I was able to plant all five herbs inside so that we can continue to sell herbs this winter! The henbit has bloomed and opened, the yellow root started blooming, yet I am still waiting on dandelion, dandelion root and purple dead nettle to make their appearance.

nocturne (interlude) — mizu x f!reader
Tumblr media
synopsis: it seems as if you've always managed to bump into your father's regular in untimely situations. it also can't be helped that you think he's absolutely handsome.
content: reader is a daughter of a medic and an apothecary, golden retriever x black cat trope, might contain historically inaccurate terms (not that well versed in the edo period or japanese culture. forgive me), mizu will be referred with he/him pronouns, mizu being emotionally constipated ig, slight mention of violence and gore, fluff, pre-relationship, meet cute, sfw.
a/n: heyaaa :D its been awhile since ive posteddd. considering this as a break from comms and sch!! ill try to be more active in posting as my xmas break is approaching hehe <33 current hyperfixation is mizu from blue eyed samurai. (I HIGHLY SUGGEST WATCHING IT !!!) enjoyy part 2!! (my love mine all mine)
Tumblr media
You can still remember the first time you met him.
It was quite easy to recall the memory with ease. It was after all one of the nights where there weren't many customers fluttering about to avail your father's services in medicine due to idiotic accidents and miscalculated duels. You watched your father pull out herb after herb, vial after vial, stitch after stitch as more and more swordsmen of all ranks came in and out of the shop.
You were quite well-known around town as the daughter of the medic—often smiling and huffing about. Some say you were too naive to be comfortable and accommodating to your father's customers but others also claim you were elegant and a ray of sunshine due to your approachable and easygoing nature. None of that mattered anyway, not when the field of medicine was your only focus in life.
Your father doesn't like to call you his apprentice but you knew you were his. After all, with all the knowledge he's passed down unto you, you might as well run your own apothecary but alas, you still had much to learn.
It was also a quiet agreement among men that no one pays too much attention to the daughter of the skilled medic and apothecary. You suppose it's because of your father's standing and reputation that most men would rather cut off their arms than get on the bad side of one of the only medics who can actually do a decent job in life-threatening situations.
Which brings us to the current topic at hand.
It had been a cold winter that night. Your father had been busy making fresh medicine at the behest of a high lord in one of the rich provincial states up north. It was up to you to man the front and be alert in case any wanderers might walk in asking for help.
The harsh breeze of that winter night was your first cue. The doors had swung open which left you scrambling off your seat then a second later, a man with a lean stature stumbles his way through—arm clutching the side of his stomach.
Your breath hitches as he props himself against the wooden pillar. He looks up at you, blue eyes clear and intense that it left you speechless from where you stood.
"I-I," He gasps for air, eyebrows scrunching from the pain. "Help-I need—"
You wasted no time in aiding him as you took wide strides to his injured form, arms holding out to keep him steady as he began to wobble back and forth. You scream for your father, worried that the man before you would pass out at any moment.
Thankfully aware of the situation, your father prepares the receiving area. You look back at the injured patient with worry in your eyes as you further assess all sorts of damage on his figure.
However, you can't help but find yourself entranced by his clear blue eyes. Despite being on the brink of utter exhaustion, he has managed to keep himself awake perched up on your shoulder.
He locks eyes with you, blinking slowly, and just as you begin to get lost in those blue hues of his, his body begins to fall.
"Sir, wait—!"
Then he's out like a light.
Tumblr media
The next time you met him had been purely coincidental.
After that night, the man left quietly like the leaves falling gently along the stream. He left quite a hefty sum of money on your father's desk and kept the bed clean at his departure. It's safe to say that your father was overjoyed by the payment.
Your father had sent you on an errand to town to gather some supplies from a supplier he trusts. He had been busy attending to patients and manning the counter to be the one to get the package himself.
"You have nothing better to do anyway, might as well be useful to your old dad," Your father scrunched his nose playfully as he placed a bag of money on your palms. "And if a man approaches you, remember to use that knife I gave you and make clean perforation at the jugular vein—"
You had stopped your father right there.
It didn't bother you that much and this also was an opportunity to get some leisure time. You did as you were told and saved a bit of money for window shopping.
Stumbling upon an artisan selling hair ornaments, your eyes immediately dart toward a golden hairpin with imitations of sakura leaves. Upon reaching out to inspect it, a hand collides with your own causing you to let out a gasp.
"Apologies—" Your eyes dart up to look at the stranger but is met instead with familiar blue eyes, this time under the disguise of orange tint sunglasses. "Oh! It's you."
The man furrows his eyebrows in confusion. "Are you Mr. Gojo's—?"
"Daughter?" You perk up with a smile. You shift from heel to heel at the intensity of his gaze. Somehow, you're feeling quite nervous with this gentleman. "Yeah. I caught you that night."
"Ah," The man nods, awkward in his stance before turning back toward the array of ornaments in front of him. "Thank you."
"I-It was no problem," You stammered, hands smoothing out the fabric of your kimono. "It's what we do after all."
There's a hum of response coming from the man before silence ensues between the two of you. He had gotten back to analyzing other items that the vendor was offering and you could only stand there, discreetly watching his every move.
You didn't have the opportunity to take a good look at him besides his eyes that night. Your father seemed like he had recognized the man before you and ushered you out of the room before you could have the chance to offer help. Though, now, you could see that he had a proportionate height—a few inches taller than you but still tall nonetheless. His shoulders evoke confidence with every move of his body but his face talks of the mystery hidden under the guise of his kasa. He was pretty, yet... handsome. You've never come across a man who could embody both sides of the spectrum.
"Do you need something?" His voice had startled you out of your daydream causing your cheeks to flush. He raises his eyebrow with his ever-perpetual glare. You give him a sheepish smile.
"I've never gotten your name, sir." You purse your lips, tilting your head as he squints his eyes at your request.
"My name? Why?"
Your mouth opens and closes like a fish out of water at his response. Why? What does he mean why? This man was truly cynical, you think.
"Well, I saved you, didn't I?"
"Correction. Your father did." The man deadpans. You giggle at his tone, eyes crinkling in amusement.
"Alright, no need to get so philosophical with me," You jest, trying to get him to lighten up to you. You take a step closer, trying to gauge his expressions as you give him a lighthearted smile. "Is getting to know people a crime now?"
The man sighs before looking at the array of hair ornaments to your right. He then grabs the hairpin you were looking at and tosses a bag of coins toward the vendor. He places it within your palms before adjusting his cloak. You flinch at the sudden gesture, unaware of his intentions.
"It's Mizu." He says before turning and leaving without further explanation. You stand, agape as the man further blends in with crowd with each step he takes away from you.
This man—No, Mizu, surely is interesting.
Tumblr media
This next meeting was one you were thankful of.
Now, it wasn't as if your meetings were solely limited by chance. He became a regular after your father's incredible work on him. You watch him arrive usually at the end of every week, either looking to restock the medicine that your father gave him or get himself treated for an unwanted injury.
You tried interacting with him during his visits but Mizu always either cut the conversation short or grunted in annoyance. He never tried to entertain much of your whims and only left you grasping at straws for whatever possible chance of interaction he might give you.
Although, despite being cold towards you, he still has the heart to help you in mundane tasks whenever he encounters the chance. For instance, upon seeing you struggling with the basin, he immediately walked over and carried to where your father is with ease. He also grabbed your freshly bought basket of fruits and guarded you on your way back home. He even thumped the back of your head lightly with his hand on his way out while you were fixing up the front.
He was an enigma. A puzzle you desperately tried to solve but always failed.
The thought of his gentlemanly actions had always left your heart thumping faster and louder within the confines of your chest. Wanting to know him, get closer to him, see the corners of his lips upturned—anything to see a version of him only you can keep.
It also seems that your father is familiar with his master. You hear talks between them, asking about the well-being of a man named 'Master Eiji', the one whom Mizu calls his swordfather. You ought to know better than to eavesdrop but somehow your attention has always been led towards his very existence.
Your father had always been strict about you ever since you were but a wee girl. He had expressed the importance of having a fruitful marriage with someone who is of your deserving. He, after all, was in a true love marriage with your mother and was together for at least 25 years before your mother succumbed to her illness at the age of 45.
