One Month Following Their Decision...
“I think she and Kakashi-sensei are dating,” Sori announced one day, a month or so after their teacher and her “friend” started spending more time together than usual.
Ayato rolled her eyes as she rewrapped her hands. “Sori, there’s no way they’re dating. You’ve heard her complain about Genma asking her out all the time. She doesn’t have time.”
Tashiro nodded in agreement, whittling away at a stick he was sharpening. But Sori shook his head, crossing his arms over his chest like a child. “Kakashi-sensei is always hanging out with us now though! Why else would he do that if they aren’t dating?”
“Maybe because two of his team members left the village and the other is training with the hokage?” Tashiro offered as an explanation, not looking up from his task at hand. “I bet Kakashi’s bored and she feels bad for him.”
“You really think she pities the Copy Ninja?” Sori questioned, brow raised. Both ninjas shrugged indifferently, returning to their tasks. Sory huffed in frustration, throwing his hands in the air.
“If you really think they’re dating, then go follow her around,” Tashiro suggested, though he had a sly grin on his face. Ayato elbowed him, giving him a pointed and knowing look: he was trying to instigate. He was always trying to instigate.
And Sori always fell for it.
“That’s a genius idea, Tashi!” He exclaimed excitedly, pointing at his teammate. “We can practice our reconnaissance skills –sensei is always complaining about how bad we are at being stealthy. She can’t be mad if we’re practicing.”
“Sori, that’s a terrible idea,” Ayato argued, shaking her head. “She’ll be mad because we’re prying into her personal life –and have you met Kakashi-sensei? He’s like the epitome of private! We don’t even know what he looks like!”
“Do you think she’s seen his face?” Tashiro inquired, and Ayato glared at him.
“Stop it, Tashi.”
“It’s a fair question, I think,” Tashiro countered, finally looking up at them. “I’m in.”
“C’mon, Ayato! It’ll be fun. And you know you’re curious.”
Their conversation continued in the secluded corner of the training grounds, hidden from the prying eyes and ears of the village. The trio of young ninjas had developed a close bond during their time as Kakashi's students, and now, with their beloved sensei's behavior piquing their curiosity, they couldn't resist the urge to investigate further. Sori's excitement was palpable, and Tashiro's mischievous grin only grew wider.
Ayato sighed in resignation, realizing that there was no stopping their impulsive plan now. With a resigned shake of her head, she agreed, "Fine, but we need a plan. And if we get caught, you better have a good excuse."
Tashiro eagerly leaned in, taking charge of the planning. "We'll split up, each of us tailing one of them separately. We won't get too close, just enough to observe. If anything seems...intimate, we back off. Agreed?"
Sori and Ayato nodded reluctantly, recognizing the importance of discretion in this mission. The prospect of seeing Kakashi-sensei's face was an added incentive, but the risk of being caught and reprimanded by their sensei was enough to be worried. She was scary when she was mad; more so when she was mad at them.
The next day, they put their plan into action, keeping a careful eye on their two teachers. Sori followed Kakashi as he made his way through the village, feeling the weight of responsibility mixed with the thrill of espionage. Ayato and Tashiro took positions to follow her, discreetly observing her without attracting attention. It was their day off from training; she had told the three to take a break and relax before they were sent on their next mission. It was a shame she had no idea they were on their own mission.
The hours passed, and the trio's stealth skills were put to the test as they moved silently through the village. When they met up –when Kakashi and her ended up at a dumpling stand to eat –the three hid out together to share their observations. Despite the secrecy of their mission, the observation turned into a strange mixture of suspense and amusement, especially as they realized the lengths Kakashi went to in order to maintain his indifferent image. He wore his mask even during their private moments, leaving the true nature of his expressions a mystery. It was hard to determine just what the two jonin were talking about, or how he was looking at her with the mask on. It was clear she was giving him looks, but the team had definitely picked up on her crush on Kakashi long ago.
As the day unfolded, their curiosity only deepened. They watched as Kakashi and their sensei laughed together, shared meals, and engaged in quiet conversations. It was evident that there was a strong connection between the two, but they always seemed that way. There wasn’t really that big of a change between the two. They ate together, they talked together. She touched him a little more than they remembered, but none of them thought that was anything important. He wasn’t touching her back, so it could be that she was still crushing on the Copy Ninja.
Now they just needed to know if Kakashi had returned those feelings.
“What the hell are you three up to?”
The team suddenly turned around, seeing Lady Tsunade standing with her hands on her hips. Sakura and Shizune were trailing behind her, both carrying stacks of books and paperwork. The three genin panicked, all stammering and trying to come up with an excuse as to why they were spying on their sensei.
Luckily, Sakura saved them. “They’re definitely dating. Kakashi-sensei gets so flustered when he’s around her.”
But Shizune shook her head. “I think you guys are projecting; both of them have lost a lot. Just because they spend time together doesn’t mean they’re dating.”
Tsunade snorted, however. “Please. Look at them.”
The five shinobi turned their attention back to the two jonin who sat on a bench next to each other, enjoying their meal. If the two had noticed they were being spied on, they didn’t make any indication of it. To the untrained eye, nothing they were doing was any different than how they usually were. Kakashi had finished his meal disturbingly quick, hiding behind his mask again. She was half turned, leg crossed under her, as she looked up at him. They weren’t sitting particularly close to one another, nor were they really touching. Kakashi seemed a little tense, but he usually did lately.
“I…am not seeing what you’re seeing, Lady Tsunade,” Sori admitted, squinting his eyes at the two.
“Just you wait,” she ordered, narrowing her eyes with a smirk on her face. Shizune rolled her eyes; the hokage obviously knew more than she was letting on.
The team continued to watch, their curiosity piqued by Lady Tsunade's confidence. As they observed, Kakashi reached into his pocket and pulled out a woven bracelet –nothing terribly exciting, really, to anyone watching. But as she held up her wrist for him to place it on her, he had a small, subtle smile behind his mask, his eyes crinkling at the corners in a way that only appeared when he was genuinely pleased. She accepted with a soft grin, her eyes lighting up with gratitude. It was a simple exchange, but the genuine warmth between them was undeniable.
Tsunade raised an eyebrow triumphantly, grinning as she crossed her arms over her chest. "See? You pay attention to the little things," she said, her voice low as if she were sharing a secret. "The little things speak volumes. It's in the way he looks at her, even with that stupid mask on. And it’s the way she lights up when she’s looking at him. That is how you know.”
Ayato and Sakura both looked enamored by the whole thing, blushing excitedly at how sweet Kakashi seemed to be towards her. Shizune was rolling her eyes with a knowing grin, pushing Tsunade and Sakura back towards the hokage’s tower. Sori whooped with excitement, yelling about how he knew it! They were dating! Tashiro just shrugged indifferently, though he was grinning too.
Sori’s exclamation, however, drew the attention of the two jonin. Sakura’s eyes widened before she spun on her heel and took off with Shizune and Tsunade, not wanting to get into trouble. Ayato hit Sori in horror, turning to run off as well but their sensei appeared before them, hands on her hips.
“And what do you think you three are doing?” She demanded, brow raised.
Kakashi sauntered over with one hand in his pocket and the other holding a book. “I think they were spying on us.”
“You two are dating!” Sori accused, pointing between the two, trying to steer the trouble away from his team.
She and Kakashi exchanged appraising looks. Then Kakashi shrugged.
“I didn’t think it was a secret,” he explained simply, returning his attention to his book.
“Did you guys think he just hung out with us at training because he was bored?”
Team 12 stammered again, and Sori blanched as he considered his answer.
“At least you practiced being quiet today,” she hummed, turning on her heel to walk away now. Kakashi started after her. “Next time, don’t scream about it.”
*****
“Sorry about them,” she sighed when they returned to her apartment.
Kakashi shrugged halfheartedly, slipping his sandals off at the door. “It was bound to happen eventually.”
“It’s definitely your fault,” she teased as she fell back onto her couch and closed her eyes.
He raised a brow, looking down at her with a narrowed eye, sitting on the floor by her head. “And how is it my fault?”
“You decided to be cute and give me a gift in public,” she reminded him, bringing her wrist to her chest to touch the bracelet.
Kakashi took her hand, holding it up to his to look over the bracelet he had given her. “I’m glad you like it. Tsunade helped pick it out; I’m not great at gifts.”
“It’s not your fault then, it’s hers!”

I think it'd be funny if we made Kakashi even younger.
Can you imagine Naruto, Sasuke, and Sakura finding out that Kakashi is only a handful of years older than them?!
I mean, with how little we see of his face it's extremely difficult to tell how old he is...
It was one thing when he was prepubescent and short with an unbroken voice, but once his voice dropped and he reached an average adult height... How would anyone be able to tell?
He's strong, highly ranked, mature for his age, and the proper height for an adult with an adult voice. Anyone who didn't already know his age would be liable to mistakenly assume he's older than he actually is, especially with the grey hair.
And it's not like it's out of the realm of possibility for a teenager to be a jounin sensei—take Minato, for example. He was, what, seventeen? And as talented as Minato was, he's nothing compared to Kakashi when it comes to rising through the ranks at a young age.
I'm pretty sure Kakashi broke literally every record there was when it came to "youngest ever [blank]". Academy student, genin, chūnin, jōnin, ANBU, ANBU Captain... Sure, Itachi eventually beat him in one or two of those, but at the time Kakashi was the sole record-holder; There'd never been anyone like him before.
If we just modify Kakashi's already contradictory timeline... Unimportant info below about the details for just how this could potentially work in canon!!
—WAIT. FORGET ALL THAT.
If you want to read my calculations as to how this could canonically work you may direct your attention below, however I have just come up with a far better and far simpler and also quite possibly both funnier and sadder idea:
Time-travel, but not in any way you're thinking...
Most people assume the reason why they didn't hear much of Kakashi's exploits over the years is because he was in ANBU and so everything was Top Secret and extremely covert...
But what if the real reason was because Kakashi had somehow been sent about a decade into the future? Hence explaining how he could be a teenager still when he was once the Yondaime's student.
Also possible: Kakashi was somehow held in stasis for the past decade—sealed, perhaps? Trapped? Or maybe the work of a foreign shinobi's jutsu (kekkei genkai?) that took about a decade or so to break/deactivate...
Or, my personal favorite:
He was investigating the Uzushiogakure ruins and got caught in one of their defensive seals — one that would seal him for a maximum of ten years, with the intention of giving Uzushio shinobi as much time as possible to deal with whatever intruder(s) got caught in the trap.
Without Kushina or Minato or any other Uzumaki seal experts however, deactivating the seal would be basically impossible — luckily, the seal was set up so that once time ran out Kakashi would be automatically released.
And he was! Ten years later, with little baby Naruto all grown up and almost ready to be placed on a genin team — his genin team.
AFFOREMENTIONED DUMB CALCULATIONS FOR HOW THIS COULD POTENTIALLY FIT INTO THE CANONICAL TIMELINE BELOW 👇
It's probably boring!! You don't have to read it!!
⚠️ You have been warned!! ⚠️
(It's mostly just me brainstorming, honestly...)
Genin at five, chūnin at six... Then he stalls at chūnin for a while before eventually advancing to jōnin at twelve (wherein Obito "dies").
He's approximately thirteen when Rin is killed leading to him joining ANBU, and then fourteen when Naruto is born and the Kyūbi is unleashed on the village, causing Minato and Kushina to sacrifice themselves.
In canon, he is then twenty-six years old when he becomes Team 7's jōnin sensei...
For starters, I vote we cut those six years of chūnin limbo before Kakashi becomes jōnin, dropping him to about twenty-or-so.
Then again, this is fanfic—who cares about canon timelines?
If we put him on the hyper-speed fast-track...
4: Academy student
5: Genin
6: Chūnin
7. Jōnin (Obito dies)
8. ANBU (Rin dies)
9. Naruto's birth (Minato & Kushina die)
Is this ridiculous? Yes! But who cares?
9+12=21
Hm... That's not right.
Alright, this is getting a bit annoyingly complicated.
Even if I downgrade Naruto to eleven (because for a long time I was convinced for some reason that Naruto was eleven while the rest of his peers were twelve, and I still have absolutely no clue where I got that idea from) that would still make Kakashi about twenty. Hm...
Ugh, I'll figure this out later. Can't we just hand-wave it?
—No wait, I have an idea:
While modifying his canon timeline to make him younger is a hassle and a half, the fact remains that until we saw Kakashi Gaiden we didn't actually have any details on his backstory...
In other words? The beginning of the series managed just fine without it, so why don't we just throw it out entirely?
Afterall, this fic is about jōnin-sensei Kakashi—the details of his traumatic childhood are irrelevant, and it's not like early fans had that information to work with anyway.
Naruto is canonically younger than Sasuke (who was a baby during the Kyūbi attack) so we shall put him at eleven to give us some leeway.
Now let's say we wanted to make Kakashi somewhere around sixteen to eighteen during canon—that would require him to be five to seven years old when Minato dies.
Now let's compress his timeline some more:
Considering the Konoha 9 all attended the very first chūnin exams after they graduated, I don't see any reason why Kakashi couldn't do the same—and unlike them he's a prodigy so it's basically guaranteed that he'd pass. (And that's assuming he didn't get a field promotion...)
Give him up to a year to become jōnin, and then have him join ANBU almost immediately after.
Some months later, Naruto is born and the Yondaime dies.
To compress it further, I am making his graduation even more ridiculous:
Academy student at three, genin and then chūnin at four, jōnin and ANBU at five. God, can you imagine a five-year-old ANBU? That'd be terrifying. Naruto is born around the time he turns six, and eleven years later Kakashi passes a genin team for the first time and is made a jōnin-sensei at seventeen, just like Minato-sensei was.
It'll take Team 7 a while to realize that, however.
...WAIT A MINUTE.***
Why am I even bothering to promote him prior to Minato's death? Am I, perhaps, an idiot?
Minato becomes his sensei as soon as he graduates to genin at five years old, but before that Kakashi spent a lot of time as his apprentice and they bonded. Shortly after Team 7 is formed the Kyūbi attack happens and Minato dies — the how doesn't matter, so don't worry about it.
The war is over so instead of Kannabi Bridge they go on some other dangerous mission with the same results, except this time the reason Minato isn't there is because he's dead.
They send some other inadequate chūnin or jōnin in his place, but they promptly get killed early on in the mission, perhaps at the same time that Rin gets kidnapped.
Kakashi is chūnin at this point so he naturally takes charge, despite being a five or six year old and Obito being — I don't know, twelve? Significantly older.
Obito dies, then Rin, and this time it's the stupid Sandaime that sticks Kakashi in ANBU like he's an annoying unwanted child that he wants to keep out of sight and thoroughly occupied — at least, until he needs a jōnin sensei for the Kyūbi's Jinchūriki and the Last Uchiha...
So, final version:
Five years old when Minato dies and Naruto is born, and about five or six years old when Obito and Rin die and Kakashi gets stuck in ANBU, followed by eleven years of Naruto growing up while Kakashi's in ANBU makes him... About sixteen to seventeen years old when Kakashi becomes Team 7's jōnin sensei.
To Kakashi, this feels almost poetic. (Same age as Minato-sensei was...)

