satoru had never been a gentle child. even during gestation he gave his mother hell, plaguing her with chronic backaches and debilitating nausea. she could hardly stomach any food, leaving her bed-ridden and exhausted. the pregnancy weakened her body significantly; this young, promising sorcerer was reduced to a shell of who she once was. after more than 26 hours of excruciating labor, satoru's mother unfortunately lost her life in exchange for his.
his father despised him for it and never hesitated to express his distaste for satoru's survival. itsuki gojo never held his son even when he stood beside his wife's deathbed as satoru screamed relentlessly in the wetnurse's arms. despite the tragedy, one thing held true. when satoru opened his eyes for the first time, they glowed a crystalline blue- the gojo family had once again been blessed with the gift of the Six Eyes.
while his relatives mourned and breathed their sighs of relief, other sorcerers toasted to satoru's birth. members of the other prominent clans showered the family with gifts and well-wishes. people were desperate to get a look at satoru, to gaze upon the rarity that was the Six Eyes. the world seemed to center around this motherless white-haired baby boy whose father resented his sheer existence.
itsuki gojo saw his son as a killer. this tiny little blue-eyed boy was unloved by his father because, in his eyes, satoru had taken her away from him. he lost his wife and gained a powerful position in a family he had no love for. this mental instability paired with such a sudden increase of power was a deadly combination. his moods were often fickle and he was generally unpleasant to be around. itsuki was protected only by tradition, but that’s not to say that the family respected him. his neglect of satoru was no secret.
itsuki gojo had been dead last in the line of succession for becoming head of the family. he had married into the family and his wife had been the last grandchild born to the youngest son of the current head. he had zero hope of ever climbing to the top, not to mention the death of his wife, which had brought shame to his branch of the family. regardless of the clan's resistance to itsuki, satoru's gift made him the head when he came of age. until then, however, his father would be the one to do the job in his place. this meant that satoru seldom saw him save for at family dinners or when the gojos would host important officials in their home. satoru did not see the man as his father, only knowing him as such because that's what everyone told him.
the world began to change rapidly with the birth of satoru gojo. the Six Eyes was a flaming target on his back, not only for curses but for other threats as well. his head fetched a high price in the darker places of the jujutsu world which seemed only to increase as the years passed. satoru was placed under constant supervision for the first five years of his life, per his father's orders. it was less that itsuki cared for the wellbeing of his son and more that his position depended on satoru's survival.
his position as head of the clan was at stake if satoru didn't present with the Limitless technique. of course, the Six Eyes was a powerful gift by itself, but the family was eager to see whether had inherited both the techniques. the whole clan held its breath as satoru's infancy and early childhood crept on by. it had been 400 years since a gojo had been born with both the Limitless and the Six Eyes. it would make satoru the strongest sorcerer alive; his power would be unparalleled by anyone.
if his son didn't receive those traits, itsuki's position as head could be jeopardized from the disappointment. not to mention the amount of enemies he already had in other branches of the family. they saw him as an outsider and he was not a pleasant man to be around. tradition was the only thing keeping him in charge. it would shame him further, and this fear of rejection brewed into an obsession with satoru once he turned four.
on his fourth birthday, satoru's father asked his aunt kaede to bring him to his office. satoru thought it was strange; his father never asked to see him. itsuki was desperate to see whether his son would present with the Limitless. he brought gifts and sweets for satoru and ask him all sorts of funny questions, a lot of which made him laugh. satoru started looking forward to these visits, always accompanied by his aunt kaede.
satoru was cared for almost exclusively by his aunt, who, unbeknownst to him, was a spitting image of his mother. she thought of him as her own, and had spent every moment of the pregnancy by her sister's side as she grew consistently sicker and weaker. she wept every night after putting satoru to bed, screaming at the sky until her throat hurt, wondering why the world had taken her sister away.
the jujutsu world was cruel, deadly, and unforgiving. the price of strength and success as a sorcerer was often one's morality, and while satoru had a tendency to stir up trouble, not once had he ever felt the need to delve into the dark. he credited this to the promise he made his aunt kaede. "be strong for me."
satoru's 5th birthday came and went, making him the prime age for technique presentation. his father still interacted with him, so much so that satoru began to warm up to him a bit. he didn't know that itsuki was giving him the attention because he was studying the boy, not because he loved him.
when satoru was almost six years old, the Limitless technique hadn't even suggested that it would befall him. visits with his father had become more and more frequent, but they were different from before. there were no snacks or playful questions, just silence as his father walked circles around him after telling him to stand still. it was confusing, and satoru realized that his father never smiled at him. it was the beginning of the end, as satoru would understand later.
there was one time in particular that satoru would never be able to forget. his father called him down to his office like usual, but when he got there, the man was livid. kaede waited by the door as always, never to speak, only to watch over satoru because she didn't trust the man with the boy she saw as her own son. but satoru's father began yelling, red-faced and angry, demanding to know why he didn't have a technique. itsuki accused his five-year-old son of keeping his presentation a secret and when satoru tried to defend himself, his father struck the side of his face with his fist.
aside from medical exceptions, the pain tolerance of a child is not developed in the way as that of an adult's. satoru let out a scream as he crumpled to the floor. behind him, he heard a strangled cry escape from kaede, which only worked to frighten him further. tears blurred his vision as the pain seared through his cheek. worse than that, however, was the betrayal of his father. up until then, satoru had believed his father loved him in the way that a parent should. alongside the bruises on his body, the most painful ones were on his heart.
“get out,” his father seethed. the hatred in the man’s brown eyes was a sight that satoru would never be able to forget.
before he could even think to move, satoru was being swept up by kaede and rushed away to his room. he cried so hard that he couldn’t breathe as he clung to kaede as though she was the only thing tethering him to this earth. she settled him down on his bed and brought him an icepack while rubbing small, soothing circles on his back.
“you need stitches,” she said with a sad expression.
stitches? he’d never heard of that before, but the caution in kaede’s tone frightened him. even at a young age, satoru’s perception was impeccable.
“will it hurt?” he asked in a small voice.
aunt kaede shook her head. “we’ll numb you. don’t worry, satoru; you’re strong.”
that was the first time his father struck him. and kaede lied- the stitches hurt so badly that it made him cry again, but his aunt held him that night until he finally fell asleep.
no one could stop itsuki from abusing his son. kaede was forbidden to accompany satoru on the visits to his father’s office, which all ended the same as the last. gone were the days of his early childhood when he lived in ignorant bliss. he was completely and utterly helpless as itsuki stared at him, demanded he show his technique, and when he couldn’t, the boy received a blow.
“you’re weak,” his father said once after hitting him so hard that he nearly lost consciousness. “just like your mother.”
satoru began to plan his escape in secret, even hiding it from his aunt kaede. he was incredibly intelligent and it was shaping up to be a solid plan. it all came crashing down, however, when kaede told him she had to leave.
in lieu of his Six Eyes, satoru's keen sense of perception extended to the emotions of others. even at a young age, he was able to read people quite well. one night while she was putting him to bed, satoru noticed how sad his aunt looked and asked her what was wrong. kaede opened her mouth to respond only to burst into tears, scaring satoru so badly he almost did, too. his aunt, so kind and loving, broke down into pieces as she told him she was leaving.
satoru hated crying. even though he knew kaede wouldn't punish him for it, his instincts made him clam up as he fought back tears.
