are there any top five potential character dynamics you think aren't talked about enough but are interesting to think about, or are just really underrated?
ooh that's interesting!! alright let's see
5 Masamune and Kenta, the little interaction they had was really nice, their energies worked well together, it was a cool moment for Masamune too. I wish Kenta could have had more time to shine in Masters and in general, and idk their arcs work well together too?
4 King and Zeo, their personalities are so different and just,, I think it would be explosive and uncomfortable at first but they could be good friends eventually. This is totally based on Deity's fanfic about team dungeon
3 Ryuga and Hyoma: Yeah I know I'm annoying rgfhjekl This is one of my favourite character dynamic that literally doesn't exist and that I made up from 2 lines of dialogue and one frame where they face each other, that's it,, it's mostly based on a joke, like Hyoma following Ryuga around and being annoying and chaotic, breaking the dragon boy's mind... But also I think there's like a lot of potential between these two,, once again based on one thrownaway line from a beyblade ds game. And just,, I want my two faves interacting and fighting and Ryuga being roasted, that's all
2 Hikaru and Gingka: like,, in canon? it's so little elements when there's so much to think about... Thank you Deity and Sadie for bringing Hikaru and Gingka sibling dynamic to life!! Hikaru totally becomes a Hagane, thats canon in my mind. They are just so dear to me, they can bond about pressure and dead parents (lol), their relationship to failure, to learning to trust their friends... They should have been bigger rivals like pls,, i keep thinking that their relationship and dynamic could have been so much better than the Kyoya/Gingka rivalry fr... So yeah, Gingka Hikaru rival/sibling dynamic my beloved
1 Gingka and Hyoma: Most things related to Hyoma are like,, one line of dialogue that my brain somehow connects to his character traits and story and it's pretty sad :') But I really like to think about a pretty complicated relationship bc they love each other so much, but after the dark nebula attack and Gingka having to leave Koma, he changed so much, Hyoma notices it and I imagine a distance growing between them as the seasons go on. Not helped by the fact that Hyoma just disappears from the canon too :') but it's so interesting to think about their dynamic, as people who mean so much to each other, had to see the other change and leave, maybe they don't know what to do exactly to support the other? Maybe there's a little bit of bitterness and jealousy from both, Hyoma from seeing Gingka being always so far ahead and at the center of everything, always saving the day, and Gingka from just seeing Hyoma being able to stay in the village like nothing happened, keeping this place of paradise that he couldn't keep??? Idk there's so much like aaa And their dynamic makes me think a lot about moomin&snufkin relationship too I love them soo much
sooo I had to think real hard about it vgrjhdek and idk if these are really underrated, i don't think so?? idk if I answered the question well, but yeah here it is

now my life is sweet like cinnamon, like a fuckin' dream i'm living in - genshin fic
ft. yae miko, ei, zhongli, jean, neuvilette
summary: they've left the universe, but are still watching you from above <3 (letters from them to you after they're gone, take that as you will, but it is heavily implied that they are dead)
YAE MIKO! my dearest yn, i have so much to tell you. there's so much i've seen here, and i wish with all my heart that you could be here with me. don't get me wrong, little one, i do believe you should stay a little longer, just to experience the whole of teyvat (and please send me all your stories, i just love reading them over fried tofu), but it'd be nice to have someone here with me to experience these wonderful things. i've met some old friends now, and we've caught up on so much. who knew a few hundred years could change someone so drastically, yet retain their essence? i wonder when you journey here, will you still be the same? oh, it'd be interesting, don't you think? it'd make a terrific novel. 'world-renowned traveller traverses the afterlife, how do they fare?', a fine title for an article, isn't that right? well, i should probably get going now. there's so much to do, and so much to see. do tell ei to write me back sometime, it would be lovely to hear from her again. and you, little one, should write to me too. hehe, the stories from your travels are always amusing, after all. with love, fried tofu with all the frills
EI! dear yn, how have you been? it must be awfully tiring, travelling around. i do hope you get the proper rest you need. there's always desserts in inazuma, feel free to stop by and help yourself to some. oh, and how is little paimon doing? i remember she quite enjoyed the sweets we shared on a number of our walks. frankly, it's been rather relaxing here. i enjoy it very much. it would be a great pleasure if you could visit one day, but that'd mean your journey would come to an end, and i know you have your sibling to find. i am regretful that i am unable to provide much information on her, but i've heard stories of a traveller very much like you, from centuries ago. they say that the traveller was brave, valiant and kind-hearted, much like you. it is at times like these that i realise i have missed so much, meditating in the plane of euthymia. i dearly wish that i had more time with my people, and you, of course, to truly understand the wonders of this world. do that for me, won't you? live your life out to the fullest. do not leave behind any regrets. and when we meet again, you will tell me all about your adventures. oh, and bring some desserts for me, please. thank you. yours sincerely, ei
ZHONGLI! yn, it has been a while since we last corresponded. how have you been doing? i heard that you are currently in fontaine. it is a beautiful place, i must admit. one full of history and culture and stories. if we have time, let us sit down with osmanthus wine and i shall tell you the stories i've heard. there's a story told in liyue, of a man who plays the guqin and another, a lumberjack, who understood his playing. it is said that the guqin player and the lumberjack agreed to meet at the very place they met a year later. tragically, the lumberjack met his end before he could fulfill this promise. wrecked with grief, the guqin player vowed to never touch even a string again, destroying his instrument, for what use would there be if there was no one else who would understand him? hearing this story again, it reminded me of you. who else had such empathy that they could understand the will of the divine? that said, you do have many other nations in teyvat to explore. throughout your journey, you will meet gods in disguise, and mortals disguised as gods. you will meet the soft-hearted, and the cruel. and you will survive it all, for you are an adventurer, above gods and deities, above the Heavenly Principles. please do visit me when you have time. i'd love to have a drink or two with you someday. and if you could, do check up on liyue sometime. i know they are well, but as a mortal, i never got the chance to experience it fully. it would mean a lot if you could do it in my stead. childe should have enough funds, should you need any. yours, zhongli
JEAN! my lovely yn, i heard you are doing well. that's good to hear, really. your job as an adventurer comes with its risks, and though they may not show it, but the knights of favonius often worry about your safety. haha, on more than one occasion, i've caught a few of them in the tavern wondering about you. do visit mondstadt more often to put their mind at ease, yeah? speaking of mondstadt, how are things over there? i left in such a rush that i wonder if things are frenzied. oh, i know i shouldn't worry, but i don't want everyone to pick up after me. you know how lisa hates doing work. kaeya's often busy too, travelling to sumeru and whatnot. albedo and sucrose are often busy with their experiments too, so i doubt they'd have time. and amber! how is she? poor girl, i heard her father passed on recently. she will get through it, i'm sure. and little klee, oh, i hope someone's able to keep her company. ah, am i rambling too much? i apologise, i've just been so worried over them. if you don't mind me asking, how has barbara been? i was her only family, since she isn't that close to the ragndinvr brothers, but i was always swamped with work. i do hope she's doing better. i never did get the chance to say i'm proud of all that she's accomplished now, did i? in that sense, i think i've failed terribly. enough about me, though. where has the wind taken you to? what else have you seen? and paimon, she's still with you, isn't she? take care of each other, both of you. come back to mondstadt when you need a break, its doors are always open for you. i hope to see you again, dear yn. may the wind bless your travels. best regards, jean gunnhildr NEUVILETTE! dear yn, ahem, is that how you start an informal letter? i apologise in advance, i am unused to sending such letters. now that you have left fontaine, things have strangely been a little duller. i often find myself looking up from my desk, waiting to see your face as you hand over a bottle of water from yet another one of your travel destinations. i thought i had sampled water from all over, but alas, you have once again proven me wrong. it was always a delight, however, to watch your expressions as i comment on the taste. i think, in some ways, it has helped me identify the subtle cues of humans. for example, when you lean in just a little when i speak, it shows your interest in my opinion. conversely, when your fingers start fidgeting, i know i've overstepped. i do not wish to bore you with an incredibly long letter, so i shall keep this as concise as possible. as you travel across teyvat, you will face victories and defeat. i know that your fairy companion will, sooner or later, tell you this, but you need to know that you are a traveller unlike any other. you are stronger than most, kinder than most. your strengths are built from your weaknesses, so one loss is just another stepping stone. with that said, i wish you all the best in your travels. when the time comes, let us sit down and have a meal, my treat. warmest regards, neuvilette
a/n: the story mentioned in zhongli's part is actually true! it's about 伯牙, a guqin player who wrote 水仙操 and 钟子期, a woodcutter. their story is more about their devotion towards each other as friends despite the staggering difference in class. you can read about them here.

Nuzi Hellspawns (this took may more time and effort than I wanted it too sobs)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
More info on the twins, Scrapped child outfit for Orita & the AO3 comment(er) who gave me the name ideas (bc I'm bad at names lol) under the cut 💕
Orita:
N calls her his "sweet Violet" due to the color of her optics being a light purple
Personality wise she mostly takes after N, however she did inherited Uzis unhingedness so she has her moments
She got Uzi's skill in robotics, engineering and hacking
Her and Uzi help each other with their projects once Orita is old enough to help Uzi (Uzi always helped her daughter when asked ofc)
Once the twins switch to their Teen/Adult bodies, she starts to basically upgrade herself by custom making DD forearms so she looks more like N too
The above point worries N a little because she actually gave herself weapons in them -- N always refused to have her look at his weaponry, having a strict "no weapons around the kids unless it's absolutely necessary" rule.
Because of the above rule, Orita went to V instead because V doesn't mind her looking at her weapons. She thinks it's cool that she's interested in them
Her childhood body used to be Uzi's when she was a kid (same with her Pill Baby body lol)
She placed a sticker of the DD logo on her cores cover as a child to kind of honor her Dad, she loves him dearly <3
N did her hairstyle :3
She probably picked up the phrase "Biscuit" from her dad
Scrapped outfit:
Tumblr media
Rexim
He takes more after Uzi with his personality so he's more angsty
He continues the catch phrase "Bite Me" from his mother and Grandmother
He inherited Ns love for animals & cute things and one might catch his angsty persona slip when it comes to that
He has a bad habit of picking fights or getting involved in them
This resulted in his main camera being severely damaged in one confrontation, resulting in him primarily using the Headband optics as camera
Said headband was made Uzi (both of the twins headbands were) because the twins code included Ns "real eyes" / headband optics, which resulted in them having issues with their sense of orientation and depth perception without said optics. They aren't nearly as advanced as their dads when it comes to features and accuracy, but they get the job done
He kinda goes through a "my dad is boring" phase at one point, but that's swiftly put to an end when he actually sees N in action
He had severe problems balancing using WD legs, seemingly not having enough footing to do so. So Uzi made him custom ones based on Ns lower legs so that their son has more surface to stand on and distruste his weight on
The WD symbol on his cores covering ends up scratched up and with chipped paint as he gets older, due to him getting into fights a lot
Both Twins
Both kids inherited the downsides that come with being a DD/Solver user - meaning they can't go out in the sun, have issues overheating and do need to feed on oil (these issues don't start until they are transferred to their first functional bodies. As babies they're fine)
This probably means Uzi went out of her way to improve their internal cooling system a bit
Other
Seeing as Oritas childhood body is that of Uzi, I am debating on if I make Thad child-free and he offered them his for Rexim
This idea comes from me hc N and Thad as having a brotherly bond & feeling like the CoolKids Trio would still be very close later on. Thad is practically the twins uncle :) (he spoils them lol)
Thank you to this AO3 user for the name ideas <3
Tumblr media
When I looked up the two guns in question I found out Orita also is a brand for stuff like dish soap and laundry detergent & Rexim is also a candy brand lmao

