Summary: Since you wanted to join a club to pass the time, now you pretty much were recruited into the boy's volleyball club as a manager. How did this happen again‐?

summary: a comprehensive list of the CollegeAU!Kuroo headcanons that have been plaguing me for years.

warnings: allusions to alcohol, some sexual content, swearing, kuroo’s abs.

general

he’s double-majoring in business and chemistry—does hella good in both.

academic weapon

fairly active in the party scene, but won’t admit he secretly hates it sometimes. prefers the quieter, more refined bustle of the science library or the local cafés.

didn’t want to commit to the professional level, but still plays club volleyball. never quite finds another team that fits him like Nekoma did.

on the outside

those dark locks are unruly as ever.

he’s always been huge but reaaaaally buffed up after high school: broad shoulders and massive, sculpted lats. chiseled abs and the V-line of a fucking god.

he’s worked hard for that body (more on that under Habits), so he shows it off with what he chooses to wear

fitted tees

those sleek athletic compression shirts

prioritizes comfort—his wardrobe is definitely hoodies- and sweatpants-heavy. see images above for a visual

owns like, nine pairs of gray sweats. the cheeky bastard.

habits

hits the gym like it’s a religion. his routine is immaculate: strength training couple times a week, a run/jog outside nearly every day. he kickboxes sometimes. plays volleyball of course.

doesn’t take enough rest days

and forgets to stretch afterward. his shoulders are always tight because of it.

has a fairly decent sleep schedule

but. he’s a caffeine addict. pulls all-nighters at least once a month, flipping through his textbooks while sipping hot, black coffee.

takes his tea without sugar

and his whiskey neat

doesn’t drink much, though. especially at parties, he likes being able to talk intelligently—to nail first impressions with biting wit and laid-back charm. there’s a certain level of self-possession he cultivates in order to achieve that, though, and alcohol tends to mess with it.

always drives his friends home when they’ve had too much.

academics

he’s good.

really good.

aced Organic Chemistry his freshman year while everyone else was shitting their pants

chats with his Business professors during their office hours for fun

his notes are disgusting. loose leaf sheets stuffed into his books, chicken-scratch handwriting littering their margins.

can’t draw good Lewis Diagrams for shit. his Chemistry TAs give him hell for it.

still, he somehow manages to earn the highest test scores in the class.

competitive. silently simmers when he catches someone earn even a slightly higher grade. he always needs to be the best; he’s greedy for success and recognition.

total workaholic. grinds himself to the bone.

but also, he really, really loves what he does. the little things thrill him: an Acid-Base titration gone perfectly right, or a really good conversation about Keynesian economic theory.

he’s such a dork. he’ll never admit to it though

after hours

he’s not a fuckboy. he’s not.

he just…has a certain effect on women. and boy, does he know it.

as mentioned above, he parties fairly frequently—he’s a hot, outgoing twenty-something, so naturally he’s getting invited to a lot. but again, he doesn’t always enjoy the crowds and the noise, and he really doesn’t like getting wasted.

but if there’s one thing kuroo loves?

it’s attention.

though he lingers at the quieter edges of crowds, pretty girls still seek him out, striking up flirty conversation over the din of party music.

he’ll admit the talk itself is never actually interesting. none of those women are quite smart enough to keep up with him

but all the same, he goes home with them—because they all want him so much. and god, does that stroke some animalistic part of his ego.

the truth is, kuroo kinda needs to feel wanted. he’s a man that spends all his time competing—beating himself into shape to achieve his various goals. so, when people make him feel like he’s good enough as is, it’s worth a lot.

his hidden insecurities are part of the reason he won’t approach any truly intelligent women, the ones he notices in his lecture halls and classes. deep down, he’s a little scared of women that can dominate him academically.

but, secretly? he’s also really fucking attracted to that.

desperately wants to meet someone he can actually talk to, a person that’ll share in his ambition and can keep up with his wit.

but for now, settles just for fucking to relieve stress. wakes up more often than not to an empty bed, with no reminder left behind of the girl that was in it the night before.

YANDERE KENMA HEADCANONS!!!

tws: isolation, murder, aphrodisiac, drugging, non-con, kidnapping, violence, bullying, breaking and entering, non-consensual picture taking, panty stealing/sniffing, camera placing, forced pregnancy

Kenma would for sure know that what he's feeling is wrong. He's too smart not to know.

Kenma would try to ignore those urges and be a normal person. He would try to court you normally. But, when that one classmate of yours got too close to you, nothing mattered anymore. Well... nothing but you.

Kenma would spread rumors about you to make you lean on him more. He's the isolating type, so it'll be awful rumors. You'll likely end up being bullied they'll go missing too

He would also sneak into your room at night and place cameras in every corner so he could get the best pictures and videos of you; keeps it on a flashdrive.

Kenma would steal some of your things over time. Specifically panties, lingerie, chapstick, and the like. He'd also take a few shirts/hoodies of yours to wear at night.

