Hey Chatte hope all is well! I saw your special Narusakra comic and your most recent post on IG showing off the Crown of the Sun for Sakura. Can’t wait to read & see how she gets there. I saw a lot of awesome pieces for NarSaukra day so I want to thank you and the rest of the community for keeping it alive.
I have been rereading Kaika and the chapters 11-13 so far are my favorite. I’m excited to how you are going to make the aliens/gods work and to be honest you have done a better than the canon. As for everyone’s favorite snake sanin I’m interested to how he ends in the plot. While personally I didn’t care for him be a “good” guy in canon in the present. He will always be a creature of habit and self serving. So I’m excited. Also a headcannon I thought of regarding him and Shina’s Gen. He would be interested Shina the most compared to the U twins probably feed up with Uchilas in general. Also given the fact that he probably shoot’s himself for overlooking Naruto and Sakura originally for the more polished product in Sauake. Shina also looking and sharing personality with Minmato would be funny because he would take as Minmato ghost coming back and trolling him. Best part is Shina would have no idea how much his presence would be triggering for him lol.
One last point it’s a little something I wanted to share with you. So I used to live in this suburb next to Newark NJ, USA and in Newark there is this section called Forest Hills. This neighborhood is famous for two reasons one is its old fashion mansions and Branch Brooke Park, which has over 5,000 Japanese cherry blossoms trees planted there. They have their own cherry blossoms festival and everything.
Hiii dear, welcome back again to my inbox!
Glad to hear you liked the NaruSaku special and Sakura's Crown of the Sun art.
To be honest, can't wait to get there myself. I have sooo many interesting ideas about how she gets it. Too many even, lol. I finally got to understand what other writers were meaning when they said you will get to discard some ideas at some point.
In the beginning I was like naa, I won't be doing that. But with time the ideas developed so much, that I see no other way than to drop a few from the beginning or better said, reform some of them to fit the new, updated idea lol.
Also thank you for your kind words. It is my pleasure, and many other artists, I'm sure, to keep the community alive.
After all, it's just pure love for them and that's it. We're free of the shackles of canon, so yay for us!
Now, to get back to Kaika.
First of all, thank you once again for your compliments! I'm so happy to see you liked what - at least - I'm trying to do there with the Otsutsukis.
I believe that the idea with them was not bad. It's the execution that's problematic, imo. That's why I tried to take a different route with them, while still referencing the canon element. I will be referencing a lot of elements from the OG franchise, because I do like the idea. I just don't like the execution.
As for Orochimaru well... We have a here saying in my country that says the wolf changes its fur, but not its habits.
What I can say is that, that's what I'll follow. Narratively as well.
Because like you said, deep down, he's a creature of habit. Habits are our second nature. That's why it's not that easy to change one self and you first gotta change your habits.
In OG it is shown to us that Oro didn't actually changed his habits at all, he is just being let loose. Which narratively makes so little sense?
You tell me that the man who basically put in motion everything that we've been witnessing along the path of Naruto manga, is just going to be left to do whatever he wants because... he's a necessary evil?
That's not how you act with the necessary evil. You don't let it loose and just barely keep him under supervision, imo.
If anything, he's a "joker" type of character. You never know when he's gonna pop off the box to scare ya away with some machiavellian ploy.
As for your headcanon of him and Shina, well, there is a common element in there that we have. I can't say that he's fed-up with the Uchihas (after all, Uchihas were his obsession), but...
I have a certain idea in mind about the path I have with him and him overlooking Naruto & Sakura's family, generally, because well, Sakura Haruno doesn't come from any prestigious clan that could benefit his pursuits, right?
And yet, surprise-surprise, the ones you least expect are the ones who get to bring the biggest turnarounds.
The thing is, I have two routes I want to take with him in terms of his eventual demise and I'm undecided on which side to go with, lol.
One involved him and Tsunade and was kinda dramatic, and the other one involves NaruSaku family, ironically. So I really don't know which way to go.
Because all this will be happening in Kaika Shinsei's timeline, which I am yet to settle.
I guess I'll see after I finish writing Saisei how things evolve until then, so that'll probably help me decide.
And WOOW, thank you so much for sharing that piece of info with me?! I ADORE cherry blossoms.
I grew-up with them and other types of blossoms, so for me, spring blossoms, especially cherry ones, are very special.
