Unspoken Bonds (Olivia Benson X Friend! Reader, Rafael Barba X Reader)
Request: Hello, there! I would like to request an Olivia Benson x Friend!Reader were reader and some friends in the alley near Olivia's apartment building. One day, after a fight with her boyfriend, reader is drinking beer in the spot she usually hangs out at, and Olivia talks her into going back into the apartment. They talk, and Olivia cooks her dinner. Olivia asks reader to join her some other time.
A/N: This request has been tweaked with the boyfriend but not boyfriend just someone the reader has been crushing on being Barba and the fight being him leaving the squad after his trial! I hope you like it so sorry it took so long!
--------------
The air in the alley was usually welcoming. The hushed whispers, the laughter.
Today it seemed quiet. Tense.
You walked, a frown on you face as you rushed into the bar. You were not by any means a drinker, but you always came with the squad to drink after a case.
You sighed. There was no one here today and you needed a drink.
Or two or three.
Earlier in the day, a heated argument had erupted between you and Rafael. He was found not guilty and yet instead of celebrating you found yourself even more upset.
He wanted to leave. Leave the DA's office. Leave the squad.
Leave you.
It angered you how you had supported him from the moment he pulled the plug and it had all been for nothing. The weight of the disagreement lingered heavily in the air as you found yourself drowning another drink.
You loved him.
Not that he knew, of course. To him, you were just a friend. Just a really good friend he would call every morning, text every night, laugh with, go on vacations with.
Just a friend.
The whole squad knew you had feeling for him beyond a silly crush. You hadn't wanted to tell him. You were certain he didn't have the same feelings for you. If he did he would have already made a move by now. It had been years since you had met. So many coffee meet-up, trial victory dinners and late night movies.
You scowled as you asked the bartender for another one, not noticing someone eyeing you from across the bar.
Olivia, ever perceptive, noticed the turmoil in your eyes when you walked into the bar. She decided to give you some space but kept a watchful eye. As the night wore on and the three drink became six it became apparent that you weren't going to bounce back from this one easily. Olivia knew how much you cared for Barba. She knew the how upset you were. From the moment you had come back from the courthouse and left with you jacket without saying a word, Olivia knew something was wrong. A call from Rafael confirmed her suspicions. Lots of things were said, lots of unpleasant ones and Olivia listened as he pleaded her to check up on you.
Which led to her quietly approaching you.
"Mind if I join you?" she asked, her tone a careful mix of concern and warmth.
You looked up, offering a small, sad smile. "Hey, Liv. Yeah, sure."
The two of you settled into a quiet corner, away from the prying eyes and the buzzing conversations. Olivia, familiar with the unsaid language of pain, waited for you to open up.
"He wants to leave, Liv," you finally spoke, your voice barely above a whisper. "After everything that happened with the trial, he just wants to start fresh. I can't wrap my head around it, Liv. We fought, and I don't know what to do."
Olivia's eyes softened, understanding the weight of your words. "He's worried about you, you know?"
You rolled your eyes. "Of course he is," you said, sarcasm lacing your voice.
"Why haven't you told him?"
Your eyes went wide as you looked up. "Liv I can't."
"Why not?" Came the careful pry.
You felt something wet on your cheek and you touched it, realizing you were crying.
You were immediately engulfed by a caring warmth. Olivia held you, as the tears continued to flow freely down your face.
"Let's get out of here," she whispered into your ear as she called over the bartender to pay your tab
You nodded as you pulled away, as you tried to wipe your tears away. "No Liv let me pay-"
"No, I think you've gone through enough today." As she glanced down at the receipt she looked over at you and couldn't help but laugh as she passed you the bill.
You looked at it.
Holy shit. 200 bucks.
"Still want to pay?" She asked with a grin and you cracked, giggling as you shook your head.
Olivia finished paying and you tried to get up but immediately felt the weight of the drink your had.
This is why I don't get drunk.
Olivia helped you towards her car, laughing the whole way as you tried to walk in a straight line.
After a five minute struggle you managed to get into her car.
"Is it okay if we go to my place?" Olivia asked.
Feeling a sense of comfort in her offer, you agreed, allowing Olivia to guide you back to her apartment.
Inside, the apartment felt like a sanctuary. She made sure you were comfortable, offering a safe space for you to unload the burden you had been carrying.
"So why haven't you told him?"
You sighed and let out a deep breath. "I don't know Liv. He probably doesn't even feel the same way. We've been friends for years and he's never show any interest beyond our friendship."
Olivia nodded, the conversation beginning to sound awfully familiar. "You won't know unless you tell him. Would you really just let him leave without telling him?"
"I-I-I don't know. Maybe?" You tried, stuttering.
Olivia raised her eyebrows. "Seriously?"
You threw your hands up in defeat. "Liv come oooon! That's not fair."
Olivia shook her head, "It's not fair to either of you."
You were quiet.
After a while, sensing the need for a change of tone, Olivia suggested, "How about I cook us some dinner? A little distraction might do us good."
You managed a weak smile, appreciating the effort to get your mind off it.
-----------
As Olivia moved around the kitchen, getting everything on the stove, she felt her phone vibrate.
A text message.
'Is she okay?'- Rafa
Olivia wiped you hand on a towel as she peaked her head and saw you had picked a book off herself and had begun to read it. She sighed before texting Rafael back.
'Yes but you need to tell her!'
A minute passed before a reply came.
'I will.'- Rafa
She smiled as she looked up at you form on the couch, engrossed in the book, before getting back to dinner.
-------
As the smell of food filled your nose you began to lose interest in the book you had grabbed from Liv's bookshelf. You stood up and placed it back in its spot before walking to the window, looking out at the city below.
You sighed, rubbing your eyes. You knew you had acted childishly. You knew going to the bar wouldn't and hadn't solved any of your problems.
You knew you had to tell him.
You checked your phone, having putting it on silence after storming out of Rafael's office.
70 new text messages and 20 missed calls.
A new text appeared before you could open the others.
'I'm sorry for today. I hurt you and I need to see you. Let me make this right. Please let me see you.'- Raf <3
Your heart skipped a beat but before you could text back Olivia called out, "Dinner's ready."
As you sat down to eat, the taste of Olivia's homemade dinner mingled with the shared silence made you anxious. She glanced up as your leg bounced erratically under the table.
"Are you ok-"
"He asked to see me!" You blurted out.
Olivia tried to hide her smile as she nodded. "And?"
"I'm going to tell him." You said with determination.
Olivia took a drink from her wine. "That's great. I'm glad."
You smiled as you texted Rafael back as Olivia took another bite from her food, trying to keep her composure as she felt her phone go off.
'Thank you Liv. I owe you a million.'- Rafa
Olivia looked up grinning and you grinned back.
"See my food makes everything better!" She joked.
You laughed. "Thank you Liv. Honestly you're such a good friend."
"It's what I do," She said with a smile as she began to think how she would tell the squad tomorrow.

-----------------------------
Tick Tock
Tick Tock
Another day...
Another beating.
Oh how you wish it would end.
“He came in drunk today,” you observed as he stumbled down the dimly-lit room, his movements unsteady and erratic. He weaved back and forth, struggling to maintain his balance with each unsteady step. His arms hung limply at his sides, and his shoulders were hunched. His glazed eyes searched the room, darting back and forth as if searching for something that eluded him and finally found yours. His breath was heavy and labored as he made his way over to the corner you were hunched over in. With each step, he stumbled and swayed, his feet scraping against the pavement as he fought to stay upright. He muttered to himself, his words slurred and indecipherable, and you closed you eyes ready for whatever it was he would do to you today. Your breath came in short, ragged gasps as you tried to calm the pounding of your heart. You were so tired and weak, there was no use in fighting anymore.
You braced yourself, ready for the blow, but it never came. You heard a loud thud and opened your eyes to see his limp body on the floor.
He had passed out.
You sat there frozen as it hit you.
You could escape.
You mustered all the strength you could as you stood up. He had gotten rid of the chains long ago, you had become to weak to fight back, so now with a deep breath, you made your way upstairs your heart pounding in your chest.
You knew you had to be careful, move quickly and quietly.
You were going to be free.
That thought gave you the strength to keep going, to push through the fear and uncertainty, and to make your way towards freedom.
------------------------------------
"We miss you! Where have you been?"
You were currently on a FaceTime call with Liv. You smiled hoping it didn't look too forced.
"I know I miss you guys too. I've been traveling. You know, just taking some time to explore the world and see new things."
Olivia looked skeptical. "Really? That's great, but it seems like a long time to be gone without a word."
You bit your lip, feeling the weight of the lie you were telling. "Yeah, I know. It's just been hard to stay in touch with everything going on you know with cell reception and all."
Olivia's expression softened. "Is everything okay, Y/N? You seem...different."
Your heart rate quickened. You weren't the best actor after all. You weren't ready to tell her.
Not yet.
"Liv I have to go, my...," you looked up and made it seem like someone was calling you, "uber ride just got got here and they're telling me to hurry."