Kenma would try his hardest to keep from killing people, but some of the people around you are parasites. He stalks them for a few days and waits till they're alone to pick them off. He doesn't like to be messy about it. He'll purchase poisons and inject them into the bloodstream, or he'll simply bury them alive after knocking them out.

Since Kenma is incredibly smart, no one would find the body. No one would know what happened. And even if they did figure out that it was murder, no one would suspect that it was him. No one would think that the scrawny boy who hates exercise and social interaction would kill someone in cold blood.

Kenma would end up kidnapping you. It could be that you caught him, he feels threatened by the other students, you were distancing yourself from him- it doesn't matter. You'll end up in his basement or in a cabin that he purchased on the dark web.

If you have a uterus, he'll want to have your own kids. If he has to force it, he will.

He knows all about Stockholm, he'll force that too.

Kenma is male, so he has desires. He can only help himself for so long- especially if you're right there. If you keep refusing him, he'll just acquire an aphrodisiac or a roofie.

He honestly super scary. You'll never know when he's mad. He always speaks to you in that gravelly, monotone voice. His facial expressions never change. He's not easy to anger, but god help you if you manage it.

Kenma isn't one to starve you or beat you. He'll just lock you up for a few days and leave you minimal food and water. He'll deny you showers and hygeine though. You'll learn.

He forces cuddles and physical affection. He has to be touching his future wife/husband/spouse.

You'll never manage to leave him. He's Nekoma's brains for a reason. He will have everything thought out beore you can even plan to leave.

When you finally accept him, and Stockholm comes in clutch, he'll be over the moon. Hugs, kisses, a nice dinner, gifts. Anything you want.

He'll be the breadwinner of the house. Kodzuken makes bank tbh.

Overall, not the worst, but defintely still pretty bad.

"what.." you muttered in disbelief at the casting for your school's play, "the beauty and the beast."

you got the female lead, belle.

"how is this even possible?!" you mentally screeched. at most, you expected to be a simple background character! like, y'know, one of the girls that fawn over gaston? even tree number four would've been alright!

"ah.. i really can't anymore." you grumble, massaging your temples with close eyes. "what are you talking about, y/n?" yaku morisuke, your kind and caring upperclassmen, asked.

"o- oh, yaku!" you stutter, not expecting to be checked up on. "i got the female lead when i was aiming for an insignificant character." you explained, followed by an irritated sigh. "..how am i supposed to balance my studies now?"

yaku gives you a reassuring pat on the head, despite you being around the same height or so. "i'm sure everything will work out alright! if ever you're having trouble, just come to me, and i'll help."

your eyes sparkled tearily, hands clasped in complete and utter gratitude at the boy's offer. "thank you, yaku!"

yaku's heart skipped a beat at your adorable expression. he flashed you a charming smile. "don't mention it!"

time skip.

this is the first rehearsal nekoma will have in costumes. it's just so that the costume crew can know whether or not there's an issue while wearing said costumes on stage.

you were all pampered up in belle's famous yellow dress. your hair was styled (still, by special request, kept short), there was a light touch of makeup on your face, and the dress itself was unexpectedly comfortable to wear. now you don't want to say this out loud, but you actually looked.. quite ethereal right now.

"the costume and makeup crew really outdid themselves.." you twirled in front of the mirror.

once you exited the dressing room, all of your schoolmates' eyes were on you.

"uwaaah! y/n looks so pretty!"

"that's y/n?!"

"y/n, please be our manager—!"

yamamoto was harshly pulled away by the ear (thanks to kuroo) before he could completely recruit you.

you were feeling uneasy from the amount of attention on you, so you shuffled over to yaku, who looked at you in complete adoration. "yaku, help, they're all staring at me." you mumbled just loud enough for the libero to hear.

yaku sighed before stating a firm, "you're all scaring her, y'know!" everyone then went off to mind their own business.

"thank you." you said. yaku shook his head. "like i said, just come to me for help."

"oh! by the way," you brought two scripts into view, "i've been busy clearing out all of my homework, so i only got to memorize a few lines. do you mind helping?"

"no, not at all." yaku smiled at you, accepting your request.

oh, poor yaku. if only he knew how red his face would get at your words, would he have turned you down sooner.

time skip.

"it's true that he's no prince charming, but there's something in him that i simply didn't see.." you read from the sheet of paper, all the while acting out a face of endearment. yaku had to pause for a moment, just to admire you.

"..yaku?" you called out, bringing the boy out of his thoughts. "right—! sorry." he bashfully apologized.

"y'know yaku, your face is really red right now." you giggled. "wait, really?" he asked, confused. sure, he was feeling warm, but he thought it was just the temperature!

you nod at his confusion, caressing one of his rosy cheeks. "aw, you're blushing like a rose."

a/n: i was bored and decided to write this :D i saw hc bokuto is a thigh person and as he should, love thicc thighs too 😫 likes and reblogs are super appreciated!!

