So Miles is pitching for a Top Gun: Rooster and I dont think we need a sequel tbh but if we do get a sequel to TGM what would do you think it would look like/you want it to be like?
i don’t care. the storys over.
Let’s do an indy 5/cars 3 situation (gotta keep the IP alive) where mav is in an old persons home with dementia and multiple replaced joints and divorced but somehow the navy still needs him and just him to train the new 20 year old female protégé (maybe amelia for tie-in bonus?) after rooster volunteered to fight in ukraine in 2022 and got shot down and killed a week into the war… And somehow it’s maverick and only maverick who gets behind the yoke to save the day (OMG Tom cruise wins against all odds again)
fun for the whole family and it makes a lot of money 🥳🤑

Be Mine
Pairing: Open Heart [Ethan x f!MC (Camille Prescott)]
Word Count: 1,764
Rating: T
Warinings: Brief mentions of sex/sexual content
Category: Fluff :)
Summary: Ethan and Camille make it official on Valentine’s Day.
***
I know it’s been like 2 months since I last posted a fic but I’ve been feeling a tiny bit more positive about OH3, plus it’s Valentine’s Day and these two idiots are in love. Don’t mind me making Ethan the insecure one as payback for what PB does to us haha
Tumblr media
Ethan has been so buried in work that, lately, all the days seem to blend into one another. He can’t remember the last time he took a day off-- he’s been living, eating, and breathing Edenbrook.
And then there’s Camille.
On the rare occasion that he manages to tear himself away from the hospital… he’s been living, breathing, and eating her, too.
Ethan tugs slightly at his collar, a sudden flush working up his neck at the reminder of her soft blonde hair and even softer curves.
The airy sound of her laugh has his head instinctually jerking up and in the direction of the residents’ lounge.
As Ethan turns on his heel to follow the familiar noise, he can’t help but take note of the pink decorations adorning the walls and hanging from the ceilings. No matter how lost he’s been in his work lately, the universe just won’t let him forget about Valentine’s Day.
It’s a stupid holiday, really. He’s always thought so. The boxed chocolates are a sad, chalky, affair, and the brightly colored gifts are gimmicky at best. The whole thing is little more than a capitalist cash-grab, and there is nothing Ethan hates more than capitalism.
He forces himself not to roll his eyes as he spots two nurses exchanging cards in his periphery.
It’s not that he dislikes love, but he does dislike the showmanship and theatricality that seem to surround February 14th.
It’s just another day to him. In his thirty-seven years, he hasn’t once deigned to involve himself in such a tacky display of affection, and he sure isn’t going to start now.
Except…
As he opens the door to the residents’ lounge, Camille is elbow deep in a pile of pink tissue paper. The excitement in her wide smile is nothing short of arresting, and of course, he should’ve known that she’d live for something like this.
“Aww, look at it!” Camille squeals, her eyes shining as she lifts a stuffed bear from the mountain of gift wrapping. Her eyes dart over to Ethan, noticing him in the doorway, and her smile grows. She wiggles one of its fuzzy arms in an imitation of a wave. “It’s so cute, isn’t it?”
“It’s something,” Ethan says tactfully, crossing the room to slip an arm around her waist. He catches a whiff of her light floral perfume, and can’t resist leaning down to peck her on the cheek. “Did Sienna buy that for you?”
He may not be a fan of Valentine’s Day, but neither does he wish to offend Sienna Trinh, especially not after the basket of homemade scones she delivered to his office that morning.
“Nope, one of Camille’s patients has a crush on her.” Lahela teases from the couch, where he is sorting through a thick stack of cards from his own extensive list of admirers.
A strange itch works its way up the back of Ethan’s spine at Bryce’s words, and his arm tenses instinctively around Camille’s waist.
Just because he loathes Valentine’s Day does not mean that he wants another man buying her tacky trinkets and writing sappy notes.
Camille doesn’t seem to notice his displeasure, her lips pitching into a smile as she holds up the card to show him.
“Medically speaking, you make my pulse race. Isn’t that adorable?” She laughs, and Ethan narrows his eyes at the obnoxiously pink card. The card that someone else gave to Camille.
Her green eyes dart over the surface of the card once more, and Ethan feels something tight and uncomfortable building in his chest.
“I think that’s the most brainless thing I’ve ever heard.” Ethan says sharply. “Which patient sent this?” He needs to know, so he can reassign them to another resident.
“Relax, Ethan, it’s Jake from the pediatric ward.” Camille says with a breezy laugh. “He’s twelve.”
“Oh,” Ethan shifts his weight, embarrassed. The sound of his pager is a welcome reprieve, and he glances at it gratefully. “Are you coming over tonight? I can meet you in the atrium.”
It’s become almost routine for them, on the rare occasion they both have a night off. After the stress of the past few weeks, Ethan can’t wait to get her alone. Even if it’s only to watch a movie and drink that horrible cheap wine she likes, he just wants to spend time with her. Even the thought of a proper Valentine’s Day date, oddly, holds a new appeal when he considers Camille across the table, her smile lighting up the room...
“I think we’re gonna do a Galentine’s Day thing tonight.” Camille says with an apologetic shrug.
“Galentine’s Day?” Ethan asks, unable to keep the disgruntled edge out of his voice. It seems a new term is invented every time he turns his back. It’s deeply perturbing.
“Yeah!” Sienna chimes in. “Me, Camille, Aurora, and Jackie, since we all managed to get the night off and none of us have significant others-- except Camille, I mean, you and her…” Sienna trails off, looking unsure.
“It’s okay, he hates Valentine’s Day, anyway.” Camille interjects quickly. “And we’re not official or anything like that.”
The look she shoots him is equal parts hopeful and nervous, as if she’s waiting for Ethan to correct her. He wants to, God, how he wants to correct her. To say that they are very much a official and serious relationship.
Instead, he freezes on the spot.
“My pager…” he says pathetically, before turning and abruptly striding out of the room.
***
All day, Ethan is a black storm cloud drifting sullenly through the rose-colored halls of Edenbrook.
It’s clear to the rest of the staff that something is wrong, but no one is quite sure what. He hasn’t been in such a bad mood in months, not since he started seeing Camille. The rumor mill churns out a steady stream of speculation, doing nothing to improve Ethan’s mood.
Finally, Naveen corners him in front of a bulletin board covered in construction paper hearts.
“Do you think I’m enough for her?” Ethan asks, staring pointedly at the board rather than making eye contact with his former mentor.
“I’m not sure I follow.” Naveen says mildly.
“She’s so...vibrant. Loving.” Ethan reaches out and touches one of the paper hearts. Camille organized the project, helping every pediatric patient decorate a heart and hanging them up with painstaking care. “I’m the opposite.”
“Are you?” Naveen asks, “I’ve seen you with her, and you seem happy. You two are good together.”
“She doesn’t want to spend Valentine’s Day with me,” Ethan admits, feeling foolish even as the words leave his mouth. “Because she thinks I hate it, which I do, of course…”
“But you wouldn’t hate it with her?” Naveen prompts.
Ethan nods with a rueful smile. He shouldn’t be surprised, the man was considered the best diagnostician in the country for a reason.
“It’s okay to seek happiness, Ethan. You can let go of the cynicism if you want to.” With that, Naveen turns to leave, but not before pressing a small cardboard box into Ethan’s hand with a wink.
***
Camille lingers as Baz finishes gathering the last of his papers and shuffles out the door of the diagnostics office.
Ethan doesn’t look up as he fumbles with the tiny cardboard box in his lap, but he can feel her warmth hovering in front of his desk. He thinks he would know the feel of her even if he was blind, deaf, and dumb.
Finally, finally, Ethan manages to tear open the little cardboard flap and maneuver his fingers into the narrow opening.
“I’d like to speak with you--” he begins.
“--Can we talk?” Camille says at the exact same time.
“I’d like to go first.” Ethan says, taking a deep breath. “I’m sorry. For my behavior this morning. I have never liked Valentine’s Day, that’s true, but I do like you.”
