if you are looking for someone who will listen and give practical advice without dismissing your feelings or concerns, honestly he is the one. especially as a boyfriend, you can trust him to be the one who will sit beside you on the sofa while wrapping you in the blanket. will ask you what you want to eat and the moment you decide to fight the cold hard life back, don’t worry, your isagi yoichi will be your #1 supporter! especially if you guys have spent more time in the relationship, he really is good at balancing giving comfort while still giving you trust to walk on your own. though he sometimes couldn’t 100% understand your point of view, but the sincerity in his effort to be always there for you is no joke. he promised every part of him he could give to you and he means every word of it.

if you don’t cry, at best he will be an awkward listener—but a good listener nonetheless. if you cry, though, honestly he will panic. this guy is already not good with his own emotions, so you need to be clear about what you want with him. he is not the best with words though, and advice he offers is usually either “let me just fix this for you” or a straight up detached, objective one that is better offered to someone with a cool head and controlled emotion. therefore, more often than not, he opts to just listen and hold your hand. he will try to help, though, and if he can’t—at the very least you will get a really menacing guard dog who won’t let anyone mess with you while you are trying to get up. (also, go tell him to buy something. his credit card is ready and feeling like he is doing something for you is good for the both of you.)

itoshi gene is harsh and he is somehow worse than his brother in this scenario. he is a naturally critical person towards anything. if you are ready to get your fault pointed out and think up a “what can i do to make this better or avoid this from happening again” go to him, but if you are looking for someone who will listen or give validation, as much as you love him, don’t. him and a terrible headspace is not a good combination. however, a direct “can you hug me?” or a “can you do something for me?” is not completely out of the question—he, after all, still cares about you. high chance he won’t ask, especially if you said you don’t want to say anything, but in this situation the softer part of him who has a hard time saying no to you truly comes out. a movie night, even if it involves the goddamned fries, would happen. he is smart enough to know when to spoil you, especially since he knows your habits and tendencies by heart.

the sort of person who sees a hint of gloom on your face and immediately cradles it with a tenderness that no one would expect from someone with his build. he is a good, caring person by nature, if you are looking for someone to help you, he is the best choice. he can be clumsy sometimes and the words he gives to cheer you up have a high chance of being uttered with a lot of pauses in the middle—but the way he acts will probably be enough to bring a smile to your face again (and he will also smile along with you when this happen because by god you are his happiness). all those aside, high chance he can’t give advice, but he will give you top-notch cheering up—words, actions, cuddles, everything—along with genuine validation. (especially after wild card, he has seen hell. “feeling terrible” is something he understands a lot.)

for this one i won’t sugarcoat it: jesus christ. why. is there no one else?

jokes aside, as i love to bully him a bit here, objectively—this really depends on the sort of type of person you are. if you are looking for advice or validation or a listener—not him. but if you are the sort of person who prefers a distraction or the “tough love” sort of motivation that is more scathing and heartless—borderline degrading—he is the one. out of spite, his words are probably enough to spur you into action, forgetting whatever blue feeling you have as it has turned into a red raging anger. however, a little note, believe it or not, this actually comes from a caring place in his heart. kaiser is someone with many, many harsh edges—and this comes more from “i rather see you angry and living than seeing you down without me being able to do anything” root that he rather die than say out loud.

the best you could get is a passive listener. worse you can get is a passive listener who still plays games. the worst you can get is that one scene where isagi has a legitimate concern and gets his hair pulled by this guy. another one who is better to have as a company in seeking distraction for the time than anything. but, despite how admittedly terrible he is in cheering you up with words, he truly makes it up by action when it finally hits him how down and different you are. it will take a few hours or a few days, but he will get there. afterward, expect many small sweet gestures ranging from cute gifts, your favorite snacks, et cetera. your chatroom with him will too suddenly get noisy with many cute stickers and “u ok? :x” for at least a few weeks. (also he is shameless enough to ask out loud to his teammates about what should he do with you when he realizes how stuck he is. so hey. there is that: possible extra brains if you need a solution.)

