Bedsheets wrinkled, rustling under their body. A pillow was kicked off unceremoniously, flung onto the cold, tiled floor. Eyes of Ebony flung open, blinking rapidly at the celling. Chest heaving heavily, rising and falling. Trying to catch their breath.

In five minutes, their alarm will ring. In ten, the doorbell will ring, and he would be there. He was always there, without fail. In the fifty times Cerulean regressed, Cater Diamond was always there at their door.

Waiting. In a way, it was touching. For all the timelines Cerulean restarted, it’s nice to know that at least one thing would never change.

Cater was always by their side.

Eyelids flickering shut, Cerulean took in a breath. A deep one, filling every crevice of their lungs. A steel determination throbbed through their chest, beating with every heartbeat.

“I’ll save you this time, Diamond.”

They spoke to the air, letting their words bounce around the room. For fifty regressions, those letters were nothing more but empty air, hopeless wishes that vanished the moment he reached out.

Reached out to them.

This time.

This time for sure.

Cerulean can’t afford to believe otherwise.

The key was under the mat. Tucked into a loose floorboard that Ceru never bothered to fix. Yanking the key out was the least of Cater’s worries. With a simple pull, the chime of metal was music to his ears.

It’s nice to see that some things never change.

No matter how many times he does this, it’s still the same old Ceru that opens the door. The same old Ceru who greets him with a scowl, but has breakfast in hand. A sandwich, for him.

The same Ceru who vanished right in front of his eyes, engulfed by the shadows. He remembers reaching out, begging for them to turn around, to please just take his hand-

For a split second, Cater’s voice seemed to reach them. For a second, they glanced back. Now that he thinks about it, he was probably the last thing they saw.

Before they were struck down.

Cater’s lips curl upwards, a firm line. That was a mistake. A mistake in the future, that tore him apart.

Not now. Never again.

He’ll die as many times as it’ll take, to create a world where Cerulean could smile.

“I’m gonna be late for wooorrrkkkk.” You singsong to yourself as you take off your helmet to stop yourself sweating in the blazing heat. As time goes by the line seems to not move whatsoever so you take out your phone and start scrolling. As you’re idly scrolling down Facebook you hear a sound like a gunshot and instantly duck out of instinct. You look up and around for what made the noise and you see a man running away, blood flowing from his arm. He jumps on the back of a bike which is accompanied by another man, probably a get-away plan, and it speeds off. Another man, a handsome one, runs out wearing an FBI vest runs out. He already looks slightly tired and the bike is too far for him to run. Kicking the bike into gear you speed through the stopped cars, praying a door won't randomly open on you, towards the agent, and skid to a stop.

“Hop on.” You say smiling at him. He looks shocked at first but then agrees. As he gets on the bike you give him your helmet as you only carry one. He looks guilty for taking it at first but then agrees seeing how far away the man is. As the bike lurches forward, the agent nearly falls off, and, making a grab for your waist. Now here you where on your bike in the blazing heat pressed against a cute F.B.I agent.

“I’m sorry!” He yells through the helmet and over the sound of cars going past us at 60 mph. You shake your head, laughing not only at his awkwardness but also politeness to actually apologise. Not that you minded that much. As you weave through the different cars, the force of the wind starts to get a bit annoying you. You couldn't of predicted that you've would've magicially needed two helmets today but long hair and wind doesn't mix.

When they get to end of the traffic jam, the unsubs bike makes a break for the empty motorway as you turn your handles, instantly to follow. As you speed through the normal traffic street you notice a black van catching up by the side of you. The window rolls down and you see more FBI agents talking on the phone and one looking at the agent behind you.

“Spencer what the hell are you doing?” The blonde agent yells almost scared. Spencer, cute name. Spencer then takes his helmet off to talk to the agent easier.

“JJ! I almost got him, he’s bleeding.” He yells to the agent then turns to you to whisper in your ear. “Can this thing go any faster?” His whispering makes you shiver, which causes him to squeeze your waist slightly as you yell in reply.

“Hold on agent.” You say kicking up the gear and speeding off leaving the black rover behind you while all the agents look shocked at how much control you have of the bike at your speed.

“Actually, it’s Doctor.” Spencer whispers once again making you shiver as you bite your lip with anticipation and concentration. You reach 80 and continue to climb as you start to increasingly gain on the man and you see that now you’re on the motorway there’s almost no cars. You notice a gap and you quickly skid to the side of the motorway, confusing Spencer.

“Get off, quick.” You say grabbing your helmet. Spencer looks at you with wide eyes.

