this is just something i want to have just in case so i can weed out my target audience (audience capture basically), cement myself, and to avoid fights if i ever get into any lol

i got better things to do then argue like its twitter

⚠️ so if you disagree with any of these, to the point where it will bother you, please find someone else's stuff, my content is not for you ⚠️

☆ my main target audience are grills like me :D who are openminded and just want to consume stories with good plot and characters;;

☆ i'm a little edgy/traditional, (politically i'm like in the middle) and my takes may sometimes bleed into my work (if they're in my writing or art) and they might not correlate with mainstream opinions;;

ex: free speech/expression and true equality (i think opportunity and success should be based on ability and talent, not identity. im sigma lol)

ex: NUANCE EXISTS -- not everything is black and white, i believe you can like things from a person and also not condone everything they do;; and i do not take things at face value, i'm about skepticism and seeing both sides to a story

☆ compelling writing >>> relatable writing;; I'm more about writing stories for the plot, character relationships, growth, personalities, etc. the characters physical identity (ex; race) is secondary, unless its pivotal to the story;; i'm srry but i will always prefer an interesting character than a boring one that's supposed to be my representation

⚠️ basically: a character's race/identity shouldn't matter too much, because people can relate to a character regardless of what they look like ⚠️

☆ what i write or make will always be my choice. -- i will not be bending the knee to people who want me to change my writing or art (in a way i disagree with) or be bullied out of making content. my works are self indulgent, so it will have things not everyone will like. you can't please everyone, so i choose not to, and i only cater to my target audience.

if you like my work, then you like it, if you don't, you don't and go look for someone else to suit your tastes. (or be like me and make ur own stuff heheh) i'm not looking to change it to something i won't enjoy creating, because then i would not post.

☆ if you are prone to take offense easily, do not engage with me or my works, they will not be for you. -- i believe taboo subjects can be in narratives for the purpose of storytelling, because that's just a normal part of fiction. it shouldn't take away from the story, or reflect the author (unless they have a pattern of being weird, i guess?)

☆ i make content for a specific audience, so apologies if its not inclusive for everyone, please go look for someone else, there's a lot of media out there that's hyper inclusive, so i usher you to go find those (and i hope you do :>)

☆ Separate fiction from reality + Separate art from the artist -- I do not condone any dark content/themes depicted in my works. Any works done in fiction should not be adapted to real life.

☆ I usher viewers to be responsible when engaging with my works. -- I.e. if you're a minor you probably shouldn't be interacting with nsfw or media marked as mature. Policing what people see online is impossible though, so I'd rather not go out of my way to. I'm not liable if people overlook my warnings, ratings, or tags;;

supervising what you look at online is ultimately your parents job, not mine

(as of right now) I would rate most of my stuff right now for like teenage and up, but I do have stuff that I also consider 18+, so please try to heed my ratings/warnings/mature tagged stuff and block them!!

☆ please don't ask for updates or requests (unless i ask) -- i don't really have this issue so ty!

i don't really do requests because i usually just write or draw when i have an idea and want to see it through. i do my best when i'm motivated, in the mood, and doing what i feel like; i have nothing against requests, its just not for me ^^;

☆ my work might have plot holes, typos, errors, and ill try to fix them accordingly (unless there's a reason for it) and i'll try to complete works, unless i really have no motivation to finish them

same for my art, i'm still practicing so it kinda sucks rn but that's how progress works

☆ constructive criticism is welcome -- i don't mind criticism on my works, and i do read/hear them out. however, be respectful about them, and i will be respectful back (even if i have a differing opinion and decline requests);; that being said, i have a right to decline taking your advice if i disagree with your opinion.

I mean if you want to get technical it’s not to far fetch that Oddworld could exist in the Star Wars World. Like Slogs And Slegs look like they could be cousins or at least distantly related to the Massifs from Star Wars. Especially in one Clone Wars episode where I swear they move and look very similar to Slogs (it’s the one clone wars episode where Aurra Sing and Child Boba Fett go to meet Hondo if you are curious)

I'm actually not that versed in Star Wars as I've only seen the original trilogy, the non-canon Animated Droids and Ewoks series when I was a wee Spooce Shrub, so many of these are actually going above my head. Sadly I have never seen any of the clone wars episodes.

The only other star wars media I saw in full was The Force Awakens. I know my family binge watches the The Mandalorian and The Book of Boba Fett but I have yet to see any of them for myself.

I'm so sorry heheh. I'm an oldies Star Wars person as you can tell.

However I did see bits and pieces of the Book of Boba Fett so I know what a Massif is. I agree. Slogs at the very least are like Massifs in a way. Albeit Slogs being less friendly towards their masters and much more willing to turn on them if they are hungry enough.

I absolutely agree that Star Wars and Oddworld are not that far off given they are interstellar warriors fighting a bigger war than what was first presented to them at least if we go by the original trilogy's side from it. I'm going off by what I know from my own experiences and this is just...if we wanna make comparisons and not just a unique take on it. Spoocy's just overthinking right now and musing about it...

Lady Margaret kind of being in the same spot as Emperor Palpatine.

And slave trading being a kind of common practice even if it was considered Illegal. ((Considering a few quotes from Soulstorm given by The Brewmaster made a small hint that what the Magog Cartel are doing could be considered illegal and even they are not immune to facing charges from the laws of Oddworld.))

Use of Robotic helpers like the shrinks in place of droids.

a few of my buddies kind of agree that Alf would make a prime Han Solo. Molluck would probably be in place of Jabba, Abe being the Luke Skywalker. Big Face being in the spot of Obi-Wan Kenobi

((At least if we go off of the original three movies that I know well enough))

If we Include Spoocy Muses/Fan Characters....

Elli would be in the place of Princess Leia. Given that despite the...attraction at first, it was later discovered that Leia and Luke are in fact siblings so that was quickly nipped in the bud. Leia instead going for Han Solo. Which is kind of funny to me given that Elli was originally shipped with Abe in my stuff before I moseyed over to Oddtumblr and before my interactions with my buddy @themudokonmessiah. This is just kind of an amusing point to me.

Gabriel Lure in this case would be in the place of Anakin Skywalker...which would make Gabriel under the influence of Lebone/Noddaba the Darth Vader of Odd Wars.

And if we go by including of the muses, and some of these i actually had to look up and have no experience of these myself...

Noddaba would be... I think Darth Plagueis or even Ajunta Pall who was the very first Sith Lord. I sadly do not know much about either of these two. I just know that Ajunta Pall was a jedi that became the very first Sith Lord. and to save those spoilers from those who want to play the Knights of the old republic games...given what happens to Ajunta Pall by the end... Is something a little bit similar to what i have planned for Noddaba by the end of The Fall of Noddaba plot. Can't reveal too much about that as it is spoiler territory.

Mama Jeni being Master Yoda. Lady just has Abe trying to train while she's trying to get her daily chores done like having Abe swing across a bog so she can collect some honey from a beehive across the way.

I feel like I should just shove in my pre-established headcanons that I always have for Mista before I start like what I did for my man Jonathan:

-Oldest in the family and (ironically) has four younger sisters!

-His parents worked a LOT growing up so he was often treated as the third parent growing up, doing almost everything for them in search of their approval

-It made him very responsible, but it also made him feel like he had to be responsible for everything and everyone

-That mindset followed him to where he is now; no matter how relaxed he seems to be, there’s always a feeling in the back of his head that he has to manage everything and be responsible for everyone’s safety and health

-Loves physical affection but would rather die than be an “active burden” on anyone

-Not in any form of contact with his family since he went to prison (and misses them a lot) ;(

Pain Tolerance

-Getting shot? Been there, done that. Kidnapped and interrogated? He can hold off for a surprisingly long amount of time. Drugged? Barely even phases him.