Liv sighed before giving you a small smile, not fully convinced. "Alright. Call me when you come home."
"I will," you said before hanging up.
You sighed as you went back to the kitchen.
You were traveling...
but not they way you had told Liv.
You were hiding.
You weren't ready to face the world. Not after everything that had happened. You knew it wasn't you fault but yet...you felt as though it was all your fault.
You had stayed in this house for weeks after you had escaped. Every time you went out you felt dread and anxiety. You didn't trust the world anymore.
And so here you were, cleaning. You had spent weeks cleaning every inch of the house, wiping the grime off the walls and floors, dusting every piece of furniture, throwing out the food that had spoiled in the fridge. You had finally finished. You moved to the corner to pick up a dirty rag, and a sudden sense of dread grips you. You are hit with a flashback so strong it feels like you're living it all over again.
You're blindfolded, your hands tied behind your back. You're sitting on a cold, hard floor, and you can feel the rough texture of the blanket beneath you. You try to scream, but a gag is tied tightly around your mouth, suffocating you.
The memory is so vivid that it takes you a moment to realize it's not real. You're safe. You try to calm your shaky short breaths, but as you look around the room, everything starts to fall into place. The stains on the wall, the cracks in the ceiling, the position of the door, all match that room.
That room that had taken just about everything from you.
Your panic consumed you like a wildfire, burning hotter and higher with each passing moment. It was as if you were engulfed in flames, your body unable to find any respite from the searing heat. Your thoughts were like sparks flying in all directions, each one threatening to ignite another inferno within you. Your heart raced like a raging inferno, its beat erratic and unsteady. Sweat dripped down your face, as if your body was trying to extinguish the flames within. You felt like you were suffocating, the heat and smoke overwhelming your senses. You struggled to breathe, your throat parched and dry as if it had been scorched by the fire. Your mind raced with memories of the past, each one a scorching ember that threatened to ignite a new blaze of panic within you. You can't believe you're back here, in the same room where you endured so much pain and suffering. You feel like you're suffocating, just like you did when the gag was in your mouth.
You ran out of the house as if it were ablaze, your heart pounding in your chest. Once outside, you stumbled to a halt, gasping for air. But as you took in deep breaths, your lungs burned with each breath, and you coughed violently, as if trying to expel smoke from your body.
The world around you swirled, a dizzying blur of colors and shapes, as if you were still caught in the midst of the flames. You stumbled forward, trying to steady yourself, but your legs felt like they were made of rubber.
You leaned against a nearby tree, trying to catch your breath. Tears streamed down your face, stinging your eyes like smoke. You closed your eyes, trying to calm your racing heart and mind, but the memories of the past threatened to reignite the flames of panic within you.
Slowly, you regained control of your breathing, each inhale and exhale feeling less strained than the last. The smoke in your lungs dissipated, replaced by fresh air, and you felt a sense of relief wash over you.
You opened your eyes and looked around, taking in your surroundings with a renewed sense of clarity. You took a deep breath, and with each exhale, you let go of a little bit more of the fear and panic that had held you captive for so long.
It was time.
Time to finally say something.
Your heart raced as you dialed Olivia's number on your phone. You knew you couldn't keep the truth hidden forever.
When Olivia picked up the phone, you took a deep breath. "Hey, Liv," you said, your voice trembling slightly. "Can I tell you something?"
"Is everything okay?"
You hesitated. "Not really," you said, your voice barely above a whisper. "I just...I need to talk to someone. And I trust you."
You heard concern lace Liv's voice. "Of course, Y/N. Whatever you need, I'm here for you."
You took another deep breath, struggling to find the right words. "I...I haven't been honest with you, Liv. About why I've been gone for so long."
"What do you mean, Y/N? Where have you been? Are you okay? Do you need me to come tell get you?"
You shook your head. "I can't really say yet. But...something happened to me, Liv. Something I never thought would happen to me. And I'm ready to talk to someone about it."
You took a deep breath, gathering your courage to speak. "Liv, I need to tell you what happened." You could feel Liv's concern as she listened attentively. It felt like she was right there with you, even though you were miles apart. "I was held captive, Liv. For months. I was abused, tortured..." Your voice trailed off as tears welled up in your eyes. It was hard to relive the memories, but you knew you had to tell her. "I escaped, but I'm still dealing with the aftermath. The flashbacks, the panic attacks. It's like I'm still trapped in that place."
After you finish telling Olivia about what happened to you, she takes a deep breath and her voice hardens. "Y/N, I'm so sorry that happened to you. But I want you to know that you don't have to go through this alone. We will get you justice."
You can feel tears welling up in your eyes as she says those words. Justice is something you had never even considered as a possibility before. But with Olivia by your side, it feels as though it's within reach.
"Liv, I don't even know where to start," you say, feeling overwhelmed.
"It's okay, we'll figure it out together," she responds. "I know it's not going to be easy, but we have to try. You deserve justice, Y/N. And we're going to make sure you get it. Come home."
With Olivia's unwavering support, you feel a sense of hope for the first time in months.
You make your way to your car, a new sense of courage overtaking you. As you drove away, you heard the sound of raw and guttural pain carried through the air, distant yet distinct.
You were going to leave it all behind.
You smiled, knowing Liv would do everything she could to make sure you got justice.
Even if justice had already been served.
As you entered the highway, sirens blared past you, you looked at your rearview mirror, the large smoke clouds taking over most of the sky.
Justice had indeed been served.

The Lawyer's Daughter Chapter 8
Chapter 1 Chapter 2 Chapter 3 Chapter 4 Chapter 5 Chapter 6 Chapter 7 Chapter 8
A/N: I know it been a while but I hope this makes up for it.
-------------------------------------
Rafael felt frozen in place as he locked eyes with the man at the other side of the station.
He knew he should call the squad but he couldn't move.
The man gave him a sick smile as he nodded towards the departed train.
No.
Finally Rafael was able to reach for his phone on the bench but it was too late.
The next train had arrived.
They had already disappeared.
Rafael's heart raced as he realized he had let the man slip away. He could feel the weight of uneasiness bearing down on him as he stood there, staring at the empty platform. He had hesitated, just for a moment, and now the sick bastard was gone.
He cursed himself under his breath, angry at himself for just standing there. This wasn't just any criminal - this was someone dangerous, someone who posed a real threat to the city. He had a responsibility to catch him, to protect the people he had sworn to serve and defend.
But now, he had lost that chance.
As he stood there, lost in his thoughts, his phone buzzed in his hand. It was Olivia, his boss and closest friend on the squad.
"Rafael, where are you? You were due in court half an hour ago."
He took a deep breath, trying to steady himself before he spoke.
"I...I let him get away. The drug lord we've been tracking down. He was here, at the station, and I froze. He got on the train and...I couldn't stop him."
There was a pause on the other end of the line, and Rafael could almost sense Olivia's disappointment and frustration.
"Okay. We'll regroup and figure out our next move. Don't beat yourself up, Rafael. We'll catch him eventually."
Don't beat yourself up, Rafael.
Easier said than done. He let out a deep sigh, feeling defeated and helpless. But he knew he couldn't give up. He had to keep pushing, keep searching, even if it meant facing his own shortcomings and mistakes.
With a heavy heart, he headed back to the station, determined to make up for his failure and catch this man before it was too late and something bad happened.
-----------------------------
"Did you get a good look at him? Are you sure it was him?"
Rafael had returned to the station and was now recounting the team with details of what he had witnessed.
Rafael nodded his head. "Yes. He was wearing a black hoodie and jeans. He had this-this smile, I knew it was him. I think he knew I recognized him."
Benson nodded grimly. "We'll look into it. In the meantime, let's gather any surveillance footage from the station and see if we can track down any leads."
As the squad dispersed to work on the investigation, Rafael couldn't shake the feeling that something bad was going to happen. He knew what this man was capable of. Shootings. Bloodshed. Death. This man was not to be underestimate even if they hadn't heard anything for months.
Suddenly, his phone rang, snapping him from his thoughts.
It was an unknown number.
"Hello?" Rafael answered tentatively.
"Hey, Counselor," a chilling voice replied on the other end. "I hear you've been looking for me."
Rafael's blood ran cold as he recognized the voice of the man he had seen at the station.
"Where are you?" he demanded.
The man chuckled. "You'll find out soon enough. And let me give you a piece of advice. You might want to start preparing for some action. I feel like having fun today."
There was a loud bang before the line went dead, and Rafael instantly recognized it as a gunshot.
Where was he?
Benson walked over to him, concern etched on her face. "What's wrong?"
Rafael took a deep breath, trying to steady his nerves. "He just called me. The man I saw at the station. He knows we're looking for him and he just shot a gun somewhere."
Benson's expression hardened. "Alright. We need to move fast."
"Liv," Amanda hollered from her desk, "We're getting reports of gunfire at the Manhattan Grand Hotel."
Olivia exchanged a look with Rafael before looking back at Amanda. "Go. I'll call Narcotics and the Feds. Take as many as you can. We need all hands on deck."