"it's going to be okay, satoru," she said, lowering herself onto the bed by his feet.
hurried, desperate words spilled out of him as the unshed tears stung his eyes. "why?" he cried. "why are you leaving me with him?" please, take me with you.
she reached over and placed a hand on the side of his cheek and smiled at him through her tears. "you are so strong. i love you, satoru. do you know that?"
satoru nodded as the floodgates burst and tears streamed down his face and dripped onto the comforter. she pulled him toward her and wrapped her arms around his small, shaking frame. "be strong for me, satoru." they stayed that way for a while as he sobbed into her shirt until she said she couldn't stay any longer.
she pulled the door behind her, and as it clicked shut, so did satoru's heart. he'd find out much later that it had been his father's doing; he sent her away because he believed that being in her care would make him into a weakling. to this day, satoru still doesn't know if she's alive or not.
his sixth birthday came at last, but it was not an event of celebration. the family had begun to look down on him as a disappointment, not bothering to care for him as kaede had. holding the Six Eyes was not enough, and itsuki had descended into true madness. just as usual, satoru was summoned to his father’s office, body trembling in preparation for what was coming.
“satoru,” said his father. “i am so disappointed in you.”
satoru was never allowed to speak unless his father asked him a direct question, so he stood there, shaking violently while itsuki circled him as usual. “you’re running out of time,” he said, and his voice took on that cold, lifeless tone it did when he was growing angry. satoru knew what that meant, and his body tensed all over. his throat began to tighten with the fear that always made unshed tears sting his eyes. he squeezed them shut, so afraid to show that he was about to cry-
but the pain didn’t come. instead, there was this feeling of static electricity prickling at the side of his face. satoru opens his eyes hesitantly, wondering what was happening, to see that his father’s hand stopped just half an inch from his cheek. he’s looked just in time to see the absolute shock on itsuki’s face.
his brown-eyed father clenched his jaw and let out an irritated grunt. “congratulations, son,” he said. “your life is about to get a whole lot worse.”
it’s the Limitless, satoru realized, and complete relief flooded through his body. tears of freedom, of salvation, of pure alleviation spilled down his face in streams as he let out a crazed laugh. he stared his father in his face as he said,
“you’ll never touch me again. and one day, i’m going to kill you.”

Tumblr media
·   Both Yoongi and Jimin are lonely
·   But different type of lonely
·   First off – Yoongi
·   To sum it up – Yoongi comes from a broken family where his mom died from brain cancer and his father turned into an alcoholic after her death
·   Yoongi was four at the time
·   Growing up motherless and with an alcoholic father – he became very angry at the world and hated almost everyone
·   In school he’s known as the quiet, but angry kid because of outbursts he has when people push him to far (which doesn’t take a lot from him)
·   But the one person who didn’t push him to far was jimin
·   Jimin bonds with Yoongi on a personal level, and he is very fond of the fairy like boy
·   They met in sociology
·   Btw yoongi is 26
·   I will get to the age thing when I talk about jimin – so one second
·   So yes, he graduated from high school and was trying to live a life of his own, which backfired on him due to turning.
·   Speaking of turning
·   When he turned, he cut all ties with Jimin after this – which hurts both of them
·   But let’s take a look at Jimin’s life
·   So Jimin comes from what others would call a ‘perfect family’
·   Jimin can admit that his family can be considered perfect
·   But jimin does not feel as if that he belongs in his family
·   Coming from a family that is very successful and considered to be ‘perfect’ jimin feels very pressured
·   Everyone has high expectations for Jimin so Jimin always puts a fake smile on and does everything in his power to please
·   From this, he becomes severely insecure and develops depression and an eating disorder
·   When Jimin was a Junior in high school and Yoongi was a senior, they both have sociology and they sat next to each other
·   Que love at first sight
·   Truthfully the both of them did not know what it was, but they know that there is this c e r t a i n bond between them
·   So when Yoongi became distant towards jimin, Jimin becomes very depressed and closed himself off
By the way, Jimin is now out of high school and so is Yoongi
They’re both in college with the pack*
But when they accidentally ran into each other when they both were in the woods, Yoongi felt something weird, the weird that Namjoon explained when he first met his imprint
It clicked to him and then
BAM
Yoongi imprinted on Jimin and they have reunited
I am going to give a more insider on this in a seperate one shot
But just know that this was a very cautious beginning for the two of them because of Jimin’s insecurities and Yoongi’s change.
Eventually, mainly a month later Jimin changed and that cleared things up for the two
Wolf Descriptions
Yoongi is the beta of the pack and is badass
When Yoongi changed, Namjoon really helped Yoongi by calming him down and reassuring him that everything’s fine
Form the first meeting, Yoongi felt a connection (alpha and pack one) to Namjoon and found a fondness and closeness to the alpha
Like in Jungkooks one shot, Yoongi indeed does have an all black coat that allows him to blend into the night to the point even those who have the greatest eyesight cannot even see him
Yoongi jokes about how his fur coat represents how he has no feelings or soul
Yoongi’s Wolf is also his best friend (like how it’ll be for every member)
But his wolf helps him cope better because his wolf Dagny, helps Yoongi stop and take a breath kind of deal
But if the situation is where either both Jimin and you (imprint) are threatened or harmed, or anything in that aspect, better pray for that person because Yoongi is similar to Paul in this area - there’s literally no way to get Yoongi calmed unless it’s either his imprint or Jimin coaxing him.
As for Jimin - Sereperindity vibezzzzz - fur color = blonde.
Jimin’s Wolf is actually kind of smaller than everyone else’s
To a human he seems gigantic but when he’s in wolf form standing next to everyone else he has a smaller frame
But one thing that comes out of this is that he is able to maneuver through trees and is a lot quicker
Just like everyone else, Jimin’s Wolf is his safety and his wolfs name is Neon
Whenever he is feeling emotional or insecure he turns into his wolf so he is able to cope and talk to someone
Even tho he has you and yoongi, his bond with his wolf is something that both you and Yoongi can’t have with jimin
Okie that sounded harsh, but ya know what I mean?
Thankfully both you and Yoongi understand this and aren’t jealous of it and are actually happy for Jimin to have someone to turn too and have a good coping mechanism.
Imprint:
Okay, FYI - everything is still based in college (I think I forgot to mention that)
So, Yoongi and Jimin are both in the same classes (Yoongi actually went behind Jimin’s back when he enrolled because he wanted to be in every class with Jimin).
Jimin wasn’t thrilled but he couldn’t deny his fluttering heart at this
But y’all meet in Developmental Psychology on the first day
I wanna be cliche hehe
But you ran into both Jimin and Yoongi as you were turning a corner which led to the class
You heard a growl *damnit yoongi* which scares you into a stuttering mess
And as you looked into Jimins eyes,
BAM
imprint
Yoongi also felt this too because of the bond
Que guilty Yoongi and Dagny
But you did feel something but you were severely intimidated by the two BTS members so you ran off
Both Jimin and Yoongi wanted to chase after you but they both also didn’t want to force the bond onto you
So being causal, they both sat by you
They totally did not sniff the air for you backpack (lmaoooooo)
So when you found out that they were sitting by you, you definitely tried to move seats but with your luck, they both glared at anyone to the point where those would put their bags in the seat next to them
You sighed, which made them feel bad because they could feel the anxiety you radiated, but eventually you gave in and sat down
They totally feel really bad
During the lecture they stared at you to the point you snapped
“Can you please stop staring at me, I’m trying to concentrate.”
