a reader who’s genuinely more powerful than Alastor is. maybe they’re royalty or another overlord or maybe they simply just have a more commanding presence than him, but in any way, he hates it. he goes out of his way to try to one-up them (much like how he did with Lucifer), but the reader never falters, ever-calm and ever-in control. it infuriates Alastor to no end— not only because of the simple fact that he isn’t the strongest person in the room anymore, but also because the reader never treats him like he’s lesser than them. they treat him like an equal, and it makes him even angrier.

when they fuck for the first time, it’s a last-ditch attempt for Alastor to regain control— and it fails, because even though Alastor is on top with his nails digging into the reader’s skin, doing his very best to cause the pain he knows he can cause, the reader still just stares up at him, taking it like they always do. no tears fall from their eyes, no pleads fall from their lips. Alastor is dissatisfied— very much so. so they do it again. and again. and again, until it’s something of a game between them. until one day, the reader’s composure finally shatters.

they’ve had enough of Alastor’s attitude and disrespect, and they tell him as much. they pin him down, snarling about his god complex and his twisted sadism and how long they’ve been waiting to put him in his place. and Alastor finds that no matter how much he struggles, he can’t get that control that had been so rudely snatched from him back. but the thing is— a part of him likes it. really, really likes it— that loss of power that should be his and his alone, being held just out of his petulant reach. it brings him a sick feeling that he’s never felt before and can’t get enough of.

that part grows and grows until he’s the one crying and begging and squirming weakly underneath the reader, both his smile and his mind threatening to break as the reader fucks him relentlessly. no matter how many times either of them cums, the reader doesn’t stop, not until Alastor is screaming his apologies, over and over and over again. he hates it. he loves it.

when it’s all over, and when the reader has settled, Alastor makes them promise that they will never speak of this again. without a hint of smugness, the reader agrees— but maybe the next time Alastor is acting up, the reader will only have to give him a look. and he will know.

They know they aren’t from here, we all know that, but telling them they are most unnatural creature to ever exist in Hell? And I don’t think it was an accident you knocked their drink over. Al, you are being a bully.” Yes, and he was sorry. Sorry he was so ineffective. Not even a fucking knitted brow so much as flashed at him when he spilled your drink down your chest. You smiled, you had the audacity to smile at him and say, “Whoops. Your monocle isn’t prescription, huh?” He only had one option left to push you beneath him—-rip you to pieces. Any thing to get you to look at him differently than all the other weak souls mulling about in hell.

Alastor had seen you fight, when an overlord came to the hotel to taste seraphim blood, all of the Pride Ring saw your power. Arms out stretched, a glow came from your palms, yellow and bright. With the speed of someone enjoying a breakfast on the patio on a Sunday in hell, you knelt down and pressed your palms into the ground. A flash of light and power rung out from you and blinded everyone watching, but Alastor could see you as he melted into the deepest shadows your light created. White and gold glowing shards erupted from the dirt, fracturing the grounds of the hotel lawn as they formed a jagged but intelligent line straight for the demon. The overlord barely recovered from the blinding effect of your power before a glass-like piece shot from the ground and straight through his chest. It was over in seconds, and you had never dropped your soft grin.

He was prideful, but not stupid. A test, a little experiment first. When you watched sweetly from the sidelines and Charlie directed yet another meaningless activity, Alastor stood opposite you. Your eyes flitted from person to person, your smile small but genuine. Were you glowing? He had had enough. He reached his shadow appendages out and wrapped one around your ankle, as it gripped and prepared to drag you to the floor in what he hoped would be an embarrassing display, nothing happened. As the tentacle touched you, it dissipated. Your light entirely erasing the shadow.

He felt his mind breaking. Every night he paced, feeling your overwhelming presence in the hotel even at such a distance. He decided to try the one thing he’d never tried. Atleast, not since coming to hell. You were always so accommodating, maybe to a fault? He found you in kitchen, alone, making yourself some sickeningly sweet drink. Your body froze when Alastor pressed against you from behind. But, you didn’t make a sound. “Apologies, I don’t think I can suffer any longer.” He ground his hips into your ass, “I never do this, a gentleman through and through. But you see, as a deer demon, sometimes there are periods of—- unbearable discomfort. I can’t focus on redemption like this.”

Alastor was shocked when you swiveled around, eyes closed from your smile, and said, “I came here to help. What can I do?”

He couldn’t understand it. Bent over the counter in the common area, his nails cutting lines down your sides that healed with a frustrating speed, you just sighed into him. Little moans, soft exhales. He slammed your hips against him, the sound ringing through the kitchen. But still, your eyes were closed but not clenched. Your sounds small and even. Your resolve finally snapped, however, when Alastor stepped past a line he didn’t know you had. Alastor had you, uncharacteristically, in your bed. Oky, here we go:

-When Charlie does something wrong, she'll ask Vaggie to put her in time out, and if Vaggie tells her that she doesn't need to go to time out, Charlie will still go because she feels bad.

She'll feel guilty and overwhelmed by whatever it is, and she just wants things to be okay again.

She's never really bad. She just gets overwhelmed or overexcided, and then she makes mistakes.

But she personally can't ever let that go, even when little she's far too hard on herself ��️🫂

-Emily hates being sent to time out! She'll listen and stay where she's told, but she'll pout the whole entire time! That'll show um'!

Ha!

-Velvette will not stay in time out! Vox can't make her! She'll get up and play, then Vox will have to drag her back in time out again and and again until she stays for the full five minutes.

It ends up taking hours when it literally could have lasted 5 minutes if she listened the first time.

-Vaggie normally acts out when she's just overwhelmed. So Charlie will usually just sit with her quietly until she calms down, and then she'll talk to her about whatever it is that happened.

-Vox will get very mad or upset if he's not able to convince Vel or Val to change their mind. He always tries to negotiate and talk himself out of things.

When he's not able to, he'll throw an even bigger tantrum. Whether sadly or angry.

-Valentino would just find something to chew on or cause destruction where he is...

Or he'll leave to find something.

He learns nothing!! 😈

-Pentious would cry the whole time. He hates disappointing people. Even if he doesn't believe whatever he did was wrong, he'll cry until it's over.

Then, getting him to apologize afterward can be really easy or really hard depending on whether or not he genuinely thinks he did something wrong.

(Eg: if he fought with Angel, but Angel was the one to start it, he won't take accountability so easily.)

-Lute: Lute doesn't often get "Time out" but when she starts to act out or get fussy, they'll put her down for a nap, and she'll usually be fine.

-Adam: Will pout and complain the whole time, asking how much longer he has to stay and when he can come out constantly.

-Cherri: seems to have the idea that she doesn't go down for small offenses.

So, if she's sent to "time out" or if she gets disciplined at all, she'll do something much much worse so she'll feel like she accomplished something worth being punished over.

Angel:

Angel tends to act out a lot. Sometimes, because he doesn't know how to express how he's feeling, and sometimes it's because he wants to test Husk or Charlie's willpower, see how long it'll take for them to give up.

They never do, but he's convinced they will eventually.

So he'll keep trying to leave time out and cause problems until he breaks down and starts crying hysterically.

Then Husk will comfort him until he's calmed down, then they'll talk it through.

But when Angel is older, he'll sit there silently, but the issue will bother him for a while until it comes crashing down because he'll refuse to talk about it until then.

HEAVEN TIME!!

Okay sooooo a lot of this was put in place before the show dropped so some of it seems really kind of out there. Sorry. ALSO i am aware that technically archangels are not a high ranking of angel but i am stealing paradise lost canon again for that. So there are the seven (eight if you count luci, another was made after he fell to even out the roster) archangels and then right underneath them are the seraphim and there are lots of seraphim. Also exterminators aren’t heavenborn they are just people who died and then signed up for the program, removal of your left eye is a key part of initiation for exterminators, and they are very knights templar-esque in their uniforms

Adam:

I think hes the most important to start with so. Adam, I do not like him in canon at ALL sorry, in this he’s still kind of a dingus but he’s genuinely quite nice. Funny middle aged divorced man who shows up to meetings late on purpose and dresses like Adam Sandler no matter the occasion,,, hes the embodiment of the Are Ya Winning Son? Meme. Im going with Paradise Lost canon yet again here in that he is head over heels for Eve and only ate the apple after she did so they could get the death penalty together. He is sort of a paralell to Luci in the sense that he is also distant from his family but where with Luci it is a self imposed isolation spurred on by depression with Adam its just that he isnt good at conecting with them.

He and Eve really drifted apart after the Cain incident and, while they are on good terms, they are like super divorced. He doesn’t know how to talk to Abel (who lives close to his mom in what is basically Heaven’s suburbs) and he only gets to see Cain on extermination day, and Cain really just. Doesn’t want to talk to him. So Adam is in a pickle. He was put in charge of the exterminations shortly after he died to kind of just like, give him something to do and he genuinely does a very good job at it. He sees it as getting back at Luci in a way.

