NEW LONGSTAR AU - THE NOT-SO-LONG BALLAD OF FIRE AND FLAME
Before Fire Prophecy
Talltail seeks to kill the Loner that he believes killed his father.  With the help of a kittypet named Jake, he finds the strength to forgive, and instead saves Sparrow from the Monster, and returns to Windclan with new determination in his heart and a dear…friend…that he leaves behind.  It is with this new spirit that he protests the renaming of Hopkit, and he stays Hoppaw.  The two remain close friends throughout their lives.
In Riverclan, Stormkit is renamed Crookedkit, but Rainflower is also renamed – Rottenflower.  Crookedkit’s name is given as a sign of survival, and Rottenflower’s as a sign of her true heart.  Crookedkit still leaves for a time, still is haunted by the Geist Mapleshade, but with his head a little higher and heart a little clearer.
Tiny is playing on an old stump when the Thunderclan Patrol finds him, and Thistleclaw orders Tigerpaw to attack.  Bluefur intercedes, and the heavily injured kitten is brought back to camp to be treated.  Sunstar decides to keep the poor little thing, and Frostkit is semi-adopted by Bluefur.
Yellowfang is about to bury Hopekit and Wishkit when the sounds and smells of Twolegs alert her.  She knows they will try to take her and her remaining kit, so she grabs Brokenkit and runs.  The twoleg, stretching their legs after a long car ride, finds the two kittens and sees signs of life in the little tortie.  They rush the cold kitten to a vet, and with time and effort, little Nutmeg thrives.
As Frostkit heals, a moons-long process, he makes friends with Spottedpaw and Whitepaw.  Eventually he notices that Thistleclaw keeps trying to get Spottedpaw alone, and with the help of Thrushpelt, discovers the horrible truth.  Thistleclaw is dragged before the clan, and with Spottedpaw’s testimony, the Traitor is banished from the clans permanently.  Spottedpaw becomes a Healer apprentice, and Thrushpelt begins to mentor Frostpaw.
Nutmeg eventually is introduced to a handsome orange tabby named Jake, and falls in love.  He breaks her heart by leaving when she’s due to give birth, and swears to take care of her beloved bundles of joy by herself.
Raggedstar lies dying, with his daughter Brokentail laughing as she cleans the blood from her paws, and realizes the enormous mistake he made with the way he raised her.  He dies, and watches as Brokentail receives her lives from the Dark Forest. Watches her kill kits.  Watches her banish her own mother.  What has he done?
Longpaw is mentored by Frostfoot, making an unusual pair.  Longpaw is eventually named Longtail, and wonders what his future holds for him.  He does not see the starry crown behind his head, ethereal and light as a dream.
Bluestar and Spottedleaf sit together on a hillside, Leader and Oracle Healer, and a pair of stars fall burning from the sky.  Fire Will Save The Clans.
The Long Ballad of Fire and Flames
Rusty the kittypet has yet another strange dream, of a red-tailed bird falling from a rainy sky.  He and his friend Smudge discuss the happenings around the neighborhood.  Princess, Rusty’s sister, forbids Rusty from going to the forest by himself.  Later that night, Rusty tries to catch a mouse on the border and gets tackled by a gray tabby, who is impressed when Rusty flings him off.  After meeting his mentor Lionheart, Rusty agrees to meet them the next morning, to see the Clan.  Rusty tells Princess about this.
The next morning, Rusty sneaks past a still sleeping Princess and a worried Smudge, and meets Bluestar, Graypaw, and Lionheart. The Thunderclanners refuse to wait for his sister. They head off to camp, with Rusty leaving a subtle scent trail so Princess can find him.  Princess wakes up, and follows the trail with stealth and careful steps.
At camp, Bluestar introduces Rusty as a potential clanmate, and some cats take offense to that.  Darkstripe demands he be tested, but Frostfoot tells him to calm down, what, are you threatened by him? Really?  Lionheart gets inbetween them to break it up, but cocky Longtail challenges the kittypet before anyone can stop him.  Frostfoot is mortified.  Rusty accepts, and the two square off.  Longtail gets the upper paw almost immediately, and gets a hold of Rusty’s collar.  As he pulls, he hears a yowl of outrage.  And suddenly he is FLUNG bodily, his ear burning, the collar still in his mouth.
He gets up, and there is an ENORMOUS molly standing over the fallen kittypet, the warriors and camp guards at the ready to fight.  As Spottedleaf helps him to his feet, Longtail hears the Tortie scolding Rusty for leaving without her, I TOLD you there would be trouble but noooOOOooo you don’t listen to your sister!  You just listen to your silly dreams!! Bluestar interrupts, impressed with the boldness of the kittypet and interested with the dreams comment.  Princess introduces herself, and after Rusty says he agreed to the fight, apologizes to a still stunned Longtail.  Rusty explains he has dreams that come true sometimes, and tells Bluestar and Spottedleaf about the red-tailed hawk dream.  Spottedleaf asks to mentor Rusty in the arts of healing and Starseeing, and Bluestar agrees, asking is Princess would like to join as well. Frostfoot mildly scolds Longtail for leaping without looking, and Princess and Rusty become Flamepaw and Firepaw, with Bluestar herself mentoring Flamepaw.
And then Ravenpaw rushes into camp.  Redtail is dead, he screams, and collapses.  And pandemonium rises.
After Tigerclaw brings Redtail’s lifeless body back to camp, and the apprentices and kits are shielded from the sight by Whitestorm and Lionheart, the pair of siblings settle in.  Firepaw makes fast friends with Ravenpaw and Graypaw, and Flamepaw befriends Dustpaw and Sandpaw.  The pair drag Longtail into being their friend as well, which brings Frostfoot and eventually Swiftpaw into the equation as well.
Longtail begins to mentor Swiftpaw, and finds that he loves teaching.  With the help of Frostfoot and the other Mentor cats, he begins to become more humble and less cocky.  Longtail begins to appreciate his friendship with Firepaw and Flamepaw, and takes more time to live, not just be a Hunter and Mentor.
One day, while gathering herbs for the Healer’s Den, Firepaw is knocked off his feet by an old gray and yellow molly.  He springs to his feet, ready to fight, but the attacker is just…staring at him.  Like she’s seen a Geist.  He cautiously asks if she’s alright, do you need help ma’am?  And she moans something unintelligible, falling to the ground in a dead faint.  Firepaw panics, and drags her back to camp.  There, she is identified as Yellowfang by Spottedleaf, who tells Firepaw of her alleged crimes, and how she believes that Yellowfang was framed.  Said Healer wakes up, takes one look at Flamepaw coming in to drop off a mouse, and promptly wails in grief and pain.  The three of the get her to calm down, and she quietly apologizes, the siblings look like…patients she lost long ago.  Bluestar listens to her tale of Brokenstar being a False Star, and while still weighing the information, relegates Yellowfang to being a War-Bound for the time being.
Bluestar does not hear the story Yellowfang tells to the Healers and the Apprentice Brawler.  She does not see the siblings take the old molly to meet their mother.  She does not know a family has been made as whole as it will ever be.
At the Gathering, Brokenstar tells everyone how she ran out Windclan, and Bluestar realizes that Yellowfang was probably telling the truth.  As she had just revealed Thunderclan had Yellowfang as a War Bound, she begins to prepare for an attack, and she is correct – Shadowclan tries to kill Yellowfang, and succeeds at killing Lionheart and her dear friend Rosetail. Her heart grows a crack. She names the brave Tigerclaw, names Yellowfang part of Thunderclan, and tries to go on.
