do yalls ever wonder how hard seth’s death hit matt?? like in the books tho they weren’t super buddy buddy they’d definitely got along ya know? and i definitely can’t see how matt who was living with seth for about at least a year wouldn’t be affected by his death and this hurts me cause tho they weren’t close they were still roommates and first and foremost, brothers to each other. His death defo hit matt one of the hardest behind allison and wymack and that hURTS TO THINK ABOUT

Of course 002 Sethkate!! (if no one has beaten me to it yet :P) Also 002 Kastle!! & 004 Firefly/TWD!!
Thank you for all the asks, @alwaysupatnight! 💖💖💖 I will get to your last two tomorrow.
SethKate Ship:
when of if I started shipping it: This is a hard one, because I fell more in love with them as the show went on, but the first time it went beyond “this would be great to see explored, but I doubt the show is going to ACTUALLY go there” to “OH THIS IS A REAL THING, ISN’T IT?” was probably Season 3. Seth was fundamentally changed by her death, and then watching him struggle with the hope he could get her back?! I WAS ALL IN AT THE POINT. The table scene aka “Fuller Family’s Least Favorite Drinking Game” (credit to @fortysevenswrites for the name) was probably the first time I went, OH THIS IS NEAT, YES PLEASE though.
my thoughts: see my whole blog
What makes me happy about them: EVERYTHING. The messiness, the comfort they are uniquely able to give each other, the way they actually SEE each other (looking past the surface, they both hide and use behind the snap judgements other people make about who they are) the values they share, the way they challenge those values in each other and how that makes them both stronger and better people.
What makes me sad about them: tragic backstories are tragic, and they both have that in spades. All that trauma does bring them closer together, but honestly, I think they would strongly connect with each other even if they both had significantly less bad happen too.
things done in fanfic that annoys me: I back out of a fic with a daddy kink, it’s just not for me! Um, sometimes Kate is too naïve or passive, and Seth is too soft and well adjusted. LOOK, he clearly enjoys being a jerk at times? It’s a hobby of his, to push buttons, even with people he loves. I’m not saying he’s not all heart, because that boy is a mess of emotions at the best of times, but let him keep his edge too please.
things I look for in fanfic: PARTNERS, Kate healing after Season 3, their different experiences in life and love being explored, uncomfortable honesty bringing them closer together, and TOUCHING are the big ones that come to mind right now.
My kinks: PARTNERS IN CRIME, SAVING THE WORLD, bringing different skills to the table in a way that compliments each other, bickering and standing too close to together, Seth teasing Kate, Kate giving as good as she gets, Seth being so damn impressed by her, Kate seeing the good and bad in Seth and loving him anyway, touching, Being Married AF before they even knew they loved each other.
Who I’d be comfortable them ending up with, if not each other: After season 3, no one else.
My happily ever after for them: Well, I feel strongly about their twelve daughters now thanks to @alwaysupatnight, but as long as they have each other’s backs and are together, I’d be happy with whatever comes next for them.
who is the big spoon/little spoon: I think Seth is more clingy in bed, so I’m going with Seth being the big spoon. Kate doesn’t mind it at all, just to be clear.
what is their favorite non-sexual activity: I doubt I can top @fortysevenswrites straight to the point “crime” but I do think they would also just enjoy hanging out together, one on one . And since their family get togethers will always be a bit hectic, they deserve some solo together time. Take some vacations or road trips please.
Kastle and Firefly/TWD Crossover under the cut!
Kastle Ship:
when of if I started shipping it: I thought the had a ton of potential hospital scene where Frank says he would talk to “her” (they both sold that instant connection in way I don’t think I’ve ever so quickly believed before or since) but what pushed me into really shipping them was the diner scene, when Frank was using Karen as bait. The way they just clicked, and the fact that the longer they talked the more you could see they actually LIKED each other, and were realizing that themselves.. And the fact that it was very inconvenient on the timing for both of them just made it even more interesting for me.
my thoughts: Show was real interested and invested in their relationship, even if we didn’t get a lot of it. Clearly meant to be endgame.
What makes me happy about them: That spark of hope they light up in each other is just so neat. Though they are both extremely practical people when it comes to weighing the odds of things going well (and seeing that those odds are stacked against them) but it just makes that hope all the more special.
What makes me sad about them: What little I’ve seen of the Karen/Matt stuff makes me kind of sad on her behalf, and Frank and all his baggage is obviously pretty heartbreaking.
things done in fanfic that annoys me: I don’t read enough Punisher fanfic! I would hate for them to read as OOC just for the sake of a romance, but that’s true of all ships I ship. If they had kids, if Frank doesn’t have a ton of mixed emotions about it, I wouldn’t buy it I guess.
things I look for in fanfic: I enjoy reading a Frank who’s all in on the relationship! No waffling or messing around, he’s made his choice (if not his peace) on this. Karen being central to plot stuff is always fun, too. Get her out there investigating stuff!
My kinks: specific to them? I really like when they have to actually talk and address stuff, what’s happening between them, and what they want to happen. I think the show does a great job with them both being very aware of the situation they find themselves in with unspoken communication, but if they are going to go for it, give me some talk before things get to far along, please. ALSO, Frank being impressed by Karen, Karen not pulling any punches feelings wise, kindness to each other.
Who I’d be comfortable them ending up with, if not each other: I don’t know, I guess theoretically either of them could be happy with someone else, but I don’t really think it would be anyone we’ve met in the show. And this is assuming Frank continues to make progress towards a more balanced life, obviously. I don’t think he would date anyone while actively being so consumed with being the Punisher.
My happily ever after for them: Up until the very last episode of Season 2 Punisher, I actually didn’t think a happy ending was possible for them? I was fine with it, there was always a bittersweet and practical quality to their connection that I actually enjoyed, But then we got to see Frank finally being proactive in rejoining the living instead of just flirting with the idea of an after, and now I think it could work, the two of them, figuring out how to be together, and what happens next.
who is the big spoon/little spoon: I’m going to say Karen is big spoon, cause I think Frank is in need of some serious cuddling.
what is their favorite non-sexual activity: Lazy Sunday mornings reading the paper over coffee, and hanging out with the dog/dogs they’ve adopted.
Firefly/TWD Crossover OTP:
A tough one! I am not good a creating couples, I just judge want I see normally  🤣. BUT, I could see Kaylee/Shane working for me, honestly. She would definitely give him a much needed dressing down when he needed one, and he would benefit A LOT from someone actually caring about him, and Kaylee is really great at caring for people. I think he would do better in her world than she would in his. Shane would fit right in with the morally ambiguous crew, and TWD world is just too damn bleak to deserve Kaylee.

So, no secret that I love the crime fam (My OCs Morgan and Seth plus Obake and @barely-nok 's Kei.). Love them to death!
Which inspired this fic chain, with my fic here and her sequel fic here and now this nice in between fic.
More crime fam stuff coming, but have some Morgan annoying Obake for the hell of it
"Hey." Obake ignored the Morg-squito buzzing in his ear, waving her away.
“Hey. Hey, Bob.”
“Don’t call me Bob.”
“Hey, Bobert. Mr. Aken. ‘Bake.”
“Only Kei is allowed to call me ‘Bake,” Obake said, matter-of-factly, tilting a glare towards Morgan.
“Fine, I won’t use your precious pet names, if you’ll pay attention to me.”
“What could you possibly need my attention for? You’re a grown-ass adult with your own mind. Don’t you have anything better to do than badger me?”
Morgan thought about how her life partner was currently working and robbing a DJ Parasite concert and then she shook her head, “Unfortunately, I do not.”
Obake let out a frustrated sigh, “Morgan. How much do I pay you to be here during the day, doing your little hacker tasks?”
“That is a very condescending way to describe my job, but you pay me $35 an hour.”
“Right, and that’s more than fair, for the job you do, during the day, when you’re supposed to be here. But now it’s night time, and I will pay you $300 to leave.”
“Ooh, tempting. Bribery. That’s always fun. That’s how my real dad gets me to talk to him, isn’t that funny? My real dad has to pay me to talk and my fake dad is trying to pay me to shut up.”
“I am not your fake dad and I am not trying to pay you to shut up. But if I were paying you to shut up, would it work?” Obake asked, reaching for his wallet.
“Oh, gosh, no. I make enough from my day job, thanks. Have you eaten dinner yet?”
“...I have not.”
“Were you planning on eating dinner?”
Obake opened his mouth and then closed it, and Morgan came over and draped an arm around his shoulder.
“Ah, Seth gets the same way, so invested in work they forget to eat. Don’t worry, I’ll be the responsible one. I’ll go get us some food, be back in a minute.”
“Or you could go get yourself food and not return until your shift tomorrow?” Obake suggested.
“Don’t try to shut me out, Bob. I know how to pick locks.” GoGo had taught her that one.
Obake pressed his lips together, “Fine. I’ll eat dinner with you. Then will you leave?”
Morgan stopped to really think about it and then nodded, “Sure.”
So that’s how they ended up having a picnic in the middle of Obake’s living room. And really, it wasn’t so bad. Morgan talked too much and he would never fully understand why Kei had deemed Morgan one of “her people.” Seth certainly made more sense, Seth was… Well, normal wasn’t the right word for any of the “crime fam” but Seth was certainly more of Obake’s kind of person and Morgan was definitely… Not.
“Seth will be back soon from the concert anyway,” Morgan said as she gathered up their dinner trash, finally realizing she’d overstayed her welcome, “I like to be there when they get home.”
“I’m glad Seth has someone looking out for them,” Obake said, and really, he meant it. Seth deserved a partner who cared as much about people as Morgan did.
“I’m glad Kei has someone who loves her as much as you do,” Morgan said with a smile, finally leaving.
Obake settled in for the night after that, noticing that his wife didn’t come home right away. Hm. Hopefully, everything would be alright...

