No you know what this is stupid. Elder dragons are fictional video game characters who exist to serve a narrative because this is how characters work, and they also happen to be plot devices half the time. They're also enemies in this game because that's how the narrative works out.
But frankly I don't care what's going on in the fictional realm here, whats TRULY silly in this rabbit hole I've gotten myself is all the times i am reading this person essentially calling the players of this video game parasitic sheeple and assorted other vile accusations related to mental illness because players dare to, shocker, do what the game tells them to do in order to receive a reward, because this is what games do and what players tend to want. This does not make players bad people. Meta and event bosses are also divorced from the actual narrative context in the sense that they are more game than story even if Anet has done very well in combining them. Meta bosses being dragons jusr does not mean the people who made the video game hate dragons and want players to hate all dragons in existence
And ok I haven't slept in many hours and I am probably as incomprehensible but I just. Cannot take this shit. A video game telling people to kill a fictional dragon for a pixel reward is not the same as indoctrinating people into hurting othered and marginalized people I am losing my mind here

The thing about the fandom’s interpretation of Data and Pulaski is that it makes both characters extremely flat and boring while also erasing their whole relationship. Data’s made into this flawless, naive baby that can’t defend himself (when he does - when Pulaski mispronounces his name, he tells her exactly why she should pronounce it correctly), while Pulaski is an ugly bitch-hag who is morally reprehensible. Most fanfics portray Data as being uncomfortable or scared of her, while Pulaski’s chomping at the bit to break him into parts. Their whole relationship in season two is based around the fact they both have flaws, and that Data is still learning about what exactly he is capable of as an android.
In “Elementary, My Dear Data”, the big question of the episode is if Data can solve a narrative mystery without it being based on his knowledge of the original stories. Geordi doesn’t know the answer. Pulaski doesn’t. Data doesn’t. From what they know of Data, Pulaski outright dismisses the possibility that Data can, which sparks the episode’s plot.
So when Geordi goes back later and prompts the computer to alter the program to be more challenging, both Data and Pulaski are excited! They want to see where this goes! They are openly having fun with this.
Tumblr media
In her first episode, Pulaski dismissed Data when he tried to stay during Troi’s labour, and only relented when Troi said she wanted him there. But by “Penpals”, she assures Sarjenka that Data will be at her side the whole time. When Data expresses doubts, she assures him that this is what’s best for Sarjenka, but that his memories of her will still be important. This is also the same episode where Pulaski defends both her and Data’s personal involvement in the situation to Worf.
Tumblr media
In “Measure of A Man”, the game opens with some of the crew playing a poker game. Data and Pulaski are obviously friendly and comfortable enough to socialize together outside of professional circumstances. And again, the scene shows Data calling the game simplistic and assuming he will win, but he turns out to be wrong.
Tumblr media
Later in Peak Performance”, Pulaski sets up Data to compete in Strategema, only for him to end up losing, to everyone’s surprise. The reason why Data’s confidence falls is because he had the exact same assumption about his computational abilities as Pulaski. They were both wrong! When she sees how much losing has affected him, she apologizes:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Data says that he must be malfunctioning. It’s not until Picard tells him that failure can happen even when you do everything right that Data accepts he can make mistakes - and that making mistakes is okay! By the end of the episode, they both know that Data is not infallible, and that he can be affected by failure as much as any human.
Pulaski makes assumptions and mistakes, and so does Data. They learn and grow from them, and their relationship is overall a very positive one despite their very different personalities. It’s an interesting dynamic that gets rewritten by fans entirely, despite the fact that it’s weirdly one of the more developed dynamics in the show.

damn remember when Daniel said "I'm trying to shift the development of the car, it doesn't feel right, I've driven winning cars before, they're not supposed to feel like that lol" and when he said "Lando is lucky this is the only car he's ever driven bc he's used to it, but something about it is off" and then in August Seidl said "Daniel's input isn't changing our development" and now Seidl has left and the technical director has also left and the chief aerodynamist has also left bc the stakeholders are angry that they kept creating shitty cars that only 1 person seems to be able to drive and now Christian Horner sitting ON THE SAME COUCH AS ZAK BROWN LOOKED DIRECTLY INTO THE LENS OF CAMERA AND SAID "yeah uh lol- Daniel was doing mad weird things on the sim ??? that's probably the weird habits you pick up trying to adjust to a shitty "limited" car concept instead of having a good concept match a great driver... anyway, his sim work is actually great now that we got him to unlearn that shit he picked up in the orange gulag lmao"

