okay so I'm ashamed to admit I've only ever seen the Amy Pond seasons of Doctor Who, but so many of my mutuals reblog Nine x Rose and Ten x Rose posts that I finally was like I have to watch this for myself.

And. The gifsets really didn't even do it justice. I'm only 5 episodes in and the chemistry between Nine and Rose is making me want to explode. Also, I feel like people really under appreciate Christopher Eccleston's Doctor, cause I absolutely love him. Also also, how tf has no one mentioned how devastating it is to watch Rose leave her mother when she's begging her to stay??? stg without Jackie Tyler this season wouldn't be as impactful

What is Kataang Week?

Kataang Week is when we, as a corner of the fandom, celebrate the ship Kataang on Tumblr! The prompts for Kataang Week 2024 were selected through five rounds of voting over the last few weeks and all prompts were submitted by Kataangers.

Cool, when is it?

Summer Kataang Week 2024 starts on Monday, July 29th - a little over seven weeks from today - and ends on Monday, August 5th.

Who is the founder of Tumblr's Kataang Week?

@secretsecrettunnel revived Kataang Week in the summer of 2013 a few years after Avatar: The Last Airbender ended and when the fandom was itching for more Kataang during The Legend of Korra’s run.

Who are the mods?

@airbender-dacyon AKA Mod Dan: A Kataang fanfic writer who prefers fluff, but also loves some drama and angst. Mod Dan started writing Kataang stories in 2013 and has helped organize Kataang Week since 2016.

@penguinsledder AKA Mod Atarah: A writer, gif maker, and musician–she enjoys fluffy young adult Kataang and all the ways they complement and parallel each other. She first joined Tumblr for Kataang Week 10 years ago, and started helping out with writing posts and making banners as a mod since 2016!

@itsmoonpeaches AKA Mod Belle: An avid Kataanger with a penchant for angst and mild violence who likes writing. Mod Belle has been a mod since 2021 and helps write posts and social media.

@chocomd AKA Mod Celes: Fanfic writer who adores Kataang for their fun and flirty side but also their bond forged through grief and loss. Mod Celes joined in 2023 and helps with a little bit of everything - whatever needs to be done!

How do I participate?

The most common ways to participate are by creating art or writing a fic and posting it online. Some people try and create something for every day while others only fill one or two prompts.

As always, we want to reassure you that it’s perfectly okay not to do every prompt! We just hope to have lovely pieces to share on each day.

But I can’t draw or write!

That’s totally fine - there are more ways to participate! You can sing a song, create a graphic, write a poem - just about anything really. You can also show your support by reblogging and liking other people’s contributions.

** And as always, there is a Free Day at the end of the week. You can use this day to post anything you’d like! It can be a prompt that didn’t receive enough votes or something you’ve been wanting to work on, anything goes!

How should I tag my work?

The easiest way for us to find your work so we can reblog it to this blog is by using the tag “kataang week”. Using “kataang” and “kataangtag” also help. You must tag one of the three in your first five tags otherwise it doesn’t appear in the search. It is also helpful to tag us directly with @kataang-week.

Sometimes even properly tagged posts may not appear when we search the tags, so if you do not see your content reblogged, please let us know.

Once we’ve reblogged it to this blog we add our own tags (a prompt tag and a user tag) for easy organization. This means we can find all the work for one prompt or all the work from one user in one easy click (this also means that if you have changed your username since participating last year you need to let us know so we can update your tag!).

Can I post my stuff other places online too?

Of course you can!

Why seven weeks? Is that enough time?

Traditionally, we like to provide our content creators seven to eight weeks to create quality content. Kataang Week is also traditionally held in the last week of July.

If you are unable to complete a prompt in time, please do not fret. You can alert this blog by mentioning it in your post (ex. @kataang-week) or messaging one of the mods and your content will still be shared even if it is a week (or a month - or sometimes more!) late.

We also like to post WIP for Kataang Week and encourage everyone else to do so as well - we reblog it here for motivation!

sooo I may be overlooking at things right now but hear me outt

After moon's dream/hallucinations or whatever the hell people wanna call this, I noticed a purple smoke (or idk the word but you understand) behind him

And many more thumbnails. We know that in the canon game (security breach), the virus is almost always represented by this color and with those rectangles + the aura. Now I'm not talking about vanny or idk, idc about her cuz this isn't about the canon game rn

I have many thoughts about this, because things happened before that and it could be related.