Then Ravenpaw leaves, begging shelter at The Barn with Bluestar’s old friend Barley, for reasons the apprentice refuses to communicate.  All his friends Graypaw, Firepaw, and Flamepaw will say is that he needed to be something that the Clans couldn’t let him be.  And the crack grows.
And then Shadowclan steals Frostfur’s kits, Lionheart’s kits. They kill Spottedleaf, Firepaw wailing over her body. She goes with her Warriors, Brawlers, and their apprentices to rescue the innocent.  They are met by Senior Warriors and other banished cats from Shadowclan, aided by Yellowfang in secret. Brokenstar is run out of the clans. Yellowfang takes over Firepaw’s training, and Flamepaw and Graypaw are named Flamewish (per her request) and Graystripe. Why is the crack still growing?
Flamewish, Graystripe, Longtail, and Swiftpaw are sent to retrieve Windclan.  It goes well, until a Riverclan patrol tries to fight them, and Whiteclaw falls off a cliff while fighting Graystripe.
When the group returns, Flamewish and Graystripe receive their first apprentices – Cinderpaw and Brackenpaw.  Flamewish finds Mentoring difficult, and asks Longtail for advice.  The pair become close friends.  Firepaw and Sandstorm make bets as to when they’ll become mates.  Unfortunately, Cinderpaw is lured away from camp and gets hit by a Monster. (It’s a car, just – just call it a car!! -Firepaw) Firepaw saves her life, and Yellowfang bestows the name Fireheart upon him at the next half-moon.
Also unfortunately (or perhaps fortunately), at seeing her apprentice so badly injured, Flamewish has an unusual reaction.  She goes into labor.  Seeing as Flamewish had no idea she was even a little pregnant (as she put it), things get a little crazy.  Longtail is flabbergasted, Bluestar is confused, Yellowfang is baffled, and Fireheart is delighted but also flabbergasted.  Flamewish does some calculating, then privately asks Fireheart to go bite Smudge in the face for her.
(This means Flamewish misses Graystripe meeting the gorgeously muscled Riverclan molly)
But it DOES mean she spends time in the Nursery with Brindleface, her kits Fernkit and Ashkit and Frostfoot and his kits Flykit and Coldkit.  Frostfoot who had just gone out one day and brought back the pair, claiming them as his.  Bluestar was frustrated and elated at the same time.
The three become even closer when Brokenstar attacks, as they defend the Nursery together.  Longtail and Swiftpaw help drive off the Rogues together, and after Yellowfang blinds Brokenstar and leaves her Brokentail the War Bound, Swiftpaw is rewarded with his Adult Name – Swiftspirit. (Later, Longtail will see this as an omen, unknowingly given by Starclan through Bluestar…) Graystripe is later caught giving prey to Riverclan, and punished by having his apprentice taken away – Longtail is suddenly a Mentor again!  And Brackenpaw has so many things to learn!
Cinderpaw makes a nearly full recovery, but her time in the Healer’s Den had made her rethink her life – she wants to heal others.  Flamewish cracks a joke about her brother poaching her apprentice, but wishes her well.
And then Brokentail’s War Bound status becomes known.  And Thunderclan is attacked.  And Tigerclaw is at her throat, keen claws at her throat.  But as her heart shatters, a yowl of outrage rings through the air, and Longtail and Flamewish HAUL the Traitor off of her.  Bluestar banishes Him, and she holds the pieces of her heart and weeps – there are no stars in her tonight.  She waits too long, then names the astonished Longtail as Deputy.
Then Graystripe begs for the Healers to help him – they find the laboring Silverstream and do what they can, but Featherkit and Stormkit outlive their mother.  Graystripe leaves for Riverclan, refusing to abandon his kits.  Fireheart and Flamewish can’t blame him, but it still hurts.  And Brokentail is dead.  Yellowfang tells her leader that he dies of natural causes, but Bluestar does not see the look on Fireheart’s face.  (She will eventually learn that he just watched his grandmother kill his uncle) Then the fire. Oh the fire.  Patchpelt and Halftail, coughing and then forever breathless.  Fireheart and Flamewish race to find Yellowfang – to find their family.  She lies in a hollow tree, and blesses the Stars that she has enough time to say goodbye.  To say how proud she is of them – both her life paths.  I’ll always watch over you. (and Yellowfang keeps this promise)
Bluestar feels her mind failing, rain through the treetops instead of thoughts. So when she sees the Traitor leading Shadowclan as a False Star, she just…lets go. She watches Leopardstar rise and her clan move around her like a fever dream.  She watches the hawk impassively as it goes for Snowkit, and barely reacts when it takes Speckletail instead.  She doesn’t react when Longtail promotes Snowpaw to train under Brackenfur, or when Flamewish brings the elderly deaf kittypet Brahm to teach Snowpaw and Mistlepaw and others Pawspeak. She doesn’t react to the death of Swiftspirit or the maiming of Brightpaw, save to curse the Stars that left her broken by naming the poor thing Lostface.
(Longtail MOURNS.  He refuses to eat, has to be pried from his nest, and it takes a teary Flamewish admitting she misses the tom she loves for him to snap out of it.  The pair find solace in each other.  Fireheart and Sandstorm are too busy and too worried to exchange the mouse that they bet.  Neither ever says who won that bet)
Rabbits lead a bloody trail to poor Brindleface, and Longtail makes a plan to lead the dogs away from their den and over the river-cliffs.  Bluestar nods absently, but there’s a shining spark in her eyes that hasn’t been there in ages.  The runners lead the killer hounds up to the cliffs and away, but one grabs Longtail, pinning him and scratching his face.  But a blur of blue streaks onto the dog’s back, and overbalances them both into the river.  A pair of Riverclan warriors leap into action, and Bluestar says goodbye to her family, Frostfoot and Whitestorm having raced to the scene.
Longtail is escorted to the Moonstone by Fireheart, and finds himself in Starclan.  He receives his lives from Nightstar, Runningwind, Speckletail, Lionheart, Redtail, Silverstream, Yellowfang, Bluestar, and finally Swiftspirit.  Longstar vows to stop Tigerstar and his cronies.  He names Whitestorm as Deputy, and begins planning.
Tigerstar goes after Windclan, pinning and seemingly killing Gorsepaw, but as soon as the Shadowclan Battle Patrol leaves, he brings his head up and smiles weakly at his frantic mother. He will be scarred for life, but he will have his chance to live.
At Riverclan, Stonefur defends the apprentices to his last breath, and Graystripe rescues his kits from Tigerstar and Leopardstar.  Some Riverclan cats escape in the chaos, unwilling to follow their leader on this path.
Finally, with Windclan and Thunderclan united against the forces of Riverclan and Shadowclan, Tigerstar plays his deadliest card yet, as hordes of strange city Rogues appear.  Led by a figure some Thunderclanners recognize.  Thistleclaw.  But the rogues, no, the Bloodclanners, call him Tyrant.  Tigerstar boasts to the assembled clans how he killed Bluestar using the dogs and
Tyrant kills Tigerstar with a slash to the underbelly
Nine lives gone, in a single blow
The battle comes the next day, all four clans together – Longstar and Tallstar, Leopardstar and Blackstar.
Bone holds down Whitestorm, and is ripped of by a squad of apprentices, including his own, Brightheart.
Darkstripe goes after the Healers, and Graystripe strikes him down. His body is never found, and a gray tabby wanders desolate, his mistakes weighing on his soul.
Longstar strikes the final blow against Tyrant
And life goes on