-------------------------
Rafael's insisted on accompanying them. He felt a heavy sense of responsibility weighing on him for what had transpired at the train station. As the team prepared to leave, Olivia turned to him and firmly stated, "You shouldn't go." Her words carried a mix of concern and warning, knowing the danger that they were potentially walking into. Despite any initial hesitation, Olivia sighed and shook her head as she recognized Rafael's unwavering determination to make things right. She knew that once he had his mind set on something, it was nearly impossible to change his mind.
"Fine, but you're riding with me," said Olivia, with a sigh.
Rafael nodded. He may have gotten his way but he knew Olivia would make sure he stayed safe.
As they drove down the busy streets of New York City, the sirens of their squad car blaring in the background, Olivia started going over what he should and shouldn't do. She advised him to stay back and let the squad handle the investigation, warning him of the potential danger that lay ahead. But Rafael wasn't paying any attention, lost in his own thoughts.
He thought of the girl at the station.
She didn't even know what had happened after her train had left.
Just like the rest of the city.
And now they were all in danger.
Rafael couldn't help but shudder as he thought about the man responsible for all the chaos.
Carlos "El Diablo" Rodriguez.
He had seen some of the most dangerous criminals in his line of work, but this man was on a whole other level. His reputation preceded him; Rafael had heard whispers and rumors about his ruthlessness and the lengths he would go to protect his empire.
But it wasn't just the fear that made Rafael's blood run cold. It was the knowledge that this man was directly responsible for so much pain and suffering. Families torn apart, lives ruined, all in the name of profit. Rafael had always believed in justice, in upholding the law and protecting the innocent. Rodriguez represented everything he fought against.
And yet, as they drove deeper into the heart of the city, Rafael couldn't help but feel a strange sense of excitement. This was the moment he had been waiting for, the chance to take down one of the most powerful men in the criminal underworld. He knew it wouldn't be easy, but he was determined to see it through.
As they pulled up to the hotel, Rafael's eyes scanned the area, taking in every detail. He was determined to catch this son of a bitch.
There was a large crowd that was gathered around the entrance. As they made there way though the were bombarded with questions?
"Was someone targeted?"
"Who shot?"
"Why were they here?"
Carisi made way for Rafael and Olivia to pass. "We are investigating and as soon as we know something we'll let you all know," he said into the clamorous crowd before following them in. "So it looks like we have a kidnapping case."
"Do we know who was taken?" Olivia asked.
Carisi sighed, running a hand through his hair. "Yeah they took a couple that was staying here with their daughter."
There was a soft whimper that caught Rafael's attention.
There was in officer covering, what he assumed, was the daughter.
"Where are my parents!" she cried.
Rafael froze.
He knew that voice.
He had heard it earlier today.
The officer stepped aside and Rafael's fear was confirmed.
It was the girl.
The one from the train station.

What Was Never Meant to Be Part 3
Part 1 Part 2 Part 3 Part 4
*5 years later*
To say life had treated you well was an understatement.
You were living in the city of your dreams with the job of your dream.
And to top it all off you had a beautiful little girl.
Rosalie L/N.
She was the most beautiful child you had ever seen. She had clear blue eyes and light brown hair that covered her delicate face. When she smiled you could see her dimples that only showed how innocent and sweet she was.
She reminded you of her father.
His sweet smile.
You sighed.
It had been such a long time.
It almost seemed like a different life.
"You can't ever tell him any of this, Olivia," you say as she drops you off at your old apartment.
Olivia have you a soft smile.
"Of course Y/N."
Noah who has been asleep most of the ride gave you a little wave as you walked out of the car.
Even though you trusted Olivia you couldn't stay in New York.
It was just to painful.
As you walked into your apartment you could feel a wave of emotion run through you.
Damn pregnancy hormones.
Damn Sonny Carisi.
You spent the rest of the night crying as you looked for a start to your new life.
A new beginning.
------------------------
*Present*
"Mommy can we go get ice cream?"
Your daughter's sweet voice took you out of your trance.
"You haven't even ate dinner yet Rosalie."
Rosalie pouted.
You sighed. It was hard not to give in to that adorable pout.
"How about we go after dinner?"
"Yaaaaaay!" She hugged you before going off to play.
You smiled.
Everything was perfect.
You heard a knock on the door.
You wondered who it could be. You weren't expecting company.
You went to answer it.
You could not believe who was at the door.
Dominic Carisi
-------------------------------
To say he was stupid was an understatement.
Sonny felt like an idiot.
And rightfully so.
What kind of idiot kisses another girl when he has a financee?
Him.
It was a spur of the moment.
And yet it wasn't.
He knew he had some feelings for Amanda.
And yet he was still with you.
He had looked for you all over the venue and couldn't find you.
He knew then you had saw.
He immediately went home.
And then he saw your ring and your note.
He cried.
He knew he had broken your heart.
He knew you would never come back.
*Present*
"I've here before with my mom's friend," Noah said.
Sonny was babysitting for Olivia who had a last minute meeting.
"Oh yeah? That's cool," Sonny said absent-minded.
"Yeah she dropped her friend Y/N here when Uncle Fin had that party."
"That's grea-," Sonny paused and whipped his head towards Noah.
"What did you say?"
"Momma's friend Y/N. She lives here I think." Noah said.
"Noah tell me about Y/N and that day at the party," Sonny said trying to hide the nervous feeling rising in his chest.
"Why?"
Sonny grimaced. He didn't know exactly what to say.
"Because I was gonna get married with her and then I kissed Amanda"
Nope. That wouldn't fly.
"She was a good friend of mine and I haven't seen her in a while."
Noah was a bit skeptical at first but then Sonny offered to take him to the amusement park someday if he told him everything.
Nothing could prepare him for the guilt he felt after hearing Noah.
He could feel the tears already forming in his eyes as he clenched his fists in anger.
How could he have done this?
She never deserved to feel that kind of pain.
A small voice brought him back from his tultmotous mind.
"Oh and she had some weird things in her bag," Noah added.
"Oh?"
"She had little shoes. They kinda looked like baby shoes or something. I thought it was kinda weird."
Sonny eyes went wide as he felt his body start to shake.
No.
It couldn't be.
"Uncle Sonny?" Noah tugged his arm.
Sonny heard him but it was like he was far away as he fought the urge to start sobbing.
After a while he finally shakily managed to tell Noah, "Noah we're gonna go with your mom. I'm pretty sure her meeting is almost over."
--------------------
"Why? Why would you not tell me?"
"It wasn't my place."
"The hell it was! I have a kid and I never knew about!"
Olivia sighed. This conversation had escalated pretty quickly and she wasn't too happy.
She was amazed that her son had managed to still remember that night so long ago.
She was even more amazed he told Carisi.
"Carisi you're the one who kissed Amanda and if I'm not mistaken you did pursue her."
"It was stupid. I wasn't thinking. I didn't love her like I did Y/N."
At this point Olivia saw tears glistening down Carisi's face and she felt  wave of sadness wash over her.
It's so interesting how one mistake, one moment can cause so much pain.
"Tell me where she is," he said so quietly she almost missed it..
"I can't."
And with those words she saw her friend break.
He started sobbing and begging her to tell him. He got on his knees pleading to know where he could find the only thing that ever mattered in his life.
"Please Olivia Please," he sobbed, "I can't bear to live with this..this pain that has consumed me ever since that night. I was so stupid but you have to know I still love her please!"
At this point even she had tears in her eyes.
No one deserves to be this sad.
To live with that pain.
The punishment of a simple mistake.
Oh how cruel life is.
---------------
After Olivia told him how to find you Sonny wasted no time.
He felt a huge rush of different emotions.
He was excited to meet his daughter.
He was nervous to see you.
But most of all he was scared.
Scared because he knew there would never be anything that could make up the pain.
As he pulled up to the driveway of the address Olivia had given him he felt his heart thumping against his chest.
His feet feelt like lead as he walked to the front door.
His hand trembled as he knock.
It seemed like an eternity as he stood there waiting.
An eternity of pain and suffering.
And then...
the door opened.

If Only... Chapter 2
Chapter 1 Chapter 2 Chapter 3 Chapter 4 Chapter 5
This could not be happening.
Your head snapped in the direction of the voice.
And you felt your heart drop when you saw who it was.
Rafael Barba.
There he was standing with wide eyes as he made eye contact with you.
Everyone else had turned their attention towards him as they waited, the silence only seeming to make time go slower.
You silently prayed it was some kind of joke and he would burst out laughing and everything would be okay.
He opened his mouth to speak but nothing came out.
He looked like a deer in headlights. In any other situation, you would have laughed and taken a picture to show him later but right now you needed him to snap out of it.
You didn't even realize you were in front of him until you heard yourself ask, "Raf?"
"I-uh-I," he stammered unable to get any proper words out.
"Maybe you two should talk in the other room?" Aaron had appeared next to you out of nowhere.
You nodded before he gave you a reassuring smile and you all but dragged Rafael to a small room.
----------------------------------
"You want to tell me what's wrong?" you say demandingly.