I think on this fine Saturday afternoon it's a good opportunity to take a breather and remember that there are really no ethical paparazzi pictures. Every single one is inherently exploitative.
Just because photos were taken on a movie set, when someone is 'working,' does not make the practice any less invasive and creepy. Imagine just going about your day, doing your job and having some weirdo snapping pictures of you to sell without your consent for others to endlessly repost online.
There are thousands of pictures of your favourite actor online already. Plenty taken with his knowledge and consent. I'd really like to see more of them on my dash, rather than the creeper shots.
And don't get me started how disseminating these pictures directly leads to people going to said sets. What starts off as admiring how good someone looks has real world implications.
No, hanging around a movie set and disrupting people doing their jobs is not harmless fun or a way to show your appreciation.
If you hang around a movie set, you are a stalker.
Don't tell me that it's okay to take your online admiration for someone offline. You may admire him but he does not, and will never, personally know you. He will never be your friend/boyfriend/daddy. He is a stranger.
The only way meeting your favourite actor is going to happen is at a convention or maaaaaybe a movie premiere if you're incredibly fortunate. You know, places they appear specifically to meet fans (or not in the case of premieres, where the purpose is to promote a movie. Which is also completely understandable if actors don't stop. You are not owed an interaction).
Of course, you cannot help it if you randomly run into someone you admire in the wild. Even then, consider that they probably won't be all too thrilled to be approached in public by a complete stranger. It's up to you to gauge the situation, but remember there is a person at the heart of all of this.
Boundaries and respect are a kindness which deserves to be extended to each and every human being regardless of their looks/talent/fame/wealth.
Fandoms blur those lines a little too often for my liking and I think just scrutinising what you're interacting with, or what behaviour you could be possibly falling down that slippery slope towards is nice to do every once in a while.
I mean no malice with this post and it is not directed at anyone in particular. It's something I cannot help but feel strongly about because I've seen this destructive cycle time and again in fandoms over the years. It's not healthy and it makes us all a little bit more disconnected from our humanity for it...
#not naming names but....... screw it#pedro pascal#pedro pascal fandom#accepting you will never interact with or meet this man will set you free from misery and jealousy i promise#he's great! if you think he's great watch another movie! write about a character! edit some photos of him! make gifs!#there are many MANY ways to engage with his work which don't include reposting creepy invasive photos taken without his consent#it's bs that this is just 'part of the job' because WHY... why should it be any different than any other job??#i know we always venerate talent and put people on pedestals.... that's a tale as old as time#but seeing him blow up last year was wild to witness and some of the behaviour from newer fans is very disheartening to see#he's just a human who poops and farts and is a dick sometimes like the rest of us. let's not treat him like a god thanks#spud rants#a lot LOL#i've bottled this up for a bit because the way this developed in real time to people actually going to the set is. what#and don't 'if pedro was in your city' because NO??? i wouldn't STALK SOMEONE? there's 0 justification for it#i have far better things to do than stalk people#i may be an autistic flop but i'm not a CREEPY STALKER autistic flop thanks x#anyway like i said this is truly not @ anyone in particular and i don't think you are a terrible person if you interacted with the photos#but please just remember there is a person at the heart of all this#a very talented and attractive person yes... but a person all the same#i would truly hate to be famous it gives me so much anxiety just the thought of the constant scrutiny#good thing i never will be LOL#fandom wank#discourse

You know what!?!?!
I don’t want to see Cody before TBB finale
Why? You might ask
Well it’s because of the overwhelming sense of dread that has been growing within me the closer we get to the end
If he isn’t there…then he can’t be harmed and I can live in blissful ignorance