He pauses, and glances up at Camille’s face to gauge her reaction. Her expression is soft, and the fond look in her green eyes makes Ethan’s heart stutter in his chest.
Emboldened, he reaches into the box and sets a piece of candy on the desk with a decisive nod.
Camille leans over, a curtain of blonde hair falling over her shoulder as she tries to get a better look at the candy heart.
“Sweet talk?” Her laugh is bright and clear. “Ethan you actually have to try and sweet talk me, this is a cop out!”
Ethan can feel a hot blush pricking at his cheeks and he shakes his head.
“No, dammit, that’s the wrong one.” He stands and pours a few more hearts into his hand, ignoring the dusty residue that is surely being shaken all over his desk. It takes a few moments of searching until he finally finds the correct saying on a yellow heart.
“Here,” he says, brusquely handing her the candy.
“Be mine.” She looks back up at him with glittering eyes, her teeth sinking into the soft pink of her lower lip.
“I know we haven’t defined our relationship yet, but I want to be with you. Officially.” He clears his throat when Camille doesn’t immediately respond. “I understand if you need some time to--”
“Shut up,” Camille breathes, stepping forward until she can loop her arms around his neck. Her command is unnecessary, considering how Ethan has already been rendered speechless by her proximity.
He can feel her smile against his mouth as she meets his lips with her own. He groans as her fingers anchor in the hair at the base of his neck, tugging softly.
The kiss deepens as Camille’s lips part beneath his, and Ethan’s hands work underneath her blouse, sliding against the bare skin of her back.
“Is that a yes?” Ethan asks, his voice gravelly as she plants a trail of kisses along his jaw.
He is thirty-seven years old, and for the first time he has reduced himself to a lovesick adolescent. It’s strange how willing he is to embarrass himself in front of her, how willing he is to do anything for her.
“Of course it’s a yes! I’ve been waiting forever for you to commit to me.” Camille says with a radiant smile. Ethan cups her face gently.
“So, what now? I have a standing reservation at a restaurant downtown. I’d like to take you out on a real date.”
“That sounds nice,” Camille says, toying with one of the scattered candy hearts. “But first, I found this…”
Cheekily, she holds out the blue candy.
Kiss me.

Alright I love this movie so I don’t know how objective of a review I can write. I have fond memories of this movie--we went and saw it as a class trip in middle school, and ever since it’s been one of my favorite fantasy films. I mean, yes, it totally came out when it did and padded its battle scenes out more because it was cashing in on the crowd of kids what like Lord of the Rings but that doesn’t make it bad, does it?
So, first things first-- no, The Chronicles of Narnia is NOT an allegory. Stop saying that.
Anyhow I imagine most people who read this blog know the story, but if you don’t: during World War II the four Pevensie children, Peter, Susan, Edmund, and Lucy are sent to the countryside manor of Professor Kirk. While exploring the house, Lucy comes across a wardrobe, and within the wardrobe she enters another world called Narnia. Soon enough, they all make it there, but it turns out that there’s a prophecy about them, and the tyrant that’s taken hold of Narnia and cursed it with eternal winter, the White Witch, wants to kill them.
Also, one of them betrays them to the White Witch for the promise of supremacy over the lot of them. To be fair to poor Edmund, he was magically drugged, and he didn’t know she wanted to murder anyone.
So our siblings must seek out Aslan, the Great Lion and true king of Narnia (who is totes Jesus, still not an allegory) and end the reign of the White Witch!
Like I said, I have seen accusations that this was Disney’s cynical attempt to cash in on Lord of the Rings but aimed at children. And I don’t know that it’s wrong to say that, but it’s also short-selling this movie. I mean yes, a lot of this movie was filmed in New Zealand, and WETA Workshop did the effects for this movie.
But you guys know that WETA will work the shiz out of the effects and props, right? The level of detail on the design in this movie (and the sequels) is INSANE and look, I didn’t think that they’d go this hard on designing a story that many people think of as a souped-up children’s fairy tale, but they did and it is GLORIOUS. There are plenty of little details that you may have missed the first time watching that you pick up if you’re paying attention. Like you know that in the final battle Jadis is wearing Aslan’s mane on her collar?
[I have some of the concept art saved on my computer, btw.]
The character arcs are also great developments/additions? They’re not all true to the books, and I do kind of miss that. But I do understand WHY those changes were made. For example, in the novel Edmund’s dickishness is mentioned to be a result of the terrible school experiences he had (Lewis didn’t much like the English education system). Here, to tie it into the other characters his acting out is in large part because his father’s been absent during the war, and butting heads with Peter.
Skandar Keyes is a fantastic Edmund. He gets better in the next movie, but in this one he conveys a lot of the conflict within Edmund, so that he’s sympathetic as the movie goes on, even if he does a lot of things that are pretty terrible (for a child, for the record--it’s not that he really gets into a lot of grade-A evil).
Peter’s characterization is made much more explicit as the older brother who is sometimes a little too hard on his siblings. I think William Mosely does a fairly good job. He gets annoying as an older brother sometimes, but that’s the point, and it makes sense how he and Edmund would be butting heads.
Probably to act as foreshadowing for what happens to her later in the series, Susan is the skeptical one, the logical one, the one asking questions about what the heck is going on and trying to make sense of it all. I think they lean a little too hard into this at times--she starts telling Peter to put down his sword when they’re surrounded by wolves. Otherwise I like that she has a much stronger character arc than in the novel, and Anna Popplewell does well with it. I mean, she’s still pretty likable, and you can see that she is someone trying to achieve the best for her family.
Georgia Henley’s a great Lucy. It would be very easy for this role to be annoying and it’s not, it’s quite lovable. Lucy’s very young and innocent, and in some stories this would play against her, but in this story (both book and movie) it’s kind of her strength? She’s endearing, she’s lovable, and that’s what you need in Lucy Pevensie.
Also we should probably talk about how the child characters are aged up a bit. Of course, this being Hollywood and trying to do action scenes with a twelve-year-old would be… unwise, I get it. But it is a bit weird that Peter and Susan are being sent off to the countryside when, even allowing for Dawson Casting, they’re old enough to stick around their family. They’re not really children. I don’t mind, but it is a case against it as an adaptation, and it works a bit against the logic of the film.
Also Tilda Swinton is having a ball as Jadis, the White Witch. She doesn’t really look like the character description, but she’s fantastic as a cruel and haughty queen, and really, no one does weird ethereal and near inhuman beauty like Tilda Swinton. She apparently had so much fun with the role and the people at Walden Media liked her so much that they put her in the next two movies with whatever scrap of justification they could grab.
Liam Neeson voices Aslan and does a good job. Don’t know if there’s that much that makes him stand out other than needing a serious actor to do the voice. It’s good, don’t get me wrong, but I don’t know if there’s anything in this film that makes Neeson a better choice than any other particularly famous actor.
[Apparently for one of these movies, Neeson took his family on safari to “prepare for the role” which is silly but hey if you can take your family on safari and excuse it as a work trip, why not?]
Final word before the sendoff: the CGI in this movie is still pretty good? It’s not perfect--watching it this past time made me think how something about the Beavers still looks noticeably artificial. But they still look fairly realistic. And I know it’s been said before, but the animal characters in this movie are incredibly expressive despite also looking like real animals, a trick that seemed impressive then, but after _The Lion King_ remake came out a couple years back, one of the defenses of the lack of expressive characters in that film was “Well we wanted them to look realistic!”
And DISNEY, the studio that released both movies, did THIS one FIFTEEN YEARS EARLIER, and also WITH A LION, and managed to make Aslan convey facial expressions and emotions through impressive CGI! WHAT THE FUDGE!
If you like the fantasy works of C.S. Lewis, I imagine you will like this film, unless you’re very strict about adaptations being close to the works they’re inspired by. Even then, I think it’s a pretty good adaptation, and that the changes made are those that make for a better cinematic viewing experience. If you’re not as familiar with the source material but you like fantasy, and children’s stories, you’ll probably like this movie.
