Prompt: "I don't care that you're hanging up lights, get off the roof!"
Pairing: Malleus Draconia x Gn!Reader/Prefect/Yuu
Genre: Fluff, Slight hurt/comfort
TW: Reader falls off a roof (but they're okay, don't worry)
Tumblr media
You were a brave human.
Malleus had made this assumption on your second meeting, when you graced him with that silly nickname that he now held so dear. The casual way you interacted with him may have stemmed from your ignorance regarding his true identity, but to see you continue to use it even after learning he was the heir apparent to Briar Valley had left him with a pleasant warmth in his chest and his cheeks.
He adored every part of you, including that bravery of yours that made him fall for you in the first place.
But dear Sevens, that bravery would be the death of him one day.
"Child of man," he called out to you, a mix of puzzlement and concern in his eyes, "what are you doing up on the roof?"
"Hornton!" You visibly brightened as you noticed him, waving your arm so vigorously at him that he feared you would fall from your place on top of Ramshackle's roof. Malleus took a step ahead, worry flashing in his eyes as he looked up at you.
"I'm hanging up some lights for the winter holidays! Ramshackle's gonna look nice and festive this winter," you spoke, showing him the bundle of wires with lights on them that you had next to you.
"Is it truly necessary?" He asked, acutely aware of the pain in his neck from looking up at you. Was this how you felt when you had to look up at him? Now, that would not do; he would have to find a way to make it so that you wouldn't feel any pain in your neck while looking up-
His train of thought was derailed by the sight of you leaning forward almost dangerously. "I'm gonna be fine, don't worry," you told him, a carefree smile on your face.
"Child of man, Ramshackle has no need to be decorated. It is beautiful just the way it is," and so are you, went unsaid. Malleus took a step closer, talking softly and gently, trying to coax you to come down. "Please, come down before you hurt yourself."
"You worry too much Mal-Mal, I'll be fiNE-"
In your attempt to reassure him, you had taken a step ahead on the roof, slipping and getting your leg tangled in the wire.
Malleus' heart nearly stopped as he saw you fall. He casted a spell almost immediately, catching you mid-air with his magic before letting you down onto the ground carefully.
Your legs gave out beneath you from almost falling to your death, and you sat heavily on the ground. Malleus rushed to you, quickly kneeling to check you for any injuries, even though he had saved you with his magic. You rested your hands on his biceps, trembling slightly due to the adrenaline coursing through your veins as you allowed him to look you over.
After making sure you were alright, he pulled you into a hug, his larger frame hiding you from view as he held you close to his chest. You held onto him just as tightly, and for the next few minutes you both just sat in silence, holding onto each other and thinking of what could have happened had he not been there.
"Now I understand what Lilia meant when he used to say that Silver and I would shave years off his lifespan whenever we went off into the forest without letting him know," he said after a few tense moments, voice slightly shaky. Your hands held on tighter at his words, feeling guilty. One of his hands curled protectively over your head, while the other rested on your back.
"I-" your throat felt dry, tight. You couldn't get your words out, even as Malleus waited for you to finish your reply. So you settled on squeezing him tight, trying to make him feel your apology for scaring him when you couldn't put it in words.
"Next time, please allow me to do this sort of thing for you, my dear. Even with how long my life is sure to be, I would rather not deal with such stress ever again," he told you gently, smiling when you nodded, your face hidden against him.
He picked you up, and took you inside Ramshackle, your plans of decorating the roof left for another day.

Prompt: "Oh my God, look at that — it’s a mistletoe!” “…Absolutely fucking not. Don’t give me that look! I’m not kiss— ugh, fine, you menace."
Pairing: Leona Kingscholar x GN!Reader/Prefect/Yuu
Genre: Fluff
TW: NA
Tumblr media
"Did you hear about the mistletoe infestation in Octavinelle?"
Leona glanced up at you, attention momentarily diverted from the chessboard where he was currently obliterating you. An eyebrow was raised in silent question, and you continued.
"Apparently Octavinelle has mistletoe on all its doorways, and it won't come down even with magical means. Nobody knows who did it."
"...And?"
"And what?"
Leona looked at you properly, pinning you in place with his gaze. "How is that relevant to our game right now, herbivore?" His eye caught onto movement, and he glared at Grim, picking him up by the scruff of his neck. "Oi furball, don't eat the chess pieces. Unless you want me to eat you." Leona made a show of snapping his teeth at the cat-monster, making him squirm and try to break free from his position in mid-air.
Grim coughed up the knight and pawns he had stuffed into his mouth, pointing at you, "Nyah! They told me to do it! Eat them!"
You gasped in indignation, glaring at your partner in crime for exposing your little scheme strategy. "Grim, you traitor!"
Grim wriggled in mid-air, still in Leona's hold as he demanded to be put down on the ground. Leona looked at you with a smug look on his face.
"Is it frustratin' to lose against someone cleverer than you, little herbivore?" He hummed, eyes glowing under the soft evening light that streamed through his open windows. "Usually I'd appreciate your sneakiness, but you better keep these schemes for the likes of that octopunk," he drawled, voice sweet yet holding that sharpness of a predator as he dropped Grim to the floor.
You let out a nervous chuckle as Grim quickly ran to hide behind you. You focused on the game in front of you, face scrunched slightly as you thought how to make your inevitable loss less devastating.
You missed the way Leona's eyes sparkled with amusement and a rarely seen warmth as he watched you map out your next move on the chessboard.
He watched as you walked right into the sweet little trap he had placed for you, gradually chipping away at your forces. Much in the way a predator may play with his prey before finishing them, he dangled tiny threads of hope in front of you, examining you carefully, noting every time you brightened only to realize that he had you exactly where he wanted you.
After a long, arduous game, he finally uttered the phrase you had wanted to hear for so long. "Checkmate," he said, keeping eye contact with you as he placed his last piece in place.
"Finally," you huffed, leaning back into your chair as you frowned at him. "Did you do that on purpose?"
"That's what you get for tryin' to cheat," Leona smirked, leaning back into his chair. "That's rich, coming from you," you mumbled under your breath. The flicking of his ears in your direction and the narrowing of his eyes let you know that he had heard you, loud and clear.
Stupid beastman hearing.
Leona said nothing of your remark, leaning his chin on the palm of his hand as he turned his head to stare outside the window. The sun had been directly overhead when you had walked into Savanaclaw; now it was sinking down low, pretty orange and pink splashes coloring the sky. Grim had left the two of you a while ago, when both of you were too invested in the game.
You carefully collected the chess pieces, placing them in their special box. The chessboard was set aside with similar care, the table in front of you left bare. Leona didn't move from his position, still looking outside the window.
You smiled, turning your gaze to the setting sun. "It's beautiful, isn't it?" Leona glanced at you from the corner of his eyes, letting out a soft hum as acknowledgement.
"Aren't you getting late herbivore?"
"As Prefect of Ramshackle, I decide when curfew is for my dorm," you winked at him, a mischievous glint to your eyes.
"Abusing your authority now, are ya?" Leona huffed in amusement, regarding you carefully as he lounged in his chair. You shrugged, mimicking his relaxed position. "Maybe, haven't got any complaints from the ghosts yet."
The corners of his lips lifted ever so slightly at the cheeky reply.
Most people were either too intimidated by the Savanaclaw housewarden to mouth back at him. But not you. Ever since his overblot, you had taken it upon yourself to try and match his wit with yours, his (mostly empty) threats with a cheeky yet not unkind remark.
Leona was amused by you.
He watched you check the time on your phone, tail swishing languidly as you looked up at him with a small smile on your face.
"Looks like I do need to get going."
Leona stood up from his chair wordlessly, moving towards the door without a backwards glance at you, knowing you'd follow him anyways. He didn't need to escort you out; you knew your way in and out of Savanaclaw dorm like the back of your hand now. But there were always some foolish Savanaclaw students eager to pick a fight with you, wagering whatever they might have on them at that moment to just have a chance to battle against you. You never let an opportunity go wasted, and things would often end with a triumphant you skipping away merrily, while he had to deal with those miscreants coming up and complaining to him about losing a fight they picked.
Leona claimed that he walked you to the mirror connecting the dorm to the Mirror Chamber because he was sick of people crying to him about losing against you. But both of you knew that that was just an excuse.
As you walked side by side, you talked. Well, it was mostly just you speaking, with Leona offering his input every now and then. The setting sun painted the halls of the dorm a glorious golden hue, warm and comforting. Even the shadows casted on the ground seemed to dance in delight.
"And then, Ace-" you stopped in the middle of your sentence, eyes fixing onto something. Leona followed your gaze to find an innocent looking plant hanging from the main doorway of Savanaclaw, white berries shining in the last light of the day.
"Oh my God, look at that — it’s a mistletoe!" You exclaimed, as though seeing the plant for the first time in your life.
"…Absolutely fucking not."
You turned to give Leona your most betrayed look. Leona frowned at you, "Don’t give me that look. I’m not kissing you."
"It doesn't have to be a kiss on the lips, you know," you said, trying to get him to cave in. "Or are you too scared to kiss me? Or-" you gasped theatrically, a gasp that could put Rook to shame as you eyes lit up with a familiar cheeky light, "is it because this would be your first kiss? Oh Great Sevens, are you afraid of losing your first kiss?"
Leona narrowed his eyes at you. He knew what you were trying to do. He also knew that you would back off if he doubled down on his refusal, too mindful of boundaries to actually go against his wishes.
He didn't want that to happen.
"... Fine, you menace," he muttered, his hands wrapping around your waist and pulling you close. You yelped at the sudden movement, finding yourself pressed flush against Leona's body.
One hand left your waist in favour of raising your face, to make you look at him. Eyes darkened with intent peered into yours, before slightly chapped yet soft lips captured your own.
You did not have enough time to register the surprisingly sweet yet heated kiss that you two exchanged. Pulling away from you Leona smirked, his hands dropping back to his side. "Satisfied now, herbivore? And for the record, that wasn't my first kiss."
You looked up at him, cheeks dark and palms sweaty, unmoving even as he walked away and inside the dorm. You stood there in complete silence, a hand coming up to touch your lips in a daze.
"Shishishishi, you look a little red there, Prefect."
You didn't need to turn to know who it was. Ruggie approached you, slinging his arm over your shoulders and effectively breaking you out of your trance. You looked at the hyena beastman, cheeks turning darker at the amusement in his eyes.
"Remember to pay me for the little thing up there, hm?"
You smiled, nodding your head. "Of course, I'll get you your favorite donuts. We had a deal after all."
Your eyes flicked over to the little parasitic plant that worked a lot better than you thought it would.