You were shocked from how they listened to you automatically
You apologized for sounding rude - you just want to focus on your studies
After class they asked to talk to you
Talking meaning Jimin rambling to you while Yoongi is quietly staring at you adoringly
Basically all you could comprehend is jimin asking to be friends
To which you agreed
Okay I’m trying to save everything for the one shot
Anyways
You balance both Jimin and Yoongi due to their insecurities and their demons
You’re the reason why they now wake up everyday
1 because they want to make you happy
And 2 - you make them want to wake up
Of course they both felt like this before they found you
But they now have another reason , and also because the thought of you finding someone else haunts them
You CONSTANTLY have to remind that YOU LOVE THEM!!
Also that you’re their damn imprint and that you could never, couldn’t want to love anyone else like you love them
They also don’t realize how much they help you
Especially by when your anxiety gets bad
They’re the only outlets you have when it comes to your anxiety
Sometimes you do feel like you came crashing into their life and interrupted the relationship and you do sometimes feel like you’re left out
Once those two found about those feelings
Love ….. you sure were attacked by reassurances and love by them
You truly don’t realize how much you help them
It’s so disgustingly fluff that the pack sometimes feel like they’re watching a Hallmark movie lmao
It’s so cute
So in all - you complete them and they complete you.
It’s a balanced relationship with open communication and help/love
No one is left out and no one feels alone
I want to be in a poly relationship with Jimin and Yoongi :(

Can you do scenario or headcanons for Ciel Phantomhive when his s/o finds out she's pregnant and then manages to escape? If not, that's fine!
I sure can! I’ll do a scenario then~
{All are aged up! Ciel is 26 and his s/o is 23}
Ciel, for the better half of the first month of your pregnancy, was believe it or not ecstatic! He was finally going to have an heir to the Phantomhive estate! Someone, who he could teach and help grow.
But he was also nervous... would he be a good father? Of course, he was! He had Sebastian, Mey Rin, Bard, and Finn-
Oh gods no, he wasn’t letting those three idiots near you or the baby for a looonngg time. Tanaka... perhaps.
And of course, he had you. You had come such a long way from when he first met you... You’d always find an escape, though Sebastian was always there to catch you.
Sometimes Ciel, being as cruel as he was would let you get away for a day... letting that hope you had of finally leaving run through your veins. Only to be found by Sebastian, and carried back, draining all of that hope away from you.
It had worked. After the first 30 times of escaping, you started to dwindle down... it had been a full year in a half since your last attempt.
A smirk crossed Ciel's face, as he looked down at the garden below him. You sat on the swing Ciel had commissioned just for you. What a pretty little wife he had.
The knocking at the door snapped him out of his thoughts. Sebastian came in and bowed to his master. It opened to reveal Sebastian
“What is it? Ciel asked, disappointed his butler ruined his nice moment.
“The Kenways are here sir, to discuss the merging of Kenway shipping lines?” Sebastian almost let a sly smile, noticing the disappointed look on his masters face.
Ciel sighed and started to walk towards the meeting room, and his butler following suit.
(Y/n)’s eyes shot up to where Ciel once stood, above the garden. Your eyes flicked around, cautiously... a hand on your ever-growing belly.
The Kenways were your salvation out of here. Away from this place... away from HIM.
Little did Ciel, or even Sebastian know, one of the Kenways was a dear friend of yours. Claira Kenway and you grew up together...
She lived in the house right below yours. Being motherless orphans, you two grew close... that is until one day a man showed up, claiming to be her father.
But you shook your head. There was no time for reminiscing.
The sudden movement froze you for a moment until you noticed, it was a homing pigeon. Her, homing pigeon. You carefully called at it, clicking your tongue. It flew from its perch on the statue to in seconds.
Petting the pigeon you sneakily grabbed the note and read it silently...
My dearest friend (y/n). As soon as you hear the boom, run deep into the forest behind you. Find a large waterfall. I will be waiting with a new pair of clothes and a new life...
Love you to the moon at back, Claira.
“A... a boom? What in the world could she me-”
From the kitchen below the manor, you could only describe what you heard to be a loud boom. If it wasn’t for the fact you knew this wasn’t an explosion that Bard had created, you would have simply rolled your eyes. You lept up and dashed into the forest.
You ran and ran until you heard the rushing of water. You ran even faster, completely forgetting about the child you held in your womb. A beautiful and serene waterfall came into view.
You smiled like you hadn’t in years... Salvation...
The gaping maw of the waterfall would have scared you before... you were terrified of water...
“Claira?” You whispered, harshly.
Then you looked behind the waterfall, and into the cave... and screamed.
Clairas dead, mangled corpse lay on the ground.
“No... no no no...” You sobbed, kneeling on the ground next to her body.
“Did you really think you could escape, my darling?”
You refused to turn around... to put a face to that voice. That of which forced you into being nothing but a submissive wife.
You felt his hand on your shoulder. His blue ring showing your red, tear-stained face. Like it was mocking you...
“My love... you can never escape...”

Name: Anastasya Pakarina Age: 26 Occupation: Hunter/Assassin (can have another occupation)  Sexuality: Hetrosexual Powers: None Alliance: Bad FC: Nina Dobrev
Content Warning: Mention of Murder/Violence
Born in St. Petersburg, Russia, Anastasya grew up with an unusual home situation. Her father, Gennady, was a mafia boss, head of one of the most well-known mafias in Russia. His men were always in and out of her home, running errands and completing her father’s dirty work. Her mother, grew to loathe the life of a mafia boss’s wife. She decided to leave her husband and three children behind. She was only five years of age when she last saw her mother. Even though she grew up motherless, growing up in the home of a mafia boss had its perks. No one would dare cross paths with young Anastasya. They were too afraid of her father and his men. And they were also afraid of her overprotective older brothers, Vitaliy and Dmitriy.
The life of a mafia boss’s daughter seemed normal to Anastasya. She was used to the frequent visits of her father’s men. She was used to witnessing murders. She had even committed several of her own over the years. Guns were as common in her house as were lamps; and drug dealings were also an everyday occurrence in her life. It was just another day in the life of Anastasya Gennadyevna Pakarina. She craved the danger, especially when she discovered the truth behind those her father and his men killed. She was eleven years of age when she learned the victims of the mafia weren’t normal. Her father and his men didn’t kill humans. They targeted the mutant population of the world. That’s right, mutants. Apparently, there were people living amongst the humans that possessed special abilities that made them a threat to the rest of the population. And it was the job of families like the Pakarins to put an end to them. They weren’t just mafia men. They were trained assassins, hunters of the non-humans; and Anastasya was about to join them.
Unfortunately, Anastasya’s life took a turn for the worse when she was fifteen. One day, she and her two brothers came home to a scene they would never forget. Their house was a mess. Windows were broken. Priceless items were gone. But the one scene that would haunt Anastasya the most was that of her father, sprawled out on the dining room floor in a pool of his own blood, two bullets in his abdomen and one through his brain, the words MUTANT SUPREMACY written in blood on the wall. Even though she had seen countless dead bodies over the years, her father’s was one of the last ones she expected to see. She had been toying with the idea of leaving the family business of being an assassin; but after that night, she knew what she had to do. She had to dedicate the rest of her life to finding and destroying any and all mutants that got in her way. She would avenge her father’s wrongful death.