Like I said, I have seen some people accuse this movie of being a lower-tier Lord of the Rings cash-in. I don’t think that’s the case, but if you’re very interested in serious fantasy and war stories, this movie’s not going to work for you. I don’t think there’s any blood at all in the film; if there is, it’s very little. Which considering the amount of action and the battle sequence in the climax is maybe a bit egregious.
I think it’s a good movie and a pretty solid adaptation of one of the foundational texts of the modern fantasy genre. Take a watch.

"hey mike can i ask you a question?"
i looked over at duff who wasnt really paying attention. i was hoping if i used his real name he would understand i had something important to say. it didnt. he kept moving his fingers against his bass, strumming it and nodding his head back and forth.
"mikey?"
i asked again but still nothing.
"Micheal!"
i practically yelled and he looked up at me shocked.
"jeez y/n cant you see im busy? what?"
i huffed and crossed my arms over my chest, sinking further into the couch.
"i have a question."
he looked over at me like 'really?'
"okay?"
he said unamused.
"do you think im a good person?"
i said a little shy. he drew his brows together before setting his bass down.
"of course, youre like a sister to me."
he said and i shook my head.
"thats not what i meant."
he looked at me a little concerned.
"wheres all this coming from?"
he asked, sitting back and really looking at me. i shrugged.
"i have a secret that i really want to tell you but im scared."
he placed his hand gently on my thigh, squeezing it.
"you know you can talk to me about anything but if its to much you dont have to."
i nodded.
"duffy i-"
i closed my eyes and inhaled deeply. then the front door swung open, snatching my attention. iz and axl both walked in, izzy sending me a weird look noticing duffs hand still on my leg. they both walked down the hallway away from us.
"ill tell you later."
i said, standing and walking to the kitchen.
"okay."
he said softly, watching me leave. i stepped behind the wall for a second and took a deep breath, hearing him strum his bass again. if i couldnt even tell duff, how the hell was i supposed to talk to izzy about this. i walked slowly to the fridge and looked in it, frowning.
"god, do we have anything here other than alcohol?"
i complained, slamming the door shut.
"its never been a problem before."
izzy said sternly, making me jump as he watched me from across the room sipping his beer. i hadnt really noticed him there when i walked in and was wondering if he had really been there that long. i could have swore he went to the back room with axl. i shook my head of the thought and sat down at the table.
"maybe i want something different for once. is that a problem?"
i asked, picking at the doily under the napkin holder. he shrugged and sat across from me, crossing one leg over the other.
"i guess not."
he kind of snapped back. i frowned at him.
"you okay iz?"
he seemed a little off but then again maybe i was just projecting my own feelings onto him.
"yeah im great, why do you ask?"
he said a little coldly and i drew my brows, looking down at the table. i knew we were a secret and all but he didnt have to be mean about it. hed never been like this with me before.
"i dont know, you just seem a little mad."
i said softly, not wanting to actually anger him. he took a long sip of his beer.
"nope just ready to be alone i guess."
he sent me a knowing look and i immediately knew what he wanted. part of me wanted it to but i had more pressing matters to attend to. besides, duff and ax where still here and we wouldnt be able to get away with much, specially not the way he made me scream the last few times.
"alone doesnt sound like a bad idea."
i said back, noting the glimmer of hope in his eyes as he smirked at me, taking another drink.
"hey, slash called and we're gonna meet him and steven to eat, you two coming?"
duff said, poking his head into the kitchen.
"uh no im good, im not hungry."
i said looking over at him and he nodded.
"how bout you iz?"
he side nodded.
"no, ill stay here with y/n, we can go grab something later."
duff nodded once.
"okay."
he said disappearing behind the wall again. i thought for a second before standing and walking to the doorway, watching him and axl leave, waving goodbye before he closed the door. then i felt a looming behind me and it didnt take long for his hands to find their way to my hips.
"so, alone time..."
he said softly, leaning down and nuzzling his nose into my neck. i sighed out as he began kissing there, his thumbs rubbing circles into my sides. then, without warning he spun me around and connected our lips, kissing me deeply. i wrapped my one arm around his shoulders before remembering what i really needed to do and pushed him away.
"wait."
i breathed and he moved in for another kiss.
"i said wait."
i smiled at him, free hand firmly against his chest.
"c'mon, i missed you."
he protested kissing my cheek a few times, slowly moving to my neck.
"i have something to tell you first."
he hummed against me, his hands making their way to my ass and sliding into my back jean pockets. my eyes went wide as he looked at me a little confused, pulling what was in there out. my heart rate increased as he looked down at it with his brows furrowed.
"surprise?"
i said carefully, trying to study him. he just stared at it for a second, not letting me go.
"wait, y/n what is this?"
he looked up at me. i cleared my throat, feeling his hand remove itself from my waist as he held the picture with both hands now.
"what does it look like?"
he looked down at it again then back up at me and his face fell.
"this isnt what i think it is right? you arent?"
i scratched the back of my neck nervously.
"it is, and i am."
his mouth opened and closed a few times like a fish. his hand found its way into his hair, his eyes getting wide as he stumbled back.
"wait."
he said shaking his head.
"i need to process this for a second."
i sent him an odd look.
"izzy are you okay?"
he shook his head no and went back to the table, sitting down and staring at the photo.
"youre... pregnant."
he said slowly. i walked to him and placed my hand gently on his shoulder.
"yep."
i said a little worried now.
"who's is it?"
he asked looking up at me. i sent him a look.
"do you really need to ask?"
he let out a staggered breath and looked back down at the photo sitting on the table.
"so it is mine."
he affirmed with himself and nodded a few times, very slowly. he turned his head back to me and of course my stomach was eye level with him. he looked up at me for a second before wrapping his arms around my waist and kissing my stomach, never once breaking eye contact.
"i know ive never said it before cause we are so on the down low we are basically nonexistent but i love you. so much."
he said sincerely, standing up and placing his hands firmly at my back, pulling me closer to him. i smiled at him, tears stinging my eyes.
"i love you too Jeffrey."
i said softly, placing my hand against his cheek. he picked me up quickly and sat me on the table, leaning down and kissing me deeply.
"what the fuck?"
i heard and both our attention snapped to the kitchen doorway, duff standing there with a shocked expression on his face.
"i thought you were getting dinner with slash."
i said, eyes wide.
"i forgot my wallet. and hey! i thought you two were just friends!"
he torted back.
"not anymore."
izzy said, holding the picture of the sonogram up.
"im gonna be a dad."
he said endearingly, looking back down at me with a wide smile across his lips.
"youre pregnant?!"
duff practically screamed, walking into the kitchen and taking the picture from izzy. i nodded.
"thats what i wanted to tell you earlier."
he looked up at me, a distressed look on his face.
"my fake sister is pregnant with the child of my bands guitarist."
he said unbelievably, making me giggle.
"duffy its not a big deal."
he looked at me like i was crazy
"not a big deal? youre pregnant! this is life changing!"
"wait, y/n's pregnant?"
i heard slash say, the rest of the band coming into view behind him. i face palmed, making izzy laugh as duff moved to sit in the chair, looking over the sonogram again.
"alright, since everyone's here now, yes i am pregnant."
i said, looking over slash, axl, and steven as they walked into the kitchen. slash took the sonogram from duff and looked down at it, duffs fingers tangling in his messy blonde hair.
"who's the father?"
slash asked looking over at me, izzy still stood between my legs, looking smug as ever. he was still waiting for an answer though so i just pointed to iz.
"no."
he said, shocked.
"congrats."
steve said, walking over and half hugging me the best he could with izzy still in the way.
"thanks."
i said smiling at him. izzy faked hurt and frowned.
"hey, i had a part in this too."
he protested, axl coming over and slapping him on the back.
