summary; when you, a waitress at the local coffee shop, are paired up with the new recruit scaramouche, you’re pretty sure both of you are going to get fired within a week. he’s just quit being a social media influencer and after being forced to work here to make ends meet, he’s ready to let everyone there know how much he hates it. the worst part? you can’t shake the feeling that you know him from somewhere. but as he slowly warms up to you, scaramouche realises that having a fresh start isn’t that bad after all, and perhaps the two of you meeting like this was pure serendipity.

You weren’t sure how the man ended up in your living room, but as you looked down at him and to the detective in front of you, you couldn’t help but snicker.

“What?” Sherlock sighed.

“You guys look alike.”

“No we don’t. I would never dress up in such ridiculous clothing.”

Sherlock grabbed his jacket and tossed it on before he went towards the door.

“Do whatever with him.”

“Sherlock don’t leave her alone with him!” John hissed.

“Then you stay.”

With that, Sherlock left and John dragged you away from the weird man.

John made you sit in the couch, and he stood in front of you, wondering what he was supposed to do.

“Maybe pour some water on his face?” Mrs Hudson asked.

“Could work.” You nodded.

Mrs Hudson scurried off and came back with a glass of water and handed it to John then stood behind him.

“What?! I’m not doing it!”

“Well I’m most certainly not.” Mrs Hudson huffed.

“What if he attacks me?!”

“Relax, I have no plans of attacking anyone.”

In a panic, John tossed water all over the stranger who looked at him in disbelief.

“Seriously?”

“Sorry.”

The man stood up, and dried his face with his sleeve before sorting out his clothes and his hair before looking at you all.

“I don’t mean to intrude, I have no idea how I got here.”

“You fell. From the ceiling.” You replied.

He started mumbling to himself and you shared a look with the other two.

You guys didn’t know what to do, so you just stood there and watched him.

“Can we at least know your name?” John asked.

“Sorry, where are my manners. Stephen strange.”

You all introduced yourselves to him and you all sat down.

“I must have messed up somewhere along the lines when trying to fix everything.” He mumbled.

“What the hell are you on about?” John asked.

Stephen then started to explain a bunch of different things none of you understood.

When he was done you all looked at him blankly like he had gone mad.

“I’ll call Lestrade.” John sighed.

He got up and grabbed his phone and walked out while you stared at the man.

He did look eerily like Sherlock, and you knew it was impossible for the genius to have a twin.

“Show us.”

“Excuse me.”

“Show us this so called magic, and we’ll believe it.”

“Fine.”

He showed you something, and a bright Orange circle appeared around him. It looked like some sort of shield, and he quickly put it down.

“Okay, he may be telling the truth.” You whispered.

“Maybe.” Mrs Hudson nodded.

The whole evening was spent trying to figure out what to do with the man, and finally you all settled for giving him the flat downstairs until you could figure out what to do with him.

Sherlock hated him, but you were curious so you spent most of your days with him asking questions and getting him to show you things.

Sitting on his couch, you looked as he read.

“So, tell me about what it is you do.” Stephen asked.

“Well, I’m a detective. I work with Lestrade, who you met when you first came. Currently I’m on suspension though.”

Stephen put his book down and rose a brow at you.

“And why is that?“ he asked.

“Sherlock hijacked one of my cases. He wasn’t supposed to be on it because it was a high profile case but he did anyways. So I got suspended for a month without pay.”

“Well, he certainly doesn’t seem like a good friend.”

You sighed and gave a small shrug.

“He’s… different. That’s for sure.” You smiled.

“Then why are you friends with him?”

“Sherlock may make things difficult sometimes, and he may be hard to get along with and understand. But… he’s a good person deep down, sometimes he just doesn’t realise that what he does affects people, and normal humans have feelings…”

Stephen regarded you for a moment.

“You love him.”

“I… yeah. But he doesn’t know, or feel the same.”

Stephen smiled softly at you.

“You are a kind person, anyone who doesn’t love you back would be a fool.”

You beamed brightly at him.

“Thank you.”

With that you jumped up and said bye as you went to go make something to eat.

Stephen watched you leave before pulling a picture out of his pocket.

He stared at it with sadness.