Live reactions to S3E5 of Misfits below because... I dunno, slapping it all under a cut is probably less annoying lol. :’>
- Is it bad that the opening scene made me think of Jamie? Jamie and Seth look like that could’ve been buds. Like a biker gang or something.
- I find it really interesting that Kelly, even with a guy like Seth, is still putting up walls and giving him the aloof act. I appreciate the consistency (rare in Misfits lol) but aw man, it is kinda sad, isn’t it? I get it, though. Poor thing. I think Seth/Kelly is a little left field but I do hope she has a happy ending with this one. Kelly deserves happiness and so does Seth.
- I keep telling myself not to compare Rudy and Nathan but omg... the little awkward lean against the support beam... Nathan does that when Simon catches him and Alisha spying on him. And then the two condom thing... I know I’m being ridiculous here and they aren’t the same character at all, but I’m gonna have to make a parallels gif set. I just know it. I can feel it. It has to happen. It was awkward at first because I missed Nathan, but the more I see of Rudy, the more I like him. He’s grown on me.
- I feel like production value went way up during this season.
- EXCUSE ME??? WHO??? TELLS THEIR GIRLFRIEND, WHO IS IN A COMA, THAT YOU’RE LEAVING THEM? YO, DUDE, I KNOW IT’S HARD TO SEE HER LIKE THAT BUT C’MON. You!! Don’t know!!!!!!! That she can’t hear you!!!!!! Maybe she can!! YOU CAN’T! oml
- I like how Kelly’s first response to seeing a patient in trouble is to calmly and slowly walk into the room to ask them if they’re okay (when they clearly can’t speak because even if they weren’t in a coma, they do have a tube down their throat) instead of immediately finding a nurse or pressing the alert button.
- Wait this hurts.
- LOL I... really love how Simon just deals with Rudy’s weird stories. That’s cute.
- O h? Is that grafitti some Bad Wolf-esque foreshadowing?  👀
- Wow. Lauren Socha is such a good actress??? What the heck. I’m gonna have to watch her in something else. I need to know if she has range.
- ...This isn’t mean, I love Kelly’s shape, but there’s no way Kelly can fit in Jen’s clothes.
- Not a fan of this weird tension that happens occasionally between Curtis and Simon. I think it’s IC for Simon to be a little jealous, I like that he still has his insecurities, but it’s a little annoying when it’s directed toward Curtis. I dunno. I guess it’s fair given that he’s the ex, but I don’t like it.
- Kelly looks great in a leather jacket.
- OOOH gosh. Sometimes, man... sometimes Simon gives this look and does this thing with his body language that’s just SO scary.
- ...As much as I dislike Curtis’ power, I think Alisha’s has to be my least favorite of the new powers. I wish Simon would use his foresight more, too.
- Something about Simon watching Freaky Friday is really funny to me.
- How many times are these idiots gonna have to sneak out bodies. They’re professionals at this point.
- Bahahaha Shaun is so nonchalant. Random coma patient in the communtiy centre? Just another day.  I love him.
- WAIT NO SHAUN NO WAIT NO!!!
- NO?????????????????????????????????? NO?? NO!
- I’m not gonna think about the legal issues with what’s-his-face pulling the plug instead of a nurse. Or like... how they’re gonna explain that Jen’s body is there at the community centre. Or how the gang is gonna get away with security footage of them stealing a body from the hospital (which there would have to be, there’s no way they didn’t get caught on camera). I can’t go full clown. This is Misfits. 🤡
- Also I totally thought they were going to grab an animal or something off the street and then give it to the boyfriend or parents or something to take care of so Jen could live on at least for a while longer as something else than die. I don’t know why I thought that. It just felt like it’d be on brand. Don’t @ me LOL. (I’m glad I was wrong; I think it’s a much nobler end for Jen to own up to what she did and have her goodbye.)
- That is totally some Bad Wolf-esque forshadowing. And clearly slapped on in post!
Final thoughts:
Not a bad episode. I liked it well enough. It was entertaining and this one got a few laughs (for some reason Seth saying “Hi” and Rudy going feral at him got me). I don’t have too much to say about it, really, it’s a pretty standard episode. So far I think Peter’s episode is still my favorite just for the more superhero-y hijinks, but this ep had some really nice protective Simon moments and I really enjoyed Seth. The music was pretty good, but the Misfits soundtrack is always killer.
I hate that my only big note is a complaint, but... I’m finding it really hard to connect with the characters this season, even the OGs. I get bursts of it, primarily with Simon and Rudy, but overall something just feels wrong. No one except maybe Curtis feels OOC and yet? Something about the characters is off. It feels like I’m looking at an alternate universe where everything is the same except for some itty bitty detail and I can’t place what it is. And before anyone says it, no it’s not because Nathan isn’t there lol. He was the heart of the series for me, but I don’t think his absence is what feels wrong. It’s definitely something about the writing or within the remaining characters themselves.
I? Almost want to say that it’s an issue of the gang not feeling like a family anymore? They don’t feel as close. I know Misfits has always primarily been about hijinks and outrageous plots, but I almost wanna say that S1 and S2 had more focus on character relationships than S3 so far? We get a little more into the nitty gritty of Alisha’s relationships with Simon, Rudy, and Curtis (even though her “problem” with Curtis in E2 made no sense) but besides that... it just doesn’t feel like we’re getting the meat that we did in S1 and 2. Granted, that is two seasons versus one.
Oh yeah. And RIP Shaun. I knew he was gonna die but I didn’t expect it so soon. That sucks. I think that his death would have been sadder if the show hadn’t exposed his grosser aspects, like how he creeps on girls and... he’s just kind of a skeevy perv. Which, I know most of the male characters in this show are perverts to some degree, but it works better for everyone else because they have some redeeming qualities that make them more endearing and their faults more palatable. Shaun doesn’t quite have the endearment factor to pad out how uncomfortable he was in E2 and E4 (making him into a villain for E4 was a bad move too). I think if he had shown just a hint of really caring about the gang, even privately, then maybe I’d be sadder. Oh well. He’s still the best probation worker. I’ll miss him.
Anyway, anyway. Enough complaining. One last good thing: Rudy continues to grow on me. I am so intrigued by how he handles his split (how his splits handle each other?). I feel like I need to come up with a better term. But that’ll do for now. I really, really hope that Overman doesn’t just sweep all those issues under the rug. It seems like he did that with Rudy and Alisha’s relationship (which is a bummer!) and I think it’d be so cool for Rudy to either find peace with that inner conflict or at least be able to better cope with Rudy One and Rudy Too so they’re not always squabbling. Love Rudy, though. Him and Nathan would’ve butted heads to be the funny one, I think, but good friends after a while. Oh, the terror those two could have caused...

Send you a character impressions ask: Arthur Morgan (so you can talk about your soft cowboy) and Seth Gecko, Kate Fuller, and... OH let's hear about Daryl Dixon too!
Seth Gecko
First impression: I’d never seen the movie okay. I didn’t know what to expect from him at all!! I honestly wasn’t sure I even liked him that much until like that scene where he punches out Chet at the Twister.
Impression now: THE TRASHY AF LOVE OF MY LIFE. I have so many feelings about Seth Gecko it’d be impossible to list them all here. I think about him nearly every damn day.
Favorite moment: I think it’d have to be in s3 when he’s trying to stop Kate from going after Amaru  with the shotgun and how he’s like “easy, easy” at her for getting too riled up. XD SHE IS RUNNING HEADFIRST INTO DANGER ALREADY AND HE IS TRYING TO PROTECT HER. But there’s honestly so many favorite moments. But also jfc that shotgun... all the phallic symbolism there. 👀
Idea for a story: SO MANY IDEAS. THEY JUST NEVER STOP. My latest one is this one where he and Richie are both coyote shifters. And I’ve had this idea for YEARS, but I’m just starting to explore it now.
Unpopular opinion: Seth is not the smooth mfer everyone thinks he is. He is awkward and dorky af and just really great at hiding that. XD And he is not adventurous in bed. AT ALL. HE DOES NOT WANT ANYTHING UP HIS ASS ALRIGHT. Unless, of course, if Kate is suggesting it…
Favorite relationship: SethKate obviously. :P
Favorite headcanon: SETH HAS A PRAISE KINK. LBR HE LOVES TO BE BOSSED AROUND BY KATE. HE JUST WANTS TO DO A GOOD JOB.
Kate Fuller
First impression: MY SUN AND STARS. I thought she was precious. Although maybe that was me projecting on Madie because I loved her as Ethel in Shameless so much. I really only watched FDTD because of her.
Impression now: MY SUN AND STARS. I LOVE THIS GIRL SO MUCH. UGH. JUST HER HEART. HER GOODNESS. HOW PROACTIVE OF A CHARACTER SHE IS. HOW SHE’S ALWAYS LIGHTING A FIRE UNDER ALL THE BOYS’ ASSES BECAUSE WITHOUT HER NOTHING WOULD EVER GET DONE. She’s definitely one of my favorite characters of all time now. I love that she’s not afraid to go toe-to-toe with some supernatural assholes (and a couple of regular ones too) even though she is TINY. She is cute, but she WILL FIGHT. I just love that about her so much. And how every action of hers comes from a place of love. But she’s not perfect, and she may be good, but she is NOT nice and WILL ABOSLUTELY WRECK YOU.
Favorite moment: There are so many, honestly. idk how to pick. But I love during the Mexican Honeymoon how she’s giving Seth so much shit for bungling the bank heist and then making excuses later. She’s not just gonna sit and take it okay. She’s giving him an earful about it and he’s gonna LISTEN DAMMIT.
Idea for a story: Well, I already mentioned the coyote shifters thing… There’s also the Yellowstone road trip thing I’ve been working on. And then the two alternate scenarios of Seth running into her at Jed’s that @yossariandawn persuaded me to write that we were coming up with ideas for yesterday. XD So I started working on a couple little ficlets for that. One where Kate is shackled, and another where Seth walks in on Richie and Kate holding hands during the blood bond, and it’s an awkward little parallel to the Twister “you show me yours, I’ll show you mine” bit. XD
Unpopular opinion: idk that this is an unpopular opinion necessarily, but some people don’t like to acknowledge or just don’t realize how much of a shit stirrer she really is!!
Favorite relationship: Sethkate.
Favorite headcanon: Okay, so I’ve definitely mentioned before that I headcanon that she is a Cancer sign. But after learning more about astrology, I think she’s definitely also an Aries moon. She can be really impulsive when she’s emotional, and she’s also got an anger streak lbr!!
Send Me a Character!!
Arthur Morgan
First impression: SERIAL KILLER!! Literally the first video I saw of someone playing him he was running people over in Saint Denis with his horse and racking up a huge bounty on his head. XD I really thought this game was just Grand Theft Horsey. :P
Impression now: LISTEN. I AM STILL CRYING OVER HIM THREE YEARS LATER OKAY LEAVE ME ALONE. XD
Favorite moment: There’s lots, but one of my favorites is in this scene with his friend and French artist Charles Châtenay where he’s watching a brawl break out at an art gallery over some risqué art that Charles painted. Charles gets a beating and Arthur is just laughing at him and being entertained by it all. XD I LOVE HIS LAUGH THERE SO MUCH. ONE OF THE FEW TIMES HE ACTUALLY ENJOYS HIMSELF. ARTHUR DESERVED HAPPINESS.
[Here] is a video if you wanna watch that scene for yourself. XD
Idea for a story: I did have an idea for a kind of time travel/fix-it fic that is also an Arthur/OFC story… I probably won’t write it now, but it’s like after his death in the game he time travels to the present day because of this talisman he got from a Native American chief and he meets a woman named Emma and they fall in love and get married and are expecting their first kid. BUT THEN. EMMA GETS SENT BACK IN TIME TO BEFORE THE BLACKWATER CATASTROPHE. AND PAST ARTHUR DOESN’T KNOW HER. BUT HE FALLS IN LOVE WITH HER ALL OVER AGAIN. lmfao it’s complicated which is why I never actually wrote it because I couldn’t figure out how to tell that story… But it was supposed to be like Outlander in reverse kinda...
Unpopular opinion: MARY LINTON IS TOXIC AF AND ARTHUR DESERVED BETTER
Favorite relationship: I think that has to go to Arthur & Hosea. THAT’S HIS REAL DAD OKAY. IDGAF. I just love how patient he is with Arthur, even if he teases him sometimes. It’s always really affectionate and playful. And I didn’t really ship Arthur with anyone in the game, but if I did it would’ve been with Charlotte!! I loved their scenes so much!!
Favorite headcanon: He didn’t actually die… and he lived out his days to the age of 100+. He was around for the invention of microwaves and television and pop music. He and Jack hung out sometimes and they celebrated the release of Jack’s first novel together. lmfao
Daryl Dixon
First impression: Umm I think I thought he was kinda cute. XD Him throwing the squirrels at Rick was funny too.
Impression now: idk I stopped watching that show years ago. But when I quit the series, he and Beth were my everything so I know I had a lot of feelings about him.
Favorite moment: The white trash brunch and “Oh” scenes. He was just so soft and open with Beth. He was TRYING.
Idea for a story: I don’t write for that fandom anymore and never will again. But I did have a couple stories in the works though. One was a ZA fic where he and Beth are married with a newborn at the start of the apocalypse and it just follows the first few episodes with some changes because it’s also set a few years later. And another story I had was a singer!Beth au where she’s just getting famous and is dating Daryl and they have to keep their relationship a secret. And there were definitely fights with paparazzi planned. lol And a lot of sneaking around.
Unpopular opinion: I can’t think of anything.
Favorite relationship: Bethyl. There was a quote by NR where he said something like when Daryl loves, it’s for life? I still maintain that there will never be anyone else. Even if there is later in the show, there isn’t. lol
Favorite headcanon: That Merle is actually his biological father... lol

