WARNING: FILTHYNESS UNDER CUT. P in v, unprotected sex, age gap implied, Dad Best Friend Miguel, breeding kink, wedding night sex, rough sex, manhandling, oral, m receiving, f receiving, reader is 21+ , pregnancy.
Summary: You've married Miguel. Celebration ensues.
Comments and reblogs are highly appreciated 😊✨
If someone would have told you that you'd marry your dad best friend a few years back, you surely had believed them crazy.
Back then Miguel meant someone to stay away from, out of respect for your dad and the many years they shared as friends. But after that evening you had shared, with him buried deep inside you in the kitchen island, everything changed. And it went both ways.
It changed for good since there was no more restrictions and inhibitions. No moral code that prevented him for coming for you and sweeping off your feet. Your dad wasn't happy initially, and his anger lasted for a couple of months.
But slowly thawed when he saw Miguel also trying his best in being a good partner for you. His friendship was also put at stake and that took a while to fix as well.
Your dad was both disturbed yet relieved, to put it in words. Disturbed because one of his worst case scenarios had turned into a wicked reality. Something he had a hard time accepting, despite him telling you it was ok.
Being angry wouldn't make you both break up, and it only made his blood pressure to go up. But his role as a protective father had been long terminated ever since Miguel came to your life as your official partner.
He wouldn't have to worry for your wellbeing anymore. He knew you'd be more than fine with him.
It helped to soothe his nerves to see you close to Gabriella. Something that took you a while.
Gabi wasn't easily convinced, but seeing your unwavering and steadfast resolution to be with her precious Papa, and that you didn't want to steal him from her, made everything ten times better.
To starters, Miguel seemed happy that Gabi had accepted you, despite her initial doubts and complains. His relationship with Gabi was always a hundred percent honesty and trust. He could never hide something from his little girl.
Despite your age, and many people thinking you a gold digger, you remained on Miguel's side. Supporting him as he protected you from snide comments and jealousy from the people in Alchemax. While he got congratulated for finding such a lovely and delectable soon to be wife, you got the backlash from the women and upper boss' that either never had a chance with him, or were too much of a bunch of prudes to accept the fact you were marrying him.
He quit a couple of weeks later after you did. And no amount of money could convince him to get him back. It was simple.
"If you aren't comfortable working there, neither I am."
Of course he was tired of hearing things like 'I'll give them a year.' 'She just wants him for the money. Get him a richer dude and you'll see.' And 'She's so naive if she thinks he loves her. He's a perv old man.'
Only you knew how much Miguel loved you, and he knew you too well to pay attention to gossip and brickbats.
You both found a new job in a better place, even if that meant you'd move in definitely with Miguel.
You were concerned because no matter how many times he came inside, there was still no signs of a baby. To your relief, doctor explained that after many years of being in contraceptives your body would have an adjustment lapse for all the hormones to be flushed out of you. Pregnancy would come, eventually.
It was good and bad. Good cause Miguel fucked you dumb for hours almost everyday, and bad cause you couldn't wait to get a bigger family on your own.
Obviously you were excited and so was Miguel and Gabi.
But a new adventure laid ahead. Your wedding.
----
Miguel had invited a couple of his coworkers a woman named Jessica, and a couple of men named Peter and Ben. The only family worth inviting was Gabriel.
Gabi was the ring lady. It was a small and intimate reunion. Once you were delivered in the altar, Miguel held your hands. A sense of pride filled in his chest.
You looked absolutely gorgeous in that short silky dress. Like his own dream come true. And when the moment of saying 'I do' came, neither of you hesitated.
All the bad moments you both had gone through, quickly dissipated to be replaced with joy and love. He loved you.
Gabi loved you, and you couldn't be happier.
You were his queen after all.
----
After the private wedding you all went to celebrate to one of the most delicious and luxurious places in town.
"You better eat, mi amor. You'll need alot of energy."
He'd mumble in your ear as his hand caressed the suppleness of your inner thigh.
Gabi was left with uncle Gabriel, and with a final hug, your father let you go.
Your dad rolled his eyes and Miguel sniggered as you both went to his car.
"I'll take care of her."
"Shut up."
Miguel opened the door for you and kissed your cheek before letting his new wife to accommodate in his car. He then went to his seat and drove off.
"Bye dad!"
"Love you, cupcake!"
"We're married."
You giggled and he took your hand to kiss it.
The car stopped to a red light and he pulled your cheeks closer to give you a deep kiss. The kind of kiss that would mean he needed you. The kind of kiss that would turn into this raging ache for eachother that could be sated one way.
"Do you feel happy?"
"Obviously."
Your body shuddered upon the feeling of his dexterous fingers hovering your clothed pussy. Your legs spreaded for him to have more access.
"Can't wait to get to that hotel, preciosa."
Your hips humped softly his hand, earning a soft yet delicious friction.
"Pull that dress down, mi amor." He instructed as you quickly slid the straps of your silky white dress off your shoulders, spilling your breast for him. The idea of getting caught seemed even more thrilling when a group of people marched infront of your car. Of course they couldn't see what was going on inside.
His penchant for exhibitionism had rubbed hard on you. Just like his suck on one of your nipples. A wet patch filtered through your cotton panties.
Your hand wasted no time in squeezing his crotch. He gulped.
"I've always wanted to do this."
Your giggles increased as you unzipped his pants and peeled his cock our of his confinements.
"Are you hungry, cariño?" He heaved as you pumped him softly, earning a hiss and a low growl from him.
You kissed him once more before stuffing your mouth with his cock.
He threw an arm over your seat, relaxed as you sucked him.
"Fuuck- take deep breaths, Princesa" His eyes shut close for a moment, but the sudden mini concert of honks snapped his attention back to the road.
He drove carefully. Steady breaths huffed out of his mouth as you took him deeper. All that cock sucking training had been worth it.
"Jesucristo, hermosa"
His eyes drooped as your tongue focused on his tip. Wet sucking noises etched in his memory, and my God, he loved them.
"Lemme... lemme find a... Dios mío-" He choked as your hand pumped him faster as your lips busied themselves with his sac, "Lemme park. I can't-" He gasped when you took him whole once more, your throat shamelessly constricting against him.
"Yes~" He hissed as his hips bucked, trying to fuck your lips. You whimpered and let him go last minute. He took a fistful of your hair and pulled you to kiss him. Tasting himself in the process.
Smirking you went back to your seat after fixing his pants. Seeing him all rizzed and worked up made your boldness to spike. Your hips shimmied away from the cotton contraption, and you threw them in the back seat of the car.
"Miguel?"
His eyes immediately went between your spreading thighs. Your back rested against the passenger door and your fingers delved in between your slick folds.
His mouth gaped. His throat dried in dire need of a drink of you. A finger slid inside. The squelching sound it did sent shivers down his spine.
"Look at what you do to your poor wife, Miguel"
"That's so not fair, cariño. I'm driving"
He bit his lip at the sight. You were soaked and ready to be filled to the brim. Just the way he loved.
"Keep playing with it, though. Love hearing you cum"
Your soft moans and wet pussy made his insides tingle. All he had to do was wait to get to the hotel so he could actually get his revenge on you. And by God he would enjoy it.
"Wish it was you inside me" You whimpered as your fingers delved in deeper, tight hole melding at your finger's size.
"You'll have me, preciosa. Just wait."
Your soaked fingers toyed and curled on your insides, earning more coos and moans. His feet pressed the accelerator deeper as he drove through the streets.
"Faster, mi amor"
He instructed giving occasional glances at the mess you were creating between your legs. A mess he would love to stuff his face in right now. His cock twitched almost painfully at hearing you touching and toying with yourself next to him. He had ruined you in so many ways he couldn't help but feel pride. And now that you were his wife, none could tell him no.
A smirk stretched on his meaty lips when the hotel came into view
You quickly went through the motions, check in, people taking your luggage to your room and blah blah blah.
"Stop." You whined but complied. Your body could almost taste your orgasm. But seeing the hotel coming closer in your vision relaxed your aching cunt. You didn't care if he had to take you on the elevator, but he needed to do something, instead he took your fingers and licked them clean to then kiss you.
---
He locked the door after putting the 'Do not disturb' sign outside the door. A chill invaded you as his gaze fell on you. You ran with an excited squeal and he chased with a wolfish grin plastered on his face.
Graying strands bounced as he pounced on you. Hands took a hold of your dress and ripped it in half.
His lips mumbled desperately on yours as he removed his clothes. His hulking figure cornered you against one of the suit's pillars.
"Hey!"
"Cállate. Te voy a conseguir otro" (Shut up. I'll get you another one)
Hot and desperate mouth mapped your skin as one hand held you by the neck.
"Need you now, preciosa."
His tongue curled in your folds as his other hand kneaded your thigh, prying it open before he sunk his face in between them.
Your eyes clamped shut at the sensation of him prodding and tasting you. Spine arched against the column as he kneeled and ate you. His hunger grew urgent with every lick and lap he delivered to your quivering flesh.
You gasped as he placed you to sit ontop of your shoulders, your hand grabbing his hair to push him impossibly closer to your soaked and loved pussy.
One of his hands secured your lower back, as the other held tightly on your thigh, securing you in place as he hoisted you up. You rode his face eagerly, getting as much friction as you could from his lips and tongue. A firm slap on your ass encouraged you to ride faster. Your clit trembled with joy at every contact he did with his mouth. He groaned.
The low vibrations of his groans ignited the spark for your aching release. His slaps alternated between rough squeezes. Your thighs smothered his head, trapping him tightly. Lightheadnesss rushing through your brain, as your breaths turned shorts and shallow.
"I'm cumming!" You whimpered as your body went taut to then tremble. He drank from you, quenching his longing thirst. He placed you gently on the bed to then spread your legs.
The stretch his cock did inside felt deliciously painful. Legs wrapped around his narrow waist as he hoisted you once more against his chest to then hook your thighs on his forearms as his hands held you by your ass. Your arms went around his neck, holding onto him.
His hips rammed into you.
Your mouth went slack as your body trembled. Your insides kept constricting since you were still riding your high but he didn't care. He'd never get tired for the way your tight walls melted and shivered around him. It was addictive. Like the sheer and raw need for eachother you were basked in.
His hands guided your hips, a sweet and wet slap echoed into the room.
Your fingers sunk into his salt and pepper hair. His fangs pulling at your bottom lip. An iron grip squeeze and it was all he needed to rut in an air-knocking and jaw slacking pace.
Your head lolled to the sides, trying to grasp onto a coherent thought but none came. There was nothing but pleasure in your head. Each thrust reached deeper until his tip made out with your cervix. Nothing but the sounds of your drooling pussy taking everything he mustered at you and his low growls.
His pace increased into a faster tempo, and you curled into the crook of his neck, voice rasping and begging for him to not stop. The inside friction felt raw and hot, almost maddening at how well your walls welcomed him over and over. Inviting him to nest within them.
Sweat etched to his forehead and upper chest and back. Your meek attempts of marking him only added enough spice for his hips to keep wrecking your hole.
The feeling of your ass bouncing on his hands at every thrust he did and your breathless coos and begs, made him to grip tighter and fuck you rougher.
Mewlings turned into loud and choked wails as he drilled you through
"Give it to me, preciosa" He fisted your hair as he sheathed completely into you,  and you creamed and gushed while your body convulsed.
"Such a fucking good girl,"
The contractions around his cock felt like a delicious kiss, just like the one he gave you.
He laughed softly at your state.
"You think we're done, Mi reina? How cute."
You panted like a fish out of water as he flipped you over on the bed and melded your body like putty.
His hand pushed your face deeper in the mattress as he planted his feet on each side of you.
"Levanta ese culo. Will fuck it like a husband should." (Raise that ass)
He slapped your quivering cheeks to lift your hips up himself. You were too high and cock drunk to listen to what he was saying. Your breast flattened against the bed, his feet planted on each side of your hips. One of his hands guided his tip inside you again to then hold at the metal headboard before him for leverage.
"M-Miguel!" You sobbed as he thrusted inside in a swift move.
"This is gonna be your treatment until you grow a fucking baby inside , sweetheart"
The relentless push had your eyes far far gone as he kept bullying his cock in such a brutal pace you'd thought he'd split you in two. He was so good at manhandling and stretching you open, and you were even better at taking it. Excelled even.
The constant slapping had you wheezing and your ass flushed. Your previous cum rolled down your inner thighs, it made easier for him to slid in an out.
And just when you thought he'd stop, he'd just slow down to unleash an onslaught of deep and merciless thrusts.
You clung to the sheets for dear life as meek and muffled sobs escaped you with effort. Your throat felt scrapped raw, he smirked at feeling your walls twitching again.
The bead and headboard creaked at his rutting. Your toes curled in and your jaw clenched at the force you crashed down. You soaked him, making a hot mess of your cunt. But that didn't stop him.
He pushed deeper a few more times before holding your hips in such a steely grip you were sure you'd get bruises and spilled into you. Hot and thick blobs of his cum painting your walls white.
He clawed at your skin as he panted and growled. One of his hands slicked his hair back and sighed with a satisfied yet wicked smile, but frowned upon watching his cum rolling down your clit.
"No no. it must stay inside." He grumbled as his fingers collected his cum to push it back inside and then slapped your ass. Earning another whimper of you.
His arms cradled you as his body smothered you. His lips showered your flushed face in kisses.
"Te ves tan preciosa así." (You look so beautiful like this)
You couldn't help but squeal while you hugged Miguel upon seeing the two parallel lines in the pregnancy test.
You scooted closer in his arms with the little energy you had left. Letting your shaken brain to finally take a rest, letting his hushed 'I love yous' and his gentle caresses on your hair lull you to sleep.
----
All the raw fucking had finally paid off. He cupped your cheeks and kissed you.
"Told you I'd make a mami out of you. preciosa"
You giggled as you texted your dad.
He chuckled and kissed you again.
"What are you doing?"
"Making my dad feel old and giving him the news."
He placed a hand on your lower belly and smiled.
"Wait til Gabi finds out."
"I hope it's a girl"
-------
"Are you happy?"
"More than happy, yes. I'm gonna be a mom!"
"A wonderful one, for sure."