It was you.

His version of you, from his universe.

He didn’t have the chance to tell you how he felt, but to see you so hung up about someone who didn’t feel the same about you hurt him.

Because you deserved nothing but love and kindness and he wishes he could give that to you

ok so i only got into asoue a few months back but scrolling through ur blog is so interesting, mostly because like. what are you SEEING in the denouements. not in a mean way, in a “they got basically nothing in canon and i am very curious as to what’s going on in your head” way. i would love to know how you perceive them

don’t get me wrong i understand getting attached to minor characters more as much as the next autism riddled person but again i am very curious

Before we begin, I'm actually not autistic, so you can't use that as an explanation. I've been tested a lot through my life, due to other mental illnesses, and I always score so low it's almost uncanny. Hyper-fixating on nerd stuff is my One Thing that gives me points in tests, but that's it. So no, that's not the reason I like minor characters.

Ignoring the fact that this actually feels like a weird thing to have to explain at all, I'm gonna go ahead and answer anyway:

I have no idea. As in I don't know what happened initially, but I have a couple of theories. Firstly, I'm a whole ass Adult. Like, mid-thirties at this point. That means I'm more or less uninterested in creating content about the kids, because I do dick jokes and write smut and I don't personally feel like combining those with young characters. The Sugar Bowl Generation is where it's at for me. And if you've been around the fandom for a bit, you will have noticed that people who are into the SBG have to do quite a lot of legwork to keep ourselves stimulated. Our enclosure is pretty low on natural enrichment tbh.

That means you have to create your own fun. A puppy that's been left at home too long will inevitably start chewing on the furniture. A fangirl (gender neutral) will start conjuring up elaborate headcanons and characterizations and theories and dynamics from more-or-less thin air. It's the way of the world. Remember how Mystrade was a huge thing in the Sherlock fandom, despite them never interacting in canon? Yeah, it's a bit like that. There's a certain freedom to be found in it.

Only we do have some crumbs! Just spend half an hour at @snicketsleuth, and see how much you can string together from them. That's a very mixed metaphor, sorry. But my point stands.

The Denouements are a pretty niche focus, I'll give you that. However, what we have is so interesting to me. Like, the fucking Spotter's Guide that @lyeekha made actually goes a long way to explain my initial infatuation. I love some deceit and mystery that can be unravelled by careful observation of micro expressions, you know? It's very satisfying.

And I just love them, you know? I can't explain it better than that. I'd drop in the fact that I'm very physically attracted to Max Greenfield in the role(s), but I'm pretty sure that's obvious. And it doesn't matter nearly as much as my fascination with the essence of the characters that I've so carefully cobbled together from scraps I found on the trash heap of canon (how's that for a metaphor though?)

i don't even remember when i first started writing lol but uh, i think it was during preschool. when i was a child my dad's job used to end at 5 and my school at 3 so i was often in the playground alone with the other teachers after all the kids had been picked up. i think it began with like little children's story books she used to bring and we'd read them on the fake grass together lol. i remember getting pretty attached to an english teacher so in an effort to make her proud i began writing poems which eventually turned into writing stories and well.. yeah. you get the gist.

as for how i got into mtp, a friend of mine actually recommended it to me because she thought the characters were really hot and she wanted someone to share her obsessions with lol. but at that time i wasn't really into anime and I'd put off watching the show for the longest of times before she had enough and whacked me LMAOAO 😭 i was a lil pushover but i didn't really mind so i watched it once i got home

and about the blog, i had.. a wattpad.. account.. it's so fucking embarrassing holy shit but i used to read all kinds of hp and mtp fanfictions there and i thought it was really cool so i did it for a while there before moving onto tumblr.