"I-un don't know?" he said nervously avoiding your gaze.
Oh no, he doesn't, not this time.
"What do you mean I DON"T FREAKING KNOW? I WAS THREE SECONDS AWAY FROM BEING THE HAPPIEST GIRL ON EARTH AND THEN YOU FREAKING OBJECT LIKE AS IF-"
But you didn't get to finish that thought because someone was kissing you.
Not just anyone.
Rafael Freaking Barba
You immediately pushed him away in complete shock.
You were very surprised when you tried to speak and it came out as a whisper.
"What the heck was that."
He looked at you searching your eyes for something that you couldn't figure out.
"I love you."
The world had officially lost its mind.
"You lo-what?" you asked already overwhelmed.
"I always have. At first, I thought it must be a silly crush or that it was because we spent so much time together and I would grow out of it. But I didn't. In fact, I only loved you more. Day after day I told myself I would tell you but I was scared. I thought it would ruin our friendship. And I didn't want that. But as time passed I knew I couldn't live like this so I made a promise to myself to tell you. And I almost did. The day I graduated you were so happy and proud of me and I swore to myself I would tell you that day. But then-"
"I met Aaron," you said softly.
He gave you a sad smile.
"Yes. I saw the way you two hit it off and I knew I had lost my chance."
The two of you stood there in silence but your mind was anything but.
It all made sense now.
The extra affection, the comments about Aaron, the behavior from this morning.
He loved you.
You felt your eyes water.
Because the truth was that there had been a point in your life that you had fallen in love with him. You would have been more than happy to marry him. To start a family with him. To grow old with him.
But time had past and you had grown and he didn't need to know that right now.
You didn't know you were sobbing until you felt him hug you and whisper, "I'm so sorry," into your ear.
"You should have told me," you sobbed into his shoulder.
"I know I'm sorry."
The both of you just stood there and cried for a while.
"I thought about leaving."
Your eyes went wide as you pulled away from him.
"What?"
He took a deep breath, "It hurt. To see the two of you together. You were so happy. And it hurt. It hurt to see you every day knowing I would never be in his place. I wanted to be far away from you but I knew I couldn't leave you. And I knew you would hunt me down."
You gave a small laugh.
"Damn right I would have."
He chuckled.
He brushed his hand along your cheek and you shivered at the feeling.
"I know you don't feel the same way and for some strange reason, I'm okay with that. It just felt nice to get it off my chest."
This day just got weirder and weirder.
"And you just chose today right now out of all other times?" you said pretending to be upset but you really weren't.
He gave a huge grin before bursting in a fit of laughter and you laughed too.
"You always complain your life is boring. I'm just adding some action to it bonita."
You rolled your eyes and pushed him playfully.
"We should get back then."
He looked at you before grinning.
"You know that you're the prettiest woman ever but the makeup is making you look like La Llorona."
You laughed.
"Go get my bridesmaids. They'll make me look good as new."
Before he went he gave you a tight hug.
And you hugged him back just as tightly.
"You'll be okay?" you asked with a bit of worry.
You can't just make a confession like that and then just be okay.
He pulled away from you and kissed your forehead.
"I'll be okay," he paused, "but I hope your wedding will be okay. Aaron probably thinks I kidnapped you and all the guests probably hate me."
"Impossible."
He appreciated the sentiment but gave you the "you really want to bet?" look.
You laughed.
"Hurry up I would like to get married before the end of the day guapo," you said playfully.
"Okay okay. Your wish is my command bonita," he said as he rushed to get your bridesmaid.
-----------------------------
"Alright! You may kiss the bride!" the minister exclaimed as you kissed Aaron.
When you had come back the guests were confused but relieved that the ceremony would continue. Aaron had looked at you questionably but you only smiled and gave him the best "I'll tell you later" look you could. It would be an interesting conversation but all you wanted was to get married.
And here you were.
Aaron was beaming as he leaned in for another kiss before taking your hand and running down the aisle and everyone through petals in the air. As you ran you spotted Rafael and gave him a wide grin before throwing your bouquet at him. He caught it confused and you giggled before blowing a kiss and ran faster as he registered what it meant.
Today was full of surprises but you were happy that everything had turned out okay.

Attack (Barba X Reader)
Summary:  A mysterious phone call has Barba scared for your life.
Note: Mentions of violence and danger.
Remember to submit requests!
-------------------------------------------------------
Rafael's heart steadied back to its normal pace as the man left, leaving him panicked and scared for the first time in what seemed like forever. He immediately took out his phone and dialed your number. "L/N," came the reply. "Hey Y/N I um just wanted to know where you're at because I need to talk to you about something." "What is it?" you asked. "It's um something but I can't tell you over the phone," he said nervously. You could tell something was up by how nervous he sounded and because he used "um" which he uses when something has happened. You were currently at Starbucks with the squad having coffee. They all looked at you quizzically, intently trying to listen in. "Um ok sure I'll be over in a couple of minutes," you told him. "No don't come here. Tell me where you're at," he said. "I'm at Starbucks with the squad," you told him not understanding why he didn't want her to come over. A sigh of relief came from Rafael knowing you weren't alone. "Ok, I'll be right there bye". He walked as fast as he could all the way to Starbucks and was out of breath by the time he got there. As he went in he spotted the squad almost immediately at a booth by the window. Everyone was there. Except for you. Panicked, he walked over to the squad. "Where's Y/N?" he asked. "She just left for an emergency arraignment," Olivia told him. Rafael looked at her, "And you let her go by herself?!" he exclaimed. Everyone in the store looked in their direction. The squad gave questioning look as Olivia said," Um yes she's old enough to go to arraignment by herself," with a very sarcastic voice. "Why so worried about Y/N, counselor?" Carisi asked. Rafael took a glance around the store to make sure there was no one around before saying in a very quiet voice, "Someone threatened me just a little while ago and said he'd hurt her."
The whole squad looked at him their eyes wide with disbelief. For a couple of minutes, they all were silent taking in what Barba had just told him. Olivia breaking the silence told him, "Go to the courthouse and take Fin and Carisi with you and do not get separated. Get Y/N and come directly to the precinct. Am I clear?" Rafael nodded as he got up to leave. Fin and Carisi also did the same. They took a silent cab ride to the courthouse. Rafael wanted Y/N to be safe. If someone were to hurt her because of him he wouldn't be able to live with himself. Fin shook him by the shoulders. "Counselor we're here." They all got up and went inside the courthouse. Once inside Rafael asked the secretary what room Y/N was in. She told him and they all went to that room. Just as Liv had said she was there for arraignment. Just as you had finished you spotted Barba and the 2 detectives and gave a little wave as you walked toward them. "I hate when these things pop up during my breaks," you said. She spotted the serious looks of each of them. "Why the long faces?" you asked worriedly. Just as Rafael started to answer there were gunshots fired in the courtroom. You yelped as Rafael pulled you to the ground. "Stay down and don't move Counselors!" Carisi yelled taking out his gun. The man who was shooting was the man who had just been arraigned for the assault of two defense lawyers. The gunshots continued seeming never to end. You and Rafael had managed to get behind a bench to hide. Each time you heard a shot you flinched. Rafael noticed this and grabbed your hand. "Hey," he said, "Look at me" You looked at him. "What?" you said fearfully. Your eyes, he noticed was filled with fear. "Everything is going to be okay." You took a deep breath and nodded. You tried hard not to flinch but couldn't help it. Rafael finally couldn't take it anymore and wrapped his arms around you. You were surprised at his sudden affection but found it comforting. You buried your face in his shoulder in an attempt to stop hearing the shots which proved to not be helpful. You focused instead on Barba, taking in his scent of expensive cologne. His breathing was at a slow rhythm even though you could feel his heart racing. He still had a strong grip around you but you didn't mind. You felt safe in his arms. Then all went quiet in the courtroom. There were no more shots or screaming or yelling. You tried to pull out of Rafael's arms but he shook his head. "I'll look," he whispered. He glanced up and saw Carisi walking over to them. He looked battered with slight bruises on his cheek. "Hey counselors," he greeted calmly as if nothing had happened. "Carisi what happened?" you asked finally being able to pull out of Barba's arm after he saw everything was alright. "The man thought he could get away with it but had another thing coming at him. Guess you won't be prosecuting him anymore Y/N," Carisi answered. You gave him a small smile, "Guess not". "We should head down to the station with Liv and everyone," Carisi said. Rafael nodded, "Yeah that would be a good idea." Then he looked at you and you saw fear and sadness in his eyes. "I'm sorry Y/N I should have been here to protect you," tears started to fall from his face, "If anything would've happened to you I don't know what I would've done." You wrapped your arms around him and pulled him close to you. "Shh, It's okay. Everything is going to be fine. I will always be here." For a moment you could only hear his heavy breathing before you heard something so soft and sweet you almost missed it. "I love you Y/N." "I love you too Rafa."

Lunch date (Barba X Reader)
Summary: Someone forgets about lunch plans and so you suggest a race.
Reposted from my Wattpad @ADepaz2021
Don’t forget to put in requests!