Akaashi noticed that Bokuto Koutaro was… unreasonably quiet.

Now, he doesn’t have anything against that, it was just a new feeling for the second year to see the third year highschool volleyball captain so serious, with his arm resting on the table, cheek pressed against in his palm and his gaze on…

Bokuto was unaware how quiet he is before the practice match against Nekoma, in fact, it’s weirding everyone out!

he would always give his teammates hype early in the morning where everyone is still dead inside but ever since his golden eyes laid on (Name), he needed to take a breath or something because seeing her feels like she took his heart everytime she comes in the picture. (That’s how he describes it to Kaori who just gave the tall man a cheeky smile, knowing where was he getting.)

Apparently, (Name) was late, but for a good reason! She needed to take up a follow up exam and rushed all the way to Fukurodani with her school uniform that some few would look at her, wondering why another student from another school is visiting the volleyball practice match but surprise, she’s a third year volleyball manager for Nekoma.

“She’s so cute.” he muttered under his breath, watching (Name) talks to Yukie from afar, a smile gracing her lips making her more prettier in Bokuto’s eyes. Soon he let his eyes wander, admiring her beauty and how her school uniform looks so good on her— then he focused on her thighs.

Oh my… (name) is really pretty but her thighs? How can he not look, it’s curvy, smooth and he respectfully likes them that he can’t tear his gaze away from them. He finally get his fangirls feeling with thighs now and eternal grateful for them pointing it out that thick thighs are absolutely the best.

Unfortunately for Bokuto, (Name) can sense his hard gaze on her since she entered the room and now she’s down nervous because it feels like she’s the reason why the practice match delayed. (No, she’s not the reason, apparently one of the coaches slept in.)

Offering an apologetic smile, she waved at him that Bokuto bolted up in surprise, heat rushing to his cheeks and looked away when he heard his teammate snickered.

“Stop oogling at my manager.” Kuroo appeared from behind, the rest of Nekoma VB players glared at his head, following up with “Our. Manager.” Where he just rolled his eyes before smirking at the red faced Fukurodani VB captain who just waved his hands defensively. “I-I wasn’t!” He stutters but no one was buying that because they all caught him admiring his crush from far away.

“And even if I did, can you really blame me? She’s cute!” Bokuto raised a finger at Kuroo who’s grin got wider, usually that’s not a good sign because—

“You think I’m cute, Bokuto-san?“ (Name) appeared right beside him, making him jump back in surprise where Akaashi has to grab him so he wouldn’t fall and embarrass himself. A spluttering mess he is right now, he couldn’t help the blush spreading his cheeks when his crush was smiling at him with sparkle on her eyes. Bokuto isn’t used to this! He likes attention sure! But now where every eyes are on him because the revelation of his crush was now too much!

“I— I— what, huh—“ knowing she wouldn’t get an answer, she lets out a soft laugh and played the hem of her skirt. “Well I think you’re cute too.”

Pretty sure he just fainted where both teams hypes them up.

fumi headcanons below and also i'm dumping my wakunan thoughts too

my wakunan lore crumbs :yippeeee:

since they are canonically considered one of the top 4 schools in the region until karasuno beat them, they're definitely a powerhouse school. so generally they know seijoh & stz & niiyama (tech) & johzenji & dateko & vice versa way better than how karasuno knows them (by the start of the anime), wakunan probably holds practice matches regularly w them all

on that note i don't think they've beaten shiratorizawa at all; they've won a couple matches against seijoh, but cannot win against them consistently; they struggled with johzenji but after okudake left and terushima became captain they have become much better; against dateko most matches have to end in a draw because dateko's defense and wakunan's receives are that good. uhh. that's all ive got.

considering they're sorta the nekoma of miyagi i think they'd like. Know? Nekoma? have practice matches against each other? i'd reckon that if they didn't have matches beforehand, they do now bc of takeru and kuroo; at the very least, they both seem like the type to Want to face the other team at least once. (pulls out my corkboard) this is how wakunan knows the tokyo teams--

i do not think wakunan is A Rich School like shiratorizawa is, either; it's still in a quiet part of miyagi (haven't decided on a town yet), and fumi herself lives in a small town.

fumi's a rlly good manager bc she has rlly good memory & she's great at keeping up with everything on the court, taking notes on both sides/what plays they do/etc, to the point that in practice matches opposing teams will even ask her about their stats throughout the match. he's very good at what he does!! wakunan's best manager in probably 209382 years

fumi goes to the university of tokyo as a literature/journalism dual major, with a minor in a stem field. most likely something science based! he decided early on that he’d continue expanding her managerial skills, which is why he chose a humanities major instead of stem

has been using perfume ever since she started high school. she’s not risking it around sweaty high school boys who sweat through their deodorant faster than they can run. usually she smells like vanilla; she prefers the sweeter scents!

originally fumi wanted to take ballet lessons, but due to his chronic ankle instability, his father advised his to not to, just in case... and he didn't, cuz he didn't wanna worry him.

if she didn't get hamsters, fumi's dad was seriously considering getting her a munchkin cat!! just a pet in general; he works a lot and she's home alone, so he wants her to have Some form of company that isn't shunki.

sits down. so fumi's mom and dad are divorced; her mom has? dipped from her life; there is zero contact between the two of them. though they are still in contact with her mom's side of the family, fumi's dad is mainly worried about securing funds for fumi's college career and keeps contact for that reason.

