Back from the dead

It’s difficult to talk about because I have always been a person who wanted to please others and pretend to be someone I wasn’t I always hid behind a smile and never actually expressing my actual emotions even to my so called “close friends “ I felt so fake so one sided and when the day came when my friend/ex girlfriend broke my heart and stung me alone playing with my emotions and making me believe the way there will be an us again soon and also my ex best friend also left me and told me cruel things I decided I’m honestly tired of living this lie and continue it I decided to suck it up and push through it what sucked is that most of those people missed the “ old me “ even tho it wasn’t really me and them saying they will always see me as the person they knew back then witch made me disappointed in a way I’m never going to be what I was before I’m always gonna be changing and being better than I was yesterday I’m looking up now and leaving everything that happened to be in the past they made me who I was and now I can learn from all that I deleted my old Instagram and now I’m here on this one and even now I’m mostly on my personal account cause of how much I ended up loving myself and I can’t wait how much more I’ll grow and become the greatest person ever I’ve come this far and went on this long journey but even tho I couldn’t do this all alone ❤️

For Reborn he was realizing he might have a singular failure on his record. Tsuna would without a doubt shove off being a mafia boss on Xanxus who wanted it.

The Varia was in shock, while Tsuna's Guardians muttered if they should do anything about this.

All they could do then though was watch.

I can’t be the only one that noticed that music is having a rebirth era. Like for example MCRs entire new tour was basically a metaphor for the rebirth of the band (Like look at Foundations of Decay lyrics and then the merch and Gees outfits and tell me I’m wrong) and then Melanie Martinez’s new album is LITERALLY ABOUT CRYBABY DYING AND THEN BEING REBORN?????

It’s also worth noting to me (atleast) contemporary music has been a little bit lost lately. Like after being so incredibly aesthetic based for such a long time it just kind of drifted and then we had the whole Olivia Rodrigo era with those really bad TikTok nursery rhymes. And I think that the music industry itself is going to have a kind of rebirth. And it’s already kind of happening with new indie kind of type bands popping up randomly and climbing the charts. (I’m also pretty sure concept albums are going back into swing)

I might as well take advantage of the fact that I have practically no limits on tumblr and bring my latest brainworms tweet here.

I was thinking about how Melanie Martinez's third album PORTALS is written in all caps, along with the songs. Since it was announced, I thought it was an interesting choice to make. But earlier today, I thought more about it, as well as the fact that all three of her albums are meant to represent a different chapter in Cry Baby's life:

Cry Baby - birth

K-12 - life

PORTALS - death

Now, try to stay with me here. But imagine if Melanie solidified this even further since the beginning, and wrote the Cry Baby era songs in lowercase? I mean, think about it. Cry Baby is about the character's birth and early childhood, so it would make sense that anything she'd write would mostly be lowercase. That would mean the song list would look like this:

dollhouse

sippy cup

carousel

alphabet boy

soap

training wheels

pity party

tag, you're it

milk and cookies

pacify her

Mrs. Potato Head

Mad Hatter

play date

teddy bear

cake

gingerbread man

I left Mrs. Potato Head and Mad Hatter unchanged because by that point in the main story, Cry Baby was growing up and starting to learn how to capitalize words, by beginning with names. Of course, she would have also learned to capitalize her own name, but I digress (I suppose this could have worked better if Melanie stuck with her original plan to name the character Melatonin, with "cry baby" being her nickname).

And then with K-12, the song titles would each have capitalized letters to show that she's learning proper grammar, which fits the overall school theme. And by PORTALS, having the songs be uppercase would mainly be to end the cycle in another way, and to show that's she's grown to the max before she's reborn into a new life.

Basically, the trilogy would look like this:

cry baby

K-12 (which doesn't really help since it's one letter with a number)

PORTALS

For my fellow Melanie fans, what do you think of this idea? Would Cry Baby's story been just a little bit better with this change, or are you fine with the way it is now?

Was Portals by Melanie Martinez a Grammy Worthy Work?

Melanie Martinez began her music career with solid records considered alt-pop, following the history of her made-character called "Cry Baby", throughout those records you saw the growth of this character, going from a very strong childhood to an even worse adolescence. Melanie has never been afraid to take risks and experiment when it comes to writing music, touching on matters that are slightly discussed and to say them in a playful and even childish way.

It wasn''t until her EP "Afterschool" that we got to hear a more mature focused and much deeper than she had regarding the story.

A year ago she released her new album "Portals", which brought a totally new concept for her and for what her fans are used to. With it we have the reincarnation of her character, Cry-Baby, who after her death is reborn into another creature and returns to live new experiences in this new universe made for her (even in concerts she used a prostetic to gave birth to these character, which I personally found AMAZING, I had the oportunnity to see it in person and I was BLOWN away!!!), where she learns values of her existence and what it means to understand the human and not human emotions and feelings. Through the characteristic sounds of pop-rock, alt-pop music, and also a lot of new details made by her ingenuity of her musical production she told us a new story worth listening to.

Mentioning from criticism of society in the use of social networks, hyper-masculinization, love manipulation, toxic relationships, the sight of menstruation, to showing her being vulnerable, sexy and also in love, we can see how as we advance in this journey, through the "tunnel", we adquire new experiences that are reflected in what we live as well.

The beginning and end of the record consist in the same phrase, a infinite loop where "Death is Life, is Death, is Life", life is death, and death is life, an endless cycle from which we cannot escape, but also from which we can learn.

Personally I think that providing art in this form, making a musical project more thant that and trascending, creating a concept, making it yours and making it known is the best way to make art, the musical production of thid album is magnificent, exquisite, having transitions in all of the tracks making them one, using metaphors as simple but profound as "feeling trapped in a spider web, reffering to the use of social webs" - Spider Web.

Anyway, if you haven't been able to listen to this record I HIGHLY RECOMMEND IT, because I truly believe that it is one of the best records that have come out since the pandemic ended, and not seeing it nominated for a grammy hurted me a lot, being such a good and solid record.
