THE DARK’S TREASURED GLOW - WIP Introduction
—> GENRE: YA Science Fiction —> POV: Third person limited (I’m not set on this yet, though~) —> STATUS: Vague idea stages; outlining —> SETTING: An alien world initially believed to be uninhabited due to the permanent cloud layer preventing any light from reaching the planet’s surface. A human community was built to float above the clouds, powered through a plant integrated technology dependent on solar energy. Although unique flora and fauna have been discovered adapted to the darkness beneath, and some have been domesticated to aid the humans, the lands below are thought to be barren, with human influence said to be inconsequential to any possible ecosystem development. —> FEATURES: LGBTQ+ and diverse cast; non-binary main character; FLUFFY MOTH DRAGONS and other cool alien things; photosynthetic technology; flora/fauna adaptation; mind control; perpetual darkness; found family; government corruption; reliance on light; environmental destruction and conservation; alien world colonization; exploration.
And this? This is what happens when you decide you’re going to write a book about environmental science and the issues in a human’s interaction with the natural world. On another world.
This wip is in it’s very initial stages of planning, but here’s some of what I have now:
The main character is a teenage enby who trained alongside their brother to be in a tactical explorer program: those who are chosen of the completed achieve the honour of exploring the lands below the clouds, and searching for mineral deposits and other important resources.
They lost their sight partway through their training, disqualifying them from the program.
Their brother went missing on his first mission. In fact, his entire team did.
Fast forward a few years, they’re now working in their friend’s company as a mechanic.
They get into trouble a lot, though, and on one of their escapes, they end up accidentally deactivating the headset on a dragon used to transport supplies.
Turns out this headset was actually being used to basically mind control these basically sapient creatures.
New friend! Oh wait, it’s trying to kill them. Nevermind.
Anddddd now both of them have fallen below the clouds. And it seems it’s not quite as barren as the government wanted you to think…
Anyways, I’m unlikely to be sharing any actual writing any time soon aside from concepts and possibly some sketches, but if you’d like to be added to the taglist, let me know!

how to make your [fictional] world believable
Quite an ironic title oof, but lately a lot of my asks on here and Wattpad were questions regarding worldbuilding and how I do them. I’m grateful for every single one of them! But I’m not 100 percent certified person to give out advice, I just thought it will be cool to expand on this ask.
I also want to point out that this guide/advice can be also used in any genres (historical, contemporary, etc), fictional or real-world. Please note that this is based on my thoughts and ideas and so forth! And also this isn’t a full guide on how to get started on worldbuilding, but rather how to incorporate literacy devices and style to flesh out your world.
So you made a world or in the process of making one, and now what? Well this post will help you polish it up. I will be using ‘These Hungry Dogs’ as an example.
Here are the 4 main breakdowns:
→  1. Sensory details
This is important to remember and should always be the first rule to keep in the back of your mind.
A lot of times, people tend to get overboard with writing the government structure, types of religion, food, clothing, etc, that they forgot to put an emphasis on the five senses: sight, touch, sound, smell, and taste. Although having detailed structure or notes on what kind of government or cultural aspect is important, this have to come later. Keep it in the back of your mind.
An example of how to utilize the senses would be this:
“ The Scheisygh was an unusual place. Upon reaching onto the spine of the thin, barred land stretched before him, [he] borrowed the same fragile morning air the terrain threw itself over the vast chasm. Even further, he saw the jagged teeth from the trenches embedded itself into the mountains. Dust and smoke spiraled into the air, a sign of life as the Myrgenvai camp rest just underneath the valley - hidden from prying eyes. ”
The bolded indicates the sensory details and both sight and scent are used.
By using these two sensory details, we have some idea on the geographical formation (mountainous region) from a character’s point of view and so on. We can also see how the character spots the camp, forming a distance in mind. I always try to put an effort in writing sensory details into the world.