It also didn't help that you were deemed the sunlight of the town, often getting several interested looks from promising men. But all your suitors couldn't take the intensity of your father's expectations. It's safe to say that you won't be getting married for awhile.
"Just stay here, my daughter," Your father sighs as he serves you seconds of your favorite food. "Who the hell cares about marriage anyway."
You laugh, reaching out to pat your old man's hand. "It's going to look bad for you if you don't marry off your one and only daughter, y'know?"
"That's precisely why I don't want to do any of that," Your father grumbles, taking a sip of his soup. "Work here, eat, sleep, go have fun. That's what your mother would've wanted anyway."
You were grateful for your circumstances, yes, but you've always wanted to help out as much as you can for your dad. His reputation as a skilled medic can only take so much before others will come to expect more. So as long as you're in his care, you try to help out around his shop as much as you can.
Although you wonder if your father would allow him to—
Ah, forget it. Convincing your father was a lost cause.
Back to the current task at hand, your father had tasked you to gather some herbs from the forest near your humble abode as it is less taxing for your finances when you have easy access to one nearby. Gearing up for the coldness of winter, you stepped out of your house in pursuit of such herbs. With a hop on your step, you wish to finish your task sooner than later to prepare for a certain gentleman possibly visiting later at night.
The only you thing you didn't account for was the possible danger you'd be encountering.
"Listen, I-I don't want any trouble," You slowly backed away as a group of men began surrounding you. It was uncommon to encounter bandits around this area as this was situated near the town. You're not so sure as to what prompted this criminals to stage a robbery in broad daylight.
"Oh, c'mon little miss," One of the bandits chuckled. He twirled a knife in his hand as he approached you menacingly. "We just wanna know what you're up to."
Your breath speeds up as one of his companions playfully advanced with a jump in his step. You flinched back, heartbeat thumping as the crunch of leaves around you signified their slow advance towards your figure. You clutched the knife your father gave you within your hands, ready to use it in case one of them tries something.
Jugular vein. Neck. Neck. Vein. Keep it fast. Right side.
"Perhaps we could do something fun, darling? I'm sure you'd love it." Wide grins and loud laughter erupted from their lips.
Vein. Lethal point. Could head straight through the liver. Artery. Perforation.
Your head had begun to ramble, your father's words echoing within the depths of your mind. Just as you adjusted your grip on your knife and one of the bandits had began to finally get whatever they aimed for in the first place, a breeze of wind suddenly alerted you of a new presence.
You shut your eyes in fear as one of the men at the far back screamed.
"What the fuck?!" The leader bellowed as he watched his man crumple to the ground, holding what was left of his dismembered arm. The other bandits begin turning towards the new opponent, swords ready as they watched him step over their comrade.
You open your teary eyes, locking gazes with the familiar hues of blue hidden under orange tint. There's some sort of hardened glare as Mizu looked at you up and down, assessing your well-being within a matter of seconds.
"This is Takayama's jurisdiction," Mizu's deep voice bellowed as he placed his hand on the scabbard of his sword. "I suggest you leave."
The leader lets out a scoff as he widens his shoulders to appear more menacing to him. Mizu only looks at him under the guise of his kasa.
"You are outnumbered, samurai," The man smirks. It might've been intimidating with the number of men that surrounded Mizu but you were well aware of his prowess as a swordsman and completely had faith in his abilities. "Your talks of dominance do not affect me."
Mizu chuckles, one hand reaching up to push back his glasses up the bridge of his nose.
"We'll see about that."
Tumblr media
"Thank you," You smile widely, eyes crinkling as you grab his extended hand.
The bandits groaned in pain as they crumbled to the ground. Some have even passed out from the harsh hits that Mizu had inflicted. You watched him twirl and move with elegance, slicing and hitting with precise angles that left you in awe at his performance.
It took at most 15 minutes for him to finish all of them and another 3 minutes for you to pick your jaw off the floor and fix yourself up.
"It's no problem," Mizu nods at your gratitude. He holds your hand firm as you wobble back and forth to stay back in balance. "Although, I advise that you venture towards areas within the town vicinity. This area is bordering outside of Takayama, thus the bandits."
"Ah," You let out a soft laugh. "There were more herbs here. I thought it was safe."
Mizu doesn't reply back as he gazes at you from the comforts of his glasses. You flush at his stare, still not being able to handle its intensity. You look down to busy yourself with, staring at your conjoined hands before finally taking notice of a scratch on the side of his hand to his wrist.
"You're injured," You whispered as you pulled his hand close to yours. You hear Mizu's breath hitch as he stumbles slightly at the pull of your hand. You look up at him as he furrows his eyebrows.
"I-It's fine, it doesn't hurt." He tries to reason with you but your grip on his hand remains steady.
"You saved me so I'll repay you by treating this. Alright?" You give him your best smile and suddenly the samurai doesn't have the heart in him to say no. At the sound of his reluctant silence, you enthusiastically pull out your satchel filled with medicinal tools. It was handy that you always kept your tools with you no matter where you went.
You applied antiseptic, brushing it with a clean cloth along the wound. Whether Mizu felt the pain or not, he only remained as still as a rock while you worked.
"You're early today," You try to make conversation as you clean his wound up. Mizu stays silent for a few seconds before replying.
"I had free time," He says. "I... was also out of medicine so..."
You hum, nodding along his words as you make gentle strokes to ease the pain (if he ever felt it).
"If you ever need to go out like this again," He picks up the conversation making your heart skip a beat. There's a pause of silence before he continues. "Let me—If I'm there, let me know. You don't need to endanger yourself like this."
You let out a quiet laugh as you finally wrapped his wound with a white strip of cloth. You look at him with softened eyes, reveling in his slightly flushed cheeks and gaze dulled by sincerity. There's a pause of comfortable silence between the two of you, only lost in each other's gazes.
You slowly reach out, hands pausing as you communicate a request for consent. Mizu only gives you a small nod before you reach out to pull off his glasses. Those same beautiful blue orbs stare back at you as you revel in their gaze.
"You're more handsome like this," You whisper as you take a step closer to him. Snow gently falls around you, cascading in gentle flow as you breathe out puffs of air. Mizu tilts his head with an upturn of the corner of his lips.
There it is.
You flush in his gaze as he reaches up to brush a stray hair away from your face. "You're jesting," He says with a quiet tone.
Your gaze at him doesn't waver. "I'd say yes if you asked me to marry you."
Mizu let's out a chuckle, eyebrow raised at your bold response. "You are one dangerous lady, Y/N. Does your father know that?"
You roll your eyes at him. "How could he know when all he does is keep men away from me," You tilt your head playfully, "Although, I do wonder why he often keeps you close. Perhaps, he's found you to be worthy of a man."
Mizu laughs at your praises, shoulders shaking as the two of you stand close to one another, basking in the soft breeze of the winter sky. He lifts his hand up and flicks your forehead. You flinch back, holding your forehead in pain as you give him a glare.
"Ow?!" You frown as he looks at you with a smirk on his lips. "What a way to turn off a lady!"
"You're too adorable to be a lady," Mizu teases as he crosses his arms over his chest. He tilts his head as he looks at you with squinted eyes in thought. "Kind of like a.... puppy."
Your jaw drops at his comparison causing him to release a few chuckles. It wasn't fair that he was out here causing poor things to your heart and raised by a father who was direct and determined to achieve the things he wanted in life, you didn't allow yourself to back down.
With wide strides, you easily reach where he stands before standing on your toes and grabbing his face as you placed a chaste kiss on his cheek.
"Wha-?!" His face flushes a deep red as he moves back holding his cheek. You flash him a cheeky grin as he looks at you with wide eyes.
"I'll be waiting for your proposal, Mizu," You giggle, swaying back and forth with your hands tucked behind you. You put on his glasses before leaning slightly forward with eyes squinted playfully. "Or shall I be the one to propose, hm? Seeing as your blushing from just a kiss on the cheek."
Mizu takes a few seconds before collecting himself. There's an unreadable look on his face before makes careful steps towards you. You watch him, curious as he stops in front of you—hand reaching out to pull his glasses off from your face. You expect him to start berating you for invading his space but what you received after was certainly something you never took into account.
He leans down and gingerly places a kiss on your lips. Your breath hitches as he presses himself close before pulling away all to fast. Your lips tingle as you watch him put on his glasses back with a smile.
