Secret relationship with Andy Herrera. 5 times you almost get caught, and the one time you do? Please? I love Andy so much!!
yesss! i love andy soooo much too. with a shy reader because why not?
eight months
1.
When the two of you first started dating you were always in the kitchen for some reason. You’d cook each other breakfast, as well as enough for the rest of the team when they came in so it didn’t look too suspicious.
The two of you would both come in early. It was something the both of you had a habit of doing even before you started dating.
It was actually how you became so close and when you had your first kiss.
Once you started dating, the two of you would come into the kitchen and hangout. You’d talk and make breakfast, just spend time together.
But the first time you almost got caught the two of you were eating together at the table.
“This is really good Andy,” You licked your lips, pulling in any left over cinnamon from the french toast Andy had just made.
“Thanks,” Andy smiled.
She’d been done eating minutes before you, and was watching you eat at this point. Not in a creepy way, but in an admirable way. Like she couldn’t believe you were hers.
“I made it because I know it’s your favorite,” The firefighter rested her elbow on the table with her chin placed in the palm of her hand.
Your lips curved into a half smile as you finished your last bite of breakfast.
You turned yourself in your seat—you’d always been clingy towards people. It was how you showed your love, even though you were shy—and you pulled Andy’s chair closer.
“Alright,” Andy chuckled as you pulled on the chair. “before you get too comfortable let’s at least take care of these first.”
Andy took both of your plates, rinsed them off in the sink for whoever was on dish duty tonight, and made her way back to you.
“Now, you can be as clingy as you want,” Andy moved impossibly closer to you.
You placed your feet on the rungs of the chair Andy was sitting in. It was the only way closer to her without actually sitting on top of her, and that was another risk all in itself— but it was one Andy was willing to take.
“Come up here,” Andy jerked her head and you became shy all of the sudden. You dipped your head into her neck and that made Andy shake her head with a chuckle. “Don’t be shy now, sweetheart.”
She lifts your chin and pulls you in for a soft kiss, pulling away after a second to look into your eyes.
Andy may have pulled you in for more if the sound of laughter and footsteps coming down the hall into the kitchen hadn’t made way.
Andy gives you a kiss on the cheek as you scramble off her lap and onto your own chair. You scoot the chair over a few feet to make it look like two friends just had breakfast.
“Hey.. guys?” Victoria looked at you with a frown and you really thought you’d gotten caught right then and there. “Aw man, you guys already ate? Again?”
“I swear,” Maya shook her head. “You guys get here at like four am. And I thought I was an overachiever.”
“What can I say?” You put your hands up, trying not to sound suspicious.
2.
On the next occasion, a few months later, you and Andy were laying in a bed together in one of the rooms at the station.
For some ungodly reason, the two of you were on your monthly 48 hour shift, and you were catching some sleep before the next call.
Well, you weren’t actually sleeping, as much as cuddling and talking before dozing off for the night.
“You know, maybe we could go on a real date soon,” Andy suggested. “There’s an amazing restaurant I want to take you to.”
“But?” You sensed something.
“But we might run into someone we know,” Andy sighed.
“Maybe we should just tell them,” You suggested back, tilting your head towards Andy.
“Not yet,” Andy shook her head slightly. “I like having you all to myself right now.”
“I like being all yours but.. I have to admit it would be nice to go out with you,” You smiled shyly.
“Well, we can just risk it,” Andy smirked excitedly. “Yes. It’s settled. We’ll go after our shift.”
“You didn’t even ask if I wanted to go!” You threw your head back. “And I will at least need to sleep a few hours after our shift before I go anywhere. And how nice is this place?”
Andy was about to reply when the door swung open and you launched yourself out of the bed.
Travis stumbled in half asleep, “Why are you on the floor?”
“Um…” You tried to think of a good reason but then Travis stumbled into a bed on the other side of the room.
“It’s not the weirdest thing I’ve seen tonight,” Travis mumbled, already half asleep.
“That’s was close,” Andy said once she was sure Travis was asleep.
“Yes. It was,” You lift yourself up off the floor and lay in one of the other beds. “That hurt.”
You laughed along with your girlfriend, wishing Travis hadn’t walked in. It was probably for the better, because if it had been a few more minutes the two of you probably would have fallen asleep in the bed together, and that would’ve risen more concerns in itself.
“We can take a nap before we go,” Andy said after a minute of silence. “At our place, and I’ll help you pick something to wear. But if you don’t want to go, we can stay in—“
“No. I would never turn down seeing you in a dress,” You joked. “And I’d go just about anywhere with you, so..”
“Is that so?”
“Yeah,” You said as you stared at the ceiling, Travis’ snores lulling you to sleep.
3.
And so Andy did take you out alright.
You were living together by now, and were still, somehow, a secret to the station. She picked out a beautiful dress for you—of your favorite color—and a light green dress for herself. Slivers of skin peeking out of the dress at her sides.