"-And so, we shall celebrate this winter with a housewarden Secret Santa exchange!" Crowley smiled, golden eyes crinkling into happy little half-moons behind his mask.
The seven housewardens of NRC, joined by Ramshackle's Prefect for this particular meeting, looked at each other. Some with clear exasperation in their eyes, a few (namely Kalim) showing a little more excitement than the rest of their dour counterparts.
The Prefect sighed, sinking into their chair as if embarrassed beyond words as Crowley clapped his hands and stretched his arms towards them, proudly continuing.
"I must give credit of this splendid idea to our beloved Prefect, who told me about this adorable little custom they had followed back in their own world. Of course, being the kind and generous soul that I am, I wish for our Prefect to feel right at home here in Twisted Wonderland. I believe all of you wish the same, hm?"
Leona grumbled under his breath as he leaned back in his chair, tail swishing irritably. Of course the old crow goes and uses them against us, he thought to himself, watching as the others' faces immediately softened at that. No matter how much the seven housewardens of NRC hated working with each other, with the exception of Kalim who seemed happy to just be there, all of them would bear with it if it was for the sake of the Ramshackle Prefect.
Crowley didn't exaggerate when he called the magicless human a beast tamer.
"Fine by me, as long as I don't have to get somethin' for the lizard," he spoke, jutting his chin at Malleus as he frowned. The dragon fae narrowed his eyes at him, before turning to look at the headmage.
"As much as it pains me to admit it, I agree with Kingscholar," he said, voice low and serious. "That being said, I do hope that you would allow me to partake in this gift exchange with the Child of Man as my partner."
"Now, now, that isn't fair to the rest of us, Malleus. I would very much like to be the Prefect's Secret Santa as well," Vil hummed, raising a perfectly trimmed eyebrow as he crossed his arms over his chest.
"That's not how Secret Santa works," the Prefect sighed, before Crowley took over for them. "Precisely. And to ensure that everyone has a fair chance of being assigned as our beloved Prefect's Secret Santa, we will have the fairest means of competition possible!"
He took a box from under the table and placed it in front of everyone. "You all shall draw chits, and the person who's name you draw will be for whom you have to get a gift," he drummed his golden claws on the box as he pushed it in Riddle's direction.
"Mr. Rosehearts, if you would."
Riddle nodded, before putting his hand inside and pulling out a chit.
The process continued, with the Prefect being the last to pull out a name. Their eyes had widened on seeing what was written before they shoved the piece of paper in their pocket, refusing to answer Malleus and Kalim's questions of whose name they had pulled.
No one noticed the reclusive housewarden of Ignihyde slinking away in the shadows, the tips of his hair flaming a soft pink.
Tumblr media
"Why did I have to get them, out of everybody?" Idia groaned into his pillow. The one time he decided to attend a housewarden meeting in person, he had to be roped into what was probably going to be the most awkward bonding activity.
"I do not have enough XP to get the Prefect a gift for Christmas," he mumbled to himself, turning to lie on his back. As Idia stared up at the ceiling, he continued airing out his grievances to the techomantic machines in his room.
"If it was any of the others I could have gotten them something. What do I get them...?"
Idia let out another groan, dragging his hands down his face. Maybe avoiding them after his overblot wasn't such a great idea...
But how could he have brought himself to talk to them after the entire fiasco that was his overblot? If there was anyone who knew all about the effects of overblots on victims and the people around them, it was him. Besides, Ortho had become fast friends with them, so he could always keep an eye on their state through him...
"Ortho!"
The young humanoid poked his head in through the door, only to be met with the frantic and helpless eyes of his brother.
"Help me get something for the Prefect!"
Tumblr media
Idia sighed, wishing for not the first time and certainly not the last time to melt into the floor, if only to escape the stifling atmosphere in the room as the housewardens exchanged presents.
Distracted by the sight of ever oblivious Kalim handing a flustered Riddle an extremely expensive-looking tea set, he didn't notice when the Prefect snuck up on him.
"Hey."
"Sevens-!" He spun his head to look at them, eyes wide with shock and fear. "P-Prefect, you shouldn't creep up on me like that! That's t-too much for my poor otaku heart-!"
Idia's cheeks and hair tinted a light pink as they mumbled out an apology for startling him. They allowed him to calm down before speaking.
"So, who's the lucky person?" They asked, their gaze on the wrapped box in his hand. He felt his mouth dry, at a loss for words.
"T-this is, uh, it's for you, a-actually," he mumbled, feeling warm as he looked down at the neatly wrapped present before handing it to them.
The Prefect tilted their head, and Idia had to stop his squeal at how cat-like that action was. "You're my Secret Santa?"
Idia nodded, not trusting his words to be anything but a panicked jumble of how cute they were and how much he liked them and how he hoped they liked what he got for them because if they didn't then he would happily bury himself alive to escape the humiliation and embarassment and-
"What a coincidence! I'm your Secret Santa as well!"
"O-Oh." Idia's train of thought screeched to a stop, before roaring back and running at even higher speeds. Is this some sort of joke from the Seven? That just upped the difficulty level! Abort, abort mission right now!
They smiled, before pressing something into Idia's hands. The warmth of their smaller hands on his was equal parts comforting and panic-inducing. Had Ortho been there, he would have definitely remarked on his increased heartbeat and dilated pupils.
"I got you the merch that Precipice Moirai released recently. It isn't much, but..."
"Isn't much..? Wait, are you talking about those figurines they launched for their fifth anniversary?!" Idia's eyes widened as you nodded. "Even I couldn't get them anywhere because I was a bit late! How did you clear that quest so easily?!"
"Well... I entered the lucky draw they held just for fun, but ended up winning the figurines. And I knew that you wanted them, so-"
"How did you know I wanted this?" Idia asked. It wasn't his intention to be rude, but he was pretty sure that all of his groaning and moaning about losing the chance to own the ultra-rare, SSR tier merch was only heard by Ortho.
He watched as they hesitated before answering. "That's because... I heard you talking about it to Ortho a few times."
Idia's heart thundered in his chest. The Prefect was trying to not make eye contact with him, a clear sign that they weren't telling the entire truth.
"I, uh.. I didn’t know you paid this much attention to me"
"—I don’t. You just happen to talk really loudly and passionately about the things you like," they said, still refusing to make eye contact with him. Before Idia could tell himself that it was because the Prefect wanted to get over with this interaction as soon as they could, he noticed the darkness of their cheeks, and the colour on the tip of their ears.
"Oh. Well, thank you anyways, Prefect. I hope you'll like my gift as well," Idia said, an awkward, yet sincere smile on his face.