I’m so excited you’re doing prompts!! Seriously you’re like one of my most favorite writers on here! Your ideas are so original and I wish I could write like you! But anyway I’ll stop fangirling over your writing for a sec and request #14 with josh or mat?? You’re the best 😊
Thank you so much for all your kind words you’re making me smile and blush! I picked Josh because apparently I like writing about him a lot
---
It all seemed so innocent and fun. Dinner at Seth’s place, with Josh and Boone and Cam and Zach and Zach’s girlfriend Odette. A welcome to the new season thing, with the core group of people you spent last season with. You started out as Josh’s plus 1, but quickly became your own person, getting invited to stuff even when Josh wasn’t coming.
“I need a partner in crime, here,” Odette had said with sparkling eyes, but it was mostly Seth, that actually became your partner in crime.
Because Seth, for all he was a hockey player, turned out really smart, or at least observant, because it only took him a few weeks of hanging out with you to notice how stupidly head over heels you are for your best friend.
“Why don’t you just tell him?” his advice had been, but obviously that was dumb advice, so you’d decided to ignore him.
Ever since then, Seth has been the one you go to when Josh is dating around and you need to eat your sadness in ice cream, or when you’re angry because you can’t get yourself to like the cute boy from work.
He’s also the one that kicks you against the shin when you’re being too obviously fond.
Like right now.
You’re not even the one talking; Boone is talking about something that’s wrong with his car, which you honestly could not care less about if you tried, but Josh is staring at you with his chin resting in his hand and his hair tucked behind his ears and his eyes wide and kind, and it’s all just a bit much, so you’re not even surprised when you feel the sharp pain of Seth’s foot hitting your leg.
You turn around to face Boone, hoping your cheeks don’t turn too red, but then you feel something else against your leg.
Definitely not Seth, this time.
You try to ignore it, because Josh is like an overexcited Labrador in the way that he only gets encouraged by attention and being ignored is like a smack to the face for him, because being the center of attention is like crack to him. But when his foot starts to inch higher, travel up your calf and towards your thigh, you snap your head in his direction.
His eyes are twinkling with mischief and he raises an eyebrow at you, just barely.
“Stop playing footsie,” Seth says sharply next to you. “If you’re gonna be like this, you’re helping me in the kitchen.”
Josh actually, audibly whines and you narrow your eyes at him to try and scold him silently; however, he just widens his big blue eyes and it’s really astonishing, the thing Josh has in common with your neighbor’s Labrador puppy.
You’re a strong woman, but even you have your limits. You stand up so abruptly your chair nearly topples to the ground and you ignore the smirk on Josh’s face.
“I’m gonna help Seth in the kitchen.”
“That’s my girl,” Seth says with a smile, which for some reason turns Josh’s puppy eyes into a frown.
“No,” he says, “that’s my girl.”
If your heart wasn’t such a God damn betrayer, it wouldn’t flutter the way it did, and everything would be easier.
“You’re such an idiot,” Seth tells him teammate, although there’s nothing but fond in his voice, and Josh frowns even deeper.
“And yet, she likes me more.”
“I don’t like either of you,” you tell them both, and then you take your glass of wine, drown it at once - because hello, you deserve it - and make your way towards the kitchen.
You can tell Seth is hot on your heels, so as soon as you reach the stove, everything you’ve been holding in bursts out of you.
“Stupid fucking hair, stupid fucking smile, he won’t stop staring at me Seth, staring at me in this weird way and the way he talks, God, can he shut up? Josh, he’s just, he’s always flirting, and it’s not fucking fair, I can’t believe I’m in love with the biggest flirt on the planet!”
It serves you well, really, for having your mental breakdown in Seth’s apartment. You should’ve realized what a bad idea it was, but for some reason, it doesn’t occur to you until you hear a strangled noise come from the kitchen door and there’s Josh, staring at you with big eyes.
For once, there’s no flirty smile on his face, in fact, he looks completely blank.
“Well,” says Seth, slowly, looking from Josh to you. “That’s awkward.”
Awkward is not quite the word. The word would be more like death, at least according to you. You might’ve blacked out but somehow you find yourself sputtering: “You didn’t hear anything!” at Josh and then you’re pushing past him, out of the room, out of Seth’s apartment.
You’re not even wearing shoes.
You’ve just reached the elevator when a door slams, and it’s Josh, running towards you.
“Wait,” he calls out, and you debate whether or not to just book it down the stairs, but you decide against it.
For one, because Josh is your best friend after all, and he deserves an explanation, but also, maybe mostly, because Seth lives on the 16th floor and that’s absolutely ridiculous.
“I’m not a flirt,” are the first words out of Josh’s mouth when he reaches you.
You only have to raise an eyebrow at him for him to sigh.
“Okay, fine, maybe I’m a flirt. But haven’t you noticed that for like, the past 3 months, I’ve only flirted with you?”
You hadn’t necessarily noticed that, but to be fair, you try to lose sight of Josh whenever you go out, because that way you can’t see him flirt with other girls, and it can’t hurt.
But, then, whenever you did find him, he was always with the guys, or, well, with you...
“Oh,” you say softly.
“So...” The grin on Josh’s face is nothing short of devilish. “You think my hair is stupid?” He continues before you can answer. “And you want me to shut up?”
“Sometimes,” you admit, because you’re pretty sure you’ve got no dignity left at this point, might as well go for the truth.
“Do you want me to shut up now?” Josh asks, but once again he doesn’t wait for you to speak. “Cause if you do, I know a way you could make me.”
“You’re so stupid, oh my God,” you bring out, but then you push up on your tiptoes and press your lips against his.
To be fair, he does shut up after that.

Can I hear more about the new Lion King? I know most of tumblr has been hating it, but idk, I want to hear how it holds out in its own way
I thought it was really nice.
I’ll do my best to get into this without giving away any spoilers!
The animation was stunning. I don’t think it deserves the ripping it’s getting from people. You can tell the animators and the voice actors worked really hard to deliver a good performance and to make the movie visually pleasing, and I thought most of the characters were enjoyable. I was a tad disappointed with some of the songs, especially Be Prepared, because it was painfully obvious the voice actor can’t sing, so he was just shouting the whole time. But the cover of Can You Feel The Love Tonight was beautiful (thank you Beyonce) and the whole Can’t Wait To Be King sequence was adorable.
I adored how they animated the lions. The lack of facial expressions wasn’t a huge deal breaker for me. It’s still obvious what the characters are feeling, especially if you pay attention to their body language. Mufasa’s death scene hurt just as much as the original in my opinion. Cub Simba’s actor did wonderful with conveying his sadness through his voice. Though his lack of facial expression was a little disappointing, it wasn’t as bad as people are making it out to be.
They paid a lot of really good attention to the different animals’ mannerisms. I think my favorite example of that was when we’re first introduced to the hyenas. When Shenzi walks out, all the male hyenas cower, which is accurate to how hyena’s view their matriarchs (and females) as much higher members of the pack.
I did really enjoy the movie, but that’s not to say it wasn’t without fault. Timon and Pumbaa’s characters were taken a little bit too far in their silliness, which unfortunately made them turn out to be rather annoying characters I didn’t enjoy having on screen. I feel like Pumbaa deserved a better voice actor (one who can sing preferably, since hearing Seth Rogen try and fail to reach any sort of singing note was kind of uncomfortable for me.) I do think the movie would have benefited from exchanging a few voice actors that didn’t fit the characters very well (like Scar’s and Pumbaa’s) but all in all, nothing made the movie a horrible experience. It was fine.
It was a cute retelling of the story and I found myself really captivated by the animation and music. Plus the beginning - oh MAN - that was beautiful. It was a reanimation of nearly exactly the same scenes from the original, and that got me super emotional with nostalgia. I legitimately got choked up with tears in my eyes.
Overall, a good movie. I don’t think it deserves the hate so many people are giving it. But that might just be my love of the original and animals talking here, so this is really just my opinion.
My advice? Definitely go see it. If you don’t like it, fine. But don’t let everyone on Tumblr fool you into thinking it’s not worth seeing. I’m not one for Disney remakes - I’ve only seen about two of them before this (the few I did see I didn’t enjoy) - but I do think this is one of their better ones.
I encourage you to see it if you’re interested! It may not be most people’s cup of tea, but I certainly feel like it was worth the $10 I spent on the ticket.
(Except for the baby wailing for half of the movie. If your child starts having a massive tantrum, please take them out of the theater to calm them down instead of making everyone else miserable lol.)

The Raven King by Nora Sakavic
Tumblr media
With the Foxes having been hit with a major loss at the very beginning of the season, they have to learn how to cope with one less teammate while preparing for a perilous season. As they familiarize themselves with a less than ideal lineup they prepare themselves as best they can for their first ever game against the Edgar Allen Ravens. With pasts starting to come back to haunt the team they work their way though and try to push past it. As they work hard to succeed they grow closer than ever before and reveal things that never would have come to light if Neil wasn't on the team to stir things up and break boundaries. As they struggle and conquer together on the court and in their lives, the start to become a united front only for the events of the Christmas banquet finally force them apart. Will the team be able to survive or will they crumble under the pressure of their pasts?
--SPOILERS--
This review is a bit long so bear with me. I feel like this book is where the story finally starts to pick up and get interesting, more so later in the book but this book is definitely it. First off, i can't imagine the way the team is feeling after Seth’s death, they all have so many emotional problems (I’m looking at you Neil) that it must've been hard even if they weren't grieving. And I get it, Seth was an asshole and nobody really liked him but that doesn't mean that you shouldn't care about his death, I especially felt bad for Allison, she didn't deserve that. But I think in the long run (not to sound mean) Seth’s death helped bring the team closer together. And then in the midst of all this chaos, Andrew gets a call, the fateful call that will pretty much set up the entire book. It was great to learn more about the twins and their rivalry, but realizing that they’ve really only known each other for a couple of years was crazy, I can't imagine living most of your life not knowing someone was out there wearing your face. And yet they were both destined for crappy childhoods, like how much was fate messing with them huh? And then the decision to let Andrew be off his meds and play for an entire game comes along, that surprised me, but of course my crazy short blond son is willing to play along. And it works, but I'm sure Andrew felt horrible, but they won and that's what really matters, kind of. I know its not super important to the story but this part is important to me, they take Neil shopping. Finally! It seems crazy to me that he’s so resistant to people buying him anything, even something as simple as clothes, which is something that really needed to happen cause jorts? Really Neil? And the Andrew buys them matching phones?! So cute, also foreshadowing. Then the fated fall banquet arrives, where Neil starts to dig his grave deeper and deeper. First we find out that Dan used to be a stripper, but I’m so proud that she’s not ashamed fo what she did and isn’t going to let any stupid Raven get under her skin. And then we meet Jean, who of course goes on to list some of Neil’s other identities and therefore scare the shit out of him. I hated that Neil and subsequently Kevin found out that they knew who he was with all those people around, I can't imagine how that made him feel. And then after a little bit of antagonization from Riko, Neil snaps and gives his iconic, “You know, I get it” speech, like damn. One side of me is like ‘do you want to make things a little bit worse for yourself hunny?’ and the other side of me is like ‘yas go off on this abusive chauvinist asshole’ and then they tell Neil that really all along he wasn't running from his dad, he was running from Riko’s family and it's just like *boom* mic dropped. Again I can't imagine how truly afraid Neil was for his life at that very moment. His conversation about it with Kevin hit me hard, Neil’s been on the run for years, having someone know who he truly is must be the worst feeling ever, but he chooses to stay anyway, my boy has immense courage and probably a death wish but I'm so glad that that's what he chose. One thing I love the most about this book is the fact that Neil starts to form friendships, actual genuine bonds with real good people. It's crazy that he's never had real friends before but I’m glad that he's friends with these people, they're great in a messed up family dynamic kind of way. Learning the rest of the twins story from Nicky made me appalled, what kind of mother, let alone person could give up her kids change her mind but not have enough love or decenty in her heart to take both? Their story hurt my heart like you could not believe. And then Nicky implying that Andrew killed their mother(which he did but whatever) like damn, another mic drop. And then the topic completely changes form murder to ‘hey Nicky why are you gay?’ and Nicky’s answer is just hilariously on point for his character, the way he talks about Erik is just so adorable, I wish we got to see more of Erik in this series. But Nicky’s backstory is so sad! His parents are awful and I can't imagine what he went through before he truly started to love himself. Then their first game against the Ravens arrives. I was so nervous, I was literally sitting on the edge of my seat during this game. And even though they lost I was very proud of them, but I really just wanted to slit Riko’s throat. I hate him with all of my five foot one self. And then its Halloween and Neil (my magical boy) convinces the entire team to go out for drinks together, what an absolute miracle. But it's not all rainbows and sunshine, quite yet. Remember that call that Andrew got at the beginning of the book, well turns out the cop has come for a visit, how wonderful. But it's a very vague scene which again, is vital later in the book. But then we learn about Matt’s backstory. Like wow, lots of tragic backstories in this book amiraight? After Halloween Neil and Renee finally have in my opinion, a much needed heart to heart, or as close to it as two severely damaged people can get. And we get another backstory, wow, I think we're checking pretty much everyone off the list. Also I want to meet Kevin's girlfriend! I want to meet her now! Then another phone call that will set up the rest of this book. Nicky’s parents call to invite them over for Thanksgiving. What a mess, but Andrew, Kevin, Aaron, Nicky, and Neil all pile into the car and take a ride down to see the parents. But not before stopping by the Exy store to get Neil a new racket, which is also another crazy important detail. This book flows so nicely, even if the events that occur aren't nice, everything connects so seamlessly, it's perfect. And then we meet the parents, right off the bat I knew I would hate them and that they were only going to cause problems. Religion is okay, like Nicky says, it is an interpretation of faith, but people like Nicky's parents aren't willing to view it like that and that makes them dangerous, turns out I was right. Luring Andrew to Drake was cruel and horrifying. I hope they get sent away. The way Aaron defended his brother though, that kind of passion for someone you barely know is something that runs in the twins blood and that's the connection that will be vital to repairing their brotherhood. The way Neil tried to comfort Andrew, all that boy wants is to protect him. The description of Andrew being too high to even really process what had just happened to him, and the description of his laugh, it was enough to make me feel nauseous, it was such a descriptive and visceral scene. I don't agree with Aaron being arrested but whatever. But the fact that, after Andrew found out he was being sent away, he had enough trust in Neil to give Kevins care to him, like wow. That's such a big step in the right direction for their relationship. And I'm so gosh dang happy that Andrew is being taken off his meds, if they'd left him on them after what he went through I would have a serious problem. But Neil honey, your racket was used as a murder weapon and you want it back?! Like seriously? My boy needs some help, but he gets a new one so it's fine. Neil’s mission to fix Aaron and Andrew’s relationship? Such pure intentions for a boy with such a broken heart but it really shows how much he cares for these people, he has such a caring heart and has never deserved anything that he's gotten. The scene on page 269, yes I put the page number in there because it's important, when Neil asks the team if they are actually friends. Ugh, my heart did a little song and dance, I’m so happy that my broken boy has friends, and I’m glad that Aaron gets to keep Katelyn around, I like her, she's good for him. But the Christmas banquet arrives and doesn't bring any yuletide cheer with it. First things first, Riko admitted to being the cause of Seth's death, like wow didn't think that was going to happen but he's a cocky asshole so I really should have expected it. Second, he admits to setting up the thing with Drake and then tells Neil that he can have Andrew tortured/raped at his rehabilitation center if Neil doesn't cooperate. And so Neil sets off to Evermore for Christmas break, pretty much sealing his fate meanwhile the only one that knows is Kevin and Kevin can’t say a thing to stop him. I was literally screaming at my book by this point begging him not to go, but he's a stubborn little asshole. Okay, the fact that Riko put him in Kevin's place, was super symbolic of Riko’s insane personality. Then we find out that Kevin’s dad is Wymack? Like, uh, definitely didn't see that one coming, like never in a million years would I have expected that. I can't believe that they beat Neil to a pulp and then expected him to play? They're literally torturing this boy just to get him to play a sport, then Riko pulls out his knife and gets to work, and like Neil says Riko is “one seriously fucked up individual.” And then he’s home, honestly I think it works well that his time at Evermore wasn’t in the book, it makes it feel more real, I don't know how to describe it but it makes it feel like Neil tried to block everything out and then everything comes rushing back once he’s home. The fact that Wymack dropped everything to come and get him really goes to how how much he cares for these kids, they’re his family. Then coach offered to patch him up which was really nice of him but when Neil saw his tattoo and was literally ready to carve it of his face with a kitchen knife, you really get a peek into how much damage they truly did to him and how much he really cares for this team, that he's willing to put himself in danger just in order to stay with them. He's willing to fight his instincts to stay with his family, and that's what bravery looks like in my opinion. As I’ve said before and will say again, I love this series so much and would highly recommend it everyone.

