asoiaf predictions that will probably make people mad

sansa politically marries that guy whatshisface. kills littlefinger in self defense either via moon door or very fancy knife, possibly also poison. declares her husband regent of the vale in littlefinger's absence, and quickly allies herself with daenerys as dany pushes west. they fall in love, the embodiment of ice and fire.

brienne doesn't kill jaime bc honestly where would that leave the rest of us. anyway. they probs talk their way out of fighting lady stoneheart and either jaime dies fighting the others, leaving brienne to hedge knight her way around in his honor, or they disappear into the riverlands, never to be heard from again.

if any of the key five die (again), it's gonna be dany, but not in a mad queen way, but in self-sacrifice against the others after her conquest of westeros, which started with dragonstone. thematically implies that the reason daenys had that vision in the first place was so that the targaryens would continue on and produce dany in order to save the world. somehow the destruction of the iron throne will factor in, having served its distorted purpose in keeping the targaryen line alive long enough to create daenerys. this either kills drogon or sends him off toward the sunset sea.

dragonrider bran. either he or jon will rule westeros, don't know which.

speaking of jon, he's going to Come Back Wrong somehow. I think it'll be a targaryen-related way, but he's gonna eventually come around with his stark heritage. if he doesn't end up king of the seven kingdoms, he'll be king beyond the wall.

i don't know what's going to happen to arya. i think she'll surprise me, but i'm certain she's not gonna be lady of winterfell. i think that contradicts too much of her personal convictions about her purpose in life.

contrary to popular belief, i think there's only a 50/50 chance tyrion's gonna be a dragonrider. he's going to come over with dany but he will either choose to return to essos, searching for tysha or possibly accepting the reality of her death, or he'll stay on in westeros as jon's hand of the king. either way, penny will be a significant deciding factor.

stannis kills davos. not as a murder plot, but it's gonna be like. a whole thing.

missandei is protected and cared for and she writes a history of dany's brief reign as an adult(manifesting) and rickon is undeniably Odd now but he's going to be okay and somehow ends up the most normal brother. absolute tourney knight of a fellow (manifesting).

and last but not least, cersei is not killed by either of her brothers, although i think there's a slim chance she kills jaime, which triggers her death. she will be killed by one of her own plots, probably one related to wildfire, but being cersei, she will internalize it as a death by tyrion's hand.

sometimes when it comes to groups/bands I hope that the friendship survives and lives on, over the band itself. that they are given the capacity to take the breaks when they need to and stop when they need to, in order to give themselves and their relationships longevity. because i think that a large part of what makes being in a group or a band special is experiencing it all with the rest of your members and while every individual will have a unique view, it’s experiences shared for all the good and bad, and I sincerely hope they all get to hold on to that connection. which maybe is too optimistic or too idealistic, but art created and let out into the world will survive for better or worse. it’s the people and friendships that will take the most work, face the most obstacles, but yet capable of existence long after the music stops. so while I wish groups and bands long careers and happiness in their art, I hope they get to hold on to each other if they choose to, too. I think it’s something so special to find people not just to share art with, but to create with, too.

They didn't talk about it at all publicly, so no one knows what went on. Maybe they tried to have a baby and couldn't and that caused hardships. Or maybe parents being sick made them go off the rails. Who the hell knows. It could be anything. And all of it could be things that would be shitty for you to judge

You sure about this one? Taking a magnifying glass to the public social components of someone’s life and relationships isn’t even on the same map as speculating a medical or developmental diagnosis.

Summary: One of your darkest secrets is accidentally revealed during an alcohol induced game of Never Have I Ever.

The air is thick with the stench of beer and weed as the salty wind blows around you. It's dark out; a sky full of twinkling stars and a shining moon casting an almost eerie reflection off the ocean a few feet away. 

It's been a good night, the sound of waves and laughter working wonders to ease your worries. It's a much-needed kegger at the boneyard; finally some peace after nothing but sheer pandemonium. 

There are Pogues, kooks, and tourons littered around the sand; not a single sober human in sight. Even Pope has succumbed to the environment, perhaps a little past tipsy. 

A wide smile overtakes your warm face, the alcohol causing your blood to run hotter than usual and you have a pleasant floating feeling washing over you as John B speaks up. 

"Who wants to play Never Have I Ever?"

It's mostly directed at your small friend group, but his voice is louder than he intended due to his inebriated state and a few kooks and tourons decide to join in. 

It's a decent-sized circle, the seven of you plus a few randoms you don't recognize. Much to your dismay, Rafe and Topper also clamber over and you take a comfortable seat next to JJ. 

Whether he's too drunk to notice or does it to intentionally get under your skin is unclear, but Rafe takes a seat on your other side and his knee brushes yours ever so slightly. 