Why I could not watch Elementary

When I first came across the show, the idea of a fem!John Watson (named Joan in the series) deeply intrigued me. But then I got to know that Joan Watson was not an army doctor. This bummed me out. To me, it seems like they have removed one of the most curious aspects of John Watson's personality- the dichotomy of being both a warrior and a healer. These two contrasting traits are what makes John so interesting. Nevertheless, I started the show and while I was impressed by the acting and the plot, the start of the Watson-Holmes dynamic was greatly varied. Rather than meeting and becoming friends with Sherlock on her own violation (as in almost every other variation), Joan Watson sticks around him because it's her job. This ruined the Watson-Holmes dynamic for me. I have to admit that I always been a sucker for John seeing this eccentric man and just going 'yeah that's my kinda guy'. While some of this was reflected in the series (and maybe had been shown later on idk) I just couldn't get sucked into the friendship/relationship between Joan and Sherlock. The choice to deviate from the usual "John meeting and sorta adopting Sherlock from the moment he lays eyes on him and vice-versa" was an interesting choice but one that did not ultimately appeal to me and caused me to stop watching it mid season 1. Maybe one day I will watch the show because it seems like a great representation of aro/ace friendships/relationships.

HSHDHSHSHDHSHSHDHSHA HIII!! I'M SO GLAD U ASKED!!! it's my favourite stupid fact to tell ppl. anyway it's more like my nose got addicted i guess.... you're only supposed to use a nose spray for a week MAX (this goes for majority of them) and i used it. every day. for. like four months😁😁😁😁😁

my excuse at first was just that the air at school was sooo stuffy bc it was cold outside and the radiators were maxed out and i just could not breathe properly. so – i started using the spray and it helped!!! (yeah no shit sherlock) but then i started using it more and more, more frequently than you should and again, my excuse was just that i couldn't fucking focus if i can't breathe😒😒😒

in the end i literally started acting like it was my only lifeline lmao pls it's soop funny to think back on. my dad and my friend were like "yeah bro you should quit it's really not healthy" and i just went "😱😱YOU HATE ME?? YOU WANT ME TO DIE??? I CAN'T BREATHE WITHOUT IT WHAT DO YOU MEAN I SHOULD QUIT????" and i was. serious too. it was so ridiculous. took them a good minute to actuslly convince me that it was in fact bad ++ the spring came along and i got my fresh air so i did get a bit better.

and by a bit better i mean that i now have a PRESCRIPTION NOSE SPRAY💀💀💀 the first thing my doctor told me was "you can't get addicted to this one😁" lmaoo she was funny

yeah he basically built his career doing "deconstruction" videos of rwby after its third season on why it's bad like he recently did a hours long video about it "flaws" after its most recent season one of which being the fact that it has a slowburn wlw couple between two main characters 🙄 its his videos that turn people away from trying the series for themselves and he's a big reason for a lot that fandom's tags vitriol as (at least imo as someone who's been a fan since the start)

So I went to check on his channel cus this got me curious.

Idk if we’re talking about the same guy? Cus his most popular videos aren’t about RWBY at all and on his channel he still only has one RWBY video up.

Several of his most popular videos are much older than the RWBY one too so I kinda doubt that criticizing RWBY is what made him “famous”. It’s more plausible to say it was the Sherlock one cus that one has 11 million views but he never posted another Sherlock video on his channel ever since.

Like, his latest video is apparently about Roblox and it’s quite a bit more popular than his RWBY one too. Same with his Deus Ex Machina vid (right under the Roblox one) so again, it really doesn’t look like RWBY features much in his channel.

Unless he has an extra channel I don’t know about that’s all about complaining about RWBY?

Hey, guess what. It's time to recap what I've read today! And it was quite a bit of reading time, reaching 7 ½ hours. Not bad, if I do say so myself. I've reached chapter 373 now.

Basically, Klein successfully provided wonderful support to Sharron and Maric, being a wonderful magician. With that, he got that Book of Secrets, which helped him in various endeavors already, even if it was freshly acquired.

Klein also helped that Mother Earth Sequence 5 Dawn Paladin, Father Utravsky to defeat his "dark side" heh. In the process, he gained the Master Key- wait, I think I read about this yesterday... regardless! It has connection to what I've read today! Due to this side quest, he was able to easily complete another side quest! The disappearance of Emlyn White.

That was hilarious lmao I love this duo surprisingly much, they're just so fun. Emlyn's brand of good-natured arrogance is hilarious paired with Klein's "idgaf" attitude with him bahahah it was a fun chapter.

Oh yeah, Detective Sherlock Moriarty is earning quite a name for himself! I love reading how he's earning bank fr fr. Let the man be rich! Let him enjoy the delicacies of life! It's satisfying, alright?

