in response to yesterday! i haven’t hyper fixated on mha in a min but i will definitely come to u whenever i have shiggy thots since he’s our sweet babyboy!
and ngl i recently been feeling kirishima 👉🏾👈🏾 he gives me cute puppy vibes that wanna please, no matter if it’s sexual or non sexual…. so i’m hopping right on the “kirishima love train” w you. move over!!
the name hawks give me ptsd /jjjj he’s been kicked off of my list of favs bc he’s kinda overrated and the fanon version of him makes me wanna vomit. i prefer gang orca nowadays 🤤
u reminded me of my love for broken (anime) men. my mommy kink comes before anything else bc !!!! my baby gyu from demon slayer. i’m not sure if u read the manga (i won’t spoil) but he is my baby!! i just want to hug, kiss his face all over & take care of him like it’s nobody’s business 🥺
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
speaking of mc’s that u like, have u watched/read tokyo’s revengers?? i think you’ll like takemichi. if u like the sweet and crybaby-ish type of mc’s
can u tell i’m excited???? LMAGSKDK
The wife is in love with mha so it's always there in the background. It's not really my favorite series but has some parts/characters I don't totally loathe 😂
Kiri train! 🚂 chu chu! He is the utterly bestest boi in the entire world and I don't take criticism! Kiri is built like a fucking dom but with the mind set of the perfect service top like- This man is gonna slobber all over you and eagerly await everything you bc he can't tell you know and nothings manlier than serving your lover like a goddess. Kiri is 1000/10 👌
I've virulently avoiding the mha fandom from day one. I simply won't interact with only mha writers or artist. And I sure as hell won't read fics unless my wife wrote them. So my image of Hawks has stayed pristine in my mind as the pretty bird man I wanna ship in his mouth birds make me go brrr (the gang orca thing I can't get. I'd take Selkie over him 🤷‍♀️)
You know...I'm starting think my love from bastard men was my mommy kink showing up even before I knew I had a mommy kink....huh, will you look at that, 15 yr old me had a mommy kink too 😂
Really gotta thoroughly read the kny manga. I've seen Gyu but I've like, read the cliff notes, kinda thing >.>" Genya was my real first crush. (yes Im aware what happens v.v) but I just have a weakness for bastard jackasses that look mean <333
Ugh I don't really like whiney characters 😫 Atsumu sulks in the locker room as a 26 yr old man one time, and I end up with one crush on fucking crybaby Izuku istg these aren't my type 😫😫😫 But if gonna be real my jackass side is coming out with Tokyo Rev and I'm flat out never gonna watch it. It's so hyped up and literally flooding everything that I just said fuck it I think the anime and manga style is so ugly (and the fans are as shitty as the mha ones it seems and like hell i need more of that shit 🙄) I don't know what you and all my other mutuals are doing but you guys keep doing it bc I enjoy seeing you piss off all those daddy dom readers who lewd all those gangly ass bitch boys 😂

Breaking Dawn, Part Four:  HOLD ON HOPE
Tumblr media
The entities of emotion were, to many a race, creation deities. They had beget many a species, including the Irken race, a race born from a union of Intelligence and Will.
And now the species born from Hope was poised to end the Irken race. High above the planet Irk, aiding the Resisty ships as countless others formed a blockade to cut off Irk from the rest of the galaxy, it appeared as though all of Irk's hopes laid in the Wing, the host to Hope, herself an Irken...
"Please." She insisted, clasping her hands together, getting on bent knee before the Meekrob race as the "lighties" hovered before her. The rest of the Resisty stood behind her, Lard Nar frowning slightly. He had had reservations originally about having her join his crew, but she'd proven invaluable, gentle, and above all, considerate. She had owed the Resisty a debt after they'd saved her life...and she'd repaid it time and time again. Now she asked for clemency...
"Can't we give them half a year?" Lard Nar finally asked. "...I don't like the idea of giving the Irkens much time, but just a few months to surrender?" He went on, waving his hands in the air. "It's only fair."
"Would THEY give YOUR race the same mercy?" The leader of the Meekrob growled in its ethereal voice. Sarong was not a kindly being by nature. "DID they give your race half a year to submit before they pitilessly invaded, foul little BUGS that they are?"
"...aren't we supposed to be better than the bugs?" A third voice spoke up, as they turned to see two people stepping off a teleportal pad, dusting themselves off. "The Massive's been moved. Sold. Fresh off the market and on it's way to a very, VERY happy customer."
"Well, THAT would put a smile on my face had I a face!" Sarong laughed. "...alright. I'll give the Irkens a MONTH to surrender to our blockade, to come over to our way of thinking. Get the message out." The phantom-esque glowing being demanded, turning his head to his people as they moved along with the Resisty to the communications relay. "I sincerely HOPE...for your people's sake...they do the smart thing and give in." Sarong told the Wing.
"I have faith that they will make the right choice in the end." The Wing said as she stood up, nodding firmly, moving majestically back to her quarters as she laid down on her bed, noticing her room's communication was going off. She picked up the phone, listening intently. "Yes?"
"...milady, it's me."
The Wing's eyes went wide as the Entity of Hope shimmered overhead. "Turn up the volume, quick." It asked.
"What's happening?"
"The worst, that's what. My friends tapped into your powers with the Exemplar rings. I NEED access to Hope. I need a way to break a hold that Two has over Earth's Avatar of Will, Dilbert Membrane. Otherwise he won't have a fighting chance and...and kids are gonna die."
"I'll be happy to assist, but what of the Entity of Will? Have you contacted it?"
"I don't know where it IS, only you, Compassion and Love are on my speed dial...I don't suppose any others have appeared that could be of help?"
"...the Entity of Corrupted Passion, Rage. He's appeared, but he...he won't help. Not yet. We need to have faith in Sude, who is still bonding with his own host."
"They need to hurry. YOU need to hurry."
"I'll do what I can. I must ask though...you'll need a deputy to assist you. Dib is the Pillar of Will on Earth, is he not?"
"And Gaz is Rage, yes. And you wanna know if there's one for Hope on the Base Planet? Yes. And you know him."
"Who?"
"Skoodge."
The Wing chuckled. "Oh, Skoodge, that dear little soldier. Such a cheery soul. Always looking forward, always devoted. Yes...yes, I don't think we need to worry, Frequency..."
The Wing and Entity of Hope, Psyche, smiled.
"ALL WILL BE WELL.”
Dib paced around in front of his classroom, sighing as he held his hands behind his back, chewing his lip. The Principal had announced that everyone was to leave the school building in an orderly fashion, one class at a time due to a bomb scare.
Naturally, everyone thought Dib or his sister had something to do with it. Mostly because Zim and his weird "cousin", Skoodge, wasn't in class to be pointed and hissed at. M"Alright. I am about to tell you the explanation but if I know you all...and I DO..."
He rolled his eyes at this. "You're all so ignorant you won't believe it. So here goes. A psychotic alien forced a magical kind of ring on me and my sister. He turned us into Manchurian agents that would have decimated the school around lunchtime due to a trigger he put in us. I'm still not entirely sure why. But you aren't buying ANY of that, are you?"
All of the class looked at each other, blinked, and most of them broke out into laughter. Gretchen just sighed, leaning back in her chair, head hung low as Dib sighed and pinched the space between his eyes, chewing on his lip again. "...all right, fine. Nevermind. Moot point, anyhow." God they're all IDIOTS! I'm surrounded by ID! I! OTS!
"Moot point indeed." A voice, filled with snarling rage, a faint laugh lingering in the air called out.
KRUCHA-THROOOOOM! The wall was practically shattered as Two barreled through it, encased in a red energy aura, slamming Dib through the wall on the other side, windows and wall shattering. Soon the class, in fact, the whole school was watching as Dib was sent sprawling across the football field of the High Skool, Two standing tall, fists clenched as red energy rippled from his body.
"Ah, RAGE." Two laughed. "The "Passion" turned dark just like "Diligence" became "Avarice"! A step up, in my humble opinion. See, unlike Miyu, who's off to visit my daddy dearest here in town, I don't "want it all". Nah. I think smaller. I'll just settle for my existence restored to stability as your world is transformed into MINE."
He leapt through the air, fist flying, but Dib managed to roll out of the way, Two growling angrily. "Forgot, I gave you until after lunch to have most of your will back...and I DO suppose stripping any chance you have of fighting back against me would be cheating." Two mused as Dib leaped to his feet, pointing his ring at Two.
"GO!" He yelled out.
Tiny little sparks jutted out, wisps of green slipping to the ground...but nothing. Nothing happened.
"Then again..." Two laughed, his knee going squarely into Dib's gut, knocking Dib to the football field's grass below as he cracked his neck before delivering ANOTHER kick to Dib's side, "I also have kept you from using your ring. So it's hardly a fair fight. I LIKE these odds."
THWUH-THWUCK! Dib was rolled over onto his side as Two knelt down, grabbing his throat. "I...am going to beat you so...so...badly. I'll make this last. And then, after I've stopped by this lovely Chinese restaurant in town for some noodles..." The alien leered, his golden eyes glittering like a dark fire. "I'm going to come back, have you and your sister burn this whole place down with everyone in it, and make sure you're conscious through it all. See, I WAS going to strip your consciousness from your body after this, but frankly...I think me leaving you helpless, trapped inside your own body has a certain poetic CRUELTY to it, wouldn't you say?"
He sniggered darkly, throttling Dib with his clawed hands. "Ooh, I LOVE me when I'm NASTY."
KRA-THROOMP! Two was knocked clean through the air as Gaz lowered the bench she'd carried from the end of the football field, folding her arms down at Dib. "Get up, you idiot. If ANYBODY'S gonna kick your ass, it's me and me alone."
"Thanks, Gaz!" Dib said, laughing with relief as he stood up and made to hug his dear sister, arms stretching wide. I-"
"If you get REMOTELY sentimental I'm feeding you your own nose." Gaz said swiftly, Dib shutting up and turning to face Two as he stood up, nursing a bleeding head as he frowned at them.
"Gaz...almost forgot about you. You know..." He rubbed his chin. "...you look so much like my great aunt, at least, from what the old photo albums showed of her. How'd she die again? Lab accident?"
Gaz turned pale at this. Not with fear, though. This was pure, undiluted grief running through her as Two dusted himself off.
How does he know about Mom? Dib thought.
It had been an ordinary day. Well...as ordinary as life with Prof. Membrane GETS. Peggy Membrane was listening to him speak about his latest invention in his laboratory as Dib, age 7, and Gaz, age 5, stood nearby in the Professor's considerably larger-on-the-inside-than-it-was-the-outside garage laboratory was lighted up.
"How uh...how does...this...um..." Dib asked again as Prof. Membrane strode by him, a strange, bulbous helmet atop his head as he fiddled around with a screwdriver and a control pad in his long, black-gloved hands. He was wearing his large labcoat...he ALWAYS wore his labcoat in the lab, but never in the house, thank God. Peggy always said it smelled too much like plastic.
"Compression technology." The professor laughed. "Shrinking something very, very, VERY big and compacting it into a pocket dimension, I'M A
GENIUS!" He hovered in the air, lightning splitting the air around him as Peggy quickly snatched Gaz away from an accidental bolt that almost singed her hair. "Sorry, I've GOT to be more careful about where I gloat, my dear." Matthew Membrane told "Pegster", taking the helmet off and motioning for his family to come by a table with several vats nearby labeled "DANGEROUS: EXPLODING CHEMICAL COMPOUNDS! DO! NOT! OPEN! SUPER-SERIOUSLY!" written over them.
"What's that?" Peggy inquired, pointing at his latest invention, what appeared to be some kind of mechanical clip for the hair. "You told me your invention was SMALL and unassuming but...you DO know somebody's already invented these Bluetooth things, right?" Peggy laughed.
"My dear, it's a device that lets me speak any language! Even to animals!" Prof. Membrane laughed, pulling on a lever nearby as several cages filled with animals popped up from beneath the floor, all of them looking at the family.
"Ooh, big kitty!" Gaz said, pointing at the tiger as Dib looked at a snake. It began to hiss, it's eyes almost...glowing?
Prof. Membrane quickly led Dib away from the cage, the snake cursing under its breath as Membrane held the strange, segmented clip up, giving it to Peggy. "Put it in your hair. It will transmit signals to your brain, to the part centering around language recognition. All barriers are broken down INSTANTLY! The aftereffects have been odd...something of a shared link...I talked with that bunny yesterday and after that I kept thumping my foot against the ground for half an hour."
Peggy put the clip in her hair and stared at said bunny as it chuckled. "Ooh, have I got a carrot for YOU!" It said, giggling immaturely.
"OH!" Peggy clasped the sides of her face with her hands, gasping. "You little!" She waved her finger at it and took the clip off. "Maybe I should go find a nice CAT or something to talk to." She told her husband. "Here you go, Matt."
She tossed it back to him and he stepped back to catch it...
And he went knocking into a plank that had a small vat of "Exploding Chemical Compounds" placed on the other end. Like a catapult, the small vat was launched through the air at a stunned Peggy as Dib looked up in horror, eyes widening, Gaz's mouth beginning to open in a gasp as Matthew Membrane watched most of his wife become a sloughed pile of flesh...
He never took off the lab coat after that...there was always a tiny bit of Peggy still lingering on the edges of his collar...
A tiny bit of Peggy lingering in his heart.
In ALL of their hearts...
"Do you know what rage TRULY is? The most powerful kind of hatred ISN'T born from ignorance or prejudice or from a perceived threat. Oh no." The alien waved a claw in the air. "Those are Fear in disguise. The real fire that fuels the burning hatred of rage...is personal loss. That's why I wear the red."
Two held his fist up as Gaz and Dib readied themselves, Gaz shaking angrily. "You lost your mother, you must have felt so unhappy, so ANGRY. You didn't understand. Why, why did it have to happen? And I think you blamed your father...and a tiny bit of you blamed your brother, because neither one of them were strong enough to help."
Gaz opened her mouth to say something, but then closed her eyes and clenched her fists, holding them tightly to her sides. "...that's...it wasn't MY fault...somebody had to...somebody had to take the blame. I LOVED...her." She whispered out. "...I LOVED her so...so much..."
"...my own mother is slowly dying. WILL die if my world isn't returned." Two told them softly.
"Then you know how I felt. Then you know that if I had the power...I would have done anything, ANYTHING to get her back." Gaz asked in her dark, accusing tone. "I have that power now...you FORCED it on me, but with you dead and gone, and me with this power..."
She held up her ring, grinning coldly. "I WILL find a way. I'm smart, and I'm tough...and there's not a kid in the world who wouldn't burn it all down if it meant getting back his mommy."
"Oh, Gaz..." Two whispered softly, almost sadly. "You couldn't have described me any better."
And with that, he launched himself at them, claws held high.
...
...
...
... "So..." Nick inquired, his county-boy accent thick and homely as he sat down on the pink, fluffy couch with the squat Irken Invader Skoodge at Zim's house, Zim having gone off to the Radioshack to pick up "supplies" as GIR did his own "private thing" in the laboratory. "If Mr. Billingsly is the sleaziest, number one backstabbing lover in all the town, why's he defending this gal off the street? Reckon it don't make no sense." He asked Skoodge, who was, before you ask, NOT in any disguise.
Oh no, Invader Skoodge, short, fat and cuddly Invader Skoodge, was "au naturale", ladies and gents...well, except for the clothes he was wearing, his usual maroon Invader's attire with that mysterious splotch lingering on his stomach.
"It's because before he got amnesia, William Billingsly was the sleaziest number-one LAWYER in Dawson County!" Skoodge explained, waving a gloved hand in the air as Nick passed the chocolate-covered popcorn GIR had made over to him, Skoodge tossing a handful into his mouth.
He liked having the human over. It got so boring, just being stuck in Zim's basement. This way he could talk about human soap operas like "Kissy-Kissy-Boo-Boo" AND wrestling programs like "Skull Squisher" all he wanted and with somebody who wasn't too "busy" or "stupid" to care about either one. Plus, in the event he ever said too much about Irken culture, he'd just erase Nick's memories with a little mini-squid Zim had developed to be attached to people's heads.
...again.
Yeah, he'd tested out a LOT of things on Nick and-oh. Skoodge grimly frowned as Nick took off his cap, scratching at the...
He couldn't bear to look at it. Skoodge looked away, almost puking up the popcorn he'd gobbled down as Nick decided to use the bathroom, promising to come back with soda from the kitchen as Skoodge sighed, turning his head slowly back to the television. Nice kid, that Nick. Stupid, yeah, but nice. Even before what Zim had done to him.
...that had been...
Skoodge was a trained and experienced invader. He did not ever take his job personally, and he understood that Dib had his own duty to save the planet just as he had a duty to help Zim take it over. It was, on an intellectual level, sad. In another time and place, he might have been capable of being friends with the humans. It was somewhat sad he never could be. There was a lot about this world he liked. And he was beginning to fall into an enjoyable rhythm, just staying here on Earth, hanging out.
Maybe...one day...maybe this would feel like his real home. Maybe one day he'd fine that thing he needed to make him want to stay forever. Maybe one day he WOULD be friends, and there wouldn't be a need for this back-and-forth, and they could just...BE. He was fine with waiting. He was good at that...the waiting and the hoping.
Heck, truth be told, even ZIM was beginning to fall into a steady pattern. A new plan every week instead of every day, and there was a faint camaraderie between he and the Dib-human. Sometimes, Skoodge, he could swear Zim LIKED being continuously beaten. LIKED being stuck here, constantly plotting.
Heck, GIR liked Earth plenty, Skoodge thought to himself as he snuck over to the linen closet and pulled it open, a monitor revealing what was occurring in the laboratory downstairs. GIR was dancing around, a disco ball hanging overhead as lights sprayed around, the little robot posing and singing as he strutted his stuff.
Can't read my, can't read my, No he can't read my Poker Face!
"She aint' got to love nobody!" GIR sang out, waving his butt in the air before he whipped around, holding his arms behind his head and shaking his groove thing.
Can't read my, can't read my, No he can't read my Poker Face!
Yep, nothing changed around here, Skoodge thought to himself as he closed the door, returning to the couch and turning back to the television. The state of normalcy: sitting and waiting for something to happen, and usually, it did. In the end. Things tended to work out in the end, Skoodge thought to himself as he popped some more chocolate popcorn in his mouth. He just had to keep where he was. Stay happy. Keep believing...
He stiffened suddenly, as a voice called out to him, a faint accent lingering in it as he slowly turned his head, looking upon a blue-furred being that had stepped into the living room. It wore a blue cap with a strange white symbol on it's head, and blue shorts to match with a special ring in one hand...a ring with a blue symbol upon it that was being offered to him. To HIM.
"Skoodge of Irk." Frequency said cheerily. "Stoic ol' Skoodge. You have the ability to feel great hope."
He put the ring in Skoodge's hand and Skoodge slowly slipped it on, eyes widening. It felt so natural...like he'd been missing a limb all his life, forced to wear a prosthetic but now gaining back his old hand...
Meanwhile, a maroon-eyed, green-skinned being, Invader Zim himself, was walking back from Radio Shack to his house, his arms filled with sacks full to the brim of technical material he needed for his latest plan.
"Brilliant, BRILLIANT! I'll transform pigs into half-human slaves, rounding up humans and overriding their genetic code with my own glorious Irken DNA!" Zim laughed to himself. "Irken and human fused together and at my command, I'll build a new Irken Empire right here on Planet Earth!"
He blinked suddenly, frowning as he put down his bags and scratched his head. "Wait. I'm TALKING TO MYSELF...vrik na tishanti!" He cursed. "I'm becoming too much like the Dib-Stink." He sighed and reached into his maroon outfit, pulling out a small notepad from within. "And have I already done something like this lately? Better check the list."
He took out a pen that popped up from his PAK, flipping through the notebook. "Hmm. Fiddle with gravity in school...launching chickens into outer space...replacing organs with STUFF...launching COWS into outer space...launching GHOST INSPECTORS into outer space...oh. "Turn dogs into dog-people". Ah, DOGS, not pigs. Yep, this'll work!"
"Observation: You always had a knack for such ideas. Insanely brilliant...they called you mad." A metallic, yet distinctly feminine voice rang out, making Zim whip his head in its direction as he saw a robotic female approach him, black-outfit making her look VERY slim, with a red helm over her head and tipless white gloves showing off almost Irken-like long clawed fingers. "But madness is merely genius to a small mind, and when compared to you, most organics have small minds."
"...what ARE you? Explain yourself!" Zim demanded angrily, pointing at her. "Tell Zim!"