She took you out to a nice Italian restaurant on the other side of the city; hopes of not running into anyone there.
It’d been going pretty well for the moment.
Andy had her elbow on the table again, her chin resting in the palm of her hand while she lovingly gazed at you. It was something she’d come to do around you, and you got giddy at it every time.
“Thank you for taking me out,” You tilt your head to the side. “But I am helping you pay.”
Andy rolls her eyes, “I figured as much.”
You chuckle.
The food came quickly after that, and you were just about to order dessert when you saw Carina and Maya make their way in.
You clench your jaw and said, “Maya and Carina are here. We should probably pay and get out of here before they see us.”
“I already paid,” Andy looks away from you guiltily as she takes a sip of her wine.
“Andrea!” You smack her arm.
“What?” Andy shrugs. “I was taking you out. Not the other way around. It’s only fair if I pay.”
“But— but—“ You sputter as Andy stands up and takes your hand, leading the both of you out of the restaurant. “You were just going to let me think I helped you pay?”
“Maybe,” Andy surveys your face, which gets redder but the second when Andy backs you up against the passenger side door. “Or maybe..”
Your breath hitches as Andy pushes your hair back and lowers her lips to your ear, “You can just pay for desert.”
Your cheeks are hot, and Andy smirks at your newfound weakness.
She opens the door for you and waits for you to sit in the seat before shutting the door and making her way to the drivers side.
4.
For your birthday you decided you wanted to just have a little get together and your—and Andy’s (although no one knew it was hers too)—apartment.
You were never one for big parties, and you didn’t really have any friends outside of the station. So you decided this would fine.
Everyone decided they’d all just bring something, that way there was plenty to eat.
The day before during dinner Maya, your best friend, had brought it up. You’d invited them to come over weeks in advance, because you knew how the firefighters liked to make plans.
You told them you were just going to order takeout and you could watch a few movies, maybe drink some beer.
But Victoria didn’t like that one bit. She complained and decided she’d bring a cake—whether it was one she made herself, or not, you’d never know—and everyone agreed with her, deciding on what they’d bring or make.
Andy ‘arrived’ first. She’d brought some fruit and vegetables, mostly just because she knew no one else would and that you’d be eating random unhealthy food for the rest of the night, so she figured it wouldn’t hurt if you had some healthy food to pick at.
“Hey gorgeous,” You beamed as she placed the trays on the counter in your kitchen.
“Gorgeous?” Andy smiles at the new nickname. “I should be calling you gorgeous. Look at you.”
You tip your chin downward, growing slightly shy at Andy’s words.
“I’m serious! Look at you,” Andy grabbed both your hands and spun you around, dipping you down as if the two of you had been dancing.
The hand Andy had on your back, holding you up, soothingly caresses your hip as she leans in for a searing hot kiss.
You moaned as Andy lifted you up while she bit your lip. She led you towards the couch, climbing on top of you.
Andy pulls down your shirt a few inches and leaves a mark on a patch of skin that is assured to be hidden by your shirt.
For once, you’re glad the front door to your apartment is located in the kitchen.
“We’re here,” Victoria sings from the kitchen, everyone filing in.
“Every time,” You shake your head, your hands resting on Andy’s hips.
“That’s not true,” Andy’s curly hair falling around her face. “Last night—“
You push her off your lap with a shy expression.
“Happy Birthday, beautiful.”
5.
It was nearing the ends of your shifts, and you and Andy planned to catch dinner and a movie afterward, so you decided to take a shower at the station— together.
Andy figured it would be safe because everyone else was heading out to the bar, and had asked if you or Andy wanted to come, but both of you denied.
Andy attacked your lips, her hands wrapping around the sides of your neck, her thumbs resting under your jawline to hold your head up.
You ran a hand through her hair while the other ran down her side.
“Mm,” You leaned your head back, your girlfriend’s assaults moving onto your neck. “We should get washed—“
“Shh,” Andy pressed her finger to your mouth.
“But—“
“My love,” Andy laughed. “We have time, I promise. We will make our movie—“
“Y/n?” Maya opened the door to the shower room. “Are you in here?”
You pushed Andy down and peek your head out of the shower, holding the curtain in place as not to flash yourself to Maya.
“What?” You asked a little rudely.
“Do you work tomorrow?” Maya asked with an antsy demeanor.
“No,” Your face softened.
Her wedding with Carina was coming up and you and Andy were both going to be her bridesmaids. You knew she was freaking out since it was so close.
“Well I need help finding something to wear and we still need to— to do a bunch of stuff—“ Maya paced the steamed up room.
“I got you, okay? Get me a list and me and whoever else is off tomorrow will take care of it. Okay?”
“Yeah, okay. Yeah,” Maya nodded. “You’re a lifesaver. Are you sure you don’t want to come tonight?”