Monthly Wrap Up: August
Tumblr media
Not a lot to say with this month. Mostly I just wasn't in the mood for reading or writing (which is why this is late). I tried to do 2 readthons and didn't fully complete either of them. I only read 6 books and while overall they were good (only having one 2 star), they were almost all disappointing to a certain degree. I did still manage to have a good variety of books (including a non fiction), read my classic of the month, and continue with my yearly reading challenge. Also midway through the month I started impleneting a new star rating system on a scale of 10 stars that I would then translate into a scale out of 5 stars. For clarification numbers on the left is out of 10 stars and the numbers on the right is out of 5 stars: 1-2 stars=1 star, 3-4 stars=2 stars, 5-6 stars=3 stars, 6.5-7 stars= 4 stars, 8-9= 5 stars (if a book manages to get 10/10 it's obviously going to be 5 stars). Not a bad month, just wasn't what I hoped it would be.
More Than This by Patrick Ness: In the past I've read two very different books by Ness. A Monster Calls and The Knife of Never Letting Go. Also had very different opinions about the books. I've stayed away from Ness' other books because they've gotten mixed reviews, at best. The one exception seemed to be More Than This, which everyone seems to like but also tip toed around what it's about. Now having read it, it makes sense why very little is given away about this book, but I really didn't like it. The only reason I kept reading it was in the hope that I would get answers by the end of the story, which I didn't. I will say that the first quarter of this book, when Seth is waking up and just experiencing the environment around him, was actually good. Lyrical and introspective, the pacing was just right and really pulled me into the story despite little action or dialogue. It was definitely my favorite part of the book. After the mysterious Driver shows up, however, the entire novel goes downhill. Instead of being a slow, tender story that would focus on people, and life, and mortality, it just degrades into this weird action packed dystopian. Characters were just bland, absolutely devoid of personality and minimal back story to establish how tragic they are. As for Seth himself, I liked that he was gay and in the big scheme of things it wasn't a big deal, but I don't get why their had to be such extreme hatred for him being gay when that was only a very small part of the story. What's most frustrating about this book is that nothing makes sense and it provides no answers. Even the ending makes no sense! I can't go into any details because of spoilers but this is definitely one of the worst post apocalyptic/ dystopian stories I have ever read, and there are a ton of generic ones out there. This novel was just a cheap Matrix rip off with sloppy execution. Based off my opinion of this book, and what I've heard of other works by Ness, I don't think I'll be reading any more material that produces. More Than This received 2 out 5 stars (3/10) and was my pick for the Treasure Hunting Readathon: Door.
Tumblr media
The Secret Garden by Frances Hodgson Burnett: I was initially going to read this one next month, as my classic for September, but I picked it up for this month as part of a reading challenge (which I did not complete). I know it's classic that a lot of people read as a child, but I wasn't one of those people, and I was curious how I would feel about it as an adult. There were definitely some problematic aspects of this book that are honestly staples of Victorian literature, child abuse (neglect) and racism. That being said, I rather enjoyed this book. It's a simple story, a sour girl discovering a secret garden, with a lot of depth due to the themes of love, friendship, and growth, making it both easy to read but something that lingers with me. It's a pretty book, with both the writing and the setting, that works as a timeless classic. The Secret Garden received 4 out 5 stars (7/10).
Tumblr media
The Book Thief by Markus Zusak: When I read this book in junior high, I liked it but I honestly didn't get the hype. Now rereading, I realize that I missed so much as kid and this is the type of book I would recommend everyone read. Taking place during WWII, this book follows a young girl named Liesel as she grows up in a small town in Germany with her foster family. This is a book that nails everything that a historical fiction should be. The war serves as a backdrop while the spotlight is put on the struggles of daily life and the effects of the war. Characters are all well written, to the point where they come off as life like. Each one stands out as an individual with their own story to tell: from the book thief, to accordion player, to the Jesse Owen's fan, to the Jewish fist fighter, even Death himself. Even the plot, which is simple war time slice of life, really pulls me in with it's humanity and stellar characters. It's honestly hard to restrain myself in this quick wrap up because this book evokes so many thoughts and emotions in me. The best thing about this book is that it shows the humanity, it shows the light even in dark times. There's very little fault to this book, if any, and is the kind of book the comes along every once in while that you know will withstand the test of time and evolve into a modern classic. Needless to say The Book Thief received 5 out 5 stars (9/10).
Tumblr media
The Social Sex: A History of Female Friendship by Marilyn Yalom and Theresa Donovan Brown: While the topic of this piece of nonfiction did appeal to me, since I'll read just about any history book that focuses on women, but I think because it was a topic I had such high hopes for, I was ultimately disappointed by it. There were only a few chapters that I thought were actually informative, which is actually the problem I have with most shorter history books. When it's a history book there's generally a lot of ground to cover, that can't be properly condensed into a book under 400 pages. The result is usually a text that glosses over the more intimate and intricate details, which is what I'm really looking for. I really wanted to get a sense of the real world history of friendships among women because it's something I feel like doesn't get the spotlight it deserves and even in fiction I'm always looking for good examples of friendship between female characters. The first few chapters focused on the philosophy of friendship, while emphasizing how male dominated it was at the expense of women. That theme remained to almost the halfway point, which I really didn't want because that lesson has been driven in my head and I don't want to see it everywhere I go. Those chapters really only focused on a few notable female friendships at various periods of history, and only in 3 countries (sort of 4) in the entire world. There were a few solid chapters in the middle, and the book did end better than it started, but the last few chapters kept repeating the same thing. I felt stiffed because most the book just wasn't informative or memorable. An interesting subject that just fell short in it's delivery (and possibly research). The Social Sex received 3 out 5 stars (6/10) and was my pick for the PopSugar prompt “book by 2 female authors” (which was really hard to find).
Tumblr media
The Girl of Fire and Thorns by Rae Carson: Every century, someone is chosen to be the bearer of the Godstone. Princess Elisa is the current bearer, and while she is prophecised to perform a great act of service, the path to that destiny is filled with danger. When she is married off to a king from a neighboring kingdom she must finally face what it means to be the bearer and begin her long journey with an uncertain ending. I am excited to talk about this one but I'm finding it hard to. When I first read it back in high school, it instantly became one of my favorite series and remained one of my favorite series all these years. Because of how much I loved it, I put this reread off for awhile because I was super nervous that it wouldn't live up to my previous experience. It didn't, but to be fair it would be almost impossible since my reading tastes have changed, I have a better understanding of what I think makes a good book, and I've been hyping up this book for years.  What made this first book so beloved to me (an intelligent female protagonist who experiences amazing growth and the role of religion) were still all there with the depth that I remember them having. There even some surprising elements: like I still thought the romance was well handled and I loved the world. Everything about it from the religion to the geography to the language and even the fact that all the characters have darker skin (seriously if you're looking for more diverse YA I would totally recommend this one), clearly has influence from a certain culture in our world but is still its own thing. There were however, a few things that did disappoint me, one of them being a big deal (at least for me personally). The pacing of the narrative itself was fine, especially since there was a lot of journeying in this book, but it almost felt like the narrative was moving too fast and I just wish there were at least a few moments where the plot settles and we get more intimate character moments. The major issue I had with this book the lack of girl power, something I thought this series had but upon reread I was confronted with the fact that it really doesn't. Again I would like to emphasize that Elisa is a fantastic character, not only because she proves her intelligence and puts it to good use but she's someone who grows past her insecurities and becomes a better individual for it, but she's the only female character that gets this treatment. Most of the other females, like her sister Alodia, her nurse Ximena, and her new handmaid Mara, get little screen time and are hardly relevant to the story, while the only female side character, Cosme, is a total bitch to Elisa for basically the entire novel. It was the exact opposite of what I wanted in terms of girl power, and I was really disappointed by that, but that's my only major complaint. This book has its strong points that elevate it beyond the typical YA fantasy but it isn't all that I thought it would be. The Girl of Fire and Thorns received 5 out 5 stars  (8/10) and was my pick for the PopSugar prompt “reread of a past favorite.”
Tumblr media
The Crown of Embers by Rae Carson: Immediately after I finished The Girl of Fire and Thorns I started reading this one, since I want to marathon read all the books in the Fire and Thorns series, like I did last time. Where the first book focuses on Elisa's personal growth (the whole series does but its most prominent in the first book), introducing the world, and the battle of good vs evil (Joyans vs Invierne), the second book focuses more on Elisa being a ruler while still having a looming destiny and the political machinations of the world, and starts to blur the line between good and evil. Based on that summary it sounds more like the kind of book that I would love, but I struggled more with this book than I did the previous. I think it's due to the fact that this book tried to tackle more mature subject matter, but kept the narrative pacing the same as its predecessor, and also didn't really remedy the issues I had in the previous book, which were only more prominent. I didn't like the political intrigue because almost everything about it was just kind of dumped in the book with no prior development, which it really needed in order to create a believable scenario. I discussed in The Girl of Fire and Thorns wrap up that I was pretty disappointed by the lack of girl power which only got worse in this book. Mara as a character frustrated me because she only existed to talk about boys with Elisa, but there's also a lack of females being major characters or even important figures in politics. Even Elisa being a ruler is undermined by all the males in her court (except Hector), which is something I've seen done with YA fantasies with female monarchs, and I really don't like it because it reduces the queen down to little more than a figure head. Carson clearly shows that she can write amazing characters that are also female, but I don't know why she reserves it to only 1. Speaking of Elisa though, she is the best thing about this whole series. Like I love everything about Elisa. I love that she retains her core characteristics (strong moral code, her faith and intelligence) but she continues to progress as a character, constantly evolving to reach her full potential. She's honestly what drives the narrative, her decisions as a queen, her destiny as the bearer of the Godstone, and her internal growth. As YA fantasy, especially one from the time period it was published, this is a good book, but it's frustrating seeing the obvious potential this book has to be a rather sophisticated fantasy series, but then just not having it reach that potential. The Crown of Embers received 4 out 5 stars (7/10).