That’s how she found herself in Portsmith, Washington. It was one of the safe towns set up by the United States government to house both humans and mutants together in harmony. The idea sickened her; but she thought it would be a great opportunity to continue her training and get some more kills under her belt. Leaving her brothers behind in her beloved Russia, she enrolled as an exchange student at Portsmith College and headed off to America in search of her next victim.

Rayna Bilden [acquaintance]: Anastasya doesn’t know what to think of Rayna. She knows the girl is a reporter; and she knows the girl doesn’t back down from asking a million and one questions about the life of a mutant hunter. Even though she finds the blonde irritating and nosy, Anastasya can’t help but agree to meeting up with her and discussing her opinions on the integration. She also gets a kick out of feeding Rayna false information.

New from Kevin Wozniak on Kevflix: Best of the 2019 Chicago International Film Festival
The 55th Chicago International Film Festival has officially come to a close.  Over the last twelve days, the festival showed numerous films from all different genres with various budgets from a number of different countries from all around the world.  This is an incredibly diverse film festival and every year I am honored to attend it.  I saw 26 films at this year’s festival and I would say it was a very good year at the festival.  There were a number of great films I saw this year, including my favorite movie of 2019 so far.  There were also no films that I truly disliked or hated.  There were a few flawed ones, but none that I would truly consider a “bad” movie.  Here are my picks for the best movies and performances from the 55th Chicago International Film Festival.
          TOP 5 FILMS
5 – WAVES (Trey Edward Shults)
Trey Edward Shults most ambitious film to date is an emotionally exhausting look at parenting, family, the pressures of growing up, and how to handle tragedy.  This is a gorgeous film filled with stellar acting and great music choices.
4 – MARRIAGE STORY (Noah Baumbach)
Noah Baumbach’s finest film to date is a heartbreaking and realistic look at one couple’s divorce featuring great writing and brilliant performances from Adam Driver and Scarlett Johannson.
    3 – FORD V. FERRARI (James Mangold)
A true American sports movie, Ford v Ferrari is an exhilarating racing film featuring top-notch direction from James Mangold, a smart screenplay, and a pair of excellent performances from Matt Damon and Christian Bale.
2 – KNIVES OUT (Rian Johnson)
A slick, twisty, wildly entertaining whodunit from Rian Johnson featuring the best ensemble of 2019 and an ending you have to see to believe.
1 – THE IRISHMAN (Martin Scorsese)
Smart, compelling, funny, and tense, with outstanding performances from Robert De Niro, Al Pacino, and Joe Pesci, and jaw-dropping usage of the de-aging technology, The Irishman is a bold new gangster classic from Martin Scorsese and the best movie I have seen in 2019.

okay so i officially revamped devon. changed her fc, and last name. other than that, nothing has really changed about her. most of her background is still 100% the same. but i did add some more facts about her! as well as a possible connections section.
( im yoonah, she/her ) — did you see devon rhee walking through the streets of forks? the 26 year old witch has been in town for her entire life. people in town seem to say that they're hard working and smart, but i’ve definitely seen them acting pretty envious and judgemental, too. hopefully they don’t cause too much trouble in town.
Tumblr media
BASIC INFORMATION
FULL NAME: devon lynn rhee             NICKNAME(S): dev             PREFERRED NAME(S):  dev             BIRTH DATE:  march 30th, 1992             AGE:  twenty six             ZODIAC: aries             GENDER: female             PRONOUNS: she/her             NATIONALITY: american             ETHNICITY: korean             OCCUPATION: interior designer/ mechanic             CURRENT LOCATION: forks, washington             LIVING CONDITIONS:  currently living in a three bedroom house that she renovated herself.
BACKGROUND
   - born four months early in the small town of forks, devon was four months premature. being born that early only meant that devon would be in the hospital for four months. those four months ended up being a living hell for her parents.
   - from being not completely developed, to having to have multiple surgeries, it was a long four months. though once getting through that, and once she was healthy enough, devon was able to come home.
   - a year after she was born, her mother left her and her father.  with devon being only one, she truly didn’t understand anything about that.  all that was known was that devon didn’t have a mother now. she was motherless
   - for the first few years of her life, it was her father who had to take care of her alone. from getting her ready for school and so on.
   - when she was around six years old, her father started to date. the woman he started dating almost instantly started to help with devon. and devon started to look to her as a mother figuree. someone in her life now who would be her mother. which turned true a year later when she and devons father married.
   - in a way, devon bonded with her, and when she finally became her mother, devon was happy. she was even more happy to know she would be gaining three older siblings. two brothers and one sister.
   - when she turned ten, her magic started to show. at first, her father did his best to teach her. it wasn’t until her step mother, who was also a witch, stepped in to help. that was when she really started to grasp the concept of magic and so on.
   - during her high school years, she was on student council.  she was also on the girls soccer team too.  after graduating, she went on to going to UCLA. though the summer before going, she stayed in town to help out at her dad’s auto repair shop. as well as help her step mother out with interior designing.
-when it came time to leave, she packed up what she could and headed down to UCLA. for four years, she studied there. though it was during her second year that she declared interior design her major. she ended up graduating with a degree in that and a minor in culinary arts.
   - returning home, she ended up moving back in with her parents only to save money. once she saved enough, she ended up buying a fixer upper and renovated the house to her liking.
   - despite being an interior designer now, she still does help out at her dad’s auto repair shop when she’s not busy.
OTHER FACTS:
- about a year ago, devon found out where her birth mother was. being the brave soul she was, she went to where she now lived without anyone knowing. though only to be met with heartbreak. hearing from her mother that she didn't want her and that she had a new family. after that, she officially left and disowned her birth mother.
- devon is very much in tact with her korean heritage. at least once a month, she travels to seoul and stays with her aunt and uncle there. its something that keeps that part of her alive.
- she loves to cook, which isn't something that a lot of people know. and she's a darn good cook too. though cooking in general isn't a passion of hers.
-she did have one relationship. it was during her college years. but that ended after three years. the relationship ended mutually.  the two stayed friends after that.
- some of her favorite dishes are kimchi stew, soy sauce crab, tteokbokki, bibimbap, mandu (korean dumplings), pizza, pancakes, and homemade mac and cheese.
- music wise, shes a huge fan of got7, super junior, exo, bts, red vevet, mamamoo, twice, (g)idle, itzy, pentagon, little mix, beyonce, and ariana grande to name a few.
POSSIBLE CONNECTIONS:
- childhood friend/mate/love interest this one would 100% require working it out/talking it out. but basically they started off as childhood friends. did everything together too. and i imagine them to be part of the supernatural too. either a werewolf, witch or vampire(would have gotten turned later on). but they know each other well. and somewhere along the way, they grew feelings for each other that never went away.
-childhood friends: people in general who devon has known since she was a child. and have been friends with her ever since too.
-best friends a group of best friends for her. male or females. but it wouldn't be a huge group. just a few people who devon trusts a lot. can be any species too.
- frenemies: someone or a few people who devon has a love/hate relationship with. one minute, they're getting a long just fine, the next they're arguing. that sort of thing.

❝ Well, if I plan on doing anything exciting I promise to give fair warning so just…take a nap or something. ❞
SUMMER BISHIL? No, that’s actually JULIETTE NOTT. A SIXTH YEAR student, this SLYTHERIN student is sided with THE DEATH EATERS. SHE identifies as FEMALE and is a PUREBLOOD who is known to be CATTY, ELITIST, and VENGEFUL but also LOYAL, INVENTIVE, and CHARMING.