i never got into warriorcats bc our school library only carried animorphs and nancy drew but from your posts now i kinda want too. is there like. a good place to start like in discworld or would just starting from the beginning be the best choice?
so my personal recommendation would be to only read the first series actually (which includes the books: Into the Wild, Fire and Ice, Forest of Secrets, Rising Storm, A Dangerous Path, and The Darkest Hour) and some of the super editions related to the first series which i havent actually read but i believe they can be read in any order once youve finished series one? (super editions being: Bluestar's Prophecy, Crookedstar's Promise, Yellowfang's Secret, possibly a couple others idk)
the reason i can only recommend the first series is because in series two and three, the books introduce a group of cats called the Tribe of Rushing Water and it's handled very poorly... ill link a google doc explaining the flaws in writing the Tribe as it does a great job breaking everything down:
if u want to know about anything past series one, the best way to learn would probably be through warrior cat animation videos on youtube + sparknotes lol

Rippling Pawsteps Outline (so far!)
i’ve been talking about my rewrite for a little bit now, and i think i’ll be calling it rippling pawsteps! or tagged ripples au for short. so far, i’ve covered the first two arcs vaguely. nothing much has been changed, mostly minor things and setups for arc 3. nothing is completely set in stone, so feel free to give me suggestions and requests anytime! i won’t be able to do all of them, but i love hearing what others think about my stuff and exchanging ideas :)
outlines below the cut! beware, it’s so long. oh and entirely raw. unedited. i wrote the outlines for the first arc as i read the books, and the outlines for the second as i watched moonkitti’s “i spoil” videos for them lmao
OUTLINES
INTO THE WILD
- Prologue is the same, sunningrocks battle (NOT the one Redtail dies in.), Spottedleaf delivers the “Fire alone can save our clan” prophecy
- Timeline is moved up a bit, Rusty is 5 months old, not 6 —same with Graypaw. When Rusty walks into the forest to hunt, he’s jumped by Sandpaw, who was followed by Whitestorm and Bluestar. Same conversation about joining the clan commences, but Bluestar comments that Rusty looks small and finds out he’s only 5 moons.
- The next day, Rusty is taken to camp, but by Whitestorm and Redtail. Redtail is still having empty nest syndrome after Sandpaw was apprenticed, so he’s super interested in Rusty. The same “test” getting to camp is done, but much less intense.
- They arrive at camp, same as canon. When Darkstripe and Longpaw threaten Rusty, however, Redtail threatens to body him because this is Redtail’s new baby, back off.
- Bluestar says shhh let them duke it out and rusty beats the shit out of longpaw and gets his collar ripped off
- Redtail takes the newly named Firekit to the nursery and introduces him to Graykit, who’s waiting for his mother Willowpelt to come back. Fire and Gray are instant bffs.
- For the next moon, until Fire and Gray are apprenticed, Fire learns his way around camp and clan life, and gets to bond a lot with Redtail. From what Redtail’s said, Fire will be apprenticed to him.
- Also during this time, Fire sees Longpaw’s warrior ceremony
- Firepaw is indeed apprenticed to Redtail, and they have fun for a single day before the sunningrocks battle where Redtail is killed. When Ravenpaw bursts into camp announcing Redtail’s death, Firepaw, Sandpaw, and Runningnose are wailing, and this is how the story introduces 1) the mystery and 2) clan culture’s death rituals and grieving process
- Lionheart is made deputy
- Bluestar takes over Firepaw’s apprenticeship, but Firepaw is held back because he just misses redtail :(
- Through this, Tigerclaw is very soothing to Firepaw and Sandpaw, trying to instill loyalty in them, so Firepaw has a relatively favorable opinion of Firepaw
- Firepaw and Goldenflower have a kind of nice aunty thing going on, she loves him, he loves her a lot too
- 2 moons into training, Firepaw is a natural hunter and while a bit slower at picking up fighting, doing very well regardless
- Frostfur and Lionheart have the babies: Brightkit, Thornkit, Cinderkit and Brackenkit
- Firepaw and Graypaw are hunting together at sunningrocks and Fire is angsty about it. Firepaw notes that it looks like there had been a rock slide, but Tigerclaw hadn’t mentioned that in the report
- Riverclan apprentices Silverpaw, Heavypaw and Shadepaw show up at sunningrocks, and get into a verbal spat with the boys
- Fire is aggressive, this clan killed Redtail. He screams for them to leave, or Tigerclaw will kill more than just their deputy. River kids are pissed, but one of em goes “huh???? Tigerclaw didn’t kill Oakheart. He died in the rockslide” Graypaw is like “what are you on??? Tigerclaw killed Oakheart in revenge after Oakheart killed redtail.” River kids are ???? no man oakheart never killed redtail. Redtail killed oakheart.
- Firepaw is upset, and tries to write it off, but the way the Riverclan ‘paws seemed really confused, not angry
- Next day, Firepaw finds Yellowfang and feeds her, Tigerclaw is furious with him because she has a bad rep, but Bluestar is pleased
- Yellowfang is a healet, and they are sacred: Firepaw did good in bringing her here and feeding her, but bad bc he also ate the rabbit
- Firepaw is grounded until the next gathering, taking care of Yellowfang, and learning Lore from her and forming the cute relationship we all know and love. Also Shadowclan things
- Gathering: Windclan is missing, Brokenstar yowls that Yellowfang is disgraced, and declares that they’re the ones who chased WindClan out of their territory,
- Firepaw notes how small the Shadowclan apprentices are, hmmm….. Here is where he learns about Littlepaw’s Law
- After the gathering, tigerclaw and gang + the queens are in an uproar over yellowfang, and darkstripe and longtail drag her out of her nest
- Bluestar admonishes them, saying Yellowfang is welcome in Thunderclan and she will not tolerate any harm against her. Darkstripe and tigerclaw look disgruntled, but longtail is SO shameful
- Bluestar announces her moonstone visit! Same group as canon, they travel but firepaw is soooo weirded out by tigerclaw like he’s being so weird
- During the sleepy time bluestar insists firepaw commune with StarClan too. He does, and redtail visits him, cue cute reunion, dream ends with redtail trying to tell firepaw what happened, “Tigerclaw…” bluestar then wakes the boy up
- Same visit, bluestar has the dream, loses a life to the rats. Firepaw notes that tigerclaw is oddly apathetic about bluestar losing a life right in front of him
- They race back to thunderclan, everyone be fighting fr
- Firepaw beats the shit out of a shadowclan she-cat, and witnesses blackfoot killing rosetail and trying to steal frostfur’s kits
- Yellowfang fucks blackfoot UP protecting the babies
- Yellowfang is made a full member of ThunderClan, and offers to help Spottedleaf with post-battle healing, hooray
- Lionheart was killed during battle, and bluestar makes Tigerclaw deputy. Ravenpaw is HORRIFIED, and Firepaw is uneasy due to his recent dream from redtail
- Ravenpaw finally tells firepaw the whole story, then they tell graypaw together
- Brindleface gives birth to ashkit and fernkit
- Bluestar tells firepaw she’s only got 2 more lives left, not 4
- Frostfur’s kits go missing :000
- Tigerclaw blames yellowfang cause she’d also missing, then the gang finds spottedleaf—firepaw is horrified, he wasn’t close to spottedleaf but they’d bonded over redtail after his death and he’s devastated that she’s dead now too
- The storm begins—Bluestar forbids a patrol to go out for the kits until the storm is over, tigerclaw pushes his “there’s a traitor in thunderclan” argument again, frostfur is increasingly paranoid and strikes ravenpaw when he comes too close to the nursery to check on brindleface’s kits
- Bluestar asks Firepaw to go find Yellowfang before Tigerclaw can, because she has a feeling he’d “put the clan’s wants above the code” = kill Yellowfang
- Firepaw goes to do just that, but sees the clan turning on Ravenpaw and decides to bring him to get him somewhere safe first. Graypaw sees and tags along with them
- They drop Ravenpaw off at the edge of WindClan territory to go live with Barley, and this takes like half a day before the boys are tracking Yellowfang
- They find her and it goes as in canon, she tells them Clawface took the kits and they tell her that he also killed Spottedleaf. They run into the ThunderClan patrol(which this time around includes Sandpaw and Dustpaw), Yellowfang gets the ShadowClan elders, they execute their plan.
- During the battle, Firepaw beats the shit out of Boulder and Clawface, Whitestorm stops him from killing Clawface but Firepaw still adds another deep scar to his face before sending Clawface running
- Firepaw helps Yellowfang with Brokenstar before he and the rogues leave, and they check on the kits. Cinderkit and Brackenkit are okay, but Thornkit and Brightkit have some nasty cuts
- They go back to camp, the kits are tended to by Yellowfang, Yellowfang is made ThunderClan’s official healer
- Bluestar names Firepaw, Graypaw, Sandpaw, and Dustpaw warriors, they are now Fireheart, Graystripe, Sandstorm, and Dustpelt.
- Fireheart and Graystripe declare Ravenpaw dead, found in ShadowClan, and Yellowfang obv knows they’re lying and is confused but doesn’t say anything cause she’s fucking based
- The book ends with Fireheart sitting vigil after unsuccessfully trying to tell Bluestar about Tigerclaw’s crimes, Tigerclaw glaring at him threateningly. He knows Fireheart knows.
FIRE AND ICE
- Book begins with the morning after the vigil, fireheart checks on the kits with Yellowfang. Thornkit and Brightkit will have their apprenticeships delayed while they heal, but Cinderkit and Brackenkit will be ready soon