And of course, what I consider the most significant part of today's reading... the first appearance of Amon.

See, to gain a decent amount of motivation to start this long ass novel, I needed a bit of incentive, a guarantee that I won't be bored to death in the middle, trying to get to the end. And that was gained by accidentally finding some spoilers. Not enough to ruin plot twists, but enough to keep me guessing and intrigued.

This way, I'm aware that Amon is an... Important character, but I don't really know anything specific about him. Just that he's the antagonist. Yay!

(Also he's scary. But he has potential to be silly as well, so I will definitely be entertained by him)

Right, so Amon. And the suspicions of the council of the City of Silver. Little Sun be going through it rn. The elders are misunderstanding Derrick’s involvement with The Fool and taking it to mean as his involvement with Amon. Kinda awkward ngl.

Mhm, what else, what else...

Oh yeah! LEONARD! MY BOY! I missed him. But he has a Parasite?? That's his deal? Interesting. I'm curious where that will lead him.

Audrey is great and awesome, Susie is adorable, Derrick is innocent, Alger is ambitious and kinda silly sometimes, Fors is Doing Her Best, Stuart is Sherlock Moriarty's new fan, Jurgen is a reliable fellow, Brody the cat might be more perceptive than initially assumed but that could just be paranoia, Amon is Scary and Praise the Fool, thank you.

I miss Melissa and Benson... the Nighhawks squad... the times when Klein didn't have to worry about revenge against a Sequence 5 mf. Of course, I greatly enjoy the story right now. I just get sentimental for Klein from time to time :')

It's Keiichiro's day off, the weather is beautiful, and he's so absorbed in reading that he doesn't realize anything's amiss until he hears a burst of giggling from a group of young women at the next table.

He looks up to see Kairi, in full top hat and tails, perched on the railing of the plaza fence, and nearly drops his book. "Ka--Lupin Red! What are you doing here? Actually, what are you doing out? It's the middle of the day."

Kairi taps the side of his mask and says, "Afternoon, Officer, you're looking handsome as always," to another round of scandalized giggles and several curious glances in Keiichiro's direction.

Keiichiro feels his face go hot. "As much as, as I appreciate that, Lupin Red, it's not an answer to my question."

"I know, but it's rude to just jump right into things, y'know? Anyway, got a hot tip for you and the other Patrangers. Little outside my whole phantom thief thing."

A long sigh. "You know I'll have to arrest you eventually, right?"

"Sure, but you'll have to catch me first." As if they weren't going to be going back to the same apartment at the end of the day--but then, it would hardly be a good idea to let the general public know that. "Although maybe I'll go quietly if you promise to handcuff me yourself."

More giggling. Keiichiro pinches the bridge of his nose. "Please get to the point."

"Sure, but you gotta come over here." Kairi beckons with one gloved hand, gesturing to a spot on the fence next to him. "I mean, I guess you don't have to sit on the fence, but I don't exactly want to shout this stuff."

Keiichiro sighs, puts a bookmark in his Sherlock Holmes collection, and stands up. "This had better be good."

At the fence, Kairi sweeps off his top hat with a flourish, which Keiichiro is willing to put down to his constant need for drama until he says, "Excuse me, ladies," to the table of gigglers, and uses the hat brim to shield them from view. At a much lower volume, he says, "I really don't want anyone to hear us, I have legit news."

Keiichiro frowns. "Kairi, what's going on? You're scaring me."

"First you gotta promise not to be mad."

"About...what?"

"So. Ok. I'm out like this during the day because a little bird let Tooma know that something that sounded like a Collection piece was gonna be changing hands over in the warehouse district this morning."

"What...kind of little bird?"

"What kinda question--I'm not telling you who, he's a source. Anyway, we dressed up for it because the family buying the Collection piece isn't, like, super nice, so we didn't just want our faces out there right off."

Keiichiro practically feels his eyes start to bug out of his head. "Kairi. You were out this morning robbing a Ya--" he glances to the side nervously, "one of the larger local groups?"