"Explanation: I have an offer for you." The woman said. "I am Miyu. I ask this..."
She held up a ring in her finger...a faint orange glow to it.
"Join my corps."
...
...
...
...The kids of the school were watching, their teachers unable to get them to leave as they saw Gaz and Dib struggling with Two, who kept flinging them around the football field, kicking and punching them whenever they got close enough. Dib had managed to bust one of Two's cheek bones, and Gaz had delivered, WAS delivering-
"YOOOOOWWW-OOOOOOH-HOOOO-HOOOO-HOOOO!"
Ooooch. Gaz fought DIRTY. Two staggered back, flailing out with his ring as a medieval torture rack attached itself via energy construct to Gaz, trying to stretch her out as Dib struggled to break her free, Two cradling his sore crotch. "Y-you dirty little...GAAAAH..."He muttered out.
"You're just going to stand there and watch them suffer like that?" Gretchen asked the others as Ms. Bitters calmly looked up from her copy of "Beyond Good and Evil", "harrumphed" and went back to reading. The rest of the class looked around at each other, almost hesitant.
"We can't just stand here and WATCH!" Gretchen insisted angrily, waving her arms in the air. "We've gotta DO something! ANYTHING to help them!"
"That thing can shoot finger-beams. What're WE gonna do?" The Letter M asked, scratching his head as Poonchy nodding in agreement.
"Oooooh. He just made a shark." Zita called out as Dib yelled for his life, climbing one of the football poles as Two danced in victory, Gaz being beaten up by a cheer-leading team he'd summoned forth with his ring, Gaz swearing to rip off Two's head and make him eat it later. Somehow.
She could do it, you know! She TOTALLY could!
"GRAAAAH!" Gretchen tugged at her hair, exiting the room and stomping out into the hallway-
Running into a beautiful-looking being who was standing by the Guidance Counselor. Her eyes widened as the Guidance Counselor nodded at the angel.
"This is her."
"I'm surprised you figured it out."
"I spent years around the Entity of Love. I know souls filled with it. And her love for Dib has marked her."
The Beautiful Angel stepped forward, putting something in Gretchen's hand. "You won't remember us. Nobody in this school will remember us, my friend will make sure of that. But when the time comes, you'll know what to do inside your heart." The Beautiful Angel crooned, taking Gretchen's cheek and kissing her on the forehead before leaving, Gretchen moving the ring in her hand to her pocket as the Guidance Counselor took her shoulder.
It was as if a veil that had been placed over her eyes was ripped away. "Wh-what was I doing?" She asked, scratching her head as Mr. Thildari moved her back to the class.
"I THINK you were watching THAT." Mr. Thildari said cheerily, pointing outside the opened-up walls as two forms descended from the sky on blue wings, Dib gasping as a green blaze swirled around him, power coursing through his body. Now he was returned to his once-heroic form, standing tall and proud, his Will reasserted over the ring as Two snarled furiously, turning on Frequency.
"You! And...and YOU?" He gasped, seeing Skoodge as Skoodge smiled over in a surprised Dib and Gaz's direction.
"Power levels at 104%...119%...124%..." Dib's ring called out as Skoodge gave Dib the best thumbs up he could.
"Don't worry, Dib-Thing. Hope's wings have always lifted Will higher than it could ever soar. Trust me...All will be well." Skoodge spoke kindly, comfortingly.
And did he look IMPRESSIVE. A cloth covering the top of his head and forehead, with the white symbol of Hope emblazoned upon it. His outfit was vaguely Shamanic...long robe-like shirt to wear, exposing his arms, tipless gloves, plain, simple...and above all, he looked so peaceful and comforted. So SMUG, almost.
"So you've betrayed us?" Two growled at Frequency.
"What can I say, dude?" Frequency laughed, holding his ring up with Dib and Skoodge. "Except...COWABUNGAAAAAA!"
With that, an ENORMOUS blue wave of energy shot forth from Frequency's ring, formed like a tidal wave that SLAMMED into Zerinim Two Jookiba with all the fury of an ocean, as Dib now launched his OWN shark at Two, the pointy nose JAMMING into Two's chest, making him gasp in pain as he was sent spiraling through the air, knocked around by the wave...
Skoodge leaped forward, forming an enormous pair of hands that suddenly pinned Two to the ground, a pair of hands that rapidly became attached to the energy construct of a professional wrestler.
"And now Rodrick has his evil twin Rodrick in a Leg Hold!" Skoodge laughed, the wrestler slamming Two into the ground over and over before tossing him through the goal posts.
"TOUCHDOWN!" Gaz laughed, racing towards Two and kicking him squarely in the face, knocking him through the air and towards the school, right in the direction of Ms. Bitters.
"Huh?" She looked up just in time.
KA-THRUNCKA!
Everyone let out a simultaneous "Ewwwww" and stepped away as Two stood up, dusting himself off and looking down beneath him at what he'd landed on. He stuck his worm-like tongue out, stepping off and watching as Ms. Bitters' feet curled up, the rest of her body melting away as she let out a final sigh of "What a woooorld".
"It's over." Dib said, cracking his knuckles as Skoodge, Frequency, Gaz and he approached Two, who growled and reached into his vest, pulling out a small capsule-like computer.
"You'll never control Dib again, not with ME here, brah." Frequency proclaimed. "And you ain't gonna get to GAZ, either. We've spoken with the Big Bad behind it himself and he's given the ALL clear. Try to take her over again, you get a wipe out!"
"No. It's just BEGINNING." Two growled out. "EMERGENCY TEMPORAL SHIFT."
With a WHOOMP, he was gone, vanished from sight as the class looked from the wreckage to Dib, who scratched the back of his head. Were they FINALLY going to believe him now about the aliens thing?
"I guess...you're all wondering about all of that, right?" He asked.
"It's a gang war, you see." Mr. Thildari said quickly, stepping forward and waving a hand in the air. "Dib informed me that members of a gang who were INSANELY jealous of our school since it's so amazing, especially the clean bathrooms..."
"Oh yeah, yeah."
"Absolutely.
"Of course." Everyone agreed, nodding their heads.
"So they prepared to carry out an attack and decided to beat up Dib because he was the most noticeable of us all with his big head. Luckily Dib's friends here were skilled enough to fend them off with the fancy technological equipment that Prof. Membrane loaned his son and his friends in the event something strange like this ever happened. Isn't that right, Gaz?" Mr. Thildari wanted to know.
Gaz shrugged. "Yeah. Whatever."
"Oh, yes, YES." Gretchen said quickly. "Oh, Dib and I have talked about this before when we're alone! Some people have mace in their pockets, he's got super-tech!" She lied with a smile, quickly putting one arm around his and grinning.
"Er...yeah! Big, bad, rival gangs! It was all a rival gang." Dib decided quickly, gulping nervously. "DEFINITELY not aliens! And these guys are just in costumes cuz they were going to a party at my house later this afternoon. Costume party. Really private affair and stuff. Right, Gaz?"
"Yeah. Costume party. I mean, you can see the zipper!" Gaz chuckled, pointing at Skoodge's teeth as he grinned.
"Well, I think Gretchen had best inform the principal of our little...predicament...with your teacher." Mr. Thildari told the class. "And I think that perhaps I should drive you home, Dilbert, Gazeline...it's been a long, long day and I think we could all use a break, especially you two..."
...
...
...
... "I can't BELIEVE they bought it. I can't believe TWO bought it! One of the worst performances of my career and he didn't doubt it for a second." Frequency laughed, slapping his knee as Skoodge poured everyone some soda using GIR, who opened up his mouth. Gaz then closed GIR up and moved him over her chips, pulling down on an arm as nacho cheese was squirted down onto her snack. "I don't even know what the Entity of Rage LOOKS like! Ha! This is off...the...HOOK!"
"Hope, huh?" Dib inquired, looking Skoodge over as he calmly sipped some Diet-Poopsi, nodding sagely.
"Yes. Our Exemplar Rings gain power from the Entities of Emotions, and I was meant to wield Hope the way you were meant to wield Will, and Gaz was meant to wield Rage." Skoodge explained.
"Meant to? Entities?" Dib asked.
"What...ARE you?" Zim inquired, eyes widening at the ring in Miyu's hand.
"I suppose I should explain." Frequency admitted, sitting in a chair nearby as GIR clapped his hands together, beaming.
"It's STORYTIME?" GIR asked cheerily, hopping up and down.
"Uh...yep."
"Ooh, does it involve monkeys?"
Skoodge snorted, looking over in Dib and Gaz's directions as Gaz growled. "What's THAT supposed to mean?"
Frequency laughed and chuckled slightly, holding out his ring as an series of images began to form for them all, GIR's eyes widening. "Oooooooh. Laser liiiiights..."
"In the beginning, there was just one universe planned for creation. What happened...was something quite different. There was a...change...in the nature of the cosmos." Mr. Thildari explained calmly.
"Instead of ONE universe being made, a multiverse was created." Miyu went on. "Endless parallel worlds, similar in some ways, bizarrely different in others, were formed. All were occupying the same space, but vibrating at entirely different frequencies."
"Like two cars parked side by side in the same parking lot...or sometimes right on top of one another, with nobody realizing." The guidance counselor suggested.
"And there were entities, beings of INCREDIBLE power, that watched over all of this and spread the power of emotions through the universe." Miyu murmured. "The first was entity of Life, Sude, of the Seraphi race."
Zim blinked. "The Seraphi?" Wait, the Irken race had SENT invaders in the direction of the soc-called home of the Seraphi, the planet Allforce. What had happened to them? Had they becme dragon chow? They'd never heard from the fools again...
"I know what you're thinking. The race did not perform things such as that. They were the kind who offered laughter and joy up to their God instead of blood rituals. They simply sent Irken laughter to Sude."
Zim raised a non-existent eyebrow. "...wait...you mean?"
FIVE HUNDRED YEARS AGO...
"WE'LL TICKLE YOU FOREVER!" One brown and yellow-horned draconic being exclaimed as he held a giant feather up from a box, the tied-up Irken nearby gulping as his friends were held in place. "Prepare to enter the unbearable world of COOCHY-COOCHY-COO!"
PRESENT...
"ANNNNYHOW, the next was the entity of Passion, Chulainn. He's turned all nasty and dark when he became "Rage". Frequency went on with a sad expression flickering across his face. "Poor dude. Then we got the pretty lil' entity of Hope, Psyche. She's cute, in a weird way." He added, tilting his head to the side. "Kinda...looks like a butterfly. I think she IS that, a big, alien butterfly."
"And I spent many years conversing with the Entity of Love before I came here." Mr. Thildari explained, putting one hand to his chest. "Jourmungdr sent me here to the Base Earth to keep an eye on the planet and those within. It said this place was too important to be ignored. I've been keeping up a guise, with the Entity taking my place back at my home planet without anybody noticing."
"This world...this MUDBALL is...actually important?" Zim scratched his head. "How?"
"EVERYTHING in the multiverse stems from the material found in this base Earth." Skoodge interjected. "Remember when he talked about the "parking lot" analogy? Think of your world as an original model of car, and every other car in the lot is a rip-off or copy of that original." Skoodge went on as visible models of the many parallel Earths floated around.
"Without this world, there won't BE any other parallel Earths. No more stories of Zim and Dib and Gaz and GIR. This world is the cornerstone upon which the multiverse of Universe I-Z spins..." Miyu went on, gesticulating in the air. "Within this world...there's the POTENTIAL to remake the world that was tragically lost."
"They want to bring it back. If one tried to sacrifice enough of this world, Earth B-S will return. The people of this world will be, well...they get folded into the historical fabric. Become reborn anew, I guess you could say..." Frequency admitted.
"I'll DIE?"
"Answer: You'll become BETTER." Miyu informed him waving a clawed finger in the air. "You will reach your physical and mental peak, and will become a being both feared, loved and admired across the universe. And it is not just you. GIR, Minimoose, they'll be better too. People will respect you, Zim, be amazed at what you've become. I would never not lie..."
She gently took his shoulder, smiling at him as the visor on her helmet lifted up, and Zim's eyes widened in surprise. "To my own father."
"I...I need to...think about this." Zim mumbled.
"Statement: I shall do you one better." Miyu informed him as he pocketed his ring. "I will take you to your wife. I think you'll be more than pleasantly surprised."
Zim's eyes bugged out, mouth flopping open. "Zim has a WHAT?"

thanks @pretend-im-normal for this set of questions!
i shall start with a christmas ask game (yes i know it’s january 28th) created by none other than archie’s husband
1. Their favorite Christmas tradition
I think for Archie it has to be baking christmas cookies. He loves doing it even if it’s just him, but especially doing it with the people he loves. He takes the decorating process way too seriously (this may or may not be inspired by my real life) and all the bois pitch in and reginald’s are always disturbing but annoyingly delicious and dorian’s are always a little goth and octavius’s are fabulous and archie keeps telling him that louboutins are not a christmas item but octavius insists that since he asked for them for christmas they should count, and archie loves him so he lets it slide. Eustace very carefully decorates and does his best and every time you eat one you can tell it’s full of love. Jasper wants everything to be as colorful as possible and he covers them in sprinkles. And nathaniel, lovely nathaniel, can’t decorate for shit but he just has fun with it and laughs the whole time and that makes archie’s chest feel tight for reasons he can’t explain until later. And then Archie and Nate finally start dating and during their first Christmas, aside from the bois cookie night, they do one of their own and Archie shows Nate how to decorate the way he does and Nate can’t quite get there but he’s following each direction with fervor and they look pretty good and he’s so proud of himself and Archie sneaks mistletoe into the kitchen and kisses him and now they do it every year, and every year Nate gets a little better. And eventually they have kids and they join the tradition (even the annual cookie decorating night with the bois), and Cam is fantastic at cookie decorating and Ben eats the dough and Archie swats him teasingly with a wooden spoon every time and Evie mixes icing colors cause she’s great at art and Nate washes dishes and makes a valiant effort and they dance around the kitchen and sing christmas music playing from Archie’s phone and he smiles the whole time and every year, he pulls out the mistletoe and kisses his husband and the kids go from thinking it’s cute to thinking it’s gross and embarrassing and all the way back to thinking it’s adorable when they’re old enough and one year Evie snaps a picture of it and it’s on the Christmas card the next year. Christmas is his favorite time of the year, and cookie days just feel like this magic untouchable place where he’s with his family and doing what he loves and to him, it is Christmas personified.
2. Their favorite Christmas song
It’s very hard to narrow down, so I’ll give a top three: All I Want for Christmas Is You by Mariah Carey, Last Christmas by Wham!, and Mary Did You Know by Pentatonix.
3. Their least favorite Christmas song
This will not come as a shock, because well... I’m Archie. It’s Michael Buble’s version of Santa Baby. He loves most of Michael’s Christmas music, but in his words, Michael Buble “needs to man up and be willing to fuck Santa or don’t bother singing the song.” He just made it weird by having it be Santa Buddy and Santa Pally. And Archie loves this song. He tweets Michael Buble about it every Christmas, begging him to erase it from existence.
4. Their general feelings about Christmas
Archie goes feral for Christmas. He loves everything about it. Fun, family, love, festivity, good music, good food, an excuse to bake 24/7, baby Jesus, buying presents, getting presents. Archie prides himself on being the Christmas Bitch. He’s especially fantastic at gift-giving.
5. Their favorite Christmas treat
Octavius’s homemade pizelles dipped in spiked hot chocolate.
6. The best gift they ever received
When Evie is like 20, she gives him a scrapbook for Christmas. It’s filled with pictures of Archie, Nathaniel, the kids, and the other bois over the years. Every page has Taylor Swift lyrics that relate to the images and stories, as well as messages she’s written and cute captions. In addition to pictures, there’s little mementos like ticket stubs or receipts or notes she’s collected from her dad and her aunts and uncles and scattered throughout the book are cutout lines from a printed out version of the poem he wrote for his and Nathaniel’s anniversary. Archie cries for like 3 hours.
7. The worst gift they ever received
One year, Jessica gets him in the PTA secret santa, and she gets him a few workout shirts and an expensive bottle of red wine. He’s so offended. To an outsider, this may seem like a nice gift, but it’s very clear that she got him the shirt because she disapproves of his crop tops. And she knows full well that he doesn’t really like red wine. He’s a white wine bitch. She knows. It’s been discussed.
8. The best gift they ever gave
He likes to joke that the best gift he’s ever given is the supplementary bundle of “free sex” coupons he gave to Nathaniel their first Christmas together (he also got him a fluffy bathrobe, a playlist of songs that remind him of nate, an anthology of queer writing and letters from historical figures, and a trip to color me mine, don’t worry). But the real best gift he ever gave was years later, when they’ve been married for 5 years. He surprises Nathaniel with a trip to New York, where he’s also gotten them tickets to a revival of Hamilton, they go on a tour of diner breakfasts, and then have a shopping and spa day. And then he has them get dressed up but Nathaniel doesn’t know why and after they go to a fancy dinner, he takes Nathaniel to the Woolworth building on Broadway (where the ball scene from Enchanted takes place), and the whole place has been rented out there’s the actual singer from the movie and they slow dance in the romantic lighting to So Close (their wedding song) and it’s endlessly romantic and both of them are crying a lot little.
9. The worst gift they ever gave
No. Archie has never given a bad gift in his life.
10. How they decorate their house
dude. DECK THE FUCKING HALLS. There are two trees. One is picture perfect and looks straight out of a hallmark movie, and the other one is covered in popcorn strings and tacky ornaments from movies and shows and homemade ones by the kids and Ben always puts too much tinsel on it and Cam eats the candy canes so it’s a little wonky and that one is not-so-secretly Archie’s favorite. Beautiful wreaths on the doors and windows outside. Beautiful real-looking garland and berries and red ribbon and little bells decorate the banisters and staircases. There are lights everywhere. Christmas paintings. Outside is decked the fuck out in lights of all colors, he loves the icicles, no blow ups, but he does get a moving reindeer made of lights, and it’s a whole winter wonderland. Lots of seasonal scented candles. White lights on the mantle. Always a fire burning in the fireplace. A beautiful handmade and well-lit nativity scene. Cinnamon scented pinecones everywhere. Santa, reindeer, and snowman figures are in a lot of places. He puts mistletoe above every doorway, molding, entryway, high cabinet, or anywhere he can hang it because the man loves love and he wants as many excuses as he can get to kiss his husband.
11. Their favorite Christmas memory
On Evie’s first Christmas, she gets all fussy and cries a lot while they’re at Octavius and Dorian’s for Christmas Eve and so they go home early and they put her to bed but it’s only like 8pm. So they have their own end to the night and it’s just them in their pajamas, watching The Holiday and Love Actually while drinking tea and they just cuddle up under a blanket. Archie gives Nate forehead kisses and they fall asleep curled up on the couch halfway through The Year Without a Santa Claus. And he wakes up and Nate isn’t there anymore and he finds him holding Evie in her rocking chair humming Christmas songs to her and he just watches from the doorway until Nate finally looks up and smiles at him. And then they get everything ready cause everyone they know is coming to their house for Christmas and Evie wears an adorable Christmas onesie and they all open presents but. Those like 12 hours. Cuddling with Nathaniel and watching christmas romcoms and waking up to see his husband rocking their beautiful baby daughter to christmas songs. Yeah. That one’s his favorite.
12. Their least favorite Christmas memory
When he was like 12 (back in the regency days) he got sick on Christmas and couldn’t go to any of the events or parties and he hated it. But other than that,,, there’s a reason Christmas is his favorite time of year. It’s magic for him.
13. if/Where they travel for the holidays
Nah. He always stays home. He’s the Christmas Hostess With The Mostest. Always home for Christmas. He, Nathaniel, and the kids do go to Disney World for the week before/including New Year’s one year though.
14. Who they spend the holidays with
Obviously: Nathaniel, Octavius, Dorian, Reginald, Jasper, Eustace, Tyler, (and eventually) Evie, Ben, and Cam, and Eustace and Tyler’s kids. Gigi, Chloe, Jackie, and Liza, switch off every year whether they’re with family or the bois. Lynn and Suzanne always come to Christmas Eve and stop by on Christmas day before going to see their families. Every once in a while, Reginald brings a Doug who had nowhere else to go.