POV: MC is drunk at Aurora and she texts Jake.
One-shot (but with two parts. Two-shot? Maybe I'm drunk)
Part-1
Background story: When Jake could finally get free of the dark-web world, it was too late. MC told him that she'd moved on and it was best for both of them. But she confuses Jake again, texting him after she gets wasted. And Jake is confused and not at all happy about her recklessness.
—Jake—
I stare at the screen, eyebrows creased in confusion. My mind is debating if her phone got hacked or it's with the likes of Dan. But then I reread the message, using more of my intellect and pausing the emotions at war.
MC: IM AT AURORAA AND IF U DONT COMW AND GET ME I WILL SLEEP WITJ THE 1ST GUY I SEE!
MC: bringg moneyyy some bitcj stole mine
No, it's definitely her. There's no debate about that. I barely pay any attention to the second message. My mind is still stuck on the first one. It's really unsettling. Despite how I've been upset with her, hardly seen or talked to her the past few weeks, still I want to get there as fast as I can. I cannot bear the image of the otherwise scenario.
My emotions resume the war. I've never understood her entirely before but this is simply beyond my understanding. She went into heavy details explaining to me how she has gotten over me while I was away and how my barging into her life again isn't good for either of us. While I was on the run, making a new identity for myself, cutting ties with anyone who could pull me back into that long stretch of ruin I've been living in, I considered many outcomes. This is one of the more unlikely ones. Or maybe I didn't want to think about it so I didn't consider it fairly.
She was already having a hard time telling me all the reasons I didn't want to hear, so I left. Ever since then, I've stayed at Lilly's place and it's a relief that her friends usually hang out at Cleo’s or Jessica’s. I haven't seen her or talked to her since then but I couldn't help asking Lilly how MC was doing every once in a while. Lilly would always tell me that MC felt like a different person and that I should talk to her. I refused. I simply couldn't bring myself to.
I can't understand if she doesn't want me anymore then why am I the one she's texting when she's wasted at a bar. I guess I’d have to wait until she's sober. I feel a ting of hope and my mind calling me an idiot.
I stop my car in front of Aurora’s front door. Usually, people are entering and exiting at every hour but as the street gets darkened, no one is seen around. Of course, it's 2 am. Why would anyone be here at 2 am when only a month ago a girl was abducted and another was found dead? And obviously, that anyone has to be MC.
Sometimes her recklessness throws me over to the edge.
I rush inside. All lights are shut down, only two of them shine at the counter. One male waiter cleans up the leftovers on the tables while another walks to the kitchen, loosening the knot on his apron. At the counter, MC is seated on one of the high stools, her head resting on the counter while her hands move above her head as she's explaining or complaining about something to…well, to the bar owner. Phil Hawkins.
He's bent over to the counter, his arms set on the counter as he's nodding while grinning. His eyes fly to me as I near them. I notice that her phone is left unlocked on the counter with our chat opened so Phil isn't surprised to see me here. I have only met him once and let's say that didn't change my dislike for him.
“We’ve only met once. And it feels like I've known you for years.” He says, straightening.
I raise my eyebrow at him. “I don't return the sentiment.”
Then as I stride to the counter, beside MC, I understand what he meant.
MC is wasted, talking about me while being totally oblivious of my presence. “And I told him, Phil. I told him. You know what I said?” Her hands are moving vaguely, her voice is uneven, getting high randomly. It's sort of cute. “I said,” Her voice becomes a bit stable as she tries to deepen it. “I will know your identity soon.”
I can't believe she's with a… decent looking guy, somewhat and she's still talking about me. I don't know how to feel about that. But I guess this just reminds me of what we could've had, could've been.
“And you know what he told me then? I remember it as clear as the day as we speak.” She moves her hand hysterically. I bite back a laugh and I look at Phil doing the same.
Then, he says, “What? What did he say to you?”
I would not be a part of this if I didn't want to hear her complaining about me. It's surprisingly funny and adorable. I don't use words like ‘adorable’ to describe anything else. I think I can't anymore– she's set the bar too high.
She clears her throat, raising her head slightly, pointing a finger straight at the wall. “You can't. I am the hacker everyone's after. I'm unbeatable.” She pretends to be me, making her voice rough and deep but fails adorably. I couldn't help it anymore– I broke into a grin.
I decided to intervene. “I certainly didn't say anything of that sort.”
Her pointed finger freezes at my voice. She slowly turns her head towards me as I try not to smile. But as soon as my eyes meet her, there's an effortless smile on my mouth before I can even begin controlling it. She stares at me for a moment. Her hair is a little messy, eyes squinting at me. Then she brings her hands to her mouth. “Oh my god, Phil, I summoned him.”
I take a step forward. “Yes, you did.” I take another step forward, sliding into the stool next to her as I sweep her phone from the counter. I hold it up for her to see. “By texting me. With an awful amount of typos.”
She snatches her phone from my head. “That wasn't me. It might be the owner of the bar– Phil.” She blames as if she doesn't see him standing two feet away from the counter. “But anyways.” She puts her phone on the counter. “You look too hot to be sent back now.” She places a hand on my chest.
Phil coughs. “Alright. That's my cue to leave.”
MC’s gaze follows his figure as he leaves. Then, she leans towards me and whispers, “You know, although it was true but I just said that so he'd leave.”
I lean forward and whisper back, “Excellent plan. Next time, include me as well.”
She nods several times. “For sure.”
“Are you ready to leave?” I ask her.
“Did you bring the money?” She questions.
“Depends. How much do you need?” I place my elbow on the counter, supporting my head as I look at her panicking.
“Well, w-well. It's about 300$.” She scratches her neck. And this time I am the one panicking. Not because of the money, of course, but because—
“You drank 300$ worth of alcohol?”
She blinks. “No. I broke three bottles. Phil told me he'd go easy on me so I have to pay for just two of them.” She shows two fingers, smiling.
I try to look stoic. I look at her finger with the same grim expression and she lowers them awkwardly. I straighten, removing my elbow from the counter. I clear my throat, lowering my head, trying not to show her my smile.
I return my gaze to her. She asks, hopefully, “So do you have 300$?”
I do. But I put my lips into a thin line, shaking my head as she frowns. “I don't have the money. But you know what? I have nothing to worry about since you're one who needs to pay.” I return my elbow on the counter. “All I'm saying is that it's not my problem.”
Her mouth slightly opens and closes. She looks around, fidgeting a little. Then, she looks back at me. “So, you are going to leave?” Her voice is small and I almost give in.
I shrug. “I can leave and come back with the money.” I offer and notice the immediate refusal on her face. “Do you want me to come back with the money?”
She looks down, at her hands. “Don’t do that.”
It takes me a moment to recover from the vulnerability in her voice. I realise as cute as she looks right now, but I still don't want her to be in his state when someone trusted isn't around her, someone who can protect her. That's when I promise to lecture her about this once she's sober. I don't care if we haven't spoken for weeks or where we stand right now.
But right now, I'm calm, knowing she texted me and that I am here with her.
“Why?” I ask. “Weren’t you planning to sleep with the first guy you see here? Once I'm gone, you could do that.” I do my best not to process my own words.
She's still looking at her hands. “No, I only said that so that you'll come and get me. But it's fine if you don't want to pay for me. You can leave—”
The last word stretches as I pull her stool closer to mine. Her legs stumble together between mine. Her head turns upwards as her eyes dart to different parts of my face.
“You think I'm going to leave you here? I am here to get you and I would've come even if you hadn't sent me that threat of a message. Even if you had sent me a made-up word or merely just one letter or just my name, I would've come for you.” I affirm here, speaking very softly but ensuring my words hold the right heaviness for her to believe.
“Even if you didn't know where I was?” She asks.
“Even if I didn't know where you were. I'd find you.” I answer.
“Even if I make you pay a huge debt and ignore you the next day?”
“I’d be hurt if you ignored me. I don't care about the money.”
“Even if I hurt you?”
I hesitate. “Doesn’t matter. I'll get over it.”
“And even if I make terrible jokes?”
“Especially when you make jokes. Terrible or not.”
She eases into a smile. I raise both my hands, fixing her hair with a smile. At last, I rested them on her shoulder. “Let’s go?”
She nods. I nod back. “Just so you know, I’m not saying anything right now because you're too drunk to remember but once you get sober, I'm giving you a lecture about this stupid thing you did.” I can't help but to think what if I didn't see the message, or she couldn't find her phone. I don't particularly like Phil after tonight but what if he wasn't here or she had gone to some other place.
“Good luck to her.” She says. And I laugh out loud, grabbing her phone and shoving it in my pocket. I put the money on the counter and turn to her. “Are you cold?” I ask her as I stand.
“Cold? No. I'm extremely hot and a warm person. You were cold when we first talked.” She points a finger at me, accusingly as she tries to stand.
“I’m sorry. Forgive me. If it makes you feel any better, I don't know who that person was anymore.” I put a hand around her waist as she leans into me. We walk towards the exit.
“Really?” She asks, looking at me.
“Really. He was so reserved and guarded.” I say, matching her accusing tone.
“I know, right? He would ask me about all my findings on the case and wouldn't tell me anything he'd do all day.” She threw her hand, expressing her annoyance.
I grin. “Really? He did that to you? That's so unfair. If I were you, I would never work with him.” We reach the door. I hold her with one hand as I opened the door.
“Well, I wouldn't do that.” She says, unsure.
“Why not?” I ask as we walk towards my car. It's been a long time since I've talked to her. I can't stop myself. I don't want to waste any second being silent. Turns out, I really don't know who I was before I met her.
“Well, he would say ‘good job, MC’. I liked that.” She says, mimicking me.
We reach the door to the passengers' seat. I hold it open for her as she stumbles onto the seat. She wriggles a little until she's comfortable. “Finally.” She eases back into the seat. Then, she looks at me. “I knew texting you was the right thing to do.”
“Good job, MC.”
She stares, processes, then she blushes. I close the door, smiling in an idiotic manner. When I enter the car, she removes her shoes. She sits comfortably putting her leg on the seat, looking at me, expectantly.
“You want something from me?”
“Say that again.”

Pleaaase, I need some jealous/protective Hotch. Someone saying something bad to Prentiss and Hotchs like “if you again say things like that to the woman I love I’ll kill you”. Maybe secret relationship or pre-relationship before he even said that to her. please?🥺
Hiiii bestie <3
I love this idea, and whilst I didn't get that actual line of dialogue in there...Aaron is definitely in full protective mode. I hope you enjoy this <3

Merit
She thinks she should hate it, that the feminist in her should be screaming at him for protecting her like this. She knows she doesn’t need it, she’s always been more than capable of looking after herself, and she had been for longer than she should have.
She doesn’t need it, but she wants it.

“What about that guy over there, Em?”
Emily turns to follow where Penelope is pointing, her eyes meeting those of a man standing at the bar who she had never seen before. She smiles politely before she turns back to her friends, shaking her head at Penelope as she takes a sip of her beer.
“Pen, I’m not interested in finding someone,” she says patiently, her eyes meeting JJ’s who hides a smile behind her own beer, “So please stop trying to set me up with strangers.”
Penelope pouts, “You’re no fun, you haven’t been on a date since you got back from Paris,” she laments, like that in itself was the great tragedy of everything that had happened in the last year, “You need to get laid.”
Emily takes another sip of her beer and hopes that the relatively low lighting of the bar they were in covers that her cheeks are tinged pink. She can feel Aaron looking at her occasionally, his eyes burning into her as he briefly stops paying attention to his conversation with Dave. She doesn’t have to look up at him to know the intensity of his gaze, or the promise it carried for when they were able to sneak back to his place later.
“Who said I wasn’t getting laid?” She replies casually, spurred on by the pleasant buzz of alcohol in her system and the love she couldn’t bring herself to tell anyone about yet. She gets some satisfaction as Penelope coughs around a mouthful of her cocktail, and JJ pats their exuberant friend on the back, laughing along with Emily.
“What?” Penelope exclaims, looking back and forth between Emily and JJ, “Did you know about this?” JJ shakes her head in response and Penelope looks back at Emily, “Tell us everything.”
Emily shakes her head, her eyes flicking to Aaron’s, and she barely hides a smile before she looks back at her friends, “I’ve already said too much.”
Secrecy was something she and Aaron had agreed on almost silently. Both all too aware of the things they’d been through together and separately, as well as just how precious their relationship was to each of them. It’s how they found themselves almost 7 months into this, more than half a year gone since their tentative first kiss, with only Jack and Jessica aware of the shift in their relationship. Emily was the happiest she ever remembered being, something that she thinks a year ago would have terrified her, sent her running as quickly as possible away, but now she relished in it. Allowed herself to let herself be loved in the way she’d always craved and to love him in the exact same way. She liked to believe they were each other’s prize, the destination after the most tumultuous of journeys.
She knew they couldn’t keep it secret for much longer, that their plans - moving in together, kids, getting married - would mean that they needed to let other people in. A quiet end to this part of their lives together, ready to be replaced with something she knew would be even greater.
Whenever the right time was, it wasn’t here in the bar local to Quantico, alcohol flowing through them all as they were surrounded by other agents. It had been Penelope’s idea to come here for a few drinks after work. A rare opportunity to have some fun after a long week. If Emily was honest she’d rather be with Aaron at his place, snuggled up against his side as they watched a movie with Jack, but she was happy they had come out, her boyfriend's promises of what they’d do when they got home still echoing around her head, sending a shiver down her spine.
“You’re no fun,” Penelope replies, still pouting and Emily chuckles, draining the rest of her beer before she puts the empty bottle down on the table next to them.
“That’s funny,” Emily says, her smile widening, eyes sparkling with mischief, “He thinks I’m a lot of fun.” She laughs as Penelope nearly chokes again and winks at her, “I’m going to the bathroom, I’ll be back.”
She glances at Aaron before she goes, their eyes meeting in a brief and silent conversation, making her flash him a smile.
I love you.
We’ll go home soon.
She smiles to herself as she walks towards the bathroom, turning into the hallway that leads to them that was much quieter than the rest of the bar.
“Agent Prentiss.”
She groans to herself at the sound of the voice of a familiar agent, and she rolls her eyes before she fixes a fake smile on her face as she turns to look at him. Harry Grant was a known pest, and he had more than one complaint from female agents lodged against him, but his father was important in DC, a big name that she knows her mother would approve of.
Yet another reason she hated politics.
“Agent Grant,” she replies politely, hoping she covers her slight disgust as he steps closer towards her, “It’s nice to see you.”
He chuckles to himself as he steps closer again, “Please, Emily, you can call me Harry. All my friends do.”
She hums in response, holding back a grimace as she smells the alcohol flowing off of him, “Well, Agent Grant, I should get going.”
She tries to move past him but he places his hand on the wall next to her, blocking her from getting past him, “I was wondering if I could buy you a drink,” he says, making no effort to hide how he was looking her up and down, his eyes lingering on the shirt she’d worn specifically to drive Aaron a little crazy at work. She clears her throat as she takes a step backwards.
“Look, Agent Grant-”
“Harry-”
“Agent Grant,” she repeats purposefully, “I appreciate the offer,” she says, making it clear she absolutely did not, “But it’s a no.”
His demeanour changes as soon as her rejection registers, her words finally sinking in, something she had seen countless times before. His eyes harden, the smile he clearly believed was flirtatious slipped away, and he glares at her.
“You really do like to play hard to get, don’t you,” he comments stepping closer to her again, her back hitting the wall, “What does a guy have to do to get your attention?” He asks rhetorically, sneering at her, “Maybe if I was a fucking terrorist I’d have a chance.”
She sucks in a breath, his insult hitting her square in the chest. It was difficult when she first returned from Paris, from the dead. She hated how people she would have once considered work friends, people she made coffee with and shared the elevator with, would stop talking as she entered a room. She’d never let it show, pushing past the hurt to pretend she hadn’t noticed, as if the silence that seemed to follow her everywhere wasn’t enough to choke her. She’d mentioned it to Aaron once and he’d apologised, horrified that he hadn’t been able to contain all of the information about Doyle and her mission with him like he had hoped to as if he could have buried it right alongside her.
She’d kissed him to stop him, aware that they both apologised for so many things that were not their fault over the years.
She opens her mouth to respond, unsure what she’s going to say, but she’s cut off by a booming voice, the words sharp and full of fury.
“What did you just say to her?”
Emily turns to look at her boyfriend. Aaron is standing just a few feet away, his face set sternly, his anger so clear she’s half surprised Grant hasn’t turned to stone. She takes the momentary shock that Aaron has created in the other man as an opportunity to step away, making it to her boyfriend's side in a matter of seconds.
“Aaron, it’s ok,” she says quietly, her priority of not making this any more than it needs to be overriding the part of her brain that would usually tell her that the use of his first name would alone rouse suspicion.
“It’s not ok,” he says fiercely, his hand ghosting her lower back as he glares at Grant, “He should show you some respect.”
She smiles tightly at him, a silent request for him to leave it, and she looks back over at the other man, and she watches as he puts two and two together. Grant chuckles to himself, shaking his head as he plants his hands on his hips.
“Oh, I see how it is,” he says, his tongue in his cheek as he steps towards them. Emily feels Aaron pull her slightly closer, his hand at her hip, “You won’t let me buy you a drink because you’re fucking your boss,” he sneers again, his irritation clear as he looks at Aaron, “I’d be careful with this one Hotchner, we all know she’s a whor-”
It happens quickly, and he doesn’t even have insult fully out before Aaron is on him. His hand fisted in Grant’s collar, pushing him roughly against the wall. He all but growls at him, his teeth bared.
“You’d better pick your next words very carefully, Grant,” Aaron spits out, tightening his hold on his collar, “Or I’ll make sure you regret them.”
She’d seen this level of anger on his face before. Years ago now as she and Derek walked in on him punching Foyet even though he was long dead. It makes her burn from the inside out that he’s like this over someone simply insulting her. She thinks she should hate it, that the feminist in her should be screaming at him for protecting her like this. She knows she doesn’t need it, she’s always been more than capable of looking after herself, and she had been for longer than she should have.
She doesn’t need it, but she realises that she wants it. Wants him to love her so fiercely that he’d risk everything to prove it.
“Aaron,” she says, her hand gentle on his shoulder. The tension in him melts as soon as she touches him as if she was the balm he needed, the very thing that brought him back to himself, “Leave it,” she says, staring at him, “Please.”
His jaw tenses but he nods, releasing his hold on the other man, but not before turning to glare at him once more, none of the softness he reserved for her and his son remaining in his eyes.
Grant clears his throat and adjusts his shirt, straightening it out as if you couldn’t see the creases from where Aaron had gripped it. He shakes his head, skulking off back towards the bar.
“You fucking deserve each other,” he throws over his shoulder.
They are silent for a moment before Aaron touches her, his hand on her cheek as he guides her to look at him, searching her for injuries even though Grant had never even touched her.
“Honey,” she says, placing her hand on his, her fingers wrapping around his wrist, “I’m ok,” she assures him, “Are you ok?”
She watches as he takes a couple of deep breaths and he nods sharply, a sure sign that whatever was on his mind wasn’t something he’d share here. It would be later when they were at his place just the two of them. She pushes some hair from his forehead and leans in to kiss him, a quick thing they both need. He pulls her closer, his arm banding around her back as they get lost in each other. She sighs into the kiss and is about to deepen it, her tongue licking across the seam of his lips when someone clearing their throat makes them pull apart. She bumps her head against his as she moves back quickly, grimacing as she rubs the spot on her forehead where it had connected with his.
“Ow, fuck…” she drifts off as she turns to see where the interruption had come from, her mouth falling open slightly as she comes face to face with the entire team. All of them, barring Penelope, look smug, smirks on their faces she can’t quite place. She feels Aaron freeze next to her, his arm around her waist tightening, “Shit.”
“You guys were taking a while,” Dave exclaims, his smile wide as he looks at them both, “And Grant ran out of here like a bat out of hell.”
“We wanted to check you were ok,” Derek adds, clearing his throat, smirking, “Seems like you’re more than ok.”
Aaron sighs and squeezes her hip, “Look, I get that this wasn’t the best way for you to all find out-”
“Oh this isn’t how we found out,” JJ says, “We’ve known for a long time.”
Emily’s eyes go wide and she swallows thickly, thinking of the last several months, and how careful she thought they’d been.
“You…what?”
“You do remember what we all do for a living, right Bella?” Dave replies, looking proud of himself.
“Dave, I swear to God,” she threatens and he has the nerve to laugh at her. Aaron holds her slightly closer and presses a kiss to her temple, an action that only makes them all smile more.
“Spence here,” JJ says, nodding towards Spencer, “Caught you sneaking out of Hotch’s hotel room a few months ago.”
“5 months, 3 weeks and 12 days ago to be precise,” Spencer adds, clearing his throat and staring at the floor when she glares at him.
“So you all knew?” Aaron asks, and she looks up at him, pleased to see he looks more relaxed than he had before the team appeared out of seemingly nowhere.
“I didn’t!” Penelope exclaims, finally breaking out of the shock that had rendered her uncharacteristically quiet so far, “Why did no one tell me?”
___
Emily sighs contently as Aaron pulls her towards him, her bare back against his chest. His warm embrace was welcome as the cool air in his bedroom against the sweat still drying on her skin. He’d been more desperate for her than usual. His hands pulling at her clothes as soon as they were in his apartment, as if he had something to prove.
She’s idly thinking about how she’ll have to make sure her underwear is picked up from the kitchen floor before Jessica brings Jack home in the morning when she hears Aaron talking quietly.
“I’m sorry.”
She frowns and turns her head to look at him, their eyes meeting in the low light of his bedroom, “What for?”
“For how I reacted earlier with Grant. For…” he drifts off and clears his throat, “I’m sorry.”
She hears what he hasn’t said. How he always fears he’s one outburst away from turning into his father, as if that concern in itself wasn’t enough to stop it from happening. She presses a kiss to his cheek and rests her head back on her pillow, grabbing his hand from her hip and linking their fingers together. She lifts their hands and kisses his knuckles, her lips against scars left behind from when he’d last defended a woman he loved. His broken skin the final sign of love he’d been able to give Haley.
“You have nothing to apologise for,” she says gently, kissing his knuckles again before she holds their joint hands to her chest, “He’s a pest, and someone needed to remind him to not be one.”
“He’s more than a pest,” he replies, a touch of anger leaking into his voice again, “He called you a…” he stops himself from saying it, “He’s more than a pest.”
“It’s not the first time someone has called me a whore, Aaron,” she replies softly, thinking of John’s reaction when she told him she was pregnant all those years ago. As if she was somehow more responsible for something they had both done. She smiles as Aaron holds her tighter as if his touch could fix everything bad that had ever happened to her.
Sometimes, she thought it might.
“That doesn’t make it right, sweetheart.”
“I know,” she says, squeezing his hand, “But if it helps, he looked like he might shit himself when you pushed him into that wall.”
Aaron chuckles and kisses the top of her head, “Weirdly, that does make me feel better.”
“Good,” she replies, “Grant was right about one thing though,” she turns in his arms to face him properly, biting her lower lip to stop herself from smiling too widely, her cheeks aching with it.
He frowns, a line appearing in between his brows that she can’t help but press her thumb into, “What do you mean?”
“We deserve each other,” she says softly, her eyes searching his. He smiles and nods, leaning in to kiss her, his hand on her lower back as he pulls her closer.
She can’t explain why it feels like a bigger admittance than the first time she told him she loved him, but it does. As if the final part of herself she hadn’t realised she’d been hiding away is suddenly on display to him. He smiles at her as he pulls back from the kiss, his forehead against hers.
“We really do.”