"I'm no coward, Y/N," He adjusts your cloak as you remain speechless in front of him. "I don't make promises I can't keep."
And just as he enters, he walks off with quiet footsteps, leaving you grasping at whatever was left of your brain after what he just did. Your face flushes a deep red as your fingertips touches your lips with shaky movements.
Did this man just—
"Are you coming?!" He calls over from the dirt path back to your house. You stumble in your footing as you rush over to him.
"I-I'm coming!" You stammer as you gather your things and rushed towards him. He greets you with a smile and this time with his glasses tucked away. Blue hues greet your flushed form and suddenly an overwhelming realization washes over you.
Oh, I'm definitely not going to let this man go.

Lay me gently in the cold dark earth
Tumblr media
no grave can hold my body down, i’ll crawl home to her
cannot express how absolutely insane i’ve been feeling about soft, sweet, tender, vulnerable mizu lately. like, it’s been consuming me. so here’s a little thing :)
summary: takes place in ep.5 where instead of finding her “mother”, mizu loses her way and finds you and the shrine you take care of instead. aka that flop m*k** doesn’t exist and no chance for angst!!
———
Mizu doesn’t remember passing out in the middle of the woods. Only that she’d felt like a blur of colors and heat and blood before she dropped off into a vivid dream of finding her mother again. Her dreams dwindled and led her to a semi-awake state of being nursed back to health.
You notice Mizu’s fluttering eyelashes and quickly set your hands beneath her neck, the tender curve of it. you can feel the bumps of bone there, warm skin and the dried-over blood.
Mizu gasps and coughs, you push the bowl of water against her dried lips. The fire crackles and spits out sparks.
“Thought you’d died.”
You remark, titling the bowl further when you see the muscles of Mizu’s neck work. more, more, more.
“Who. are. you.”
“The one who saved you from frostbite. Don’t get up, your stitches are still fresh.”
Mizu glances down at herself after you’ve left to tend to the fire. The plane of her stomach stretches and she hisses despite the warning.
“Told ya.”
You’re back in an instant. The same hand placement as before, steady against mizu’s neck. You ignore the glare she throws your way and instead poke gently at the stitches. Mizu tenses and curses. You marvel at the muscles pulled taut in her throat.
“D’you have a death wish?”
“Mph..! fuck, can you stop—touching it.”
You sigh, pushing away and standing. The half-dead stranger you found in a snowdrift some kilometers away from the main road wasn’t on your to-do list this week. Dealing with her was also gonna be troublesome.
“You’ve gotta stay, got it? It’d look bad if I turned you away.”
“Is this…?”
“Yama jinja. Small, I know. We get some worshippers here and there. Family-run.”
Mizu cocks a dark eyebrow.
“Plus you’d bleed out on the way back with your injuries. A bloodied path is not very auspicious, you know.”
Of course, Mizu initially tries to leave regardless of your opinions and later, demands. She’s a dam. Closed off and waiting to burst the longer she stays. It’s only with poking and prodding that the pressure starts to break.
It starts with a fever.
You tend to her as best you can, medicinal herbs and tea and salves. You’ve learned that Mizu’s annoyingly stubborn, but the fever persists.
She’s delirious half the time. In and out of dreams and nightmares, rarely awake to notice the crease forming between your eyebrows. It’s violent, the way her body fights to survive.
It’s only after she recovers that you realize she’s an animal: a fawn entrapped in the yawning mouth of a wolf. a raw, bloody thing that’s barely escaped death. That something’s been chasing her.
Mizu doesn’t leave after that. You don’t ask her to.
Mizu remembers little of her fever, but when she lays down on the tuft of hay near your bed every night, she dreams. It’s smeared, the version of you she’s conjured. Barely distinguishable, but Mizu swallows around it. The wide open of her belly, full and warm and vulnerable. She allows it.
Days turn into weeks and then months. The cold fist of winter opens up around spring and then summer floods in.
“You’re going to the river later right?”
“Mn. Need anything?”
“Just some…well, I’ll do it myself.” You say, the same time Mizu says, “Okay, I can do it.”
You look at one another, smiling softly. The cicadas scream outside and the sun is melting into the earth like the yolk of an egg. You nod and she quirks a grin.
“Be careful” You tell her. Her kasa shields her face, but the sharp of her chin moves and you know. Know what she’s doing with her mouth: the lick of her tongue, the bite of her lip. You know.
Mizu doesn’t take long. She’s returned by the time you’ve started dinner, and Mizu thinks of herself months ago. Bleeding out, covered in a pack of snow, barely noticeable, barely alive. She should have died. Didn’t know how she didn’t.
She casts a glance to you, unashamed, staring. The skin of your neck covering the bumps of spine. Right where you’d held her not so long ago.
The thaw of the earth has given way to soft dirt. When you realize this, you get your farming equipment out.
Mizu joins, delighted to be under the skim of sunlight and carrying the bags of rice grains. You don’t comment on the smatter of freckles that have bloomed on the bridge of her nose. You only stare and hope she doesn’t sense it, the way you feel about it all: Her and her voice and her hands and her body and, you both.
It’s with both your arms dug into the dark of the earth that Mizu quiets and stills. The wind settles and the cicadas shudder and stop their song. You hesitate to speak and when you do, she starts:
“You’ve never asked me. Not once.”
You think you know what she’ll say, and you start and she starts and you stop, and she continues.
“The wrong I did. It’s..it’s bad. Worst than you can imagine—than you should imagine. It’s, it’s dishonorable and disgusting and—and.” She’s looking at you then, eyes unfocused and red-rimmed. There’s a freckle on the curve of her forehead. You want to touch it, kiss it, soothe her. You wait. “The gods wouldn’t forgive it. You wouldn’t..wouldn’t forgive me.”
Your palms are damp and you breathe once, twice, stand and settle them back into the wetness of the earth. Right atop Mizu’s shaking hands.
“If the gods don’t forgive you, you’d still have me, and I, you.” You hope it’s enough, the touch, and the words and the way your body wraps itself around her. The plane of Mizu’s back shudders, stops, starts again and you lay your fingers into her. The same place you’d had them the first time. The bone, and the skin, and the person she is.
You think: the chase is over. The blood has been shed. The mouth has fed, belly full.
Mizu kisses you later that night.
Deeply and softly in the low light of the dying fire. It simmers into you, pooling low between your legs. Mizu pulls away, nose crushed up against yours, happy and proud and so beautiful.
“Couldn’t help myself. Was hoping you’d—“ a laugh. “Hoping I’d what” You say, hands rubbing up and down Mizu’s arm. Her shoulder, the elbow, back up again. “You’d kill me. Get mad. Throw me off you.” Another kiss, heady and slow. “Not strong enough for that.” “Oh yeah?” “Yeah.”
The monsoons start the night she kisses you. It beats down onto the pebbles surrounding the garden and the wood of the roof and the cicadas are white noise. The thunder and lightning fight to be louder than your moans.
Mizu doesn’t stop laughing, doesn’t stop smiling and kissing you, doesn’t stop. Not until she’s pushed up against you body. Both your legs, chest, and forehead touching. Curled into the soft of her.
“I tried, you know” You say.
“Hm?”
“Tried stopping it. This. Couldn’t.” You felt puffy and raw. Couldn’t say it clearly.
Mizu observed you, amused. Her hair down and her freckles dark, and her mouth red.
“Me too. Don’t worry, me too.”
And the summer felt like years. And mizu thought, as she held you: The ground had thawed. It’s thawed.
It’s thawed.

run rabbit run (1)
pairing: yandere!childe x reader
warnings: unhealthy behavior/relationship, violence, nsfw
inspired by: episode 8 of the hbo series “the last of us”
summary: you are out of food as well as medical supplies, so in order to save your father, you take matters into your own hands. you unexpectedly run into a young master in the forest, who is after the same rabbit as you. since he is persistent on getting the rabbit, you make a bargain with him. he develops a liking to you and decides you are his new personal little rabbit.
