Dani should Kidnap The Clones.
It's basicly protective custody. Preemptive child services, if you will. NONE of these fuckers out here makin adorable clone baby just cause they want kids!
*kicks down the door to your shady lab* Knock Knock! ITS THE POLICE! *Walker's Shock troopers swarm the place as Dani secures the kids*
Look me in the eyes. You KNOW he'd love an excuse to enforce The Rules on people technically outside his jurisdiction. It's for The Children(tm)! Why, he simply had no CHOICE!
Meanwhile? Dani is shoving all these mal-adjusted Murder Clones into her Lair? Which is? Basicly a Door style Lair she hid inside Danny's Lair for safe keeping. It's shoved behind a vending machine just outside the observatory. And the inside? Goes on for DAYS.
Like national parks and every beautiful beach she ever came across. She smashed together the BEST sights and places she's found in her travels, like a collection. Always adding more. New waterfalls, new noodle shops, new fields of wine grapes. It's... beautiful. Snapshots of every wonderous little thing about Earth, stitched together.
They can't hurt anyone. Can't achieve their "objectives". Are just treated like actual individuals and the children they truely are. Are surrounded by other Clones. So it's NORMAL here. Just? All of it.
But also?
Dani and Dan? Teaming up to make History's Scariest Adoption Agency(TM). Dan runs it. Dan wants to know why EXACTLY you want a kid. Explain yourself to Dan. What are your references? Qualifications. He's doing a home visit to inspect the premises. He BETTER not find any suspicious Labs.
And? It just? Appears out of nowhere. It's powered by Zone Bullshit. One second you're thinking "oh woe is me D:> I will never have a child to fill my lovely home, because of all my Superhero Secrets and also because government bureaucracy!" And the next?
.....wasn't that an out of business taco bell? "Zone Adoptions"?
"....Free Clone Baby?"
Okay that is HIGHLY suspicious and as a hero you are basicly legally obligated to investigate. But now it's bigger on the inside? Fancy waiting room? You are being interrogated? Wait, no, you're supposed to be the one doing the-?
Somehow? You leave with your Clone Son from another Dimension. And a pamphlet. You're scheduled for a home visit in three days. You... you never told them where you live.
Somehow that doesn't seem like it will slow them down.
Did the Fae just Suprise Baby you with a clone baby? Can they DO that? W... what's happening? What days is this? Who ARE YOU PEOPLE?! HUH!?!?
Just? Imagine. IMAGINE. I was gonna say Bruce... but?
Damian.
He finds himself... pondering What Could Have Been. Had his Clones not wanted him dead. Wondering if he could have saved them. If, perhaps, he had found them as infants. Raised them. Could he have given them a good life? Been a good father?
He gets emotional. Fatherly. He's about 14.
Dan's been around Ghosts too long to remember how humans age or how age relates to development. This one TALKS like An Adult. Must be one. Probably just short.
And Damian? Never backs down. The second Dan starts challenging him? His character is flawless and his morals divine. He has never done anything wrong, ever, in his LIFE. Fuck you. And on TOP of that? He not only will be the SINGLE GREATEST FATHER TO EVER FATHER, his home is the most loving and beloved ON THE PLANET!
In entirety of EARTH'S history, no less!
....what are they arguing about?
*is handed a baby and kicked out of Dan's adoption agency*
See you in a few days!
(o.o ) *happy gurgling from the baby* *Damian.exe has stopped working*
Smash cut, after Damian speed runs his stages of grief at his own Dumbass Life Choices, to his rocking back up at the Manor like? Congratulations, Father. I have brought you your first grandson! Do Not ask how I obtained him. It was likely dubiously legal but I will not be returning him. We have bonded.
And just? Annihilating the collective Bats on one go. You did what? You have What?! That is a baby! WHY IS THERE A BABY?! How is there a baby!? WHOS BABY!? *sirens going off and everyone panicking*
Will Damian be allowed to KEEP the Baby? Ha! Hell no. Bruce will. Damian is a child. But it will be a Needlessly Dramatic Bat Cold War Of Dramatic Drama to pry that small cherubic baby from his grip long enough for Bruce to fill out the paperwork.
Child thieving bastard that he is. How dare he. That is Damian's SON! D:<
*happy oblivious baby noises as Alfred feeds him in the background, while the Bats do their Dramatic Custody War*

I am OBSESSED with Spider-Man Suguru …. YOUR MIND
he's such an ominous figure when he's got the mask on but turns into a nerdy grump when he takes it off. kinda wanna see him in thick-rimmed glasses and sweatpants, lazing around and recuperating from his latest mission. sleep deprived and a little weary, the languid motion of him tossing and turning in a creaky bed made up of duvets and pillows he's stacked strategically, covers pulled over the bird nest atop his head. doesn't want to think about detangling on his off day.
but you like the suit. always had. in another life, you see him crouched on a rooftop, silhouette highlighted by a neon sign, rain pelting against him. how menacing. suguru's got angst brooding within him. withholding the chance to move on, or rather he doesn't intend to. so what if he's become obsessive, talking to screens and dreaming about you. modeling his holographic companions after your figure, your face, your voice. spent forever getting it just right. coding a line or two or a hundred and changing the input repeatedly. the first draft appears before him then. not too nice, not too mean. perfection glowing before him with the same smile you wear, flittering over his shoulder, snuggled up to his cheek, fitting in the crook of his palm as you give him updates on everything. "they're having a sale at the supermarket," says virtual assistant you, and he actually does make a trip there. buying himself a nice box of stock for dinner before he realizes that it's the first time he's actually made himself a meal. a year late but still, it's better than takeout or vending machine natto.
although, he would still prefer a tangible, physical you that isn't made up of glitching pixels. to caress skin and flesh, kiss the very breath from you and feel it graze his own lips. puffing out gasping cries and guttural moans, exhaling his name in exaltation, he'll swallow them up.
he's had a bad day. you can tell because he's abandoned the hot meal and even hotter shower for this. storming towards you with heavy steps and his heavy breaths puffing through his mask. why should you fear spiderman. hero, and saviour of the world. that he's been teasing you, taunting you. so what if he's got your wrists tied up around a tangle of webs. only after he's pulled from you a scream and the third orgasm of that night do you wonder.
spandex serves its purpose when it's hugging muscled arms so strong, bending and straining tight as he cages in, looms above you, his weight steady you can't help but to surrender to how good the pressure feels. the tilt of his head is condescending, enough to show you he isn't impressed, "you made a mess," suguru doesn't even try to be sympathetic. merely stating it as if it was all your fault for squirting all over his oh-so-precious suit. you'd question him on the occasion at hand, he'd been the one who wanted you to come undone on his dick.
legs locked tight behind him, his cock slides in just that bit further, deeper. a surprised squeal slipping past your lips. "easy now," you used to tease whenever he's gotten too eager, too hungry. but you're at a loss for words when the roles are reversed here. especially when the sharp point of his fangs skim over a patch of skin he's come to know as one of your most sensitive spots. right where it won't hurt you too much, he determines where they should sink in and leave behind no more than two perfectly formed puncture wounds, no bruising, no blood. well, maybe just a little, the iron tang he laps at is addictive. is alive.