Adam hates Lucifer with like his entire being, Adam is a very chill guy, he doesn’t dislike much of anyone, but he hates Lucifer. He hates him for the Eden thing and he also blames him for the Cain thing so any chance he can take to hurt him is good. Unfortunately Lucifer literally could not care less about the sinners dying so. Theres that.

Then canon roles around and suddenly Lucifer’s “daughter” (due to the nature of Charlie’s birth and the fact that Adam has never met her he doesn’t really buy that she’s a sentient being and not just a mouthpiece for Luci) wants to bring sinners into Heaven which is something that just reeks of foul play to Adam, he will not lose his second go at Paradise to God’s least favorite son, something needs to be done. He takes it to Sera (his boss, technically, more on that later) and she gives him clearance to pretty much do whatever he wants (she was not given the full story!!! Just that Luci is “acting suspicious”) so Adam kind of starts. Meddling

He wants to stop the hotel and he wants Charlie dead. Like honest to goodness he wants to kill her. Hes telling Lute (the only other person who knows the full details of this mission) and himself that its for the good of Heaven but really its just some kind of vengeance, Lucifer took his kids, why shouldn’t he give what he gets? Eventually like, season three climax would be the exterminators absolutely wrecking the hotel and like taking Charlie hostage. Adam is having second thoughts when shes actually like tied up and bleeding out though, he like kinda snaps out of his frenzy hes worked himself into and has a little Just A Man from Epic The Musical moment yknow. But whats done is done, no turning back now, right?

Lute:

Lute is exceedingly different that in canon because I wrote all of my stuff for them before we knew anything about them as a character. They are from ancient greece now. More specifically Sparta.

When they died they were very eager to sign up for the extermination program, a warrior at heart and eager to do good. They quickly caught Adam’s eye and they like, surprisingly quickly rose through the exterminator ranks to Lieutenant (Lute) (Nickname that Adam gave them because try as he might he cannot pronounce their (dead)name.)

They are like Charlie’s age, both in the sense that they are both early twenties and in the sense that they are both ~2000, they and Adam have kind of like, almost father and child thing, Adam is the goofy divorced dad who listens to pearl jam and Lute is the daughter who has to listen to it on the way to swim practice.

Lute is very strategical, Lute is very serious, Lute feels like they have a lot to prove (especially being one of the few high ranking people in Heaven who isnt either heavenborn or someone of Biblical Importance) less so than they did when they were new, but the itchings of anxiety are still somewhere in there. They are extremely devoted to Heaven’s cause and Adam, though they are having second thoughts about Adams hostility towards the princess by like, mid season three.

Adam (reluctantly, might I add) sent them down to the hotel for a “diplomacy mission” (spying) for a week or two early on in the season and they found that they actually can relate to Charlie? They both want to do whats best for their people and they both have major imposter syndrome (and they both know Vallie, which is awkward, (vallie was apart of Lutes like, personal squadron, kind of an exterminator elite guard before she fell) Lute and Vallie dont hate eachother by any means but the last time they were in a room together they were literally trying to kill eachother so its. weird) but Lute just, isnt as convinced on the prospect of Charlie being some kind of literal puppet for the devil? Adam shoots down her concerns about this though, hes the devil he is the king of lies and deceit, Lute, thats just what he wants you to think, trust me, I know how he works, Ive dealt with him, its okay.

Also they transitioned while in Heaven and asked Adam to set up their top surgery under the guise of like, improving their combat capabilites (he absolutely knew he was just humoring them, I love and adore him if you didnt know)

Eve:

Eve is so cool. She isnt a major character because she is extremely disinvolved with the workings of Heaven, like, purely by choice. She lives somewhere in like, the Primum Mobile ring and has a garden and likes when Emily or the other Heavenborn visit her. Abel lives somewhere close by and he has some sheep. She rarely travels into the Empyrean (the capital city) and just. Shes hanging out.

She was absolutely the main person behind her and Adams divorce, she just really fell out of it after a while, she doesnt hold anything against him she just. Isnt interested in a romance with him. She also has far less of a grudge against Lucifer than Adam (she blames herself more than anything) and thinks that Adam should like. chill out. (Its not good to hold onto hatred for so long, you know.)(Do you forgive him?)(…no.)(Exactly. He isnt sorry, he doesnt deserve forgiveness, Eve.)

Sera:

Similar to canon except that like, she isnt antagonistic, shes a big cool angel lady who is technically in charge of the exterminations because she is in charge of like, soul circulation. In this au souls who are purged in the Cleanse get thrust back out into the reincarnation zone (hell doesnt know this, Luci never cared enough to ask and there have been no communications between like, anyone else) (heaven souls can also be reincarnated but its a voluntary process, you might ask if this causes like, an imbalance of any kind, with there being far more “evil souls” in circulation, the answer is no, new souls are also freshly created often) this technically puts her in charge of the whole affair, she appointed Adam to help her out and regrets it every day /silly

She isnt keeping the cleanse a secret because in her mind there is no moral issue to keep secret, though it isnt something thats like, advertised, it is perfectly reasonable to think that a lot of people in Heaven dont know about it. She probably would not take well to Adam’s hostility towards Charlie if she knew the full situation but as far as she knows its just a Lucifer plot and she trusts Adam to sort that out. Maybe she shouldnt! He is very biased!

Emily:

Shes also not a huuuggee character, shes one of the youngest Seraphim and the most involved with the ascended soul population as shes the only seraphim to not predate humanity. Shes silly, she likes Adam a lot hes like a funny uncle who your parents dont like. She mostly hangs out in the residential area of the Empyrean just. Hanging out, she doesnt have a whole lot of official duties besides keeping morale up, though teeecchhhniically shes supposed to help Sera with soul regulation by keeping a handle on blessed souls who want to reincarnate by sending them to Sera. Shes also friends with Molly just because I think thats cute.

Molly:

Im including her!!! You cant stop me!!! Shes angel’s twin sister! She is technically the youngest out of the Ragno siblings and also died second, shortly after Angel. She was very close with her twin in life and while she accepts that her oldest brother and father are probably both in Hell shes holding out hope that Angel is just taking a long time to get through Purgatory. (he is not) (shes starting to have less and less faith in this idea)

She lives in the inner part of the Empyrean with her mom and a couple other non-immediate family members that landed up there. Heaven doesnt really have any kind of currency so like, shops arent as much of a thing as like say, markets where you can trade knick knacks for other kick knacks (there is an unlimited supply of goods of all kinds but like, if you want like a handknit scarf and you want to trade a windchime you mde for one just pop down to the market) but she is running a small sort of beauty parlor thing close to the Centrum (basically heaven town hall, where the Seraphim and Archangels get access to the Abode Of God and also just hold other important matters) thats decently popular. Shes very nice if a little overbearing, has a temper though, also a bit of a prankster when the situation permits (something she picked up from Angel when they were kids), absolutely figured out that Angel wasnt into girls a long time before the actual news came out. She deduced this through years of trying to set him up with girls and her efforts turning up squat. Shes very supportive she is still mad at Arackniss for siding with their dad during the Initial Incident.

Micheal:

Hes the only archangel with any like. Major importance. Hes Lucifers twin brother and the highest ranking archangel since Lucis banishment. He was the main force to take down Lucifers rebellion back when that all happened (i hate viv canon he was banished from heaven because he launched a COUP not because he was silly or something. Hes the devil. Stop woobifying him let him have done something bad. He can regret it, he DOES regret it but he is not a poor little victim he started a civil war.) and would probably show up at the end of season three to like negotiate some kind of peace deal with Charlie. He would not have met Charlie prior to this incedent but he really likes her honestly, its been a few millenia he isnt as upset with Luci anymore, certainly not upset with his daughter who has proven to be nothing but virtuous and kind.

But also before this he would show up in Lucifer flashbacks, mainly one where hes arguing with Charlie mid/late season one and it would like be cutting in and out of a flashback to Luci and Micheal arguing about Gods favoritism of Adam and Lilith (very new, having just been dropped in Eden, fighting had not yet occured and Lilith and Luci had not yet met eachother, they would not meet until after Lucifer falls to Hell and Lilith dies as punishement for abandoing Eden) and the argument would be like, Luci and Charlie fighting about the fate of the sinners and the ethics of the Cleanse paralleling Luci and Micheal fighting over Killing The Humans because they Suck and Dad Likes Them More Than Us and it would like culminate in a “They dont deserve to die!” where Charlie AND flashback Micheal say that and Lucifer being like, woah, its happening agaiiiiinnn im messing up agaaiiinnnn shes just like micheal and im going to lose her tooooooo and kind of like. Having a little bit of a breakdown. Hes so mentally ill

Also im assigning all the Archangels colors of the rainbow just because. Luci is red and Micheal is blue. None of the others are especially important.