“What wh-.”

“Trust me, Doctor.” You say kicking the stand-off after he’s gotten off, to speed away and catching up to the man. You go faster than when Spencer was on your back. Speeding at 110 through the motorway you start to slow to 80 when in vicinity of the man. You hear someone yelling and you can tell it’s Spencer, probably in the black rover.

“Be careful!” He yells so you can just hear him. As you’re still chasing the man you hear crackling in your ear piece.

“Hello, my beautiful mystery girl I’m Penelope Garcia!” She yells happily as you can hear her tapping on a computer. Tech analyst.

“Well Miss Penelope. I’m Y/N L/N. Can you tell me when’s the closest, no traffic at all, spot?” You say normally knowing she can hear you fine when you’ve got the helmet on.

“Y/N L/N? The retired CIA black ops agent?” You can hear the confusion in her voice as she both gets up your profile and the route you’re heading.

“I am black ops. Any idea?” You say meaning about the opening in the traffic that she was just mentioning.

“3 minutes away with your speed, why?” She asks confused and almost scared.

“I’m black ops. Thanks for your help Penny. You’re like my lucky penny for this.” You say almost worried at doing this at this speed. It’s easy at 50-60 mph but 80 is a different story.

“Well you’re welcome Wonder Woman.” She says trying to sound happy but being terrified. She hangs up and you see the gap in the traffic you see she was mentioning. As you just reach the opening you place yourself directly behind the man before revving your engine making it reach 90+ and you jump off to the side skidding and sliding along the road. You stand up, even though your arm and leg has been scraped along the floor you stand up and start to run, you see your bike collide with the guys and they’re both knocked off and the bikes collide blowing up at the wall of the motorway. You grab one of the guys, the bleeding one, the other one trying to run before being held at gun point as the black rover pulls up. 5 agents pour out of the car all with guns drawn at the guys. You take this as a cue to be able to sit down.

“FBI!” The blonde woman from earlier yelled. Spencer sees you and runs up to you trying to see what’s wrong. He takes your jacket off and sees bad road rash on your arm.

“So… Ex-Black Ops aye?” Spencer says trying to make a joke.

“So… Doctor FBI aye?” You say laughing copying him. “Y/N L/N, nice to meet you.” You see smiling at him.

“Doctor Spencer Reid.” He says holding your jacket and standing up. “C’mon Wonder Woman let’s get you to a hospital.” He says smirking.

“I’ve had worse.” You laugh through gritted teeth. The adrenaline has worn off and it now stings, badly.

“So, have I.” Spencer laughs opening the car door. Okay, his laugh is cute as hell.

Dude I feel so awful for Homura. From Scene 0 it looks like so far (I’m still on day 4) even if Homura gets allies she cannot save Madoka, from Magia Record even a whole slew of Magicial Girls trying to fight their fate Madoka’s fate still could not be prevented.

I cannot believe how well Kyubey groomed all the girls and how Mabuyu was able to somewhat realize she was going to be groomed.

I wonder how well represented the way Kyubey’s grooming is, I think its pretty realistic. Of the constant manipulation and switching tactice when the girls dont respond well at first. Of targeting girls who are at their weakest, leaving alone the girls who wont respond, making the girls feel so lonely that they of their own volition find other girls to join them unknowingly continuing the cycle of abuse.

And I never thought about how easy of a target Madoka herself is! Shes the prime target! Kyubey only goes to Sayaka after Madoka’s introduces Sayaka to him, Sayaka did have the foresight to not trust Kyubey which Madoka who was underconfident and believed she was absolutely useless did not. Madoka’s total lack of faith in herself made her a really good target for Kyubey’s grooming and its AWFUL. Its not Madoka’s fault that her STILL developing confidence was taken advantage off like this. And I can imagine the frusteration Homura felt trying her best to undo that grooming and all of it falling in deaf ears, trying to get someone who is being groomed to recognize they are is an extremely difficult task even for full grown adults with experience!

It just breaks my heart that there was no winning for anyone.

And oh my god the horror of realizing Mami was also helping Kyubey groom girls into being magical girls. Mami had no idea thats what was done to her and actually continuing the cycle by pulling other girls to join her.

The contrast of how Kyoko kind of broke away a bit of that same grooming by refusing to recruit other girls unless they were fully informed and chose that decision(which i know isnt a real educated decision but the best decision a teen can make at that time). It kind of shows also how there are diff ways of breaking away from it too no matter how small. Kyoko cannot stop fighting or being a magicial girl as her life depends on it but she IS preventing other girls from following her path by very simply not involving them.