NOnonono but the entire point of the promise Sans makes to Toriel about "protecting the human coming through the door". Is that he really doesn't know who she is beyond the conversations they've had so far. And he doesn't know who the human coming out from there is. But they still trust each other to make it happen, regardless of timeline.
This happens regardless of Toriel's fate in the game. If you kill her, but not Papyrus, he still comments on this promise.
And here's the thing. He has to make the decision of trusting this woman he is fond of, but ultimately doesn't know beyond what they've shared together.
And Toriel had to make the decision of trusting him too. She is convinved that the world outside the Ruins will be hostile, because she knows what's happened before. And it fucking hurts to think it could happen again. And yeah I've heard all about it how she "rejected" her duty and didn't make the right choice back then. I think Toriel is somewhat aware of that. Her moving to the Ruins was a choice she made while grieving too, but it is a decsion that goes according to her integrity as well.
ANYWAYS I'm getting sidetracked. What I mean with this post is that the implications of trusting someone else with something that is so personal, because you know your limitations (because of flaws or any other cause), and having that person receive this in a good way is so important.
And while Sans is not the best at actively doing that job, it is still remarkable how much this promise is on his mind.
The VERY LAST THING he does before his No Mery fight is apologizing to Toriel, or his memory of her, because he had to break that promise.
This post is a mess but... I need to rotate them. And also I always get a little mad when people assume that Sans doesn't make that promise when Toriel dies, like in No-Mercy. Because the whole deal about the promise is that it happens before the game, it is not something anyone, not even Flowey, can affect, and it is a reflection of the closeness the two have, so placing this as something Toriel does only if she deems the human a good person, and something Sans only "keeps" when Frisk is pacifist just takes away that weight.
Also go play neutral routes they're super interesting to make character analysis. Different events affect different characters in specific ways.

Y’ALL JUST HEAR ME OUT.
How many times has anyone watched episode 4 where at the end Kaya kisses Usopp goodbye? That WHOLE scene has me dying for one specific reason.
Yes. Zoro is awkward. He looks away. They all do. But the WHOLE time even when Luffy and Nami start talking and she says, “Let them have this one.” He is STILL looking uncomfortable and nervous. Like, what is even affection?? What even is kissing???
I know they are supposed to be between 17-19 when they all first meet, but after watching this scene over and over again, and finding this video, y’all cannot tell me that Zoro has 1) had a girlfriend 2) has kissed someone. Because that boy is so nervous just from WATCHING A KISS. It’s giving cute fuckin inexperienced in the ways of affection and life and I can’t deal. He’s so soft and such a baby. A BABY.
This is why when I write for him he pushes back at any sort of affection or he struggles to say or do the right thing, feeling wise. He’s inexperienced when it comes to relationships and what is the right thing to say. Even in episode two, he says “I don’t talk. I hit things.” If He’s about to profess some type of feelings prepare yourself for a messy and confusing ride cause it’s going to have a lot of starts and stops and heavy sighing mixed in with throat clearing.
Attached is a video I came across from a Brazilian fan account for One Piece that literally just focuses on him the whole time during the kiss. You can try and tell me I’m wrong but 🤷🏽‍♀️🙃🙃🫠 I’m officially in on that idea.

IF THEY WOULD, THEY COULD!
To the left, recent UK made Star Princess bodices worn in the UK and in Asia. To the right, new UK made bodices, also worn in the UK and Asia.
ROW 1: Claire Lyon in the World Tour revival, and Lucy St Louis in the West End revival
ROW 2: Pan Hangwei in Beijing, and Lucy St Louis in the West End revival
ROW 3: Lucy St Louis in the filmed West End fitting, and Son Eun Hye in the Seoul revival
ROW 4: Holly-Anne Hull in the UK Tour revival and early West End revival, and Lily Kerhoas, West End revival
ROW 5: Claire Lyon in the World Tour revival, and Kown Ga Min in the Seoul revival
I am not shaming the individual wearers. They are beautiful and talented and put on the assigned costume. I am also not shaming the individual costume makers. They make what they are asked to make. Chances are some of these bodices were even made by the same costume makers. I am shaming the decision of going from what reflects on Maria Bjørnson's rich design, to stripped-down, half-assed bodices which sometimes doesn't even seem to be properly fitted to the actress.
OK, so the general audience may not notice. But for example in photos it is quite visible. You can do better. The column to the left is a proof you both CAN and HAVE done better. As it is now some fan replicas looks a lot better than the stage equivalent. I'm not sure that's what you want. Just... up the game goddamnit!

Daisuke's Notes on Venom's Concept and Design:
Like Millia, he was raised in the Assassin's Guild from an early age. He adores Zato.
He was set up to be a long-reach character and flier. I wondered what kind of character I should make. Originally, he had a cello. He actually had a fan for a weapon before Anji did. He also had a large cross, which I thought was the best concept, however, we were told that it was OK to have it as a part of his design, but not to hit anyone with it. When I was struggling, I went out to play games as a distraction. One time, as we were playing billiards, we talked about how interesting it would be to have a fighter who fights with a pool cue. But I thought the character would be too boring with just the cue alone, so I made it so that his hair also covered his face and added a mark on it with a bit of paint. Since the head had such a strong personality, I wanted to keep the body simple. However, I wanted to change the overall shape of the body to make it similar to Zato's, so that's why the legs are like that. As for the pants design, if I wanted to keep it simple, I would have made each leg the same color, but that would've made his figure appear more naked. To find a way around this, I made one leg light and the other dark to add more of a mysterious flair.