Actually the city where I moved has some parks filled with
I dream of travelling to Japan one day and live the original cherry blossoms season experience. But until then I enjoy the wanna-be one from here haha.
ANyway, thanks once again for the ask. Hope you have an amazing rest of your time today/tonight. <3

What do you think about the pairing SaiHina (said and hinata)? Do you think it could work?
You know, I think someone did mention this at some point and it had me surprised. Idk what to think.
I guess it could? Given they're both quite welll... quiet. Buuut that also might be what breaks the relationship so idk, lol.
It depends after all on if the author wants to make it work or not, lol. If the author wants to, it will, if not, it won't.

Happy NaruSaku Day & Happy Birthday to Hanami Uzumaki!!! 🍥🌸🥳
Quick Question about Hanami: What do you absolutely love about her? For me I don't know too much about her but I really love her design and she's really fun to draw. She's seems like a really fun character and I get such a really warm feeling whenever I look at her. My birthday is also within same month as Hanami's. Seven days away from hers really, which isn’t exactly close but it's close enough so I'm happy.
Comment on NaruSaku: I'm honestly really glad I gave NaruSaku a chance. I used to be a pro-NaruHina fan and didn't like when people said they liked NaruSaku better (very immature I know, still cringe at that til this day🤦‍♀️). Even when I was really disappointed in the ending, I still blindly defended NaruHina with my life. But over time I started to come to terms that NaruHina was not a good ship and joined the NaruSaku fandom out of genuine curiosity and because I was starting to notice details about them that got me interested. I started to fall out of love with NaruHina and leaned more to NaruSaku. I honestly had more fun with NaruSaku then I did with NaruHina because of the amount of symbolism they have together. I still like NaruHina but not as much as I used to. I've come to realize that I loved their potential as ship rather than what they are in canon. The potential was there but the execution was done very poorly. It's even worse when there was good potential in their kids but nothing was done with them but a bad story. But that's enough venting (sorry about that), I really love NaruSaku from their story, to their symbolism, and to their kids—ESPECIALLY their kids! My favorite detail about NaruSaku is that the Uzumaki-Haruno symbol looks like the rising sun flag and that they represent two of the most well known symbols of Japan! I also just really like how we're just finding so much hidden details about them that's most likely just a coincidence but who knows.
Anyway, Happy NaruSaku Day and I hope you enjoy yourself on this very special day!
Hi there!! Happy birthdaaaay to yooou!!!
Because if I'm understanding correctly, it's soon gonna be your birthday, right? :D Hope you're going to be having an amazing day.
ALSO HELL YEAH ARIES POWEEERRR! My birthday is a day after Sakura's, on the 29th of March haha.
I'm so happy that basically around my birthday I get to celebrate Sakura's birthday, NaruSaku's day, Hanami's birthday, Sakura's Brazilian VA's along with Junko-san's birthday is around the same time.
So really, HELLA MUCH POWER in this fam haha.
As for what I love about Hanami? Well, everything? How she's a mix of Naruto & Sakura's most inner mischievous selves and plays pranks. She's such a bubbly character, really. Full of life, like a full blown spring. After all, her name says it all.
I like that she's a very resourceful girl - she might not have her mother's & brother's patience to learn complicated techniques, but she is smart enough to work in her own way. Kinda like her dad, actually. Naruto was never the book smarts. He was more the "street smarts" and that served him so well in battle if we think about it.
In my interpretation of things, she's quick on her feet, so to speak. Both physically and mentally. That's why she doesn't have the patience to stay and study long boring texts about techniques, lol.
She's more of a "do you feel me" type of girl? As in very intuitive, just to be clear here.
So yeah, I basically love that she's a bubble of energy all around and everywhere she goes she just makes people bloom with her sweet & mischievous personality.
Also wow, you were a NH fan? What a surprise. Welcome to this side of the fandom, tho! We're happy to have you.
And hey, look, you don't have to feel bad for liking NH. It was a part of your life. Of your experience. You can like both if you ask me, lol.
Cuz for example while in canon I don't like how things worked out, in fanon tho? I could make countless scenarios where all the pairings work. That's the fun of fanon, hahaha.
So at the end of the day, feel free to enjoy both of them however YOU want because it's YOUR experience and no one else's.
I'm glad to see you've opened yourself to the NaruSaku experience. It's really awesome and as a former multishipper myself, I totally understand your predicament.