“Yes! I am sure.”
+1
Maya and Carina’s wedding came faster than the two of you—you and Andy—could have noticed.
You’d been running around like a crazy person trying to figure out everything and anything for Maya, that way she wasn’t so stressed.
You made sure that the flowers, the catering, the guests, anything else imaginable, was in place for your best friends wedding.
The to-be-married couple requested that the two of you wore red dresses. Victoria and Ben were also told the bridesmaids dress code (Ben wore a red tie because Maya said she would probably call off the wedding if he showed up in a full red tux).
The four of you left your shifts early to help decorate, that way the two women could be calm and relaxed on the wedding day.
Once you’d all decorated, you headed home to get ready.
Andy wore a tighter fitting red dress that ended mid-thigh, with her curly hair framing her face, and it took your breath away when she revealed herself.
“Wow,” You looked her up and down.
“You don’t look so bad yourself,” Andy looked you up and down as well, and you felt yourself growing shy.
You were wearing a longer darker red dress. It had spaghetti straps and a slit up the side of the skirt.
Andy kissed your cheek, and it left a lipstick mark.
“Ugh, Andrea!” You moaned in complaint. “We need to go! You can’t do that!”
“I think I already did,” Andy laughed and licked her finger, moving towards you to rub the stain off your face but you backed up.
“Ew!” You put your hands out. “I’ll just wipe it off and redo my makeup on the side in the car. You’ll drive.”
“Yes, sweetheart,” Andy agreed, and the two of you were on your way.
When you got there, you and Andy helped Maya get ready while Victoria and Ben helped Carina.
Well, more Victoria than Ben. He was really just there as moral support. He was the only one at the station who was still currently married, so he was there to calm Carina’s nerves.
The wedding was about to start when Andy pulled you out into the hall, away from the crowd of people the women invited.
“You’re gonna smear your—“ You try to warn Andy before she placed her lips on yours, but she was too far gone. “lipstick.” You mumbled.
“I don’t care,” Andy lifted one of your thighs, your leg wrapping around her hip, the satin red material of your dress bunching around at your own hip.
“I do! You know we’re gonna— mm,” Andy smooshed her lips back onto yours, making your words go muffled.
“Shh,” Andy laughed once more. “You worry too much, my shy, shy girl.”
You duck your chin as always, and Andy lifted it to give you a few more kisses.
“Hey guys..” Maya lead the group of firefighters into the hall.
“We’re about to start— oh my!” Travis put his hand over his eyes.
Andy removed herself from you, dropping your leg to the ground when she does so.
“How long..” Ben asked awkwardly.
“Uh..” You coved your mouth, all of the sudden acting as if you didn’t know what was happening. “That’s an amazing question.. Andy?”
“Just like.. eight months,” Andy shrugged nonchalantly.
“Eight m— eight months?!” Victoria feigned hurt.
“How did you..?” Maya shook her head.
“We’re very good?” You asked.
“This is living proof that opposites attract,” Carina shrugged.
“Yeah, that is true..” Jack nodded. “Wait, so if you’ve been together eight months.. are you living together?”
The silence was deafeningly loud.
“How did we not see this?” Travis asked in a high pitched voice.
“Wait, now that I think about it, there were a lot of occasions..” Maya put her hands on her hips.
“Okay,” Andy put a hand out. “Let us fix ourselves up, and we can get this show on the road.”
Carina dramatically sighed, “How are we gonna put on a wedding after this?”
“Okay, babe, let’s go,” Maya rolled her eyes at her soon-to-be-wife. “Please don’t mess around in the bathroom. You have three minutes.”

best books of 2017
this year i read so much less than i ever have before, both because i had so much else to do while i was studying abroad the first half of the year, and because after that, i hit a slump. i was very stressed and troubled this year, and amidst all the disquiet i couldn’t read. but my love of reading is returning, and i did find some gems.
the bear and the nightingale and its sequel, the girl in the tower, by katherine arden: the first was one of the first i read in 2017, and the second one of the last. imagine wintry russia, young girls being curious and wild and breaking all the gender roles, frost demons, tormented priests, old russian pagan beliefs, family love and hardship. a fairy tale wrapped in history. utterly enchanting.
winter of ice and iron by rachel neumeier: another wintry read, this one very much a traditional fantasy, but driven by its characters, one of whom is a duke struggling to be stronger than a dark part of his soul, one a princess who finds herself in unsavory situation after another, trying to take control of her own destiny. it’s slow and quiet, which not everyone will like, but is exactly my type, and sharp-edged and full of small moments of wonder and heartache.
the hating game by sally thorne: god, this was the very first book i read in 2017, and it is incredible. it’s a contemporary romance about two coworkers who try constantly to one-up each other, and it’s fucking hilarious and sexy and sweet. a perfect pick-me-up or wind-me-down in a bubble bath with some wine and candles.