... I popped a blood vessel in my eye and it HURTS. So I've been doing this. The Neighbors.
Eventually sometime after Freddys band takes off, they move into a subdivision and adopt Gregory. Its one of the few places that will allow carnivores to live there with prey. It was one of those world building things that I really liked seeing in Loonatics unleashed.
Basically every house here is a McMansion. Except for Roger and Jessica Rabbits place, that one is a proper mansion.
BonniexFreddy & Gregory (6)
So first we have Bonnie and Freddy Fazbear. Bonnie takes Freddys last name since Bunny is the rabbit equivalent of Smith, you can't throw a rock with out hitting a bunny with the last name Bunny. Freddy is gone on tour for months leaving Bonnie home to take over a majority of the parenting tasks with Gregory.
Bonnie owns Bonnie Bowl, a bowling alley that he owns and operates, he doesn't need a job with the money that Freddy brings in, but its a good place for the kids to hang out when they need a space away from their parents, plus it give Bonnie something to do really. Gregorys friends often get free games and free food.
Gregory is absolutely unhinged, and almost feral. When they adopted him they don't know much about his history, but they do know he was found sleeping in an alley some where in Acmetropolis. He's got abandonment issues as well which makes Freddys life style of being gone for months hard on the cub.
Rev Runner x Tech E. Coyote & Lil' Beeper(5) & Calamity(7)
Tecumseh E. Coyote (He goes by Tech), graduated youngest and top of his class, completing an Engineering Doctorate in record time (ON scholarships Tech grew up poor), certified Genius and wont let any one forget it either. ACME University wanted him as a professor and he accepted. Tech's father Wile E Coyote owns Wile's repair and lube in town, and Tech will often help his father on what ever hes working on when he has the time. He'll often bring lil' Beeper and Calamity with him to see their Grandparents. Or at least the ones that will accept both of them. Techs mother Dusty passed away before Calamity was born, but Wile has since remarried to a Roadrunner her name is Roadie, and shes nice, Tech likes her. (No relation to Rev and his family)
Rev Runner was born with a silver spoon in his mouth. His father owns a robotics and toy company, that he was sent to ACME University to get a business degree and and engineering degree, but him and Tech shared a class and went on a few dates. When his parents found out he was dating a Coyote (Harriot and Ralph Runner are racist against predators, Coyotes specifically.) and refused to date literally any one else, they disowned him, Rev had to drop out of school and quickly learn the hard things in life. Right now he's a stay at home parent, Tech keeps encouraging him he can go back to school if he wants now that Beeper is 5 and ready for kindergarden, but he's still hemming and hawing about it.
Calamity is 7, they found a surrogate to carry Calamity and much like his father, Tech, he loves tinkering with things. Tech and Wile will often let him help them with repairing things around the house or in the shop. He says he wants to take over Wile's repair and lube when he's grown up. Calamity and lil Beeper don't really get along, they have a sibling rivalry that often times Rev or Tech have to break up a serious fight between the two. Rev is pretty sure its his parents Coyote issues that caused the rift between Beeper and Calamity.
Beeper is only 5, but shes not starting kindergarden till next year because of when her birthday falls. She was another surrogate carry, but due to her birth Rev's parents believe that Revs not nearly as loyal to Tech as he lets on. Despite Tech still being the picture and loving Beeper as much as love Calamity. Revs parents have Called CPS on them so many times due to Tech being a danger to Rev and especially to lil Beeper. They've only succeeded once in taking Beeper away, and that was from a racist CPS agent who was then thoroughly flogged thanks to the Fazbear family lawyer. (After all Predator and Prey couples gotta stick together). Beeper isn't nearly as smart as she feels she should be (She's smart though) but she doesn't tinker like Calamity does and she feels left out often when Calamity gets to tinker with their dad and Grandpa. which causes her to lash out at Calamity to get Techs attention. Not that Tech doesn't pay attention to her as well, its just not the attention she wants.
Chica Couper x Roxanne Wolf & Cassie (6)
Roxy and Chica are both members of Freddys band TBD (The glamrocks??? the Animatronics? idk I'll think of something, Fazbears??? idk) Chicas dad is still serving a heafty sentence when they adopt Cassie, and Roxannes sister Luna was only recently adopted after Roxanne got out of the system her self.
Cassie is 6 and is best friends with Gergory, they are super close, though she has been seen playing with the other girls in the neighbour hood too, often times Chica and Roxy will host sleep overs with both Beeper, Dot, and Babs. And usually the girls have a ton of fun.
Bugs Bunny x Daffy Duck & The warner bros & Warner Sister.
Bugs Bunny is a famous actor, not really retired but focusing on the three kids he adopted. Bugs is a recovering addict from "spargle" and has a secret Drag show circuit that he runs. He's one of the oldest people in the neighbor hood, still not as old as Granny or Roger though.
Daffy Duck has been many things in his life, Actor, Professor, hustler, but mostly free loader. He's basically Bug's trophy husband at this point, sugar baby might be a more accurate description, and despite the protests that they're not together Yakko, Wakko, and Dot call both of them Dad.
Yakko is the eledest at 13, he wants to be a comedian and Bugs is willing to help him get his foot in the door with his connections when hes ready, though Yakko is determined to do it on his own. Him and his high school buddies spend a lot of time at Bonnie bowl since the smaller kids have a hard time bowling. They also spend time in Monty Golf too, since most little kids find golfing boring.
Wakko, the middle kid only a year older than Dot, at 7, he's already got blood sugar issues that need to be watched constantly. He's been told being a professional eater isn't really a thing so now he wants to be a celebrity chef.
Dot is the youngest at 6, she wants to design clothes and own her own fashion brand. She hangs out with her Aunt Lexi and Lola a lot. Trying to come up with the biggest and best dresses.
Ace x Lexi Bunny & Babs and Buster
Ace is Bug's Brother, and his Stunt Double. Ace was never one to want to be in the lime light, but Bugs was always at home in the spot light. Before he was a stunt double Ace worked as a personal trainer in a gym, but they found that Bugs moved in a very specific way, and Ace was the only one who could really move close to like him.
Alexis (Lexi) Bunny was Yakkos teacher, and then she also taught gymnastics when Dot wanted to try cheerleading. Ace and Lexi got married in vegas and ended up with Lexis' cousin Babs after her parents passed away. Then her Best Friend Buster (No relation) now for some reason lives with them all the time now too. Ace and Lexi have resigned in the fact they basically have twins now. Lola is Lexi's twin sister.
Babs wants to be a director and Buster is Bug's biggest fan, wants to be a movie star just like him.
Roger and Jessica Rabbit
They owned the original land that made up the subdivision. Rabbit Acres. Roger was a movie star and Jessica a singer. They've both aged like fine wine. They'll often host neighborhood parties and let the kids come over and play in their pool (With parental supervision) they'll hold a 4th of july party and have cook outs for every major holiday, even the predators are allowed to cook meats, so long as the bunnies and birds get their meals too. Freddy and Tech are usually in charge of cooking the meat on those cook outs. Roger does the bunny meals, and Rev takes care of the bird dishes with Daffy.
Jessica and Roger never had kids of their own so they help out the people in their cul-de-sac as much as they can. Rev and Tech appreciate it the most because Revs parents aren't supportive of their relationship, but Roger and Jessica are. They treat Calamity and Beeper like their own, they even call them Nana and Poppop.

