Pidge & Lance friendship/sibling dynamic headcanons?

hi! thank you sm for asking this!! i didn't think I'd be able to come up with anything but it was surprisingly super fun to do, I really liked writing this. I'm sorry it took so long to get out tho, I've had to spend like 90% of my time on the yearbook recently and i couldnt really do much else :/. but the yearbook is now finished and so is this hc list! i hope you enjoy it :)

let us begin 

Lance and Pidge! 

they didn't actually become friends until after the whole voltron debacle started 

we saw that lance had tried to befriend pidge back at the garrison, but (obviously) she had never been interested

like, at all 

so lance just kind of assumed she didn't like him and gave up after a while 

they're mostly, like, acquaintances, for the first few weeks of joining voltron - it takes pidge a little while to warm up to lance bc she thinks he's just an annoying party-boy, and lance thinks pidge is kind of full of herself

once they realise how much they have in common, though… 

all hell breaks loose. more or less. 

they play a lot of video games together

at first they only have killbot phantasm one, so they give themselves new rules and "multitask levels" to make it more interesting after they both inevitably master the game 

this usually involves having to defeat levels by themselves while the other person throws things at them 

the two of them also make sure to spend at least an hour every space mall-visit searching for new games, and pidge likes to code things for them to play when they run out  

lance has a list of nicknames for all of their teammates, but he makes a point to have some variety in his pidge names for the different occasions that he uses them in 

this list includes but is not limited to: pidgey/pidgeon (self explanatory), pea (short joke and green joke wrapped in one), birdie (for when he's trying to be nice), and stripe (after the evil gremlin in the movie gremlins)

pidge isn't a big fan of music, but she hates to work in silence, so lance will come hang out with her while she works and just talk about whatever

she doesn't fully listen most of the time, but lance doesn't mind because he never really talks about anything important 

their other teammates aren't exactly used to this dynamic, tho 

keith, staring at lance as he explains in detail the "sith lord jar jar binks" theory: how do you… focus? with him doing this? 

pidge: it's kinda like a white noise machine. I just tune him out

lance: first of all, racist, second of all- 

pidge also uses lance as her main source of ideas for low-stakes projects to work on on the side 

she even lets him help her make them, a privilege gifted to absolutely no one else (except hunk, but lance maintains that he doesn't count bc he's an engineer and makes stuff anyways) 

so far, they have made a (semi) functioning hoverboard, lightsabers (they can't hurt people, tho, much to pidge's disappointment), and a grappling hook

their most recent project is trying to figure out how to recreate spider-man's web shooters 

lance: i need to be spider-man, pidge. i was born to be spider-man. i can feel it. 

pidge: y'know lance that's actually super interesting, because I distinctly remember that spider-man actually made his own web shooters, he didn't just sit on the counter and watch as his friend did all the work 

lance: …

pidge's laptop has a bunch of kinds of entertainment downloaded onto it - music, movies, like three tv shows - and once lance learns this he refuses to let it go until he gets her to agree to watch something with him

one of the shows she has just so happens to be criminal minds. lance clings to this like his life depends on it 

lance, over comms: hey baby girl i need you to work me some magic 

pidge, trying to hack into a galra base: leandro martin mcclain I swear to god I am going to release your location to every sentry on this ship and I am going to watch them kill you over these security cameras and I am going to laugh 

needless to say, they make fun of eachother a lot 

every day. about everything. 

lance, dropping a spoon on the floor at breakfast: :/

pidge: lmao look at you. outstanding coordination. they really should've taught you how to juggle at clown school 

lance: first of all fuck you, second of all it was called performer's camp and i bet they wouldn't even let you in

in true sibling fashion, they never let eachother forget anything embarrassing. no matter what. 

pidge: (is quiet for more than three minutes) 

lance: hey remember that time at the garrison when a pretty girl asked if she could borrow a pencil and you panicked and said you didn't have any because you can't spell

pidge: I'm telling shiro on you that was one time- 

however, despite all of their teasing, they really do care about each other a lot

pidge is the first to hug lance when he steps out of the healing pods, and lance will bend over backwards to cheer pidge up on a bad day 

sometimes literally. never tell your found family siblings that you're a trained acrobat, kids.

lance organises little sleepovers with allura for days when pidge is feeling particularly dysphoric, so they can do traditionally "girly" things like paint their nails and put on makeup 

pidge doesn't usually do that sort of thing on a regular day, so it's kind of like a nice reminder that she's allowed to be feminine if she wants to be

originally a rule of these sleepovers was that everyone had to do one thing that pidge asked for before the night ended, but they had to scrap that rule after… complications, in one of lance's dares 