HI MINIE here's some refreshments and a few random blood moon questions :DD
-anything on miss eugenie please 🙏
- is there any prominent symbolism or themes you're planning on including?
- if adelaide was a color, what color would she be?
- free ramble card thee may take as thee wishes
*gasp* Oh hi Stella!!! This was a wonderful surprise! Everything looks divine~
Tumblr media
Madame Eugénie!!! What a star, we love her
So fun fact!!! Her nickname, Génie, can be translated two ways. Firstly, to directly mean "genie", for she is the one who makes Adelaide's wish to not be alone a reality. Secondly, it can also translate to "genius" which she absolutely is.
Also she will have a hot manslayer wife
Hmmm prominent symbolism? Couldn't tell you too much but the colour red will be very important...
In the story, there is seemingly no hero, more of simply two anti-heroes both struggling for their own side of the story. Both Adelaide and Julienne have a warped perception on reality, scarred from their pasts, and in a society such as Blood Moon's, where vampires live freely among humans, there is bound to be two sides to everything.
Adelaide would probably be a crimson red, the blood red colour of the scarlet gems in her jewelry. (Red certainly has a pattern lol). Julienne on the other hand would be black and silver, like the leather of her clothes and the quick swipe of her daggers.
Ooh a ramble card!!! I've decided to talk about the lovely Julienne Toussaint (mentioned breifly above lol), who we have not seen so far but is the other mc of the book and is Adelaide's love interest!
She lives in a sketchy part of a Canadian town named Aspenrose Heights, where gangs and illegal activity run rampant under the cover of night. She happens to be the young leader of a mafia herself, an all-woman group that hunts vampires in the goal to make them pay for the innocent human lives they took away.
Her name is French Canadian because representation!!! Whereas Adelaide is France-French, raised in Britain for most of her teenage years. I most definitely plan on playful banter where they speak French at some point, their different accents as a contrast.
Julienne is absolutely a dagger-hoarding lesbian mafia leader and I love her dearly. She tries to kill Adelaide at least three times, but the feeling is definitely mutual. (Good luck beating a vampire who is your type, darling).
Thank you so much for the ask!!!!

final thoughts on the ilw finale: jocelyn edition (ch 23 spoilers below) @itlivesproject
---
I will admit that Jocelyn’s post took a bit more time for me to complete. After doing several deep dives, I found myself unable to figure out what exactly I wanted to say about her conclusion. It was also my first real attempt at tackling an interpretation of a Shadow ending. Tying that in with how I think it works with Jocelyn and Rowan’s story... needless to say, I felt somewhat overwhelmed lol.
It is inevitable that the end to a beloved story will feel bittersweet. The urge to hang on to the journey, to delay reading that final line before you’re forced to close the book once and for all- that’s natural. To quote power!Rowan:
Tumblr media
It hurts to say goodbye. And with the end of ILW, we as players are left to deal with more than a few of them. That being said, I can understand why it is difficult for people to pursue the Shadow path + have it be their farewell for the characters they grew to love so dearly. But beyond that pain lies a story that is as beautiful as it is tragic. One that I think is worth exploring.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
As always, gotta flaunt the stats 😎
If you’ve been following along with my other posts, you know that my Jocelyn route was the only one to ‘organically’ achieve a Shadow ending. After spending some time to marinate in my thoughts, I realized that having Jocelyn’s path end this way works incredibly well, narratively speaking, when paired with Rowan’s journey to becoming one with the Power.
However you play as Rowan impacts everyone they interact with throughout the series. @professor-abeloved did a wonderful job explaining the game’s mechanics. For anyone interested, you can read their full post here. To quickly summarize, ILW goes above and beyond with ensuring that the choices you make matter by varying the difficulty of raising a character’s nerve/relationship score. This aspect alone adds more depth for the gang and makes achieving a successful relationship with them far more rewarding.
Jocelyn has a unique element to her character progression throughout the game. Several moments arise where players are met with a choice to have MC (ILITW and ILW) forgive Jocelyn for her past actions. Whether you choose to have these characters forgive her is entirely up to you. I should note that upon entering ILW, I only had a vague impression of the events in ILITW and ILB from my original gameplay years ago. Maybe that’s why it was easier for me to let these characters choose to forgive Joss for her less than stellar past. Others may not share the same sentiment, and that’s totally valid. ILW does a good job addressing these concerns players may have with Jocelyn. However, whether these characters forgive her isn’t what I want to focus on. What matters to me: By the end of ILW, can Jocelyn forgive herself? Players get that answer depending on her outcome after her nightmare sequence. The theme of self-acceptance is ever-present in Jocelyn’s arc. Rowan’s as well. Their issues may differ, but the root of the matter is the same.
Upfront and rough around the edges- this is how Rowan first meets Jocelyn. Her abrasive attitude may turn people away, but it doesn’t take long after their initial meeting for Ro to come to this conclusion:
Rowan: If you think you deserve to be punished for anything, you don’t.
Jocelyn: Hmph. You say that like you know me.
Rowan: I do know you. You’re a protector. I know you don’t want to admit it, but you keep us safe.
A protector- that is Jocelyn’s core essence. To quote a line from her Blood route ending:
Jocelyn: After everything with Cody, after everything I did, who I was, I convinced myself I didn’t deserve to live my own life. To fully move on from the Power. I didn’t deserve to be happy.
Jocelyn’s self-sacrificing nature is a key component to her motives throughout the series. She is someone who is willing to cross any line necessary if it means that no one else would get hurt. An over-correction for the pain she has caused others. Rowan’s choice to merge with the Power is the ultimate sacrifice. They give up every earthly tether- their body, their friends, everyone, and everything that they grew to love- forever. But in Rowan’s case, their sacrifice doesn’t come from a place of self-hatred, but rather self-love. If returning to the Power is Rowan’s greatest desire, then their merge with it is a glorious experience. Something that just innately feels right.
Rowan: I am the Power. I used to think that I was just a regular person, but ever since I learned my origins -- how I was created -- I know that’s just not true.
Loha: Interesting response. You do not feel human? You do not have desires to live as a human?
Rowan: All I want is to protect the people I care about. But once that’s taken care of... no. I don’t think I could live as a human. If I survive today, I want to continue learning about the Power. I want to continue protecting people from it.
...
Rowan: I want to go back to the Power, to finally belong, and if doing so protects the world I love and the people in it, then why would I choose anything else?
What happens when two people who are hellbent on saving the world fall in love with each other? Turns out, one of them is gonna save it.
Along with choosing to have Rowan be forever separated from everyone they’ve ever grown to love (such a fun time lol), there’s also a choice on whether to leave a gate open between the world and the Power dimension. In the end, I chose to keep the gate open. While there is the possibility of another Matthias-like situation arising, Rowan leaving some tie to the Power on Earth makes sense when viewed through the lens of having a romantic relationship with Jocelyn.
Rowan: The Power is beautiful and has blessed this world in many ways. I believe the two dimensions can coexist. We shouldn’t lose its goodness just because of one horrible person.
The world is inherently flawed. Even if Rowan were to cut its ties to the Power, it won’t solve all its problems. There will still be those who suffer. Injustices from the cruelty of man. So why leave the gate open? Why not eliminate at least one of the world’s many problems? The answer is simple: love
I don’t think it’s too cheesy to say that love is the answer. It’s love that brings Jocelyn and Rowan together- that helps Jocelyn grow to be a better person. It’s their love that makes their last goodbye so damn painful. And it’s love that allows Ro to think that while there is darkness in the world, there’s also light.
Rowan: You’re worthy of friendship and love and compassion. Never forget that.
Jocelyn: I won’t.
The world Rowan grew to love was one tied to the Power. In that world, they found someone flawed, but beautiful. Fierce and brave. They saw the good in the bad and loved her with everything they had- so much that they ended up saving the world for her. Rowan enters the Power realm knowing that there will be people like Jocelyn to protect the world long after they’ve gone. We leave Jocelyn sitting alone on the same Ferris wheel she rode with Rowan (happier times 😭)
Jocelyn: You know what makes you a real asshole? The fact that you made me want to be better. I... I want to... be kind. And you’d say that it wasn’t you, you just gave me a push but... I know it’s you, at least a little, because I was terrified of you, terrified enough to want to kill you, and you... you made me want to be kind to you.
Rowan leaves the world in a better state than when they found it- a protector’s dream. They help Jocelyn realize that she is worthy of greater things, capable of being a good person. What a poignant end for ILW’s resident badass.
---
Blood Route:
Jocelyn: I think the only person you need to worry about right now is you. You have some serious baggage, and you should deal with it the way that’s best for you. It’s okay to put yourself first, Rowan.
Having Jocelyn say this by the end is a testament to her growth throughout the series. It’s wonderful to see her helping Rowan the same way they helped her. I fear these two, esp. with the nature of their characters, will both have a lingering case of hero’s guilt by the end of this route- always thinking that there is more that could’ve been done. However, they will have each other to rely on to help them continue to live for themselves, not others.
Mixed Route:
In terms of being able to align with an LI with this route, Jocelyn wins as she is the only one out of the gang who expresses any desire to stay in Westchester. If Rowan doesn’t romance her, she is guaranteed to do so. My initial fear of pursuing a Mixed route stems from Joss’ motivations for staying in Westchester in her Blood route. She admits that she feels like she can’t move on from the Power. That she has to stay to fix the wrongs she’s caused. Thankfully, my concerns were addressed with this line alone:
Jocelyn: You’re right. I deserve to be happy. I can choose the kind of life I live, whether that’s to keep fighting or choose something different. If it weren’t for you, I don’t think I could have seen that.
Not to be witty, but giving Jocelyn the power to decide how she lives the rest of her life is *chef’s kiss* immaculate. Her motives, once clouded by guilt and fear, are now of her own volition. Seeing that level of self-assurance from her by the end of the series is nothing short of amazing.
---
And now for some good ol’ fashioned keyboard smashing:
Joss’ love language: linking pinkies 😭
Joss x Abel are BFFs confirmed pt 2 🎉🎉
I’m telling yall if you haven’t played the non-nsfw scenes in your LIs epilogue- go out and play them- I love seeing the little in-between moments with them
Alright now that I have seen everything- I get why we had Ro give a cake to Abel. It makes up for the fact that we can’t see Moss in his route LMAOO
Anyways, back to Jocelyn
I love her
so much
her spice scene: 5 stars
Ro worshipping her scars- plsss my heart can’t take it
“I’ve been called hot or sexy before, but I’ve never really felt beautiful. Not until you.”
COME ON
imma leave now before I ramble any further

Heya! I am curious- you have any other OCs in any other fandoms you want to share? Lilith is sweet so I was wondering!
Thanks!
Hello there!
first of all thanks for the question - and I am happy that you seem to like Lilith <3 Well, I have a few 😂 I won't give you all of them and if you wanna know something specific about the one or other just ask :) I am guessing the question mainly aims for their looks ^^
My very first and still very beloved ones were for Bioware games - Mass Effect and Dragon Age in particular. So meet Blue Shepard and Numin Lavellan ^^
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
I dearly love these characters and both series will be among my favourite of all time. The Normandy and Skyhold will forever mean HOME for me. I really am one of these epersons who also enjoyed ME Andromeda and I also have an OC there - but she simply isn't as dear to me as the two above (sme goes for DA 1 and 2)
I have quite a few Star Wars characters (in fact I have a legacy - generations constructed from the old republic until the new republic - I even have a Clone OC ^^) but since it would be too much for this post I give you Iego - one of the dearest OCs I have ever created, my little Sith monster of whom I am really proud of. A LOT. (to this point one might see that I have a thing for color coding. Iego is like Lilith an albino. Most of my chars are color coded white or black.... I simply cannot change my taste xD)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I love this Nautolan Bitch way too much - he has a freaking great playlist and he is the OC to whom I turn quite regularly to to be honest. For years now. He is pretty different from the rest of my squad and is pure fun to play with. The only one of my dorks who has a whole homepage btw. I have so much fun writing him - even quoting him. He also might have the greatest backstory in my opinion.
The newest additions to the flock are my Baldur's Gate chars - Ares Lucien Brouillard and Eloise Moisissure - him being an Oathbreaker Paladin worshipping Myrkul, her being a Druid of the Spore. I have a Necromancer thing in DnD without ever playing a true Necromancer and I am a sucker for Myrkul and mushrooms - so there we go. Do not get me started on the color coding again xD! By the way - Eloise was at first created with the thought of "what would Lilith play in Baldurs Gate" and I simply loved her way too much and she and Ares shared a story very quickly ^^
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Last but not least - I am into MMORPGs for about nearly 20 years now, so I guess you can say my oldest OC by my side for all these years is my WoW character Phyrok:
Tumblr media
The second MMORP in my life is TESO and here I have a Khajiit skooma dealer as main - and a sweet little Dark elf guy with the longest name in forever :P
Tumblr media Tumblr media
There are more - as I guess we all have way too many of these beloved characters, but these are the ones dearest to me. I guess you might say they are family ;)
Thanks again for the interest and sorry for the long post xD If anyone wants to share their OCs as well (or you want) pls feel free (also to tag me so that I do not oversee it) <3 It is always a joy to see the OCS of others from the different fandoms <3 (or even the very same)