the last unicorn by peter s. beagle: i don’t know where to start with this one. i grew up watching the animated adaptation of this novel, and it dug its bittersweet, grotesque claws into my heart. i read the book this year, and it was like coming home. it’s a children’s book truly written for adults: a unicorn discovers she may be the last of her kind left in the world, and sets out from her forest to find the others, encountering greedy witches, alcoholic skulls, tyrannical kings, the sad magic of mortality...it’s hopeful and heartbreaking, full of lyrical writing and witty, strange moments of anachronism, and it will convince you magic really does exist in the world, or could, if only we believed enough.
the fallen kingdom by elizabeth may: the falconer series (this is the last in the trilogy) isn’t one many people have read, which is a damn shame. it’s a story about fae set in 19th century scotland, featuring badass warrior women, absolutely terrifying and/or enchanting imagery, the utter brutality and nobility of the human heart, female friendships, realistic depictions of trauma and sacrifice. the writing, the characters, and the relationships improve with every installment, and although they can be cheesy/predictable, they really do make you smile, gasp, cry, feel.
here’s my full 2017 favorites shelf. happy reading! and here’s to all the good books 2018 will bring x

Lucy Chen x reader
Reader is somehow involved in 5 calls Lucy gets and finally they’re actually in danger at the last call and Lucy decides to ask them out at the end
yesss i love all the lucy asks! she’s adorable, especially in this season. her smileeeee
god is not on my side
1.
God was just not on your side today, or this whole week, if you were being honest.
You were a nurse at a local hospital here in Los Angeles, and of course you were late getting out today - again.
Yesterday you’d gotten out thirty minutes late. Which wasn’t so bad, because you lived 15 away from the hospital, and 15 away from the school. So you had enough time to run home, pick your sister up and run her to the game. She got there just in time for warmups.
But today.. you hadn’t gotten out for an hour. You were an hour late. You were all but running out of the hospital when you were finally able to go.
You rushed as quickly as you could to the house, and you were scolded by your sister, Avery, when she hopped into the car.
“Just freaking drive!” She said as she hung halfway out the door.
“I don’t want to get pulled over,” You try to remain calm, but on the inside you’re freaking out just as hard. You know how important soccer was to Avery. Especially because she’s in her senior year, which means she’s being watched every second of her playing time.
“I don’t even care. I will pay if you get a ticket. Just get me to the field!” She all but yelled at you.
You glance over at your sister. Her hair was already up and she had your guys’ moms favorite color pre-wrap around her head - it was her signature trade mark - along with her shin guards and her dirty cleats that are messing up your clean car.
You press on the gas slightly and you see red and blue flashing lights.
“Shit!” You curse, pulling over to the side of the road.
“Seriously..” Avery sits back in her seat.
“You take point Chen,” You hear out your window as a beautiful woman approaches the side of your car.
“Are you aware that you were speeding?” The officer - Chen - holds her hands in front of her confidently.
“Yes. I’m so, so, so sorry. I normally wouldn’t speed but my sister here is very late to her soccer game because I didn’t get out of work at the time I should have— which is all my fault by the way,” You spare a glance at your sister who is fuming by now. “You see, she’s a senior now and there are scouts all over the place and this is not a good look for her if she’s going to be even more late so if you could please just do whatever you’re going to do, and let me go, I will pay or do whatever you want. Just please let me get her to the high school.”
Lucy’s eyes are a bit wider than they were two minutes ago.
“Oh— well— um, I’ll let you off on a warning this time,” Lucy nods and you let out a relieved breath.
“Thank you. You are a goddess. I could kiss you.”
“Oh—“
“But I won’t,” You chuckle.
“I hope I do not see you again,” Lucy points. “Wait, that sounded rude. Just— I just hope I don’t see you again because I don’t want you to be a criminal—“
“No, I understand,” You smiled widely at the adorable woman.
“Chen,” Tim says sternly.
“Y/n!” Avery says at the same time.
“Right, we’re going. I hope not to see you again, either.”
With that, you’re off.
2.
You guess someone on the side of the road called the cops, you weren’t really sure.
All you knew was you were walking towards the store to get a few groceries for you and your sister before your night shift, when you got punched in the face.
You were slouched down against the side of a brick building when you see two sets of feet appear in front of you.
“Chen-“
“Hey,” Lucy places a gentle hand on your shoulder, ignoring Tim’s protests. She knows all you need right now is a comforting shoulder to lean on. She would know. “What happened?”
“I—“
“It’s okay. Does your throat hurt?” Lucy rubs your shoulder soothingly with her thumb, her hand still resting there.
You nod.
“I see you have a bad bruise there on your eye, did the attacker hit you anywhere else?”