totally didnt write this after watching an initial d episode (i stop every now and then because it's weird for me)
// use of the adjective 'pretty', nsfw???
former street racer toji who's now encouraging his son, megumi, to join street races if he wants to. the car toji used before is an heirloom passed down to his soon. megumi's pretty new to the business, but he's already showing great potential, especially as someone who's already competing with people older than him. he's planning to rope his friends into racing.
you're just a passerby at the time, decided to stop by a shed with two vending machines somewhere where, well, everyone in the neighborhood knows is turned into a racing circuit for street racers. you know that the races are often at night for obvious reasons, and because this is a popular circuit due to its location, some racers go all the way to this place to compete.
all these racers and audience who love racing are engrossed in the atmosphere. despite being completely not into racing, you get sucked in their energy. you can tell some of them are not locals, but everyone knows them.
finest of the finest.
undefeated.
fastest and most up-to-date models.
to be honest, you don't even have a car to begin with. all their terminologies seem so alien to you. when you've finished your snacks, you pick up your bicycle and kick up side stand. as much as you want to camouflage behind the tall spectators, some of them notice you. you're not exactly popular in the city, but they happen to be the people you know. they call your name, causing attention to shift to you. fuck my life. you appreciate attention, but not when pairs of eyes dart at you.
one of them happens to be fushiguro megumi. you sort of know him. your brother works part-time at the high school where megumi is studying. you try to avoid the unwanted whispers and gazes as you walk up to him. he's leaning against the door of his car with his arms crossed under his chest. "hi, megumi. didn't know you race," you say, small smile plastered on your face. since he also knows you and your relation to his teacher, he bows in respect.
"hello," he greets you. "are you here to watch?"
you shake your head. "felt hungry on my way home so i stopped by at the shed over there." you cock your head to your left to gesture at the green-lit shed. "good luck, megumi." you pat his shoulder. he shows you a small smile as he bows, but his attention shifts to the men who aren't ashamed of talking about you, wondering who you might be, guessing if they've seen you somewhere because your resemblance to your brother can mistake you as twins.
"don't mind them," he tells you. "are you sure you can go home? your bike's front light is broken."
you peer down to look at your front light, then you set your eyes back to him. "streetlights. i'll stay as close to the sides—"
"no," he's gotten used to using honorifics in addressing you, and you already gave up on correcting him. "my dad's here. he can take you home. he brought his pickup, so you can put your—"
the race is about to start. they call megumi's name and he turns. "time's up for chitchats. and megumi, enough talking with that pretty person over there," the guy winks at you. stunned, you don't react. "i'll keep this pretty one company if you'd like—"
"no need," you wave it off. "good night."
as much as you've shown nonchalance and calmness (to which most of the marvel at and may have been more attracted to you), you can feel your organs shivering in your body.
the pickup megumi mentioned is hidden behind the crowd because of the wide distance between streetlights, not to mention how little their areas of illumination are. the warm light in the vehicle, however, lights up, and you see megumi's father, whom you've never actually seen in person. he's his father because of the uncanny resemblance. his eyes are boring holes in your head, like a predator eyeing his prey, or a hunter aiming his arrow at his target.
the lump in your throat is a heavy one and you struggle to gulp it down. not only is his stare intimidating, he's attractive. way too attractive. the scar slashed on the side of his lips is the cherry on top. your gut is burning, rendering your legs too heavy to move. you power through regardless, forcing yourself to walk past his car.
as you're about to hop on your bike, you hear the thud of a car door closing and nearly lose your balance as you turn behind you, other leg folded midair.
"careful." his voice isn't deep like a sound deep in the ocean, yet you feel the chill rise from your feet to your hair. the distance closes between you two, and that's the only time you process how tall he is. he leans against the open, elongated trunk, arm resting on the rubbered edge. "now i wonder why you'll ride your bike in a dark road and no front light."
if i don't call the gods to give me strength, i will fall down and die. he makes you weak and you barely know him.
you don't have enough brain power to answer considering the aura of this man beside you and your strong will to go home. just in time ⎯ the race starts, and it's loud as hell. both of you turn to look at them, and then back to each other. "race started. if you don't wanna get hit by a car and thrown into a ditch, you should stay here and wait for it to end."
a heavy sigh leaves your mouth as your shoulders sag. even when megumi's dad, fushiguro toji (your brother said), doesn't stop you from going further, you really won't make it home. now both of you are leaning against the car, looking at the uproar. "um," you want to say something, and the moment a sound leaves your throat, he instantly shifts his eyes to you, and that then adds pressure and hinders you from continuing. his eyebrows rise up, as if waiting for you to continue speaking.
"i hope it isn't going to be troublesome for you to drive me home⎯"
"it will be more troublesome if i let you go home by yourself. you'll get into an accident." then he diverts his eye contact from you again, arms crossing under his chest. "i'd be damned if i let you get into an accident and scar your pretty face." he says this with a confident grin, in contrast with your stunned expression and tomato-red cheeks. he chuckles when he sees your face. "just stay and watch the race. megumi won't disappoint you."
so you do.
you're hearing it ⎯ megumi's ahead, stunning everyone. toji's smirk doesn't leave his face, even as he occasionally looks at his wrist to check the time. the thing is, you're already quite tired before this, so you shift your weight to your right. you wince though, because the ball of your right feet already hurts. you crouch, avoiding the tire of the car. then he notices.
"get in." two words, but you don't need more to follow him. when you stand up and reach for the handle of the backseat's car door, his hand catches yours, moving it away. "passenger seat."
"why?"
"because you're pretty."
you're furrowing your eyebrows in confusion but it doesn't divert his attention from your blushing cheeks. "...okay?" he grins again, probably knowing the way his expression is attracting you to him.
it's loud outside but silent in the car. toji turns on the radio and an old r&b song plays, filling the silent area of the car. he doesn't shift in his position except for just putting his left hand ⎯ well, wrist, specifically ⎯ on the steering wheel, naturally used to just looking at out despite the scenery unchanging. from your peripheral vision, you stare at his features just to brush off the awkwardness and inner tension you feel. when he rolls down the window, slightly leaning over. because of this, you see the sharpness of his jawline. actually, no, it's a perfectly blend of soft and sharp, perhaps from age. peaking out from his round collar is a tattoo. it's probably not maintained as the black ink is not prominent anymore. he's wearing a long-sleeved shirt that's trying its best not to pop. his chest is not protruding intentionally, it's just that his chest is... big.
peripheral vision doesn't help you that much and you inadvertently turn your head to look (stare) at him. arms almost ripping the sleeve fabric apart, the big ass chest, and then down to his thighs. he's wearing sweatpants that matches his sweatshirt. his thighs are toned from working out, and the sculpt of it molds the fabric, thus making it visible. you honestly didn't know how attractive in all areas megumi's dad was, and if you did, you probably would've replaced your brother.
"you plan on just staring at me the whole time, pretty?"
you flush at this, despite knowing he would be able to tell if you're staring at him. you couldn't help it, and toji seems to not see this in vain. in fact, he's enjoying it. he doesn't care about attention, and doesn't even go to parent-teacher conferences anyway. your brother has already given up on making him go, but on your part, there has to be a way for him to even show up and make himself available for his son's academics and not just racing.
"i mean," you shrug, "you seem to like it."
one mere reply has drained every bit of confident you have left. you're surprised you even that much stored after this socially disastrous night. he turns his head, looking at you with a smirk (default expression? perhaps). eventually, he rolls up the window, but never moves his eyes away from you. "not seem, pretty. i do enjoy it when your eyes are only focused on me."
"you just met me and you're already flirt⎯"
he raises an eyebrow as if you're wrong. "you think? sometimes i pick up megumi while i'm parking at a fast food chain across his school. you walk him out sometimes along with his friends. i know who you are," then drawls the syllables of your name. as much as i'd like to say that's lowkey creepy, your gut says otherwise. "hmm, if it means i'll get to see you more often, i might to go to the PTCs after all."
your brother will be eternally grateful to you.
you can't control the grin on your face as you look away.
"aww, getting all bashful?" he teases you, then poking his finger in your waist, and when you jolt, he realizes that you have a tickle spot there. he laughs when you glare at him. "you're getting cuter," he says and you hate how you react to the way he says your name. "you really are so cute," he adds as your cheeks burn.
as if by instinct, his eyes go down to your thighs. pajamas yes, its flowy fabric doesn't show the figure of your thighs that much, but you can't really stop squeezing your hand in between your thighs. no seem ⎯ he's enjoying the way you react to him. but he doesn't have to say anything else. congratulations, you've regained your confidence! it does look like you won't be able to sleep when you get home. and don't worry about home ⎯ your brother is dead from all the papers on his desk and is probably asleep on the floor next to his swivel chair.
"where are you going with this flirting, mr. fushiguro? care to share it with the rest?"
oh, he loves it, especially when you slowly move your hand out of the friction between your thighs, then gripping the side of the cushioned seat.
"you really want to know, baby?"
you shrug, smiling confidently. "i'm quite eager to learn from you."
he pokes his tongue in his cheek in amusement. "sit on my lap then."
while that really catches you off guard, you follow him anyway. you carefully move to his lap, not wanting to accidentally move the shifting gear. you shift in your position as you try to saddle your legs in between him. already experienced with this, you hold onto his shoulder while adjusting yourself to fit perfectly on his lap. he makes raspy sound, instinctively and slightly bucking his hips from your movement. your body is scalding from the sexual tension and it's fogging your mind with all sorts of sexual fantasies, completely crushing your rationality.
neither of you say anything at all. you just dip into his scent and kiss. it's a sweet kiss at first, but as you both keep pressing yourself into each other, it gets sloppy. your mouths open to move your tongues, spit streaming down your chin. you let out a moan from the pleasure of being in his bubble, no privacy left between you. but you both move away, staring at each other, facial expressions unchanging. slowly, you pull up your shirt, as if telling him to play with your nipples as you make out. he obliges, one hand on your chest, the other on your lower back, beckoning you to move closer. from the action itself, you can feel something pocking your crotch. he only grins at you before you both kiss again.
"you've kissed a lot with those lips, haven't you?"
you innocently (wow!) smile at him. "yes, but i don't bother remembering their names." that gives him an idea.
"i'll make sure you won't ever forget this one," he says, cocksure. "that when you see me, you'll instantly remember this, and you'll think about it while you're mind is drifting somewhere else." you moan at his declaration, and the sound itself causes him to buck his hips again. "guess i'm quite attractive to you, aren't i, baby?"
you let your chest but pushed against his own when he moves his hands to your ass, letting you grind against his clothed erection, building more tension that both of you are struggling to handle. for leverage, you place one hand on the shoulder of his seat. he starts moaning into kiss as you start whimpering from the overwhelming pleasure. his lips then trail kisses until he reaches your neck. you arch your back to give him leverage, sucking on your skin, bruising it. he chuckles at his work, but it chokes in his throat when you grind too hard and his precum is already dampening his boxers too much.
to thank him for such a lovely mark on your neck, pepper his neck with your kisses as you grind, oh my god, he loves it so much. the sounds he makes motivate you to keep getting him on his high. you're doing too well with this that he's enjoying it so much. but then you start whimpering and whining and mewling against his neck as your nipples are too hard and sensitive. your inner thighs are just as sensitive, shaking from the increasing sensitivity.
"wait, toji, i⎯"
he then whispers into your ear, attempting to be soft but rasps his words instead. "you wanna take off your pants—"
"wait, i-i can't m-move."
"hm? how so?"
as much as your pride is telling you not to make it obvious that despite making out with people in the past, you've never fucked or got fucked. this is why this is too overwhelming for you, but toji is experienced to know that it's your first time. your sounds keep trailing after the other, so one of his hands move up to your waist as though he were guiding you. "what do you feel right now?"
"something's dripping but i can't⎯"
he grins. "too much for you, baby?"
you hum in response, burying your head in the juncture of his neck and shoulder. you're trying to catch your breath as your body fails to keep itself sane and together. "i-i don't know." toji's emotions are all over the place. he saw this one coming, but he didn't know how pleasing this would be. "g-gonna..."
"gonna what, baby?"
"c-cum."
"you want to come?" he's gotten soft especially as your grinds become consistent but lazy. "haven't even got my cock in your hole yet, pretty baby. you've got me too excited to find out how fucked out you'll look when you get the real thing."
"s-stop it, toji, i can't hold it back anymore."
"then say it," he grips your ass and waist harder. "tell me what you want to do and what you want me to do."
"let me come, toji, please."
"and your pajamas?" he laughs.
"and your sweatpants?" you giggle.
toji hums and bucks his hips again to tease you. you let out the most high-pitched, salacious moan as you finally throw your head back in overwhelming pleasure. your heart has forgotten how many beats it has to beat in a second. he moans, too, as a response, you both can feel the damp in each other's pants. you then realize that the strain in his voice meant he was trying to suppress his own declaration of pleasure just to surprise you. your pants are mixing together as you both try to catch your breath.
his hand moves up from your ass to your waist, intertwin his hands together against your back, forming an embrace. your shirt is pulled down now, and you're about to fall asleep (i thought you're not sleepy!) against his shoulder.
"wanna do it again, pretty baby?"
you hum in response.
"say it. i used my words, didn't !"
you gulp. "yes. i wanna do it again."
"good, my pretty baby. it'll be far better next time." you hum because you're really just tired already. "try to cycle more so you can keep up with the pace when i fuck you, 'kay?"
since he's just as sleepy, you both don't nice megumi walking up to the pickup. with his two cupped hands, he sees you and his dad in such a ridiculous position. he almost bangs the window, then realizes the door isn't even bothered to be locked. he opens the door and sees the ridiculous position clearer than earlier.
"what the actual fuck."
smut is so hard to write like how do i write about people fucking and they didn't even fuck other than clothed sex erm.... i'm so sorry megumi btw