Tumblr media
you breathed in the cold air of snezhnaya, the land of eternal winter ruled by the tsaritsa.
snow crunched under your boots as you roamed around the forest, looking for something to hunt.
you had nothing but a thin coat on, a pair of worn out winter boots, and a rifle slung over your shoulder like a bag. you were freezing, but you were more concerned for your father’s life than your comfort in the weather.
you see, your father had gotten injured on his way home. he fell off his horse and fell on something sharp, which caused him to have a huge gash across his stomach. you found him unconscious nearby and dragged him inside your home. you laid him on the couch by the fireplace, wrapped a piece of cloth around the area of the gash to stop the bleeding and put a blanket on top of him.
the cupboards were completely empty. no food or medical supplies in sight. his horse had ran off and you had no other transportation. there was no way you were able to walk all the way to the marketplace in the current weather, so you had no choice but to hunt for some food and find some herbs since you had no medicine as well.
“come on, come on.” you gritted your teeth in frustration, clasping your hands together and warming them up with your hot breath. “are there no animals around here?”
right on cue, a rabbit hopped out of a bush. the rabbit was beautiful. its fur was as white as the snow and its eyes were as red as gemstones.
too bad you had to kill it.
you slowly approached it, grabbing your rifle and pointing at it. as you were about to pull the trigger, you accidentally stepped on a twig. the rabbit jolted in alert at the sound and frantically hopped away.
“shit.” you cursed and ran after it.
you tried to shoot it while running after it, but an arrow came out of nowhere and pierced through its tiny body, making you stop in your tracks.
what the hell.
“excellent marksmanship, master.” you heard a gruffy voice.
“that was too easy.” followed by a cocky voice.
the man with the gruffy voice and the man with the cocky voice surrounded the rabbit. they looked like they came from a powerful house, especially the one with the ginger hair. compared to your winter outfit, they had thicker and expensive-looking coats, so no doubt they came from a powerful house.
the rich. you hated the rich.
“hey!” you shouted as you aimed your rifle at the both of them. “drop your weapons or anything you have on you, now!”
they turned their heads to find a young lady with a big, heavy rifle, cautiously approaching them.
they looked at each other in confusion.
“move a muscle and i’ll put a bullet right between your eyes.”
“excuse me, what are you doing out here? this is our territory.” the butler coughed.
“this is an open space. a forest, for christ’s sake. this isn’t your territory and neither is it mine.” you spoke strongly. “but that is my rabbit.”
the young master, instead of scoffing in disbelief at your behavior towards him, smiled. his life was boring despite being loaded, but today might be different. you had peaked his interest. he felt a sense of excitement and arousal.
“oh, is that so? is that your arrow then?” he pointed at the arrow— his arrow— which was poking out of the rabbit’s corpse.
“i told you not to move a muscle!” you aimed your rifle directly at him.
he put his hands up in surrender position, a smile still plastered on his face.
“or i swear i’ll–“
“put a bullet right between my eyes. i know.”
“if you dare do that, you will be severely punished.” the butler butted in, but shut his mouth when you glared at him and told him to “shut the fuck up.”
the young master laughed.
“you, why do you even need this? can’t you afford to eat something?” you asked.
“i don’t plan on eating this, i’m not fond of rabbit stew. my mother though, she loves lapin coats or rabbit fur coats in other words, which originated in fontaine. says it’s really soft and warm. you bear hatred towards people like me and i don’t blame you, but would you at least give this one to lil ole me? for my mother?”
“i don’t give a damn–“ wait, you could make a bargain with him. you would rather die than associate yourself with the rich, but your father’s life was on the line here, so it was either your dignity or him, and you chose him. “let’s say i accept, what would you give me in return?”
“well, what do you want?” he asked.
“medical supplies.” you answered quickly.
“that’s it?”
“and food supplies; meat, veggies, just anything nutritious.”
“alright then, my home is not too far from here…”
“no, one of you is staying here with me and one of you is going to get me what i want.”
“sheesh, alright. can’t even be hospitable with you.” he turned to his butler. “bring back a first aid kit, two bottles of penicillin, a syringe and food you can grab your hands on.”
his butler nodded, but was hesitating to leave.
“it’s not code. just do as i say.” he leaned into his ear. “why are you hesitating? do you really think a mere girl could stand a chance against me?”
“very well, master.” he sighed. he grabbed the dead rabbit and made his way back to their residence, leaving you and the young master (whose name you had yet to know) alone.
“you can lower the gun now. i don’t mean any harm.” he noticed your tense form and tried to reassure you, but you were too hardheaded.
“where’s your bow?”
“don’t know.” he shrugged.
what did he mean by that? was he messing with you? your gaze shifted onto his waistline and you saw a vision attached to his belt. a hydro vision, to be exact.
realization hit you. fuck, he was a vision user. you were lucky he didn’t have anger issues. otherwise, you would have been dead before you could even treat your father.
“where are you looking, hm?” he asked teasingly.
“nowhere.” you looked away.
he chuckled. he found you peculiar, but intriguing. you were like no other woman he had ever encountered in his life. you didn’t know who he was and how much power he held. he could snap your rifle like a twig if he wanted to. no normal civilian in their right minds would ever think to threaten him or even approach him.
“so, what’s your name?”
“nunya.”
“what–“
“nunya business.”
“pfft. come on, i’ll tell you mine. my name is childe or tartaglia, whichever you prefer.”
“uh huh, what about i call you dickface? that suits you better.” you remarked. “master dickface.”
again, he wasn’t the least bit offended. he was amused. strangely amused.
what kind of man did you run into?

Lavender
Lavandula officinalis
Known as: Elf leaf, nard, nardus & spike
Related plants: A member of the mint family Lamiaceae, there are genus of 47 known species of lavender. It includes well known plants such basil, mint, rosemary, sage, savory, marjoram, oregano, hyssop, thyme, lavender, and perilla, as well as catnip, salvia, bee balm, wild dagga & oriental motherwort.
Parts used: Flowers
Habitat and cultivation: This flowering plant is native to the the Mediterranean
Plant type: Perennial
Region: Most are hardy from Zones 5 to 9 | Spanish Lavender (L. stoechas) is only hardy in Zones 7 to 9.
Harvest: You can harvest all the budding spikes or flowers on your plant during the growing season but avoid cutting into woody growth. Don't want to take more than 1/3 of the plant at this time & limiting your harvest to flowers and buds should keep you within recommended limits. As first frost approaches, snip off woody, leafy stems & branching. You can safely take up to 2/3 of the plant at this time. Harvesting too early can stimulate more growth which you don't want since the lavender is moving into winter dormancy.
Growing tips: To grow lavender successfully it needs well-drained soil, full sun & may be a good idea to check the PH beforehand because soil too acidic may kill off your plants. It survives well in dry conditions, so you'll only have to water when the top 2 inches of soil are dry. Plant lavender in spring, once all chances of frost have passed. This beautiful, fragrant herb is a great addition to raised beds, in-ground gardens, and growing in containers spacing plants 12 to 18 inches apart.
Medicinal information: Taking lavender products by mouth, including teas and a specific oil supplement or inhaling lavender oil as aromatherapy, seem to reduce symptoms of depression & anxiety. Lavender oil is believed to have antiseptic and anti-inflammatory properties, which can help to heal & burns & bug bites. Some studies suggest that consuming lavender as a tea can help digestive issues such as vomiting, nausea, intestinal gas, upset stomach, & abdominal swelling. A study published in the Journal of Medical Microbiology found that lavender oil could be effective in combating antifungal-resistant infections. Using it as aromatherapy can also reduce colic symptoms & menstrual cramp pain.
Cautions: Lavender essential oil is possibly safe when inhaled as aromatherapy, but applying products that contain lavender oil to the skin is possibly unsafe for young cis males who haven't reached puberty. The oil seems to have hormone-like effects that could disrupt normal hormones & in some cases, this has resulted in breast growth.
Lavender might cause sleepiness and slowed breathing. Taking lavender with sedative medications might cause breathing problems and/or too much sleepiness.
Lavender might slow down the central nervous system. If used with anesthesia and other medications given during and after surgery, it might slow down the central nervous system too much. Stop using lavender at least 2 weeks before a scheduled surgery.