common knowledge that he never shies away from using that money of his when he needs to and this is one of those situations where he genuinely considers taking you away for a trip so you can feel better near a sunny beach or a peaceful lake—you pick. if you don’t want that, however, this guy is still the best when it comes to understanding you and will be there until you give him a smile. what else do you expect from someone with a complete set of love languages? do watch out though, he is also someone who could get angry pretty quickly, especially when it involves something or someone he cares about—and this time it’s you. on a brighter note, though, this means if you are looking for someone to shit talk with, he is the one. he is a smart caring boyfriend, so talking with him during this time will do a lot of good to you. a good advice along with good validation.

• Ok so first off………. THE OPENING SCENE??????????? Oh my god there’s S O MUCH TO TALK ABT. Yes Luis dancing is hot as SHIT but also???????? • Edit: also the parallels between Luis calling himself Ada’s ‘Good Samaritan’ and Leon his Sancho like AAAAAAAAAA???? You could pick apart the meaning and argue abt how good samaritans are usually friends and Sancho is a code word for Gay Lover in a lot of old fashioned Spanish bars like how ‘friends of Dorothy’ was but ANSNWUENDUNXXUNDDHXN SHUT UP I can’t rn

•Also I’m SURE you could pull some symbolism from the bugs and from Luis having an apothecary as catholic self-exorcism and how ‘science is the roof of all evil’ and Luis is using it to help others etc etc etc……….

Also if anyone else finds anything abt luis lore wise like how you have to find a picture of his grandfather or of him with Umbrella in the original PLEEEEAAAAASSSWE SHOW ME I NEED MORE LUIS BACKSTORY I NEED IT IN MY VEINS

getting out of bed is always the hardest part of the day.

word count: 1.4k (ish)

warnings: fluff without smut, bickering but they love each other, possibly my only fic where ppl dont say they love each other verbally tho, play fighting + tickling, kissing

a/n: hi! i'm once again writing things ppl haven't asked for instead of writing the things i said i would write lol, this fic is valid tho bc there isn't enough abby fluff and someone had to do something abt it. next fic will either be an ellie req fill bc i have a bunch of those or an arcane fic bc i'm working on two of them rn <3

it isn’t the shrill ringing of your alarm that breaks you out of your slumber, instead it’s abby leaning over you to turn it off, her sleepy grumbling about how it’s a waste of fucking batteries and how you’re a grown woman you should be able to wake yourself up like everyone else causing a smile to tug at your lips. she slumps down on top of you when she’s managed to switch it off, she’d actually hit the button this time instead of throwing the clock across the room and hoping the wall would take care of it, so you reward her with a blind kiss in the general direction of her face, still too tired to open your eyes and aim with any accuracy.

“kisses aren’t gonna make up for waking me up like that,” she huffs, though she presses her face into your neck and lets her weight settle on top of you. she’s heavy but it's a weight you’re used to and it’s especially nice on mornings like this, when you’re stuck at the fob without any of the comforts of your own bed back at the stadium and even two pairs of socks aren’t able to keep the chill from creeping in.

“you’re warm,” you mumble against the top of her head, your voice thick with sleep, it’s far too early to engage in the alarm clock argument, no matter how lighthearted it is. you wrap your arms around her shoulders and your legs around her waist, clinging onto her though there’s not much danger she’s going to move as she only relaxes against you more. she stifles a yawn against your shoulder and presses her cheek against your skin, sighing happily when you tug out her ponytail so you can card your fingers through her hair.

“whatever,” she mutters, though there’s no heat behind her words, it’s hard to believe she’s mad at you when she’s tilting her head into your touch and petting your hip with one of her hands. you can’t hear any birds outside and when you crack one of your heavy eyelids open it’s still dark enough in the room that you can’t see much at all. it makes you want to roll over and fall back asleep, but you know nora’s threat to force you to scrub the stains out of everyone's scrubs if you’re late again is very credible.