As I saw on some blogs (I can't find the one who wrote it but I know I've reblogged it), before ruin betrayed them, he said he wanted to infect ruin's virus into his own code to think like him which could be true since he really tried for weeks to think exactly like him and to have his informations. During his day off after his first breakdown after he saw old moon, sun was present the entirety of the episode, which isn't logic at all since it's MOON's day off not an episode of sun bringing food for 15 minutes ? Moon was alone in the house after a breakdown AFTER he tried to think like ruin AFTERR he said he wanted to inject the virus into himself. And strangely after that he started to act all nuts, maybe not just at the second episode but you can tell he went insane quickly, too quickly and it's too suspicious for me.

Back to the thumbnail, you can see thumbnails after thumbnails while scrolling on the channel that his aura gets more purple any time he's showing.

Now if we do the comparaison between ruin and moon reacting to the virus :

The virus accentuated ruin's personality into insanity. As we know, ruin is a melange between sun and moon. So we can say he was playful (sun's side) but with a kill code (moon's side) which made him a dangerous individual. He also lost his objective during the take over. Because yes ruin wanted to venge his friends but in the beginning he had the virus and it distracted him from his objective.

Now if we look at moon. The virus could have accentuated his personality (which makes him worse than old moon) and his goals (protecting his family, bringing solar back etc..). He's also losing his objective which is bringing solar of course. He doesn't know why he's doing it anymore.

I also remember when moon told Monty that he looked in his code and he found nothing. Kinda suspicious to me- he tended to lie back then too. I think he did really check his code to see if the virus was the cause of that. And of course when you add his poor mental state to begin with as he was grieving it doesn't help at all and makes things worse.

Anyways maybe it's my own paranoia talking rn but I just can't accept that all this insanity arc happened by Davis snapping his fingers

forgive me if you dont know the answer to this but i saw your post about putting ghee on rice - i'm trying to learn how to make desi dishes (i myself am not desi, but i've had the pleasure of learning to cook from some desi community members), but i can never get my dishes to taste just right! do you have any cooking tips, or any reliable resources you use for recipes?

hi!! i posted my family's daal recipe a couple years ago and i just reblogged it (you can also find it here) and i explain the process of cooking it and list all the ingredients. based on my research it's quite similar to recipes called 'daal langar' or langar daal, the type of daal typically made for the langar hall of a gurdwara, although the main difference is the style of chili used as we use birds eye chilis which are more common in malaysia! but you can use the typical indian green chilis instead if you want

i'm punjabi so i don't want to make generalizations for cooking other regional food, but these tips hold true for north indian cooking in an overall sense

(1) you can't forget to add the tharka, it's the backbone to most dishes, and make sure the onions ginger garlic are fully cooked before you toss the tharka into the curry pot. whole cumin seed, black mustard seed, garlic ginger and onions - without that combo there will always be something missing from a dish.

(2) salt is everything, you need to be heavier with the salt than you might think, especially with thick curries you can add all the spices in the world to them but if they don't have enough salt it'll somehow taste like nothing. the spices are asleep in the pot without their salt, don't be afraid to be generous with salt to wake them up. when i say generous i mean that i use 2 tbsp of salt in my daal recipe. trust me.

(3) put ghee on everything. be generous with it, like with your salt. it goes on the rice, the bread, in curries and daals, in desserts, it goes everywhere

(4) ALWAYS WASH YOUR RICE!!!

#punjabis are farmers our food is heavy and we love salt and butter and milk #if something is missing from a punjabi dish its probably lacking one of those things

The nerds have a groupchat. Grace sends "Jesus loves you!" gifs every morning, and also a bunch of praying emojis constantly.

This one is just silly and nothing serious, but sometimes the Lords in Black when they are in human-like forms they like to play pretend and mock humans. They usually act as if they were siblings to make fun of that.

Ruth Fleming is a Tim Minchin and Bo Burnham fan. Her favorite songs are definitely Confessions, High School Party and Nerds (Studio)

Ted Spankoffski is ALSO a Tim Minchin fan. This one is unexplainable honestly, my brain just told me this hc and I went with it, but look, it makes sense to me. His favorite song is Beauty.