Introduction: I used to do a thing back in LiveJournal days called "The Patti Report", about Ghost of the Robot shows and James Marsters appearances. I stopped because I started getting negative pushback that I was bragging (I wasn't, or at least, didnt mean to; I wrote them for people who weren't able to be there to get a taste; I even held back things so it wouldn't look that way. Ah jealousy!), and others were taking my words and twisting them out of context to read negatively and I was NOT having that. It became not worth it. I'm kinda reviving TPR for a friend who requested it, but about the show I saw last night. Here goes:
The Patti Report
Louis Tomlinson "Faith in the Future World Tour" at MGM Music Hall, Boston, MA
July 25, 2023
So, I went to see Louis Tomlinson, late of 1Direction, now solo-touring with his "Faith in the Future World Tour" show, promoting his solo album, delayed 2 years because of COVID19.
It started with me nearly not making it at all. I had flown across country for another show (added much later than my Louis tickets) the previous day with no issues and plenty of time. (I should be in an ad--or maybe a record book--flying across country and back to make 2 concerts in 2 days!😅) The return was tight, I knew, but had it been on time, would have left me just enough time to get to the venue, maybe even to my car to drop my bag and back (which thankfully the venue had a coatcheck! Thank you MGM Music Hall!) But, I was flying Spirit Airlines (note, for the frist, and hopefully, the last time! Spirit Airlines deserves every bit of the ragging they get!), so they were late leaving, and because of that, we got stuck on the tarmac on arrival for almost 45 minutes, complete with screaming baby the whole time. The cumulative effect was that the show had already started before I even got off the plane. I paid dearly for a cab and got there, thankfully, just as the opening act was finishing their set. Which I didn't know was happening, thank goodness for them, and sorry I missed them! I was massively stressed out and exhausted by the time I got there.
I admit up front that I was not a fan of Louis Tomlinson nor of 1D--not against them, just not interested in most current music, mainly because of bad tinnitus that makes music hard to listen to, and because of a lack of music I find palatable... I'm old, OK?!😅 and picky--last music genres I got into were Alt Rock and Grunge! So, that rather describes my most recent musical tastes, which is not Louis, LOL! I went for a friend who couldn't go herself. What I found there was a very pleasant surprise.
I hadn't listened to much of his music, see above for why. So, I was unfamiliar with any of it and him for the most part. I had gone to see Harry Styles' "Love on Tour" back in 2021, another ex-1D member I'd had no prior interest in until my friend introduced them to me. I was only barely a little more familiar with Harry's music, but as with Louis, I went for my friend to see him, too. I can't help but compare the two ex-bandmates from my limited experience of them, but I also want to get into how I experienced Louis individually. So, here are my observations:
First, Louis and Harry are *very* different! Different styles, energies, personas, all of it. Almost night and day different. I had expected a little more "Harry-ness" (as I think of it, the whole rock-star persona/performance) given their joint past of "teething" as a corporate-formed boy band from a TV show contest. But none appeared. Despite their time as part of the same band, they are very different as solo artists. Where Harry's is a very big, polished show, Louis's is intimate, raw and very 'present'.
I decided that Louis is a modern version of a classic "crooner". He sings heartfelt songs (not that Harry doesn't, just very differently, and less of them.) He sings them with little fanfare or theatrics, just a man and a mike which he sometimes removes fom the stand to walk across the stage. (Aside: He seemed to favor stage right over stage left, even beginning the encore on that side, which made me wonder if there was someone, or something special going on, over there.😆)
With Harry, you get a whole show--dancing, theatrics, showy outfits, and lots of Harry-the-rock-star persona. Not so with Louis. No dance moves or showy showmanship, no costumes, just singing. It's all about the music with Louis; not putting on a show, but just singing from the heart. Which isn't a bad thing, not at all, just a different thing.
Louis wore black. Black jeans, black sneakers without the usual ugly, gigantic soles of most running shoes (hallelujah!), and a very cool black t-shirt with a stylized face on it. Given some of his stagewear choices (extremely rumpled tan shorts, really?😆) I gave this choice a huge thumbs-up!
I have no idea of the names of the songs, so no setlist, sorry. Sadly, because I enjoyed a couple of them especially, and would like to hear them again when the crowd isn't drowning him out (the tinnitus. From being too close to stages in my youth, let me be a cautionary tale!). I'll have to do some digging, and hope I can find them. NOTE: Since writing this, I have discovered it's "Written All Over Your Face" and apparently I am far from alone in its affect!🤣
I'll admit I'm not into tenors, preferring baritone male voices like Harry's. Louis has a way more than passable voice, but maybe because it was a second night? he sounded a little strained, hit a few flats, and let the audience do a lot of the singing, which they were more than happy to do at ear-splitting volume, LOL! All that minor stuff aside, the show was really enjoyable, way more than I expected, going in (sort of) blind as I did. The upbeat songs were perky and made me want to move (I was too exhausted to actually get up and dance, though, LOL); the slower songs were sung with a ton of heart. I was thoroughly engaged and engrossed. (continues below photos)

I had known Louis likes going walkies, and that he has a stage set-up that allows him to step down into the crowd, which I was looking for, and which he did near the end of the show (maybe in case his clothes got ripped? It has happened!) The crowd was well-behaved, it appeared from my seat; didn't maul him or at least, didn't rip his cool shirt, just touched and adored, which Louis eats up, it was obvious! The other amusement (to me) was someone threw a kid's ball on stage, which the soccer-loving Louis couldn't stop kicking, LOL!
The backdrops were 5 drop-screens that alternately showed the band, Louis, and very cool, sometimes psychedelic graphics. Later those were exchanged for what appeared to be drapes with lighting embedded in them. The overall lighting scheme was either red or blue dominant about 75% of the show, depending on the song (faster vs slower, respectively, or maybe based on lyrical content.) Red steamers came down near the end of the show. There was a brief break--all annouced rather than pretending to wait for the audience to go hoarse screaming for an encore the artists will do anyway--before a 4-song encore. One small negative note: he never introduced his band individually, which every other solo artist I've ever seen does.
I was so into it, but also so tired from a long 2 days, that I didn't check to see how long it was, but I'd guess about 1.5 hours. And, because of the unknown and his being a tenor, I was just a little surprised that I enjoyed every note of it as much as I did. I highly recommend his show even if you don't know his songs, it's just that infectious! The earlier stresses just melted away in the joy of the music and shared experience, and I went home energized enough for that 2+ hour midnight drive despite my earlier exhaustion. Thanks, Louis and company, for a lovely evening after the nightmare of getting there!
Peace,
PattiB

Low hanging fruit! Low hanging fruit! Mayuri Kurotsuchi, Vexen Kingdomhearts and/or Fray FFXIV 👀
let's GET those fruits... with bonus fray! this is a long one haha
Tumblr media
mayuri kurotsuchi is like crack cocaine to me
they are so cool looking!: i think this opinion is generally shared by mayuri likers everywhere. this guy is so fashion
everyone but me is wrong about them <3: reading mayuri fic is like drinking toxic slutch. i get irrationally angry when people make him a shrinking violet... there's a lot of weird takes in the world about this guy! the amount of fix-it-fic like "mayuri is a good father and cares about things" is enough to blow your liver clean out of your body... but even the more "on-canon" interps can be out of left field for me. it's like we're all taking different 5-second clips of this guy to expand on. never rp your blorbos, it makes it personal
wasted potential: i think mayuri would've been an excellent continuing villain. he's got his most punch right in the start, and then as he becomes the clown king of kubo's dreams, his edge softens up. i packbonded with him INSTANTLY when he just pulled a wallet-sized pic of this dude's DEAD GRANDPA out... like he just keeps that shit ON him like CONDOMS!!!
they're like a blorbo to me/im mentally ill about them: :0)
i like them enough to project my own issues onto them: TRANS MAYURI TRANS MAYURI TRANS MAYURI. what could be more trans than painting yourself head to toe in drag and having marilyn manson in a little red dress as your theme song
wow! they are a horrible person: this is such a non-take that i forgot to include it the first time and had to edit it back in -_-
didnt get enough screen time: this is a problem for me and me alone but i started watching bleach FOR mayuri at some point and boy was i disappointed when he stopped showing up. and like no interactions with kisuke after it's revealed they knew each other... for shame
they've never done anything wrong in their life <33: mayuri has never done an action i would not GO TO COURT to defend. permissible action only here, boys. this one's certifiable. jokes aside, i feel like even his scenery chewing is exciting and warranted... never did i ever go "damn this bitch annoying, get off the screen" im obsessed.
Tumblr media
vexen is kind of a complicated one for me but i love him dearly
everyone but me is wrong about them/nothing i like about them is technically canon/they are a horrible person: SINCE i have been a vexen stan since i was a fucking baby, what he means to me is a little all over the place... times were different when chain of memories was the only canon data. i had interpreted him as this kind of researcher who had gone to the edge & beyond, risking the lives of everyone around him as he and his fellow researchers INTENTIONALLY took their own lives for the sake of the darkness machine by throwing themselves into it. this was a bomb ass interp! this was how the research logs of COM/1 made it sound!! i was obsessed!!!!... this was before ddd & 3 revealed Other Things To Be True. :/ honestly, i prefer the original interp. i think it makes him way more interesting than what he is in canon: a flaky masterless coward who believes strongly in almost nothing but his work, and even then, can you really say you believe in your work THAT strongly if you have to be forced to throw your heart away???
wasted potential/didn't get enough screen time: see above! SEE ABOVE! but also, i just think most of the org has wasted potential. i go between "let them die" and "give them their own stories" on the daily
they're like a blorbo to me: squeakietoywheeze.mp3 in spite of all that i still love him, i want to brush his hair like a my little pony doll
they got done DIRTY by fans: you could not pay me to read vexen fic <- this is a lie, i read omegaverse vexen fic to my loving husband on the regular. but forreal, interps of vexen range from chucklefucks going "let him die in a fire for the sin of being ugly" to the wildest shit on this green earth. i know he's kind of a blank slate as far as characterization goes but BLEASE
Tumblr media
if they were real i would marry them/im mentally ill about them/i want to carry them in a handbag like a tiny dog: AGHHHHHHHHHHHHHH let fray propose to me in game let me marry him im going to KISS that CORPSE im fishing him out of the river to put him in a wedding dress!!!!!
they work better as part of a dynamic: wol/fray MAKES IT. AUGH. fray by himself is wonderful, but fray as a snark machine sexy ghost is (chef's kiss)
they've never done anything wrong in their life: the murders were justified, actually!
i don't really have much to say about them: it's pure love no hot takes for me. i love this guy. i haven't finished his story yet, also! which makes it hard to have srs opinions

