Sizeshift Prompt

Maybe even Size-Switch? Lately, I've been writing down a ton of G/t story ideas that I write for in my free time~ Just to try them out and see if I can complete any, particularly combined with my fandoms. Here's one that I'd like to share and can be considered a prompt free to use, as simplified as possible for more creative freedom: A giant tries to defend their human/smaller friend from a magic user who is targeting them (any the reason, justified or not). The giant gets hit by a spell and winds up proportionally small as their friend once was to them. And now the two have to adapt to this new situation, possibly learning a lesson and growing (heh) from it. It's essentially a size swap story, with the human staying the same but trying to accommodate their former giant friend as they learn about each other's perspective in relation to each other, and the giant copes with seeing the world in a much different light than they're used to. Will they be able to change back?

Alternatively, it can be a literal size swap where the giant becomes 'human' size and the 'human' becomes a giant. Or any other variation that inspires, of course! The idea just interested me as most size change premises do and I'm curious how others would go about writing it. best trope is the one where the character’s godlike power is also killing them btw. they don’t even lift a hand to kill the monster but now they’re delirious with fever. they save a friend’s life and said friend immediately finds them emergency medical care. they raze the enemy to nothing and it takes far too long to find their pulse with all the bruising. their friends just constantly having to patch them up and worrying over which feat will be their last. et cetera