So, if you don't mind, I was thinking about that asshole who was rude on your Thessaly post by insisting that Morpheus is meant to be a bad person. I'm curious if you could expand on why you think he's not. I keep going back and forth on my own rereads, especially since the Thessaly relationship and The Kindly Ones writing seem to try and push in a "he IS a bad person" direction. I can't tell if my arguments that "he's just flawed and mentally ill" are fangirl goggles or legit interpretation.

Hey! I don't mind. So when I first got that comment, initially I thought the response was genuine, because it's been a while since anyone has responded to one of my posts in a bad faith way. I frantically tried to wrap my brain around the idea that I had missed something somewhere and that I was supposed to view Morpheus as a "bad person" because even after The Kindly Ones that has never been my interpretation. I then realised the response was just a bad faith troll from an asshole and felt relief that I wasn't wrong.

But I suppose it's all up to interpretation.

The issue is really with what you consider makes a person inherently good or inherently bad. It reminds me of that line in Good Omens:

“It may help to understand human affairs to be clear that most of the great triumphs and tragedies of history are caused, not by people being fundamentally good or fundamentally bad, but by people being fundamentally people.”

Because I genuinely think this line has inspired a LOT of Neil Gaiman's characters, whether human or not.

I also get a bit wary nowadays when certain sections of fandoms start labelling characters, especially protagonists as "bad" because that causes a slipperly slope into accusations of "if you like this character YOU PERSONALLY are a BAD PERSON" (Example: OFMD fandom and the forever bizarre reaction to the character of Izzy Hands).

Dream is not bad. He is not good either. He is entirely neutral. He may occassionally do things that may be considered bad, depending on your perspective, but he also does a lot of good things as well. How do we weigh him on a scale of judgement? Are we to act as his judge and jury for every decision he makes in the comics? I suppose we could do, if we wished to, such is the fun of analysis, but I think the end result would again depend on the perspective and morals of the individual reader.

But I will at least give my own interpretation. I'm putting on my Anubis hat and weighing Dream's heart against my trusty feather. Let's see how he does. Under a cut as its long.

I personally think that for a character to be labelled as "bad" their actions and motivations must cause harm, whether to individuals or larger groups, without them showing any care or concern for those they hurt, in their pursuit to achieve their goals.

For example, Lucifer in The Sandman is still a "bad" character even though there is a LOT of "Sympathy for the Devil" type of perspective in The Sandman. Ultimately Lucifer is still selfishly motivated. He doesn't care about the souls or creatures that reside in Hell, and he certainly doesn't care about humanity. When he kicks everyone out of Hell in Season of Mists it causes havoc on Earth, and leads to the death of at least one child that we know of. It is implied that he does far more damage than is explicitly shown.

Thessaly, as previously mentioned, is definitely a bad character. She is entirely motivated by her own selfishness. She doesn't give a shit who she hurts, or the damage she causes in her persuit for revenge in Game of You. She is cruel and malicious and yes, also a TERF. She does not show any empathy or consideration for any character at any point, and honestly, even her little speech in The Wake comes across as crocodile tears.

Desire is a more complex character but still falls on the "bad" side of the scale because Desire also shows very little regard for others when playing their games or implementing their schemes. Desire is going to do whatever they want regardless of who might get hurt because like Thessaly, Desire doesn't give a fuck about your feelings. Desire is cruel. This is stated textually. Desire's motivations are also usually selfish. The only time I found Desire remotely redeemable was in Overture. Desire saved the universe. Though it is made clear that the only reason they saved the universe was because they wanted to keep living in it. It's worth noting that even though Desire is very much "bad" I absolutely adore them and consider them one of my favourite Sandman characters.

Now to Dream. Unlike the above mentioned characters, Dream's motivations are rarely selfish. Even in The Kindly Ones, I believe even if you interpret the whole thing as Dream's own elaborate suicide plan (which is only one limited interpretation) I don't believe he ever meant for as many people to get hurt as they did, it's just that he found himself in an impossible situation where things escalated to a point of no return. Also, since most casualties were Dream's creations, arguably he probably assumed that either he, or his successor, would simply recreate them once the situation was back under control.

Dream is a lawful neutral character. He has his rules and he must abide by them because "I contain the entire collective unconscious, without my rules it would consume me. Humanity would be consumed." (I know this is Netflix!Dream talking but I'm still gonna use it cos its such a good line).

The big difference between Dream and the above characters, is simple. Dream cares. He cares about everyone. He cares about literally everyone - the entire collective unconscious of the universe and he is so bursting to the brim with care and love for them that he is buckling under the weight of all that care. It is what is destroying him and it is WHY he is so depressed and so susceptable to making bad decisions on a small scale.

Every motivation of Dream's is for the greater good. When he sees what John Dee did with his ruby, he is almost crippled by the guilt of it. He blames himself for giving the ruby so much power that it could corrupt a mortal that much. He is easily swayed by Constantine to give Rachel a peaceful death, even though at first he doesn't think about it, it's not like he laughs it off and walks away - like any of the above mentioned characters would do. He listens to Constantine and agrees to show that compassion.

When he realises he once again has to kill a Vortex - something that is part of his duty as Dream of the Endless, something that is very much carved in stone as one of his rules, he still hesitates, even though he knew what happened last time and all the pain he suffered because of it. A fundamentally bad character who does not care would not have hesitated in killing Rose Walker.

In Brief Lives, whilst his initial motivations were selfish, he realised that his trip with Delirium to find Destruction was causing harm to others. When he realised that people were dying because of their quest, he put an end to it. He hurt Delirium in doing so, unintentionally, but his reasons for stopping weren't because he was bored, or because he had given up on finding Thessaly, it was because people were getting hurt and he didn't want to be responsible for that anymore.

When you look at Dream's actions on a wider scale, he is a good character. It is only on a more personal level that his flaws start to show through.

Where Dream's behaviour gets bad, it is usually because he has been hurt, and when he is hurt, he acts like a petty child throwing a tantrum. It is when his cruel side comes out, and its when he is most like Desire.

Nada is the most obvious casualty of this side of Dream. She rejected him, he threw a tantrum, and condemned her to Hell for hurting him.

Calliope tells Dream that she believed the "old you would have left me here to rot." We don't know how true this is, even in the comics, but the idea that there once was a version of Dream who might have discovered his ex wife was being frequently raped and abused whilst imprisoned and bound to evil mortal men and refused to help her simply because she left him is horrifying, but as I said, we don't know if it is or ever was true.

Ultimately, on the small scale, all it takes is for someone to tell Dream that he is in the wrong for him to relent and accept his misgivings. Constantine called him out on Rachel, so he did what he was asked to do. Calliope didn't even HAVE to ask for him to free her in the comics, he just showed up and saved her without question. When Death told him what he did to Nada was "shitty", he immediately put plans in place to make it right, even though doing so was risky and put him and the Dreaming in danger.

Even the situation with Orpheus, whilst seemingly harsh on Dream's side, his son told him to his face "you are no longer my father" and so Dream, hurt and with wounded pride, walked away from his son and refused to look back - but he still arranged for the priests to take care of him.

His choice of Thessaly as a lover is messed up, but he was messed up at the time. My view as mentioned in my previous post is that she was a rebound. They make it clear in the comic that he never approved of her murderous ways (and I have no doubt that he would also dissaprove of her transphobia, even if not mentioned explicitly).

In The Kindly Ones I don't view the situation as Dream being a bad person. I view it as everyone else being bad. Dream is caught in a huge cloud of depression and shitty circumstance and he is unable to free himself from that situation, and even when others can sense his desperation and pain, no one actually helps him. Dream's biggest flaw in The Kindly Ones, in my opinion, is not asking for help.

Because he is prideful, because even after all he has been through, he could not shake off that pride. It went full circle, he was back in his glass cage refusing to ask for help. Only this time, the glass cage was his realm, his subjects, his role as Dream of the Endless, and he could not change himself enough to free himself without making the drastic worst case decision.

My hatred of The Kindly Ones as a story, is not because I think it does a disservice to Dream, but because it does a disservice to every other character involved. By the end of that particular story, I hated every character who WASN'T Dream. Because I desperately wanted one of them, ANY of them, to actually help him. To see past his stubborn pride and hold him in their arms and shake him until he saw sense. Because the message in that story seemed to me to be that people are inherently selfish and so wrapped up in their own lives that they won't help you when you need it most. That there isn't even a point in asking for help. So what's the point?

But then I am fully aware that my feelings are complicated and partly projecting onto the characters and the story and well, that's all not really relevant to the point of this post except to ask you all to take my opinion with a grain of salt.

So back to your original question. I don't think Dream is a bad person. He is flawed, he is a character who when pushed to the limit will do drastic stupid things, but then wouldn't we all if pushed to our absolute limit? He is extremely depressed and buckling under the weight of the collective unconscious. All that unchecked emotion carried within him, and it is literally killing him.

So when weighing his heart against the feather of judgement, I think I can forgive him some bad behaviour towards some ex lovers in the grand scheme of all he has done. As flawed characters go, he's hardly the worst, and the feather is still heavier than his heart.