You ignore the shock of electricity and scoot closer to your best friend, desperate to put some distance between the kook prince and yourself. You're quickly distracted as John B begins explaining the rules, and your attention turns to him. 

"Okay, so we take turns saying things we've never done and if you have then you have to drink."

Everyone nods in understanding and the game begins. The first few rounds are tame, mostly things like 'I've never cheated on a test' and 'Never have I ever skipped class.'

It's enough to get you even more intoxicated seeing as you have to drink for every single one, and you're teetering on the edge of 'dancing on a table' drunk. Damn JJ and his strong drinks. 

Once it gets to your friend group though, things pick up a bit. 

"Never have I ever had sex on someone else's bed."

Your eyes widen as you let out a shocked laugh at Sarah's question, and you timidly bring your cup up to take a swig. 

Your friends all give you looks that are a mixture of surprise, amusement, and pride before the game carries on. 

John B's is specifically tailored for a certain blonde-haired surfer seeing as he made a drunken confession a few months ago. 

"Never have I ever had a threesome." 

JJ groans as John B laughs, and takes a long drink. 

"Fuck you, JB." 

However, what the conniving little shit hadn't expected was for you and Rafe to drink as well. You can see everyone piecing it together as their eyes narrow and they look at each other as if to say 'Are you thinking what I'm thinking?'

You suddenly find your tattered shoelaces to be the most interesting thing in the world as you try to ignore five sets of eyes burning into you and the two men beside you. JJ purses his lips as Rafe smirks and you want the ground to swallow you whole. 

Rafe shifts uncomfortably right as JJ readjusts his backwards ball cap nervously, and it does nothing to quell the speculation.

No way is this happening right now. Everyone is drunk, but not drunk enough to forget about this in the morning. You silently pray that someone else speaks up and takes the heat off you, but the universe laughs in your face as Kie breaks the thick silence. 

"Did the three of you.." 

She trails off but the rest of her lingering question is clear. You stiffen when Rafe pipes up, sure that he's about to out you. 

"Yeah, Kiara. That's exactly what happened, I had a threesome with two Pogues. Do you really believe that?" 

He says it as if it's the most ridiculous thing in the world, which you suppose from the outside looking in, it is. Her head tilts to the side with a frown and she scoffs. 

"Um, yeah actually. I kind of do."

You decide to double down on Rafe's sentiment and roll your eyes. 

"Seriously, you think I would fuck the kook prince? Come on."

It seems to do the trick as the game resumes, but you don't miss the suspicious glances sent your way every few minutes. 

This goes on for another half hour, everyone beyond plastered by the time it switches to truth or dare. 

To no one's surprise, JJ chooses dare and Pope doesn't hold back. 

"I dare you to kiss Y/N."

Had you been even one percent more sober, you would have protested. However, seeing as your judgment is fucked and you've been hooking up with JJ for several months on the down low, the idea doesn't seem too terrible.

He turns to you and smashes his lips against yours with ease, your hands coming up to tug at the hair on the nape of his neck as his tongue slips into your mouth. You momentarily forget you have an audience until you hear someone clear their throat, and leap back. 

"Yeah, sure. You guys totally haven't fucked." John B mutters, and you shoot him a harsh glare. 

It's your turn now and you breathe a sigh of relief when it's Cleo that holds your fate in her hands. 

"Truth or dare?"

You choose truth immediately, not wanting to chance another slip-up. 

"Do you have any scars?" 

You think for a second, trying to sift through your foggy mind before shaking your head. 

"No."

Your desire to prevent any further speculation is thrown out the window when JJ frowns and corrects you. 

"Yes, you do."

It doesn't register right away that he just confessed to seeing more of your body than the rest of the Pogues, and you scowl. 

"Where?"

In a momentary lapse of judgment, Rafe responds instead. 

"On your right ass cheek."

All three of you still, the revelation acting as a cold splash of water. You wait with bated breath, hoping that no one caught it when Sarah gasps. 

"Oh. My. God. You guys totally had a threesome!" 

She's met with three different responses all muddled together as you, Rafe, and JJ scramble. 

"No, we didn't!"

"We did not!" 

"It was one time!"

You visibly deflate as JJ blurts out the words and everyone's faces light up as if they just made the world's greatest discovery. 

Chaos breaks out and you lean back in your chair with a loud sigh. 

"When?!" Kie asks, but you don't get the chance to answer before John B interrupts.

"How did that happen?!"

None of you even attempt to respond as you're attacked with an onslaught of questions, the game long forgotten. You feel a headache setting in and throw your cup into the fire. 

"Fuck this." 

You start towards the cars, and both men follow after you, albeit a few paces behind. 

"Use protection!" Sarah calls and your only retort is a middle finger thrust up into the air. 

You're significantly more sober now, the entire situation practically evaporating the alcohol from your blood. 