- Fireheart doesn’t try to tell bluestar the truth yet, he doesn’t think he has the whole story bc he knew redtail so he knows redtail would never kill
- Gathering, nighpelt asks to keep the loaned riverclan territory, Crokkedstar calls him fucking crazy like what
- Bluestar reprimands Nightpelt, then says WindClan must be brought back, the other two fight back about it but in the end agree WindClan would be brought home
- Next day, Bluestar gives fireheart and graystripe the mission of finding the windy cats
- This goes exactly the same as in canon, including the gorge fight where whiteclaw dies rip to that bitch but i haven’t read leopardstar’s honor so i don’t even know his personality
- Fire and gray are given Cinder and Bracken as apprentices, and just like in canon Gray falls in the river and meets Silverstream
- Most of this book goes the same as canon, tbh. Tigerclaw is slightly less aggressive though bc it adds Layers
- Fireheart finds out about graystripe sneaking off to meet his riverclan babe and is HEARTBROKEN (this will be able to be read both romantic and platonic)
- Like fireheart is so upset and betrayed, he yells at graystripe for disloyalty
- Gray is a stubborn ass and yells back, continues to use his excuse of a cold to not do his mentor or warrior duties and instead lay about and meet with silverstream
- Fireheart takes over mentoring for both Cinderpaw and Brackenpaw, Runningwind helps sometimes and the two bond over Redtail a little
- Tigerclaw sets the thunderpath trap for Bluestar while she is recovering from greencough/losing a life, cinderpaw goes and falls into it instead while fireheart is getting catnip from twolegplace
- Fireheart is, once more, devastated. Graystripe arrives back in camp, fireheart glares at him, graystripe snarls and doesn;t talk to him
- Throughout the book i want tiny longfire interactions and firesand interactions, but firesand is sibling coded here due to fire’s relationship with redtail
- Next morning, graystripe has the same argument with fireheart as in canon, why didnt you tell me bluestar lost a life?! And fire’s like well you didnt want to speak with me…
- It goes similar to canon, but more aggressive on fireheart’s side—this man is petty and heartbroken and so, so sad. His pseudo grandmother mother mentor is so close to death and his little sister apprentice kid is on the verge of death and his best friend was too busy galivanting by the river with a pretty girl to care
- Fireheart blows up about how he wasn’t in camp when cinderpaw was in danger and if he had been he could’ve been fast enough to stop her from leaving, and about how graystripe has completely abandoned brackenpaw
- Graystripe calls him a disloyal untrusting jerk and this hurts fireheart soooo bad
- Graystripe is definitely in the wrong here but i want fireheart to have some spice too, he’s gotta have some sass to contend with longtail lfmao
- The argument was heard by the clan, most thunderclan cats are feeling weird about graystripe and how often he’s gone
- Sandstorm beckons fireheart to sit with her, dustpelt, and longtail, who are kind of a little friend group within the clan
- Dustpelt is still pretty aggressive with fireheart, but sandstorm is downright friendly after he saved her at the gorge and longtail is still sassy but not in the kitty racism way, so fireheart is surprised that he enjoys talking to longtail
- Soon after, fireheart goes to princess for more catnip and she hands over baby Cloudkit, woohoo
- Tigerclaw and darkstripe are PISSED, and most of the clan is relatively hostile about gaining a new member
- Graystripe sticks up for fireheart a little, but sandstorm sticks up for him too and that does it for bluestar
- Brindleface agrees to nurse him anf frostfur is super nice to fireheart, bluestar names cloudkit, bur refuses him a ceremony. Fireheart begins to feel a bit jaded, his best friend is betraying him, tigerclaw is a fucking kitty racist murderer, cinderpaw almost died, and bluestar is not mothering like mother used to. Mother is mothering like MY mother, which is never a good thing to be. Do better, bluestar.
- After this things continue pretty similarly to canon
- Brokenstar leads all warriors except fireheart out of camp and attacks, fireheart, sandstorm, and dustpelt defend that shit
- They are Praised
- Brokentail is blinded and now prisoner
- At the end, we have the shadowclan and riverclan vs windclan and thunderclan in the WindClan camp, fighting goes hard fr
- Leopardfur tries to literally kill fireheart, he asks tigerclaw to help, tigerclaw just stares at him blankly and watches. Fireheart manages to get away, attacking nightstar and going to help whitestorm, but he’s stopped by silverstream
- This battle goes a little different than in canon, bc fireheart actually hates her guts for taking graystripe away from him
- So when she comes to her senses and stops fighting him, he just hisses and swipes at her before she runs away. Tiny, but big effect on his and graystripe’s relationship. The boys are FIGHTING
- I want this to drive fireheart to seek out company in sand, dust, and long, so their bonds will be solid when graystripe comes to his senses and stops putting riverclan pussy over his home and family ?! long and dust are still iffy but sandstorm and fireheart become bros
FOREST OF SECRETS
- Opens with the next gathering, Fireheart and Graystripe are friends again but fireheart openly disapproves of graystripe’s choices, he insists this will end badly
- Gathering goes as normal, fireheart overhears elders talking about bluestar’s missing kits
- After the gathering, fireheart and graystripe go to see ravenpaw to ask for more information, when ravenpaw says oakheart died via convenient rocks fireheart is relieved and goes to tell bluestar
- On the way back, they hunt a lil and so tigerclaw doesn’t give them the punishment in canon, just yells at them and calls them names and stuff
- Brightpaw and thornpaw are finally made apprentices, their wounds have healed and they are strong, given to whitestorm and mousefur like in canon
- Ask silverstream about the rockslide, who gets mistyfoot who confirms the story
- Talks to graypool about the weird thing oakheart said, she tells gim mistyfoot and stonefur were thunderclan kits yadayadayada
- Fireheart goes to talk to Bluestar, tells her about the story, bluestar is completely unreceptive, snarls at him for accusing tigerclaw of such crimes but says she’ll let it slide because she knows he misses redtail and is just looking for answers. Fireheart finds this incredibly patronizing
- Fireheart and cinderpaw go looking for herbs, cloudpaw comes with and learns about deathberries
- All fireheart’s prophetic dreams are delivered by redtail and not spottedleaf
- Next morning graystripe is still knee deep in riverclan pussy so fireheart trains brackenpaw and saves cloudkit from that badger with sandstorm, tigerclaw punishes cloudkit for this. Fireheart is filled with rage.
- Fireheart sees tigerclaw sneakin to twolegplace????
- River floods, fireheart and graystripe report it to bluestar who is Oddly Worried
- Fireheart and graystripe go back out to patrol the river border and find two kits, save them, bring them back to riverclan. Every riverclan cat ever is super ungrateful about it, especially leopardfur, who is a bitch (i hate her. I hate her so mucg)
- Mistyfoot puts them in their place and thanks the boys, who promise to hunt for them
- I’m not doing the plot where they hunt from thunderclan territory tho
- Idk how yet but i’ll have them hunting outside of it and bringing that prey to riverclan
- Riverclan is grateful, but cloudkit followed them and tigerclaw used that to find out and bring them back to camp yelling traitor!!!! Traitor!! Bwuetsar he huwt my feewings by feeding stawving wiverclan cats :(
- Bluestar punishes them lightly for not telling her and sneaking around, but praises them for helping riverclan
- She sends then out to hunt and forbids them to eat until next sunrise, like apprentices, and longtail gloats a little calling fireheart firepaw and fireheart threatens to rip his other ear and longtsail shuts up bc he’s scared and also a little attracted, i think
- Before the next gathering, the stream thunderclan usually has to cross is too inflated due to the flood. Tigerclaw makes fireheart test a branch to get across, fireheart falls and almost drowns, longtail saves him though and genuinely seemed concerned for fireheart’s safety
- Fireheart locks eyes with murderclaw and knows he was trying to kill him yippee
- Cinderpaw becomes yellowfang’s official apprentice
- Gathering comes, bluestar takes most warriors and they get to the gathering by crossing through shadowclan territory, bc there is no other way
- At the gathering, nightstar reveals bluestar is sheltering brokentail, windclan and shadowclan are piiiiiissed and threaten to attack
- Shadowclan refuses to let thunderclan get home through their territory
- Riverclan lets them use theirs, fireheart notices how similar bluestar, mistyfoot, and stonefur look
- Fireheart is once again training graystripe’s apprentice when brackenpaw sees the windclan and shadowclan cats getting ready to attack them so they race to camp, commence the attack
- Brokentail lives, thunderclan wins the attack
- Brackenfur is made a warrior, thanks fireheart but not graystripe bc brackenfur hates him why would he not wtf
- Graystripe leaves and silverstream is given birth, cinderpaw helps and tigerclaw witnesses it and clearly hates children
- Silverstream dies. Rip
- Fireheart and cinderpaw take the kits back to camp, and goldenflower agrees to nurse them
- Bluestar talks to fireheart and she knew this would happen bc she too fell foe the charms of riverclan pussy, here goes her backstory bc fireheart figured her shit out
- Graystripe has buried silverstream and says where are the kits to bury and firehearts like wtf they're alive and graystripe goes :0
- Cloudpaw is firehearts new apprentice that’s crazy
- They visit princess, who tells them about strange cats in twolegplace
- Back in thunderclan, riverclan wants silverstreams babies

