Over 24 hours later and I finally got some water. Last time I had it, it was thanks to the nice lady at Denny's who treated me with more basic human decency and respect at 2am than I could expect to receive from any other place

Last night was just an old lady and the dudebro chef in the back. They told me I could take an extra long time eating since they were going on a break. She was so nice. She gave me a coaster with my coffee and asked if I wanted water too. I noticed she didn't give the guy I was with a coaster. Maybe she knew

It was the second Denny's I had to travel to because the first one was literally abandoned. Not a single person around. I walked by the back and there wasn't a person there. I could've stolen at least a soda from the back and the cold meal that was lonely on the counter. The receipt said it had been ordered over an hour ago though and I just wanted a warm meal. I was with a guy who I spent the night with and going to get del taco together wasn't what I wanted after 24 hours of no food prior. I wanted a grand slam and the waitress to call me sweetie. I shouted out for a sign of life but no reply and didn't want to find a dead body around the corner. So I left. There were cops at the location earlier on in the night. I wonder if I missed something

Now I'm here. Back in my room. Sorry for the whiplash. Over 24 hours later and at least I had like 4 fl oz of water. I can't get myself to drink more for some reason. You'd think after all this time I would be drowning myself with water but no. I'm perfectly okay being dehydrated. What bothers me more is having to be in a place where people are so cruel and I can't fucking live. Where I can't occupy space safely. Where I can't take care of myself and I'm unable to clean because I'm scolded and shamed for any trash production. Where I'm scolded and shamed for eating. And for my choice of food. And for my appearance. And for my whole ass fucking existence. I still haven't eaten. My body is twitching. At least I can sleep. People will shame me for choosing to rest without realizing I really don't get much in my little cage of a room. True rest feels impossible. I'm surviving. It's hard. I don't want to regret waking up tomorrow. What if I don't?