But man, Homura’s helplessness hits so hard. I feel like Scene0 really expanded on that and showed how severly Homura’s mind had broken because it HAS.

At the start, my character is the somewhat quiet one. She thankfully relied on her stomach and a ridiculous amount of horror movie knowledge. In the end, she outlived everyone, even the killer. therapy time bb. The fits are before that night, and trying to cope with it now.

congrats, you're the one who makes it to the end. your instincts, paranoia, and/or pure fucking stubbornness guide you every bloody step of the way. when the dawn finally breaks, you're the last one left standing. sure, it cost you friends and loved ones and you're going to have one hell of a therapy bill, but at least you're alive.

che tipo. è il primo che ho fatto e risale al 2018 ormai. gira intorno a Lucifer, pop star e erede al trono sia del Paradiso che dell'Inferno in quanto figlio del Re dell'Inferno e della Regina del Paradiso (sì). la quest principale è incentrata su Lucifer e quattro suoi amici (Arael, Leo, Kaito e Elliott) che partono per un viaggio per fermare una minaccia livello apocalisse. funzionerebbe molto bene come videogioco jrpg ngl.

poi dovremmo anche parlare che Lucifer ha obbligato gli altri quattro a formare una boyband ma non c'è tempo.

soooo i keep seeing stuff about miraculous ladybug and keep seeing it in my yt recommended either video essays about how bad/flawed it is or funny out of context clips...also used to follow someone who simped for the evil dilf villain. So i decided to watch the first episode and here are my thoughts so far

the animation is kinda weird in a good way. Like it looks both bad and good. It feels pretty anime inspired but still looks like a modern western 3d cartoon. Probably would've personally liked it better if it were an anime...i actually used to think it was an anime bc i saw screenshots of an animation in an anime style. The animation does feel a little dated but i think the first season is from 2015 so idk if that will change...it is a tv show so i guess it's to be expected that its not super high quality.

the evil guy is voiced by the same guy who did zhongli in genshin impact (and mondo oowada in danganronpa!)...now i can't stop thinking of gabriel as an evil zhongli lol

speaking of him...does he have mind control/manipulation/corruption/turning ppl evil powers? 😳that's kinda hot. I just really like villains who can do that. Also i love butterfly motifs in character designs. I know he's probably an irredeemable asshole who's hated by the fandom but i'm probably gonna like him.

Adrien is cute especially as chat noir...cute silly little catboy :3.

But how does no one recognize them in their super forms btw? I guess a case can be made for adrien bc theres probably like a million blonde teenage boys in paris, even if he appears to be popular and somewhat famous? But Marinette? How many blue haired teenage girls are there in paris with that hairstyle? And she even talks to the little girl she was babysitting and her friend...how did they not recognize it was her in that costume?

The transformations are cute...reminds me of when i'd used to watch winx club as a kid...I'm glad the whole "magicial girl" genre isn't exactly exclusive to anime even if it's less common in western cartoons. This + winx club are the only things i can think of off the top of my head that do the magical girl transformation thing (not as a joke/parody like i've seen some cartoons do).

Probably would have loved this show if it came out years earlier instead of when i was a teenager and stopped watching tv.

But yeah i think its a cute goofy show that i would like a lot more if i was watching this when i was like 13 and not 23 lol. I still kinda like it tho and am probably gonna try and continue watching it as long as it interests me :3.

Thoughts on a bunch of movies I saw recently

I haven’t posted much about what I’ve been watching, so here are some reviews.

Valley of the Dolls

This movie was sold to me as a campy mess and to be honest, that description is not inaccurate... but is it weird that the film actually moved me at points? Am I insane? Maybe.

The plot follows three young women in show business: good girl Anne (Barbara Parkins), who goes from secretary to model; the tragic Jennifer (Sharon Tate), a kind-hearted but talentless chorus girl who views her body as her sole value; and of course Neely (Patti Duke), the ruthless singing superstar with a passion for “dolls”-- that is, barbiturates. The stuff of soap opera ensues: love triangles, husbands with rare, incurable diseases, backstage backstabbing, affairs, etc.

The style is strange: director Mark Robson shoots this sleazy story as though it were a 1950s prestige picture, which somehow makes the material seem even more tawdry than it already is. The dialogue has some real corkers-- my favorite is, “SPARKLE NEELY SPARKLE,” belted out by Patti Duke in her ever-controversial hamfest of a performance. Or the wig in the toilet scene which is... well, I don’t want to spoil that insanity for you.