{ JESS, 26, EST, SHE/HER }
Tumblr media
* - - - - - c h i l d h o o d  & f a m i l y:
Juliette is the only known child of Theodore Nott, the identity of her mother having been concealed from everyone, including herself since the moment that Theo showed up at his family home with a squalling infant in his arms. As a young girl, she completely idolized her father, his inventions and tinkerings being things of true magic in her eyes. So, when he was arrested following a drunken duel and being found in possession of his dearest invention - an unregistered and advanced Time Turner of his own creation - four year old Juliette was devastated. Being placed in the care of her hateful and stern paternal grandparents only worsened the blow. Despite the separation from her father at such a young age, Juliette has never shaken that sense of loyalty to her father and has sense developed a tightly leashed and neatly labeled resentment inside of her towards those that played a part in his imprisonment.
Tumblr media
* - - - - - p e r s o n a l i t y:
Knowing Juliette Nott is like navigating through a maze of mirrors, one never truly knows if what they are seeing is the real thing or a skillfully placed illusion. She learned at a dreadfully young age that exposing your heart left it open to be stolen away, so she has since learned to keep the most important parts of herself tucked away, only to release slivers as she sees fit. Sometimes those slivers are in the forms of pretty ribbons and lace, decorated with expertly painted raspberry smiles and a wind-chime life. Other times the slivers are a thick, black ichor that seeps through the fine cracks and stains everything with traces of her hidden rage. With those she deems worthy enough of her affections, she is all warm laughter and fierce companionship that will be protected and cherished with her dying breath, but with those whom she finds unfit she can be as cruel as the winter is cold. No two people would describe her with the same adjectives, as no two people would ever truly glimpse the same version of her personality. Despite all of this - or perhaps because of this - the fact that she has been plagued by crippling panic attacks since her father’s arrest when she was a child is known of by practically no-one. She often even denies their existence even to herself.
Tumblr media
* - - - - - h i s t o r y:
When a child is fatherless, there is a name for them: Bastard. When a child is motherless, however, there is no name to describe what is left behind. Unfortunate, certainly; pitied, perhaps; undeniably complex. Juliette Alina Nott was that nameless, unfortunate, pitied, and complex thing - a small, rose flushed babe with no mother to mention, and a father whose name was almost too heavy for her to bare - born on the 30th of October with just a minute before midnight and left in the care of a father barely old enough to tell which end was up. It was only a few short years later that he, too, was taken from her after a combination of dueling and his illegal creations being brought to light earned him a stay in custody for an indiscriminate amount of time, leaving her in the care of her cold and distant grandparents. In their care, she had little to fill the holes in her heart but the remnants that her father had left behind: books of spells and ingredients that filled the spaces where nursery rhymes should have swelled, glimmering metals and tools replaced the normal toys and playthings of other children her age, and her games of make-believe were constructed of realities that glimmered ever-so-slightly at the simple spinning of a necklace (but only for five minutes at a time) rather than fantastical turns of dress-up or hide-and-seek in the garden. As she grew and matured, Juliette’s fascination with her father’s forgotten works only grew, especially through her studies whilst at Hogwarts.
Tumblr media
* - - - - - t h e  n e w  w a r :
As the new war began, Juliette quickly decided that she would align herself with whomever had her best interests in mind. It wasn’t her fault that the ‘bad guy’ happened to be the one with the key to free her father while the ‘good guys’ had been all too happy to lock away the only real family she had known and throw away the key. Maybe if things had been different, she would have felt sympathy for the other side, her heart aching for the lives lost and the blood shed. Maybe she would have thought twice about the hurricane that the movements of metaphorical beat of butterfly wings could create. As it was, no one had cried for her when they had ripped her heart from her and placed it behind bars. As it was, she hoped they b u r n e d.

Reposted from @barcsanimal_shelter Every summer, BARCS is flooded with newborn and very young kittens found around the city. Though they may be very cute, motherless kittens are also very vulnerable and fragile; every moment in their early life is critical. Depending on their age, kittens can require round-the-clock bottle feedings and care. The ongoing COVID crisis has changed the way BARCS operates. We are now working with minimal on-site staff and no volunteer support. Though our staff is lean, the kittens are still coming. At BARCS, we have open doors and open hearts, so we never say no to a stray, abused or neglected animal. Now, more than ever, we need your help to save lives. From now through July 26, our friends at the Petco Foundation will match donations up to $100,000. This means that every dollar you give will have double the impact by providing food, medical care, sheltering and lifesaving programs to twice as many animals! When you give, please consider making your gift a monthly donation. As an essential service and an open-admission shelter, BARCS continues to take in and care for hurting and helpless animals in our community. We are still welcoming new animals in our shelter each and every day. It is because of our dependable monthly donors, our Constant Companions, that we know each day what funding we will have to get us through. **Donate here: https://barcs.org/donate/emergency-summer-match/ Link also in bio! - #regrann https://www.instagram.com/p/CC9Lkr0hMrC/?igshid=165awxab9xtvs

Life Lesson 585: A Christ Follower Worships Even When Her Heart Is Breaking
Luke 2:36-38 There was also a prophet, Anna, the daughter of Penuel, of the tribe of Asher. She was very old; she had lived with her husband seven years after her marriage, and then was a widow until she was eighty-four. She never left the temple but worshiped night and day, fasting and praying. Coming up to them at that very moment, she gave thanks to God and spoke about the child to all who were looking forward to the redemption of Jerusalem.
Tumblr media
Does your perspective about Jesus change when circumstances arise? If yes, you are not alone. I think most of us, our tendencies are to question God and to turn our hearts away to Him. But when I read His Word, He made me realized that if I really wanted to follow Him, I must worship Him even when my heart is breaking.
Our key text talks about Anna. Her insights can be traced back to how she chose to handle sorrow. Her husband died. While she didn't have a choice about what happened, she had a choice about her response.
Anna could have been very bitter about the devastating loss she experienced at such a young age; it is the kind of thing that could turn a person away from the Lord. She could have cried out in anguish over life's unfairness. Why me? Why now?
Sorrow can produce bitterness and resentment, but sorrow can also produce faith, peace, and purpose. Out of sorrow there can come serenity, graciousness, a steadfast faith, and a closeness to God that nothing else can bring if a woman chooses to give her sorrow to God. Anna did this! Piece by piece, she gave her broken heart to God.
When death raved her home, Anna made God's house her dwelling place. Night and day she was at the temple. When as a young, motherless wife, God withdrew from her the earthly love she rejoiced in, she did not bury her hope in a grave. Rather she placed her hope in God.
She could have seethed over being left desolate with no one to care for her or to protect her, but instead she prayed and asked God for His help. She trusted God. She devoted herself to Him who had promised in Isaiah 54:4-5, to be a husband to the widow.
When she could have dwelt on her loss, she listened with empathy as others talked about their looses and disappointment. She understood their concerns and responded by praying and fasting for them.
When she could have been overwhelmed by loniless and haunted by memories of happier days, she interacted with those who came to the Temple. She was a prophetess who revealed God's will them, and they put confidence in what she had to say.