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
You were really nervous as you stepped into the SVU precinct. You wondered what would you expect and if the people would like you. Still, you felt determined to be confident as you walked into the office where you could see all the detectives sitting around a table apparently having lunch. Olivia was the first one to spot you which was a relief to you to see a familiar face because you had bumped into her earlier that day. "Hey Y/N! We were just lunching and I thought you could come after but this works." She said and almost instantly you feel eyes watching you intently, with curiosity. Olivia, feeling the detectives watching you, turned to face them and introduced you to them. "OK everyone this is our new ADA Y/N L/N who will be working with Barba as another DA for SVU." You gave a tiny wave as you nervously said, "Hi." Everyone smiled at you warmly and welcoming before a tall blond man stood, giving her a warm smile before saying, "It's a pleasure to meet you Ms. L/N, I'm detective Dominick Carisi but everyone calls me Sonny." You blushed at being called Ms. L/N you weren't used to it and it felt too formal for the occasion and said to Carisi, "Please, call me Y/N." Carisi beamed, "Alright Y/N it is" One by one each of the other detectives introduced themselves to her. After the introductions Fin said to her, "Let's just hope Barba doesn't go too hard on you" The guys laughed while the others rolled their eyes. Liv looked at her watch then at the door. "Anyone know where Barba is?" she asked. "He said he would be here to lunch with us but I don't see any sign of him showing up. Everyone shrugged their shoulders before you suddenly realized why he hadn't shown up. "Oh I think he's waiting for me!" you exclaimed, panicking. "I better get going but pleasure meeting you all," you waved to the squad and headed out to the DA's office. ------------------------------------------------ You were out of breath as she arrived at Rafael Barba's office where you tried to catch your breath as you knocked firmly on the door. "Come in!" a voice said behind the door. You walked in, still tired from the run you had had. As you walked in you saw a brown-haired man in a dress shirt with the top buttons undone, a tie loosened from his neck, completely absorbed into whatever paper he was reading. You cleared your throat to state your presence and the man looked up and you stared into his emerald green eyes as he looked into your e/c ones. "You must be Miss Y/n L/n, my new partner," he said getting up, and reached out his hand to shake yours, "I'm Rafael Barba". "What's with everyone being so formal?" you thought as you let out a tiny laugh at your thought. "May I ask what is so funny?" he asked raising his eyebrows. You blushed fiercely as you replied, "Everyone's so formal around here using Miss." He thought about it before saying, "I guess you're right. If we are going to be working together every day then being formal every time we meet would be unreasonable." "That's actually exactly what I was thinking," you said. He chuckled and said extending out his hand for a second time, "So let's try that again. A pleasure to meet you Y/n." You shook his hand and took a good look at his face. He had a very handsome face with his green eyes sparkling back at you, he had smile lines but it didn't make him look older. You smiled at him and he politely returned it back. For a moment you both stared at each other before you heard what sounded like a stomach growl coming from Rafael. You giggled as you said, "Weren't planning on eating lunch I presume Counselor?"
Rafael blushed, slightly embarrassed before suddenly remembering his lunch plans. "I was supposed to meet the squad for lunch. How could I forget?" he said running his hands through his neat brown hair. "I think they are still eating because I went down there first before here and they were still eating so you still could be able to reach them if we hurry," You told him. Rafael glanced at you with a mischievous smile before saying,"I'll race you there". "You are so on," You said challenging. "Ready?" "Set?" "GO!" you both said as you ran out of the District Attorney's everyone looking at both of you like you were crazy but neither of you cared. ------------------------------------------------------ By the time you both arrived at the station, you were pretty much exhausted. "I win," Barba said panting. "Absolutely not. You cheated," you said as you tried to catch your breath. "I did not," he said smiling. "Yes you did Barba you took a turn on that one street while I went straight and then you reappeared in front of me a couple of blocks after me!" you exclaimed. "I used strategy," he said. "Whatever. I touched the door first before you pushed me," you remarked. He thought about it for a minute before saying, "Fine you win." "You bet I did," you said smugly. He laughed, "Winner gets dinner at their choice of restaurant." You gawked, "Seriously?" "Yes." Just then you noticed the squad staring at the both of you. Your face flushed as you gave a little wave, "Hey guys." "I'm glad you could both make it even though we finished lunch," Olivia said with a smile. Barba groaned, "Great now what are we going to eat?" An idea suddenly popped into your mind, "We should go out for lunch instead of dinner." His face brightened, "Excellent idea!" "Well, I'll leave you both. See you both later?" Olivia asked. "Yeah," you replied. As she left you looked at Rafael with a huge grin on your face. "I'll race you to the Italian place on the corner." He smirked back at you, "You're on."

Late Night Fights (Barba X Reader)
Note: I'm really bad at summaries so bear with me lol
Summary: Barba has fight with reader and regrets it and tries to drown down his regret with drinks.
----------------------------------------------------
Barba didn't know what to do. After his fight with you, he just needed to get away from all of this. As he walked down the street he thought of you. He wasn't sure why he thought of you. Lately, everything he thought was about you. Maybe it was your smile. Or maybe it was the way you laughed. Or the way you had confidence in every case. Your stubbornness in getting what you thought was best. The way you seemed to stand five feet taller when you were serious. It may even be your e/c eyes that said everything without you having to talk. The way they sparkled and glowed when you were happy. He smiled at himself thinking of you. You were beautiful. Barba shook his head. "I don't deserve her," He thought, "And after tonight she'll probably never come back". Sighing at his thoughts he kept walking down 63rd street until he suddenly stopped in front of a bar. He knew he shouldn't go in but something inside him urged him to go in. Finally, he opened the door and let himself in.
------------------------------------------------    "Bullseye!" Barba exclaimed as he took another swig from his scotch. He was playing darts with the men there betting on who would win and the loser would have to pay their stub.    "Impossible! That's the 3rd one in a row!" One of the men, Bill said.     Barba smiled proudly before saying, "Pay up".    Bill, mad that he had lost, reluctantly gave Barba the cash to pay his drinks.    As Barba got up to get another drink he saw it was no longer light outside. He looked at his watch but was too drunk to tell the time so instead pulled out his phone to look at the time. It was 12:30 pm. He had been at the bar for 6 hours. He needed to get home before he ended up spending the night there. He went towards the counter and called over the bartender.     "Here's my pay," He said tiredly. The bartender took the money and went on his way. Barba knew he should take a cab but it would be a bit hard to find at wee hours of the morning. "Y/n", he thought as he pulled out his phone and called you.     "Hullo?" A tired voice asked.     "Hey, could you come and pick me up at that one bar on 63rd street?" He asked her.      "Barba? What the heck are you...," your voice trailed off for a moment before you said," I'll be there in five minutes," And then hung up. Rafael knew you would get mad at him but that didn't concern him at the time. He sat outside the bar on a bench waiting for you to come. Soon enough after about 5 minutes, a silver Nissan Rogue pulled up in front of him. You saw Barba sitting at the bench and helped him walk to the car. He could hardly stand on his own let alone walk. He was more wasted than anything else in the world. As you both continued your walk to the car Barba all of a sudden put a hand over his mouth. You stepped away from him as he vomited over the street. You both then tied again to walk to the car. Once he was in the car you asked him," Where do you live so I can drop you off?"     Barba stared at you for a moment trying to remember this one simple thing but it was useless trying when he was drunk.     "I don't remember," He said with a hiccup," take me with you". You find Barba's comment amusing and laugh."Very funny Barba but you're drunk"     Rafael was quiet for a moment before saying," I really don't remember Y/n".   You, seeing he wasn't lying, sighed before starting the car and drove towards your apartment on Central Boulevard.     When they got there you helped the still dazed but in better conditions Rafael Barba up to the apartment room. After you opened the door Barba "walked" himself to the couch falling on it heavily while you took off your jacket and shoes. Then you joined him on the couch.   "Rafael I know it may not be the time to discuss this with you but..." Your voice trailed off.     "What is it?" Barba asked knowing you only used his first name if it was something serious.    "After you left, the Chicago DA's office contacted me and offered me a job offer."     Barba all of a sudden becoming somewhat sober enough, asked, "To which you said no right?"     You sighed, "Rafael it's a good offer to me I'd be closer to home."     "But you do fine here and giving up your job here in Manhattan and it wouldn't be a wise decision."     "I know but lately we haven't been getting along and I just don't think it healthy for us to be by each other." You stated quietly.     "You know I didn't mean what I said earlier Y/n? I'm sorry I didn't think about what I was saying" Barba said regretting for the 50th time everything he said to you but this time with more desperation.     You nodded,"I know, but I just think this is a good opportunity that might never come back again."     Rafael looked at you analyzing the possibility of you being anywhere that wasn't with him in the Manhattan DA's office. He didn't want you to go. He wanted you to stay. But not because you was one heck of a good ADA but because he felt something towards you that you needed to know more than ever. Rafael Barba was in love with you F/n L/n. He realized it was a now or never moment and he wasn't going to let you go. You made him get up every morning and go to the office. You were the reason he gave all his effort into every case. You were the person who made him smile and forget about anything else in the world. It was all you. He put his hands on your waist and said quietly, “No Y/n you can’t go because I love you” before pressing his lips on yours. The kiss was soft and gentle. Even though Barba was drunk he knew exactly what he was doing. You pulled away looking away from him. He turned you back to face him. Your lips were trembling but it wasn't because you were scared. It was because you loved him. You loved him so much it was taking every ounce of energy not to leave and instead stay with him forever.   “Barba you should go to sleep it’s getting late,” you say your voice breaking halfway.    “Y/n” he said.    “Rafael” she said quietly.    “Please don't go. I love you more than I have loved anyone else and I will do whatever it takes to make you stay,” he said as he brought you in for another kiss. When they pulled away he saw sadness in you eyes but before he could say or do anything you got up and went to a different room and shut the door behind you. Barba’s mind felt fuzzy and light as he layed down on the couch trying to get comfortable knowing that he needed to get some sleep. But each time he tried to drift his mind went to how sad you looked when you kissed. ------------------------------------------------