Tim is impressed by Lucy’s ease and strength throughout this process. He makes a mental note to praise her later for being so supportive to you.
“My—“ Your voice is raspy. “Ribs. There’s probably one or two broken.”
Lucy looks down at your shirt, “Do you mind if I take a look?”
You nod again, letting her know it’s okay that she looks.
She’s not surprised to see the bruising on your abdomen, and is glad to see it was only one or two like you said.
“You should go to the hospital to get checked out,” Lucy looks down at you with concerned eyes. “Did he steal anything from you?”
“My— my wallet,” You swallow, and your throat contracts painfully.
“We’ll locate that for you,” Tim promises, his eyes almost matching Lucy’s.
“Thank you,” You sniff.
“Now let’s get you to the hospital.. Y/N, right?”
You didn’t even have to tell her your name.
3.
You were nearing the end of your shift, and to be honest, you couldn’t be any happier if you tried. Partly because you were already as excited as you could get due to you finally getting to leave after an overly long day. But you were also too tired to get even more excited.
But as of late God hasn’t been in your favor. Which really explains why the second you’re about to pack up to change, the hospital is hit with a bunch of traumas - all hands on deck.
You guessed it might have been some kind of mass casualty. Maybe a multiple car pile up or a shooting.
Your suspicions only grew when one of the officers you’ve come to be familiar with - Officer Bradford - and another officer came strolling in. They had concerned looks on their faces.
You couldn’t help but notice Officer Chen (still no first name) wasn’t with him.
Officer Bradford spots you and almost immediately is by your side, hounding you for information.
“Do you know where she is?” You can see the fear in his eyes. He’s terrified for whoever he may be looking for. “She was hit- and- and- Jackson too. I- I should’ve seen it coming.”
“It’s okay Tim,” The woman that stands beside Tim shares a similar expression to him. You were guessing this woman was Jackson’s partner. The officer says in a much calmer voice, “Have you seen any officers be brought in?”
“No,” You swallow thickly and watch as their faces fall. “But I’ll find out right now.”
You see relief flash through Tim’s eyes as you back up and speed through the doors that lead into the emergency room.
Lucy locks her eyes on you, and you are at her side in a second. Another nurse is helping her but you tell her, “I got this one. Help the other officer over there.”
“Tim sent you,” Lucy says through her teeth, in an obvious amount of pain. She was tough and when in pain she didn’t show it. You admired that.
“He did,” You admit, lifting the gauze to see the wound on her cheek. “What happened?”
“We were hit by another car. We were chasing- I don’t know why I’m telling you this,” Lucy looks down.
“It’s okay,” You smile down at her. “You were caught in a traumatic situation, it causes a little shock- which is what you are experiencing.”
She hisses in pain when you tap at her wound with a disinfectant.
“Thank you,” Lucy locks her gorgeous brown eyes on yours.
“Of course.”
4.
You loved Avery, you really, really did, but you hated soccer games.
Not because of the game itself, because you loved to see Avery play. There was nothing you loved more than seeing Avery happy. But you hated the parents.
They are downright rude. They call out at the other kids who are doing just fine, and then praise their own.
“Come on Avery! That was a clear shot!” One of the girls’ fathers stands to shout from the sideline.
You are fuming by now, because that was at least the tenth time this man has shouted at Avery.
“There were three girls in her way,” You point your hand in the direction of the goal.
“She could have shot over them,” The man shrugs. “She’s done it before.”
“Yeah maybe when it wasn’t twenty degrees outside,” You roll your eyes.
“Oh, so now you’re blaming the weather on her poor shooting skills?” The man is still standing as he crossing his arms.
“Well I’m just saying it is pretty windy as well,” You stand too. “You weren’t opposed to blaming weather twenty minutes ago when your daughter missed her shot.”
“That’s—“
“Oh, yeah?” You raise your brows.
“You—“ The man begins to get in your face.
“Woah, woah, woah,” Tim shouts from the side, coming into your view. “Get away from the woman.”
“Or what?”
“I think you know,” Lucy stands confidently, and you have to admit that you’re attracted to her confidence in that moment.
A look flashes over the man’s face but he does back off from your face.
You let out a relieved breath, shooting a thankful smile in Lucy’s direction, Lucy smiling back. And oh my, was it breathtaking.
Lucy nods at you in understanding and as a goodbye.
“I hope I won’t be seeing you again,” Lucy tells the man, trying her best to not pose it as a threat.
5.
As if you didn’t have enough on your plate already, someone was now stealing your mail and packages.
You’d ordered new chargers for your car and for the house at least three times now, and they have all been stolen.
“Again?” Avery asked with a concerned face as you searched the porch for something - anything.
“Yes!” You threw your arms up. “This is the third time. I don’t have the money to just keep spending.”
“I know,” Avery’s face holds a frown. “Maybe you should call that hot cop so she can help you figure it out.”