15. All of their Christmas traditions (not just their favorite XD)
jesus. well some have been listed. Cookies, decorating, hanging mistletoe fucking everywhere. he starts listening to Christmas music on November 1st. Snowball fight with the whole crew. Snowman contest with the whole crew. Getting drunk and watching Hallmark/Netflix Christmas movies. Making cinnamon rolls for christmas morning. wearing an entire christmas wardrobe in the month of december. Christmas treats at the bakery. Looking hot at Nathaniel’s work Christmas party. Wrapping presents for weeks after the kids go to bed. Making the world’s best hot cocoa. Bugging Octavius for his pizelle recipe (he won’t give it up). tweeting one direction and begging them to reunite for a Christmas album. Rewatching all the holiday seasons of the Great British Bake Off. Making roast for Christmas dinner. Making mulled wine at some point. Game day with the crew the day after Christmas. Writing Nate a poem every Christmas they’re usually really bad . eating one candy cane per season out of obligation and then going back to his hatred of mint. buying a million seasonal items at Bath and Body Works. watching It’s a Wonderful Life with Nathaniel on Christmas Eve Eve. Dressing his kids in christmas pajamas. That’s all I can think of for now.
okay i’m finally done this took me almost two hours oh my god. happy frat boi-ing.

Supernova: Chapter 6
Well, here I am. 300 points in the bug off later, but I’m here.
Didn’t have a whole lot of luck writing this chunk. I’m kinda stuck. If I don’t get unstuck, I might consider taking July off to relax my brain. We’ll see how the rest of the month goes.
Next chapter, if it happens, will go up on July 11. If that changes, I’ll let you know. Thanks for reading, see you when I see you. Wash your hands, wear a mask.
“What did you see?”
PT's tone could have melted steel. Angel felt the sting even as he backed up. Right then, his partner was reminding him of a lioness circling her injured cub to keep the scavengers at bay. Only thing was, he wasn't a hyena – he was just the confused meerkat checking out what the hell was going on.
Ok, that metaphor got away from him, but he was a psych major. English wasn't his specialty.
“I saw a bright light and your niece take out some weird ass guys.” He kept his hands held up in the classic defensive position. It was doubtful that she could have hurt him if she tried but he wanted to make sure she knew he was on her side. They were partners, but there was a difference between work friends and you know, friends.
And some days he wasn't sure what he was.
He watched her eyebrows knit and her look didn't get any friendlier. “Cut the bull, you saw her didn't you?”
Angel could have lied – it would have been a lot easier. Problem was, PT would've called him on it. She wasn't psychic, but she had a way of knowing when someone was trying to make something up. No doubt it made her one hell of an aunt, but he was sweating under the helmet like he was in the fire instead of standing next to it.
“She... I'm guessing she's a Ball Drop?”
Strangely, his partner snorted as she continued to guard her niece. “You could say that.”
The snark disappeared from her voice as she carefully placed a hand on Andy's back, just below where her shoulder blades would have been if not for the freaking massive crystals jutting out of strategically placed holes in a very worn t-shirt. Yep, they were attached alright. But why there? It wasn't a good way to check for-
Shit, she wasn't breathing.
“PT, we got to get her to a - “
She held up a hand. “Wouldn't help. We need to get her to Bear Paw labs. They're the only ones who know how to handle her.”
Her voice turned soft as she nudged the... well, person? … below her. “Come on, Andy. Time to wake up. It's too hot out here and I broke some ribs.”
Personally, Angel would've thought the touch way too light to do anything, especially to someone who looked so solid. After all, the damn ground shook when she fell. Yet he watched, face blank, as she started to move. Then she sat up.
Now... that was a face not even a mother could love.
“What happened?”
PT sighed in relief as she leaned on her niece's arm – probably to help with the broken ribs and various other injuries. “You scared me there, Andy. I thought you were down for the count. How are you feeling?”
“You know I don't feel, Aunt Mi-” Words died as Andy glanced down at herself. “Oh shit, the necklace isn't working!”
It caught the light of the fire behind them when she moved. Angel couldn't help but notice the flash of orange among At first he had just thought it was another crystal that came from being so messed up, but he realized it was on a thick chain that she wore around her neck. The light also reflected a thin, long scratch along the surface. Any more, and it could break.
“I think you need to get a new necklace. Looks like you cracked it when you fell.”
Angel didn't mean to talk without thinking; sometimes with how fast his brain worked, it just happened. Usually the end effect was that he got slapped or somebody called him an asshole, but none of that happened.
Andy's face didn't change. He got the feeling it couldn't – he didn't recognize any visible muscles on the somewhat shiny surface. Her mouth did open though, and it exposed way too many dark blue teeth that reminded him of rock candy crystals, except way more sharp. He took a step back; psychic attacks he could manage, but biting was another story.
Luckily she didn't bite him. She didn't do anything but stare.
“That's your partner.”
Her tone was as flat as her face as she turned to PT. “And he saw me.”
“That he did.” PT looked as though she sucked a lemon as she glowered at him. “And if he knows what's good for him, he's going to keep his damn mouth shut about things.”
His hands went back up as he took a step back. Angel soon regretted that too – it brought him a little closer to the fire. When it came to elements, it wasn't one of his favorites. Something about the energy made him dizzy.
Or, you know, it was really freaking hot and he was wearing a leather jacket in the middle of summer. But nah, it was totally the energy.
'Earth to SR, did you find them or what?! I can't hold the cameras for much longer!'
Angel snapped back to reality as he pressed the side of his helmet. “Yeah... I found them. They're both alive.”
'And the ones PT were tracking?'
Sweat trickled down the psychic's neck as he glanced around at the remnants. “Dead. PT's hurt, building's on fire. We need to get out of here before the cops show up.”
The words settled over him heavily as he glanced over at PT and her niece. Despite looking like death itself in blue, she... well he got the feeling she was more scared of him than he was of her. It wasn't in her body language or tone, but he just... felt it. Sometimes those things just happened to get across, signals be damned.
He couldn't blame her. No way it was easy being that blue.
'I don't have the niece's DNA, so you're going to have to get out of there the old fashioned way. I can at least track you and knock out the cameras, though. You might want to hurry, I'm picking up some unfamiliar radio signals hitting the area. I don't think just the cops are coming.'
Angel shut off his com as he turned to the small family in front of him. “We need to go. People-”
PT finished for him, already starting to limp ahead. “FBI, probably.”
“I'm sorry, Aunt Miri...” Andy looked the least bit like a scared kid, but that was what he saw then as she helped her aunt walk. “This is all my fault...”
The old hero didn't seem the least bit bothered as she leaned on her much taller niece. “We can talk about that later. Right now, we need to get you to the lab before they pick you up.”
Suddenly, two light blue eyes tinted violet by the flames were on him. If looks would kill Angel would have been six feet under. PT was daring him to do anything other than follow her at that point, so he wordlessly fell into step. Even injured, her acid could do some damage.
But... where the hell were they going to go?
---
Andy might not have felt pain, but her body was ringing.
“Keep this over your face until we get there.” Miri threw over her jacket, which she pulled on with some difficulty. “Is Scanner blocking the cameras or what?”
Sky Rider was behind them, and his body language suggested he wasn't exactly comfortable with this arrangement. That made two of them – she wanted him gone. She might not have been able to see his expression, but... he saw her.
He saw her face.
“Yeah, he's tracking us.” He sounded even younger up close. Maybe he was her age – or approximately the same age. With how she was, that sort of thing was hard to figure out. Most of the times she just shrugged her shoulders. “Are you gonna be ok, PT? You look like shit.”
Her aunt laughed, but it was the way she did when  she was trying to look tough. She was holding her side, and there was a limp to her step. “I'm not going to let a few broken ribs stop me, Rider. Not when the FBI are on our heels.”
Just hearing that made her insides go cold. Andy was trying to stay as calm as possible, but it was failing badly. She could feel the bubbles inside her, popping as she walked. The more upset she got, the bigger the bubbles would be. Those were the worst when they popped – stuff splashed up.
It was probably her version of throwing up, only it was probably more dangerous. After all, she had melted concrete once when she was 6.
“Andy, focus on me. It's going to be ok.”
Aunt Miri was in front of her now, eyes calm but still full of pain. She was hurting bad, but was trying to be tough. That's how she always was in a crisis. In a way, it was admirable. At the same time... she broke some of her ribs.
So she nodded. “Alright. We should get going then.”
“You two still haven't answered me why the FBI is after you. Is it because of your powers? You get those from the Ball Drop or something?”
Sky Rider was speaking directly to her now, instead of her aunt. He was pretty close too – to the point she realized he was a little shorter than he looked on TV. The psychic probably came up a little below her shoulder. Aunt Miri was around there too, but... it was different. Aura or something? Presence? She could never remember the right word.
Still... he was way too close for comfort and then some.
Andy took a half step back. “Word to the wise, don't stand so close. The last guy who tried it almost lost an eye.”
“Oh, right... the spikes.” Sky Rider backed up into appropriate range. “Yeah, I really don't want to test if those go through my visor or not.”
Smart man; no wonder he survived working with her aunt for so long.
“If you two are done sizing each other up, we need to go.” Miri's voice was as short as her mood as they finally left the yard that contained the remains of the two men and whatever had caused them to mutate. “Sky Rider, tell Scanner I took a sample they can analyze when we get back. There was some sort of distillery there before everything went to hell.”
“Can do, PT. They should be putting up a shield soon so nobody notices us.”
Andy would've laughed if she had the ability to do so. Nobody noticing them was one hell of a tall order, given she was walking with a jacket over her head. Add in the fact her aunt was limping behind the guy in full motorcycle gear with no bike, and they made a motley little parade as they snuck along the small back roads that would take them to the lab. They'd be lucky if they didn't wind up on Twitter or something.
Her hand still felt funny, though. It looked ok when she loosened her grip, but something still rang through her flat palm and two fingers. Maybe it was how a tuning fork felt when you hit it against something – her sister had used one of those when she was younger. Her hand sort of looked like one if you took the appendage that could've been a thumb out of the equation, so maybe it was some sort of crossover?
She doubted it could tune anything, though. She was tone deaf.
“You holding up ok, Andy?”
Miri was starting to sound worse as they began to ease back into the city. Her hand was still pressed to her side, but she wasn't bleeding externally. Inside, she was probably a mess. Luckily there were doctors for that sort of thing.
Damn, she was tough for someone so squishy.
“Yeah... just not used to seeing this from the ground I guess.” She looked around at the streets, still surprisingly light of people. “This is my first time outside and all.”
Next to her, her aunt shook her head. “You're right. Surprised I forgot about that. Guess that whole disobeying me thing kind of made me numb to this big life experience of yours.”
There was no bite to her words, either because she didn't have the energy to pull through or she thought the rules were just as dumb. Andy was going to hope it was the latter as she edged closer to the side of the building. There were less people there.
“I'm not going to apologize for helping you, even if I am under house arrest for the rest of my life.”
Miri smirked at that. “You sound like Cass. I wouldn't have expected you to anyway. It's only natural a kid your age starts to get a little stir-crazy.”
Something warm stirred in Andy's stomach and spread to her entire body. Her next few steps were lighter. People often talked about having a spring to their step, but it was the first time she had ever felt it personally.
No wonder they liked it so much – this felt great.
Sadly, that feeling didn't last long. Andy's bubble disappeared with a pop as she glanced ahead. Someone ducked behind a corner just as she had spotted them, going into far too dark an alley for such a clean suit. They were speaking too – it was too low for her companions to pick up, but she heard it just fine.
“Target spotted. They're in route to the lab.”
Acquire them before they cross the threshold. The target's lost to us if they breech.”
Andy stopped moving. This caused both heroes to look back at her – or at least she thought Sky Rider was. With the whole full face mask thing, it was hard to tell. Miri, though, was an open book. Her brows furrowed as she pulled both her niece and her partner aside to a small alley out of view.
Sweat was still dripping down her aunt's brow. It was a miracle she was standing. “You saw something?”
“Heard it. There's two ahead of us... I think they're calling for backup.”
At least Sky Rider didn't question it. Instead, Andy felt a hum as he powered up beside her. She wasn't quite sure if she liked it or not, but it felt... confident, she supposed. That was probably a good quality for a psychic to have when it came to their abilities.
“How much further do you need to go to get there? I can buy you some time.”
Miri scowled – though that may have been from the pain. “You're lucky if they don't try to shoot you if you try anything. They'll be prepared.”
“Long as it gets you guys where you're going, just remember to bail me out.” He nodded to Andy. “So, how much time do you need?”
Something about that confidence settled her insides. Andy nodded back, then hazarded a glance around the alley. The agents were still there, waiting. She could just see the top of the lab building, though. Most people probably couldn't, though.
It was...
“Ten minutes, maybe fifteen with how Aunt Miri's ribs are holding up.”
Miri scoffed and gave her a light pat on the shoulder, right above her big spike. “I've had worse. Make it ten.”
There was no arguing with her aunt when she got like that, Andy knew that. So she resigned herself to her fate. After that, it was pretty much set – she saw her temporary teammate's visor glow as he made it to full strength, and then the energy tingled as it shot out. Judging from how Miri didn't react, she either couldn't see it or was so used to it that it barely registered.
Superheroes- they were good at controlling their reactions. Made it a real pain to figure out what they were thinking.
“Their minds are fogged up right now. If you hurry up, they won't notice you.” There was a strain to his voice as he clenched a gloved fist. “You better bring her back to meet us later, PT. I think we've earned that much.”
Miri rolled her eyes as she adjusted her jacket to hide her damaged side. “Sure, if we make it out of this alive we'll have a nice meet and greet.”
Then her aunt turned to her. “Well, let's get going. We've only got eight minutes if we factor in how out of shape this guy is.”
Sky Rider didn't protest, but that was probably because he had to focus. Andy got the feeling she had witnessed some sort of inside joke between them. It didn't matter. After she adjusted her jacket, off they went down the street.
“Is anyone there? Report back, why aren't you responding! Confirm siting of the target!”
The one agent's earpiece was going a mile a minute, and at one point they got close enough that Andy was pretty sure even her aunt could hear it. She tensed, but the stupefied humans didn't react to their presence. Instead, they just stared into space. Brain fog was a good word for it, honestly.
She didn't have time to appreciate their efforts. The energy wasn't as shiny as it had been when Sky Rider had sent it out. So, Andy started walking faster. Next to her, her aunt grunted and fell into step at her side. They were probably going a little too fast to be casual, but there wasn't much time.
“Why are you speeding up?”
“It's not strong enough. I think-” And out of the corner of her eye, another flash of light obliterated Sky Rider's. The agents' eyes came back into focus, and their forms snapped to full rigidity. “They have one too!”
After that, it was a run as she heard the shouting behind her. The now focused agents were in full chase as they bolted the last hundred yards to the lab. She could see the gate, with a very confused guard on the other side. They had their radio out to no doubt call the cops, but it wouldn't have done them any good.
Feet, don't fail her now...
Andy grabbed her aunt at the last moment and yanked her as hard as she could. Miri went skidding across the gate line and fell hard on her ass, swearing. She started swearing even more when a loud crack resounded from behind Andy. Something hard hit her in the back and propelled her forward, and then another.
She didn't see the flattened bullets until she stumbled over the gate line.
“Shit, I think they shot me.” That was really all Andy could think of as the surroundings turned to pure chaos. Her aunt was being helped to her feet by someone, and the guard was nudging Andy towards the entrance. There was another guard now, pointing a very nasty looking gun at the agents. Right then, she was pretty sure she was in the middle of a pissing contest over custody.
Oh well... the agents couldn't do anything. Once she was across the line, the lab had custody. It was kind of hard to mess with a government order.
As she headed inside, Andy stole one last glance outside to the wide world. One of the agents was talking into their earpiece, while another was doubling back – no doubt to look for their accomplice. The door shut behind her, and she saw no more.
Hopefully... wherever he was, Sky Rider was ok. She kind of owed him one.

This is purely for fun. Comments and reblogs always appreciated. If you would like to be tagged, please let me know.
Even after your late night out, you still had trouble sleeping in. It was seven in the morning on a Saturday and you couldn’t sleep another wink. Pulling the corner of the quilt off your body, being careful not to jilt your ankle, you gingerly eased out of bed. I can always take a nap later. Your stomach grumbled alerting you that it also did not sleep in on the weekends. After fixing yourself a bowl of cereal and plopping down on your couch, you turned on your television. Saturday mornings were meant for local news and breakfast. One of your little pleasures was watching the news even if they did repeat the stories every fifteen minutes.
After breakfast, you decided to get back in bed to rest and elevate your ankle. You had a couple of texts from Victoria that you responded to. She was mostly just asking how last night was. You kept it vague but promised to call her later. Seeing that it was after ten back in Minnesota, you decided to give your sister in law Vanessa a call. Even if Caleb was no longer with you, his sister would always be your sister. Besides, Vanessa had given you your eight-year-old niece Abby who you adored and probably missed the most. Vanessa is the older sister you never had. You were an only child, so you longed to have that friend that you could share all your secrets with and know that they would always be there. When you learned that Caleb had a sister, you begged to meet her right away. Vanessa, being five years older than you and Caleb, often took on the motherly role. Not that she meant to, but she was married, had a house, had an established career, she couldn’t help herself but give out advice. You were each other’s rock when Caleb passed. She and her husband Brent made up their spare bedroom for you and you stayed with them for weeks. It was too hard to sleep in yours and Caleb’s bed. You’re still not sure how you managed to after moving back home.
After the line rang a few times, your niece Abby picked up the phone. “Aunt Y/N!” She all but screamed into the phone.
Yanking the phone slightly away from your ear in case an additional scream was coming. “Yes, Abby, it’s me. I’ve missed you oh so much. Do you miss me?”
“Everyday. When are you coming home?” She asked.
Oh, she breaks my heart.
“Not for a while yet Bug. I promise you’ll be the first to know when I do.“
A small huff is given. “Ohhhh kay.”
“Could I talk to your mom please?”
“Mommmm! Aunt Y/N is on the phone!” She yells as you once again pull the phone away from your ear.
There’s several moments of silence. It’s evident that she’s abandoned the phone on the counter.
“Hey you.” Vanessa said.
“I can’t believe you guys still have a land line and you actually answer it.” You tease.
“Why don’t you just call my cell phone like a normal person?” She answers back. It’s a game you both play every time you call.
“And miss the chance to talk to my niece, no way! She never answers your cell.”
“If she didn’t manage to drop or lose the last two iPhones I’ve had, she would be allowed to answer it.” She said with a laugh.
“Oh boy. I do miss the adventures of the O’Brien family.” You sighed to yourself mostly. “How’s Brent?”
“He’s doing really well. Busy at work mostly these days. I don’t think I told you, but he got that promotion.” You can tell she’s beaming and you honestly couldn’t happier for them. “He’s taken on more clients so unfortunately he’s gone earlier in the morning. That just means more bus stop duty for me.”
“Vanessa that is great! Not the bus stop duty, but great for Brent. He works his ass off and deserves the success. How are you though? I miss you so much.”
“I’m good. Really good. Of course, I miss you as well. Tell me about California living. I bet you’re sad you moved during the winter and missed most of the snow.”
“Ha Ha. Nah, that’s one thing I don’t miss. I surely don’t miss the salt ring around my jeans from walking in the snow. California is nice. I did underestimate the difficulty of making friends as an adult.” You said with a laugh. “My boss is great and we’ll hangout eventually, when we both aren’t so busy. I told you about that guy at that park, right?” You of course left off his last name. You don’t want the people back home thinking you meet celebrities every day just by walking around LA.
“Yeah. Did something happen there?” A suggestive tone to her voice.
“No. No, nothing like that.”
“Boo.” She said with a little laugh.
“As I was saying. Chris, the guy from the park, he had me over last night with some of his friends and we played some games. It was a lot of fun. I have plans for a girl’s night in a couple of weeks with his friends Emma and Erika.”
“That’s great babe. You deserve this new life. You deserve fun.” Wiping a tear that slowly rolled down your cheek, you smiled.
“Thanks, Vanessa. I did actually call for a reason.”
“Oh yeah? What’s that.”
“What do you say about a girl’s trip of our own? Why don’t you and Abby come out next month. My place is small, but you and Abby can take my bed and I’ll take the couch for a few days. And then I think we should get a nice hotel room for a couple of nights and get spa treatments. I’m sure Abby would love the pampering.” You asked.
“You know your niece too well. Yeah, let me check schedules. Abby’s got a Friday off for a teacher workshop, so I could pull her out for an extra day or two.”
“Yay!” You squealed. OK, just let me know. I’ll have to work out the time off with Victoria, but I know it will pan out. I’m just so excited!”
She laughed. “Love you Y/N. We’ll talk soon.”
“Bye sis. Love you too.”
Shortly after your call, you fell back to sleep for a couple of hours. Not having anything to do for the day and since you were already laying in your big comfy bed, it wasn’t hard to do.