- Attack, wow

- Fight’s over, sandstorm and graystripe are holding tigerclaw down bc he has like fucking rabies idk that bitch is crazy
- Bluestar tells fireheart to reveal all he knows about tigerclaw to the clan
- Tigerclaw is exiled, asks each of his lackeys to go with him
- Ummmm. You left me out of this plot and i’m upset with you so no - darkstripe
- What the fuck. You tried to kill bluestar??? No???? - Longtail
- Bitch you killed my mentor??? What??? - dustpelt
- Rip tigerclaw he was funny (sike)
- Fireheart sees yellowfang kill brokentail

- Riverclan comes to take the kits, bluestar says fuck you but graystripe says no fuck me :( i will give riverclan my babiees
- Fireheart helps him take the babies to the border, graystripe reveals he’s going to riverclsan too, fireheart is sad
RISING STORM
- Opens the same as canon, fireheart out hunting with cloudpaw — cloudpaw is being a little shit, disobeying and acting very egotistical. Cloudpaw calls fireheat a loser. Fireheart watches as cloudpaw storms off to go hunt and so he heads back to camp
- He assigns some patrols, fumbling a little, poor boy is struggling and not used to being in charge
- Whitestorm tells him ashkit and fernkit are ready to be apprenticed, so fireheart goes off to tell bluestar
- Like in canon, bluestar asks if he or graystripe can mentor them, even though fireheart already has cloudpaw and graystripe is gone. Bluestar is losing it, and doesn't trust anyone in clan
- Fireheart tries to work out who should be mentors for the kiddos, and choses dustpelt and sandstorm. Yes in canon yellowfang tells him it’s not a good idea to have two inexperienced warriors mentoring at the same time, but like bluestar did it in fire and ice with fireheart and graystripe so i disagree. Give sandstorm that apprentice
- Fireheart has the moment where bramblekit’s eyes scare the bejeezus out of him, goldenflower makes her slay threat to kill anyone who hurts her babies
- Apprentice ceremony, darkstripe is irritated about the lack of an apprentice
- Sandstorm is over the MOON
- Fireheart is irritated with Cloudpaw, Longtail sits next to him and they Converse, Longtail says not to worry, that some apprentices are just rebellious and need time
- Cloudpaw finally comes back that night, with one piece of prey. Fireheart is pissed and scolds him, forbidding him from eating from the prey pile and cloudpaw is outraged
- Bluestar decides to go to the Moonstone, takes only fireheart bc she only trusts him
- Mudclaw stops them on the way there, Fireheart says they’re breaking the warrior code by preventing Bluestar from communing with StarClan, Mudclaw doesn;t care
- Fireheart and Bluestar turn back, and soon the next gathering is held
- While they were gone, Cloudpaw was supposed to be training with Runningwind but he ran off on his own
- Fireheart tries to convince Bluestar to tell Tallstar of his warrior’s conduct, but she refuses
- Gathering, bluestar announces Brokentail is dead and Fireheart is the new deputy. She refuses to tell anyone what happened with Tigerclaw, Fireheart assumes it is because of shame
- Littlecloud and Whitethroat are found by the Owl Tree, begging for food and herbs. Like in canon, Bluestar is worryingly suspicious, and Yellowfang says they have an old ShadowClan disease that is known to wipe clans and they’re kicked out
- Sandstorm and Fireheart accompany them to the border, discovering the thunderpath tunnel
- Fireheart notices how fat Cloudpaw is getting lmao
- Joint apprentice training sesh with fireheart, cloudpaw, longtail, and swiftpaw. Fireheart notices how kind longtail is to swiftpaw….hmmm…….
- He sees Cloudpaw begging for kittypet food, he is HORRIFIED
- Fireheart sees this as an attack on him and how hard he’s worked for the clan to see him as loyal — he completely blows up on Cloudpaw, worse than in canon
- Cloudpaw is completely nonchalant, he thinks he should be able to do whatever he wants
- Fireheart tries to lecture him about the warrior code, to no avail
- Willowpelt gives birth to Sootkit, Rainkit, and Sorrelkit
- Drought, fireheart goes to get wet moss hoping to run into graystripe, instead he stumbles upon the sickly ShadowClan cats. He’s a lot nicer to Cinderpelt about this issue than in canon bc like damn there was no need
- Sandstorm and fireheart follow cloudpaw to Twolegplace like canon, seeing the twoleg take Cloudpaw away in the monster
- Fireheart says now he has no kin and his adoptive sister Sandstorm is super offended
- Ashpaw misses cloudpaw :(
- Redtail dream again
- Cinderpelt says his dreams are dumb stop focusing on the past and start focusing on the NOW, fireheart!!! Fireheart says huh??? Cinderpelt says oh my god you’re so stupid i don’t understand why longtail likes you so bad
- Fireheart is strangely flustered by this information
- Himbo energy
- Mousefur, runningwind, and thornpaw were attacked by rogues, including tigerclaw, tigerclaw nerfs runningwind
- Fireheart is So sad. Poor boy
- Like in canon, whitethroat dies via car while being chased by fireheart
- Tigerclaw and fireheart go at it, tigerclaw is insufferable like usual
- This makes bluestar Worse
- The whole saving cloudpaw happens exactly as canon, ravenpaw tells em he’s in a house near highstones and they yoink him home, on the way back fire sand and cloud beat the fuck outta those windclan guys
- Cloudpaw says he was stolen and everyone believes him
- Bluestar gets worse
- Everyone’s eepy until Redtail comes to Fireheart in his dreams again, and Fireheart smells smoke oh no smoke?!?!
- During this fireheart and longtail have a Moment
- SO tempted to make fireheart save yellowfang instead of bramblekit here bc god do i find that guy insufferable but firebaby would never
- Yellowfang death scene :( bluestar is losing it 🙁
- After going back to camp, bluestar hides away and fireheart is the defacto leader
- Gathering! Tigerclaw is now tigerstar and oh shit uh that’s bad uh oh