(in defense of allura, it had been over 10,000 years since she had her ears pierced, and it's not like she could see what the (professional) beautician was doing at the time, so really the fact lance ended up in a healing pod with an ear infection wasn't even her fault. the piercings do suit him, tho, so she maintains she did a very good job regardless)

the three of them usually end up cuddling in a little pile when they finally go to sleep 

lance has a sixth sense about knowing which bodily function pidge is neglecting at any given time 

he calls it his Big Brother Eye, and only realised he had inadvertently made a book reference when shiro praised him for his culture 

lance: big brother sees everything, pidgeon

shiro: oh, you've read 1984, lance? 

lance: um. is that like an album or something. 

anyways, lance tends to make frequent stops to pidge's room and/or lab to remind her to eat, drink, sleep, etc. sometimes all three at once but only in emergencies. 

pidge rarely actually wants to take a break, tho, so lance channels his best "my sister had kids when i was ten and i have been bargaining with small children for almost a decade" voice to convince her to leave 

lance: okay birdie, i know the coffee tastes good, but y'know what would taste even better? a sandwich. maybe even some ice cream. you feel like ice cream today kiddo? 

pidge, hopped up on three days of no sleep and expired space coffee coran thought it would be safe to give her: (stares directly into lance's eyes) where are you

lance and pidge both get the most homesick out of the team, so sometimes they'll just chill together in silence for a while. lance reminds pidge of her brother, and pidge reminds lance of one of his sisters, so their company is like an extra bit of comfort. they help each other a lot when it gets really difficult

Furuya

Oh sweet sweet Furuya :')

He's not the greatest with verbal communication so he struggles a bit when trying to verbally comfort you

He's trying his best but poor thing has the hardest time voicing his thoughts and ends up awkwardly staring at you while he sputters out nonsense

(it has its own cute charm so his efforts still have a way of cheering you up!)

Not great at talking BUT BOY IS HE GREAT AT PHYSICALLY COMFORTING YOU

Furuya is a big fan of naps and knows that they help him immensely when he's overworked so obviously he's gonna drag you to his bunk so you can take a nap together!

Let's you curl up to him however you're most comfortable (this nap break is focused more on your comfort than his)

Furuya has a plethora of cozy blankets so honestly this is like a grade A napping experience

If you're in a scenario where you can't take a nap his tactic is to very gently hug you into his chest until you've destressed a bit

A more rare thing he does is get some form of treat for the two of you

The first years started hiding boxes of popsicles in the back of the freezers in the kitchen after the summer training camp so he usually grabs you one when they're in there

Tetsuya

Much better at verbal communication than Furuya

Although his comforting words sound slightly reminiscent to a pep talk he'd give the team

If he saw you weren't giving yourself breaks he'd convince (force) you to take one, rattling off about how it's not good for your health

Something he does a lot is run his hands up and down your arms. Bonus bc his hands a super warm!

Tetsu also loves pulling you into his lap so he can hold you in his arms! It makes you feel very safe, kinda like that feeling you get when you flop onto your bed after a long day

He doesn't get very sappy with you often but at these times he will try and voice how much he cares about you (he's very blunt about it tho)

Tetsuya is a pretty active person so if you're up to it he likes to take you on walks around campus so you can have a moment of peace together

You don't always have a conversation on these walks, sometimes the warm atmosphere and soft chirping of crickets is all you need. That and your hand being held by his ♥️

Mei

I feel like Mei would be a bit pouty that you're spending so much time and energy on something that's not involving him

Once he gets past his more childish outlooks and sees how genuinely overworked and tired you are he'll feel bad about his previous thoughts and complaints (doesn't matter if he actually voiced his irritation and wants for attention to you or if he kept quiet, Mei'd still feel guilty about it)

Mei will most likely try and coax you away from what you're working on with more playful tactics

I.e. he kind of clings onto you and tries to get you to take a break so you can cuddle

If that doesn't work he gets a bit more serious about the situation and tells you to your face that you need to take a break

Cuddling is his go-to destressing method for you

Most often you find the two of you tucked snugly under a blanket with your head resting on his chest

Sometimes Mei props up his laptop so you can watch a movie (surprisingly he's pretty into Disney/Pixar stuff) and sometimes you just comfort eachother quietly with soft pecks and whispering sweet words

He will talk to you about what's been going on but YOU have to be the one to prompt the conversation. I don't really see Mei as the type that's all "We should discuss this" but more of a "I will discuss this if it would help/make you feel better"

Even if you decide to stay quiet on what's bothering you Mei always reassures you that he's proud of you and of how much he loves you

(It makes him feel good when you say these things to him so he's honestly just hoping that those words bring you just as much comfort)

send a 👫 and I’ll write four headcanons i have about our muses’ relationship.