“if we’re out of bed in ten minutes we’ll get first pick of breakfast,” you say softly, not wanting to break the comfortable silence in the room, you force your other eye open and try to blink the sleep away, resting your cheek against abby’s forehead. the base is still quiet outside, the only people who are moving around at this time are people retiring from night shifts. not many people are able to pull themselves from bed without the promise of food or demands of work, you don’t blame them.

“it’s gonna be the same shit as yesterday, we don’t need to get up early for that,” abby groans, shifting your body around until she can slip an arm under you and hold you against her. she really is like a heater, her arm is warm and strong around you and she slips her other hand under your shirt, splaying her fingers over your ribs and stroking the side of one of your breasts with her thumb.

“they had fried eggs yesterday though, that beats the stuff they were giving us before,” you reply as you wiggle closer to her, trying to avoid the chill of the room reaching the skin she’s exposed by pushing your shirt up. abby’s hands are familiar on your chest, she likes touching your breasts when you cuddle, pressing her hands up against your ribs where she can feel your heartbeat and feel each of your steady breaths. you’ve never asked why exactly, but you can guess it’s her way of reassuring herself that you’re there and whole and alive, that it’s a result of all the people she’s lost.

“stop being positive, i’m trying to be mad,” she sighs, you can feel the way her brows have been tugged into a frown and you laugh, reaching down to guide her face away from your neck. you cup her cheek when she’s looking down at you and use one of your hands to smooth out the wrinkle between her brows, trailing your fingertips over her jaw when she’s let her expression relax. her hair falls down over her shoulders and tickles your skin where the wide neck of the shirt you sleep in leaves it exposed, it’s slightly wavy from being braided and you curl a lock of it around your fingers and tug gently.

“you’re so pretty,” you tell her, leaning up to kiss her in the general direction of her lips, you’re pretty sure you kiss more of her chin than her mouth but you can feel her smile a little so you count it as a success.

“you can barely see me,” abby chuckles, leaning down and pressing a much more accurate kiss to your cheek, “besides, you’re the pretty one,” she hums, kissing the corner of your mouth. she shifts her weight to one arm, pulling her hand out of your shirt so she can brush her hair over one shoulder, her bicep flexes by your head and you turn so you can kiss the bulge of the muscle.

“no, you,” you reply, laughing again when abby throws her head back with a groan and sits up so she can look down at you, her brows furrowed again. your legs fall open around her hips and she rests her hands on your knees, brushing her thumbs over the soft, well worn material of your sweats, her touch gentle though her eyes are narrowed at you.

“you’re just trying to irritate me, huh?,” she asks, squeezing your knees when you only respond with a laugh and prod her back with your heel, you can hear a smile in her voice so you nudge her ass with your heel again, “stop it or i’ll get up and take the duvet with me,” she warns, shifting her hands to hold your hips and scooting up the bed a little so she can lean down and look you in the eye. you hesitate, searching her eyes for a moment to decide how serious you think she is before you bend your knee and use your toes to poke her thigh.

she stares down at you for a second before she shakes her head fondly and leans down to kiss the corner of your mouth. you think you’ve gotten away with it for a moment longer before she stands up and tugs the duvet from your scrambling hands, throwing it to the other side of the room and ignoring your complaints. you curl up in the warm spot left on the mattress and turn your back to her, tugging her pillow over your face when she turns the light on despite your continued whining.

“i warned you, drama queen,” she replies as she walks past the bed again, her hand darting out to grab your ankle when you attempt to kick her. you wiggle desperately when she begins to peel your socks off though your struggling doesn’t deter her and once she’s tossed both of your socks in the same direction as the duvet, she tickles the bottom of your foot until there’s tears gathering in your eyes, “c’mon, get up, if we’re quick we can still be first in line for eggs,” she tells you when she finally has mercy, you kick her gently in the thigh when she lets go of your ankle, only escaping a second round of tickling because you sit up faster than she can grab you.