-We all know he probably has the highest pain tolerance in the entire team

-Partially because it seems like he always gets hurt no matter what he’s doing

-I headcanon him as the oldest in his family so he was always brought up to have really thick skin and was always thought to be the most responsible growing up

-His parents were working all the time, so that meant he had to take care of his siblings whenever they were hurt

-But meant when he was injured as a kid, he had to deal with it himself :/

-When he first joined the gang, it was:

1) weird not being the oldest, and

2) really weird having people actually worried about you when you got hurt

-Even with Giorno having Gold to help them out all the time and Giorno insisting that its literally his stand’s purpose, he still feels this weighted guilt every time he needs someone else’s help

-Our man acts all whiny about it but truthfully, if he was given the option, he would much rather ride it out on his own or deal with things himself :(

Injury

-In all honesty, he’s probably one of the only members of the team that wouldn’t be opposed to going to a hospital

-Whereas Bruno or Narancia would be fucking terrified of stepping foot in one again for obvious reasons, the rest of the gang are just pretty stubborn about it

...

-He tends to be overdramatic most of the time when he gets hurt, but you can tell when something is really hurting him when he’s absolutely silent

-It’s almost the opposite of his other team members; most of them get uncharacteristically loud and panicky when they’re in serious serious pain but it's almost like his brain just completely shuts down

-He gets so quiet that he’s basically unresponsive and his body keeps trying to numb itself as the pain gets worse and worse

-It always bites him in the ass later when his state starts wearing off and all the pain his body was blocking out comes back tenfold and it's just OUCH

...

-Mista’s a pretty touchy guy. He practically lives off human contact

-Except when he’s hurt.

-His body kicks into this weird overdrive where he wants no one to touch him and he’s just supposed to deal with it himself

-Idk how accurate this actually is in canon but I headcanon that Gold Experience’s healing methods don’t actually hurt that much, it's actually pretty soothing for most people

-The reason Mista always freaks out whenever Gold is healing him is because of his weird defense mechanism that kicks in when he’s hurt

Sickness

-His chapter in Comm Break was pretty much just a sickfic because I decided to give him appendicitis, but I have other headcanons hehehe…

-I was actually going to make him lactose intolerant in the first draft and the chapter being about him having no fucking idea why he was sick and Abbacchio just being like “...dude...”

-I eventually dropped it for something with similar elements but more of a dramatic plot, but I still like the headcanon that he’s too dumb to know that getting sick all the time after eating dairy just isn’t normal

...

-He loves taking care of other people because it reminds him of taking care of his sisters; like he’ll be willing to do anything and he’s a master at making people feel better :)

-But him?

-Oho,,,he fuckin hates being sick >:)

-Maybe not Giorno in The Unknown levels of hatred, but the fact that everyone does nothing but makes sure he’s okay the entire day gives him this warm, fluffy feeling in his chest that MAKES HIM EMOTIONALLY CONFUSED because no one ever gave a shit about him pre-passione

-Is he the type of person to completely deny any feeling of ailment until it’s definitely too late? YES. DEFINITELY.

-Usually it's one of the bucci gang who will figure out he’s under the weather before he does.

“You’re looking a bit pale...”

“Nope.”

“Are you feeling alright? You don’t look so good.”

“Totally fine!”

-He’ll refuse to rest until he passes out, is pressed up against the tiles on the bathroom floor, or someone (usually Bruno) shoves a thermometer in his mouth and proves that he absolutely HAS to

-Give him some medicine and he’ll pass out for HOURS. All he’ll do is sleep because he wants to get over it as soon as possible

Emotional Stress

-Mista’s like an open book when it comes to most emotions

-You might not know when he’s hurt, but you’ll sure as well know when he’s sad or stressed

-He’s not afraid to cry, and even though he probably won’t tell anyone why he’s sad, bottling up his emotions was just something that he was never prone to doing

-Bruno’s gotten used to finding him in the kitchen at 3am waiting for his bread to toast and there’s just tears and Bruno’s like “...Meesta ;-;”

-but then there’s hugs so it's ok :,)

-Also Mista is definitely the type of person to just kind of slink into a room and have someone be like “what’s up?” and he’s like “I’m feeling fucking terrible!! :))))” and before they can even reply BOOM WATERWORKS-

-He’s ultimately not ashamed of it because it helps keep him regulated in the long run (and the homies are always willing to provide him with that good comfort) :)

This sad shit is the exception though…

-When he’s with the bucci gang, he’s not afraid to let his emotions run wild sometimes because he knows it’s always little things to keep him chill

-Not about this, though. Because he actually considers this big

...

-Mista has eternal homesickness for his family.

-His parents, his sisters, his uncles and aunts and cousins.. they all cut contact when he went to prison

-It wasn’t a huge fight, but a slow burn of distancing from each other.

-He misses them so damn much. He misses his childhood home, and the way his Madre would cook, and the stupid shit his sisters used to do...

-It comes and goes in waves; most days the feelings don’t hit him but sometimes, especially on holidays, birthdays of his family members, and even his own birthday, it hits hard.

-Normally when something’s bothering him he doesn’t see a problem in just talking or venting to someone

-But with this it's different because he knows if he starts talking about it, it’ll just be uncontrollable and he’ll be a fucking mess if he even tries

-Mista, despite his demeanour, is extremely good at hiding his feelings when he has to ;-;

-He’s too embarrassed to tell anyone, so he spends a lot of those days curled up in his room, sobbing into his pillow

-Even on holidays, when it’s hard to celebrate at all, he manages to hold it in until celebrating is over

-He knows they all suspect something is up, but he also knows that they won’t push him to say anything

-They can all tell he gets fragile certain times of the year, so they try their best to be extra soft with him when he does decide to come out and spend time with them <3

Hi, I’d like a Hetalia matchup, please...

I’m bi, so a guy and a girl would be cool! Anyway, I prefer someone on the quiet, gentle side; maybe someone who could take care of me a bit. I have trust issues, and I tend to get shivery and nervous just thinking about talking to people and being in love... I want to have a relationship nonetheless, hahaha... I would just be happy with someone gentle, patient, and understanding. I might end up a bit more affectionate and clingy as the relationship turns long term, though, so maybe someone who’s also a little affectionate. I’d also love to learn about their culture and history, as long as that’s fine with them... Scratch what I said before, I might get SUPER clingy, and I might never leave their side. I’m probably the type to push myself to be more affectionate, even though I’ve never been in a relationship before, and I might constantly require a hug. I’m pretty sure I’m willing to give hugs and hold hands, but kissing and other gross stuff tends to weird me out... I mean, I guess I’d get used to it, and I’d be willing to try, I’m just weird, heheh...

My personality type is INFP (except I’m probably the worst of them), and—outside of my mental breakdowns—stand for peace and kindness. I want to be there fork someone, and I strive to be someone at least likable. I’d love to cuddle (as soon as I get comfortable with someone), and I’d also love to just be with them. My love language is probably words of affirmation, and I’m pretty naive because of that. I’m not good with socialization or eye-contact, but you’d be surprised at how it depends on the person. I can make eye contact with authority figures, but not peers??? I blush extremely easily, so if anyone finds that cute or something, I’d love to be cute and smol to someone else (even though I’m far from being a cinnamon roll)...