Once upon a time I was a NS/SS/NH multishipper. With time and different experiences I stayed NS only because as a symbolism enthusiast I just couldn't help but love their thematic symbolism and the little nuggets Kishimoto was dropping for these two.
Anyway, once again welcome to the NaruSaku fandom space! Hope you thoroughly enjoy your time here!
Also Happy NaruSaku day to you too!

I recently watched a Tik Tok from Sellsword Arts critiquing the swordplay of the Star Wars prequels, and he addressed some fan explanations for the things he pointed out by saying “If you have to invent head cannons to explain away a plot hole or inconsistency, it’s bad lore.”
I feel like this applies to the parallels of NaruSaku and how others will do mental gymnastics to say “Actually, it really paralleled…”
Kishimoto already said he did those things to mislead us. There is no way to make them make sense with the endgame pairings because it was never intended to. If we have to look through everything in code, it’s bad storytelling.
Perfectly said, honestly.
I've always said it one way or another - even if we go the red herring route (which we all know it's bs bc technically it doesn't fit the red herring function and I explained in a YT video why), it's still in NaruSaku's favor.
It was intentionally written that Sakura develops feelings for Naruto, for example. We have a whole support system in and off itself built in the story's structural narrative - parallels/mirroring, thematic representation, symbolic representation, so on and so forth.
So no matter how you put it, it was a really BAD move on Kishi's part because if it's not red herring, it's actually just poor writing that he didn't follow through with his established themes.
If it is red herring, it's still in NaruSaku's favor because it means that the writing was INTENTIONAL like that, as in Naruto DID love Sakura. Sakura DID get to love Naruto. Their moments WERE intended to be romantic, because they were meant to mislead us.
The irony of this thing is that no matter how you look at it NaruSaku's writing is still in the win, lol.
I laugh at this to be honest. At this complete irony, lol.
How is it that the pairing that was meant to be a red herring makes more sense thematically and narratively then your supposed canon ones? In such a way that they affect the plot to its core characteristics, while your endgame ones barely affect it?
It's laughable anyway.

Hey chatte have you notice how recently on twitter you getting alot of naruto users going about how kaguya twist makes thematic sense and was actually planned long term? I'm curious as to why you think this is becoming one of a trend when back when it came out the majority hated madara being replaced and thought it came out of nowhere?
It's rather simple: they're reading with confirmation bias, because by the time they came into the picture, the story was already ended.
They didn't get to have the same experience as us, the slow burn one, where we were there at each step of the way and witnessed how everything was developed.
Ofc some details will make sense storywise, because as I said in an older ask where we discussed this subject, they went back and looked into the story and said "Hmm, what elements could we use to come up with something new here?".
And they found the loophole: the Kaguya clan.
But the Kaguya clan was nothing more than a mere afterthought in the OG series.
There's no actual foreshadowing, no red herring, no nothing to support this claims.
Hell we even have Kishi admitting himself that he wrote Kaguya bc he didn't know what else to do with Madara. Plus, there was also the sequel in the talks so ofc they had to restructure & recombine some elements to give it at least SOME degree of sense.
That doesn't mean it was "planned all along".

After coming to the realization that as much as I draw Hanami the most out all the kids but did research on her the least, I think I'm going to start doing some more research on her now.
Well, after all, it's your artistic expression, so don't feel bad that you didn't do any research on her.
But if it helps, I have a YT video where I explained the generally agreed facts about her.
Ofc, everyone does as they want in their own interpretation, this video is based on what was generally agreed upon when we came up with the kids back in the days of the ending/pre-ending.

Hope you enjoy!

I have 2 questions for the NaruSaku family. One is a modern au question, and another is just a random question because that's what popped up into my brain.
Question 1: If the NaruSaku family were to each play a sport, what kind of sport would they play? If not a sport, what about a club activity?
Question 2: How would they react if I gave each of them a flower?
Hi there!
Welcome to my inbox. Oh, what an interesting question! I have never thought about it to be honest.
Hmm, if I were to think about them I think I'd separate them based on sports/activities.
I don't see all of them being sporty, nor all of them being very studious. It's a mix.
In Hanami & Naruto's case I'd see them playing some sort of sports because they're energetic like that & need an output for their energy.
Hanami maybe voleyball? And Naruto hmm... why do I see him playing baseball?