ok so. lana has a habit of sharing food as one of her many love languages i think. she jst likes.... giving ppl things even if it means she’ll have less. she’d let a wolf make a meal out of her n eat every last piece if she loved him n she knew he’d feel full. bt of everyone i feel like teddy hs always been the one she does this w most.... like even when they first met in the cafeteria she gave him spoonfuls of her greek yogurt n honey. whenever she’s eating fruit (which is a lot she’s obsessed w strawberries n peaches n grapes n tangerines n oranges) she’ll ALWAYS give him half whether tht’s segmenting up pieces or dividing bites evenly between them n Without Fail it’ll always b half tht she gives him whereas she might give other ppl like.... a bite or a piece or two bt......... it’s rly specific each time tht she gives teddy half. it isn’t even intentional it’s jst like a subconscious thing bt if we were to slide on spectacles n analyse this in an english class fr it’s Meaning then. looks at u then looks away. i think this represents the way tht teddy hs always felt like another half of her. they’re one in the same. in a lot of ways they’re very similar mayb even................ TOO similar n that’s why it’s been sch a fking.... bastard of trying to work things out ever bc they very much hv the same rampant commitment issues n bad timing n fears of never being gd enough. i feel like in the past a guy she ws dating (noncommittally as lana tended to do these things) wld have even noticed this n it would have bugged him a lot just like... how close she was w teddy in general............. n he would’ve one day brought it up in the middle of a fight he’d picked jst cutting away from what they were talking abt to be like. u only ever give me one bite but u would give teddy all of it if he asked u to. tell me i’m wrong. n she’d scoff out a laugh in disbelief looking around like omg...... all this over a fruit...... what are u even sa-- n he’d cut her off n be like. literally tell me i’m wrong lana. n she wouldn’t even b able to after going quiet n rly realising what it was he was actually Saying. he’d storm out. relationship over. icons of always being a little bit in love w each other n not even noticing it until someone else points it out <3

god. sighs dramatically at the idea i jst had. i cn imagine in la verse lana being rly drunk getting bk from a date one time n inevitably it was just some random loser since she’s back to dating Trash in this era bc she just truly cbas trying after her breakup w dom n............. it would be like a parallel to tht one time they’d fallen out over him sleeping w imogen when she ws upset w him bt crawled into his bed drunk at a party just to lie w him for a little while despite everything...... she wld have gone to his instead of hers on some drunken automatic pilot n somehow got into his room n..... she’d clamber in n flop nxt to him n maybe it wld be funny at first if he woke up n was like lana what the fk...... are u doing here.... so disorientated n confused.......... n she’d just be joking initially bt very clearly drunk like making fun of her date talking abt how he kept complimenting his own hair n calling himself a tesla in a sea of prius’ n checking himself out in every window they passed n then the laughter wld slowly trickle off n she’d go kind of quiet fr a moment n maybe teddy wld assume she ws passing out bc she’d drank sm bt after a short silence she’d perk up with a mumble out of nowhere n, barely conscious of what she’s saying, b like “why didn’t u wait for me like u said u would”. n if he was like.............. huh? she’d have her eyes shut n just b murmuring half awake then open them sleepily to look at him n rly quietly be like........ “u promised”. mayb she’d even reach out to gingerly trace his face bt then her wrist wld go slack bc she was rly tired n she’d just wriggle closer n tuck her head to get comfy n be like “warm” then promptly fall asleep. JSGSFKGHFHGKHGSFKH. literally jst jolting him awake w this rarely serious n genuine conversation then passing out. jst the worst fk teddy’s life bet he lay there staring at the ceiling fr so long after tht one <3 lana wouldn’t remember this in the morning either she’d wake up like why am i here........ did we meet up last night............ teddy jst like >_> u crashed here it was nbd.

i picture the first week they moved to LA lana wldn’t have admitted it bt she wld be feeling rly homesick............ radcliffe was very much like the first place she truly felt was her home n she’d miss all of the ppl there n just the general area A Lot............. one night i can see her jst wanting to spend with teddy to have like a sense of familiarity in an unfamiliar city (even if she’s spent a decent amt of time there over the yrs bc of jameson records hving studios etc bt still) n i’m imagining them like. breaking into an indoor swimming complex that her n her friends in high skl used to break into in the summers when they vacationed yrs ago.... maybe lana still has a key cut tht works from a connection she made bk then idk <3 it doesn’t matter <3 n they’d inevitably be drunk n just messing around n splashing each other n doing handstand competitions n all the typical..... fun frivolous childish antics lana n teddy tend to get into whenever they’re around each other.... truly jst transformed into big kids whenever they’re in the other’s company..... inspired a little by this gifset jst in terms of the playing around underwater vibe. anyway. mayb they mostly dry off bt they end up climbing up onto the rooftop after n it’s a baking summer night anyway so it isn’t like they’ll catch a cold being damp bt they share a big fluffy towel n bottle of rum between them huddled overlooking the lights of the city. n maybe somehow it gets onto lana admitting how much she misses home n how it’s kind of weird being here especially bc she’s further from caleb. she’s never been this far from him since he was away in the army n we all kno hw tht turned out. mayb she’d go a bit quiet after saying this bt then i think she’d take his hand w their fingers laced together n she’d rest her head on his shoulder n be like. at least i’ll always have u. it’s like i took a piece of home w me. we’ve always had each other like that. then she’d perk up n lift her head n be like let’s make a deal. i’ll be ur home if u’ll be mine. ok? n make him pinky promise. i dnt think she’d quite consider the sentimentality in tht bt 😔 she nvr rly does she jst says what feels natural without attention paid to the deeper meaning tht motivated it n.... sighs. looks at u then looks away....