I can’t emphasize enough how much I’d just like to snuggle, curl up, and nap under a blanket with my s/o... I like stormy weather, it’s just so soothing. I’d just love to feel like they’re taking care of me and protecting me, and I’d just love to lay on their chest and fall asleep... Sigh~... I just wanna be seen as smol and stuff, and I just kinda wanna adore them, too... Just snuggling up on a quiet, rainy/snowy day and turning the lights out, lighting some candles, and listening to some soft music—that would be heaven... I feel weird saying all this about a fictional character, but at least there’s reality shifting! Haha... 😅😢

I tend to attract either quiet, lonely people. I’m not sure why, I just do. I’m a bit quiet and lonely myself, but I’m also aloof when others try to talk to me. I enjoy writing stories, drawing, and being out in nature. I also enjoy the idea of cuddling and snuggling up in someone’s arms (ideally someone taller than me, I’m only 5’3, so that’s quite a few guys, but I’m not picky with girls so much), but I might be shaky. I used to dance and sing a lot, but I’m too emotionally unstable to do it anymore. I hope this isn’t too morbid or weird or anything, I’m just...I dunno, haha... Other than that, a lot of the people that I attract tend to attract aren’t naturally trusting, and I tend to come off as trustworthy, so they tend to reveal a lot of things very quickly.

I have this burning feeling that every single Hetalia character would hate me, but what can I do? Even if someone doesn’t like me, I’ll make them like me. Uhh... I mean... I just hope someone would like me. I know I’m pretty much universally undesirable when people get to know me, and I may sound like a psychopath—I probably am—but I’ve never really known the feeling of someone other than a family member caring about me. It’s sick to say, but I’d rather be there for them than them be there for me. Maybe if they could relate to me in some sick way, I guess I’d be happy if we could mutually take care of each other. Just the thought of someone caring makes me cry, haha... Speaking of emotions, I’m pretty expressive and obviously can’t hide anything; my emotions have more plot twists than the average anime or K-drama 🤣😂

I hope this wasn’t too heavy or long or anything, and I hope I’m not too crazy for this, heheh... Thanks in advance, I’m kinda nervous...

What Will it Take? - (One Piece) Sanami Fluff

1. How many are you happy with?

Six out of Nine! I’m not unhappy with the other ones, per se, but they’re a bit too explicit (more detail below). The current SasuSaku Modern AUs that are on-going just fell into my lap because they’re fusion fics, and I’ll Do It was planned from the very very very beginning. I debated Three Rules with a last minute change (I toyed with That Damned Blindfold but stuck with it in the end), and Chocolate, Strawberries and Whipped Cream was... well it was the obvious choice. Although in retrospect I kind of wish I chose Dessert lol. Heaven was my favourite happy accident.

2. How many are…not great?

Like I said, not unhappy, but...

System, the Host Forgot Her Mission was setting up for something but now I’m not suuuuper sure it makes sense any more. I’ll deal with it when I get there, lol

Spoken Form the Heart (or Thereabouts) - I’m not sure I’m happy with the parenthesis, but you can’t have a Sanji x Nami ficlet collection and not insert some of Sanji the horndog, lmao

What Will It Take? - I honestly just could not think of a title, so I went with my working title, which still mostly gets the point across?

3. How many did you scramble for at the last minute?

.Three Rules was almost a scramble, but I stuck with it. I usually start with a working title, but if I’ve written something particularly clever or played up a trope while I’m writing, I will change the title to be more on point. What Will It Take was one of the ones that stuck with the working title, while Heaven was my happy accident - I originally just ended the fic with Nami in Sanji’s arms and him calling that home, but the fic was a bit short (under 1K), and I was already thinking of Nami’s revenge for Three Rules, soooooooo... I asked myself how could I make it even more fluffy, and then Heaven happened. Spoken was Corru and me batting it around in the R/Fanfiction server (He wasn’t the one who suggested the parenthesis, I added that when I published, and that’s the part I’m kind of annoyed with).

4. How many did you know before you started writing/creating, or near the beginning?

I am an incurable plotter, so I had a working title for most everything. For something like Spoken, though, the working title was “50 Drabble Prompts” which wasn’t publishable. Most everything else I use as a working title is publishable, but sometimes I quite enjoy my own ingenuity when I’m writing, so. (Hear that? that’s the sound of my ego suffocating my city)

5. How many are quotes from songs or poems?

None... I don’t actually go fishing into songs or poems for titles, although I probably should

6. How many are other quotes?

A Tiny Smirk is Devastating and The Words I Want to Hear are both cribbed from the original CNovel I’m fusing on - does that count?

7. Which best reflects the plot of the story/content of the fanwork?

Hmmmm plot wise? That’s hard. Probably The Words I Want to Hear, mostly because you’ll notice that each chapter title references the words someone really wants to hear that chapter, but they’re never actually said, hehehe. Spoiler alert: one of the future chapters is titled “I Love You”. Everyone be prepared to scream.

8. Which best reflects the theme of the story?

Oh, oh, this has GOT to be I’ll Do It. I was actually trying to have the POV character say a variation on that theme for all the chapters until I went on hiatus and forgot about it, lol. But yes, that story is all about choices and agency, especially when it comes to love. See if you can spot all the references for funsies.

9. Which best reflects the character voice of the story/pov of the fanwork?

Three Rules - It’s a very prim and proper title to a very naughty fic and totally captures Nami’s revenge, muahahah.

10. Which is your favourite title?

Which is my favourite child? Break my heart, why don’t you?

hi!! just wanted to say during the past two days I’ve read a ton of your larry fics. just...wow. The fuck fake friends on I thought was going to be light and playful based on the description and title and it was so intense and I really loved it even though it wasn’t what I was expecting. I’m the anon that messaged you awhile ago about Steal my heart (whatever it takes to get you off) and your writing is on a whole other level than fic I have read from anyone else...like so beautiful done and just...so wonderful. FFF was super painful, and the ending was magnificent. I want to read everything you’ve ever written, god, I cannot get enough of your writing. I just read the coffee shop/tattoo parlor AU and it was so good. Your light hearted stuff, your heavier stuff...I feel like (if you’re writing from a place within yourself) our minds in the way we view our identities are really similar and reading FFF gave me a million inspirations to write other stuff with internalized homophobia plot lines and the complexity of feelings...just...wow. Your fic obviously comes from such a deep place&Im in awe of your writing and the way your mind puts these stories together. Whoever has the privilege to know you is incredibly lucky& Im just basing that on your fics and your responses to my anon a bit ago about your receptionist au. I had to get all these feelings towards you out (seems like something I have to do every time I read your work bc I feel such a connection to it).

Okay this has ended up being such a long reply but I’m just so happy you were able to retrieve the messages you wanted to send because this has made my day, week, year, life, and I just can’t wrap my head around that you would say all these kind and thoughtful things!!! I’m hella obsessive about other fic writers whose writing I love and want to just go and scream at them how much it means to me, so to GET exactly that is just SO mind blowing and I want to say thank you SO much. It’s not too much or bad or anything negative at all, I’m genuinely so extremely grateful you wanted to say this. I’m so happy you find appreciation in your recognition because honestly I’ve been scared of writing for a while, because I felt that the themes were too heavy and I didn’t have a good association to internalized homophobia because once I spoke too much about it here, and it just makes me all the more grateful because you’ve shown the greatest support even when asking about it the last time you messaged. Thank you, all in all. I know that FFF (as the fic is nicknamed, like the song, because we stan bebe rexha in this house) is one I really put effort into trying to express some pain I was feeling at the time and if you write yourself maybe you can relate to that it can be really very therapeutic to see your problems in a different way like this and make it a creative project, to both let it out and let it go, and also try to make sense of how both people were thinking to have this outcome. I don’t know if I wrote about it anywhere but the inspiration was partially a friendship I was losing because we were both really acting like them, you know, like idiots, if you’ve ever done things to make someone jealous and it’s just really toxic but uummm you still want to have them back in your life? Like that, and of course a longer internal project of accepting your sexuality as you’ve been able to tell, the secrety and the longing and the pain, pretending it doesn’t exist and doing things that just hurt more than do good, and YEAH IT SUCKS, like oh my god it’s such a painful story that I just couldn’t get out of my head. But at least I hope you caught the ending and the short sequel of chapter 2 when they made it! :’))

