Smosh fans don’t know how to let anything go (derogatory and simultaneously non derogatory but in this particular case derogatory)

I’m so done with people “still thinking the marriage is fake” or spamming in comments begging for an answer if it’s real or not. Also shayne and Courtney are human beings not everything they do is owned by smosh and secretly a sketch or something like they have a life, stop asking smosh to confirm it.

Shayne and Court are gonna be fine without me defending them I’ve just seen too many of these comments and they got old April 2 so im annoyed.

Also on another note I actually really dislike the “Angela went to a performing arts school” jokes because they always actually are jokes about her dyslexia. Those sorts of jokes have a completely different vibe when it’s from fans who are strangers vs people who know her. It just leaves a bad taste in my mouth it’s not funny anymore.

Jokes in general about someone being “stupid” can get to me cause I’ve seen how they can wear on people. I feel like that kind of thing can be tricky to get right without it straight up being insulting and ableist. most smosh commenters aren’t that clever.

but wHAT WAS THE REASON????

What was the reason for hiding the relationship this whole time? Why not share the news when they got engaged? Why not before that even?

Why did courtney say all that about not dating a co-worker? WHY DID THEY HIDE ITTT?? Like they don’t owe us their entire relationship but i dont get why they wouldnt just say “yeah we’re together but dont wanna be public about it” and just set a boundary. Why would they instead let the fandom run loose with it and cause chaos? Like them being a couple or not has been the divider of the fandom FOR YEARS!

The shourtney compilations™️ speak for thenselves with people calling each other out for shipping real-life people, for hating on others, for not respecting boundaries, for not just letting people have fun, and just about everything else. Ive been so exhausted by the discourse surrounding this subject that I’ve actively distanced myself from the fandom outside of a few youtube channels.

And I’ve never been a shourtney shipper bc i just dont see it, so its perhaps just a me-problem but wtf… wouldn’t we see them be flirtatious on the regular? Like I’m not kidding, I genuinely feel we see more small moments between shayne and angela than shayne and courtney. So if they are legitimately a couple and have been for a wHILE? Why dont they seem like one? As far as I’m aware we haven’t even seen shayne with her cats! Idk i feel like we wouldve seen more so-called ‘proof’ lol

You are welcome i felt like someone had to do it. That's so sad that there's people out there that hateful that classist, homophobic and transphobic so openly and they get away with it? It is NOT hard to become kind. It really is not. This can be a joke but it's not gonna erase the fact that people were being so mean to Courtney on a special day like this. Doesn't care about their identity and fuckin erase it. Court can date a man, marry a man and they're still queer. This is not a heterosexual marriage and they're not getting that much support because of that. I have seen so many mean comments since yesterday. Even in the Smoshcord where Court is in and can see what they're saying. That is just sad. You can't be that rude to people just because it doesn't fit your narrative. That's just distasteful.

I stopped responding cause they're clearly not understanding their words and their impact and they're definitely not aware of what they're saying. And they're being very racist and transphobic while they're "defending" themselves. I think the reason there's consistently been generations of minecraft youtuber groups (yogscast, team crafted, stampylonghead, dreamsmp, hermitcraft, qsmp, etc), just youtuber groups in general (sidemen, lunch club, the eboys, offlineTV, distractible/three peens in a pod, trash taste, etc), or even duos (smosh, game grumps, good mythical morning, chuckle sandwich, dan and phil, etc) is bcuz people crave that sense of community, that connection, between friends. they consistently spend time together since making videos are their literal careers and are usually always having a great time cuz it needs to be entertaining. craving that kind of strong and consistent type of relationship to drown out the loneliness and living vicariously through these content creators and their friend groups