"oh we know. you dog!"
i laughed and hid my face in my hands.
"ya know, we were having a nice moment. what happened to you all getting dinner together?"
they all looked around at each other and shrugged.
"couldnt decide who would buy so we tried to pool together cash but duff left his wallet here. we came back to get it, he was taking too long so we came in to investigate why and now we all know the big news."
axl narrated.
"now i feel like you two have to come with us, as a celebration dinner."
slash said. i looked over at duff who still seemed like he was having a crisis.
"what do you say iz? celebratory 'we're expecting' dinner?"
he nodded, kissing me gently.
"id love that."

I know I know, this is a far division from the usual content I post on this blog haha. For those not in the loop[literally everyone who follows me], this is for a project and fandom dedicated to Hetalia! While it has had its ups and downs it remains an important part in my life for introducing me to this website + helping me discover writing for fandom lol. My part of the project is two chapters of a story idea I’ve had in my mind for a while. Also, consider this my official return from my [short] hiatus! -Mod Ioten <3
The coffee wasn’t in the right place. Nothing bothered Arthur more than when his store was out of order. An itch crept up into his hand, something that always appeared when anything wasn’t in its place. Several cans of instant coffee were right next to the bags of chips, but they were supposed to be in between the tea and coffee creamer.  He used to personally stock the shelves, but lately there were some issues he had to deal with at home and he had to hire someone to help him out. No matter how much he didn’t want to. Francis still had a lot to learn, but he did bring in more business; customers seem entranced by his charm, something Arthur didn’t understand. “Francis!” Arthur called, picking up a can. The Frenchman strutted in from the other side of the store holding a broom.
“Oui?” He gave a sly smile, and Arthur couldn’t help but roll his eyes.
“You put some of the coffee in the snack shelf while they’re supposed to go on the shelf above it.” Arthur began to move the cans, one by one to the correct shelf. Turning to his employee he asked, “Did you restock the milk yet? We ran out of whole and 2% yesterday.”
“You only had 2% in the back, no whole coming in until tomorrow,” Francis replied, sweeping the floor around them. Sighing, he stopped and looked up. “Mon ami, have you ever considered getting an air freshener around here? I’m tired of coming in and smelling dust, plastic, and prepackaged food.” Francis frowned, kicking a cobweb that nestled itself under the shelves.
Arthur scoffed in reply, “It smells perfectly fine here. No one has complained so far, and no one ever will because the store smells fine.” Francis gave him a weak smile.
“If you insist….”
Francis continued to sweep the floor, and Arthur finished fixing the shelves. Taking a step back, he smiled proudly at his work; despite how meaningless it may seem. Everything was in order, and the itchy feeling in his palm was gone. Checking down at his watch, there were twenty minutes until school ended for the nearby high school. Though Francis would be checking out soon to pick up one of his sons, and Arthur could always handle the influx of customers that came in at the time. Whether it be the high schoolers themselves, teachers, or random people who just happened to stop by, people would always come by the shop. Getting behind the counter, Arthur got himself comfortable for the afternoon rush. He took out one of the newspapers he sold.
He tried to focus on the horrible news in the paper, yet Arthur’s cynical mind drifted to his customers. No one came in yet, no one ever came in at this time. The store stayed silent with the exception of the soft music coming from the radio that drowned out the pouring rain. But the same set of customers would soon come in once the final bell rang. The same three boys, always buying relatively the same items. One of them, Alfred, was Francis’ stepson. Despite not being blood-related, Arthur could see that Francis cared deeply about him. Alfred was a decent enough kid, a little too eccentric for Arthur’s liking, but he reminded him of his own son. Arthur was moderately familiar with Matthias, as Arthur used to tutor his younger brother, Lukas. Gilbert, Arthur only saw when he came in with Alfred and Matthias.
Arthur moved his arm to check his watch again. Five minutes before the school bell rang. Humming quietly to himself, he took a look around the shop. For the past 15 years, this is where he’s been. Such simplicity, and yet it meant so much to him. It was absolutely, positively, completely perfect the way everything looked.
He looked up from his paper to look at the window beside him. The clouds looked angry, and the rain got heavier and heavier to signify a storm approaching. People were walking down the sidewalk, and he could hear commotion making its way towards the store. The chime of a bell, signifying a customer entering, made Arthur unconsciously smile. Shuffling could be heard, and Arthur took a sip of his tea as wet footsteps approached the counter. “This will be all,” the low mumble was almost barely audible, but Arthur could recognize the person just by the items they bought. Never buying the same thing, Abel always bought the off-brand items due to how cheap they were. Tea biscuits, lightbulbs, and canned asparagus were his purchases for today.
“If you looked next to the eggs we had some herbs for sale,” Arthur hummed. “Some celery was there as well.” The aura around Abel stiffened, and the large Dutchman tried his best to resist the temptation Arthur laid out. No matter how much he wanted to say otherwise, his soft spot for his rabbit outweighed his yearning for cash.
Abel shakily sighed, “Is that so?” He had to keep his eyes from drifting away to the open-air fridge. Arthur felt a smile creep onto his face, keeping his head down as to not let his customer see.
“Yeah, and Yao usually sells them for more than double our prices,” The words fell out of Arthur’s mouth smoothly, preying on the fact that the Dutchman couldn’t resist the best deal possible. The air between them was cold, Abel’s stiff stature slowly cracking away with every word that Arthur said. It was a battle that occurred between them often,  Arthur usually winning.
“Kip has been behaving nicely....” Abel muttered, reluctantly letting his shoulders relax. Giving out a breath, he gave into Arthur’s tactics. With a short cough, he let Arthur have his win, “I will buy a stalk.”
Looking up, smiling as if he wasn’t already gleaming, Arthur replied, “Perfect! I’ll add the price of the stalk to your total and you can be on your way.”
Abel grunted, aggressively grabbing the paper bag Arthur pushed his way. As he walked out, he could hear the shop owner telling him that he’ll see him later, and he just raised his hand in reaction.
The smile never wavered even as Abel left his shop. There were a few customers that would make their trip to the counter once they were finished. Arthur’s attention, however, was on the trio of highschoolers that followed in after Abel left. “I don’t know how I failed that chemistry quiz, my grade’s totally down the shitter!” Alfred groaned loudly as he struggled to close his umbrella, it resisting no matter how hard he tried to pull it into place. “How the hell does Francis work this thing.” He yelped as the umbrella snapped down once he clicked the button.
“It’s ‘cause you were staring at Ivan the whole study period yesterday, that hunk of a Russian keeps distracting you,” Matthias teased, walking to the sweets aisle. The other two boys followed, Alfred quickly grabbing a bottle of soda from the freezer.
“Hey, Mattie told me to get some milk before I came home, I’ll be at the counter,” With a peace sign, Alfred departed from the trio.
Gilbert scanned the shelves for his desired treat; a bag of  Haribo gummy bears. And although he looked up and down the shelves, his favorite candy wasn’t to be seen. “Hey store man!” He yelled, and Arthur piped up.
“Yes?” Arthur got up from his seat and walked towards the isle the voice was coming from.
The German pointed to the empty hook which once held what he was looking for, “Do you have any gummy bears available?”
Arthur thought back to earlier today, where one girl bought the rest of his gummy bear stock. “Ah, I’m sorry about that. Earlier today a young lady came in and purchased my supply. We won’t be getting more until Friday I’m afraid.”
Gilbert stared at him for a moment, processing what the store owner said. “By any chance…” He mumbled, and Arthur almost couldn’t hear, “Was the girl wearing a flower pin with pink and orange carnations? And was she wearing one of these uniforms?” Gilbert tugged at his uniform with a blank expression.
“She did! Do you know her from school?” Arthur questioned, fighting a sickening smile that threatened to creep onto his cheeks.
The boy’s blank expression turned to one of anger. Matthias started laughing at him from behind, and Gilbert turned around to tell him to shut up. “She’s our- uh- friend!” Matthias butt in, grabbing Gilbert’s shoulder with his empty hand. In the other, he held a bag of black licorice, one that Arthur recognized immediately.