I read all that Heaven backstory stuff and. Damn. Just reading how the highest hierarchy of angels /abused/ their power over the rest of the true angels to build a goddamn empire in Heaven Emptied of God (which is a whole other can of worms, too), also really makes me want to speculate on what will happen to it /after/ the Council is killed and they're released from their subjugation.

YEA i think what gabriel did would have massive and unpredictable effects on the whole of heaven. for me, i think of angels as being incredibly regimented, they are bound by their rank and by their choirs to produce a perfect order - any angel that rejects this is punished through damnation or death. for gabriel to rise up as a lower angel and eliminate those higher than him is a terrifyingly radical move, it is something that disrupts the entire order of the spheres...and there is now no god to smite him or order his punishment. gabriel has given them freedom, given them autonomy, has made it so that they can self-direct, because he has realized how rotten the power structure was from its inception. he has rejected that structure as it stands because he knows now how much he suffered under it, how much he caused others to suffer because of it, and it means he understands too that this has been the story of the whole of heaven.

however...angels do not naturally have free will. angels exist within a hierarchy. gabriel is a natural choice in leader, as a beloved archangel and of one of the highest choirs (i do rank him as a cherub, as they often appear as those closest to god and they act as guardians, particularly of eden...which gabriel has also been linked to BUT ANYWAYS....) however, gabriel obviously isn't viable due to his now heavy sin, his impending death, and his rejection of the order in the first place. he didn't do this to steal power for himself, he did this to free heaven. he is not as lucifer once was, his rebellion successful and meant to leave the throne empty. so what will heaven do? their highest have all been executed and their world is crumbling - god is never to return, and they have now all seen that angels are not god, that even the highest of them can be overthrown. they can bleed, they can die, they are not absolute and so any other authority put into place could meet the same fate the council did. gabriel has revealed that ranks are not so binding, he has revealed the uncomfortable truth that they can be changed, rearranged....are meaningless. and he has proven the abuse of that system, that those higher have commanded those they have no right to. gabriel is more favored, gabriel is stronger, and now gabriel has stopped listening, has renounced the council and god himself. it has revealed it was all farce and how do they face that? how do they admit that their entire existence in servitude was unnecessary? that always bowing to those higher than them meant nothing?

i'll be interested to see what effects this has and how much the story will show us of heaven, because i have to think this will have severe consequences. like i discussed in that last ask, i believe heaven is functioning on the surface but is truly in massive decay, so this would likely see that surface collapse in. gabriel still must genuinely care about the citizens of heaven but he has run out of time to help them - he wants them free and i think all he can hope is that they find their way forward now that he's opened the gates. he can do no more, not when he's so close to death and still has his own personal matters to settle with v1 before his fire truly burns out. at the very least, he may believe freeing them before they all ultimately die in this universe reaching its end is the least he can do. who knows how long anyone in ultrakill has left without god, with hell being exterminated. honestly...gabriel may believe there is very little time for any of them, so this is what he can do. because this is all new to him too, the idea that god is truly gone and that the council has used him to his very death. and his first act of free will was to free others. how they'll respond is anyone's guess - i like to think the true angels are desperate to reinstate order while the human souls are far more swayed by gabriel's heroism. after all, they view him with great favor and even many righteous human souls would have a much easier time understanding his reasoning, whereas true angels are likely to see him as corrupted now that his light is gone, that he fell and his judgment is a cruel one. however, even in those that may agree with what he did will be terrified in their newfound freedom regardless, as gabriel himself likely is. because while their hierarchies are restrictive, suffocating, and even abusive, they were secure, they made sure everything was always as it should be. but now nothing is as it should be, first earth, then hell, and now heaven itself.

Fall from Grace chp 2

(CW implication of sexual activities in the beginning. not smut))

He showed Charlie around his part of heaven, and showed her his latest projects which he called ‘the exorcists’. He took care of her just as he promised Samael until she hit a certain age.

“Now that you are the princess of heaven, it's time you act like it.” The warm genuine smile of the heavenly princess faded over time. It soon became something she practiced, as well as her innocent and sweet nature. The gentle voice she used in front of the masses of her kingdom was not the same one used to declare Gabriel and Eve to be locked from heaven. Her heart once soft and bright and full of dreams and light, hardened by strictness and rigidity. With her parents still away doing who knows what, the only thing she could do was take control where she could and have fun.

“I’m gonna name you after the best fucking thing ever… Vaggie” Vaggie who was second in command of the exorcist army next to Charlie had also been assigned as her guard. As they grew together their bonds and purposes…changed.

“Fuck that was good” Charlie sighed while lying on the bed with a satisfied look on her face.

“Yeah, it was, you sure I did well?” Asked Vaggie, Charlie nodded and rolled over kissing her gently.

“Of course you did, I wouldn’t keep doing this with you if I didn’t.” “I mean you do sleep with Excalibur.” Charlie rolled her eyes and brushed a lock of her hair out of her face as she caught her breath.

“Well, that’s because I have no choice. Besides, you at least know where my clit is~” This got a small chuckle out of Vaggie as she grabbed for her clothes to change back into.

“You’d think by now he’d find it.” Changing back into her casual dress while Vaggie changed into her exorcist attire, Charlie hardly put much thought into her relationships. They were all transactional. Both people want something and offer a service in exchange, though Vaggie never asked for much. The most she wanted was her own room which was right beside the princess. Maybe this ‘relationship’ was the transaction, Vaggie protects her and gets sex as a reward. Which was fine by Charlie since Vaggie never forced her into anything, unlike some people.

Once dressed and cleaned up the two left the bedroom and went down the main halls. There was the lounge which Micheal sat in. Before fully approaching Charlie made to fix up any last details. Stepping forwards with Vaggie trailing close behind her both having to pretend like they didn’t just fuck.

“Hello Micheal” In the large chair sat a man with thick pushed-back blond hair and large angel wings. He looked up at Charlie with a short smile as she greeted him.

“Morning princess, I’m sure you know what today is.” Charlie nodded at this, today she would have a meeting with the demon king of hell, Lucifer, better known as Gabriel. These were always annoying to say the least, what the fuck could they want now?

“Charlotte,” Charlie shuddered a little hearing her full name, but stayed showing she acknowledged him.

“Don’t hold back on him, you know how to run things like I’ve taught you.” “Yes, sir” That did bring a small smile to her face knowing she didn’t have to play during this meeting for once.

After getting her and Vaggie some food at the 7-11, they went to the meeting room.

“I wonder what he wants now? I thought locking him out would solve this shit.” “I don’t know, hopefully, this won't last very long. “Oh I’ll make sure it won't” Charlie smirked and pulled Vaggie in for a quick kiss before the doors opened. In walked a young man with short brown hair and red eyes, with some Charlie recognized, She tried to keep her smirk down while figuring out who this was. This wasn’t Lucifer, that’s for sure!

“Who are you?” The boy gave a polite bow while introducing himself.

“I’m Adam, I know you were expecting Lucifer- my dad- but he said he couldn’t make it so he sent me.” “Wait you’re Lucifer, and Eve’s spawn” That seemed to get a laugh out of the blond.

“Who in the fuck just names their kid Adam”

“Well my full name is Adematres Morningstar, but people just call me Adam.” The demon said with a nervous chuckle while. This seemed to make Charlie laugh a little more, and of course, this irritated Adam which is what she wanted.

“Damn, they doomed you huh. I didn’t think they were that lame” though she didn’t expect Adam to fire back with.

“And where’s your father?” Her laughing stopped and at first, she went silent but shot him a glare and recovered.

“Doing better shit than naming me ‘Adematres’. Besides, he sent his only son to talk because he didn’t wanna show up himself. Guess he didn’t learn from the first time.” Crossing leg over the other her voice changed into an almost sickly sweet and syrupy as she asked.

“So what can I do for you, Adam?” Adam blinked for a second confused as to how she switched up so fast but he cleared his throat opened up his journal and began to explain his plans for redemption and getting heaven involved. Before Adam could get halfway through his explanation, Charlie cut him off.

“Aaw how cute you wanna let dangerous low lives into heaven~ Wow, so creative!” Adam furrowed his brows in frustration. Charlie’s grin grew wide as she continued.

“So tell me Adumassetrash, what proof do you even have that your little ‘friends’ are even suited for this? They could turn back at any time, I’m sure you know what happened the last time there was a snake in the garden~”

“We-well I have a few guests a-and it's going well, b-besides I do think that obviously once they enter heaven there could be a monitoring system.”

“I’ll cut to the chase Adumassetrash,” She stood up from her seat and strutted over to him with a wide grin.

“Your kind are nothing but filthy demonic disgusted murderous insane trash who don’t deserve the lives they have now being able to live in hell. If it were truly up to me I’d irradicate any vile sinful wretch who breathes in that hellscape and crush you all. But since there are certain silly little rules, I can’t do that….But” As she spoke the air around her grew heated as she looked down at him.