Kairi's mouth twists below his mask. "That was the plan, but it wasn't a Collection piece--"

"How could you tell tha--"

"--it was a kaijin smuggling operation."

Keiichiro starts to respond to that, freezes, thinks about it for a moment, and then says, very slowly, "A smuggling operation run by a kaijin, or smugglers transporting kaijin?"

"The second one. They're, uh, they're some kinda mad scientists or something, they're not Ganglars, it's kind of not what we do. I came straight here."

"...shit."

"Yeah, that's what I said. I would've just texted you but I didn't want you to think I'd gotten hurt or something."

Underneath his growing sense of urgency and alarm Keiichiro feels a little tickle of warmth. "Thank you, I appreciate that."

Kairi grins at him. "So I'll go, uh, write shit down for you, I guess? Details? But you might wanna let the others know."

"Sounds good." Keiichiro sighs heavily. "This was supposed to be my day off."

"Yeah, I know, I'm sorry." Finally, Kairi stops shielding their faces and puts his hat back on. "Anyway," louder again, "hope you get something out of that."

"We'll...we'll do our best." Keiichiro rubs at his temple. "And I guess I'll arrest you later."

"Sounds good." Kairi waves to the young womrn still clustered around their table, offering them a cheery, "Have a nice day, ladies," amid a chorus of giggles, and then pauses. "Oh, Officer, one last thing?"

Keiichiro, who was turning to go get his things from his table, turns back. "What is it now, Lupin Re--"

The hand grabbing the front of his shirt is a surprise, but not quite as much as the mouth pressed against his. Kairi's murmur of, "See you at home," is very nearly lost under the startled noises from the women at the next table and the ripples of surprise from other passersby. And then, of course, Kairi is gone, sailing off on his zip line in a flash of red.

"Dammit, Kairi," Keiichiro mutters under his breath as he goes to collect his things. After a moment's consideration he pulls out his phone. [if you surprise me like that again I am going to *spank* you]

MUTANT MAYHEM Stuff

I finally saw this big deal of an animated movie... As always, review is on Letterboxd.

Yes, I've heard that they got a sequel lined up already. Though with the writers and actors strike going on, I don't expect work to begin on it any time soon. This means, to me, that it'll be here in 2026 at the earliest, should these dingus CEOs keep it up in being dinguses. But all I know is, I'm ready for more!

It seems like Paramount Animation, after so many years of false starts, might have something going. Yes, it may be with a recognizable superhero-action comic book-based IP that's been adapted into movies **multiple** times... And I mean MULTIPLE... You have the early 1990s live-action movies, you have the 2007 animated movie (remember that?), you have the two Michael Bay-produced movies where the turtles look like tanks, and now this movie. In addition to what seems like a gazillion TV show adaptations going all the way back to the classic late '80s Saturday morning series.

So far, the $70m-costing movie has made about $100m worldwide. It admittedly hasn't had the greatest start. It even opened below MEG 2, which goes to show where the moviegoing public's priorities are at the moment, post-Barbenheimer. But I see a leggy run for this, similar to that of the first SPIDER-VERSE, which only opened with a fairly meager $35m. I guess most of the public made the 2014 TMNT movie open so big because live-action just a lot of audiences them a way in to such an outlandish concept. I remember some "Why is there a cartoon Spider-Man now?" reactions to SPIDER-VERSE Uno when that was coming out in 2018, especially after three big live-action iterations that came out back-to-back. It makes me curious to see how TRANSFORMERS: ONE opens next summer, if it does come out next summer that is.

Paramount Animation, if that's even a thing anymore (for that logo or name does not show up in the opening logo rollout), has a weird future ahead that seems very IP-reliant. They recently demoted UNDER THE BOARDWALK to a Paramount+ release, and it seems like book adaptation THE TIGER'S APPRENTICE is still on for a January release despite no trailers or images or any kind of promo being out there at the moment. Or for a while even, before the strike. Following that are things that have been done as big movies before: Transformers, The Smurfs, PAW Patrol, etc. We have plenty of 2D AVATAR: THE LAST AIRBENDER movies on the horizon, too, which is great! But at the same time, coupled with Paramount CEO Tim Robbins' recent comments on making original animation for theaters, this studio's slate is just... Franchises. Now, if these future entries do what MUTANT MAYHEM did, that's cool and all... But at the same time, new stories are always welcome, because when some franchises run out of juice... You'll need something new to start another one? I don't get Hollywood.