You only stop once you reach the Twinkie, and Rafe gives a curt nod before continuing on to his Rover. JJ meets your eyes with a sorrowful gaze, rubbing his hand across the back of his neck with a boyish smile. 

"We are never going to hear the end of this, I hope you know that. "

You attempt to sound scolding, but there's clear amusement lurking just beneath the surface. 

"Well," He begins, taking a purposeful step forward. "If they're going to talk, might as well give them something to talk about."

I have thoughts about JB300 androids that we see in the Stratford Tower that work on TV.

Live translations require a ridiculous amount of equipment: cameras, tripods, cables (A LOT of cables), computers, keyboards, monitors, additional monitors for operators to see what's up, audio equipment, extension cords, all kinds of converters...my point is that it's a lot of stuff and shit is heavy and expensive. Even the most simple set-up requires the amount of equipment that's heavy, expensive and requires several people to operate.

But now let's imagine an android being involved — that's already a camera + tripod + operator + computer + potentially audio tech. It's like most of the heavy equipment and necessary crew at once.

JB300 are probably amongst the most powerful androids in terms of their hardware as they potentially process multiple raw video/audio inputs, but also the least human-like as a consequence of their function. If they record through their eyes they need to stay still, if they hold an external camera their hands should not shake even a little and they have to be able to walk in such a speed with such stability that from a bystander perspective it'll look disturbingly inhuman as no human can move in this precise way, be so still and hold a heavy camera for that long. I headcanon that JB androids don't even breathe as this action will only disturb their otherwise perfect stability and they already are too uncanny with most of their humanisation filters being incompatible with the kind of work they do.

It's possible that setup for live translation can look simply like two-three JB300 that act like operators+camera+transmitters+converters+audio-techs and a human with monitor for live-stream editing which, however can also be omitted if JB300 already can run the stream with deciding on the fly which input to send live, when and how with which captions/additional graphics. Hell, they can basically replace the whole crew and truck worth of equipment with only like three-four JB300.

Thinking about it I arrived at the point where I started to speculate how can this affect the existing set-up and here's the vision:

Being on the other side of the camera it's one thing to look into the camera and another to be watched by eerie motionless android whose eyes are switched to record mode and don't even look human. It's possible that JB300 would be filming through one-way mirrors so that those people who are being filmed would look at their reflection instead of JB300 whose sight is only making them feel uneasy.

Basically yeah, JB300 androids are probably amongst the most powerful yet inhumanly-looking androids there are. They may not have that much of the social protocols to hold a conversation as they are really much practical tools that need to follow instructions rather than appealing to someone as friendly customer service faces. Also they probably have the most expensive eyes among all androids.

finally!! someone said shiloh is an interesting character and even complex if you had analyze many of GB patch's long answered posts about him that doesn't include the 'Up for interpretation'.. (I've been in the shadows trying to hide that thought pls💀)

I have also spent an embarrassingly long amount of time combing through gb patch’s asks, going through every single mention of him I could find for scraps of characterisation lol but I can’t help it! He’s so interesting!

Like… I think half the reason why I like him so much is that I played Our life before XOXO droplets, so when he reappears in step 3 and the sunset bird gang finds out that he’s a little sicko it came as a complete surprise for me, because I really wasn’t expecting something like that.

He was so different from the other characters, it really intrigued me to see how a character that grew up alongside Liz and Cove could end up being so different, and how this incredibly wholesome, fluffy game basically makes it clear that Shiloh is a shitty, manipulative person and that sometimes people like that just don’t want to change. It doesn’t really end the whole Shiloh arc with a neat little bow by making him magically change his ways after an afternoon and they don’t frame Liz as being wrong or bad for still feeling affection for a dear childhood friend that turned out to be a snake, even after she found out about his true nature.

These kinds of dynamics just deeply interest me. I think that any relationship in Shiloh’s life ends up being at least a bit intriguing due to his manipulative tendencies, and it’s fun to speculate on his thoughts and the motivations behind every single person he chooses to associate with.

I… I have a lot of thoughts about him. I can spend days talking about him and JB’s relationship.

He’s genuinely one of my favourite characters ever I love that little snake and he’s incredibly underrated 😭

ok I hadn't watched the Waller Wedding in a hot minute here are some takeaways:

1. sooo much Bill Gothard talking about love and marriage like that crusty old man has ever been in a serious relationship in his LIFE.

2. Why in the hell were the Duggars as involved as they were?? That's Anna's family not Priscilla's? and JB wasn't a higher up in the IBLP at this time from my memory (although he was a very respected member) so why the hell do he and Michelle go up to pray with the parents? I mean Gil Bates would've even made more sense to me bc he was (is?) on the board of directors. My literal only guess is that it was a status thing.