It was a cold, silent night. Snow covered the ground like an oversized blanket, glittering under the soft silver light of the moon. Not a single critter made a noise, every soul fast asleep under the watchful and twinkling stars...
"THAT'S TOO MUCH FOOD COLORING, ACE!"
Well, almost every soul.
In the cozy warmth of the Ramshackle kitchen stood the six friends of the Ramshackle Prefect, decorating sugar cookies that they had baked earlier.
"It's fine," Ace dismissed Deuce's wide-eyed horror and Sebek's seething at the amount of food coloring he had dropped into the icing. It was an accident, but Ace was trying to play it off as an intentional action, mixing the red food coloring with a little tune on his lips.
Epel, Jack and Ortho worked together on their share of the cookies, icing them precisely and perfectly to look like little Christmas trees, while you stood at the stove, making hot chocolate for all of you to share.
"Isn't having too much food coloring bad?" Deuce asked, eyeing the way Sebek seemed to turn red with indignation at being ignored by Ace.
"Most food dyes do not cause any adverse effects, Deuce Spade-kun" Ortho answered, "though it is advised by medical professionals not to consume too much of them."
"This isn't too much. Besides, with the white icing, it'll balance out. Relax," Ace rolled his eyes.
Epel smiled as he continued decorating the cookies, while Jack helped him out silently.
The next few minutes were spent in relative peace. Mindful of the late hour, you all tried to keep your volumes down as you worked in the kitchen.
"You know what I've never understood about Christmas?" Deuce started, effectively getting everyone's attention. "Oh, is it philosophy hour with Deuce?" Jack huffed in amusement, used to Deuce's habit of asking questions that could put one in an existential crises due to their being clubmates.
"Not really... I just don't get how Santa could possibly know what children in the entire world are good or bad but would need to be told what kids want," Deuce said as he looked at the cookie he was decorating to look like a candy-cane. "Kids aren't exactly... quiet about their desires."
A silence descended onto the kitchen, as every first year looked at the blue haired boy in varying degrees of amusement, disbelief and curiosity.
"Uh, Deuce... you do know that Santa isn't real, right?" Epel asked kindly, his tone a stark contrast to the mischievous glint in his eyes as he looked at the taller boy. Deuce flushed and sputtered, "O-Of course I know! It's just-!"
Ace, ever the nuisance, jumped at the chance. "Aw, did little Deucey believe in good ol' Saint Nick all this time?" He teased. "How cute."
"That's not true!"
"There's no need to be embarrassed Deuce Spade-kun. Many young children believe in the myth of Santa Claus," Ortho tried to reassure him, but even he couldn't hide the slight amusement in his tone.
"Little Deucey, did you send your letter to the North Pole this year?" Ace laughed, poking Deuce in the side. "I hope you've been good this year. Wouldn't want you to end up on the naughty list, would you? That'd be bad for your goody two shoes record."
"Ace, you little-" Deuce began to chase the other boy around the kitchen, face flushed red with embarassment. The ginger-haired menace laughed as he weaved his way between the appliances and the people in the kitchen, using them as shields and obstacles to slow down the other boy.
He poked his tongue out at Deuce, slipping away through the kitchen door to the hallway. Deuce narrowed his eyes as he ran after him out of the kitchen, cookies and decorating forgotten.
"I'll go make sure they don't end up killing each other," Jack said, shaking his head as he followed after them. Epel skipped behind him, pulling along Ortho to see the entertaining show.
"Sebek, can you get me some cups from that cabinet over there?" You asked the only person remaining in the room. Sebek hummed in acknowledgement, getting out seven cups and placing them in front of you.
Preoccupied with pouring the steaming hot chocolate into seven cups, you missed the conflicted expression on Sebek's face. As you decorated the beverage with marshmallows and whipped cream according to each one's preferences, sounds of the boys rough-housing in the next room had you smiling in fond exasperation.
"Here, this one's yours," you said, handing Sebek his drink. Sebek thanked you, voice low and expression uncharacteristically serious. You poked his forehead with a finger, smiling as he startled and looked at you with a confused look on his face.
"You're going to end up getting wrinkles way early if you scowl that much," you teased him, leaning against the counter as you spoke. "What are you thinking about so intently anyways?"
"It is not a matter of much importance, human."
"You're blushing though."
"I-I am not!" Sebek protested. His cheeks did nothing to help his case, turning even darker instead. You raised your arms in surrender, as you chuckled at his flustered state. "Fine, fine."
You started gathering up the bowls and spoons that had been used, placing them in the dishwasher to be cleaned. Your work was done in peaceful silence, and Sebek helped with what he could, ever the gentleman.
As you wiped your hands on a towel, he spoke.
"About what Deuce said, earlier..."
"Hm?"
"That is something... I have previously wondered as well... Not that I don't know that Santa Claus is a myth made for young children!" Sebek looked everywhere but at you, evidently embarrassed by his admission. "As Malleus-sama's guard, I cannot be misled by such childish and whimsical stories, of course! I-"
"You believed in Santa Claus too?" You asked, watching in amusement as the colour in his cheeks seemed to explode, climbing up his ears as well. "I JUST SAID I DIDN'T HUMAN, WHAT-"
"I think that's cute."
Sebek stopped, eyes wide as he stared at you. You continued, "It shows that you're innocent and pure-hearted. It's really cute." Sebek looked away and took a sip of his hot chocolate, wincing when he burned his tongue by drinking too fast. Before you could tease him any further, Ace called out, "If yall are done being sappy and disgusting, save me! Wait, shit-"
The sounds coming from the other room grew louder, taking your attention off of Sebek, allowing him to regain his composure somewhat. Deuce must have finally gotten hold of Ace, considering the loud and whiny complaints that could be heard. You turned back to Sebek, shaking your head. "Wanna save Ace from the fate that he oh so rightfully deserves?"
"I would rather have him bear the consequences of his actions," Sebek smiled, as Ace wailed in protest.

Prompt: "Come on, get in the spirit! Dance with me!"
Pairing: Lilia Vanrouge x GN!Reader/Prefect/Yuu
Genre: Fluff
TW: Lilia attempts culinary terrorism lol
Tumblr media
It wasn't everyday that you saw Silver running over to you as if being chased by blot monsters. You stood up from where you had been tending to the small flower garden you had planted in front of Ramshackle. The usually stoic boy had a look in his eyes that immediately put you on your guard, and so you met him halfway. Your eyebrows furrowed in concern when he doubled over, hands holding his knees and breathing wild and fast.
"Silver?" You spoke to him as one would approach a wounded animal, careful not to make any sudden moves. "Are you okay? Is everything alright?"
Silver looked up at you, eyes wide with a deep-seated dread in them that was all too familiar to you. "Father-" he wheezed, and you rubbed his back, encouraging him to breathe. "Father is trying to cook-"
You grimaced. You loved Lilia but.... his cooking left much to be desired. "Did you try distracting him?"
"Sebek and Malleus tried, but he's determined to cook dinner today. We couldn't get him to leave the stove alone for more than five minutes," he said, finally standing upright, his cheeks flushed from the energy he exerted in running from Diasomnia to Ramshackle. "It is tradition to have a grand feast today. Back in Briar Valley, the feast would be prepared by the chefs at Malleus' castle, but since we are here, Father took it upon himself to follow the tradition."
"Oh. Oh no."
"Prefect, please. You are our only hope now."
You let out a soft chuckle. With the way the silver haired boy was acting, one would think the world was ending. "Let's go and stop your father from committing any culinary terrorism, hm?"
Tumblr media
Malleus watched the ancient fae as he danced in the kitchen, a smile on his lips as he cut and measured and mixed ingredients into the pot bubbling away merrily on the stove. Diasomnia's lounge was empty, the students having retreated into their rooms in order to avoid having to eat their vice-housewarden's cooking.
"Has Silver not yet returned with the Child of Man?" He asked Sebek softly, careful not to alert Lilia to their presence after they politely turned down his offer of acting as his taste-testers.
"No, my liege," Sebek hesitated, one eye trained on the door. "What if he fell asleep on the way to Ramshackle? Perhaps I must-"
The door opened at that moment, and in came Silver, followed by you. Sebek frowned in displeasure as he whispered to the silver-haired boy, "What took the two of you so long-!"
"Nevermind that," Malleus placed a hand on Sebek's shoulder as he made his way to you, effectively shutting him up. "Child of man," the young fae prince started, your hands clasped tightly in his, "I implore you to help us. Silver must have made you aware of the situation..."
You nodded, and Malleus let out a sigh of relief. "Go ahead and work your magic, Child of Man. We wish you success," he hummed, gently pushing you in the direction of the kitchen. The three watched intently as you entered, each one praying that you'd be able to accomplish what they could not.
"Lilia," you called out to your lover as you entered, smiling when he turned to you with an overjoyed look on his face. "Little bat," Lilia chuckled as he skipped over to you, pot of unidentified (and hopefully uneaten by the end of the night) matter forgotten.
Taking your hands in his Lilia spun you around, relishing in the sound of your laughter. "What are you doing here?"
"What, I can't come over to see you when I want?"
"Of course you can. Nobody could possibly stop you," he hummed, pulling you close. Lilia smiled as he looked at you, eyes sparkling under the kitchen lights. Sparkling eyes that turned curious when he saw you take your phone out and place it on the counter.
His questions were answered as a soft little tune began to play from the device. One he recognized as a fairly popular winter song in Briar Valley.
"Dance with me?" You asked, holding out your hand to him. Lilia smiled and took it, your warmth bleeding into him through the point of contact.
"It would be my pleasure, my dear~"
Silver smiled as he watched the two of them waltz around the kitchen, before turning to Malleus and Sebek. "We should give them some time alone," he suggested and Malleus nodded. The three of them left, hearts lighter and stomachs grateful for your intervention.

