The Wings album is based on Hermann Hesse’s novel, ‘Demian: The Story of Emil Sinclair’s Youth’, a coming of age story that uses myths and references to follow the journey of a young boy to self-realization.

One of the key points of this book is the importance of accepting the duality necessary in life. Lie focuses on the fight between the true, insecure self and the mask that is created to face the world. But that mask is starting to swallow him up.