I think if you haven’t read The One When Louis Finds Out as the most recent one, you might like!! It’s a much lighter and easier one, to make up for all the bad hehehe OH and gosh if you want to come off anon, but this is totally up to you, I’m writing another long one now I’ve had in my drafts for way over a year or two. TROS thoughts? TROS thoughts.

just some thoughts abt TROS and the trilogy as a whole. I don’t actively talk abt SW much so this’ll prolly be p disorganized, but I just wanted to throw some thoughts to the wind lmao. also thanks @cobwebbing for bullying me into watching TROS as quickly as possible and also yelling abt all these jumbled thoughts with/at me

overall I rly liked it! with a lot of criticisms! and I’ll expand under the cut

so, as usual, everything reylo was p spectacular. Rey trading off her light-saber to Kylo? that last bombastic kiss? Kylo fading into a force ghost to presumably reunite w/ his family? the mutual healing of one another-- and in particular, Kylo not only sharing his own life-force, but that which Rey had previously gifted him for the stab wound??? the DRAMA! the ROMANCE!! I was going absolutely (mentally) HOGWILD during those scenes, AAAAA I couldn’t have asked for better! Rey and Kylo are totally gonna have a force-ghost honeymoon and I’m here for it

my one big criticism w/ anything involving them was Palp being Rey’s grandad. Star Wars has always had weird hangups abt bloodlines, so it felt very fresh to see the protag be a whole-ass nobody-- u don’t need to come from some line of force-sensitive heroes/baddies to be somebody! ANYBODY can be somebody if they choose to be! yeah, she technically still renounced her “evil blood” to be a good person, but it felt a lot cheaper than just letting her be a nobody that chooses that path. I feel like there’s a nugget of good to be found in her adopting the Skywalker name at the end (y’all know I’m a sucker for adopted family~), but compounded w/ all the other hangups w/ bloodlines, it kinda felt like another affirmation that only Skywalkers can ever be the big important heroes or something, idk

that all said, I don’t hate Palp’s existence in TROS, I just don’t want him related to Rey in any way. tho his existence was still a bit awkward at parts (Snoke was a clone? who were all those cultists in the stands around the throne? how did he even survive the first trilogy?? hello???). but overall I rly liked the idea that the reason Sith kill their masters is for some reincarnation-death ceremony. when u hold that against the fresh new cast of heroes in this trilogy, you get this theme of, “evil ideals are always the same-- stagnant and unchanging. good must evolve and grow to combat it.” if that makes sense? I just rly like that implication

it was weird how easily Kylo seemed to drop any connection to Vader? like when Rey knocked Vader’s mask on the ground, I thought Kylo would either feel angry that she almost destroyed it, or betrayed by the reminder that he was never rly talking to Vader anyways, or SOMETHING, but he kinda just left it there in the snow? it was just strange, after all the build-up

now aside from anything involving Rey and Kylo, everything else was..... well, it was abt as I expected. which wasn’t good, coming off the heels of TLJ’s treatment of anyone that wasn’t Rey, Kylo, or Luke. while JJ and Rian do a fantastic job w/ reylo stuff, they seem to just let everything else fall to the wayside, which is unfortunate in a lot of ways

for one, Finn is one of my favorite characters in SW as a whole, and it’s heartbreaking to see his character arcs fall apart before they even start (post-TFA). he has so much depth and potential-- enough to even be the main protag, as some have pointed out. while I don’t agree that he’s a better foil to Kylo (and that’s not just my reylo bias, like they rly don’t have the same personality chemistry or thematic conflicts imo), I could totally see a SW trilogy centered around him instead (tho idk if I’d be able to properly doctor the script to THAT degree on my own... 🤔...)

either way, Finn’s potential was rly squandered the last two movies, and I’d love to see that rectified. I’ve always been disappointed that Finn immediately went to shooting other stormtroopers in TFA w/o any hint of hesitation, so I’d ideally like to give him some conflicted feelings during TFA to start off with. then, I’ve always thought his plot in TLJ should’ve been focused completely on stormtroopers-- no casino, no fox-horse racing or anything. he and Rose would IMMEDIATELY sneak onto the FO ship from the beginning of the movie as undercover stormtroopers, gathering info for the Resistance and trying to shut down the FO’s tracking tech, while also feeling out the thoughts of fellow stormtroopers. maybe some troopers would be gung-ho abt the FO, while others would like to rebel but are too scared, while others still had never considered the option of rebellion until Finn planted just a little seed for them. however, by the end of TLJ, his efforts might’ve *seemed* useless, like the FO might’ve killed off any defecting stormtroopers. then we’d hit TROS, and Finn might be a bit colder, and bit more willing to kill stormtroopers, b/c even if he could convert them, he wouldn’t be able to protect them, so he might as well end it as quickly as possible. but THEN he’d meet the former stormtroopers-- not just strangers this time, but some of the troopers he’d met while on the FO ship in the previous movie! they’d escaped, and his efforts weren’t for naught! his actions still mattered, and continue to matter as everyone moves forward!

also, can I just say, fucking weird that Finn’s suddenly force-sensitive?? I’m not necessarily against him being force-sensitive, but I’m attached to the idea of an important character that doesn’t have any significant connection to the force-- he was just a talented dude! but even then, I think I’d be more open to it if not for how it was introduced. apparently, the only reason he (or any stormtrooper, as far as we know) defected is b/c the force told them to. no personal decisions based on morals or logic or even basal fear, just some “force-instinct”. that’s just.... so insulting to his character and the potential for stormtroopers, I’m reeling lmfao

Poe is an interesting case for me b/c I don’t feel any particular way abt him. like, he’s fine? but I care far more abt reylo and Finn than I do Poe, so I haven’t put as much thought into how I’d change his arcs, BUT I do have a few ideas. since I’d nix Finn’s casino trip in TLJ, I’d have Poe kinda take the helm of that-- rather than a slow crawl thru space on low fuel, the Resistance’s problem would be their space-jumping tech (+ the FO tracking them of course), so they’d have plenty of fuel to jump, but for some reason they’d have to recharge or re-fix something after each jump? so it’s more like a lil space roadtrip for Poe’s plot, where he’s jumping the Resistance to different planets, hiding their ships somewhere before the FO catches on, and waiting until the can jump again to the next hiding spot. all the while, Poe’s keeping in touch w/ Finn, trying to keep the FO off their tails for just a little bit longer, or gathering info on their plans. I rly liked Poe’s TLJ arc of, “sacrificing a few for the cause is actually kinda shitty,” so I’d like to keep that, like maybe he makes a few risky decisions while running? and then later, when Finn tries to sacrifice himself to the FO’s canon (in this case b/c he thinks his efforts w/ the stormtroopers didn’t work, so maybe he can do just this one thing--), Poe’s like Oh Fuck No and smacks him outta the sky. so Poe has this moment like, “wow, perhaps I’m not as ok w/ all this sacrifice as I thought? also I might have a crush?😳” and then in TROS he’s coming to terms w/ his crush on Finn (and Zorii’s like, *nudges* “OH-HO??~”), but Finn’s still a bit broken up over how everything w/ the stormtroopers turned out in TLJ, so he’s been difficult to connect to. then when Finn meets the former stormtroopers, he gains back some of that confidence in connecting to others, and he finally *sees* Poe for the first time in a while and it’s all romantic and junk heheh

tbh I don’t actually feel particularly strongly abt finnpoe as a pairing, BUT I rly like the potential it has for Finn and Poe’s respective character arcs, and especially how it could so lovingly tie into TROS’ theme of, “we are only as strong as we are together, and together we can beat this.” unfortunately, that theme in and of itself is also kinda awkward coming on the heels of TLJ, where the Resistance was abandoned by the galaxy when there was only a small fleet of FO forces to deal with, yet the galaxy comes to aid when there’s a fuckin billion FO ships w/ PLANET-DESTROYING TECH on-board each?? I know the 2nd movie’s supposed to be a low point, but the huge turn-around in TROS just doesn’t make a whole lotta sense to me, and I don’t know how to fix that one lmao