Witchcraft 101: Wicca & The Wheel of The Year
Paganism - An umbrella term for many nature-based and polytheistic spiritual traditions. Note that not all pagans practice witchcraft. Wicca - A pagan, nature-based religious movement. Wicca blends aspects of witchcraft, nature veneration, and ceremonial magic. It places a strong emphasis on honoring nature and follows a duotheistic belief system often known as the Triple Goddess and Horned God. Wheel of The Year The wheel reflects the cyclical nature of life, death, and rebirth in the natural world and is central to the rituals, spells, and celebrations of many pagan and witchcraft traditions. The Wheel of the Year is divided into eight significant points, which correspond to the Sabbats or festivals:
Samhain (October 31st): Also known as All Hollow's Eve, marks the beginning of the Wheel of the Year and is associated with the end of the harvest season and the onset of winter. Samhain is a time for honoring ancestors, reflecting on mortality, and recognizing the thinning of the veil between the physical and spirit worlds. Samhain is a time to acknowledge the cyclical nature of life and death and to connect with the spiritual realm. Yule (Winter Solstice, typically around December 21st): Marks the rebirth of the sun, with a focus on light, hope, and renewal during the darkest time of the year. Yule customs include lighting candles or a Yule log, feasting, gift-giving, and spending time with loved ones. It's a significant part of the Wheel of the Year, emphasizing the cyclical nature of life and the changing seasons. Imbolc (February 1st): Marks the early signs of spring and the gradual return of light and warmth. Imbolc is associated with the Celtic goddess Brigid and is a time for purification, cleaning, and preparing for the coming season's growth. It's often celebrated with rituals, candle lighting, and dedication to Brigid. Imbolc highlights the theme of renewal and the awakening of life after the winter months. Ostara (Spring Equinox, typically around March 21st): Marks the arrival of spring, where day and night are in balance. Ostara is a time for celebrating fertility, new beginnings, and the growth of life. It is often associated with themes of rebirth, renewal, and the awakening of nature. Common customs include egg decorating, planting seeds, and celebrating the return of warmth and longer days. Beltane (May 1st): Celebration of fertility, love, and the union of the goddess and god. Beltane is often observed with rituals, bonfires, Maypole dancing, and other festivities that emphasize the vitality and growth of life in the natural world. Midsummer (Summer Solstice, typically around June 21st): Also known as Litha, marks the longest day of the year when the sun is at its peak. Midsummer is a time for harnessing the sun's energy, celebrating the abundance of nature, and enjoying outdoor festivities. Common customs include lighting bonfires, dancing, and gathering herbs and flowers for magical and medicinal purposes. Lughnasadh (August 1st): Also known as Lammas, marks the first harvest of the year and is associated with the Celtic god Lugh. Lughnasadh is a festival dedicated to expressing gratitude for the Earth's bountiful harvest and agricultural abundance. Traditional practices during this time involve crafting corn dollies, enjoying meals made from freshly harvested crops, and engaging in various games and competitions. Mabon (Autumn Equinox, typically around September 21st): Marks the second harvest and a time of balance when day and night are equal. Mabon is a festival for reflecting on gratitude, giving thanks for the fruits of the Earth, and preparing for the darker months ahead. Common customs include feasting on seasonal foods, making offerings to the land, and creating altars with symbols of the season.

Winter is coming
Those were the words of house Stark, and those words, especially this time, held a true meaning, winter was coming, the days started to grow shorter, and colder, the snow had started to stick.
The maesters had said this winter was going to be really cold, but short.
The castle was always with a lot of movement, Sara had told you that it was because they were preparing for the upcoming freezing cold.
Gathering wood, straws for the ceilings of the houses, food for the animals, food for your food, wool for coats, rabbit skins to cover the insides of the armor for the soldiers… they were all preparing for winter, and for you, it was… exciting…
It shouldn’t be, you knew, but to think that this huge winter storm was coming in and you had to stay inside, to stay warm, with your husband… and your new family, it was almost exciting, even though you knew the people of town didn’t think so.
But that’s what the preparations were for, so everybody could have a safe winter
Winter’s Town was also preparing for the arrival of the people of the country, who preferred to stay in the small city rather than face the winter alone.
Cregan was out hunting almost everyday, to gather meat that they were going to storage, after processing it with salt so it won't rot
Sara had mentioned that in normal circumstances he would leave for weeks, but this time he had rather stayed close, and she said it was because of you.
And that also made you feel excited
You wanted to prove to him that you wanted him, that you were prepared for all the duties that being a wife entailed, So you made sure to raise up very early in the morning, get dressed in your northern dress, and make yourself useful in anything you could. And Cregan wasn’t the only one noticing your efforts
People of the castle and of the town were too.
You have proven to be very well versed in numbers, and rather good at talking to people, as your teachings with your father had taught you, so you soon found yourself receiving carriages from Winter’s Town and also White Harbor, and making an inventory with the help of Sara of everything that was coming in, so you knew for certain the things you could count on when Winter finally came.
It was entertaining and very useful, as the maester also stood by your side and helped you.
Also you had proven yourself invaluable to him, because you knew the maester in King’s Landing, and you had opened a connection between them both with letters and ravens, to make sure the tower of the maester of Winterfell could get everything and anything it needed, regarding herbs for medicine and knowledge too.
For the first time in your life, you felt like you were meaningful, that what you did, truly mattered, and it made you truly happy.
The people even started to take a liking to Vhaelar, that you commanded to lit big pire of fire once in a while to keep the town and its surroundings free of ice and snow, and she was a kind creature of a nice temper, and never had hurt anyone
Sara and you spend the afternoon making warm dresses for the coming winter, with soft fur on their insides, it felt so good to the touch.to made them using your riding gear, pants on the bottom part.
Your mind was occupied, you ended up so tired at the end of the day, where you sleep in your rooms, alone.
But Cregan! You thought you were making progress with him, as every night you would have dinner together, alone, Sara would make up some excuse and would leave you to it, he was usually quite silent, but you would ask things to him and he would entertain you with long stories that you adored.
You looked in the mirror to fix your hair nervously, this time, it was lunch and Cregan had requested you two have it in your chambers. Soon lunch was going to be served and you and Cregan would have some alone time
Soon there was a knock on the door, and you indicated, rather quickly, that whomever was on the other side could come in, there he was, ever so punctual, ever so Cregan
“Good day”, you greeted, your excitement obvious though your smile and blush
“Good day”, he answered back, he took a moment to observe you, dressed in a simple gray dress and your hair arranged in a simple way with two braids keeping the rest of your wild silver mane out of your face
“How was your day?”, you asked, as he sat down in the small table right in front of you
“Tiresome”, he admitted, sharing a small smile, “but we accomplished many things today”
“the preparations for the winter are truly something”, you said, with a shy smile
“Yes, indeed”, he said, his eyes looking at you, your face illuminated by the small flames of the candle decorating the table, “and you're great in it”
“You are so kind”, you offered
“It’s true, you had not lived a real harsh winter and yet… you understand the importance, the need of the people, thanks to you, we are making great advances”, you looked down at your plate and blushed
“I just do what I can, I’m glad I can be of service”, you admitted
“You are, I want you to know”, he muttered. His gaze was always on you, you’ve noticed, like he was analyzing you, like he was testing
And unbeknown to you, he sort of was
He looked at you, all blushed and nervous around him, to him you were so sweet, he was actually astonished by the things you had accomplished, of how easily you had adapted, of the good you were doing to the castle by doing the things you had done.
For a second, he thanked the maester that spoke on your behalf, you truly were your father’s daughter. Good spoken, smart, intelligent. You were… admirable, incredible… he didn’t even have the words to describe you, and now… you were his wife.
His wife
He was supposed to bed you, to take you, to give you his children… Right now it seemed you were two different women… the Lady of Winterfell on one side, serious, calculating, kind and smart, and now… his wife, shy, nervous, a young girl right in front of him, nervous of speaking to him… it was like two different persons all together
He had to find the balance.
Now you… were exquisite, beautiful, fucking naive to your own power, your feminine power… and he was thankful for it… he has to contain himself not to jump over you every night… no, he couldn’t, you were so sweet, so kind… he was afraid that if he truly just…. fucked you, all of it was going to go away… and he couldn’t have that, not now. You were so happy
(Oh if he only knew you could be even happier if he fucked you)
Oh how different you were to every woman he had once met… nothing like them… you were so different.
Every time he came to his chambers at night, he found you there, and he remembered you were already his wife, this marvelous, beautiful being, what was he supposed to do? he thought he didn’t deserve you
He didn’t know where you came from
But you were here, like an apparition, like this person send of the Old Gods
But he had been down this road before, he had been married twice already, he had opened his heart, he let himself love his beautiful brides and then… they died in his arms, both of them, one taking his child with her.