Her age contributed to the well of wisdom out of which sha shared. She was either eighty-four or had been a widow for eighty-four years but either way, she lived a long time. She made her choice about the years. As they stacked up, she could have resented them. As aging takes away them bloom ans the strength of our bodies, it can take away zest for life and leave us feeling useless and unproductive. Cherished dremas die, and we become discontented and resigned to things as they are, unless we believe God has a purpose for us. Anna chose to respond to aging the same way she chose to respond to sorrow, by devoting herself to God. Anna's service at the Temple indicated she believed God had a purpose and place for her.
If we look through the verses, by the time Anna saw baby Jesus, she had spent most of her life in the house of the Lord. Therefore, when this first public appearance of the Messiah came to her attention, she was able to perceived who Jesus was. Her spiritual sensitivity had been shaped by lifetime of worship.
If you respond this way, turning to God when your heart is broken, you will have a way to handle your heartbreak. You will indeed become a Christ follower. He, too, experienced griefs and sorrow. I remember the verse He said in Matthew 26:38, "The sorrow in my headt is so great that it almost crushes me" 😢. Yet He prayerfully released those emotions to God so He could go ahead and do God's will. He prayed the prayer every Christ follower has to pray at some time or another: "My Father ... not my want, but what you want (Matthew 26:39)". May we have the same prayer lke Jesus.

May 12th 2019; Mother’s Day
Happy Mother’s Day! I hope all you mothers have an amazing day and get treated like the Queens that you are!
For me, Mother’s Day is bittersweet, more bitter than sweet in my opinion. My relationship with my mother is very complicated. We haven’t spoken in 3 years after having a physical fight and ever since then, I’ve spent most of the time after that healing from all the traumas that she put me through.
I think today is the perfect day to talk about how my mother treated me and how it affected me, because I know that I’m angry about today because all I wanted to do is take care of my mother. I wanted to get a good degree for her, I wanted to get a six figure job for her. All I wanted to do is be better so I could protect her and shower her with all the love that she claimed she didn’t receive.
But now, as a 26 year old mother myself, I realized that she really had it much better than she claimed. She was taken care of, she had help in her childhood home; her mother, my grandmother, would work her ass off to provide her with a good education. For my mother to claim that my grandmother didn’t care about her and that she had it hard really fucks me up because I’M the one who’s had it hard.
She uprooted us on a regular, a home never felt like a home because I didn’t know how long we would stay there. I can’t say I have a childhood home because usually the “homes” that I did live in were riddled with negative memories.
Imagine being a 8 year old hearing your mother lose her absolute shit in the kitchen and then coming in after it and having to pick up broken plates and fix the table like nothing ever happened. Or imagine having you mother’s alcholic boyfriend essentially tell you he’d fuck you. And knowing in my heart that I couldn’t tell her about that because I know she would put it on me.
My mother put men above me and my brother so many times I’ve lost count. I’ve been accused of trying to steal the attention of the only man I ever considered a step father because of my mother’s insecurity, even after telling her many times that I only saw this man as a father and nothing else. After I had turned 18, our relationship really started going on a slow downfall due to arguing and threats and so many countless other things.
I know that I tell many people with bad parental relationships to just pick themselves up and get over it because I know the kind of pain I deal with everyday. Seeing my baby girl and knowing the kind of pain I went through to have her and to think that my mother went through the same exact pain (I was a c-section, so is my daughter) and treated me the way she did kills me inside every night. I look for maternal love from my aunt, grandmother and even my mother in law because I CRAVE it. Mothers are so so so important and to not have that is just HARD for me.
Nothing my kid could do to me could ever make me hate her. Because it’s not her fault. She didn’t decide on being born, her father and I did. And that’s what my mother never understood, she blamed me for ruining her life. She would tell me, a young kid, that I stopped her growth, that she could have been someone if I wasn’t born. And the fucking funny thing is that I would never ask her why she didn’t get an abortion. She had done it once before, why couldn’t she do it with me?
And like I had said before, my mother priotized men before her children and essentially the reason that I was born was because she was trying to comply and be in my father’s good graces. Yes, maybe she was a girl in love with an older man (my parents have a 17 year age gap) but to have a whole fucking baby for a dude wasn’t it. My father got deported after being in prison for 3 years and after that, the anger that my mother had towards that relationship failing was put on to me.
And even now, after finding out the truth about many things regarding her life, I still try to excuse her behavior towards me because I felt like a burden. My entire childhood I was trying to make up for my father’s absence. I was trying to make her looking at me not be a terrible thing since I look like an exact copy of my father.
I spent my entire childhood trying not to be a burden.
I’m healing though. I’m going to therapy, I let myself cry when I see other women with their mothers. I curse at the mention of my mother’s name because I can fully admit to myself that I am still angry. And I will be for a very long time. Maybe I’ll always be angry for as long as my mother is alive. I don’t know.
But that’s okay. Anger is a normal stage of grief. I’m grieving the loss of my relationship with my mother and I will be for a long time.
All I want to say to people who are in the same boat as me, it does get better. The pain does hurt a little less every day. And if you’re a mother like me with this pain, it will make you a better parent. You will know how to not make the mistakes your mother did. You’ll be more patient. More loving. And you’ll look at your kid and see the pink and roses you wanted to see in your own childhood.
I want to end this post saying to all the motherless children that I love you and you are a treasure.
You got this. We got this.
xoxo,
Ellie

If you were alone in a dark cabin, with only one match and a lamp, a fireplace, and a candle to choose from, which would you light first? If there’s electricity in the cabin, I would light the lamp fist. If not, I’d light the match.
Samuel is obviously a bad fisherman. During the past season, in which he and the five members of his team spent four months on a boat together off Dutch Harbor, AK, he caught fewer fish than any of his teammates. Which of the following, if true, most weakens the argument above? A)Two seasons ago, Samuel fished on another boat off Dutch Harbor and caught more fish than any other member of that boat. B)Before becoming a fisherman, Samuel piloted a fishing boat whose members regularly caught record numbers of fish. C)While fishing this past season, Samuel fell sick for a week and did not catch any fish during this time. D)Unlike the other fishermen on his boat, at the order of the captain, Samuel fished this past season with experimental bait.
E)Amongst the fishing community in Dutch Harbor, Samuel has a reputation for being an especially bad fisherman.