Rose is.... a difficult one. I rly want to like her b/c I love Kelly and she has cute moments, but TLJ already didn’t give her a lot to work with, and she had insultingly little to do in TROS. I think that perhaps she’d work well as Poe’s thematic foil in TLJ? Rose’s sister was one of the ones sacrificed under Poe’s direction, so she prolly wouldn’t be too pleased w/ that, and would bring up counterpoints to Poe’s risky maneuvers w/ the Resistance whenever they check in w/ him. then when Poe goes to rescue Finn from the canon, Rose’s words are what play thru his head. for TROS, I’d gladly replace C3PO or Chewie (or both) w/ her, lmao. I can’t necessarily think of an arc for her, but TROS was already juggling so many anyways, I think it would’ve been fine for her to maybe be a lynch-pin for the squad-- someone trying to hold everyone together through these dire circumstances, but everything starts to fall apart... until some significant moment where she helps pull everyone back together, thus completing the theme of the film. also I would’ve felt FAR more distressed if it was Rose that was supposedly on the destroyed transport ship (tho that scene was already kinda stupid like... why couldn’t Rey sense that Chewie wasn’t on there... hm..)

the Hux betrayal was obvious even from as far back as TFA, but it was weird he was replaced by a nobody we never met before and don’t care abt lmfao. I mean I don’t rly care for Hux at all, but I care even less for this stranger who has no personality lmfao

I’m thinking about W and OOO a lot lately (writing fics rewatching some parts etc) and I like OOO as a series more. Still I wanted to know why so I made this VS battle for my own amusement:

MAIN RIDER: Battle between Eiji And Shotaro: Its hard one, both are interesting, have good plot twists, their characterization so nicely made and they both likable. Yet it is Shotaro win here: so relatable, and his range of emotions is great to! The Thing is Eiji was made to be”dried up” and thats the reason why his mental and emotional behave is like it is. First round winner : W THE ONE NEAR MAIN RIDER (LOL): So now it is Ankh and Philip: This one is bit easier. Ankh has way more screen time and is it written so much better. They do have some similarities: both are mind power of the dynamic duo, have some issues with the previous families, crazy hair style and have doubts about their Rider ( or other half) intelligence. The thing is Eiji takes almost no shit form Ankh when he cross the line too much. The Birb man has to pay for his mistakes and sometime the price is huge. Philip on the other hand has his tragic background but his mistakes are sugarcoated by his partner and not addressed at all. Because of that with more modest screen time his character is not as fleshed out as it could be. Mor rant on Ankh below hehehe Second round winner: OOO FEMALE CAST: In OOO we have: Hina, Chiyako and Satonaka, while W give us: Akiko, Wakana and Saeko. I like Hina I really do, but they didn't use her gimmick as good as they could. She should have throw more barrels or something! Also bit too passive sometimes? Chiyako is spot of supporting chara, funny warm energetic. Yes, good. Satonaka has her good points too: taking no shit from anyone and treating her work as well, work and not some life mission. But then we go to W side and oh boy, Akiko, my love! She is just the best Rider lady I even saw! Funny, dorky, has more to do, has the slipper, is actually useful even if not have special powers. Well thats debatable too, that wand made from slippers did work lool. But yes even if she is mostly comic relief, because of her Xtreeme was possible! Also She found that devil's tail. And got that name in her dream. She has guts has flaws also but really. I love her to bits. Wakana is interesting too: spoiled princess who suddenly has responsibilities. And Saeko: the dark lady with twisted desires, helping her hated sister in the end. Undoubtedly this round has one Queen:

Third round winner: W SECONDARY RIDER Terui Ryu vs Date Akira and Gotou Shintaro. Well its two vs one and it shows. Terui has that tragic background, and his bitterness fades away so he could be true city defender. Yet for me it was done bit clunky. There could be put more emotions and struggle into it. He looks cool in the red leather tho. Also he and Akiko are cute together. On the other hand Date and Gotou dynamic is so pure. Also Date is hilarious as hell! Both him and Ryu use Rider suit for other purpose than defend others at the beginning ( well money and revenge), but Date is somehow nicer since the beginning. And Gotous is cute guy who has his own little expansion ark. So yes, sorry red boy, those housbandos win this one. Fourth round winner: OOO VILLAINS On one side we have Sonozaki's and X foundation, On the other well Greeeds. It looks like one side have more villain types so it would win but... Sonozaki family makes Gaia Memories to make super humans and then let only them to live on this planet because some Earth tears or something. Experiments, no one knows who will live. Ryubee is just laughing old man wit terror, his older daughter is psycho maniac with bad taste for men, younger one is spoiled and doesn't know whats going on at all. It works somehow but not as smooth at it should. Some things are not explained enough some are over explained. And then suddenly some X foundation. Bit messy. For OOO we have Greeeds : incomplete beings who want to be complete but it is impossible so they will destroy everything to try it anyway lool. They have different approach to it and later have Dr Maki as weird hybridish psycho who wanted to end the world while is still beautiful. Sounds as messy as W but it is so much better. It is more consistent, we see the twists and dynamics between Greeeds, and the m Maki. I don't like him as a chara but he is made that way to don't like him: sociopath who killed his sister while still a kid, but have issues with her, creep who talks to a doll on his shoulder. He is both comic relief and terrifying at the same time! What a wonderful blend! Also his and Date dynamics are so hilarious I just couldn't stop laughing. Psychodelic af XDXD So because he is consistent in his doing, is a creep is funny dangerous and interesting even if you want to kick him in the balls. Fifth round winner: OOO PLOT Both have interesting stories, not too complicated on the surface, with some twists, with some plot holes and mistakes. OOO has however less of the plot holes ( most of them are from the past stuff like from 800 years ago), the story is more fluent, so fluent that it is hard to see chara development without going 10 episodes behind for a moment and the realization hits you), also there are none “new villain at the end!” no, we know who will be the ultimate baddie and want to know how it goes. One of the main twists was Lost Ankh. It was interesting and heart breaking. In W main plot is Philip past, his connection to the Gaia Memories and Sonosakis. Plot twist can be predicted quite early but it is still fun. But because of little screen time for Philip and his actual development some moments feel weaker or bit rushed. Yet Shotaro reaction to those are top notch!Still, Eiji and Ankh dynamic story flow etc is just better in OOO for me. Sixth round winner: OOO OPENING Music is important too and opening is the most characteristic piece of audio for most series. Here you can be biased and I will be. W is more pleasant to the ear, I like the video for it more too. And I mean both what you see in the series and official one. The vocal is more clean in W opening for me too. What to say more? Seventh round winner: W FAVORITE CHARACTER A war between half-boiled and angry birb. I love them both character wise. Are complicated have their flaws as good sides fleshed out, are interesting... but the birb... ah the birb! His story ark! His struggle, his ambiguous state towards other up until the end. His mannerism (his bird like movements and way he eats lool, he drinks tea with soup spoon! XD), way of thinking and all the changes. They way he goes from treating Eiji as and accessory to fight to having him precious enough to help him fight Maki at costs own existence/life. And he is so relatable. Not for literal stuff ( I don't think any of you is greeed) but in general: the feeling of not fitting into a group etc. Shotaro is very relatable to don't get me wrong, but his character development is not as deep as Ankh. Both have great clothes yes! Eight round winner: OOO

SUIT AND MERCH ASCETICS As for looks of suits of the Riders and gimmicks it will be short: I like standard double more over TaToBa OOO, but I don't like Extreeme much but I love TaJaDor. Bike looks better in the W animal robots are cute here and here too. Second rider suit is good enough, but henshin gimmick is more interesting in OOO (the medals and mixing them) So a draw! ENDING