“I can move the extermination day up by 6 months” Adam’s eyes went wide at this and he shot up from his seat.

“Hold on no fucking way you can do that!” Charlie giggled almost like a siren, so sweet and playful.

“Oh, but I can, you see as the princess of heaven I have to look out for my kingdom’s best interest and safety. I can’t have someone who lived their life doing bad shit now thinking they can just suddenly flip their switch just to enter paradise. Who knows what could happen? They could snap, do deranged, and the next thing you see a mass murderer is running around heaven.”

“So going down and murdering innocent civilians-”

“Innocent? Do you think those impure freaks are innocent? Honestly, you truly are naive if you think that the people of hell are innocent babies who just got put in the wrong place. Honestly, I thought you’d be smarter than this!” Adam tried to find a rebuttal, but Charlie beat him to the punch.

“I’ve got much better things to be doing than let you run around with your dangerous ideas about your ‘innocent people’. So unless you’ve got anything worth my time, then leave.” Adam could have sworn he saw her eyes flashing between red and blue with a demon's tail whipped around behind her. But when he blinked it was gone! Lute grabbed him by the shoulders and ushered him out the door, bidding the princess farewell. Charlie waved goodbye to them watching them leave. As soon as they were gone, she dropped the act and rolled her eyes.

“Finally they’re gone, I'm glad that didn’t take too long.” She sighed, and Vaggie nodded in agreement.

“Hopefully they won't come back, now let's go I’m hungry.”

So glad to be getting back to this series after months of neglect. I genuinely missed writing these.

A = Aftercare (what they’re like after sex)

Levi tends to have a bit of a drop after sex. Some days are worse than others, but it’s not very fun regardless. He needs constant reassurance that he did well and that he made you feel good. Once his headspace is clear again, he returns the favor and takes care of you, getting you food, water, or whatever else you need. After, the two of you watch some anime (usually slice of life or romance) before falling asleep.

B = Body part (their favorite body part of theirs and also their partner’s)

I = Intimacy (how are they during the moment? the romantic aspect)

Super awkward, but he tries his best. Especially when it comes to anniversaries or special days, Levi will try his best to be romantic, even if it does get him all flustered and shy. In a way, it’s really cute how hard he tries despite how easily flustered he is, but don’t mention it or else he will shut down.

J = Jack off (masturbation headcanon)

Jacks off fairly regularly when he has time. He’s usually too absorbed in the lasted game or anime to worry about masturbation, but he will when he’s bored or has nothing better to do. However, he does try to stop jacking off as much once y’all start getting together because he knows he can just come to you if he’s horny.

Double dicks, obviously. Average length for a demon, slightly above average girth. He has a bit of chub due to sitting in his room and playing games all day, but he has a fairly high metabolism that keeps him from gaining too much weight. There are a couple of moles/beauty spots around his body, most noticeably near his hips and thighs. In his demon form, he has a bunch of purple and orange scales everywhere, and his dicks have this ombre fade starting with purple at the base and ending with blue at the tip.

Y = Yearning (how high is their sex drive?)

High sex drive, but he rarely acts on it. Levi is definitely somewhere on the ace spectrum, so it’s rare that he finds someone worth having sex with. However, when he does find someone he feels sexually attracted to, he’s literally horny 24/7. In fact, even when he’s single, he’s still relatively horny. Levi enjoys masturbating, and it’s a good way for him to relieve stress. He just usually doesn’t sleep around too much.

Z = Zzz (how quickly they fall asleep afterwards)

Rarely ever falls asleep after sex. He’s tired, but not exactly sleepy. Usually, he’ll just turn on some relaxing anime and watch that for a while. If you’re tired and want to sleep, he’ll gladly tuck you in first and keep his show on a low volume so you can rest, but don’t expect him to join you anytime soon.

Sorry if there’s any inconsistencies with headcanons or writing style; I wrote a lot of this across the span of a few weeks, so some of it may not all line up perfectly. Also, a lot of this is me self-projecting since Levi is my favorite of the brothers and one of my highest kins, so sorry if any of this seems a bit too specific. Sam wakes up alone.

That in of itself is unsettling to him. He’s spent his entire life with Dean snoring from across the room. Even in the brief lulls where they weren’t talking, there was always someone else, Brady sharing his dorm room, or Jess stealing the covers, or the sleepless tap of Ruby’s feet past his bed, or Amelia’s tossing and turning. Sam will never adjust to having his own room. He will never be used to waking up alone.

Even more so when he knows the empty space beside him used to have the devil curled in it. Sam gropes sleepily across the sheets for him and finds nothing. His eyes snap open. Everything else in his room is exactly as he left it the night before, all except the angel he let in. Even the clothes he hadn’t gotten around to putting away after washing are still piled up. Sam’s stomach drops. Lucifer’s side is already cold, and Sam’s messed up the covers so badly with his own nighttime kicking that he can’t tell if someone else tossed them off to leave the bed.

He reaches for his phone. His hands are shaking slightly, and he forces them to steady as he opens the last few texts he exchanged with Dean. Lucifer’s name shows up in them seven times. Sam reads them again and again. It doesn’t settle his stomach. He squeezes the scar on his palm and reads them a fourth time. Lucifer is still the subject of his and Dean’s latest spat.

Sam shuts off his phone. He goes to the sink in his room to splash his face, not looking up into the mirror. The cold water makes his skin tingle in a familiar way, almost comforting. He scrubs with his hands, dragging them back through his hair while they’re still damp. Strands flop wetly against his forehead, sticking to the droplets he doesn’t wipe away with a hand towel.

He leaves his room. The Bunker’s corridors wind in confusing ways. Sam’s still uneasy walking down them, as if he’s going to take a wrong turn and end up walking into a part they’ve never seen before and that he can’t get out of. So far, nothing sinister has made itself known about the Bunker itself, only a few of the things it’s contained.

There’s light and noise around the doorway to the kitchen. Sam rubs his eyes and rounds it, expecting to find Dean puttering away.

But there’s Lucifer. Sam stands very still, watching him. Lucifer doesn’t react to his presence.

He looks real.

Then again, he always did.

Sam takes a deep breath. “Good morning,” he calls, and it comes out quieter than he wanted, as though he’s afraid of being heard by anyone other than Lucifer. Lucifer’s head cocks towards him. His expression blooms into affection, a smile that’s completely genuine and crow’s feet around his eyes that Sam is sure he’s pressed kisses to. He remembers doing that. He takes a step into the kitchen. “What are you doing?” Lucifer has filled the counters with bowls. There doesn’t seem to be any rhyme or reason to them, only that they’re all filled with the most basic ingredients that have collected in their cupboards. There’s flour in one, and water in another, and the last of the ground beef Dean bought in the furthest one.

Lucifer looks at the bowls with him. He puts the side of his thumb against his lips, thinking, before he lets it drop. “I have no idea,” he admits. They all hold completely normal foods, no matter how many times Sam peeks into them expecting to see squirming movement. Lucifer glances back at Sam, but his smile falls and his brow crinkles. Sam swallows. “Are you okay?” is all Lucifer asks.

“Yeah,” Sam lies, badly. “Yeah, I’m fine.” He moves closer to Lucifer. Lucifer is breathing, a small rise and fall of his chest. He regards Sam’s approach with concern. Sam stretches a hand out as casually as he can. It would be totally normal for him to do if- now that he and Lucifer are a… something. He’s not acting weird. He’s not freaking out the devil himself.

Sam’s hand connects with Lucifer’s shoulder. In a rush, he feels the tension leave his body. Just as quickly, he yanks Lucifer in, and Lucifer stumbles into Sam’s embrace, tugged along easily as if he wasn’t a being the size of a small country hiding in human skin. Sam wraps his arms around Lucifer. He melts into Sam. The weight of him is solid and grounding as he leans in. Sam grips the back of his shirt a little too desperately.

“Sam?” Lucifer asks.

“I’m fine,” he says, and it’s not as much of a lie as before. He can feel the way Lucifer’s muscles move beneath his shirt, the scrape of his stubbled cheek against Sam’s, the tiny movements under his hands that tell him Lucifer is here and real. He lets Lucifer go, and Lucifer takes his face in his hands, kissing him gently.

Sam’s gaze casts up and down Lucifer, finally reassured. Lucifer doesn’t stop touching him, his hand sliding down Sam’s arm to tangle their fingers together. A smile pulls at the corner of Sam’s lips. “Are you wearing my shirt?” As though it isn’t evident from the way it hangs off of Lucifer.

“Mine was…” Lucifer pauses, and Sam’s smile grows as he searches for a word for what happened between them last night and the state it left his clothes in. When Lucifer settles on, “ruined,” Sam chuckles.

“That’s on me,” he says. He looks Lucifer up and down again. “You look good in it.”

The devil preens like a peacock when he’s complimented.

