🫀 hello! i am looking to write some prose-y highly literate dead dove-y content. if you want to write some pretty words about some fucked up characters, i am your gal.
i am 26, she/her and on gmt-3 timezone! my happy spot is writing somewhere between 400-700+ words and i’m happy to go even longer, but i don’t love to do shorter. no one-liners, i like to have a good chunk of introspection going at all times, so i’d consider myself adv. lit. and i hope to find partners who are the same! activity wise, i really don’t mind taking a couple days or even a couple weeks between replies, very chill with long hiatuses too, as long as we keep ooc communication open. otherwise i’ll assume you’ve ghosted me, which is fine too, but i won’t be chasing. i have a lot of free time at the moment, but i’m usually a full time uni student and i can’t always do rapid fire. besides, i like my replies hefty and long, so it’s quality over speed.
this is a request for 23+ writers preferably, and the muses will be 25+. bonus points for anyone who’s also a pinterest and playlist fiend. i really love using fcs, and i usually prefer actors, but i can be persuaded to accept descriptions only.
for my character, he’s a guy with some razor sharp edges. a functional alcoholic in most verses, roughed up, very much traumatized by life. originally lawful man who’s been corrupted. lost his unrequited love years ago to a murder and hasn’t recovered since, holds everyone an arms’ length away. big guy, manly man, “boys don’t cry” type of toxic masculinity. i’m looking for mxm or mxnb at this time. he is very much a top, but i am not looking to pair him with babyfied subby bottoms. if anything, he could use a more powerful/dominant partner he can worship and meet halfway, and i think it’d be a fun subversion of tropes with the plots i have in mind anyway.
so for the plots i want, i have a few dynamics in mind (bolded are the roles my character fits into): cop x prostitute, cop x stripper, bodyguard x famous person. verrrry into making these into low or high fantasy, or period pieces. also totally open to change cop for a vague “military man” title, and depending on the age, he might be retired. and if you have other scenarios you could see fitting and would like to play out, i’m all ears!
this will be written on a private discord server. i have writing samples ready to share and i hope you can do the same, so we can see if we match! i can share my character’s pinterest board and tell you more about him, and i hope you have a character in mind when we chat. i’ll always match energy and i’m really hoping for someone i can vibe with ooc. give this post a like and i’ll find you!
Leave a like, and anon will get back to you!

2022 Favourites
In no particular order. This is content I've read and watched in 2022, not necessarily content released in 2022.
Books
1. A Taste of Gold and Iron by Alexandra Rowland: m/m heroic fantasy + non-binary characters. This was one of my most expected novels of the year and I was fully satisfied with the result. One of the protagonists suffers from severe anxiety.
2. [French] L’Héritage des Rois-Passeurs by Manon Fargetton: portal fantasy with a lesbian protagonist. The French language in the secondary world is different, but I don't know if the author invented the variations or based them on something real.
3. Sword Dance by AJ Demas: m/nb historical fantasy. This trilogy takes place in a fictional world based on Ancient Greece. It's a delightful mix of intrigue and domesticity shenanigans.
4. The Hollow Star Saga by Ashley Shuttleworth: f/f and m/m urban fantasy (YA). This series about the fae also includes a touch of Greek mythology. I care a lot about all the characters.
5. Youngblood by Sasha Laurens: f/f urban fantasy (YA). This is my favourite queer vampire novel. It's an excellent mix of vampire lore, romance and mystery.
6. The Magic Between by Stephanie Hoyt: m/m magical realism. The characters have superpowers, but it's not superhero fiction. It's a fun bi4bi romance.
7. One Verse Multi by Sander Santiago: m/m/m science fiction with a trans male protagonist. This is my favourite read of the year. I loved the science in this story and how the author played with the Mandela effect (false memories shared by many people).
8. Safe and Sound by EM Lindsey: m/m romance. This is a very moving hurt & comfort novel. This author always does a great job with the intersectionality of queerness and disability, deafness and vertigo in this case.
9. If You Still Recognise Me by Cynthia So: f/f romance. This novel is about identity (queer, but also British and Cantonese) and fandom.
10. [Spanish] Anne sin Filtros by Iria Parente and Selene Pascual: f/f/m romance with a trans male protagonist (YA). This novel is also about queerness and fandom. I've read several books by these authors and this is my fave.
 TV shows
1. Ancient Detective: murder mystery/wuxia with BL vibes + a non-binary character in the last few episodes. While this c-drama is mostly m/f, I appreciated the queer touches, as well as the complex plot.
2. Legend of Yunze: GL wuxia. This c-drama is a quick watch, with episodes that are only a few minutes long. What's nice is that the f/f is not very censored for a Chinese show.
3. The Lost Tomb/DMBJ franchise: adventure/fantasy with BL vibes. This c-drama franchise kept me busy for a good part of the year and I estimate that I've seen about half of it. It covers a genre that is relatively rare in Western shows.
4. Bulgasal: urban fantasy with a queer-coded villain. Sure, queer-coded villains aren't the best form of representation, but the one in this k-drama is very well-written. The reincarnation plot is fascinating as well.
5. Vampire Academy: urban fantasy with some f/f and some m/m (YA). I loved the movie way back and I'm glad that they've added queer representation to the show, even though it would have been even better if they had made the Lissa/Rose subtext canon.
6. Wednesday: murder mystery/urban fantasy with a probably a-spec protagonist (YA). This is a delightful adaptation of the Addams Family, true to the old movies.
7. Love in the Air: BL romance. This addictive Thai drama is my favourite show of the year. Payu/Rain are my fave couple, they're so playful and loving. For Prapai/Sky, there's a lot of hurt & comfort, which gave me so many feels.
8. Semantic Error: BL romance. This k-drama's protagonist is on the autism spectrum. It's enemies-to-lovers, or rather annoyances-to-lovers.
9. She Makes My Heart Flutter: GL romance. This k-drama is a quick watch. I love that it mostly focuses on sapphic friendships.
10. Heartstopper: m/m romance with some f/f and a trans girl (YA). I love the webcomic and the adaptation is really well done. It's such a sweet story.