“Barba,” you said shaking him awake,” Barba! Wake up!”    “Hm?” he asks sounding tired.    “Get up it’s almost ten o'clock!” you exclaimed.    Barba sat up and stretched. “It’s Saturday.”    You looked at him for what seemed forever before he laughed at you. Your cheeks turned cherry red as you walked to the kitchen embarrassed on the matter of fact that you didn’t know what day you were living in. He followed you into the kitchen.   “It happens to everyone,” he tells you and tries to wrap his arms around from behind you but you don't let him.   “Of course it does,” you responded as you reached for the container of coffee.  “Coffee?” she asked him.   “Sure.”   “Dark or light?”   “Dark” Barba said pausing for a moment,” Are you still going to quit?”  “I um..don't know yet,” you told him dropping some off the coffee on the counter. Both you and he reached for the napkins at the same time causing your hands to brush against each other. He took your hand and look straight into your eyes using his other hand to caress your cheek.   “I love you,” he told you with so much sincerity and gentleness. You looked everywhere but at him. But you knew you loved him. He ran his hand from your cheek to your chin.   “Y/n?” he asked you. You finally looked at him knowing that you simply couldn't fight it off anymore.   "I promise I won't hurt you”, he said quietly. Both of you stared at each other’s eyes for a brief moment before he pulled you towards him and kissed you. It was amazing how one simple thing could cause so many emotions to flood. It was full of love and promise. You both kept kissing each other before Rafael lifted you up and looked at you for what seemed like forever before lightly kissing you on the top of your forehead.  “I’m in love with you F/n M/n L/n and I will do anything to keep you even if it means telling the whole office that I love you at the top of my lungs,” he told you.   You giggled at him. “ I love you too Rafael Barba and I will stay because I love you,” you said before pulling his tie making him jerk forward and placing a kiss on his lips then pushed him away. He laughed at you. You yawned showing how tired you were. You moved your head slightly so that you were facing his chest and snuggled against him. He also yawned so he made his way to your bedroom and saw that you were fast asleep in his arms. He lightly placed you on the bed careful not to wake you. Right when he was about to leave the room he heard a delicate voice from behind him   “Raf,” you said quietly, "Stay”.    He smiled at you, “Are you sure?”  “Yeah hurry up before I change my mind,” you said playfully. Rafael chuckled as he made his way to the bed and you scooted over making space for him to lay next to her. He wrapped his arms around your waist as you snuggled beside him. “I don't deserve her or having her with me now,” he thought as both of your breathings steadied at the same pace. He kissed the top of your forehead before falling into a deep sleep.

Job Interview Part 1 (Barba X Reader)
Summary: You get a special new job opportunity and meet your potential (hot) coworker.
Part 1 Part 2
---------------------------
"So now that you're a graduated law student you think you can run this place?" Your friend F/n asks referring to the apartment the two of you shared. You laughed. You loved how F/n had their own sense of humor. Of course, it went too far sometimes but they were still a good person. "Of course not F/n and don't forget I'm second in charge anyways so I already have more power than you" "Oh, I'm sorry I forget that you’re the boss' girlfriend," F/n said mockingly referring to the rich handsome man who owned the building and was often asking you to dates. You turned beet red at F/N comment. "You know I'm not F/L/N," you said seriously. "Sure but it's bound to happen one of these days have you seen the way you guys look at each other?" "Shut up F/n!" you exclaimed as you threw a pillow at them. The pillow hit them right in the face as they recovered from the sudden reaction. At that moment you hear your phone ring from across the room. "I bet it's your boyfriend asking if everything's alright," F/n says to you teasingly. You throw them a glare as you grab your phone and answer, "Hello?" A voice that sounds like an old man asks, "Is this Y/n?" "Definitely not your boyfriend," F/n mutters disappointedly. "Um yes that is me," you respond while shooting F/n a shut-up glare. "Hi, I'm Robert Stone. Would you be interested in coming in by my office later for a job offer?" "Job offer for?" "I'm looking for a replacement for an Assistant District Attorney here in Manhattan and well, you interested me as a candidate" You were surprised that this man was considering you as Assistant District Attorney. Especially considering the fact that you were freshly out of college. You pondered on it for a moment before saying, "Sure I'd love to." "I'll see you at 3 then," Robert told you before he hung up. You glanced at the clock. It was 1:45. You had about an hour to get ready. By the time you were done, it was about 2:35. You glanced at yourself in the mirror one last time before leaving. You thought about taking your motorcycle and we're thankful you had decided to wear office dress pants that day. You grabbed your helmet and rode all the way to the District Attorney's office. Once there you stood in front of the building just looking at it in awe knowing good things were in store for you. You confidently walked in. It was busy inside with people barking orders and others running errands and delivering papers. At the front desk, there was a woman at the desk busy with a phone call. You waited patiently until she was done. "How may I help you?" the woman asked you. "Hi, I was looking for Robert Stone's office. I'm here for an interview." "Oh yes! Of course!" she said joyfully, "The fifth floor, go down the hall, first door to your left." "Thank you so much," you said and headed off to the office. Once you got there you stood in front of the door about to knock but stopped when you heard raised voices from the other side. "Robert she's lying! Her story has many flaws there is almost no proof Prussner raped her" one voice said. "Even if she is lying what evidence do we have to connect him to the rape?" the other voice, Robert said. "He was there at the bar the night of the rape," the first voice who now had a name, Barba said. "Get more solid evidence and see where it takes you. Now go I have a meeting in a little while." "Meeting with who?" Barba asked with evident curiosity in his voice. "With people," Robert responded flatly. "About?" Barba pressed. Robert sighed, "If it'll make you go away I'm meeting with someone to be your second chair." There was deep silence before Barba said, "Oh. I forgot all about that." "Well the case isn't going to solve itself now, is it? Go!" You walked back towards the wall so the door wouldn't hit you. The door swung open and out walked a man. He looked a bit older but not too much and had a handsome face. He noticed you by the wall and smiled at you. "You must be the person meeting Robert for his meeting." You found his smile incredibly charming as you answered, "Yes that's me." "I'm Rafael Barba. I'm the attorney for SVU. If you're lucky you'll be working with me." he said extending his hand out for a handshake. You smiled and shook his hand, " I'm Y/n L/n, and wish me luck in there." Rafael gave a small chuckle before leaning in towards you and whispered, "I hope he picks you," and you felt chills down your back as he left. Your noticed Robert at the doorway shaking his head.
"That boy will never learn." You blushed before Robert invited you into his office. "So Miss L/n how are you today?" was Robert's first question. "I'm doing well thank you." "I know you just got out of law school but I was hoping to get some fresh new eyes around here. You have lots of potentials, Miss Y/n and I can see that best put out here in the office." You gawked at what Robert had just said. He wanted YOU to work here. "I um don't know what to say." You said to him truthfully. Robert chuckled, "Yes I would like the job would be a nice answer." You smiled at him and said just that. ------------------------------------------------------ You walked out of the DA's office full of excitement. You had a job! You smiled and hummed softly to yourself as you walked to the elevator. After a moment the elevator dinged and the doors opened. You waited as people got out before stepping in yourself. You surveyed the place around you know you'd be here tomorrow as you hit the first-floor button. Right as the door was about to close you heard a voice say, "Hold the door!" You put her arm out to stop the door and saw who the voice belonged to. Rafael Barba broke out into a smile when he saw you at the elevator and you couldn't help but smile back at the handsome man. "Well how'd it go?" he asked you as you both stepped into the elevator. "It went," you said to him with no emotion in your voice. "What do you mean it went?" he asked obviously curious to know if you had the job or not. You shrugged deciding to tease him, "Oh you know the interview just, happened and we talked but nothing happened at all." you paused to glance at Rafael's face to see impatience plastered all over his face. "How adorable," you thought to yourself. "Well, as in what?" his voice growing impatient. At that moment the elevator doors opened to the main floor. You smiled and walked out in direction of the exit. Rafael had to jog to catch up with you. "Are you going to tell me?" he asked. "I'd love to but I have to be somewhere," you said knowing it would annoy the man. Rafael actually looked very annoyed. He thought for a moment and grinned mischievously before saying, "Well if you're not busy later we could go out to dinner and talk." You gawked at his proposal obviously not expecting him to come back like that. Determined to keep up your act you said, "I would like that actually." "Ok meet me here at 8?" "Ok" you replied as you walked towards the parking lot with a huge smile on your face.

