I hate quirky bookshops, I hate tiny coffee shops, I hate "hidden gem" shops and restaurants, I hate small town museums, I hate all these kinds of places that every gay tm kid wants to spend their whole life in because I want to spend my life in them but they're inaccessible to people with disabilities

Almost every single one of these places have at least 2 it so stairs just to get in or to go to a different room, some have a while flight of stairs and no fucking elevator, all of the counters are too high so I'm more likely to spill my coffee on me or I just literally can't reach a book or whatever, they have literally no space to move around with mobility aids (or good forbid if someone is fat, because they wouldn't want anyone who isn't conventional there) and if you mention any of your problems to these people they just act like you're the problem

DM: So you leave Shame's house and go to the museum.

Lyra (playing Hesty): We should pretend to look at the exhibits while we keep an eye out for Hinter Wildtree.

Marijn (playing Winnifred): Before we go inside I turn myself invisible and split off to actively look for him.

Adam (playing Harriet): I'm going to hang out by Hesty but definitely keep an eye out.

Hamish (playing Hunter): I'll pretend to be as engrossed in the exhibits as Hesty.

Lyra: *sly* Are you pretending, or do you get actually engrossed?

Hamish: *rolls* Er...

DM: Excellent, Hunter continues to tell everyone he hates libraries and museums while in fact being fascinated by what he's reading.

Hamish: *unconvincing* Please. There are titties on these statues.

DM: Winnifred, a couple of rooms away you spot a figure that seems to match Hunter's drawing and the descriptions you got, sweeping the floors.

Marijn: I'm not sure what to do so I'll just follow him.

DM: At some point he starts humming.

Marijn: Oh no, I don't know the song! Er, I keep following him until he goes into the same room as the others.

DM: He gets to a room where you can see the others through an archway, but he seems to be going across toward the other door for now.

Marijn: Damn. I go to the archway and call very softly for Harriet.

Adam: "Huh? Who'sat?"

Marijn: *whispers* "Over here."

Adam: I join you at the archway.

DM: Does everyone follow Harriet?

Lyra: I'm very absorbed in this exhibit.

Hamish: *rolls and groans* ...I am too.

DM: *grins*

Andy (playing Diardi): I grab them both and pull them along.

Not that I need a hill to die on, but I kinda want to defend the girl on the clock app who is apparently getting dragged by the art world. (Note: I'm not on the clock app. I'm getting all this second-hand.) And like, I'm not saying the art is bad. (I am saying it's pretentious. Which is a matter of opinion.) Apparently she then went and painted a piece of notebook paper blue, to prove her point. And an art historian was dragging her for that, being like, "why choose notebook paper? And it better not be because that was the cheapest, easiest thing to find. Why leave the brush strokes visible? The point of these artworks is that they're saying something, they're meant to get a reaction." And I'm like, lady…. You just proved your point. She chose notebook paper because that reflects how cheaply she views these artworks. She painted it this way to get a reaction. Which is what she's getting.

It's almost like all art is made up and pretentiousness, like beauty, is in the eye of the beholder.