Many say the third time's the charm but what if it isn’t and the price is you?
But he also may think that keeping you close, content and happy was better than keeping you at arm’s length. If he had you close he could protect you, keep you warm in winter, make sure you ate, make sure you stayed healthy, and strong… take care of you.
Hence, he looked down at the small package he had brought you, you noticed it too…
He bought a furry white thing
“I had this made for you, wife”, he muttered, grabbing the furry thing he had brought with him, and when he unfolded it, it revealed a beautiful white cape, white as snow, and the fur it was white as well, “it’s rabbit skin, white rabbits that I hunted for you”
Your mouth even opened in surprise, it was so beautiful, the cape was like his, but white
“Cregan… it’s…”, you were speechless, he had made this for you, for your comfort. You stood up quickly, to receive it in your arms, “it’s beautiful!”, he saw your every reaction, so when you looked up at him you found him smiling down at you. “Thank you”, you said softly
“It’s my pleasure”, he said, and he found himself wanting to see that look on your face everyday, for it was beautiful, “I can’t have the Lady of Winterfell freezing now can I?” He asked, and you shook your head still smiling, caressing the soft fur
“Help me?”, you asked, your eyes shining with a certain mischievousness, and a smirk on your lips. He smiled at you, as he took the cape from your hands and placed it over your shoulders, he secured the straps around your torso, and then, without breaking eye contact, he accommodated it over your shoulders, leaving his hands there as he looked at you.
“Beautiful”, he said, but he was not looking at the cape, he was looking right at you, at your eyes.
There was a connection, a moment, his right hand traveled from your shoulder to your neck, and then it landed gently on your cheek, your eyes connected, he leaned in, and you drew a sharp breath.
You leaned in, he leaned down, and you closed your eyes, waiting for his lips to collide into yours…
And then…
A horn sounded outside, loud, and from experience, it meant only one thing
“Dragon!”, they shouted and the spell was broken, Cregan separated himself from you
“Are you expecting anyone?”, he asked, his hand still on your cheek, you only shook your head, he released you then. You felt cold without his touch, and he proceeded to leave the room, and you followed closely behind him.
You were soon out of the castle and into the courtyard.
The gates opened and all the air left your lungs as soon as you saw who it was.
He walked in like he owned the bloody place, his steps long and his single eye defiant, it gave you a good flashback of when you crossed him in the hallways of the keep, and he would look at you with contempt and then he would push you against the wall.
His eyes looked around in poor-hidden disgust, and then his eye found you, and he almost seemed surprised
You were wearing a handmade northerner dress, you hair arranged like a northerner lady and wearing a winter cape, that was probably why he seemed so surprised
“Aemond?”, you called, as you froze when he came near you,  “what are you doing here?”
“I’m here to bring you home of course”, he said simply, looking at you all calm and composed
“Welcome to Winterfell prince Aemond”, greeted Cregan by your side, “you surprised us”, it was a nice way to say “you weren’t invited”
Aemond barely looked at him, then he looked back at you
“I think is improper, you, living here alone, with no one of your house nor chaperones or servants”, he muttered
“Is not improper, she is my wife”, said Cregan, and Aemond, for a second he seemed like he was going to burn the whole castle down, but he composed himself
“Wife?”, he asked, almost amused
“Cregan and I married under the Heart tree, and the old gods”, you said shakily, unconsciously taking a step towards Cregan until your arms touched, he obviously noticed it, and looked at you surprised.
Your entire body language had changed in the presence of this man, he thought, looking at him with mistrustful eyes
“Funny, I don’t seemed to hace received a raven informing me of this union”, you knew him, he was trying so hard to act composed
“Why would we notify you?”, you asked, not even on a confrontational stance, but a curious one
He hummed
“You are a princess of the crown”, he said, “your union has to be sanctioned by the King and the council”
“It was their idea”, you said, Cregan took a step in diagonal, standing almost in front of you, to shield you from him
“I received an offer from King Viserys, in it, it offered the hand of his darling niece, and I accepted said offer, I exchanged letters with the council”, he said firmly, “Princess Rhaenys was a witness to the union”, Cregan said, looking at him, “I’m very sorry but I don’t see why this is of interest of you… my prince”, he said
“Mmm”, Aemond hummed, looking at him almost amused, “I’m sorry but, I’d like to stay, until we can clear this out with the council, you see, I was not notified of this, and the princess was supposed to be my betrothed”. Cregan turned back to look at you, surprise in his eyes, “furthermore I believe is proper to have a member of her family present, to ensure the princess’ comfort, don’t you agree Lord Stark?”
“I understand your disappointment, you are welcome to stay here as you see fit”, he said, and you almost whimpered
“I need to speak to you”, he whispered to, and you only nodded
This can’t be happening
Cregan needed to speak to you, but Aemond demanded your attention first, and since he was your family, you felt the responsibility to find out his true reason for being here.
You had escaped him, you knew they were going to marry you to him so you begged a man to bed you first. And apparently, based on his actions and reactions, he wanted you, he wanted to marry you, own you, possess you…
And Cregan Stark now stood on his way
You needed to speak to him to make it clear to him that he had lost, that he must let it go, that it was too late for him, and that you, ultimately, had won.
So you walked with him towards an empty guest room in the castle.
“Alright”, Aemond muttered as son as he was alone with you, “you had proven yourself, let’s end this mummer’s farce”, two servants, Winterfell servants, entered to the empty room and brought a big wooden trunk with them
“You can’t just order people around”, you chided, “thank you”, you said as the gentle servants walked by you
“Of course I can”, he said, he opened the trunk with one hand, inside, it revealed a dozen dresses, all golden, red, emerald green, in exquisite detail and fabrics, worthy of Queen Alicent, and you, a princess
“What is this?”, you asked, suddenly lightheaded
“What you deserve”, he said solemn, “let’s get you out of those rags and into what a princess like you should wear”, from under he dresses he took a large wooden box, which he opened and offered to you, inside it, there was beautiful necklaces, with rubies, emeralds, sapphires… Exquisite jewelry made for en empress
“You burn all my things and now you dare to tell me what to wear?”, you said, indignant, taking a grasp back into reality, “I made this clothes, and I’m not a princess anymore, I am a Lady”, he tried, again to remain solemn and he made a fist out of his lean hand, leaving the box on top of the dresses
“I heard about that unfortunate incident, so I brought you these to compensate you”, he said, “you don’t know what you are saying, let’s go home”
“This is my home”, you assured him, “what the old gods witnessed and joined can’t be undone by men”
“You being married under those savages rituals means as much to me as you being married to an animal, it has no meaning”
You looked at the dresses as they were a foreign thing, you would have happily worn them two years ago, they were so beautiful, exquisite even, but now? They seemed uncomfortable, not you, you would have frozen to death while wearing those. Your life in the Keep seemed to have been a century ago And the jewelry, it was fine in King’s Landing, but here? you wouldn’t even dream of it, they seemed so uncomfortable…
“I do not care what you think”, you said finally, “Cregan Stark is my husband, I am the Lady of Winterfell now”, he chuckled, darkly, looking away from you
“Are you now?”, he asked, “I bet he haden’t even fuck you yet”, your cheeks reddened as you looked away
“We made love every night”, you whispered defensively, he took two long steps towards you, to reach you
“I can smell the virgin off of you”, he whispered right in front of you, you shook your head, averting his gaze, taking a step back
“I’m married now Aemond”
“You had not consummate the marriage, and marriages performed under the Old Gods can easily be annulled by a high septon, now, let’s go home, now”, it was a command, he was commanding you
“This is my home now”, you said, scared of him, “I’m not going anywhere, specially with you”
“Mmm”, he leaned in, again eliminating the distance between you, he grabbed your arm roughly, “you are mine”, he said, “I’ve told you so”
“I’m not”, you stammered, trying to release yourself from his grasp, but couldn’t, “I’m nobody’s”
“I should have think you’d say you are Cregan’s”, he said, amused
“Leave me alone”, he grabbed you roughly and brought you to him, and then the door opened, Cregan walked in and even though you repulsed his touch, the scene must have looked like…
“Prince Aemond”, he called, you looked at him and Aemond released you at once, acting like in truth he walked in on something improper, “your room is ready”, he said solemnly and with a seriousness that made you shake
“I look forward to spending some time with you here in the North”, he said, even more amused, “to see the… picturesque… of your traditions”, it sounded more like an insult.