Day 2 & 3: Romance/Kara
The following two weeks pass by in a blur. Letting the team know about their trip went more smoothly than they anticipated. Once contingency plans are put into place and emergency protocols created, the two of them relax into the planning. Knowing Supergirl can still get back in true emergencies made things easier, but they certainly don’t want it to be the go-to. Both of them make sure their obligations are covered during their absence, Kara’s superhero and editor-in-chief duties are the easy part. Lena has to make sure her business interests are placed in reliable and trustworthy hands, a much harder task.
With Lex’s presumed death and Lillain’s passing, all of the Luthor holdings fall back into Lena’s hands. She immediately makes some of the moves her previous self did back before the multiverse collapse. She renames the company to L-Corp, again, and fires all of Lex’s lackeys company-wide. After that, she brings Samantha Arias back on board as CFO. Then, she finds her old assistant, Jessica Huang. However, instead of making her executive assistant, she hires the feisty woman as L-Corp’s new COO. With the two of them in the C-suite, she is confident L-Corp and all its subsidiaries will be in good hands.
With all the crucial things squared away, the two of them work on final checklists for what they need for a month in Ireland. Lena knows most of the everyday things are already stocked at the cottage and has spoken to the groundskeeper to make sure fresh groceries are waiting on them as well. They only need to focus on personal items, clothing, and toiletries. Given the remote location of the place, they likely won’t be needing anything fancy, but toss a few things in just in case.
As the days pass and their departure gets closer, they spend more and more time together. Things seem to be gradually morphing into what they used to be. Before the betrayal. Before the Phantom Zone. Before it all fell apart. The night before their departure, they’re laying on Lena’s bed joking and laughing like nothing has changed, like they’d always done this. It causes Lena to pause and her heart to race.
Kara notices.
“Hey, are you okay?” Blue eyes scan across Lena’s face as she reaches out to place a hand on the long, slender pale fingers lying on the bed between them. “Your um, your heart is beating really fast.”
Lena cocks her head to the side and raises a perfectly sculpted brow in confusion, unintentionally changing the subject. “You can hear my heartbeat. Of course.” She chuckles, only just now realizing that her best friend has always been able to hear her traitorous heart. That she has likely known all along that her heart beats faster when Kara is near. “I guess I should get used to that since you’ve likely been doing it for years, huh?”
Kara ducks her head sheepishly, a rosy blush adorning her cheeks. “I’m sorry, Lena. I, um, I can try to stop? I don’t mean to. At least most of the time, but I…it just…” She sighs, running her hand down her face in frustration at her lack of coherence. “My brain does it automatically a lot of the time. It’s how I know you’re safe. Also, it’s, uh, one of the only things that helps me sleep. Especially now. It, um, it helps keep me calm. I’m really sorry. It’s kind of an invasion of your privacy now that I think about it.”
The blonde looks away, not sure what else she can say to make this any less awkward or creepy. She’s listened to that strong heartbeat for so long now, she’s not even sure she can stop. Not being able to hear it in the Phantom Zone was torture on top of the phantom visions and nightmares.
A cold hand gently rests on her chin, pulling her gaze back to the conversation.
“Well, I suppose technically, it is and I’m not sure how I feel about it. But…there’s a part of me that likes the idea that you find comfort in my heart beat.” She smiles and dips her head into her pillow, hoping it prevents Kara from seeing the blush creeping from her neck onto her cheeks. “Um, I guess I can relate? In a way, maybe? Your scent is kind of like that for me. While you were…gone, I slept on your couch and in your bed a few times. I just…I missed you so much. Your apartment was the only place that I could still smell you. The only place I could still feel you all around me. It was the only place I felt safe…because I felt close to you.”
Neither of them say a word, they both remain completely still and quiet for a long time after those words are spoken. An unwitting confession made. Blue and green eyes quietly watching the other until they fall asleep with their hands gently resting together between them.
The morning sun rouses them from their slumber the following day. They both seem to open their eyes at the same time, smiling sleepily just as Lena’s alarm sounds into the room breaking the serenity. Kara groans and pulls the duvet over her head as Lena giggles at the Kryptonian’s antics.
“Come on, Kara. You know we have to leave for the airport in an hour and if you want to stop and get breakfast on the way, we need to get up.” Lena pokes the woman in the side and pulls the covers away from her face. They both laugh as Kara lets out a whining groan. “I’ll buy you your favorite from Noonan’s.” She sing-songs the words and grins as she watches the blonde’s eyes light up.
Hopping out of bed, they get through their morning routines pretty quickly. It takes them about 45 minutes before they’re out the door and down to the waiting car, luggage in tow. Food secured and luggage loaded, they head to the private airstrip where Lena's personal jet is waiting for them. It’s been a while since she’s used this particular plane and she’s a little excited to show Kara.
Lena exits the car and makes her way over to her pilot while Kara loads their bags. Once they’re buckled into their seats ready for take off, she reaches out for Kara’s hand. As much time as she spends on planes, takeoff never gets easier. When the plane is in the air and levels off, Lena squeezes Kara’s hand and unbuckles, gesturing for her to stand. She shows the blonde to the sleeping quarters and restrooms as well as where the snacks are. She smiles at the wonder on her best friend’s face and is briefly reminded of their trip to Kaznia before shaking the memory away.
The two of them fall into a comfortable silence for the next few hours, Lena reading through some new scientific research and Kara sifting through the contract Cat has been after her to look over. The two women are lost in their thoughts and prospective distractions until Kara’s stomach lets out a monstrous rumble. They both chuckle before Lena sits her reading aside and heads to the galley to heat the food she had placed on the plane earlier. Having only been in the air for five hours, she knows they still have eight more to go. She just hopes there are enough snacks on board to keep a Kryptonian stomach at bay. Loading the plates and drinks onto a rolling cart, she heads back to their seats to a grinning blonde.
She smiles as she watches Kara’s eyes sparkle and face brighten at the first bite of their late lunch. “This is actually really good, Lena. Lasagna?” She says, mouth still half full of food before she swallows and grins. “Where’d you get it? This is better than Eliza’s!”
“Well, that’s good to know.” She blushes and reaches out to take a drink of her wine. “I made it earlier this week and had it brought over so we could have something decent to eat on our flight. There’s a few other things in the fridge if you get hungry again later.” She gestures back toward the galley before focusing back on her plate.
Kara’s eyes widen and she looks at Lena with such fondness and affection that the raven haired genius has to look away. “Y-you made this?!” She gaped at the woman sitting next to her. “Lena! I didn’t know you could cook. Why didn’t you tell me? You mean I could have been enjoying this for all these years! You’ve been holding out on me!”
Lena can’t help but laugh and roll her eyes at the blonde. “If you think about it, Kara. There are a lot of things we never really talked about during our friendship. Maybe we can remedy that on this trip?” She swallows another drink of her wine and raises a brow at the now blushing blonde.
“But yes, we’ve never really talked about my love of cooking, I guess. I don’t have a lot of time for it anymore. Or at least I didn’t. It’s something I taught myself when I finally had my own place in Metropolis. It was a way to be different from the Luthors.” Her eyes drift off as her mind thinks fondly of the days at her start-up, a bearded smile, and the man she once loved. She clears her throat and forces her mind back to the moment with a shrug. “I’ve always considered cooking as a kind of experiment, just with ingredients and not chemicals or prototypes. It seems to work in my favor.”
They finish up their meals and Lena takes the plates and glasses back to the galley. She takes a moment to clean and stow everything, giving herself a little break from being in such close proximity to Kara. Now that she is painfully aware of the fact that Kara can hear her heartbeat, she has to pay more attention to the way her body reacts to her best friend.
Eventually, they both start to drift off to sleep. By the third time Kara’s head bounces off Lena’s shoulder, she decides they need to retire to the bedroom for the evening. It’s a good decision. Sleeping through the remainder of the flight makes the trip seem much faster. By the time they both wake from their nap, the pilot has come over the speaker and asked them to take their seats for landing.
The rest of the trek to the cottage goes by in a blur. They arrive at the airport to an awaiting SUV and the cottage groundskeeper, a nice older gentleman named Liam Walsh. Liam helps pack them into the SUV and takes the wheel for the one hour drive to Islandmagee. He shows them some of the landmarks and recommends a few places they should visit during their stay. He also reminds Lena that he lives close-by and has the keys if she needs him to take care of anything during their stay.
As he pulls the SUV into the gravel drive in front of the cottage, he turns to Lena and smiles. “Here’s the keys to the vehicle, love.” He drops the keys into her palm and squeezes her wrist. “You look so much like her, ya know. Your mam.”
Lena’s mouth drops open. She wanted to ask Liam if he was related to her mother given his last name and the area he lives. “Y-you knew my mother?” She stutters almost too quiet to be heard. “A-are you kin to us?” She latches onto his large hand, desperate for any information she could get.
“Aye. Lizzie was my cousin. We grew up on this land. It’s been in our family for hundreds of years. You’ve got lots of kin ‘round here, love.” Liam smiled, patting Lena on the shoulder before opening the door to get their luggage out. “Why dontcha get settled in and rest. I’ll come by again in a few days and we can talk. No doubt you’ve got some questions.”
Kara reaches out for Lena’s arm, gently squeezing before whispering, “You okay?” She watches as a few tears roll down pale cheeks. The blonde bolts out of the backseat and pulls her best friend into a warm hug. “Come on, let’s get inside.”
Liam watches the two of them and smiles. He drops their bags on the small patio at the front door and steps aside. “Alright, love. My number’s on the notepad next to the phone in the den. Give me a ring in a couple days. I’ll come by and we can chat. Maybe have ya over for dinner to meet your cousins.” He winks at her and pats her shoulder again as he walks by, heading to his own car parked in the drive. “Glad to have ya here, Lena. I look forward to getting to know you.”
She is left speechless. When she spoke with Liam before their arrival, she was curious if he was related to her mother and by extension her, but she didn’t want to assume. Walsh is a common name. To know that she has blood relatives so close, people that actually knew her mother, it’s overwhelming in the best way possible. She’s looking forward to finding out more about this side of her family. However, right now, she wants to get inside the cottage and process the chaos of her emotions.
“You ready to go inside?” Kara asks, cerulean eyes watching Lena with deep concern. “Today has been a lot. I’ll understand if you need some time to process things alone. I can make myself scarce if that’s what you need.” She wraps her arms around Lena’s shoulders, pulling her into her chest before stepping back and smiling to give her best friend a little space.
Lena takes a deep breath as she wipes the tears away from her cheeks. “Yes, let’s go explore the cottage. I know it doesn’t look much like it did when my mother lived here, but I’ve only seen pictures and I’m curious.” She turns the key and pushes the door open.
The place steals her breath. She can see that it has been remodeled and modernized. The door opens into a bright and open den with a fireplace. There is an island bar separating the living space from the kitchen. Through the floor-to-ceiling windows, she can see a patio with a table and a beautiful view of the shoreline. The more they explore, the more breathtaking the place is.
“What do you say we check out the patio before we finish exploring the rest of the cottage?” Kara asks, reaching for Lena’s hand to pull her toward the door. “We can get settled after we explore. Come on, it’s 7:00 am, Lena. We have all day!” They both laugh as Kara pulls her out the back door onto the patio.
It’s a sight she didn’t expect. Lush green grass surrounded by bushes and trees, a telescope sitting on the deck overlooking the bay, and a hot tub sitting in the corner surrounded by a privacy fence with a built-in bar. Just beyond the hot tub, a little closer to the shoreline, there is a quaint little gazebo with a couch that’s perfect for watching sunrises or sunsets. It’s so much more than she ever imagined. Of course, the amenities scream Luthor and that makes her roll her eyes, but she is grateful that they maintained the cottage feel of the place. It’s perfect and she can’t wait to see what else awaits her inside.
The two of them eventually make their way through the entire cottage. It’s smaller than Lena initially thought, but still has two bedrooms, a small library/office in the loft, an open concept kitchen and den, a full bathroom between the bedrooms, and a small water closet close to the den. Add that to the outdoor space and it’s more than enough for them to live comfortably for the next month. Or longer should they choose.
Once they get their luggage into their rooms and unpacked, they meet back in the den. Lena settles into the couch while Kara gets a fire going. She catches herself watching the blonde as she arranges the firewood into the fireplace. Her best friend’s sinewy forearms easily capture her attention, the way she seems to move so fluidly through the task. It reminds her of all the times she’s drifted into fantasies, Kara's arms, her hands, and her imagination conjuring up the abs hidden under those cardigans. There have been plenty of times that her brain’s focus has been Kara, Kara, Kara.
“Lena! Where’d you go?” Kara says, waving her hands in front of her best friend’s face. She chuckles as she kneels in front of the CEO. “I called your name several times. I got us both a bottle of water. I figure we can chat for a while before it’s time for lunch and you can spend some time in the library after that, if you want. You seem a bit distracted. If you need to spend time alone, please just tell me. I don’t want to be in your way. I know you need to figure some things out.” She watches Lena with an apprehensive look on her face, waiting for an answer.
She can feel her cheeks burning as she realizes Kara caught her deep into her not so platonic thoughts about her. Obviously, Kara doesn’t know that, but it doesn’t make it any less embarrassing. Swallowing her shame, she forces herself to look into her favorite pair of blue eyes. “Sorry. I was just thinking about some things. You getting the fire going just caused some things to resurface in my mind. It’s been a long day, so much to process.”
She shakes her head, not sure where to even begin sifting through all the things in her head. Then it dawns on her, a way for the two of them to ask and talk about things they haven’t in the past. “How about we play a game? We were just talking about how there are things we’ve never really talked about, right?”
Kara’s brow furrows, the adorable little crinkle forming. “Yeah, that did come up recently. You can ask me anything you want, Lena. We promised no more lies. Whatever you ask, I’ll answer.” She cocks her head to the side, trying to figure out what game could be related to this topic. “Is there a game that you have in mind? One that would help in this situation?”
Lena smiles at Kara’s adorable head tilt. It has always reminded her of a golden retriever puppy. “Have you not ever played 20 Questions? I can’t believe that. There’s no way with Alex as your sister that you’ve never heard of that game!” She feigns shock and presses her hand to her chest. “It’s pretty easy to play. Each of us asks a question and we both answer.”
“I have heard of the game, but now that you mention it, I haven’t ever played it. There are a couple games like that I’ve never played.” She smiles shyly and a light rosiness colors her cheeks. “Alex mentioned a game once called, um, ‘Never Have I Ever’, I think that’s what it’s called. I never played that one either. She said it was a drinking game and well, you know human alcohol doesn’t do anything for me.” She gestures up and down herself as Lena’s eyes track her movements.
“Well, we can play both, if you want. We don’t have to drink right now since it isn’t even noon yet in Ireland. Though technically, it’s after midnight for us.” Lena smirks, raising her left brow in the way she knows gets Kara’s attention. “It’s up to you, but for the record, I packed some Aldebaran rum for you. Alex got it for me. I wanted you to be able to relax and drink if you wanted to.”
Kara smiles, her eyes softening with pure affection for the woman next to her. “Let’s save the rum for later. We can still play either of the games, if you want. I think both of us are too tired. Plus, we’ve had a really long day so drinking might not be the best idea.” She reaches out to grab her bottle of water and drains it before looking back at Lena. “Would you rather play 20 Questions or ‘Never Have I Ever’ right now?”
“Hmm, let me think.” Lens taps her chin with a smirk painted on her lips. She’s not sure how she wants to play this. Either game will get her some information she has been curious about for a long time, but one is decidedly less platonic than the other. It really comes down to how brave she is feeling at the moment. It isn’t like there’s anyone else around to hear any of their answers anyway, right? That thought helps make her decision. “What if we play ‘Never Have I Ever’ first? If it’s too much for either of us, we can switch to 20 Questions?”
A big, wide smile spreads across Kara’s face and she squeals in excitement. “Yes! I’ve never played, but always wanted to based on Alex and her friends talking about it. I’m happy that my first time is with you. How do you decide who goes first?” She bounces in her seat, practically vibrating with anticipation. “How are we going to know who has done the things asked for ‘Never Have I Ever’ if we don’t have drinks?”
Lena chuckles. She can’t get over how excitable and adorable Kara is about this. “How about we get more water and use it as the drink for the game?” She watches as Kara walks away, the jeans she’s wearing hug her muscular thighs and ass like they were made specifically for her. Lena has to bite her cheek to prevent herself from letting out a groan of frustration at how unfairly attractive her best friend is. For what feels like the hundredth time today, she shakes the thoughts from her head and sighs. Her eyes slowly migrate back to an appropriate place, locking onto amused blue ones. “I’ll ask the first question to get the game started if that’s okay with you.”
Kara nods her head and hands the bottle over to Lena, turning to stir the fire again before she plops back down next to the CEO. “That’s fine with me. You’ve played this stuff before and I haven’t.” She grabs the blanket off the back of the couch and slides closer to throw it across both their laps. “Ready whenever you are!”
Leaning her head back onto the cushion behind her, Lena tries to think of an easy first question. She doesn’t want to ask anything too heavy or personal right away since she isn’t sure how Kara will react. “I’m trying to think of something that would have been asked if you played this game as a teenager or in college. Wait, did you go to parties in college?” She looks over at the reporter in curiosity. “We never really talked about our college years. Mine was…interesting.”
“Yes, I went to parties in college. A lot of them, in fact.” She grins as Lena’s raised eyebrow and shrugs. “What? People think I am way more innocent than I actually am. No one ever really asks me about things, they just make a lot of assumptions.” Her hand moves up to her glasses and she pulls them off, tossing them on the table.
Inside, Lena’s mind is firing rapidly, her thoughts spiraling at what Kara has just said. She isn’t as innocent as people think she is? In what way? Lena’s poor brain is stumbling over itself trying to decipher that. “Okay, in that case, Miss not-so-innocent, never have I ever played spin-the-bottle.” She watches as Kara maintains eye contact with her, screws the cap off the bottle of water, and takes a drink. A dark manicured brow shoots up in surprise as she takes her own drink. “I guess there is a lot more to learn about you, Darling.”
“Does that mean it’s my turn to ask a question?” Kara grins, shifting in her seat so she is facing Lena. A nod of the CEO’s head confirms and she taps her chin in thought. “Never have I ever…gone skinny dipping.” Curious blue eyes land on mischievous green.
Lena takes a drink and winks. Kara shakes her head and smiles. “What? I was a very rebellious teenager. Boarding school was very…educational in many ways.” She laughs at the blonde’s gaping mouth and lightly closes it with her fingers. “Better close that or you’ll catch flies. I take it you’ve never gone skinny dipping?”
Kara nods affirming her assumption. Her blushing cheeks betraying her attempt at composure.
“Is that because you’ve never had the opportunity or by your own choice?” She asks, hoping she isn't prying too much. “You don’t have to tell me, but I am curious and I definitely want to know more about you. My first time skinny dipping was with Andrea and a few other girls from boarding school. We snuck out of our rooms one weekend after midnight and went to the pool. It was a very enlightening experience for a 16 year old me.” She waggles her eyebrows and waits.
“Wow. You went skinny dipping when you were that young?” Kara asks, a little surprised, but also not really. “I think I was still too awkward and weird at that age to do anything remotely rebellious. I didn’t really feel comfortable in my body until I was in college too. So, I didn’t ever really have a chance to get naked in a pool with anyone.” She dips her head, suddenly a bit bashful about her inexperience.
Lena reaches out for her hand and squeezes it, silently asking Kara to look at her. “There’s no reason to be shy about it, Kara. We’ve lived different lives and experienced different things. It’s not like there is a map on how to navigate being a teenager.” She pats the blonde’s warm hand and pulls hers back onto her own lap. She’s not really sure what she wants to ask next, but she definitely wants to steer this towards romantic relationships and sexuality. How though? “Now, my next question. Hmmm. Never have I ever…had a crush on a friend.”
They both take a drink of their water.
“Who was yours?” Kara asks, an unreadable look in her eyes. “I’ve had more than one, but James was one of those, as you know.” Her eyes dart down to her hands, picking the label off the bottle.
“Well, my first crush was on a boy named Taylor before I got shipped off to an all girls boarding school.” She rolls her eyes at the thought of that kid. “The first real crush that turned into something? Probably either Veronica or Andrea.” A smirk spreads across her face and she watches Kara’s eyes widen and mouth once again drop open.
“Y-you…but I thought…women?” Kara stutters incoherently before running a hand down her face and tilting her head. Once she gathers her composure and reboots her brain, she asks her question. “So, you’ve been with women? Huh. I guess we’ve never really talked about our sexuality. How is that possible?”
Lena laughs, a full-bellied bellowing laugh that bowls her over and causes her eyes to water. When she manages to collect herself, she looks up to an amused blonde with her head resting in her hand and elbow planted on the back of the couch. “Like I said earlier, there are a lot of things we’ve never talked about. Our romantic inclinations included. But to answer your question, yes, I have been with women. More so than men, actually. I’ve been in relationships with two men and three women, but have had…liaisons with a mix of both.”
She shifts to face the blonde, resting her head in her own hand on the back of the couch. “I suppose if I had to label myself, I would say that I am bisexual with a preference for women, but I rarely date. With my last name, my wealth, and my job, I barely have time for sleep.” She scoffs. “Plus, I’d rather spend time with you when I have it. Anyway, what about you?”
They smile at each other. Kara closes her eyes and takes a deep breath, opening them to settle ocean blues on emerald green. “Romance and love are hard for me. Things on Krypton were different. We didn’t have dating or even sex for that matter.” She huffs in frustration, not sure how to explain all the nuances of Kryptonian relationships. “I can tell you about Kryptonian norms another time, but dating has always been hard for me. Friendship too, if I am being honest. I mean, I thought I had been in love before, but now, it’s very clear to me what I felt wasn’t real.”
Lena stares at the superhero waiting for her to finish her sentence. When it becomes clear that Kara is lost in her own thoughts, she places a hand on the blonde’s forearm. “You don’t have to talk about this if you don’t want to, Kara. We can talk about something else.” She gently rubs her thumb back and forth across the exposed tan skin under her palm.
Kara gives her a half-grin. “No, it’s fine. I just got stuck in my head for a minute. In answer to your question, Krypton didn’t really have sexuality and the gender of two people in a relationship didn’t matter. I think, in Earth terms, it would be called pansexuality? I’m not sure, but I think that is the closest thing to it. So, that’s how I have always approached my own.”
She shrugs and looks down to where their skin is still connected, Lena’s thumb still moving across her skin. “I’ve never really dated any women, but I have been attracted to them. Even made out with a few in college. I guess because I’ve always been told to ‘blend in’ I never considered the fact that I could date women. At least not until Alex came out.”
Green eyes scan Kara’s face with affection and curiosity. “Would you be interested in dating women now? You’ve obviously dated men exclusively before. Is it something you want to explore? Romantically, I mean, in case that wasn’t clear.” She winks at the blonde as blue eyes roll at her.
“Really? I think you made that clear, Lena.” She chuckles and pulls her bottom lip between her teeth. Her eyes flutter briefly as she tries to figure out how to answer the question. “I’m not really sure how to answer that question. In general the answer is yes, but I am also currently only interested in one person. Romantically.”
This captures Lena’s attention fully. There’s someone Kara is interested in and none of their friends have mentioned them? How is that possible? “Is this person someone I know? How come you haven’t mentioned them before? We’ve been together almost non-stop since we rescued you from the Phantom Zone.”
She can feel her heart rate increase and her stomach tie itself in knots. It’s making her feel panicky and she’s doing her best to reign her emotions in because she knows Kara can hear her heartbeat. She takes a deep breath and again bites the inside of her cheek to calm herself. “Sorry, I just mean that I figured I would know about it since we’re usually always together. So who is this mystery person?” She tries to sound nonchalant and excited, but she’s not sure it landed.
“You definitely know them. Quite well, in fact.” Kara smiles, her eyes resting on the spot that Lena’s hand is now gripping her forearm instead of gently rubbing it. She’s incredibly nervous about what she wants to say. She’s been planning on telling Lena how she feels for a while, but doing it now could mean she is going back to National City early. Especially if things go badly, but Alex said Lena felt the same.
One more deep breath, you can do this Kara.
“Remember how I said earlier that I thought I had been in love, but now I know what I felt before wasn’t real?” She watches as Lena nods her head. “Well, I thought I was in love with Mon-El and I guess I did love him, but I was never in love with him. I know that now. It was something I realized when I was in the Phantom Zone. It’s very clear to me that I am 100% madly  in love with this person and I’ve never felt anything else like it.”
Wide green eyes are fixed on Kara’s face, unsure what to say or do. Lena clears her throat, doing her best to keep her own emotions out of this conversation. “It sounds like you’re certain about how you feel. Have you told them yet? They’d be insane not to return your feelings, Kara. I hope you know that.” She does her best to stop her heart from plummeting into her stomach at the thought of someone else getting to love Kara the way that she does.
Kare pulls her head out of her hand and flips her hand to take Lena’s into her palm. “It makes me really happy to hear you say that and I hope you mean it.” She brings her other hand up to push dark inky locks behind her ear, her palm and thumb coming to rest on a pale cheek. A smile spreads across her face as she watches green eyes flutter closed at her touch. “It’s you, Lena. I’m hopelessly, romantically, and completely in love with you.”
Lena’s eyes fly open, her heart does somersaults in her chest, and her stomach erupts into a million little butterflies. Without her permission, her eyes fill with tears and her mouth drops open. When she starts to feel Kara retreating from her space, she forces her brain to reboot and her mouth to work. “Y-you l-love me? Th-the person is m-me?” She blinks owlishly, unable to comprehend that Kara confessed her love. The woman she loves actually loves her back. “You want to be with me? Romantically? Not in a ‘that’s-what-friends-are-for’ kind of way, but dates and romance and all that comes with it?”
A pretty rouge blush colors tanned, lightly freckled cheeks. Sparkling blue eyes and a shy little smile shine back at Lena. She can’t believe this is happening. A dimpled smile stretches across her own face.
Kara loves her back. She loves Kara and Kara loves her back.
Holy. Shit. Is this real?
Oh fuck. She hasn’t said it back! She needs to say it back!
She scrambles to get the words out of her mouth, her hand latching onto the one that is still resting on her cheek. “I love you too, Kara. I have for so long. I just…I can’t believe you love me back. I didn’t think you would ever feel the same.” She laughs, she can’t believe this is happening. “Is this real? I feel like I’m going to wake up any moment.”
Kara laughs. “If it’s a dream, I don’t ever want to wake up.”
Their eyes meet and they both lean in. When their lips meet for the first time, it feels like the world stops for a moment. Time restarts. Separately, they each realize that the universe may have broken them in very different ways, but those edges allow them to fit together so perfectly now. As if they just needed the last missing puzzle piece to slot into place so their hearts can finally arrive home.