this is inspired by tht scene in don’t trust the b in apartment 23 where she’s like “look. that video of me getting rawed by my best friend means the world to me.” KJGFGJKSFHKGHKSFGHKFSHKGSHGK god. inevitably in lana n teddy’s prime when they were literally hooking up 24/7 in earlier college yrs they made.............. a few videos. i mean it’s jst realistic. it’s jst common sense. probably even a feature length film at one point. n i had this idea where bc teddy’s trying to get into acting etc mayb if he gets an agent his agent is like.... do u have any dirt u need to take care of? loose ends to tie up? incriminating files to delete? sex tapes? n if he was like... ya..... mayb his agent wld have asked him to delete them if he still had them on his computer or w.e i mean i kno lana wld n wouldn’t have deleted them she wld have been proud of their work of art...... bt maybe he told lana abt this just laughing abt it n the atmosphere ws lighthearted at first bc she’d find it rly funny too like ommmmggggggg i’m a skeleton in ur closet tht is so fun if u get famous i cld be blasted all over perez hilton that’s kind of sexy..... bt............... mayb she’d as a joke be like. mayb we shld watch it one last time before u delete it. kind of like a funeral service. a goodbye party. sailing out the flaming viking raft n paying our respects u know??? n they were joking bk n forth bt then she’d be like. seriously tho mayb we should? growing more accustomed to the idea actually being a genuine one even tho tht is fking. the WORST idea i have EVER heard in the world like i do NOT know how lana wld think she has the self control to do that bt in her head she’s like. teddy n i are jst best friends now... it’s fine........... we’re open w each other it’s just a bit of fun.......... n then i can imagine if he went along w this it’s like a game of chicken they’re playing w each other where they’re both like fking hell shd we do this.... dnt wna seem like I’M the one tht thinks i can’t handle it........ n it’s some back n forth like nick n jess in new girl where they’re daring each other to have the threeway w the landlord. bt then like not even.... a minute into watching it as they’re both silently holding their breath n crunching popcorn they mde for the occasion (insisting on acting like it ws just a normal movie night) lana wld literally have to be like. slams laptop shut. “Look!” You exclaimed excitedly as soon as you entered the squad’s office. It was a Monday, meaning all of them would be dead tired and complaining about Monday but not you. You were excited because later after work, you’ll go to the movies with Damien.

Well, not just Damien. You will go to the movies with Shayne, Courtney, Ian, and Damien.

Damien, who was doing something on his computer stopped. He put his headphones around his neck and turned to look at you with a smile, “Yeah?” He responded, cheeks still a little pink.

“The trailer for Season four!” You showed him your phone and Damien read for a moment before his eyes widen. “No shit! Have you watched the trailer?”

“Not yet. I want to watch it with you,” Damien’s heart skipped a beat and he immediately grabbed the nearest seat and put it beside him before ushering you to sit and watch it on his desktop.

“Oh no, do you have earphones so we can both hear?”

“I have none,” You pouted and Damien puts his hand under his chin to think before grabbing his headphone to rotate on headphone cup to the outside. “Would this do?” He asked and showed you his headset. You nodded and Damien searched up the trailer for My Hero Academia S4.

Damien clicked the video and paused it before wearing his headphone. You immediately, as if you two have done this before, put your face next to him, ears pressed up to the open headphone cup as the two of you watched the trailer—completely unaware of Shayne, Boze, and Keith’s gaze on you two.

They were wondering whether you two are going out. Or when would you two go out.

Ever since Damien entered Smosh, you two hit it up quite quickly. You both love anime, and cats and you both were talking non-stop for a week just because of that.

At first, you were unaware of your feelings for him. Both of you have already went to the movies alone, eat out alone, even went to the cat café alone, however, one night. Only one night made you realize that, shit, you like your friend.

The Smosh fam has thrown a party for one of their producers and you had one too many drinks that night. However, what they don’t know about you was that your alcohol tolerance was higher than any other person. So, they all thought you were drunk because you were talking too much. Actually, when you drank too much, you would get talkative and super red but not drunk. Shayne had suggested you go home and Damien volunteered.

He was assisting you with your every step. Hands always on your waist for support and you can just feel Damien’s concern for you.

“I’m good now,” You said once you stepped in front of your apartment door. Damien was looking at you worriedly and you giggled. You looked down and you realized that you two were holding hands.

“I can help you up,” Damien suggested and you just waved him off, hands still linked together.