3. Did Chad Paine ever officially do photography/videography that we know of or was he just stepping in to help?

4. David Waller has the MOST theater kid energy...... I'll save the sexuality speculation but you just know in another life that man would be the kid who sings showtunes in the hallways and says he's just practicing for the spring play

5. I think David and Priscilla's wedding was one of those that was designed head to toe to be an elaborate advertisement for the IBLP lifestyle. the gray pedal at the top right is very clearly a tuner, displaying note information and pitch accuracy. it very clearly resembles the peterson line of StroboStomp pedal tuners, but is closest to the Peterson StroboStomp HD Pedal Tuner (MSRP $149.00 USD / ¥28,444 JPY).

the black pedal with green text, is, thankfully, clearly labeled. it is a Seymour Duncan Andromeda Dynamic Digital Delay pedal. there's a lot going on here! it clocks in at MSRP $299.99 USD / ¥44,000 JPY.

the next pedal to the right is similarly labeled with a distinct design, and is a Boot-Leg HZM 2.0 Quattro Valvole Distortion Pedal. it's our first Japanese-manufactured pedal in the signal chain, and doesn't have an official USD MSRP, but can be found for $135.00 USD, and is sold domestically for ¥21,120 JPY.

the next pedal was a bit hard for me to make out until I got a higher-quality screencap of the pedalboard and could actually read the label, but it's a Electro-Harmonix Soul Food Distortion/Overdrive Pedal. in the states, it clocks in at $101.60 USD. I couldn't find an exact MSRP for the pedal in JPY (perhaps due to it not being formally exported, speculatively), but I found it online for ¥16,088 JPY.

the deniss situation is super frustrating!! I see people say "oh, he should quit the quads and just be the next jason brown" and forgetting that JB tried that quad toe for so long and ultimately there is only so far you can push a tech ceiling, especially when your competitors are all getting a second quad in the short already. Deniss clearly likes working with Steph and they clearly share an artistic vision of skating but I wonder if Deniss would benefit from a summer camp w a different team that has a different (or any?) jump specialist for a bit.

I agree wholeheartedly on the "super frustrating"! Such a tragedy.

I know why ppl make the comparison between Deniss and Jason's situation, but Deniss is a completely different person. So while their struggles seem to be comparable, you cannot just copy paste another skater's strategy and think that it would work the same way.

Ppl don't only forget that Jason was struggling with quads for his entire career, but also that their situations have some differences.

Jason had a powerful federation to back him up, Deniss cannot rely on his fed pushing his scores. (not to say Jason didn't deserve his scores, but sometimes his GOEs seemed a bit high compared to other skaters that did just as amazing triples with difficult entries etc. but were from small federations, not even Yuzu received as high GOEs on triples throughout his career though Yuzu wasn't from a small fed either, this was just an example)

Deniss isn't as consistent as Jason is/was with his triples. If Jason fell on the quad try you could maybe see him struggle a bit with the 3A sometimes but not with any other jump. Deniss isn't able to recover from his quad fall as quickly and he never had the same success rate with his triples in competition to begin with.

Ppl don't like to admit or see it...Deniss skating skills and transitions aren't nearly as good as Jason's were. Jason is exceptionally in the transition department, Deniss is great but there is still a jarring difference between what those two do.

Skating nowadays relies a lot heavier on jump abilities than when Jason was struggling with quads. There is only a couple of years difference age wise but skating has changed a lot. And let's also not forget that not being able to do a quad did make Jason miss the Olympics in 2018 and almost also in 2022. So it's not like Jason's strategy was always working against stronger jumpers in the US. Deniss is just luckier in that regard bc in this case a small country is a blessing.

I am not sure if the technical expertise is lacking for Deniss. They invited jump specialists to Champery, Ghislain Briand is giving summer camps there for several years in a row, he's now even part of the coaching team, so actually Deniss does have a lot of specialists to work with. Maybe a summer camp with different ppl or approaches could help him. Maybe the problem is more mentally than physically, I don't know just speculating. There are videos of Deniss landing quads both 4S and 4T even in combination. So technically he is able to do them, just the success rate in competition is basically 0.

I was also thinking is Stephane still the right coach for Deniss? I know this opinion is widely unpopular but if it weren't Stephane specifically would that option be still this outrageous? Ofc they share a vision and I also understand that the entire success of Deniss' senior career is a joint work between Stephane and Deniss, but there is only so much a coach can do for you. And maybe it reached its limits. I think Stephane himself even looks frustrated when Deniss came off the ice at SkAm. It's just a thought so pls don't come at me...

We aren't in his shoes and I wouldn't want to tell what is right for him. For me it's just clear that his current strategy is not working and that he can't continue this path forever bc it can't be mentally good to not be able to get any kind of success. Maybe they are already aware of the problems and are working on it. I hope he'll find a way. I cannot offer a solution, just wish him well.

I can only repeat, it's frustrating. And it's probably or definitely the most frustrating for Deniss himself.