Prompt: "I thought you were going home for Christmas." - "Well, I couldn’t leave you all alone."
Pairing: Silver x Gn!Reader/Prefect/Yuu
Genre: Fluff
TW: NA
Tumblr media
Silver paced up and down his room. The clacking of his boots soft and controlled, he walked from one side to the other, while a pair of garnet eyes watched him closely.
Lilia leaned back against the headboard, hand gently stroking the little sparrow that had flown in earlier to sit on Silver's desk. The tiny bird and the ancient fae watched the human boy pace patiently; the bird unaware of the reason behind his anxiousness, the fae finding amusement in it.
Silver took one look at the digital clock sitting on his desk, then continued his steps. Click clack, click clack, click clack-
The door opened, and both father and son looked towards it. Malleus entered the room, closing the door behind him with a carefulness that seemed at odds with his intimidating stature. The carefulness of a being far too powerful to be careless.
Silver looked up at the fae prince. Verdant gaze met auroral eyes, and with a shake of his head, Malleus replied to the wordless question he could see in Silver's eyes.
"They declined my offer."
Silver seemed to deflate at his words, sitting down onto his bed with a frown pulling at his lips. Lilia raised an eyebrow, leaning forward to look at Malleus better. "Oh?"
Malleus nodded, sitting next to Silver, his head turned in Lilia's direction to answer him.
"The Child of man thanked me for inviting them to Briar Valley, but said that they wished not to impose on us. I could not change their mind."
Turning to the youngest in the room, he whispered, "My apologies, Silver."
Silver shook his head, "No need to apologize, Malleus. I know you must have tried your best."
Lilia looked at the young boys in front of him. Both of whom looked very down about your refusal to visit their land. Lilia knew you meant no harm, that you merely wanted to have them enjoy their holidays without taking on the role of a gracious host to a guest. But while he was privy to knowledge of how your mind must have been working when you turned Malleus down, he was also too invested in what steps Silver would take to actually tell them that.
Ah, young love. So precious and pure... and entertaining, he thought to himself as he watched Silver deliberate on Malleus' words till he physically could before yet another one of his sleeping spells caught up to him.
Tumblr media
Bundled up in your favorite blanket in front of the merry fire that danced in the fireplace and warmed the entirety of Ramshackle, you finished the last bit of homework Professor Crewel had assigned over the holidays. Finding your days far too free, since your friends had already left for their homes, you decided to get your sizeable portion of homework done before inevitably having to lend a helping hand to Grim, who was currently busy snoring away.
The dorm was quiet, save for the soft snores emanating from where Grim lay on the sofa, one paw leaning off the side. Even the ghosts had decided to keep a low profile, sleepily shuffling along somewhere in the dorm. The air felt like a comforting hug, lulling you into peaceful relaxation.
One that was quickly shattered by the ringing of the bell. You frowned in confusion as you sat straight, gently coaxing Grim who had startled at the sound back to sleep much like a mother with their child, before getting up to check who was at your door. As you walked to the door, your glanced over to the clock.
7:30 p.m., it read, and you hummed. Who could it be?
Twisting the doorknob, you opened to find Silver, one of his hands outstretched to ring your bell again, his other hand behind his back. He froze when he made eye contact with you, hand hovering in the air awkwardly for a few moments before dropping to his side.
"Prefect," he breathed out, his breath fogging in the chill that was synonymous with the evenings nowadays. "Silver..?" You said, words soft as you take a step toward him, a shiver running down your spine. Your cheeks darkened slightly as you gave him a smile.
Dressed in a rather simple dark green coat with a black turtle-neck and black pants, Silver looked as though he had walked out of a fashion magazine. The scarf around his neck was grey and quite obviously a handmade one. You could easily guess whose handiwork it was to be so proudly presented on the silver-haired boy, who was currently peering down at you with his silver eyelashes dusted with snowflakes.
"Oh, I'm so stupid, I should've asked you to come in," you mumbled before ushering him in, and Silver gave you a fond smile. Closing the door behind him, you looked at him properly as Silver removed his coat.
"So... what are you doing here? I thought you were going home for the holidays?"
"Well, I couldn't leave you all alone."
Your heartbeat sped as you looked up at the silver-haired boy, cheeks tinted with the slightest bit of colour at his sweet words. You let out a chuckle, missing the way Silver's eyes seemed to soften.
"I'm not alone, y'know? I have Grim and the ghosts to keep me company," you smiled, and Silver couldn't help himself. His hand reached to hold the side of your face, thumb gently caressing your cheek. You flushed at the gentle touch, looking up at him with a question in your eyes.
"And what if I am alone? What if I need your company?" He asked, words so soft that they might as well have never been spoken. You wondered if he even meant for you to hear them. Heart beating in your chest so fiercely that you worried it may burst out, you asked, "Are you upset that I turned down Malleus' invitation?"
Silver was silent for a few minutes. "Perhaps a little," he admitted bashfully. "I do not want you to feel obliged to visit Briar Valley, but... I cannot help but want to show you the place where I grew up. The place which helped shape me into who I am today."
"When you say it like that.... how am I supposed to tell you no?" You asked, shaking your head with a smile. Silver's eyes widened as his lips stretched into a slight smile. "Are you...? I mean, would you...?"
"Fine, since you asked so nicely," you playfully sigh, "I'll come visit Briar Valley with you. But Silver, you need to promise me something."
"Anything."
"Next time, just ask me directly, you dork."

Prompt: "Stop trying to get me to walk under the mistletoe.” “You break the tradition and you end up being cursed for life. Is that what you want?” “…Are you blackmailing me right now?”
Pairing: Floyd Leech x GN!Reader
Genre: Fluff
TW: Reader is not Yuu, Reader is implied to be human and an Octavinelle student, Jade is a menace who let's his brother get away with everything.
Tumblr media
AN: Day 3 and it's Floyd! His was the first fic that I completed so I have a special spot for this in my heart. I love how this turned out honestly. Also this prompt was the one that gave me the idea to do this event in the first place lol. I tried my best to keep Floyd in character as much as I could, but if he feels ooc I'm sorry hehe. Anyways, I hope you enjoy!
Tumblr media
You could feel Floyd staring holes into your head as you served the customers in the Mostro Lounge.
The Lounge was busier than usual. With the steady arrival of the holidays, even the gruelling exams the staff had set for the student body couldn't dampen their spirits, which meant celebrating in advance at the Lounge with friends. And with business booming your house warden was in even higher spirits. Of course, the growing rush of patrons for the Lounge meant that nearly all of Octavinelle was roped in to help out, serving dishes and working in the kitchen.
A little extra pocket money never hurt anyone, plus Azul had assured that everyone who would work a certain amount of hours at the lounge would be getting a considerable bonus, so you didn't mind having to work long hours scrubbing dishes or smiling at customers as you helped them pick out what to eat and drink. It was a welcome distraction from poring over your books till your brain turned to mush and driving yourself up the wall overthinking about the results of your exams (that you knew you did well at; it's just irrational fears doing what they do best).
What you did mind, however, was the fact that somehow, you had managed to catch the attention of one of the most unpredictable students at Night Raven College, Floyd Leech.
No, scratch that. Catching his attention was... fine, but holding it for more than two days?
That was terrifying.
You mentally cursed out the idiot who had attached sprigs of mistletoe to all the doorways in the Octavinelle dorm. While it had led to many funny and embarrassing moments for others in the dorm, it had quickly become tiresome to monitor yourself while entering or exiting a room. Especially when the mistletoe couldn't be removed with normal and magical means, much like a heterochromatic eel merman who just wouldn't let you be ever since you explained the silly tradition behind them to him.
"Heeyy flying fishie~"
The familiar drawl of his voice made you freeze momentarily. You held the empty server tray close to your chest as if the round piece of metal could somehow protect you from the tall eel who had taken an interest in you. "Yes, Floyd?"
Floyd gave you a lazy smirk, swinging an arm around your neck and leaning against you. You struggled a bit to hold yourself up with his added weight. You watched your vice-house warden and the twin brother of this menace turn a blind eye to your predicament, and resisted the urge to throw the tray at Jade's head as you caught a glimpse of a smirk on his lips.
"Say, why'd you run away from me yesterday, hm? Did ya wanna get squeezed that badly?" Floyd giggled, and you couldn't figure out whether your heart was cartwheeling inside your chest out of fear or because of how unbelievably adorable that sound was.
"I just- I needed to study."
"Ehhh? Study?" Floyd narrowed his eyes at you, and you prayed you had not flipped the switch on his mood from happy to angry.
"Studying's boooring. I wanna play with flying fishie~" Floyd hummed, a mysterious glint in his eyes as he pulled you towards the kitchen. One that went unnoticed as your eyes caught sight of the one plant you had started dreading seeing.
"Why is there mistletoe on the door to the kitchen?" You asked, but your question came too late. Floyd had already opened the door and pulled you in. Another sprig of mistletoe was stuck on the inside, the white berries looking down on the two of you through flecks of green. It felt like the tiny parasitic plant was mocking you for finally falling into its trap.
"Ohh, we're under mistletoe~ Just like a few days ago, isn't that right flying fishie~" he smirked, crowding you till you had your back against the door.
You looked past him to see.... no one?
Where did everyone go? Service wasn't over yet, so why was the kitchen empty?
"Flying fishie~ Where's my kiss~" he hummed, eyes carefully assessing you as his fingers pinched your cheek. You tried to act stern, but your words came out in a tired tone.
"Floyd, stop trying to get me to walk under the mistletoe with you."
“You break the tradition and you end up being cursed for life. That's what you told me. Is that what you want?” he said, his face turning sombre, as if he hadn't been smiling at you all this while.
"Are- Are you seriously blackmailing me right now?!” you sputtered, your heart beating fast as you looked at him. Floyd leaned forward, smiling innocently.
"Maybe~"
You weighed your options, eyes carefully watching the other, much to his amusement. You were well and truly trapped between the door and this absolute wall of an eel with no way out. Atleast, none that didn't involve you giving in to the tradition some way.
Huffing, you finally decided on a course of action. You held his smug face and turned it to the side, quickly planting a kiss on his cheek. The shock and surprise of this unexpected kiss loosened his hold on you, and you quickly slipped out the door.
Speed-walking past a chuckling Jade and a confused Azul, you tried to control the heat you could feel in your cheeks and at the back of your neck by sheer force of will. A quick glance at the clock showed that your shift for the day was over.
You had never left the Lounge quicker.
Jade entered the kitchen, a smile on his face as he saw Floyd leaning against the wall with a surprised look.
"Flying fishie kissed me," he mumbled, and Jade had to force back the amused laugh that threatened to break free. "I suppose the mistletoe worked its magic. Humans sure do have funny rituals."
Jade's words seemed to bring back the spark in Floyd, who gave his twin a blinding smile. "I'm gonna go ask them for more!" he said as he rushed past him, and Jade shook his head in amusement as he called out to his twin.
"Remember to confess this time, Floyd."