Your face turns a faint shade of pink at her comment.
Avery smirks, “That’s my dose of humor for the day. I’m off to school. I won’t be home until later, one of the girls with drop me off here. But seriously, get this figured out. Maybe actually go to the police about it.”
“I’ll try.”
And you did.
You really weren’t trying to run into Lucy, or make up reasons to talk to her, but you could see that’s not what it looked like here.
As you think this, it feels as if someone is listening to you. Or it’s just Avery.
Because when you enter the station, there is the cute cop you haven’t been able to get enough of.
You watch Lucy for a second.
She was standing up, but leaning on the counter, her head resting on her folded arms. Her eyes were closed as if she was sleeping, but when you stepped closer she says, “Nolan, if you have a can of silly string, I will kick you in the—“
“I don’t know who Nolan is, but he seems like a piece of work,” You joke, and Lucy is snapped up-right.
“Y/n,” Lucy smiles, grabbing at her coffee tumbler to fidget with. “What are you doing here? I thought I said I didn’t want to see you again? Although, I’m not going to complain. Anyway, uh, what can I do for you?”
You smile nervously, in a good way, and say, “I think someone is stealing my packages.. I’ve ordered phone chargers at least three different times, and they’ve all been stolen.”
Lucy nods attentively, watching you closely, her hands still wrapped around the cup.
“Okay. Let’s just fill out a form, and I will make sure our best detective, Angela Lopez, you’ve actually met her— anyway,” Lucy closes her eyes, pushing a hand into her forehead. “I’ll make sure she gets on it right away.”
“Thank you,” You smile, the two of you locking eyes. “You like coffee?”
“What?”
“The tumbler,” You point. “You like coffee? I’m more of a tea girl myself.”
“Oh— yeah, I like coffee.”
“Good to know,” You tilt your head and turn to walk out.

You just wanted to go to the bank. You really did. Everything you do lately seems to be done with a run in with police and with God on your bad side.
You freeze when you hear the shooting start. Someone has to pull you down to be stopped from getting shot.
Time flies by as he begins making threats and as the cops show up - them trying to compromise with the man.
“No! No!” The man shouted at himself. He had obvious injuries from days leading up to this. You could see infection blooming.
He stares right at you, catching your eye. He grabs your arm and lifts you with a grunt.
You choke back a sob as he says into the phone, “I have someone— her name is—“
“Y/n— Y/n,” You stutter into the phone.
“I’ll shoot her. I will.”
And then he hangs up.
“You’re too close to this Chen,” Tim shakes his head, watching her as she stirs up ideas.
“Lucy?” Nyla and Angela ask at the same time.
“That might be useful,” John says, receiving a few questioning looks. “Well, I’m just saying. She might be able to trip him up.”
“That’s a good idea,” Wade points. “Lucy, how well do you know with woman?”
Lucy doesn’t know how to answer that. She just picks the phone back up and begins to get the man on the line.
“You need to let her go,” Lucy says in a stern voice, stunning everyone. Even you.
“What for?”
“Because I like her. She’s so sweet and so kind. The kindest I’ve ever meet. I don’t know her well, but I hope to over dinner because I would love to get to know her on a personal level, rather than a police and civilian level. She has a sister to take care of, and you can’t take a life of another one of her loved ones. She’s a nurse at the hospital— one of the best. You can’t take her life away just because you’re too insecure to do anything about yourself.”
The man stays quiet, and for a second you really think he’s going to kill you.
“I’ll let her go,” The man begins, and you can hear Lucy let out a shaky but relieved breath. “On one condition.”
“And what might that be?” Lucy’s confident voice was back, and if she was being serious about the date, you already knew what your answer was going to be.
“I walk out of here free. With 250K.”
“Fine,” Lucy agrees.
“That’s a quarter of a million dollars—“ You hear Tim shriek before Lucy hangs the phone up.
You’re pushed to the ground back where you were before when the LAPD comes rushing into the bank.
Lucy was at your side in an instant, ushering you to your feet, trying to take you towards the ambulance so you could get checked.
“I’m okay,” You promise Lucy.
“I can’t be so sure,” Lucy chuckles.
You nod awkwardly.
“Okay, well,” Lucy turns to go, but you stop her.
“Did you.. mean what you said?”
Lucy turns back to you and looks at the ground for a second.
“If you didn’t, it’s okay. I mean, I would love to go out if you—“
Next thing you know, Lucy’s lips are on yours. Her lips are soft and kissable and everything you’ve imagined, but better.
“I meant everything I said,” She holds your face in her hands. “And, would you like to?”
“Like I was saying,” You touch your nose to hers. “I would love to.”

The one thing I'll never be able to appreciate enough about my husband is the fact that he isn't an oblivious man, he sees and notices everything even if he doesn't immediately say anything. He never lets anyone harm me or get away with saying anything negative to me. He's my biggest supporter and my best friend.