Nonstop ringing interrupted your slumber. Groaning, you reached for your cell with your eyes still closed. “Hello?”
“Y/N, where exactly do you live?” Asked a male’s voice.
“Huh?” Taking the phone away from your ear to see who it was. Chris? Chris is calling you? “Chris?”
“Yeah, it’s me. Where do you live?”
You gave him the street address and told him your entrance was in the back upstairs. “Why though?”
“I’ll see you soon.” He said and then hung up.
What the fuck?
You’re still in your pajamas and you haven’t showered. You know what your hair looks like without even looking. Did you even brush your teeth?! Deciding that was top priority, you stood up, grabbed your crutches and went into your bathroom to brush your teeth. You then attempted to smooth down your hair. Where’s my bra? Making your way back to the living room/bedroom, you scrambled to find a bra. Remembering you tossed it on your couch when you got home last night, you dropped the crutches and grabbed the bra quickly slipping it on. Moments later there was a knock on your door. Hopping on one foot while grabbing onto anything you could in the apartment to steady yourself, you made it to the door successfully. On the other side was a smiling Chris holding several takeout bags.
“Chris.” You said breathlessly. Get a hold of yourself Y/N. “What are you doing here?”
“Lunch. Obviously.” He said while walking past you as you shuffled to the side. He was wearing a pair of loose light blue jeans, a gray tee with a blue jacket over it. His hair was a little disheveled, but almost like it was purposely done so. And of course, still sporting that gorgeous beard. You sighed, you actually sighed out loud.
“O-okay. Um, but why?” You asked.
“Well, you’re injured and I didn’t want you to be on your feet anymore than you have to.” He smiled while setting the bags on your glass coffee table.
“Are others coming?” Peeking out the door to see if anyone was behind him. “That looks like quite a lot of food.”
He sat down on your couch and started pull out paper plates and plastic silverware. “Well, you see, I wasn’t sure what you liked so I stopped at a few places. I figured whatever we don’t eat, you could have for dinner and maybe lunch tomorrow.”
You gingerly made your way to the couch and sat next to him. “I don’t know what to say. This is really sweet. But just so you know, I have a ton of food in the fridge and can totally make something to eat. Or there’s always Uber Eats.” You said with a smirk. “But thank you, this is really nice.”
“But you shouldn’t have to. I’m sure you’re exhausted from being on your feet last night. It’s no big deal. I was hungry anyway.” Chris said with a shrug.
“Well, what do we have here?” You said while looking down and gesturing with your hand.
“Only the finest cuisine. Lemon chicken with white rice and a couple of eggrolls. A couple of slices of pepperoni pizza, New York style of course.”
“Of course.”
“Chicken burrito bowl. Chili cheese fries and a cheeseburger. And a grilled chicken Caesar salad. You know, just in case.”
“That is quite the menu. How many stops did you have to make?”
He waved his hand dismissing your question. “So, what will it be my lady?”
You gave a shy smile. “An eggroll and a slice of pizza.”
He let out a good chuckle and passed you the food. You both dug in sneaking glances his way while you ate in silence. You noticed he did the same. When you were done, he took your trash and walked to the kitchen to throw it in the bin. He then put the remaining food in your refrigerator. “Are you sure you don’t want to bring anything home with you?”
“Nah, I got it for you. Now you don’t have to cook.” Again, throwing you that winning smile.
He sat back down on your couch angling his body toward you so that his knee was partially laying on the couch. You had your ankle on the coffee table on top of a throw pillow.
“I just wanted to make sure you were alright. Not just your ankle, but with what you shared last night.”
Oh, that’s right. I said it. Out loud.
“Yeah. I mean, it’s been two years. I guess it’s not something that you’re ever good with, but life moves on and you just try your best every day. I’m trying every day.”
“Do you want to talk about it all? Could you tell me about him? If you want to. You don’t at all. You can just tell me to leave and I will totally understand.” Said Chris.
“No, I don’t mind. Caleb, my husband, he was my best friend. We met at work when we were both just a year out of college. We ended up in the same training class. I thought he was really cute, so I kept sitting at his table hoping he would notice me.” You said smiling at the memory. “But Caleb was so serious. I don’t think he even noticed me the first two days.” Chris chuckled.
“I remember he had a yellow highlighter and a stack of pens. He would practically write down word for word what the trainer said in his notebook and when we were on a break, he would highlight most of what was written. On the third day, I stood up, walked right up to him, tapped his shoulder and told him to come with me to get coffee. I didn’t ask, I told him.” Chuckling lightly, you looked up to see Chris have a warm smile on his face.
“What did he say?” Chris asked.
“He said OK, stood up, and followed me to the coffee machine. He asked for my number at the end of the day and we were inseparable going forward. He was the kind of guy who was meant to be a husband. He proposed after a year and we were married a year later. We bought a house right away where he made friends with all the guys in the neighborhood. He’d have them over for beers and football, and cookouts. He was the social one in our relationship. There was always an event he was dragging me too. Caleb really got me out of my bubble. And he was an awesome uncle to our niece Abby. She’s so spoiled and that’s mostly thanks to him. He was a really great guy.”
Chris had his hand on your knee and was rubbing it in a soothing way. “He sounds like he was a great man. Thanks for sharing that with me. But, honestly Y/N, I think you are so brave to be starting over in this crazy place. I consider you a friend and I want you to talk to me if you ever need to vent or cry or whatever. I’m here.”
You were touched. Here’s this man who you barely know and he was already becoming a great friend.
“Thanks, Chris. I really appreciate that.”
Chris left a little later and you dragged yourself back to bed. He sent you a goodnight text that night and a good morning text the next morning. That afternoon you sent him a text that you missed Dodger. Yeah, it had only been a day and a half, but you really wished you had a dog to cuddle with. Especially since you were stuck at home.
Chris: I see how it is. You only like me for my dog.
Y/N: Without Dodger, we wouldn’t have met. He brought us together.
Y/N: I’m just jealous you have an automatic cuddle buddy. Do you rent him out?
Chris: I’m pretty sure Dodger would rather be cuddling with you.
Your ankle was feeling better but you still stuck to staying in and using the crutches. You had showered that morning and actually put on real clothes. Well, a knee length flowy dress. You didn’t want to deal with pulling your ankle through pant legs if you could help it. You had just put in your favorite movie, You’ve Got Mail in the DVD player and sat on your couch. Yes, you still owned a DVD player. As the saying goes, if it isn’t broke…As Meg Ryan was getting charmed by Tom Hanks in her book store, you heard a knock on your door. You paused the movie, got up being sure to grab your crutches first and walked to the door. You heard a bark and a smile instantly hit your face. You opened the door to see Chris and Dodger standing there.
“Dodger! You’re here! Come here boy.” You placed one of the crutches against the wall and patted your thigh. Dodger walked up to you and licked your hand a few times before accepting you petting him.
“You know, I come all the way here.”
“Two miles.” You interrupted.
“I drive a full two miles and Dodger gets all the love. No, ‘Hi Chris! I can’t believe you are here!’ Where’s the warm welcome?”
“Hi Chris! I’m so glad you are here! Come here boy.” You said while patting your leg.
Chris let out a loud laugh. He closed your door and walked up to you. You gave him a one-armed hug.
“What are you watching?” He asked.
“Only my favorite movie, You’ve Got Mail. Want to watch?”
“Well, I did bring Dodger here for cuddles, I suppose we can watch while you two cuddle.”
You started on the couch, but frankly your couch wasn’t the largest for two adults with a dog who liked to spread out. You and Dodger moved to your bed while Chris stayed on the couch watching the movie.
“You know, you can still see the screen from the bed. You’re more than welcome to come lay with us and watch.” You were honestly offering in a friendly way. Dodger would be between you both and it was easier to chat when your next to a person and they aren’t having to turn their head to see you from the couch. Yep, a strictly friend like way.
Chris hesitated for a moment. Scratching the back of his head and looking back at you and Dodger. “Alright.” He said while getting up and walking toward your bed. You scooted over and pulled Dodger toward you making room for Chris. He plopped down on the bed and adjusted your pillows making himself comfortable. You both laid in silence watching the movie except for when Chris would let out loud chuckles and an abrupt “oh no” here and there.
When the movie was over, you shut off the TV with the remote and just talked. You talked about your families, vacations you took when growing up, your first cars, and pets. During a few minutes of comfortable silence, you had fallen asleep. Before you knew it, your cellphone alarm was going off indicating it was time to get ready for work. Opening your eyes, you almost tumbled out of bed. Dodger and Chris were asleep next to you. Had your life been a rom-com, his arm would have been thrown over your stomach and your legs would be tangled together. There most certainly wouldn’t have been a dog between you. You were never the snuggle in bed while you slept type anyway. Sure, a little cuddling before sleep was nice, but then you wanted your space. Hence why you had a queen-sized mattress just for you.
He really is beautiful. Why can’t I be that pretty while I sleep? I mean, I could take or leave the snores he’s putting out.
You got up as quietly as you could. Dodger’s head peaked up but then he laid it right back down. You grabbed your clothes for the day and went into the bathroom quietly closing the door. After showering, towel drying your hair and pinning it back, you got dressed. You decided to grab a muffin at the coffee shop rather than making breakfast here.
Sitting on the edge of the bed next to Chris, you gently stroked his arm. “Hey hun, I’m leaving for work.”
He slowly started to stir, blinking his eyes open and closed. He finally turned his head toward you and gave you an easy smile. “Good morning.” He said. The sleep still evident in his voice.
“I’m heading off to work.” He sat up and pulled his legs to the ground. “Take your time. Will you just turn the lock on the doorknob on your way out?”
“Of course.” He grabbed your hand. “Thanks for the fun night, sweetheart.” Your heart fluttered. You squeezed his hand and stood up letting go.
“I’ll talk to you later. Bye Dodger.” You said grabbing your bag, crutches, and headed out the door.
Chris texted you later that day just to say hi. Unfortunately, you were too busy to reply or even notice you had a text. Since you weren’t much help running around doing errands for Colleen or Victoria, you were on paper duty. Entering receipts, submitting invoices, making calls. A lot of these tasks were mostly spread out, but since you were out Friday and didn’t come in on Saturday, it was all getting done today. For once, you and Victoria were on the same schedule. She invited you out for drinks at a restaurant down the street from the office. You talked about the get together at Chris’ place and mentioned the possible date with his friend. She was excited for you and frankly you were too. You told her about Chris spending the night, quick to point out that it wasn’t planned and you both had just fallen asleep. “Y/N, wow. Is something happening there?”
“No, I don’t think so. I think he’s just being a good friend. We’re getting to know each other.” You shrugged your shoulders. You both ordered a couple of appetizers and ended up chatting for a while, not getting home until almost 9 PM.
Reaching your staircase you were startled to see Chris sitting on the stairs with Dodger. “Chris? Did you end up staying all day?” You asked with a giggle.
“Hey Y/N.” Chris getting to his feet he stood out of your way.You started to climb the stairs.
“Do you want to come up?” You asked glancing behind you as you started to reach the top.Chris was quick to follow.
“You’re home late.” He said. Unlocking your door and setting your bag and crutches down before taking a seat on your couch.
“Yeah, my boss and I, Victoria, went out for a couple of drinks. We don’t see much of each other, but since I am on office duty, we had time to catch up.” He nodded, taking a seat next to you. You started up Netflix and passed him the remote. “I picked last night, you pick tonight.”He grabbed the remote from you and started scanning. He decided on the second season of Stranger Things as he said he hadn’t watched the season yet. You were all caught up, but didn’t mind the re-watch. You both sat enjoying the show, chatting between episodes. Chris got up after three episodes to grab a couple of beers from your fridge. It was nice and you were enjoying whatever this friendship was becoming. Chris spent the night again, this time not by accident. It was late and you both decided it was for the best for him to just crash. The next few days were spent texting back and forth. You’d be lying if you said you didn’t enjoy the attention.
Your ankle was mostly better by Friday and you had plans to meet Chris and Dodger at the park. You had gotten their first so you took a seat at one of the benches facing the fountain. Your phone started to ring with a number you hadn’t recognized. Not one to normally answer unknown numbers, since it was a local number you took a chance thinking it could be someone from work. “Hello?”
“Hey, Y/N, it’s Erika’s friend, Tim. How are you?”
“Oh, hi, Tim.” You replied, not realizing Chris had walked up and was right beside you.

Adrigami!Felix au: Missed you, bug
Timeline: Some time after "First date incoming" post; they've been meeting for a while now, but it's just friendly meeting, what are y'all thinking
Yes, Felix finally is able to accept that he is friends with Bri. Progress!
~~~
Felix would never ever admit it, but he actually missed Bridgette recently.
There was a reason to it, since they didn't see each other for about a month; it was summer holidays and he was travelling with his parents and when he came back, Bridgette's grandmother took her on a sail trip. He didn't even knew she was already back in Paris.
But it was still weird weird feeling for him, to miss anyone.
Anyway, when Bridgette messaged him not long ago, asking of he would like to meet and get some croissant at her family's bakery, he agreeded to meet, partially because he wanted to see her, partially because of promised goods; she perfectly knew that this was a trap he couldn't refuse falling into.
"Oooh, hello you two!" welcomed them Bridgette's aunt from behind the counter as they entered the bakery.
"Hi, auntie Rose!" smiled girl. Felix murmured some greetings too. Woman knew him long enough to understand that this was as cheerful as he could be for most of the time.
When Bridgette's mother became prospering fashion designer, her parents actually accepted that at some point they would have to close the bakery and retire, leaving Paris without their delicious goods. But, when she got married and they met her sister-in-law, Rose, she showed interest in learning to bake.
Now, after a couple of years, she was succesfully running their bakery, with them helping her a bit.
"How was the trip? Hope mum didn't blear you?" asked Rose as she was packing them croissants.
"Nah, i'm fine. Tho after two weeks on a boat it is strange not to feel constant swaying."
"I know what you mean." smiled woman.
"But it was nice family trip. Pity that you and auntie Jule couldn't come."
"I wouldn't forgive her of she would reject offer of that magazine. She doesn't do a lot of modeling but i know how much she loves it." Rose handed them packed croissants. "Your grandparents are not home but you can come upstairs anyway if you want."
"Sure. Thanks, auntie!"
"Thank you." Felix nodded to woman before he and Bridgette left the bakery and went upstairs, to Dupain-Cheng's kitchen. "Don't you think your aunt spoils us too much?" asked boy, peering into his bag, filled with bunch of croissants.
"Well, definetly not as much as my grandparents. They would add bunch of cookies and maybe a fruit tart and who knows what else." laughed Bridgette, preparing them some tea. Felix nodded in agreement.
After a while, girl started humming to herself cheerfully. As a daughter of musician, she wasn't used to a complete silence and often felt the need to fill it; and while small-talk was in Felix's opinion a very annoying filler, he actually enjoyed her humming. Especially since they had suprisingly similar taste in music.
So, her crooning was sort of compromise for them.
When the tea was ready, they moved everything to a coffee table next to the couch where they sit down.
"How was your journey?" asked Bridgette, watching him nibbling on croissant.
"Good, to be honest." Felix shrugged his shoulders. "For last two years mother was too busy to go with us on any vacation so it was nice change this year. We visited a couple of cities in Germany." he sipped his tea and continued. Since he actually enjoyed the trip, he let himself talk more than usuall, willing to share with Bridgette good parts of the it.
When he felt her leaning on him, he stopped the story, ready to give her an unamused glare; but it turned into suprized one when he noticed she felt asleep.
"Rude." he commented, with no response.
She probably came back from her trip yesterday or so, and didn't have enough sleep after, he guessed.
But then, why did she invite him? Did she missed him that much?
Well, since he was so unusally willing to meet her, she might too...
Besides, feeling her warm body next to his was suprisingly pleasant. He shyly rested his head on hers, feeling wave of calmness coming to him.
That was weird feeling, coming from a simple touch.
Felix was definetly not a clingy person. Quite opposite, he usually was the one to avoid contact with anyone; especially with people he didn't know well.
He accepted a long time ago that his father was very expressive with his feelings and almost didn't mind his constant hugs, hair messing and other little touches that Adrien just couldn't resist.
His mother, on the other hand, understood Felix's nature and wasn't so generous with gestures of affection; she knew that whenever he would need some, he could come to her, usually to just sit next to and lean on her while watching movies or to nap on her lap while she could scratch his head.
Other than that, he usually didn't feel like needing any affection.
Until now, apparently.
"Are you purring?..." asked Bridgette drowsily.
"What?" Felix quickly raised his head, feeling caught red handed. He realized with horror that indeed, he was purring.
How was it even working? He was not transformed!
"No. Definetly not." answered, forcing himself to stop purring. It worked, luckily. "I'm not a cat."
"Oh." girl realized what happened and jumped back. "Sorry! I'm so sorry for falling asleep on you!"
"That's okay. I don't mind." actually, he felt a little empty now, not feeling her warmth. That was new; he usually got more than enough of attention and never lacked it.
She smiled with relief, making Felix wonder if he really was that bad with all that avoiding touch. He probably was; she was just more affectionate person, like his father.
"Anyway, i'm sorry, i shouldn't fall asleep." she sighed with abashment.
"You're just tired, that's all. You should get some proper sleep, preferably not on my shoulder."
"I know, i know. I just missed you." she admited, smiling. "You're my friend, after all."
How could she say something like this so easily?
"I'll come back tomorrow if you want, but please rest now." he got up from the couch. "Thank you for tea and croissants." he hesitated for a moment but eventually bent over girl and pressed his lips to her head. "See you tomorrow, Bridgette." said, leaving her with an absolute shock on her face.
~~~
You know that moment when you don't contact with your crush for a while and you didn't actually thought about them a lot but then you meet them/they text you and you realize how much you missed them? Yes, me too. And Felix too (even if he doesn't realize he has a crush on Bri)
Btw, Bri is fine, she might just pass out for a while out of shock and wake up, feeling like the happiest gal on Earth

Part Crasher
@grotesquegabby In which Alex throws a party and Juno is... Juno.
Alex rather enjoyed having so many clubs but even that called for a little variety every once in a while.
It was an empty warehouse, one that had been outfitted several days in advance with a sound system and lights. He had called in a favor from a good DJ a few dimensions over to drop in and a pop up bar was well stocked with anything one could ask for.
Alex had made it invitation only. He had plenty of regulars from his clubs that knew how to have a good time. The night was still young and already he could tell it was going down as one of the better parties he had thrown that year.
Alex leaned against the bar with a wide grin. He could already spy three or four possible snacks for when those pesky after party munchies kicked in. But he could also spy something else, a pesky bug.
How she had gotten passed his bouncers Alex had no clue but the girl moved in and out of the dance floor with confidence. There was an arrogance to her, one that seemed somewhat familiar… but from where?
Alex chuckled and slipped away from the bar, moving into the crowd but just enough out of the way so she couldn’t catch his scent. The girl would eye someone, move in close, and then change her mind. A slight sniff or something better would catch her eye, she was clearly hunting. Alex had to admit he appreciated her boldness but this just made her double the party crasher in his book. A big no.
At one point she turned around and looked Alex in the eye, a sour frown that was just way too familiar.
What was it?
Alex grinned and strolled over, “Well hello there Chica. I gotta say I can’t recall ever putting you on the invite list.”
The girl smirked, “yes well, you struck me as a “more the merrier” type of guy. What’s the matter Home Skillet? Am I harshin your vibe?
“All I’m sayin Bug-a-boo is you don’t need to be rude now sweetheart but maybe yeah you're ruining the vibe.”
“Maybe you just need a vibe check.”
M̵̡̖͎̗̹͔͕͊̈́̿́̓ä̶̤́̐̇̀̚y̶̢̡̯͕̩͂͗͌̽b̶̳̅̒͑̒̈ē̵̮͔̞͗̄̕ ̴̮̤̑̿y̷̢̥̹̐͜o̵̢̙̤̟̭̦̰͆̒̓̏ṳ̴̢̊̋̀̒̊̆͝ͅ ̷̛̱͉̦̳̋́͑́̈n̷̲͕͓͓̖̳̜͊́̎ḙ̴̭̏e̴̢̧̛̹̝̖̹̒͋̈d̶͍̟̳͓̅̿́̊͆̍̿ ̶̲̇͂̍̈̃̐̐t̶͍̫̘͈͓͐̓́õ̵͓͉̤͓̒̆̔͊͋͐ ̴̤͍͚̍̚ͅs̵͍͙̮͍͉̐̎́́̍ţ̷̹̘͔͎͓̈́̿̐̀e̴̛̬̹͊̈̽͐p̵̡͇̗̾̿̈́͗̐̏ ̶̧̢̬͉̻̱͉̈̂̑o̵̯̾́f̸̖͎̬̤̂̊f̸̦̳̞̬͙̈̇̈̇̀.̸̪̩͋͒̍͋̐͝ͅ
No one else would have heard, but the intention was felt. Several people stepped away, the girl on the other hand rolled her eyes.