“Now, seriously, what have you done to our kitchen?” Sam moves on, and Lucifer’s ego is as quickly torn down as it was puffed up.

“I was trying to cook for you,” he grumbles.

“With… everything?”

“I wanted to know what I had to work with.” Sam shakes his head.

“I’ll help you put everything away.” Lucifer’s mouth twists into a pout, and Sam looks around until his eyes land on the bowl of eggs that’s balanced way too close to the edge of the counter. “Except those. I’m sure I can teach you to cook eggs.”

They make even more of a mess putting things away then Lucifer did taking them out, and a worse one when it turns out that Lucifer is very good at cooking once he has a goal but he’s not exactly neat about it. Sam can’t keep his hands off him, constantly running them over the shirt that Lucifer is staining as he beats more eggs than Sam is going to eat. He doesn’t mind. He can always do the laundry again, and the other residents of the Bunker will be grateful for the extra breakfast. Sam drops another kiss on Lucifer’s cheek as he focuses.

Pride info dump

100% creating an au based off of this idea so may as well start with Pride.

AU:

This Au is just an idea of what if the 7 deadly sins leaned more into their circus acts they are supposed to represent and actual sin. This Au is still in development as I come up for reasons why the sins look the way they do.

The only idea I have right now is these are forms the sins go into when injured beyond belief or no longer themselves want to be active so their sin takes over.

Pride:

Lets Get into this man right here.

So who exactly is pride?

Pride is Lucifer's sin. Just like lucifer, he is the most powerful of all the sins and controls all of hell. The only difference is that this is a more powerful form. Seen in his design I used references to what I see as the most popular god design. He makes a mockery of god by pretending his best to be him. Pride cannot speak regular languages unless on earth when summoned. The language he normally speaks is what me and my friend have dumbed as ancient demonic. He grants this ability to those he has to talk with.

He Leans closer into his ring leader role. In the shaded art red splotches are seen on his coat. This is dried blood. He was supposed to have a tail but I forgot to give him one.

This was another design for his head where he had his halo shining brightly behind him, illuminating him in the same red glow. The only issue with this design is that I did not particularly like it as it didn't suit the tone I was looking for.

What is Pride like?

He is a snarky bastard who knows he is pain to deal with. Exactly to his name, he has too much pride. He knows he is the strongest being in all of hell and enjoys it.

Pride is seen as getting exactly what he wants. He does not care for those in his way unless its the other sins or Lilith and Charlie. Pride is affected by the other sins as well but to a lesser extent. Any emotion he feels that correlates with a sin is amplified some.

Prides Relationships with other Sins (My friends art in the corner)

Pride is very off putting to other sins. They know he's in charge but never does anything. He just likes watching and waiting. He observes their sins most of the time and loves paring them up.

List of how he is with others:

Satan - He pushes the buttons of the goat. He finds it amusing as it's just him trying to get Satan to fall to his stupid challenges. He finds Satan's sin the most powerful behind him as it suits well with others and by itself.

Beelzebub - He enjoys her company unlike Belphegor's. Her sin isn't much in his eyes but he doesn't absolutely despise it. Prefers if she pairs up with someone else but doesn't care enough to make her pair up.

Mammon - Mammon steers clear of Pride because he is genuinely freaked out by him. Pride likes to follow him around because of this. He sees Mammon's sin as powerful but thats because humans have always been greedy.

Leviathan- The only one who will even be able to get Pride not to talk in riddles. Pride finds Levi's sin extremely useful when combined with others but not very effective when alone.

Ozzie - Ozzie absolutely hates him because he is a pain to deal with. Pride finds enjoyment in trying to get Ozzie to fall to his challenges. Pride's view changes between Ozzie's sin depending on the humans.

Belphegor - Pride doesn't care much about Belphegor but absolutely hates her sin. He avoids interacting with her as much as possible. Only reason he doesn't interact with her is because he doesn't personally like being lazy. Sloth is a sin that he knows can work by itself and leaves it be.

Lilith - The only person in all of hell that makes him calm down. Unlike Lucifer with it being love its more of an admiration for her. He is protective of her.

Charlie - He doesn't like her plans but still is protective over her. She is after all the daughter of lucifer. If something were to happen to Lucifer, she would be the one receiving the powers.

Do you ever think about how Lilith said 'the one thing I loved' when she talked about Adam 2.0? Because I do.

It's significant for so many reasons.

For one, it's proof that she actually did love Adam. Because she's not saying this in front of anyone, she's not putting on an act, it is just her on her own, and she says out loud that she loved him. He wasn't just someone she found fun or entertaining, or something she was just spending time with in order to be less bored, it's not even just friendship; she loved him. They were together such a short time and she fell in love with him, which is both a testament to how kind and good a person Adam was, and also how big a capacity Lilith has for love, how she does love fully and completely (which makes her very different to the rest of Hell, who do not seem to have that capacity from what we've seen).

For two, it confirms that she no longer loves Lucifer. When Part 1 began, she is still in love with the Dark Lord, no matter what he has done to her, how he has changed, how twisted and abusive he has become, she is still devoted to him (or rather, devoted to the memory of him, I think. I believe she was clinging to the idea that once the prophecy was fulfilled he would be back to how he used to be), but by this point that love is officially gone. She has no love for Lucifer from this point on (further confirmed by when she's like 'we are very much NOT together) and that is a big fucking deal considering she's been in that relationship for thousands of years. It not only signifies how much she fell in love with Adam and what he meant to her, but it's also the first step in Lilith becoming completely separated from Lucifer.

For three, it's the fact that at this point she loves nothing else. The only thing she loves in the entire world, across all the realms, is Adam. That is a big deal, both for Adam and for Lilith. For Adam because, congratulations dude, you became the sole thing the first woman and the mother of demons loved, so much so that your presence and memory stays with her long after your death. For Lilith, it's a sadder big deal, as it's the fact that she loved one thing, just one person in the entire universe, and the person she has served and helped her whole life, murdered him and then tortured her with it. She has been made to eat the one person she loved. And I don't think it's coincidence that we never see Lilith eat human flesh again after this point.

For four, the love for Adam 2.0, and stating it out loud, stating it was the one and only thing she loved, is really significant for her naming her son after him. It shows that her son became the one thing in the world she loved. She named him after the one thing she'd loved and lost, and it's definitely a way of keeping Adam 2.0 alive, but it's also really significant for how she feels about her son. Because in choosing a name for him, she chose the name of the one person she loved, a name of love for the other person she now loves. It just is a really clear and obvious way to show how much she loved her son.

It also ties in to how she was so terrified for Baby Adam and how Lucifer would treat him and raise him, that (as she said in her own words) she'd rather him die than be raised by him. She couldn't see Lucifer destroy the other remaining person she loved, so she did the hardest thing in the world, and, in her mind, spared her son from all that suffering by taking him herself. The fact she went through the horror of eating him in order to prevent Lucifer from being able to resurrect him...ow.

But yes, in conclusion, saying 'the one thing I loved' is a big deal on so many levels, and in general just confirms and proves not only Lilith's huge capacity for love, but that she does genuinely love with her whole heart, to the point she'll have herself suffer so they don't have to. This is why I love the idea of her joining the Order of Hecate instead of Hell, because I feel that's an environment where that part of her would be encouraged and not mocked, and she'd be able to explore it healthily.

Hey it’s blucifer anon again!

I saw your newest Satan drawing and just aaaaaaa thank youuuu so much!!!!! :3 I’m so incredibly flattered and just like struck/pos /gen ( shook? The right word is escaping me at the moment lmao) that you drew that for me (side note I’m also fairly certain that you’re the first person to unironically call me cool which has me wheezing/reeling/lh/pos because that’s great, I’m like: new status unlock cool✨ BD) I also saw your other tags in some of your other recent posts wanting some angsty theories so I thought I’d come ramble some more :3 (side note 2 the only reason I actually anon these is because my om writing/fan blog is a side blog and I can’t send asks with it :c also if you do get a discord server set up I’m very excited to join it!)

Putting a break here so it’s not all lumped together and because things could get semi spoilery (aka I’m gonna talk about Michael alot and “season 2” of the games events) and I’m not sure exactly what you have and haven’t seen/know of the game. Anyways theory stuff time. My fav source of inspo for fantastic 3 angst is actually ace attorney case 1-5/the skye case I won’t go into details as I’m not sure if you’ve played it but 10/10 recommend, a lot of the themes and different character dynamics work so well for me atleast to get my idea-ing brain running, gant gives so many ideas for how intimidating Diavolo could be. Not gonna specify more than that but like I have so many thoughts on the parallels…

Next (still not an actual theory more of a headcanon) theory is that Beel and Belphie are meant to be foils/representative of how Lucifer and Michael used to be. Michael has a lot of traits in common with both of the twins: loves the stars, loves sweets/is a bit of a foodie, socially awkward and apparently a bit of a weirdo, kind of obsessive, in charge of the guard (Beel used to be Lucifer’s main bodyguard). He also apparently looks nothing like Lucifer and the twins don’t really look like twins. Honestly with how the game has so far described Lucifer and Michael’s former bond especially with it being a friendly brotherly rivalry I think it’s going to be very Deathnote Light vs L esque (Light being Lucifer and L being Michael) but more well brotherly (less spying y’know lmao) Either way am very excited for him and still have more thoughts on him in sorta my next blurb.