You averted your gaze up, eyes meeting each other then you found yourself resting your head on the crook of Damien’s neck.

Confusion was written on your face for a moment, you don’t know why you have done it but as soon as Damien patted your hair, your heart did some backflips.

“Hey dude, earth to Y/N,” You snapped out of your thoughts and felt something cold on your cheeks. You looked at the source and saw Damien with a smile and a cola in hand pressed against you face. You took the can with a thanks as Damien sat beside you.

“Why were you staring at your computer for a minute?” He asked, drinking his own can of cola. You brought your hand up and rubbed your eyes, thanking yourself for not putting it mascara earlier. “I’m just writing a script, that’s all.”

“Whoa, can I peek?”

“Peek, and you’re dead.”

“Why so mean Ms. Y/F/N.” You blushed. Damien rarely calls you by your full name and it sent butterflies in your stomach, even though you dislike butterflies.

“Hey how about this, after work let’s go to the arcade,” He suggested and you rolled your eyes, “Aren’t we too old for arcades?”

“Nah uh, we aren’t. Come on, what do you say?” He looked at you suggestively and admittedly, he looked so handsome you want to squish his face. You sighed in defeat as you nodded, Damien cheered and exclaimed on how he can’t wait for later.

Now, Damien has known you for quite some time and he was glad you two had hit it off quite easy. At first he was cautious but as soon as you mention you watch anime, Damien can’t stop.

Damien has Shayne to talk to about anime, but it was really different when you talk to someone who also reads the manga. You managed to read mangas and Damien was enthusiastic.

At first, Damien was unaware of his feelings for you. Kind of avoiding that topic in his head whenever he sees you. But one day. Only one day was needed that he realized, shit, he likes his friend.

Damien was busy playing, eyes never leaving his screen and him, Mari and Wes played some game. It was nearing afternoon and Damien was getting a little stressed with the game. Wes was winning and Damien hides it a little that he doesn’t want Wes to win.

Damien the groaned and stared at his camera for a long time as the rest laughed out. They gave out their outros and the shoot was done.

“Nice job everyone,” Mari cheered and Wes emitted a laugh as he pointed at Damien. “Sorry bud. Maybe next time,” Damien pouted and there was a tap on his computer screen.

“Hey Dames,” You greeted with a smile. Damien then proceeds to whine a little, telling you that he would win next time.

You just laughed and patted his head. Your smile was blinding and pretty sure Damien can’t see anything else but your reassuring smile.

“Dames,”

“Yes?” Damien was waiting outside your office and he didn’t realize that he had zoned out for minutes. “Ready?” You asked, feeling all excited to go to the arcade with him.

“Yeah, come on!”

It has been a while since the two of you hang out, just the two of you. You were pretty excited as you both entered Damien’s car. “Where to?”

“Maybe near the xxx?” Damien suggested and you nodded. As Damien was driving, you picked up the aux cord and rummaged through your phone. “What you gonna play?”

“You’ll see,” You smirked and pressed play. Soon, the both of you were singing your hearts out to Boku No Hero opening songs.

“Pretty packed, huh?” You commented as soon as you opened the door. Damien was scratching the back of his head as he looked around the arcade. “Yeah, didn’t know it would be full on the weekday,” Damien apologized but you immediately waved him off.

“No, no it’s fine. Come on, let’s play!”

You and Damien played from basketball shooting to race car driving. It was so fun, and looking at Damien laughing and enjoying because of you made your heart all warm and fuzzy.

Half an hour later, you both decided to eat when a group of girls stopped you. Well, more like Damien. They seemed to be fans as they were talking to him about how awesome he was and if it was okay to take a picture with him. Of course, who was Damien to refuse? He’s the kindest person you have ever known.

You stood on the side as you watched Damien get surrounded by girls. This was bad, you thought as you felt your chest tightening when one girl went in for a hug, her hands wrapped around his waist as Damien posed with a dashing smile.

Releasing a groan, you turned around with a pout.

You knew damn well Damien was quite famous so you don’t really have the rights to complain. Hell, you weren’t eve his girlfriend—

Girlfriend.

You felt your cheeks heating up at the thought.

Oh god, girlfriend.

“Hey, sorry to keep you waiting. Let’s go? Taco Bell?” You released the breath you didn’t know you were holding and Damien looked at you worriedly. “What’s wrong?”

“Oh nothing. Just—I suddenly remembered work stuff.”

“Oh no. Y/N is super stressed. This requires food! Let’s go!” Damien grabbed hold of your shoulders as he guide the both of you to the nearest Taco Bell.

“You know, why are they so thin but yet, only one can already make me feel so full?” You showed Damien the quesadilla you were holding and Damien shook his shoulder, eating his food in the process. “Beats me. They look like you wanted four but then you quit after two.”

The both of you continued to talk animatedly, any random topics that would came into your minds will automatically be the new topic.