You giggle drunkenly, nearly falling off the barstool between Kurenai and Gai. Asuma was sat on the other side of Kurenai, while Kakashi was watching you from Gai’s right side. He raises an eyebrow, not realizing just how much of a lightweight you are. This was the first time you’d agreed to go drinking with the other jonin and he was pleased to hear you’d be joining, thinking that he’d finally have a chance to flirt and see where the two of you stood with one another, yet you were sandwiched between your best friend and his own best friend before he’d even gotten there.
And perhaps Kurenai had done that on purpose. She didn’t want you to end up with a broken heart if you’d gone home with Kakashi and found out he wanted nothing more than a night of fun, yet it was amusing to watch the man struggle to get your attention throughout the evening.
Now though, Kurenai was too far gone to be concerned with keeping you and the white haired jonin separated. She was too busy trying not to fall off her own stool before Asuma makes the executive decision that the two of you needed to be taken home before you passed out at the bar or got yourselves hurt.
Kakashi immediately volunteers to help you home before Kurenai can realize what’s going on, sending Gai on his way before slipping an arm around your shoulders to guide you out of the bar and down the street. You stumble the whole way there and luckily for you, Kakashi’s strong arms are there to catch you each time.
As the two of you come up outside your building, you trip and catch yourself against the wall with a bright laugh. “Kakashi sensei!” The man in front of you goes wide eyed as you whine. You pout up at him, hooking your fingers in his belt loops much to his surprise.
“I am not your sensei,” he sighs, taking a hold of your wrists. “And you’re very drunk right now.”
You look down at his hands and frown, shaking your head, “I’m very, very sober right now..” You stomp your foot, hiccuping. “I gotta pee. Help me inside, please!” You giggle once again, stumbling past him as you unlock the building’s front door before heading to the stairs to get up to your apartment.
“Shit,” he curses quietly. He couldn’t leave you alone to go up the stairs by yourself, but he wasn’t sure it was a good idea to follow after that little stunt just now. He clears his throat, catching you about halfway up the stairs. “I gotcha…” He whispers, scooping you up easily and carrying you up another two flights of stairs.
He only sets you down when you’re at the door, having dealt with you playing in his hair on the way. If it wasn’t for the mask he was wearing, you would surely be able to tell that he was blushing.
You turn to look up at him on your fourth attempt to unlock the door, frowning and handing him the set of keys to do it for you. Taking the keys may have been one of his bigger mistakes. With his back to you, he can’t see you beginning to undo your pants, leaving them loose and reaching around him to start to unbutton his pants.
He quickly pushes the door open, peeling your hands from his waistband and urging himself to calm down. He’d have to take a cold shower at this rate. “Alright. Inside. You’re drunk. I’m not doing this… Hey, don’t just start taking your clothes off! The door is open!” He rushes to shut it, watching you strip out of your pants.
“Why won’t you touch me?”
“Because as much as I would love to, you’re fucking plastered, Y/N.” He sighs, watching you pout. As your hand reaches for him, trying to pull him closer and he lets you. He tenses up when your free hand finds the front of his pants, palming him. He groans softly and rolls his hips into your touch.
In an instant though, your hands are pinned above your head and his other hand gripping your jaw tightly. “Y/N. I’ll make a deal with you.”
“Please,” you whisper, whimpering softly and lifting a leg to brush against the front of his pants.
He hisses, tightening the grip he has in both your wrists and chin, “If you remember this in the morning and you don’t regret this, I will fuck you until you can’t see straight. If you don’t, or you don’t remember this, then no worries.”
You nod your head eagerly, dropping your leg so that you’re no longer brushing against him or teasing him. He lets you go, holding his hands up and waiting to see what you’ll do. When you bend down to grab your dirty laundry, he sighs in relief, leading you back to your bedroom.
While you step into the bathroom, he busies himself with pulling your covers back, getting your bed ready for you. When you call for help, he steps into the bathroom to see that you’re tangled in your shirt. He laughs softly and helps you out of it before turning the shower on for you. “Here,” he whispers, helping you step in. You nearly slip and he cringes, worried. “Maybe you should do this in the morning instead.”
“No. Just get in and help me… Don’t look at me like that! I made a deal. I’ll keep my hands to myself!” You pout and lean against the shower wall, letting the water run off your body.
He still hadn’t had a chance to recuperate from your touch in the entryway, and he knew he was still half hard and this shower would do him no favors. “Fuck, okay.”
He turns his back to you, hoping to keep his thoughts clean while he can. This was pushing things. This was a dangerous game to play and he wasn’t sure what to expect and honestly neither were you. When he turns back to face you, you can’t help but stare at his semi-erect cock. Your mouth waters at the sight and he scolds you, warning that you’re making it very hard to stick to the deal.
You turn your back towards him as he steps into the water behind you, his hand lightly grazing over your hip in case you need to be caught. “Sorry… Fuck… I didn’t realize you’d be so big. I mean I felt you in my hand… But I couldn’t see.”
He drops his head and runs a hand over his face, unsure of what to say. His cock twitches at your words, slowly beginning to stand at attention when he’s been working so hard to fight it off. “I really need you to stop talking about it.”
“Would it be so bad to let me just help you cum? Or maybe get a taste? Nothing else but,” you turn and look down, licking your lips, “it’ll be better than you suffering right now. But I won’t if you really don’t want me to.”
He takes a step back, dropping his hands to cover himself, “Y/N…”
“Yes or no.”
The silence that falls between the two of you is deafening but it doesn’t last long. “Yes.”
You’ve dropped your knees before he can say anything else, pushing his hands away and replacing them with your own. He groans softly, rocking his hips and letting his head fall back. He curses quietly, allowing you to have your way. He drops his hand to tangle his fingers in your hair, tugging your hair back before you can take him in your mouth. Your hand slows in confusion and he simply shakes his head, “Not tonight. Just this… I won’t last long anyway…”
His eyes flutter shut and you nod in understanding, sitting back on your heels as you move your hand a little faster. His cock is already beginning to twitch as he gets closer to release, his mouth falling open as he looks down to meet your eyes. He groans rather loudly as he meets his high, hips stilling as he cums in thick spurts across your chest. Your hand doesn’t still, helping him ride out the high and to milk him for every drop.
He pants softly, quickly helping you to your feet and cupping your face. “Are you okay?” He whispers, wanting to make sure he hadn’t upset you.
“I’m okay. I promise.”
He chuckles softly, kissing your temple, “I promise I can last longer than that… I’ve just dreamt of the day where I’ve made you mine.”
Your cheeks flush and you slip your arms around his waist, pressing your chest to his. “Tomorrow when the alcohol wears off, I want you to make me yours.”
He nods his head eagerly, leaning down to kiss you eagerly. He couldn’t hold back anymore. If you regretted it in the morning he’d apologize, but for now, he’d take what he could get. “Let’s get you cleaned up.” He backs you into the water, moving back and grimacing at the cum on both your chest and his now.
After your shower, you’re pretty much spent. He helps you dry off and dress in some clean clothes before he’s pulling his own clothes back on. “I’ll stay on the couch tonight to make sure you’re okay,” he whispers as he tucks you in, leaning down to kiss you then your forehead. “Come get me if you need anything.” He grabs a spare pillow from your bed, leaving you alone in the dark room.

13:51 ✦Kakashi✦
Tumblr media
It was pouring rain outside. It was good relaxing weather, but it had been this way for days now.
"Why the long face?" Kakashi asked poking at your cheek.
You let out a small sigh, "I guess I'm just sick of this weather."
"We need the rain," he spoke, matter of factly.
"I know," you groaned, "but it's been days since the sun has been out. I just need some sunlight."
"Why?" he asked.
You let out an even more frustrated grunt, "Just forget it."
He chuckled at your overreaction. His face hidden behind his book, but you knew he was still paying close attention to you.
"How about I make the rain a bit more interesting," he offered.
"How?" you asked snapping your head around to him.
He just set his book down and took your hand. He lead you to the front door and stepped out.
"What are you doing?" you snapped. "Are you crazy? We're going to get soaked. I'm not even dressed to go anywhere."
"Stop complaining and come on," he spoke continuing to pull you behind him and out into the horrible weather.
Once outside he prompted for you to stand in the middle of your small yard and look up.
"Feel it," he instructed.
You sighed, yet you still put your arms out and felt the rain. You cleared your mind thinking only of the rain and focusing in on how it felt as many drops hit your body.
"I use the rain to ground myself sometimes," Kakashi spoke. "The rain is good for that."
You opened your eyes to look at him. He was at peace. You could tell by his breathing that he was the most calm you had ever seen him.
"Kakashi," you finally spoke.
He looked over at you with a small smile that crinkled the edges of his eyes.
"Teach me."

