Also the people who donāt consider her part of the family because she was dating Timā¦ HAVE YOU NEVER HAD SIBLING IN LAWS?!?! Iām sorry, but my uncle (momās brother)ās wife is so much a part of our family that sometimes we forget sheās not related to us, my mom literally calls her her sister. Also multiple times have two people divorced/broken up but still be considered family to the otherās family. Also this isnāt a nuclear family, itās a found family, she doesnāt have to be their sister, sheās just their family. Same with Babs. Yeah she dated and broke up with Dick. Sheās still a part of the family. A pretty big and pretty important part too.
Okay, a lot of people might not agree with what Iām about to say, but imma say it anyway: If you see a post that includes Stephanie Brown as a part of the Batfam or even maybe as a part of the batkids and your first instinct is to point out how sheās ānot a part of the familyā then youāve missed the point of her existence as a character entirely. I get it when you see a post making her out to be Bruceās kid or something akin to Bruceās kid, because taht wouldnāt be correct, even if B has fatherly love towards her itās not reciprocated and he knows it, thatās why he doesnāt push it, because he knows she already has a kick-ass parent (shoutout to Crystal Brown for being the best mother in DC history) that she lives as well as kick-ass parental figures that she loves (Shoutout Babs, (sometimes) Helena, and Dinah for just being badass). However, Stephanie Brown is a part of the Batfamily. Whether in mask or out of it, the others view her as a sister and she reciprocates that feeling, she is made to be a support system for the rest of the family, sheās made and written to be the pillar that holds them up, that canāt happen if sheās not a part of the family. And I swear to if someone brings up the whole ābut she used to date Timā thing I will die.

@whalehouse1 could you please clarify what you meant in those tags because I really donāt get what you were saying, sorry
Iām BEGGING yāall to stop erasing the fact that Bruce didnāt adopt Dick for the LONGEST TIME EVER. Thatās what gives their relationship that kick. Thatās also one of the main sources of their misunderstandings which is an inherent constant in their story.

For everyone who actually wants the essay: I swear Iāll post it soon but Iām really busy this week cuz my dadās in town, I promise Iāll post it soon tho, sorry for the wait
Jason Toddās death storyline was perfectly executed because they killed him figuratively (killed his innocence) before actually killing him. Itās a tragedy because he died in two separate ways. And the reason his resurrection is just as much a tragedy is because only one of the things killed can be brought back and it wasnāt the thing that made Jason who he is (his innocence and kindness).

I refuse to let boring, toothless fanon/Cass win, so here is a non-comprehensive list of actual things Cassandra Cain has canonically done:
-conquered and lived amongst a pack of wolves
-eaten (among other things) the contents of a Gotham City dumpster, a raw cow carcass and the flesh of at least one interdimensional demon
-brought down Two-Face's crime ring by stealing all his coins so he couldn't make any decisions
-stabbed Rose Wilson in the throat to checkmate Deathstroke
-played a game of chicken against Batman, in jets, and WON
-broke Stephanie Brown's jaw for trying to stop her digging up a corpse
-stopped a murderer's heart for several seconds as a teachable moment
-broke the Joker out of Arkham just to kick his ass
-threw Dick Grayson out a window for hurting Barbara's feelings

What I love about Donna Troyās character is she turned sexist writing into a solid and complex character core. Like she went from being the caretaker and mom friend of the teen titans because she was a girl to being the caretaker and mom friend to everyone because thatās her. She takes care of everyone around her, she lives and breathes for everyone around her, not because sheās a female character that is written only for the benefit of the male characters around her, but because she has insecurities and she has fears. She lives and breathes for everyone around her because she believes if she didnāt sheāll lose all her worth, because to her, sheās only what she does to others. Thatās why her friendship with Kory is so good and so realistic, because theyāre both like that. Thatās also why she was an easy victim for Terry, because people like him prey on people like her. And thereās something so realistic about that being the core characteristic of a girl, especially one who was not only raised by warriors, but fought beside a team that has always been the root of insecurity in its members (each TT member thinking they are beneath/worse then the other four). And again I want to highlight how incredibly realistic this depiction is, and how it all stemmed from sexism, because most of girlsā/womenās insecurities stem from misogyny.
Also this is why her and Kory are the most deserving characters of their own run because the storyline is that easy, the arc is right there.

Youāre all good. Youāre right actually I shouldāve been more specific.
I feel like Jasonās character is much more interesting when his dad was (as he originally was btw) a good dad that was just trying his best.

Oh my bad for not making it clear what I meant. I meant originally as in the original story of JT as we know him today, so like Batman (1940) #408 (Iām pretty sure) onwards. Not the Dick Grayson 2.0 storyline.
I feel like Jasonās character is much more interesting when his dad was (as he originally was btw) a good dad that was just trying his best.

Can you guys imagine if the OG 5 TTs went through that YJ TV series training simulation where they forgot it was a simulation and had to watch each other and everyone around them die knowing it was ll for nothing because they couldnāt save the world either way? Yeah I think that would be the tipping point for them donāt you think?

Dick is so Carmen coded, and I think of him everytime I hear I Love You by Billie Eilish, great choice
RIGHT??!!! I mean I donāt know about anyone else but I know me personally, I never start writing a Richard John Grayson-Wayne scene without listening to Carmen. Like, thatās him. Heās Carmen. They are one. They are the same.
Also I love you by Billie eilish ughhhhh itās just so perfect for him, like that eerily perfectly sad sense the song has, the absolute sadness and grief you get from the melody and Billieās voice. And the LYRICS. Haunting in only a way Richard John Grayson can be. Like just TRY listening to āUp all night on another red eye/I wish we never learned to flyy/ Maybe we should just try/To tell ourselves a good lie/I didn't mean to make you cryā or āWhat the hell did I do?/ Never been the type to/Let someone see right throughā and NOT think of Richard John Grayson, likeeeeeā¦

Ok so think of your favorite character(s) in DC comics, now what do you think their favorite song is? (Just a reminder these are all peopleās OPINIONS so no right or wrong)
Iāll go first, Talia Al Ghul goes to sleep listening to one of two things: I Bet On Losing Dogs by Mitski or Kalam Eyneyh by Sherine
Stephanie Brown is either I Donāt Smoke by Mitski, Last Words of a Shooting Star by Mitski, or Cinnamon Girl by Lana Del Rey (She tells everyone itās Call Me Maybe by Carly Rae Jepsen though)
Dick Grayson is Carmen by Lana Del Rey, I Love You by Billie Eilish, or Unwritten by Natasha Bedignfeild
And Donna Troyās is Mirrorball by Taylor Swift, PRIDE by Kendrick Lamar, or Afraid by The Neighborhood