“Oh fuck this is why she hangs out with you. So damn dramatic.”
Alex blinked in surprise, the bug was nervous but too stubborn to show it. She was just as much a pain as…
Oh.
“Oh damn you mean Magpie?” Alex laughed, “oh shiznit you’re too much like your dad Chica.”
Alex slapped a hand on her shoulder, steering the girl away towards the bar. Magpie’s family or not he wasn’t cool with her just using his party as a hunting ground.
But hey, she could stay a little longer.
The girl grimaced, “so you met my dad then… bet that went… swell.”
Alex chuckled, signaling the bartender to mix something up. “Old Peri is not my kind of guy I gotta say but it made for an interesting day. You gotta name?”
“Juno, you’ve met my brother yeah?”
“Mothman? Haha couple times yeah. Dude needs to learn to chillax a little you know what I’m sayin?”
Again, Juno grimaced a little. In Alex’s opinion it seems like the whole family could serve to chillax a little.
The bartender set two smoking concoctions on the counter. Alex grinned and downed his in one gulp. Juno did the same with a smirk.
Ah, so maybe she did know how to roll.
“Now what brings a Motherina like you-”
“No, hell no. I’m a butterfly if you’re gonna start with the nicknames Homeskillet.”
Alex’s grin broadened. “Chill now, why so tense? You came to a party right? No need to be trippin on me”
Juno’s forced her shoulders to relax. “Yeah, yeah I get you. Look I’m here because I’m hungry, that's all. You want me gone then cool, just thought I’d try my luck yeah?”
She gave an innocent smile. Alex had to admit she had guts, but wow this girl had some nerve.
“Bug-a-boo I gotta say, Pie’s family or not you gotta learn some respect you know what I’m saying? FYI if you were related to anyone else and I would be mopping the floor with you right now am I clear?”
Juno arched an eyebrow but nodded. “Message received.”
The bartender placed two more glasses in front of them. They both downed the drinks in one gulp.
“So you’ve been so see her yeah?” Juno asked, “she ok?”
Alex nodded. “She’s aiight, more and more Magpie’s coming back. Why not go with your pops to see her?”
“Haven’t spoken to my parents in a couple months.”
Now Alex arched an eyebrow, well that was interesting.
“Do you and your bro know how to get to Adeline’s?”
“I don’t, Vespers went with Red the other day.”
“It’s real easy, I’ll give you the directions.”
“Thanks.”
“It’s all good. By the way, anything important about a cathedral to your aunt?”
Juno thought for a moment, fingers tapping on her cheek. “Yeah actually. There’s this old ruin near my family’s land. Dad said it used to be a church, big one. I remember as a kid Aunt Pie liked to visit it a lot.”
Alex nodded thoughtfully, “I think Pie is homesick.”
“Well she hasn’t been home since…a long time.”
Alex grinned, “she needs a field trip.”
Now Juno grinned, “anywhere new and she’ll love it.”
Juno ended up staying for a few more hours. It turned out she was rather good at manipulating people, breaking up trouble before it started as the party-goers became more and more rowdy. Three times the police showed up for noise complaints and all three it was Juno that got them to leave. How she did it Alex had his suspicions but she wasn’t hunting like he asked of her. If she used her powers to keep things in line then who was he to say no? Girl was a brat and a control freak like her dad it seemed but at least it was working to his advantage.
At one point they met back up at the bar for another round of drinks, Juno turning to Alex with a serious expression.  “Hey I’ve been watching Trouble and the girls for Magpie, just till she gets back and all. You think you could sneak her the dog? Poor thing really misses her.”
“Nah girl, the dog doesn’t like me.”
Juno nodded, “that’s fair I don’t like you either.”

[ 365 Days of SasuHina || Day Two Hundred Five: Showers ] [ Uchiha Sasuke, Hyūga Hinata ] [ SasuHina ] [ Verse: Best Years of Your Life ] [ AO3 Link ]
The entire month has been bone dry. Hardly a cloud in the sky, temperatures skyrocketing, the lawn slowly paling even with the sprinklers running.
And then...the one day - one day! - she dares to make plans with her boyfriend...it pours. Which, sure, normally wouldn’t be a problem if they were doing anything indoors. But no...they’d been planning to go to the local park and walk through the various botanical gardens.
He knows how much she loves flowers.
But when Hinata wakes this morning, it’s to a crack of thunder, bolting upright in bed and spacing for a moment as her brain plays catch-up.
And then...she looks to her window. Sees the streaks of rain cascading down the panes. And it sinks in.
Summer showers.
And quite forceful ones, at that.
“...oh n-no…!”
Heart sinking alongside her posture, she gives the weather her best pout and puppy dog eyes. Really, Mother Nature? Really?! They’ve had this planned for almost three weeks! And now it’s ruined…
Head bowing over her lap in defeat with a whimper of disappointment, Hinata reaches for her cellphone atop her nightstand, powering it up and making to text Sasuke.
But he’s beaten her to it.
Seeing the notification, she braces herself for his disappointment.
Rather than a text, however...he’s sent her an image…?
Opening it up, there’s a blink before she gives a graceless snort.
It’s his hand in front of his window...middle finger lifted in a clear sign of distaste for the rain.
As down as she’s feeling overall, she can’t help a few moments of levity at his reaction. Which, if she’s being honest, is probably why he sent it in the first place. Smiling at her screen, she sends a short message.
Is it in bad taste if I ask for a rain check…?
Waiting for a response, she giggles as he just sends a frowny face.
Sorry...but seriously, what should we do…?
Tossing the mobile atop her bed, she gets up and dresses. It’s not overly cold outside, the rain making the warm day a bit humid. So, she opts for a pair of shorts and a blouse over a camisole. By the time she’s done, he’s replied.
With how busy my aunt’s keeping me, it’ll be a while. But yeah we can reschedule.
Hinata wilts a hair. She was afraid of that.
That’s okay. Summer’s far from over yet, right?
If it weren’t pouring, she’d just...open her window and talk to him across the tiny gap between their houses. But given that the raindrops are splattering against her window like bugs on a windshield...maybe not the best idea.
Well, what about today?
Hinata blinks as she reads the question a second time.
...today?
It’s not like they can go to the gardens...sure, they could go do something indoors somewhere, but it just wouldn’t be the same.
Too late.
...wait, what? Before she can type a questioning reply, she jumps at a knock on her bedroom door. “Uh...hello?”
She expects her sister, maybe her father. But instead she gets a Sasuke?
“...how did you -?”
“Your dad let me in. I think he took pity on me standing in the rain,” the Uchiha replies. And he’s probably right. He likely spent no more than a minute or two during the short walk between neighboring houses, and his tank top is soaked! Water drips from the fringe of his hair to her carpet.
“Sasuke, oh my gosh - it’s pouring! You didn’t grab an umbrella?!”
“For a walk that short?”
“Look at your clothes!”
“It’s just water.”
“And it’s just a cold you’ll have if you don’t dry off! Next thing you know, we’ll have to cancel again because you’re s-sick!”
Snickering a bit, he accepts as she dashes to the upstairs bathroom just down the hall and starts ruffling his head with a towel. “All right, all right...yeesh, you’re as bad as my brother.”
She just puffs cheeks at him. “I don’t want you getting sick. Date or not.”
At the word date, Sasuke stills for a moment...and then gives a soft huff of a laugh alongside a grin.
“...what?”
“Nothing. Just…” Pullin the towel from his head, Sasuke considers it a moment before admitting, “...guess it’s still just a little weird. Calling it a date.”
She blinks...and then goes a little pink. True...they haven’t been dating for all that long. They haven’t even been talking again for all that long, all their history considered. And yet...in a lot of ways, it feels like they never stopped. It felt so natural to just...pick right back up where they left off.
And then, well...go a bit further.
“Yeah, I...I guess it kinda is, huh?”
The pair lapse into thoughtful silence for a moment.
“...so, what should we do?”
“Huh?”
“Well, I came over so we could still spend some time together today,” Sasuke explains. “Since it’s pouring out and all. I thought we could just...hang out here. Guess we could drive somewhere if you want…”
“O...oh! No, this is fine! Um…” She looks around her room. In all honesty, she doesn’t have...all that much to do. A few games, some movies… “...we could, um...make some snacks, and watch a f-film?”
“Sure. Sounds good to me. I don’t watch a lotta movies anymore.”
“Oh…?”
“Guess I just fell out of the habit. Rather play games most of the time.”
“Well, I have those too!”
“Nah...movie sounds better. We can just sit and watch. More mindless.”
She blinks. “...okay. But um...m-maybe I should have some proper breakfast first. Did...did you eat before you came over…?”
“Nah.”
“Nah?!” Hinata ruffles up, making to tug him downstairs. “Come on, I’ll make you something!”
He doesn’t object, knowing there’s no changing her mind. In the kitchen, Hanabi is groggily eating some cereal at the table, Hiashi sitting and reading the paper. They both glance up as the other pair enter, exchanging a look before just...going back to their business.
“Do you want pancakes?”
“Sure.”
“With syrup?”
“Nah, too sweet.”
“Uh...jam…?”
“Eh, sure.”
She makes him a tall stack, a smaller one for herself. They join the rest of the Hyūga at the table, eating in a slightly-awkward silence. Hiashi doesn’t yet know the pair are dating...but there’s still a kind of tension in the air.
As soon as plates are rinsed and put in the dishwasher, they retreat back upstairs.
“Well...maybe we’ll do popcorn, um...later,” Hinata offers.
“Good idea. Not sure that’d sit well on top of a mountain of pancakes.”
“Should we...wait to do the movie, then?”
“...yeah, okay. We can play a game for a bit instead.”
Booting up Hinata’s Switch, the pair duke it out in Smash Brothers for a while before switching to Zelda. Hinata takes the reins, showing him her progress in the game thus far.
“I feel bad...she said to hurry, but...there’s so much to do!”
“There isn’t actually a time constraint, Hinata.”
“I know, but I still feel guilty!” she insists, pouting as he chuckles.
Once the morning ages, they slip back downstairs, finding Hiashi gone and Hanabi in her room doing...whatever it is she’s doing. Some popcorn, salt, and butter later, they’re finally ready for their movie…!
...now to pick one.
“Just choose one, Hinata.”
“You don’t have any input?”
“I’ll be totally fine with whatever you want. Trust me.”
She...doesn’t entirely believe that, but slips in an action flick as rain continues to slither down the windows. Settling on her bed next to him, Hinata wriggles into a comfy position along Sasuke’s side. He slips an arm over her shoulders, and a subconscious smile lifts her lips.
Between the warm room, her comfortable pose, the sounds of the rain, and a movie she’s watched half a dozen times...Hianta actually manages to drift off to sleep.
“...‘nata…‘naaata…” Something jostles her shoulder. “Earth to Hinata, do you copy?”
“Huh…?”
“Movie’s over.”
“W...what?!”
“You conked out,” Sasuke snickers, watching her sit up.
“But...but I…?” Hinata wilts. “...I missed all that time with you…?”
“I don’t have to leave yet. And I for one was very okay with you all snug with me, asleep or not.”
Her pouting cheeks go pink. “...guess...I’m more tired than I thought.”
“We could take a nap.”
“But I just did!”
“Well maybe I want one.”
The pout intensifies. “...lunch break, then another movie.”
“All right, all right...whatever you say.”
She’s going to make the most out of this rainy day, darn it!

Expedition of the Heart: Fashionably Nervous
Thank you all for your patience! Here’s the next installment of my young Ian AU, which I just love! HUGE thank you once again to @akb723 for being the best beta ever. And also the genius behind all the titles (seriously she's amazing). Anywhooooo, I hope you enjoy reading! As always, leave me a comment or drop an ask to my inbox if you’ve got questions! Also if you want to be tagged in future updates of this series, please send me a direct request.
Catch up here: Prologue, 1, 2, 3, 4
Rollo sneezed and Ian turned to glare at him. The dog just stared back.
“It’s a date, Rollo. I need to look nice.”
The contents of his small closet had exploded all over his bed and floor, clothes heaped in untidy piles without thought. He lived a simple life and didn’t spend much money on his appearance. Every few months he got his hair cut, bought new clothes when his old ones wore out, and got Rollo his supplies. Otherwise his money went into his savings and the few miscellaneous needs that come up from time to time. A knock came at his door and Ian hurriedly pulled on a pair of jeans.
“Come in,” he said.
Auntie Claire walked in, her eyes bugging out at the state of his room.
“I don’t believe I’ve ever seen your room like this before,” she said, trying to stifle a laugh.
“Auntie, help me?”
“When is your date?” she said sympathetically
Ian sighed and sat on a corner of his bed.
“Wednesday. It’s her day off this week.”
Claire lifted an eyebrow.
“You must be special if she’s spending her precious time off with you. Jamie said you’re doing a picnic?”
“Aye. I wanted to do something nice for her. The weather should hold steady this week, but I’ve got an umbrella and blanket packed in my car to be safe.”
“Only one blanket? What will you both sit on?”
His face flushed.
“An extra, uh blanket, I mean. Uncle Jamie said I could borrow the nice picnic blanket he got ye a few years back?”
His auntie smiled at him.
“That’s perfect. Now, what is it you need help with?”
Ian waved vaguely at the mass of clothes piled on his bed.
“I dinna ken what to wear, Auntie. I want her to see I ken how to look after myself, that I’ve a good, steady job, but… I dinna want to look like a dandy either.”
She mad a hmmm noise as she began picking through the options. He did his own laundry, so she wasn’t overly familiar with what he had.
“This is all you’ve got?”
“Aye. Weel and the suit mam sent for Christmas last year. And my kilt. But… I dinna want to bring that out just yet.”
Auntie Claire eyed him critically before she sighed.
“You know… I’m not exactly the best person to ask for fashion advice.”
Ian nearly groaned.
“Auntie, I dinna have anyone else to ask!”
“Well, you could call your mum. I’m sure she’d be more than happy to help you choose exactly what you need, and I know she’d love to hear about Rachel too.”
Relief flooded Ian’s veins at the thought of speaking to his mam. He grabbed Claire up in a big hug before pulling his phone from his pocket. The door closed quietly behind his aunt as she left him in peace.
Ian felt a little nervous as his listened to the ringing. He hadn’t told his family about any of his other girlfriends, but Rachel was different.
“Ian?”
The sharpness of his mother’s tone pulled him from his thoughts.
“Aye, mam.”
“Are ye alright, lad? Is anything the matter?”
For a moment, he was confused at her question.
“What’s the lad done now?” came his father’s muffled voice.
Belatedly, Ian looked at the clock and winced.
“I’m sorry, mam. Nothing’s wrong, I promise. I didna look at the time before I rang. I’m sorry I woke ye up.”
“Why are ye callin’? Did something happen?”
“Weel… I need your help. I… I asked a girl out.”
The phone went silent for so long Ian worried he’d dropped the call.
“Mam?”
“What girl? Who did ye ask out?”
“Her name is Rachel. She’s a nurse at Auntie’s hospital. She’s… Mam she’s beautiful. I’m takin’ her out on Wednesday and I dinna ken what to wear.”
Ian heard the sound of an old door close as his mother left her bedroom.
“Ye’ve never called about a girl before, Ian. What’s so special about this one?”
“I… I dinna ken, exactly. But I like her. I waited up to sit wi’ her while she had a short break in the middle of the night. She agreed to go out wi’ me.”
“Oh Ian,” she said softly. “I’m so happy for ye. Tell me about her. What’s she look like?”
Ian sat on his bed and told his mother everything he knew about Rachel, which wasn’t much.
“Alright, alright. So ye need help pickin’ what to wear, aye?”
“How did ye ken that?”
“It may have been a long time since I last laid eyes on ye, Ian Murray, but I’m yer mother and I ken how ye are. Now go turn on the video call and show me what options ye have.”
He sighed and looked around the room.
“It’s a bit of a mess…”
“Dinna make excuses.”
With a few taps on his phone, he pulled up the video and smiled at his mam. She looked tired, but gave him a warm smile.
“Ye look good, lad.”
“Thanks mam.”
“Now gi’ us a look at yer clothes.”
Ian turned the camera around and did as his mother instructed. Half an hour later, they’d put together a respectable outfit. As he cleaned up the rest of his mess, his mam gave him the big family update. It had been some time since he’d learned what all his siblings were doing and it was nice to listen to his mam talk.
“So ye promise me, Ian. Promise you’ll ring after ye’ve gone out wi’ wee Rachel.”
“Aye, mam. I promise to call ye as soon as I can.”
Suddenly the elder Ian’s face filled the small screen.
“Are ye still talkin’ to the lad?” his father asked.
“Aye!” Jenny said, pushing her husband out of the way. “Get yer big head out of my face.”
Ian laughed, watching his parents. A sharp stab of homesickness stole his breath for a moment.
“Ye look good, son,” Ian’s father said.
“Thanks, Da.”
Jenny’s face came back into focus on the screen.
“I’m afraid my morning’s started now your da’s up.”
“Aye, I’ll let ye go then.”
“Dinna wait so long to ring again, Ian. I miss the sound of your voice.”
A lump formed in his throat and he coughed to dislodge it.
“I’ll ring ye soon, Mam. Promise.”
“I love ye, Ian.”
“Love ye too, Mam.”
She gave him a warm smile before the video call ended. Christ he missed his family. Maybe he’d have to start planning a trip back for a visit. If all went well with Rachel, perhaps he could bring her along.
Rollo, who had fallen asleep while Ian had spoken with his mam, suddenly barked himself awake. He looked at Ian with a puzzled expression before shaking himself.
“Dinna fash, Rollo. Mam helped me find somethin’. Lets take ye out to do yer business before we go to bed, aye?”
Ian patted his leg and led the dog out.
***
Claire looked out her bedroom window, watching her nephew and his dog. Her husband came up behind her, hair still dripping from his shower.
“He’s a good lad,” Jamie said.
“He is. And he’s got a date.”
“Aye, so he told me.” Jamie turned Claire to face him, grinning down at her. “The lad’s near terrified to take this lass out.”
Claire smiled back, brushing the wet, red hair from his face.
“We were never that young, were we?”
“Young? Nah. Terrified to ask a beautiful lass out on a date? Och aye. I remember that verra well.”
“What I remember,” she said, tracing feather-light circles on his bare shoulders. “Is wondering why you fancied a harried nurse like me. I know of at least six other nurses who hated that you brought me coffee.”
Jamie gave a deep chuckle, arms sliding around her to pull her in close.
“How could I see anyone else wi’ you right there?”
“And you still feel that way? After all these years?”
Rather than offer a reply, he met her gaze. His blue eyes were dark with desire and adoration, holding her attention until she knew the truth. He loved her to the depths of his very soul and she held his heart in her hands. Reaching up, she pressed her lips to his and sighed.
“I feel exactly the same way,” she whispered against his mouth.
Then he gathered her in his arms and showed her just how much he loved her.

Babysitting part 3
Day 20 of the writing challenge,  For @dream-beyond-the-fantasy and @missviolethunter !
Karate Kid Fandom- A Careless Man’s Careful Daughter Universe
I own nothing.
Bobby helps Becca babysit the twins.
Tumblr media
Two hours later, they'd managed to get the twins fed, bathed, and in their pajamas without anything worse than a flooded bathroom floor from Emily not shutting the shower curtain completely. Nothing a few towels and a mop couldn't fix.
Now, they were watching a movie in the den. The girls loved “Annie”, so turning it on was a sure-fire way to get them to calm down a without the fight of actually saying these horrible words.
Becca and Bobby were cuddled on the sofa while the twins were laying on the floor near the television.
"Sorry you're stuck watching this," she apologized. She loved “Annie”, too, but knew a lot of people their age saw it as childish.
"Nah, it's cool. I was just thinking that Jessie would like it,” he replied.
Becca grabbed the ringing phone off the end table. "Hello. Kreese residence. This is…, oh, hey…, no, they went to that wedding in
Santa Monica."
"Oh! I'm telling," Emily crowed. "You're not supposed to tell people we are home alone!"