But yeah, this is looking to be Paramount Animation's first theatrical score in a while, after a slew of movies like SHERLOCK GNOMES and WONDER PARK and PAWS OF FURY: THE LEGEND OF HANK.

The other day, I watched sections of RANGO... One of my all-time favorites! Gore Verbinski's film through and through, weird as fuck throughout, it was released by Paramount all the way back in 2011, and despite not making back its budget theatrically, Paramount leadership were so impressed with the movie - and also upset that DreamWorks wasn't going to renew their distribution deal with them - that they founded Paramount Animation in 2012. Like, RANGO's the reason that all took off! And yet, I don't see Paramount greenlighting something like that today. Or most studios, for that matter. How did it even get greenlit in the mid-2000s is my question?? I feel like we're lucky to even have it. And that the thing managed to make over $100m domestically alone.

Anyways, I see MUTANT MAYHEM doing quite well for itself. They already have sequels and TV show lined up, so we shall what that entails. In the mean time, it's cool that we even got such a dynamic and neat new take on this property, in animated movie form. Another win for mainstream feature animation. And for interesting big budget studio cinema in general, really. Much like SPIDER-VERSE, BARBIE, GUARDIANS VOL. 3, and a few others, it shows that filmmaker-driven unique takes on classic properties are much more desirable than workmanlike network TV-lookin' franchise movies.

How many works do you have on AO3?

Okay so my Ao3 account is relatively new, I only got it in 2019 and started posting more regularly in 2020-21. I only have 12 on AO3 but I have written many more that I have not posted, and on my ancient, abandoned ff dot net account which will remain unnamed and unlinked I had posted around 30 I think? So many uncompleted and unposted or completed but not posted for one reason or another though lol.

What’s your total AO3 word count?

AO3 - 15,233. I tend to write short fics because any long writing I have the brain attention for ends up being my original fiction haha.

Because I was curious though I also did the math on my old ff dot net account and - 89,604. And I know there were 3 novel length fics I never got around to posting from back in the ff dot net days because I was going to post a chapter a week and then... forgot lol.

How many fandoms have you written for and what are they?

Oh boy. Um. So many. So the first book I started to write was a self-insert Scooby-Doo fanfic where I was a member of Mystery Inc. We were going to take on The Bubblegum Phantom, a phantom haunting a bubblegum factory. I wrote one and a half pages on yellow cardstock, and also drew a cover and back I was very proud of. I think it's still in a bin somewhere in my parent's house.

What’s the fic you’ve written with the angstiest ending?

I wrote SO MUCH angsty Sherlock fic back in the day... most angsty would be the one where I killed off John Watson. I made all my friends cry. I was not sorry.

What’s the fic you’ve written with the happiest ending? 

Most of what I write is short fic that tends to either be hurt/comfort, bittersweet or pure fluff so I’m finding this one harder to answer? I guess happiest ending would be the one where I did not kill off Ezra Bridger? XD Above mentioned Shot in the Dark.

Do you write crossovers? If so, what is the craziest one you’ve written? 

I had a full out Hunger Games x every other fandom I was in at the time where I - you guessed it - took two characters from each fandom and threw them into the Hunger Games. I never did finish it but I think that definitely wins for craziest. XD also did a bit of Wholock and though that's not crazy by tumblr standards I got super into obsessively making it fit with the timelines XD

Do you write smut? If so, what kind? 

maybe yeah but I’m not brave enough to share it

I have!! Mainly in RP format with a friend and then I edited it into a postable fic. (with the support and permission of the friend of course!!) This was back in the Sherlock days though and I am not sharing it lol.

What’s a WIP that you want to finish but don’t think you ever will?

so many (cries) Probably the above mentioned Everything I Ever Thought I Knew which was supposed to make the Dark Prince twist at the end of RTA Season 2 make more sense to me. I really enjoyed the bits I wrote, and for a while I was writing and posting it every morning on the bus on my way to work... but that was the beginning of March 2020 so.... stuff happened and killed my motivation streak and was in a super bad headspace for a while, and I honestly don't think I will ever go back to it which makes me :( </3

What are your writing strengths?