THE INTERVIEW:
I. What are your favourite and least favourite things about your hometown? How do they compare to how you feel about Edens Town?
Aly bit her lip, her first time being confronted with such a question. She wasn’t a dishonest girl at heart, but she was still trying to survive. Lying it would be. “Compared to LA? It’s a pretty big difference, in my opinion. Edens Town is a lot smaller, and a lot nicer. Technically I grew up in the suburbs, you know, just outside of the city, but I always loved being able to see the lights no matter how far away you were. It was like you always knew which way was home. But of course that meant tons of people, traffic was brutal all the time... I just kind of got tired of it, I guess? You always knew which way was home, but it was so easy to feel lost yourself... I was ready for a change,”. Aly kept her cool, trying to hold down the vomit in her mouth. God did she make herself gag sometimes... but she was playing the part of the valley girl, and had to be committed to it.Home was where I grew up, it’s where I’ve always lived... but it kind of feels like that’s where I died, too, she thought. Aly thought back to when she was little; home was the place you went to feel happy, safe, comfortable... and it just wasn’t that anymore. Edens Town would be a nice little refresh.... they say that about small towns, right? Everyone it close. I’d love to have that feeling again.
II. How do you feel about your life? For example, your family, your job?
As personal as the questions were, Aly tried to not take it that way. If she wanted to answer honestly, her response would be ‘What the actual fuck’ in terms of how she felt about her life. But this wasn’t the time or place. The easiest way to lie, was to weave it in between kernels of truth. “There’s a big gap between me and my older siblings, so I’m pretty independent. My parents are super supportive of me... I was definitely one of those ‘free range’ children. #CaliforniaProblems, amiright?” Ew, she hated herself right now. “They said college would be a good idea, but so many people go into it without really knowing what they want to do. So I’m just taking some time off, you know, travelling, exploring.... ‘finding myself’.... all that good stuff,”. In reality, as far as she knew, her entire family was dead. Aly’s dad died in a car crash long ago, her mom hadn’t visited her since she had first gotten put in foster care, and her older brother and sister.... once they heard that their mom was drinking more and more, they all but cut off their communication with mom.... and thus, Alaska too. The blonde shook the thought away, remembering there was more to this one question. She hesitated for a moment.  I am.... was.... a prostitute... but I’m not anymore, I promise. Far away from Seth now, the girl answered in her head. “I don’t have a job right now, but I saw that the ice cream shop is hiring, so maybe I’ll work there? Earn some extra cash now that I’m here.”
III. What are your biggest achievements and your biggest regrets?
“I won a dance award while I was in high school that I’m really proud of. It got me a scholarship for a summer dance intensive, and I worked really hard for it,”. It wasn’t a lie... that was something that Aly was incredibly proud of. It reminded her of a time before things started spiraling out of control entirely. After dad died, after her mom had given her up, but before she had to run. It was her first foster home, she was still getting visitations with her mom, and it really did feel like a temporary thing. Alaska couldn’t help but chuckle some as she compared it to something else she was incredibly proud of: running away and being here. Oh how life had changed....
“I think my biggest regret... as much as I loved school and dance and whatnot, I kind of regret not hanging out with my friends as much, doing all the normal teenage-y things.” That, on the other hand, was a thick load of bullshit, but Aly stuck with it-- externally, anyways. My biggest regret might be having to leave my mom. I wish I could’ve stayed with her, maybe I could’ve helped her, or fixed her... not that I really had a choice in leaving, but still. I wish I could’ve been there for her, and I regret not being able to.
IV. What is your biggest fear?
“Not being happy in life. Isn’t that what we’re all chasing? The Pursuit?” she hadn’t ever tried LSD, but did she really need to at this point? She sounded like she was tripping on some serious sunshine and rainbows.
The question of her biggest fear chilled Aly to her core. She had left so abruptly; the apartment raid, the belongings scattered everywhere, the blood on the floor.... the young girl gathered up anything and everything she could find, any and all of her belongings and then some. Alaska wasn’t sure if it was a police raid or.... someone else -competition maybe?- that was trying to bust Seth, take his supply and everything he had earned from the girls-- girls like Aly. She had managed to find some cash, so either they didn’t look hard, or it had been a police raid. Either way, it wasn’t good for her. She was terrified that Seth -or one of the others- would be looking for her.... Alaska also knew she was a milk carton girl; she had run from foster care at 16, still a minor then. She knew a missing child report had been filed for her, her face plastered in places... that was a couple years ago now, she reminded herself. Plenty of other kids have gone missing since, her picture long since buried, likely-- especially now that she was 18. Moving to a small town was step 1. Only going by Aly, and not Alaska, was step 2.
V. What are your plans for the future?
The future? A bizarre concept for the girl up until now. “Honestly, I don’t think moving to Edens Town full-time would be all that bad... don’t you think? Settling down, maybe opening up a bar or something... I don’t know. I’m still young. For now, probably getting a job, a place to live, and a coffee.” maybe a fix, too, if there’s some left in my bag. She was still in shock that she was here, but happy none the less. She was a good kid, who deserved a lot more than she’d been given in life... but Aly had skeletons and secrets. Maybe this could be the start of turning things around.
VI. Can you describe yourself in one sentence?
Aly paused, not sure how to take the question. It was confusing, until it wasn’t. "That to which the action of the sea is directed,” she said proudly. Her dad had named her, and he made sure that growing up, Aly knew the strength and resilience that came with it, especially in its native spelling: Alyeska. The girl could practically hear him finish the rest of the phrase; “That to which the action of the sea is directed; that which breaks against the shore,” She liked to think that she lived up to it, and from time to time, made her dad proud, too. Aly. Alyeska.  Alaska.

