconscious one too many times. Donnie has flare ups of systemic inflammation after his second mutation.
When you have chronic pain, you can “get used to it,” to an extent, which makes it easier to ignore (I can attest to this, personally). So, they all kind of get used to their respective pains.
With this in mind, imagine a body-swap fic where each of them is like bitch you live like this?? because they aren’t used to this specific type of pain.

Putting nostalgia aside, what in your opinion makes dramione greater than other Draco pairings? I love both equally personally, but I’d love to know as time has gone on, I now myself have a preference which i now gravitate towards on the basis of their“technicalities”.
So putting aside the nostalgia, what tropes, characteristics of each, do you find more fascinating or more unique in either pairing?
(Usual disclaimer that I'm a "ship and let ship" person and all fanfic portrayals of these fictional characters are valid, this is just a silly, long-winded opinion 😘)
Hmm, I don't think I would say it's "greater" (everything is subjective) than any other pairing, but if you're asking why dramione has remained my favorite, it's simply because I find them the most compelling. We get a lot of hermione in the books, sure, but as we're in harry's head for almost all of canon, i found myself interested in exploring her character and all its glory and flaws without the veil of harry's pov. I adore her intelligence, of course, and her capacity for kindness, but she can also be ruthless (keeping Skeeter in a jar, Marietta Edgecombe), unflinchingly pragmatic (her disdain for divination, wiping her parents' memories), and morally grey when it suits her interests (every book, y'all, every book she is breaking/bending rules with harry/ron).
I'm not going to even attempt to dig through my past asks because tumblr searches are terrible, but I've written before about Draco's unfinished and unsatisfying canon narrative. He is set up several times over to have a somewhat forgiving arc but ultimately it falls flat and it's a stupendous waste of potential for an on-page redemption. It makes him a fantastic character for fanfiction at least.
And so I prefer dramione for what it makes these two confront about themselves and each other. They have shared trauma, or at least overlapping trauma touchpoints, that can lend themselves to some gutwrenching conversations. A relationship, a friendship, fuck even earning the right to breathe in Hermione's vicinity is going to require a lot of soul-searching, apologizing, unlearning of hateful rhetoric and probably a fuckton of therapy for draco. I dont view dramione as opposites so much as complements and there's a vast potential for drama and angst and these two seem really intense in their desires to succeed in the world as very loyal, tightly wound, ambitious over-achievers.
I don't know honestly, it just makes me happy to think about them happy together. Put these two in some situations and let them kiss.
I adore drarry too of course, but harry and draco's animosity is often focused on draco confronting personal conflict/differences vs their ideological differences.

Imaginary Aventurine
Let's imagine: (theory, fic idea, headcanon: the triple goddess)
Aventurine is lucky. Aventurine is really lucky. Aventurine is supernaturally lucky. Quite possibly, that Cornerstone is not as powerful as the luck blessing he has. Or perhaps it's a gift from an Aeon? Or maybe just the legacy of a dead one. Now... let's see. Ena the Order's third eye is very similar to his. And boy, have they been Making Sure We Know About Ena via Simulated Universe and likewise, they've been making a surprisingly big deal about a supposedly non-existent mother goddess worshipped by a nearly extinct people. Hey, you know what I heard? Xipe the Harmony ate Ena the Order. And now, quite possibly, her last chosen (??) has waltzed into a place where the Family is hiding something a lot bigger than a few violent crimes, a place on the far shore of a dark sea... I wonder what he'll find? I wonder if his Gaiatha Triclops will be relevant as more than a personal backstory before the end...? Ok, probably not. That's why this imaginary! But man, I want to use this idea in a fic. So much. I was also thinking about his 'luck' and wondering if he's actually lucky in general, or if it's always related to preserving his life. But I remember his phone status, in which he offers to roll on the gacha for others. So... probably lucky in general. Still, it's not that hard to make 'luck' align with 'order'. ("align, heh heh"). His luck is a series of events that all happen to line up, in order, to get him places others might consider impossible... Finally, let me just coo over him a tiny bit: God, Aventurine, baby. You are so sweetly, deeply fucked up. You have so many layers you're a crepe cake. Give away your cash. Give away your luck. But you can't give away that survivor's guilt and the awareness that all your luck does is save you, and you're not at all what your family believed you to be. But you've worked out how to make your luck useful for others. All you have to do is bet your life. It's the only thing you really have, right? Do you deserve any more? And you've done this before, my lad. You don't make deals you can lose because you don't consider sacrificing your life to be losing. You've always got some other victory condition, right? You put on pretty clothes and flash those pretty eyes, but underneath you're a scrawny, strung-out adrenaline junkie who knows exactly how to manipulate himself to do what needs to be done. A bonus: The softest headcanon: When Jade said the Stonehearts would give him everything he wanted, and what he didn't want too, what Jade meant was a new family.

What would happen if Daemon got his daughter pregnant but she isn’t married and he’s stuck married to Rhaenyra?
He'd quickly get her married to some guy they can scare into being quiet.
He'd insist on his daughter being close to her home and family as she gives birth for the first time. He'd look after and care for her.
The minor Lord is so terrified of Daemon he just lets things happen and doesn't even dare try to touch his bride.
He and his daughter would wait so eagerly for their first child! First of many!