Sakura & Arashi would be somewhere involved with certain studies - Sakura in the medical field ofc & maybe some club activity that deals with learning a lot about the world at large, while Arashi I see him inclined towards archeology & philology. Cuz ya know, his Uzumaki heritage (archeology) and the seals (philology).
Shina on the other hand, I see him the most well-balanced out of all. He'd literally be a mix of some book club where they learn all about snails & sports because well, his master IS LEE after all. :D
As for how they'd react, well, they'd all love it in their own way.
Sakura would care for hers and preserve it as much as possible, Naruto would love it but give it to Sakura, Shina would probably plant it so he can grow many more the next year, Hanami would say cute and still give it to her mom to take care of it cuz she doesn't have the patience, and Arashi would love it but also keep it and press it and leave it to dry to complete a secret dried flower collections he'd have somewhere in his room.
That's how I see it, at least. Of course, interpreting could vary from NS fan to NS fan.
But these are my views. Hope that answered your question.
Thanks for asking!

Striking distance
Bathed in the soft glow of flickering lanterns, a handsome young couple fought. Sweat flowed down their bodies as they faced each other in the exact center of the dojo. Their eyes locked in a steely gaze. It was subtle, barely noticeable amidst the chaos of the battle. However, as they took a moment to assess one another, it became clear. Their breathing had fallen into perfect harmony, as if they were two halves of the same whole. Inhales and exhales merged, a symphony of sound that echoed through the empty dojo.
Sakura broke the ceasefire.
Launching into action, she unleashed a flurry of furious strikes at Naruto. Her fists moved with lightning speed, powerful strikes aimed at his head and torso. Each punch fueled by determination, seeking to overpower her opponent with sheer force. The heavy but precise blows hammered at her opponent’s defense with surgical precision.
Stone faced, Naruto did not back down. With swift reflexes and honed skill, he evaded her with more thunderous attacks. When an opportunity presented itself, he took it. Every strike was a calculated risk, but an improvised movement. Variety was crucial. No repeated strategies, consecutive combinations, patterns, or habits. Flowing like water. While one hand skirted danger by deflecting a punch, the other hand was already attacking. Each hand moved in cohesion, uncertain of the other’s actions.
But the assault did not stop. Sakura pressed on, her attacks becoming more aggressive with each passing moment. Naruto remained unfazed; with confidence he stepped into the eye of the hurricane.
In the quiet embrace of the dojo, lit by the soft glow of paper lanterns, the battle spoke volumes. A mesmerizing dance of skill, strength, and passion. Their effortless grace was a testament to their years of combat.
Then Naruto spoke
“Sakura...” He huffed. “Will you marry me?”
She froze mid punch, her clenched fist hovering in the air inches from his face. Her brow furrowing in confusion, she squeaked, “What?”
Naruto grinned. “Will you marry me?”
Sakura scoffed, “Nice try. But I’m not falling for that. You want to distract me.”
“Why I would I want to distract you?”
“I’m two seconds away from knocking you out.”
“Knocking me out--? I would have dodged that punch...or blocked it—Not important, at least not right now.”
He looked her over. She remained locked up in her punching motion. A spot on imitation of an ice statue.
“Okay...” Naruto pressed on. “It’s a little sudden, but....it came out. So... Will you marry me?”
Sakura’s eyes widened in shock, her mouth now hanging open in disbelief.
She stared at him. He shrugged. Her eyes narrowed, roaming, tracing invisible paths across his face.
“Stop it” Sakura stammered, her voice a mixture of astonishment and bewilderment.  “Stop playing around.”
“I’m not playing around,” Naruto said, a hopeful smile on his lips. “We were supposed to be playing and experimenting with this spar, but you-you were off a little intense.”
Sakura unlocked herself. Taking a half step back out of her punching form, she sighed and straightened herself up. “I’m sorry, I was really focused.”
“I noticed.”
“I was feeling it, y’know.”
“Yeah, my ribs are feeling it too. Feeling bruised.”
She stared again, with even more disbelief. “Naruto. Did you just... propose to me?”
He nodded.
Disbelief again, now mixed in with some frustration, Sakura shook her head. “You’re really doing this, aren’t you?”
Naruto nodded again, a small smile playing on his lips. “Absolutely. So, what do you say?”
“You can’t!”
“I-can’t?”
Absolutely not, particularly during a fight.
“A spar...”
“I just-”
“So, that’s a ‘no’ then?”