Birthday (Carisi X Reader)
Summary:  Another busy day in New York except that today is not just any normal day...
--------------------------------
Traffic in New York is a pain.
Everyone knew this and yet people still thought they could be on time during rush hour. Of course, that was a lie. Walking wasn't a very good idea either but it was better than traffic. With walking, you could only hope no one would run you over as you crossed the street.
Today was one of those days you had slept in. In any other normal city, you could easily rush to work with no obstacles. But it wasn't a normal city and there were obstacles. Welcome to New York.
"Great I'm going to be late. There is no way I can nake it on time," you thought as you tried to dress presentful without looking like someone who rolled out of bed. When you were satisfied with how you looked you grabbed your keys and left your apartment to work. As you walked outside your phone rang.
"Hello?"
"Morning Y/n," a cheerful voice answered.
You couldn't help but smile at the voice that belonged to Detective Carisi. It was no secret that you had an enormous crush on him. That is to anyone but him. The both of you were very close friends but you felt something more towards him. You were afraid to tell him because you weren't sure he felt the same way about you.
"Morning Carisi," you responded back with a smile.
"So Lui is wondering where you are 'cause we thought you were coming with us this morning for coffee."
Right. You were going to get coffee with them today.
"Oh um can you tell Liv I'm running a little late?" you asked him.
"Sure. Don't worry about it," Carisi told you.
"Okay, thanks. See you later."
"Bye."
After you hung up you yet again, debated on taking a taxi or walking. Traffic still didn't look friendly enough to be in a taxi so you walked.
On your way to the station, you decided to stop for coffee since you were not going to be able to catch up with the rest of the squad for coffee. As you ordered you spotted Barba sitting at a table with coffee. He glanced up and saw you and you approached him.
"Hey weren't you supposed to go out for coffee with them?" he asked you.
"Yeah I woke up a little late so I couldn't," you explained to him, pausing before saying, "Weren't you supposed to go too?"
"I couldn't because I had an errand to run this morning," he said simply before taking a drink of coffee.
"That's weird. Barba never misses coffee with us. Plus what errand did he have to get done so early in the morning? You thought to yourself. Probably some court stuff before work. You glanced at your watch realizing you needed to start heading towards the station if you wanted to get there at a decent time.
"Well I'll see you later then," you said to him getting ready to leave but as you turned around he grabbed your wrist.
"Actually Liv just texted me that there's a problem at the courthouse and she wants you to come with me," he said.
Confused you checked your phone to see if she had texted you but the screen was blank.
"Well she didn't-," you were cut off by Barba who grabbed your arm and said, "Come on we have to go."
"Okay Mr. Grabby I heard you, chillax with the grip," you said to him as you tried to pull out.
He chuckled as he let you go, "Just making sure your coming". As you both walked out you could have sworn that in the distance you saw Carisi with a huge red bundle walking towards the coffee shop but quickly dismissed it when Barba engaged you in conversation. ------------------------------------------------------ "Picking up some papers? That was the big emergency?" you asked frustrated as Barba received the papers he had requested.
"Not just any papers. They are case papers," he said.
"That you could have literally picked up by yourself."
"Well it wasn't my call it was-," he was cut off by the ring of his phone.
"Thank God you finally called I can't stand her any longer," he said pretending to be annoyed," Okay we're on our way".
"What's up?" you asked.
"We have to go to the station. There's a little surprise waiting for you."
------------------------------------------------------ "This better is worth all this running around," you say as you both walk into the station.
"SURPRISE!" the squad exclaims as they throw confetti at you which causes you to jump.
"Holy cow. You all scared me," you say as you clutch your chest recovering from the scare it gave you.
"We didn't mean to scare you!" Liv said as she pulled you into a hug.
"What is this all about?" you asked as Olivia let you out of her embrace, confused as to why they had planned this for you.
She looked at you confused. "Isn't it your birthday today?"
You were quiet for a moment as it dawned on you. You had been so busy lately you had completely forgotten about your own birthday.
"I forgot about my own birthday," you said quietly.
"That's what we're here for," Amanda said hitting your arm lightly, "to keep you on track and make sure you don't marry your job."
"That's so sweet of you guys. Thank you so much," you said happily.
Someone behind you cleared their throat making you turn around.
Standing there was Carisi holding a huge bunch of red roses.
"Happy Birthday to the most brilliant, beautiful woman ever," he said as he handed you the roses.
"Thank you so much," you said as you felt your cheeks heat up.
He smiled before saying, "I have one more present for you," he said as he enlaced his hand with yours, "Y/n I have had the honor of being with you for so long but I have felt something I have never felt before and the truth is that I love you more than anything in the word and I would love for you to be my girlfriend."
You stood there shocked not being able to believe what had just happened.
"You know, I think he's waiting for an answer," Barba said to you.
You glared at him before turning back to Carisi and saying, "Yes I would love that!"
He smiled as he pulled you into a hug as whispered so only you could hear, "I love you."
You pulled him for a kiss. This was by far the best birthday present ever.

Lost (Carisi X Reader)
Summary:  After falling off your bike trail you realize you are lost but luckily a cute blond stops to help you.
Accepting requests!
-------------------------------------------------------
You woke up not knowing where you were or how you had gotten there. Actually, you couldn't remember any of the events right before you opened your eyes. No wait you had been hiking with some friends and you had fallen off the trail and apparently rolled all the way to the bottom. Yep, this was a great situation to be in. You sat up looking around you. You saw you were surrounded by trees. From the distance, you could hear cars passing by. You figured that if there were cars there were people and that they would help her. Finding a highway took longer than you expected. You walked to where the sounds were coming from. Cars sped by while you stood there at the side not knowing what to do. You saw a gas station on the other side. Going there seemed like a good idea to get help. Maybe, someone, there could help you find whoever you had been with. You started walking to the other side not noticing the black car speeding towards you. You tried to hurry, seeing that the car had no intention of stopping but you tripped on your shoelace that had somehow gotten untied. You stumbled trying to catch yourself but failed as you hit the hard concrete highway. The car screeched to a stop right before hitting you. You let out a sigh of relief as you tried to stand up. A man got out of the black car running his fingers through his blonde hair. He saw you struggle to get up and went over to help you. "Are you alright?" He asked you with a thick accent sounding concerned. "I'm fine," you responded. "I'm so sorry!" He told you," I was busy picking up my phone and then I didn't see you I'm so sorry." You smiled. "It's fine I should have been watching where I was going." Both of them were silent not knowing what to say or do. You glanced up at the man and stared into his light blue eyes. He was a very good-looking man. After what seemed like forever the man said, "So where are you heading to?" You blanked out. You hadn't been expecting anyone to ask you that. "I um don't know," The man looked at you puzzled. "What do you mean you don't know?" "I was hiking with some friends and kinda got off-trail." The man carefully chose his words, "Are you lost?" "I guess you could say that." "Maybe we should take you down to the police station." You shook her head, "Actually can you just give me a ride to a hotel or something?" "Well you're a bit far from any hotel but if you want I live a little ways away so you could stay there for the night." You frowned at the man. "Not trying to be offensive but you haven't even told me your name is. For all I know is you could be an ax murderer or something". The man laughed. "You're absolutely right. The name's Dominick Carisi but everyone calls me Sonny and I can assure you I'm not anything you just listed." "Sure that's what they all say," you said. Just then there was a rumble of loud thunder and it began to rain. "We should probably get outta the rain. Wouldn't want you to get sick," Sonny said. You stood there thinking about all your possible choices. You could go with Sonny or stand here in the rain. Sonny seemed to be waiting for you. By now you were soaking wet from head to toe. Sonny took a jacket from his car and put it around your shivering frame. "I won't bite I promise," he said. You can seem to process why you trusted the cute man but yet you smile and get into the car.

First Day (Carisi X Reader)
Request: *Can you make a a sonny Carisi  x reader where she is a new detective to the unit and he falls in love with her when they meet. Sorry I'm not good at this but I would love a story like that!*
I hope you like it!
Part 1 Part 2
------------------------
It was the first day of your new job at SVU. You were a transfer from Narcotics and you were glad to be in a new department. You had worked with them before and had decided that you would be better there than in Narcotics. You were ready for a new change.
That morning you had decided to stop for coffee at your favorite coffeehouse. As you were in line you spotted a tall man with blonde hair right in front of you. He seemed frustrated with the length of the line. But there was just something about him that captivated you.
Suddenly he turned around and your eyes met. You held his gaze for while and then looked away realizing how long you had stared at him. You looked away embarrassed to think that now you looked weird because of how long you had stared.