summary: Jujutsu Tech sends its students on a lot of real shit "school trips". You're kind of over this one || Then, giving and taking memories as they come. cw: teenaged bitterness, well deserved but misdirected I took a break from the scheduled programming to finish something that's been sitting in my drafts since may 21. it's always struck me as interesting that every sorcerer gets a raw deal, is essentially sacrificed for the public good in some way, but Riko is the one for whom this is a tragedy and the reason for that is she's the first one anyone tries to save, except it doesn't end well
Tumblr media
You softly exited the room, silencing the heavy ker-thunk of hotel doors.
The carpet down the center of the hall was thick and soft, the best that clan money could buy, and you welcomed the feel against your aching heels. It swallowed your footsteps so easily you didn't bother making yourself more quiet. Maybe that was your first mistake.
"Where are you going?"
Satoru appeared like a ghost, eyes wide, face blank, before he quickly corrected and there was the curious face of your friend classmate friend once more.
You considered lying, and then wondered why.
"I'm going to call Shoko."
You're both speaking softly, near whispering, as though there's anyone around to hear you.
"Is there anything I should look out for?"
"If you were worried about that, you shouldn't leave." There's a sort of pinched look worming its way to the forefront of Satoru's expression.
"I'm not going far," you replied.
He didn't answer your question.
"Riko's dozing," you added, she wouldn't miss you. Did that sound defensive? You hoped not. It wasn't as though you were forbidden from leaving the girl's side at seven in the evening. It wasn't even fully dark yet.
As though sensing the subtle tension in the air, the suite door opened again and Suguru came out.
"Are you two fighting?" he asked, although his voice held no real regard.
"I just don't see why you need to leave," Satoru finally said, a testy snap to his voice. "There's plenty of room."
"Maybe because-"
"I'll come with."
Suguru cuts you off before you can say something you'll likely regret, not that you don't already. Satoru is and will be under some physical stress for the next fifteen hours or so. He doesn't need you snapping at him for things far beyond his sphere of concern.
"Riko-" Satoru starts, words flat, cold.
"That's why Haibara and Nanami-kun are here," Suguru says smoothly. "And I want a coffee."
Like there wasn't a pot and instant packs in the rooms, but none of them were Suguru's favorite brand.
Satoru backed off immediately, shoulders dropping, his weight falling onto his back foot.
"Yeah, okay. Grab me a cola while you're there."
"Will do." Suguru smiled.
You tipped your head in farewell to Satoru and turned around. Suguru was half a step behind, hands in his pockets, matching your stride.
"Your turn to buy," he said sweetly.
He had the audacity to snicker at what you were sure was a poorly hidden look of frustration.
He didn't stop you when you went further than the nearest set of vending machines, turning down another hallway entirely and going to a quieter place you'd found when walking through the building during the initial patrol.
You pushed coins into the slot, hyper-alert for any kind of disturbance in case bounty hunters decided to try to thin out the ranks standing between them and a sizeable payout. It had been easy to draw on the well of defiance in your heart when Satoru confronted you, but now as far away as you were comfortable getting, you were well aware that you were not as strong as your classmates and you had no idea of the collective strength of the enemy.
You'd put a couple hundred yen into the machine before looking at what was actually in it.
Suguru reached over your shoulder and pressed the button for a bottle of barley tea.
"No coffee?"
"Changed my mind," he said, picking two different kinds of soda and then a bottle of juice. "At least one of us needs to be well rested tomorrow morning."
"You could just drink it in the morning."
He passed you an amused glance and snorted when you punched the button for his preferred flavor when he made no move to do so himself.
You looked over the cans and bottles and picked a few nice sounding ones you'd never seen in Tokyo before.
"We're never going to finish all those," he pointed out.
You left them in the delivery slot. You still hadn't made your phone call.
"They're for Riko," you said. You picked one more and a bottle of water for yourself before collecting the change from the slot.
You bent down and grabbed the water. Suguru was right, this was too much. It was going to be a pain to carry upstairs.
Suguru sat in an armchair that had been tucked away by a potted plant. He broke the seal on his tea while you picked at the label on the water.
He looked up at you and then tilted the tea your way. After a moment, you took it, sipping carefully before passing it back.
The rooms in the building had air conditioning, but the hallways were still sticky with Okinawa's heat. You leaned your cheek on the bottle and closed your eyes, letting tension fade from your neck and jaw.
Your blade pressed comfortingly against your back.
"Riko doesn't really need all this sugar," Suguru said.
You bit the tip of your tongue, an unwitting smile at the corner of your mouth but... would Suguru understand?
You shrugged, letting the smile show.
"It's just for fun."
You waved when you slipped out through a pair of doors at the back of the hotel into a long shadowed walk.
"Hey," Shoko picked up on the third ring.
"Hey," you sighed. You tipped the bottle of water back and forth, the contents sloshing about.
"How's it going?"
You slid your thumbnail under the label.
"I've never been on a protection mission before," you replied.
"We don't really do those," Shoko agreed.
You wondered where she was, what she was doing.
"Where did you go?"
The wall was sun-warmed against your shoulder, the stucco rough over your shirt.
"Took her to the aquarium. We did the mangrove boats earlier and the temple."
Shoko hummed. "Sounds like a busy day."
"Exhausting," you agreed. It hadn't been that bad though. Sure Satoru had insisted on dragging you right along at every stop, never mind that it meant leaving the first years behind.
Riko had claimed that having you and the other students visibly playing bodyguard looked ridiculous, made people stare at her, so the "compromise" had been to have you stay with them and the first years take perimeter.
You'd been all but yanked into a shop with Kuroi and told that you and she needed to buy something that didn't look like a uniform.
It hadn't been bad. You didn't know why you were feeling this way.
Burning and bitter. Stifled.
You could have called Shoko from anywhere else but you'd needed to get away.
"I wish we were coming home," you murmured. It felt spoiled and petulant, but you were tired of Okinawa, tired of Satoru and Riko's seemingly boundless enthusiasm, tired of waiting for things to jump out from behind bushes at you. This wasn't a vacation for you or any of the others despite the lovely weather and the frivolous spending. You would have much preferred to catch a redeye and fallen asleep in your own bed.
But Riko didn't want her one perfect day to end.
"What's the girl like?" Shoko asked.
You closed your eyes.
Shoko was a master at swallowing unfairness.
The heat of an Okinawa summer beat against your face. The bottle was cool against your neck.
You leaned your head back against the building.
"You'll see." You took a deep breath. The hotel gardens perfumed the air. Late summer meant dropped blooms were already rotting near the roots of their mother plants.
And she probably would, because Satoru looked like he was planning to do something stupid. And Suguru would go along with it.
"Want any souvenirs?" you asked after Shoko hummed in vague agreement.
She laughed suddenly, "What, like a pineapple? Yeah, sure."
"Or like glass?" you shouldn't in any way be encouraging her drinking habit, but the cups you'd seen in some of the shop windows were beautiful, reminded you of her with their shifting colors and the bubbles suspended in their rise like a whisper.
"You think glass is going survive a trip with those two?" she asked, voice amused and ironic on the other side of the line. There was a click, like she was shifting candy or a toothpick between her teeth.
That finally made you laugh too. "Then I guess you'll have to come with me, right? Or I can come back with you? We'll leave them back in Tokyo."
"Yes please," she replied, kindly. "It's been so quiet here."
"Just you and the corpses." It was a bit macabre, but it was familiar humor between the two of you.
"You're missing out," Shoko replied. "One of them really likes Mori Ougai. I've been learning a lot"
"Oh really."
"The book got printed all over their body."
You winced.
"It means I won't have to study for our next exam."
"You don't study anyways."
"That's because I have a fantastic memory," Shoko said, playing at haughtiness.
There was a sound from the way you came. A door opening.
You sighed. Suguru came around the corner, putting his own phone back in his pocket. He looked apologetic.
Shoko had noticed your pause. "Time to go back?"
You held your breath for a moment, trying to rationalize Satoru's insistence. It wasn't as though he didn't have enough to take care of, what with drawing Riko out of her shell. "Yeah."
She paused for a minute, neither of you hung up yet.
"Which one is it?" she asked, but as ever she didn't seem very concerned with the answer.
"Which one do you think," you replied, turning towards Suguru.
"You honestly think I'd be able to pick?" she asked.
You felt the corner of your mouth twitch up into a smile. "See you tomorrow, Shoko." Your voice was soft and longing. Tomorrow was a long ways away.
Tumblr media
It had been a very long day, and for the first time in a while you were lying in Shoko's bed. Unlike most of the time you spent with her, conversation had turned to the old days, and then to a few handful of days in particular.
Your old friend didn't like to be seen dwelling on the past. But today was one of the exceptions.
Shoko poked at the scar over your ribs. "You never told me what she was like," she said. The tone of her voice implied she didn't care one way or the other. You knew she wouldn't be asking if she wasn't at least a little bit curious.
With a sigh, you dredged up those sun-drenched memories, still tasting like overdone caramel. Like salt and petrol fumes.
"She was a privileged little shut-in," you muttered carelessly. "Although it wasn't her fault she never got to see the real world." That much was obvious now.
Once upon a time you would have felt badly for the bitter bite of your tone, but Shoko among all those who understood those long ago school days and that week in particular would not judge you for it.
Shoko hadn't stopped tracing the scar, her gaze as steady as ever.
"She wanted to believe being special protected her, made her..." you searched for a word, "invulnerable, I guess, to consequences."
You shivered. Shoko rested her fingers against your chest.
"Young." She'd been so young. You could still feel the living softness of her body, like a baby bird, mouth open for something, the weave of her school uniform, the way her tie had tickled your wrist.
You couldn't even remember drawing the wakizashi. It was just suddenly in your hand, your other hand pressing Riko back, your body half-shielding hers, the point of a sword sticking out of Satoru's chest like some kind of sick magic trick.
"Sounds like someone we know," Shoko said, amused.
You smiled, mirroring her emotion. Quickest wit of the four of you.
"I think that's why he, why they, did it. In the end. Why they decided to try and save her."
Shoko blinked at you. Her lashes brushed her cheeks. The dark shadows beneath her eyes made the flecks of darker brown in her eyes stand out. You reached out and stopped short of touching them although her smile told you she knew you wanted to.
"I've got a cream for these."
"So do I," she replied evenly.
You shifted, accepting her unspoken chastisement.
"They always were like that," she sighed, with all the implication that they'd both been foolish, idealists on a collision course. And that you were not.
You lifted your hand a bit into the air, grasping at nothing. "None of us want to believe in fate, even though it finds us anyways." The accumulation of choice was inescapable, only avoidable for a time.
"Do you believe in fate?" Shoko asked curiously. She was laid on her side, hair still wet, strewn about on the comforter.
"Who knows," you said on an exhale, closing your eyes and pulling your hand back to your chest. Maybe some people had one. Oaths with whatever dark matter made up heaven. Like the Six Eyes and Vessel of Stars.
You turned toward her and she finally pulled her hand from your ribs as that old wound was hidden against the bed. "I'd never seen anyone try to save someone else from it before."
Not until then. And even though you understood it, for a long, long time it had still hurt. Because no one had ever stepped up to do the same for any of you.
Shoko's expression was enigmatic, her eyes soft at the corners. "Most sorcerers never try it. Going against the grain."
Not her. Not you. The most you'd maybe tried to do was punish yourself for it, and even that had been a failure. You'd never been able to stay far enough away from other people to spare your heart.
"I wish--" you trailed off and her eyes went harder and softer.
It was a look of someone who had the same wish and had long ago given up on it. Given up on hoping to be strong enough to escape the shape of their own life, or break someone else out of theirs.
"Well." You trailed off. "We can't escape ourselves, after all."
Shoko snorted. "If you would get drunk with me sometime you'd change your mind."
"No thanks. I think I'd actually die."
"Like I'd let you," she said with a little scoff.
Your eyes brightened. "Aw, thanks."
She waved you off with a lazy flap of her hand. "You still owe me a weekend trip." Her usual sighing drawl made it seem like it was no big deal.
"Shoko remembers everything," you said with a somewhat teasing manner. "Do you want to go soon?"
She hummed, letting her weight sink deeper into the mattress. "Yeah. Maybe this summer. Wanna go?"
"With you?" you asked, leaning on your arm. "Anywhere."

let me shill you japanese columbo
Do you like Columbo? Do you like police procedurals starring grumbly, slightly eccentric ossans? Do you believe in the power of shoujo manga?! Well, do I have the show for you!
Introducing....Furuhata Ninzaburō!
Tumblr media
Written by genius playwright Koki Mitani and starring the extremely charismatic jidaigeki star Masakazu Tamura, Furuhata Ninzaburo is a detective drama directly inspired by Columbo (not to be confused with...Shinano no Columbo, which yes, exists). Its got the murders, its got the mystery, its got an unreasonably good theme song, and there's middle aged man with the mannerisms you love to see. The formula usually goes as follows:
Furuhata-san stands in the dark void, talking about riding bicycles or something or another to setup the theme of the story.
You see the baddie do the murder and try to cover it up. Yesiree, you see the murder-- because the fun comes from watching it all unravel!
Furuhata-san appears (possibly struggling with a vending machine, or bicycling with some half-price daikon) and catches a whiff of something funny ahead of time.
Cue the game of psychological cat-n-mouse as Furuhata-san slowly deconstructs the whole thing.
Furuhata-san looks directly into the camera like it's the office to ask the audience what the final piece of the mystery is (this is briefly addressed)
The killer spirals ace attorney style as the audience screams GOT THE BITCH! and Furuhata-san escorts them off screen to purgatory... or, you know, prison.
Yup, it's pretty standard fair detective drama stuff, but the writer Mitani is able to construct some seriously compelling, twisty mysteries that keep you on the edge of your seat. By the end of first season, the direction finds its style and you'll get plenty of jaw-dropping musical cues and camera cuts that make you feel like you're full immersed in some deluxe, spicy juicy awesome mystery fiction action!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Okay... but who is the man of the hour? A good mystery needs a good detective, and there is hardly anyone as wonderful to watch as the black-clad oyajisan.
Tamura aces the role of Furuhata. It's just too good. As he's based off of Columbo he's of course a disarmingly scrungly genius with terrible posture and a grumbling-mumbling way or speaking, but he was plenty of other traits to set him apart. He's a fan of shoujo manga; he's an excellent chef but only knows how to prepare three mismatched dishes; he loves konbinis but is cursed by vending machines; he's terrible at baseball and is totally unsportmanlike; he is often seen on his beloved bike CELINE (since he was in the area anyhow)... I could go on, but the character is well realized and so fun to watch. His head tilts, forehead taps, and drawn out ええと。。。are perfectly captured, and all do a great job at annoying his victims. A stand out trait of Columbo is his unique relationship to the culprits; he's described as being very buddy-buddy or even respectful, using his friendly ho-hum manner to weedle his way to the truth. Furuhata-san is similar, but more... salty? Bitchy? The man frequently makes underhanded remarks towards the culprit or acts offensively relaxed until he find a contradiction in their words, in which he will then pursue to the ends of the earth. It gives a kind of "c'mon, can't you do better?" attitude reminiscent of a disappointed teacher.
Tumblr media
But even with all his sass (which he has in spades), Furuhata-san will always sit down with the killer and offer a smile and a bit of light conversation before the credits roll. The killers are usually afforded a bit of dignity. Most famously a radio show host tells the detective "the funniest joke there ever was"-- but as a small revenge, she refuses to tell him the punchline. Credits roll, theme plays, it's just another day on the job.
Tumblr media
Oh, there's also Imaizumi. Imaizumi is a big dummy and always falls for the red herrings the killers leave behind. Because of this, Furuhata-san is relentlessly mean to him and slaps him on the forehead as punishment. He forces the guy to do menial tasks and be victim to his many tests. Imaizumi, however, is just happy to be here. His special skills include knitting, flower arrangement, not reading the room, and having hemorrhoids.
Okay, now have some Furuhata-san crying and reading shoujo manga.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Truly the guy of all time.
You're probably totally in love with this show because I've described it so beautifully, right? Right? So you wanna watch it, riiiiight? Well lucky for you it's all totally subbed on internet archive!
Watch this awesome show ENGLISH SUBBED and FOR FREE you won't regret it! This link is so full of oyajisans! Please! Join me in Japanese crime fiction hell!
(Personally speaking, the first episode pilot thingy is a bit slow and does not represent the rest of the show very well, I would suggest skipping to the second episode "The Kabuki Murder" to get a real taste and then maybe return to the previous one later. Just my thoughts!)
Also, there was a really awesome remix of the main theme made for DDR. Here's that, but with Haruka Amami from the idolm@ster dancing over it.
Ah yes.... I have spilled my love... I suppose I should go now. Please enjoy this wonderful show, and remember: Don't you ever fuck up ever or else Furuhata-san WILL get you and you WILL go to super hell! Bye!

12. Hello! I would like to ask for help in finding a fic. I've tried searching for it but I haven't had any luck (I'm beginning to wonder if it was deleted or if it was actually a Twitter thread instead 😭) basically wx are married but they're both so busy the "spark" is beginning to go out in their marriage. And then lwj gets a new coworker that reminds him so much of a younger wwx and on a business trip he ends up sleeping with him. This starts an affair and eventually wwx finds out that lwj has been cheating on him and is understandably heart broken. They go to couples therapy and work it out and lwj transfers jobs. It had a happy ending more or less and it wasn't that long I don't think and it was definitely complete. Any help in finding it would be appreciated!! Thank you!!
FOUND? Twitter fic by @giraffeter (CW: infidelity)

13. Hello there! I’m looking for a modern au fic where WWX ended up “ghost marrying” LWJ, who was declared dead because JGY had him murdered. LWJ (barely) survives and ends up haunting the house because he’s angry and WWX helps him resolve the situation. There was a side of LXC/JGY, and I remember a scene where WWX was possessed(?) and playing music and it freaked everyone else out. I’m also 99% sure its a complete fic. Thank you for the help!