The Chunin Exams and the attack on the hokage (Kakashi x Reader; past Shisui x Reader)
This scenario is kind of chronological to the anime, I just added some details. Main pairing Kakashi x fem. reader (Sarutobi reader), past Shisui x reader
wc: 5k
tw: character death, blood, etc. angsty with a bit of fluff and action
Age 21
It was time for the Chunin Exams. After watching the Uzumaki and Hyuga boys fight Y/n intently paid attention to Shikamaru´s fight. After all, he is her brother´s student. But from what Asuma had told her she knew that he would be the winner. So, it´s not surprising that she and everyone else were shocked when he gave up. That boy is something. Now it was time for Sasuke´s and Gaara´s match. The latter is Baki´s student with whom she had quite a few bad experiences before the peace treaty. She watched Sasuke concentrate the chakra to his hand and…. the Chidori. Kakashi had taught his student his technique. She still got goosebumps when hearing the chirping sound of this jutsu… and in this moment Sasuke reminded her so much of young Kakashi.
Suddenly she saw white feathers fall in front of her eyes – a genjustu. Hastily releasing herself from it she made eye contact with Gai and Kakashi who stood beside her, all of their eyes immediately going to the Hokage… who was held captive by the kazekage. Y/n watched her fellow Jonin Raido get hit by multiple kunai, and a barrier of ninjutsu formed around the two of them. So the Suna betrayed Konoha. “Gai, Kakashi you two take care of them. I need to find my father.” Both nodded and took over the sounds nin that were in their way while she went to rescue her father. Coming to a halt in front of the barrier she stood beside the Anbu who also couldn´t go in. Tensely she watches the kunai being held at her father´s throat. The both of them make eye contact. He might be an incredibly strong ninja, but he´s also way out of his prime and his health had been declining with age. The kazekage took the kunai away and reached for his face, tearing it down and revealing … Orochimaru. How did he get in? If he´s after Sasuke why is he holding the Hokage hostage? He held the kunai and pushed it into his palm. He let go of her father and turned his back to him. They seemed to be talking about something but there was no way to hear through the barrier. If there only was a way to break through it. She used her ability to visualize chakra and tried to sense an opening, just a small loophole would be enough for her to break through. The time was ticking because if her father and Orochimaru engaged in a fight, she couldn´t confidently say that her father would make it out alive. “This barrier can´t be broken unless it´s from the inside. If Lord Hokage would take out one of those four sound ninjas we could help.” The words of the Anbu next to her only added to her desperation. The whole situation seems so hopeless. She observed the barrier more closely. There has to be a way. The points closest to the enemy nin have a huge amount of chakra, and so do the edges surrounding the barrier that leaves…. The middle. Right in the middle the barrier seems to be slightly weaker. But if she would get closer it would burn her alive. She needs to find a way to break through that weak point. Especially now, that the fight between the Hokage and his former student, one of the legendary Sannin started, and both charged at each other. Her father used a mud substitution to escape Orochimaru´s attack but how long can he substitute himself? Both continued their attacks at each other, each jutsu grander than the one before. “He´s combined earth and fire. Excellent Lord Hokage!” Yes excellent, but how long can he keep this up? She watched her father throw off the Hokage robe, revealing his ninja armor. Did he expect this? Why hadn´t he told her? Yes, she was aware of the threat that Orochimaru was but if he was so sure to fight why didn´t he add her to his guard? She could´ve been in there with him and fought alongside him. The fighting continued when he suddenly looked over at her and then looked at the middle of the barrier. The weaker part. His hand glided to his pocket, and he took out a small piece of paper with a seal on it. The transportation seal she had once given him.
Ten years earlier: Age 11: Y/n went to the Hokage tower. She had experimented the whole day and Shisui had even helped her to successfully make the transportation seal. With this seal, she can immediately reach whoever possesses the seal. That person only has to infuse it with a little bit of chakra and it will immediately resonate with her and basically pull her in. She hoped her father would like it. He should be in the tower doing important stuff. Timidly knocking on the door to his office she stared at her feet. Will he like it? Will he be proud? What if he thinks it´s stupid? Asking her to come in she opened the door. “Hello, father.” “Y/n, what brings you here? I thought you had already done your mission for this week.” “I´m not here for a mission. I-I-I made something for you and I hope you like it.” She gave him the piece of paper. Lord Third looked at it skeptically. His eyes widened when he realized what he held in his hands. “How did you do it? Making a seal like this is quite difficult, especially for someone your age.” “I studied a lot. It´s for you. When you´re in trouble one day just infuse it with a bit of chakra and I will be there to help you. No matter what happens.” He showed a small smile and put the paper away in a drawer of his table. “Thank you Y/n, but now go, I have work to do.” To say she was disappointed would be an understatement. He didn´t take her seriously. He probably never will….
She watched as he held the piece of paper between two fingers and watched the blue chakra infuse the paper. Her body vibrated. She felt like a thousand ants were crawling under her skin. The seal called for her. She concentrated on the weak part of the barrier while simultaneously preparing her body for the jump. This is her only chance. Her only chance to save her father. With one last look into his eyes, she focused on the paper and jumped through the barrier, landing right by his side.
Glaring at Orochimaru she took on a fighting stance. Ready to protect her father with her life. “You kept the seal.” “I have always carried it with me for the past ten years.”
Orochimaru was smirking towards them. “I have to admit I did not expect this turn of events. But it won´t change much about the outcome Sarutobi Sensei. The only difference will be that both of you will die.”
Two wooden caskets descended from the ground and inside were… The first and the second Hokage. Hashirama and Tobirama Senju. What has Orochimaru done? She glanced at her father; he was just as exasperated. “Now, what will you do Sarutobi Sensei?”
Lord First and Lord Second stepped out. “Long time no see… Saru.” “Oh, it´s you. You´ve gotten old, Sarutobi.” There´s no way they were going to win a fight against both of them and Orochimaru. “Father, what should we do?” “I never thought I would meet the great brothers in this manner… It´s regretful. Please prepare yourselves. Lord First Hokage. At his word, the first Hokage looked at him and glanced at Y/n. “Father?” Hashirama Senju´s face contorted in a frown. Already sensing what´s going to occur between him and his brother and their former student and his daughter. Lord Second Hokage.” Tobirama glanced at his back “Edo Tensei? This youth summoned us with the forbidden jutsu.” Orochimaru controlled both Hokages and Y/n and her father had to fight them.
“Please prepare yourselves, Sarutobi Sensei, young Sarutobi.” With these words Orochimaru completed the bodies, making them look alive, and controlling them fully. “They look like how they used to look more than ever.” Y/n turned to her father who pressed his fingers against his forehead. His voice sounded shaky. She could not imagine what it must feel like to fight against the ones who taught you and who you looked up to. Orochimaru is a sick bastard.
The bodies started walking towards them… and then attacked with an incredible speed. Her father fought against Lord first while Y/n took on Lord second. Her father used his fire jutsu, only for it to be countered by Lord Second´s water style. Just the Tobirama signed his Water Shock Wave. Y/n activated her blades which are like knives but the chakra extends them to a huge scale. Right when the water was about to hit them she sliced through the jutsu, spreading the water to flow around them. There was so much water. Just the Hashirama started his attack and no matter how many fire shots her father was firing they did nothing against the first hokage. While focused on Tobirama Y/n had to watch how her father was beaten with Taijutsu by Hashirama and fell into the water. Slowly getting up. While looking out for her father she neglected Tobirama who charged at her with his sword. Blocking it with her blades she was all too aware of how hopeless the situation looked, and how their chances to make it out alive sank by the minute. Her thoughts were interrupted by tree trunks started sprouting through the roof. “Deep forest emersion” Her surroundings turned into moving trees, unstable and out to catch her. Her arms were caught by two branches twisting and chaining her to the ground. They needed reinforcements immediately.  She could hardly move and neither could her father. A look at her was enough. She knew what to do. Trying her hardest to put her hand on a surface she summoned the only hope for this fight. Alongside her father's Monkey King Enma, her own summon Monkey Prince Enki appeared. Both are similar in looks but Enki looks more youthful than his father. “Enki, get me out of here.” The summon looked at her. “Long time no see Y/n, look at me. I´m nearly as tall as my father.” One stern look from her was enough and he worked on the branches breaking them with his enormous strength. She looked over and saw Enma already eyeing Orochimaru. “Orochimaru… I knew this would happen. You´re pathetic Sarutobi… It´s because you didn´t kill him back then and it´s too late to do it now.” “Please Enma. The Adamantine Nyoi.” She watched Enma transform into a staff and break her father free. “Come on Enki you too.” Enki nodded and transformed a staff too. The Adamantine Staff is as hard as a diamond and extremely destructive. Holding Enki in her hands she turned toward Lord Second when Orochimaru took a sword out of his mouth. The Snake Sword is one of the only things that can hurt Enma and Enki. Her father attacked Orochimaru leaving her with both Hokages.  While the sword and the staff clashed, she focused on the reanimated bodies in front of her. Defending Tobirama´s sword attack with Enki. Enki managed to block the attack and send Tobirama flying towards the barrier. His back hit it and caught fire. But he seemed unfazed by it. So they also don´t feel any pain. Well makes sense since they´re dead. Turning to Hashirama she saw him turning towards her father and Orochimaru but before he could start running, she already charged at him, Enki firmly in her hands.
Her father was losing the fight against Orochimaru. She watched him getting punched by Orochimaru and staying down. “FATHER!”  “Are you okay, Sensei?” Y/n attacked Orochimaru with her staff. Orochimaru summoned a snake which curled around Y/n body twisting it. She tried to reach her blades to cut through it but the snake was faster, trapping them alongside her at her body. Orochimaru stood on her father, who was still lying on the roof. She couldn´t hold back the tears that started to escape. This helplessness.
“Orochimaru…. YOU FOOL.” Her father grabbed that bastard and kicked his legs, sending Orochimaru to the ground while Enma´s hand shot out of the staff to choke him and hold him up in the air. Using substitution Orochimaru freed himself. She tried to free herself as the two Hokages started walking towards her father but the snake only twisted her tighter. A bit more and it would break both her arms and then crush her.
Orochimaru took off his face again to reveal a much younger one. “You´re a truly frightening, inhuman monster! So this is why you want Sasuke Uchiha? To take over his body and never age?” Orochimaru or whoever body he´s in smiled viciously. “Right… Exactly… Sasuke.” Orochimaru switched his face back to his old one for the final fight. The first Hokage used his wood release to release to fill the barrier even more with his trees. Only the Adamantine cage from Enma protects him. “What´s been wrong with you? This isn´t like you!” Hiruzen only let out a sigh, looking down. “I´m sorry…” Filled with new determination Hiruzen said, “I´ll bury you and correct my old mistakes, now!” Suddenly the third Hokage used the shadow clone Justu and made two clones of himself, distributing the little chakra he had left. Y/n looked confused, why would he do that in this situation? And then it dawned upon her. “D-Don´t tell me, he…?!” The order of the signs her father was signing. She knew what he was planning. A Grim Reaper will appear behind him looking like a ghost surrounded by a blue light but only those who signed a contract with this Jutsu can see it. Her father had told Y/n about it one night as they talked to father and daughter. Hiruzen looked behind him a saw the Shinigami. Just then Tobirama used his Infinite Darkness Jutsu surrounding all of them in a black abyss. Y/n was in a tricky situation. She had to get out of the snake´s hold. She had an idea. It was reckless, stupid, and done wrong might cost her life. She had her chakra blades in her hands facing her body, not the snake. But if she would activate them and send lots of chakra through them to lengthen the blade… it would also cut through the snake. She had no other choice. Now or never. Trying to keep her screams in she activated the blades and felt it go through her sides, slicing the flesh. A burning smell came to her nose and she tried her hardest to not scream too loud. Her whole body was shaking and covered in sweat but the snake fell limply down and she was free now, although wounded. Still surrounded by darkness she heard her father getting attacked. “Orochimaru! Now I will perform an ace jutsu even if you don´t know! Behold! Sealing Jutsu! Reaper Death Seal!” The Grim Reaper was mumbling some words she didn´t understand but she heard her father cough and let out a scream. Hiruzen ran around in the darkness when he suddenly. “I got you” Appear!”. The darkness around them vanished and she was able to see again. Both clones had grabbed the reanimated Hokage and held them tight. Hashirama then said “I´m sorry… Sarutobi…” Slowly the souls of both reanimated bodies were sucked out leaving them as white shells. “Please forgive me Lord Forst Hokage, Lord Second Hokage.” “SEAL” He sealed the bodies in his own. Now it was just Orochimaru. Could they win? Was this their chance? But her father had lost so much chakra and she wasn´t in a better situation. Getting up she went to stand beside her father. The blood from her wounds dripped down her body and bloodied her clothes. But she could care less about it. The bodies of the Hokages disappeared and left two dead Oto Nin. He did this to his own subordinates. She gasped when she saw them. “Toying with even the lives of your own subordinates…! You are truly a sick bastard Orochimaru.” How was this person once a Konoha Ninja? The student of her father? Her father’s clones disappeared, and he called for Enma who was still in staff form. Y/n called for Enki to get ready to fight. Hiruzen looked at his daughter. How much she had to go through in this fight. Wounded. Tired.  “Y/n, you stay back this is between me and my former student.” “But father I can help.” He looked at her with a sad smile. “I know you can. And you helped me enough to get to make it to this point in the fight. But now you will stay back. I´m not ordering you as Hokage, I´m asking as your father. Please stay back.” Tears started to form in her eyes. She looked at him, and then slowly nodded taking small steps back.
Her father and Orochimaru went at each other when her father managed to grab onto Orochimaru. “You´re mine.” Orochimaru looked shocked and confused. He held onto him and couldn´t see the Snake Sword that Orochimaru motioned to start. “FATHER WATCH OUT” The sword flew at a rapid pace, going through her father. Y/n cried out. Her heartbreaking scream echoed in the barrier. Hiruzen coughed out some blood. Enma held onto the sword, so it didn’t go completely through Hiruzen. A shocked Orochimaru before him. “Why didn´t you dodge it?” Her father looked at Orochimaru. “The Reaper Death Seal. In this sealing jutsu, in exchange for the effectiveness of Jutsu one´s soul is handed to the Grim Reaper.” The same jutsu that sealed the Nine-Tailed Fox twelve years ago. Orochimaru tried to sign for a different Jutsu but it seemed ineffective. Orochimaru´s soul was slowly dragged out by the Grim Reaper´s hand. The Grim Reaper lifted his sword. “Knock it off” You old dotard! I won´t let you do as you like.” Orochimaru signed with his free hand and the sword started to slowly continue piercing through her father. She saw her father struggling. The sword continued to pierce through him. Hiruzen started to doubt himself. Was he not able to take Orochimaru with him? No, he had to. For Konoha.
While Y/n watched her father and Orochimaru struggle the fights in Konoha continued. She could only hope that her fellow shinobi were fighting the enemies off well.
The Anbu was still watching, unable to do anything. “It´s taking much too long. It´s impossible for a battle between Shinobi to last this long. What the heck is happening inside?”
The whole village had turned into a battlefield, Suna and Oto nin had infiltrated the village and were fighting against Konoha ninja. Bodies were everywhere. Orochimaru looked his former sensei in the eyes. “Your side… the Leaf Shinobi… will be annihilated down to every last woman and child! I will accomplish the destruction of the Hidden Leaf Village!!!”
Outside the barrier, Kakashi and Gai alongside other Jonin were fighting the last enemies that were in the arena. Kakashi looked up to the barrier. Y/n was inside with the third Hokage. He hoped she was still alive. She had to be. He couldn´t lose her too.
Y/n heard Orochimaru´s words. She was already close to passing out, with little chakra with some blood loss. She hoped Konohamaru was safe. They were probably evacuated already. Her thoughts drifted to Kakashi as she slumped down to the ground hoping that with a little rest, she could fight again. Kakashi who was by her side these past years after losing Shisui. If she died now, she would be able to see him again. But she couldn´t leave Kakashi alone in this world, and she didn´t want to. Not after all the nights they´ve shared, after the conversations in the dark, after being comfortable enough to take off his mask in front of her. She didn´t want to give this up. But maybe she had no other choice. Watching Orochimaru and her father she realised that she might not make it out of this alive.
Y/n listened to her father peaking up at his words. “To protect the village, all the Leaf Shinobi will risk their lives fighting! Real strength doesn´t lie in the mastering of all Jutsu! I believe I taught this to you too, in the past… It´s when one protects someone important that the true strength of the Shinobi will emerge!” These words. Her father had told them to her so many times.
Coughing up blood Hiruzen said “It appears that I don’t have the strength left to yank out your entire soul. However, your ambition ends here! I will take away all your Jutsu with me!” Orochimaru was screaming when he and her father were suddenly pushed away from each other “SEAL” Orochimaru´s arms started to turn purple and fell limp to his sides. “Your ambition of crushing the Hidden Leaf… dies right here!” Her father turned towards her, gave her one last look muttering an “I´m sorry Y/n” and fell.
Numb. She felt numb. Her father he-he he is laying there on the ground. With the last strength she had left, she got up screaming in pain. She had lost another person she loved. Y/n´s screams echoed in the barrier and Orochimaru turned towards her. She was making her way towards him, tears falling from her eyes. Taking out a kunai she stalked towards Orochimaru. Towards the man who was responsible for her father´s death. At the same time, Enma was crawling towards her father. “Sarutobi…” He took the sword and thought that this was a fitting end for someone like him. Dying for his people. Protecting his people. Enma vanished.
Y/n stalked towards him. “OROCHIMARU I WILL KILL YOU!” He felt like his arms were burning, turned towards his subordinates who held up the barrier. “This is where we call off our plan. Release the barrier.” She was launching towards him when one of Orochimaru´s subordinates came in front of him and stabbed his own kunai into her. She fell back and fell. Orochimaru gave her one last look. A pity really, father and daughter dying side by side.
Y/n felt like her whole body was on fire. She was coughing up blood. She wanted to go to him, so she dragged her body up towards her father leaving a bloody trail. When she was next to him, she reached out her hand and took his in her own. Turning her head to the side she saw one last tear drop from his closed eyes. She couldn´t move anymore. Kakashi… I´m sorry…. Hiruzen and Y/n lay there, side by side in a pool of blood.
The barrier was released and all the ninjas surrounding looked at it. Gai, Kakashi, and Genma watched from the middle of the arena. “The barrier is released,” Gai said. All three scowling. It was Genma who said it. “Where is Lord Hokage?”
Kakashi looked up. “Y/n should be there too.”
Orochimaru was fleeing with his subordinates when the Anbu took their chance and followed them but were stopped by a spider net that was released from one of the enemy ninjas.
On the ground, Kabuto and Baki were retreating too. Kakashi Gai and Genma went to the roof where the barrier was only to find…. The two bodies lay there, beat up and bloodied. No, Kakashi thought, not her, she couldn´t be…. He couldn´t move. Gai and Genma checked their heartbeats. Genma shook his head when he checked the Third Hokage, but Gai perked up. “Kakashi she´s still alive.” She was alive.? She was alive! He ran towards her and scooped her up in his arms carrying her to the next medic nin he could find. He looked at her. She felt so limp in his arms. He couldn´t lose her. He didn´t want to lose her.
At the hospital, she was immediately taken care of by the doctors. She had lost so much blood. He slid down a wall in the hallway and looked at his hands. Her blood was sticking to them and starting to dry up. Kakashi didn´t know how long he was sitting there. Soon Asuma, Gai, and Kurenai came, all taking a seat next to him, waiting for any news. Kurenai held Asuma´s hand. He had just lost his father and did not know if his sister would make it. A doctor finally came out and looked at the jonin on the floor. “She made it.” He felt like crying, she was alive. “Asuma-san would you like to see her?” He nodded and got up walking towards the door, and then poked Kakashi with his feet pointing with his head towards the door of the hospital room. No words needed to be said between the two men. Asuma is not stupid. He knew of the little glances, the “accidental” touches, or how much time these two would spend together.
Both men walked through the door. There she was. Covered in bandages and hooked to a monitor. “She´s currently in a stable condition but the healing process might take a while. We´re expecting her to wake up today or tomorrow. I will leave you alone.” Asuma walked towards her. Y/n, his little sister whom he couldn´t protect. Meanwhile, Kakashi stood still by the door. He shouldn´t have let her go after her father alone. He should´ve been with her. But there were so many enemies.
That night when the hospital was silent and everyone slept soundly in their undestroyed homes or tents until they were rebuilt, Kakashi went to Y/n´s hospital room, taking a seat next to her bed. He took her hand in his and told her softly about everything that happened that day, of his students.
He summoned Pakkun, knowing that Y/n enjoyed being around him. “Yes Boss?” the gruffy voice of the pug came. He looked around at the hospital and then at Y/n. “Boss Lady?” He walked towards the face and poked her cheek with his little nose. No words needed to be said as he got comfortable and laid down next to her. Her hand still in Kakashi´s he continued talking.
It was around midnight when he felt it. A little squeeze of his hand. He looked at her and saw her eyes open slightly. Taking off his mask he gently held her head up and gave her some water. Pakkun who had woken up settled against her shoulder. Y/n looked at Kakashi her eyes filling with tears. “I couldn´t protect him.” That was all it took for her to break down. Kakashi slowly took her in his arms and settled into the hospital bed himself with her in his lap, his arms holding her tightly while she cried the whole night.
At sunrise, Asuma came to visit her. It was the day of the funeral and he wanted to see if she could come. When Y/n saw her brother the tears fell again. “I´m sor-“she couldn´t finish her sentence as he had taken her into a hug and held her tightly. He was shaking too. The siblings held onto each other and let out their tears.
It was a rainy day and Y/n and Asuma made their way towards the funeral. Everyone was wearing black. Shinobi and civilians. While walking she held onto her brother, her other hand holding a crutch to keep her up. “Was Kurenai tonight with you?” He nodded. “She refused to leave me alone. Even spend the night. I´m guessing you weren´t alone either?” He looked at his sister. Kakashi was a ninja you could count on and someone who would always have your back so he didn´t mind. She just nodded. Condolences came from everyone they met. She couldn´t remember who had talked to her.
When they arrived, they took their place in the first row, as the Hokage´s children. Konohamaru was between her and Asuma while Kurenai took a place by Asuma´s side. Kakashi simply stood next to her and held her up with an arm around her face. She couldn´t look up. She couldn´t face the picture at the front. Konohamaru was now crying and clinging to her, arms holding her clothes tightly. She hugged him as well as she could. Ignoring the pain from her wounds she let him cling to her and was grateful to Kakashi for holding her up.
It started raining. “Rain,” Kurenai said. Asuma gave the woman by his side a small look “The sky has started to weep as well…”
Her father's former teammates and village elders Homura and Koharu lead the memorial service. She could barely listen. After everyone left a white flower at the table she gave Konohamaru into the care of her brother. Kakashi was already gone. She knew where she would find him. At the memorial stone.
How was she supposed to go there? She looked over at Gai who had already guessed what she was about to do. He carried her towards the direction of the memorial stone and left her there. The last bit she could walk herself as well as she could with an umbrella.
He already felt her. Sensed her chakra. She went to his side and brought her arm around him which was difficult with an umbrella at hand. He leaned into her touch, took the umbrella from her hands to hold over them, and pulled her to his side hugging her and supporting her at the same time. She turned to him and put her head on his chest. He reacted while supporting his chin on her head and holding her tighter.
Both were reminiscing the memories of their loved ones who they´ve lost while being in the arms of each other.