“Lovely, if you still want your bag of gummies, I might have a couple of those gummy roles made by the same company,” Hook, line, and sinker.
The greyish haired male’s attention perked immediately, and Arthur couldn’t help the smile that approached his face. “I suppose that would do…”
“Excellent!” Arthur waved his hand to symbolize that the boys needed to follow him to the counter.
“Yo Mr. Kirkland! No red milk today?” Alfred asked as Arthur got closer to the counter.
“Red milk?” Arthur had to think for a while about Alfred’s choice of words, “ Ah, whole milk. We ran out yesterday and your father could only find 2%,” Arthur gave the signature smile that he learned to give whenever childlike ignorance was at play. “I can check Alfred out first. If you boys want to buy anything else just let me know,” He slipped himself behind the counter and took the milk and soda from Alfred.
“The weather’s getting pretty bad…” Matthias muttered, taking a glance towards his friends.
Gilbert sighed and looked out the window, “Ja, news says that the storm won’t let up until like three in the morning. Do you just wanna grab a bus or something??”
A loud crack suddenly made its way into everyone’s ears. Gilbert and Matthias’ eyes quickly darted towards Alfred, who was visibly sweating despite the cold weather. Alfred took a big gulp of air, and gripped the side of the counter tightly as he tried to steady himself; failing as his body slowly sunk closer to the ground. “You okay man?” Matthias grabbed his shoulders and tried to bring him up.
Alfred looked at the ground sickly, attempting to steady his breath and contain the tears that threatened to leak out. “I-I’m uh-” his speech started to stutter, something Arthur never saw from the energetic American. His palm started to itch a little bit.  “I’m- I’m fine,” he assured. “I’m fine,” Alfred repeated again, almost as if he was trying to convince himself of the same thing.
Arthur had to grab his wrist tightly so he wouldn’t begin to scratch his hand, “Are you sure? I can give you so-”
“I’ll call Toumas so he can give us a ride home safely. Is it okay if we wait here a little bit Mr. Kirkland?” Matthias asked, getting his phone out and putting the bag of licorice on the counter. “I’ll pay for Alfred’s stuff. Can you get him, Gil? I’ll buy your stuff too.”
Gilbert nodded and grabbed Alfred, pulling him to the side despite the protests. “Of course, I have a couple customers still needing to pay though, so once you pay make your way into the back exit.”
Matthias nodded, and looked behind him, muttering a small apology to the people politely waiting for them to finish. “Thanks a lot, Mr. Kirkland. Alfred uh- doesn’t deal very well with storms.”
Arthur nodded understandingly and separately bagged the three boy’s groceries. Matthias made his way towards his two friends, grabbing the bags and thanking Arthur profusely. Despite trying to grab Alfred’s shoulders again, he pushed both of them away, insisting he didn’t need to be helped.
Bringing his phone closer to his ear, Arthur could make out tiny bits of conversation from the Dane’s side. “Hej Toumas! Can you give Gil and Al a ride home? We’re stuck in the storm at the corner store near the school…. No, not the grocery run by Mr. Wang, the one run by Lukas’ tutor…. Yeah, that one. Ten minutes? Alright, I’ll tell the guys, thanks Toumas!”
The Dane clicked off his phone and gave a thumbs up to Arthur. He smiled back and centered his attention on the lady waiting at the counter. “My apologies for the long wait ma’am, those boys needed assistance.”
The itch in Arthur’s palm didn’t go away until long after the trio left.

could you do 18 and 100 for the trope mash up thing? (And if you want two characters, Obi-wan and Hondo?- I got a little confused with your added instructions to the trope mashup)
Circus AU / Accidentally Saving the Day (Hondo & Obi-wan)
Anon, I had to WORK for this one and even did a little research into circus history since I am woefully undereducated about the topic. I think I’ve found an interesting way of weaving these all together and giving a little bonus at the end. Stick with me here, I need to do a bit of an introduction to get this whole idea going.
For the purposes of this AU, please assume that the Clone War and all the events surrounding it happened directly after Naboo, meaning everyone is about 10 years younger than they are in canon. Also assume that Qui-gon was not killed on Naboo, although that has little bearing on this particular story.
THIS GOT OUT OF CONTROL. I was expecting to write a fun little 1,000 word thing, not a whole AU concept. But here we are, so….uh…
We’ll see what everyone thinks? Enjoy. And good luck  :D

“How are they doing?” Szimon Tesdak asked, thin, long mustache bobbing up and down at the ends.
The other man patted the Pamaradian prancer’s neck, running his fingers through the thick mane of her hair. The prancer shivered, eyes darting back and forth, hooves tapping nervously on the durasteel floor. The man known as Whisp spoke softly in the creature’s ear, the words foreign to even Szimon’s cosmopolitan ears. A few moments later, the prancer settled, nuzzling her snout into Whisp’s shoulder.
Whisp turned to face Szimon. “They’re restless,” he said. “Fourteen hours in a cruiser is a bit much for anyone to take.”
Szimon waved the veiled criticism away with a flick of his wrist. Yes, it had been a long journey, but the payoff would - hopefully - be worth it. And they needed the credits - or whatever these people were going to pay.
“An hour more and we’ll be there,” Szimon said with false confidence.
Whisp stood, crossing his arms tight against his chest, the black-and-crimson fabric of his worn travel tunic wrinkling with the gesture. There was a hint of beard on the young man’s chin, something that, when it grew in, would likely age him a good ten years. The man peered at Szimon with grey-blue eyes like he was trying to ace one of those vision tests at a local spaceport agency. Always looking for hidden meaning, he is.
And sometimes he finds it.
At least with the creatures, that had been the case. Two years Whisp had been working for Szimon and never had the older circus master figured out the man’s trick. Szimon had spent his life in the circus, from his childhood on Thybaar right up the grand days of the bright Coruscant lights to his now-ramshackle operation held together by thread, petty theft, and the occasional cashing in on favors owed.
Szimon had seen it all - and more,  but nothing like Whisp and his ability to communicate with the creatures, like he was reading their minds. “The Whisperer,” the other members had taken to calling him. The moniker had stuck, albeit in shortened form, Whisp’s real name - whatever it had been - long forgotten.
“Remind me again why we’re flying out to the Outer Rim for a show? Seems a bit of an expense when we could just as easily round up a few smaller venues for far less hassle,” Whisp said.
“Ah, Whisp, ever the cynic,” Szimon clapped a meaty hand on the other man’s shoulder. “Don’t think of it as a hassle,” he waved a dramatic hand, as if unveiling something from a behind a curtain. “But as an expansion of our operations.”
Whisp cocked an eyebrow. “Hardly difficult seeing as our operations comprised of three planets the past month, two of which we never actually got to land on.”
Szimon snorted. Well, yes, business had been down because of the war. Szimon himself cared little for the politics of the Republic or the Separatists. A government was a government, with all its little games and corruptions, mazes of betrayal, and endless mountains of datawork. No, Szimon Tesdak would never be chained behind one of those desks.
But many others were, shackled to unfulfilling jobs and lives, stuck in a desert of mediocrity and boredom. That was where Szimon came in. Unhappy citizens tended to breed unhappy revolts. But give them a nice circus, something to laugh at, a little magic that was absent from their day-to-day existence?
It didn’t really matter who was in power. The problems, the outcomes -they were always the same in the end.
Still, the war had been disruptive to his business and over the past few months, the “Great Thybaarian Traveling Show” had been forced into semi-refugee status as planet after planet was devastated by the conflict between a mechanical and clone army. Circuses were part of avoiding war, not conducting it.
Szimon shook off the dark thoughts with a wide smile. “Come on now, Whisp. We’re going to make great friends on the Outer Rim. My benefactor has promised a large sum, maybe even a sponsorship if we play our cards right.”