Shopper #4 has committed multiple crimes. Mainly tax fraud. I have no reasons for this one, I just know it.

People from Clivesdale know what Hatchetfield says about them, but they think it's in a fun way. Frank Pricely is TRANS. this hc started as a joke but I started to take it seriously at some point. It's just the idea of it that is so funny. Frank basically came out with a friend of his by saying "Can I be frank with you?” and like, he told his friend that he was trans BUT he didn't know with what name to go by and asked him to help him chose a name, his friend thought about it and since he said 'frank' because he said the ‘can I be frank with you’ thingy and Pricely actually liked the name and then LATER ON his friend realized how fucking funny his name was considering that Frank is the capitalist ever and his last name is Pricely.

Ruth forced Grace to watch Jesus Christ Superstar.

Charlotte and Sam don't have any wedding pictures, so they don't have any visual memories of that day.

Char and Sam were high school sweethearts.

Ruth, Richie and Pete like to make gift exchanges every christmas and they get the stupidest shit ever for each other. And for some reason Ted also participates sometimes.

In any other timeline he has a different one, but in The Guy he has a Samsung. I won't even explain why I think it's too obvious and it would ruin the joke if I do explain.

The nameless background characters that Lauren and Jeff are playing in La Dee Dah Dah Day are both non binary and are also dating. Idk, I don't have explanation for this one, I just went with the vibes.

re: adobe's new terms of service

Dont take this as me being pro-adobe (i think they're an evil company with shitty software that i hate so much i dont even pirate) but the whole "you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free sublicensable, license to use, reproduce, display, distribute (etc.)" part of the TOS is like... bog standard. Completely normal. I hate to break it to you, but basically every social media, file sharing service, cloud storage site, or whatever else includes it in their TOS. Otherwise, for example, a site could not show your post to other users - or a file sharing service could not allow you to share files with other users. Because they'd lack the license to do so.

Even straight from the tumblr TOS:

"When you provide User Content to Tumblr (...) you grant Tumblr a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free, sublicensable, transferable right and license to use, host, store, cache, reproduce, publish, display (publicly or otherwise), perform (publicly or otherwise), distribute, transmit, modify, adapt (including, without limitation, in order to conform it to the requirements of any networks, devices, services, or media through which the Services are available), and create derivative works of, such User Content (...) The reference in this license to "creat[ing] derivative works" is not intended to give Tumblr a right to make substantive editorial changes or derivations, but does, for example, enable reblogging, which allows Tumblr Users to redistribute User Content from one Tumblr blog to another in a manner that allows them to add their own text or other Content before or after your User Content."

Or, if you rightfully think Tumblr is evil, here's the VGen TOS, a decidedly anti-AI, pro-artist platform:

"By posting Content to the Service, You grant us a worldwide, irrevocable, perpetual, non-exclusive, transferable, royalty-free license, with the right to sublicense, to use, view, copy, adapt, modify, distribute, license, sell, transfer, publicly display, publicly perform, transmit, stream, broadcast, access, view, and otherwise exploit such user Content on, through, or by means of the Service."

I hate adobe as much as the next guy, but this is normal. Without a license to redistribute your work, basically any site/program that "shares" what you make in ANY capacity could not function - or you could sue them for, like, showing your public posts to other users in search. The reason it sounds scary and alarming is because a TOS is a dense legal document that sounds as scary as any other dense legal document. on account of using legally specific language & not every TOS taking the time to clarify for the layman like Tumblr's does

Similarly, adobe has ALWAYS had access to your entire creative cloud and every file in it. I dont want to sound like a smartass, but when you upload a file to The Adobe Creative Cloud, you are, in fact, uploading the file. straight to adobe. this has always been the case. You're putting your file on adobe servers, of course they have access to the file you gave them, why in the world does anyone think otherwise

This is not a defense of adobe, im not even discounting the fact that they could & probably are cooking some evil AI shit or w/e, and i just think theyre a generally evil company even if theyre not... BUT i am pro-literacy and pro-understanding how things work. lmfao. and i find it both a little silly & a little stupid to be way too alarmist about things that are in basically every TOS/that are incredibly obvious if you sit and think for five minutes so tl;dr dont be stupid