OOO doesn't have that 49th episode and it shows. But with that we have 2 very different vibes endings and both are so good. OOO is bittersweet but gives hope, W I just... god I'm so happy for Shotaro, this soft man deserved the ending. And somehow Eiji deserved his too: you should talk to your birb more Eiji! And shipping aside W should have proper hug and not that weird thing at the end. Both give satisfaction both are great and not disappoint! Another draw!! BONUS ROUND: BACKGROUND STORIES I could write about all support cast etc but those are equals and we don't need another draw. So I'll will do one more thing as a bonus: background of the charas. Especially our main Riders. In W we know a lot about Philip and what he did in the past yet some thing are presented in chaotic way, we are not sure about important things ( like if his family was dysfunctional before or after Philip's accident), but about Shotaro? Almost nothing. Just that he was bit deliquentish in high school (we are not even sure if it wasn't middle school lool) and that he was with boss some time before Begins Night. And thats sad because Shotaro is developed in interesting way and his past should be show more to understand better why he was like that. On the other hand we know what we should about Eiji, what made him as he was, why he is living this way. It wasn't long exposition but good enough to understand his ways. For Ankh its bit more messy (because what we hear and what we see on the screen doesn't add up well) but still it is all understandable. Winner of eleventh round : OOO So in all OOO won but not by that much. W is still very good series and both deserve to be watched (and then cried over, and made 1245643 chapters and one shots and drawings to them GAH)

10 GIFs of Anime that You Love, Then Tag 10 People

Just got tagged by @chemicalflashes.

Durarara

One of the first few anime I watched. I adored how the intricate stories were intertwined with others; how a bystander in one scene could be a hero or a villain in another. A choice that one makes can easily have devestaring consequences. And of course, the mastermind himself: Orihara Izaya.

Death Note

Oldie, yes. Overrated, probably. Completely worth watching and still able to discuss a decade after completion? Along with a few movies, musical adaptations, and a live action remake? Oh, yes!

Favorite characters are Near and Misa. The former for his cool nature that resembles L’s, but ultimately serves as a better allegory for Justice because he doesn’t find Kira for fun. No, he captures and probably would have him imprisoned for life because it’s his duty as L’s successor. He’s also heavily under-appreciated by the fandom. The latter for her adaptability and unpredictability in situations. Did you guys watch the Yorsuba arc? The girl was calculating how cute she was going to be. Plus, she’s not mentally well (her parents were murdered in front of her), but she still managed to handle herself SO WELL during her time as a prisoner under L’s inhuman methods to seek out the Second Kira. Again, she’s under-appreciated.

Death Parade

Brilliant idea. Has a possible tie in to Death Note. The opening was laughably so misleading!

There are some flaws, like plot holes and unfinished storylines, but it held up pretty well. We learned about the characters through how they interact with one another—especially when put under pressure. The Arbiters are amazing in that they can’t question the system, and yet, in the end, Decim tries to understand and formulate how Chiyuki is going to be finally put to rest.

If nothing else, just watch for the skating scene and the opening sequence.

Cells at Work (Hataraku Saibou)

How could I not add this show??? I’m not that great science, but I have been intimately acquainted with how the body works (I’m frankly disappointed no one has called 1146 a granulocyte yet and we haven’t seen any neurons in the manga 😞). Also...3803 is basically me: I’m terrible at directions, I’m continuously learning new things because I moved away, and the way she met 1146...is kind of how I met my best friend, hehehe.

That said, I’m really in love with this anime/manga fandom and hope to continue writing for it. (Insert self promotion: please read my fanfics on my main platform which is ffnet!)

Hetalia: Axis Powers

This show made me love geography and my country so much. It’s funny, it’s hilarious, and it’s so heartwarming how the fandom likes to make all sorts of fanmade stuff to expand on what Hima-papa gives us. (YES, IN THE YEAR OF OUR LORD 2018, I SHALL REFER TO HIMARYU-SENSEI AS HIMA-PAPA. FIGHT ME.)

Is Hetalia dead? I don’t know, but the fandom and one particular FanFiction by @cultureandseptember really helped me out a few years back.

Bungou Stray Dogs

I love literature, good looking animation, and smarmy little know-it-alls who like to play the fool. Hehehe, I’m planning on reading No Longer Human when I get the time. Does that mean Osamu Dazai is my favorite character? Well...

Can you blame me if I said yes? He’s so charming and enigmatic that you can’t help but love him. However, I think I really love him because I struggle with dark thoughts and suicidal ideation from time to time. I haven’t actively sought it out quite like he has in the past, but well... hehehe! I can also relate because he’s kind of like an outsider in the Agency due to his past—he’s different because he can’t actively cancel out your abilities, which always makes him a threat.

Anywhoozles, I’m still waiting to see the movie...Le sigh.

K Project

This. This is not the best anime out there. Seriously.

The animation gets wonky here and there, they do the women in here a huge disservice, and they put too much emphasis on how great Mikoto Suoh. Like, he’s great and all, but the dude has no effect on the story except for the last season.

With that said, I think the main selling point here isn’t the anime, but the side materials like the manga/novels. You get to appreciate the backstories of so many of the characters and you get to feel for them because some of them have suffered so much! (Read: Fushimi Saruhiko).

I think you can get the same amount of enjoyment if you stick to the novels/manga.

Favorite characters: Scepter 4 Alphabet Squad. They are the best boys. Also, Lieutenant Awashima Seri. And Fushimi Saruhiko. You know what? Just put down Blue Clan here. They’re all nerds and they enjoy it.

Also: Domyoiji Andy reminds me of U-4989 from CAW. So...

Violet Evergarden

Remember how I said that I liked literature? This entire anime is about the power of not only the written word, but of also the act of writing, sending, and receiving those words. The anime may be episodic in nature, but you can really connect with the character through her terrible backstory and really feel for her when she realizes that she needs to face her past. PTSD is real and I think the anime really handled the post war aspect of this torn down world really well.

I’m also a sucker for typewriters, steam punk, and characters that don’t really know how to function in society (but learn over the course of the story).

Watch this if you want feels...and get ready for episode ten.

Samurai Champloo

This takes place in feudal era Japan.

But there’s rapping.

And breakdancing.

And guys spraying paint everywhere.

Also, there’s a sunflower samurai we gotta look for???

Hahahah, while episodic in nature, this was a joy to watch. You never get to know the characters really well and when we reach our mission’s end, it seems to fall short, but it’s not about that. The journey is what makes this anime worth it simply because the characters interactions are rife with hilarity and all three mains balance each other out. There’s a fanfic out there that describes them in detail, but in a succinct manner that had me melting. Anyway, for those of you who have watched it, I sincerely hope that they meet again in the future.

Guys.

This isn’t a joke.

I have a soft spot for this anime because this was my first ever anime I watched where I realized that this was anime. This was like my gateway anime. Not Sailor Moon. Not Naruto.

This.

Looking back on this, it wasn’t the best—it’s your typical monster of the week deal with some environmental activism involved but for what it’s worth...it’s good??? Like, even the 4Kids dub (DONT CRUCIFY ME) even added some songs that were really great??? Bree Sharp’s Don’t Wake Me Up was my jam??? It fit better than the original Japanese counterpart???

TMM also introduced me to shipping, FanFiction, and amvs. That’s right, without this little gem, I would be writing/writing/thinking about FanFiction. I probably wouldn’t have been an anime watcher without this magical girl anime from the early 2000s.

So, yeah. This anime will always have a place in my heart because without it, I probably wouldn’t have become the person I am today. Thank you, Tokyo Mew Mew.