I stood at my locker absent-mindedly. I wasn’t in the best of moods. Bella was off, supposedly breaking it off with Edward since a solid week had passed. While I was dodging Jacob and accepting Jasper’s continuous stream of gifts, Bella was getting to know her imprint, Leah, and struggling to make a decision.
I was over the betrayal enough to know that I had to talk to Jasper. But I wasn’t so over it that I wanted to surround myself with my friends. It’s not like I could tell them anything, as desperately as they longed for gossip. Hell, even summarizing it would be crazy. ‘Sorry, guys, I’ve been caught up in a werewolf-vampire love triangle.’
I would be institutionalized for that without doubt. So, instead, when they asked, I said that Jacob and I were only friends. And that Jasper and I were just staying away from the P.D.A. and focusing on school. Jessica was closest to me, despite her hard and somewhat bitchy exterior, and often asked me for more details. But I wouldn’t give anything up until things became semi-normal again.
I opened my locker, and gasped quietly. Today, instead of flowers or chocolates or a romantic letter, there was an adorable teddy bear. There was a tiny envelope tucked under its arm, and I picked it up. I flipped it open, my heart fluttering.
‘You made the right decision. I miss you. - Jas’
I sighed dreamily, putting it back in my locker for the time being. I grabbed my stuff.
I let out a gasp as I shut the locker, as Alice was leaning against it with a friendly grin. She had a knowing glint in her eyes and I sent her a strained smile, rather nervous to be chatting after brushing her off for such a long time.
“Hey, Alice,” I greeted tensely.
“No need to be so awkward! We’re friends, aren’t we?” she giggled, and my anxiety seeped away like water off a duck’s back. “Jasper and I were pretty much waiting it out, you know. Mutts aren’t any better than us ‘blood suckers.’”
“…Right,” I heaved. “I hate to ask you this, but… could you ask Jasper if we could meet up or something after school? I guess I owe him an apology.”
She grabbed my arm and linked us together as we started walking to class. “Oh, I already knew you’d ask that! So, don’t worry. He’ll pick you up after school. Or, if you’re feeling extra rebellious —"
“I don’t even need to hear the other option, Al,” I groaned. “I just… really want things to go back to normal. As normal as it can be with all this crappy drama going on. Speaking of which, how will Edward hold up?”
Alice’s smile faded. “Well… it’ll take a toll on him. He’ll probably leave fo a few months, years, before he decades to recuperate. He plans to work an… internship for the Valtori.”
“The Valtori?”
“Pretty much, our kind’s government,” she explained. “A select group of the strongest vampires work to make sure the various worlds stay in balance. Without them, the human race would be extinct.”
“Honestly, I’m surprised we’re not already.”
“Believe me, the world’s never been in a better place. And so far, I haven’t seen any signs of impending world doom. So, now that you and Jasper have this whole back and forth out of the way, things will go great for you two!”
“That doesn’t sound stressful at all,” I chortled.
“Oh! No pressure at all,” she corrected. “It’ll be an easy ride here on out now that that mutt’s out of the way.”
I clicked my tongue in annoyance as she pulled me into the AP Literature classroom. A sense of deja vu consumed me as I realized that Jasper was sitting in his normal spot and the chair beside him was pulled out expectantly. Alice was giggling like a madman as I wordlessly sat behind him, as I heard my fellow classmates point it out. Especially Jessica, who moved spots to sit beside me once more.
Jessica leaned over, staring expectantly. “So?” she hissed quietly, and I leaned over to her in return.
“We’re, uh, getting… back on track?” I muttered, not quite sure how to describe the change in plans.
“I knew it!” she chortled. “You two have definitely had sex and that’s why, right —?”
My face reddened instantly and I slapped her arm. She pulled away, a gleeful smile on her face. “Jesus, Jessica, shut up.”
“It’s not like they can hear us. But you’ve pretty much confirmed it for me.”
It’s not like I could admit that they could, in fact, hear what she was saying. Instead, I bowled lowering my voice even lower. “No, Jessica, we haven’t. We’ve just been taking our time —"
“But you are going to have sex, right?”  she prodded expectantly. “Like, Mike and I aren’t even dating, but after we went to the winter formal - which, you totally missed out on, by the way -, things got all heated and it was incredible —"
“Jess!” I hissed even louder, my face beat red. “Christ, you’ve already told me this. Several times. T.M.I.”
She grabbed me as I pulled away, but I sent her a playful glare. She just laughed and, as the teacher walked in, I buried my face in my hands in pure embarrassment. I could feel both Jasper and Alice’s gazes boring into me, and that made it even worse.
So, class time was spent recovering from the overwhelming shame Jessica thrusted upon me. While the rest was sending yearning glances Jasper’s way and occasionally catching him in the act of doing the same. This also happened during lunch, and Jessica, who couldn’t keep her big mouth shut, told everyone that just’ve been what was going on.
The day was pretty insufferable. However, as soon as the last class was let out, I forgot today’s contents and grabbed my things. I told Bella I’d be riding with Jasper - and I gave her a hug, too, since she was still heartbroken from breaking up with Edward - and she accepted it immediately.
As I waited by the road in anticipation, I knew that I’d have to have a girl’s night with Alice and Bella. Just to clear the air.
And then the grey sedan pulled up beside me. I steeled myself before opening the door and hopping in. Jasper, with a coy smirk, nodded to me. No words of small talk were exchanged. They weren’t necessary. Jasper knew where he was going, so I figured we’d start the conversation when we arrived at our destination.
I was still cuddling the cute teddy bear to my chest as he pulled up an offshoot that led up a mountain ridge. The scenery changed and my ears popped from the higher altitude. As dead, but growing, spring trees surrounded us and the road grew continuously more gravelly, he eventually parked.
He peered at me, his expression as gentle as I’d always known it to be. “Shall we, sweetheart?”
I nodded, butterflies swarming in the pit of my stomach. I abandoned the gift in the car and shut the door behind me. It was right to have brought a jacket with me because the air was rather chilly up here. We were surrounded by nothing but woodland, the ground dead and brown.
Jasper extended a hand to me, and I took it. He was cold. Of course he was. But I longed for every minute of every day. If I spent a lifetime of getting sick because of his body temperatures, the trade-off would be worth it. Luckily, I had yet to experience any illness because of it.
He pulled me closer, and shivers rolled down my spine. My cheeks became flushed in anticipation. He led me somewhat up the ridge, but he halted. “This will take all day, darling. You don’t mind if I…?”
“If you…?”I prodded.
Instead of continuing, I was suddenly up in the air. I let out a squeak, adrenaline coursing through my veins. Jasper had lifted me and was clutching me to his chest. My hands immediately found themselves gripping at his loosely fitting shirt, and it was like the word around me was but a blur.
I got quite the headache from the sheer speed of his movements. I buried my face in his chest, and I heard a quiet chuckle emit from his Southern vocals. The wind was whipping at my face and hair like it was nothing, but he eventually came to a halt.
I raised my head, fluttering my lashes at him. I looked around the scenery, my heart immediately bounding in my chest. The sight was beautiful.
We were atop a mossy ridge, close to the edge of a cliff. I wasn’t the fondest of heights, but the view was impeccable. The mountains rolled over, pine trees decorating the lower altitudes. Splitting the mountains was a calm river, the prettiest shade of blue I’d ever seen. And, for the first time, the sun was out. I always thought he was allergic to it, but it just peaked my curiosity.
“Its…” I trailed off.
“Isn’t it?”
He gently sat me on my feet, but his arms were still secured around my waist. He propped his head on mine, nuzzling against me. I leaned back, pressing into him, as I gazed at the view.
I shielded my eyes as the sun beamed down on us frivolously. Still, no conversation started, but in concern, I turned to Jasper, pressing my chest against his.
Instead of seeing my… boyfriend set aflame like vampire always were in the novels, his skin was that of diamonds. He sparkled, every inch of flesh blinding me with its beauty. My hand reached toward his cheek, my fingers ghosting over his pale features.
“And yet you never mentioned this until now,” I gawked.
He tilted his head smugly. “Maybe I would’ve if you weren’t stressing out about the mutt.”
My heart fell in my chest. “It’s…whatever. It’s not important anymore. I’d rather not have that mentioned, seeing as it was a huge embarrassment for me.”
Jasper’s mouth twitched, and he dipped down, placing a kiss against my forehead. I leaned into it, focusing on the sensation rather than the many worries I harbored within me. When he pulled away, he ledge over to a mossier part of the rocks and ushered me to sit down. I did so and he followed suit.
I supposed that the distance did me good. All of the negativity I’d harbored toward the vampire was gone, and I was left only with pure adoration. My hands held me upright and I leaned onto Jasper’s chest. He was still dazzling, but my attention returned to the view as I tried to gather my thoughts.
“I’m… sorry.”
“Don’t be, princess,” he replied immediately, not an ounce of resentment in his voice. “I was being… pushy. But. It’s always hard to control myself when mu - werewolves are around. Especially moronic ones like he is.”
“You’re telling me,” I chuckled dryly. “I just… he sounded so sure of himself. I couldn’t help it.”
“I understand. There’s nothing to feel sorry about.”
“I should’ve just went with my gut from the beginning,” I confessed. “It’s been you Jasper. It always has been. Even when Jacob was being so affectionate and sweet, I wanted it to be you in his place. You’re what I want, Jas. I just… I just didn’t want you to be what I want.”
“You think I wasn’t terrified when Alice first came to me and told me you were coming? I was scared,” he admitted. “I was scared that, because you were a human, things would be difficult. But, if fate is real, then it was real the moment I realized I couldn’t smell your blood. I couldn’t hear your heart pumping. All of my instincts that scream for human blood vanished the moment I met you.”
I smiled, nuzzling up against him. All of my concerns were obsolete. Nothing. They had vanished, never there to begin with. And as I felt his cold flesh against mine, all of the pieces fell into place.
“Y/n,” he muttered affectionately.
I lifted my head and cupped his sparkling cheek. “Yes, Jas?”
His lip twitched. “I love you.”
Instead of returning the sentiment - even though I knew I reciprocated his feelings -, I pressed my lips against his. There was longing in his kiss and he returned it instantly. We danced with one another, our mouths molded perfectly for the other. He suddenly pulled away, though. And, just like last time, his eyes were ruby red. This time, though, I didn’t worry.
“I know you feel the same way.”
“I do,” I giggled. “But after the hell you and Jake put me through, you’ll have to endure not hearing it for a while.”
He feigned offense, a low purr escaping his lips. “Fair enough.”
As I gazed into his blood orbs, I sighed, pressing my forehead against his. “God, I missed you, Jas.”
“You already know I’ve missed you just the same. Does that mean I’m forgiven?”
“There’s… nothing to forgive now. Just stop getting caught in that stupid rivalry.”
“No promises.”
~~~
I painted on the f/c nail polish on my toes, the moisture from the face mask Bella and I adorned relaxing. In the end, the girl’s night I arranged was better off as a sister’s night. I’ve heard horror stories of other sibling pairs and they sounded like hell, but Bella and I were best friends. She was more than happy to spend the evening in my room with a bowl of popcorn, a manicure kit, and lots of gossip spill.
“I’m not sure how you keep managing to convince me to paint my nails,” Bella hummed "when I already know I’ll bite off the polish in under a day.”
“It’s the thought that counts, dear sister. And this time, if the coat lasts even a day I’ll count it as a win.”
Bella laughed, color rising to her cheeks. She was painting her nails blue since it was her favorite color. The colors with less pop suited her personality and style, so I never tried to convince her to use any of my personal favorites.
“You know,” she suddenly spoke up, "I think Jessica’s ecstatic that Edward and I broke up. She’s a nice girl, but she wears her jealousy on her, uh, sleeve.”
“Doesn’t she?” I chided in agreement. “She was buzzing when she found out. And she didn’t even find out from me. She actually thought that I didn’t know and told me everything as if I didn’t know anything about it. The girl’s kind of crazy.”
“Sometimes, I wonder if she even likes Mike,” she laughed. “I mean, we’re all obsessed with the Cullens, but she’s so obsessed, you know? I now you two are best friends, but I just know she’s hoping that you and Jasper break up, too.”
“Well, it’s a shame, because that’s not happening anytime soon. Especially now that Jasper is officially my boyfriend. I’ve never seen him so ecstatic. He’s actually been talking to his fellow classmates just to find a chance to brag about him dating me.”
Bella cooed, accidentally painting her actual toe. “That’s so cute! I love that for you guys. Like, I can’t stress enough how cute you two are. I already know you haven’t mentioned this to dad, though.”
I tittered nervously. “…Well, with everything we mentioned on the Cullens, I can literally hear him cocking his rifle in his head. I’m still waiting for the right time to mention it, ya know?”
“Yeah, it’s understandable.”
I pursed my lips, deciding to bring up a more sorrowful topic. “…So, how are things going with Leah? Especially now that Edward’s gone?”
“Really good. I feel terrible for Edward because what we had was good, but there wasn’t any real chemistry. It was just base, uh, attraction. But with Leah, even though she’s kind of rough around the edges, I can talk and do anything with her for hours. Like, I think I want to ask her to be my girlfriend so I can officially introduce her to dad. Do you think he’d take it well?”
“At this point, it would be an upgrade from a Cullen no matter what in his mind,” I quipped. I noticed her unease, though, and swooped in to reassure her. "But, nah, seriously, he’s so chill. He’d be happy for you. It’s a new century and you two are literally soulmates.”
Bella flushes she dipped the brush into the tiny jar. “I’m sure of it. The only thing that’s annoying, though, is you. Know how I stop by the reservation, like, every day, yeah? Jacob’s been bothering me none stop ever since that night. He’s trying to get to you through me and - thank god for Leah and her temper - he never shuts up until Leah loses it and tells him to piss off.”
“…Right, Jake. I may be obsessed with Jasper and always have been, but I’m still kind of reeling from the betrayal.”
“I know you are. It’s why I haven’t gone easy on him. I even yelled at him once, and you know I have the patience of a saint.”
“Aw, you’d do that for me?” I squealed, finally letting my f/c nails dry. Bella sent me a coy smile as we both finished up. “But, anyways, prom is right around the corner —"
“It’s two months away —"
“And you have to ask Leah to go with you eventually! It’ll be so romantic. Think about how cute it would be to just brood in the corner together and complain about how much you hate it there!”
Bella broke into a fit of laughter. “Screw you, sis. I’m not that much of an outcast. And why should I ask Leah when Jasper hasn’t even asked you yet? It’ll at least be a month before it’s time to officially start asking.”
“I know-w-w, but I’m just so excited! I completely flaked on the winter formal and it’ll be my last dance in high school. It’s been a lifelong dream of mine to romantically dance with my lover at prom and you know that.”
“Indeed, I do.”
~~~
I pulled Jasper into my bedroom, and the moment the door closed behind me, I burst into laughter. Jasper was regarding me anxiously, still shaking in his boots from the redo-introduction with my father. After a month of officially being together ‘in secret,’ I convinced Jasper to come over and talk things out with my dad. Of course, things would’ve gone far worse if not for his ability, but even so, my dad gave him a stern talking-to.
“It was a hundred times worse for me than it was for you, so I’m not sure why you’re laughing,” he playfully huffed, sitting on the edge of the bed.
I sat beside him and wrapped my arms around his strong torso. I snuggled against him, beaming from ear to ear. “I’m laughing because I just love seeing you suffer, cowboy. I thought you’d know better by now.”
“I guess maybe I should, seeing as you put me through hell for half of the school year,” he remarked.
I laughed again, leaning up to give him a quick kiss. However, when I pulled away, he kept my head in place, passionately lacing our lips together. I moaned in satisfaction as he finally pulled away, my eyes fluttering open. A demure expression passed over his handsome face.
“What is it, Jas?”
He licked his lips, his fangs barely peeking out. His eyes flitted around the room anxiously. I hummed in anticipation.
“Would you do me the honor of accompanying me to prom?”
Giggles erupted in my throat and I threw my arms around his neck. His nose scrunched up as I gave him kisses all over his face, leaving no spot un-kissed. I finally pulled away, unable to repress my grin. “Of course, Jas. You’ve been torturing me with how long it took you to ask.”
He quirked a brow. “There’s still a month before, though.”
“Yeah, but you know how much of a romantic I am! You should’ve been planning to ask since the day we met,” I sighed dramatically.
“Believe me, I’ve already spent dozens of lifetimes waiting to find you. We have eternity to spend together. There’s no need to rush.”
I furrowed my brows. “Oh, right. I didn’t realize changing me has been on your mind. Has… Alice seen it?”
He slowly nodded, pressing his forehead against mine. “And I can tell you exactly what happens before, too,” he teased.
“Oh? And what would that be?”
“Well, allow me to set the scene,” he began passionately. “We're underneath a starlit gazebo. We’re in the wilderness, only us and the sky. We’d be swaying and dancing. It’s the most perfect scene. You tilt your neck to me and we share a final kiss. And just like that, I sink my teeth into you and do the honors, solidifying that we’d have forever and a day to be in love…” He trailed off thoughtfully, a starry, dreamy look in his eyes.
“A gazebo… Thank god for that,” I chuckled. “It must be a little far away since prom is being hosted at a casino and all that. It wouldn’t matter anyways, since you’d never change me without my permission.”
“Right you are, darling. Right you are.”
He suddenly tensed, pushing me away and rising to his feet. He faced the window, his fists clenched and he body hunched. Confused, I stood behind him, peering over his shoulder.
Low and behold, two hands grabbed the window edge, and hoisting himself up, was Jacob. He was a sweaty, hot mess as he pulled himself inside. And, surprisingly, as he glared at Jasper, he wasn’t nearly as hostile as I’d expected him to be.
“I thought I smelled dog,” Jasper hissed.
Jacob scowled deeply before flitting his gaze to me. “As much as I’d love to tear you apart, vampire, I’m not here for you. I’m here for her.”
Jasper grew even tenser, but I grabbed his shoulder. “It’s fine, Jas… I guess I can’t avoid him forever, can I?”
Jacob looked offended at my dismissiveness, but Jasper turned to me. He was still visibly on edge, and I sent him a reassuring smile. Instead of bidding me a good-bye, he swooped in and possessively pushing his lips against mine. I squeaked in surprise, but didn’t push him away. A moment later, he pulled away, and just like that, vanished.
Jacob was visibly pissed, but I couldn’t help but wonder if some of the anger was toward himself. He kept clenching and unclenching his fists, taking a step closer. “I know I messed up, Y/n. But that’s no reason to return to that blood sucker.”
I smiled pitifully, tilting my head. “Jake, it’s always been him. Just like it’s fate for us to be together, as Alice predicted, it’s fate that you’ll find your imprint, too. Eventually.”
“Exactly, as Alice predicted,” he argued defensively. “Then she should know better than anyone that fate can change. That you can choose me, the same as I’ve chosen you.”
I grew weary and my joy faded. I shook my head. He took a step closer, but I held my arms up. He pressed himself against my hands, but drew no closer. “Jacob, it’s just a phase. It never would’ve worked between us because I would’ve always longed for him and you would be missing your imprint. And, in time, you’ll realize it’s for the best.”
He lowered his head, hair covering his eyes. His entire body was shaking. “…Please.”
“Jake, you’re my friend.”
“Just - tell me, that with all of his irrepressible flaws, that you love him and that you don’t love me. Say it and… I’ll leave.”
I didn’t skip a beat as I lowered my hands. I noticed that tears dripped from his cheeks, but I felt nothing but pity for him.
“I love him, Jake. I love Jasper. And I don’t love you. I never have and never will. You’re nothing more than my friend.”
Silence. It was deafening. Torturous, even.
And then, he raised his head, meeting me with a fiery gaze.
“…Fine. But just know this. I will never stop fighting for you until your heart stops beating.”
And, with that said, he leapt back out my window, leaving me to digest his words.