Becca rolled her eyes. "It's just Uncle Terry. He can know we are home alone. He needs to be warned in case you two blow something up this time," she said to her sister before laughing at whatever was said on the other end of the line. "Whatever. You know you'd come help me…, Yes, sir. I think, Mama said about midnight, but this cousin has been left at the altar twice already, so really…, I'm surprised they haven't gotten back already…, Yes, sir. I'll tell him…, Yes, sir. Bye."
She hung up the phone to see the twin’s angry faces that she hadn’t let them have the phone. "He didn’t want to talk to us, he wanted to talk to Daddy. Watch the movie or go to bed.”
"We'll watch the movie," Amy said, pulling Emily down beside her.
Becca sat back down beside Bobby, slipping her hand in his.
Once the movie was over, Emily and Amy went to bed with little fuss. Becca was pleasantly surprised until they came running down the stairs shrieking about how some "huge,” ugly bug in their bedroom.
Becca rolled her eyes. "Don't mess with it. It won't bother you."
“It's flying all around," Amy said.
"What if it lands on us?" Emily asked.  “We can't go to bed until Daddy gets home to get rid of it." she sat down on the sofa.
Becca rolled her eyes. On the one hand, the bug probably was not real. On the other hand, if she went up there and it was a moth, she’d scream louder than the twins.  She hated moths, just something about the way they flew at you…, she shuddered.
Still, letting the twins stay up until Mom and Dad got home at midnight was equally out of the question.  Mom would have a cow if they were too tired to go to Mass the next day. She bit her lip, then looked at Bobby and smiled, what she hoped was sweetly.
“Would you mind getting rid of a possibly imaginary bug?”
“It’s not imaginary!” Amy insisted.
“Sure, Babe,” he laughed, following the twins up to their room. He came back down a few minutes later, with his cupped hands held out in front of him.  Emily ran down and opened the front door.  He let the rather large Tiger moth go on the front lawn.
“Can you go to bed now?” Becca asked the twins.
“I guess,” Amy grumbled.
“Come on,” Emily said, grabbing her hand and stomping up the stairs. “She just wants us to go to bed so she and Bobby can smooch.” Becca covered her face, turning bright red. “I’m going to strangle her one day.”
“Come on,” Bobby said, with a laugh. He pulled her hands away from her face.  “Let’s go watch a movie or something until I have to leave.”
“Okay,” she agreed, happy that he wasn’t going to make a big deal about what Emily said.
In the den, she looped her arms around his neck.  “Thank you for getting rid of the super huge, ugly but not imaginary bug for me.”
“Anytime,” he said, pulling her close.  “I’ll take care of all the super huge, ugly bugs for you, real or imaginary.”
“My hero,” she laughed, kissing him, letting him pull her in his lap as he sat down.
Not more than a minute later, the front door opened and shut.
“Becca?” Cara called out.
She quickly slid off his lap and sat on the sofa, trying to smile and look innocent when her mother came in the den.
“Hi, Mom.  You’re home early.  What happened?”  It was only nine thirty. “She got left at the altar again,” John laughed, coming in behind Cara.
“Really?” Becca covered her mouth to keep from laughing.  That would be mean.
“No, not really,” Cara replied, shoving John playfully.  “They eloped because Aunt Eleanor was being a pain in the behind.”
“Yeah, right,” John scoffed. “How come your aunt was the only one who knew that?  Has anyone ever seen this guy?”
“Of course, they have,” Cara couldn’t help laughing at the absurdity of the situation herself. “But, honestly, I’d believe it.  I’d believe Aunt Eleanor was the reason she was left at the alter the other two times.  The one wedding I was in as a teen, Aunt Eleanor got upset because the Matron of Honor was pregnant, and she just couldn’t have pregnant people in the pictures.  The girl was like two months.  You couldn’t even tell.  She’s crazy. Eloping was the only way Susan was going to get married.” She looked at her watch, then back at Becca and Bobby.  “Thanks for babysitting, though.  It’s still early.  Why don’t you two go get some ice cream or something?  You can stay out until eleven, just this once.”
She didn’t have to offer twice.
The End

Stuttering Pete {Pt. 2} -Peter Parker x Reader-
Pt. 1 - Pt. 3 - Pt. 4
Part 2!
Pairing: Peter Parker x Reader
Summary: Somethings wrong with Peter. You start to notice that he’s not really acting like himself, even more than usual since his trip to Germany. Trying to ask what’s wrong doesn't really seem like its going to work until one night, you find a very frustrated Peter Parker on your fire escape, ready to vent for the first time in weeks.
Warnings?: Maybe a little bit of fluff and a little make out session. ;)
Tumblr media
Something was bothering Peter. You knew it. He seemed preoccupied, which was the usual Peter, his head always seemed to be in all kinds of different places. Especially ever since their school trip to Oscorp months ago. As well as his Uncle Ben’s death weeks later which had thrown him into a huge depression. He hadn't talked to you, Ned or May in weeks. He barely ate, it was a hard time. This seemed to be different but you were sure not much would compare to the loss of his uncle. Ned finished adding his handful of LEGOs to the Death Star before getting to his feet.
“I’m going to go get some food. Do you guys want anything?”
“No.” You said
“I’m good.” Peter muttered placing another piece on the Death Star. Ned left the room. The two of you sat in Ned’s room in silence for a moment.
“Is...” You started “Is something wrong, Pete?” He looked up, lowering his handful of LEGO.
“It’s nothing.” He said shaking his head but he never looked into your eyes.
“Pete.” You said he looked up. His eye was still bruised, and the bruise on his cheek was still dark but it was looking better.
“Really, Y/N. I’m fine.”
“Peter.” You said reaching over and stopping his hand before he could attach the piece, he looked up at you. “How long have we been friends?” He knew where this was going. He knew there was no use in trying to put on a brave face with you. He couldn't lie to you but he also knew he couldn't tell you the whole truth.
“Since we were five.” He muttered
“Right. So ten years. You’ve also lived one floor up since we were five. You know you can't hide anything from me.” You added.
“Yeah.” He said avoiding your eyes.
“Okay, then what’s wrong?” You asked
“You don’t want to hear about it.” He tried once more to turn you away.
“Then why did I ask?” You raised your brows. He looked up glaring at you but there was no anger in it. Just the single fact that he had no idea what to do.
I’m Spider-Man. He thought I fought some of the Avengers. It was Steve Rogers who gave me this black eye. Tony Stark made me a suit and made me feel like I was part of the team but then just dumped me on my doorstep and I haven't heard anything from him since. Stopping bike thieves and helping little old ladies just doesn't seem to compare to the kinds of stuff I could be doing with Iron Man. I just feel like I could be doing more. I want to do more.
“I think Mr. Stark is going to end my internship.” Was all he really said.
“That’s what has you in this mood?” You asked
“Partially.” He said scratching his neck like he did when he was nervous.
“Then what is it? You can tell me these things. You know that.” You assured him. “Don’t bottle things up. It doesn't suit you.”
“Don’t mother me. That doesn't suit you.” He went back to assembling the Death Star. You sighed, crawling around the beach ball sized ball of LEGO to sit in front of him so he couldn't use it as a distraction.
“It just feels like theres a void between us lately. We used to tell each other everything.” You said Well, you never told him about your crush on him. You thought to yourself.
“I know, I know...” He said seeing the look on your face, he reached over and took your hand in his. “You’re still my best friend, Y/N. I know I’ve been distant lately because of the Stark Internship and...” He paused “And Uncle Ben.” You squeezed his hand.
“I just want you to know that I’m still here.” You assured him. “Just one fire escape level down from you. Just come down any time you want to talk.”
“I know. Same for you. But up.” He gave you a smile and for the first time in quite a while, you felt at ease.
Tumblr media
You had always been a light sleeper. It was your downfall in a city like New York.  You would have thought being born and raised in the city would give you an edge to being undeterred by noise during the night. Tonight was one of the nights you just could not sleep.
Laying awake you listened to all the sounds around you. Traffic, sirens, the occasional shout from an angry New Yorker. It was all familiar. You became aware of the sound of old metal creaking as someone started to descend from the fire escape. Some how, you knew it was Peter. The tell tale tapping of his knuckles on your window a few seconds later just confirmed it for you. You swung yourself out of bed wrapping a blanket around your bare shoulders exposed by your monkey pyjama tank top. Walking over to your window, you unlocked it, seeing Peter’s crouched figure by the sill. You pushed the window open allowing him access. Once the window was open enough for Peter to slip in, you backed away. Going back towards your bed, you heard him close the window and begin to follow you. Reaching over, you turned on your lamp. Peter squinted against the sudden light.
“Hey.” You said as he dropped onto your bed.
“Hey.” He replied whispering.
“You don’t have to whisper.” You said reaching over and grabbing your favourite hoodie. Slipping it over your shoulders instead of the blanket and zipping it up. “My parents aren't home.”
“Another late night at work?” Peter asked you nodded. “That’s like the third one this week. Aren't you scared?” He asked his face riddled with concern.
“No, not really.” She said “Plus, I’ve got an escape route if someone breaks down the door.” You gestured to the fire escape. Peter chuckled. “Anyways,” You began. “What’s up? You’re not in your PJ’s.” You pointed out. He nodded glancing down at his dark jeans, grey t-shirt with a science joke on it you couldn't see because of his half zipped dark blue hoodie.
“Yeah, I just got home.” He said
“Where were you?” You asked
“Out... Just wandering around.”  He said looking down at his hands in his lap.
“Just walking around?” You said flinching at the clipped tone the question came out in. “Hoping to run into Steve again are you?” You added arching a brow. His bruises were almost gone now. Peter actually laughed at this question. A short burst but still, it made you smile.
“No.” He finally said. A small sad smile on his face.
“Okay. Are you finally going to tell me what’s been bothering you?” He thought about it for a moment before turning his body to face you.
“Mr. Stark keeps treating me like I'm a kid.”
“You are one though, Pete.” You pointed out he sighed
“I know... I know that it’s just... I thought we had a deal. A sort of partnership going on and now he won't talk to me.”
“What kind of partnership?” You asked
“Um.. Sp-Spread sheets and st-stuff.” He said Peter stuttered when he wasn't telling the whole truth but you let him continue because at least he was talking.
“Anyways, I did this favour for him,” Peter dropped onto his back, his feet still dangling off the edge of your bed. “A big favour, I might add.” He said as you got up. You shuffled towards your desk where a mini fridge sat next to it retrieving two cokes for you and Peter. You were probably going to need some caffeine.
“Do you see what I mean though?” Peter asked, sitting up once more watching you pace back and forth.
“So, after you helped him he just kind of went MIA on you?” You asked he nodded.
“Yeah!” He threw his hands up “I can't get him to talk to me. I want to continue to do more important stuff. Stuff that matters more than- Spread sheets. I just wish he would give me a more important task.” He said you walked over pulling yourself onto the bed again.
“Have you tried going up to his office while your interning?” You asked
“He’s never at the Tower... I think he’s moving.”
“If he moves won't your internship be over?” You asked his face dropped as if for the first time realizing that fact. He sighed turning to face you.
“What should I do, Y/N?” He asked desperation in his voice.
“I don’t know, Pete. I honestly don’t.” He put a hand through his hair. You watched him intently. You thought about how much he meant to you and seeing him this frustrated and stressed out and not knowing how to help him really made you feel useless. And if you were being honest, guilty. You had been bugging him to talk to you about this for weeks and not that he had finally handed you the key to helping him, you broke it in the lock.
“Does Aunt May know?” You asked finally breaking the silence. “About Mr. Stark going MIA and the relocation?”
“No.” Peter shook his head. “I haven't told her anything. As far as she knows everything is going fine.”
“Why don’t you tell her? Maybe she can talk to Mr. Stark?” Peter chuckled
“Yeah... That’s a good idea. I pity Mr. Stark for when she does find out. She could rip into him pretty good, as you are aware.” He said you found yourself smirking at the thought of May Parker and her unrelenting protectiveness for Peter. You had seen it on multiple occasions. If Peter ever got in trouble at school or anywhere else for a stupid reason, in came May Parker ready to tear into the moron who dared to cross Peter.
“Do you think-” Peter stopped mid sentence and shook his head “Nah, never mind.” He said
“No, come on. Say it.” You urged giving is knee a gentle slap.
“Do you think my Uncle Ben would be proud of me?” His big brown eyes were soft as they looked up at you. Filled with doubt.
“I know that he was proud of you.” You said and on compulsion reached out and took one of his hands in yours. “And he still would be.” You added. His mouth pulled into a small smile as he looked down at your hand on his before turning it to link your fingers together.
“Thanks, Y/N...” He said “Really.” He looked up to meet your eyes you smiled feeling a blush crawl up your cheeks, suddenly very aware of the warmth of his hand.
“It’s what I’m here for right?” You said he nodded. Silence fell between the two of you as you just sat there. You didn't really know what to say. Your mind was all over the place, All kinds of thoughts coming at you. One stuck, for some reason you were thinking about Liz Allan. In this moment you found it easier to hate her. Despite how nice she was, you didn't want her to have the feeling of Peter’s hand in hers. You didn't want her to have Peter. Considering she hasnt really given him the time of day. No. In that moment you didn't want anyone else to have Peter Parker. In fact, the thought of someone doing so filled you with anxiety and anger.
“You okay, Y/N?” Peter asked you looked at him confused. Was it that obvious?
“Yeah. Why?” You asked
“You’re squeezing my hand.” He said you looked down noticing you were gripping his hand so tight your knuckles were white.
“Oh, sorry.” You said taking your hand back and putting it in your lap with the other one.
I bet Liz wouldn't squeeze his hand. You thought and internally cursed yourself.
“No, that’s fine.” Peter said you can tell something was on his mind.
He’s probably thinking about Liz... That’s all that dork thinks about. Michelle’s voice echoed around your skull. Was he thinking about Liz right now? A pit settled in your stomach.
“Peter?” You croaked he looked up. “Do you...”
Do you think about Liz a lot? Do you like Liz? Do you like me? Did you wish that was Liz’s hand?
Do you want to kiss me?
“Do I what?” Peter asked
Oh hell....
Moving towards Peter quickly before you can wimp out, you cupped his face and pulled his lips to yours. His body was tense, you leaned back slowly, your nose brushing his as you leaned back. His eyes opened slowly like yours into a surprised expression. You dropped your hands.
“I’m sorry... I just had to do that at least once.” Peter was still watching you in shock. Or was that anger? Discomfort? He was impossible to read in that moment. “Pete? Did I make you uncomfortable?” You asked he shook his head slowly.
“No, no... I was just wondering how... How you would feel about doing it twice?” He said your heart practically leaped from your chest.
“Well,” You said smiling “Doing it again wouldn't be so bad.” You added Peter’s hands were on your bare thighs, exposed by you jammie shorts. Sliding up to your waist as he drew closer. You felt his warmth as he came closer.
Liz Allan who? You thought to yourself with a smile as Peter lifted a hand to your jaw to hold it steady as he closed the gap between you. Your lips coming together with more grace this time, parting slightly. He leaned away just enough to check your face for any signs of objection. You smiled leaning back in, this time your lips parting completely to allow each of your tongues to move, exploring.
You slipped your hands down to his waist, slipping your hands under his hoodie and t-shirt to place your hands on the skin on his hips. He started to lean forwards, his hands leaving your face to be placed on either side of you on the mattress as you allowed him to lower you onto it. You drew your knees apart, bringing him closer. He smiled against your lips as you slipped your hand down to grab his bum.
Your back involuntarily arched into him as his mouth left yours and found your neck. You found your hands had discovered the zipper of his hoodie and were dragging it down. Peter made no move to object as you accomplished your task and made to push the dark fabric off of his torso, helping you guide it off of his arms.
He tossed the hoodie away, you heard it hit the hardwood floor a few feet away, smiling as he leaned in to kiss you again, slipping your hands under his shirt surprised to find hard, lean muscles along his back, curiosity overwhelmed you and withdrawing your hands, you slipped them back up the front of his shirt. Your heart almost stopped when you felt each individually well defined ab on his abdomen, and the warm smooth flesh of his pecks. Using majority of your strength, you flipped Peter onto his back, straddling his waist. He gripped your thighs, sliding around to place his hands on your hips, his warm finger tips grazing your lower back. You were beginning to get foggy, breathless and a little  hot. Leaning down to attach your mouth to his throat. Feeling goosebumps rise on your skin as he let out a groan when you nipped at his jaw on your way back to his lips. Sitting up, keeping you on his lap as your lips met again, his hands found the zipper to your hoodie and it took him half the time to get yours off of you and toss it towards where his was resting. His hands slid down your back and around to the top part of your bum. You reached down taking the hem of his t-shirt in your excited fingers and pulling it up over his head. He watched you as you looked down at his gloriously ripped torso. It’s probably something most girls wouldn't expect to see under Peter Parker’s clothing.
Peter’s warm fingers found the hem of your tank top and you hoped you were wearing a cute enough bra as he pulled it over your head. You blushed realizing you were now both half naked together. Your hormones getting the better of you as you forced Peter’s shoulders back down onto the mattress.

Missing Gears Chapter 6
Things always go wrong when something good happens. For example: The Thunderbirds were just starting up when Gordon Tracy was the only survivor of a holfoil crash. An engagement of a Tracy son and an ex FBI agent when someone is out to get International Rescue. But sometimes good things come from the bad things in our lives.
Read on: Fanfiction.Net AO3 Wattpad
Over the next two months, Naomi and Virgil’s wedding came along. All of the guests had replied with yes. International Rescue had been set up with a message saying that they would be unreachable for two days either side of the 14th of July due a special date in the calendar. Virgil had chosen his suit out and so had his brothers. Everything was ready but the dresses of the Bride’s party and the flowers. In the middle of June, Virgil had two weeks in Thunderbird 5 rostered. John had organised the rotation and everything else to Naomi’s benefit. He was pretty sure that he was the only one of his brothers who knew that Naomi had yet to get a wedding dress. Selecting two weeks in the middle of June, he had spoken to Lady P to come over to America to take Naomi, Tin Tin, Ohana and Naomi’s friends dress shopping. He had done it with Naomi’s permission of course. Naomi was not someone he wanted to be on the bad side of. The plan was this; Virgil would go up to Thunderbird 5. John would return from space. After having some food and water and a little rest, he would then fly Naomi, Tin Tin and Ohana out to California. They would be meet by Naomi’s friends and Lady P at the airport. John had been informed that Siobhan, one of Naomi’s bridesmaids, had connections to a high end bridal dress shop. All while Virgil thought that Naomi was going to visit her uncle and aunt. And that’s what happened.
Naomi hugged her fiancé. “You have fun up in space,” She told him. “Want a picture of the Southern Cross?” He joked. “Nah. I have this amazing picture of it already,” Naomi smiled. “Have fun at your Uncle and Aunt’s,” Virgil kissed her before heading down to Thunderbird Three’s Hanger.