Dialogue, word choice, characterization/characters, emotion. I was once told by someone who reads my writing that I have a good instinct for wording and flow, and that I tend towards layered, emotionally vivid lines, like my content is higher than average per word count, and that has lived rent free in my brain as being one of the best compliments I have ever gotten.

What are your writing weaknesses?

Length. I under-write when it comes to my original fiction and in revision and rewriting have to build things up to an actual novel length, and when it comes to fics and short stories I write in spurts and bits and pieces scattered every where that have to then be reassembled into something that's an actual readable length and not a paragraph of dialogue I wrote in the notes section of my phone because I was thinking about my blorbos. Also setting the scene/describing locations and action is also hard for me.

What are your thoughts on writing dialogue in other languages in a fic?

If the characters speak multiple languages then it would be silly not to include it! I didn't use to have a preference whether it was in italics or not, but it was recently pointed out to me that can be rather "othering" and I think that's important to keep in mind. 

What was the first fandom you wrote for?

Well Scooby-Doo, as mentioned above XD but the first fandom I posted for was How to Train Your Dragon. I had a full three ring binder of my How to Train Your Dragon sequel series timelines, plots, outlines, character profiles, etc after the first movie and before even the first HTTYD show came out, long before the second or third movie XD

What’s your favorite fic you’ve written?

I... don't know?? I've been trying to think, but I don't think I can choose. I think they have all been what I needed in that moment of writing them. So I am going to be unhelpful and not answer this one lol.

  “Sherlock Holmes,”He shook the Detective Inspector’s hand,”Pleasure to meet you Lestrade.”

  “Likewise,” Greg turned and gestured for the ametur to follow him,”I saw how fast you figured out that last scene, let’s see if you can do it again.”

  Lestrade stood back and watched as the young man examined the body in front of them, Anderson was next to him,”You sure that this kid is a good idea?”

  “We’ll see,”to his surprise Sherlock stood up and closed the small compact magnifying glass,”What do ya got?”

  “I’ll spare the details that your forensics group would have already gotten,”He motioned to a spot on the body and started to rattle off a lot of facts that nobody had even begun to think of. His thoughts were detailed and precise, every fact leading into another and then some. Intricate pieces of information that literally nobody would think are important, but Sherlock made it sound like the most crucial part of the investigation,”Therefore the killer was the next door neighbour, might want to bring them in for questioning.”

  “Wait wait,”Greg had a baffled look on his face,”You got all that from a body?”

  “Yes, it’s not all that hard if you know what to look for.”

  “My team has never gone into that much detail, what’s your education Holmes?”

  “Doctorates in Chemistry, other than that, self-taught,”A small grin played on his lips.

  Anderson walked off and Greg stepped closer to Sherlock,”Listen, if you want to ‘help’ out on cases, you’ll have to get yourself clean.”

  “I have no-”

  “I know an addict when I see one Sherlock, I know how hard it is to stop, but you need to if you want to work with me.”

  “Right.”

  “Hey there Sherlock, you doing okay? I saw you almost fall over at the scene there,”Gereg came up to him.

  “It’s nothing…” there was a tone of sadness in his voice,”the erm, victim, was a friend of mine back in Uny. I saw him a week ago with his kids and wife.”

  “Oh, Sherlock, I’m sorry to hear about that,”He knew what it was like to find a person you knew laying on the ground surrounded by yellow markers,”Were you close?”

  Holmes shook his head, and then looked at Lestrade with a curious expression,”Your wife is due soon, isn’t she?”

  “Yeah…”Greg took a step back, knowing good and bloody damn well that the last time he deduced something like that, the young man’s partner was giving birth as they spoke.

  Sherlock smiled,”Girl or boy?”

  “A little girl,”Greg was a bit relieved he didn’t say anything else.

  “That’s nice, I’ve always heard that girl’s are easier to manage in their younger years than boys. Then again, I was always a pain, still am,”he said matter of factly,”Also, your wife is about to call.”