Vibrant Colors Crystal Sale - June 7th 2024 Rules & Procedures

Hello friends! Everyone planning to participate in the sale today, please read. This is how everything will work. For tonight’s sale, I’ve curated a collection of crystals with a vibrant, rainbow theme in mind! 🌈

I will start posting items for sale directly here on Tumblr. To claim an item and place your order, do the following:

Reply to the post (those who are unable to reply for whatever reason can reblog) saying “sold” or “mine" with the quantity you’d like to claim. It’s important you do this so we can see who claimed something first in case something sells out.

Keep a list of everything you claim (with the item number for each item). Once you’re done claiming, please message me over the instant messenger.

Include the following information in your message:

Your email address for the invoice, the country you live in (for shipping purposes - we are shipping from Austria), and the list of what you claimed (with the item numbers). Also please let me know if you want your order to be *open box* or *ready to ship*. “Open box” simply means you want us to hang onto your items after you pay so that you can continue to add things from future sales so everything can be shipped together for convenience 😊

Shipping to Europe is $12

Shipping elsewhere is $15

For extra-large packages, shipping is $20

Be sure to send your info at the end of the sale or whenever you’re sure you’re done claiming.

Invoices will be sent tomorrow (Saturday), but in most cases take 2 days to finish sending. Invoicing will be done through my online shop “Bekkathyst” - the invoice gets sent to your email and you get the option to pay with a PayPal account or with a credit or debit card. You don’t need to have a PayPal account to pay.

Payment is due by the end of Monday (June 10th). Please pay as soon as possible.

Unfortunately due to problems we have encountered before - if you claim items and then at the end of the sale and either don’t respond to your invoice or never message, you will be blocked.

So recently found out I could have NPD, but genuinely curious how to handle a narc crash. Because I was told I'm too much to handle and the things I created with so much love and effort isn't going to be interesting to others, I'm just trying to hold it all together to not over react

Sorry for taking a while to answer, I had to think up some tips.

I personally like to look through those like.. positive affirmation posts, if that makes sense? the npd positivity tag has some good stuff!

Some quick supply is to text someone that you know is affectionate and supportive!! Some people just really love giving attention, so those are the kinda people you'll want around.

Music is always a good one for me. It depends on your personal taste, but we typically like stuff similar to buzzkill by mothica..

Talk to other narcissists. Nobody understands us better than our own community! Our dms are always open, too!

Wuko Nation Tumblr Community

Hi everyone, the new Tumblr feature, Communities, is currently in beta testing. I thought it might be interesting to be a part of the beta test with a Wuko community. There's not much there yet as I only got approved yesterday.

At this time, I must manually add members, and I can ONLY add main blogs. If you would like to join, reply to this post with your main username and I will add you (or you can message me privately, if you prefer). Due to the fact that communities only works with main blogs, you'll see me in there as @sweetorangepoptart

Once in the community, you can make original posts in the community and reblog regular posts into the community. You can comment on posts and reblogs, and only other members of the community can see the comments. You can also add emoji reactions to posts.

Tumblr is seeking feedback during this beta test, and you can give them feedback here using the "Feedback" category, regardless of whether you are in a community or not.

There will be bugs and issues and they will be gradually adding new features as time goes on and they receive more feedback. And if that doesn't sound like something you're interested in, no worries! You can always scream about Wuko with me here. My askbox and DMs are always open!

I wish some aces would stop excluding other aces with complex sexual experiences. like I get why but you have to realize that being ace does not mean they don't enjoy sexual experiences and it's weird when you complain about allo people and boil it down to "people who have sexual experiences" and also shame people for their sex life and kinks as if your own community doesnt INCLUDE those people. because there are other aces out there who still masturbate, who feel sexually attracted to their own body, who barely experiences sexual attraction but still enjoys sex, who like consuming sexual media, who like sfw kink. being ace is so so much more complex than just "disliking sex". and also aromantic exclusionism in the same genre of posts is something i see a lot. especially aro allos. I hate hate hate seeing a community that SHOULD be inclusive boil down sexuality and exclude people.