A LunaTic and her Gunn (Part 21)
"A hippie, A punk and An Alien"
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
@creatureofthen1ght-v3
Upstairs, Luna throws on a pair of old jeans with a pair of strappy, flat studded heels. She adds a chunky, gray knitted cardigan over her thin, white tank and black lacey bra. Making sure to be careful of her arm. Leaving her blonde hair loose.
Before leaving she heads back into the studio to kiss Colson goodbye. They're still working on the track. After she kissess him, she asks Colson to send her a copy. He obliges. Walking back up the stairs, song playing in her head, something about it just isn't sitting right with Luna.
"I wanna work this in..." Colson thinks to himself, after saying goodbye to Luna. As he helps mix the track, his mind trails off "But there's somethin ain't right..." His thoughts nagging him.
------------------------------------------------
Colson offered his Rover but Luna prefers to uber. The New Yorker in her doesn't like to drive if she doesn't have to. Looking out the window, heading to meet Frannie and Paris, 'Tangled up in Blue' comes on the radio. Leaning up Luna begins to ask "Can you..." She stops herself, leaning back into her seat, letting the song play as her mind drifts to Justin. Bob was Theirs.
With a deep flash of pain, she opens her heart as he floods in. Remembering all those nights in bed with just a guitar and a bottle. All the songs they wrote together, littering her brain. "FUCK." She thinks. She breathes deeply, letting him linger in her soul instead of reaching for a Xanax. They had been together since Luna was 17. At almost 27, he had been tangled through out almost her entire life. "I'll always love you." She sighs. Holding her tears, she collects herself as she tips the uber driver and slides out.
------------------------------------------------
"LOOOONS!!!" Frannie and Paris greet her in unison as she steps out of her uber. They're in The Valley, close to Roger's Bowling. Heading to their favorite Mexican hole in the wall, El Familia.
Chatting with each other unrelentlessly, they're sat easily, ordering margaritas immediately. As they're placed on the table, Paris takes a long sip of hers.
"I fucking LOOOVE their Margs!!" She declares happily, making Luna and Frannie laugh hard.
They don't need menus, they've been eating here ever since they discovered Roger's on Luna's first trip to see Frannie. YEARS ago. They had met in NY, at Vogue, both interning as teenagers at the same time. It was a great experience and connection for them both.
-------------------------------------------------
Anna is a wonderful, delightful and a trusted role model/associate to them both. She had been delighted to connect the girls, pleased to encourage such kind, artistic linears. Without knowing it, Anna fell absolutely in love with both of them. She continues to find it to be a personal privilege, watching their friendship and styles blossom over the years. Observing as they both continued to find their own ways through life and fashion. Her heart broke with their obsure, unfortold similarity. Being who she is, she can't help but admire their own individual strengths and styles. Their sole persons never being lost upon her. They both have a bleeding, long standing, personal sense of self. Aligned with an AUTHENTIC friendship. It's one of the rarest gems Anna has found in her glittered world.
But, glam and glitter aren't in these girls bones. Their friendship was the greatest gift they both took from the internship.
-------------------------------------------------
"YOU fucking love TEQUILA, P!!" Luna laughs, teasing her friend.
"I do. I do..." Paris nods her head laughing, acknowledging both her love and friend's knowledge. She's known Luna almost all her life. Her dad had been friends with Luna's grandmother. They'd been through a lot together. Luna, P and Frannie had all gravitated to each other easily. Luna introducing P to Frannie. They were their own version of The Three Musketeers. A hippie, a punk and an alien, as Frannie liked to refer to herself. All artists. Trying to create their own world, beyond their predecessors.
"Sooooo.....MGK, I mean, Colllllson..." Frannie teases Luna.
"Yeeeahhhhh...." Luna responds beaming.
"You guys are FUCKING cute!!" P declares, Frannie nodding in agreeance.
"We got tattoos..." Luna says beaming, sliding her cardigan off her shoulder. Lifting her right arm to showcase her new ink.
"You drew that, didn't you!?" Frannie asks laughing, knowing Luna's work immediately.
"I did." She laughs, blushing. "We wrote a song too...." She cheeses, rolling her eyes. "Will you listen?" She asks.
"OF COURSE!!" Both girls respond in unison.
Luna pulls her phone out. Finding the file Colson had sent her, she plays it for her friends. They listen intently.
"Wow." Frannie says first. "That's different for you. You're on a beat, not live?"
"Yeeeahhh...." Luna says reluctantly.
"I like it. But doesn't he have a band? Why aren't you live?" P persists.
Her friend's insight seeps into Luna. "I don't know...." She trails off. Knowing that, THAT, was what she was feeling when she walked out of the studio earlier.