Tumblr media
Prompt: "No, I'm not buying you that."
Pairing: Divus Crewel and GN!Reader/Prefect/Yuu (familial)
Genre: Fluff
TW: None
Tumblr media
AN: I want Crewel to terrorise Crowley into giving Yuu everything they need and want, so this is my contribution to the agenda lmao. I had so much fun writing this, and I hope you enjoy it just as much! ^^
Tumblr media
"What's next on our list, pup?"
Divus Crewel's voice was crisp and clear as he spoke to you. The two of you had been out shopping, now that the winter holidays had started. Even though Night Raven College was officially out for the holidays, Crewel would often visit the college to check up on the various plants in the greenhouse (and on you).
"Sweaters," you hummed, following him around with bags containing everything you had bought so far. Crewel had a soft spot for you, and it showed with how adamant he was about you and Grim celebrating the holidays properly.
He had told you that it was a unanimous decision of the entire staff of Night Raven College to have any and all expenses incurred by you during the winter break to be taken up by the institution (read: Crowley) as thanks for all that you did, from being Crowley's unofficial assistant, to the numerous overblots you fought and by extension, the students you saved.
You went along with it, because hey, who would look a gift horse in the mouth? Especially when the horse was delivered by a surprisingly triumphant-looking Divus Crewel.
The professor walked slightly ahead of you, your next destination already in his mind. You lagged behind, eyes wandering here and there as you took in the sights of the town decorated for the winter.
Wandering eyes soon fell on a pair of sweaters displayed on the windows of one of the stores. The sweater was red, with the most tacky green tinsel wrapped around it in a manner that reminded you of Christmas trees. Small LED lights peeped out from between the plastic strands of tinsel, their light reflected on the baubles that decorated the sweater. The one next to it was an identical, but smaller version of it that seemed like it would fit a child. Twisted Wonderland had its own ugly sweater tradition, it seemed.
"Pup?" Professor Crewel placed his hand on your shoulder, breaking your staring contest with the golden baubles on the sweater. His gaze followed yours, and he raised an eyebrow at seeing what you had been so intrigued by.
"Can we get that?" You asked him, peering at him with the sweetest puppy dog eyes you could muster. Some things were just so ugly that they were cute, and this pair of sweaters was most certainly that. You wanted, no, needed to see Grim in the smaller version.
"No, I am not buying you that," Crewel hummed, eyebrows drawn into a frown as he looked from your pleading expression to the sweater on display.
"Why not?"
"(Name), I could make you a sweater much better than that."
"I know, but that's not what I want. I want those sweaters, please?" you blinked, and Crewel narrowed his eyes at you.
After a few moments of you defiantly tugging on his coat, he relented. He gave you a look which clearly showed his reluctance, but finally nodded his head in the direction of the door to the shop, permission silently given. You beamed at him before skipping into the shop, while all Crewel could do was shake his head as he followed you.
Oh well, Crowley was the one paying for it anyways.

Prompt: "When you were a kid, didn't you ever like to catch snowflakes on your tongue?" "It didn't snow where I used to live." "Wait, you've never seen real snow?!" "Yeah, it's not that bizarre a concept."
Pairing: Ace Trappola x Gn!Reader/Prefect/Yuu

"(Name)" Poke.
"(Name)" Poke.
"(Name)" Poke.
"(Name)-"
"Oh for Seven's sake Ace, what? " You turned to look at the ginger, slamming your potionology textbook shut with a loud slam. The coffee table shook under your hand, its creaky joints protesting against your abuse. Ace smirked, before poking out his tongue at you, a childish move to flame the embers of irritation he had so painstakingly built over the past hour.
His troubles earned him a smack on the head.
"Ow! What was that for?"
"You know exactly what that was for."
Ace huffed, crossing his arms over his chest. "You're no fun," he mumbled, nudging you with his elbow. "It's snowing outside, and we're stuck here, doing homework."
"Would you rather be out in the cold?" You asked, raising an eyebrow at him. Ace leaned back against the couch, sighing as if in great emotional pain like the drama queen he was.
"Don't you like the snow? It's the best thing about winter, well, except when my brother stuffs it down my shirt."
You smiled at his complaining, and Ace kept talking.
"Like seriously, name something that's better than playing in the snow."
"Staying warm and cosy inside? Having hot tea or coffee? Getting our assignments done so we don't piss off Professor Crewel?"
"Woah, woah, what's with all the snow hate?" Ace chuckled, raising his hands in a show of surrender. "When you were a kid, didn't you ever like to catch snowflakes on your tongue?"
"Well, it didn't snow where I used to live. So no."
Ace's eyes widened as he sat up straight. "Wait, you've never seen real snow?!"
"Yeah, it's not that bizarre a concept," you shrugged. "I didn't see it before I came to Twisted Wonderland. And even then I didn't really enjoy the first winter I spent here, considering everything that went down in Scarabia..."
Ace was silent at your reminder of the incident with Jamil's overblot. His eyebrows were furrowed as though he was thinking hard about something. After a few minutes of thinking, he stood up and pulled you to your feet. "Let's go out and play in the snow."
"What? Why- Ace?!" You floundered as Ace began pulling you towards the door, stopping near the cupboard to pull out some jackets and scarves for the two of you.
"C'mon, it'll be fun. Live a little, will ya?"
You rolled your eyes as you let him help you into your jacket. "Fine, but if you get sick, I'm not going to be doing your work for you."
"Sure, sure."

