And that's Chapter 3! In which Shulk puts on his new outfit for Rex. The chapter is accompanied by this fanart. This was basically the original idea I had for the fic, back when it was a simple drabble to provide context for the art so it didn't feel as if I was tossing images into the void.

One more chapter before we get to the naughty stuff, because I got bitten by plotbunnies yet again and ended up writing so much for the second half of this chapter that it ended up becoming its own thing too.

Chapter 2 is out! Shulk takes a bit of time to reflect on his relationships past and present for this one.

Originally this was going to be a very short and fluffy intermission chapter to get to the fun stuff, but I had too many thoughts and headcanons for the time period in between Xenoblade 1 and 3 that spiraled into a more serious character piece, and ended up splitting it into two chapters.

There's only so much you can do about mistaken identity in the heat of the moment. So after enough years of Rex confusing him for Mythra, Shulk just learns to stop giving a damn, roll with it, and even embrace it.

Eventually he commissions an outfit from one of the Liberators who knew Mythra, and wears it it on purpose to look extra good for Rex.