All Hallows’ Eve [H!Jakob/NewYear!Corrin]
Pairings: Jakob/NewYear!Corrin [with mentions of Jakob/F!Corrin, Seth/Eirika and Ephraim/L’Arachel]
[FE Heroes-verse]
Askr was an enigma of a location. It was most definitely quieter and safer than the battlefields of Nohr and Hoshido, but also much louder and more vibrant than the Northern Fortress.
In many ways, it was the most normal place Jakob had ever been. Heroes chatted and galivanted around as happily as they could between battles. Some heroes even became engaged and informally wed. Hell, even the summoner Kiran was engaged.
It some ways, he could describe the land as quite idyllic.
In countless other ways, it was a strange wonderland of at least a million nuances. While bloody battles were an everyday occurrence, death wasn’t permanent. Fallen heroes always came back unscathed, even though the pain from the lost battles had been quite real.
Immortality wasn’t the only quirk Askr had to offer. Children turned to beasts, items like chocolates and seashells were weapons and warriors traversed the battlefields in elaborate ensembles of armor and even wedding gowns.
Some heroes even shared voices. Some of the voices were even identical to his own.
One such person with a similar voice was Saizo, but he never seemed to speak more than a few words at a time. The most notable person he shared a voice with was a spy named Matthew, who spoke in a different accent but most definitely the same voice and pitch.
It was even more surreal due to the fact the young man talked about unfamiliar names like ‘Jaffar’ and ‘Nino’ all while gushing over some woman named Leila. Whoever she was, he sounded quite smitten.
If it was odd enough to hear his voice from another’s throat, it was downright chilling to meet alternate versions of himself strolling the area. One time he thought he saw another version of himself, dressed in his normal butler ensemble, following Corrin into a church.
The thought made him blush.
Corrin.
Gods, he missed his liege. He sighed deeply and pushed the daydream from his mind.
Perhaps he’d only helplessly wished for such a sight. Although, in such a strange place, perhaps anything was possible. It wouldn’t be the strangest thing he’d seen so far.
All the other heroes, from children to seniors, chatted merrily one moment and, the next, they were facing down nefarious foes on the battlefield with wiped memories.
Some heroes wore armor and others even wore swimsuits and other costumes.
“Oh gods, don’t even get me started,” he thought as he cast a glance down at his own clothes. The garish costume he wore and the silly-looking weapon that crackled nefariously as his side didn’t bode well with him. No wonder most avoided him. That was the only silver-lining, he supposed.
Not that he cared to harp on it too much, all things considering. The man had been summoned to the strange place right in the middle of his homeland’s autumnal Harvest Festival. One second, he’d been serving tea to his master, and the next he felt as if the world around him shattered into a million pieces and he found himself walking upon an ethereal dais to be greeted by the mysterious summoner Kiran and an owl named Feh.
Since coming to the strange land in a puff of smoke, the summoner had appointed him to head the castle’s defensive team. He’s objected obviously, but Kiran had insisted he take the lead.
So, not in the mood to argue, he reluctantly agreed.
It was an eccentric change of pace for him. To be a leader was not something in his blood. Once more, he was leading armies of other individuals from other dimensions and worlds that were all practically strangers to one another. For every familiar face, there seemed to be a dozen or so new ones.
Although he enjoyed bonding with Prince Alfonse over tea and teasing Frederick over his incredibly informal beach attire (which usually resulted in him having to dodge a sharpened seashell or two) there was only one person he truly longed to see.
Corrin.
Then, as if in a dream, he heard her voice call for him.
“Oh, Jakob, is that you?”
He stiffened at the sound of the familiar voice and phrase. She sounded as if she was only a few inches behind him. The man whirled around expecting to see the princess he longed to meet again so desperately but could never seen to catch up to. Instead, he turned to see a young woman that, alas, was not his liege. She was a shorter girl with reddish, bobbed hair. Instead of a sword, she brandished a staff in her pale hands.
It wasn’t Corrin.
Only someone who shared her voice.
“Ah, Priscilla, correct?’ he said as he tried his best to not sigh in disappointment. Instead, he forced a smile and greeted her kindly. After all, she hadn’t done anything wrong. How was she supposed to know? “I’m sorry, you just startled me. What do you require?”
“Oh…um, Kiran is requesting your presence at the summoning dais,” she said gently, her voice timid and so quiet Jakob had to strain to hear her. “They said it was urgent.”
“Is that so?” he asked, becoming annoyed almost immediately. Probably another idiotic battle with another’s army. While the fighting wasn’t the worst, he didn’t much care for the team he fought with. They were all strangers, but at least, they were strong together. At the end of the day, he supposed that was all that truly mattered in the world of Askr.
“Excuse me, then,” he said with a deep bow. “I’ll take my leave.”
“Of course,” she said with a kind smile. “Take care, Jakob…and if you must go into battle, please be careful. If you find yourself injured, please find me.”
Thank goodness she was quiet. It hurt to listen to every word she spoke.
“I’ll be fine,” he swore as he darted off.
The man briskly made his way to the dais in hope to get whatever matter of discussion was needed out of the way as soon as possible. He had absolutely no desire to covert around with the ridiculous, caped summoner and talking owl. The only reason he would even long to see then was if, by some miracle, perhaps they would send him home.
“Unlikely,” he thought with dismay.
Jakob arrived as his destination and climbed a series of marble steps that ascended into the sky and beyond a blanket of clouds. As he meandered, he heard Kiran shout something excitedly amidst a foggy cocoon of smoke.
“Woohoo!” Kiran shouted from atop the dais, cheering and jumping about in excitement.
In the distance, he could hear the faint swells of shimmering magic and the clashing of sword and axe blades. Another team must have gone into battle, he thought.
Judging from Kiran’s reaction, he assumed they’d been victorious. Perhaps a greater reward than usual had been at stake. Not that it mattered to him in the slightest.
“Good work, team!” the summoner cried from afar while Feh flying in dizzying circles and hooted in elation.
The silver-haired man took a brief pause to glance down and see four heroes marching off the battlefield below. The only one he recognized immediately was L’Arachel, who was a frequent tome user on their kingdom’s defensive team. Whenever she brazenly ran forward to attack, he’d often pull her back immediately and defend her. It was a shockingly effective technique…although she was rarely careful enough to avoid casualty most times. The other teammates, Seliph and Ike, were nowhere to be found.
This time, the blonde princess was joined by two blue-haired warriors that looked like siblings and a red-haired man he knew as Seth.
“Princess Eirika, are you okay?” said warrior asked as his horse trotted alongside her. His voice ached with reverence and concern, but not delicateness, for the woman. “The battle was hard-fought and quite arduous. Please, my horse can carry us both.”
The woman, obviously tired by not beaten, looked up at him and shook her head. Jakob saw the two have a brief discourse before she relented, and he lifted her on his lap. Obviously relieved, Eirika smiled up at him as the two rode back home.
The other pair was much more obnoxious.
“Come along Ephraim,” L’Arachel commanded as her white pony galloped off the field. As the prince sighed and began to follow slowly, she threw a shifty glance back at him and asked, “My, you seem to be just as exhausted as your much more talented sister. Well, I suppose you can ride with me if you’re having trouble keeping up.”
“What’s that? And kick you off your high-horse?’ he asked almost playfully. “I’m fine.”
“Hmph, you’re quite cocky for a man who barely survived the battle,” she retorted, eyes scanning his body and noticing the bloody injuries. She also noted the obvious patches of bare skin, where her eyes not-so-obviously lingered for much longer than necessary.
Ephraim couldn’t help but notice her leering and seized an opportunity.
“You’re quite persnickety for a woman who just asked me to ride along with her,” he said, staring off in the distance as he feigned cool disinterest. He looked ahead to see Eirika comfortable on Seth’s lap.
The otherwise sweet image only served as ammunition for the cocky prince.
“Was your plan for me to sit on your lap as well?” he asked with a smirk. “That sounds nice, but I’d rather sit on Seth’s. His looks more comfortable.”
The heavy weight of her tome clobbered him between his eyes.
“You’d be lucky to be allowed on this horse with me!” she shot back a little too loudly. “As far as I’m concerned, you’re unworthy! By the by, my lap is most definitely more comfortable than his and most certainly yours, you devilish pervert!”
“Prove it, then” he shot back with a completely straight face, only to be smacked again with her tome.
“As incorrigible as ever,” Jakob muttered to himself as he watched them bicker from afar. Hell, Ephraim deserved it, in his opinion. The damned prince was a fine jock but was an ass when it came to social protocol. Not that L’Arachel was anything close to a shining example either.
Then again, neither was he, he supposed.
The man wasn’t jealous of poor Seth and Eirika in the slightest as he backed away from the sight and their voices slowed faded into the distance.
Well, his suspicions thus far seemed correct. It seemed Kiran was excited about a reward that had come from the last battle if the excited ‘Woohoo!’ was anything to go by.
With a cleansing sigh he often used to prepare his fragile patience for most social conversations, Jakob ascended finals steps of the staircase without hindrance of the ball and chain. The scraping of metal on concrete did alert Kiran to his presence and, when they turned to face him, a huge grin was plastered on their face.
“Guess what?” Kiran asked, balling their fists and doing a thrilled dance on their tiptoes. The small figured danced over to Jakob’s side to slowly nudge him toward the stone monument embossed with summering orbs and rugged stonework.
Jakob replied with exhausted silence.
Kiran continued without prompting.
“I know you’ve been down recently, but I just summoned someone who is going to make you very happy!” they said in a hushed tone.
Jakob’s ivory brow lofted in sheer lack of amusement. “Who?”
The strange stone monument a few feet away from them clicked into the earth and released more smoke.
Jakob’s head darted to the crook of his elbow as a strong zephyr of wind pushed against his body. Kiran pulled down their hood and lifted their cloak, cackling with glee the entire time as thick tendrils of smoke slithered around them. Now Jakob was more apprehensive then he was annoyed.
Then, he saw him.
A man with pale hair, red eyes and pointed ears. Emerged from the smoke. The prince was dressed in traditional Hoshido attire and brandished a themed bow all too similar to his own. He stepped off the platform with the grace of a nymph. He didn’t seem disoriented or moody at all. In fact, he was even smiling as he trotted over to the Summoner.
Jakob was wide-eyed at the sight.
“Happy New Year!” he said jovially, his cheeks snow-kissed pink and his smile as bright as a star. “My name’s Kamui, and I’ve decided to spend this year with…”
“Lord…Corrin?”
The young prince paused mid-sentence and glimpsed over Kiran’s shoulder upon noticing the flashing from Jakob’s Monstrous Bow out of the corner of his eye.
The duo locked eyes briefly and the butler felt his stomach quiver. Jakob wondered for a moment if the prince, no doubt from another realm, would recognize him. He didn’t have to wonder long.
Upon seeing a familiar face, Kamui beamed in elation and pushed past Kiran to run to his friend.
“Jakob, it’s you!” the man cried joyfully. He opened his arms and made a beeline for his childhood companion.
Guided by instinct he didn’t know he possessed, the costumed butler dropped his weapon to the ground as Kamui crossed the platform and jumped into his arms. The force of the hug sent Jakob stumbling back a few paces, but he couldn’t care less. He crushed the prince in the tightest hug he could manage, and Kamui reciprocated with an embrace that could potentially crush bones thanks to his draconic strength.
Again, it was hard for Jakob to care.
“You’re here…” Jakob gasped, breathless with a mix of happiness and confusion. The person before him was most definitely his liege, but the incarnation he held so tightly in his arms was also clearly someone from another world. This version of Corrin was a young prince, and he was dressed in Hoshidan attire he’d never seen before.
It was a Corrin from another reality. Another version of the same person he loved with the same smile he treasured.
And yet, they remembered him. This person, Kamui, knew him and ran to him with the same passion and joy of someone he’d known his whole life. He supposed, in another world, it was the exact case.
“Jakob, I’m so happy to see a familiar face,” the young man confessed, not wanting to pull away from his friend’s arms. He pressed his cheek over Jakob’s heart, finding comfort in the heat of his chest and the definite speed of the beats.
“I…” he drawled, barely able to find the words to describe what he felt.
“Did you miss me?” Kamui asked, his eyes slowly traveling down Jakob’s form. “Woah, you look so cool, and you’re using a bow just like I am! It’s different, but I know I’ll get used to it. Maybe we can practice together?”
Jakob remained stunned and silent.
“Oh, I get it,” Kamui suddenly realizing, chatting up a storm again without prompting. “You must be from another world! That would explain the costume. Were you summoned here like I was just now?”
They might have been from different words, and yet, nothing seemed to have changed. Kamui was still a ray of sunshine and Jakob was still at a loss for words when he caught sight of his liege’s dazzling smile.
“I don’t understand,” Jakob finally admitted, shaking his head. “I mean, I know you’re my liege, but we’re from different worlds. We’re essentially strangers. This is…”
“How so?” Kamui asked honestly. “You’re Jakob, and even if you’re the Jakob from another world, you’re still you.”
Jakob paused and averted his eyes to meet his gaze. Amethyst eyes meant ruby ones. “Wait. You know who I am?”
“Of course, I do!” Kamui replied breathlessly. The poor price almost sounded exasperated. He then looked up at Jakob with eyes full of love and joy. “I’ve known you my whole life. You’re my retainer and my best friend. Right?”
Jakob’s eyes softened, and he buried his face in Kamui’s shoulder. The aroma of cherry-blossoms was sobering and especially sweet when it mingled with the essence of sweet-smelling chocolate from his own festive ensemble.
Jakob relented and decided to let go of his hesitation. Everything else was already so strange and outlandish. Finally, when the person he loved most in all his life was finally before him, why did he let the rules of time and reality disorient him? They didn’t matter for anything else, and they certainly didn’t matter for this.
“Yes, I am,” he confessed, sweeping one of his hands across Kamui’s cheek. “It’s me, my lord.”
The young prince beamed up at him. His arms snaked slowly around Jakob’s neck and brought him down into a slow and almost hesitant kiss. The chaste touch barely registered to Jakob until the moment after it ended. It was then that Jakob’s hand drifted down to where Kamui had rested it on his shoulder. There, he interlaced their fingers and placed a kiss on the price’s knuckles.
“Kamui, I never told you this back home, because I was so afraid to say it,” he confessed slowly, blush deepening from pink to mauve. “But I love you. So very much.”
This time, Kamui’s kiss was much deeper and more insistent. He kissed the man as if he was starving for air or water, and in vital need of something to sustain his being after so much time apart. Thank goodness Jakob was strong enough to lift the prince closer to his mouth and support him.
Kamui frantically murmured the words, “I love you too.”
Jakob fought from swooning. Gods, how long he’d yearned to hear those words. Instead, he closed his eyes and smiled into their next kiss, swearing that everything around him was a fantastical dream and that he was bound to wake up from it soon.
Then, he felt the pleasure-pain of Kamui’s hands knifing through his hair and giving a tug and knew with a euphoric crash of realization that everything was real.
“Jakob, will you tell me that you love me every day we’re together?” Kamui asked between kisses.
“Yes,” Jakob said, his reply blissful. He pulled away just enough for their lips to be a millimeter apart.
“And we’ll be together always?” Kamui asked again, raking his hands through Jakob’s hair and giving another tug. The brisk tug changed the angle of their kiss so he could peck the side of Jakob’s mouth. His slightly fanged teeth barely caressed Jakob’s bottom lip and he shuddered in absolute bliss.
“Yes, always,” he swore feverishly, hands clenching Kamui further into their contorted embrace.
The two kissed until their air ran out and they were forced to move away from each other. When they finally drifted apart, their eyes opened to greet each other. Both smiled and held hands tightly, never wanting to let go again.
The two would have stayed in each other’s arms all day had it not been from a soft ‘hooting’ noise from near that dais. That was right, Kiran and Feh were still nearby. It appeared they hadn’t gotten the hint and wandered away.
As soon as Kamui noticed them, his face turned scarlet and he nervously scratched the back of his head. An embarrassed chuckle fell clumsily from his lips.
“Well, um, shall we go practice together?” Kamui offered bashfully.
“Depends,” Jakob replied, an unusually smug smirk on his face that accompanied his blush quite nicely. “Are we practicing kissing or archery?”
Kamui tried his best to not burst out laughing and failed. Apparently, the joyful sound was so contagious that even the usually stoic Jakob couldn’t resist joining in the romantic revelry.
Perhaps they were from two different worlds, but they were the same two people that shared the same difficult by fateful past.
For them, that was more than enough.
Jakob slowly lowered Kamui back to the ground until his toes could touch the bottom. Then, the prince surprised him by suddenly taking his hand and joyfully pulling him down the stairs and away from the dais.
Ball and chain be damned, Jakob followed loyally and kept proper pace every step of the way. He already promised that his liege, the man he loved, would never be taken from him again.
It wasn’t long before the two were dashing down the stairs and back to the kingdom of heroes below. Kiran smiled softly at the sweet sight and Feh hooted in approval as the two lovebirds ran onward with their hands clasped tightly.
Perhaps cavorting around Askr in costume wasn’t so bad if he had someone by his side to pass the seasons, and years with.
--END--
There are too many ideas here. There are gaps in logic and reasoning. It’s super messy, really cliché and beyond repetitive in terms of language.
Most importantly, it was really fun to try something new. I don’t know how well I pulled it off, but I had an absolute blast writing it.
I noticed on my reread that I tend to use…a lot of the localized dialogue. I do really love Ben Diskin as Jakob’s English voice (I love Junichi Suwabe too, of course), so I think I tend to drift toward some lines more than others. If the localized lines are too heavy-handed, I’ll try to be more neutral.
Also, going back to Heroes, if Jakob is with F!Corrin, and H!Jakob is with NewYears!Corrin, and Felicia is with M!Corrin…what am I going to do about Summer!Corrin?
Well…I’ll worry about that when her tanned butt finally comes home from the beach and I can actually summon her. Until then, we’re all square.
Thanks for reading, and I look forward to seeing you again next time!