Sometimes its worth thinking about why you do or do not want to engage with some generally popular aspect of fandom - not necessarily to change your mind, or because you're wrong to not like it, but because it can really expose something you didn't realize was going on in your brain, like.
Like, okay, Axel/Saix or Lea/Isa is a decently popular ship in the KH fandom, but not one I've ever really wanted to engage with. It's been this way for years. I'm just not into it - at least as like, a functioning ship. I ship them Exclusively As Divorced, you get me?
And it's like. Yeah, okay, I see why people would be into this, I do, but it's just... I don't know, bouncing off my brain like it's hitting a barrier, or something. But then I started thinking like.. Why? Why am I weirdly resistant to it? So I start going down the list, trying to understand.
Is it because I'm just generally disinterested? I mean, I guess, but that's the question I'm asking.
Is it because I ignored BBS for a loooong time, so spent most of my teenage years thinking Axel was also a teenager and shipping AkuRoku? ....well, thanks for bringing up that mental dissonance again, ugh, yeah that probably contributed, but I don't think I'm shallow enough for that to be all of it.
Is it because I played 358/2 days first, where aside from Xemnas being shady, Saix is like... he's the antagonist. He's the one you largely see actively working against/disliking your faves, he's so mean to them, I was actively primed to dislike him so of course I'm not interested in a ship with a character I dislike? That sounds very solid, but for some reason doesn't seem like all of it.
Is it because I find the "divorced" relationship more compelling? This idea of, like, yes we're reconciling, but something's still fundamentally broken. You could have been the love of my life, but we fucked it up, and now thing's can never be the same again, and even if we're managing to rebuild a friendship we're going to have to live with the knowledge hanging over us. Like, yeah, I find that really, really interesting, but there's still something -
Is it because we're given very little to go on for a healthy version of their relationship, half of which gives comes from BBS which, again, I ignored for a long time. And, you know, because of the above mentioned points, I have no desire to put in the effort to extrapolate out what their relationship would be as a becoming-health-again ship, because I don't like Saix/Isa enough for that, and why would I bother when the Axel-Roxas-Xion relationship is already right there and - oh.
Ohhhh. This is the point where I realized it was never about Isa/Lea. It was always about Axel-Roxas-Xion.
That is, I really, really like the trio's dynamic, their relationship. That's the one I want to see, the one I want to be developed. I want that to be their central relationship, the one they build their lives around. And, yes, you can have both a really important friendship and a romance, but under mainstream romance rules, Isa/Lea would still be a threat to the type of relationship I want.
Because, mainstream, your romantic relationship is the central relationship in your life. Your romantic partner is the one you build your life with, that you share yourself with most. So, under this paradigm, the Isa/Lea relationship would become central or more important, where Roxas and Xion would be relegated as just little siblings, that you love dearly and see regularly, but aren't a part of you the way your romantic partner is. Isn't the partner you're building a life with. And I hated that idea. Hate hate hate hated it.
All of the above reasons for not being interested in the ship are true, but also it's because I want Axel-Roxas-Xion to be the central relationship in each other's lives, like romance is but without the romance, and based on the rules of the culture around me Isa/Lea would overwrite that.
Because really it's been about my complicated relationship with the concept of romance all along. Thanks, brain.
...still ship it only as divorced, though.

That's it everybody's getting little Nate fun facts now
Tumblr media
Awesome Nate art by @/sweet-teath bullet points below cut
I can't remember if I've linked his bio here or not so I'll do that first for basic backstory info (click the folded-over triangle on the top left for more info)
For someone that's worked in the medical field his whole adult life, being no stranger to blood and guts (in real life, they don't really phase him, even), he's horribly squeamish about horror films - yeah, even super campy ones.
He HATES phone calls. Getting them, answering them, being on them, anything. If it wasn't required, he wouldn't even have a phone in his office. He'd prefer a written or printed memo above anything else.
He took his wife's surname when they got married! He was more than happy to ditch his old one.
His favorite foods are pretty much any sort of safe, consistent comfort foods that are easy to make. Yeah he's autistic yeah it's undiagnosed
He's slightly farsighted. It doesn't bug him too much now, but he would need glasses eventually.
His PhD (He's an actual doctor! The title isn't just for show.) is specifically in biomedical engineering. It was a job path that made him feel fulfilled and useful in being able to, hopefully, help others.
He's rather picky about being referred to as "Dr. Schaeffer" by colleagues, disliking being referred to by just his first name or without the title. The only real exception to this, as far as fellow Playtime Co. workers would go, would be that he allows Leith to call him just "Nate."
One job path he considered prior to aiming for his doctorate was that of a writer, potentially a poet. He always had an affinity for poetry and prose. However, he decided against this path for various reasons: he considered himself too unskilled in the craft to turn it into a career, he figured it would be too difficult to make a good stable income off, and thought it would not feel as productive or fulfilling as it didn't directly help others.
Nate has a ton of symbolic objects tied to him within his story, but some of the biggest ones that represent specifically him are the sun, fire, the color red, and ship captains/boats. Probably some more, too, but those are the really big ones.
He's maintained the same shitty haircut for years after (accidentally) having a particularly bad haircut for his wedding - more or less ruining all the wedding photos, though there weren't really all that many pictures, anyways. While he was growing that haircut out, his wife mentioned liking how shaggy it was getting, and he kept it in a similar style from then on.
He never really had much interest in Playtime Co. products, even before learning of the experiments they were doing. He wasn't opposed to them by any means, he just didn't have an interest in toys made for kids. If asked what his favorite toy from them was, he'd eventually land on Cat-Bee.
He suffers from both insomnia and hypersomnia. He's very, very tired. Always. Not much seems to alleviate this.
He has fallen asleep at work before on rare occasions, overworking himself and feeling like there just isn't much reason to go home anymore. It just felt like time wasted to sit idly at home by himself, really. After losing his wife, he lost most of his hobbies and interests as well, anyways.
His gender identity and sexuality are not any further labelled than "man" and declarations of how dearly he loves his wife but, on other occasions, weird offhanded mentions of both female and male lovers in his distant past that he fails to elaborate on. He's the type of guy to mention something really out of pocket about it and move on like he never said anything. He genuinely doesn't think anything of it.
If he was an animal he'd be a basset hound. To me

To say Nerva was surprised would be an understatement. No, it was not the threats or the implied violence that did it. It was the Emperor's speech and the sheer charisma of it. He could sense no lie behind his words except for one... And knew better than to offer loyalty. "You called me honest and weak." He found his voice at last, the words pulled out of him as if under a spell. "That is true, yes. The honesty? Well, if you wish for it." He was intimidated, yes. But he hasn't been killed yet. "While a favour would be a boon, I came here to see what kind of monster you are. Father has his biases and rightfully so. His and my own purpose in this world is to be killed by either you or Varis or Zenos." He looks into his grandfather's eyes, almost trembling with a mix of emotions he did not recognise. "And to add to this litany of insults I have just showered you with, I do not believe your claims of desiring loyalty. If you had wanted it, you'd have made sure my father and I were not disloyal in the first place."
Tumblr media
A wicked smile comes to his lips when Nerva offers what he seldom ever sees: honesty. Solus listened to the young man with no interruptions, interested in hearing his perspective. "Your father and I had bad blood. That I do not deny. I don't seek to defend my reputation -- I have no doubt some things he told you were very true. Yet to know you seek the truth is... admirable, almost."
"Aye, I suppose if I dearly wanted loyalty, I would have given you the means to trust me... but the truth is I need it not from family. You see, no matter which of you I get it from, you only seek to gain from respecting me. What of the common man? I don't raise his wheat. When I die, he does not gain my riches, my houses, my power... if I can entrust someone like that, then I treasure it all the more. I don't spoon-feed you my love because you all would demand it -- expect it. You are nobility, and because of that, when you are loyal to me, you have everything to lose. A common man fights harder for me when they are loyal-- because they have nothing to lose."
"Ah... but I don't deny you your words. I was selfish. I cherished Lucius... yes... too deeply, some said." Solus's tone changes, bitter, and sneering contempt -- but he does his best to recover before Nerva can take notice. "Yet I don't believe your life to be forfeit. Varis and Zenos are his spawn -- but nothing about them is what I saw in Lucius. They are simply strong. Stronger than most..."
"But you are different. I see it in your eyes. You don't have to be strong. You can be cunning. You clearly are smart, observant too, and Zenos lacks much of that -- oh he is learned, believe you me, but he isn't someone who uses knowledge to his benefit. Varis has a problem of simply believing he is above what he knows -- what others teach him he thinks he can teach better. An arrogance I do believe he inherited from Lucius... and Lucius inherited from me."
"Is that what you want then? My reasons? Or maybe you want my guidance? Do you want some leverage against Varis's side?"