The minute He stepped through the gates of the hidden leaf village he was rushing off to find you, not even sparing the rest of his team a glance as he went. He went straight to your apartment, not bothering to stop at his, he had everything he needed and more at your place. Rummaging through the many pockets of his uniform for the spare key you’d given him and opening the door only to find that it was already unlocked.
His brows furrowed, strange. You always remembered to lock your door. Maybe you’d just been extra tired or had a lot going on, he reasoned with himself. It probably just slipped your mind. Even so a little knot of worry formed in his stomach, but he didn’t want to waste the last of his energy on his paranoia so he ignored it, pushing the door open and stepping inside.
When he entered, he’d been expecting to see you on the couch watching a tv show, in the shower, taking a nap or maybe find you in the kitchen baking something to pass the time but not this. Anything but this.
Objects were strewn about, broken glass that sat in a puddle of water was scattered around your floor, drawers were left open – something that you’d never do because it bothered to you to no end – and the once organized interior of them messy. Instantly he knew something was very wrong here.
“Y/n?” Kakashi called, stepping into the apartment cautiously and beginning to search for you. His panic growing with each room he checked; it was obvious someone had broken in, what if someone had taken you? He wasn’t sure he could handle losing you.
Just as he pushed away that awful thought he found you, but it did nothing to quell his worry's. You were laying on your back infront of your bed, a small pool of blood surrounding your head, hand printed bruises on your neck and littering your arms.
His heart dropped and he rushed to you, kneeling down and cradling your head in his hands as he checked your pulse. It was a small relief when he felt a heartbeat thrumming beneath his fingers. Swooping your unconscious figure into his arms he ran to the hospital, faster than he had ever run before, his exhaustion long forgotten and leaving him fueled by nothing but the shear fear of losing you.
___
Warm sunlight streamed into the room through the thin curtains, a small breeze ruffling them as it flowed through the slight ajar window and distorting the consistency of the light. The breeze brought in the sound of chirping birds and bustling people with it. It would have been quiet a nice way to wake up, with your lovers' head laying in your lap as he slept soundly in the chair next to your bed and the sounds of life floating in. That was if you didn’t have a pounding headache from the moment you opened your eyes, and the last thing you remembered hadn't been someone’s hands around your neck throwing you against a wall and then onto the floor.
And at it was at first, when your eyes had just begun to flutter open and your mind was still a clean slate of blissful unawareness. But that could only last for a second before your barley conscious mind began to remember and then you were shooting your eyes open and pushing yourself up with a panicked gasp, looking around frantically as you tried to figure out where the hell you were.
Your rather violent awakening had Kakashi sitting up sharply, blinking the sleep out of his eyes and grabbing hold of you to try and calm you.
“Hey, hey,” his voice called to you, trying to get your attention. Your head snapped towards him, body tensing and flinching away from his voice. Hurt flashed through his eyes, but it was gone in seconds, replaced with understanding, even so he felt his heart break a bit in his chest. If only he had been there to protect you, then none of this would be happening.
He felt guilty for it, felt as if it was his fault because if he had just been there a few hours earlier you wouldn’t have been in a hospital bed at the moment, you wouldn’t have been hurt by those lowly assholes, and you wouldn’t have been out for just over twenty-four hours. No matter how many times he was told it wasn’t on him or how many people told him, he still couldn’t shake the guilt and it weighed him down like an anchor would a ship.
It took a moment but slowly, you began to relax once you’d recognized the sound of his voice, slipping your eyes shut tightly and leaning into him. You hissed in pain at the pounding in your head and Kakashi reached over to the bed side table picking up the bottle of pain killers and a glass of water,
“Here,” he whispered, handing them to you as he’d been instructed to do upon your awakening. You took them gratefully, setting the cup back on the side table once you were done, sighing heavily and tucking your face into the crook of Kakashi’s neck.
“I don’t feel you good,” you mumbled, sounding like a child as you spoke. A small chuckle rumbled through the ninja,
“I wouldn’t expect you to,” he said, and his response cracked a small, quick smile from you. His arms found their way around your waist, pulling you into him. You hummed contently, sitting in silence until the quiet of your mind was disturbed with a question.
“What happened to the robbers,” you asked, pulling back to look him in the eye. His gaze darkened at your question, his voice becoming sharp edged and hard,
“They were taken care off,” he ground out through a clenched jaw. You swallowed heavily at his answer. You felt small under his eyes, and it made you shrink back into yourself, hiding your face in his neck. You weren't sure what his answer meant, but judging by the sheer intensity of his eyes and the simple sentence, you weren't sure you wanted to know. It, once again, reminded you of who exactly the man you were dating was. You may have known him as sweet, gentle, caring and loving but to others that wasn’t the always the case. You hopped you would never have to be the later.

What are we?
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Pairing : Kakashi X y/n
Format : Short drabble fic
Tumblr media
"Y/n we are outnumbered..". Kakashi whispered under his breath as his eyes scanned from one tree to another. To a normal person everything would seem ordinary but only a trained Ninja like Kakashi knew about the dangers lurking between the branches of the dense trees.
"Congratulations Kakashi you can count! I know we are outnumbered but it's us. If there's anyone who could do it, it's us". You whispered back to him. You knew why was he pointing out the obvious. It wasn't because he was unsure of his capabilities of defeating the 20 enemy ninjas, it was a cakewalk for him. He was pointing it out because he was worried about you. This wasn't your first mission with him. Heck this wasn't even your 25th mission with him, but on every mission Kakashi would go the extra step to safeguard you before eliminating the threat. You hated that he didn't think you were capable enough. You wanted to prove yourself.
Us . . . Kakashi liked the sound of that. He knew you meant that you were teammates and that you work exceptionally well together but he wished it could mean something more. He sighed and focused his gaze on on of the trees, "Alright then...". He saw the twinkle in your eye and slight upward curve of your lips as you grabbed your kunai and winked at him before jumping down from your branch. Kakashi sighed and took out his Kunai and followed you.
"Told you we could do it". You winked at him wiping the gunk from blade. "Mmhmmm". He nodded his head as he cleaned off his weapon. "Everything okay Hatake?". You asked tilting your head the side. Kakashi's grip on his weapon tightened and in a flash he turned towards your and threw the Kunai at your direction. Before you could process what happened you heard a loud groan behind you. With dropped shoulders your turned around and saw one of the enemies lying in a pool of blood. "Ahhh fuck man! I missed that one!". You threw your hands in the air as Kakashi walked towards you. He was standing a little too closer than usual and your heart was beating a little faster than usual. "He could have hurt you". You gulped as his voice dropped an octave indicating the seriousness of his concern. "I know ... Ha ha stupid me...but hey...you got him! So yay!". You blabbered on trying to hide how flustered you were. You thought he was angry at you as he should be but then he gently pressed his palm to the side of your face and leaned a little closer. "You okay y/n?". You could have sworn on your life this man was going to give you a heartattack. You immediately took a step back and shook your head trying to shake off the thoughts from your head. "Yeah. Fine. Perfect. Absolutely fine".
"Alright then...". Kakashi turned around to get his bag as his hand that touched your face twitched by his side. His own face was red under the mask as he pulled it down to take a few quick breaths before pulling it up once again. Maybe Gai was right.... Maybe he did feel something...
I haven't posted something in such a long time so I hope you liked it! 💖

Period Pains
Tumblr media
Pairing: Kakashi Hatake x Reader
Genre: Drabble, fluff
Word Count: 1k
Warnings: afab!reader, period/menstruation symptoms, fluff
A/N: I'm in a Kakashi brain rot right now if you couldn't tell. This was originally made for my OC, in a wonderful chat with my lovelies, but I decided it wouldn't be too difficult to turn into a reader insert~
Read it on AO3
Tumblr media
There it was, that familiar feeling in your lower abdomen. The beginning of cramps that you knew would be plaguing you for the next few days, perhaps a week. It was late this time, probably due to stress from your latest mission. You pressed your chapped lips together with a frown.
The cramps were the absolute worst, even with painkillers there would be some days where you were down for the count, not to mention the intestinal discomfort that accompanied them. You wouldn’t be able to be too far from a bathroom for the first few days. A whine of annoyance left your throat. Periods are the worst.
“What’s wrong?”
You glanced at the silver-haired man on the couch next to you and immediately all you wanted was to whine and be coddled by him. You held yourself back though, figuring you could save it for when your sensitivity was at its worst. “My period is coming.”
“Oh, I see,” he set his book down on his lap before running a hand through your undone hair. The both of you had already changed into your sleep clothes.  “Is there anything I can do for you?”
Hold me, rub my cramps away, buy me chocolate- oo no wait cookies. “No, I’m okay for now.”
“You sure? Do you have everything you need?”
“Hm,” You pressed your head further into his hand. “I think so?”
“That sounds more like a question than an answer.”
“I’ll be fine.” He let out a thoughtful hum and brought an arm around your shoulders to pull you into his side. Kakashi kept his arm draped over you and you leaned closely into him as he picked his book back up. “This definitely doesn’t hurt though.”
You were right, the next morning you woke up with painful cramps and an intense need to use the restroom.  Most of that day went relatively alright, your cramps bothered you, but you were still able to do most things, and the second day went by in much the same manner. But the third day was terrible, the absolute worst.
Kakashi had woken you up gently to press a goodbye kiss to your forehead as he headed to work and usually, you loved it, but that morning you were agitated that he had woken you up. So, instead of telling him to be safe, like you usually did, all you managed was an irate goodbye. You went back to sleep for a few more hours after that, then when you finally got out of bed you stubbed your toe on the nightstand that you swore hadn’t always been in that exact spot because you never would’ve stubbed your toe otherwise. Your cramps were killing you, they had you constantly hunched and if you weren’t standing you were curled up in a ball on your bed.
Specifically on his side, because you missed him.
There were so many foods that you were craving but you had none of them and you knew going to the store to get any would be too taxing. You really really wanted something sweet, those cookies you’d thought about the other day, but none magically appeared before you, which also irritated you. You couldn’t focus on anything, nothing was helping. As another wave of intense cramping hit you, you couldn’t help but think about how miserable you were.
Pain-killers weren’t working, your food cravings were going unfulfilled, and you’d even run out of your favorite bubble bath so you couldn’t even try that to relax! You felt so sensitive and there was no one paying attention to you! By the time your boyfriend came home, you were squatting on the kitchen floor sobbing as you tried to open a jar of pickles.
You heard his chuckle- when did he get home? - and glared up at him from your place on the tile. “Don’t laugh,” you pouted, your voice more of a whine than the agitated grunt you had been going for. You sniffled as he squat down beside you, you heard the shuffle of a grocery bag as he set one down beside him. “It’s not funny.”
“No, no, you’re right,” he responded, you could see the upward turn of his lips even under his mask. “It’s definitely not funny.”
Annoyed, you shoved the unopened jar against his chest and he took it, his eyes still wrinkled with mirth. Your agitation grew. The sixth Hokage lowered his mask and gave you that chauvinistic smile that you loved. A huff left you and you pointed and told him, “It won’t open.”
“Well, if a shinobi as strong as you can’t open it, then this can’t be an ordinary pickle jar.”
Another sniffle. “It’s not.”
“I know,” he chuckled again and brought a finger to your eyes to wipe at your frustrated tears.
He looked away from you and down at the jar. The silver-haired man made a show of inspecting it before opening it with one quick twist. You wanted to cry all over again.
Kakashi set the now opened jar down before sliding over and wrapping his arms around you in a tight hug, he couldn’t help the laughs that escaped him every few seconds as he tried his best to console you. “Don’t laugh at me!”
“I’m not, I’m not. Honest.”
Despite you agitation with him you melted into his embrace. His warmth comforting and even those patronizing chuckles caused a weight to lift from your chest. “I loosened it for you,” you insisted.
He hummed in affirmation and pressed a kiss to the side of your head. “Absolutely.”
After a few more seconds you felt a bit better but you still didn’t want him to let you go. You didn’t even care about the stupid pickles and their evil jar anymore. “Can we go to bed early tonight?”
“Of course, but how about we eat these cookies first?”
You peaked down at the bag he held up. They were your favorite cookies, from your favorite bakery, the one across from the bookshop. That time, you did start to cry again. “You love me so much,” you cried.
“Hm, maybe a little,” he teased.
Both of you ate the cookies, you ate the majority, and laid down to go to bed. You felt much better after complaining to him about every minor thing that had gotten on your nerves that day, and soon as his warm hand pressed against your lower abdomen when you spooned, your cramps lessened to an annoying ache. You fell asleep feeling much better and exceedingly loved.

Welcoming Them Back Home (Kakashi, Adult Bakugou & Gojo)
A/N: This request was made by one of the only friend of mine on tumblr @seikohatake ! Thank you so much! You always come up with such cute ideas :3 You guys are welcome to suggest any other character if you want too <3 I'd be more than happy to write about others too.
Kakashi
Tumblr media
It was around when Kakashi was hokage and would rarely come back home on time but regardless you'd wait for him, you loved having dinner with him no matter how late he is.
Since you get off early from work as compared to him you always had the dinner duty and he makes breakfasts even if you suggest otherwise because he needs his rest too. But it is his way of showing his love and affection for you.
So it gives you so much pleasure just preparing dinner for him knowing that he will be all tired and would come home to someone waiting for him and hot food. Given his past, this was your main priority ever since you both came together.
Doesn't matter how late he is you'd always wait for him to have dinner. It actually aches your heart thinking that he'll be having dinner alone when you're away on a mission.
As he enters you rush to greet him with a hug and a kiss and as he sees the dinner you are rewarded another kiss with a, "Oh honey you're spoiling me." and a masked smile. Which he takes off to kiss you again of course.
And as you both have dinner you can see in his eyes how grateful he is to have this and to have YOU. A person who cares so much about him and someone to come home to.
Katsuki (Grown Up Katsuki)
Tumblr media
This is very often for you to get a text that he is stuck with some hero work or has to take someone else's patrol that day so he won't make it to dinner.
In the starting days when you two started living together, he'd force you to have your dinner on time and not wait for him. He loves the sentiment, don't get him wrong but he doesn't want you to have a bad schedule and develop bad eating habits.
It's his job so he cannot really do much about it but you can so, he calls you, again and again, to make sure that you've had your dinner and not waiting for him.
But you still want to talk to him at the end of the day so you wait for him to come back and help him serve his dinner and you two talk as he has his dinner. But not before he makes sure that you've had yours.
He used to shout at anyone who'd talk while having their food but ever since he started hero work and opened his agency this is the only time in the day you get to have a proper talk together and he gets to rant about how annoying and stupid everyone is. Although unlike before he'd stop himself and say, "Well, they're not stupid just annoyingly a bit too emotional. I can deal with that."
When he'd forget to call or text letting you know that he'll be late and comes back home to find you passed out in bed while waiting for him. He won't wake you up if you've had your dinner but if you haven't then it is dinner in bed as you two talk and he does the dishes regardless of how much you insist on doing that.
He'd ask you to go to bed as he quickly does the dishes and if you try to come out of the bedroom he won't let you but that doesn't stop you two from talking because even still you two talk through the walls if your kitchen and bedroom is close enough.
Gojo
Tumblr media
We all know Gojo is way too spontaneous so whenever you're coming back home you never know if you'll enter in an empty home or you'll be served a freshly made matcha as you do.
He can't cook for his life but he still wants to give you the feeling that he made dinner for you so he orders the food and arranges it in the dishes like he made it himself. Well, it is the sentiment that counts right?
And if you're the one making dinner then he'll try to come back home as soon as he can. A. Because he wants to help you out in making the dinner B. Because he doesn't want you to feel like you're doing too much or he's not grateful for it all.
He's still getting used to this so he takes his time to realize that this is not a huge deal and you make him dinner because you want to.
And he sometimes (most of the time) makes a huge mess too while helping you. So you ask him to leave the kitchen but Gojo being Gojo stands at the door and talks from there if you have a kitchen table then slowly ends up sitting there and talking as you make the dinner.
For both of you, the quality time that you two spend together is very important and valuable. You guys could be doing anything from cleaning the house to grocery shopping, but as long as you two are together and able to talk, both of you don't mind.
If he ever comes late and you're fast asleep then the first thing he makes sure of is whether you have had your dinner or not and if not then he'll order something and wake you up and have the dinner in bed as he feeds you most of the time with dim lights so that you don't wake up completely and will be able to sleep again.