(This was also the birth of my first OTP before I knew what OTPs were: Kisshu/Ichigo...although nowadays, people are calling them Quiche/Strawberry? The Enchantress #89

A bit of a minor story (Edit: Never mind, it turned out long. I keep doing this to myself!) in between big works. These are the same amazons from #32. I like to believe that the amazons weren’t bad people and really didn’t understand how the Enchantress had screwed them and the hero over at the time. They’re pals now.

They walk into a stone and wood building that serves as the village infirmary. They walk to a sealed off door, which the medicine woman unlocks. They both enter the room.

It’s a windowless room kept aglow with glowing fungi. There is a bed. Upon that bed is a young amazonian woman who couldn’t be much more than twenty years of age. She sits up as they enter the room and smiles, her eyes barely open.

Hero: Who is this?

Amazon MW: Two reasons, hero. One, there is a rule among us that heirs to the throne may not be touched by any fellow amazons aside from us medicine women.

Hero: Hmm. That’s not as uncommon a rule as you’d think. I know many countries and kingdoms who have even stricter laws pertaining to how royalty is treated.

Amazon MW: The second is that Fire Heir has been the target of several assassinations since she’s been ill. It would work too, as much of the village believes the illness as deadlier than it is.

[I wrote this meaning for it to be a short just because I wanted to revisit the Amazons from #32. It turned into this. Whoops. ]

The hero stood in the palace gardens, approaching the wall corner. This was how they always met: speaking from their side of a corner, facing the other way. Never touching. Safe.

He heard the princess on the other side.

Hero: Hey.

Princess: It’s been a while.

Hero: What have you been up to?

Princess: Trying to get my father to grant me more time in the library. And snooping in on conversations about politics and wars, that kind of stuff. Haven’t found out anything useful though. How about you?

Hero: I’ve been in the amazon kingdom. They needed me to help them save one of their heirs.

Princess: I see.

Hero: Um… I also slept with their heir. It wasn’t anything deep. Sex and nothing more.

Princess: Heh. I don’t mind. I fantasize about sleeping with tons of guys when you’re away. Married kings, handsome incubi, Chris Hensworth…

Hero: Damn it, I never should have shown you those Earth Magazines!

Princess: I’m trying to say, it’s alright. Besides. We’re not technically… together.

Hero: But we’re still friends, right?

Princess: Forever. But…

The hero waited. He heard her sigh. The words of Fire Heir rang in his ears. “I think you two should still touch…”

Princess: It’s just… I’m starting to really hate this wall between us.

Hero: It’s… it’s so if we get caught, you can say you didn’t see me.

Princess: Maybe I should get it taken down. Then what would you do?

Hero: Princess, please.

Princess: I’m just joking. I know… being around me… makes you uncomfortable. And this wall helps ease the pain of not getting to be with each other. I don’t mind. Shall we get to work?

Hero: … Okay.

They planned out the hero’s next adventure. Ideas on where the hero should go, what he should do, which rebellions he should help with and which he should squash. All the while the urge to reach out and grab the princess’s hand grew and grew, but for all of his bravery, the hero was cursed with cowardice in this one regard.

Princess: …and that should be all.

Hero: I suppose…

Princess: I… I guess you should go.

Hero: Y-yeah…

He wanted it so badly. Just reach out… Just touch the princess…

Hero: …

Princess: …

Hero: Goodbye.

Princess: Bye.

The hero heard the princess walk away.

…

Hero: Princess.

Princess: Yes, hero-?!

The hero took the princess into a deep, tight, fierce hug, which she returned with equal enthusiasm.

its apparently Luke day so fuckin’ yeet, here we go.

1) What was the first element of your OC that you remember considering (name, appearance, backstory, etc.)?

I wanted a hot white-haired anime boy. That’s all. Really. He just turned into a huge dumpster fire after figuring out his appearance.

The concept of Luke was around for a while - at first he was a redhead, and so was Greg, to be honest. But I wanted to stray away from my uhhh Luke fon Fabre and Ganondorf inspirations lmfao.

2) Did you design them with any other characters/OCs from their universe in mind?

Not really, actually. What I wanted from his appearance actually generated more facts and backstory about him, so it worked out fine that way lol. I mean, I was hoping he could turn into a romantic interest for Addie, but I was fine with letting him develop however, too.

3) How did you choose their name?

Luke is a good name. I get most of my character names from other forms of media, lol oops. Sorry Luke and Anise ahahaha;;;;;

4) In developing their backstory, what elements of the world they live in played the most influential parts?

Uh, the fact that he’s a prince, I guess? There’s some plot-related stuff concerning his backstory I don’t want to spoil, but otherwise I really do want to take the time in ttot to go into what the world looks like, so that’s why his earliest memory is a bunch of scenery imagery.

5) Is there any significance behind their hair color?

yes but that’s plot and backstory related ahahahahahaha

6) Is there any significance behind their eye color?

also plot significant. His eye colour is purple, for anyone who’s interested. wink wonk

7) Is there any significance behind their height?

not really. I imagine him to be about 5′7″ on a good day, which I guess is considered short-ish for dudes? I guess most of my characters are a lil on the short side. But I’m short. So suffer. muahahahahahaha

8) What (if anything) do you relate to within their character/story?

I relate to his clumsiness for sure. owo

9) Are they based off of you, in some way?

He may have some borrowed traits from me, but most of that is surface level I guess haha.

10) Did you know what the OC’s sexuality would be at the time of their creation?

Nope! I was thinking he was gonna be straight, since well, no one was really straight. But then I looked at him, and was answering character asks, and it turns out he’s bi as fuck. So there’s that, I guess.

11) What have you found to be most difficult about creating art for your OC (any form of art: writing, drawing, edits, etc.)?

The fact that a lot of my characters would do really well in a JRPG or anime leaves little wiggle room when it comes to creating moodboards and the like. I also can’t draw people to save my life, so nailing down exactly how they look isn’t ever gonna happen lmfao. someone teach me how to draw people pls

12) How far past the canon events that take place in their world have you extended their story, if at all?

not at all! :’D I still have a lot to plan out for ttot, concerning actually plot timelines and events. I do know that I want him to go down a Zuko-esque route, and go from anti-hero to joining the party and being a cutie pie readers thirst over ahaha.

13) If you had to narrow it down to 2 things that you MUST keep in mind while working with your OC, what would those things be?

1. he’s a lost soul and needs to find himself, so he’s gonna fuck up a lot

2. he also just wants some genuine companionship and affection, so he should try to better himself so he can obtain those things

14) What is something about your OC that can make you laugh?

he’s gonna have a lot of comedic relief scenes if I have anything to say about it. He tries to take himself so seriously, but its also super half-assed because of what he’s going through, so he tends to overreact and get thrown over cliff sides a lot.

15) What is something about your OC that can make you cry?

If I can spin his backstory properly, and play a lot on the whole being a disappointment to your parents and never being able to do anything right spiel, I’ll prolly cry a bit cause that’s relatable as fuck.

16) Is there some element you regret adding to your OC or their story?

Mmm nothing yet. I quite enjoy making fun of my OCs and they dumb shit I can get them into, so nothing has really stood out negatively yet.

17) What is the most recent thing you’ve discovered about your OC?

Some minor origin story and influences to how he is, hehehe. >:3c

18) What is your favorite fact about your OC?

The fact that he’s like, this huge heartthrob, and could technically be a playboy if he wanted to, but his heart is too soft and he’s a huge klutz so he can’t really pull it off haha.

Some Tarot stuff x Servamp thoughts

So I was thinking of the Tarot cards recently (I blame you @spritesoulmist) and I couldn’t help but remember some Servamp related stuff (courtesy of Neverland boi’s recent birthday cuz it was eveRYWHERE- //cough). More specifically on the C3 arc.