Hello, i want to req kazuha x f!reader and if you can do nsfw, please 👉🏻👈🏻 since it's kazuha, maybe he's more like soft!dom. Thank you!
IEHFIEH OKAY OKAY I got really excited about writing this so it's a WHOPPING 3K WORDS! So many words
Kazuha's another Xiao situation for me, it seems...not to mention my favorite to write is very painfully obviously soft doms. That being said, I did make him a little more flirty than his voice lines suggest.
The poem that is referenced in the fic is In the Sea of Iwami by Kakinomoto Hitomaro!
Drowning in You
Summary: At first, you know little of the mysterious ronin's past, but little by little, you find your fates entwined.
Contains: ((NSFW 18+)) Kazuha x afab!reader, soft dom!Kazuha, reader is traveler but not Aether or Lumine, small mention of alcohol, hint of overstim, poetic
How vast, the ocean seems to be, even more so in the dark of night. Above, the sky is a spattered array with thousands of glittering stars, the moon but a sliver. The ship gently rocks in the calm waters as a meager dot upon waves. Despite the moon's position already setting back down along the dark curtain of night and the crew's final decision to retire to their quarters, you're awake.
Lost in all the thoughts of how you've just begun to experience all Liyue has only to now be well on your way to Inazuma.
The dangers that others have spoken of, that you know are to come…you’re sure that your resolve will be tested once more in the unfamiliar land.
The silent repose is interrupted by a voice.
"May I join you, traveler?"
Kazuha.
As you've come to find in the few days you've been aboard the Alcor, the red-dressed man often sits and watches the way the waves roll along the surface of the ocean and the birds soar across the sky. Lost in all that the sea has to offer, there's hardly a moment when he's not tuned in to the whispers of nature in quiet appreciation. Though, you notice, never this toward morning.
Shuffling to the side, you pat the solid wooden deck beside you. He takes a seat with legs folded beneath him.
"It's beautiful tonight—the gentle breeze, the sounds of the water hitting the hull...I fully understand the appeal. But why is it you're still awake?"
Before tonight, you've hardly heard the gentle timbre of his voice. The raspiness—whether natural or from his own fatigue, you're not sure, but a feeling of warmth settles. It swirls, tempting. Breaking your thoughts, you politely meet his gaze.
"Thinking, of everything, I guess."
You pull your knees to your chest, resting your chin on them. Though it’s a warm night, the breeze provides a chill from the ocean.
"Of Inazuma, too."
Kazuha hums in understanding.
Once more, the silence of the ship and sea envelop you to drift back to your thoughts, closing your eyes and forgetting what your handsome companion just stirred in you.
But your mind drifts back to him regardless.
Your heart quickens at the thought of him staring out towards the sea, the sun shining down just right and highlighting pale hair and scarlet eyes.
There’s little doubt that he’s caught your eye, handsome, with an aura of unknown strength. A wanted man, from what Beidou has told you. Forever on the run and far from home. She fully believes there’s no need to worry, but you know others might think otherwise.
They whisper how it’s certain with the breathtaking skill he displays in his swordsmanship that his abilities come from a multitude of experience. Speaking of the way he keeps so to himself. A samurai with a lack of a master.
A ronin.
It’s not surprising, the rumors that spread quick.
Though, you find, the speculation of danger quickly dissipates once the realization of his gentle spirit and knack for poetry comes to light. He’s gentle, you realize. Kind.
It’s hard to believe someone as free-spirited as he would be a criminal.
Kazuha is patient, body turned so he’s facing you while you think, examining the look upon your features. The realization that you’ve been lost in your thoughts about the very man warms your cheeks. You finally speak up.
“And you?”
“Most of the same,” He replies. “There’s no need to worry—about Inazuma, I mean. After what I’ve seen, I trust in your abilities.”
His hand settles atop one of yours. Its touch is warm.
“I may not be able to join you, but I’m sure of this.”
You look back out to the deep blue waters. But he doesn’t move, not until you look back into eyes the color of the very maple leaves he dons.
Expression serious, Kazuha leans closer. The skip in your chest worsens the heat that creeps up your neck and cheeks. But as quickly as he does, he pulls away, his hand returning to lay in his lap.
“Away I have come, parting from her / Even as the creeping vines do part. / My heart aches within me…”
Wistful, he recites, and turns his gaze to the moon.
“A poem, from my homeland. Bittersweet in it’s meaning. Whether he sees his lover upon his return—it isn’t known.”
“Do you? Miss someone?”
He chuckles, shaking his head.
“Not quite in the same way. A friend. Though I can’t help but wonder what it’d be like to have someone like that. Someone to hold so dearly within your very being that the thought of being without them brings physical pain…”
A hand lifts, pressing to his chest as if trying to feel for heaviness.
The two of you watch the night for a bit longer in silence.
As your long and arduous journey dwindles, you find yourself seeking Kazuha’s company more and more.
Unbeknownst to you, he does the same.
Most often, it’s between duties on the ship, arms leaning against the wood banister as you both watch the waves and birds as they meet in swoops. They glide with wings tucked, diving into the murky waters, soon to break back through with a prize.
An osprey, he tells you.
The pleasant bird-watching comes quickly to an end before you’re both swept back into work until late afternoon when the crew gathers to drink and celebrate.
After all, there’s only a few days left until you finally dock at your destination and the night is beautiful and clear.
You find Kazuha tucked away towards the quarterdeck.
With everyone else scattered on the main deck, the two of you are left alone with the waves and wind.
“You’re not going to join them?”
He looks up from his drink, setting it down before rising. Despite the way the sun has set, you can clearly see the mirth dancing in his eyes. Kazuha stops a few inches away from your face with his head tilted in question.
“Weeks we have known each other now…should I be offended that you’re still asking that?”
Clearly the unimpressed look on your face is enough to make him chuckle and apologize.
“No, I won’t be joining them. Not when I’d rather stay away and have you to myself instead.”
You flush and give him a little push. Again, he laughs and apologizes but you know that he doesn’t mean it. Regardless, you brush past him to sit where he was before, patting the deck in a way not different from that first night. All the same, your heart skips a beat.
“May I join you, traveler?”
A smile spreads across your lips. “Of course.”
So he sits and the two of you find solace in the little conversations you have.
It’s nice, to have someone to be close to, to share interests despite having backgrounds so distinct. He offers you a bit of his drink and you take a sip, holding it between both your hands. The face you make, he decides, is unforgettable just as it is hilarious. But his innocent enjoyment only lasts so long.
A dribble of the deep liquid beads at the corner of your lip.
You miss the way that his attention flicks to the way your tongue peeks out to catch the glistening drop.
Kazuha shifts, eyes flicking from your lip back down to the cup in your hand.
When his hand touches yours, guiding you to place the cup down, you snort. But he continues so he can interlace your fingers with his, to hear the way your breath shifts and sees how your pupils dilate when you realize the difference in his mood.
Would you mind if he were to…?
When your lips part and your eyes lower to his, he gets his answer.
"I hear the way that your heart beats loudly in your chest, your breath bated...” Really, his own hammers in his chest, louder than the crash of waves against the ship’s hull. He squeezes your hand.
“Just as I can feel your desire."
And truthfully, you know he’s noticed the way your gaze lingers on him. How when you two accidentally brush hands that you don’t immediately pull away. Not anymore.
Small flashes of little interactions with him come to light.
Finally, he leans in, and you find that his lips taste of the lingering bitterness of wine, tongue sweet as it laps at yours. He looses himself in the velvet of your lips and how they seem to meld to his so perfectly, the music of your sighs filling his senses and your heart beats like the rumble of the ocean.
To know what it’s like to hold someone so dear…this must be what that is.
Languid, your lips move against each other’s, reluctant to stop. Under the light of the maroon sky, you’re cloaked in the warmth of his body against yours.
When he finally parts, you’re laying against the deck with him hovering above you.
“I don’t want to regret this—the mere thought of being apart…”
He brushes a stray hair from your face, fingertips tracing over the curve of your cheek.
“Even if it means I will be risking my life, I will follow where you go. Destiny has made its mark, so who am I to break it?”
How can you refuse, seeing the sincerity of his vow, trusting the very man you met and befriended and come to love in a few weeks’ time? To know his gentle nature, the way that he seems always so aware of the world around him, the carefree way he approaches all he does—you’d known, somewhere deep within, that the moment he asks to accompany you, you’d selfishly say yes.
But it’s all too much to express in word, so you pull him down to meet you, desperate and yearning.
It’s easy, natural, the way that you melt into each other, fumbling as he helps you stand up—to make your way to his quarters between kisses.
The others still are above deck celebrating, unaware of the blossoming bloom between you, the private quarters void of anyone else. The door to his room swings open as soon as he turns the knob and you take him by his lapels and pull him inside.
The door closes with a soft click.
Setting you down upon his berth, he meets you for another kiss before beginning the tedious task of undressing. Even in a hurry, he carefully folds each article, ensuring their safety. When he turns, you’re left bare as well, looking at him through halfmoon eyes.
In his lungs, his breath is caught.
You’re beautiful.
So he says it in word and in the way that he guides you to lay with his body between your spread legs.
You utter his name, cupping his cheek. He leans into your touch while you guide him back down to you. It takes little for him to follow your movements, drawn in like the sweet song of a siren.
He claims you in the kisses peppered over your lips and jaw, dragging down to dip in the hollow of your neck. Beneath him, your pulse jumps and your neck flexes. So he continues, reverent. Pledging loyalty with every brush of his lips against your skin.
Yours, all yours.
Busied with the sensation of him, you relax, offering yourself to his touch. His unbandaged hand travels over the soft planes of your body, cupping breasts and hip, careful as it travels to press fingertips into your thigh. It lingers, so close.
The feel of your hand timid on his chest encourages him to explore the sensitive skin of your inner thigh before finally, finally tracing along your wetted cunt.
“Please—”
His fingers tease, sliding up and down along it, making you shiver beneath him. A sight to behold, one that makes his heart sing and stutter at once. And they draw out a shaky moan when they press into you.
He takes his time in the movement of his fingers, coaxing you with a curve and the dulcet tone of his voice in your ear.
Left with his name on your tongue, your arms wrap around his neck, wanting him closer, closer. He obliges. All you want in this moment is him—impatience running quick.
Kazuha is taken by surprise when you take him into your hand, marveling at the way his hips press closer to your touch.
It’s strange to be touched this way, even with his past experiences. How it feels to be caressed by you so intimately, just the idea of it being you beneath him, touching him, him touching you. He wants more of it. And so he bucks into your hand with hot desire coursing through his veins.
For a while, the two of you delight in each other’s bodies.
When he draws his fingers from your core, he doesn’t bother with the way your slick clings to his skin, replacing your hand around his cock with his own and propping himself up with legs kneeled and hips slotted between yours.
With bated breath you observe as he gazes into your eyes.
Even so smoldered with desire, they’re impossibly clear and gentle, reflecting the very swirl of emotions you feel with every thump of your pulse. Leaning closer, Kazuha brushes his lips to yours, slow.
“You’re trembling—are you cold?”
The room feels fine despite your state of undress, though he continues before you can speak.
“Allow me to warm you up...”
When he finally kisses you deep, his hips press into yours and fill you.
The ship sways, each rock back and fourth amplified with how he holds you close to him, how he whispers sweetly in your ear and describes just how good it feels for you to squeeze around him like that. Once more you’re swept into all he gives you.
Kazuha thrusts, every movement deliciously slow. The brush of his cock against your walls makes your eyes flutter and your lips part with every gasp.
Every sigh draws him in deeper. Slow, fluid.
With the ebb and flow of his movements, you find yourself lost. He is the raging tempest dragging you down to the murky depths yet is the same gentle wind that cools you. You’re lost in the way that he moans your name in your ear and hips barely pull away from yours before burying back deep.
You—spread beneath him with your legs bent to his sides—in the dim light drives him. Kazuha finds that no matter where he looks, how close his body is pressed to yours, it’s never quite enough. Every sigh that’s drawn from your lungs is the voice that calls to him to wander.
He’s mesmerized.
Each push stirs that need in you for more, coming to life in the way that your body arches to meet his. Almost…as if feeling him against you is your lifeline—a deep, unyielding need. The same strange feeling that he knows is coming to life within him. And with how you so sweetly grasp at his shoulders in your hands, he’s certain it is.
His arm slides down, hand flat against your lower back to lift your hips. Eager, you comply. A few strokes of his hips with the delicious drag provided by the new angle, and you cry out in whimpers.
“Right there—please, please-“
Murmuring your name, his lips press to your ear and his hips speed up as he searches for that spot once more. He’s good—feels so so good.
A kiss to your temple accompanies the quick build of the knot deep in your abdomen, pulling taut and teasing your release.
“Where should I touch you?” The croon of his voice calls.
You guide his hand between your writhing bodies, a shock of pleasure jolting when the pad of his finger brushes against where you’re most sensitive. Only moments pass before your vision flickers, body tensing and a choked moan escaping past your ruddied lips.
It’s too much—his careful movements to hit the right spot and the way his fingers trace over your skin and he finds himself lost in the feeling as well. The lingering feeling of your high sends shocks with every movement he gives, both of you left trembling. Shaky hands try to grab at his chest and arm, pulling it away.
He stills, just holding you close.
He can feel it again, the flutter of your pulse, when his lips pepper kisses along your jaw and neck to bring you back to him.
Finally back from your high, Kazuha carefully slides from within you in lieu of laying by your side. You’re still breathing hard when careful movements pull the blanket from the foot of the bed over both of your forms. With an arm draped over your now covered hip, he smiles soft.
The wind howls outside.
"Do you really mean it, Kazuha?”
He lifts his arm so you can turn onto your side, looking up at him with your head on the pillow. It’s cute the way the soft material forms around your cheek. But you’re still waiting for his answer.
The ronin simply places a kiss on your forehead, the warm brush of his lips punctuating his words.
“I will follow you til the day the sun ceases to shine—so long as you are by my side, the wind shall blow and the tides ebb. This shall be my vow to you...”
It isn’t until your expression relaxes, lulled to sleep by his warmth and the gentle rock of the ocean, eyes closed and your breathing even that he speaks once more. It’s quiet, save for the creaking of wood and the faraway shouts of the crew above in their revelry. Here, laying besides you, the feeling within his chest carefully tended to, Kazuha finds a new purpose. A newfound desire.
“…whom I love with a love / deep as the miru-growing ocean.”