This was what Damien liked. Just you and him talking about random stuff. It made him happy that somehow he would get to know you more and more. And the way you laugh, damn, Damien wanted to pinch those cheeks of yours.

Y/N was discussing about something when she was suddenly interrupted and she stood up to hug that guy that interrupted her.

“Max!”

Max? Who is he? Damien thought as he looked at you and the new comer. You two seemed close. Too close.

You and this so called Max broke the hug and ask how each other was and all. Damien’s lip formed a thin line as he grabbed for his drink and drank a little too harsh.

Damien knew damn well you were pretty. With you hair and eyes, and those lips. You were so pretty, he kind of questions how the two of you became friends. However, as he looked on how you and Max interacted he can’t help but to feel… jealous.

Something was wrong. You felt it. Damien was awfully quiet right now as he was driving you home. It was nearing eight, the sun has already set and traffic was unpleasant.

He said he was just tired but you can feel that it wasn’t just tired. You were tired but not that exhausted to be all quiet.

As soon as he parked in front of your apartment, you bit your lips. Eyes scanning the dashboard as you process in your brain on what to say to Damien.

“We’re here…” Damien announced and you groaned. Turning to look at him with a pout.

“Tell me what is bothering you,” You said, more like demanded and Damien was taken aback. He released a sigh before resting his back on his seat.

“Nothing,”

“Don’t nothing me Damien Christian,” Damien cringed a little as you called him by his full name.

“Ever since Taco Bell you have been acting quiet,” You started, eyes never leaving his face.

Was this your first ever quarrel with him? You don’t like it one bit.

“And I don’t know what to do. It’s making me all anxious knowing something might be wrong and the reason might be me. Damien tell me—”

“I like you.”

Silence.

Pure silence surrounded you both as Damien looked at the steering wheel, afraid to look into your eyes.

He hated it. How he had let his temper and feelings in the way. Well, it was go home or go big. Damien can’t back out now.

“I’m sorry…” He finally managed to mutter out, eyes still glued in front. “I like you… ever since. And I—oh god this is so stupid,”

“Why is it so stupid?” You managed to ask and Damien immediately averted his gaze to you and saw tears pooling in your eyes. He quickly unstrapped his seatbelt as he leaned into you to cup your face.

He was even more scared to see you on the brink of tears.

“No, what I meant-”

“Is it so stupid to like me?”

Damien stared at your face as you avoid eye contact. “No,” He said softly, “No, no. No. Oh god, no.” Damien sighed as he wiped away the unshed tears. “I—”

“Because I like you too, Damien,” Damien’s eyes widen at your sudden confession and he badly wanted to kiss you right now but he hugged you instead.

“Oh, t-that’s—I…” You two were speechless and you both succumbed into each other’s arms.

“Silly Dames,” You commented and both of you laughed, still entangled in a hug.

You were so worried. You thought you have ruined your friendship somehow but it turns out to be quite different. You smiled under Damien’s hug.

21.) Tell us a funny Sonic-related story.

This one comes from the depths of my very first months as a Sonic fan. Basically, I had watched Sonic X upon its first Italian release as a very very smol bean. By the time I got obsessed again in middle school, though, I had forgotten everything about it except a few shots from the Italian opening theme and ONE scene from a season three episode, where Sonic and Knuckles played chess on a spaceship and then Sonic began running around and fell into space.

The “friend” that had introduced me to the show again (not a nice person and source of about 25% of my trauma, I’m glad to say I haven’t seen her in years) didn’t believe me and accused me of lying. Repeatedly. Unkindly. For months. How could such a stupid scene be in such an amazing cartoon? I must be trying to fuck with her.

Fast forward to the end of the year. I’m minding my business and I see a Facebook message from this friend, and another, and another. I click on it wondering what she’d be going ham over, and BAM. This girl had been watching Sonic AMVs on Youtube and had caught a glimpse of that scene at the beginning of a video and was fucking losing it over the fact that WOW, I HAD BEEN TELLING THE TRUTH ALL ALONG?!

Now, you have to understand that I wasn’t the kind of kid that swore, back then. I had been brought up to think that swear words would send you to hell straight away. And while not a delicate little flower, I was much, much cuter and more proper than I am now because I couldn’t live out my butch dreams quite yet. But I needed to express all the frustration gathered in those months.

So please imagine this baby-faced, straight A student 13yo wait for her friend in front of their school and bellow at the top of her lungs “BITCH, WHAT DID I FUCKING TELL YOU?”

I still remember that scene fondly, though.

31.) Tell us a Sonic-related story that will give us feels.

Related to the experience I just mentioned, the problem I had in my first years in this fandom was that this person who had dragged me into it was obsessed with the thought that people would mock us for it. She said it was for kids, and when she got over it she gave me shit for clinging to my passion while she’d “grown up”, and she had me enjoy Sonic in secret and yelled at me for saying anything even vaguely related out loud where other people could hear us.