Support us The Guardian - Back to home News Opinion Sport Culture Lifestyle Menu The Australian dollar dropped 1% on news that a Chinese port has banned coal imports from the country. Chinese port bans imports of Australian coal, sending dollar tumbling Dalian has blocked imports from China’s top supplier, Reuters reports, amid simmering diplomatic tension between Beijing and Canberra Reuters Thu 21 Feb 2019 02.51 EST First published on Thu 21 Feb 2019 02.03 EST One of China’s biggest ports has banned imports of Australian coal and will cap overall coal imports for 2019 through its harbours at 12m tonnes, an official at Dalian Port Group has said. The indefinite ban on imports from Australia, which is China’s top coal supplier, comes as major ports elsewhere in China prolong clearing times for Australian coal to at least 40 days, Reuters has reported. China rejects Australian parliament cyber attack claims as 'baseless' and 'irresponsible' Coal is Australia’s biggest export earner and the Australian dollar tumbled more than 1% to as low as US70.86 on the news. The Australian trade minister, Simon Birmingham, has acknowledged the “unconfirmed and unsourced” reports and said the government had asked its ambassador in Beijing “to urgently clarify their veracity”. Five harbours overseen by Dalian customs – Dalian, Bayuquan, Panjin, Dandong and Beiliang – will not allow Australian coal to clear through customs, the official told Reuters. Coal imports from Russia and Indonesia will not be affected. The ports handled about 14m tonnes of coal last year, half of which was from Australia, said Gu Meng, analyst at Orient Futures. The Dalian official declined to be named due to the sensitivity of the matter. Neither Dalian customs nor China’s general customs administration would respond to a request for comment. No reason has been given for the ban, but a foreign ministry spokesman said on Thursday that China’s customs administration was testing coal imports for “environmental protection”. Geng Shuang said customs were conducting risk analysis according to the law. However, the ban comes amid simmering tensions between Beijing and Canberra over issues such as cybersecurity and China’s influence in Pacific island nations. Australia recently revoked the visa of a prominent Chinese businessman further straining ties. In a statement Birmingham described China as “a valued partner of Australia” and said the Australian government “trusts that our free trade agreement commitments to each other will continue to be honoured”. “Australia is, and will continue to be, a reliable supplier of resources around the world,” he said. “We continue to engage closely with industry on matters of market access. I met with the Minerals Council of Australia this week to discuss market access issues and our related representations to Chinese authorities.” An editorial comment in the China Daily newspaper this week said that Scott Morrison had been “irresponsible” for suggesting that Beijing was the “state actor” behind the cyberattack on the Australian parliament. “No matter whether he was assigning the malevolent acts to China or another country, it is irresponsible of him to cast aspersions in this way,” it said. “Certainly it seems that when it comes to China, many politicians, have forgotten their professional ethics, and appear to have no compunction about letting their tongues wag maliciously about a sovereign nation and its companies.” Beijing has also been trying to restrict imports of coal more generally to support domestic prices. Spot Australian coking coal at northern Chinese port Jingtang is 200 yuan ($29.85) cheaper per tonne than domestic prices, according to data tracked by Orient Futures. Prices of thermal coal are approximately the same. Dalian handles both thermal and coking coal imports but the clampdown is expected to have a bigger impact on coking coal, used in steel making, than thermal coal, used to generate electricity. “It is hard to find a replacement for Australian coking coal since its sulphur content is very low,” said a purchasing manager at a large coke plant in Hebei province. “Current inventory at ports should be sufficient to support usage for one or two months, but it could be a problem in the long term, especially if other ports also tighten imports,” he added. The most-active coking coal contract for May delivery rose more than 2 percent during morning trade on Thursday. “(The restriction) will further squeeze profit margins at steel mills after Vale’s accident has already driven up iron ore prices,” said Gu at Orient Futures. China bought 28.26m tonnes of coking coal from Australia in 2018, accounting for 43.5 of the country’s total imports of the fuel, customs data showed. Terms of UsePrivacyDesktop 16. Geographic distribution Edit The highest frequency of occurrence of epicanthic folds are found in: East Asians, Southeast Asians, Central Asians, North Asians, some Polynesians, Micronesians, Native Americans (as well as Mestizos), the Khoisan, and the Malagasy. In some of these populations the trait is almost universal. Epicanthic folds occur, but at considerably lower frequency, in: Europeans (e.g., Scandinavians, English, Irish,[6] Hungarians, Serbs, Bosniaks, Croats, Albanians, Russians, Poles, Lithuanians, Finns, Estonians and Samis),[7][8] South Asians, Western Asians, Nilotes and Amazigh people.[9] The degree of development of the fold between individuals varies greatly and its presence or absence is often subjective, also its frequency varies clinally across Eurasia. Its use, therefore, as a phenotypic marker to define biological populations is debatable.[10] Possible evolutionary function Edit The epicanthic fold is often associated with greater levels of fat deposition around the eyeball, a feature most accentuated in native North Siberian, Aleut and Inuit populations. The adipose tissue is thought to provide greater insulation for the eye and sinuses from the effects of cold, especially from freezing winds, and to represent an adaptation to cold climates. It has also been postulated that the fold itself might provide a level of protection from snow blindness. Though its appearance in peoples of Southeast Asia can be linked to possible descent from cold-adapted ancestors, its occurrence in various African peoples precludes a cold-adaptive explanation for it appearing in the latter groups. The epicanthic fold found in some African people has been tentatively linked to protection for the eye from the high levels of ultra-violet light found in desert and semi-desert areas.[11] Age Edit Many fetuses lose their epicanthic folds after three to six months of gestation.[12] Epicanthic folds may be visible in the development stages of young children of any race, especially before the nose bridge fully develops.[13] Medical conditions Edit The epicanthic fold is sometimes found as a congenital abnormality. Medical conditions that cause the nasal bridge not to mature and project are associated with epicanthic folds. About 60% of individuals with Down syndrome (also known as trisomy 21) have prominent epicanthic folds.[14][15] In 1862, John Langdon Down classified what is now called Down syndrome. He used the term mongoloid for the condition. This was derived from then-prevailing ethnic theory[16] and from his perception that children with Down syndrome shared physical facial similarities (epicanthic folds) with those of Blumenbach's Mongolian race. While the term "mongoloid" (also "mongol" or "mongoloid idiot") continued to be used until the early 1970s, it is now considered pejorative and inaccurate and is no longer in common use about medical conditions.[17] In Zellweger syndrome, epicanthic folds are prominent.[18] Other examples are fetal alcohol syndrome, phenylketonuria, and Turner syndrome.[19] See also References 17. https://goo.gl/images/Jbu4vL 18. nowTop ratedVisitedHaven't visitedMORE FILTERS Hong Kong Homes 4.2 (5) Real estate agency · Tower 1, 703 Admiralty Centre, 18 Harcourt Rd Open 24 hours CALL Executive Homes Hong Kong Limited No reviews Real estate agency · 1601-02, Universal Trade Centre, 3 Arbuthnot Road Closed ⋅ Opens 9AM CALL Lane Crawford Home 5.0 (2) Shopping Mall · 4008, 4/F, ifc Mall, 8 Finance Street, Central, Hong Kong Closed ⋅ Opens 10AM CALL Web results Hong Kong Properties for Rent | Executive Homes Executive Homes HK › rent home hong kong from www.executivehomeshk.com Results 1 - 10 of 1367 · Artisan House Sai Ying Pun Ref #: 113049. Fw: Write to Council online M marla Mon 10/29/2018 9:11 PM Sent Items To: [email protected]; Please help me in China if you are able to. I need help as an unusual refugee. I need just a place I can be free from the oppression by the present order of the world presently that is very bad for me. I am attacked by the devil and the present order (and further aspects of how things are also in the world outside of organized practices of government etc) which is the rule of the devil. I am in Mexico now. I wish to be not oppressed or attacked for my views and sentiments etc. I wish not to be forced to work. I wish the present order of things in the world to discontinue. The present reality of the world is really ruled by the devil. Presently the state of things in the United States is more concrete and rigid and no longer flexible because the way of things is not really a thing a person is okay to seek to change. That is hidden but it at some point would be revealed that people disagreeing with how things are in the United States are not really welcome there. The conditions for me in the United States were very bad after I said in 2014 that this reality of the world is ruled by the devil. Before that things were not so okay for me either but conditions for me in the country very much deteriorated after 2014 because it ended the world that I said with certainty that this reality was not true and was ruled by the devil. Disease is not real, people to be mentally ill is not real/true. But presently there is some difficulty for me in Mexico. I don't have a lot of money to live on and a refugee program is not responding to me thus far through email. The devil still torments me very bad. I was of the hopes the devil would have to stop attacking me if i left the United States. But it still attacks. It attacks to oppress I am to be not who I am and to oppress that things are to seem something other than the end of the world. It presses Im supposed to be mentally ill and it presses im supposed to think im inferior to others etc. Hopefully you are able to help me there to be able to not have my preferences and views obscured by things such as with the present order with forced work and the disabled designation etc. I use a disability pay presently and I would prefer to be free of the designation of my situation to be linked with things that obscure my views etc, which are that people are not really mentally ill or really disabled, but are oppressed by a false reality that is the rule of the devil. Please help. Below is a message I sent a city in Australia as part of trying to get refugee assistance there. I heard in my mind that the city was supposed to help me end the world, but the devil is manipulating how they are able to surface here in responding to me. They (a Brisbane City Council representative of some kind) told me in a response to contact the Immigration Department. This was bothersome. The message can give more information on some things happening. A List of Novels to Buy (Part I)
Just a list for myself with a few novels that I want to buy in the near future:
1. The Goldfinch by Donna Tartt
Tartt’s 2013 Pulitzer Prize–winning bestseller has at its heart a charming painting of a goldfinch that 13-year-old Theo Decker recovers from the debris after a terrorist bombing at an art museum kills his mother. Theo carries Dutch master Carel Fabritius’s painting with him wherever he goes on his motherless wanderings, from bunking in with a wealthy Manhattan family to his louche dad’s Las Vegas digs. As Theo realizes the value of the painting, the trouble he could be in when if reveals he has it, and that some scary gangsters are on his tail, this art-centered novel takes on the intensity of a Bruegel painting.