Fire Lord Zuko and Iroh
One thing that will never sit well with me in regard to the post-war Avatar: The Last Airbender world, especially as presented in the comics series, is the fact that Iroh gets so easily out of the mess of reforming Fire Nation and have relative happy ending, while 17 years old Fire Lord Zuko is left to deal with all the political shitty nightmare on his own.
And look, I get the storytelling goal of the new generation stepping in and “repairing” the world the previous generation fucked up and all. But Zuko is not just forced to undo damage done by his father’s six years of regime or Sozin and Azulon, but by Iroh as well, because Iroh was part of the Fire Nation set to conquer other people. It was Iroh that besiege a Ba Sing Sai for 600 days - it was him who joked about burning the city to ashes in his letter to beloved family - and who didn’t finish the task only because his son died, with little regard to how many of Fire Nation soldiers or Earth Kingdom soldiers and civilians was killed through the almost two years because he had once a vision he will take the Ba Sing Sai.
Zuko’s formal education ended at the age of 13,  when his father burned his face and banished to chase Avatar that no one saw for hundred years already. Sure, the animation series showed that Iroh was teaching his nephew both firebending and what makes one a good leader but what Zuko experienced and learned during his banishment is not exactly the equivalent of political knowledge he will need as Fire Lord who must find a way to rehabilitate Fire Nation in the eyes of the world but also figure out how to reform an imperialistic and military country into peaceful society with stable economy. A country that saw him as disgrace and traitor not so long ago, mind you.
And as much I see a merit in Iroh’s decision to pass the throne to Zuko - the Avatar’s friend and firebending master, him choosing tea shop over Zuko is just so fucking wrong to me. Iroh literally admitted Zuko was like a son to him in the first season and spent the next one trying to keep his nephew safe from their horrible family and other dangers and I’m supposed to believe when Zuko officially became Fire Lord with not only political nightmare to solve peacefully but also his abusive father to keep an eye on* and younger sister with mental breakdown, Iroh just… washed his hands from those problems so he could enjoy tea and Pai Sho game in peace? In Ba Sing Sai of all possible places with no consequence? Like, seriously?
Legend of Korra strongly implies Zuko did a good job and had a healthy relationship with his family, as both Fire Lord Izumi and General Iroh II seem to be fine people on their own. Which is great and nice! But does Zuko really need to deal with problems created by his predecessors all by himself where there is alive Iroh, the actually fully trained, educated Crown Prince to help him get a grip of the political matters at least in the first few years of Zuko’s rule? I really want to know what Iroh was thinking? Give a throne to Zuko and hope the boy will survive all the assassination attempts and magically figure out how to deal with the consequences of war that lasted for 100 years?
I like Iroh but I’m not blind to his flaws and him being part of White Lotus should not be a free pass from the problems he helped create in the first place.
*Aang finding a way to stop Ozai without killing him is great for him and I’m happy he managed to do so while staying true to his own culture but he is not the one that is left to deal with Ozai for upcoming years. Taking Ozai’s bending doesn’t magically erase his abuse toward Zuko and Azula and the man still has political supporters that made Zuko’s life much harder and more dangerous than the kid deserves.

Tw: pedophilia, grooming
I will never understand the hoops certain people jump through to justify including minors in vore, whether it's minors in the community, or underage characters in art/stories.
Even if you argue that vore isn't a fetish (which it is), and it's for comfort (which I understand), why include minors? Why do real life or fictional children need to be included in vore? Does that not feel wrong? How can you look at that and think "hmm, yeah, thats ok in every sense of the word"???
And even if you are ok with that shit somehow, don't fucking post it and display it to the whole world like everyone else is a creep! Keep it to yourself and get genuine, professional help though therapy.