Tumblr media
Prompt: "What are you doing?" - "Making a snow angel."
Pairing: Azul Ashengrotto x GN!Reader/Prefect/Yuu
Genre: Fluff
TW: NA
Tumblr media
"Prefect?"
The familiar, slightly raspy voice had you smile as you turned to look at a bleary-eyed Azul.
Dressed in his pajamas and rubbing the sleep out of his eyes, your boyfriend squinted at your fully dressed form in confusion.
"Where are you going?" He asked, voice raspy. He must have woken up after feeling the lack of your warmth in bed beside him. Azul walked down the last few steps, sluggishly making his way to you.
You smiled brightly, earning a slightly smaller yet entirely enamored smile from the octo-mer. You reached out for him, one hand smoothing down his hair which was sticking up in all directions, while the other caressed his cheek. Azul closed his eyes in bliss, pressing his lips to the inside of your wrist before repeating his question.
"I wanted to play in the snow, but you seemed so peaceful sleeping that I didn't want to wake you up," you hummed. Azul opened his eyes, turning his head just slightly to look outside a window, where he could see a blanket of white covering everything. "Oh," he mumbled, before looking back at you.
Azul wasn't the biggest fan of snow, or winters for that matter. The biting wind would rob his skin of its moisture, making him feel more uncomfortable in his human form. Being pelted with snowballs and almost buried alive in the snow by the Leech twins during their first year at NRC had also stripped him of any joy he could have felt at the sight of the semi-solid water.
But Azul knew you loved the snow. He had heard you speak at length about how you would have fun and play in the snow with your friends back in your world. Even Jade had remarked on your enthusiasm for it after your trip to Epel's hometown.
"You should go out and play in the snow if that is what you wish for," he spoke as he fiddled with your scarf around your neck. "I'll make us some breakfast in the meantime."
"You mean brunch," you corrected him, a mischievous glint in your eyes. Azul's gaze shifted from you to the wall clock, which showed that it was 10:30 a.m. The grey-haired boy shook his head, smiling to himself.
"Ah, pardon me. Brunch," he hummed, eyes carefully assessing your condition to make sure that you wouldn't freeze out in the cold. "I'll call you in when it's ready."
You beamed at him, quickly pressing a chaste kiss to his cheek and leaving a flustered octomer behind as you rushed off to play in the snow.
Tumblr media
Azul sighed as he placed the final dish onto the table. Pride bubbled in him as he saw everything that he had made for the two of you to enjoy, the meal sure to be hearty and healthy.
Now it was only a matter of getting you inside.
Azul grabbed his coat, scarf and gloves from the cupboard beside the entrance, putting them on properly before taking a step out in the cold. The wind wasn't as sharp today, yet the chill in the air had his ears and cheeks turning red.
Azul looked out at the snow, trying to make out where you were. He finally found you lying on your back, moving your hands and legs up and down in the snow.
"What are you doing?" He asked, amusement coloring his voice as he walked over to you. You gave him an absolutely delighted smile as you looked up at him, showing no signs of getting up as you answered his question. " I'm making a snow angel."
"A snow angel?" He raised his eyebrow at you, helping you up when you reached out your arms to him.
He helped dust the snow off your clothes, gloved hands gently patting down as you looked at your creation with pride. Azul was amused by the expectant glint in your eyes when you turned to look at him, showing off your artwork as you asked, "What do you think?"
"It's beautiful," he answered, with no hesitation, eyes glued to your face.
"You didn't even take a good look at it!" You chuckled, playfully shoving him. Azul smiled, wrapping his arm around your waist and pulling you close to him.
"Anything you make, is a thing of beauty, my dear Prefect," he hummed, pressing his lips against your cheek. "I don't need to see it to believe it."
For once in his life, Azul thanked the cold for allowing him to disguise his reddened cheeks as a mere consequence of the chill in the air as you turned to look at him. His eyes softened as you laughed at his words, before he pulled you back to Ramshackle, eager to get some food in you before you continued playing in the snow.

Tumblr media
Prompt: "You have a fever."
Pairing: Epel Felmier x Gn!Reader/Prefect/Yuu
Genre: Fluff
TW: NA
Tumblr media
"Come on, (Name). Please? " Epel batted his eyelashes at you.
You sighed, tilting your head slightly as you looked at him. Fighting against the part of you that just wanted to coo at him and give into his demands was hard, but you managed to contain yourself. You remained silent, watching the shorter boy fidget under your intent gaze.
"Epel is smart," Vil had told you, days before he had to leave for some project. "Despite his hesitancy in using his beauty, he will employ it against you should he want something. He knows you well, Prefect. But you mustn't give in."
I mustn't give in, you chanted in your mind as you looked at Epel, who was growing more antsy by the minute.
"You've just recovered from that cold, Epel. I don't think it'd be a good idea to go out and play in the snow when it's not even been that long," you tried to get him to see reason. "Besides, I'm pretty sure Rook was instructed by Vil to keep an eye on you. If this gets back to him..."
"It won't get back to him!" Epel huffed, crossing his arms over his chest as he switched the puppy eyes for a pout. Sevens, was he aiming to persuade you, or to kill you?
"Vil's not here, and Rook's going to the mountains today–"
"Why?"
"– I don't really know, but that's besides the point. (Name), I'm bored. I've been stuck in my room for almost a week, I'm fine now! Besides, isn't it Vil who says going outside is good for your health?"
"He says that to have you join him when he's jogging," you hummed in amusement. "Also, who says I'll not snitch on you to Vil?"
Epel took a step closer to you, gently reaching out to hold your hand in his. A light tug, followed by a soft "Please...?" had you blushing and looking away. Epel tilted forward to catch the expression on your face while you tried to cover it with your free hand.
You mentally apologized to Vil for failing to resist Epel's charms. For someone who disliked being called cute or any synonyms of it, he sure knew how to wield his cuteness. And you were but a weak, weak human.
"Fine. Fifteen minutes," you said, trying to ignore the way Epel's face lit up with smug happiness. "Only fifteen minutes."
"I'll take that!" He smiled as he placed a quick kiss on your cheek, leaving you dumbfounded. The smile on his face quickly turned into a mischievous grin as he let go of you and turned, running out of his dorm yelling, "Last one out's a rotten egg!"
"Hey, not fair!" You yelled back as you chased him.
Tumblr media
"You have a fever," Vil's voice rang out, a disappointed note to his words as he stared down at the thermometer in his hand. You squirmed in your place on Epel's bed, twiddling your thumbs. A quick glance to your side showed you an equally miserable and sick Epel mirroring your position.
"In our defense," you started, voice slightly croaky as you looked up at the Pomefiore housewarden, "we were out for only 15 minutes."
"And look what that brought upon the two of you," Vil deadpanned, looking very much like an exasperated mother as he made sure both of you were comfortable.
Rook stood silently in the corner of the room, not moving a muscle as he watched the three of you from where he'd been placed on timeout. His crime? Letting you two be unsupervised for an entire day. You felt bad for him, letting him know that with an apologetic smile in his direction, which he returned with one of his own.
"Honestly... I was away for three days, potatoes," he sighed, manicured hands carefully pressing a cold damp towel to your forehead, then doing the same to Epel. Neither one of you commented on his fussing, not wanting to get scolded any more than you already had.
"Now wait here while I go and brew you some medicinal potions."
"Uh, Vil we could just get some from the infirmary-"
"I said, wait here, like good little spudlings," Vil calmly stared at you, lips curling into a triumphant smile when none of you dared to make a sound in protest. "Good. Rook?"
The blonde in the corner turned his attention to his housewarden. "Yes?"
"Keep an eye on them."

Prompt: "Did you spike our hot chocolate?"
Pairing: Jack Howl x GN!Reader/Prefect/Yuu
Genre: Fluff, Slight crack
TW: The characters are aged up.
Tumblr media
"Here you go, hot chocolate with extra marshmallows for you," you hummed, placing the cup of warm, chocolatey goodness on the coffee table in front of Jack.
The wolf beastman smiled up at you, hands gently cradling your daughter as she slept against him. You mirrored his smile, trying to resist the urge to take a picture of the sweet moment.
"Want me to put her to bed?" You asked, hands already outstretched to take your daughter. "If you don't mind," Jack spoke, mindful of his sleeping cub as he handed her over to you. The child stirred ever so slightly at being moved, but a gentle brush over her two fluffy wolf ears had her settle back against your chest, peacefully dreaming.
You walked over to your daughter's room, humming a tune under your breath to fill the silence of the night. It only took you a few minutes to tuck her in because she was sleeping so soundly; playing around with her father all day had evidently tired her.
Gently closing the door behind you, you made your way back to the living room where your husband was. A small detour was made to the kitchen to get your own cup of hot chocolate before you joined Jack on the couch, leaning against him.
Jack wrapped his arms around your waist, pulling you flush against him. He left a sweet kiss against the crown of your head, before taking a sip of the hot chocolate you had so lovingly made for him.
His nose caught the slightest hint of something in the thick and rich scent of the chocolate that had his lips turning upwards at the corners. "(Name), did you spike our hot chocolate?"
You smiled as you took another sip of yours. "Maybe...."
You heard him huff in amusement, placing the cup back on the coffee table. "I made that with love, you know?" You said, as Jack nuzzled your hair.
He hummed, playfully nibbling on the shell of your ear as you tried to swat at him. "I need to meet Ruggie-senpai tomorrow. Shouldn't be hungover for that reunion."
"Oh please, it's not like I poured the entire bottle in it. You won't get tipsy off of one slightly spiked hot chocolate."
"Maybe, but I will definitely get tipsy off of your love."
You whipped your head back to look at Jack as soon as those words left his mouth. And just as you had thought, a pretty little blush had settled over his cheeks as he looked like a deer caught in headlights.
"Who are you and what have you done with my tsundere wolf?" You teased him, and Jack groaned, hiding his face behind one hand. "Well..? Who are you?" You persisted, coupling your teasing with pokes in his side.
"I'm going to bed."
"Hey, you didn't answer me!"
"Good night, (Name)."
"Jack!"