I was wondering if anyone knew the fic where a-yuan gets adopted by the rich lan fam, but keeps thinking of wwx who took care of him, so the lan fam starts a search/invites ppl over to their house. wwx arrives at the mansion(?) and offends some rich person or something and doesn't get let in, but meets lwj (I think) who asks him some questions about a-yuan. wwx meets a-yuan and eventually, I think lwj invites wwx to live with them and the wens encourage him to go too. (Hi ^^ ~ Mod C) hope am not bothering you mods too much. so, do you know i u have encountered a fic were wangxian was childhood friends playing to be boyfriends but they weren’t actually one. (idk if it fits fake/pretend relationship tag, didn't found anything.) there was a moment in their teens (midschool ig) where a girl confessed her feelings to lwj and wwx immediately says lwj has bf and it's him. they were roommates, too. I think it was due to university of something like that. they were questioned by jc and nhs if they r real lovers or not. also, there was wedding (not 100% certain if it's jzx & jyl’s) wwx starts questioning himself if he was really inlove with lwj. reminder that they r not friends with benefits. they were just playing, holding hands or hugging e/o. You and Robin were barely acquaintances, having only seen one another as you passed through the hellishly crowded hallways at school. You'd never really spoken to her either, finding her friendly enough, but neither of you had really considered yourselves that great at socializing, so it remained one of those 'what-if' situations. One of the things you thought about at night when you wondered if your actions and choices could have led you to a different outcome.
Until... Robin notices you at the arcade next to Family Video. She's been working there for months, and she has a habit of spending her break time there instead of in the video store . (Steve teases her for it, but who can blame her? They have better vending machines and they have blue raspberry slurpees. What more could she ask for?)
She remembers you from school – someone who seemed kind and genuine and who she wanted to converse with but never had the courage to – and so she finally comes up with a plan to talk to you. She's going to walk into the arcade one day, see you there, and try to strike up casual, easy conversation. Maybe about the arcade or the game you've been playing for three days straight now. Easy enough, right?
Well... not so much. Robin carries out phase one of her plan; she steps into the arcade during her break and orders the usual from concessions – her blue raspberry slushie and a medium side of chili cheese fries – but that's about as far as her plan goes. You're there, hyper-focused on one of the game machines – she hasn't figured out how you always manage to be there when she's on break, but it's not as if there's much to do in Hawkins besides run from monsters, watch movies, and play games, so she doesn't really pay any mind to it – and she's rendered a bit of an anxious mess because she's just realized she'll have to talk to someone outside of her typical friend group. Sure, you give off good vibes, but the possibility of getting to know you and then finding out that you won't accept her for who she truly is keeps her from moving over to talk to you.
She keeps her eyes on you, curious and yet hesitant, until she has the fleeting thought that this might seem a little creepy, so she turns back to her food and continues intensely staring at her blue slushie, imagining what it would have been like had she been capable of following through with her plan.
However, she doesn't have to imagine it for very long, because suddenly you're next to her, asking the concession manager for your own strawberry slushie – something that actually surprises her, because she didn't have you pinned as the strawberry type. She's so shocked that she unintentionally voices her thoughts.
"Strawberry? I didn't see you as someone who could handle the sweetness of it."
"Yeah, it's surprisingly not too bad." A beat passes and then you fall into an oddly familiar routine – strange, seeing how you'd never interacted before – and you smile as you tease her. "You got something against strawberries, Buckley?"
Conversation strikes up easily, taking you both by surprise, and the difference between your demeanor and your personality has her captivated. She quickly grows fond of you – becoming friends who talk excessively about whatever is currently of interest to the both of you, listening with wide eyes as you get to know one another – and suddenly she's making sure to spend all of her breaks at the arcade, sharing snacks and various flavored slushies together as you talk alongside the machines. She finds your honest and teasing personality refreshing, finds it intriguing how you're so devoted to your hobby of gaming; you have this goal to become the player with the highest score on every machine, and she thinks it's both impressive and endearing that you're actually pretty close to achieving that, having half of the machines already showcasing your name as the number one player. In other words, it doesn't take her too long to realize that she may be developing a crush.
If it did take her any longer, then Steve would have been the one to clock it. She's prone to rambling on and on to him, as they're best friends, and you've become the latest subject of such ramblings. She talks about how much she enjoys your presence, about how she can't believe the two of you had never talked before now, and when he gives her an all-knowing glance, she just playfully rolls her eyes.
"I'm serious. If you had actually met them, you would think that they're as cool as I do."
But she's not as dense as Steve thinks she is; rather, she's just worried about exposing herself to the wrong person.
Regardless, one day when she leaves her shift a few hours early – Steve taking care of Family Video as she goes next door – she accidentally spills her secret (and her strawberry pink slurpee).
The two of you were talking at an arcade machine with your usual snacks when you had convinced her to try her hand at the game you were trying to win.
"Oh no, I've never been much of a gamer. My hands get really fidgety and they've always been a little over my head..."
She nervously laughs but you insist, and she eventually caves. She struggles at first, trying to keep up with which button does what, but she finally gets the hang of it as you cheer her on. Your support has her cheeks dusted pink, making her brain falter for a minute as she reels on how nice it feels to hear you applaud for her, and she falters. She's about to lose the game when suddenly you help her out, your hand resting on hers in order to save her little character on screen, and Robin feels like she might explode.
She's so giddy that she moves her free hand forward, knocking over her cup and sending some of it flying towards you. What remains of the strawberry drink you had convinced her to try is now on your shirt, and her eyes are wide, mortified and filled with guilt.
She rushes to hand you some napkins, quick to try and talk to explain to you.
"Oh my god, I'm so sorry! I really hope that doesn't stain because your shirt is really cute and I would feel absolutely terrible if I messed it up. Like horrible, and I hope that you don't think I'm crazy for how much I talk to you because I just think you're really cool to hang out with. Like, so cool. Like, I talk about you so much to my coworker Steve that I'm pretty sure he wants to strangle me sometimes. He seems to think I have some sort of crush on you and–"
She stops, having realized what she's bumbled on about, and when you ask her if she does have a crush on you, she just lets out a nervous giggle before saying, "Um.. maybe?"
She's so anxious, heart hammering as she looks anywhere but at you, terrified that you might reject her and expose her to everyone else at Hawkins High as an outsider, someone different, but you don't. You take her hand and give her a smile, reassuring her and confirming that you feel the same, and Robin beams.
"So uh... I could take you downtown to buy you a new shirt? To make up for this one?"
You accept her offer and enjoy your first official date together, hand in hand as you go shopping right after leaving the arcade. When you leave, various brown paper bags of items hung on your fingers, you both sport matching grins of elation and golden charm bracelets, yours of the moon and stars and hers of the sun and clouds.

I've been looking for your works on AO3 and it says I have to be a user. It only does that for your stuff. Did you quit or orphaned your fics? Its okay if you did, I understand, but was just wondering.
Hi Nonny,
I have not orphaned my works, they are still there and readable. But I have locked them behind the Membership Only option for the time being, and likely indefinitely moving forward.
In combination of having some problems with spam messages, as well as the recent spate of people stealing fics and feeding them to AI, I feel better keeping my fics viewable only to signed-in members of AO3.
It doesn't solve all problems, and I do miss my guest readers, but it was better and less stressful for me to put the lock on them.
So the good news is, my stories are still there, and they are not going anywhere.
The other good news is that AO3 is free to sign up for and all you need to make an account is an email address, and I think be over the age of 13, as is common for almost every website on the internet. They do have a slight backlog of new users, so you might have to wait a week or so to be able to set up your account once you request an invitation.
But my stories, and a ton of other great stories that have been moved behind the wall for any number of reasons, aren't going anywhere and they will be there and waiting for you when you get signed up.
Until then, though, you're going to get a lot of empty Works lists and result-less searches, because if a writer has their works marked as restricted, they will not show up at all. If you have a direct link, like a bookmark, then I think you will see the message that you must be a registered user to read the story.
It sucks, I know, and it's not an ideal set up, but with people being the way that they are and treating fan-creators like vending machines, other parties and AI basically stealing everything they can get their hands on, it's more BS than I want to deal with. So the restricted lock goes on and I can focus on other things.

BELLEEEEEE!!!!! I’ve missed you so much 😭😭😭😭😭!!!!! Typing this as I’m sitting in my car after getting out of my last class. FINALS. ARE. FINALLY. OVER. And I passed all my classes with As!!!! Final exams went really well too!!! I feel like I’m gonna fall and pass out for 12 hours. Which I actually did yesterday because I had finished all my exams/classes but I had one more class to go to today.
BUT ENOUGH ABT ME HOW ARE YOU MY DEAR SWEET BLUE PUNK FAIRY FRIEND??? Have you been eating and drinking water?? Resting??? Taking breaks??? Isabelle. If you haven’t. *gently bonks head* Oliver would reprimand you too yknow? And not the fun bedroom scolding. TAKE BREAKS LOVE!!!! 😭😭❤️ Taking regular breaks is a responsibility to yourself that everyone forgets sometimes when they get lost in all their other responsibilities. Multitasking writing different works too much can cause headaches, speaking from experience sweetheart. And going to the gym is great but your body needs to relax and rest too. Water and a good meal and a hot shower/bath do wonders after a long session do wonders trust me. So please rest okay?
CONGRATULATIONS ON 1.6K 🎉✨🥳!!!! The numbers keep climbing so fast and all these milestones are amazing!!!! I’m so proud of you love 🥹✨❤️!!!
I THOUGHT I WAS THE ONLY ONE WHOS WATCHED KUROKO NO BASKET. Seriously the fandom is almost completely dead 😭😭💀. I knew it was a oldie but a goody but I didn’t think it was dust and tumbleweeds out here 😭😭. So glad you like it too!! Haikyuu will always be my favorite sports anime and one of my top favorites in general, it holds a really special place in my heart, but KnB was still a really fun watch.
ASFKKFFKJFHKHJG. THAT OLVER ART. Pls he’d hate getting out of bed and just become a complete octopus in the mornings. You gotta wake him up for practice and it’s such a chore. He’s such a big baby pshhhh. But there are some upsides like him saying the only way he’s gonna get up is if you place exactly 100 kisses all over his face, more than half of them end up being on the lips when he actually starts to get up, and you relent every money with a roll of your eyes and and huff and a fond smile he misses cause his eyes are closed. The first thing you do is wipe off that smug smirk from his face. Also hc that Oliver is actually really ticklish and it’s your weapon. Don’t get up even after the kisses? His sides are looking very open rn. Wont get off after flopping on you on the couch? You’re in the perfect position to reach his armpits. Wont stop clinging to you while you’re trying to do a new eye makeup style for your guys’ date? His neck is literally wide open cause he loves smushing his face into the crook of your neck.
What video? Did you post it on your other account? Because I couldn’t find it. Dangit I wanted to simp for Oliver too 😭😭.
Seriously I’m an introvert what are you gonna do? Lock me inside your house? Great free access to your clothes. Still me seeing friends? What friends babe? Take me everywhere with you? Nice let me grab my book and coffee and we’re good to go. Adjkgfhnjhhhv 💀💀.
That girl shoving into you was so rude. All it takes is a simple excuse me dude. And ISTG PEOPLE WHO SPOIL THINGS WHEN NO ONE ASKED 😤😤😤. They seriously piss me off and ruin the experience. See it’s different when I intentionally spoil myself because I’m too impatient. Someone else doing it? Oh heck no. Its the same feeling as someone taking the last of your favorite snack from the vending machine.
Also just a heads up. I’m gonna sending in multiple asks cause there’s just too much I wanna talk abt and breaking it into parts sounds better. So this is the first one. *sends aggressive virtual hugs that feel like they squish all the exhaustion out of you*

Starry! Omg- All As! That's great! And it's a good thing you took rest too- ik that i'm bout to pass out when i finish exams. I hope you're doing alright tho! Sorry it took me long to get to your ask; tumblr is being weird cause i can only see it when i get on my pc... and not on the app. yeah no I'm moving to ao3. i saw the rb of which character i would interpret the best and you said- Oliver Ofc. he's my husband but he doesn't know it yet ૮꒰ ˶> ༝ <˶꒱ა Well, I've been doing pretty good! I finished a jar of nutella (in 2 days) and i'm planning to buy a bigger one; i did drink a lot of water, ate some pasta, taking rest too made a wedding playlist for me and aiku and lowkey enjoyed it *the way i laughed when i saw : And not the fun bedroom scolding.' I'd like to see Oliver reprimand me (truth : he can't. Cause he knows at the end of the day even if he's bigger and stronger than me, he is gonna be beneath me) but yeah he'd probably say something like "you're gonna get sick, doorbell." But yeah i've been taking rest, dw starry! i'm actually giving myself a treat. with ao3 i can take things slow and easy tbh, which is another reason i'm moving there. The blog will be up ofc; to answer asks and for anons who wanna talk to me abt my work, but yeah my activity on ao3 is gonna be very irregular... THANK YOU!! 1.6k is such a big number, past me would have been like 'huh... never thought i'd make it this far.' BUT YEAH I DID ! T.T But actually it’s you guys who got me there so thank you everyone 💓
I think everyone thought that they were the only ones who watched knb; me included. I used to have the BIGGEST crush on aomine, i even found an asmr of his. (and yeah i do listen to asmrs btw) And yeah the fandom is almost dead (。 ́︿ ̀。) and I didn’t even get to read that many aomine works too…but yeah I really liked that anime! Haikyuu made me cry after clannad and also made me laugh the hardest, does hold a special place in my heart as well, Bokuto was my fav and rn… no one really. I like all of them cause they’re so unique yk?
As for the Oliver art, pretty sure he would hold you down to the bed. He would demand kisses! He is such a smooth talker- but since I’m me. When he expects a kiss *places hand on his lips before you kiss* “good morning. It’s time to get up” and he just groans when you have a tiny smirk and walk out of your shared bedroom, and his brain just going ‘god woman. You’re gonna be the death of me.’
How- I think I’m getting too predictable with my writing cause I do have something to do with eye makeup in Ocean hues… 👁️ *but we don’t talk abt that cause no spoilers!*
The video! Starry. I BLEW A FUSE CAUSE OF THAT REEL. so story time, I was checking my insta in the morning after I woke up and this gym based reel popped on my feed. And the moment I saw it - I thought of Oliver. Like alright fineeeee this is a guy Idek on the internet just doing his own thing and posting fitness reels but his body. IT LOOKED. LIKE. OLIVER. AND HIS HAIR WAS LIKE AIKU’S TOO! I’m not even joking - The shaggy hair down at the back minus the green highlights - it’s like the way I imagined Oliver’s body to be like. And- I really wasn’t expecting to see THAT in the morning. So it was a really great start to my day- and I couldn’t stop thinking about it for a whole day so I had to save it. I posted the link for a bit so that blue (💙 anon) and other Aikuists could check it out and we were just fawning over this guy. I took the link down soon after cause I didn’t want anyone reblogging it and creating chaos. I’ll put the link again and take it down in 10 mins. I’m telling you though. IT. WAS. FUCKING. HOT. (i'll be putting up the link in a bit and taking it down too you should totally take a look at it- cause the content is not mine neither do i know the guy but FUCK. THAT LOOKED LIKE OLIVER.) The free access to clothes 😭 Happy relationship = yandere bf + a very introverted partner oliver stealing my oversized clothes in the corner I'm an introverted person as well introverted enough to terrify a yandere as well istg- idk who that was, but it was rude to push shove someone and not apologize for it or even an excuse me. and the girl who spoiled wednesday, never saw her again. i get that someone's enthusiastic about a show, but at the same time... some consideration for people around you 😭 anyway, that times gone and i got a lot of better things to move onto like movies, working out and just overall, making myself happy and having a good day yk? *Sending hugs back*