I apologize for ranting but I think my biggest issue with the Ron being alive thing being real is that it turns q!BBH and Ron's relationship into some kind of "enemies to friends" (actually saw a youtube comment saying that) thing. Which...makes me extremely uncomfortable on so many levels.
Like q!BBH is an abuser, he tortured Ron and then basically gave him Stockholm syndrom by changing his demeanor. All he gets for it is a slap on the wrist as Ron completely forgives him and actually THRIVES because of it.
The idea of q!BBH somehow kidnapping Ron being seen as a good thing bc now Ron is free is something that I don't want to be true.
I already feel massively uncomfortable with people putting q!BBH and Ron's relationship in a wholesome light so for it to be canonized would sour the entire pot for me.
Even if Ron somehow gets hurt by the Federation, all it does is turn q!BBH and Ron into some kind of tragic friendship were somehow the FEDS were the bad guys for trying to search Ron.
Again Minecraft RP and all that but it would make me way too uncomfortable to enjoy his POV again.

Wolverine #48 Spoilers (and also heavy ranting):
It was boring.
Somehow, even LESS happened than the past two issues.
I mean, what even is the plot at this point? What are the character motivations?
Laura made her grand escape, which was nice. But also, why would Graydon or "Bad Seed" even be interested in her in the first place?
His main interest is his father, yes?
I guess he does hate mutants in general, but if I were him, I would've intentionally let her escape so she could lead me to the main fight.
Also, what was even the point of attacking the bears? Logan literally said "don't kill them" and immediately stabbed one. Master hunter-tracker wild man couldn't go around? lead them away? Bears are generally skittish and don't really go out of their way to attack people unless provoked. UNLESS they're food-conditioned by raiding dumpsters and such, but this is in the middle of nowhere in Alaska. There's no people food to eat.
Logan disabled one -- which is usually a death sentence in the wild by the way. And that's assuming it ran away after Logan did that. But usually they would fight back after fucking stabbing them.
Nekra fucking flipped one and presumably knocked it out (???) Third Eye put the third one to sleep.
Also also, grizzly bears are solitary. If that was supposed to be a mother and two cubs, the cubs are WAY too big to be with their mama still.
Those bears were depicted as well-muscled/well-fed/basically NOT starving at all. They wouldn't be that attack-happy over a fish (maybe a bit protective over a huge carcass, but my point still stands). I mean, assuming you don't walk right up to them! They'd make some bear threats first, in which an experienced hunter with keen animal-like senses *cough cough* would know to back off.
Keep your distance and you're good. They literally had to walk quite a distance further for that stupid bunker. Literally just go around. No need for this.
I'm sorry, this isn't how bears work at all. They can be territorial, but an experienced woodsman would know how to avoid the conflict. Especially since they weren't even caught unaware by said bears.
And the narrative around Logan remains redundant:
Tumblr media
When will I be free of this?
THEY DO THIS EVERY TIME HE LOSES HIS HEALING FACTOR!
Last time he went on an introspective monologue like this, he went on a grand death tour and got got encased in molten adamantium! Then Laura became Wolverine :)
But they do this every time. Nothing about these plot choices are original, or even a fresh retelling of a Wolverine-esque story. It's not even vaguely interesting. At best, they're the safe choice, but I think its just lazy and lacks direction.
How the fuck is it a relief? How the fuck are you a "walking carcass?" You don't even have that cool eye scar anymore.
Also, your fucking son had a healing factor and STILL died. How do you think he feels about that, hm?
It irritates me especially because Aki isn't even mentioned beyond those preview pages. For all that shock value they did, and he still ends up being a passing thought.
I am repeatedly banging my head against a wall, I swear.
(Send Aurora in to smack him around a little. It's greatly needed).
Anyway, Laura made her grand escape by lowerng defenses to alert the sentinels and Bad Seed Graydon was able to hack them. X-Force was also alerted to the situation and Black Tom is using his veg powers to grow a rescue ship.
I guess this could lead up to a Graydon vs. Laura situation? Kid vs kid? But I don't know anymore. The plot is all over the place.
Creed ended up being encased in a sort of psuedo-egg as well, but burst out of it.
Tumblr media
We don't see anything beyond that, but maybe he was transformed somehow? Maybe he's weaker? stronger? who knows.
I am disappointed. I wanted the seed to do something a bit more than this. There's still time, I guess. But I remain disappointed for now.
MAJOR MAJOR SPOILER PAGE:
Tumblr media
The armor makes its first appearance.
And because fuck it, we're getting a muramasa blade too.
I hate it here.
Hurry up with all of the ressurections. I stand even firmer in my belief that this Sabretooth War should count as one of those "Orchis Purges" and Aki, and all the other dead mutants should be ressurected as such from the White Hot Room. Graydon was able to hijack one, its close enough! We don't need to argue semantics here, just ressurect everyone please and thank you