It got into my head so much that for a long long time I didn’t dare share anything Sonic-adjacent on any social media, long past when I’d broke away from her. I thought no one would ever take me seriously again. I felt ashamed a lot.

It got better, though. Slowly, I broke out of my shell and started interacting with this amazing fandom, and I found lots of people who didn’t give a damn about what the world thought of their passion. And I know tons of wonderful people outside the fandom, too, friends who encourage me to talk about Sonic even though they don’t know anything about it. Chats where any mention of Sonic has someone saying “wait we must tag naivesilver into this she’ll love it”. It’s - it warms my heart every day. Tumblr is a shithole, but it helped me in feeling free to do what I love in the fandom that I love most.

Thank you. To everyone that got me through that, thank you. You have no idea how helpful you’ve been to me.

None I think???? There are some I don't listen to much, either because I haven't played the game or I just don't vibe with them, but there isn't any song that I particularly dislike. Almost all of them are genuine bops.

FOUND FAMILY!!! Adoptive parents, siblings, friends taking care of each other, I want a shitton of fluff in my life. And kid!fic. I could read (and write!) kid!fic every day for the rest of my life and never get tired of it. That's why I enjoy Chaotix and Sonic Movie fics so much. Let's raise them boys well.

As for hating...I don't like high school AUs lmao I wrote one when I was younger but I never dared touch it again and I haven't read any Sonic one since 2014 at most. And most time travel fics. Sorry, Silver, I love you a fucking lot but time travel shenanigans are only funny in the two or three specific settings my mind lets me enjoy.

10.) What do you like best about your favorite animated adaptation?

I only finished my Sonic X rewatch yesterday and I’ve been meaning to make some final comments about it (tho it’d probably be me rambling at thin air bc I doubt I can say anything that hasn’t been already said over and over and over) but the most compelling thing for me is and always will be the music.

Don’t get me wrong, what I’ve seen of the OG Japanese version had wonderful, heartfelt music, but the upbeat themes I grew up with still have me vibing day in and day out. I can dance to the Italian opening sequence at any given moment - no, you know what, here it is. Watch it and feel the serotonin drip into your veins.

(Some people will come at me for this, but I didn’t watch this show in 2019-2020 to make an in-depth analysis about it. I did it to have a dance off while Knuckles beat up some robots.)

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, I’m not the greatest game fan as in I’ve only been actively playing for the past 2/3 years. Before that it was just gameplays on Youtube, so you should not take my opinion into any account since it’s not very informed.

However there was something about Sonic and the Black Knight that just felt...new? Peculiar? I know jack shit about the technical side of gaming but I remember being extremely pumped every time I logged in to see more of it. I'd like to feel that again, when a new game drops.

shiro x reader coffee shop au

alright so for this, u and lance are coworkers at a small time cafe:

- so u work nights/afternoons a lot and it gets rlly tedious. i mean, u can go a full hour without any work at all so u and lance tend to play stupid games or doodle on napkins to stick around the work area. 

- at one point he’s in the back doing smthn and in walks shiro, fresh from a run and looking like someone sculpted by the gods and ur jaw drops. i mean, u break out in cold sweats, instantly nervous, but he's rlly sweet and cool. he makes small talk abt what he should get, he tells u he rlly likes tea but he has't found any rlly good brands and asks which is ur fav. he also asks abt the little pastries and stuff, he doesn't want anything too sweet or heavy and u help him with that

- the whole time he's rlly sweet, hanging on ur every word and giving u blinding smiles, def flirting w u but not going overboard and ur an anxious mess. he kinda hangs back to chat w u some but then a new customer comes in and he ends up heading out- saying he'll see u soon- and u go to take care of the next customer

- after the lady gets her drinks, she sits in the corner and start going on her laptop and lance finally comes out. u tell them abt this guy, u don't even know his name (it was so slow u didn't have to ask for one- u also forgot from staring at him), but u do a rough sketch of shiro, scar and all, and lance teases u abt it bc they don't believe he was that attractive LMAO but now ur determined

- over the course of the next month u see him 5 times and every. single. time. lance is doing something. inventory, cleaning the bathroom, laying out pastries to be put in the oven or something that keeps him away from the front and every time he comes back u tell them how ‘the guy’ came by again. it becomes a huge joke between u two but lance is getting rlly interested in seeing this dude bc u hype him up so much

- so finally !!! lance is working the cash register and ur wiping some tables (u guys play games and whoever 'loses' has to do the dirty stuff like clean tables or the bathroom or wash the dishes after a small pop- neither of u mind doing those things but it's fun to make it a game either way) when shiro walks in but he doesn't notice u and just walks up to the register. mind u, he always comes within the same time frame. not on the dot but he always swings by after a run around 7-8pm and chats w u until someone comes in and u gotta help a new customer. it's routine. so he goes up to the register, fully expecting u, and comes face to face w lance

- u see this and ur pointing, making hand gestures to say "THATS HIM" and lance is like jaw dropped, eyes wide, completely blown away because he's real and u weren't kidding, this guy is gorgeous and before lance can compose himself to give the spiel ("hi, what can i get for you?") shiro cuts him off and asks for you by name. LANCE SNORTS OUT LOUD which makes shiro blush like crazy bc holy shit did he just say that out loud ? 