meeting kuroo was probably the best moment of your life. and you’re not even kidding. you fell in love with him the first time you interacted with him—and it was during a volleyball meeting. you were the girls’ volleyball team captain and he was the boys’ vball team captain. his loud, charismatic, handsome, and brainy ass has caught your attention. and unfortunately, you’re now one of his fangirls. lowkey.
when he approached you during the conference, he was complaining about how boring the speaker was (even though he was still listening to what the speaker was saying). meanwhile your heart was already complaining about how handsome he is. he started talking to you during the conference and it was the beginning of a beautiful friendship.
after the interaction with him during the conference, you and kuroo started seeing each other and interacting more— he would greet you whenever you pass by each other in the hallway or the cafeteria, or even buy you a drink during lunch, and start exchanging stories. he’s just... tHE PERFECT IDEAL MAN.
this was your first and last year as a team captain. you developed passion for the sport once you joined the volleyball club; training intensely through the years. during the first few years, it frustrated you whenever other schools would reject joint practices with your team. unlike with nekoma’s boys’ volleyball team, they had connections with other schools and a pretty good reputation that gave them easy access to joint practices. it was the awakening of something in you. you trained harder and got better and better and better, achieving the position of team captain. and you swore that during your reign, you will bring light to your team. you will make your team a remarkable team.
since no school was willing to have joint practices with your team, you personally approached your coaches alone and proposed to have joint trainings with the boys’ volleyball team instead. much to your surprise, they agreed. it was the perfect training you were looking for. the boys’ volleyball team was strong and experienced, it will have a different level of intensity of training. and you were already craving the thrill and pressure of it. and kuroo’s handsome face.
just as you expected, the trainings were really on another level. your team lost countless times but this only pushed you and the others to do better. these training days also brought you and kuroo closer to each other. he often teased you that your team will never win against his, bought you more drinks, and even introduced you to his best friend and teammates. this honestly had you wondering if... he felt the same. so after that, you decided to observe him whenever he interacted with you to take hints! so far, you only had three signs.
prefectural tournaments were near and you were getting confident as days passed by since your team was now starting to win against the boys’ vball team. “i’d never win against your team, huh?” you smirked, approaching kuroo with two drinks from a vending machine. you offered him one of them and kuroo gladly took it from you, smirking back. “you cheated.” he said, making the two of you laugh together.
once the prefectural tournaments came, it wasn’t easy on you. the stress, the exhaustion, and the pressure were trying to eat you alive during matches but... you didn’t train and work hard to just easily give up. your team started climbing its way to the top, winning every match before getting in the prefectural qualifiers for the nationals— for you, it was a big victory already.
you successfully shone some light to your team and made it somehow remarkable.
kuroo excitedly made his way to you after the tournament, giving you a big hug with forehead kisses, exchanging congratulatories with you. any stranger would think that you two were a couple at that point. so... sign number four?
after the prefectural tournaments, everything went back to normal. despite not having joint practices for now, your closeness with kuroo never dissipated.
once the class bell rang, you immediately stood up from your seat to get yourself a drink from a vending machine, only to be stopped by kuroo by the classroom door. he smiled down at you and booped your nose with the drink he has in hand, “your favorite.” he said, “you didn't have to, tetsu but... thank you” you smiled, but before you could even reach for the drink, kuroo retracted his hand that was holding the drink, making you frown in confusion.
“give me your number first.” he said, handing you his phone with a smirk. you raised a brow at him and chuckled, “geez, you want to talk to me more, huh? you got a crush on me or something?” you joked as you took his phone and typed in your number, naming the contact: y/n <33.
“so what if i do?” he asked, feeling your heart flutter. damn you, kuroo. you looked up at him and raised a brow while giving his phone back. the taller man only chuckled, “what? it’s just weird we’ve been friends for a while now without having each other’s number.” he said, handing you your drink. he looked behind you as he heard his name being called before looking back down at you and gave you a smile, “i’ll text you, y/n!” he said before jogging down the hall to his friend. uhm, sign number five?
weeks have passed and joint trainings are now a thing again, but not with the boys’ volleyball team anymore! your team’s plays during the prefectural tournament got the attention of other schools, making them reach out to nekoma to have joint trainings with your team.
your days were getting busier now that the nationals is nearing. and the joint trainings were considered the missing puzzle piece for your team— experience. your team lacked experience to be able to come up with new strategies and moves, and it was a great thing to have other schools reach out to train with your team. you and the team’s manager noticed this flaw during the prefectural tournaments. and despite winning most of the joint training matches, your team was still very thankful since there was a lot your team has learned, and new friendships and connections has formed at the same time!
you and kuroo are now closer than ever. now that you have each other’s number— the two of you would often send memes to each other, exchange selfies, send each other things that remind you of each other from the internet, and greet each other good morning and good night texts. there were too many signs to count now. at this point, you were confident that kuroo felt the same.
tomorrow is the day every prefectural qualifiers has been waiting for. the nationals. and you weren’t really that nervous or stressed for it— win or lose, you know you're gonna give it your best either way. instead, you were nervous because... guess what? kuroo offered to walk you home! since he found out that he only lives a few blocks away from you through text.
you were now sure that kuroo felt the same, and you have decided to tell him about your feelings on your walk home. you’re not sure as to how it’s gonna end but you know— you know that kuroo felt the same.
as the last joint training has finished, you excitedly walked towards the school gate to meet with kuroo. “hey, dumbass” you greeted with a lazy smile. kuroo looked up at you from his phone and smiled, “hey, angel.” he greeted back, “how was fukurodani’s girls’ volleyball team?” he asked, taking the backpack you were clutching so he could carry it instead. the two of you exchanged stories as kuroo walked you home, laughing together from time to time. it was nice to walk with him like this. and you wished this could happen everyday.
once you arrived by your street, you stopped walking and sighed softly. kuroo stopped walking as well, turning to you as he sipped on his empty juice box, making loud noises come from the box. “what? what’s wrong?” kuroo asked.
“tetsu, i—" you started, taking a deep breath first before blurting it out. "i’m not really good at confessions but... i’ve been wanting to tell you that i like you for a while now.” you said, face heating up as you gathered all the courage you had in you as you stood in front of the man you were madly crushing on. “i liked you ever since you talked to me in that conference meeting and you just make me feel... really special, you know? with your stupidly cute gestures an— and sweet words. i just feel that there's something special in our connection. i was confident to even tell you this because you seemed like you’ve also been dropping these signs and hints that you felt the same. i— i just... i like you, tetsurou. i like you more than just a friend.” you said, fidgeting with the milk box you were holding as you stared up at him, waiting for his response.
tetsurou held a shocked expression on his face. he stared back down at you with his mouth agape, taking his time to gather his thoughts and words. “i— i uhm...” he started, hand moving to clutch the strap of your backpack. “i— i think you’ve mistaken the ‘signs’, y/n.” he muttered quietly.
and with that, you felt your heart drop. no. you were sure that kuroo felt the same. you wouldn’t confess if you weren’t sure of it. “...mistaken?” you asked quietly, just enough for him to hear. kuroo sighed and scratched the back of his neck, “i like you too, y/n, but only as a friend.” he said, "i— i'm sorry but... i don't see you the way you see me."
you felt stupid. you felt like the dumbest person alive as you stood in front of him. of fucking course he won't feel the same, what the hell were you thinking?!
you looked away from kuroo and breathed a laugh, "how foolish of me... i'm sorry for making you uncomfortable, kuroo." you said, taking your backpack from him. "well, uh—" you started, clearing your throat as you looked around. "we're on my street now." you chuckled awkwardly, feeling tears start to slightly cloud your eyes. "thank you for walking me home. i wish your team a good luck for tomorrow's nationals." you muttered, giving him a small bow before walking off to your house, not even waiting for his response anymore.
stupid fucking signs.

Making Time
Mobius M Mobius x Reader
Part 3
My Masterlist • Series Masterlist
Tumblr media
“Here we go.” You whisper, looking between Mobius and Loki, then up at Mount Vesuvius.
“Shh, any minute now.” Mobius adds.
“Until this entire town is wiped off the face of this planet. Imagine. All that volcanic ash-“ Loki starts.
“I know. We don't want to get too giddy.”
“Oh, come on! It's cool.”
“No, it is cool, but it's just not in good taste because...”
“They're all gonna die anyway.”
“I know. Now listen, I'm gonna watch the TemPad for any variance energy.” He says, pulling the device out from his pocket.
“Okay.”
“Okay, because we gotta be careful.”
“If you're wrong, and there's a good chance you are, anything we do can create a huge branch.”
“Oh, Mobius! You make even the end of the world sound boring.” Loki complains.
“Listen! Okay, we're not meant to be here.”
“And we don’t need Minutemen rushing here to arrest and delete us, okay?” You tell him. He nods,
“Okay.”
“Anything we do can impact the course of history. Do you get that?”
“Yes. Yes.”
“So we're gonna start with very small disturbances. Very small. Can you make bird noises?” You both frown at Mobius.
“Bird noises?”
“Yeah. Bird noises. Like some, like whooshing noises?” He begins to imitate a bird call. You roll your eyes,
“Moby? I was on the side of caution. But we’re going to need more than that.” Mobius continues his bird impressions to the disdain of Loki who groans and runs off.
“Loki!” You hiss. He doesn’t go far, standing on a nearby cart and proclaiming to the people of Pompeii that they are all going to die. On a positive note you’ve come up with a new scale to rate nexus events: starting with bird noises and ending with prophesying the future. Loki then decides to release a hoard of goats. Fantastic. Loki halts his Latin monologue to look over at you and Mobius for a fact check,
“We are from the future, right? What is the TVA? I mean, it's from the future. It sounds from the future. It's pretty futurey.” You’re about to answer him when you realise you don’t actually know. You’d always assumed the TVA just existed outside of time. Though you’re not sure how that would work. You’re about to ask Mobius when the volcano erupts. Loki then proceeds to have what looks like an existential crisis. “Nothing matters! Nothing has any consequence! Dance while you still can!” You lean over Mobius’s shoulder.
“How’s it going?” You ask, nodding towards his TemPad.
“I don't believe it. Zero variance energy. No branching in the timeline.” He tells you. Overhearing what Mobius says, Loki approaches you,
“The TVA would never even know we were here. If it were me, this is where I would hide.” A colossal cloud of ash rolls down the hillside, quickly approaching the three of you.
“Erm, Loki, bud?” You say, concerned that he hasn’t noticed. You point over his shoulder, “You got a little something-“
Tumblr media
On your return to the TVA, the three of you head to the archives, searching for all naturally occurring disasters. Turns out there’s a lot of them. Mobius hands you a pile of events from before you existed, which you appreciated. Whilst you were curious about what happened to the world after you left it, you’re not too eager to see the long list of apocalypses. After what feels like hours of searching the three of you decide to take a break.
You and Loki are sat in one of the TVA cafeterias, waiting for Mobius to return with some food. Two hunters pass by your table, and you keep your gaze on the papers in front of you.
“Why do they look at us like that?” Loki asks suddenly. You look up at him.
“Like what?”
“Don’t act like you haven’t noticed. You and Mobius don’t get the looks that you and I get.” He observes. You sigh,
“That’s because when it’s me and you, they see two Variants possibly plotting to overthrow the TVA.” That shocks Loki.
“You’re a Variant.” He states, and you nod,
“I was set to be deleted, until Mobius stepped in and saved me.”
“You must be very grateful to him.”
“I am.”
“So you believe in the all powerful lizards which dictate the existence of trillions of people?” You smirk, looking down at the papers in your hand.
“I didn’t say that.” You glance up at him, recognising the look on his face immediately. He was scheming. “Look Loki, I may not be a hundred percent loyal to the TVA, but I am to Mobius.”
“Mobius, who is a part of the TVA, who you don’t fully trust. How can you know he has your best interests at heart?”
“I don’t. I’m just hoping, that he does.” Mobius soon joins the two of you. After a brief discussion about jet skis the conversation quickly turns far too philosophical for your poor ‘I’ve just read about a million case files’ brain.
“I don't get hung up on believe or not believe. I just accept what is.” Mobius says with a sigh. Loki looks at him incredulously.
“Three magic space lizards?” Mobius nods,
“Time-Keepers.”
“Created the TVA, and everyone in it?” Mobius nods again. “Including you?”
“Including me.”
“But not me.” You add. Loki laughs softly,
“Every time I start to admire your intelligence, you say something like that.”
“Okay, who created you, Loki?” Mobius asks.
“A Frost Giant of Jo
“And who raised you?”
Odin of Asgard.
Odin, God of the Heavens. Asgard, mystical realm, beyond the stars. Frost Giants. Listen to yourself...
It's not the same. It's completely different. No. It's not the same.
It's exactly the same thing. Because if you think too hard about where any of us came from, who we truly are, it sounds kinda ridiculous. Existence is chaos. Nothing makes any sense, so we try to make some sense of it. And I'm just lucky that the chaos I emerged into gave me all this... My own glorious purpose. Cause the TVA is my life. And it's real because I believe it's real. “Fair enough. You believe it's real.”
“Yeah.”
“So everything is written. Past, present, future. There's no such thing as free will.”
“Well, I mean, you know, it's an oversimplification...”
“But practically, yes.” You say, not wanting to hear the in-depth workings of the timeline.
“So, in fact, in a way, us three here at the TVA, we're the only ones who are actually free.”
“Where are you going with this, Loki?”
“How does it all end?”
“That's a work in progress.”
“Those lazy Time-Keepers. What are they waiting for?”
“Au contraire. Because while we protect what came before, they're toiling away in their chamber, untangling the epilogue from its infinite branches.”
“So when they're finished, what happens then?”
“So are we. No more nexus events. Just order. And we meet in peace at the end of time. Nice, right?”
“Do we get to live in peace or do we just disappear because we aren’t needed anymore?” You ask, suddenly concerned that he mentioned the end of time. Loki continues his own questions,
“Only order?” Mobius hums in response. “No chaos? It sounds boring.”
“I'm sure it does to you.” Loki suddenly changes the subject,
“You called me a scared little boy.”
“I called you a lotta things.”
“You did. You're wrong, though. You see, I know something children don't.”
“What's that?”
“That no one bad is ever truly bad. And no one good is ever truly good.” Well that was deep. Mobius looks down at the table in front of him.
“Scared little boy.” He repeats.
“Yes, it was quite patronizing. I thought it was a bit too far, actually.” Loki admits. Mobius looks up, an idea dawning on his face.
“You're very clever.” He tells Loki as he stands up.
“I know.” Loki makes a ‘well obviously’ face as you stand and follow Mobius as he makes his way to the archive.
“The Variant left something behind at an old crime scene. A cathedral. A candy box. An obvious anachronism. I gave it to Analysis, but they couldn't find anything real.”
“Why does that matter?” Loki asks. Mobius unlocks a box on a nearby shelf, before opening it up.
“Cause now we have two variables. Apocalyptic natural disasters and... Kablooie.” He pulls out the candy box.
“What's that?”
“Candy. Do you have candy on Asgard?”
“Yeah. Grapes, nuts.”
“No wonder you're so bitter.”
“There’s a massive vending machine near Renslayer’s office. One time, I’ll buy you one of everything.” You tell Loki as the two of you sit down at your desk. Mobius returns with a huge stack of files.
“Okay. Kablooie was only sold regionally on Earth from 2047 to 2051. All ya gotta do is cross-reference that with every apocalyptic event.” The three of you sit, sorting through the files for sometime. Mobius looks up at you,
“Anything?”
“Well, it's not the climate disaster of 2048.” You tell him, flicking the page over.
“Or the tsunami of 2051.” Loki adds.
“Let's go. Let's go. Come on.”
“2050. The extinction of the swallow. Is that a thing?”
“We killed off the swallows?” You stare at Loki. “How the hell did that happen?” Mobius shrugs,
“Completely screwed up the ecosystem.”
“Krakatoa erupted in 2049 as well. No Kablooie.”
“God, it's just one damn thing after another, isn't it? Cyclone, famine, volcanoes, floods...” Mobius lists, and you can’t help but agree.
“Got him. That's where he is.” Loki pulls open a case file before offering it to you and Mobius. The two of you peer at the papers inside.
“Alabama, 2050.” You read aloud. Loki looks at you both, seeming rather pleased with himself. Mobius grins,
“You're gonna take my job if I'm not careful.”