Following Team 7's return from the Land of Waves...
“You look like hell.”
“Feel like it too,” Kakashi managed to say, though his voice dripped with exhaustion.
Her brow furrowed as she forgot what she was doing, turning around to follow him. “What happened? I heard your mission went south quick but —,”
“Went from a C to an A as soon as we walked out the gate,” he interrupted, though he kept his eyes forward.
Her eyes widened as the admission, instinctively reaching out to touch his arm. Kakashi flinched at the touch, and she immediately pulled away. “What about your team? Are they —,”
“They’re fine.”
“But you’re not.”
He simply shrugged, that mask of indifference returning as he gave her a smile. It didn’t even reach his eye, however, and she knew better than to believe him.
 “I’ll be okay.”
“You need to go to the hospital, Hatake.”
“Nah.”
She rolled her eyes at his stubbornness, shaking her head. “Whatever you say, Kakashi.”
She turned on her heel to walk away, leaving him to recover from his mission however way he did. She didn’t have the energy to argue with him about how he handled his emotions. If he wanted to talk about it, he could find Gai or someone else —but she wasn’t going to force him to talk to her.
It was his sudden hand on her shoulder that  stopped her, though, causing her to freeze suddenly at his touch. The flinch he had earlier suggested he didn’t actually like touching other people; but the hold he had on her was tight. This was more physical contact than they’d ever had, she was pretty sure.
Glancing over her shoulder, she frowned. He didn’t say anything, simply dropped his hand as if realizing what he had done. Letting out a breath, she turned back to look up at him properly.
“I’m meeting Gemma and my cousin for drinks, if you want to come,” she offered softly, giving him a reassuring smile.
Kakashi hesitated, just briefly, before nodding once. “I’d like that.”
She slipped her hands into her pockets, nodding down the street to the bar where she was meeting Genma and Asuma. Kakashi fell into step with her, though he tried to keep space between the two. She kept glancing at him, trying to see any crack in the façade that he had put up. But even if he was clearly exhausted, Kakashi didn’t let on that anything else was wrong.
He opened the door to the bar, holding it for her. She nodded in thanks, passing by him as Asuma waved her over. Genma smirked around his senbon, kicking a chair out for her to sit in.
“Well, well, well —looks like Miss Konoha managed to get the heartbreak prince himself out and about.”
She sat down, but kicked Genma in the shin, causing him to buckle over and groan. “You know I hate when you call me that.”
Asuma chuckled, flicking ash from his cigarette into the tray. “You’re the one who coined it.”
“When I was nine.”
Kakashi pulled the chair beside her out, sitting down and leaning back casually. Any exhaustion he might have hinted at had disappeared as he smiled at the two jonin across from them.
“Miss Konoha, huh?”
“First female hokage,” Asuma explained, lifting his glass to his lips and taking a sip. “She was insistent as a kid.”
She crossed her arms over her chest, leaning back and looking away as her cheeks heated up in embarrassment. “Better than the heartbreak prince,” she snipped, pouting some.
“I don’t know how I ever got that nickname,” Kakashi admitted, rubbing the back of his neck some. “It’s not like I’ve broken any hearts.”
“ On purpose ,” Genma pointed out, grinning still. “You say no to everyone that asks you out. Breaking hearts left and right, Hatake.”
Kakashi simply shrugged, and she looked back at him with her brow raised. The waitress set down another bottle of sake and two empty glasses, smiling politely at Kakashi and her before hurrying away.
“Except little Miss Konoha,” Asuma teased, and she tried to kick him under the table next but kicked Genma again.
“Ow! What the hell, I didn’t —,”
“If you two are done being annoying,” she interrupted, giving them both pointed looks. “I’d like to drink in peace. Or maybe we can talk about Kurenai , cousin.”
Asuma sputtered, turning red for a moment before giving her a pointed look of his own. “Fine, okay, we’re through.”
The evening continued, the conversation and laughter flowing freely as they recounted their adventures and reminisced about their time as young shinobi. Genma, sitting beside her, seized every opportunity to flirt and engage in light banter. His playful remarks were laced with subtle hints, and he flashed her a charming smile that spoke of his interest. However, she had become adept at feigning obliviousness to his advances, opting instead to focus on the broader conversation. Genma flirted every time they went out; she usually ignored him. Throughout it all, however, she couldn't shake the feeling that Kakashi's attention was still focused on her. She occasionally caught him stealing glances, his lone visible eye studying her with a depth that went beyond their usual interactions.
Genma, in his relentless pursuit, leaned in closer, lowering his voice to a husky whisper, "You know, you're the most captivating person in this room tonight." He traced a finger along the rim of his sake cup, his gaze lingering on her with an intensity that bordered on provocative.
She offered a polite but noncommittal smile, rolling her eyes. "Flattery gets you nowhere, Genma."
Kakashi's subtle glances continued, and she couldn't help but wonder if his silent observations were a response to Genma's advances. Was he trying to protect her, or was there something more significant behind those looks?
As the night progressed, she found herself caught in a delicate balance, deflecting Genma's playful advances with practiced ease. Genma's charming smiles and witty remarks were ever-present, and though they had shared friendly banter in the past, tonight there was an added layer of flirtation that she couldn't ignore. His eyes sparkled mischievously, and his laughter was accompanied by lingering glances that hinted at something more.
Amidst Genma's advances, she couldn't help but steal glances at Kakashi, who seemed to be in a world of his own. His mask of indifference had slipped just enough to reveal a hint of vulnerability earlier, and she couldn’t help but worry about how he was feeling throughout the night. However, navigating Genma’s flirting and her concern for Kakashi was not easy, and it was getting frustrating.
Finally, though, the night drew to a close and the four shinobi stood. Asuma was a little worse off than the rest of them –though she was certain that Kakashi didn’t have a single drink the entire time. While she wasn’t drunk by any means, she was tipsy enough to feel warm inside as Kakashi motioned for her to walk ahead of him. Asuma bid the three of them goodbye as they stepped outside the bar, and she waved her cousin off with a content smile of her own.
Genma decided to take the opportunity to make his move then. He leaned in closer to her, wrapping his arm around her shoulders, and said, "Hey, before we head out, I was wondering if you'd like to grab dinner with me sometime? Just the two of us."
Her heart skipped a beat as she glanced at Kakashi, who had leaned against the pillar outside the bar, reading in the lamplight. His eye darted between her and his book, however, and she caught the glance with an uncomfortable stare.
"I appreciate the offer, Genma, I do –but I don’t have time for dating or anything. Not with my team, and missions,” she explained, rubbing the back of her neck awkwardly as she looked up at him.
Genma's smile faltered briefly, but he quickly masked it with a casual shrug. "No problem, I understand. Just thought I'd give it a shot."
With half a wave and a smile, Genma walked off with a simple goodbye, leaving her and Kakashi standing outside the bar. She watched his retreating figure, making a face as she considered Genma’s offer. It’s not that he wasn’t attractive –he was; and funny. And they got along well. But she wasn’t lying when she said that there just wasn’t time to date. The life of a shinobi didn’t leave room for feelings, let alone actual relationships. Some people were lucky enough –Asuma and Kurenai, or even Minato and Kushina –but even her and Kakashi’s…. situationship was taking up more time in her life than it should have been.
Turning her attention to Kakashi, she found that his demeanor had shifted again, this time from his earlier indifference to something more elusive. He seemed distant, staring blankly at his book –though she knew he wasn’t reading it; his eye wasn’t scanning over the page –and his posture had gone rigid. It was as if a curtain had fallen between them, and she couldn't understand what had changed so suddenly.
"Kakashi?" She ventured cautiously, her concern for him evident in her voice.
He turned to her, his visible eye locking onto hers, but his response was curt and devoid of the warmth she had felt earlier in the night. "I should get going. Thank you for inviting me.”
Before she could utter another word, he turned on his heel and walked away, leaving her standing there. She was bewildered and unsure of what had just happened, really. The night hadn’t been that bad, and even if Kakashi didn’t particularly like socializing, he seemed to have had a good time. The sudden shift in his behavior left her with a sense of unease, and she couldn't help but wonder if it had something to do with what had just happened between her and Genma.
*****
“You should have seen it!” Naruto exclaimed a few days later, having followed her out of the grocery store. “We saved the bridge builder and stopped Gatō too!”
It was her day off, and she had wandered into the grocery store to stock up on a few things before her next mission. Naruto had been picking up his weekly allotment of instant ramen, coming up a little short and huffing in frustration; she offered to pay his tab. This is what prompted him to follow her out into the streets, insisting on carrying her groceries as a thank you.
“It sounds like your mission was successful then,” she replied, looking down at him with a small smile.
“It was a close call,” he admitted, though reluctant to do so. “Sasuke was in pretty bad shape, and Kakashi-sensei was stuck trying to stop Zabuza while I had to fight this kid Haku!”
“Zabuza?” She repeated, brow furrowing. The Demon Hidden in the Mist. Kakashi hadn’t mentioned that the other night; though it explained why he was so beaten down. “Who is Haku?”
“Zabuza’s…well, I guess he was Zabuza’s friend,” Naruto settled on, scratching his chin some as he considered how to describe his opponent. “Haku stepped in front of Zabuza to protect in the end –Kakashi-sensei –well, he…”
But Naruto didn’t need to finish the story because she now understood what had happened.
“Did Kakashi kill Haku, Naruto?” She asked softly, looking ahead now as they walked.
“Yeah,” Naruto murmured, voice softer than she’d ever heard before. “He didn’t mean to; Kakashi-sensei was using this jutsu –his lightning blade –and Haku appeared between him and Zabuza. It happened really fast.”
They stopped outside her apartment door, where she turned and took her groceries from the genin. “Sometimes, in order to do the right thing, we have to make choices that aren’t great,” she explained, opening her door. “If you want to be a great ninja, Naruto, you’ll make tough decisions too.”
“I know,” he replied, nodding in agreement. Then he perked up, grinning at her. “Kakashi-sensei said that we get a break for a little while, but I need to keep training. Could I join your team when you train tomorrow, sensei?”
She hesitated a moment, wondering how that would play out, but then nodded once. Naruto was far too determined for his own good sometimes, but he had just experienced something no other genin normally would at this stage. It would do her team some good to hear about his experiences.
“Why don’t you help me train them tomorrow, instead?” She offered, smiling down at him. “You’ve got some good experience now, maybe you can show them what you learned while you were away.”
“You want me to help teach ?” He exclaimed, practically bouncing on his heels. “For sure, sensei! I’ll see you tomorrow!”
Naruto took off with a whoop and a wave, and she watched as he went off. Shaking her head, she pushed her door open and stepped inside, setting her things down with a sigh. Kakashi’s behavior suddenly made sense; using the Lightning Blade to end a life –end another kid’s life –probably reminded him too much of what happened with Rin.
Perhaps she should pay Rin a visit; see if there was something the kunoichi could do for their friend from beyond the realm of the living.

Glimpse of Her
Kakashi Hatake x FReader
Word Count: 579
A/N: this has been sitting on my docs for a while now gathering dusts lmao so here i am dumping my trash in Tumblr 😂 also, very obviously inspired by Joji's Glimpse of Us
Warning: Angst
Tumblr media
She'd take the world off his shoulders if it was ever hard to move.
She'd turn the rain to a rainbow when he was living in a blue.
She'd heal his wounds with her gentle touch.
She'd comfort his aching soul with her tender smiles.
A glimpse of her took him out from the depths of darkness.
She was his salvation. She was his light.
A glimpse of her allowed him to carry on, to keep moving, to survive.
But now she is gone. Died in his own hands. And now all he sees, all the glimpses of her are her tear-filled eyes. Her eyes that used to be filled with light, succumbing to death.
She sacrificed her life to save the village. In the end, she truly is a salvation.
But her last act of salvation brought destruction in Kakashi's heart.
She once brought him out of this void but now, the glimpses of her sent him back to agonize, to ache, to endure the longing and regrets.
And you tried. You tried to get him out. You tried to stretch your hand out for him. You tried to cast light in the darkness that surrounded him. You tried to make him feel your gentle touch. You tried to take the world of his shoulders if it was ever hard to move. You tried to comfort his aching soul with your tender smiles. You tried to turn the rain to a rainbow when he was living in a blue. You tried to replace her, Rin Nohara.
And he took your hand, allowed himself to feel your touches, and looked at you tenderly. And you were relieved. Ever since you were young ninjas studying at the academy, you've always admired him. He's a genius, brilliant shinobi and you've always dreamed of the day he'd look your way. When Rin died, Kakashi lost a part of him. And you tried to fill the void she left. And oh how happy you were when you felt him reciprocating your touches, your feelings. When he caresses you, such gentleness, such warmth. When he embraces you, you can feel his sweet affections. Oh and when he kisses you, soft, delicate, passionate. But sometimes when you look in his eyes, the truth hits you. He may be in your arms but his mind is elsewhere, his heart belongs to somebody else. Cause when he looks at you, he sees glimpses of her.
Love, the wisdom of the fool and the folly of the wise. You know he still loves her, her who was long gone. That you are contending with the shadow of a dead person. It is foolish. It is absurd to willingly become someone's mere replacement. But you love him. And that reason is enough for you to subject yourself to this one-sided affair.
But as you lay down here, gasping for breath, fighting for your life, you see him. His eyes that look at you tenderly are now weeping. He desperately tried to stop the bleeding, screaming for help. He looks at you, cusping your cheeks, wiping the tears in your eyes.
'Don't leave me', he whispered, sobbing as he gently rested his forehead against yours.
It pains you to see him like this, hurt and suffering. You would never wish this upon him. But what pains you more is when you looked in his eyes, you saw it, even now, he was seeing a glimpse of her.