“I thought they were pirates,” Whisp retorted, half-smile playing on his face.
Szimon made an airy gesture, chuckling. “Pirates, embezzlers, Hutts. As long as we get paid, I’ll work for the Sith themselves.”
Whisp tightened under Szimon’s arm, which was wrapped around the thin man’s shoulders. Some unreadable emotion passed over his face, a premonition of a storm. After a moment, he spoke, hesitant.
“I suppose.”
“That’s the spirit!” Szimon exclaimed, shaking Whisp. “Come on, we have to make preparations for landing and I’m not letting Battlebuzz near those controls again.“
—–
“That was a very impressive show, my friend,” the pirate known as Hondo Ohnaka sidled up to Whisp, unceremoniously dropping into the seat next to him, tankard full of green ale.
Whisp looked up from his own mug, half-consumed, eyeing the pirate warily. “Thank you,” he replied, adding, “I think,” after a moment’s hesitation. It never hurt to be too cautious around pirates.
“All those acrobats, all the flips and whooshes.” Hondo made an extravagant gesture with his arm, nearly taking Whisp’s head off. “And the beautiful women dancing to such music, it shouldn’t be allowed!” he grinned, giving Whisp a knowing look. ”My men, they enjoy that - some of my women, too!” Hondo cackled, downing the entirety of his pint in one go, wiping his mouth with his sleeve.
“But you, my friend - with the creatures.” The pirate’s voice turned a shade serious and several parsecs more calculating. Whisp bit his lip, steeling himself to steer another drunken conversation away from this dangerous territory. “Yes, the creatures,” Hondo continued, nearly singing. “Now that was something I’ve never seen before. Most beast tamers use weapons.” The pirate made a few motions mimicking a whip. “They use fear and intimidation but you!” He pointed a finger that almost went up Whisp’s nose. “Ah, it was almost like you talked to them with your mind.”
Whisp gave a forced shrug, his pulse starting to race. He needed to stay calm. Needed to focus on the present, not his anxieties. He laughed to himself, bitter, wholly aware of the gross irony of that statement. “Just an ability I’ve had since my youth,” he said, voice flat. “Better me in the circus than those brutish weapons-wielding tamers you mentioned.” Whisp scowled. That much was the truth. Whisp couldn’t abide by their methods, couldn’t stand the way the pain and fear radiated from the abused creatures. He knew he couldn’t save them all, but if he could give a second chance to even a single Borcatu, if he could find a home for those who had been cast out -
Anger trilled at the back Whisp’s brain, a sensuous, lush melody more tempting than any of the ribald pirate ballads in the background.
Hondo beckoned at another Weequay, grabbing two pints from a serving tray, setting one in front of Whisp in an unspoken command. “Yes, your youth. Tell me about that. Your accent is polished, very posh, very Core World.” Very monied. If only, Whisp rued.
It had been too much effort to try and tame his accent, which stood out amongst Szimon’s motley crew of performers like a neon bell weed in the desert.
Whisp took a long sip of his beverage, smacking his lips together. The new alcohol was a step higher in quality than the dredge he had been drinking before. He peered to Ohnaka on his right, wondering if he was about to be drugged, kidnapped, or worse. Oh well, he thought, drinking some more of the beverage. Might as well enjoy while I can.
“I was brought up in the Core,” Whisp recited, setting his glass down, not even needing to think about the words he had said them so many times. “My family, unfortunately, abandoned me, so I took to farming in the Mid-Rim as a means of sustaining myself. It was there I discovered I had an affinity for creatures and then did some work in healing clinics before the war broke out. The Republic Army took over all the planetary clinics so I was forced into finding…” Whisp bobbed his head, “more creative ways to apply my talents.”
“Interesting,” Hondo noted, his gaze greedy as he looked Whisp up and down. Whisp’s other hand moved to his waist. So much for enjoying. He fingered the blaster he had hidden under his red and silver vest, neatly tucked away in a shoulder holster.
Hondo held out a hand. “I don’t mean to cause you alarm, my young friend,” he said with a laugh, sitting back in his chair, kicking both feet up on the table. “You can put your blaster away, I only want to talk business.”
Whisp’s hand tightened for a moment before he raised an open palm in a universal gesture of surrender, his brow furrowed.
“What type of business?”
“What type indeed?” Hondo hummed, rocking his feet back and forth in time to the bawdy, clangorous music. Somewhere on the other side of the room, Tergallian and Lopisa had gotten into a knife-throwing contest with some of the pirates. Whisp had a feeling the Weequay had bet on it and that the pirates were about to lose their shirts, pants, shoes, and who knew what else in the deal. Might have to make a quick getaway if there’s enough of a ruckus, Whisp thought, eyeing the locations of the exits and the best strategies to get there without being shot.
Again, he winced.
“Oh, you won’t make it out, I promise” Hondo commented, his expression still jovial. “All the exits are under full guard and I guarantee there’s no other way out unless it’s by my command.” He pressed a finger into the table, all traces of humor gone from his voice. “Unless,” he began after a moment, “you are a Jedi.”
Whisp was off his stool in an instant, blaster in hand. Not wanting a direct confrontation, he pointed it towards the ground, the table hiding the weapon from the view of most of the other pirates and circus members. Off in the corner, Szimon’s eyes grew wide as he made a series of furious movements in Whisp’s driection.
“I’m fine,” Whisp signed back in the strange language of gestures known only to those in this particular circus, an easy way to communicate on stage while looking artistic and also a not bad method of either avoiding trouble or sometimes finding it - if their pockets and stomachs were empty enough.
Hondo clasped his hands behind his head, looking unconcerned. “I did not mean to upset you,” he said, lips quirking upwards as if he had just figured out some baffling puzzle. “Only warn you about my security system. But let us not talk of such things, as they disturb you and as my dear mother always said - “ Hondo raised a finger. “Son! You catch more apidactyls with honey. And if that doesn’t work, you can still catch them with a blaster.”
Not worth the fight. Not even sure I’d win this fight, Whisp sighed inwardly. Knowing when he was outmatched, or at least when to choose his battles, Whisp retook his seat with a muttered curse.
“Fine, then. What do you want from me?”
Hondo smiled. “Ah, now we talk business,” he shrugged. “Nothing much, my friend. And nothing - mostly - to do with your little traveling show. But the circus isn’t going to pay you forever and a man of your many talents - ” Hondo leaned forward, putting both forearms on the table. “Could fetch a pretty hefty payday if he found himself aligned with the right people.”
Whisp’s eyebrows rose. “Are you offering me a job?”
Hondo raised both arms. “Maybe, if you are willing to - “
“Hondo!” A large, burly man came barreling into the room. At once, the music stopped with a zippered rip of a holodisc jarred from its needle, pirates and circus members alike turning to the wide-eyed, heaving pirate.
“We got trouble out there!”
Immediately, Hondo came to his feet, blaster in hand. “What kind of trouble?”
“I think it’s the Republic! Looks like them, at least. They’re tryin’ a fall back to our compound!”
“We’ll see about that,” Hondo growled, raising his weapon. “No one takes over Hondo Ohnaka’s compound without my permission!”
—-
Blaster fire rang out from all sides, a multicolored lattice of deadly energy. To Whisp’s surprise, Hondo was near the vanguard of the pirates, shooting at the incoming wave of bright, white uniforms with terrifying precision. The pirates were good, Whisp had to give them that, the transition from unruly drunkards to semi-disciplined guerrilla fighters more seamless than Whisp thought possible.
“Any ideas?” Szimon asked next to him, the pair huddled behind a large boulder, just out of range of the real fighting. Whisp knew Szimon didn’t care one way or another about who won this particular battle - one of thousands Szimon had witnessed over the years. But their ship - their livelihood and home, not to mention only asset - lay just beyond the front line of what Whisp was pretty sure were the infamous clones. If their ship was damaged, or, even worse, destroyed - they were all done for.