Tumblr media
=====
"Don't you think we've been here for long enough?"
Your hand stopped writing the flurry of notes and you looked at your friend, who peered back at you over his laptop. "Changgu, it's literally only been..."
You flipped your phone over to look at the time on its display and faltered when you realized just how late into the day it was. "I guess we have been here for a while."
"Which is exactly why I think we should—"
"But I'm not ready to leave yet!" You snapped back, immediately backing off when you realized how harsh your voice was.
"You didn't get much sleep last night, did you?" He pressed on and you buried your face back into the piles of work laid in front of you.
"We don't talk about that either."
He let you be and the two of you went back to working in silence for the next while until Changgu eventually got up from his seat. Your eyes followed him as he stretched and let out a sigh. "I'm gonna go to the bathroom."
"Okay." You replied, and returned to your work.
=====
Not long after, a juice box slid into your view and you looked up at Changgu who returned after his bathroom break that took much longer than a usual bathroom break would've taken. You quirked an eyebrow in his direction.
"You got juice from the bathroom?"
He laughed and you took note of the other juice box in his hand — the exact same flavour as yours. "Of course I did. They added vending machines in the bathroom recently, didn't you know that?"
You decided to play along. "Is that so? No, I didn't know that. But do enlighten me as to why you would ever trust a vending machine located in the bathroom."
He laughed at your small jest. "Nah, I just went on an adventure to grab us some fuel." He dropped back into his seat and let out a relieved hum as he stared at his laptop. "After finishing that stupid essay I think I deserved the treat."
"You know, if you're done working you can always head back first. I'm fine on my own."
He shook his head adamantly at your offer. "This is our study session, you know? It's a we thing," he emphasized that with a point to the table. "So I'm not leaving until you're also done."
You sent him a small smile in appreciation and returned to your textbook, taking a small sip from the juice box as you did. It was refreshing and in the back of your mind, you wondered how he knew this was your favourite flavour. You didn't recall ever telling him.
"Though I think you've done more than enough work for today."
You didn't miss the next thing he muttered quietly.
"Look, Changgu, I'll just finish this chapter and we can call it today, okay?" You desperately held up a finger to assist in your pleading.
"One chapter and one chapter only." He reluctantly gave in, deciding to get a head start on another assignment in the meanwhile. Once again, you settled back into a comfortable silence, listening to the distant voices of others in the library.
You ended up finishing that chapter quicker than you initially thought you would and it flared up a new flame of determination within you. You could cram in a few more chapters then, right? You'll get them done in no time, especially with the flow you had now.
Agreeing with yourself, you got started right away.
You're pretty sure Changgu noticed when you flipped the page again.
And again.
And again.
Surely he's noticed the way you're slouched over a bit more now, the way your eyes were drooping and your gaze became unfocused. The way you've hardly touched the bag of snacks since he opened it. But you kept on going. Your determination knew no limits and you kept on going despite all the rational part of you that screamed at you to stop.
...Now, where did you leave off before you started daydreaming?
Right, at the end of this paragraph. You returned to staring at the mundane words in the textbook. You swore you were almost finished with this page but you also told yourself that what felt like hours ago. No matter how many times you read the same sentence over and over again, the words never seemed to stick in your mind. Your hand couldn't figure out what to write and what to leave out. All of it seemed important and you cursed the way your next exam weighed so much and yet gave you such vague preparation instructions. If only you had started studying earlier... but wasn't one week enough? Maybe you just weren't fit for this? Probably, because —
Changgu placed his hand onto yours. He gently pulled the pen out of your grasp and gestured for you to look at him.
"Let's take a break, you have no say in it. Seeing you like this makes me exhausted, I can't take this anymore."
No matter how many times you've drilled into your mind that it was absolutely not okay to take a break, the moment you heard the words from someone else, your composure crumbled.
You let out a deep sigh and let your weight rest on the table. "Yeah let's."
Changgu helped you pack your work away after cleaning up his own and waited until you were fully ready. When you slid the chair back to its former home, he held out a hand for you to take and you happily took a place by his side.
"Are you going to take me on another adventure?" You playfully asked, already feeling a little better now that your work was tucked away.
He shrugged. "Honestly, I had no clue where I was going to take you 'cause I didn't think you'd actually stop studying. But sure! Let's make this an adventure."
Stepping outside, you realized how much nicer it was to have a change of scenery. It was already late afternoon, the sun shining brightly above, engulfing you in a pleasant kind of warmth.
You sighed inwardly, this would've been more relaxing if your mind would just stop drifting back to all the work you still to be done. Hadn't you done enough? You worked so hard for the past who-knows-how-many-hours and yet it only left you unsatisfied and even more stressed.
Maybe it just wasn't enough.
A gentle bop on your head brought you out of your thoughts and you stared at Changgu, his hand still raised from bonking your bad thoughts away.
"Stop thinking so much." He crossed his arms and looked at you pointedly.
"Huh?"
Squinting his eyes, his face leaned into yours, getting closer and closer, and you found yourself edging away from the intrusion. Just as quickly as it started, he suddenly disappeared, straightening his back again and letting out a huff.
"Just as I thought."
"What?" You asked again, still lost.
"You're thinking bad things about yourself again! Stop that."
"How did you know?"
He playfully punched your shoulder at that. "I'm your best friend, you think I wouldn't notice these things? You always have this expression on your face when you're beating yourself up. Looks kinda stupid."
Your mouth gaped at his remark. "Hey!'
"I'm kidding, you never look stupid," he smiled and continued. "But what is stupid is you thinking that you're not good enough because you can't keep up with everything that's going on. Can you really blame yourself if some uncontrollable force decided to dump an unreasonable amount of work on you all at once? You're doing your best, which is one, really paying off because I swear you've covered like a billion chapters today. And two, is extremely cool — I heard the group studying behind us gush about how hard you were working and guess what?"
"...What?" You asked hesitantly, still trying to recover from your friend's spiel.
Changgu grabbed your shoulders to keep your attention. "I also think you're really really cool!!" He announced loudly, capturing the attention of a mother and her daughter nearby. They walked away after the initial surprise.
Your lip trembled, not even having it within you to be embarrassed by his public confession. Instead, you were overwhelmed by his kindness. "Changgu..."
He pulled you into a hug and you basked in his presence. The faint smell of fresh laundry lingered on his hoodie and you melted into his comfort. "You're doing great, and you'd be doing even better if you let yourself breathe for a moment. As overwhelming as it may feel, the only thing that's going to bring you down is yourself if you keep on going at this rate — not your work." He gently scolded before he pulled away and cupped your face, eyes boring into yours.
"Got that?"
You nodded hesitantly. "Yes."
"I don't know... that wasn't really convincing..."
You laughed lightly and pushed his hands away from you. "I got it, I got it, Changu. Thank you so much." You found yourself much more relaxed after your talk. "From studying with me to buying me snacks and comforting me... aargh, I appreciate it."
Changgu simply gave you a bright smile. "Anything for you."
That was all he said, but those 3 words were enough to express just how much you meant to each other.
"Besides, I don't think of it as a chore, any time spent with you is great."
You pouted. "You're too good for me, seriously. How can I make it up to you?"
In all honesty, you expected him to dismiss the question, but instead, Changgu's eyes wandered off as he placed a finger on his chin. "Well, I did notice that my favourite drink is on sale when I passed by that cafe on the way here..."
You sent him an amused look. "The juice wasn't enough?"
"Are you telling me to pass on a sale that takes a whole dollar off?"
Once again, you found yourself playing along with his act and your eyes widened. "Oh geez, you're right, we can't miss out on that." Pushing Changgu from behind, you ushered him forward. "Let's get moving! We spent so much time in the library the shop's going to close by the time we get there."
Changgu chuckled as you caught up and fell into step with his movements. "I'm glad to see that you're back to normal."
"And I'm glad we get to save a buck on overpriced drinks. Thanks for everything, Changgu." You swiftly replied and he sent a smile your way.
"Anytime."