“kiss first,” you hum, crawling to the edge of the mattress and kneeling up so your face is level with hers. you rest your hands on her shoulders and nudge your nose against hers before you kiss her, on the lips this time since she’d turned the light on and there’s no guesswork involved, “morning,” you mumble against her lips, smiling when she kisses you again.

“morning to you, too,” she whispers, she’s smiling when she removes her lips from yours and she nudges her nose against yours before she steps away to get dressed.

I feel like making a sappy post abt PJO rn so here we go!

As the hours go by, it gets clearer and clearer to me that soon, everything will change for the fan base of pjo. And no matter how hard I try to be excited, there is such a beautifully tragic feeling of sadness I get to think about it. About not knowing what will happen when that show comes out.

I never realized just how protective I was of Percy and his group until it was announced that filming had begun for season 1. When I saw Rick’s post, I felt light for a moment, and then a heavy feeling settled in my chest that I still cannot quite describe. The ironic part of all of this is the fact that it has been alarmingly long since I’ve sat to read these books. In fact, the last time I read The Lightning Thief, it was the first time.

It was quarantine, so the mood was already impossibly somber. But what made it such a unique experience for me was the fact that I had depression. My parents had just split which was earth shattering for me, a ten year old, and all I could think about 24/7 was the countless fights they had, their words ringing in my head like a gigantic bell that never did seem to stop. My grandmother (whose house my dad and I were staying in) and my father still had in person work at that point, so I was alone everyday, which gave me all the time in the world to ponder my emotion, or lack there of. I came close to doing unspeakable things, and eventually just stayed inside my room. I hardly ever came out, so hardly anyone physically saw me for a year. I never picked up phone calls, I ate meals in my room, and I spent the day sleeping so that when I woke up everyone in the house would be asleep and I wouldn’t have to talk to anyone.

I had completely lost my identity at that point, because since school was out, there was nothing to try at. All of my validation came from my academic performance, specifically my performance in reading. At this time, I really didn’t like to read at all. I just didn’t love it, my heart wasn’t in it, but I did it all the time because all of my classmates and teachers and both of my parents told me I had a gift, and that I was destined to do something with it. And so I read all the time, and it seemed like that was all I did. But now that there was no one encouraging me, I didn’t see a point.

Until one day when I was scrolling through a YouTube comments section, and one of the comments mentioned the name Percy Jackson, who I had never heard of before. I looked into the replies of that comment and there was just an endless amount of love there. These people who have never seen each other before all still seeming like a family in their own way, bonding over this book series. I remember wondering why I never had that, with all the books that I’ve read. And then next I remember thinking that I really did want it, and begged my dad to buy me the first Percy jackson book. I was very hesitant because I still didn’t care all that much about reading, but I thought that something about this series must be different, if all of these people can bond so much over it.

So I started reading it, and after a couple of chapters, I gave up on it. Because I didn’t understand what was happening, and I didn’t want to. I thought that the group of people I saw were weird for liking such a boring book. And I didn’t pick it up again for about two more month, when my depression was at an all time low. There was hardly anything in my mind except that loud bell, and I was desperate to make it go away. There wasn’t anything to do, and I felt like this really was the end for me, that life was always going to be this never ending storm of awful feelings, and I would be lonely forever.

So I did the only thing I thought I was good at, and I read. I sat there for a solid 3 hours and read that book without putting it down and it was the best thing that had ever happened to me, because I actually loved it. These characters felt personal to me, I felt like I had known them my whole life. I feel like it was also the first time I had laughed in a while.

Percy Jackson showed me that reading didn’t have to be something I did for the approval of others, but it could be amazing. I kept purchasing the series as it went, and by the time it was over, School had started again, and I talked to people every day. My life felt like there was at least a little bit of normalcy to it, and while the bells never really did stop ringing, I now had a whole fandom I could talk and relate with about these books and about life in general. PJO was always like a buoy in the storm for me at that time, and eventually, I read more books. Books that I loved this time. And instead of reading for the approval of others, I read because I didn’t want to do anything else.