Whisp took in the scene, applying his natural affinity for tactics that had been first discovered early in his tenure with Szimon, an awkward encounter with the Ruuthian mafia, a highly successful performance, and a jar of…requisitioned heeble eggs belonging to Ruuthian mob boss. It had been his quick thinking that had gotten them out of that mess, a plan so crazy it couldn’t do anything but work. From that point on, Whisp had earned the nickname, “The General,” much to his dismay.
Carefully, Whisp extended his senses, not only his eyes and ears but his other senses, the ones he kept locked away from everyone else - everyone else except his creatures. The creatures didn’t care what his status or title was, if he had succeeded or not, if he occasionally broke some moral law that had been branded into his mind as a child. The creatures didn’t judge - they had never judged and found him wanting.
It wasn’t good. For all of Hondo’s firepower, they were still in the bottom of a cereal bowl in the sandy crevasse, the clone troopers above holding higher ground as they advanced on the compound. It didn’t escape Whisp’s notice that the troopers’ blaster bolts were consistently going wide, aimed to injure or impede, but not kill. Some strange long-buried instinct rose in Whisp’s chest as he watched the men, sensing their similarities, down to a genetic level. Was he was supposed to be on their side? Supposed to be fighting with them, supposed to -
An explosion rocked the compound, bringing down metal, stone, and all kinds of debris on the pirates. Hondo barked out more orders, a line of men running to set up what looked like a short-range missile while the rest of the pirates resumed their firefight.
I’m supposed to be getting us out alive, Whisp fumed at himself. No more distractions. Szimon’s face was covered in dust and sand and for a moment Whisp almost laughed. The circus master looked the spitting image of the Great Lady Devonna in her full makeup.
“Are you alright, Szimon?” Whisp asked, helping the other man to a seat.
“I’ve seen worse,” he growled, swiping debris from tassled gold epaulettes perched on bright red shoulders like two Felucian retrine sparrows. “Just do something, Whisp, I’m not getting any younger here.”
Right. Whisp looked again at the fight, the positioning of the men, their ship. The pirates weren’t going to win an all-out firefight, not like this and Whisp had to assume there would be reinforcements coming sooner than later. It was now or…
Whisp frowned. They could wait for the clones to take over the compound and beg for lenience. But knowing the Republic, they’d probably confiscate the ship. And send them to prison. Besides, Whisp’s own presence might raise too many uncomfortable questions, ones he had no desire whatsoever to revisit.
So much for that idea, he rued, while surveying the scene. The clones were all faced towards the fighting, Hondo’s forces feisty enough to keep them fully engaged. There weren’t that many of them, not a full battalion, for certain, which meant it was likely Szimon’s ship was wholly unguarded and not even considered a threat, as it had no visible weaponry. If he could just…
Whisp closed his eyes, feeling for the familiar energies, the outlines of the creatures he cared for, from the smallest snitmouse to the largest morak. Yes, he thought, connecting his mind with the stampede creatures. They would never see it coming.
A moment later the earth rumbled, the fighting slowing to a small drizzle of blaster fire as the line of clones turned to the oncoming dust storm that hid the three moraks, now prodded on by Whisp, feeding off of his repressed frustration and anger with the representatives of the institution that had driven him to this life in the first place. Of the people who were trying, again, to deprive him of a home, of a place where he belonged.
Unaware the opaque cloud hid anything living, no less animals whose shells repelled most blaster fire - a well-kept secret known not even in the fancy universities on Coruscant - the clones fired to no avail as the moraks descended, sending bodies flying in every direction with desperate shrieks, the remainder of the forces too startled to return fire efficiently. Three bloody minutes later, the remaining clones ran, retreating, leaving the bodies of their fallen comrades as the only evidence of the failed ambush.
Cheers rose the pirates as they lifted their weapons in glee, somehow manifesting mugs of ale in their hands only a scant minute after they had been involved in a full-bore battle. Whisp slowly climbed from behind the rock, pulling Szimon up with him. The Thybaarian looked at Whisp as if it was the first time he had ever seen him.
“Was that you?” he asked, eyes trying to pierce through years of layers, of hidden secrets that were the only true skin of the man known as Whisp.
Whisp laughed, uncomfortable. “What? No, I mean - “
Szimon shook his head, still dazed. “I always had my suspicions, you know. Not just the creatures, although I’ll grant you that’s one hell of a trick.” He paused, his expression unreadable. “I figured there was some reason you weren’t up with them in that fancy tower, figured it was none of my business, but now - “ Szimon’s eyes turned calculating. “This isn’t just some parlor trick, is it, it’s - “
Whisp backed away, palms splayed in front of him, as if trying to stop the words from entering his space. “No, I’m not. I - “ he looked around, wild, feeling just like one of his creatures, feral and trapped. He was going to lose his home again, once they found out, it was all going to be over. “I never - “ Something snapped, then crackled with inside of Whisp, like the breaking of an invisible, electric bone, sparking flying everywhere.
“I never was one, okay!” he yelled, stomping his foot. “Never was, never will be! That man - that child - died over ten years ago. This -” Whisp gestured angrily at himself. “Is what I am. Nothing. More.”
They had been certain leave Whisp with that message. Nothing more. Just nothing.
“A fascinating story, my young friend,” a low, baritone voice intoned from behind them. “I would be curious to hear more of it.”
Whisp spun around. The man was - there was no other word for it - regal, imperious, commanding the attention of every being in the valley, as he moved towards Whisp and Szimon, long brown cape billowing in the wind, deep violet outfit a perfect fit on his broad chest. Hondo’s troops paused mid-swig, ale running down their necks, and even Hondo himself craned his head forward to get a better look at the newcomer.
Fifty blaster rifles rose at once.
The man stopped, surveying the ends of the weapons pointed at him with a disaffected gaze. The compound held its breath, sinews tightening around triggers as an unworldly clarity came over the canyon, as if each atom, each sound wave could be made manifest as a physical, tangible reality. And then the man smirked, wholly unconcerned with his vast disadvantage in the situation as the world returned to its customary blur. Whisp and the others exhaled, noisy phlegm crackling up their lungs, dust tingling in their throats.
The stranger took an unhurried step forward raising one hand.
“You may lower your weapons,” he addressed the pirates, voice betraying nothing but absolute confidence. It occurred to Whisp then that the man had never been at any disadvantage at all. “I intend no harm,” he added in his deep, patrician voice.
Hondo took an equal, ambling step forward, hands clasped behind his back. He circled the newcomer, a hound sniffing for possible quarry, gazing him up and down, as if he were a incoming shipment of contraband. Then, after a moment, Hondo gave a nod, and the blasters summarily disappeared.
“My, my we are popular today,” the pirate began amiably. “To what do I owe the pleasure, Mister…” Hondo gestured at the other man in question.
“I am here for three reasons,” the stranger announced, ignoring Hondo’s unspoken inquiry. “The first was unwelcome, but unsurprising. My ships were caught unaware, en route from a trade post in the Outer Rim to Jybosti. I carry the identification cards and manifest if you desire proof of my claim. The Republic forced our hand, causing us to land here and engage in an unwanted ground battle which regrettably involved your forces.” The man turned to Hondo, giving an apologetic gesture. Hondo answered with cool regard, his skepticism echoing through the enclosure. Whisp had to agree. No one just happened to go by a place like Florrum without reason. Especially someone like this.
Still, it wasn’t the stranger that had been one shooting at them. Maybe he was telling the truth. Or at least a part of it.
“Secondly,” the man continued, opening his arms, “I would like to thank you all for, how shall I say - “ He paused for dramatic effect, lifting his chin slightly. Whoever this man was, he knew how to hold a crowd, perhaps even better than Szimon. “Saving the day, however unexpected your heroics may have been.”
“Yeah, heroes!” One of the pirates bellowed, raising both his blaster and ale mug, several others echoing his enthusiasm with chants of “Heroes!” which quickly devolved into far less elevated rhetoric.