Tumblr media
It started one afternoon. One terrible afternoon, just after you'd clocked out of a long and grueling shift at the Seimei University Hospital. You sighed. You were used to long shifts, but covering two shifts on your first week on the job was one for the books.
You squinted as you stepped out of the main entrance, the afternoon sunlight shone directly at you. As you trudged to your apartment, you mentally deliberated if taking this temporary assignment was a mistake. Lost in thought, you allowed your feet to carry you through the busy crowd.
'Maybe I should've just stayed home,' you thought silently. It has only been a week since you started, but you have been passed on from one IT department to another, told off twice for misunderstanding instructions,  had no one else on the same shift as you, and no one to talk to.
You stopped on your tracks and found yourself on a bridge - the same one you pass every single day on your way to work and back. The vivid hues of the sky caught your attention, and you gasped as you admired the pretty pink palette in front of you. Leaning at the railing, you stared at the horizon, drinking in its beauty, and allowing it to refresh your tired soul.
"Long day?"
A voice beside you made you jump. You hadn't expected anyone to be there - more so, notice you standing there. As you shifted your gaze to the person next to you, you felt your eyes widen in surprise.
"Did I guess right then?"
Your heart hammered in your chest, as the beautiful man standing beside you continued to speak. You shook your head and blinked your eyes a few times to make sure you weren't dreaming. You haven't slept in twenty-four hours, you reminded yourself. Maybe this was all a dream.
Yes, it must be a dream. There was no way that the Seimei University Hospital's Chief of Medicine, and top Cardiologist, Toshiki Kasumi, was beside you looking so cool in his grey hoodie under a crisp blue jacket, and jeans.
"Uh, are you okay?"
"C-c-chief Kasumi!" You blurted out louder than you had intended when you saw his face coming nearer to check on you. "It's you! You're here!"
"Yes, I have been for several minutes now, but you seem to have noticed just now. Are you feeling okay?." He raised his eyebrows to study you, before leaning back.
"I'm sorry, Chief Kasumi," you bowed a lot lower than necessary. "I worked two shifts today to cover for Sena-san. I didn't mean to be out-of-sorts today."
He looked at you quietly before turning his attention to the view in front of you.
"It's fancy seeing you here, Chief Kasumi. Do you cross this bridge, too?" You asked awkwardly.
The silence between you stretched for a few minutes, and you suddenly wished you hadn't asked him a silly question. You kept your gaze low, looking around for a hole you can crawl into and hide.
"Bridges aren't for crossing," he finally spoke, as he tucked his hands in his pocket, and you looked up to see the pink hues had turned purple. "They're for stopping."
"Stopping?"
He simply nodded. "Who knows, maybe we'll stop by the same spot again sometime," he said, and just before he turned to leave, he added, "but only if you stop calling me Chief Kasumi."
***
"You know, you haven't introduced yourself to me properly."
You glanced sideways to see him looking at the same blessed view you admired with him four weeks back. Today was an uneventful Wednesday and you managed to clock out on time.
"Oh, I haven't? I'm sorry. My name is Anna," you replied, smiling.
"And you're here on a temporary assignment?" He asked as he handed you one of the cans of coffee he bought from the vending machine just before.
"For four more months, yes," you said cheerily.
"I see. What's it been like for you so far?"
"The first week was hell," you recalled, sighing. "But lately, Sena-san has been a lot nicer to me. I now have two other teammates on the same shift, so the workload is more manageable. They're also teaching me the ropes so I don't get in trouble."
He simply nodded, keeping his gaze towards the sky, while you secretly stole glances at his picture-perfect profile. Until now, you still couldn't believe you've managed not only to talk to but also to 'hang out' with Seimei University Hospital's most sought-after doctor.
Him. The guy beside you. Cardio surgery's rockstar, EICU's fearless department head - the guy loved and loathed by many because of his top-notch skills and his dazzlingly good looks. Your teammates told you that the most difficult cases always get sent his way, and big shots always requested for him to attend to them. You've seen him in action a few times in the hospital, too, and his intense energy was nothing like the soothing aura he exuded now
"If you have something to say, speak up," he said, snapping you out of your reverie, and you blushed. Just how long has he noticed you staring at him, you wondered, slightly mortified. As the sky turned a darker shade of purple, he cleared his throat and looked your way. "Anyway, I have to go back to the hospital. Are you on your way home?"
"Yes," you managed to reply as he turned to leave. "I hope to cross this bridge and see you here again sometime."
He paused for a moment and turned around. "Bridges aren't for crossing, you know. Did I ever tell you that?"
"Oh. Yes, you did," you suddenly remembered, as your face turned redder. "Well, maybe we can stop by again another time."
"Maybe we will, Anna."
Maybe it was the way he stopped on his tracks to remind you about what he said about bridges or the casual way he called your name that kept rooted on the spot to watch his figure disappear into the crowd, with an unopened can of coffee in hand, and a goofy smile on your face.
***
"I'm glad you were able to restore the files in Kyogoku's computer the other day."
The two of you stood side-by-side at the bridge once again, looking at the pink sky. You had met quite a few times in between, but today, you decided to linger a while longer so you could talk a little bit more.
"It wasn't that hard. All I did was search the servers for the backup of his data. No biggie," you shrugged, as you handed him the sandwich you bought at the convenience store for him while he opened your can of warm coffee for you.
You don't know when this whole thing started, and neither of you seemed to have taken notice, but somewhere between the first time you've met and today, you've made up so many unspoken rules with each other. Rules such as who's turn it is to buy snacks, or which topics are safe to discuss with each other.
But today, you were feeling more daring than usual, so you stared at him again as he was appreciating the beauty of the sky before him.
"You've got something to say?" He finally asked.
"You must love the sky so much, no?"
"I like this one in particular," he said coolly. "This particular view is called the Belt of Venus."
"Belt of Venus…," you mouthed.
"It only lasts for about 15 minutes before the sky turns dark. It's associated with the Greek goddess, of course, and it signifies…" he said before catching himself.
"It signifies what, Dr. Kasumi?" You asked curiously.
He took a deep breath and shook his head. "It signifies a lot of different things to different people."
"What does that signify to you though?" You press earnestly.
"A passing," he said quietly.
Something in his voice pulled at your heartstrings and as you gazed into his grey eyes, you knew there was more to the man beside you than he let on.
Before you could press any further, he moved his hand to tuck a lock of your hair behind your ear and you froze on the spot. He felt you tense up and smiled.
"I have to go back to the hospital, Anna. Take care on your way home, alright?"
All you could do was nod at him as he smiled tenderly and went on his way, leaving behind his uneaten sandwich and your half-finished can of coffee.
He didn't promise you'd stop by together again soon, but something in you knew you would. Soon.
***
"I can't believe the time's flown by so fast!"
You threw your hands in the air excitedly and looked to the sky with a big smile on your face. You're only a month away from ending your assignment in Tokyo, and you couldn't be happier.
He stood beside you, armed with a paper bag filled with sandwiches and chips, and your favorite can of coffee. He smiled silently as you beamed like a child who has just been allowed to go outside and play. It was sunset again, and his calendar was surprisingly clear, so he texted you to ask if you wanted to meet. It was, of course, an offer you'd never say no to.
"Someone's happy," he said as he leaned by the railing, once again staring at the sky.
"Well, duh. Of course, I'm happy. I miss home," you replied, finally settling in beside him. "I can't wait to eat home-cooked meals once again, and talking to people who speak the same Language - no offense meant!"
He snickered softly as you leaned on him, your arm against his while admiring the view in front of you. With you, he seemed less like the dark emperor of the lord of death his colleagues made him out to be - he was simply Dr. Kasumi, a guy who loved the sunset and who loved to listen to your endless - often nonsensical - stories, and humor you with his own.
As you fell into silence, you began to wonder what your days would be like when you went back home. Days without Dr. Kasumi.
Your heart began to hurt at the thought that in a few more weeks, you would have to say goodbye - to put an end to the sunset stops along the bridge to watch this beautiful view, bid farewell to the conversations you've exchanged over convenience store snacks sometimes until late into the night, and say goodbye to the kindest soul you've never even had the chance to know deeper. The thought made you freeze. What's wrong with me?
"Are you okay?" He asked, peering into your face, as you stared listlessly into space.
"That was what you first asked me," you replied, recovering quickly. He smiled.
"Yes, it was," he chuckled, facing you. "Back then, I knew exactly what was going on in your little head after Sena asked you to work overnight."
"And now?"
He sighed. "And now, I'm not sure if your reason is the same as mine," he said, as he backed you up against the railing and trapped you in his arms. "You wanted to know what the Belt of Venus meant to me, right?"
You nodded nervously.
"My dad died when I was little, and my mom always said you could send off your departed loved ones when the goddess appeared. I watched it every day since," he said quietly, his eyes never leaving yours. "And when my mom and my best friend died, I watched the sunset even more. The Belt of Venus means to send someone off - at least that's what it means to me. And I always felt sad when it's over. At least I did until lately…"
"What changed?" You asked, waiting on his answer with bated breath.
"You. You happened," he replied, leaning closer to you until your lips touched his. "You came and saw the sunset with me. And for a time, I forgot to be scared. But now, I need to send you off."
"Dr. Kasumi -," you gasped, as he pulled away from you and straightened up.
"I'm sorry to burden you, confessing as I did," he said, as he reached out to wipe the tears you hadn't realized had stained your face. "Please think nothing of it. I want you to go home and be happy - as happy as you made me in these four months we've watched the sunset together."
He sighed, releasing you from his grip. "And for your sake, I won't stop by anymore. But don't be a stranger when you see me at work."
His image was a blur behind your tears, as he walked away from you, just as he's always done whenever you watched the sunset. Only this time, you had a feeling he was never coming back.
You scolded yourself right there and then. He was just a friendly face, someone who wanted you to feel you weren't alone in this strange place, you reasoned out. You aren't even supposed to cry over him.
But as the night grew darker, the realization of your feelings for him came into light.
You loved him. You were in love with Dr. Kasumi. And you needed to see him one more time.
***
The days leading to your departure went by like a blur, and in the flurry of it all, you had not caught sight of the dark-haired doctor that stole your heart. You passed by his office but were often told he was in surgery or teaching at a conference somewhere. He never stopped by your usual bridge, too.
This isn't fair at all, you thought angrily. How come he gets to confess his feelings and you don't?
Today was your last day at the Seimei University Hospital, and you've made arrangements to stay two more days in Tokyo before flying back home.
This was it, you thought. Your last chance to confront the elusive heart thief they call Chief of Medicine at the EICU. As you peered into the exclusive department, a grumpy looking Orthopedic surgeon looked your way and sighed.
"He ain't here," Dr. Takado said, exasperated. Not that you blame him - he's been in the receiving end of all your inquiries after all.
"I see. Well, thank you, Dr. Takado," you said, bowing politely, much to his surprise.
"Why do you want to see him so badly anyway?"
"It's my last day at work today," you explained, trying your best not to melt under his icy glare. "I- I only wanted to thank him for making me feel like I wasn't a stranger around here."
Something in Dr. Takado's eyes flickered, and his lips stretched into a lazy smile. "Is that so?" He said. "I may be able to help you then, but you gotta tell me something first, got it?"
Relief washed over you as you realized you may have gained an ally in his squad. Smiling, you looked at the kind-hearted doctor in front of you and said, "I'm at your mercy, Dr. Takado."
***
The lovely pink hue tinged the afternoon sky once again, signaling that the day was about to come to a close. Filled with determination, you sprinted towards the bridge at the far end of the river bank. Standing there, just as Dr. Takado promised, was Dr. Kasumi, in casual clothes - the same one he wore when you first met. He stared quietly at the Belt of Venus, his expression solemn, as though he were sending someone off in prayer.
You paused to catch your breath and to calm your beating heart. You wanted nothing more but to run over to him and tell him off, but that wouldn't do you any good, and you knew it.
"Fancy seeing you here," you said, feigning nonchalance.
"Anna?"
"You look like you've just seen a ghost." You walked closer until you stood right in front of him. "What's wrong with our old bridge?"
He looked at you with a scowl on his face. "I said I wasn't stopping by there anymore, didn't I?"
"You also said I shouldn't be a stranger if I saw you at work, but you never showed yourself to me," you retorted. "Don't you think it's cruel to confess your feelings to me and not hear me confess back?"
"What's the point if you're just crossing  -," he asked, turning his gaze back to the Belt of Venus as it was starting to disappear.
"Well, what if I said I wasn't crossing anymore?"
He paused and held his breath. And you took it as an opportunity to approach him. Cradling his face in your hands, you forced him to look at you.
"I don't want to just cross the bridge anymore, Dr. Kasumi," you said earnestly, as you gazed into his eyes. "I want to stop. With you."
His breath hitched, but at the same time, you felt his arms around you holding you close. "Are you sure?"
"Positive."
"I thought it was your last day…"
"Someone may have worked some magic to make me miraculously extend my stay," you respond cryptically, as you returned his hug.
"So, you mean it - you're not going away."
"I said it before and I'll say it again - I won't. I'm staying," you said, pulling away from his hug so you can look at him. "And depending on how this works out, maybe I'll be staying for the long run."
He smiled and touched your cheeks. "Oh, you'll be happy here alright. I'll make sure of it. This is the only place you're stopping - right by my side."
The end.