Story telling/foreshadowing and symbolism theory: so y’know how in like season 2 (I guess is what I’d call it of Om) there was all that foreshadowing with the play and Lucifer? I think that something like that is going to happen again but with Solomon’s background specifically. I find it very interesting that it’s in the high tension of that moment that we learn about Michael, Lucifer is acting like his more “angelic self” and has memory loss, we get the ring, we become Solomon’s apprentice, etc. basically I find it suspicious that that’s when we get more of both Solomon and Michael/they become more relevant especially the ring thing it absolutely reeks of foreshadowing/symbolism and I have a couple theories/headcanons out of this. 1-Solomon is meant to be our foil, it makes sense him being the other human exchange student that he’s our foil. Right from the beginning he’s set up to be opposite from us, he has pacts, knows demons and magic, is not trusted in the kitchen when that’s ironically enough the first thing we’re trusted with even our bedroom is by the kitchen/j on that last bit lmao. Anyways Mc originally is making pacts with all the bros to “earn Lucifer’s respect” right? Well I think that in a way that’s how Solomon started making pacts it was to earn someone’s attention/respect who? Michael’s. I think that like how Solomon is our teacher, Michael was sort of a teacher figure to Solomon. I think that’s why he wants Lucifer’s pact so much he reminds him of Michael in contrast Michael genuinely really really wants to meet Mc. Michael was involved in one way or another too with both Solomon and Mc getting their rings which were Lucifer and Michael’s ring. It’s all mirroring there’s definitely something going on with all of them it’s all being set up in a really interesting way and I’m eager to see how it plays out. Even in actions Solomon and Mc are opposites the one demon Solomon refuses to make a pact with us Mammon and he was Mc’s first pact, Solomon’s only pact so far with a brother is Asmodeus and Mc is the only person able to resist Asmodeus’s charms. and yeah im really hoping they make a micheal sprite or like and actual appearance in game or even introduce him in nightbringer because hes actually such an important character and is mention too many times for the devs to just leave us hanging like that. also im thinking since this is usually how it goes theres gonna be some problem between micheal and sombody and itll be up to us as mc to solve it (maybe solomon and micheal conflict?! since it doesnt really make sense for him to have conflict with lucifer or any of the brothers since he basically adores them still but with solomon there is a possibilty im just not sure what could be the trigger) THE PARALLELS BETWEEN MC AND SOLOMON!!! so good i never really noticed too much since solomons actions were always kind of mysterious and sometimes just for laughs (also hes one of my faves so i let him do whatever he wants really) but the way barbatos asmo and basically anyone avoid talking abojt anything solomon related especially how they made pacts is....... also how they always talk about how he does everything for a reason and has everything planned out so the fact that he chooses us to be his apprentice is soooo suspicious to me sure we might say that he just really likes us cause hes a love interest but still hes like a million years old lol do we really think hes just going to forget all the stuff hes experienced and ultimately his goal in life ,if he has one, just because he likes us??!!! he's definitely hiding or planning something...... -_-

OC Naming Tag

Got this from an open tag. If you would like to play, be my guest!! It's hard to know who uses real world vs totally made up names.

Pretty sure I've given all of my main characters intentionally apt names, but lets find out, haha.

Isabella Morgenstern

Isabella: "God is my oath"

This was an intentionally ironic name for my protag, because in the symbolic undertext of the story, "God" is her father. As a child she was absolutely dedicated to her father. She loved him, wanted every ounce of his approval, tried her hardest to do everything he asked of her, fully believing that he always had her best interests at heart. But... then he betrayed her in a big way and she's since kinda sworn herself against her father. But on the flip side, an "oath" or a "swear" can sometimes be something you curse by, instead of revere, so in that way I guess "God" still is her oath...

Morgenstern: "Morning Star"

Yeah this is absolutely a Lucifer reference. She's her father's fallen morning star, rebelling against the will of heaven. Apt. 👌

Creed Hearst

Creed: "a system of religious belief; a faith" (Alt: Credence: "belief in or acceptance of something as true.")

Creed's story is all about soul-filling dedication and trust (before and after betrayal), and it's also about figuring out what you believe is true, outside of what other people have taught you, including overcoming the consequences of prior dedication to static religious credos. It's about shedding an old creed and building a new one. :)

Hearst: "thicket of trees"

This is interesting to me, because I chose Hearst as a Patty Hearst reference (a woman who was kidnapped by a very violent rebel group and later joined them, possibly due to brainwashing, which is kinda what Creed's old military group assumes happened to him when he discovered they were corrupt and ditched them, and kinda what Creed assumes happened to himself when he thinks about his time among their numbers). One of the big questions of Creed's story is who's been brainwashing who, whether Creed's mind is and has ever been his own, and how it feels to be part of something you genuinely believe is true, only to discover it's all a huge lie.

The name Hearst was given to Creed when he was taken custody by the military group and put through their school as a child, and when he left it became a deadname for him. So the idea that the name and the belonging it represented is/was a thicket for him, something getting in the way of seeing the truth, is pretty cool.

Luther Morgenstern

Luther: "army people"

This is hilarious because I named him after the religious reformer, Martin Luther, but Luther's entire backstory is that his conquering warlord of a father sent him on a major military campaign where he failed horribly and tons of people died so. He probably likes his own name about as much as his daughter does.

Morgenstern: "morning star"

Yeah, Luther was his father's fallen one just like Isabella is her father's. And they both end up acting against the Church in one way or another. <3 Also Lucifer is the greatest, most compelling figure in the entire Christian mythos so who wouldn't want to be named after him???

Ines Barbaron

Ines: "pure, holy, chaste"

LOL In Ines's first scene, she shows up naked to a business meeting. She is the book's #1 slut, and Creed is already a huge slut himself. I could not have asked for a better name.

Barbaron: intended to sound like "barbarian"

This is the actual reference to her carnal ways, hahaha

Nic Winter

Nic/Nichole: "victory of the people"

Hmmmm..... well, she and the rest of the people she represents will be free and therefore victorious one day...

Winter: the season

Cold, icy, steeled. Nic is one of a very few number of women who have forced her way in and up through the Wolfguard ranks, and she's had to be super masculine-conforming to do it, so. Yeah?

Solomon Holman

Solomon: "peace" (Alt: Sol: "sun")

Intended as a reference to King Solomon, known for wisdom, but both peace and wisdom are intended to be ironic meanings for Holman. His dedication to "peace" leads him to ignore oppression and harm, which leads to even more oppression and harm. Not very wise.

On the other hand, he is a genuinely warm and friendly guy, for the sun meaning. Two sides of the coin.

Holman: "holy man" "whole man" or "dweller on an island"

The holy and whole meanings are also ironic, but I love the "island dweller" meaning, too. He's so far removed from reality as to be very, very stupid.

How The Demon Brothers React After Fighting With Their SO

tw: some angst with resolution at the end, mentions of past arguments, insecurity.

Lucifer:

This man is petty as hell.

He doesn’t do the silent treatment, but he acts like you aren’t dating.

If you need to work on something together, you’re a co-worker.

At RAD you’re a classmate.

Around the house you’re just a housemate.

His poker face is immaculate and it will not crack when you’re around.

If someone didn’t know what was happening, they’d probably think you two barely knew each other.

However, you won’t notice, but as soon as you look the other way his eyes are on you.

He’s used to arguing with his brothers and is no stranger to explosive fights that end with he and the other person not being on speaking terms.

But you’re different.

He tries to go on with business as usual, but he can’t think about anything other than how much he misses you.

Yet, he lets it continue because he just can’t put his pride aside and apologize.

If you decide to sleep in your old room it’ll both hurt his feelings and royally piss him off.

He thinks you’re being childish and will be pretty rude about it, but that’s because internally his blood just ran cold.

It adds a degree of seriousness to the argument that he’s uncomfortable with.

Yes he’s mad, but he can’t lose you.

If you still sleep in his bed, he makes sure to scoot over to the very edge so he doesn’t cuddle you in his sleep.

In fact, the first night after the argument he’d probably put a pillow between you just to really punctuate the fact that he’s still upset.

I’d say it could go 4 days to a week tops without you making up.

After a point though, he just can’t function until the issue is resolved. He can’t sleep, he’s falling behind on his work, and he’s just generally not doing well.

You get called to his office one night and find him at his desk surrounded by piles of paper, disheveled and exhausted.

“MC, come sit down. I’d like to talk this through. Please.”

Mammon:

He’s so dramatic.

You dare defy him? The Great Mammon can’t believe this tiny fragile human would have the audacity.