HQ Teams Lose Their Manager

Feat. Aoba Johsai, and Nekoma (Was gonna do all the teams but this ended up being a little tougher than I was expecting. Maybe if there’s interest I’ll do more parts with more teams! :))

I decided to mix up the outings so it didn’t get boring! Hope that’s okay!

AOBA JOHSAI

Where you went: Haunted Attraction - it was more like a haunted mansion than a house. It was your suggestion - and the boys never say no to you, no matter how badly they want to sometimes.

What happened: The team went in groups of two - You and Kunimi took the lead, followed closely by Hanamaki and Matsukawa, then Yahaba and Kyōtani, then Iwa and Oikawa (who insisted he be behind Iwa and Kyōtani for protection, even though Kyo was all but quaking in his shoes), and taking up the rear was Kindaichi and Watari. At some point, Makki noticed you and Kunimi had just kind of...disappeared? He tried to be discreet about it, he really did, but when he whispered to Mattsun “You see Kunimi and Y/n?” one of the actors heard and started shrieking about having eaten the two of you.

How they reacted:

Makki and Mattsun are actively planning your’s and Kunimi’s funerals just to rile up Oikawa, much to Iwa’s distress. Probably reenacting Shakespearean monologues about your death while the others slowly dissolve into mass panic (thanks to Oikawa).

Iwaizumi is desperately trying to keep things under control, while also keeping an eye out for the two of you. He knows it’s likely you got lost but he has enough sense to know that surely one of the actors would break character to help you...right? He’s trying a little extra hard to keep his cool.

Oikawa? An absolute Mess™. He is plowing through the attraction, accidentally bumping into actors left and right, shrieking at every turn while shouting for you (not Kunimi tho hfkajsdfaks) and trying (and failing) to direct Kyōtani and Iwaizumi through the house as if they were Pokémon.

Kyōtani is a little too busy hanging on to his last shred of dignity to give you a second thought. Between trying to keep his cool and trying to get Oikawa to stop pushing him into the rooms when his heart is barely hanging in there, he is a millisecond away from an all out villain origin story. Yahaba is mildly concerned, but honestly he’s too busy cackling at Kyōtani (please yahaba let the man have a minute of peace).

Kindaichi and Watari feed off Oikawa’s chaotic energy - they didn’t know what was going on, but they heard that you and Kunimi were dead and just began blindly panicking along with their Captain.

Where they found you: Outside, with Kunimi, having completed the attraction 20 minutes ago. You stood at the exit with ice creams and gasped when the rest of the team was escorted out by security. You guys are banned from coming back, but you can’t get too upset about it when the team rushes to you - Oikawa flinging his arms dramatically around your frame half muttering into your hair about how he thought he lost you, Iwa standing a little closer than usual, the rosiness of his cheeks and the softened gaze giving him away as he says “Glad you’re okay”, Kyōtani standing on the side opposite Iwa, his hand coming to hold the hem of your shirt to comfort him. Yahaba, Kindaichi, and Watari coming around too to talk your ear off about the chaos that just unfolded before them. You can’t help but smile as Makki and Mattsun tease Kunimi, regaling the events that had taken place and making Kunimi chuckle - certainly an achievement in it of itself.

NEKOMA

Where you went: Indoor Trampoline Park - Coach Nekomata was getting fed up with the constant bickering between members of the team (everyone @ Lev) and Coach Naoi recommended a trip to an indoor trampoline park as a team bonding field trip. Being their manager, you were forced invited along too :)

What happened: Things were going surprisingly well - Kenma and Fukunaga found an arcade area and spent most of the time there while Yamamoto and his posse of first years (Inuoka, Shibayama, and Teshiro specifically) were causing discreet chaos on the trampolines. Kuroo and Yaku raced to the obstacle course to see who could complete it first, with Kai following after them begging them to not get the team kicked out. Lev had dragged you to the end of the obstacle course to see who would reign supreme, but he dragged you into the foam pit and in his excited state, didn’t notice when you sunk in and lost your grip on his hand. It wasn’t until Kai asked Lev about your whereabouts that it hit him that he lost you, his hands sweating as he turns to Kai with straight panic. Yaku and Kuroo tie (though each of them insists there was a clear win) and walk up just as Lev stuttered out “I-I think I lost them.”

How they reacted:

Kuroo’s mother hen senses immediately spring into action - he calls for everyone to meet up at the center to confirm that no one knew your whereabouts.

All hell breaks loose when they notice that both you and Kenma are missing from the group.