"It'd be better live." Frannie says flatly "That's who YOU are and HE HAS A BAND" She continues with a knowing look "I like him and I LOVE that you're happy and creating..." She trails off before she starts again "The lyrics are fucking GREAT, Loons, BUT I'm gonna call you when you're doing some false shit." Frannie continues pointing her purple painted finger out "You don't ride a fucking beat, Loon." Frannie shakes at her matter of fact.
"SOOOO...!!!" Luna starts, changing the subject. "Tell me the latest news on THAT Motherfucker." She's referring to Frannie's divorce. "He still going after The '59 Martin?" She asks her intensely, chin in hand, Frannie's previous words not lost on Luna's mind.
"Yeah.... He won't stop." She sighs.
"You know, I can just fucking kill him." Luna states matter of factly.
Laughing, Frannie responds "I know!" She reaches across the table to grab Luna's hand. "He's already claiming Courtney has tried, though." She sighs, squeezing Luna as she rolls her eyes, letting out a light, sad, chuckle.
"PERFECT!" Luna laughs loudly, squeezing Frannie back. Trying to lighten her friend's heart. "2 birds, 1 fucking stone. Fuck 'em both. I'll ride and let that crazy bitch take the fucking hit!!"
All 3 girls erupt into laughter, knowing there's a legitimacy to Luna's words. She hates the situation Frannie's in, all around. She can't stand Courtney, nor this stupid fucking "husband". As one of Frannie's most trusted friends, she's never cared for either one. A solid regret of Luna's, being that she didn't speak her mind on the latter before it was too late.
"Never a-fucking-gain" Luna thinks squeezing Frannie's hand again, as she looks her friend deep in the eyes.
"You lemme know." Luna says with a nod and her devilish smile, unwaveringly before turning to Paris.
"Tell me about this new Lovaaaa!" She smiles softer at P, snaking her black index finger. Luna hasn't met her new boyfriend yet. She'd been mourning on the East Coast as her friend fell in love on The West.
"Ohhhh...." Paris sighs happily. "He's wonderful and beautiful and..." She trails off beaming. "I have SO much fun creating with him, Loons!!" She bursts to Luna's pleasure.
Excited for her friend, Luna asks when their next show is. Paris isn't sure, her and Gabe are just starting off. "I'm here for a minute." Luna tells her "Let me know when you have a gig, P. You know I'm there." Smiling at her friend. She loves P's style and is always happy to support and experience new music. Personal friends or not. Luna's heart lies deeply in music. It's why she has a cleft note tattooed on her left ring finger. Her first and true love. She's married to music.
"We both will!!" Frannie chimes in. Paris smiles brightly, knowing she has the GREATEST friends.
-------------------------------------------------
The girls finish dinner. Floating around The Valley, they stop into "Roger's" to say 'Hi' to their friend, catch up and reminisce. Luna regrets not thinking to bring the magic slushies. They grab a couple bottles before heading to the beach to burn and watch the sun.
Although she was raised in NY, Luna loves and knows CA like a sweet step-parent. Watching the sunset bob against the sea, enjoying a joint with her friends, Luna's heart swells. She loves and lives for moments like this. She pulls her camera out. It's never far from her grasp. P pulls another joint from her bag, never far from her grasp. The girls giggle, getting stoned, passing the bottles and joints back and forth in delight.
-------------------------------------------------
After the sun has beyond set, huge burn circles and lots of love talking on the beach, the trio hug each other before separating. Each taking an uber. Luna's slightly drunk, but extremely heady as she rides back to Colson's. She enjoyed her time with her friends. Smiling contently she leans her head back for the rest of the way.
-------------------------------------------------
Walking into the house, Luna doesn't know what time it is. She doesn't care. She's drunker than she thought and she wants Colson. And she wants to go to bed. Walking downstairs, she finds him in the booth. Some of the guys are in the studio with a bunch of girls. Slim and a guy she doesn't recognize are at the board. She doesn't care. She walks right into the booth. Heels clicking in her stride.
Colson has been watching her since she came into the studio. His dick grows as he watches her find him and zone in. Her stride is sexy and smooth. Heels clicking with authority. She places her hands on his hips, pulling her into him while sliding her brilliant blue eyes inside his. DEEPLY. "Come to bed, Bunny..." She says, giving him THAT One Look. "Please." She begs before loudly kissing him on the cheek. With drunken, knowing eyes, she smirks at him before sauntering out of the booth. Heels clicking. His eyes follow her out of the booth, through the studio. She stops at the door, letting her cardigan slide down as she looks at him over her tattooed shoulder. Narrowing her eyes, she bites her lip hard before heading out the door with a taunting smile.
""THIS FUCKING BITCH!!!" Colson thinks, his dick growing in excitement with her every move. He looks at AJ and Slim, throwing a wrap it up signal up. He hangs up his headphones before following behind Luna.
-------------------------------------------------
To be continued.....