But in-between the cheese and the sleaze, there are weirdly affecting moments. Two stood out for me: one is when Anne returns home after a long period, reuniting with her down-to-earth family, and the other involves Jennifer’s awful fate. It’s so weird that this disaster actually has emotional scenes that work... but that’s what makes Valley of the Dolls so interesting.

The Fabelmans

I regret not seeing this movie in the theaters, because WOW. It’s so fantastic-- the acting, the direction, everything.

If you’re unaware, this is basically a thinly veiled autobiography of Steven Spielberg’s childhood and teenage years, when he developed a passion for filmmaking and dealt with his parents’ strained relationship. It’s a slow movie, more character-driven than anything, but it was so well-handled. The characters were three-dimensional and the emotional situations felt authentic.

A lot of people describe The Fabelmans as being about the power of movies, and while that’s true, I was more moved by the film’s depiction of that point in your life when you realize your parents are not all-knowing demigods but human beings with dreams independent of their parental roles and failings that don’t make them evil but simply all too vulnerable and human.

Also the scene where David Lynch shows up as John Ford is freaking hilarious. And the advice he gives about composition is actually very good advice.

Magic

I first heard about this movie from a YouTube video and from the moment I realized it was going to be a creepy puppet movie with Anthony Hopkins, I was sold. Hopkins plays Corky, a struggling magician who makes it big when he incorporates a foul-mouthed dummy into his act. The act gets attention from a television network, but the requirement that Corky submit to a medical exam, he balks and runs off to his remote hometown. It turns out Corky suffers from mental illness, relying on his dummy Fats as a kind of alternate personality, and he’s afraid of being exposed.

Back home in the Catskill Mountains, Corky reunites with his high-school sweetheart (Ann Margret), an unhappily married woman looking for sympathy. The two start an affair, which upsets Fats. And when Corky’s agent (Burgess Meredith) tracks him down, well... things get homicidal.

This is a great slowburn horror story, less about gore and jump scares, and more about psychology. Hopkins is sympathetic and scary in the lead-- actually, I think he’s more frightening in this than he was in Silence of the Lambs, probably because he’s so much more unstable. You never know when he’s going to snap, especially since the fear of being found out by the other characters terrifies him so. As Fats, he’s hilarious yet amoral and coldblooded. I don’t like dummies on a good day and Fats only intensified that aversion.

Richard Attenborough directed the film and this is probably the first time I’ve been impressed with him in that role. I tend to find his style meh, but here, he has great command of pacing and suspense, as well as blending comedy with scares.

Also, I found out while reading about the film that there was originally talk of Gene Wilder playing Corky-- and that would have been so fascinating to see. Unfortunately, it didn’t happen, and while I think Hopkins is phenomenal, I would love to travel to that alternate universe where Wilder got the part.

Georgy Girl

I’ve been going through a lot of British New Wave films lately and Georgy Girl is from late in the cycle, reflecting more of the Swinging Sixties and less of the Angry Young Man trope that had dominated the earlier part of the movement. It has a cult following, but I’m afraid the film didn’t win me over at all, though it’s too interesting for me to dismiss it.

Technqiue-wise, the film is very New Wave, using a quirky, playful style to tell what is at heart a pretty downbeat story. It’s about a young music teacher named Georgy (Lynn Redgrave), an awkward, virginal, sensitive young woman self-conscious about her weight and crushing on her beautiful, promiscuous roommate’s “sexy” (I cannot put enough quotation marks around that word) boyfriend (Charlotte Rampling and Alan Bates play the ever irritating couple). When her roommate becomes pregnant, decides not to terminate the pregnancy, and marries the boyfriend, Georgina becomes excited, hoping to help her friend care for the baby. Instead, she starts an affair with the husband, essentially becomes the baby’s sole caregiver because no one else wants to bother, and finds out the unhappy, self-absorbed couple are going to put the kid she’s grown to love up for adoption.

Oh, and a rich older man (James Mason) who’s known Georgy since she was a kid wants her to be his mistress. That subplot is every bit as awkward and ew as it sounds.

All of these points come together at the end, and I admit the ending is so cynical and weird (and very reminiscent of the following year’s The Graduate) that I had to respect it, even though the journey was not enjoyable for me in the least. I just did not like or care about a single one of these characters, nor did I find their sour misadventures terribly funny. I’m not going to fault the actors-- it’s just the writing I did not care for and well, when that happens what can you do?

And now the damn title theme song is stuck in my head again...