2. The Woman Upstairs by Claire Messud
Nora Eldridge, the narrator of Messud’s incandescent novel, once dreamed of being an artist, a wife, and a mother. Instead, due to caring for her aging parents and other concerns, she has ended up a single, middle-aged woman with a career as an elementary school teacher. Then she becomes enamored of the family of one of her students, Reza Shahid. His mother is Sirena, an Italian artist who invites Nora to share her studio space and return to her work as an artist, and his father is a Lebanese professor in Boston on a fellowship. Nora is drawn in, wanting to be a part of the Shahids’ lives, but finding Sirena respects no boundaries between art and life.
3. A Painter of Our Time by John Berger
The year is 1956. Soviet tanks are rolling into Budapest. In London, an expatriate Hungarian painter named Janos Lavin has disappeared following a triumphant one-man show at a fashionable gallery. Where has he gone? Why has he gone? The only clues may lie in the diary, written in Hungarian, that Lavin has left behind in his studio. With uncanny understanding, John Berger has written oneo f hte most convincing portraits of a painter in modern literature, a revelation of art and exile.
4. Bento’s Sketchbook by John Berger
Bento’s Sketchbook is an exploration of the practice of drawing, as well as a meditation on how we perceive and seek to explore our ever-changing relationship with the world around us.
5. The Recognitions by William Gaddis
The Recognitions is a masterwork about art and forgery, and the increasingly thin line between the counterfeit and the fake. Gaddis anticipates by almost half a century the crisis of reality that we currently face, where the real and the virtual are combining in alarming ways, and the sources of legitimacy and power are often obscure to us.
6. The Artist’s Widow by Shena Mackay
Set in the contemporary art scene in London, it is centred on Lyris, the widow of John Crane, and begins at a viewing of her late husband's work; also present are her friend Clovis Ingram – a bookstore owner, a beautiful young television film-maker called Zoe, and Lyris' great nephew Nathan Pursey, an up-and-coming performance artist. The book concerns their complex interrelationships in the wake of John Crane's death.
7. Idylls of the King by Alfred Tennyson
Written in the middle of his career, Idylls of the King is Tennyson's longest and most ambitious work. Reflecting his lifelong interest in Arthurian themes, his primary sources were Malory's Morte d'Arthur and the Welsh Mabinogion. For him, the Idylls embodied the universal and unending war between sense and soul, and Arthur the highest ideals of manhood and kingship; an attitude totally compatible with the moral outlook of his age. Poetically, Tennyson was heir to the Romantics, and Keats's influence in particular can be seen clearly in much of his work. Yet Tennyson's style is undoubtedly his own and he achieved a delicacy of phrase and subtlety of metrical effect that are unmatched. This edition, based on the text authorised by Tennyson himself, contains full critical apparatus.
8. Songs of Innocence and of Experience by William Blake
Songs of Experience is a 1794 poetry collection of 26 poems forming the second part of William Blake's Songs of Innocence and of Experience. Some of the poems, such as The Little Boy Lost and The Little Boy Found were moved by Blake to Songs of Innocence, and were frequently moved between the two books.
9. The Secret Rose: Love Poems by W.B. Yeats
Arranged in chronological sequence, The Secret Rose offers a glimpse of all Yeats' styles-beginning with his youthful romantic idealism and ending with his more outspoken, sardonic treatment of sexuality.
10. Burning in Water, Drowning in Flame by Charles Bukowski
Burning in Water, Drowning in Flame is poetry full of gambling, drinking and women. Charles Bukowski writes realistically about the seedy underbelly of life.
11. The Importance of Being Earnest by Oscar Wilde
Oscar Wilde's madcap farce about mistaken identities, secret engagements, and lovers entanglements still delights readers more than a century after its 1895 publication and premiere performance. The rapid-fire wit and eccentric characters of The Importance of Being Earnest have made it a mainstay of the high school curriculum for decades.
12. A Tale of Two Cities by Charles Dickens
After eighteen years as a political prisoner in the Bastille, the ageing Doctor Manette is finally released and reunited with his daughter in England. There the lives of two very different men, Charles Darnay, an exiled French aristocrat, and Sydney Carton, a disreputable but brilliant English lawyer, become enmeshed through their love for Lucie Manette. From the tranquil roads of London, they are drawn against their will to the vengeful, bloodstained streets of Paris at the height of the Reign of Terror, and they soon fall under the lethal shadow of La Guillotine.
13. The Brothers Karamazov by Fyodor Dostoyevsky, translated by Richard Prevear and Larissa Volokhonsky
The award-winning translation of Dostoevsky's last and greatest novel.
The Brothers Karamazov is a passionate philosophical novel set in 19th century Russia, that enters deeply into the ethical debates of God, free will, and morality. It is a spiritual drama of moral struggles concerning faith, doubt, and reason, set against a modernising Russia.
15. 12 Years a Slave: A True Story of Betrayal, Kidnap and Slavery
A powerful and riveting condemnation of American slavery, 12 Years a Slave is the harrowing true story of Solomon Northup who was kidnapped and sold into slavery, enduring unimaginable degradation and abuse until his rescue twelve years later. Steve McQueenOCOs powerful film adaptation starring Chiwetel Ejiofor, Brad Pitt, Michael Fassbender and Benedict Cumberbatch won Best Picture at both the Oscars and the Golden Globes in 2014. Tricked by two men offering him a job as a musician in New York State in 1841, Solomon Northup was drugged and kidnapped. His life is jeopardy, he was forced to assume a new name and fake past. Taken to Louisiana on a disease-ridden plague ship, he was initially sold to a cotton planter.
In the twelve years that follow he is sold to many different owners who treat him with varying levels of savagery; forced labour, scant food and numerous beatings are his regular fare.a Against all odds, Northup eventually succeeds in contacting a sympathetic party and manages to get word to his family. The ensuing rescue and legal cases are no less shocking and intriguing than the rest of the tale.