- Gathering we get strangely emotionally connected to Gorsepaw from WindClan. Nothing bad will happen to him i’m sure
- Leopardstar is a leader now, and sucks just as much.
- Bluestar accuses windclan of prey stealing, snarling occurs, yadayada
- Next day fireheart catches darkstripe taking tigerstar’s murder babies to meet him at the border. Wtf

- Fireheart better get ready for his imminent promotion
THE DARKEST HOUR
- Oh look it’s his imminent promotion! Hello firestar! Mourning bluestar times and then highstones journey (lives from lionheart, redtail, spottedleaf, runningwind, bluestar, yellowfang, rosetail, brindleface, and either gorsepaw or silverstream)

Also, for the ask game, 🌫Darkest Hour and 🌚Midnight please!
Darkest Hour-
Best death:
Mmm, I'd have to say Bluestar?
Her last heroic act, bringing back the leader we met and loved earlier in the books, her children helping her along with Fireheart, the apologies, the forgiveness, I love it.
Plus, the fact that the prophecy said Fire will Save our Clan (only knowing fire as a destructive force), and she goes against Starclan and Fireheart himself, only to meet her end to water (a life giving, but equally destructive force)? *chef's kiss*
It felt like we closed the book on her life.
.
Worst death:
Personally, I think that would be Tigerstar. Once you get over the shock of his death, it's not...great narritavely. His death is shock value, that's it. They wanted Scourge to be the bigger bad, but had no form of set up for his character and figured the best way for him to be the bigger bad is to kill the current biggest bad.
Bloodclan are formally introduced and Tigerstar dies in the same chapter. I'm not saying Firestar had to kill him. But I am saying Scourge had no business doing so. We as the readers know Tigerstar, we know his actions, what he stands for, his opinions, his plans, whatever. The story builds investment in his character. We don't know Scourge. He's evil, yeah, but what else?
I mean the scene is badass and very worthy of its popularity. But I don't think it fits yk?
See Tigerstar has two clans on his side and as does Firestar. Aside from Eclipse, we never see the four clans fight against each other like this. They're all on equal standing, all leaders of their clans with nine lives, assumed to have the blessing of Starclan, yeah?
But Tigerstar dies. Then Bloodclan comes, outsiders come, and become a bigger threat. Then instead of the clans split in half by different ideologies from the same code, it becomes a simplified us (Starclan-following, noble warriors) vs them (Starclan-less, vicious rogues) fight.
Though you could make it so that affects the later books had Bloodclan been written better and Po3 been written differently. Due to Bloodclan, the story never truly confronts the cats on Tigerstar's side. They helped Lionclan because they wanted to keep their territory, but it can only be assumed they hold the same views they did three days ago. This could've all come to head in the Po3.
Or just have more build up to Bloodclan in general.
But I digress.

i cant stop thinking about crookedstar’s promise and how it introduced so many characters. but for some reason im more attached to the riverclan background characters than i am the shadowclan ones or thunderclan ones that are in yellowfangs secret/bluestars prophecy

The lack of Robinwing and Fuzzypelt's presence in Into The Wild and Bluestar's Prophecy (when we're introduced to their kits as apprentices) basically confirms for me that Robinwing and Fuzzypelt both died before or just after their kits were apprenticed. At the end of Bluestar's Prophecy, it's mentioned that many cats died due to the previous season's harsh leafbare, with ThunderClan losing warriors such as Stormtail, Leopardfoot, Poppydawn, etc. Making that connection, along with the circumstances of Poppydawn's death and knowing that Dustpaw and Ravenpaw would've been kits around that time if my theory is correct, this paints a tragic picture. Robinwing becomes pregnant with kits, underestimating how harsh the coming leafbare would be. When ThunderClan is beginning to run out of prey, she would die very similarly to Rainfur. She exhausts herself to the bone to ensure the survival of her kits, even in the days after Fuzzypelt himself has died from starvation, sacrificing every morsel of food to guarantee the survival of his mate and kits. I hc that in the end, it was just Patchpelt. Being Longtail's father and having been close to the kits, he becomes Dustkit and Ravenkit's primary caretaker in the final two moons before they're apprenticed. Patchpelt briefly becomes mates with Goldenflower, but there is no real love between them. Goldenflower is looking for love and Patchpelt is looking for anyone to fill the void that Robinwing's death left. The two split amicably just days after Swiftkit is born, but Patchpelt's announcement to retire shocks those he wasn't close to. Patchpelt wasn't old, but neither was he young. However, Bluestar had paid attention to how the tom's black muzzle had seemed to whiten faster as death tore through his family. Swiftbreeze, Adderfang, Leopardfoot, and now it had been his own mate. Bluestar doesn't object to Patchpelt's request to retire.
I love this, this is great - it really helps fill that gap and I’ll definitely be taking this as headcanon

oh im also curious abt what relationship Firestar has thru the story that interests u the most to think abt and examine..
this might be an obvious answer, but. fire and redtail,
we dont get introduced to redtail in the canon story proper bc he dies before it even begins; however, firestar does meet redtail in a sense, through his leader ceremony. redtail gives firestar a life for justice, which becomes a central point in my au,
firestar has some mother figures already but father figures for him arent something brought up as much, and so that's majority of the lens that i've been viewing the two of them through. redtail catches interest very quickly bc rusty, as a kittypet, mentions that he has dreams about the forest. with the prophecy floating around in his and bluestars minds, rusty is accepted into the clan, though this isnt universal.
there's a lot of different expansions on how fire understands clan life through the other cats, and better sees how to treat the other cats and do right by them while also upholding justice through his mentorship to several others. namely redtail, who imparts a lot of his own learning through mistake on fire, in hopes that he does better than red did,
redtail, in his canon, is saved by tigerclaw from a hawk, and from then on, tigerclaw expects him to be loyal to him first over anyone else, including thunderclan. he is grateful, but he learns overtime that tigerclaw is inherently dishonest, and even manipulative when he twists the truth into making sunstar believe that windclan trespassed and tried to steal prey. he even used redtails presence to further his lie, something he was too stunned and wanting to believe in tigerclaws competence as a warrior to fight on. he even was supposed to work together w a windclan warrior who saw the injustice in the situation and prevent a battle, but ... it ended up happening, anyways. this is shadowed by firehearts later success in preventing a battle between thunder and windclan later on,
fire learning more from his clanmates isnt something that was strongly touched upon in the books, and maybe some of that could be attributed to the first arc being shorter, but i liked the thought of fireheart not only bringing his own values and ideas to the clans, but expanding more on how he learned more about them as he grew up in thunderclan. i focus particularly on his relationship w redtail for this,