If you're still doing the song writing ask thing,,, could I ask for frenmy(or as others call it,, frenreylatta) with 1 or 24? 👉👈 Or just frenmy in general I will appreciate and holde whatever
Tumblr media
CANNNN do!!
(Also I’m juuuust now realizing these are song titles I just saw one word and went ‘LETS WRITE A DRABBLE OFF OF THIS’ oops- uh enjoy either way!)
For better or for worse, Tommy isn’t always taken completely seriously.
Which is fine. Tommy can brush it off, he might have some “Childish Interests” but he’s a grown adult, he can take a hit or two.
(Tommy doesn’t know why anything has to regarded as childish when anyone can and should enjoy anything and not get shit for it but that’s a whole other can of worms).
But when Tommy says things like, “Grab a soda, it’ll help you see faster!” Nobody thinks twice about it. Which is good, because Tommy didn’t mean to say it at all. There’s certain things Tommy doesn’t like to talk about and his more ‘Inhuman’ attributes is one of them.
Son of “The G-Man” has a few perks after all.
The ability to make his eyes glow and see in the dark, the ability to create- both living and non living things, immortality and the ability to share it with something like a dog he created with his own two hands, and most of all, a connection to Time itself.
Tommy has all of these abilities under control, except for the very latter of the bunch. Because turning on and off your eyes like a flashlight is something he’s been doing as a kid; Immortality he was born with, sharing it came to him in his late twenties; and while difficult, Tommy now has a bit of a knack for creation; but Time? Time is something else entirely. It’s its own entity, and not even his father has much control over it.
And of course, with a difficult entity like Time, Tommy got saddled with the worst ability to have little control over. His father, G-Man, can freeze, suspend, and even travel through it. Tommy can see it, and Time shows him too much.
Tommy does not dream, he Sees. The branches of time are shown right before his eyes whether he likes it or not, and possibilities are laid out. Time is not set in stone- there’s millions of timelines and ways it could go- and when he sleeps, Tommy can see them.
There’s no physical way to stop it without fully mastering it, but Tommy has found that there’s a few things that can make it more pleasant or at the very least, bearable. Low stress or going to sleep happy and content means he usually sees happier timelines. Caffeine, for whatever reason, means that when he sees timelines, it’s at a speed where he doesn’t have to comprehend anything or have to see something he doesn’t want to see. So far, it’s the only two methods he knows, and since he can’t always control how stressful his situation is, Tommy turns to soda.
He means what he says. Soda helps him see faster. He’s just glad that he doesn’t have to explain it to Gordon. His inhuman attributes used to scare other kids off when he was younger, and he knows that Gordon is an adult like him and probably won’t run, but the fear runs deep and Tommy keeps his mouth shut.
Benrey knows, of course. He’s not human either, he understood. But even when Tommy has bad dreams, he doesn’t like to bother other people about it. They’re just dreams, he can handle them.
Until they get personal.
Tommy has been seeing dreams about how it could end for them in Black Mesa for days now, but his intake in soda means he doesn’t really process them. They pass by in a flash and Tommy wakes up and promptly forgets about whatever was shown to him.
But of course, his luck runs out.
Tommy’s leg bounces anxiously as he stares at the broken vending machine. Nothing but water- no caffeine. Water is good for survival- Gordon gulps it down greedily then gawks when Benrey eats the whole bottle in one bite making Tommy laugh- but it means Tommy’s at risk for bad visions. And with the stress of soldiers starting to come at them as well as aliens, he suspects that tonight will not end well.
There’s a tug at his sleeve. Tommy glances down to meet Benrey’s eyes, who studies him silently. He knows something’s up- of course he does- but Tommy smiles like there’s nothing to worry about. Benrey won’t confront him directly- not unless he’s certain it’s really bad- but he has a feeling that Benrey’s still going to try something in his own little way.
“Getting late.” Gordon comments, rubbing his eyes. “We should probably get some rest.”
“Baby Feetman wants a nap?” Benrey grins lazily. Gordon rolls his eyes in response, but doesn’t look all that annoyed. He’s more relaxed than usual, looking less like he’s a twig about to snap and more a river who’s just going with the flow. In fact, Tommy swears Gordon smiles for a second.
“Shut up, you got dark circles under your eyes. You could use it too.”
Benrey rolls his eyes. “Haven’t slept this entire time, don’t intent to start now.”
Both Tommy and Gordon’s attention snaps to him. Benrey almost shrinks under the spotlight, looking utterly confused. “Uh... Care to fill a bro in on what I said wrong..?”
“You haven’t slept?” Gordon’s voice raises.
“Benrey, that’s not good for your health!”
“Jeez fuck- I don’t need to sleep to live, guys.” Benrey cuts in. “Not like you guys. Besides, someone’s gotta keep watch so like, I don’t sleep. S’not a big deal.”
“Benrey, you- you told me that half of your energy to use your abilities comes from sleep.” Tommy says slowly.
“Yeah, and the other half is food. What of it?”
Gordon joins in. “We’ve gotten the bare scraps of food down here. You- you have to be running on empty.”
“Don’t worry about it, Bro-”
“No!” Both Tommy and Gordon shout simultaneously.
Benrey jumps, eyes darting between the two of them and rubbing the back of his neck. “Uh, this isn’t fair, you’re tag teaming me, I deserve someone on my team.”
Dr. Coomer pokes his head from around the corner, Bubby following. “Is something wrong? We heard some shouting!”
“Hey, Coomer, Bubs, you uh, you gotta back me up, they’re bullying me.” Benrey points accusingly at Tommy and Gordon respectively.
Bubby shrugs. “Just do what I did whenever someone bullied me.”
“Somehow I feel like this is going to be bad advice...” Gordon mumbles.
“Set them on fire.”
“Andddd I was right.”
Benrey pretends to consider it for a moment. Gordon rolls his eyes at him, earning a smile from Benrey. “But uh, these two keep yelling at me because I haven’t slept. Tell them to stop.”
Dr. Coomer frowns and Bubby narrows his eyes. Tommy snickers to himself, knowing Benrey isn’t winning this battle.
“You haven’t slept? What the hell do you think you’re doing? Fucking dumbass.”
“Benrey, sleep is an important function we all need to live!”
Benrey groans into his hands. Gordon grins cockily. “Hey, Bubby, Dr. Coomer, mind taking watch tonight while Tommy and I get Benrey to sleep?”
Bubby snorts like it’s obvious. Coomer smiles brightly and nods. “Of course! If anyone tries to come after you in your sleep, we’ll take care of them, if you know what I mean.” Coomer winks, then makes a punching gesture.
Gordon laughs at that. Tommy rather likes when Gordon laughs, his whole body moves with him. It’s wholehearted and genuine and if it were possible, Tommy would love to bottle it and keep it with him.
Tommy’s fully aware that he’s rather smitten with Gordon and Benrey. Benrey’s his best friend and Tommy is fine if it stayed that way, but he’s also felt a certain romantic fondness for him too. Benrey’s not easy to decipher but Tommy has learned he shows he cares in the subtle ways. How Benrey learns to read people and distracts them when they feel down. He’s done it to Tommy himself, and recently, he’s seen a very similar sentiment towards Gordon.
And Gordon wears his heart on his sleeve, which is endearing on its own. Tommy sees the way he acts around Benrey and around himself, and he can’t help but wonder if Gordon might feel the same way he does.
They find a place to camp out and before he knows it, Tommy has Gordon on one side and Benrey on the other. Despite lying on the concrete ground, Tommy doesn’t think he’s ever felt more comfortable in his life. Benrey’s curled up next to him and Gordon is lying on his side with an arm over him and Tommy feels himself get lulled to sleep. He doesn’t want to ever move again.
His dreams are not as kind as his situation. Because Tommy Sees all possible timelines, and one too many of them involve two of the people he cares about most in the world.
Benrey betrays Gordon and gets his hand get cut off. Gordon betrays Benrey and Benrey comes back not looking quite right. Gordon lets Benrey die, Benrey lets Gordon die, Benrey stands on an alien planet and attempts to kill everyone- does kill everyone. Gordon stands on an alien planet and sees Benrey being the thing they have to kill and he doesn’t hesitate.
They tear each other apart, no matter what Tommy says or does. And in a few timelines, their rage is directed towards him, and Tommy’s heart breaks into two.
“Tommy? Tommy, bro, c’mon, you gotta wake up.”
Benrey’s voice pulls him out of it. Tommy sits up, trembling and reaching out blindly. His vision is blurred and all attempts to speak come out as quiet sobs. A pair of hands grab onto his while a second gently touches his shoulder, grounding him to reality.
“Benrey?” It’s deathly quiet but it’s unmistakably Gordon’s. “Benrey- his eyes- is he okay? They’re- they’re gold-!”
“I know, dude, this happens sometimes, he’ll be okay.” Benrey responds, shockingly calm. “Tommy sees bad things sometimes when he goes to sleep and sometimes they’re overwhelming and this happens. Just... Trust me and follow my lead on this?”
A beat. Tommy tries to wipe his eyes but tears keep streaming down his face.
“Okay. I trust you.”
Tommy can’t see but he has a feeling Benrey is smiling a little at that.
Benrey and Gordon both begin to whisper reassurances and ask him what he can feel around him. They talk and talk and talk until eventually, Tommy can finally see them again and the anxiety in his chest is manageable.
“Thank you...” Tommy gives them a weak smile.
“Bad visions?” Benrey guesses. Gordon looks mildly confused but doesn’t ask questions. Tommy nods in response. “You... Wanna share or nah?”
Tommy’s gaze lowers. He sucks in a small breath. “It- it was a lot of bad timelines with you two. And I-...” He hesitated for just a minute but thinking of the timelines again made him push through it. “And I really care about both of you. A lot. In- in a platonic as well as a... A romantic way.”
Silence. Tommy swallowed thickly, not wanting to look at either of them and unsure if he made the wrong choice to tell them or not.
“Oh thank god, I’m not the only one.” Gordon blurted out. He let out a long breath, laughing softly. “I was- fuck, I was really struggling there.”
Benrey cracked a smile. “Cringe Gordon can’t deal with gay feelings? How embarrassing for you. Can’t believe I have gay thoughts for such a loser.” His eyes turn to Tommy and his smile grew. “I guess having gay thoughts for a really cool guy balances it out so it’s chill.”
Tommy couldn’t stop smiling. Was this really happening? Were they really all just on the same page? “R-really?”
Benrey shrugs. “‘M kinda surprised, thought I was obvious.”
“You’re not obvious with anything.” Gordon tells him, rolling his eyes but relaxing his shoulders.
“I...” Tommy let out a laugh. “I- I really care about you both! And- and after we get out of Black Mesa... I want us to stay this close.”
Benrey nodded. “‘Course we will. You’re some of my best bros and how else would I kiss you both goodnight like all bros should?”
Gordon snickered, then cleared his throat. “Hey uh... Have we all just been holding this in the entire time even though we all felt the same-!”
“YES.” Bubby screaming from across the room made all three jump in surprise. Bubby and Coomer were both sitting by the door, Bubby wrapped in Coomer’s arms but he still scowled at the three of them. “You’ve all been pining like a bunch of fucking idiots. Just ask a guy out by setting half a building on fire like a regular person!”
Tommy looked back at the other two and laughed to himself. Soon enough, the three of them were laying down again but this time, Tommy wrapped his arms around one each and held them close to him. In the morning, they could talk more about the three of them and their newly forming relationship, but for now, they deserved to rest.
Gordon’s head rested against Tommy’s shoulder while Benrey clung to him. Tommy felt his eyes get heavier and heavier but he wasn’t as afraid of getting a bad vision. Partly because he had two of the most important people in his life in his arms and he knew that those futures wouldn’t be his, but also partly because even if the visions did get to him, he had support when he woke up.
His own personal paradise. There was a light at the end of the tunnel and Tommy knew that by the end of this, he wanted both of them by his side and in his life for a long time.
I don’t know why this turned into a Tommy Lore/Angst Fest BUT hopefully it turned out alright! I hope you liked it! These three are veryyyy soft and it was sure fun to write! Feel free to send in another request if you want!

YAKUZA KIWAMI 2
Yeah, this is the one with the door meme.
Tumblr media
Graphics are improved from Kiwami 1 but the animations are still a bit stiff at times since it's based on a PS2 game. I liked the map of the first game and I got used to it but this one has a new map plus visitation to the old map so in my opinion, that automatically makes it better.
It's been about a year since I played Kiwami, as well as a year in-game, so what's new? Vending machines. Some new mini games. It doesn't show its hand at first but I feel like it adds a lot of new content, maybe not on the combat side of things but everything surrounding it makes it feel like a more complete experience.
You can fight in the stores and tear stuff up. And if you do, you can't buy from there until its cleaned up. I actually kinda like that detail even if it can be inconvenient, it gives you reason to control the situation but almost makes me WANT to bring thugs into places just to be chaotic.
Tumblr media
The interface has changed a little but I can't tell if it's clearer or not, I'm indifferent. There are also side jobs now which act as side quests, like being a bouncer which basically acts as a Collesseum. You can even manage a cabaret. These aren't really mandatory but fun little additions and give more initiative to do more side stuff.
The story feels like where it would naturally go but I do feel that the setting can be changed. We spend just a little too much time in Kamurocho compared to Sotenbori. I've seen and fought in a lot of these places and while the scenes and setups are different...do we need another funeral fight? In fact it goes out of its way to include it because it starts with a small skirmish then has you leave and go back to town, so sure, ok, they know that it's similar but then it has you come right back once the funeral is over and do the run sequence and boss 😂 I'll admit that it's a shorter sequence than last time and doesn't take place at the very beginning though. It also made for one of my favorite fights thus far. He used a sword, I used a knife and still kicked his arse.
It has some really good shots but it feels the need to keep reiterating itself and telling the viewer what they're seeing. There's a scene at the beginning where it shows a sign to show you the setting (in Japanese mind you, so I can only assume it said Sotenbori but it looked cool!) then pans down to Kiryu, it then flashes back to just before then with the woman telling him about her son, explaining why he's there and then it shows the sign AGAIN and pans down to Kiryu in a different manner than before. It's like they had scenes in mind but weren't sure which perspective to use so they just use both. This doesn't really affect the story, just the visual nature and sometimes makes the characters seem dense. For another example, there's a time where someone mentions 'fireworks' in a cutscene and then Kiryu basically goes "I wonder what that means" and then he hears a commotion and is like "Must be the fireworks." Then they show an explosion on TV "Those must be the fireworks." No dip Sherlock, I think the audience can put that together. I'm viewing this from a movie standpoint because there are so many cutscenes (which isn't a problem but you're going to bring out another critique in me) I talked about how bored I was with Xenoblade's cutscenes, this isn't quite at that level but while this game drags sometimes, it has some really good highlights.
Tumblr media
I'll be honest, I was against playing Yakuza 0 whenever I started this series because it just looked overrated but now I think the more of these games that I play, the more I wouldn't mind playing it. Especially seeing clips of it in the karaoke (and maybe seeing that Yuki is in both)
As far as length goes, I spent about 17 hours on the first Kiwami and while I did do more side-quests with this one, I never would've expected it would put me over 26 hours! So really, this game improves on the last one in almost every aspect, making it the superior model.