That Bastard Son
Pairing: Gen, but we all know what’s up. Words: 1.5k Rating: T, for suicidal ideation. It’s pretty casual and brief, but sincere.  A/N: I’ve recently come to terms that I find seth really relatable, so I guess I’m trying to redeem his fool ass to myself. whatever. title is from here.  Tags: let me know if you want to be tagged  @sleeplessandcynical @breadclubrising @kidvoodoo @205-live
“I think I actually want to die,” Seth tells Sarah on a Tuesday. Sarah is his therapist. She’s cool, he guesses, for someone he’s been paying for six months to help him deal with himself. He wouldn’t get a beer with her. Maybe go look at shelter dogs, or something. She’s that type of cool.
“You sound pretty casual about that,” Sarah says. She doesn’t write anything down, but that’s because she doesn’t have a notepad. She doesn’t really look anything like the therapists in movies do, which is kind of why Seth picked her to begin with. He’d thought that maybe it’d be more like just talking to a friend, instead of someone trained to crack his skull open like an egg.
It’s really not like talking to a friend at all. Seth’s only cried once in front of a friend, and he and Finn didn’t talk about it afterwards. Seth’s cried in front of Sarah more than thirteen times, and she always makes him talk it through when he can talk at all.
In some ways, having a therapist is a lot like wrestling. It hurts pretty much all the time, and feels incredible maybe an eighth of it. But the incredible part is worth it, somehow. Actually, now that he’s thinking it through, most of his hobbies have to do with feeling really shitty for a majority of the activity and high as a kite on the outcome. He’ll mention that to Sarah when he remembers.
"I think it’s been an ongoing situation and I’m just used to it,” Seth says musingly, leaning forward so he can prop his forearms on his knees. When he’d first started therapy, he’d sat up ramrod straight, like he was going to get points off for bad posture. Sarah had told him, in no uncertain terms, that you couldn’t win at therapy, and even if you could it wouldn’t be because of sitting, and then sat on top of her desk.
“Well,” Sarah tells him bracingly, “it’s not great, but at least it’s not an active death wish. Can you remember when you started feeling like that?”
She doesn’t watch wrestling. It’s another one of the reasons that Seth chose her. It definitely made sense at the time, but now he kind of wishes that she did watch wrestling. He doesn’t have an easy way to tell her that trying to get Hunter to fight him is definitely something of an active death wish.
“I guess-- oh. You know, actually, I’m going to go out on a limb here and say that this might be my brain finally figuring some stuff out.”
“Very mysterious,” She says. “You know I work hourly, right? Like, there’s an appointment after yours.”
“You’re the worst therapist ever,” Seth lies. She’s the best person he’s ever met, probably. “I’m going to be fighting my boss soon. And, uh, I guess I just realized that it’s at least a little bit his fault that my life sucks? I mean, it’s also my fault, because I’m the-”
She gives him a stern look. It’s apparently against the therapist code of honor to let him shit talk himself. It usually helps, but in this case it’s pretty inconvenient.
“-- Because I had poor self esteem, and I let him manipulate me, so I-- I just.”
“You turned your back on your two best friends and brothers-in-arms to get a guaranteed advancement in a company that you love?”
Seth looks at her, betrayed. Sarah looks unabashed.
“I thought you didn’t watch wrestling,” Seth mumbles, kicking his heel petulantly against the couch. The couch doesn’t do anything back, which actually makes him feel a little bad.
“I don’t. Seth, you know that I can and do Google everyone I work with. Not only am I nosy, I also like to be good at my job.”
Seth guesses that’s fair. He also likes to be good at his job. Googling your clients is probably the therapist version of watching 26 straight hours of Daniel Bryan matches.
“I don’t like it,” Seth says, sucking in his cheeks. He feels like a toddler, kind of, but Sarah is all about sharing his feelings and he is feeling this particular one very strongly.
“I’m sorry.” She tells him forthrightly. “I should have told you that I was going to. I wasn’t ever going to not do it, but I shouldn’t have sprung it on you like that.”
Seth blinks. He’s a little surprised by the quality of the apology. Maybe they teach that in therapist school. Wrestling school definitely left out good apologies.
“I-- thank you, that actually makes me feel a little bett-- Oh.”
“Oh?” She always does this. She’s pretty good at realizing when he has realizations.
“I think that I feel kind of-- I think I owe them an apology? I guess?”
“Is that a question? I’m pretty sure you know how you’re feeling on this one.”
He makes a face at her, and she grimaces back at him comically. She really gets him.
“I feel guilty,” Seth says slowly. “About how all of that went down. I’m not-- I don’t think I’m sorry for.. For doing what I did. Not exactly. I loved being champion, and I deserved it, but I think-- I was scared of them leaving me behind, so I left first and doubled down and that was wrong.” He peeks at her to make sure that he’s saying the right stuff.
Sarah looks thoughtful, and kind of like she’s processing what she’s going to say. It’s the most Seth’s said in basically one breath all session, so he’s happy to give her a second.
“It sounds like you feel that you owe them an apology,” She’s picking around her words in a way that she usually doesn’t. Usually, when Sarah talks like a therapist, it means that he’s really close to either an extremely good realization or an extremely bad one. Much like professional wrestling, there are very few mediocre moments in therapy.
“Yeah.” Seth says, more to himself than to her. “I would do it different, if I could, and since I can’t change it I want to apologize for it.” He looks up at her, brows furrowed. She’s perched on the arm of her chair with her chin propped up on her palm. “I don’t know how to apologize. I don’t think I’ve ever meant a single apology I’ve given.”
She nods, echoing his ‘yeah’, and then adding, “I think most people don’t. We fall out of the habit of saying sorry when we’re kids and we stop knocking people’s blocks over.”
“Can you-- is there a... Class? An apology class?” It sounds stupid as soon as it’s out of his mouth, but he doesn’t take it back because he really means it. Sarah is a proponent of the no stupid questions brand of therapy, and Seth is going to make her walk the walk.
“No one can teach you to give an apology that you feel, Seth,” She says, strangely serious. “People can tell when apologies are sincere. If you want your apology to be accepted, you’re going to have to really think about what to say and how.”
“That sucks,” Seth tells her, and he really means that, too.
“Yeah. Life would be a lot easier if there was an easy answer for everything.”
The contemplate that together, for a second, before she unfolds herself like origami and claps her hands on her thighs.
“We’re done for today?” Seth guesses, also standing and wiping his hands on the outside thighs of his jeans. His palms are so sweaty. Therapy always makes him clammy, even though he never really feels that anxious.
“We’re done for today,” Sarah agrees, herding him towards the door. She’s five foot nothing, but she makes a hell of a sheepdog.
Before he can fully reach the door, she stops him, one hand on the knob.
“Do you still want to die, Seth?” She asks him, and her tone is serious. He looks at her, and she looks back.
“No,” Seth says after a long moment. “I think I figured it out. I think I just want to move-- forward.”
“Good,” She says, and opens the door to let him out.
Seth walks to his car, feeling the kind of dazed he only ever feels after a hard session. It’s a washed-clean kind of emptiness, and he realizes that this is what people mean when they say a weight off your chest. He feels lighter, having a direction that he can go, even though he hasn’t actually taken a step yet.
His hands are shaking as he gets his phone out of his pocket and opens it up to the group text that he hasn’t touched since June 2nd of 2014.

Can we talk in person? I want to apologize. You don’t have to forgive me but I think you both deserve to hear me say it.

the first character i ever fell in love with: stares into the void as i down a whole bottle of vodka and sadly respond with noah foster.
a character that i used to love/like, but now do not: noah foster Haha. he’s not a bad character and it was fun to delve into that back when i wrote him, but my interests have definitely changed a lot since then to the point where i would never go for him if scream had aired today instead of a few years ago. i also just have bad memories associated with that character lmao.
a ship that i used to love/like, but now do not: honestly i didn’t really ship anything too passionately? i guess i don’t care about noah/riley or noah/zoe at all anymore. i’m here for the lady ships only.
my ultimate favorite character™: emma duval!
prettiest character: brooke maddox.
my most hated character: seth branson lmao fuck that guy.
my OTP: brooke/emma tbh! i love those girls.
my NOTP: audrey/noah i can’t believe people actually ship those two romantically.
favorite episode: in the trenches will never fail to be iconic.
saddest death: riley marra.
favorite season: one. i think season two had so much potential that didn’t fulfill what i personally wanted and that they could have done a lot more with certain storylines.
least favorite season: two.
character that everyone else in the fandom loves, but i hate: i wouldn’t say that i hate her because that’s a pretty strong word, but i don’t have much interest in audrey and i dislike how the general fandom acts as if she did nothing wrong in regards to the whole piper situation.
my ‘you’re a piece of trash, but you’re still a fave’ fave: lmao i guess jake would fi t this question but i wouldn’t call him a Favorite.
my ‘beautiful cinnamon roll who deserves better than this’ fave: emma duval!
my ‘this ship is wrong, nasty, and makes me want to cleanse my soul, but i still love it’ ship: n/a.
my ‘they’re kind of cute, and i lowkey ship them, but i’m not too invested’ ship: hm brooke/zoe i guess?

Send a character ask: Frank Castle, Lori Grimes, and Uncle Eddie
Frank Castle
First impression: I don’t really remember… :P I guess I thought he was pretty scary. lol Especially when he shot at Karen and Gotto at the hospital.
Impression now: I, like Karen Page, would risk my life to protect him. XD Okay seriously, I see what Karen sees, and there is both good and the bad there. I think Frank can be pretty wonderful when he’s not being murdery.
Favorite moment: It’s been a while since I watched either of the shows, but I love that whole moment with Karen at the diner when his face looks like ground beef and he’s telling Karen to hold on with two hands. lmfao wrong guy though.
Idea for a story: It’s not a fandom I write for, but I did have this idea where he and Karen have a kid later and I think they all go to an amusement park and ride the carousel and Frank is not okay but he walks away from that ride with his family still intact and it doesn’t replace what he lost but now he’s able to look to the future and yeah. Something like that. XD
Unpopular opinion: So… I didn’t hate what he had with Beth in s2 of the Punisher… I actually really liked her and their connection!! And if I didn’t already ship him with Karen I would’ve been alright with him staying with her.
Favorite relationship: Everything he has with Karen. But also his and Curtis’s friendship was so good!! He definitely needs someone to keep him grounded, and Curtis was so great at it.
Favorite headcanon: I’ve never thought about it. lol I don’t have any in mind.
Lori Grimes
First impression: I really don’t know. XD It’s been so long since I watched this show and maybe she didn’t really make much of an impression on me in those early episodes. haha I might’ve been a bit judgmental about her though… since I was already invested in Rick’s story and hoping to see them reunited, only to find out she was sleeping with his bff. Understandably though. She’d been through a lot and didn’t know Rick was still alive. And I mean, Shane was really fucking hot!! I don’t blame her. XD
Impression now: NGL I kind of hated her early on in the series. I didn’t love how she always seemed to attack Rick for making judgment calls for his and the group’s best interests when they’re the ones that put him in charge in the first place. I get it, she didn’t want him going after Merle. She was upset with him for killing Shane—which honestly her pushing Rick away for that when Shane definitely would’ve killed him kinda pissed me off. XD But even though I didn’t love everything about her or the choices she made, I do think my feelings about her have changed over the years, and I don’t think she’s nearly the villain people have made her out to be. I think she was just clinging to her family and watching everything fall apart all around her and just trying to make the best of it. I do think she kept the others focused on what was important even if she wasn’t always correct in her choices. She was flawed like any good character and made plenty of mistakes, but I don’t think she deserved to die for them.
Favorite moment: Caring for Beth after the barn incident. And again when she attempted suicide. And her line to Beth “I wish I could promise you it would be alright in the end. I can’t, but we can make now alright.”
Idea for a story: None. I don’t write for that fandom anymore.
Unpopular opinion: She was just doing her best… I honestly think a lot of the group became really cold after her death. And Rick was really unfair to her in s3. She deserved better.
Favorite relationship: I don’t think I have one… Maybe Lori and Beth. I think Beth really needed that friendship and guidance.
Favorite headcanon: I don’t have any.
Eddie Cruickshank
First impression: Kind of soured by Sonja’s presence, but I thought he was great. It was nice seeing Seth and Richie squirm in the presence of someone they considered an authority figure for once. XD
Impression now: The wasted potential. smh
Favorite moment: When he’s on the phone with Seth and cursing out Richie. lmfao The language was just so colorful. XD
Idea for a story: Well, it’s actually a sethkate fic. I always love reading AU stories where Eddie and Kate actually get to meet and there definitely are not enough of those imo. It’s so unfair they never met in the series. I have one fic I’ve been meaning to write where this happens, and it’s also a pregnancy situation… And then I have a document full of notes for a sethkate fic where Eddie becomes Kate’s guardian when she’s orphaned after her parents’ death. The theme song for it is “One Fine Day” by the Chiffons. :P
Unpopular opinion: I don’t think I have any. 🤔
Favorite relationship: Definitely Eddie and the boys. I have such a soft spot for characters like this that take in children that aren’t theirs and raise them as their own. THAT’S THEIR REAL DAD OKAY. T_T
Favorite headcanon: I mean, this probably isn’t true, but I like to think Seth’s habit of constantly taking in strays and becoming way too attached to them is something he picked up from Uncle Eddie. lol Ray tried to turn Peaches’ death into a teachable moment, but I can’t see how the lesson baby Seth learned there would have been anything other than “don’t get attached” tbh.