Naomi was writing up the last part of her proposed act when John came out of his room. She saved her work and shut her laptop down. “Are you ready?” She asked. John nodded. He yawned. “Do you want a cup of coffee before we leave?” Naomi asked, sympathising with her soon-to-be brother-in-law. John nodded again. “Well sit there and I’ll go make some,” Naomi commanded. A few minutes later John was nursing a cup of hot coffee. “Thanks Naomi,” He told his soon to be sister-in-law. “No problem – and I can get Gordon to fly me out to LA if you’re still tired,” Naomi said “No, I’ll fly you. Everyone else thinks that we’re flying out to Kansas,” John said “I’ll be fine,” “If you say so John, I’ll go load the luggage and find Tin Tin and Ohana,”
The flight was a smooth one. Not as smooth as Naomi’s flight from America to Tracy Island the first time, but still pretty smooth. They landed in LA. John said goodbye to the three ladies before actually flying to Kansas. Someone had to keep up appearances. Tin Tin, Ohana and Naomi were greeted by the bridesmaids. “Ohana and Tin Tin, these wonderful people are Megan Greenwood, Caitlin Falconer, Siobhan Coulson and Emma Wood. Megan, as you know is a doctor, Caitlin has a successful restaurant chain, Siobhan is a Biology teacher and Emma, last I heard, is still doing a music degree,” Naomi introduced her bridesmaids to the two females who had a lot of input in the Tracy family’s island life “Guys, this Ohana Kyrano and her daughter Tin Tin. They live on Tracy Island and work with the Tracy’s,” Naomi’s friends and the Kyrano’s got to know each other. “We should get going,” Siobhan spoke up “My friend’s shop closes at two and she said she could keep it open another hour just for us,” “If you’re telling us that you want to get going,” Naomi told her friend “Then you haven’t changed one bit since college,” “Actually – my friend text me a few minutes before your plane landed,” Siobhan laughed “Plus aren’t we missing someone?” “All the wedding party is here though,” Emma frowned “We have the bride, the Maid of Honour, the bridesmaids and the flower girl,” “We’re missing Lady Penelope,” Tin Tin spoke up “She should be here,” “Sorry I’m late,” A feminine British accent spoke up “Parker had a terrible time trying to find a park here,” The wedding party turned around to see a fashionably dressed woman with long blonde hair followed by an older man who was dressed smartly. “’Orrible parking this airport does,” The man agreed “Miss Kyrano, Mrs Kyrano. Lovely to see you again,” “You too Parker,” The Kyrano women replied in unison. “Lady Penelope and Parker are good friends to the Tracy Family. Both Virgil and Scott assure me that she has excellence taste in clothes which is why I invited her,” Naomi introduced her friends to friends of her future family “They were not wrong – you look wonderfully amazing Lady Penelope,” “Thank you, Naomi,” Lady Penelope smiled “Our ride is awaiting ladies, I believe we need to get going,”
Linda Irwin was in the same high school class as Cameron Muter. Admittedly, she had hooked up with him during a few parties. Drunk. Sober. Tipsy. It didn’t matter. She lusted after him. Then college came. Or in Cameron’s case, the Navy or something water based organisation. They went their separate ways. Linda still lusted after him. She hadn’t seen him since high school graduation. At she hadn’t until two weeks ago. Cameroon looked much older but still looked has good looking as ever. It would be lying if Linda had said she didn’t want to take him right there and then to the alley behind her store. Making small conversation, Linda asked what had brought Cameron to the store. Was it to book a slot for his daughter so she could be beautiful for her wedding day? Cameron shook his head. Maybe it was for his future bride? Again, Cameron shook his head. He said his cousin’s daughter was friends with Naomi Winchester and he was double checking the date and time for the fittings for her. While there were obvious repercussions for sharing this information with outsiders given the nature of the bride’s new status in society, Linda saw nothing wrong with sharing with Cameron. She told him everything about the fitting – the number of people expected at the fitting, the time of the fitting and even which dresses Linda and her co-manager Jane were thinking about showing the party. Cameron thanked her for her time and left the store. Now she was waiting for that party. They were five minutes late. And so was Jane. “Sorry, sorry,” Jane apologised, coming to a stop next to Linda “My bus was late,” Public transport. Always unreliable. Always a good excuse. Linda huffed. “Just remember to lock it up tight. We have priceless dresses in here. Miss Winchester may choose a dress tonight and we do not want the Tracy bride to have her dress stolen,” “I have it under control Linda,” Jane said, “It wouldn’t be the first time we’ve had the rich and or famous come into our store,” Jane smiled sweetly. Linda rolled her eyes and left. Linda ran into a group of people coming into the store. “Watch where you’re going,” She hissed and pushed through the group.
Naomi came out of the dressing room for the third time. She did not like this dress. Too much poof. “No. Take it off,” Tin Tin said straight away “That is not you,” The rest of the group agreed. Naomi turned to the rack of dresses. She skimmed through the dresses. Naomi picked one from the rack. “I think this is the only one I want to try left,” She smiled and took a deep breath. Naomi went back into the dressing rooms. 10 minutes later, she came out. The dress she had chosen was tight fitting around the torso and waist and slowly became less skin tight as it went further down. It was strapless but the wedding party could see the white bra straps. “I think this is it,” Naomi declared “Just needs some straps but this is it,” “What about your scar?” Caitlin asked, “You never used to wear anything shorter than ¾ sleeves at college,” “Things have changed since college Kit,” Naomi smiled “And Virg and I decided on the date to be the same as the crash. And as much as I hate the crash, if the crash didn’t happen I wouldn’t have meet any of you guys. I wouldn’t have meet my best friend. I wouldn’t have meet my fiancé. I wouldn’t have meet the rest of my life,” “I’m so glad you liked it. We’ll get someone in at some point and we add the straps for you,” Jane said, smiling.
Cameron Muter was not above using Linda Irwin’s lust for his own advantage. The day after the Tracy bride’s fitting he popped into her shop again. He said his cousin’s daughter had left something behind after the fitting. Linda had no problem taking him to see the dress. It turns out that someone else had in fact left a clutch at the fitting so the employee with the group had kept the dress and the clutch together. This gave Cameron the perfect opportunity to place a bug into the dress. Eventually the bride would retrieve the dress and the bug would pick up location and sound. It would help The Voice with everything that was going down.

Fix a Heart 30
Chapter 30 - Best Day Of My LIfe
"What does an 8 month old wear for Halloween?" Val asked as he collected Bella out of her car seat. They were going Halloween costume shopping for the annual DWM Halloween party.
"A ladybug costume." Sharna said matter of fact as if it wasn't even a question.
"Oh, well then. And what are we being? Are we matching?" Val said as he settled the sleeping baby on his shoulder and wrapped her favorite blanket around her.
"I was thinking superhero-ish. And semi matching. Maybe couples?" Sharna said as she gathered the diaper bag.
"That works. So we know what we want for her and for us, we're just kind of hunting."
"Yeah, stroller?"
"Nah, She's out and I don't wanna risk moving her again. Unless you want it for the diaper bag."
"I'm good." Sharna said and then they headed into the costume store looking around. Sharna didn't need much for Bella at the store since her costume was going to be a black onesie with a red and black tutu and a headband.
"Spiderman." Val said seeing the costumes for the famed superhero.
"That's what you want for you?"
"What if that was both of us? There's different versions of Spiderman and so that way, you could be like one version and I could be a version. And plus it would get you into that sexy suit." Val said raising his eyebrows at his wife.
"You'd have to behave alllll night long." Sharna pointed out.
"Oh, as long as I get rewarded later in the evening, I definitely can make that happen."
"We'll see about that."
"Wait, does that mean you're on board?" Val said excitedly.
"If we can find the costumes, yes." Sharna giggled as Val kissed her before moving to look for the costumes they'd need. He was definitely excited about this year's plans. And considering some of the things he had agreed to be in the past for her, she was more than happy to let him take the lead on this one.
"Found them! I'll be black and you can be original." Val said presenting her with the two costumes. Hers was more sleek and form fitting while his was a little bulkier.
"They come with masks? That might scare the munchkin."
"They do but they aren't attached so we don't have to wear them. I think the suits will be enough. And now I have an idea. Will you hear me out on this one?"
"Oh boy, no conversation starts out good like that. But yes, I'll hear you out." Sharna said as she wondered through the aisles figuring she could get some ideas for the future.
"I think Bella should be a Spiderman too. We'd all match and it would be so cute. They had a little Spider-toddler outfit back there and it would be so cute babe. It came with a little mask which she wouldn't wear but it would be so cute. The bottom was a little sparkly skirt and the top was like a long sleeved onesie. I know you wanted a ladybug but can't we dress her up as a ladybug for trick or treat night?"
"Babe, we aren't even going trick or treating." Sharna said laughing. She didn't mind changing Bella's outfit but at the same time it was fun to give her husband a little bit of a hard time.
"Well no, but we're passing candy out and it's her first Halloween so we can dress her up for that. That way she matches us for the party and then she still keeps your idea.
"I mean.....I guess so." Sharna said turning her back to him so that he couldn't see the smirk on her face.
"Nevermind, it's okay. We can just keep her a ladybug." Val said slightly defeated.
"You are way too easy mister." Sharna said spinning around with a grin.
"Princess! Were you trying to trick me?" Val said in astonishment.
"Never, I would never do that to you." Sharna said heading towards the kids section where she found the costume her husband had been talking about. She searched for a few moments and found one that would fit Bella.
"You're doing it?!"
"Yeah, the ladybug was just something I found that I thought would be cute, nothing special or anything. I just wanted something easy that wouldn't aggravate her especially since the party cuts into bedtime hours."
"Makes sense, so you're okay with this outfit then? It's still pretty simple."
"Yeah, and we'll just find her some Spiderman jammies to take with us. If she gets cranky and we wanna change her to something cozy."
"Good plan, let's go do that now and then I'll take my two girls out to dinner." Val said with a grin as Bella started to wake up. The two kept going, getting the things they needed before checking out and heading to the mall to finish up.
The next two weeks flew by as it always seemed and it was finally the night of the party. Bella had just started rolling so Sharna got her dressed first before settling her under her entertainment center and moving to get dressed and do her hair. Peta and Shai would be coming over soon so they could go together. The guys were already there to help with the finishing details.
"Alright Spiderbaby, let's go wait for Aunt Peta and Shai-Shai." Sharna said gathering her little munchkin up. She thought for a second and took a quick selfie in the mirror before sending it to Val.
'Your Spider-Girls are ready for you. See you soon babe, we love you.'
"We're hereeeee!" Shai's voice yelled loudly up the steps making Bella startle slightly.
"It's okay sweet girl, it's just your cousin. He's excited to see you and for the Halloween party." Sharna said as she rubbed the little girl's back. She headed down the stairs to find her best friend and nephew waiting in the kitchen. Peta was attempting to keep Shai from charging up the stairs.
"Oh my dear goodness, you are sooooo cute!" Peta said immediately seeing Sharna and Bella.
"Why thank you?" Sharna said teasingly even though she knew Peta was talking to Bella. She let her scoop the little girl up from her and cuddle her. Bella fussed for a few moments reaching back to Sharna.
"Uh ho, what's wrong bug?" Peta asked as she danced her a bit.
"She's been fussy for the last 10ish minutes. I don't know what's wrong. Huh sweetie, nothing happened, she's been playing while I got ready and then was good while I dressed her."
"Hmm, just a grumpy bug right now." Peta said before handing the little one back to Sharna. She snuggled into her mother but continued to fuss.
"Well, this could be an interesting evening." Sharna said as she swayed slowly with Bella. The little one was very rarely grumpy so this wasn't something they dealt with often.
"Aunt Sharna...." Shai said pulling on her hip.
"Oh my god, I have a toy Woody talking to me!" Sharna said leaning down to take in her nephew. She held her hand out and he took it letting her spin him. "You even have a pull!"
"Isn't it awesome? Momma is Andy's mom! And Daddy is....well, he's Andy's dad. We don't really know what he looks like but he still is him."
"You all look awesome! And Evia even gets to participate!"
"She does, she's just hiding. It's right when Andy found out that he was going to have a little sister but I'm different cause I'm excited. Well I'm not really Andy. But she's still my little sister."
"Exactly. She'll be here before you know it." Sharna said looking up at Peta who was wincing at the moment.
"27 more days!" He said.
"Well, we hope. You okay P?" Sharna said as she watched Peta.
"Yeah, Evia is just extra active today and has been leaning against my back. I'll be okay. I just might need to sit out a bit on the dancing side of things tonight."
"You sure?"
"Yeah, I promise, come on, I think we need to get going." Peta said effectively changing the subject but Sharna knew better. She planned on making sure Maks knew something may be up. She went and grabbed the diaper bag with had a Spiderman sleeper in it for Bella incase she was over the costume and sleepy. That was most likely since her bedtime was typically in 2 hours and the party wasn't over til 3 hours later. Then they headed out. Peta didn't stop wincing while Bella didn't give up her protests especially when she was in the carseat. Shai tried his best to settle his cousin but it wasn't happening. Finally they arrived and headed in to find the guys.
"There's my Spidergirls." Val said appearing. "Oh my goodness and Woody!"
"Hi Uncle Val!" Shai said high fiving his uncle before heading off to find Maks. Peta sighed and followed after him.
"Uh ho, someone doesn't look very happy." Val said reaching for Bella.
"Yeah, the whole about last hour she's been like this. I don't know what's wrong." Sharna said as  she rubbed Bella's back while she snuggled into Val. Her little hand fisted into his top as she gripped him tightly.
"Hmm, she's a little warm. But you've said she's been upset so that could be why. Hopefully she'll settle." Val said automatically swaying.
"Let's hope. Umm, and I need to talk to Maks. Peta was wincing and stuff and she blew it off but I don't know. I just have a funny feeling about it."
"Okay, well, I don't think letting him know at any cost hurts. That girl is stubborn as they come." Val said shaking his head. He took the diaper bag off Sharna and led her back to where Maks was in the back office.
"Babe are you sure you're alright?" Maks was asking as the three walked in.
"She's been doing that since before she got to our house." Sharna inserted quickly.
"BABE!" Peta yelled in frustration.
"Hey, I just worry, that's all. I'm just glad he caught it too. I'd rather be worried about nothing than not care and it be something." Sharna said with a shrug.
"Whatever. I'm fine though. I promise. Both of you. It's just braxton hicks and Evia is pressing more on my back than usual." Peta said with another grimace.
"Only because I know you, I'm going to make you a deal. If you are still hurting at the end of the night, you let me take you to get checked." Maks said.
"Maksim, that's not fair. You know from experience that this happens and it could be nothing."
"I'm going to go out on a limb here and just say, I think you should agree to Maks's offer. You are really pale P." Val inserted.
"Fine whatever. If I'm still hurting at the end of the party, then you can take me. Let's go do this red carpet. My bug over there isn't going to make it much longer." Peta said.
"Yeah, I think we may have to do the carpet and then pajamas. Sorry babe." Sharna said knowing Val had been excited about the family Spiderman theme.
"It's okay. She's in it. She's adorable but I'd rather her be happy." Val said. The group went and did the carpet which was always fun especially with Shai now. He hammed it up for the photographers which were just hired by the studio. The carpet was just something fun and to have photographs of the event. After the carpet, Val and Sharna changed Bella who seemed to settle a tiny bit. The night wore on and Bella slept on Val. Finally it was over and everyone was heading home. Peta was feeling less pain so Maks conceded to just taking her home with the concession that she would solely rest tomorrow.
Sharna and Val got Bella home and tucked into her crib before they headed to bed themselves. They didn't get to sleep long though when an upset Bella woke the two up.
"I'll get her." Val said attempting to get Sharna to go back to sleep. However the cries Bella was giving weren't her normal love me, I'm sad cries. They were more scared and unhappy ones so Sharna followed her husband into Bella's room.
"What's wrong miss?" Sharna said softly as Val snuggled her in with her blanket. She continued to cry. o tried everything however the little one wouldn't settle. They finally took her temp and realized it was a bit high so they gave her a little Tylenol hoping that would help.
"You know, she could be cutting a tooth...." Val said as he realized that while crying, Bella was also chewing on her finger. Bella hadn't cut any teeth yet which they said wasn't too big of an issue just that she may cut a bunch all at once which would not be fun for the family.
"I didn't even think of that. Is that what's wrong baby? Are you getting your first tooth?" Sharna said as she ran her hand down Bella's head. She was currently snuggled into Val's neck, holding her lovey, wrapped in her blankie, and chewing her finger.
"I think that may be the culprit. She's never like this."
"You're right. Well the Tylenol should help her for awhile. Why don't we just keep her tonight? I'll run down and get a teether for her. I'll bet once the Tylenol kicks in, she passes right back out. We've never had trouble with her sleeping." Val agreed and took Bella to their room to settle in while Sharna went down for the teether. She fully expected them to be snuggled into the bed when she came back however Val was pacing the room while on the phone.
"Yeah, definitely, bring him over or would it be easier for us to come there. Yeah, no I know. Definitely alright, I'll see you in 20."
"What's wrong?" Sharna said immediately as she walked to her loves. She handed Bella the teether and she shoved it in her mouth and nearly sighed in relief.
"They are pretty sure Peta's in labor."
"What? Val, it's too early. And by pretty sure how pretty sure are we?"
"Umm, her water just broke. Now it is early but she's surpassed what would be the safe stage. At least that's what Maks says. Evia's lungs are developed and everything. She just may want to meet all of us early."
"Babe....." She said softly and it clicked that she was probably thinking of Rose.
"It's going to be okay princess. That's not happening again. Peta's safe. Evia's safe. They are going to the hospital and all the doctors and everyone will make sure of it." He said pulling her into him and Bella.
"You don't know those things. Anything can happen." She murmured.
"I don't and it can but we aren't going to think like that. Okay?" He said holding her tightly as he rested his lips on her head.
"Okay." She whispered, clinging to him.
"They are bringing Shai to us. And he is quite upset because well he's scared and he knows Halloween is in 2 days and he wanted to do the whole family trick or treat. Maks warned us we might have our hands full."
"Well, I mean I don't blame him and he's only 4 so that's hard. We already have this one with us so we might as well just keep him with us too. We can just put on a movie and treat it like a sleepover." Sharna suggested. They had a guest room and usually when Shai stayed with them, he at least started there in the evenings but tended to end up with them at some point.
"That works. Why don't we lay this one down before we go get him. I'm afraid he's going to be miserable and wake her up." Sharna nodded in agreement. They settled her in the middle of the bed and tucked pillows on either side of her before heading downstairs. Val settled the baby monitor on the end table before settling on the end of the couch and pulling his wife into him.
"I know what you said is the truth but I can't stop from worrying." She whispered into his chest.
"I know princess. And that's normal. I think you're going to worry more than most people would since you have a history with Rose but there's nothing wrong with that. Just don't let it consume you. And I'm right here if you need to talk or vent."
"Thank you for understanding." She said as she snuggled in a little tighter. There were so many people growing up or just in general anytime that she was nervous and they blew it off or told her to stop worrying. Even before she had everything happen with Paul she had been a general anxious person and it never failed to aggravate her when people more or less told her to get over it. It wasn't like one could just shut off this lingering buzz, it was just there and she was learning to deal with it. Thankfully, that wasn't something Val had ever done to her and she appreciated it more than anything.
Maks and Shai appeared in the living room then. Shai clinging tightly to his father as tears continued to stream down his face. Sharna and Val both stood up quickly moving to the two.
"Hey, how is she?" Sharna said as her hand rubbed Shai's back gently.
"A nervous wreck. Her contractions are about 7 minutes apart and we know they can't stop them since her water broke. And I don't blame him but she feels awful leaving him like this. I do too but I wish it went smoother all around."
"I know, us too. You want me too?" She said gesturing to Shai, they all knew if he was going to go easily to one of them it would be Sharna.
"Yeah one minute." Maks said before attempting to shift Shai so he could talk to him. Shai wanted no parts of it and just clung to him harder. "Alright buddy, I know you're scared and upset but I have to go with momma to the doctors. That way we can make sure she's and Evia are okay. You're gonna stay with Uncle Val and Aunt Sharna. I'm going to give you to Aunt Sharna now unless you want to pick. I love you little man."
Sharna moved forward to accept her nephew who clung fiercely to Maks. It took a good three minutes and a lot of coaxing before he went to Sharna. His tears continued to fall as he tried to get back to Maks.
"I'm gonna go. I'm sorry, thank you. I'll keep you posted and let me know if he doesn't settle. I don't know what I'll do but...."
"It's okay bro, just go do Peta and we'll get this one settled in. He'll settle I promise." Val said getting ready to lead him out. Maks came back and kissed Shai once more before heading out the front door. The minute it closed Shai freaked out and thrashed in Sharna's arms. She eventually had to put him down and he ran to the door.
"Nooooo daddy! Momma! Come back!" He wailed as he tried to get out of the house. Sharna's heart broke as she watched him.
"Hey, hey, come here buddy." She said as she moved closer to him, settling on the floor. She reached her hand out to him but he shrieked in protest.
"Shai buddy, we can't help you if you don't let us." Val said moving to the two.
"Momma!!!!!" He just wailed over and over again. There was nothing the two could do to help at that point so they say there helplessly letting him cry it out. At one point he started to gag, but nothing happened. However the gagging scared him more and started a whole new round of hysterics. Once they were certain he wasn't vomiting right then, Val left to get a garbage can just incase.
"Bring me a few books." Sharna asked thinking that maybe just reading to him would help. He had always loved being read to so maybe she could calm him down with that. Val nodded and headed off. He came back holding three books, a garbage can and Shai's abandoned elephant.
"Here, you think that'll work?" Val said sitting down next to her.
"I don't know. It's worth a shot." She said shrugging. She opened the first book "Dinosaurs Love Tacos" and began to read. She went through all the books once before starting back with the Dinosaurs book again. As she started that one, Shai's wails settled slowly. By the end he had moved closer to his aunt and uncle but tears still streamed down his cheeks.
"You want to come sit with us buddy?" Val asked softly watching his nephew. He watched his uncle carefully almost like he didn't know what to do. "You don't have to if you don't want. I just know when I'm sad or scared that sometimes I just like to cuddle with Aunt Sharna."