Prompt: "Happy Holidays/Merry Christmas. I love you."
Pairing: Vil Schoenheit x GN!Reader (with background RookVil x GN!Reader)
Genre: Heavy Angst, proceed with caution
TW: Major character death, suicide, heavy drinking.
Tumblr media
AN: Its my birthday! I dont know why, but i usually feel terrible on my birthday, so I gave you guys the option of choosing between a happy fic for today, or an angst. You chose angst, so here we are. Please exercise caution before, during and after you read. If you or someone you know is having suicidal thoughts, please get in touch with professionals. You are loved, and will be missed, so please take care of yourself. If at any point you feel like stopping reading, please do. Your mental health comes before anything else. I hope you enjoy... Merry Christmas to everyone!
Tumblr media
Vil sat down on his couch, sinking into its warmth with his fifth glass of wine in hand. Once upon a time, he would have frowned upon doing something like this. He was a notorious lightweight, and despised the headache that accompanied him on the day after.
But now, the pleasant buzz that the alcohol created in his mind was a welcome distraction.
Vil's gaze fell on the TV remote. He reached for it and switched it on, it's artificial light casting on his face and lighting up the otherwise dark room.
"And in other news, acclaimed actor and director Vil Schoenheit announces his retirement from the entertainment industry at the fairly young age of 34. A public statement was released earlier this month by his agency, right after the release of his latest film, 'Eternity'. This news has come as a shock to many of the star's fans, but-"
Vil tuned out the TV as the newscaster spoke of how well his last movie was doing in theatres and how everyone wished him well in the future. Words blurred into sounds and the TV screen into colours as he took another sip of his wine, closing his eyes as he tipped his head back on the couch.
His phone vibrated inside his pocket. Removing it, Vil saw a message from Epel.
Merry Christmas. Hope you're having a good time. Mawmaw asked me to send you this pic, and told me to invite you to Harveston sometime for some apple pie.
Underneath it was a picture of Epel and his grandmother in their kitchen, both holding a plate of said apple pie in their hands.
Vil smiled, then decided to check his other messages. A voice message from Jack wishing him Merry Christmas, a whole paragraph of text courtsey of Rook, and many more messages from his coworkers and acquaintances. He replied to every one of them, answering each with a thoughtful message that somehow his alcohol-addled brain could type coherently.
As lilac eyes wandered over his chat log, they caught one last message. It was from his manager. Or, well, ex-manager.
Vil.
In all the years I have spent managing young actors, I have not seen one as talented and dedicated as you. Not many spend their time honing and perfecting their craft as you do. It is a shame to see you leaving the spotlight so soon, but I know this is something you have needed for quite some time.
Take this time to take care of yourself, Vil. (Name) would have wanted you to. Merry Christmas, and a Happy New Year.
Vil stilled as he read the last few sentences. "(Name)...".
The moonlight painted a solemn scene as it fell on the lone man, coloring his blonde locks an enchanting silver as he picked up his wine glass. He gulped the drink in one go, the slightly bitter liquid burning his throat in a familiar manner as he placed the glass on the coffee table.
Vil smiled, then tried to stand. The five glasses of wine had begun showing their effect, and he had to lean against the armrest of the couch to stop the world from spinning in front of his eyes.
Slowly, he made his way to the master bedroom. Upon reaching, he walked over to the bed, forgoing his usual skincare routine in favour of tucking himself in.
Vil sat upright in bed, eyes trained on the lone flowerpot kept at the windowsill. The lilies stirred ever so slightly under the light breeze coming in through the open window, as though shivering under the weight of his gaze. Gaze filled with profound love, and sorrow, and resolve.
"(Name)..."
Vil's voice was not more than a whisper, yet that one word uttered from his lips seemed to fill the silence that shrouded the room. He took a shaky breath, hand closing around the bottle of sleeping pills he had on his bedside table.
The clock struck twelve from somewhere within the house, it's soft sound echoing throughout. Outside, Vil heard cheers coming from people who were spending Christmas with their loved ones.
He looked back at the red lilies, and smiled. A genuine, unpracticed smile that had not seen the light of day ever since the love of his life died.
"Merry Christmas (Name). I love you."

Rook was a hunter, through and through. He prided himself on his observation skills, on his judgments. Usually, he could see things coming from a mile away.
He did not see Vil's suicide from a mile away.
The blonde haired man was one of the first to be informed of it, and also the one to whom most of his possessions were bequeathed to.
Rook did not care much for most of the things Vil had left him. He had also left him with a hole in his heart, and a permanent pain in his soul. Yet, as he gazed at the flowerpot with the red tulips in it, and the matching one with white magnolias beside it, he could not blame Vil.
Calloused hands trembled as they caressed the petals of the flowers. It felt almost sacrilegious to touch, as if the pure flowers were taunting him for the blood that stained his hands.
Tears dropped down onto the silky petals, clinging to them like drops of fresh dew. Rook's hands slid down to touch the flowerpots, where the letters engraved spelled out the names of two people he thought of as the very epitome of beauty.
The lilies grew on the essence and memory of (Name) Schoenheit, and the magnolias welcomed the ashes of Vil Schoenheit.

Prompt: “I think December 1st is my favorite day of the whole year. On winter’s edge, with the promise of the holiday season, but not close enough to feel rushed. It’s just always felt perfect.”
Pairing: Grim and Gn!Reader/Prefect/Yuu (Familial)
Genre: Fluff
TW: NA
Tumblr media
AN: 1st of December, and here we go! Kicking this thing off with everyone's favorite son/sidekick, Grim! Also, for the entirety of the event, let's just pretend that Christmas is a thing in Twisted Wonderland lol. I'm kinda not happy with the ending, but I'm proud of the rest. I hope you enjoy ^^
Tumblr media
"Grim? I'm home," you called out, and a sleepy little purr reverberated through the air in acknowledgement of your words.
A familiar bundle of grey fur and warmth made his way to you as you put away your coat and scarf in the small cupboard beside the door. Grim rubbed the sleep out of his eyes, his paws pitter-pattering on the floor of your home as he made his way to you. Your favourite blanket was draped on his shoulders like a cape, the rest of the (f/c) cloth dragging on the floor behind him. He must've fallen asleep waiting for you.
You couldn't help but smile at the cat monster who had become family to you in the unfamiliar world that was Twisted Wonderland. He looked like a small child walking over to greet his parent after a long day. Carefully you scooped him up, with only a grunt and a grumble of protest from him, wrapping the rest of your blanket around him like a cocoon.
"Did you miss me, Grimmy?" You teased him, your tone as soft as it was mischievous. Grim huffed from his place in your arms, turning slightly and nuzzling against the crook of your neck. You already knew his answer.
The two of you graduated from Night Raven College years ago. Scouts from all over Twisted Wonderland sought you after learning about the magicless human who had managed to graduate with flying colours from one of the top arcane institutions. But you decided to pursue even higher studies, eventually ending up back at Night Raven College, this time as one of the faculty members.
You walked over to the living room, where the fire burned in the hearth and warmed the entire house. Settling in front of the fire with Grim lying on your lap, you hummed a soft little tune. Christmas was a long way, but your students had already started listening to festive tunes, leading to this particular one getting stuck in your head.
"Grim, what's your favourite day?" You asked him, not really expecting an answer from the feline as you scratched that one spot behind his ear that you knew he liked. Grim's ears perked, his attention now on you.
"Whaddaya mean, hench-human?"
You smiled at the nickname. "You know, the day you like the most? Personally, December 1st is my favourite day of the whole year. On winter’s edge, with the promise of the holiday season, but not close enough to feel rushed. It’s just always felt perfect.”
Grim turned in your lap, looking up at you with bright blue eyes heavy with sleep. He pawed a little at the necklace that dangled from your neck absentmindedly as he seemed to mull over your question.
"Mine's... my birthday," he said, a yawn leaving him after the sentence.
You paused your careful scratching behind his ears momentarily, a little surprised. Grim didn't use to have a birthday. At least, not until you decided to give him one, after a night of celebrating your own. The two of you celebrated the day he had met you at the entrance ceremony as his birthday, because that 'marked the start of the Great Grim's magical journey!' (his words).
"Oh?"
"Hmm.."
"Any special reason?" You asked, voice soft as you continued scratching behind his ears. Grim leaned into your touch, eyes closed as he replied, "'cause... it's the day I met you, hench-human..."
Your eyes softened as Grim's breathing evened out, your gentle actions nudging him into a deep sleep. Your hands continued lightly petting him, smoothing down the grey fur.
As the light from the hearth illuminated your figure curled up comfortably on the couch with Grim sleeping away on your lap, you couldn't help but agree more with your previous statement.
December 1st was perfect.