“I never said no,” she said. “Who said no?”
If not ‘no,’ then what?”
“I said you can’t. Naruto look at me.”
“I’m looking.”
“I’m all frazzled, I’m dirty, I’m sweaty...I stink- I -you can’t!” She exclaimed.
His head tilted in confusion. “But I can, I did.”
“But why now? Why here? I thought...I thought we were fighting.”
“Sparring.”
“Why?” She asked.
“Whyyy...” Naruto said out loud. “I don’t know, I...” His voice spiked “I love you.”
He coughed, clearing his throat. “Is that not a good enough answer?”
She answered with a stare.
“For the record. You’re always beautiful to me, even covered in sweat.”
“I love you, Naruto,” Sakura murmured, her cheeks crimson. “I love you,”
She paused. “But you couldn’t let me shower first?”
Their eyes met, and their breaths aligned. Glances interlocked, freezing time as they sparred again.
With a slow, almost imperceptible nod, Naruto spoke up, “I’m surprised.”
“Surprised?”
“I’m surprised. You’re so surprised that I want to spend the rest of my life with you.”
“I’m not,” she stopped short. Her eyes wandered the room for a moment before a nervous laugh escaped her lips. “OK... maybe....sometimes you wonder, right? You wonder if it’s real.”
One more round. Their eyes locked once again in a fierce embrace.
“It’s real, isn't it?” She said.
“Yeah it is.”
“I never imagined," she said following an audible gulp of air. "Someone would ask me to marry them while I’m sweating in a Gi with my dirty bare feet out.”
Naruto scratched at his cheek, “Alright I accept I got a little carried away with the moment. But it felt right.”
Sakura licked her lips. “I was going to win the fight.”
“The spar?”
“Yeah that...”
“Nah, I would have countered you at the perfect time. Maybe with a spinning dropkick.”
“Oh really?”
“Yeah....Probably -Anyway if things started looking bad I’d summon some back up. I know a couple of frogs itching for a good figh-spar.”
Affection poured out from Sakura to the man standing across from her. Her cheeks flushed. She turned her head away from him. A tremor ran through her body. A ripple of emotion coursed along her shoulders. Her lips formed a question. She said nothing, however, as tears welled in her eyes, shimmering like dew drops. Then, a shy smile appeared on her face; it peeked out with caution before blossoming into joy. The dam burst, and the tears cascaded down her cheeks. Her body relaxed as she faced him, her eyes now showing more than affection.
“S-Sakura,” Naruto began, his voice shaky. “I’m sorry, you don’t have to say anything right now. Think about it. Take all the time you need--“
“Shut up,” Sakura whispered, her voice filled with emotion. “Idiot... Why did you do this when you already know my answer?”
Naruto drew in a sharp breath, “Is that a maybe?”
She moved fast, much faster than she had during the spar. She was on him before he could dodge, block, or blink. With a laugh, Sakura threw her arms around Naruto.
“Yes, Naruto. I’ll marry you.”
Naruto pressed a gentle kiss to her forehead, his arms wrapped around her.
“I know that wasn’t that the most romantic moment Sakura but I promise I’ll be very romantic on our anniversary.”
“On all our anniversaries,” she declared, snuggling deeper into his embrace.
“All our anniversaries,” he corrected.
She rested her head on his chest. His arms embraced her. They swayed across the dojo floor. Their movements were fluid and effortless, as if they had danced together many times.
“Naruto, if someone asks about how you proposed, how will you explain what just happened? “
“She was going to knock me out, so I proposed.
Sakura smothered her laughter into his neck and shoulder. “Sounds about right.”
The end.
If you like the story, please let me know!

Hello Chatte, it’s me again! Just read chapter 13 and it was great! The chapter really sets up what you wanted to do story wise. Each characters pov drives the plot and their motivations makes sense from the OG canon. I love Sakura and Naruto drives and motivation. Naruto acknowledges the challenges of his philosophy such as his feelings on Pein and the Raikage, his personal feelings and how he’ll have to adjust if he wants to be Hokage. Sakura driving the plot forward with her plans to deal with the aftermath with war and her own personal project and the potential consequences of that is great. I’m assuming that’s why Sakura is wearing black? To symbolize her maturity and death of innocence due to the war and the potential consequences of what she wants with bringing back the dead. Also Tsunade taking care of business is great, shows how her character coming full circle from her walking away from Konoha to coming back and to making sure the next generation doesn’t have to deal with it. I read it on AOE, and I think you dealt with dark subject matter well. People often justify horrific actions behind “good” intentions. Both in literature and in real life
Anyway I’m glad that you’re taking a break to plot out the rest story I’m sure that will be easier going forward!