Eventually with all of these new books, I fell out of the fandom for the most part, but Percy was always there in the back of my mind. So how odd it feels now, to feel like I am about to cry at the thought that a whole new generation of fans is about to storm in, and we will all be there with open arms. Maybe there is a little girl out there right now feeling what I felt, and this show will be there to be her anchor. Maybe these characters will be there to show her what the world could not.

I feel like I sounds silly and over dramatic and maybe I do, but it is all true. This series changed my life in the best of ways, and for that I will always be protective of it.

Even so, I know that we have deserved a true adaptation, the world deserves to see Percy Jackson as it truly is. And even with my fear and my sadness to see this era go, I am so unbelievably excited to see what happens next. So excited to watch and rewatch these episodes with y’all until I can’t see straight. So excited to hear what people think of it. I think big things are coming. Good luck Leah, Walker, and Aryan. Good luck to every other actor and every set worker and good luck to Uncle Rick, because with this chaotically beautiful mess of a fandom, you will definitely need it.

3 JOKERS SPOILERS !

tldr; i ramble a little abt how i hate modern Jason fucking Todd and highlight how much justice this comic did for him

and how modern writers are just trying to turn him into a batfam insert of deadpool

Yes! I dont think Jason had 100% feelings for Babs, like he said, he thought it could work. It definitely came from a moment of weakness/vulnerability, its often that Jason doesn’t get cared for too often, not in the way he needs. So when Babs let out a hand for him, it hit him HARD. Especially with just being traumatized by the last two jokers, I think its pretty obvious he doesn’t need someone to clean up/watch after him but like need someone to generally emotionally guide him.

my personal pet peeve with most modern Jason Todd canon ships is the laziness of it(b4 i get criticized i think ANY ship with ANY CHARACTERS can be good as long as the writings GOOD and makes SENSE) . GOD NO- i dont ship jason and babs, but they still put an odd amount of effort into it, to at the very least actually flesh out their characters.

Jason doesn’t need a character that fixes his mistakes when he’s overly impulsive, or babies him, or fixes his mistakes with a veil of ‘Your so dumb but i secretly care about you!‘ because then it leads to most of lazy writing where he does something stupid but his gf is here to fix it! so its ok! NO!! HES NOT LEARNING ANYTHING!! YOURE MAKING HIM LOOK STUPID AND MENTALLY BRAIN DEAD!! anyways sorry.

Jason needs someone to break him out of his cycle of impulsiveness and self-destruction, not have him indulge in it.Jason needs to go fucking soul-searching or something im so tired of his ass— REALISTICALLY I COULDN’T DATE COMIC!JASON IF HE DIDNT CHANGE,, HE WOULD FRUSTRATE ME RLLY BAD.

ahem. anyways. I think Jasons note shows a lot about his character and something that the modern writers ignore a lot. Jason CAN change, he just needs a reason, a solid reason to. He doesn’t have to put down his code, or the guns, he just needs someone solid to really make him think about himself. “All I need is one chance to you I can be better. And I will devote my life to making you proud. Happy. Loved.” WHERE IS THIS SWEETHEART RN?? I SWEAR EVERY OTHER WRITER IS MAKING HIM A EMO FUCK-BOY WHOS BRAIN MATTER GOT SUCKED OUT THROUGH HIS COCK?? ahem sorry.

I really love how much DC actually puts details into Jason in this comic. Ex. Jasons helmets abilities being highlighted, “Helmets registering multiple security doors opening across the facility.” OR him saying the chronic pain management book was helpful. SORRY— I REALLY ENJOY DETAILS LIKE THIS. It just makes Jasons technical skill and such more obvious then whats normally stated. Also Jason tracking sea water off a wrench to the Aquarium— where is this skill in more modern comics?? I swear they make Jason a braindead wannabe deadpool sometimes i swear to fucking god.
