DOOR IN THE HEDGE ━ once upon a time ✧

Princess Edeline of Gardenia was used to chaos. She thrived off the unknown and found solace in its fractured embrace. Edeline, now Davina, was unaware of her fate to dance once more as she practiced her steps daily in her dance studio. Jefferson could only look on desperation, knowing too much and yet not knowing enough to find a way to break the curse. Fairytales never end with 'Happily Ever After' ...

Tea Party - Mad Hatter x OC - Gotham

Summary: Could she be the one to finally pass his tests? Had he finally found a replacement for his dear sister Alice?

Pairing: Mad Hatter x OC

Chapter Two

She woke groggily, her head and limbs ached. She opened her eyes, but the room was dark, her movement was restricted. Was she tied to a chair?

It looked like an abandoned warehouse, there were broken down machines just decorating the place but in the centre of the room was a table, laid in doilies, plates, cups and saucers. Was someone having a dinner party? Was she supposed to be the entertainment?

She felt panic rising, but she was smarter than that. She had to keep calm so she could get herself out of this.

The sound of the door opening caught her attention, a man wearing a top hat and an eccentric outfit walked in, followed by two over sized men. He clocked her immediately.

‘Ah! She’s awake!’ He approached her, a man grin on his face as he bent down to her level. ‘Did you have sweet dreams, my dear Alice?’

Alice? She kept silent, looking between him and the men behind him. That’s when she noticed their outfits. Tweedle Dum and Tweedle Dee. The man in front of her, the Mad Hatter. That’s when she took in her own outfit, she supposed she was Alice, and this was a Tea Party.

‘You’re the Mad Hatter?’ She could hear the nervousness in her voice as she spoke, she silently cursed herself for it.

He stood, his full height towering over her as he extended his arms out in a manic laugh. ‘Oh yes! Welcome to my Wonderland, Alice. Tell me, would you like some tea?’ He came close to her face once again, manically smiling at her.

The men stood to attention behind him, if she went along with this, perhaps she could escape. She looked back at the made table and smiled slightly, nodding nervously in response.

‘Then let the party begin!’

Chapter One

She was perfect. He had tried many replacements for his dear sister. Jim Gordon had taken her from him, he was responsible for his sister’s death. Alice had loved him, just as he had loved her, he knew it. It was everyone else that was wrong.

This replacement was the one. He was sure of it – she was the same age, build, even the same dress size. Alice’s dress fit beautifully upon her, the blue fabric and ruffles making her look like a storybook character.

Now he just had to wait. Once she would wake, the games would begin. Would she pass his test or fail like the others?