Prompt: "Aww come here!" "Nonono your hands are cold! What'd you do, dip them in the snow?" "It's not snowing." "Tell that to your hands!"
Pairing: Kalim Al Asim x Gn!Reader/Prefect/Yuu
Genre: Fluff
TW: NA
Tumblr media
"-And then Jamil told me I wasn't going to be allowed to leave the dorm for the next week," Kalim pouted at you, picking at a stray thread on his bedsheets. "He said I needed to study for Professor Trein's History of Magic test."
"How serious was he when he said that?" You asked your boyfriend, fingers drumming on a pillow to a tune that had came to your mind during Professor Crewel's class and had yet to leave.
"He was very serious, and scary! Super scary!"
"Well, then our hands are tied. I'm definitely not going against Jamil and risking making him angry," you sighed as you leaned against the headboard of his bed, hugging the pillow close to your chest. "I guess we don't have a choice but to postpone our date..."
Kalim visibly deflated at your words, looking like a kitten that had been left out in the rain. The utter disappointment etched on his face tugged at your heartstrings.
"Well.." you started, unable to stifle the smile that graced your lips at the way he perked up at the sound of your voice, " we could try something... Jamil said that you needed to study for the history test next week, right? But he didn't specify exactly who you had to study with..." you trailed off, letting him fill in the blanks himself.
Garnet eyes, which were dull with regret before turned into sparkling rubies filled with excitement.
"A study date! That's genius, (Name)!" Kalim laughed, face alight with happiness as he looked at you. The slightest hint of color tinted your cheeks at the grateful and loving look Kalim was sending you.
You looked away, rubbing the back of your neck in slight embarassment as he continued spoke.
"Jamil might be a bit sceptical at first, but we'll show him that we can study together with not problems! Maybe you'd even be able to get me to concentrate, ahaha!"
Just then, something else came to his mind.
"But, don't you have a test in Professor Crewel's class next week? If you're stuck tutoring me...," Kalim bit his lower lip in worry as he looked at you. To his surprise, you looked perfectly at ease, and your relaxed state helped calm him down as well.
"I've already finished studying for that. I could just revise a day before the test and still get a good enough score," you told him. "Besides, I'd much rather spend time helping you with your studies than postponing our date because of a few tests."
Kalim couldn't help himself. Not when you were being so sweet to him.
"Aww, come here!" He cheered, immediately glomping you. You yelped as his weight pushed you down onto the bed, and his surprisingly ice-cold hands gripping your waist made you squirm.
"Nonono, your hands are cold! What'd you do, dip them in the snow?"
Jovial laughter spilled out of the boy, mirth dancing in his eyes as he held on tighter. "It's not snowing, silly. We're in Scarabia!"
"You- Tell that to your hands!"

Prompt: “Do you want to put the star on the top of the tree?”
Pairing: Mozus Trein and GN!Reader/Yuu/Prefect (Familial)
Genre: Fluff
TW: NA
Tumblr media
AN: I don't really have much to say about Trein lol. Hope you enjoy!
Tumblr media
"Oh, come here lil' guy," you hummed, gently scooping Lucius from his place on the bay window seat. The cat let out a disgruntled meow, signalling his dissatisfaction as he looked at you with judgemental eyes. You just smiled at him innocently, cradling him like the furry little baby he was.
"Just gotta... there!" Anna smiled, decorating the bay window with tinsel and fairy lights. Delighted by her own work, she took a moment to take it all in. Turning to you, she said, "Well, that's the last of it done."
"Anna! (Name)! Come help decorate the tree if you're done with the rest of the house!" Ella called out to the two of you, making you gently let down Lucius from his perch in your arms. The feline sauntered off, out the door of the library and into the hallway as the two of you followed.
When Professor Trein found out that you were going to stay alone at Night Raven College for the winter holidays, he extended an invitation to you to spend the holidays with him and his daughters. Mozus Trein had grown fond of you, to the point where he regaled his daughters with stories of your adventures in the academy through the letters they exchanged regularly; Anna and Ella had been worryingly happy to show you the letters, much to their father's embarrassment.
You had grown used to the cosy house that Professor Trein called his home in no time, mixing with his family like you were always meant to be a part of it. Anna and Ella were a delight to be around. The women had taken one look at you and declared you their sibling, spoiling you and Grim both throughout your stay.
Ella was the older, calmer pillar to the absolute bouncing-off-the-walls energy that Anna brought. Both women loved and respected their father immensely, refusing to let him do anything they deemed too strenuous while they were there (which was most things).
It was endearing to see the way both of them would intently watch their father whenever he moved through the house, eyes narrowing when they saw him trying to lift something, no matter how light. Ella's gentle taking of the object from his hands would be coupled with Anna's playful scolding, after which you'd be roped in to monitor the elderly man who'd be placed into a 'timeout' on the couch.
These 'timeouts' would lead to the two of you sitting peacefully on the couch, your respective feline companions dozing off or resting on your laps as Professor Trein regaled you with stories from his past, of trips to faraway places and beloved friends. You grew close with the Professor, soaking up his retelling of stories with such eagerness that for a moment Mozus Trein was reminded of days when he'd read stories to two young girls before tucking them into bed.
If he hadn't thought of you as family before, he did now.
Once you reached the living room, you paused to admire the Christmas tree that was being decorated by an enthusiastic Grim and a slightly exasperated but fond Professor Trein. Anna immediately bee-lined to the two with the aim of helping them, while nudging you to go and help Ella, who seemed to be dusting some pictures kept on the marble mantelpiece. You obliged with her wordless request, making your way to the older woman.
You spied her holding a photo with gentle hands as you came to a stop next to her. It was a photo of a younger Professor Trein and a woman. The woman held a baby in her arms, carefully lowering them so a young girl could look at the baby with curious eyes. You recognized the young girl as Ella, so the baby must have been Anna. And that would mean...
"This is my mother," Ella spoke, her voice softer than usual. "I think this is the last photo we have of all of us together. All other photos of Mother before she left us only have we three girls," she glanced at you, a soft smile on her lips. "Father isn't one for being in pictures himself you see, though he likes to take them," she explained, fingertips gently grazing the cleaned glass.
"... She was really pretty," you said, looking at the woman in the photograph. She really was. Her long and luxurious hair was the same shade as Ella's, and her eyes the same colour as Anna's. The way she looked at her two young daughters interacting with each other was kind and motherly. The younger version of Professor Trein in the picture seemed unaware that a picture was being taken, his attention fully focused on his three girls as he stood close to his late wife.
It was a beautiful picture of a perfect family.
"That she was," Ella hummed in agreement as she placed the picture back on the mantelpiece. "Father used to tell us that Mother was the daughter of a wealthy merchant. That, along with her beautiful face and agreeable nature, ensured that she had plenty of suitors back in the day," she smiled, then continued, "though he refuses to tell us how he managed to woo her. Anna believes that he serenaded her one night under the stars, and she fell for him. And that he's just too embarrassed to tell us that."
You laughed as a vision of a young Professor Trein, singing his love and admiration to his wife danced in front of your eyes, and Ella chuckled along. "Ridiculous, isn't it?"
"What is ridiculous?" Professor Trein asked from behind you, and your laughter increased. Ella looked at you in amusement, a hand on your shoulder to stabilise your laughing form as she gave her father an innocent smile, "Nothing father. Have you finished decorating the tree?"
Professor Trein looked behind him, where Grim and Anna were arguing about Grim wanting to eat the popcorn used to decorate the tree and sighed. He looked back at the two of you.
"Only the star remains. (Name), would you like to put the star on the tree?"
You look at Professor Trein with a slight surprise on your face. "Me?"
Professor Trein raises an eyebrow at you, the faintest hint of concern on his face, "Why, does the thought not please you? If so, then Anna or Ella could place the star; no need to fret."
You shook your head, "No! No, there's no problem. Uh... It's just that, back in my world... putting the star on the tree was kind of a big deal? It wasn't anything symbolic just... I remember fighting with my cousins to be the one to place it," you chuckled, trying to ignore the way your heart squeezed at the reminder that you didn't belong to this world. Your loved ones were not miles away, they were in an entirely different universe; who knew if you would ever see them again?
Professor Trein's eyes softened, and he placed a fatherly hand on your shoulder. "(Name). I would be happy if it were you placing the star on the tree," he said, giving you a smile you had only ever seen him give his daughters. A lump seemed to grow in your throat at the care and fondness in his gaze.
"Besides, if you require someone to fight with you for the position of honour, I'm sure Grim and Anna both would be more than willing opponents," he remarked, a side glance to the two who were still arguing about the popcorn.
You gave him a grateful smile, feeling the tell-tale burning in your eyes that signalled the coming of tears. Blinking them away, you said, "Thank you Professor Trein."
"You're welcome, kid."