If we look back at the chapters we can see some Major Arcana cards as their titles: namely

ch.41: The Magician ch.47: The Tower ch.50: The Hanged Man ch.52: The Chariot ch.59: Strength

Now we know how much symbolism and thought Tanaka-sensei puts in the whole plot now yeah? Things, words, events, and characters can be premonitions for something to come soon…

//cough… Anyways, here’s the stuff we came up with. Take note I’m not an expert on Tarot readings and meanings, so these are things I checked up on my book. Also these are just tiny speculations and meanings I thought of so don’t take ‘em seriously =v=)

Also, hear this out. Tarot card readings, depending on which kind of reading you are doing, would have two meanings to it—The upright meaning of the cards and… of course… the reversed meaning. I’m gonna put both interpretations in relation with the events happening in the manga, but the reversed interpretations may not be accurate, sooooo… yeahhhhp

The Magician

UPRIGHT:

This chapter doesn’t particularly zoom in on one character (as compared to The Hanged Man as Tsurugi and The Chariot as Junichirou; sadly it doesn’t have much for Yumikage for it) and focuses on the three magicians, or C3, as a whole. The Magician Tarot card talks about, of course, magic– illusions. It serves as the bridge between the spirits and the humans, and as C3 in Servamp’s case: the vampires and the humans. It also represents, in summary: solutions, aspiration, and capabilities– probably as a reference to C3′s organization as a whole.

REVERSED:

Magic used wrongly. Abilities used to gain a negative end for personal satisfaction or plots. This may be an indication of the plan Touma has “ever since Tsubaki escaped”. It can also mean being out of touch with reality (and being more in the world of magic?), which could also an indication of Tsurugi’s condition that made him “not hear the alarm”.

The Tower

UPRIGHT:

Tbh, this is the reason why I’m making this post. The Tower Tarot card signifies ambitions that leads to a disastrous ending or a sudden destructive change. wqjiodnasdpansddq– If we think of Servamp… well… nwjqlebnsaodasd okay, with those two meanings in mind, let’s look at the events in the chapters. The sudden destructive change we can point out here is the fact that the rising levels of Jin in their area is making vampires more indestructible and would most likely cause that “world of nothing but night”. Aside from that, there’s also Tsurugi’s case, which was finally revealed because of the Servamps residing in the headquarters and causing the stir in his memories. Theeeen the whole subclass breakout thing too. Fast forward to ch.54 “Climbing the Tower” and we get to see Tsurugi and Mahiru climbing the tower. I sure do fcking hope it doesn’t go as how these meanings are, because there, we see Mahiru wanting to save Tsurugi and The Tower tarot card talks about the fall of an ambition that was too high or more than one can chew…. //cough. Only chapters will tell us now…

REVERSED:

Destruction can bring about regeneration. This is all about delayed destruction, whether by fear of change, or by other physical factors. In this chapter, Touma talks about some stabilizing medication because he deemed Tsurugi unwell. What this medication is, we’re not yet sure, but it is something that “delays” Tsurugi’s total uh… breakdown?... so Touma can still use him.

The Hanged Man

UPRIGHT:

The Hanged Man’s depiction is not one who was sent to be hung because of his wrongdoings- in fact, he is hanging there on his own will. There are two cases for this—surrender and sacrifice. As a personal sacrifice. (//cue 10 headcanons exploding in my mind rn), it can either be a person doing the personal sacrifice, even if it is unrewarded, or an event that requires the personal sacrifice. In the case for this chapter, first off we have Mahiru asking Tsurugi if the reason they (the humans) were able to live peacefully all this time was because C3 has been fighting for them the whole time (and note, without most humans’ knowledge). Tsurugi then mentions something about “dying for world peace” then afterwards saying “just joking”. Then he presents how he is viewed by the two opposing sides of the vampires and humans- seen as an enemy to be killed and a hero who kills to protects, respectively. He knows what he is to them, and because of that, resigns-- surrenders – himself to that fate. And for humans, that can be seen as a personal sacrifice for the better good. Buuuuut then again, this card also symbolizes surrender in the “letting go” manner in order to achieve a better end result. Also there’s this example here of suspended action— decisions that weren’t immediately made even when the situation is already dire (//cue the “alarm”; //cue Jun’s wife--- //KICKED).

It was also in this chapter that we see a panel where “The Fool” was put below Mahiru, and where Tsurugi mentioned “You can still go anywhere afterall,”. This is referencing to The Fool’s tarot card of not being in sequence with the Major Arcana cards. The Fool is a free spirit- not bound by the numbers- and has unlimited potential. The Major Arcana is often seen as The Fool’s journey through life—making him the protagonist. A.k.a. Mahiru still has a lot more to do from ch.64 onwards fckYEAH---

REVERSED:

A standstill in time and decision. In regards to Tsurugi’s character (which I have very little grasp of at the moment so dear Tsurugi peeps forgive me), it is the inability to move forward from his current situation. This is the part of him that “wasn’t able to grow up”.

The Chariot

UPRIGHT:

The Chariot Tarot card here focused more on Junichirou as a character—Meaning that this card stands for control— being the most rational one in the group AND also the attitude to take the matters into your own hands, which can be seen through his personality and actions in trying to save Tsurugi (despite Yumikage’s protests). It stands for determination and will power- despite him not being a better combatant compared to Tsurugi during their fight, he still did what he can. Discipline could also be seen in the way he uses Mjolnir…. Although… this card also signifies victory. Will Jun still have a part to play after all that happened? ;;

REVERSED:

Losing control of personal life. Junichirou’s loss for his wife and seeing his best friend apologize gravely for what happened… really took a toll on him that made him on leave for a year. This was his time of thinking things over, taking the reins on how he wants things to be from then on- and that means fighting for the ones he has now.

Strength

UPRIGHT:

I’m not sure if this is considered to be part of the Tarot cards speculation, but Strength is indeed one of the Major Arcanas. As opposed to the usual idea of brute force, the Strength card, and the symbolism portrayed here is inner strength—composure, resolve, courage, character, and reliability. Kuro’s said it well enough for us to understand the fact that he’s acknowledged Mahiru’s growth! It is also a sign of taking on things without the use of unnecessary violence- through intellect it may. Which, in this chapter’s case, is also leaning a bit to Mikuni’s ways of doing things. The elaborate plan he’s coming up is not him getting into the fray, but getting all the pieces together until he makes the final move (or so).

Oh, oh, fun fact about this too. The card of Strength is portrayed by a woman calmly holding on to the jaws of a lion. She didn’t keep them close by force- she earned the lion’s trust for her to be able to touch him, and in turn, the lion is soothed by her presence and doesn’t attack. Very befitting for the bond of the Sloth pair ne~? x3

REVERSED:

Doubt. Seriously, the reverse of the courage shown here is doubt. I don’t know what else to say besides Doubt Doubt //kicked.

//cough. So there you have it: Things that may or may not symbolize something in the future. What I’m waiting for is one or two more Tarot card reference. Tarot cards have different spreads that can connect each card with each other, leading to a conclusion. We already have five references as of now… six would make it into LT’s 6 card spread, and seven would make the Horseshoe tarot spread. Although there are other spreads, these two are kinda more popular. But anyways, I’m betting on two more of these. one for Yumikage, and one for the resolution.

Yumikage may have The Moon tarot (from his name Tsukimitsu, “Moon shine”?). This card is something akin to uncertainty, fear and vagueness. He wants to protect things his own way but “nobody ever listens to what he says” (ch.49). He longs for a proper action, even with uncertainty, to the point of frustration. But even then, the moon still guides him in the world of nighttime they have immersed themselves into. This can signify clarity and awakening too. Yumikage ganbatte!!!!

And for the resolution, the Judgement card I guess. It’s the final outcome, welcomed or not. //prays for happy ending for everyone ;;

Ohghods that was way too long. If you made it this far with my ramblings, I congratulate you! xD. I’m gonna stick to waiting for more ideas here and there so hehehe... Only the chapters will tell~