  “What?” Just a moment later his phone rang and he answered,”Hello? Ya, ya, oh. Oh! I’ll be there in just a second! Yeah!”

  “You okay there boss?” Donovan asked, seeing that he practically jumped out of his skin.

  “Jen is going into labour!” He started for his cruiser and saw Sherlock standing where he left him,”Get in Sherlock.”

  “What?” the rookie walked over and gave him a questioning look.

  “Just get in!” He got on the passenger’s side and they went off with the lights and siren going,”I want you to be there.”

  “Why me?”

  “Because…”

  “I know it isn’t because I’m your frien-”

  “Sherlock?”

  “Yes?”

  “You are my friend, okay? I know you’re not one for ‘sentiment’ but you are in fact my friend. I am bringing you because you remind me of someone I wish my daughter could meet.”

  “Who would that be?”

  He drew a breath in,”My brother, Thomas. He died of a drug overdose a few years ago. Bright man, graduated from Uny with a PhD in Forensic Sciences.”

  “Oh,”Sherlock furrowed his brow,”Well, I’m sure he’d be proud of you, making a family of your own.”

  Greg nodded as they pulled into the Hospital parking lot,”Alright, stay here until I call you up.”

  “O-okay.”

  After about an hour-and-a-half of waiting, Sherlock got a text ‘We’re on the second floor room 211.’ He went in the elevator, and then came out of it facing room 205. After a moment of very brisk walking he reached 211 and lightly knocked on the door. Lestrade opened it,”Jen, this is Sherlock.”

  “You’re the darling detective Greg talks about all the time, it’s a pleasure to finally meet you Mr. Holmes.”

  “It’s Sherlock, please,”He sat in one of the chairs that sat in the room.

  “Meet Sterling,”Lestrade picked the baby out of the bassinet that sat next to the bed,”Sterling Opal Lestrade.”

  “She’s beautiful,”Sherlock smiled. His eyes widened when Greg sat the small child in his arms, but quickly relaxed when she looked up at him,”Where’d you get the names from?”

  “The first name is from Greg’s brother, Thomas Sterling Lestrade, and the middle name is from my mother Opal Leeway,”She beamed.

  “Hello Sterling.”

i have abandonment and grief trauma sourced bpd (as well as extreme sa trauma but that’s irrelevant here) that messed w my amygdala and caused this disorder . because (part of) this i get distressed and depressed when ppl i love leave , that’s why i made this bc ty is my drawn ult w key from shinee and i love him sm and miss him so this helps me get it out how much i miss him as my therapist recommends me to write stuff that upset me bc i HATE opening up to ppl irl and try to be strong .

Did your parents know you were 16 the first time and were they okay with it? I’m sure they know now but like did they know back then at the time you were 16 that you had sex? Parents usually don’t want their kids to be sexually active while they are still kids so just curious.

My dad didn’t know and I’ve never told him so I don't know what he thinks lol. My bf and I were together for 3.5 years - 16 to 20 - so like my dad obviously knows I had sex somewhere in that time period lmfao because he’s not an idiot and I was clearly not saving myself for marriage and since I was in a 3.5 year relationship like I didn’t go into age 20 a virgin lmfao like king can deduce what happened there without being Sherlock fucking Holmes. my mum thought it happened earlier than it did actually. I told her when we did it because I wanted like full disclosure and the deal was we weren’t allowed sleepovers until we finished school (our mums decided that) but we were allowed round at one another’s and like I know my mum’s cool so I just told her like “if we use condoms and he leaves afterwards is it cool if we can lock my door so no one bursts in” and she was like “if you use condoms and take your BC absolutely but yeah no he won’t stay over until you finish school”. FWIW my parents also started dating aged 16 and definitely didn’t save themselves for marriage and she was my dad’s second like he had screwed this older girl a few months before that lol which is why I don’t think 16 seemed too young to them and possibly why my dad thought my bf and I would get married lol because they did (they also then got badly divorced but that’s another episode in the Nat family saga). My bf’s mum was also v cool and after we finished school was super chill with me staying there - I moved out after I was done with school; he lived at home for most of our relationship (I think he moved out a month or two before we broke up) and she was cool with me being there for like days at a time lol and him being at mine for days at a time.