I have had this idea for a while, however I was waiting until you opened your request newly!
So, Hotch is still dealing with his ex wife's death, when after a drunken night, has sex with Emily and gets pregnant.
Hi Anon! When I got this ask I immediately knew I wanted to do it but I've been working on it for a while. I do hope you like it though, since this was new for me.
Title: The greatest thing that I have achieved   Chapter one: I thought it’d feel different Summary: After Haley’s death, Aaron isn’t sure how to move on from the grief. Then one night, months later he finds himself falling into bed with Emily, his best friend and that changes everything. Word Count: 2,1k Rating: Explicit Warnings: Smut, consumption of alcohol, pregnancy, grief, fluff, angst, idiots in love
Haley, I don’t really know how to start this, started writing this letter almost ten times. I don’t know what to say except for that I’m so sorry. I’m sorry for your life ending because of choices I made, I’m sorry that Jack will grow up without you. I know I will never measure up to be the parent you were, but I promise you that I will try my hardest.
It’s been two weeks since we buried you and it’s been the hardest two weeks of my life. It was Emily who suggested that I’d write to you, to come here and read you this letter. She’s been a rock through all of this and I’m grateful. I know you always liked her, Jack likes her too.
I will spend forever missing you and I will try and make this up to Jack every day for the rest of my days. He’s so strong, our boy, so similar to you. He’s hurting but somehow he’s surviving, I know that’s something he inherited from you.
 I miss you - Aaron.
When Haley died, Aaron isn’t really sure how to deal with it all, the guilt, the loss, the hurt and sadness, how to deal with Jack and being a single parent while still working the odd hours that he had to. It was like a part of him died with her and for months he felt like he was floating in between asleep and awake. He forced himself to put his all into Jack, tried to focus just enough at work for no one to notice just how much he was struggling. It wasn’t that he was still in love with Haley, he had grieved the loss of her and their marriage before George Foyet. But the guilt of knowing that Haley was dead because of him and the choices he had made, that Jack would grow up without his mother, that Jessica had to go on without her sister, it was all-consuming.
The first few weeks seem unbearable, not that no one thought it would be any different. Most of the team stayed away but sent something every few days, weather if was a text to let him know that he had them to lean on, or actual gifts sent to him and Jack, mostly from Penelope. Dave would show up with food and words of wisdom he wasn’t really interested in, and then there was Emily, walking through his door without permission and sitting on the couch, sometimes with a bottle of wine, sometimes with something stronger. But always a support.
They didn’t always talk, but she refused to leave him alone. He thinks it’s her own guilt for not showing up at his apartment sooner when he was stabbed, for not being there in time to save Haley. He didn’t really mind, it was nice having her around, even when she pushed his buttons. Being around her made him feel something besides at a loss and he welcomed the change with open arms. Somewhere deep down he knew that he let her in because he had felt something more than friendship towards her, but then George Foyet came crashing into their lives and everything, including them, was put on hold.
Then it’s been a few months and the grief is still there, the pain and guilt still seeping through every pore, filling him until it was all he could feel. He didn’t know if it would ever go away completely, if it would ever make sense that he would go on living in a world where Haley didn’t exist. He wished for it, and yet he dreaded it.
Emily is still there, he could feel her eyes on him, and it was a source of comfort knowing that she was there. They had gotten even closer, how could they not after the year they’d had. She didn’t treat him like he was broken, didn’t look at him like he would fall apart even though she’d seen him do exactly that many times by now. He let himself relax with her like he didn’t do with anybody else.
Six months go by and he can almost pretend like most days doesn’t hurt, like the smile that feels fake by now is genuine. It’s another case solved when they get back to Quantico, spirits heightened because for once they managed to get a child back to her family in time, they saved a young girl without too much emotional trauma and no physical injury. It was as good as it was ever going to get and the joy was infectious, even making him laugh as Derek joked around with Spencer and Emily in the elevator going up.
“We should go out, what do you say?” Dave asks just as the doors open and Penelope greets then like she normally does. “Tonight is a night to celebrate.”
“Drinks, are we going for drinks?” Penelope looks excited as she looks at Derek’s wide grin while Emily and JJ both nod, the blondes happiness always putting smiles on their faces.
“Sure, why not.” Aaron agrees, knowing that nothing but the silence of his apartment was waiting for him at home since Jessica had Jack until the morning.
It’s happy murmurs going around the team, it’s the first time since Haley’s death that he had agreed to come out with them, it felt like a good sign for the whole team. He catches Emily’s smile, warm and familiar and he can’t help but to smile back.
Not even an hour later they’re out at a jazz bar, a place Dave frequented often enough for them to all get a booth with a good view of the stage with a live band but far enough for them to be able to talk over the music.
Conversations flow easily, laughs and jokes being told in a way that felt almost distant to him now. It was good, it was fun and Aaron almost feels the way he used to feel. It was a foreign feeling, but a good one.
He had no idea when the glasses turned into bottles, didn’t realize how many drinks he’d actually had until he found himself on the dance floor with JJ, the blonde spinning around while laughing.
“Who knew you had moves Hotch?” She teases and he can’t help but to laugh as she spins around again.
“Hey I danced at cotillion.” He defends himself as JJ comes back to grasp at his shoulder. He can tell that she’s about to say something but she turns at the sound of the familiar voice of her best friend.
“Mind if I cut in?” Emily is suddenly there, tapping JJ on the shoulder and her hand falls from his.
“I’m getting Spencer and we’re having a dance off.” The blonde continues to laughs, not caring that this was not the time or place for any dance off. Emily laughs along with her and nods, her grin wide as she takes JJ’s place.
“Spencer stepped on my toes four times, wish her luck.” She’s still laughing as they start swaying to the music, her hand is warm in his, her other hand holding onto his shoulder while his arm wrap around her waist. His hand spread over the small of her back as he tries to memorize the feel of her against him.
“Is that why you cut in, wanted to save your feet from further damage?” He tries not to notice how he’s holding her closer than he had JJ, how the familiar scent of her perfume clouded his senses.
“Well that, and I can’t miss out on a dance with Aaron Hotchner now can I? Who knows when I’ll have this opportunity again.” Her red lips part as she smiles wide, her hand squeezing his a little tighter and he can feel the corners of his mouth lift in response.
Even through his alcohol fogged brain he can see her glassy eyes, can feel the slight stumble as they move, he’s pretty sure she’s had as much as him to drink and it made him feel a little better about his own state of inebriation.
“Just seizing the moment is that it, Prentiss?” He spins her around and she follows him, only for him to pull her back to him. She stumbles again and falls against his chest and his hand tightens on the small of her back, keeping her even tighter against him.
“That’s right.” She tries to ignore the way her body reacts to his proximity, swallows hard when his large hand spreads over her lower back. She knew that before Foyet, before everything went to hell, that they had been toeing the line of something more, but after Haley all of that had naturally been pushed aside. It wasn’t their time, but when his breath fell against her cheek and she moved closer to him, all of that seemed to disappear.
“What are you thinking about?” He asked with a small smirk and dark eyes and she knew that he had caught her staring at his lips. She looks up at him and even though she knows it’s stupid, the lust and alcohol made all the reasons of why she shouldn’t seem inconsequential. She wanted him, even if it was just for one night.
“I was thinking about what your lips would feel like.” She says instead and for a second everything seems to stop as they stop swaying and he stares down at her.
He can’t deny that the attraction he had felt for her before everything happened was still there, couldn’t deny the way his body was already reacting to her. For just one night, he wanted to let himself forget. He didn’t want to think about tomorrow, didn’t want to do anything except what his body was screaming at him to give in to. He breathes a sigh, pulls her close enough to whisper in her ear.
“You want to find out?”
So that’s how he finds himself in his apartment with Emily naked and moaning as she chases his lips with her own. He was pinning her down, kept her underneath him as he fucked into her with heavy thrusts of his hips.
“Don’t stop.” She whimpered through hazy eyes and breathless pants. He has her arms pinned above her head and her arms twitch in his hold, feeling her own need to touch him.
He wouldn’t have dreamt of stopping, not when she was trembling the way she was, her body slowly giving in to him.
“Let go.” He groaned against her neck before licking over sweaty skin, her pulse beating wildly against his tongue.
Emily came with a broken moan, raw and loud and he didn’t think he’d ever heard anything more beautiful. He kisses her once she’s come down, lets go of her wrists and lets her turn them around until she’s straddling his hips.
She smiles at him as she starts to roll her hips against his, his eyes moving over her curves and pale skin before landing on her face.
“You’re so fucking beautiful.” He lets out before she kisses him. She moves above him until she’s coming again, his name a plea on her lips. He comes only moments after she does, her shaking body and breathless moaning enough to push him over the edge. When she collapses besides him she’s panting and laughing and he finds himself laughing as well. In between the blur of pleasure and alcohol and them, everything seemed a little easier.
He wakes up the next morning with one of the worst hangover’s he’s ever had in his entire life, the previous night coming back in bits and pieces. He turns to look at Emily, that part of the night more hazy than anything, but he could still taste her on his tongue, could still smell her on his sheets. But she isn’t there, the space beside him empty, only a note on the pillow left behind.
Hotch, I didn’t want to wake you but I know that Jessica is dropping off Jack today and I thought that it was best that I’d leave before he came. I’ll see you at the office on Monday.
Em
He’s not really sure what to feel, doesn’t know if he’s relieved or not about her leaving before they had a chance to talk. They had made a stupid decision based of alcohol and lust, and now they’d have to deal with the consequences.
“Fuck.”

BEAU SINCLAIR & NATHANIEL DONOVAN, our ROBBIE AMELL & SEBASTIAN STAN, are looking for BEAU'S YOUNGER SISTER & NATHANIEL'S BABY MAMA. THIS CONNECTION IS CLOSED.
Character Name
UTP Sinclair
Character Age
33-35 (if 35, she would be Beau's younger twin sister)
Character FC
UTP (Suggestions: Emilia Clarke, Paige Spara, Rebecca Rittenhouse, Emily Bett Rickards, Dakota Johnson, Willa Holland, Elizabeth Olsen, Jessica Lowndes, Elizabeth Lail, Riley Keough, and Evan Rachel Wood. Lily James and Caitlin Stasey could also work even though they have brown eyes.)
Gang Affiliation
Sons of Silence Hangaround
Relationship to Character
FOR BEAU: Younger sister to Beau Sinclair FOR NATE: Mother of Nate’s daughter, Rosie (9 years old).
Summary of Character
FOR BEAU: This character is the middle child and oldest of the two daughters to Eddie and Christina Sinclair. Eddie was a founding member of the Sons of Silence, but he was killed in prison about two years ago. Before then, the whole family had been super close and incredibly bought into the MC except for their youngest sibling, a sister who moved away from home when she was old enough to go to college because she wanted nothing to do with their lifestyle. Beau and this character are incredibly close as a result, and he’s helped her raise her daughter, Rosie, as much as he can by babysitting when she has to work etc. He was never told who Rosie’s father was, and he never intended to pry even though the protective big brother side of him wanted to kick the baby daddy’s ass. FOR NATE: Nate and this character would have had a secretive cutesy fling 9/10 years ago (mainly secretive because of her dad’s involvement with the MC). The fling would’ve resulted in them both developing feelings but they were not spoken out loud. From her POV, she’d have kept the way she felt to herself as Nate wasn’t known for commitments, so in the end she broke off whatever they had, pushing him away.
Desired Plot
FOR BEAU: I don’t have any specific plot in mind for them, but like I mentioned before, I want them to be super close. I’m also putting in a wanted connection for their youngest sister, so when the time comes, I’d like to get all of us on the same page for whatever drama comes from there! FOR NATE: After their fling, she would’ve eventually found out she was pregnant (and knew all along that Nate was the father) and told everyone that a man that wasn’t interested was the baby’s father, due to fears of Nate not wanting to be there for her/the baby. She continuously kept this information from him, never finding the right time to do so (even though they were/are around each other all the time because of the MC), also more so because of how many years had gone by. When Rosie was 8 and a few months after her dad died in prison (so about a year/year and a half ago in canon), she finally plucked up the courage to tell Nate that he was Rosie’s father because she didn’t want her daughter continuing to grow up without one. So him knowing would be fresh/new information of a few months?? The ideal relationship I see for them eventually is building trust again and being really good friends that extends into their co-parenting. Happy to obviously talk to go over more details etc 😂
If you are interested in taking up this connection, please send us a message and we'll connect you to the writer!