Kryptonite [NSFW] Kakashi x Fem!Reader
🥀You hate him, but you hate life without him more. What will you do when Kakashi Hatake reappears into your life?🥀
a/n: I wanted to experiment with some darker writing. This read has lots of angst and has some mention of abuse so please do not read if you aren't comfortable with those topics.
I was also thinking of adding on to this story so let me know what you guys think!
warnings: toxic love, some smut, angst, lots of angst, like seriously angsty as fuu, some mention of abuse, nipple sucking, biting, moaning, mdni
Tumblr media
"I wish I never fucking met you!" I scream, launching my glass of wine across the room.
Kakashi ducked, letting it slam against the kitchen wall, shattering it into pieces. His eyebrows pulled together, glaring back into my teary eyes approaching me slowly.
"I fucking hate you!" He screams, placing his hand around my neck before slamming me back against the pantry door. His heavy breathing coaxed my skin while his eyes continued to pierce into mine.
"I have never met someone so unbearable, so lost, so... so-" he paused like he just realized what he was doing to me. His eyes widened. I felt his fingers loosening the grip he had around my neck, letting them fall to the side.
He wanted to hate me, to loathe me, but he couldn't. No matter what he tried, tears collected in the corner of his eyes as he watched me lose all the light I had in my eyes.
"Then why the fuck are you here? Why not go? Leave! I don't fucking care anymore!" I plead, feeling the pain in my raspy voice echo throughout my apartment, paralyzing him in place.
A ferocious scream expelled from the depths of his chest before slamming his hand back onto the pantry door, staring deeper into my broken soul. I felt the raging flames in his heart begin to settle when he exhaled deeply, turning himself away from me. My eyes stayed glued on him as he started pacing around my kitchen, rubbing his temples with the pads of his fingers.
This is exactly how I remembered it before. I haven't seen him in months. Even though we have been broken up for a while it was like we were right in the same place again, screaming at each other saying anything to make the other person hurt. But it couldn't be helped.
My heart yearned for Kakashi no matter how hard I tried to convince myself that he wasn't good for me. He was like oxygen to me. Filling me with life when he was around, but soon leaving me breathless when I was without him.
"I can't do that" he said quietly under his breath. He stood facing away from me, refusing to let me see the desperation in his eyes. He always tried to hide his feelings but I knew he cared for me. I knew there was a place he had reserved for me in his heart. A place that he hasn't touched in months.
"You cant do that? You've done it before. What's the difference?!" I could feel the rage I had in my heart thicken while I glared at the back of his unruly silver head.
"I love you..." he mumbled under his breath. "thats why I cant leave."
The blood in my veins begin to boil, ripping through each cell in my body. Pain filled in every inch, overflowing out of my mouth as a chuckle escaped my lips.
"You love me?" I scoffed, letting my hand rub the burning pain I felt around my neck. "You never fucking loved me."
In an instance he turned back to me, planting his palms inches from my head making impact with the pantry door again. Tears started flowing from my eyes like a stream, looking up to the sharp features of his face as he tries to withhold the anger within himself.
"Please... I'm- I'm so sorry y/n..." A tear fell from his eyes onto my cheek like a drop of rain. His silver strands dangled over me, swaying as his muffled breath seeped from the top of his mask.
The silence between us became unbearable. It felt like a thousand needles were piercing themselves into my skin. My mind wandered carelessly, not knowing if I wanted to kiss him or slap him. Almost like the strings in my heart were being tugged in all sorts of directions.
I'm sorry became a phrase I heard too often from his lips. Every one being empty in meaning. But regardless of how much I knew those words meant nothing to him, I forgave him. Every fucking time.
I couldn't do it anymore.
"I don't believe you" I said shakily, clenching my fist like it was holding on to the only string of sanity I had left. I could feel the pieces in my heart break apart like the shattered glass on the floor.
There was nothing more that I wanted than to forgive him and forget all of the pain that lingered in my heart. I became so good at burying it so deep inside that I could almost convince myself it never happened, but over time those roots began to grow, conquering every inch of my life. It felt like I was reaching for a piece of hot coal from a fire, expecting it to burn less every time I tried to pick it up.
My hands grasp onto his collar before pushing him away from me and storming pass him. I didn't make it far before I felt his hand grab onto my wrist, yanking me back towards him. His other hand wrapped around my waist pulling me in closer, letting my heart rest on his chest.
He stayed silent, closing his eyes while his forehead rested against mine. I felt his eyebrows pulled together, as if they were trying to catch any thought he had in his mind to form into words to say.
But he couldn't.
All I could feel was the pain and despair that laid behind those lips.
"Just as I thought." I said under my breath, pushing him away from me again. His tense shoulders slumped over him in defeat, letting his heavy bones paralyze him. I've never seen him give up so easily. He couldnt process anything besides the sounds of my feet tapping against the tile floor as I walk to a drawer in my kitchen, sliding it open to rummage inside.
Kakashi's eyes still couldn't meet mine. His face stayed planted towards the floor, letting the tears in his eyes fall freely to his feet. Seeing him in pain was something that always made my stomach curl into knots. I loved him, I didn't want to be the one to break his heart. But it was my turn to be on the other side. It was my turn to be the one that inflicted the pain. It was miserable. I couldn't help but wonder how he was able to do that to me so many times before.
The rustling noise from my hand stopped, pulling out a diamond ring before slamming it down on top of the counter. It had a small stone with our initials engraved onto the inside of the skinny gold band.
"Take this with you" I demanded with a broken voice. His eyes peeled from the floor to the ring on the counter, exhaling deeply before looking back up to me. I could see the pain physically start to break him like the branches that fell from a tree. It hurt me to watch. I felt like I couldn't breath.
The ring brought back so many memories. Ones that I wished I could live in forever. Remembering the nights he spent in between my legs, making me moan his name while my fingers combed through the locks of his silver hair. Or how I would jump in the bath with him after his missions, taking care of the scrapes and bruises he had patterned all over his body. Even remembering the times he was able to fall asleep because I was there with him, glued onto his chest.
Those memories replayed so vividly in my head. It was perfect. So why? Why couldn't he see that before? I wanted to cry even more but I physically couldn't. Just looking at him was exhausting.
"Don't do this..." He pleaded, glaring into my somber eyes. Silence coated the room, leaving nothing but the sniffling sound of my nose as I try to catch my breath.
He approached me again until his chest was hovering over my forehead. I look away quickly to avoid the eyes I could get lost behind so easily. His breath was touching the top of my head as his hand softly placed itself on my cheek.
"I still want to marry you." He said quietly into my ear before lifting my chin up to face him.
Rage broke through every last barrier I had in my heart as I smack his hand away from my face. I wanted to scream, I wanted to cry, and I wanted to punch him in the face for repeating those words to me.
A monster was brewing inside me, and all I wanted to do was unleash it onto Kakashi. My eyebrows pull together, glaring at him with such animosity and hatred. Regardless of what intimidating look I tried to give him, his eyes stayed with mine. Almost like he wanted to feel every ounce of pain I had in my heart. Like he wanted to fight the monster he created.
"I am not falling for that anymore Kakashi," I place the ring in his palm, never losing sight of his broken eyes. "No matter what you say, I still don't believe you."
Once those words left my mouth it was like I took the last bit of oxygen he had left in his lungs. He began to weep, falling to his knees in front of me as he held onto my wrists.
It reminded me of the times I pleaded for him, begging him to love me the way I loved him. I would scream, cry, do anything in the world to keep him with me but he always left, leaving me alone in the void of my mind.
"Please! I need you!" He screamed, letting his cries grow heavier.
"You need me? Where were you when I needed you?! I'm done Kakashi" I scoffed, glaring down to his head as he pressed his forehead against my thighs. "How could you look me in my eyes and tell me you still want to marry me? How could you continue to lie to my face after all the things you put me through."
"It was a mistake... I-I swear." He said softly, breathing heavily around my thighs.
"A mistake?! Kakashi you left me at the altar the day we were going to get married. I waited for you at the foot of the chapel the whole night until the sun came up the following day, just hoping that you would come to your senses. But you never did. And if that wasn't enough, I went back to that chapel everyday for a week and waited for you in the same white dress." My voice cracked remembering all of the hurt all over again.
"People ridiculed me, they tried to convince me that I was a fool. But I loved you so much that I chose to ignore them and stand up for you, protecting you from the shame people wanted you to feel. Until the very last second I fought for you. Even when I caught you plunged deep inside some fucking whore, I begged you to stop. I begged you to come back to me. But you laughed in my face before you pushed me out of your apartment, slamming your door in my face."
The silence in the room felt like it was screaming. His guilt was eating him alive preventing him from forming any type of thought.
"I had to watch the person I loved the most erase me from their life and pretend that everything we built together was a lie." my voice continued to weaken as the pain infiltrated every inch of my chest. "All of it wasn't a mistake Kakashi... It was a choice."
His puffy red eyes peered up to mine, desperately looking for any sign of sympathy. His heart was rattling in his chest, trying to find the right words to say to me.
"I was scared y/n. I was scared that if you got too close that you would end up hurt just like everyone else I lost in my life. I was trying to protect you-"
I didnt even let him finish before I pulled him off of me. My raging eyes glaring down to him as I crossed my arms. Even though I was infuriated, deep down I wanted to hold him and tell him that it was all going to be okay but I couldn't. I spent months trying to heal and build back my confidence, only for it to come crashing down the moment I saw him in my door way.
"You've always been scared Kakashi, I knew that about you way before we even said I love you. Even when you tried to push me away I was always there to catch the pieces and put them back together." I could see the muscles in his jaw tense at my words, letting his tears continue to fall from his eyes.
"Kakashi I know you regret everything. I know that you still feel the same pain I do. But I also know that you are only here to mend the ache you have in your heart, hoping that I can make it go away. But I can't do that. I am not that weak person anymore."
The anxiety built up in his chest, making him feel like he couldn't breath. The only sliver of hope he had fell apart in front of him, leaving his heavy heart to slip into the numbness of his mind.
It wasnt till I felt his grip tighten slightly that I realized how hard he was trying to make things right. He inhaled deeply, gathering all the strength he could before he continued.
"I know I hurt you in more ways than I could count. I know I am a shitty person. But I also know that somewhere deep in your heart you were hoping to see me again. Somewhere deep in your soul you knew that your heart belonged to me and that I belonged to you. Thats why you let me in, thats why you held onto the ring, thats why you're still here in front of me." His tone left me paralyzed, watching as he stood up from the floor.
His hand slowly began removing the mask from his face as he got closer. My eyes darted towards his lips, admiring them as they hover over my face. All I could think about was tasting them one more time. Tingles traveled all the way down my spine, filling my stomach with butterflies.
As much as I was trying to deny it, I knew he was right. I still love him. Even after spending months apart, I held onto his ring. His stupid ring that made me smile more than anything in this world. It was the only sign I received that proved his love was real for me, and I held onto it dearly.
His hand reached for my left hand, slowly lifting it up to his chest. His other hand slowly slid the ring back onto my finger before kissing the back of my hand.
I could feel my blood rushing to my cheeks when I saw the ring back on my finger. It almost felt as good as it did the first time. My heart began pounding out of my chest when my eyes lifted to meet his. He was still crying, but not from fear.
But from love.
" I fucking hate you" I wept holding onto his hand even tighter while I lean my head onto his chest. The beating of his heart echoed in my head, turning down the volume from all of my painful thoughts.
His arms wrapped around me bringing me closer as his lips planted firmly against the top of my head. I could hear him sigh in relief the moment he was able to hold me in his arms.
"I know, I hate me too. But I couldn't live with myself if I didn't try to fix the best thing that has ever happened to me." He peeled me away from his chest so that the only thing I could pay attention to was the yearning in his eyes. The corner of his lips curled, filling in the absence I felt inside my heart. "I love you, more than anything in this world. And I am so sorry it took me this long to figure it out. Even if you choose to never speak to me again just know I will fight for you everyday like you fought for me, even if it means I have to fight for the rest of my life."
He pulled me in to him, planting his soft lips onto mine. Fireworks ignited in my heart as the feeling of his tongue found its way into my mouth. My arms found refuge around his neck letting my fingers run though the locks of his hair.
Kissing him felt like home, something I haven't felt in a while. It was like a high that I never wanted to come down from.
His hands traveled from my waist to the the backs of my thighs, lifting me up so I could wrap my legs around him. I couldn't control myself. It was like everything melted way at the touch of his lips. Every part of my body ached for him. It felt like fire was burning in the pit of my stomach, burning away at the darkness that surrounded me when I couldn't be with him.
He placed me on top of the counter, letting his bulging erection rest between my legs. My hands curled at the hem of his shirt, lifting it over his head before tossing it onto the floor. The pads of my fingers caressed his chest, feeling the warmth that radiated from his skin.
Our mouths kept dancing with one another, letting the music from our lips play throughout the room. The tension between us kept heating up, making him rip my shirt off of my body to further press his chest against mine. My breast bulge out of the cups of my bra, hardening the erection he had between my legs.
His lips grazed my face until they met the nape of my neck. His teeth bite on me softly before sucking on my skin. I could feel my walls tighten, like they were desperate to feel him inside. A moan escaped from my tongue causing the corner of his lips curl. It was like music to his ears.
It was a sound he could never get enough of. I know he has slept with plenty of women, but something about the way my lips would sing his name made him absolutely numb. Like he was getting high off of it.
His fingers slide under the straps of my bra, dropping them off of my shoulders. His teeth detached from my skin as his lips grazed down my chest. His right arm reached around to my back, unclasping my bra, watching it as it falls onto my lap. His lips wasted no time, finding their way to my nipples.
My toes curl the moment his teeth bite onto my sensitive bud, gasping from the vibrating wave of arousal that traveled down to my core. My back begins to arch, moaning again at his touch. He peered up to look at me, flashing a sinister smile I knew too well.
It was a smile that always led me into trouble. One that would always leave a scar on my heart. The memories start flooding back into my mind, remembering every time the same troubling smile left me vulnerable and weak. I pushed him away from me, bringing my bra back to my chest, looping the straps back over my shoulder.
How could I be so foolish?
"NO! I told you I am not weak anymore!" I shouted, jumping off the counter. "You can't do this to me any more! I deserve better!"
I bend down to reach for my shirt just before I tried to storm off. He caught me before I could, gripping me around my hips before pulling me back into him. His chest rested against my back making enough room for his erection to rest along my ass. I could feel the tension from his heated breath against my shoulder as his arms wrap tighter around my waist.
"I'm sorry, I shouldn't have done that." He whispered into my ear, letting the silence coat the room once more. "I'll stop. I'll do what ever you need me to do."
I stood in silence in his arms, letting his voice linger in my mind. The desperation in his voice was sincere, making my mind wander at a million miles per hour. He stayed there with me, just breathing in the sweet scent of my floral perfume. I could feel his heart beat against my back, increasing as each second passes by.
"I'm scared Kakashi." I whispered under my breath, looking down to my torn shirt.
He nuzzled his head into my neck as his arms gripped me tighter around my waist. I could feel a tear drip onto my back as he whispered "I know"
Truth be told he was scared too. Not because he was afraid I wouldn’t give him another chance, but because he was afraid he would hurt me all over again. It terrified him.
When Kakashi gets sucked into the infinite darkness that he has in his heart, he loses every sense of control. He starts to lose touch with others, binge on his bad habits, and overall drown in his own depths of hell. Over the years he grew to hate a lot of things but none of them compared to the hate he had for himself.
When he met me it all changed. The agony that haunted him for years disappeared the moment he found me in his arms. Like I was shielding him from the constant pain he felt stabbing through his heart. He felt warmth, comfort, and love.
It was terrifying. What would you do if everyone you ever loved fell to the same fate?
Death.
Sorrow.
Pain.
To him, loving me from far became the only option. He knew that the moment I was no longer able to breath that he would do anything to stop breathing too. He would slip into the darkness and let it control what ever it wanted. It was an unfathomable pain the he would never be able to overcome.
The silence was thick in the kitchen, standing there, letting our beating hearts melt in each others arms.
"Why did you do it?" I asked quietly, listening to his whimpering breath.
He took a long pause, letting his tears drip onto my back, squeezing me harder.
"When I left I thought I was doing the right thing. When things got dark I couldn't control myself and because of that I kept putting you through hell. I found myself lashing out at you and hurting you until you bled. It scared me. After that incident I was trying to find ways to end my life because I couldn't be the person to hurt you anymore. Yet through it all you still found the courage to love me. You were right when you said you deserve better than me." His hands turned me around to face him, watching the tears still fall from his eyes.
"But I was never able fully leave you. I never kept my eyes off of you. I would watch over you while you worked, while you slept, even when you went out with your friends. I was hoping that over time you would heal yourself and move on, but then I realized that it was me who had to heal."
He reached for my hands and raised them above his shoulder, pulling me in closer to his lips. My fingers find their home twirled around the locks of his silver hair. His bulge pressed firmly against my stomach while his hands held me in place.
"No matter what other men had to offer, I knew you were still looking for a piece of me in them."
Everything I did around him was instinctual. My nipples would harden at the sight of his smile, my pussy would throb when he licked those lips. Everything becomes hazy and the only thing I could think about his throbbing length filling me until I'm full.
His hand grasped onto to my hair, pulling it back until I am showing him my neck. I could feel my inner lips become wetter, dampening the center of my thong. I bite onto my bottom lip, electrifying the beast in him. He stared at my skin growing hungrier for the taste of my skin.
His soft kisses traveled from the nape of my neck to my earlobe, sucking on it softly sending goosebumps along my skin. He pulled back slightly with his lips hovering over my earlobe.
"Do you know how hard it was for me to watch you fuck these other men? Knowing that no one can make you feel the way I can. "
His hand slipped under my skirt causing me to gasp. His finger traveled up between my legs until it reached the hem of my underwear. He grazed his finger to the center of my clothes slit, feeling the pool of nectar collecting in my thong.
"I haven't even played with you yet and look at how wet you get for me."
I am whimpering at his touch, feeling myself get wetter by the second. I pullled him into me, letting my tongue slip passed his lips. Heat was traveling through my body at lightning speed, sending shockwaves of arousal to every cell in my body.
I felt the tips of his fingers grip onto me tighter as if he was afraid I would disappear. His groin growing stiffer ever second that he couldn't be inside me.
He moved his finger away from the crevice of my pussy and placed it back on my ass. I could feel him grip me softly when he bites down on my lower lips casing me to moan. My gaze came back to his lustful eyes, losing complete control of my body.
Everything cell in my body wanted to take on more. As much as I wanted to be strong for myself I was weak when it came to Kakashi. He was my kryptonite and I was his. We were like magnets.
Everybody hated that I was with him, but being without him was something that I hated even more. For others he is difficult to understand but for me he made sense. WE made sense.
"Kakashi-" I moaned, begging him to bend me over and fuck me until I could barely walk.
He smiled as he pressed against my lips, feeling his pre-cum coat the tip of his dick. His insatiable hunger for the warmth of my cunt woke up the beast inside him, lifting me up and slamming me back into the pantry door.
His hands reached under my skirt, pulling at the waistband of my thong. The muscles in his body begin to tense up like an animal that is ready to pounce on its prey, but he suddenly pulled himself away.
"I'm sorry," He quickly steps back scratching his scalp with the tips of his fingers. "I-I didnt mean-"
I quickly grab him by his collar, pulling him closer to my lips.
"I need you Kakashi"
His face flushed red, widening his eyes as he looks at his desperate ex. He smiled, wiping away some of the dried tears I have on my face. He lifted me up by my chin, pecking my on the lips before pulling away from me again.
"I promised you I wouldn't" His hands interlocked with my mine, staring passionately into my eyes. "Trust me I would love to feel you cum all over my dick, but you becoming my wife means so much more to me."
He leaned down and kissed me on my forehead before putting his shirt back on. My mouth stayed parted, taken back by Kakashi's actions as he prepares to walk out of the door.
He smiled at me again as he lifted his mask back over his nose. I could feel my cheeks blush, falling back in love with the man I needed the most. It was like a breath of fresh air.
"Kakashi!" I stopped him just before he stepped out of my doorway.
His gaze came back towards me causing my heart to explode out of my chest. I could tell that his eyes weren't as sad as they were before. They were glistening with joy listening to me singing his name.
"Come back to me, okay?" I asked him softly, feeling the butterflies travel to my throat.
His eyes widened with hope and excitement. Like no darkness existed in his heart anymore. Even through his mask I could see that he was smiling from ear to ear. It was enough to make me melt.
"I promise."