Kenma had left the arcade after some younger kids had barreled into the area shrieking like escaped zoo animals - when he decided to hide underneath the foam pit, he found you (hiding from Lev) chillin’ and decided to join you.

Fukunaga found you guys relatively quickly, but returned back to the group and didn’t say a single word about it, he just watched the team crumple into hysteria with a pleasant smile on his face LMAO

Kuroo is yelling at Lev, who’s drowning in a sea of guilt and is literally near tears (please someone hug our tall lanky boi). Kai is trying to get him to remember the last time he was with you, but Lev is too busy spiraling.

Yamamoto is already calling Tanaka to plan a funeral service for you - he is inconsolable and Inuoka and Shibayama are trying (see: Failing) to console him with gentle pats and “They’re probably fine, Taketora-san!”

Teshiro is trying hard to maintain his composure but everyone else’s stress is getting to him and he can’t decide if he wants to cry, go home, or both.

Kuroo is seconds away from taking over the intercom to call for a shut down when Lev bursts out with a “THEY’RE IN THE FOAM PIT” and the entire team hustles to the foam pit to save you.

Yaku is trying to make it worse because stressed Kuroo brings him a sick pleasure pls I can’t I love Yaku so much lmaooo

Yaku: “it’s been too long...they’ve definitely suffocated by now.”

Kai: “KNOCK IT OFF YAKU”

Lev sticks his arm down into the foam pit, blindly searching for either one of you.

I swear Kenma becomes a body contortionist the way he moves to avoid the dangling arm that’s jerking around in a desperate attempt to catch a hold of something human shaped

Where they found you: The moment you hear Yamamoto say something about ordering vigil candles, you realize that you should probably let them know you’re alright. You sigh dejectedly and take Lev’s hand and he HURLS you up out of the foam pit and rocket launches you into the air. The team collectively catches you before you hit the ground and they all bear hug you, Yamamoto sobbing while still on the phone with Tanaka - Kenma shows up seconds later and Kuroo crushes the both you in a hug while simultaneously scolding you. the first years and Yaku all talk over each other trying to tell you the absolute chaos you two caused and Kenma is so bothered by the noise he disappears again causing another panic before you guys are inevitably kicked out.

they don't mean any offense but they look at you weird sometimes

when you joined the team, being fresh and all they couldn't pinpoint your personality

you were emotionless that you scare them when you had no reaction to certain things they do

kenma understood you and saw the bliss of things you've done like lending a hand for help or giving snacks to your classmates

this one time, he felt nervous and embarassingly he finds the action of him shaking, hands clasped together to stop his anxiety (it's not bb, don't worry)

your hands reached out for him and warmly squeezed it, softly asking him if he needs some time of his mind and a conversation to distract whatever he's experiencing

his heart leaped, startled by your sudden actions and he accidently squeezed you too hard making you wince

an akward apology he mustered to you but you whispered to him that it's alright, you sat him down and asked him to do breathing exercises

that moment he felt that you were purely understood by the rest of the team because you just have a hard time with emotions and explain it better by actions

so he quickly corrects his team mates' muttering with how nice you actually are

his team mates were taken aback by how well he seemed to know you but kenma just responded nonchalantly that there were obvious moments you helped the team with care

from that time on, they examined you

it was obnoxious.. but you let it slide it was irritating, it was endearing.. but still irritating

but they catch on so they also give you things in return

one would give you small trinkets and plushies and say most of it reminds him of you (he gives a lot so you wonder how many times they would remind him of you)

if anyone would ask what's with the amount of stuffies on your desk, you would say a dear person gave it to you (though it looks like multiple confessions lead to the junk littering the table)

one would give you snacks like how you gave the whole team time to time

from little sweets to freshly baked bread, he would give them to you or share

he likes the small moments of you enjoying what he gave you while you slowly chewed on whatever's in your hands

one would lend a helping hand eventhough you reject his help nicely, he would still worm himself over to you

like carrying chairs, setting the net with you, readjusting the positions they were on your little clipboard you used to brainstorm wuth them and etc

noticing all of them doing this in return for what you did for them makes you crack out a small crooked smile

their hearts combusted if you would ever personally direct it to them

it warms you when they choose to do sugary actions, like rewarding you for your hard work

(you deserve it.)