The theatrics are just a front though.

His ‘The Great Mammon’ act is a mask for his insecurity, one he hasn’t had to use with you in awhile.

Even as the words leave his mouth he regrets them.

He’s going to be very uncomfortable with everything until the argument is resolved, but most of all himself.

He’s learned not to take his brothers too seriously when they toss insults his way, but words have a way of morphing to belief over time.

Internally he is going to be super hard on himself.

Regardless of if the fight was his fault or not, he’s going to kick himself constantly for making yet another mistake.

He’s over the argument pretty fast. The anger quickly melts into anxiety.

Are you going to leave him? Do you hate him? Did he hurt your feelings?

That being said, he doesn’t know if you’re still mad and he doesn’t know how to ask.

As a defense mechanism, he defaults to how he treated you when you first arrived in the devildom.

Calls you human, disregards you, stuff like that.

If you decide to sleep in another room, before midnight expect him to be knocking on the door.

“Oi, MC. You awake? I just - I can’t - *sigh* Can we talk about this?”

If you sleep in his bed, he makes a point of sleeping with his back to you.

Less because he’s actually mad and more because he doesn’t want his image of you as he drifts to sleep to be a look of anger.

Though as soon as he passes out he’ll roll over and tuck you into his arms on instinct.

I’d say any after effects of an argument with Mammon would be resolved in a day, maybe two tops.

Leviathan:

Arguing activates his trolling the forums mode.

Goes back to calling you a normie and contradicts everything you say.

He’s less mad about the argument and more using the bitterness to cope with how upset he is.

He feels like a break up is less of an if and more of a when.

Why would someone as amazing as you settle for weird otaku like him?

Honestly doesn’t understand why you’re with him in the first place, so when there’s a serious argument he assumes its over.

Tbh don’t know how you and Levi would sleep together being that I doubt two could fit in a tub, but any deviation to your routine sends him into a panic.

It’s his reality check that the situation is serious and he needs to fix it NOW.

He’d have trouble apologizing in person. He can’t think of what to say, he stumbles over his words, and he feels like he’s on the verge of a panic attack.

Instead, expect a long ass text message.

He says how sorry he is, how much he misses and loves you, and legit begs you to forgive him.

If you sleep with him like normal, he’ll probably try to make up after laying there for awhile. His mind is going a million miles an hour and there’s no way he can sleep.

Still really has trouble verbalizing how he feels, so give the poor boy a break and take over the conversation.

He hasn’t had a serious relationship before and he doesn’t know what he should do to make it better.

So the after effects will last however long it takes him to read several mangas, watch some anime, and play a few games to see how the characters get over arguments in the story.

Satan:

Satan makes sure not to fight with you over minor issues.

He’s worked tirelessly to tame his wrath and he refuses to feed into it over a minor issue.

Thus, if you fight with Satan it’s a major argument and it’s explosive.

The aftermath isn’t much better.

He doesn’t want to risk blowing up again, so he’s frighteningly calm.

He’s an absolute master of the silent treatment.

He won’t say a word to you until he’s certain he’s calmed down enough.

For the first few days he’ll straight up leave a room if you enter.

For a good while the only way you can expect to communicate with him is through his body language and the expression in his eyes.

Satan’s biggest fear is losing control and lashing out at you.

He couldn’t live with himself if he hurt you and he can’t stand the thought of you being afraid of him.

He’s a whirlwind of emotions, so he isolates himself until he can figure out how to deal with it.

Not just from you, but from everyone else too.

Satan will not share a bed with you for at least the first night.

If he got worked up enough to actually fight, it’s gonna take him time to simmer down.

And he’d rather not risk doing or saying something he regrets in the meantime.

Once he’s ready, he’ll approach you when he’s completely calmed down and has thoroughly analyzed the situation.

He’s considered both of your sides, tried to pinpoint what caused the disagreement to turn into a fight, and made a plan of action to prevent it from happening again.

“MC? I’ve been thinking quite a bit about what happened. Would you please talk it through with me?”

He won’t apologize for the argument if he feels like he was right, but he will apologize for letting the disagreement escalate into a fight.

Satan could go weeks without making up if necessary, but he tries to resolve it within a couple of days.

Asmodeus:

Wants to give you the silent treatment, but is physically incapable.

He can’t stand to have you ignore him.

He’s the type to go back to normal then suddenly remembers you guys had a fight.

“Wait, no! I’m not talking to you! I’m mad at you!”

His biggest downfall is that he’s so stubborn.

If he thinks he was right, he will die on that hill.

There are arguments with his brothers that happened a thousand years ago and he could still tell you exactly why he was right.

But with you, he realizes that doesn’t matter too him nearly as much as it usually does.

If it means going back to normal, he’ll forget who’s right or wrong.

If you sleep in another room, he’s beyond offended.

“What?! Well fine! I don’t want you in my bed anyway!”

Laying in bed alone is a different story though.

He can’t sleep. All he can think about is you. Your face when you sleep next to him, your smell, the feeling of his arms around you.

He 100% cries.

Finally goes and knocks on your door with wet, glossy eyes.

“MC? Can we talk about this? I can’t get my beauty sleep and my tears are wiping off all of my skin care lotion!”

Will throw himself into your arms before you can answer.

If you sleep next to him still, he rolls over and watches you sleep.

It puts him at peace and he decides seeing your sweet, resting face every morning is worth more to him than the argument.

He’ll initiate the conversation the next morning.

I think Asmo could make it a few days if it was a really serious argument, but he will not function well until you make up.

Beelzebub:

Wants to make up immediately.

He doesn’t like to argue, even less so with you.

Whether he was right or wrong, he blames himself. He’ll take all the blame in the world if it makes you happy.

He’ll go make you your favorite food and bring it to you.

If he thinks you don’t want to talk to him, he’ll leave it outside your door and text you to let you know it’s there.

He’s honestly devastated if you decide to sleep in another room.

You guys migrate to your old room when you want privacy from Belphie, but you almost never sleep separately.

Seeing you grab your pillows and march out of the room nearly stops his heart.

He goes completely numb and silent as he just stares at the space you had just occupied.

Like Levi, he thinks this means the relationship is over and he genuinely does not know what to do with himself.

He can’t even bring himself to eat, he just wants to lie there, lost and trying to grapple with his emotions.

He’s another one who will absolutely cry, but unlike Asmo he will make sure no one knows it.

If you still sleep in his bed, he’s very nervous about it.

He doesn’t know if it’s okay to touch you, what he can or can’t say, stuff like that.

He just lays there stiff as a board not even able to close his eyes.

Honestly the fight would probably have to be resolved before bed. His anxiety just can’t take it.

I don’t think he’d initiate the apology. Not because he doesn’t want to make up but because his confidence is rock bottom in these situations.

He catastophizes and honestly thinks you hate him.

If you don’t initiate the apology soon, Belphie will. He can feel what his twin won’t say, and he knows Beel won’t approach you about it for fear of making it worse.

Belphie will lock you two in a room if that’s what it takes for you to make up.

Belphegor:

The embodiment of if looks could kill.

He won’t talk to you, won’t look at you, basically pretends you aren’t there.

If he must interact with you he’ll roll his eyes and sigh the whole time.

Tries to sleep through any interaction so he doesn’t have to deal with it.

He feels almost betrayed by the fight.

He thought the relationship was stronger than to have such a huge divide, so he’s really insecure about it.

After the first day, the anger has melted away to guilt.

He ‘s not guilty that you fought, but he is guilty about how he treated you after.

Guilt and self-blame have become unwelcome friends at this point. Guilt over Lilith, over his plans to destroy the human world, everything.

But more than anything else, the guilt for the fact that he attacked you weighs on him every day.

He moved past it quickly after, essentially pretending he hadn’t killed you, but that’s because he just couldn’t confront what he’d done.

He feels like the luckiest demon alive that you forgave him, let alone opened you heart enough to love him, and now it’s all in tatters.

Another thing to regret.

If you decide to sleep separately, it’ll hit him like a bag of bricks.

“You - what? Where are you going?”

It’ll take him a second to process what you were doing, but then he’ll roll over and let you leave.

“Fine. Don’t let the door hit you.”

No one will see him for awhile.

Belphie sleeps all the time anyway, but he just can’t make himself get out of bed.

If you don’t approach him to apologize, Beel will tell you that he’s been nauseous and randomly emotional which must mean his twin is coping very badly.

Will beg you to go make Belphie happy again.

If you sleep in his bed still, the argument will be resolved by morning.

He can’t keep himself from embracing you in his sleep, and it’s hard to say you’re mad at someone when you wake up in their loving arms.

It’s hard to pinpoint how long it could last with Belphie. If you don’t apologize first, he won’t let himself be conscious long enough to approach you.

This is both my first hc post as well as my first obey me post so I’m sorry if le boys are ooc. I just got this idea and couldn’t stop thinking about it so here we are.