Spidersona Part 3
Background and some canon events
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Michelle
Spider-Woman
Spider-Beam
Part 1
Part 2
Michelle's biggest divergence is her family which includes her parents and siblings. This is one reason why she's paired with May Parker as her mentor, because May has parents and a sibling too. Except Michelle's family doesn't know about her being Spider-woman, even though she has a good relationship with them. They worry about her living so far, she sees it as protecting them.
Despite the secrecy, she's very emotionally well adjusted being Spider-woman and its demands on her life. Being able to share the workload with Jessica and Cindy and have reliable allies is the main contributor to her work life balance.
Tumblr media
Michelle has experienced a few canon events, other than being bitten. She has fewer canon events than most spiders because of Jessica and Cindy, her move from her family, and extreme separation of her spider and regular life.
The three Spider-women experienced various spider canon events, as if they split it among themselves.
Michelle has experienced a Captain Stacy event.
Being Spider-woman has also worked out well for Michelle because her husband KNOWS she's spider woman.
Tumblr media
Patrick has been a part of Michelle's life from a young age. After an eternity of will-they or won't-they, they finally became a couple and were eventually married. She told him her identity after he proposed, not wanting it to be an issue in their marriage. While surprised, he takes the news well. He supports her however he can, mostly by moving to New York for her.
They were only able to get together during a time when she experienced a major canon event: she lost her spider powers. After two years of being Spider woman, a significant fight with Electro resulted in power loss when she tried to fight alone. He caught her and tried to stop her heart with multiple electricity strikes.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
She barely manages to get away.
"It felt like I was being ripped apart," she whispers to Jessica while shaking.
Michelle looks at her trembling hands, "I-I can't make it stop."
Jessica takes Michelle's hands between her own, "imagine holding yourself together. We'll be here until you're able."
In the morning, her spider abilities are gone.
At first, she tried working with Doctor Strange and the spider women to regain her powers.
When nothing worked, she scheduled a long return visit to California to be close with her family. Feeling lost, she reached out to childhood friends in order to regain something normal in her life.
Michelle and Patrick started dating after a month, but she regained her powers soon after. She returned to New York and they started dating long distance, which helped keep her spider woman life a secret.
Patrick moves in after the wedding. It's a relief to have someone she can completely be herself with.
Once the spider society recruited her, she left the library and worked at HQ full time. She felt that her universe was protected and in capable hands.
Her explanation to family and friends is that she's working for an organization that requires complete discretion/secrecy. Most people think she works for a government agency.
Her main condition for joining the society was to keep Patrick updated if something happened to her and bring him with her if she moved on site. She refused to keep this a secret from him. Patrick still works a regular job to keep up appearances for their lifestyle.
Michelle knows she would have the most impact helping younger spiders. After probation, she specialized in helping/mentoring spiders with children who were already developing spider powers like Peter B's Mayday, and spiders younger than 13.
To be continued!

Twin Flame - 1. Awakening
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I don't hate Bella, but I love a fic with a good Bella Bashing. That you to storiestoreid for roleplaying this scenario with me.
June 4th, 2006 11:37 AM Mike was annoyed that Eric or Tyler didn't come to the beach. He was stuck with the girls. The girls would only get in the water to pee. They mostly sat in their chairs, tanning. The waves weren't large enough to surf on or even body surf. It would be a horrible beach day... if only he had come separately from Jessica and Angela.
"Ang! Come on!" Mike whined as she wasn't as stuck up as Jessica, Lauren, and Bella. She would come in now and then to rough house with him. "Jessica?"
"Don't even think about it, Newton, you dunked me under the water next time, and I had just pee-" Jessica saw a guy approaching. "eeled... I had just peeled an orange. Heya, what brings you to First Beach?" Jessica played with her hair.
"Jake? What are you doing here?"
"I live here, remember?" Jacob scoffed, "I saw your hunk of junk while the boys and I were winding down from a stressful night." Jacob said. Mike was infuriated when he saw him. Jacob Black was just the icing on the shit cake for this day. The last time he saw him was when Bella tricked them and took them to that scary movie. Mike had to call someone to pick him up after they ditched him.
"Have your friends come on over her. We are very friendly," Jessica was flirting with him, making Mike jealous even though he had no feelings for Jessica after they broke up. Mike had a few beers... or a dozen. He scooped up a wet sandball and lugged it to hit Jacob and the girl's feet... but he had miscalculated the throw, and the sandball hit Jacob right between the eyes.
Jacob was taken aback as the girls froze and held back their giggles. He lowly growled to glare at Mike. Mike would have a him-shaped print of smoke in his wake if this were a looney tunes cartoon. He was running away as fast as he could.
"Get back here, Newson!" Jacob growled, chasing after him as Mike was a couple of hundred feet away.
"It's Newton! And I would do it again!" Mike screamed, unknowingly running straight toward Jacob's crew, "I am the wind! You will never catch-" Mike said, gloating at how fast he was, but then big mitts grabbed his waist, tackling him to the sand. Jacob's lips were tugging up in malice as he flipped Mike over to threaten him, but some of Mike's sweet scent wafted up into his nose, momentarily freezing him. Bella thought he was about to kill Mike, so she ran after them.
Mike usually anger around the stuck-up Jacob was all eased as he was wasted. He wasn't an angry drunk or even a sad drunk. He was a giggly drunk. He couldn't stop the giggle fit approaching as he saw the leftover wet sand on Jacob's face. He was laughing so hard he had to hold his gut. On the other hand, he helped Jacob wipe off the sand from his face.
Jacob only looked down at Mike as he was giggling and wiping the sand off of him innocently, forgetting why he was angry in the first place. Bella grabbed Jake by the scruff of the neck to pull him off. This was a known trigger for the wolf. Quil and Embry rushed up, grabbed her away from him, and pulled Jake off of Mike.
"You guys are no fun," Mike whined as Jacob showed his pack that he was calm and collected. He was still looking down at Mike with googoo eyes. Bella felt a little jealous as that's how Jake would normally look at her. Jake reached out his hand for Mike to take and helped him up. That was when Mike's beach day began to turn around. He found people he could hang out with while the girls were being duds.
------- 11:37 AM Beau didn't want to go to the beach with Bella and her friends. Angela and Mike were pretty cool, but he didn't like Jessica and Lauren. Beau had learned not to have the same friends as Bella because they always lean towards her.
He was lonely for the nine months he and his sister had been separated, but he hated Florida and wanted to move to Forks. Bella was being difficult as always because she felt like Forks were hers. It had driven a little wedge between Beau and her. It's not like he could move back in with Renee. He burned that bridge... but that was a story for another day.
He was slightly preoccupied with the mysteries he had walked into when he moved here. Why was Bella the shell of who she used to be, why were Jacob and his friends so aggressive, and why was Edward such a mystery with his family?
The other night, he had caught onto something when he attended a bonfire with Charlie and Bella. They kept talking about the 'cold ones,' and Bella looked like she was having a mild seizure as they told it. Most of the elders were staring at Bella while telling the story. He wouldn't have given it a second thought, they were vampires, and Beau didn't believe they existed. He was, however, intrigued by his sister's reaction. When they got home, he asked what was happening, but she did a shit job of lying.
Connecting the symptoms of a Cold One and the Cullens didn't take long. He found it out quicker than Bella. He just needed to research it. Bella never let him use her laptop, and Charlie didn't have enough money to buy him one. It was a present for when Bella first moved it.
He felt like he had figured it out. It's like the Cullens had sucked all the life out of her. She only cared about Edward, who seemed to have the same sentiment. He was determined to get down to the bottom of it and get his sister back.
Bella had taken the truck to the beach, and his father was fishing with a friend taking his car. Beau wished he could drive the Patrol Car, but that would be a felony. He got an old bike from the garage. It was his mother's when their parents were still married. He had to air up the tires and then off to the library.
Beau couldn't shake the feeling he was being watched... because he was. He managed to get the Cullens on their toes with all his sleuthing around. He was Bella's sibling, so that he could keep the secret, but they were never too safe regarding humans. They figured if anything bad were going to happen, Alice would catch it in time for them to act, but that hadn't happened. Carlisle and Esme weren't as worried as the others, but Edward was very anxious.
He had gone undetected while Beau had researched on the public computers until the librarian called him out, "Cullen, you have an overdue book... did you bring it?" she asked, and Edward would have turned red if he had more blood running through his system. Beau turned around to see that Edward was on the other side of the room.
"Uh... yeah... I mean, know... I mean, I will bring it tomorrow," Edward said, and the lady glared at him. She looked like a drug lord about to break his knees if he didn't hurry up and bring back the book.
Edward had no other choice than to acknowledge Beau. It would have been more obvious if he had left after the two had made direct eye contact. "Hey, Beau... What's up?" Edward said, walking up to him, his heart beating faster than it had in years. He didn't know how that was possible. The last time he had eaten was two days ago. He thought maybe it could be Beau's scent. It was much like Bella's... if not more enticing if he was honest with himself.
Beau was so confident in his accusations he didn't even try to hide what he was researching. There were very few people in the library, so he didn't have to worry about sounding crazy since they weren't anywhere near them. "Researching," Beau slid back in his chair to give Edward more of a view.
"Cold ones? What is that?" He tried playing coy, but he saw that he wasn't convincing Beau. He was so sure of himself and blatant. It must run in the family, Edward thought. He couldn't read his mind. Unlike Bella and Charlie, the boy made his thoughts and emotions known. Edward didn't have to think twice to know what he was thinking.
"Vampires,"
"Oh... huh, I have never thought about them."
"Is that so?" Beau asked. If Edward could, he would be sweating out of his clothes.
"Yeah... er, I have never been much for the supernatural, I guess the tv shows can be entertaining, but they don't exist," He said, and Beau rolled his eyes. He closed the browser and snatched up his bag. He grabbed Edward by the wrist and stamped up to the third floor, which was always desolate. Edward was slightly stunned as soon as their skin touched. The image of him pinning Beau's wrists above his head while drilling into him. Edward shook his head, trying to get it out of his mind... he was a virgin. He had never thought of something like that on his own. Was skin-on-skin touching helping him read Beau's mind?
"Listen, Cullen," Beau snapped. "I know what you are... You feel like an ice sculpture, your eyes are black, and you are annoyingly broody,"
"What?" Edward tried his best to laugh convincingly.
"Okay... let's try it this way..." His lip watch twitched as he was really angry and stressed out. "In some horrible universe where I am wrong, vampires do exist... Hypothetically why would vampires be in such a small town like Forks, Washington, and what would they want to be doing with my sister,"
Beau looked crazy... but he was pulling something out of Edward. The vampire was attracted to the scent of the boy like a moth to a flame. Beau always had an affinity for getting people to open up to him or getting them to do exactly what he wanted. It was a power that Beau had no idea he could abuse.
"Let's say in a world, in a fictional world where there are vampires and goblins exist... I think there would be some vampires that are evil and just as bad as the books and movies say, but there would also be vampires that don't want to hurt anyone. They would want to exist in peace and be allowed to be themselves and not hurt or drink anyone's blood. They would want someone to love that would show them just as much love back, and they wouldn't want o be threatened and exposed. If they came to Fork's, it wouldn't be to hurt anyone. Don't you think they would go somewhere like LA or New York if they wanted to hurt and drink from people?" Edward rambled longer than he ever had before. He tried to keep a jovial tone, but it soon became an inner monologue. He was passionate when he talked. He noticed the smirk turning into a frown on Beau's face. "Beau?"
"I'm sorry to bother you..." Beau was kicking himself in the ass. He had never thought of a Vampire being, as Edward had just explained. He knew when people were lying and when they were telling the truth. He could tell Edward was passionate about what he had laughed off earlier. "I don't want to expose you or anything like that. That's the last thing I want to do to someone else," he said. Another reason he left Florida was that he had lost his virginity to this guy he knew, and then he was blackmailed into paying them off, or they would out him. If he could relate to Edward in any way, it would be not wanting to be exposed and wanting to live in peace, loving who he lived with no dismay to anyone else. "I just want my sister back... she is so different now,"
Edward felt sorry for Beau even though he didn't want how what he had said to trigger him. He also could understand wanting his sister back, "Beau... just some people change," he explained, placing his hand on Beau's arm. He focused on trying to read his mind but was getting nothing. He had no idea what happened just a few months ago. "Please don't tell anyone, okay?"
"I'm not a narc," He shrugged and then noticed Edward's skin.
They were underneath the skylight feature of the library or were stained glass, but it allowed Beau to see Edward's true skin. He cupped Edward's face inspecting it closer. Edward understood what he was seeing and shyly looked up at the ceiling. He didn't want Beau to let go of him... it was so soft and inviting. "You're so beautiful," Beau said, and Edward bit his lip. Edward was looking at how beautiful Beau was, how much life was in his skin... how innocently he was touching him. His scent was fueling Edward's mind with perversions. He placed his hand on top of Beaus and gazed into his eyes.
As the boy looked up into Edward's eyes, he was joined in his trance. He licked his lips as Edward leaned down. Luckily, a hand pulled them apart, bringing them out of their trance. "I... er," Beau gulped before rushing away. Edward was left to explain himself to Alice.
"I'm sorry... he just brought it out of me," Edward explained as she glared him down. She wasn't angry about that.
"You were going to fuck him if I didn't come sooner," Alice said, and Edward gulped. Please Vote, Comment, Add to your lists, and share this story with a friend:). Updates sporadic

𝑅𝓊𝒷𝓎 𝑀𝒸𝑅𝑒𝒾𝒹
Tumblr media
Pronouns: She/Her Born: 30th October 1995 (21) Species: Bloodline Hunter / Vampire Turned: November 2016 (physically 21) by Jessica Harvelle Alliance: Good - Resistance Location: Recently returned to under the dome - above and below ground
So What Happened?
Before prom, on ‘human day’, Ruby saved the life of Verity Vandeviere from some jackass bounty hunter that was messing around in her town. It was a one time thing, only because Verity was human at the time. Ruby kicked ass, but it raised more than a few questions from vampire boyfriend Corey Andrews. She decided to confess that she was a bloodline hunter. It didn’t change anything, he loved her all the same.
Prom Night happens in Havensdale and Ruby McReid has a magical night. Perhaps the first and last truly normal night of her life. She was crowned Prom Queen, danced the night away with her vampire boyfriend, had fun at the after party and, for the first time in her life, felt like the world wasn’t on her shoulders.
It doesn’t last long. Of course it doesn’t. The next morning, the news breaks about Effy and Leo. Ruby suspects foul play immediately, it relights her righteous fury that things like this keep happening in her town. The deaths were covered up for the sake of Havensdale’s humans, but she knew the truth-- Juliette Palmer killed them both. Ruby graduates and knows that she’s fully committed to being a hunter.
There isn’t long to form a plan to keep her people safe when Founder’s Day comes along. They thought they were prepared for this, but they were wrong. Ruby goes underground with the rest of the McReids- her mother, Krystal McReid, included- and forms the underground Resistance. She dedicates her life to the cause and, in the end, it takes too much.
They had a plan. November 2016-- they were finally going to put an end to this, only for it all to go devastatingly wrong. Carrie is kidnapped and Ruby is powerless in the moment when Edward forces Alex Andrews to feed on her before delivering the killing blow. She laid dying when Alex turned her into a vampire and Ruby screamed as she realised she could never leave her baby sister alone in this world for eternity.
Corey refused to do it- he couldn’t, the bloodlust- so she turned to Jess Harvelle. Her best friend, her beloved best friend who broke her heart. Her best friend who had just turned her humanity back on after all those years. Her best friend who could barely control her bloodlust, but she would just have to because Ruby was going to be turned into a vampire, one way or another.
In the aftermath, Ruby was left empty. She was left feeling like a part of her died- it had, hadn’t it?- and then there was, well, the bloodlust. Being a vampire. The one thing she had hated, had feared, her entire life. Ruby needed to get out, she needed to be alone and learn how to be this new thing before she could be around her loved ones again. She manages to leave The Dome and lo and behold, Verity Vandeviere follows her out.
You see, once upon a time, Verity had been turned into a vampire against her will and her sister, Vivian, had manipulated him into turning her as well. Because she could never leave her sister alone in this world, for eternity. These parallels were hard to ignore, but Ruby ignored them anyway. As far as Ruby was concerned, they had a business arrangement. Verity would teach her how to be a vampire and Ruby would help her find Vivian, who had previously been captured by The Institute.
They move in together, the montage of research begins and after 6 months, they track down the last standing Institute with Vivian locked inside. They make it out to the Nevada desert, break into the Institute, and come face to face with the last living person there. Ruby tells them to leave or die- ‘ ‘Please don’t make me... let her (Verity) kill you’. They run. The only way to release Vivian is to release everyone, override the system completely. She didn’t know exactly what they had done when they did it, but she knew it wasn’t good.
With Vivian released, they return to the apartment to find Jordan Rickman waiting. Jordan tells Ruby to get in the damn car and put on her seat belt because they are going home. She agrees, telling Verity their arrangement is done- ‘The next time I see you, I’ll kill you’.
Ruby and Jordan have only just managed to sneak back into the Dome.
Wanted Connections
People that she’s saved/helped since the dome first came down and before she became a vampire. Also people she’s had scraps with. New friends and enemies.
People she’s run into outside the dome while struggling to be a vampire. Anyone she may have almost took a bite out of in a moment of weakness, both before leaving the dome and after.
Resistance allies. Perhaps someone that feels hinky about her now being a vampire who’s in love with a vampire?