ALTERNATIVE UNIVERSE.
AFTER A LONG UNEXPECTED FIGHT KAKASHI AND TEAM 7 APPEAR IN A WORLD THAT DOESN’T BELONG TO THEM BUT THEY WILL HAVE TO TAKE INTO THEIR HANDS AND MAKE IT WORK, BECAUSE IF YOU CAN MAKE IT THERE YOU CAN MAKE IT ANYWHERE. WILL THE CITY OF NEW YORK BE TOO MUCH FOR THEM?
KAKASHI/FEMREADER, ORIGINAL CHARACTER. SOON IN AO3.
Tumblr media
The City That Never Sleeps.
Kakashi knew this was a lost battle. He only needed to earn some time to find a way to get out of it with dignity and safe and sound. Once again, he coursed Lord Third from sending him and his rookie team on a mission that was too much for them.
Of course, everything started with a low-rank mission in which Kakashi, Naruto, Sakura and Sasuke would have to move some files from Konoha to the Sound Village, no more, no less, and deep inside him, Kakashi knew that that would only mean trouble. As if Hiruzen didn't know the situation well. With Orochimaru following Sasuke's steps, the seal on the kid's shoulder getting weaker every day, and Sakura and Naruto not training as he would like to, this stupid mission would only be a disaster at any moment. And Kakashi once more was no wrong.
Ten rogue ninjas circled them. Kakashi knew them well. They were all in the Bingo Book; they were strong, and something about them made them no ordinary. He wondered if this was just a random attack or a planned one. Even if they were rogue shinobis from the Sound Village, he had already identified them, and it seemed like a very well-planned attack. Organized, practical and clean. Were they after the files or after Sasuke? Or, even worst, would they be after the Kyubi?
Time... Kakashi needed time. It didn't sound logical to go after some old files. Even if he didn't know what they had inside, he knew enough to understand that the ten ninjas were too many assets for some papers. If Orochimaru was directly behind the attack and he wanted Sasuke, then he wouldn't have allowed his minions to hurt the boy; quite the contrary, so they must have been targeting Naruto, right?
Time... Why? Why couldn't he think clearly and come up with a saviour idea? Maybe because he was too preoccupied with the kid's safe, who were already exhausted and hurt for trying to fight back, perhaps because he was too angry, again, with the Sandaime for the decisions he made in which Kakashi felt like constantly losing, or maybe it was just the Sharingan draining what was left of his chakra fighting these idiots.
He didn't have the time to keep on wondering things. He had to act. He would end with the ten ninjas on his own if it was necessary, no matter how. It was awful, even for him, but he would if he had to use it. One more shot and It could be done: Kakashi would use the Mangekyō, and it would be all.
Fog, red, grey and black were all that surrounded Kakashi. His left eye hurting like hell and the torturous screams from the ninjas sounded in his ears. It worked. He finally defeated the rogue ninjas, and Sasuke, Sakura and Naruto would be okay eventually. He had to let the Mangekyō go, or he would lose consciousness. However, something caught his attention: behind the fog, the leftovers of the fight, the shinobis still trapped in the jutsu, the red and black, and the dizziness, there was a man, and Kakashi knew that something worst than all his speculations was about to happen.
Danzō was there in front of him, undaunted. Looking at him with pettiness and hunger at the same time. Kakashi heard his voice. He said something about his stolen Sharingan, that bastard. He also said something about Minato Sensei, but Kakashi was too weak to react.
"It's time Kakashi." Danzō said, "It's over, and you are not going to be capable of doing anything this time." And just like that, the maniac man in front of him pulled out an old scroll, and when he started unrolling it, the world around Kakashi began to turn, and everything around him started to shake and tremble below his feet.
Kakashi had time for only one movement, he could have killed Danzō right there once and for all, but he wasn't going to leave unprotected his children, so with the only strength left that he had, he jumped over the three boys letting the darkness embraced him and with some luck his dead father, Obito, Minato and Rin too.
————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————-
"Kakashi Sensei...Sensei." Sakura said, shaking Kakashi's arm a little.
"Is he...? Is he..." Sasuke's voice sounded stressed for the first time in what seemed a lifetime.
"You have to do it louder Sakura-Chan!!" Naruto said in his always too cheery voice, "Like this: Sensei!!!! Kakashi Sensei!!!"
"Stop it, you idiot. What if you hurt him more? Move," Sasuke said, moving Naruto away. "Sakura, we need to get to Konoha General, what do we do?"
"I don't think we are in Konoha anymore, kids..." Kakashi said, looking around a hating every minute of his life since he left his bed early that morning.

Love me Mercilessly
Chapter 9: Smoke
Akami is forced to recount her past to Minato (and the council). Unveiling the truth about her father only adds to Orochimaru's long list of crimes. In doing so she has to admit to her own disgraceful acts; the ones that keep her up at night.
Warnings: mentions of trauma, manipulation, canonical character death.
Word count: 3k
Catch up here! Ao3
Minato wanted to give her time, but they didn’t really have time. They needed any lead on Orochimaru they could find.
Minato knocked on Akami's door early the next day. Kushina sent him with food. She said it was hard to talk on an empty stomach. Akami was hesitant to eat. Minato had told her that his wife made it especially for them and he couldn’t wait for them to meet. He convinced her enough to take a bite. It was nothing special really, just some Onigiri; something she had a dozen times. But she had never eaten anything that tasted so good, she swore she could taste it with every fiber of her being. So they ate and he listened as she recounted everything she tried so hard to forget.
**
Once Orochimaru had come across Hashirama Senju's DNA a new pet project was born; he would have a child.
Mold that child in his image and create a new God of Shinobi. First he needed to find a mate with a strong Kekkei Genkai and a weak resolve.
He found that in Umiko Ketsueki, a Konohagakure kunoichi crushed by the weight of this unforgiving world. Umiko was a descendant of the Yuki clan from the Land of Water. Her family had escaped the Civil war years ago, finding refuge in the Hidden Leaf Village but she was all that remained. The Yuki clan had a rare Kekkei Genkai, the yielders having both Water and Wind nature; granting them Ice release.
Orochimaru was a cautious man. He wasn’t sure if a body could unnaturally withstand the stress of maintaining two Kekkei Genkai. So he tested his theory on Umiko first.
She didn’t seem to develop any sort of abilities, not mokuton and certainly not regeneration. In fact she was dying.
Well maybe he needed to start earlier, introduce the foreign bodies to the immune system in childhood, children were much more adaptable after all.
Orochimaru was cross when his daughter was born, he had coveted a son.
Since Umiko had fallen ill it seemed Akami would come to be his only child. He didn’t want to waste such a rare specimen. Orochimaru managed to capture many children for his experiments, but none seemed to work. The children were dying too. It didn’t matter their age, or weight, the level of chakra they had or didn’t have. They all died.
He continued to train his daughter, but his interest was waning. When they moved further into fire country, he thought of a wonderful new use for his little girl.
**
Orochimaru heard rumors of a clan that could turn to smoke, the Iburi clan. He needed samples, he needed to understand how it worked. He needed to gain their trust.
And how wonderful for him that there seemed to be plenty of children in this clan.
What purpose would they have to fear a child? He supposed his daughter was cute. She resembled her mother quite a bit, but not nearly as beautiful as Umiko.
**
Orochimaru returned to their hideout late one night.
He knew exactly where to find his daughter at this hour. He slithered into his study and as predicted there she was. Sitting cross legged on the floor leaning against the bookcase reading about the History of the Land of Iron. Akami liked his study, and so long as she stayed out of his lab Orochimaru didn’t mind her reading through his collection.
“I have a task for you, my pet.” Akami closed the book as her father spoke, keeping a finger squished between the pages to mark her place.
“You see there’s this clan, I need them. And they certainly need me. I want you to...get close to them.”
“Get close?” She questioned.
“Yes, I want you to make some friends. There are plenty of children in the clan. You can play with them, gain their trust. Learn from them.”
“I can go play?” She asked, masking a smile and making sure she had heard him correctly.
“Yes, but it is important that you not tell them too much about us, not until I tell you. For now just play nice. No, no you won't’ be needing those blades, hand them over.”
She had become attached to the blades her mother had given her. They had this beautiful emblem engraved in the metal just above the hilt. She didn’t want to part with them, but nonetheless she listened to her father.
**
Akami was apprehensive but excited. She sat by a tree day in and day out, watching the kids play too shy to confront them. They played in a ditch, corralled in by earth. She was sick of being hidden in the earth.
After watching them for a few days one of the boys had come over to where she was sitting.
“Do you want to play with us?” He gestured towards the group of kids. Akami nodded. The boy extended his hand to her, she looked at it confused. When she made no motion to take it, he grabbed her hand and hauled her to her feet. He asked for her name.
And supplied his own with a smile. “Tenzo.”
They taught her a game they had made up, she learned the rules quickly and won the third time they played and every time after that. She found she quite enjoyed winning. Tenzo was nice, and she was having fun: so much so that she forgot why she was there. She didn’t really care much, not even when her father had been cross with her for learning nothing more than Tenzo had a little sister.
**
Tenzo brought Akami to meet his family. She quickly took note that many of the adults would wince in pain, and that no one in their clan looked very old at all. The first time she saw one of them turn to smoke she gasped, not from fear but from excitement.
Tenzo’s father seemed hesitant to reveal their clan's secrets, but she was just a little girl afterall. So he explained.
Their clan had a Kekkei Genkai that would allow them to turn to smoke, it was stronger in the youngsters of the clan, but it was incredibly difficult to control.
Akmai wanted to know more, but she kept the rest of her questions to herself. When she returned home she thought maybe father would know, he knew a lot of things. So she told him what she learned.
He smiled at her and patted her head, “you’ve done well my pet.”
**
Akami continued to play with Tenzo,  and he became her friend. Her first and only friend.
While the two played near his home they overheard sounds and voices coming from the nearby town. Tenzo sighed.
“I wish we could go into town.” Akami knew she shouldn’t go anywhere without her father, but why couldn’t he go.
“The world is dangerous for me and my people. If we turn to smoke and get blown away, we could die. So we have to stay here.”
“So that’s why you live underground?” She mused. “I can’t go either, father makes me stay at home.”
“We should leave! We could run away, go anywhere!” Tenzo took her hands.
“My clan doesn’t get it. They’re happy to wait here to die. I’d rather travel the whole world!”
She thought about the things she read in Orochimaru’s books, scrolls of  jutsu he had taken from villages all around the world. She wanted to see those villages some day...
Akami laid awake that night imaging what the rest of the world was like. She and Tenzo could run away and have adventures like the main character from her favorite book. Tales of Gutsy Ninja. This book was different. Her father didn’t have any others like it.
When Orochimaru found her reading it he had been furious, she didn’t understand why.
He was so angry that he threatened to feed her to Manda; she knew he wouldn’t or rather couldn’t as Manda far preferred her. Still it was frightening when he was angry.
When he eventually left her alone again she went back into his study and took it down from the top shelf, she needed to know how it ended.
Tenzo would like that book too, maybe she would sneak it out for him.
**
“Akami my pet, I’m going with you today. I think I can save their clan.”
If he could fix them Tenzo and her really could leave!
Akami introduced her father to the Iburi clan leaders; she admitted that she had a Kekkei Genkai as well and that he had been the one to help her control her abilities. She boasted endlessly of his knowledge and Orochimaru so generously offered to help his daughter's new friends.
He had taken blood samples from most of the adults. He knew it wasn’t enough, but he had to be patient. As he suspected, their blood reacted well to the samples he had gathered from [Jugo’s*] clan.
Orochimaru was right, the curse seal helped stabilize their Kekkei Genkai. It didn’t fix the problem but it helped. They trusted him more. This was good, everything was going to plan. But Akami was getting too comfortable. He had to fix that. She belonged to him. This Tenzo boy was a bad influence.
**
Orochimaru had spoken with Tenzo’s father for quite some time. Tenzo would be coming home with them. Akami was so excited, she couldn’t wait to show him all of her favorite books. She'd finally have a friend to talk to; she wouldn’t be alone anymore.
It was late when they returned home and Orochimaru sent the children to bed. Akami was too excited to sleep, she crept out of her room and retrieved her beloved book from her father’s study. She knocked on the door of the spare room and when Tenzo didn’t answer she went inside. Only Tenzo wasn’t there, she searched for him but couldn’t find him. There was only one place left to look.
Akami stood in the doorway of her fathers lab and found Tenzo cowering in the corner of the room crying, she clutched the book tighter to her chest.
“Tenzo..?”
When he looked up at her he looked angry. “I want to go home!” He cried out. “I don’t want to be here anymore!”
Why was he in here?
“Tenzo, let's go back to my room, I brought you this.” She pulled the book from her chest to show him.
“We can run away and have adventures like-”
“I don’t want to go anywhere with you! I want to go home!” Tenzo recoiled further away from her.
Akami was upset, confused and angry. Why was he saying this? This wasn’t supposed to happen, they were supposed to run away!
She heard soft clicking coming from the other side of the room. Orochimaru leaned off the wall shaking his head and walked towards his daughter.
“Such a shame my pet.”
What was going on?
“It would appear that this whole time he was only using you.”
“Using me..?” She whimpered under her breath.
“Yes.” He hissed. “He wanted your help. He wanted to save his clan. He’s not your friend, my pet. He deceived you. He doesn't care about you.”
Akami let the book fall from her hand. Tenzo said nothing and refused to look at either of them.
“He got what he wanted, I helped his clan. Look at him, he fears you now. He knows it's the truth. He doesn't truly want your friendship. He was only nice to you because he needed you. He played with you because he saw how weak you were. He just wants to cling to his measly life. But we both know he doesn't deserve it, not when he deceived you. Kill him, my pet.”
Orochimaru placed a knife in her empty hand where her worn beloved book slipped from her grasp. She looked down at the knife. Its weight was comforting, the cold steel consoled her.
But...she didn’t want to kill him. He was her friend? Or he wasn’t? He lied to her this whole time? But father…he wouldn’t lie to her would he? He had taught her everything she knew, about ninjutsu, about the world, about who she was. Mother was gone, father was all she had left.
Her mother was weak and now she’s gone.
“He’s beneath you, my pet. You’d be doing the world a favor.”
Akami looked again at Tenzo.
“Tenzo.. Is it- is it true?” He was looking straight ahead and didn’t say a word. If not for his body shaking she would have believed he was frozen solid.
“Aww he can’t even admit his treachery." Orochimaru hissed.
"You know you really should have seen this coming....All of this could have been avoided, but you were so desperate for a friend…and he knew it.” Orochimaru came to stand behind her, encouraging her.
“It’s okay, he deserves it. Go on, just like I showed you. You can end him quickly if you like.”
Tenzo had lied to her. She was stupid to think she could have a friend, this was her fault. She had to fix it. What if father got rid of her too. No he wouldn't. She wasn’t useless, she made a mistake but she could fix it.
“Akami do I need to fix your mistakes?” Orochimaru’s voice had a bite to it now. She thought of what he had told her when her mother died,  “I have no use for the weak.”
And she found that she was angry now, the blade being squeezed in the palm of her hand.
“No.” She growled back. “It’s my fault Father. I’m sorry. I can fix it. I'm now weak. I can fix it…”
**
Akami didn’t remember slicing his throat.
She did remember watching the blood spill down his neck, like a slow steady stream. She remembered her fathers voice, “that’s my girl” whispered with a low chuckle. She remembered going back to her room, her father said he would take care of the rest. She remembered looking in the bathroom mirror, some of Tenzo’s blood was on her face. That didn’t surprise her, what did surprise her were the tears spilling from her eyes much like his blood. Killing him was easy, a lot easier than expected. She was so angry. She didn’t know why. She couldn’t stand to look in the mirror anymore when all she saw was her father's face staring back at her.
She went to bed. She didn’t leave her room for three days. She didn’t read and she didn’t train. Her father came to check on her but she didn’t recall a word he had said and eventually he let her be.
When she finally left her room she found that she was yet again all alone.
Akami tried her hardest to ignore what had happened, what she had done, it was all her fault. But she couldn’t get the scene out of her head, him laying there lifeless, the look in his eyes. Her feet carried her to her fathers lab, like always the door was locked. She needed to go inside, she needed to see what she’d done. She broke the lock and opened the door, the lab looked the same as it always had. There was no blood staining the ground, no body, nothing. The only thing out of place was her book on the counter. She went to collect it walking around the table on the far side, she glanced at the papers haphazardly strewn about. There were symbols and texts she didn’t recognize. She skimmed it when she saw ‘Iburi. ’ A few words stood out to her, ‘senjutsu’ ‘white snake’ ‘Ryuchi cave’ ‘smoke. ’ Akami glanced at his supply closet. It was like an otherworldly force had called her to it. She clutched the book to her chest, opened the closet and stepped inside. She had never been in it before, only seen him grab things from it on occasion. There was yet another door in the back, curious she opened it as well.
The room was impossibly dark, the only light seemed to emit from dozens upon dozens of tubes. They all had an ominous green glow. She stepped closer only to realize that there were bodies floating inside, hooked up to tubes and wires. She walked towards a back wall and there were tons of jars each one labeled with care. She found some vials of blood bearing her name, her mother’s name too.
It felt like she had stepped into a whole other world. There were strange looking drawers under the shelf of oddities. She pulled one open and gasped. It was her mother’s body, but parts of her skin were stark white paler than her and even her father; so pale it didn’t look like skin at all. Why hadn’t he buried her? He told her he had. She stood at her grave- or what he had told her was her grave. She didn’t want to be here anymore. She backed away from the drawer and bumped into one of the glowing green test tubes. The bodies…they were all children. Akami was horrified, this couldn’t be real. What was he doing? She tapped on the glass but got no response. Were they.. No. Why would they be dead? Father didn’t, he couldn’t. Akami looked around the room, there was blood staining parts of the ground and the wall, there were chains suspended high up. Her eye passed over one of the tubes and she saw a familiar face. She ran to it.
“Tenzo..” She brought her hand up to the glass.
“Tenzo!” She screamed, the shock had worn off and now she was terrified.
“I’m sorry! I didn’t mean it! Wake up! Tenzo please! I’ll-I’ll get you out and we can leave, we can run away right now! I can fix it !! You have to wake up!” She banged on the glass, but he didn’t budge. She was pleading to a corpse. She pounded on the glass again, crying out her apologizes. Tenzo never lied, Father had lied. How long had he been lying?
The boy opened his eyes if only for a moment, she stopped and gawked at him, choking out a sob. This wasn’t Tenzo. He was too small, his eyes were too dark. Tenzo was gone, he was dead. She had killed him. She couldn’t fix it. Wherever he was wasn’t here. He had left this world. She was alone and it was all her fault.