Hiii dear!
First of all welcome to my inbox again. My heart skips a beat whenever I see a message from you because you're one of the few people that truly does go such in depth with the way I create this story from so various angles. You and another great person I talk to about Kaika have a way to see right through my writing like no other!
Not to take from the others who enjoy Kaika, far from me, I appreciate each and every person who does it, but it's something about you two that tickles my writing senses, so to speak, haha.
It like y'all see right through me, and not in a bad way, but a great one. To be honest, I have to admit that ever since I started writing Kaika, it gave me perhaps another angle to look at Kishimoto and understand his predicament - especially in terms of Sakura's character.
It's so nice when one (or multiple) of your readers understand these layers of your writing and what you're trying to do with a character, because it creates a bond between the two of you, an understanding in an off itself, a knowing, a belonging; like a (not so) secret/coded language where you as the writer leave the coded messages, and the reader interprets and deciphers the message.
And when someone deciphers and understands the message it's absolutely incredible. It's like a feedback loop where both parts are in absolute sync feeding each other information and keeping the "motor running", if I may say like that.
Such an incredible feeling! Which is why, like I said, offered me another opportunity to understand Kishi's predicament with Sakura - for example. He did say he was trying to do things with her, but sadly the message wasn't getting across to so many.
But for me, back then, it did. It's just that I didn't have any means to reach out to him and tell him all those things. Sometimes I wish I could have been able to, to make him understand that hey, look, there's someone out there who sees it, keep pushing it, keep doing it, I SEE YOU!
But alas, it didn't happen.
Which is why I'm writing Kaika today to be honest. Well, not the sole reason but one of them.
It's my way of saying back after all these years to Kishi (methaphorically speaking of course, cuz it's not like I could reach him or anything lol) - I see you. I always did. And for as much as I didn't agree with many parts of his story, especially the ending, and how mad I was with him back in the day, I still appreciate him for giving me Naruto and especially Sakura Haruno, a character that I'll greatly cherish.
Anyway, I went so much on a tangeeeent! Let me get back to the actual subject of your message here, haha.
So, for the story and the plot... I'm finally so happy I'm slowly getting to these parts of it and I am slowly but surely starting to move the plot forward, you have no idea. I've been meaning to do this for such a long time, and while I planted the seeds in the initial chapters, with all the things that were going in my personal life that prevented me from attending to the story as I wished, it's such a big relief to be able to finally get here.
And not only that, but do it in a natural and organic way, that stays true to its canon counterpart. Because one of my worries was, I have to admit, that after being gone for so long, I would loose that touch, if I may say so, when it came to my writing. That flavor I try to bring it.
I have to admit, it's still kind of on and off, because I've been away from it for a long time. Took me almost an year from chapter 11 to 12, for example. I felt terrible and I worried that it was going to affect my writing, as well as that natural and organic feeling I tried to give to the story when mirrored to OG material. Partially my writing was affected as I do see things I would've written differently every time I reread the chapters after publishing myself.
But at the same time if I would edit over and over and over again, I would've never publish them, so for now it's like move forward, and you'll get back to your groove as you get to writing it.
That's why I've written this chapter only and then I want to take a break to plan story arcs. Because I want to be done with that side so that then, I can go full steam ahead and only focus on improving my writing.
As for Naruto and Sakura, what I'm trying to do with them is actually have them move the plot forward, not just be pawns that witness how everything moves around them, but have them be the agents of change. And to do that, I wanted to delve deep into their psychological and emotional attributes - like you said, for Naruto being the Pein and Raikage storylines, which are one of the biggest antithesis to Naruto's idealistic self, and with Sakura I went from two angles - from a relationship with self POV and with others. With self it's the greatly missed opportunity with inner Sakura, and with others is through how she connects with the others and brings about real change, rather than staying back and feeling sorry for herself that she cannot do more than that.
I love exploring these aspects to be honest, because that's one of Kishi's trademark signature when it comes to his writing style - the way he delves into the deep pits of the human psyche and manages to engage both the heart and the minds of his readers.