Shiratorizawa

"you're just like our captain!" (guess who said that)

ushijima tries his best to warmly welcome you in the team and he feels grateful to have you on it when you immediately rush over to do your tasks immediately

the team notices your lack of reaction and they guessed everything in the book of why you would do it

their main thought was difficulty in emotions and they kinda struggled to approach you when they want to ask for help

goshiki was the main thing in which they could see that you were infact a big softie finding trouble to communicate as you help the poor boy with his homework and studies

that's why study groups are a thing now, to help you back (which you had to admit, there were some things you couldn't really understand in class) and you sighed gratefully that you had the boys to help you

one would leave sticky notes everywhere, telling you that you're doing a great work and doodling in every note he gives you

trying to show appreciation to what he does, you would put a board up, putting up his sticky notes on it that if he sees it, he would add more (stop him, he's a menace)

if guitar playing isn't a reward then what is it???

tendou would annoy semi to bring out his guitar at end of studying to play off his new songs

you would speak up and say that his voice was pretty that you nearly knock the boy off his feet (not because of tendou punching him the stomach for being a show off but because of him being a showoff)

it was like a captivating lullaby you would listen to every night if you want to flatter him more and make the whole group go crazy and go "oOoOOo" at him

one was a tough cookie to crack but tell him that he's a hella good player and this man is on his knees

he lives off your compliments and praises that he just has a nasty feeling in his heart he can't settle that you were just raising his ego so he blurt it out one day

asking if what you say is true

"huh??" if that isn't an honest response to his heart then idk what is

he just pats your shoulder and nods, saying his thank you, countinuing with practise

the whole team needed validation with how they're playing with the constant barks from the coach (it did helped them but hearing a more softer "good job" calms them down more than an old strict dog on a leash on their butts to haunt them if they fail)

they would sometimes look back at you and you would give a tiny thumbs up they would smile at and get back into the game to get more of your words by the end of the game

"you're just like our captain, a big softie with a bigger heart!" (guess who said that again)

a small eyeroll from you made the whole team laugh even earning a tiny nod from the captain from his best friend's words

a big softie.. you smile at random times remembering the words said by one of your dear friends on the team you manage

Okay so these adorable teams all have the softest spot for their tiny little manager-chan, and here's how they all treat her.

[Ari's note: okay manager fics and headcanons are my absolute favourite and I love writing them]

They are extremely laid back with you, compared to some of the other teams. They give you your space, at the same time listen to you when you have something to say.

Respectful simps. Similar to how they act with Kiyoko (ugh yes queen-chan) they're in tears whenever you do things to motivate them, like cheer at their practice matches or give them good luck charms.

They still have the good luck charms you fastened on their bag before one of the matches.

Hinata and Kags would probably see you as an older sister, eventho you're their age because you're so caring and responsible.

Suga is literally your mom and Daichi is your dad. They make sure you're all healthy and you're doing well in school.

Asahi gives you hugs whenever you're sad or upset! Fite me but I think this gentle baby gives the best hugs ever >:( he's like your comfort senpai and you'd do the same for him, especially when he's feeling insecure or down.

Yams would probably be very shy around you, but he'll warm up in time.

Ahhh the best part. Tsukki! He'd find you annoying and simply not get why you're so Mcfreaking happy at first (shut up u salty beanpole, manager-chan is just a ray of sunshine, okay?) But he soon finds it endearing and slowly gets closer to you.

You walk home with Yams and Tsukki every day since your houses are close, and Tsukki walks you to your door to make sure you're safe!

Ennoshita, Kinoshita and Narita all see you as a little sister and often help you with your managerial duties.

The team cares and respects you so much, and are so thankful you've joined them!!

Meat buns at Ukai's are your hangout spot, and everytime you see them chilling you're so thankful to have such great friends.

Aaah we're at the team of one of my favourite characters!! I'll start with Oikawa (can't you tell I'm so biased omg)

Oikawa absolutely adores manager-chan because although she's tiny, she's very strict, and doesn't let his fangirls near the gym when he's practicing, which he appreciates.

"yn-chan, you're so good to me, can I take you out as a thank-you?" Cue Iwa-chan's ball which comes flying at Oikawa's head. "Stop flirting with the manager, shitty-kawa"

Iwa's very fond of you too, but he doesn't let it show too often. Sometimes he picks up your favourite coffee from the vending machine and claims that he bought it by "accident". (How believable<3)

Kunimi probably sends you weird tiktok videos and tags you in funny memes. Very wholesome 10/10.

Kyotani just?? Doesn't understand you?? Like wow, she's small but the team listens to her?? Why?? He later finds out you're the manager. Mad dork here didn't know you were managing the team for the past month, and thought you just came to the gym to watch them practice. Smh.

Matsukawa and Hanamaki give you headpats and like taking selfies with you, much to Oikawa's dismay. He wants to be the only one taking pictures with you.

Like no manager-chan. Stop. Get away from them. My phone's right here I wanna take selfies with you :(

Kindaichi is cool with you. Y'all are bros and you game together sometimes.

Watari and Yahaba join too, and they're surprised to know that you're so aggressive when you game.

Cue a jealous Oikawa who struggles learning how to game just so he's invited to play with you. Simp smh.

They're all very gentle with you, and since you're their first female manager, they make sure to never make you feel uncomfortable.

You guys like grabbing ramen together and having eating contests. They really bring out your aggressive side but you love them for it.

Can I just say Semi bsf material? Yes? Yes. Semi Eita is best friend material.

Makes you cute little Spotify playlists and you help him write lyrics to songs occasionally. You play an instrument too and you guys can just jam out for hours on end together.