Marvel x Encanto Part 1
Some ideas that were came to mind when writing the first post.
Post Encanto
Mirabel left the family when she was fifteen, after the magic fell apart.
She ran away from Encanto until she found herself in a large city filled with cars, bright lights and people who wouldn’t look twice at her.
It was that night she met her husband, who I will name Dominic, who found Mirabel alone in the night and brought her back home to his family.
She didn’t say much about family but says that she ran away after having a falling out with her abuela.
Dominic and his family don’t go any further into her business and allow her to stay at their home.
Dominic and Mirabel grew close while she was there, to the point where they did most things together.
Mirabel helped out the family by working as a seamstress and mending the ripped clothes or stuffed toys of the family.
Dominic was developed a crush on Mirabel when she gave him an poncho that she made herself.
Mira on the other hand realised she was in loved with him after he went out of his way to include her in many activities that he was in, even if she had no business of being there.
Dominic’s family was supportive of the relationship, often pushing him to make the first move.
Years passed and Mirabel and Dominic fell deeper in love. They got married where Dominic’s entire family and several close friends of the pair witnessed the event.
The relationship is very sweet with Mirabel making Dominic laugh while he would get Mira serenade her at any chance he would get.
It was disgustingly sweet and it was usually witnessed by their daughters, Bruno and eventually, their grandkids.
Family Life
The pair had their two daughters, Gloria and Jessica, when they were in their mid-twenties.
Mira was very similar to her mother when raising Jessica and Gloria but made a point to treat her daughters equally and stand up for them when she needed to. She only became strict whenever it concerned petty fights.
During this time Bruno finally found her and was brought to tears when he found her holding Gloria while Dominic held Jessica.
The girls were toddlers at this point and Mira & Dominic were only in their late twenties.
Mirabel and her husband lived in the city close to Encanto but didn’t hear anything from them since she left.
Jessica and Gloria grew up knowing very little about their mother’s family with the only person that they met from that side of the family was her Tío Bruno, who they thought was their abuelo for the majority of their childhood.
The two eventually grew up and moved to America to go to college for more opportunities.
They didn’t have a lot of time to visit an d would only return for the holidays, such as Christmas or the summer.
After graduating, the pair built up their new lives in America with the
Jessica and Gloria travelled back to Colombia to allow their parents to meet Humberto, Julian and Eva.
Jessica debated on naming Humberto after tío Bruno but didn’t as he was still alive at the time and because of Bruno’s feelings on that matter.
Bruno didn’t want his grandnephew to be named after him as while he has changed a lot since he left the casita, he still has low self esteem and considers himself as Bad luck  Bruno and didn’t want anything bad to happen to Humberto just by having his name.
They did, however, let Bruno to become his middle name.
Jessica and Gloria had their children only a few months apart. Humberto is the eldest of the trio and Julian being the youngest.
They travelled over to Colombia a month after the twins’ were born so Mira, Dominic and Bruno could meet them.
The three of them adored the new additions to their family.
Bruno died not long after meeting the kids.

Chicago Justice Season 1 Ep. 6 "Dead Meat"
Tumblr media
Dawson and Nagel investigate the murder of a Chicago police officer. Initially ruled a suicide due to the officer's cancer, the medical examiner discovered a broken neck. Stone and Valdez identify the prime suspect who was previously exonerated for deadly arson.
If you want to watch the series for yourself, stop reading! This post contains spoilers to the storyline.
The episode starts with a man in bed with his girlfriend. As they kiss, she asks him what she said. He says it's complicated and after being together for six years, she isn't going to give him the "thumbs up" to move on. She gets up, and when he asks where she's going, she says it's complicated. She's standing in the bathroom when the ceiling collapses.
Antonio Dawson and his partner Laura Nagel arrive at the motel and discover a dead man in the bathtub.
Tumblr media
Although the officer initially believes to be an obvious suicide, Dawson and Nagel point out that there is no knife and the water is still warm, indicating that the perpetrator intended for the body to decompose. The curious police officer learns that the deceased man is actually CPD officer Ted Cody.
ME Joy Fletcher informs them that the cause of death was a broken neck. The killer subdued the victim by placing a knee in the middle of his back and pulling his neck back. The victim was also subjected to a forceful grab and pull, causing severe injury. The victim was already deceased before the killer slit his wrists with a bread knife and disposed of his body in a bathtub. Antonio expresses gratitude to the ME for the information, but they later discover that the victim had pancreatic cancer and only had six weeks to live. It was revealed that the victim had mixed his chemotherapy with alcohol, which is strongly discouraged.
Antonio and Laura visit his ex-wife, Jessica Cody, who was unaware of his passing. Ted "TJ" Cody Jr. asked his mom if she was okay, but she said she would tell him once she went back inside.
Tumblr media
While searching Cody's home, Laura discovers bags of cash in the freezer. Later, they confront Cody's former partner, accusing him of being aware of the money Cody had hidden away. He claims ignorance and departs. They provide Anna Valdez with all the information they have gathered on the case so far.
Tumblr media
Laura receives a call disclosing that Cody conversed with his former partner three times on the day of his death. The officer informs them that they were discussing meat, and that he would collect Cody's meat order from a butcher once a month. The orders were worth a couple of thousand dollars. He claims it was entirely legitimate, and he believed Cody was friends with the owner. Laura doesn't believe it. Antonio claims he got the meat from Beckett's Meats.
Antonio visits Anna and Peter Stone. They tell him the story of John Beckett, who burned down his farm due to being heavily in debt, resulting in the death of one of the farmers. Antonio arrested him, but Beckett was acquitted by the jury after claiming it was an electrical fire. Stone sends Antonio to speak with Beckett.
Laura and Antonio visit the farm where Beckett is defensive, accusing Antonio of accusing him of murder again. Beckett denies knowing Officer Cody and allows them to search the area. Laura suggests going to the nearest bar since Cody's motel room lacked a minibar.
At the bar, bartender Jude Roche confirms seeing Cody and Beckett together a few nights prior. Beckett discloses that Cody was contemplating suicide, but he believed they were meeting at the bar to vent. Stone enters the interrogation room and asks Beckett what Cody was being paid for.
Tumblr media
He then visits Gail, the widow of the farmer who died in the fire on Beckett's farm years ago. Stone informs her that they are investigating Beckett and she is willing to commit perjury to help put him in prison.
During dinner, Anna and Stone discuss the original trial and what went wrong with the verdict. He tells a story about his father and a case he had in the past. He says that one day he will encounter a case where someone has lost the most important person in their life. He believes that if he cannot do something to ease their pain, he is not doing any good. Gail Marcus is that case for Stone. Laura interrupts to inform them that an officer found a knife while dumpster diving. The knife had a four-point match to John Beckett. Stone orders her to arrest him. Antonio and Laura arrest John in a crowded butcher shop.
Tumblr media
At the courthouse, Stone and Mark Jefferies exit the elevator to learn that Defense Attorney Mary Willis has filed a motion to suppress the knife that CPD found. Officer Jonesy found the knife in the dumpster at 2 am, 45 minutes after the city had emptied it. When Stone objected, Jonesy admitted to tampering with evidence. Stone asked where the knife was during questioning, and Jonesy revealed it was in his trunk while he spent the night at his ex-wife's place. The defense motion was granted, and the knife is inadmissible at trial.
Stone meets Beckett at a restaurant. This is the thorn that has been in his side since Beckett killed Thomas, the farmer. He tells Beckett that he can't let it go. Beckett tells him to look at this as a win for the little guys.
Stone and Jefferies walk down the street. Stone believes that this is Beckett's second murder, but he cannot prove either one. There is no evidence that Beckett murdered Cody, only that they met for drinks that night. Jefferies asks why Beckett killed Cody. Beckett beat him on the arson case because he was able to tell a better story. Juries love a good story, so tell them one.
Tumblr media
Anna discovers that the room was booked under an email that did not belong to Cody, but everything else was. The email referred to the book "The Jungle", which tells the story of a man who worked in a meat packing plant. Stone smirks, suggesting that Beckett probably didn't finish the book because Jurgis Rudkus goes to prison at the end.
Beckett sends Stone a package of meat with a card expressing no hard feelings. This gives Stone an idea. Anna confirms that Beckett started receiving money in 2012, right around the time of the arson trial. Stone realizes that Cody was blackmailing Beckett and they need to present this information to a grand jury.
Beckett presented all of his financial records, revealing that he had sold his boat to a woman for only $50,000, despite its actual value being half a million dollars. Stone requested to see the boat and recognized the buyer as one of the jurors from his arson trial. She confirmed this, but explained that she was going through difficult financial times.
Cody delivered the money and convinced the jury to sway. Stone fights against the double jeopardy law and presents proof that Beckett paid off the juror. As a result, he argues that Beckett was never in jeopardy and should be tried for arson. The felony murder of Paul Marcus will proceed.
The fire investigator stated that the fire burned for over 30 minutes before Beckett called it in. Paul Marcus died in the barn where he was sleeping. Antonio recounts his involvement in the 2012 investigation. Then, Gail Marcus takes the stand and shares her emotional story of the night her husband, Paul, died. She asks Beckett if it was worth ruining three lives.
Tumblr media
Beckett complains about the difficulties he faced in getting his business going while on the stand, hoping to win over the jury. He reveals that he ended up owing over $2 million for the farm and that his insurance money was used to pay back the government. He swears that he did not burn down his own farm.
Stone mentions the yacht he purchased with the insurance money and confronts him about bribing a juror. He claims to have burned himself while attempting to rescue the pigs and was unaware of Paul's presence in the barn. Beckett explains the process of handling pigs by grabbing their back legs, applying pressure on their back with the knee, and pulling their heads back. Stone does not respond further.
Beckett, his attorney, Stone, Anna, and Gail are in a private meeting. Beckett expresses his desire to take his chances in court. Stone agrees, as he has more charges waiting. He repeats what Beckett said in court today and shows them the photos, stating that he wrangled Cody just like he wrangled his pigs. Stone offers a plea deal of 35 years, which is a bargain considering the minimum sentence for two murders is natural life. Stone wants to hear the confession of Ted Cody's and Paul Marcus's murder. The killer admits to both. Gail expresses her disapproval.
At Molly's, Anna mentions her vegetarianism and briefly sympathizes with Beckett. This is why he does what he does. Antonio delivers Markus' jersey to Stone, who exclaims, "We got him!"

@storiesfabled asked: “how am i still alive when they’re all dead?” from the jade city meme
Tumblr media
his question broke her heart. the last thing she expected when she came to austin was to see a familiar face that had no reason to know that she had died. vacation friends from when her family had camped out at big bend state park back when they were both teenagers and continued contact after that the couple of other times she had passed through texas. getting to know him again had been a much needed reprieve from the state of loneliness she had put herself in, afraid to trust others or let them so they wouldn't get hurt for being associated with her. the stop in austin was only supposed to be temporary, but she had taken on a few monster cases since getting here without leaving city limits. if she were honest with herself, the real reason was that it was getting harder and harder to think about pulling herself away from the real human connection she had deprived herself from. her soul craved it.
judd didn't open up initially with what had happened to him... and she wouldn't have ever expected him to. look at all the secrets she kept from him, even now, weeks later. but she had read about the tragedy that had happened around five months before she showed up in town. she reaches over, her hand resting on his forearm with a few comforting rubs, since she can't really hug him well from the adjacent barstool. ❝ what you've gone through is unimaginable to most people, judd. ❞ she didn't know what it was like to be on the surviving side of a tragedy, but she knew her wishes for sam, even as she watched him be pulled out of the apartment below her burning body. how could she voice that without leading to more questions from her friend or more lies tossed his way to cover up the truth? jessica takes a pause with a mindless stir of her drink as she mulls it over, her eyes lingering on the nearly melted away ice before turning her body to fully face him.
❝ but they would want you to live your life for them... instead of completely lose yourself in the grief of their loss. and that isn't just some bullshit that people tell you to pack it away and move on... it's true. they know you loved them... that you won't forget them or replace them. you can keep them remembered and a piece of them will live on with you. ❞ alright, maybe she is sounding a bit like a self-help book and should pull back a bit before he shuts down on her. side effect of having the bright idea to dual major in psychology back in college. maybe she didn't believe in there being a higher plan for anyone like she had before she'd died, but she knew judd and his wife were religious. taking that level of comfort that god was benevolent and suffering had some sort of misunderstood meaning from anyone was something she could never do. ❝ i can't say that there's a reason besides chance that you're here and they aren't. but because you're here, you live on for them. you live on for grace. but most importantly, you live on for yourself. ❞
❝ are you planning on going back to the fire department? you shouldn't feel like you have to. finding a new passion wouldn't be a sign of weakness. ❞

Kansas City MO
By Andrew Doyle May 22nd 2023 After another great trip, this time to Kansas City, Missouri, I wanted to share a little about our drive there and back, the wonderful staff at the Mexican Consulate, our stay at the Holiday Inn and lunch with artist Mauricio. Once we had figured out that Kansas City would only be an 8-hour drive from Chicago we decided to drive instead of fly. Was also going to save us a lot of money and the stress of flying, with instruments. We'll be driving to Philadelphia next month and I look forward to another trip without flying.
The road trip to KC was nice. The weather was beautiful and there was little to no traffic or construction along the way. Juny and I shared driving duties while Jessica was busy at work in the back seat.
We made it to KC in good time and when we walked into the Holiday Inn we were staying at, we saw there was a restaurant and bar right there not far from the front desk. When I had researched places to eat nearby a place called Toast came up and was rated 4.9 stars. Sounded fancy at the time and I hadn't looked up to see how far away it was, yet, there it was... inside the hotel! We loved the idea of not having to drive anywhere else after being in the car all day.
Once we brought our things to our room we went back to the restaurant and bar and ordered a drink and some food. The staff was awesome; they seemed to care about their food and making their guests feel comfortable, which was a treat in itself. I normally don't order steak but the waiter talked me into trying it and I was so glad I did. When we went back to our room it didn't take long for us to fall asleep. The beds and pillows there were so comfortable; I think we needed a good night's sleep and we woke up feeling well rested.
The next morning I got up and ran on the treadmill and worked out in the hotel's fitness center. Felt good to get my body moving after sitting for so long the day before. Toast also served breakfast so with having to be at the Mexican Consulate by 11:30am I figured it would be best to eat something there before we left. Another great meal later and we were off to the Consulate not far away. It was another beautiful day and I loved feeling the hot sun after being in cold, cloudy weather back home.
When we arrived at the Consulate, we had to walk past a waiting room where every seat was taken. I felt a heaviness and sadness in my heart. I imagined many of the people were there trying to get paperwork or even citizenship for themselves or a loved one that couldn't be there and knew it had to be hard on them. I felt a greater sense and appreciation for the people we were performing for and for what they do every day to help others in need. Feeling their warm, and welcoming hospitality has become something I've started to look forward to on these trips. There's so much to love about Mexican culture, food, and music, but the people may be their greatest gifts.
It was great to see the Exhibit up again, in a new beautiful setting. The art pieces are starting to feel like friends I get to see every few weeks. Got to meet one of the featured artists Mauricio Zuniga and hear a little about his paintings and where some of his ideas come from. Being an artist and Art History major myself I really enjoyed our conversation and learning more about how he works. Was great also meeting Soileh Padilla Mayer the rest of her awesome staff.
The performance was so much fun. There was a little boy that got up close to where we were playing and danced for most of the show. He was adorable and made it even more special. Felt great to see people dancing and tuned in. What an honor!
After the event ended, Mauricio treated the three of us to an awesome lunch at Gate's Bar.B.Q. nearby. Just the smell alone was enough... I ordered the ribs and was in pure heaven. I think we all were. Was really nice getting to know more about Maurico's incredible journey and many of his life's adventures. I can't wait to get to treat him to a great meal when we see him next Tuesday at the Consulate show in Chicago.
After lunch, we drove home. It was almost identical to the way there, as the weather was beautiful and the roads were fairly empty most of the way. We were feeling really good about our show and the friends we had made in KC. Can't for our next show and our next road trip.

Okay with all the women in Auston life with the ones he’s seeing and what not which women is he still hooking up with, who do you think will last the longest? Who are any of the new ones?
So in the last part Auston went on a date with Aubrey. She is Jessica's (Fred's gf) friend, but there won't be a second date between them.
Claire was briefly mentioned in this part again. She is Beck's (Tia's best friend since moving to Toronto) childhood bestfriend. Becks and Claire live in the same building as Tia. Claire happens to be Auston's ex and they met at the end of summer 2018. They dated until the end of Jan 2019, but when Auston found out about Taylour and was processing the news of being a dad, weeks went by where he wouldn't answer her calls/ texts. After their breakup, Claire went to the media and told them about Auston having a baby and this article came out as a result.
Corrie is a hookup from Scottsdale. They met during summer 2019 and saw each other a handful of times. He only see's her when in Scottsdale, when Taylour is either in Toronto or having a sleepover with his parents/ sisters (which doesn't happen a lot because Auston likes to spend all possible time with him). He hasn't seen her since the start of the season, but in the next part the Leafs play in AZ and he will see her.
Michelle is a hookup from Toronto. They also met in the summer but he only saw her once between Labour day and moving out of Tia's (when he and Tia got in a fight they hooked up). Since leaving Tia's he has seen her a couple times, but again he only see's her around time with Taylour and his hockey schedule.
Both Michelle/ Corrie are currently fwb situations. Corrie isn't looking for anything and was very upfront about that before they even met, and Auston of course was fine with that. Michelle and her bf broke up a few months before she met Auston and she is very much enjoying being single. As it stands that is all his relationship with either woman will be, but anything can happen, feelings can develop etc. I can't say who will last the longest because I don't want to give anything away, but this where everything currently stands for him.
Hope this helps!