To me the oddest part about how Mapleshade was intergrated into Tigerclaw's Fury is: Why was she this mysterious voice that he didn't regognize?
TCF came out in 2014, so we already had Bluestar's Prophecy (2009) to establish that Thistleclaw was Tigerpaw's mentor, and Crookedstar's Promise (2011) to establish that Thistleclaw and Mapleshade were both in the Dark Forest around that time and that they knew eachother there.
I don't see any reason why they couldnt have written it that Thistleclaw brought Tigerpaw to the Dark Forest to train, where he meets Mapleshade and then she starts goading Tigerpaw to be more dark and violent.
They probably did what they did cause they wanted her place in the story to be more dramatic cause she was such a popular character, but in doing so they made it feel so forced in. I don't think it would've felt as jarring if they used the pieces they had to make her inclusion feel more natural.
If I can go real tinfoil hat, and I can't fully confirm this (I'm not going to fact check myself), but has there ever been any canon content that has shown Tigerclaw interacting with the Dark Forest before his death? Was there ever any indication that Thistleclaw did or didn't bring Tigerpaw there?
I thinking maybe the editors/authors thought that, because the Dark Forest wasn't formally introduced until arc 2, they didn't want to retcon Tigerclaw knowing about the DF during arc 1 and therefor oppening a plot hole as to why the DF wouldnt have gotten involved during the plot then (at least in any capacity bigger than one DF cat whispering vauge ideas to him without even showing her face to him), and therefor go with the contrived and more plot hole ridden idea that he just didn't know about them till his death, which is why he would never fully met Mapleshade.

Well… for starters, Snowfur survives, but is paralyzed in her hind legs as a result of getting hit by the car, but when Tigerpaw walks in on Thistleclaw screaming at Bluefur for what happened. He is pissed that it was happening in the first place because he knew there wasn’t anything she could’ve done to prevent it. The rage rises higher when he sees Whitekit is hearing all of this, so first, he gets his little buddy out of hearing range, then attacks Thistle for both what he was saying and doing it all in front of his son. It takes Lionheart, Goldenflower, and Leopardfoot to break them up.
The moment Snowfur hears about what Thistleclaw did to Flypaw, she is The first one to turn her back on him since, in the months following her accident, he’d become angrier and more controlling, so she’d broken up with him for both her sake and for her son, not wanting him to be around an influence like that.
When Firepaw and her friends Princess and Smudge go into the woods to explore it for the first time, the first Clan cat they come across is Cherrypaw, who was just not having a good day at all the voices in her head saying some rather nasty things and accidentally lashes out at Firepaw thinking she’s one of her prophecy visions. But soon realizes that was an actual cat she just clawed across the face and feels guilty. The three hurry to comfort her not knowing that all of the touches are only making it worse.
Alerted by all the noise, Thistle, who is roaming the territories as a rogue fending for himself, attacks the new comers. Thinking that they are trespassing in the tiny amount of territory he’s claimed for his own, clawing out one of Firepaw’s eyes in the process, and making her friends flee deeper in on Firepaw’s orders, ending up in RiverClan and WindClan later. But thankfully, before he can deliver the killing blow, a patrol arrives led by the newly named warrior Flyfrost, who runs Firepaw back to camp while the others chase Thistle out. He later escapes into the city, where he starts gathering a following of the hungry street cats seeing them as easily moldable to what he wants soon after forming BloodClan.
What did you use to replace humans and cars (or did I get the wrong AU...)?
Good for this Snowfur - instead of doubling down like she seemed to do in canon lmao. And better on Tigerclaw for getting Whitekit out of the situation then instantly beating Thistelclaw's butt - he deserves it. Can't imagine this has done any good to Bluestar's state of mind.
Poor Firepaw D: what an awful way to be introduced to the clans. Just bad thing after bad thing. And poor Cherrypaw must've felt guilty about this for a while - though she might use this as as the reason to develop a method of "reality checks" for herself so that this doesn't happen again.

Warriors Ship Hypokits- SwiftCloudBrightDaisy Edition
Raise your hand if you shipped Bright and Swift as a kid when you first read the books because you didn’t know they were related. *raises hand* They aren't related in this scenario because I’m living out my childhood “they all live and get together” fantasies through this.
In this AU, Swiftpaw is on patrol with some other cats after the dog pack shows up and encounters the pack attacking a pair of young cats around his age. The tom is lying bloody and motionless on the ground while the molly is valiantly trying to protect him and fight off the dogs on her own despite her own severe wounds. Swiftpaw recklessly joins the fray to save the pair and the rest of the patrol does as well (to also save him after he is predictably quickly overwhelmed). Both of the young cats just barely survive the attack, and they introduce themselves and bond with Swiftpaw while the three of them recover together. The tom is a kittypet named Cloudy who is looking for his uncle who is a Clan cat because he wants to join his Clan, and the molly is a loner named Bright who was separated from her family when they fled from BloodClan; the two banded together to look for their respective relatives but were attacked by the dogs. Cloudy hears Fireheart’s name when Yellowfang greets him and jumps up despite his injuries yelling “UNCLE RUSTY!” at the top of his little kitten lungs. Fireheart is shocked to learn that Cloudy is his sister’s kit. Fireheart manages to convince Bluestar to not go on the Ableist Naming Spree and to let the two join the Clan. Cloudy joins the Clan as Cloudpaw and Bright joins as Brightpaw. When they become Warriors, Swiftpaw becomes Swiftfoot, Cloudpaw becomes Cloudtail, and Brightpaw becomes Brightheart. Brightpaw’s siblings Thorn, Bracken, and Cinder eventually find the Clan and join up as well after a happy reunion. When Daisy eventually joins ThunderClan with her three kits after a falling out with her own two mates Smoky and Floss, she hits it off with them but doesn't go any further because the three of them are already mates with each other and she doesn't want to insert herself somewhere she isn't wanted. They approach her first and she happily becomes their fourth.
The four have three kits together as a foursome (not counting the canon kits that also exist here but are now BrightCloudSwift kits: Whitewing, Ambermoon, Dewnose, and Snowbush) (Swift, Bright, and Cloud also adopt Mouse, Berry, and Hazel too)
Daisy carries these three and their sires are Swiftfoot and Cloudtail:
Roseluck- lithe reddish tortoiseshell molly with blue eyes. Cis molly, straight. This AU’s version of Rosepetal. Roseluck, as her name implies, is an extraordinarily lucky cat who manages to get herself out of bad situations surprisingly well. Her good luck is so legendary that she was assumed to be a Prophecy Cat for a bit until Dovewing was discovered to be the one. Roseluck doesn't mind this, though. Roseluck is overconfident and lazy, believing that things will always go in her favor. She’s perfectly happy to coast by through life without much to worry about. Although she does secretly worry about her luck running out one day... She is a Hunter.
Frogpuddle- heavy and thick-furred black-and-white tom with amber eyes. Cis tom, grayromantic asexual. This AU’s version of Toadstep. Frogpuddle seems to be a magnet for bad luck, the opposite of his sister. He was much more playful and outspoken in his kitten days, but as his bad luck became more and more of a burden he shrunk into himself and became anxious and paranoid. By the time he becomes a warrior he refuses to leave camp at all. He greatly envies his sister’s good luck and dreams of switching places with her a lot. He is a Builder.
Rustyfoot- dark-ginger-and-white tabby tom with light green eyes. Cis tom, bisexual. Named after Firestar’s kittypet name. Rustyfoot is much like Firestar was as a young cat- naive, but brave and stubborn. He is unaffected by the almost supernatural luck possessed by his littermates and is the most normal of the three. He has a competitive streak and likes to have mini-competitions with his friends to see who can catch the most prey and things like that. He is also very ambitious and wants to be Leader someday. Time will tell if he reaches that role or not. He is a Scout and then Deputy.