- and u run behind the counter, slowing to a walk before u get to shiro so u can pretend like u didn't even notice him. u say hi while lance moves to let u take shiro’s order (best wingman ever). ya'll do the whole flirty thing and lance starts working on the drink while u both talk. u try to hang back and talk to him but people start filtering in and he says he's gotta get back to check on his brother

- as he's leaving and he says goodbye you hear lance yell "her number is on the cup !!" and u blush like crazy while he just crooks a smile and nods his thanks, things pick up after that and u forget what happened in the meantime

- the next day shiro calls u so u can save his number (this boy is bad af at texting- old man) and he tells u how he didn't wanna call u while u were still at work. he asks abt ur day and what ur plans r, if u enjoy ur job, etc. and it ends up being a decently long convo that just flows so naturally - it's rlly amazing and ur swooning. hard. 

- u try to give lance grief for doing that bc u were so nervous but ur on cloud 9 after the phone call that ur heart just isn't in it. 

- shiro’s phone calls regular and he still swings by the cafe after some of his runs but now when he gets his drink he hangs around longer. so even if u take a minute to finish up something for another customer he'll wait for u instead of just leaving like he did before. lance usually tries to cover for u, joking that once ya'll r finally together they won't be so nice. 

- which brings u to a serious dilemma: how will he ask u out ? or does he expect u to do it ? and ur nervous af bc he's amazing and ur a bit worried that ur not on his level but lance reminds u that he called u even when he wasn't obligated to and points out how shiro hangs back to talk to u which helps u feel a bit better 

- but right before ur gonna like super freak he comes in, not sweaty but like dressed rlly nice (and oh fuck, that nearly kills u bc he looks even better if that was even possible), and he orders his drink and talks to u but when things pick up he kinda sits at a table and casually hangs out. shiro goes on his phone, sometimes watches u make a drink and just generally hangs out. 

- side note: he's def like put thought into the outfit. he's got nice jeans and a button-up, with the sleeves rolled up which rlly hug his arms and show how strong he is. his hair is a little messy but the good kind, and he smells so good. he's def made an effort which kinda confuses u but ur also too busy drooling over how good he looks to seriously consider the implications

- it gets super empty around 9:30-ish and ya'll have to gear up to close at 11. eventually lance tells u to go 'clean tables' and talk to shiro a bit- ur p sure he’s up to smthn bc he has the same smirk he wears when he’s abt to beat u at one of the games ya'll play- so u wipe the dirty ones down before sitting at the little table where shiro is hanging out. 

- ya'll start talking and at one point the conversation falls into comfortable silence, just kinda watching the few cars go by, before he turns to u and gets ur attention 

- he tells u abt how when he first came in and he thought u were rlly cute, he comments on ur smile and how helpful u were. how he honestly wasn't a fan of the tea u suggested but he didn't wanna hurt your feelings so he drank it. he says he came back bc u were so sweet and he was instantly smitten. shiro tells u he's surprised u weren't annoyed by him taking up all ur time after u had made his drink and even tho u try to stop him he kinda shakes his head, gives u a small smile, and keeps going. i mean, shiro is here being rlly sweet and then he says he rlly likes u and he couldn't figure out a better way to ask u but he wants to take u on a real date, maybe not at a cafe tho lmao

- so ur kinda shocked but he doesn't pressure u, he says it's a choice u have to make and that he doesn't need an answer right away- even if u decide not to, he's 100% okay with it and when u realize shiro thinks there's even the slightest chance u'd reject him u shake ur head rlly aggressively

- obvi u tell him u wanna go on a date with him and he gives u this warm smile and then asks u abt something arbitrary, easing the conversation into smthn different and easier

- lance lets u guys talk for as long as they can before he actually needs ur help to close up. shiro apologizes a bunch but lance brushes it off. shiro promises to call u and leaves. 

- lance whispers "u owe me for helping u get dick" before ya'll part ways and u honestly can't even be that embarrassed bc the butterflies haven't gone away for a second

- he calls u to say goodnight and make sure u got home okay ofc

AND ALSO!! i love those cute slice of life ones like barakamon, tanaka-kun wa itsumo kedaruge, kyoukai no kanata and hyouka!! i’m always watching new anime but i also rewatch most of the animes i’ve watched, some that i really like to rewatch (besides the ones i’ve already said, that i have rewatched a few times lmao) are karneval, yamada-kun to nananin no majo and servamp! they all only have one season of 12 eps and they’re rlly easy to watch, that’s why i watch them a lot lmao