You get the idea of applying to be the manager because of him, and it all took off from there.

Goshiki loves you. You're fond of your kohāi, and you genuinely just give this touch-starved future ace a lot of hugs and cuddles, which he's SO grateful for.

Like wow, y/n-chan isn't just pretty?? She's also so sweet? And smart? And capable? Semi why have you been hiding her for so long??¿ >:(

Goshiki is just so protective of you, he'd commit murder if he had to.

You have to earn Ushiwaka's respect, yk? And slowly but surely he comes to realise how dependable and responsible you are, and treats you like an indispensable member of the team.

He's got your back. And if he ever senses you're upset, he's trying to cheer you up as best as he can.

"do not feel upset, those grades will mean nothing to you in the future. I doubt you will be able to remember what you got in your second year, third monthly test." You think he's being sweet, and yes he is (in a way), but he's also trying to be reasonable and logical.

Tendo loosens you up and you tend to play pranks on the others with him.

The funniest was when you tried to prank Ushijima by adding wasabi to his onigiri and he?? Didn't get it??

Like "y/n-chan, Tendo, why did you add wasabi to this onigiri? It would've been so much better with tuna mayo??" And he has no reaction whatsoever?¿?

Cue Goshiki who tries the onigiri because he wants to prove he has spice tolerance like Ushijima, eventhough you can low-key see him tearing up.

Shirabu is your voice of reason and you and him often study together. You also have deep and philosophical conversations at 12 a.m. over text, and it is just so wholesome.

He respects you so much, not just because you care for him, but because he finds your brain so fricking smexy.

These eagle babies bring out the best in you and you're always eager to push them forward and bring out the best in them.

*.` | Fukurodani

First thing's first, besides Akaashi, you are the only other person who can cheer up an emo-mood Bokuto.

Just say "Hey Bo, you're gonna look so much cooler when you spike the ball like the true ace that you are" and his hair's all perking up and his eyes are shining.

Akaashi thinks you are an angel sent from heaven.

You're very soft on your baby owls, and they genuinely just love getting positive affirmations from you.

Akaashi always blushes when you compliment him on his sets. And you can hear him murmur genuine words of gratitude.

The other members do too. They're glad because sometimes people focus on Bo too much and forget to give them recognition, yk? It's easy to get overlooked :(

But thanks to manager-chan who's so attentive with all of them, and who's aware of all their quirks and moods, they're all so touched and so so happy.

You have a habit of getting cold pretty often, especially since practice finishes late and it's pretty chilly by then.

Konoha always lends you his jacket and walks you home, since your home's are the closest. There's just something about you that makes you soft.

You get along really well with Kaori and Yukie, and you'd definitely consider them your best friends, considering y'all are in this thang togetherrrr!!

The Fukurodani team are just all a bunch of crackheads, but they're your crackheads and you wouldn't trade them for the world.

You're a very tight-knit family, (like ugh I just get lots of comfortable, safe vibes from Fukurodani :(( <3)

You guys hang out at the store near your school pretty often to recharge after grueling days of practice together.

My second favourite team, Nekoma!! They are precious, gentle, soft babies and I love them to bits and pieces >:(

I'll start with Kuroo. You've always had a tiny soft spot for Kuroo ever since you've become his lab partner in chemistry class.

His notes are immaculate. I mean, cmon we're all hoes for pretty notes

You think he's so incredibly smart and talented, so when he suggests you become the Nekoma manager, you just agree right away.

You guys grow closer since you've started spending more time with him, and you banter around more often than not with chemistry pickup lines.

"hey kitten, let's form a covalent bond"

He's so whipped after you retort back. Like wow she called me sodium fine and said I'm like an exothermic reaction? Permission to simp??

Kenma and you definitely play animal crossing together, and he even lets you try his switch, after you guys grow closer.

Kuroo is so insulted, he's never even touched Kenma's switch before >:(

You also push Kenma to do better during practice and he starts to care more about volleyball, since you seem so enthusiastic about it.

Yamamoto isn't even subtle about his simping smh T-T unlike Kuroo, he shamelessly flirts with you, and can't wait to show you off to Tanaka and Noya at the next camp.

"we have such a gorgeous manager now, Nekoma is ThRiViNg" he says in his head with this ridiculous dopey ass smile on his face +_+

Since deep down inside, you're a huge baby, you, Lev, Shibayama, and Inuoka get along so well. They're just happy energetic kittens, and they make you feel so happy.

y'alls energy just match, yk?

Although Fukunaga is shy to tell jokes, he tells them to you, because he knows you'd never judge him, and you actually kinda enjoy laughing along :) he's so touched.

Momma Yaku!! Yaku always lends you his jacket and makes sure to carry snacks for you in his bag. He knows you care so much about the team that you often neglect your own health, which is why he's always there to make you're feeling healthy and good.

Kai and Teshiro help you with your homework and like talking about their favourite singers with you.