Like I said in one many of my other posts and talks with people - the reason Naruto is successful as a story and so popular is because of emotional manipulation, actually. I know it may sound like a negative thing I'm saying, but it doesn't have to be.
I mean, it is and it isn't at the same time. Depends from what angle you decide to look at it. From one angle can be good, from another can be bad.
But as a standalone fact, that's the truth. Kishimoto was remarkably crafty at manipulating his reader's emotions and getting them attached to the story to this degree. For that, I applaud him, even if I don't agree with him on everything he did, I can still recognize this remarkable skill of his.
And for better or for worse, I learned a lot from him, storytelling-wise. So for that, I'll always be grateful. And so I found my way to do that - through Kaika.
As for Sakura wearing black - YAS! That's exactly why it is, haha. That's exactly why both of them are having more black than other colors in their designs. Because it's meant to represent the depths of their psyche, going into the deep end face whatever they find there on that path.
I know Kishi already did it with Naruto in OG, but that was more on a personal level. It was from a standalone POV. So I thought, ok, how can I put a spin to this, add my own touch while still being faithful to OG? So then, that's when the opportunity presented itself - in his vastly unexplored Hokage dream that neither the franchise didn't go too much in depth.
Or at least, not in the way I've seen it, because from what I saw, they did something, but too surface level if you ask me.
Personally, I like to go deep and drill in the darkest depths of the being, if I may say so, haha.
Which is precisely what I'm doing with Sakura on the other hand. Sakura is a goldmine! An unexplored, uncharted territory with whom you can do so much with. It's incredible, really. Like I said on my Twitter on a post, it baffles me that Kishi didn't do so much with her because the potential. Dear God, the potential!
But oh well, I guess that leaves me more room to play with, haha.
As for my dear Tsunade, when I started Kaika I have to admit I didn’t exactly knew what to do with her other than tying her with some plots regarding the whole medical advancements. But those are built to bring forth Sakura's development, so I can't have Tsunade outshine Sakura. In this case Tsunade's function as a character in the story is very limited. This would prevent properly portraying the exposition with the new generation surpassing the old one.
And as we know, due to the way Kishi developed Sakura, it's rarely truly noticeable who's the better medic and he often put Tsunade in even scenes that impact-wise imo, would've fit Sakura better from a writing pov.
But then I ADORE Tsunade, so then the issue rose - what do I do with her character, in such a way that while yes, in Sakura's story she doesn't outshine her and provides support, but still leaves a great impact and mark on the plot as a standalone character, outside of Sakura's influence? Because as I said, this story will be mainly Sakura Haruno centric. Buuuut, I want it to be a balanced story, still.
And upon analyzing the character better - that's when the opportunity presented itself that fit all that criteria - is a supporting character in terms of Sakura's medical ninja development, however, she's also standing her her own as a standalone character by being a cog in one of the wheels of the old system that I work on reforming to bring the new one, and all done nicely wrapped in the the theme of the old generation vs the new one.
And given that this story is going to be mostly a story that focuses on the female counterparts - Sakura, Tsunade, Hinata, Karin, Ino (it's like I literally did a flip of the OG story that focused on the male cast lol, now I realized it), and females being the nurturers and live givers, I found it perfectly to have Tsunade the one that takes matter into her own hands in the problem of the Uchiha genocide. Because at her core she's a nurturer, a life giver. Despite being so incredibly strong, she represents perfectly the very principle of the traditional woman.
Because you see, I believe there's nothing wrong in portraying women in their traditional views of nurturers, life givers and all those other attributes that are associated with the female gender.
It's a matter of how you do it. You can have a character that's both a girl boss and a tender nurturing lover, for example. Like Tsunade is.
After all, the symbol that is associated with the divine feminine principle is the circle (which also happens to be the Haruno symbol *winkwink*). A circle has 360 degrees which encompasses 360 angles from which you can view a particular subject.
A woman encompasses all those 360 ways you can look at her in ONE. One circle.
It's just a matter of male authors rarely being able to portray that.
But since I'm a woman, I guess it's easier for me to do it.
And I will. Through Kaika.
Thank you once again for your incredibly insightful message.
Like you see, I love talking about these things, since this message turned out to be incredibly long.
It's been quite a while since I've written such a long response to an ask I receive, haha. But you surely know how to pull out those things in me haha.
Thank you, once again, as I said.
Wish you nothing but the best.