The lack of Nico Rosberg’s thoughts in the whole Lewis moving to Ferrari conversation is really not helping with fic writing
Like did they ever talk about driving for Ferrari when they were younger? Maybe in Greece? Or when they were teammates?
What about how Mercedes was the thing that destroyed them and now both of them won’t be a part of that team? The hurt/comfort reconciliation fic that could be written about just that isn’t being written because Nico has not said a single thing.

Hi guys, I need your help and opinion regarding my recent fic featuring Reader x Lin Kuei trio. I'm considering whether to start each chapter from one of the trio's points of view or to stick with the reader's point of view for every chapter. I'm feeling stuck and unable to start writing the next chapter because of this dilemma. 😫 Any opinions on this matter would be greatly appreciated!🙌🏻

Wind: Why do you call Midna Minty? It's no shorter than her name?
Twilight: *smiling* because she's both sweet and strong like mint-
The chain: *aweing*
Twilight: And there is no one who gives me a headache faster.
Dusk: *spits her tea*
Midna: *grinning like a gremlin*

So I've been rewatching both 9-1-1 and Lone Star over the last couple of weeks, and just recently I rewatched their first crossover episode, and oh my GOD did that episode make me want to read/write a fic with Little!Buck and Little!TK having a playdate (both Captain Dads included, of course).
These two would definitely get into some mischievous adventures together, which would probably result in a few new grey hairs for their dads. Despite that tho, I can see them looking like a pair of angels when it's nap time or bedtime and curled up all cozy together on one of their dad's beds or in one of their cribs, pacis in mouth and comfort items in arm. Bobby and Owen would cherish those moments the most.
UGH I WANNA WRITE THEM SO BAD!!! But I got so much other crap to do before I can even think of opening a new doc! 😭😭

A phoenixflare idea I may or may not explore in fic at some point: Joshua falls first.
By, oh, give or take 20 years or so.
It’s hero-worship when they meet as children. Joshua is painfully aware that Clive is the one the Phoenix should have chosen, while he’s a frail pile of embers terrified he can’t live up to expectations. Dion, meanwhile, is the strong, brave, perfect heir, who bears Bahamut’s strength so easily, so chivalrous and noble. Everything Clive should have had, everything Joshua wishes he could be - and yet beneath it all, the compelling hint of a loneliness and uncertainty Joshua knows well.
Then, Phoenix Gate. Joshua loses everything. He spends his adolescence being raised in secret and shuffled around by a cult that worships him as something close to a god. Even his closest companion cannot treat him as an equal. I’m sure he’s lonely, and as he learns more of Ultima, I’m sure he longs for someone else to share the burden.
Imagine Joshua drinking in every story he hears of Dion the Bold. Maybe he daydreams about the handsome prince sweeping in to take him away from this stressful, secretive life. Maybe he imagines them joining forces to save the world. Maybe as he gets older, other thoughts creep in, fuelled by everything he hears about how handsome Prince Dion is as an adult.
(Maybe he hears rumours that the prince does not care for women, and maybe it makes his heart flutter with ridiculous hope.)
(Maybe he also has some fairly intense thoughts about what a man with a body like Dion’s could do to him in, on, or anywhere near a bed, but let’s keep this relatively PG.)
Imagine Joshua nursing this crush for years, for more than a decade. Clinging to it like a long-lost keepsake, finding it changes with him as he grows: from something innocent to something heated to something complicated and deep.
Because when he’s old enough and strong enough to travel on his own, of course his ears still prick up at every mention of Dion’s name. The battles he’s fought for the Empire. The orders he’s been given, sometimes less than honourable. The Empire’s growing greed, first glimpsed in the treachery at Phoenix Gate, now writ large in its annexation of Rosaria - then later in the invasion of the Crystalline Dominion. The people all say Dion is a good man, a thoughtful leader, a true prince. Is he uneasy with the change in his country and his father? Does he see the shadows lengthening too? Or is he complicit, no longer the shining idol of Joshua’s youth?
And Joshua is smart enough to doubt his own motives. He wants to approach Dion as a potential ally, but can he trust his own judgement? Does he really believe, in objective terms, that Dion will help him - or is he still in love with the stories he told himself all those years?
(And can he bear it, if it turns out Dion isn’t who Joshua wants him to be?)
So he hesitates. He waits. He waits until events make it clear that the Emperor intends to pass over Dion in favour of Olivier. Joshua knows then that whatever else, Dion is not a part of his father’s scheming. Approaching him is a risk worth taking now, as long as Joshua can put aside his childish daydreams and unrequited longing, meet the man as he truly is, see past the fantasy.
No wonder he’s tight as a wire when he steps into that tent. No wonder he keeps his hands gripped out of sight behind his back. No wonder he moves like every step, every breath, every word, is one he considered beforehand. No wonder he buys himself a few seconds picking up the fallen flower, restoring it, keeping his eyes off Dion as he fights his pounding heart.
Tumblr media
And no wonder Joshua blames himself, after the fall of Drake’s Tail, that he didn’t go to Dion sooner.