"You think about it. I'll start another book." Sharna said as she opened the second book, "Green Eggs and Ham" and started to read. Slowly Shai crept closer to Val eventually ending up in his lap. Sharna nearly sighed in relief. Shai was still super upset but at the same time, he was finally no longer wailing and shrieking.
"Babar." He whispered pointing to the last book. He reached for Sharna however so Val took over reading this time as Shai curled tightly into his aunt. She rocked her body back and forth as they listened. Her hand ran through his hair as she felt him finally stop crying. His body was still shaking against hers but his tears had stopped.
"Again." He said softly once Val had finished.
"Can we move up to our bed? Bella is up there, we were going to have a sleepover. You can pick a movie and we'll cuddle." Sharna explained.
"No sleep." He muttered.
"Okay, let's just snuggle okay?" She said. Val looked at her like she had lost her mind however she was assuming that once they got him snuggled and warm, he'd drift off.
"I can stay with you?"
"Definitely. We just have to be quiet cause Bella is sleeping. She's going to maybe get some teeth so she wasn't very happy." Sharna explained. Shai didn't have anything for that so she pulled him into her and waited for Val to stand who then helped her up. They headed upstairs and let Shai pick a movie, Air Bud before they settled in bed. Val settled Bella on his chest and let Sharna and Shai cuddle into his free side. It took a good bit but Shai finally passed out.
"I thought you were crazy when you said he didn't have to sleep." Val said looking at her.
"I figured once he settled enough the upset and day was going to catch up with him. It wasn't worth fighting on either. Not when we just got him calm."
"I've never seen him like that before. I wasn't really a fan. I hope that's something we don't have with this little angel."
"I think it happens. They are kids. They need to know they can be upset or scared or angry and allowed to feel that emotion. It's just like us as adults, how frustrating is it when people are like suck it up? Ya know? Just like I said earlier, there's so much validation in being allowed to feel what one needs to feel." She said with a shrug.
"And this is why you are the best mom." Val said leaning over to kiss her.
"I love you. Best dad." She said slithering some and resting her head on his shoulder.
"Sleep princess, I have a feeling tomorrow is going to be just as stressful." Val whispered. She nodded into him and after a bit he felt her become heavy against his shoulder. He knew she was out and with knowing that all three people in the bed with him were asleep as well, he drifted off as well.
********************************************************************************************
Sharna woke to soft whimpers coming from her baby laying on her husband's chest. He was whispering to her however it wasn't seeming to be working.
"Let me try." She said as she reached for her phone realizing that it was 9 am. They had all slept in way later than usual. "Or it's just time to get up."
"What about this one?" Val said as Shai continued to sleep peacefully.
"I say we let him sleep. He had a rough experience. And maybe once he's awake we'll know more." She had checked her phone quickly and they only had gotten 2 updates from Maks. One at about 2:30 stating they were letting the labor progress and then one at 6 saying that she had just gotten the epidural and was at about 7 cm.
"Let's hope. One of us should stay here with him until he's awake."
"Probably. Here give me my love bug. I'll go change her and get her bottle. Then come back. I'm assuming he won't sleep too much longer." She said. Val nodded and passed Bella over to her before shifting some, lying closer to Shai so he wouldn't notice if Sharna disappeared. Shai shifted into him as Sharna and Bella left. Val laid there holding his nephew as it hit him just how much he had grown up. He was still their little Shai but he really was growing into a great kid.
"Momma." Shai's sleepy voice said as he opened his eyes and they immediately filled with tears.
"Shh, buddy. It's okay. Daddy sent us a message and Momma is alright. We just have to be patient and Evia will be here soon." Val said sitting up and pulling Shai into him.
"She's okay?"
"Yup, she is. She's with the doctors remember? She has to be with them so they can make sure she and Evia are safe."
"Oh. Can we go see her?"
"Well, not until Evia comes. Once Evia comes Daddy will let us know and we'll go meet her okay."
"I miss her. And Daddy." Shai's lip trembled slightly as Sharna appeared in the door holding a babbling Bella.
"I know buddy and last night was scary but I promise you'll see her soon. In the meantime it looks like your little cousin is up and happy." Val said pointing towards the doorway. Shai's head turned and the smile on his face was beyond precious as he saw Bella.
"Bells! We sleeped over together." He said happily. Sharna grinned and moved over to the bed.
"You wanna help feed her?" Sharna asked. Shai's head nodded quickly as he settled against Val and held his arms out in the baby holding ready position. Sharna laid Bella in his arms and helped him give her the bottle. Bella was at the stage where she'd hold the bottle herself which was perfect for when Shai wanted to help. Sharna propped a pillow under the two as they sat there. He fed her the whole bottle before the group decided what they wanted to do that day. Shai asked if they could go to the zoo. Val and Sharna decided that was probably a great way to distract the little munchkin from what was going on.
They got the two dressed and headed out for the day. They took them to breakfast before heading to the zoo where Shai showed Bella all the animals before they went and had dinner in a restaurant near the one park, letting Shai and Bella both play on the playground equipment. They had gotten a few updates from Maks saying that Peta's labor had slowed down immensely, he said that if things didn't pick back up, they were discussing a c-section.
"What about Halloween?" Shai asked as they arrived back at the house. Bella was already conked out for the night however Shai was still wide awake. He had asked a million questions on the way home, some of which Sharna nor Val had answers for. They ranged in why do Zebra's have stripes to what their favorite animals were at the zoo to why it was taking so long for Evia to come.
"What about it buddy?" Val asked looking at his nephew in the rearview mirror.
"Trick or Treat is tomorrow. I know cause I only had 2 sleeps once we finished the party at the studio."
"You're right, it is, it's tomorrow afternoon. You're going to go with me and Aunt Sharna." Val explained.
"But...." He said as his lip trembled.
"I know you want momma and daddy buddy but they can't right now." Sharna said reaching her hand back to rest it on his knee.
"But we were going to be Woody and Andy's mommy and daddy. We always go as a group." His eyes filled with tears. Big crocodile tears started to slip down his cheeks. Thankfully they were pulling into the house so Sharna went out and got him while Val got Bella. Sharna pulled Shai into her arms and headed into the house. She settled in the recliner letting him curl into her.
"What if Uncle Val and I were Andy's mommy & daddy?"
"No! You can't take Momma and daddy's spots." He said immediately with such force that Sharna didn't even press the idea. She figured the idea of replacing his parents was a bit much for the little guy.
"What if we were a different group of people?" She said as her brain began to spin.
"What about my Woody costume?" He asked.
"Well, you got to wear it to the party and you have Halloween at pre-school next week so you get to wear it there. So you'd just have to be something different for this time with me and Uncle Val."
"And Bella?"
"If you want her to be in it, we can do that."
"I do. Who would we be?" He said with a yawn as he twisted into Sharna. He curled up into her neck as his hand wound into her ponytail.
"Hmm, I'd have to think buddy. Who would you wanna be? It would have to be something easy since we don't have a lot of time but we could figure it out. We could be The Cat in the Hat and Thing 1 & 2." Shai didn't respond so she kept rambling.
"He's out princess." Val said making his wife jump in alarm at his voice. "Sorry babe. I got Bella down and in her crib. Then I came to check on you two."
"We're going to be a different group with him. He wants Bella to do it too."
"Princess, I love you, but what are we going to do before tomorrow? It's at 12 tomorrow." He said looking at her with wide eyes.
"I know, I know. I just feel bad Val. I don't want to ruin his holiday. I figured we can look for groups that we may be able to find just regular clothes to mimic."
"We could do that. Why don't we put him in bed and then we'll research." He said holding his hand out to her. She nodded and let him pull her up.
"Do you think we should keep him again?" She asked as she shifted Shai against her.
"I think we should put him in the guest bed. We'll leave the night light on and the hallway light in case he wakes up scared. He's come into our room before so I think it's alright." Val suggested. He selfishly just wanted a little bit of time with his girl.
"Okay, let's get him in then. Can you grab me his pajamas? He'll be more comfortable. And his blanket and elephant?" She asked as they headed to the guest room. Val nodded and headed off. He returned with the requested items and they got Shai changed and tucked in. He stirred slightly so Sharna rubbed his back for a few minutes ensuring he was asleep. Then they headed to their room to get ready.
"Maks texted. Her labor picked back up however she's not dilated as quickly as they want. If she hasn't dilated by 9, they want to do a c-section." Sharna was just coming out of the bathroom from brushing her teeth and washing her face while was already situated in bed.
"Val...." She trailed off looking at him. In reality she knew this was a normal thing. Some babies were stubborn and took their time coming. Some came quickly. Some never came at all. However the fact that they were discussing different options about her best friend and soon to be goddaughter weren't okay.
"Come here princess. They are going to be okay." He said holding the blankets open for her. She moved into the bed and curled into him for a moment.
"But it's P. And Evia." She mumbled.
"I know. I know. We just have to pray and be patient." He said as his fingers ran through her hair. She hummed into his chest in acknowledgement however her grip on his body said she wasn't feeling any better about the situation than she had been before. "We need a distraction, weren't we going to look for the Halloween costumes."
"Yeah, you're going to help?" She asked looking up at him curiously. While he was fashion savy, he wasn't into the whole internet/pinterest thing that she was most likely going to be using.
"Well, I was going to cuddle you and look over your shoulder while you looked. And insert my opinion from time to time to ensure you don't put me into a leo and glitter."
"Now, would I really do that?" She giggled at his expression which clearly showed that he knew that she was more than capable of doing just that. He tickled her slightly before they switched positions and she moved so she could look while he watched. After a good half hour and a zillion ideas. They narrowed it down to 4 that Shai would probably like and were doable. They'd show him in the morning and then go get the supplies.
"I think it's bedtime princess." Val said as she yawned for about the 4th time in 5 minutes.
"I wanna wait for Maks." She protested.
"Babe, they are giving her til 9 am in the morning. It's 10:30. You need to rest. Either way, after costume making & trick or treat, we'll be going to the hospital."
"Fine. Will you rub my back?" She said curling into him. He chuckled and pulled her in a little more before his fingers started to run up and down her spine. He felt her shiver initially but then settle into him and his touch. She pressed her lips into his chest before mumbling she loved him.
*******************************************************************************************
The next morning they woke to babbles from the baby monitor and a little munchkin tucked in beside Sharna. Shai must have come in sometime during the night. It looked like he hadn't been upset, just needing extra love since he hadn't woken them.
"I'll go get Bells." Val said pressing a kiss to Sharna's head before removing the covers. He groaned at leaving the warm coziness but headed off to get his baby. He headed into her room and found her sitting up talking to her puppy. Her eyes lit up when she saw Val and she rose her arms to him.
"Aren't you oh so happy today. Did you know that today is the day that you're getting your new cousin? I think once you two get older, you'll be best friends." Val said as he changed her before going down to grab her bottle and then returning to the room.
"Uncle Val! Aunt Sharna won't show me the Halloween ideas until you and Bells are here. Hurry." Shai said from his place curled into Sharna.
"We're coming, we're coming. Oh wait, we forgot..." He said starting to turn around.
"Nooooo!" Shai let out.
"Just teasing." Val said turning around making Shai burst into giggles. Bella watched the interaction before she giggled as well. He moved and settled on the bed.
"Now Aunt Sharna?" Shai asked excitedly.
"Now buddy. Okay so Uncle Val and I looked last night for ideas that we could do. Especially since we don't have a lot of time and we're going to include Bella but these are your options. We have Dr. Suess & The Whos, Scooby Doo and the gang, Ninja Turtles, and Minions."
"That one." Shai said immediately pointing to the picture of Scooby Doo. Sharna had a feeling that one was going to be picked. He had started watching old cartoons with Maks one evening while they were spending some Daddy/Shai time. Shai had fallen in love with the crazy gang.
"You're sure?" Sharna asked.
"Yes! I love Scooby Doo! Can I be Shaggy?" He asked quickly.
"Yup, and I'm going to be Fred, Aunt Sharna will be Daphne, and Bella will be Velma." Val explained as he shifted Bella to burp.
"What about Scooby?"
"We have a stuffed Scooby we'll put in the stroller with Bella." Sharna explained.
"Whoa! So cool!"
"Definitely very cool. Now we have to go get the things. Do you want to go with me or stay here with Uncle Val and Bella?" Sharna asked.
"Can I come? I'm a good shopping helper." Shai said.
"You can definitely come, we need to get you showered though and then we'll go." Sharna said ushering the little one out of bed. He scampered into the bathroom where the two got ready. While they were in there, Val continued his snuggle session with Bella who was content to just ramble to him around her bottle. He talked back to her as if they were having a conversation. Once Sharna and Shai were dressed they  headed to find their costumes after a promise of donuts and smoothies for breakfast.
"Alright princess, let's go find something to do while they are gone." Val said. He headed downstairs and put some music on. Bella played around on the floor while he played with her. Now that she was rolling she was a little harder to keep an eye on but as she was getting older, her sweet personality was showing more and more. While Val loved their time as a family, there was something special about getting time with the little girl. Hearing her giggles and babbles that were especially for him in those moments were so precious.
Maks finally texted after 9 saying that Peta had progressed enough that they weren't going to do the c-section and that either way Evia should be there in a few hours. Val found out when they wanted Shai and them to visit and agreed to come by after they did lunch after trick or treating as long as the delivery went smoothly. Sharna and Shai returned home around 10 and the next hour was a flurry of costume creating and prep. Val and Sharna were both on high alert with their phones as well waiting for that important text.
"Alright Shaggy, are you ready?" Sharna asked as she fluffed out his hair once more. They had found a baggy green shirt and brown pants for Shai to wear. Sharna was sporting a purple dress that flared out at the hips. It was identical to Daphne but it matched well enough. She had found a lime green scarf and purple headband to complete her outfit. Bella had gotten little orange leg warmers with a red skirt and orange t-shirt. Val was wearing blue jeans with a white polo that he already had. Sharna and Shai had picked up some fabric  to make the ascot tie that Fred sported.
"Yup! Candy time! Is my sister here yet?" He asked for what felt like the thousandth time.
"Sorry, not yet buddy, daddy said soon though the last we heard." Sharna said as they headed to find Val and Bella. They were waiting in the garage since Bella had fallen asleep and Val had settled her in her stroller.
"I just want her to come already! Maybe after trick or treat." Shai said thinking. He laid the Scooby Doo he was carrying gently next to Bella.
"Okay, remember the rules, no running off, no eating the candy until we say it's okay, and always use your manners." Val reminded Shai as they started out. The neighborhood was milling with kids in all different costumes. Shai pointed out ones he liked. They made it through about 20 houses before Val and Sharna's phones buzzed simultaneously.
"Ahh!" Sharna said gasping while Val's face resembled the Cheshire Cat.
"What?!!" Shai said as he bounced next to the stroller.
"Guess what?" Val said finding his composure before Sharna did.
"My sister is here!" Shai said hopefully but you could see that he wasn't expecting it to be the right answer.
"She is!" Val said moving them off the sidewalk so he could show Shai the picture Maks had just sent.
"I'm a big brother! Hey that's momma holding her. She looks like me, doesn't she?" Shai said excitedly.
"She does buddy. She sure does."
"Can we go see them?"
"Daddy asked us to give Momma little time to rest so once we finish trick or treating, we're going to go to the house and then go get lunch. We'll go visit after okay?"
"How many is that?" Shai asked throwing Val off for a second.
"About 5 Scooby Doo's buddy." Sharna chimed in knowing what he was asking.
"Oh man! That's forever!" He said exasperated. Sharna giggled knowing the feeling. Now that Evia was here, she wanted to go snuggle the little one as well.
"It'll go quick I promise. Let's keep getting candy and that'll help." Val said moving Shai along. He agreed and the group finished out the rest of the 2 hour trick or treating slot. They made it to the house and all changed at rapid speed before heading to lunch. Finally it was hospital time. Maks texted Val and Sharna the instructions to the room as well as the visitors access code they were given.
"Remember, be quiet and gentle okay? With momma and Evia." Sharna reminded as they came off the elevators.
"I will. I will. I'm going to be the best big brother ever." He said holding Sharna's hand. They headed down the hallway until they found the correct room. The door was nearly closed so they didn't just head right in.
"Go ahead and knock munchkin." Sharna said. Shai moved forward and knocked gently.
"Come in." Maks's voice said gently. Shai nearly burst through the door but Sharna caught him quickly and gently reminded him to be easy. He then headed in at a slower pace but tackled Maks as soon as he realized his arms were free.
"Daddy!" He said jumping into Maks's arms.
"Bubby." He said holding him tightly. "I missed you."
"Momma." Shai said next as he realized his mother was right there as well.
"Hi bubby, I missed you so much. We have someone who wants to meet her big brother." Peta said as she shifted the pink bundle in her arms.
"Evia." He said as Maks gently set him on the bed. He moved closer to Peta peering closely at the little baby. "She's so tiny."
"She is. She's a little extra tiny since she was so excited to meet us." Peta explained.
"She was. I think she looks like me. I'm your big brother Evia. I'm going to protect you like I protect Bella. Momma and Aunt Sharna said you two will be best friends like them and I think they are right which is pretty cool. I love you Evia. I can't wait to play with you. Momma, can I hold her?"
"You can baby. Here can come sit right here next to me. And hold your arms out. I know you know how to hold Bella but since Evia is so tiny we have to make sure we support her neck so I'll help you okay?" Peta explained. Maks took Evia while Peta helped Shai get settled. She stole a quick hug and kiss from her little boy before they were fully ready.
"I'm ready daddy." Shai said softly. Maks placed Evia in his waiting arms and everyone watched as Shai held his little sister finally. He talked to her softly much like he would with Bella. Eventually he decided his arms were tired so Maks took her back. Shai snuggled in with Peta while Maks brought Evia to Sharna and Val.
"Evia, these are your godparents and your cousin. We see them pretty much everyday so I'm sure you'll see them lots and lots." Maks said with a chuckle.
"She's so precious. I need to snuggle my new lovebug if it's okay?" Sharna asked.
"I think she'd like that. But Uncle Maks wants some Bella cuddles. That way you two can see Evia."
"You mean I have to share?" Val teased. Sharna swatted him gently as she shook her head. Maks handed her the little girl and Sharna cuddled her in gently as she took in the tiny thing. Bella reached for her uncle making that transition easy. Val led Sharna to one of the chairs and pulled her down with them so they could both meet Evia together.
"So we have a question." Peta said looking at the two. She was a little nervous because she wasn't sure how this would go over. It could go great or it could be the worst idea ever. Maks moved over to her knowing she was nervous and slipped his hand into hers.
"What's up babe?" Sharna said looking at her friend in concern.
"Well, I know we told everyone we were going to name her Evia May which was after you but we would like to change her middle name to something different."
"Oh...well...that's...that's fine." Sharna said thrown off slightly. Not that it mattered but it was just a weird thing to change.
"Well, wait, that's not really the question. The question is the middle name we picked." Peta explained and she could see it click with Val before it registered with Sharna what they were going to ask. He wrapped his arm around his girl tighter knowing exactly why Peta was nervous. Sharna could either appreciate this or hate it but either way it was beyond the sweetest gesture.
"What...well, what name did you pick?" Sharna said as she watched the two closely.
"We'd like to name her after your little girl. So if you're okay with it. Her name would be Evia Rose."
"P." Sharna said with a gasp as her eyes filled with tears.
"I'm sorry, we don't have to use it if you don't want to. I knew it was a bad idea to ask, forget I asked. We'll keep it as Evia May. I'm sorry babe. I'm sorry, I, well we, just thought it would be a perfect way to honor Rose and her memory. I know they can't meet but if they could I know all of them would be best friends. So this keeps her with them still. But I get it, it's okay. We didn't put it in writing yet because we wanted to get your okay first."
"I....I love it." Sharna said as her tears started to fall.
"Oh, wait, what?" Peta said making the guys laugh nervously.
"I love it, so much. I can't believe you guys would want to do that. I appreciate it more than anything. Are you sure you want to do that?"
"We'd be honored." Maks said.
"Welcome to the family, Evia Rose Chmerkovskiy. We all love you so much already."  Sharna whispered as she looked down at the little girl. She felt Val's arm around her body and his lips at her temple.
**That's a wrap! I hope the wait was worth it. It's extra long to make up for the drought. Don't forget to like it up and let me know what you thought in the comments (which I have been slacking at responding to lately but I promise once I stop being a hot mess at life I'll be better) Love you guys! I apologize for the spelling errors. It's after midnight and I've been rocking since 5:30.