if fans wanted to include peach in stuff they write, would that be okay? and how would they write peach's personality? aside from "FIGHT ME" anyway, i think that much is a given lol. i only really write the anime characters 'cause that's what i know, but it sounds like it'd be kinda fun to try making a version of ash that fits into this blog's universe! nerf'd Obviously, but i think she'd probably appreciate how hands-on he gets when training his pokemon!
Ok, I get a lot of these messages, and I often hear folks wanting to throw peach into their stories and comics and writings, and I will always simply ask that if it’s published online publicly, to be linked to it so I can snoop and enjoy the content too. If someone asks about her in your work, let them know about the blog I guess? But literally I love that people take this stuff, these characters and stories, and make new stuff with it. No ones making money off my work here? So where’s the issue? Go for it buddy, knock yourself out, I’m all for it.
For you, and all the others out there who want to add peach, and other characters to your world building, I will give you a detailed rundown of the main lot, and how they behave, what they do, how they function. You can use that, use bits, or use none of it, I do not mind at all. If you’re creating something, you’re in control, not me.
So, peach doesn’t actually fight people as much as you’d think. She’s very aware most cannot and do not want to do that, and so she likes to keep to herself with regards to that aspect of her life, she doesn’t ask to spar with people, or even bring it up at all, but people ask her all the time, even if they clearly would lose or become hurt should she miscalculate during the fight. She looks at people like they usually create problems, and often has a somewhat reserved nature to other humans. You have to work quite hard to get anything more than formalities out of her. She will dead-pan handle people with blunt and very to-the-point statements, aid whenever possible, but very quickly get back to handling the Pokemon she so carefully tends. Her focus is clear, she’s all about hard work, her very small select family, and the Pokemon.
Her brutal, loud and brash personality only comes out with friends, family, difficult humans, OR any Pokemon. She will joke and laugh and play with Pokemon, but clam up around humans, maintaining tight body language and generally will be a little cold by regular standards. She does however have some weaknesses in this emotionless shield she puts up. When peach was young she was always angry, which swung so fast to sadness, back and forth. Her teenage years it just got worse and worse, it was crippling at points. She is to this day, full of fire and rage, even sadness, but now she has learnt to control it, to use it. When she sees that in others, it’s familiar, and she is pushed to drop the front, and be very real with the person. Underdogs I suppose, people who get bad reps, but deserve the same as everyone else. She can’t ignore it.
Once you start to pry open her personality, you’ll find she’s a lot more laid back and fun than originally appeared, you just have to work hard to find that side of her. She will meme reference, can’t dance to save her life, loves her coffee, and can be caught in quiet contemplation while gardening. This hobby is her calmest, and often is why she can stay so level headed when her quiet rage boils up again. Without time outside she will become grouchy, a little snippy, and lethargic. Will not go in the ocean for any reason other than life or death, is fine with ponds and rivers, or water at wading height. Likes the rain.
With regards to her training others, they usually have to tolerate her somewhat strict nature. She is a little....unforgiving, holds a grudge if you make a lot of mistakes, and has no tolerance for ignorance in the age of information that we all live in. In previous posts I’ve mentioned she’s only recently selected two students, after many years of testing kids who want to learn from her. Hundred tried out, only two have ever been approved. How she teaches is very fast paced, be prepared to get some scrapes and bruises, she will test your physical and emotional tolerances with intense tasks, carefully watching students like a hawk. Bad posture in your stance? She’ll be the first to tell you to sort it out. Not hearing your Pokemon partner? Right, now you spend the day without using words trying to communicate, let’s see how you like not being listened to.
This is a woman who has spent her life saying very little, and watching everything, she watches Pokemon and can see an issue from a mile off, and in battles, her observations are why she can react fast, and chose effective strategy to avoid damage and achieve results. Don’t let her body fool you, her strongest asset is analysing, watching, planning. Those skills have over the years transferred to people too. As a student, mistakes don’t go unnoticed with this professor.
Her methods are harsh but fair, and should you prove yourself, she will protect you with her life.
Because of her disinterest in kids and lots of noise, she does pass the training of students on to the other staff members whenever possible. Grey takes on the lions share of battle lessons, he is far calmer, more open and friendly, with patience for people, and an empathy that peach sometimes struggles to have. When you go through a lot of harsh training, and difficult events, it’s hard to change how you feel or think, with peach, well, she’s been through it. Most do not come out the other end in one piece, but she did, and it made her strong. You may think I mean strong like buff and big, and yeah sure she is, but I mean it mentally more than anything. Peach will not quit. She has learnt to destroy the boundaries that stop people getting hurt, gone is the fear that freezes you in your tracks, that feeling that you’ll pass out if you go one more step. She’s learnt to ignore it.
This means she’s a little forgetful at how it is to be normal, to be vulnerable and soft and squishy like students so usually are.
She has her issues, but for the most part, visitors get a laugh, a smile, a calm assertive confidence, and facts. She will indulge those who have genuine interest, or show a connection with nature, an understanding of the balance that needs to be struck for everyone to live well together.
Despite her many flaws, she’s fiercely protective, and will go above and beyond to defend the island, it’s staff, the Pokemon and the visitors. Injustice is her biggest gripe, along with littering, and she doesn’t stand by quietly if something happens that seems unfair.
You will not see her without Valka, her vulpix, close by. That Pokemon doesn’t like to be touched by strangers, at all, and will run the second someone comes at her with that intent. Peach will scold you for pushing yourself onto her, should you persistently try to get close to pet Val. They are in sync, if peach is sad, Val is sad, if Val is stressed, peach is stressed, and so on. They are inherently connected, it’s just been that long, the psychic bridge between them has been built, and reinforced over the years.
The only other Pokemon who follows her so endlessly is Booker, a teddiursa who’s pretty rough looking. He quietly trots behind, grouchy and stoic, they fight closely together a lot. He lost his mom a long time ago to poachers, and peach took him in, and changed her whole life for him. Not many people know, but Booker was the reason she left the rangers, changed career, and got so strong. Will tolerate people petting him but isn’t keen at all, grumbles a lot and tries to move away.
You may also need to know about the others, for the sake of writing, she here a few more bits that may be important to you, or others wanting to do this.
Grey is very tall, very burly, composed, tells bad dad jokes, is a bit of a goof if allowed to be. If he sees a pun, he’ll say it. Can’t help himself. Very nice guy to work with, good at keeping people calm and grounded. Pokemon are drawn to him like a moth to a flame, he gives off warm energy, and has inhuman amounts of patience. If you wrong his family however, he will snap back.
He grew up in the city, loves to swim and hike and cycle, can snowboard, is really sporty. A total brain box with held items, and boosting stats. He will explore many paths, to make sure visitors and students get the information they need, in a way that can be remembered and retained for later. Is a huge guy, but will get on the floor to play with a tiny Pokemon. Treats big “meaner” looking species like babies, very good with all pokemon.
His free time is spent either tinkering, swimming, or trimming his bonsai trees. This guy stares at screens a lot, so appreciates time away from them. Peach built him his own little greenhouse for his trees and tools, which he keeps clean and loves dearly.
His methods as a teacher are built around fun and games, he makes hard work easier to do by distracting trainers from the difficult bits, and focusing in on something more interesting or compelling.
His most commonly seen Pokemon would be a houndoom, Saxon, old battle veteran, retired now to herding and being a good boy. Very gentle, loves a pet.
Pari, now a fully fledged nurse, often oversees the labs front desk and pokecentre features, such as healing pokemon, and informing trainers who come to visit. Her skills with eggs and hatchlings is high, she’s great with younger Pokemon, and hands out good advice to trainers a lot. She’s not a fighter, never was, but can find any file, any study, any book, and any refrence you may need. A true bookworm, loves her romance novels, chat shows and upbeat celebrity gossip mags. Will cry at a lot of stuff, be it sad or happy.
She’s got a seriously upbeat personality, but if caught off guard or shocked, she gets a little flustered. Too much chaos will overwhelm her, but usually she’s on top of things. The years spent on the island have made her better at maintaining composure in emergencies. With lots of siblings, she’s very competent with others, and has a good ability to disarm cagey people with her jolly nature. Because of this, she can sometimes gain information from trainers that some of the more harsh professors may not have access to. Charming is a word for it.
Her partners are an eevee, and a happiny. They are quite sweet and well adjusted, the eevee gets a bit bouncy if you get it too excited.