Hey! There's a few more days to get in on my little Booksprout review campaign for Love, Lies, and Cryptids.
This link should work through the 13th. 😊😊😊
--
One minute, Nico Juárez is enjoying the stability of their job as senior editor at Unified Theory Press, a publishing house specializing in books about the paranormal. The next minute, they're stuck with a terrible new boss and a clueless (yet uncomfortably cute) new assistant. Jasper Milton just wanted healthcare and to keep his sexy side-hustle a secret. Now he's faced with an adorable, yet prickly, supervisor and a company thrown into chaos. Nico and Jasper must team up to stay sane. Hopefully, they won't fall in love—or be squashed by Bigfoot—in the process.

You're the Most | Chapter 3: Do What Daddy Says
Andie finds Evan more interesting than they expected.
Start with the free first chapter on Ream or Patreon.
Evan leaned his head on his hand thoughtfully, like he was admiring a fussy kitten. Irritation sparked in their chest at the thought that he might be looking down on them, but it was snuffed out by the velocity of their heartbeat. "What? What's that look for?" "I'm just seeing why you and Nico are such good friends. You're equally pedantic," he said. Andie suppressed a growl. As a rule, the only people who read them like that were women over age fifty. "I ought to throw this drink in your face for that. You're lucky the mouth of this can is too narrow."  "Precisely what a pedantic person would say." He shook his head, voice breathy and judgmental. "Wow. Didn't realize you were such a salty bitch."  His snooty expression broke, and his shoulders quaked with laughter. They were broad shoulders, and Andie could see their muscle definition through his shirt (which was a truly heinous shade of magenta). His hair was thick, the color of straw that you might scatter across a garden bed to protect seedlings. Except, instead of coarse, it was gathered in fluffy curls that looked so soft, Andie had to fight the urge to touch. They shoved their libido away like it was a yappy terrier they were hiding in their shoulder bag on the bus.

Saturday Releases: All-New Stories by Nicola Kapron and Annabeth Lynch!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
This week, we’re welcoming in spring with two very nature-oriented tales: one of the forest, grown wild and out of control, and one of the creatures that play amidst the fireflies during a hot summer night.
Dead Man’s Bells by Nicola Kapron
Dark Fantasy, M/NB, Demonic Possession (Voluntary)
The vines were alive. They writhed like snakes as he ran a hand over them. As one, they untangled themselves from the shrouded shape of the spear. A few even dropped off entirely and nudged at his ankles. Underneath, the weapon gleamed with the soft, wet shimmer of fresh growth.
Around it, he could make out the silhouette of something that was almost human. Luminous green eyes. Roots wrapped tightly into the shape of arms, legs, musculature. Foxglove flowers blooming in the hollow of a throat.
A forest demon persisting long after it had been cut down and sanded into a useful shape.
Beautiful, Liam thought. This feeling might be awe. If he didn’t need to keep moving forward, toward it, he would have fallen to his knees.
For a moment, the ringing paused, and the vines slowed in their movements. “I am not dead,” said the voice that wasn’t his own. “You did not kill me. Even like this, you cannot tame me. Raise me, and I will live again.”
Follow Liam as his life intertwines with that of the verdant growth possessing the basement of his family’s manor. Read Dead Man’s Bells now!

Away With the Fairies by Annabeth Lynch
Modern with Magic, Siblings and Family, Fae/Fairy Kidnapping (Consensual)
“Why do the lightning bugs only fly up?” I asked Linda.
“Not all of them do. But this kind produces light as they fly. They’re sending signals to the others,” she said, coming to look at the ones I grabbed. “They’re telling each other things with the lights.”
“Like what?”
“Like what kind they are, or if they’re boys or girls, or whether they want to have babies. They talk by flashing. That’s why they blink.”
“What about that one?” I pointed at a fast-moving one. “That one isn’t blinking at all.”
Linda looked at the one I pointed at. She watched it for a long time, waiting for its light to blink off.
It didn’t.
What have Linda and her sister Suzy found amidst the fireflies (spoilers…it might be in the title…)? Read Away With the Fairies and find out!