TTOT ~ Pinterest Page | Spotify Playlist | Character Tag
basics 19 | female | human | pan/ace | 5′2″ | student at Blackwood Academy
appearance tawny, light-brown skin; long, soft brown, wavy hair; light blue eyes; short and curvy. Generally wears oversized sweaters and shorts because she can.
personality her one true love is bread, though sleep comes to a close second. Some would call her lazy; she calls herself a woman with few commitments. Though she would prefer to be huddled under three blankets on her king sized bed back at home, she tries to make an effort for her friends. Indulging in the finer things in life is her favourite pastime, though one-upping Steven when it comes to their studies also brings a smile to her face.
hobbies reading, sleeping, (secretly practising) magic, daydreaming, doing crosswords and other word puzzles
about Anise comes from a noble family from Lantern City. By all means, she is a rich kid. Everything, since the day she was born, has been handed to her on a silver platter (even her friendship with Steven, let’s be real). Though she’s self indulgent, she does care about what few friend she has.
It was just before attending Blackwood Academy that she stumbled upon Rayne, who refers to herself as a daemon. Rayne wanted oranges peeled, and Anise was the best person for the job. The daemon has followed Anise around ever since, though Anise normally keeps her locked up in her dorm room to avoid questioning gazes.
On off days that don’t involve sleeping until noon, Anise is normally dragged out of the house by Blair and Steven to the local cafe, where they indulge in pastries, iced coffee and gossip.
ttot + extra Anise was the original ttot protagonist. Due to her being extremely static, though, that position was handed off to Adelaide. She’s still an endearing character (to me at least lol), though. I’m hoping ttot will shape her, or move her forward as a character, or at least make her do something out of the goodness of her heart and not for her own desires, haha.
(main) relationships Steven Gray - best friend, grew up together
Blair Alexander - best friend, met at Blackwood
Rayne - familiar? won’t leave
Adelaide Fey - acquaintance who also won’t leave
Nataliya Sangster - big wlw crush
Aleister Maga - friend of varying degrees
Avery Rosewood - acquaintance and coffee buddy

basics 20 | female | human | ace | 5′3″ | not on Earth anymore
appearance olive skin tone; medium length strawberry blond hair; hazel eyes; short, average build. Cardigans and hoodies are her best friends.
personality Addie is a creative person - from memes, to art, to music, to the written word, those are the few things she would consider herself good at. Socialization, or being a proper human being? Not so much. She tries. She fakes it. She really does. But at the end of the day she still feels her face heat up and words waver when she stumbles over a sentence or says the wrong thing. Maybe that is being a proper person. She wouldn’t know. She just tries.
Even through her stumbling and overabundant curiosity, she tries to go out of her way to help people. Even the people others would look away from.
That doesn’t stop her from living out her chaotic neutral fantasies, however.
hobbies writing, painting, playing guitar, being a general nuisance to society, memes
about Addie is from Earth - not Ethilite - born and raised in the realms of Western Canada, where the grass is green and the air is thick with the stench of weed. She’s a second-year university student who gets by on art commissions and working at a cafe part-time, with few friends outside of those she knows online and the local stray cat population. That doesn’t deter her, however, since she feels perfectly fine with a mostly online preference.
She spends most of her down time daydreaming and playing video games, both ways for her to tap out of reality. Being thrown into Ethilite, however, proves that she has things to do outside of dreaming.
ttot + extra Adelaide is the reason why ttot turned into a huge JRPG and isekai inspired wip and honestly at this point I can’t go back, so I guess I’m just rolling with it until something works out. nervous chuckle
(main) relationships
Aleister Maga - friendly bird man
Anise Blue - cool bread girl, needs more empathy
Steven Gray - acquaintance, mom friend
Avery Rosewood - friend, definitely bonded over tarot and crystals together
Luke Nox - friend, may or may not have some semblance of romantic feelings

🏰Hohenzollern Castle (German: Burg Hohenzollern) is the ancestral seat of the imperial House of Hohenzollern. The third of three hilltop castles on the site, it is located atop Mount Hohenzollern, above and south of Hechingen, on the edge of the Swabian Jura of central Baden-Württemberg, Germany.
The first fortress on the mountain was constructed in the early 11th century. Over the years the House of Hohenzollern split several times, but the castle remained in the Swabian branch, the dynastic seniors of the Franconian-Brandenburgian cadet branch that later acquired its own imperial throne. This castle was completely destroyed in 1423 after a ten-month siege by the free imperial cities of Swabia. A larger and sturdier structure was constructed from 1454 to 1461, which served as a refuge for the Catholic Swabian Hohenzollerns, including during the Thirty Years’ War. By the end of the 18th century it was thought to have lost its strategic importance and gradually fell into disrepair, leading to the demolition of several dilapidated buildings.
The final castle was built between 1846 and 1867 as a family memorial by Hohenzollern scion King Frederick William IV of Prussia. Architect Friedrich August Stüler based his design on English Gothic Revival architecture and the Châteaux of the Loire Valley. No member of the Hohenzollern family was in permanent or regular residence when it was completed, and none of the three German Emperors of the late 19th and early 20th century German Empire ever occupied the castle; in 1945 it briefly became the home of the former Crown Prince Wilhelm of Germany, son of the last Hohenzollern monarch, Kaiser Wilhelm II.
