Wanted to sketch out a comic that represents Beth's most negative experience from all these crossover events she goes trough(a more in canon way of representing my experience playing my Unholy Trinity in different games)

Wanted to go with something dramatic, I feel like BG3 was a solid choice setting-wise for her letting it out, plus her wholesome Barbarian Buddy Karlach was a good person to add in for the interaction

The boys arrive to crash at Max's house for a while and hang out with Judy and her daughters. While there, Marko gives Thorn a dog bone and Paul thinks it's a great idea to give a femur bone to Aubrey. Aubrey: "What the hell is that?" Paul: "It's a human bone. You know, for you and your sisters." Audrey is visibly cross. Aubrey: "I'm not a damn dog you bone-head." Paul cocks an eyebrow. Paul: "So...you don't want it? Cause I'm sure Marko can-" He asks waving it. Suddenly Audrey snatches it and turns around. Aubrey: "No, it's mine now! Piss off!" She snaps back while hiding her blush. Paul just smugly smirks at her.

Huff... Huff... Huff...

It was done. It... He was finally free. Or at least, as free as he could be.

Shade's hunched back was bathed in silver moonlight, body covered in fur as his hands had twisted into paws. A fuzzy, rat-like tail sat curled under his legs.

His breath was heavy and haggard, the taste of blood filled his mouth as his teeth had been replaced by irregular, sharp fangs. The ground was covered in stringy, sinewy flesh, the only remains of what had once been a human body.

There was a disgusting wet schlop sound as the beast began to devour the old flesh. It licked away at the blood, and gorged itself on what little it could. It was hungry, starving even. These table scraps weren't enough for it, it needed more.

Shade, meanwhile, was caught in an almost dream-like state of awareness. His body had gone through so much pain that chemicals had flooded his mind, relieving him of the pain he'd experienced.

His body was foreign to him now, piloted by something that wasn't entirely him.

The beast gave a stretch, arcing its back with an eerie crack. It let out a low rumble, sniffing and scratching at the floor. It continued to lick at the blood, hoping for whatever nutrition it could get. It hadn't quite figured out the concept of doors yet, thankfully.

"Shade? Everything alright up there?" Shade's dad called. The familiar sound was enough to cause both him and the beast to perk up, and a sense of cold ran down the back of his mind.

Oh no... OH GOD NO-

"Shade Andrew Lovell! Open this door!" Shade's dad pounded on the door. "Don't make me get the key!"

"Is everything alright Lawrence?" Shade's mom chimed from behind the door. "You're going to wake Maddy with all this noise..."

"I think something might've gotten into our son's room, I need to make sure he's alright-"

The beast growled, its body hunched as the fur prickled on its back. It was ready to defend itself, and in a sickening moment - its mouth pulled into an eerie, monstrous grin.

"Mama, what's wrong?" A little girl's voice rang out from behind the door.

"Stay behind me sweetie, daddy's just going to check if Shade's alright-"

Shade felt the muscles of the beast tighten, his mind entering a state of horrifying clarity as the door opened. A flash of blood, his sister's scream, the dead stare of his murdered mother.

The scariest thing was the fact that no one came to help them. For over an hour, the beast gorged itself on the bodies of Shade's family. He was powerless to stop it, trapped behind what once were his eyes, now eerie, animalistic orbs.

When the deed was done, the beast rested on his bed. Its belly and claws were covered in blood, mouth caked with the last of the Lovells.

The most horrifying part was that Shade felt good. His body was no longer hungry, his body was filled with a sense of comfort, and the smell of blood had permeated his nose. The fact his mind gave such a response to this horror made him hate himself even more.

It wasn't long before the wolf got bored. No longer hungry, it would now hunt for its own pleasure... Leaving Shade to stew in the thoughts of the atrocities his body committed against his will.

He was a monster, and now... He was truly alone.

Aaron Lycan, who ripped people to shreds with his mouth during his rampage, his teeth and fangs sinking into flesh and severing the muscles and meat from the bones.. staining his jaw and face with sticky blood and small chunks of metallic yet sweet pieces of the people he's left limply sprawled across the pathway.. the adrenaline, the rush, perhaps even the taste - addicting, intoxicating.

Aaron Lycan who enjoyed the feeling of death in his mouth, who was terrified of being a monster- but adored the senses of control and power, the tangy muscle and copper tastes.

Beth in Rise of the Ronin finished

Ok so I've been playing a lot of Rise of Ronin today. Made a decent enough Beth, altho I feel like the CC was a bit worse to work with (beat act 1 and got her final final Drip! )

Rant related to Beth ingame, whenever she is in a conversation cutscene, her model reverts sliders for some dumb reason and she has a big head, skinnier arms and is shorter, and that shit drives me nuts. (I remember WoLong having a similar issue, no clue what they fucked up after Nioh 2's cutscenes)

Outside of that little segment, the game is overall fun, as a big fan of Nioh 2 and WoLong it def feels like a Team Ninja game, it's neat to have their take on an openworld style game. The combat tho, Im very mixed on. Combat is good by all means, but the heavy reliance on parrying has felt really offputting, it has more depth than WoLong but at the same time it does the parry side of thing way worse in my opinion .

Overall its still a very enjoyable experience, Story feels better than the other games. I do admit I miss the monster type enemies, but im glad the "oh no, important ally or enemy turned into monster" trope that was EVERY story beat is gone XD

Now Is the Perfect Time to Watch Some Movies Set in 2024

Now that we've made it to the new year, why not enjoy some old visions of it? I at least love to start the first few weeks of a year by going through the films set in the new year, as listed marvellously by Wikipedia.

Because I'm interested in old visions of the now-present, I usually skip movies that were produced in the last ten years. Because these usually don't provide very bold predictions. This criterion leaves the following seven entries for a Get Ready for '24 watchlist:

Beyond the Time Barrier. A 1960 time travel flick. Never heard of it. A quick look at the plot reminds me of Return to the Planet of the Apes. Which I kinda liked for its batshit abstrusity. Anyway, the movie is short and exactly what I'm looking for. So I'll definitely try to somehow get my hands on it.

A Boy and His Dog. This 1975 movie likely is the most notorious of this list. Not sure how well the film has aged, but it has been loitering on my to do list for years now, so the stars are aligned as good as never before.

Highlander II: The Quickening. Very likely to be the worst movie of this list. Haven't seen it yet, I think (or I forgot it after watching). And I haven't heard anything good of it, but at least it tells a story related to climate change. Which is better than nothing, I guess.

The Thirteenth Floor. I absolutely l o v e the German TV movie "World on a Wire", and Thirteenth Floor is a remake of this. I watched it once, but before seeing World on a Wire. So although Thirteenth Floor has only on small bit of its plot actually taking place in 2024, I really look forward to a rewatch of this 1999 production.

.hack//The Movie. A 2011 CGI anime movie. Never heard of it, but why not.

Underworld: Awakening and Underworld: Blood Wars. I remember liking the first Underworld movie, and I don't recall much of the other four films. So I think I'll use the final two installments playing in 2024 as an excuse for a rewatch of the whole series.

Narcopolis. This is a 2015 movie, so my Older Than Ten Years rule technically disqualifies this entry. But I'm quite intrigued by the story of a UK that has all drugs legalized. So I'll give it a watch.