They're all just such amazing human beings who treat you so well, and you feel so blessed to be a part of their team. You adore them so much, and they adore you back tenfold.

Inarizaki's entire team just adores you so much, they think you're the light of their lives.

They're all super touch starved babies, and once you realized that, you've made sure to ensure they never feel that way.

Aran is kinda like your protective senpai, and his heart flutters ever so slightly when you call him that senpai kink oops and give him headpats, and he loves patting your head in return.

The twins are so incredibly soft for you.

Their fangirls are sometimes pretty mean, but one glare from the duo is enough to shut them up.

Osamu cooks bentos for you and gives you the warmest hugs when you ask for them, burying his head in the crook of your neck.

Your hand is almost always in Atsumu's because he's so slick?? Like y'all, this mf would be like "y/n-chan, my hand has been aching for a while now" and when you go to observe it, he just pulls your hand into his and pulls you to follow him.

His entire body heats up when you kiss his cheek after a particularly good game, and his brain literally goes "grrrr empty", when he's usually so sly.

The twins are your bodyguards, they follow you everywhere and protect you all the time.

Enter Suna Rintaro, your meme king. He definitely records funny moments that happen during practice and send them to you, just to make you laugh, or memes of the members.

He also definitely takes pictures of you when you aren't noticing, simply because he likes the way your hair looked, or because you looked so beautiful.

Like the twins, his eyes widen whenever you kiss his cheek or ruffle his hair, and it's literally like suna.exc has stopped functioning.

Congrats manager-chan, you broke the kid -.-

Omimi might come across as stoic and cold but he's actually a huge softie, and you often give him positive affirmations.

He's also definitely a huge lover of your hugs, and looks forward to them as motivation to play well.

He'd never tell you though, he's shy™.

My baby Kita compliments you all the fricking time.

"y/n-chan, I mean this is the most sincere way, I think this hairstyle looks stunning on you"

Or "you're so capable and you work so hard, I'm so thankful to have you by my side"

And he has the most genuine expression on his face, his eyes are so earnest and shining so bright.

And when you smile at him, he's like oh shit I made her smile, depression whom? I only know serotonin.

Ginjima is usually rash but with you, he takes his time and weighs everything he says.

He doesn't wanna accidentally hurt you and regret it since he was being careless and not thinking at all.

You calm him down when he's getting too hotheaded with gentle words and he's suddenly a blushing mess.

Unlike some of the other teams that tease you a bunch, Inarizaki treats you so gently. Their little princess, as they think of you.

So mf-ing protective, like if someone looks at you wrong, you can totally bet Atsumu's going for their ankles, sangwoo style, or Osamu is trash talking them to their knees.

Would drop anything and everything to help you if ever needed.

They think you're they're entire world because you go above and beyond for them, and they genuinely love you. Like actually LOVE you to bits and pieces.

THIS IS SO FUCKING FUNNY BECAUSE I KNOW FOR A FACT THAT KENMA WOULD SO THIS. Kenma makes you agree to him being able to walk in when ever he wants if you ever end up living with Kuroo and you say yes. So theres days where you’re go out with only Kuroos shirt and nothing under at like 2 am and you’re trying to reach for a cup and it just end up in your hands.

you’re still really sleepy so you’re like chile- i got my glass lets drink some water. And you get some ice cold water and the second it spills down your chin, youre like- “OH MY FUCKING GOD” Spitting water everywhere because you just realized someone handed you the glass. You turn around and kenma is sitting on the kitchen counter- like next to where you just stood, looking down at his switch. “Kenma?! What the fuck- It’s 2 in the morning.”

“Its actually 2:30 but no one is counting.”

“What happened?!” Kuroo is running out with a metal bat Stiles Stilinski style, shirt off and only in red boxers. “Oh... It’s just Kenma.”

“Hi Kuroo.”

You’re rolling your eyes and you shove Kenma again for scaring you, “When i told you, you can come whenever you like- I DONT MEAN AT TWO IN THE FUCKING MORNING!”

“Well, you should have specified that.”

You take his switch, and he just glances up at you with his hands still in the same position. “Go sleep in the spare room- or get out.”

“Kuroo-”

“Ah, ah- Don’t Kuroo him. I pay the bills here too- so you are going to sleep before I delete all the data on your game.” Kenma sighed and jumped off the kitchen counter. “I forget how scary they are...” He muttured to Kuroo. Your husband nods, “Yeah... So do I.”

it was mainly yamamoto who showed it tho

it was funny cuz kuroo forced everyone to calm down since he didn’t want to scare you away

its been a while since they had a manager yk o(╥﹏╥)o

(its 1:11 am and im just spewing out whatever i feel like)

when its break time and you just wanna finish some homework you usually stay with kenma, you find the sounds from his game comforting

when you need help with your hw tho, you can count on kuroo to help you out :))

now they always wipe their sweat with their shirt so that you’ll get mad and do it yourself lol