(Sorry had to do this in two asks.) Or my other idea, some angst and h/c. Seth and Dean are sharing a bed. One of them wakes up during the night to find the other gone. They start to get upset thinking they left. Only the other is just in the bathroom, getting something to eat or drink etc.
i fall to pieces (when i’m with you) (dean/seth) - 1.6k. - angst, h/c, insecurity, late night conversations (ao3 link)
Okay, this definitely got more angsty than I intended. Fair warning.
Dean should be used to waking up alone in cold, empty beds by now — but something’s just unsettling and wrong about it this time. Like, under his skin. Down inside his bones. He can feel it in the very depths of his actual being. Heart, soul, gut, intuition, whatever. It’s not a rational fear, he knows, but he doesn’t really care at this exact moment. Because something’s not right. On a fundamental level. Because Seth was right next to him when he fell asleep, and it’s the middle of the goddamn night, and now he’s not there anymore.
The fact of his sudden absence is like a jolt to the heart. He’s instantly completely awake and alert. Brain working on autopilot.
His phone’s still sitting on the nightstand, so he can’t have gone too far.
The bathroom light’s off, but he checks it anyway. No dice.
Aimlessly walking through the hotel corridors looking for him is probably a futile endeavour, he knows. He has to come back at some point. He checks the time and it’s a little after three. The witching hour, it registers absently in his head.
He thinks about just sitting and waiting for him to come back, but he’s too fucking antsy right now not to do something — Like pace a damn hole into the carpet while checking his phone for clues — Of course there’s nothing of any real use there — Damn it —
Just as he’s almost seriously considering calling the goddamn cops — he realises the door to the balcony is the slightest bit cracked open and he breathes an almost embarrassing sigh of relief.
He hadn’t even thought to check, because why would anyone in their right mind go outside at this godforsaken hour when most normal people are still curled up under three blankets and you probably couldn’t pay them enough to step one foot out of their soft, warm beds.
He grabs a hoodie because he’s sure it’s as cold as balls out there. He’ll never understand the weirdos who actually prefer fucking freezing to death over the alternative.
Seth apparently doesn’t seem to mind it, because he’s just sitting out there in a threadbare t-shirt and pajama pants, staring out into the grey nothingness.
“You scared me for a minute there,” Dean says, without warning, voice gruff. “Thought you’d been kidnapped by a cult or something.”
Seth jumps just the tiniest bit and he doesn’t actually feel that bad about it. Turnabout’s fair play and all.
“What the hell are you doing here?” he says, taking the other flimsy plastic chair on the small balcony, shoving his hands deep into the pockets of his hoodie to warm them up.
“Couldn’t sleep,” Seth says simply, but there’s something off about his tone and the way he averts his eyes. “Didn’t want to bother you with my endless tossing and turning.”
“It’s not just that, though,” Dean says with a pointed look in his direction.
“What do you mean?” Seth says, doing a pretty piss-poor job of feigning ignorance.
“You’ve been acting all skittish-like since — well, since you know what.” Since they finally gave in to the strange, irresistible electricity between them a couple weeks ago. The kissing part has been pretty fucking fantastic, and Seth seems to really dig it too — it’s all the stuff in between that’s been nagging at him, when he’s cagey and quiet and will hardly look at him even if he’s literally just had his tongue in his mouth.
“I’m — fine,” Seth insists, with an almost admirable lack of conviction.
Dean huffs a sigh. “You know, it’s way too fucking early for anything but total honesty. Can you just help me out here?” he says, practically a plea.
“I don’t know what you want from me,” Seth says, oddly defensive, and Dean can feel him slowly putting his guards back up again.
“Are you gonna tell me what’s really going on, or am I gonna have to resort to other measures to get you to spill it?”
Seth narrows his eyes at him. “I’m not sure if you mean that in a sexual way or a torture way. Which is kind of worrying, honestly.”
Dean shrugs. “Hey, I’m game for either one.”
Seth laughs, but it’s hollow.
“I stare at you while you sleep sometimes,” Seth admits, after a few moments of silence. “It’s kind of a problem.”
“Jesus,” Dean says. “Creepy much?”
“You said you wanted honesty,” Seth counters.
“Okay, fine, creepy confessions are good, too. No judgement.”
Seth laughs softly again, but it’s richer, more genuine this time. “I used to do it before, too. When we were all cramped in one room and you always said you’d take the floor but as soon as I offered, you’d end up hogging all the blankets —”
“I did not,” Dean argues, but it’s weak at best.
“I used to think about how lucky I was,” Seth continues. “To have you. But it wasn’t enough — I always wanted more.”
“What do you want now?” Dean asks him quietly.
“It’s not that simple,” Seth says, shaking his head.
“Why not? You asked me that same thing once.”
He knows Seth remembers: they were in the ring and he was walking away from Dean, again, and he couldn’t let it happen. And he’d just stared at him, wordless, helpless, before Seth had uttered the words. What do you want? Like it was that easy. Because it was, somehow. Because his answer was what it had always been: this, them, Seth and him standing side-by-side again.
“It’s not the same,” Seth tells him, almost apologetically. “You don’t fuck things up just by wanting them too hard.”
“Is that what happened — before?” Dean asks carefully.
“I knew I would fuck it up eventually — that you’d finally realise I was just a selfish asshole all along. That I wasn’t worth any of it. So I ended it before that could happen.”
It’s the first time Seth’s said any of this to him. And three years ago, Dean had been dying for an explanation — a reason — something, anything. Something to alleviate the pain, something to absolve him of his own guilt and self-loathing. But now, it doesn’t even matter. It doesn’t make anything better. It was Seth’s fault. And it was his fault too — for not seeing it. Seeing the signs when he thought he knew him better than anyone, better than even himself.
“You didn’t even give us a chance —” Dean says, feeling all that old frustration and regret and hopelessness rising up in him again. Goddammit, Seth, we could’ve fixed it — if you’d just let us —
“I know. And I — I thought it would be different this time. I was so desperate not to do anything to ruin it all again. And I was so happy. I didn’t think I could be that happy again —” Seth’s voice cracks at the end, and he just squeezes his eyes shut for a moment, head bowed.
“And then what happened?” Dean asks, apprehensively.
“Then you — you just kissed me, out of the blue, in the middle of a deserted parking lot,” Seth says, eyes wide and staring far away now, almost in awe, like he still can’t actually believe it. “And it was fucking terrifying. Because I just wanted it so much —”
“God, Seth —” Dean breathes.
“I just — I still don’t know if I deserve it,” he murmurs, so softly, almost to himself.
“What?”
“You,” he says, without any hesitation, finally turning to firmly hold his gaze.
Dean is actually speechless for a moment, which is admittedly quite a difficult feat to accomplish.
He licks his lips, swallows hard as he tries to collect his thoughts, string his words together again.
“Uh, so this is actually kind of a lot of honesty for so early, you know —” he finally manages to get out.
“Sorry, I just —”
Dean can feel Seth retreating back into himself again, and it’s the last thing he wants.
“No — don’t be sorry. I just — I don’t really know how to do this either. I kissed you because I wanted to. I know that. I want to do lots of things with you. And I never thought I’d get the chance either. But we’re — we’re still fucking here, you know? Even after doing enough stupid shit to probably get us killed fifty times over. I’d say that counts as a win.”
Seth gives him his first true smile then. It’s funny, how Seth smiling at him like that can still steal his breath away, even after all this time.
“Uh — So, what else do you want?” he asks, almost shyly.
“I want to wake up and know that you’re still there, for one,” he says earnestly. “I want you to talk to me. Even if I’m fucking awful at it.”
“Okay,” Seth promises, looking him right in the eyes. “No more running away from shit.”
Dean reaches out and takes Seth’s hand then. It’s surprisingly warm to the touch. He presses the back of his hand to his own cheek for a second, then brings it to his mouth and brushes a kiss over his knuckles before intertwining Seth’s fingers with his own in his lap.
“I’m sorry about before,” Seth tells him after a beat. “If I freaked you out or anything —”
“It’s okay,” Dean reassures him. “We’re okay. That’s all that matters.”
Dean wonders if they’re just going to stay out here until the sun rises. He finds that, somehow, he really doesn’t mind the idea at all. As long as Seth’s next to him, it seems like he’s willing to put up with pretty much anything.
“You know,” Dean says casually. “As long as it’s still ass-o'clock in the morning and we’re doing this whole honesty thing —”
“Yeah?” Seth asks tentatively.
“I like you a lot,” Dean tells him seriously. “It’s kind of a problem.”
Seth just smiles even brighter at him and squeezes his hand tighter.

I honestly want to read all of your answer for those asks. 1-40? Or those you like the most c:
UHM HONESTLY THIS IS MY FAVOURITE ASK EVER !!!!!
Because I don’t have time to answer all 40, I’m going to give you TEN randomly picked questions from the list and answer below ~!
(thank you random number picker!!!!)
AND BE WARNED – THIS WILL PROBABLY GET LENGTHY.
40. Do you think the movies did the books justice?
Yes and no. I will stand forever and die on the Catherine-Hardwicke-Did-It-Best hill. Above them all, I’d say that Catherine captured the essence of the books the most accurately. Maybe it’s the blue filter, I don’t know, but she got that creepy/sad/romantic Forks vibe that drew me into the series in the first place. She really got the perfect balance of romance, action, fantasy, high school, the whole thing. So yeah, I think she did a great job with the books. Chris Weitz did alright with New Moon – I love the brownish, jacob-y vibe, I think they adapted the script well and did a fan-fucking-tastic job on the soundtrack too, so that one would be my second favourite book-to-movie. The other two? Eh. I think they lost something that the books had. Eclipse WAS my favourite when it first came out but watching them now, I feel like the last three movies are just missing something wonderful that the first two movies and the first three books (sorry bd) had.
28. How would you personally rewrite Twilight?
For those of you who haven’t seen it, I have a bit up on my personal twilight rewrite idea up here! It’s a little bare bones in terms of what I’d do with breaking dawn, but I can elaborate on that here!
Going with the rest of my switch-new-moon-and-eclipse-au, I’d have Bella changed and conflicted starting in BD. I think it would be SUPER interesting to have the main conflict be something to do with the volturi and the shape shifters. Maybe the clan and the pack finally join forces bc Bella is changed but still loves her Jake, but out in the world shapeshifters are showing up dead at the volturi’s hand or something ??????? and they need to band together to save the wolves and Jake before the volturi eliminate the species altogether.
Could be interesting, IDK. There’s a lot less renesmess and an opportunity still for Jake to meet Benjamin so I’m all for it.
37. What’s your perspective on Twilight now compared to when you first read it?
I think about this all the fucking time. When I first read Twilight, it was just before the first movie came out in 2008. I was almost twelve years old, and dumber than most twelve year olds, lbr. I didn’t see any issues in the book. I thought it was novel (pun intended), and romantic, and Hell, come Breaking Dawn I was even all aboard the Nessie train. I was SM brainwashed, kind of. I trusted our author. Coming back to Twilight in 2019 was a literal fucking shock to the system. I watched the movies for the first time in like five years, and was utterly shocked by the ample fucking problematic shit I noticed in every fucking scene. What hurt the most? Realizing my favourite character was the worst fucking show of racist propaganda in the entire goddamn series. I got angry when I watched the series again for the first time. I didn’t want anything to do with it. I felt ashamed, honestly. I felt bad looking at the piece of media, and seeing how twisted and disgusting and wrong so many parts of it were. But then I went online. I knew Twilight was becoming a thing again, and I didnt understand how such problematic media worked in this day in age, so I was curious to see what the discourse was like. Guys, I’m so fucking glad I did. There’s something so nice about being able to clearly see and discuss issues in this saga, while still appreciating that it digs into your nostalgia and has the opportunity to be so much bigger and better than SM ever intended. I love signing on here and seeing someone discuss our HCs – seeing how people take these characters and stretch and shift and mold them to embody what the world looks like today. I love coming here to read about favourites portrayed as characters of colour, or how said characters could be portrayed as trans,  or nb, or gay, or how this character could be better shown as A, B, C – you catch my drift. It’s not just that, either. It’s not just the changes that I appreciate, either.
There’s something about acknowledging the things that can’t be changed within the original text – starting conversations about the treatment of native characters, discussing the portrayal of females presenting characters, working through SM’s religious biases – that not only helps me appreciate what this text should have been / can be now, but seriously, has helped me learn a lot along the way. I’m a very faulty white girl. Coming here and learning new perspectives from people who are impacted by specific biases / choices made in this series has been one of the most eye opening experiences I’ve had online. And that’s another thing – I’ve never once been criticized for still having so much to learn, un-learn, or understand from a different perspective. The people in this fandom (so far – I feel very lucky) have been more than open in discussing their criticisms, concerns, and understandings in a way that makes me feel welcome, and encouraged to learn/understand more. It’s a super inclusive fandom –  freakin’ rare to see – but it’s also the kind of fandom that isn’t afraid to see its own faults – that’s even more rare. We’re all aware of our fandom’s problems, and we aren’t afraid to talk about them, or acknowledge the fact that SM’s beliefs aren’t a reflection of US. It’s special. It’s amazing. It’s why I’ve stuck around for almost a year now.
3. Fave headcanon brotps?
Oh, dude. Seth / Edward Jake / Emmett Emmett / Paul Charlie / Billy Bella / Emmett Rose / Leah Carlisle / Sam Alice / Jake
30. Which characters do you wish had their own spinoffs?
Oof. I think it would be SUPER interesting to have a whole spin-off series just on the wolves, actually! Not one in particular, but I think the whole world of shapeshifters could and SHOULD be explored more deeply!!!!!In terms of specific characters: Alice (duh), Carlisle (take me back to the 1800s or some shit show me his life in the volturi!!!!!), Leah Clearwater (she’d be my wolf-pack-spin-off main character).
15. Top 5 fave vampires?
IN NO PARTICULAR ORDER:
Alice, Jasper, Esme, Emmett, Rose.Yeah, they’re all Cullens. Suck my Olympic-sized dick.
9. Astrology sign headcanons for the Cullens?
YEEEEEEEES. I am very stuck in my opinions for these, and I’m not sure why. It’s pointless, but I care VERY DEEPLY. Carlisle: Capricorn Esme: Pisces Edward: Gemini / Cancer cusp is perfect for this S.O.B.Bella: VirgoRosalie: ScorpioEmmett: Sagittarius Alice: Aries Jasper: Taurus (but I go back and forth on Jasper daily so ask me again tomorrow)
13. Hogwarts house sorting headcanons for the wolf pack?
I’ve never considered this before, so this is first-instinct. Sam: Slytherin Paul: SlytherinEmbry: Gryffindor Quil: GryffindorJake: Gryffinpuff?? the man is brave, but he’s loyal to a GD fault. I think that might just be the wolfy traits comin’ through though. Leah: RavenclawSeth: Hufflepuff(just doin’ these guys to keep it simple)
20. Pick a character you wish deserved a better fate (that wasn’t death).
Bree. Fucking. Tanner.
Any chance I get to write something, I add in a redemptive arc for Bree Tanner because I can’t for the life of me understand out of all the characters why fucking SM decided to kill the one that DEFINITELY deserved a fucking soft and perfect life.
Fuck you SM, Bree is alive and well.
1. Fave wlw ships?
!!! YAY !!! Leah / Angela Bella / Rosalie Carmen / Esme AND THEN JUST BECAUSE I CAN: Edythe / Bella Jessamine  / Alice Carmine / Esme Julie / Leah Julie / Bella