Are we close enough?

Part 1
Summary : Emotionally stunted reader and Kakashi
Warning : Use of profanity
Tumblr media
Pakun looked up with lazy eyes at his boss pacing around the living room. "I should have asked her for dinner!". Kakashi groaned as he stopped and ran his hand through his hair. "Yes". Pakun said before resting his head on his paws. Kakashi sat on the couch and closed his eyes.
Both of you reached the gates of Konoha just as sun was about to set for the day. You kept thinking about the mission and how soft Kakashi's hand felt on your face. You shook your head to shrug off that thought. It was wrong of you to think about your friend this way when Kakashi had barely mentioned anything... He was just concerned for his friend. "Do you have plans for the evening?". You asked him as you left the hokage tower after submitting the report. Kakashi stayed silent for few seconds staring ahead. "Yes". You nodded your head and fixed your gaze to the ground. "Alright then. See you around hatake". You waved and went the opposite direction.
You walked along the aisle going through the list in your hand. The worst part of having long missions was that you had to clear your refrigerator and re stock it again. You sighed as you put the last item in your cart and pushed it towards the checkout. Before you could turn towards the checkout counter your cart crashed against someone. "Shit! I'm sorry!". Your gaze travelled from the foot of the cart to the familiar white hair. Kakashi gave you a closed eye smile as he rubbed the back of his neck. "it's alright". You smiled politely at him and began walking next to him. "This is your plan for the evening?". Kakashi asked side eyeing the ice cream tub in your cart. "Ummmm yeah you can say so...".
Both of you walked out of the store and Kakashi insisted on carrying your bags for you. You looked at him walk next to you and realised why so many men and women fawned over him. He was a complete gentleman on top of being an exceptional shinobi. You saw a women wave in his direction and Kakashi returning her greetings with a smile. You maintained the polite smile to hide the unsettling feeling in your stomach. "Did you eat dinner?". Kakashi asked hesitantly.
"Not yet". Kakashi pressed his lips together under the mask to hide his smile. He was a proud smooth talker but everytime he was with you his words and wits betrayed him. He knew this was a good chance to ask you out and he had to be extremely careful.
"This is my place. I can take it from here". You said nervously. Kakashi snapped out of his daze and realised that he took a little too long to form the right words. "Right. Here you go". He said giving you your bags. "I eat dinner".
"Huh?". You stared at him and Kakashi wished for the ground to swallow him. "Good. You should eat dinner. I guess that why you're in such good shape...I mean health! You're in good health! Ha ha stay healthy! See you later". You laughed nervously and went inside.
Kakashi stood there frozen staring at your gate. "You're hopeless boss". Kakashi blinked slowly and looked down at the pug. "I know".

Kakashi bumped into you again new days later at another shinobi's wedding. "Hi". You turned around to see Kakashi standing in an all Navy blue suit. "Hi! You look good". Kakashi gave you a closed eye smile. He wanted to compliment you but no words could describe how perfect you looked to him in your yellow sundress. "You .. look fine too". You nodded as you tucked a strand of hair behind your ear. "Are you here with someone?". You asked taking a sip from your wine glass.
"No".
"Didn't find a date or the girl refuses?". Kakashi chuckled at your teasing voice. "Didn't find one".
"I don't believe that. The Kakashi Hatake didn't find a date?".
"Why is that hard to believe?".
"You have to be the most clueless person in all of Konoha if you have to ask that question Hatake". Kakashi squinted his eyes at you but then shrugged it off. "What about you?". His heart thumped in his chest waiting for your response.
"I came with Genma". Kakashi's eyes widened and then he frowned looking at Genma standing at a distance. "Everything okay?". You asked following his gaze. "Genma asked you of all the people?". Kakashi raised an eyebrow and your heart dropped to your stomach.
"I know I am not the best looking one of the lot but come on Hatake that's rude". You couldn't meet his eyes anymore and decided to fix your gaze on the ground instead.
Kakashi didn't understand what you meant. He was shocked Genma asked you because Genma was the one who pushed him to talk to you. But then it hit him. "No! Y/n no. I didn't mean that. I meant... I just-".
"It's alright.. I understand Genma has a slightly different type. Sorry if I made it awkward". You smiled trying to diffuse the situation. "No. I should be the one apologising. You are beautiful y/n and any guy would be lucky to be your date". You chuckled at him. "If you really want me to forgive you then you'll have to bear the punishment". You cocked you head to the side and smiled at him. "Anything you want".
"Ask me to dance with you".
"Y/n L/n will you have this dance with me?". Kakashi asked bringing his hand forward. You smiled and took his hand. "Gladly".
You swayed together to the song standing a little closer than most of the couples. You could feel the warmth of his hand deep into your skin and wondered if this was the right thing to do or were you raising your hopes to no avail?
Kakashi had never been this nervous. Like everything he did, he was good at formal dances too but he wasn't good at feelings. He wanted to relish the way you felt in his hands, he wanted to imprint the scent of your perfume in his mind, he wanted to hold you for the rest of his life.
Neither of you spoke a word but your body spoke the language unknown to both of you. When the song reached its end you looked up at Kakashi already looking at you. "Am I forgiven?".
"Yes. Yes you are".
-X-
For a month Kakashi tried to figure out his feelings. He has never felt this before. He never wanted to form permanent bonds because he knew the pain and suffering it eventually brings but then why did he want to spend every second of his day with you? Was it your snide remakes? Your ability to make anyone feel comfortable? Your nervous laugh? Or your eyes? He walked the empty streets of Konoha with his hands in his pocket wondering... "Oi! Hatake!". His head snapped forward when he heard your voice. He turned around and saw you jogging towards him. "What are you doing out so late?". He asked as your stopped to catch your breath. "I could ask you the same thing". You winked at him as your straightened up and fixed your hair behind the hairband. Kakashi sighed and continued walking with you beside him.
"Why do you call me Hatake?".
"I don't know". You said shrugging your shoulders. "I guess... It's because no one else calls you that?". Kakashi looked at you through the corner of his eyes. "You use it as my nickname?".
"I guess you can say that".
"Are we that close?". You gulped down and stopped walking. You stood two steps behind him fidgeting with your fingers thinking that maybe you assumed yourself to be too close than you were. "I .. I guess .. fine I'll stop calling you that". You answered giving your best polite smile trying your best to hide the hurt.
Kakashi mentally cursed himself at the words he chose and his heart dropped seeing the slight hurt in your eyes. "I didn't mean that".
"It's alright. I understand I mean maybe I overstepped some boundary..ha ha...sorry about that. Guess I'll stick to calling you Kakashi. Anyway I gotta get back to my...to my cat! Yeah she must be starving. Bye. See you around... Kakashi". You waved and ran off in the other direction.
Kakashi looked at your retreating figure and facepalmed himself. "FUCK!".
You reached your apartment and ran your hands over your face. "Fuck! Why am so so annoying?!". Your loud groan woke your cat up from his slumber and he purred stretching on the rug. "Now you're mad at me too?"
You were half way through brewing your coffee when you heard a knock on your door. You walked wiping your hand on the sides of your trouser. "Hi". Kakashi said as soon as you opened the door. "Hi". Both of you stood silently for few seconds. "Do you want to come in?". Kakashi nodded and you stepped aside letting him enter first.
"I got breakfast". You looked at the bags in his hand and nodded. "For me?".
"Yes. I ... You like cream bread from the bakery right?".
"I do".
"I do too". Kakashi spoke immediately. "I thought you didn't like sweets". You said as you set two cups on the table and turned away to check on the coffee. "I don't..but..I like you".
You felt blood rush to your cheeks and bit your lip hard to stop yourself from saying something stupid. You didn't know what to do. Should you pretend you didn't hear it? It must have been a mistake right? A slip of tongue?
"Y/n?". You flinched and turned around to see him standing in front of you. "Yeah?". Kakashi was nervous and his brain was fogged up with all the possibilities. But he knew this was not the time to think. "I like you... A lot ..".
You blinked slowly at him. Kakashi Hatake likes you? The Kakashi hatake likes you? Kakashi Hatake your crush likes you? "I .. I don't... Do you...I mean of course you do we are friends right? We .. we wouldn't be friends if you didn't like me right?". You laughed but Kakashi's stern expression didn't falter.
"No. I... I am in love with you". Time stopped for both of you as the words left his mouth. "you don't have to answer now or at all if you don't want to. But I had to tell you. I had to let you know because it was driving me insane. I .. I've been in love with you for as long as I can remember and I thought...I thought that I could push it away but I couldn't.. I couldn't stop falling for you and it's fine if you don't-".
"I do. I love you. I just didn't think you would...feel the same". Kakashi's heart kept out of his chest as he heard you say those three words. "I.. didn't think that-". Before you could finish your sentence Kakashi pulled you by your waist and crashed his lips on yours. You tiptoed and wrapped your arms around your neck as you felt his naked lips on yours. Kakashi kissed you like you held the breath he needed to live. You parted with pressed foreheads and panting chest. When you opened your eyes you saw his entire face for the first time ever. "Holy shit you're beautiful". You said as your held his face in your hand. Kakashi chuckled and brought your right arm to his lips and pressed a kiss in each knuckle. "Thank you".
"Can I call you Hatake now? I guess we're close enough for that". You smiled and Kakashi only pulled your closer into him running his hands along you back. "I might call you a Hatake too".