Viscount, Anthony Bridgerton was known for many reasons. The Bridgerton family was wealthy and highly respected in the ton. Many mothers wanted to marry off their daughters to one of the Bridgerton brothers, but of all Anthony had the worst standing. He was dashingly handsome, very prominent and certainly well educated, but his reputation as a rake preceded him.
When the news of your engagement surfaced, even Lady Whistledown wrote of you with a great deal of respect namely as the woman who tamed one of the wildest Bridgertons. You just laughed it off, but deep down you felt somewhat proud. You have been friends from a very young age and since your families have had a long and close relationship, it was inevitable to grow close to the siblings. In your teenage years, however, you fell for the man’s charm and humour, even his brooding moments. Although his proposal came as a surprise, knowing your relationship was always stranded at the stage of a friendship, when he kneeled down in front of you and asked for your hand in marriage, the amount of pure happiness you felt made you feel like you were walking above the clouds.
Hurrying down the stairs, you held onto the side of your dress before attempting to fall face down, but your clumsiness seemed to be greater as you accidentally let your dress fall on one side. Your own foot tangled up in the hem of your dress and the weight of your body pulled you dangerously close to the ground. In fear, you closed your eyes, heart pumping dangerously against your chest, anticipating a painful and loud landing, However, before you could have encountered the most embarrassing moment of your life, a strong arm locked around your waist, pulling your back against a hard chest. At first you didn’t dare to open your eyes, you squeezed them shut, afraid of your saviour’s identity, but the significant cologne reminded you of one very important person.
Turning around in his arms, you opened only one eye, peeking up at your hero. He wore an adoring, lopsided smile as he shook his head disapprovingly. You scrunched your nose as you opened your other eye and rearranged your expression into an innocent smile, trying to mask your embarrassment.
“I take it you were in a haste to see me?” he asked, his deep voice holding a humorous tone. Indeed, his arrival sparked such curiosity in you that you couldn’t possibly wait a second more to slow your steps and descend down the stairs as though a lady should. You have barely spent a couple of hours apart, but there you were missing him endlessly, involuntarily bringing out a giddy little child within you. The love you felt for him couldn’t have been more obvious and whilst you attempted to act less transparent, it never seemed to work. Anthony wasn’t an oblivious man, nor were you the best actress of the ton.
“I was simply heading to the drawing room,” you replied nonchalantly, trying to convince him that for once his presence didn’t affect you as deeply as he already knew.
“I’m quite certain the drawing room is upstairs,” he huffed playfully. Indeed, the previously mentioned room was upstairs and making yourself look as though you were a fool didn’t seem to help your case.
“I was thirsty,” you quickly added, hoping to stop Anthony from questioning you any further.
“Should you have called the maid, she would have brought the drink to your room,” he added, his smirk growing slightly, enjoying your foolishness.
“Anthony Bridgerton,” you called his name in a warning tone, earning a heartfelt laughter from the man, knowing you have reached your patience. Although you have not been married yet and only announced your engagement a week or so ago, you were very close to one another, hence the reason his arm around you for longer than appropriate didn’t seem to bother you nor him. Your father loved the eldest Bridgerton brother greatly even though he knew of his reputation, therefore he didn’t mind finding you alone with him, but he never failed to mention keeping a distance until you were married.
“I apologise, but you were never a good liar,” he chuckled at your failed attempt to mask your love for him.
“I know, I’m well aware of it. But exposing me is very unfair,” you pouted in the least lady-like manner. Crossing your arms in front of your chest, you steadied yourself on the stairs, Anthony’s arms leaving your body cold after his warm embrace.
“Why is it unfair?” he furrowed, slightly confused about your words.
“Because you know I love you. You know I love you very much,” you replied with a saddened expression as you started heading down the stairs. “It’s not funny when I clearly know I am making a fool out of myself in front of you,” you shook your head, disappointed in your own behaviour. Whilst you knew Anthony cared for you dearly, you always felt as though your feelings were deeper, stronger. Sometimes foolish thoughts ran across your mind, ones that tried to convince you Anthony didn’t love you the way you wished he did, that he might have only loved you as a friend from his childhood, someone he was used to being around.
Anthony quickly headed after you, grabbing your wrist as gently as he could, halting your steps as he turned you around to face him. “What are you talking about? I love that foolish, careless personality of yours,” he said, his tone slightly confused. “Have I done something to you?”
“I know being straightforward about such a subject is meant to be rude, but you have known me for years, Anthony. I need to know something, and I would like you to answer honestly, please,” you almost begged the man as he stood in front of you, his eyes wide in surprise, your seriousness unfamiliar to him.
“I’m always honest with you,” he added.
“Thank you,” you let a small faux smile spread across your face as you heaved a deep sigh, collecting the courage to ask your question. “Are you marrying me because my father asked you to or was it you who asked him for my hand?” you questioned, knowing he never talked about the arrangements between him and your father. You always felt safe and secure around him and falling for him happened from one day to another, it was inevitable for you. But for him, you couldn’t decide when and what changed. At once, he appeared in the drawing room with a bouquet of red roses and kneeled down in front of you, proposing to you, promising happiness forever. You were too happy to question his intentions then, but as the days passed as though your insecurities resurfaced, you couldn’t possibly think about anything else, but the reasons behind his sudden interest in you.
You furrowed at the long silence, tears collecting in your eyes at the realisation, chest weighing a ton. Anthony didn’t speak, he didn’t confirm it verbally, but you understood. The engagement wasn’t his idea to begin with and it all started to make sense. He never tried to kiss you, touch you in secret, he never tried to act as though you were lovers. Knowing it was inappropriate shouldn’t have stopped him, his time as a rake wasn’t a secret after all, he was a passionate man.
Gulping loudly, you took a step back, removing your wrist from his hold. “I didn’t mean to hurt you,” he spoke up finally, his voice filled with guilt.
“Should you have told me, I would have understood and stopped making a fool out of myself,” you replied, your unshed tears finally escaping down your cheeks. Heavy weight settled in your chest, your air seemingly stuck in your lungs, suddenly the mere thought of Anthony caused you tremendous amounts of physical and emotional pain.
“You misunderstand, I-” he tried to explain himself, but you didn’t give him the chance to and cut him off.
“But do I?” you asked with tear-stained cheeks and bloodshot eyes as you fought against the loud sobs trying to escape your lungs. “You have accepted my father’s request to marry me! I never wanted to feel pitied, I never wanted to feel as though I could only marry out of an arrangement. I confessed my feelings for you, Anthony,” you sobbed loudly. Anthony reached for you to hold you, but you pushed his arms away and took a step back. “Do you understand how terrible it is to realise that the man you love pretended to be interested in you because of a mere agreement? Anthony do you realise?” you emphasised your words, but instead of speaking his mind, he stood in front of you gaping silently as though he wanted to say something, but not a word nor a sound left his lips. “Please, I’m begging you, leave now,” you whispered in a weak tone. Attempting to look less of a pitiful woman than you already felt as you walked around Anthony’s stunned figure towards the garden.
“I can’t leave. Please listen to me,” he turned around, calling you after a moment of silence, but you pretended to be deaf to his words. “Please!” he hurried after you as you exited the mansion, the warm rays of the sun warming up your body. The door closed behind you loudly, but within a second Anthony followed you out to the garden. “You must listen to me. It’s a misunderstanding,” he tried to convince you.
“No, it isn’t,” you replied in a firm tone, not wanting to hear any excuses from the man you made a fool out of yourself for.
“You completely misunderstand,” he tried to explain himself once again, but you didn’t let him continue. His excuses were more painful than the thought of him having no feelings for you.
You stopped in your spot, turning towards the eldest Bridgerton brother with a stern look on your face. Anthony hasn’t seen much anger from you throughout the years, but the pain you were harbouring in that moment scared him. He never meant to hurt you, he wanted a chance to explain his side to you, but the look across your usually happily glowing eyes now held darkness.
“Talk to my father, Mr. Bridgerton. I wish not to marry you anymore,” you clenched your jaw, your tone holding pure disappointment against the man who you loved so dearly. “Should you want to continue with the marriage, I will make your days miserable from your very first, to you very last,” you whispered the last part of your sentence, warning the man of your wrath.
“I will not break the contract!” he replied firmly without hesitation in his voice. “I need you to listen to me carefully,” you were about to stop him, his words angering you even further, but he didn’t let you interrupt him. He was determined to explain himself. “I’m quite certain I had a choice in the matter, I could have very well said no. You have been my friend for as long as I can remember, and I treasure our friendship. Do you really take me for a man who would want to hurt those he loves intentionally? I don’t love you as a mere friend I grew up with. I love you as a man loves a woman, as a husband loves a wife. I intended to ask for your hand in marriage, but your father seemed to be quicker than I could have even asked.”
“Why should I believe you?” you asked, voice softer, heart filling with hope. You wanted to believe him, his words made you hope, feeling foolish once again, but words didn’t mean as much as actions.
“Would I ever lie to you? I certainly didn’t mention the agreement, but regardless of that detail, my feelings are genuine,” he hesitantly stepped closer to you, hoping you wouldn’t turn and run away from him. As you stayed still, he dared to continue. “I have never lied to you and I don’t intend to start now. Should you question my intentions, I understand, but that will not change my feelings for you,” he took another step closer, your firm stance lighting a slight hope within him, but the fear across your face made him cautious.
“I wish nothing more than to believe you, but I confessed my feelings for you, and you have said nothing,” your voice hitched as you tried to stop your loud sobs from escaping. “I was a fool for you, but not once did you try to hold me, kiss me, make me feel as though I meant more than a mere friend, as though I was a woman in your eyes,” you replied as your eyes filled up with tears, glistening as you gazed at Anthony. His scoff surprised you, his unexpected reaction making you confused.
“I wanted to. I want to. I want to hold you, kiss you, touch you, I want to wake up beside you,” he heaved a heavy sigh, biting his bottom lip. “I’m trying to be a gentleman, but you are not helping my situation. Do you think it’s easy for me to sit beside you, hold onto your hand and smile as though I was an angel? I’m not an angel,” he groaned almost painfully. “I wish nothing but to pull you against me, pamper your neck with kisses, ran my hands across your body and taste your lips on mine” the passion behind his words, the low, dangerous tone he used to speak to you left your cheeks flushed, your lips parted in surprise. His eyes were dark, determined, his whole posture dominant. “I wish I could turn it off and on, because it makes me mad how much I want you,” he added as he took another step closer, forcing your back against the cold wall of the mansion. You couldn’t possibly focus on anything, but the feeling of his chest flush against yours, his darkening eyes watching you eagerly, his irregular breathing slightly tickling your lips, your stomach twisting into a knot.
Shaky breaths left your lungs, voice nowhere to be found. You wanted to stand on your tiptoes and attach your lips to his. You wanted to know the feeling of his mouth against yours, the taste of his lips. Those couple of inches between you never felt more unnecessary.
“My lord,” you spoke in an uncertain tone, whispering those words you barely ever said to him. “Show me how much,” he swallowed heavily as the words left your lips, his jaw tightened as though he was in physical pain from trying to control himself. Involuntarily, but he leaned closer, his hot breath lingering above your parted lips. “Please,” you added in a whisper, placing a hand on his cheek, caressing his skin with the tip of your thumb as you licked across your lips in anticipation.
As though that was the last piece of thread holding him back, he broke under your spell, wrapping his arms around your waist and closing the gap between your longing lips. There was no hesitation in his movements, he leaned down to meet your lips as though his life depended on your kiss.
Wrapping your arms around his neck, he deepened the kiss, awakening thousands of butterflies in the deepest part of your stomach, fluttering, flapping their wings, sending your heartbeat into a dangerous speed, weakening your knees. You couldn’t possibly imagine the feeling of being kissed, you weren’t experienced in that matter, but your body reacted involuntarily to Anthony as though you have been craving for something you have not known.
Anthony’s hand wandered up to the back of your neck, pulling you closer, even though you didn’t realise it was possible. His lips felt soft against yours, addictive, completely capturing your whole being. He didn’t need words to convey his feelings. The way he held you in his arms, his body engulfing yours, keeping you safe from anything or anyone who could possibly hurt you, his actions spoke for themselves.
He hinted a small peck on your swollen lips, before he left another and another, making you smile in content.
“Should you question my intentions again, I will have to repeat that,” he chuckled, slightly out of breath. Your eyes wandered to his lips, eagerly wishing for him to repeat his actions, wanting to feel his inviting lips on yours.
“I’m unsure of the right answer,” you breathed, attention completely captured by his plump lips. The dazed look across your face made him laugh loudly, throwing his head back, not being able to contain his happiness. His laughter brought a content smile across your face as you watched the man you loved in a blissful moment, his mere laughter filling your chest with a warm feeling.
“Do you believe me now?” he asked as his laughter died down, however, his lopsided grin didn’t disappear.
“I wish to say that I do, but-” once again your gaze found his lips, vivid memories of them attached to yours clouding your mind. “then you would not repeat- that,” you breathed in uncertainty, cheeks feeling hot in your embarrassed state.
“Would you like us to repeat that?” he chuckled with a mischievous smile. “Would you like me to kiss you once again?” he asked, slowly running a hand down your arm, leaving goosebumps after his trail, before linking his fingers with yours. No words could possibly leave your lips, an uncertain nod was the only sign of your agreement. He smirked proudly at your stunned expression as he started off in haste towards the back of the mansion, lightly pulling you after himself. You frowned at his actions, feeling oblivious as to what he was planning, before he gently shoved your back against a hidden wall, wrapping an arm around your waist, stopping his movements for a second. “I love you and I want you,” he whispered against your lips with shaky breaths, but a loving and warm smile on his face. “I will show you how much on our wedding night, but until then,” he smirked, before meeting your lips half-way, stunning you for a second, before you melted your body with his, wanting to feel him as much as you could for now.

[Image Description: An Undertale chat box that has “WHY FANS LOVE UNDERTALE” at its center. Next to it are a line chart and an Egg from the Dating Hub on its left, and a CRIME measurer (also from the Dating Hub) on its right. End I.D.]