His blood boiled when he saw you like that, so close to him,
“I hope it’s not a lengthy visit”, Cregan said, “Winter is coming”
“Ah yes, the words of your house”
“Winter is coming, frosty winds, ice and snow”, he said, “the maesters from Oldtown will be sending the white raven out soon”, he warned
“Hmm, we are dragons we do not fear cold”, he said looking at you, and you did everything you could to demonstrate how uncomfortable you were
“The journey was long from King’s Landing is long”, Cregan said, “I bet your grace is hungry”
“I’m famished”, he said, his eye still on you, you looked at Cregan that couldn’t stray his gaze from Aemond, and he looked so angry. You had never seen him like this…
Cregan had arranged for the three of you to have lunch in the great hall, and fortunately for you, Sara also showed up, she paled when she saw the prince seated by your side
“Your grace, this is Sara Snow, my sister”
“Snow is it?”, he asked, his gaze again, landing on you, “a bastard”, he whispered, his tone mocking…
“Yes my lord”, said Sara, looking down at the floor
“My dear sister”, corrected Cregan, “it’s all that matters”
“Mmmm”, Aemond tends to do that, humm as he was thinking something over. “Interesting”
“Let’s have lunch”, said Cregan, again, his temper sour.
He was angry now, he wanted to speak to you, and you couldn’t help but feel guilty. As you looked at Aemond… you felt scared because you didn’t know what could possibly come out of this…
The only thing you knew for certain was that this was your home now, and you were not going to leave it.

January week 4
Deeper into the Elements
Monday - Fire
Study prompt/ New Page - look into aspects of fire. What is fire? What does the archetype of fire mean to you and in your practice? How do you utilize this element? How do you utilize its energy? What are some associations, plants, gems, metals etc.
Practical/ Hands on - connect with fire. Light a candle or sit by a fire (safely!) and stare into it. Feel its heat. Connect yourself to the element. What does it feel like? What do you feel like? What does it mean? Journal about the experience.
Study prompt - pick another of those herbs from your list and study it! Everything from practical uses, mundane uses, cooking uses, medicinal uses. How do those things play into its magical associations? How do you grow or propagate it? As much info as possible.
Tuesday - Earth
Study prompt/ new page - look into aspects of the element of earth. What does earth mean to you and in your practice? What associations does it have? What does the archetype of earth feel like and mean to you? How do you utilize and use energy from this element or this element itself in your practice?
Practical/ hands on- connect to earth. Sit in the grass or on the bare ground (if you can, it is winter where I’m at after all) and connect to the earth. How does it feel? How do you feel? Journal about the experience.
Study prompt - pick a gemstone off your list and study it! From its properties to how it is formed and where it is from!
Wednesday - Water
Study/ new page - look into the element of water. Like the above, look into as many aspects of water as possible. What does the archetype of water mean to you? How do you utilize its energy? What are some associations of water? How does this element fit into your practice?
Practical - connect to water. Take a bath or shower, drink a healthy amount of water, go swimming, sit in a hot tub. How do you connect yourself to water? How do you feel and how does it feel? Journal the experience.
Thursday - Air
Study/ new page - look into the element of air. What does the archetype of air mean to you? How do you utilize air in your practice? What are some associations of air? Think about the four winds, what are those archetypes and where do they stem from?
Practical - connect with air. Sit in front of a fan or outside in the breeze. Breathe deep. Connect yourself to air and feel it, think about it, what does it mean to you? Journal the experience.
Practical - write a spell or ritual! Any kind is fine, but if keeping with the above prompts, one pertaining to one or all of the elements! A ritual to connect to and call on them all or a spell that utilizes one specifically. A water cleansing or a fire banishment or releasing spell. Whatever works! Put it in your lab notebook to use and rework later if necessary.
Friday - Secondary
Study - secondary elements what are they? Think of abstract concepts. Light, shadow, time, order, chaos. Do those things have elemental value? I know @stormwaterwitch has a series on some of these concepts.
Journal/ introspective - your connection to the elements. Now that you’ve connected to all of them, really look inward and see how these elements affect and influence you. How do they relate to your life and how do you relate to them?
Again, if you’re not into herbs and gems, feel free to study literally any topic on the days that those prompts pop up!
Thank you all again and happy crafting!

tsukasa x f!reader. reader is a medical specialist and has two friends - the farmer and the navigator. wc 2.9k
Tumblr media
Tsukasa is looking in your direction again.
You never have to look up to see it, feeling his rich brown eyes searing into you even from a distance is enough to know, but this time you do. Flicking your gaze upward to meet his, you see the faintest hint of a smile on his face and he looks away, embarrassed. If you were closer you’re certain that his tan skin would be dusted with the faintest hue of pink across his cheekbones and the bridge of his nose - it has been all of the other times you’ve caught him so you can fill in the blanks on your own now.
“You could just speak to him, you know?”
Whatever reverie you were enjoying is quickly interrupted by your friend, the farmer, bringing a bundle of fresh medicinal herbs to your desk, plopping the twine tied bundle down on your work table. She folds her arms and leans over the table, bending at the waist, and you scoff.
“I don’t want to hear it from you.”
She shrugs and brushes the dirt she just flung across your table off with the side of her hand, letting it settle on the ground below both of your feet. It has been around a month since everyone arrived at the settlement and while you don’t ever dare assume things are going to be great, even before petrification your worried and logical nature served as a compass to keep you from doing so, they have gone better than expected. Everyone seems to get along well, the Ishigami VIllage settlers are eager to help and to find their place, and winter preparations are underway without issue.
You do have one issue, though, and he just so happens to be staring at you again even with the shield of your friend’s body between the two of you. Glancing over her shoulder, you don’t bother to meet his eyes and instead keep an eye on his form, thick forearms carrying unfathomably large stacks of lumber from one end of the camp to the other to build new pens for the horses. Tsukasa spends most of his time with them and he took the responsibility of creating new shelter for them on his own - the lack of manpower and muscle in the camp prevented this project from being completed until now.
He brought all the muscle and manpower you could ever ask for and it frustrates you to your very bones.
“I’ll bet he’s lonely over there by the stables all on his own.” Your friend teases and you shoot her a glance, pretending to inspect the yarrow and wild ginger she brought you to make medication with. “You should go and check in on him. I’m sure he’d appreciate it.”
Picking up the bundle, you wave it in her direction and point it toward the door.
“I’m just saying!” A poor attempt to defend herself but she tries nevertheless, shifting where she stands so that she’s no longer bent at the waist and instead pressing her hip against the edge of the table with her arms still folded. “Fresh bread is about to come out of the oven if whatever the hell Ryusui has been yelling about all day is true so you better grab some and take it to him before there’s none left.”
Fresh bread has become less of a luxury now that the Ishigami settlers and their chef have come along but it goes as quickly as it can be made. Considering for a minute that he may miss out if he’s too busy, you sigh and stretch your arms over your head while rising from the wooden stool you were sitting on. The shit eating grin of your friend makes you roll your eyes and you playfully bump shoulders with her when you pass by, headed toward the galley.
Perhaps you like Tsukasa more than you originally assumed you would. He’s handsome, of course, but anyone with eyes can see that and you assumed at first that he was no more than met your eye. Until you met his sister, his gentle doting over her coming off as nothing less than altruistic and loving. Until he started looking at you with affection you’d only dreamed of from across the camp, something so gentle in his eyes you believed you imagined it but it kept happening.
This is not a time to think about feelings, you remind yourself. The world is developing and whether you and your fellow settlers wanted it or not, you are its architects with science and medicine and lust for a life similar to how it once was.
A crowd has already formed around the galley and you groan, considering walking away empty handed rather than dealing with the thick of people. You know everyone, it’s the nature of things given there are less than 75 people in the settlement total, but it feels humiliating to be waiting here for bread that isn’t even for you. It’s for a man you find yourself endlessly intrigued by, someone you desperately want to get to know.
“Hey!”