Book summary for anyone interested
(For everyone who wants to know the AU but doesn't want to read all the little drabbles I've done. Here you guys go. Please enjoy.)
Rusty is a member of Scourge's group until he is lead into the forest by Bugfang, a small kit ghost who brings him to Graypaw, a ThunderClan apprentice.
The two young cats get caught by Bluestar and Lionheart, the former of which invites Rusty to join ThunderClan. After thinking it over Rusty decides to accept her invitation. He gets into a fight with Longtail after being introduced to the clan but when his collar snaps off, he is declared free of his two-legs and is made an apprentice under the name Firepaw and given Willowpelt as a mentor.
Tigerclaw takes an interest in him and gives Firepaw a tour of the territory which ends poorly. Tigerclaw is banned from taking Firepaw out training(by order of Willowpelt).
Firepaw adjusts to clan life and becomes friends with Ravenpaw who turns out to be selectively mute. He also starts a friendly rivalry with Sandpaw, bonding over their mutual discomfort with their mentors flirting during training.
Dustpaw keeps bullying Firepaw to the point they get into a fight and are punished by having to hunt together until they can get along. Dustpaw ditches Firepaw immediately and Firepaw ends up meeting Bugfang and his sister Snowstorm who accidentally lead him to Yellowfang. Firepaw takes pity on Yellowfang and feeds her resulting in him getting in trouble when they get caught.
Yellowfang becomes a prisoner of ThunderClan and Firepaw is put in charge of her care for breaking the warrior code. Yellowfang eventually learns of his ability to see ghosts and warns him not to reveal this ability to ThunderClan which Firepaw agrees with because of past experience in Scourge's group.
Firepaw eventually goes on a hunting assessment with the other apprentices and ends up running into Princess. They catch up a bit and eventually part ways. Willowpelt confronts Firepaw about this and questions his loyalty to which Firepaw swears still belongs to ThunderClan. She trusts him and doesn't tell Bluestar.
Firepaw is allowed to attend his first gathering and ends up overhearing a RiverClan apprentice tell the tale of how Oakheart was killed and notes how its different from the one Tigerclaw apparently told which makes him suspicious. Brokenstar announces that he kicked out WindClan and threatens to do the same to ThunderClan and RiverClan if they don't hand over parts of their territory. Crookedstar buys the clans some time asking for their answers to be given at the next gathering. Brokenstar then warns the clan about Yellowfang being a baby killer sending Firepaw rushing back to camp to warn Yellowfang to flee. She refuses.
Bluestar tells ThunderClan to prepare for war and then goes off to the Moonstone to discuss what to do about Yellowfang and Brokenstar. Firepaw, Graypaw and Sandpaw get to accompany her and get to have visions of their own. Firepaw is warned about the prophecy surrounding him that warns about the clans' fates being in his paws.
Bluestar wakes the apprentices up and rushes them back to camp where its being attacked by ShadowClan. Rosetail and Redtail are killed during the battle and Bluestar loses a life. Yellowfang is welcomed into the clan and Tigerclaw is made deputy. Ravenpaw has a panic attack and runs out of camp so Firepaw chases after him to calm him down and learns that Tigerclaw murdered the former deputy Sweetwhisker.
Firepaw and Ravenpaw go out hunting the next day and Firepaw reveals his ability to see ghosts to Ravenpaw so he can go and speak to Sweetwhisker. Firepaw quickly becomes frustrated with Sweetwhisker when she answers things vaguely and warns him about ghosts meddling with the livings affairs.
Firepaw tells Bluestar about Tigerclaw being a liar and Bluestar warns him about trusting RiverClan cats. Frostfur's kits end up going missing and in the search Spottedleaf is found injured in her den. Yellowfang is blamed for this so Bluestar sends Firepaw after her to learn the truth. Firepaw gets Ravenpaw and Graypaw to come along and Sandpaw ends up following them as well.
The four apprentices sneak onto ShadowClan territory and find Yellowfang who explains her innocence. She comes up with a plan and goes to collect the ShadowClan elders who have been banished from camp while Sandpaw and Graypaw go to collect some ThunderClan warriors. They join forces to attack ShadowClan camp and take down Brokenstar. Yellowfang half blinds Brokenstar and takes one of his lives before forcing him to confess to all the cats he's killed.
Brokenstar is exiled, followed by his most loyal followers. Nightpelt thanks ThunderClan for their help and Frostfur's kits are returned to them. They return to camp where Yellowfang is given the healers position until Spottedleaf can take it back. Graystripe, Sandstorm, Ravenwing and Fireheart are all made warriors.

First family tree post here we go
So, I've spent countless hours coming up with different family combinations for the ThunderClan cats we see spawn into existence for Into The Wild. I did go in wanting to create the Ultimate Canon-Compliant Family Tree as established in the first arc, but at this point there's still so many options it could be and I'm mostly just exploring them for fun. I do have a few rules that I stick to when I do these though.
1. I disregard retcons after 2009. This means I don't consider family established after-the-fact to be canon. The main offender of this is Bluestar's Prophecy and the other prequels, but also includes Code of the Clans as it's clear the cats they bring up were from the Bluestar's Prophecy drafts. I've grown affectionate of the early ThunderClan cats from my time trying to get them to work before, but it just introduces so many inconsistencies, especially with timeline and ages, that I choose not to work with them most of the time now
2. Ages of the cats are what they appear to be from the first arc. This is kind of included in #1 as the prequel books are what set the ages of a lot of cats, but even still I use textual evidence in the first original 6 books over anything else
3. Textual evidence is word. I disregard word-of-god retcons from the Erins and use textual evidence for all my combinations. This means looking at how characters interact with each other for hints of their existing relationship
4. I prevent future incest best I can. We all know how infamous the family tree is for this, but it's not too hard to avoid once I already have the can't-be-family cats in mind. I also don't consider 3 generations away to be incest anymore. Paired cats can't share grandparents, but they can share great-grandparents, especially since most the cats in the books don't even pay attention to or remember their family that far up
From there I come up with different "soft" rules to follow for each new tree I try, such as cutting down on how many cats have multiple litters, comparing how many parents there are in arcs 3 and 4 to match to arc 1 by size, matching cats by pelt color, etc. But this is the basis I work off of and will have this here for future reference

Bad things to put in children's books that Warriors has put in children's books (without properly indicating that these are bad):
If you are a child and an adult tells you to meet him somewhere secluded at night, do it and don't tell anyone! (Spottedleaf's Heart)
If you are disabled you're basically, like, useless. (Every book where a disabled character is introduced or a character becomes disabled)
If you cannot swim you're still supposed to jump in the water to save someone drowning. If you don't you will go to hell. (Mapleshade's Vengeance)
If a guy likes you and is pushy, you should just fall in love with him. (basically every book with a female protagonist besides Bluestar's Prophecy)
If you were bad in the past, you cannot be redeemed if you become good. Ever. (A Light in the Mist)