[Image Description: a pie chart titled, “LEVEL OF LOVE FOR UNDERTALE.” The textbox on the top right reads, “On a scale of 1 to 10, 1 being the least and 10 being the highest, how much do fans enjoy Undertale?” From the top going clockwise, 12 or 0% chose 5 and below; 23 or 1% chose 6; 98, or 4%, chose 7; 325, or 12%, chose 8; 529, or 20%, chose 9; and 1664, or 63%, chose 10. End I.D.]
It’s clear from all of the data analyzed so far that fans who took the time to answer our survey love Undertale. It is unlikely that they would have taken the time to answer so many questions if they had not, and even less likely that they would have come across our survey in the first place. Naturally, it comes as no surprise that 63% of our responders gave their love for Undertale a score of ten out of ten. 95% gave their love for Undertale a score of eight or higher, and only 12 responders responded with five or below, a number so small that their responses had to be lumped together to be visible on the pie chart. Of those, only 3 responders gave their love for Undertale a score of 1, and based on those responders’ other answers, it is likely that they were only intending to troll. We are very fortunate that the vast majority of responders took the survey seriously, enough so that responses like this are barely a blip in the data.
Now, for our final analysis post of the event, we will delve into the reasons that fans love Undertale so dearly.
(Essay and highlights under the cut.)
There have been countless essays on the impact that Undertale has had on people’s lives. I can hardly add more on the subject than what has already been said, but I hope this summary can provide a brief overview of what stood out among the over two thousand answers given in response to this survey. That said, due to the sheer volume of answers, I could not read every single one in depth—however, I did skim all of them, and some that stood out or were representative of several responses have been highlighted below. If you would like to see what every fan who consented to share their response had to say, you may view the full list of responses here. Note that these responses have not been edited in any way. This document may take a long time to load, as it is over 100 pages long.
(Warnings for mentions of suicidal thoughts in the following essay.)
Several responders loved the theme of choices mattering in Undertale. Whether people played the pacifist, merciless, or neutral routes, they enjoyed how the game reacted to their actions. For some, it even made them consider their own morality. One touching response explained the impact that the theme of mercy made on them. “I realized that Mercy isn't something that's given to those who deserve it. Flowey didn't deserve it. I don't deserve it myself. Shoot, we ALL need Mercy in our lives.” Many fans left similar comments about how the themes of Undertale made them better people.
Undertale changed how its fans treat others, and it also changed how fans treat themselves. The theme of staying determined and the messages of hope in the game were a light to a very large portion of fans. I cannot list all of the fans who said that Undertale helped them out of a dark place, or that they would not be alive if not for Undertale. “DETERMINATION became a metaphor for not killing myself at a really rough time in my life and I’ll always cherish that. Undertale isn’t afraid to go to really dark places but at the same time holds on so tight to its hope.”
Undertale brought fans together in unexpected ways. Some said they met friends or significant others through the fandom. “I wouldn't have met my now husband without Undertale,” one fan said. A different fan who is non-native English speaking mentioned that the game and the fan community helped them to learn English.
It would be impossible to discuss Undertale without mentioning the fan community. Whether for good or bad, many responders mentioned the fandom in their responses. Overall the feelings towards the fandom seem positive, though many made references to “toxic” parts of the fandom without specifying which parts they consider toxic. Others rejected the idea of toxicity in fandom. One response said: “[SLAMS FIST ON DESK] I KNOW MOST PEOPLE SAY THE FANDOM IS TOXIC AND CRINGE OR WHATEVER BUT OH MY GOD. The Undertale fandom, both the UTMV and the actual UT fandom, has been so much fun to be a part of. I've met countless friends because of our shared interest in something related to the game! The art people create can be breathtaking and so inspirational, and the fanfics are so so good!! I've seen people write incredible things for this fandom and it's what made me continue writing!”
One thing that makes the Undertale fandom unique is the way it embraces various AUs. Some fans are tired of AU content, but the majority of responses show a love for the creativity behind AUs. “Roll your eyes at the 50th AU Sans all you want, it's encouraging people to step outside the boundaries of fanart and pushing people to make their own ideas! I mean, hell, it was how I gained the confidence to start making my own original content.” The lack of a judgemental atmosphere seems present in the AU community, according to the responses we saw. There is an interesting balance between AU and canon (sometimes referred to as “classic”) content that another responder pointed out: “The fandom helped keep the game alive all these years, with all of its AUs. Although personally, I always enjoyed AUs that kept characters as close to the classic material as possible (dancetale, outertale) I do appreciate the creativity of the fandom. They almost created entirely new stories with new characters of their own! If it weren't for those people, the Undertale fandom would have probably not been as active as it is now. I do feel like we're getting a resurgence of classic content now too! (In 2021)”
Regardless of the many AUs the fandom has created over the years, the original game of Undertale still feels like home for many fans. They wished they could reclaim the feeling of playing the game again for the first time, but even though we can’t reset time in real life, there is still a special feeling for fans each time they play Undertale. One fan said, “Even the best fics I've read can't capture that feeling of nostalgia/almost-"coming home" that comes with hearing the music and talking to the characters.” This feeling is one that can be cherished time and time again. In the words of another responder: “It always feels welcoming like home or like comfort food that I never grow tired of no matter how many times I go to it.” Others pointed out the strength of the found family trope in Undertale, which likely contributes to this feeling of “home” as well.
As mentioned briefly earlier, the music is part of what makes Undertale feel like home for fans. Even when responses focused on other aspects of the game, many would throw in a comment about the soundtrack at the end. One comment focused on the music said “IT'S SO GOOD like I will literally go through the entire thing over and over and not be bored with it. It makes my monkey brain so happy you have no idea.” Like with the game itself, the music has incredible replay value, an amazing feat considering most of the tracks use the same few motifs. “I think what I like the most about Undertale is how the music attaches you to the story,” another responder said. “They're simple melodies that stick with you throughout the whole game, and they can remind you of both good and bad times.”
If the music sticks with fans in their hearts, then the game’s lore sticks with fans in their minds. Even six years after the release of Undertale, fans are still creating new theories and digging up new secrets. The way the game breaks the fourth wall in particular intrigued many fans and has stuck out through all these years. The awareness that the game shows for the RPG genre makes it memorable. The game plays with the player’s expectations and turns them on their heads, all while reminding the player that they’re in a game. There are few other games that do this on such a large scale, so it’s no surprise that fans cite this as one of their favorite things about Undertale.
Lastly, the LGBT+ representation in Undertale has been a huge draw for fans. Especially in 2015, the sheer volume of non-cishet characters was unprecedented, as one fan pointed out: “It's practically unheard of to see so MANY from just one source, especially during its heyday in 2015-16. Hell, you can't even GET the true pacifist ending without helping two gay couples hook up. It's really nice to see all of them being accepted for who they are and not judged for their sexuality or gender, at least in-canon.” The LGBT+ cast including Frisk, Chara, Napstablook, Monster Kid, Mettaton, Alphys, and Undyne each connected with fans in unique ways. It’s clear how important this is from responses such as: “There are canon nonbinary characters 🥺. i have never seen representation of myself before.” “It made me gay and trans so thanks for that.”
Once again I am overwhelmed with just how much there is to say about Undertale. One responder really understood when they compared Undertale to an iceberg, explaining that there are so many layers to the game that there is something for everyone: “everyone can find something to enjoy in the lore/game regardless of what kind of fan they are! Being able to appeal to various types of fans—from simple happy shipper people to deep dive lorediggers—is the mark of the coolest games!” I would have to agree with them.
It’s been six years, and despite everything, it’s still you. Thank you for reading, participating in this survey, and above all, staying determined.
Highlights:
DETERMINATION became a metaphor for not killing myself at a really rough time in my life and I’ll always cherish that. Undertale isn’t afraid to go to really dark places but at the same time holds on so tight to its hope.
I think the coolest thing was having the opportunity to watch the AU community grow from its bare roots. It's nearly insane how big and complex it's gotten, unlike anything I'd ever seen before. Roll your eyes at the 50th AU Sans all you want, it's encouraging people to step outside the boundaries of fanart and pushing people to make their own ideas! I mean, hell, it was how I gained the confidence to start making my own original content.
i love how the lgbt rep is so naturalized... there are just gay people! and its nobodys business!
The music is my go to answer, but what I really really REALLY love is how the minor characters have so much personality to them when you talk to them. They aren't incredibly important to the overall story, but they're all so likeable and diverse that you just can't help but like them immediately!
I think it was the first videogame I have played that broke the fourth wall that much. Of course there has been other videogames that broke it but just for one or two tongue-in-cheek jokes. The guilt of killing mama goat was also something intense as well that I appreciated as an experience and that I didn't think a videogame could cause on someone.
I love how no character can be seen as completely bad! Everyone builds up Asgore as some horrible villain, but he turns out to be a 'fuzzy pushover' who's broken and just wants his family back by the time you meet him. Then you think Flowey's an irredeemable killer who engineered the suffering of the monsters across many timelines, and he is... but he also used to be the kind and beloved Prince Asriel Dreemurr, traumatized by his death and subsequent rebirth, projecting his best friend onto you.
The fact that choices matter in the game. Your first playthrough and getting the golden ending for the first time. I can never replicate those feelings again, wish I could erase my memories and replay the game from the start.
I wouldn't have met my now husband without Undertale.
(Toxic parts of the fandom aside) The community is possibly one of the kindest I've ever met. Cringe culture is completely dead, and I feel like I can be myself. I felt a very close connection to many of the characters, and I loved consuming content about them when I was in a rough patch in my life.
just everything, the whole game has just impacted my life so much. i know it sounds really lame, but when the game first came out, i would purposely put my hands in my pockets and sway slightly, like sans' idle animation. of course i dont do that anymore haha, but undertale still really impacts me to this day, and i wouldnt have it any other way :)
it made me gay and trans so thanks for that
I realized that Mercy isn't something that's given to those who deserve it. Flowey didn't deserve it. I don't deserve it myself. Shoot, we ALL need Mercy in our lives.
The thing I love most about Undertale is no matter how many times I play or watch a playthrough it always makes me genuinely happy. It always feels welcoming like home or like comfort food that I never grow tired of no matter how many times I go to it. Toriel still makes me feel all warm and cozy in her home, the Skelebros always make me laugh, and I still cry on the inside watching Frisk comforting Asriel. And on the flip side the No Mercy run still invokes the negative emotions in me as well. In short Undertale just feels like a second home to me and I always wish I could stay.
The reader inserts are my favorite way to decompress after a hard day
I think Undertale helped me discover my love for 8-bit games, and made me realize how IMPORTANT music is in video games.
the worldbuilding and character design are my favorite parts of the main game apart from the music! I’m also a huge fan of the random AU music- not for like underswap or underfell i like the stuff where someone makes a megalovania for a random au where gru from despicable me replaces sans as the character. i think its funny
Just... the vibe, honestly? Even the best fics I've read can't capture that feeling of nostalgia/almost-"coming home" that comes with hearing the music and talking to the characters.
there are canon nonbinary characters 🥺. i have never seen representation of myself before.
[SLAMS FIST ON DESK] I KNOW MOST PEOPLE SAY THE FANDOM IS TOXIC AND CRINGE OR WHATEVER BUT OH MY GOD. The Undertale fandom, both the UTMV and the actual UT fandom, has been so much fun to be a part of. I've met countless friends because of our shared interest in something related to the game! There's a scene where Frisk (the player) is going towards what is presumably going to be their death. They will fight Asgore and he will use their human soul to break the barrier and free his people. The music, despite the player's impending doom, is... triumphant. You are not the triumphant one here, and yet, the score invites you to experience the monsters' joy and happiness as they tell you the tale of their subjugation. The monsters are going to be free. This is their victory, but they don't hate you or want you to die. They're just... happy. That scene has always struck me very deeply. I feel it represents the best parts of Undertale.
I loved how well thought out the Geno route was. It really made me feel like I was doing something horrible, and the characters were very obviously reacting to dire circumstances.
I dunno? I like Undertale for it's characters, story, music, secrets and many more. I am not good with Headcanons but I also like the neutral endings and how different they can depending on who you spare and kill
I was very bad at english before, i thought i couldn't progress because i was very shy and not confident. But my sibling and i wanted to have the best experience with this game so we wanted to play it in english. It's this game and the fandom which helped me to make huge progress in english !
THE SOUNDTRACK. IT'S SO GOOD like I will literally go through the entire thing over and over and not be bored with it. It makes my monkey brain so happy you have no idea.
to avoid writing an essay i will say one word. Mettaton
It is like Toby specifically made the games to fit the iceberg meme and it's awesome, everyone can find something to enjoy in the lore/game regardless of what kind of fan they are! Being able to appeal to various types of fans - from simple happy shipper people to deep dive lorediggers is the mark of the coolest games!
I love almost everything about Undertale as a game on its own. The music, the art and especially the characters and how they interact. They made me feel at home. Undertale means a huge amount to me. (I even got a tattoo of the castle when you and MK walk together!) The fandom helped keep the game alive all these years, with all of its AUs. Although personally, I always enjoyed AUs that kept characters as close to the classic material as possible (dancetale, outertale) I do appreciate the creativity of the fandom. They almost created entirely new stories with new characters of their own! If it weren't for those people, the Undertake fandom would have probably not been as active as it is now. I do feel like we're getting a resurgence of classic content now too! (In 2021)
the mystery. toby fox refused to give answers to anything and i think thats very sexy of him.
I just feel guilty for liking it so much when I'm in my 30's. But I recently got diagnosed with ASD, so I guess it explains things a bit. Many ppl consider Papyrus to be neurodivergent, and some adult fans are too, so seeing that makes me feel a bit better.
i think about "Despite everything, it's still you" everyday of my life.
I like how it's just as funny as it can be serious. All routes are this way. I laughed as much as I cried when I played the Pacifist route and then once I opened the game again and Flowey was telling me to let them be happy, I immediately turned off the game. I somehow felt bad.
The Found Family Trope
The True Pacifist Ending is just...man. And the fanworks about saving everyone even when the game doesn't let you? MANNNNNN
I think what I like the most about Undertale is how the music attaches you to the story. They're simple melodies that stick with you throughout the whole game, and they can remind you of both good and bad times.
there's honestly a LOT to love about this game, but i think one of my favorite things about it is just how many lgbt+ characters there are??? i can think of alphys, undyne, frisk, chara, mettaton, napstablook, monster kid, asgore, mad mew mew, the dress lion, the royal guards, and arguably even papyrus off of the top of my head, but im sure i'm forgetting a few from just undertale alone (there's even MORE in deltarune)!! it's practically unheard of to see so MANY from just one source, especially during its heyday in 2015-16. hell, you can't even GET the true pacifist ending without helping two gay couples hook up. it's really nice to see all of them being accepted for who they are and not judged for their sexuality or gender, at least in-canon.