There was a sudden tap on your shoulder and your whole body flinched and your drifted mind came back to the present and was met with those blue eyes again.
"Hi, there! This is gonna sound a little weird but I feel like I've seen you before but I don't remember where," he said in a cheerful tone, his annoyance with the long line disappeared.
You tilted your head in confusion. You would certainly remember seeing him before. He was too cute to miss (😉).
What? Too cute? Get yourself together Y/N! You thought to yourself as your mind continue to search for any memory of meeting the blue-eyed man.
"I really don't recall meeting you," you said to him.
It was his turn to tilt his head at you. After a moment his eyes lit up as he looked at you with a huge smile that you swore made you melt a little on the inside.
Right when he was about to say something the barista called to him and you both realized that the never-ending line had gone through a lot faster than expected.
He gave you a glance before turning back to order a simple coffee with lots of whipped cream. You couldn't help but smile because that was what you ordered all the time.
If you both came to this coffee shop then how was it possible you had not seen him before?
Right when you were about to ask him your phone rang. You quickly pulled at your phone and saw the caller ID: Olivia Benson.
Shoot. So much for finding out who this mystery man was.
"Hello?"
"Y/L/N. I know I was going to introduce you and give you a run-through of the department but we just got a new case and I need you to go interview the victim at the scene at Central Park. I will have Detective Carisi meet you there."
"I'm on my way Captain"
With that, you hung up sighed, and looked up to the blue-eyed man whose phone went off. You were annoyed with yourself for not remembering if you had seen this man and annoyed at the world for not having enough time to talk and hear what he had been about to say. With a puff, you ordered your coffee and watched as he got his coffee, still on the phone, and rushed out.
You felt disappointed because he had left you hanging like that and sighed as the barista gave you your drink. When you opened the door you saw that the man was standing by the pole in front of the shop. Your heart fluttered as you saw he was making his way toward you.
He gave you a bright smile as he said "You're Y/N right? You worked a case with us. You're from Narcotics?"
You blinked and your mind raced to find that memory and you finally remembered who the blue-eyed accented man was.
This time you smiled at him.
"Yeah! And you detective Carisi? I remember you brought cannolis for everyone!"
He chuckled lightly as he ran his fingers through his blond hair, "That's me. Liv just called to let me know that I was supposed to meet you at Central Park but seeing that we are both here together I figured we can catch a ride together?"
You could literally not believe that a) you forgot who this handsome man was and b) you were going to be working together. Your head was flooded with so many thoughts before you heard him call your name.
"Um what?" you asked sheepishly.
"I was asking if you want to ride together"
You nodded.
He smiled again and you knew you would never get tired of seeing it. He opened the passenger side door.
"Your chariot to our adventure awaits milady," he said as he did a small bow.
You giggled at his gesture and got in. After he got in he turned to you and smiled before saying "You can call me Sonny if you want"
"Sonny," you said testing out how easily it rolled off your tongue "Thanks for a good first day"
He laughed before saying "Hopefully we will have good days all the time"
You blushed before playfully hitting his arm.
You were sure you would.

No Matter the Cost (Fin X OC Character)
Request: *Will you a tutuola and OC where OC is a victim of a rape and Tutuola is a long time friend of oc and he helps them figure out who did this to them*
Okay this was hard to write because I've never written anything for Fin before so if it doesn't vibe well to his character I apologize in advance.
Warnings: mentions of rape, anxiety, depression, angst, very slight mention of suicide and self harm
*If you are not comfortable with those warnings DO NOT READ!*
Part 1 Part 2
----------------------------
Ella couldn't breathe.
She couldn't move.
It was like if she had a switch and everything had been turned off.
She wished she could just sleep and never wake up.
Ella wished more than anything that she would have never gone out to get food at 11pm.
It was stupid. Why would she go out so late on a weekend no less when she knew how dangerous the area was at night.
All for some dumb tacos.
Ella tried to focus on anything else that wasn't the man touching her.
It was disgusting. Horrible and vile.
I wish it would end.
Please be over soon.
As the dark hooded man finished, you felt yourself slipping away.
It'll be over soon. -------------------
When Ella woke she saw the sun pouring into the blinds of her apartment and could hear the traffic outside.
Just another day in New York.
But nothing is normal anymore.
Will it ever be?
As she got up she saw herself covered in some blood and semen.
Disgusting
Her head was pounding and she felt sore from the bottom half of her body.
He had left you naked on the bed. He hadn't even covered her up.
Animal
She stood up and felt dizzy and grabbed ahold of the wall as she walked towards her mirror.
She was horrified with what she saw.
So many bruises.
Bitemarks.
Scratches.
They're everywhere.
All of a sudden she felt her chest tighten and she couldn't breathe. Her vision started to blur as she felt herself start to hyperventilate. She felt herself slide down the wall and she sobbed.
How could I be so dumb?
She felt her body twitch and shake as she started screaming between her sobs.
It felt like an eternity before she was able to calm down. She glanced up and saw a picture on her dresser.
It was a picture of her and her best friend. They were laughing at the camera.
Why can't everything go back to that?
Ella knew what she had to do but she dreaded it. She felt so drained. What was the point if nothing could ever take that disgusting feeling away from her?
What was the point to keep going anymore?
Ella grabbed her phone and took a few deep breaths before calling the only person who could help her.
"Hello?" came a gruff voice on the phone.
"Fin I was raped please help me" --------------------
"Who the hell did this?"
Ella almost jumped out of her skin. She hadn't heard him come in. She had hung up and cried.
"I-I don't know" she said weakly.
That only seemed to make him more upset.
As he walked around your room that was now a crime scene you could see an anger in him you had never seen before.
Well of course he's upset. How could you be so stupid?
Ella felt her eyes water again. She walked out of the room. She couldn't bear to stand next to her best friend right now. He was probably so disappointed in her.
Who wouldn't be?
She let out a shaky sob as she felt herself fall apart again.
She felt a pair of arms engulf her as she continued to cry.
"Shhh" came a familiar voice.
"It's okay. I promise we're gonna nail the bastard that did this"
"You're n-not ma-ad wi-th me?" She hiccups between sobs.
Fin pulled her gently so she was looking at him.
"Of course not. I would never ever be mad at you especially with this. Don't you ever think I am okay?"
This only made her cry harder as she grabbed his shoulders as an anchor.
To her he was her anchor. Always has been and always would. Ever since they were kids he had promised her that he would always be there for her. She trusted him. If he said they would get the piece of junk who did this then they would.
She knew he would.
---------------- Fin's POV
The moment he heard he say she had been raped he felt as if someone had torn out his heart from his chest.
How? How did this happen?
He immediately went to Liv's office and told her. Ella was important to him. She was family to him.
Liv understood. It seemed to happen too much around the station.
He felt deflated as he drove to her apartment.
But most of all he was angry.
How could he let this happen?
----------------- As he stepped in her apartment he began to feel uneasy.
But then he saw her. She was in a corner outside her room while other officers were processing the scene.
She looked so small and frail.
The strong confident happy woman he knew was gone.
And it was all his fault.
"Who the hell did this?"
He saw her flinch at his voice.
He mentally kicked himself.
Stupid. Why would he just go at her like that? She looked up at him and Fin saw the hurt in your eyes and he felt his stomach churn.
"I-I don't know" she said weakly.
This should have never ever happened.
He clenched his hands into fist trying to keep his cool around her. The last thing she needed was a hole in her wall or a long string of cursing.
Instead he walked around her room examined the scene. There was blood all over her the foot of her bed.
Fin took a deep inhale to try and calm down. He was going to get this SOB and made sure he paid for what he did to her. Ella didn't deserve any of this and it was all because he couldn't protect her.
He looked back at the doorway and saw Ella had disappeared. He immediately began to panic and thought the worst. He knew victims that went into dark places in their minds after an assault.
He walked out of the room to look for he when he heard sniffling coming from the other room.
He raced and saw her sobbing in a corner.
He went over and wrapped his arms around her trying to bring her back to him.
He tried to comfort her the best he could.
"Shhh" he said gently.
He felt her erratic breathing and wished he could take this pain away from you.
He gently rubbed her back in comfort as he said softly, "It's okay. I promise we're gonna nail the bastard that did this"
Fin could still hear your sobs and he had never felt more useless in his life.
He had always been the tough guy. At work and in life. But it was so hard now. His best friend since third grade. His partner in crime. She was so broken.
"You're n-not ma-ad wi-th me?" She hiccup.
Fin swore he felt his heart tear in two.
He could never be mad at someone he loved so much with everything he had.
He lifted her chin up gently so she could look at him.
"Of course not. I would never ever be mad at you especially with this. Don't you ever think I am okay?" He said with all the care he could put into words.
She looked away and for a moment he thought she didn't believe him but was relieved when he felt put her arms around his shoulders.
She started to sob again and he silently made a promise as he continued to hold her.
He would get the man who did this to you no matter the cost.
This was my first time writing something like this character and plot wise so sorry if it's bad. I would really appreciate feedback!