You are caught before your thoughts can spiral too far and the local navigator and mapmaker waves at you, her hair a fresh pink from the dye Senku developed at her request, and she holds out a couple of medium sized rolls wrapped in a cloth to you. Steam wafts off of them and even your mouth waters a bit in anticipation of biting into it.
“You two set me up,” you shoot toward the woman who shrugs. They did indeed set you up, planning to create a situation where you’d have no choice but to go to the object of your affections, but it’s hard to be mad when it’s well meaning.
“Tell your little friend I said to mind her business.”
The navigator snorts and waves you off toward the stables in the distance with a fond smile.
“Love you too!”
You don’t respond with anything but a barely audible grunt but you don’t have to, knowing that the bond between you, the navigator, and the farmer is as unbreakable as anything has ever been. The three of you have built this small community from the ground up with the assistance from everyone here. There have been arguments, of course, but ultimately the purpose has remained the same for everyone and that is making sure that every person has a great quality of life in tumultuous times.
Walking across the slowly yellowing grass on your way to the stables, you look around in awe at how autumn has arrived practically right before your eyes. The leaves blaze in shades of red and orange, the sun hangs low in the sky and warms away whatever chilly breeze may otherwise make you uncomfortable, and before you know it your legs have carried you down a path you’re familiar with and you find yourself faced with the man you try so hard to avoid.
He’s inescapable, you’ve now realized, and the thought makes you want to bolt but you hold your head up and smile at him.
“Hi there,” he offers kindly. That faint dusting of pink colors his cheeks and you find it hard to look away, wishing your traitorous fingertips didn’t want to reach out and feel the warmth beneath them. He looks to you like someone who runs warm blooded, a passionate man with a fire inside of him that burns inside out.
“Hi.” You finally respond in like, holding up the cloth wrapped bread slightly awkwardly. “Fresh out of the oven, I wanted to make sure you got some.”
You’ve never really done anything like this before and courting has become even more necessary and uncomfortable in a world where marriages and love can easily be bargaining tools to make a more comfortable life for everyone. You know all too well about Senku’s advantageous marriage and divorce, something the farmer has lamented on more than one occasion given her budding affection for the scientist, but you do not want him to see you as an advantage or a stepping stone because that is not how you see him.
You see him for the man he is. Warmth that runs deep enough you swear you can see a little fire in his irises isn’t something that should only be chosen for advantage, it should be stoked and adored.
“Thank you, I appreciate it.”
His words are a little awkward as well. All of this, love and affection, are just as new to him as they are to you and he hopes that you don’t think he is rude or cold or mean or anything he has been accused of being in the past based off of the assessments of those who don’t know him.
“It’s the least I can do considering you’re making sure our horses have a warm winter, too.”
You smile and he feels his face burn rather than just heat, the pink deepening into something closer to red. Any praise he receives from you sticks in his mind for days afterward and it makes him embrace the moments, considering you wouldn’t even say his name for the first several weeks they were here. It didn’t stop his feelings from developing further and further every day, though, and now they weigh heavily on his mind when he sees you.
Could you ever love him? Would you ever want to? It keeps him up at night if he lets it.
“I’m glad to be able to do it. They deserve somewhere nice and warm, too.” You lift the bread in his direction and present him with one of the still steaming rolls and his eyes widen, a genuine smile breaking across his features. “Speaking of warm…it’s still hot and everything.”
Giggling at his amazement, you nod. There’s something so indescribably boyish about him beneath the masculinity of his exterior and you see it most when he smiles. You haven’t learned much about the man from his own mouth, instead from his sister Mirai and Gen who is always eager to talk about anyone, but you know that he hasn’t always had much to smile about. His life has been marked by a lot of worry and strife and even the mentalist himself remarked that he seemed lighter since arriving in America a few days back, the fresh air and chance to continue to help reinvigorating him.
“I didn’t want you to miss out.”
For a moment, you consider if you should walk away. Maybe he wants to be left alone so he can go right back to work, the sun setting earlier every day leading into the cold season leaves little time to get work done during daylight hours but he nods toward a makeshift bench that is just a plank propped up on two stumps.
“Do you have time to stay for a while?”
Again, the terrible urge to bolt comes over you. Looking around camp you judge how much of a scene it would make to flee, rushing toward the medical barn with your head down. It would almost certainly cause more of a scene than just sitting beside him considering nobody is looking in the direction of the two of you, granting you more privacy than you expected.
“Sure,” you answer, smiling hopefully and keeping your head slightly downturned to conceal it at least a little. You don’t get your hopes up, after all. “I have to make medicine but that can wait until later.”
Tsukasa hums, clearly interested in what you have to say about these medications, and leads you toward the bench. The clearing is dappled with sunlight coming through the grove of trees above you and it feels like something out of a movie you watched once, something involving a lonely man searching for something to anchor him to the world besides persistent pain. He found love in a clearing just like this, sunshine warming his face and presenting him with the fact that life might not be as bad as it has always seemed.
“Oh yeah? What are you making this time?”
He sits and you follow suit, sliding beside him but keeping a respectable distance. You unwrap your bread and cross your knees, leaning forward slightly. His eyes are on you again but you choose to occupy yourself with the warm food in your hands instead, tearing off a small piece to cool down.
“Well, I was given some yarrow which is good for inflammation and some ginger which is good for stomach aches and now I have to figure out how to process them both and still make them as effective as possible which is a challenge sometimes.”
Tsukasa has never considered himself stupid but he knows he can’t keep up with this line of conversation due to lack of experience so he nods, tearing off a piece of bread himself and shoving it into his mouth. While chewing he internally reviews each of his motions - do you think he’s rude? Impolite? Brutish? Is he eating too loudly? Is he too much?
All he worries about is how you view him and yet it remains a mystery. He wants to believe the returned glances are your way of repeating his affection back to him but cautiousness keeps him from mindlessly dreaming. What if he’s misreading?
You glance at Tsukasa out of the corner of your eye and realize that you may not be the only overthinker sitting on this bench, his eyes clouding slightly while he gets lost in his own mind. It’s hard to say what he’s thinking about without being there but you clear your throat after chewing your first bite and he turns his attention back to you as quickly as he can.
“I’m sure Senku can find a way to help if I need it, though. He’s good about that.”
Nodding, he agrees with your assessment of his good friend. Senku is a good man and a gifted leader despite his sometimes lax attitude and there have been many situations he has already helped resolve around the camp since arriving. A less evolved and kind part of him is frustrated that he does not have the same skills to best help you but he will always offer what he does have which is time and a tender heart full of longing.
“I could help if you need it,” he offers and you smile, giggling to yourself. You don’t bother to hide this one and he revels in the sight of your pretty lips and teeth, something just for him. You are beautiful and often smile but never this effortlessly. “I’m serious. I have hands and can tear some flowers off of their stems.”
Looking down at his hands while you chew another bite of your bread, you raise your brows and swallow. Without thinking, you let your thoughts take on a mind of their own and your voice follows suit.
“I’m sure you could tear a lot more than flowers from stems with those hands.”
He can’t be certain but he believes you may very well be flirting with him. Raising his brows in return, he chuckles. The surprise in his laughter cannot be hidden and immediately you wish you would have bolted back to the barn and given everyone a story to tell at dinner tonight.
“Maybe a long time ago but now I only want to use them for healing or…” he trails off a moment and you look up at him through your lashes, your own face warm with embarrassment from your slip of the tongue. “Loving, maybe.”
The way the word comes off of his tongue tells you that there’s nothing short of a lover beneath the exterior. Loving, you think. Maybe he could love me.
Chewing another bite, you let the weight of both of your words settle. Perhaps your friends were right to set you up on a perfect autumn day, the breeze rusting his dark hair around his shoulders and making him resemble the man who fell in love in a light dappled clearing even more. Your heart pounds in your chest and you try to play it off, shrugging flippantly.
“We’ll just have to see, won’t we?”
Your question isn’t a question as much as it is a statement but it’s exactly what Tsukasa needed to hear and he nods in agreement. This is the smallest shred of hope you like him that he’s dared to tuck into his mind yet but he does it. This hope will carry him through the chilly evening while he’s in his bed, wondering if you could ever love him or not.
She will. He thinks to himself in the daylight, bold enough to think about you while you’re sitting next to him. I’ll make sure I’m worthy of it.