“And thirdly?” Hondo asked, after the raucous had died down.
“Thirdly,” the man drawled, turning his full attention on Whisp. “I would like to know further details regarding this young man’s story.”
Whisp’s eyes went wide as he took an involuntary step back. “There’s not much more to tell, I’m afraid,” he said, trying to keep his voice even. The words were automatic, a defense mechanism so perfectly tuned, it was nearly instinct. But the strange pressure that had been growing at the back of Whisp’s brain spiked with the lie, leaving a dark, velvet shadow in its wake, something immensely powerful yet a balm to his frayed emotions. It was something…
Whisp gasped, eyes locking with the other man.
It was something familiar.
The stranger smiled, all edges as he clasped his hands behind his back, addressing Szimon. “This young man is in your employ?” he asked, brusque, nodding towards Whisp.
Szimon straightened his jacket and his posture, already sensing a deal in the making as he slipped into tell-tale ringmaster persona. “Yes, sir, best creature tamer I’ve ever seen.”
“Interesting,” the man commented, drawing out the word. “And if he were to leave your employ, how would that affect your operations?”
“Well, I daresay it would be quite the inconvenience,” Szimon began, his confidence building as he fell into the familiar patter of a sales pitch. Whisp barely heard the words, disbelief rising like an angry, red ocean. Would Szimon really do this to him? Now? After everything?
“…so you see, unless I would be suitably compensated for my losses…”
The grey-haired man leaned forward and whispered something in Szimon’s ear. Szimon’s eyes went moon-wide, his mouth dropping open, words tripping from his mouth.
“I trust that would be satisfactory?” the man asked.
“I - ah - “ Szimon sent a half-apologetic glance over to Whisp, eyes gleaming with barely-contained avarice. “I think that would be more than fair.”
“Excellent,” the man articulated, ignoring Szimon’s half-gasped ‘thank yous,’ now directing his full attention back to Whisp, drawing himself up to full height. “And you, who are about to enter my employ. What is your name?”
So that was it. No offer, not even a perfunctory question, Whisp’s future once again dictated by the whims of others. Whisp clenched his teeth agains the injustice of his very existence. “Whisp,” he answered, barely keeping the venom from his voice, fists tightening into balls, nails digging into his palms.
“Your real name,” the man growled. Behind him, Szimon gaped, now looking on with unabashed curiosity, a faint patina of guilt oozing from his sweat-beaded forehead.
Long-buried memories, banished ghosts relegated to an afterlife he had not yet experienced rose in Whisp. He squeezed his eyes shut against the assault of emotions, of the sharp knives of betrayal, the deep pools of loss that threatened to overwhelm him. Had it been so long since he had uttered his own name?
Forcing a noisy breath between his teeth, he steeled himself, meeting the icy gaze of the other man, who considered him with keen, intense interest.
“My name is Obi-wan Kenobi.”
For a brief second, the Force surged in a strange, dark elation as the stranger’s eyes glimmered with satisfaction.
“And I am Yan Dooku of Serenno. Come, Obi-wan,” he said, putting an arm around Whisp’s shoulders, leading him away from the confused and quiet scene of pirates, of the doe-eyed stares of what had - for a brief, happy moment - been his family.
From one family to the next, always a visitor. First the Jedi and Qui-gon Jinn, then Bandomeer. Then clinics, then circuses, and now this.
With Dooku.
Something settled in Obi-wan’s gut, not unpleasant. For the first time in years, he allowed himself to open to the Force, wholly and without constraint. This felt right, more right than anything else had in Obi-wan’s life.
“Come,” Dooku repeated, voice warming ever so slightly. “We have much to do.”

“Westworld III” takes several steps forward...and several steps back (REVIEW)
Tumblr media
Created by Jonathan Nolan and Lisa Joy
Starring: Evan Rachel Wood, Jeffrey Wright, Aaron Paul, Ed Harris, Vincent Cassel, Tessa Thompson, Thandie Newton
(SPOILERS AHEAD)
Season three of HBO’s “Westworld” cleans up many of the issues season two had but ultimately falls short of season one’s loftier thematic ideas.
It’s cinematically sharper, it’s about as well paced and fun as the show has ever been and that on it’s own makes it worth watching and certainly worth continuing the series going forward but for fans hoping it might have something new to say in the vein of its hyper meta-textual and thematic commentary of the first season it may leave you disappointed.
Season three may have raised the stakes of the series with its pending (and frankly, all too timely) apocalyptic vibes going on in the story but it lowers the bar on its cerebral nature opting more for fast paced thrills over anything more profound or hadn’t said already.
That said, I can’t say I didn’t enjoy it anyways for better…and worse.
Tumblr media
“Westworld” season three picks up not too long after the events of season two as Dolores has infiltrated human society and begun working on her master plan to bring it all down. She has spared Bernard, who now spends his life as butcher outside the major cities but he often wonders where she is and when this apocalypse will begin. Meanwhile a veteran named Caleb spends his life doing the same mundane tasks and mercenary work everyday to make ends meet pondering his existence as he deals with his PTSD. He decides to break the cycle however when one day he finds Dolores shot in an alleyway and joins her on her quest to start a revolution.
“Westworld” is one of the few series that hooked me immediately with its first episode.
Where some series take their time to gain momentum before going into overdrive in their season finale, season one’s “The Original” grabbed my attention from the start with a combination of mystery, action, stellar acting, and the kind of cerebral humanist story-telling I expect and want from the cyberpunk genre.
As someone with a father who talked extensively about myth, theme, and got me to listen to old Joseph Campbell essays on CD  growing up, a series that explored story-telling on a meta level with a high octane LARP concept setting was everything someone like me could ask for in a science fiction series.
youtube
(Seriously, there was some compelling analytical story-telling dialogue in this series.)
So invested I was in this tale of synthetics gaining agency and humans exploring their own personal myth-making and what it said about themselves made me a huge fan early on, proudly proclaiming it to be the best show on HBO several years ago.
I was so certain this series was creatively the best thing on television at the time that I strongly considered getting a maze tattoo like that in the show to proclaim my brand-new fandom.
But knowing there was still more seasons on the horizon, I held off thinking I should probably see this through before doing anything that brash.
Well, a few years later I feel pretty good about that decision…
Tumblr media
(Imagine how fans who named their newborns Daenerys or Khalessi feel right now...)
I remember thinking at the end of season one “Where can they possibly go from here still? Other LARP destinations in this cyberpunk world? A robot vs human war? How can the world expand?”
The problem is these thoughts did not really ask the most important question following that first season; “What more does it actually have to say?”
The first season is, in my opinion, a perfect season of television. It’s a brilliant take on the stories we tell ourselves, the choices we make that define us in our personal myths, and the exploration of our nature and how that relates to choice all while playing out this synthetic mystery plot. The entire first season pulls all these arcs and ideas together through characters like Bernard/Arnold, William/The Man in Black, and of course Dolores. They all, more or less, complete their arcs in that first season and there’s not really much needed to be said beyond that when you really think about it. If the series ended on Dolores murdering Ford and the Delos guests in the season finale that honestly would have been a perfect ambiguous ending to send the story off on.
Tumblr media
(Kind of itss own meta commentary on the journey of a fan and an ever-increasingly cynical series...)
But because this is HBO, and “Game of Thrones” is no longer the driving force of premium TV, Westworld MUST continue because it’s the new cash cow for the channel. Whether or not writer/producers Lisa Joy and Jonathan Nolan really knew what they wanted to do following that first season is anybody’s guess but it’s hard not to see that they have struggled a bit since that point.
Season two is a mixed bag, where the characters literally feel like they’re going in circles. Plotlines get muddled, characters become hyper versions of themselves, and while certain ideas and episodes reached similar levels of brilliance that the first season had it still lacked the narrative sharpness of the first season and that has a lot to do with the characters having mostly no other driving force besides survival and simply getting to the next physical plot point.
It just didn’t have much more to say and frankly in a story about stories that’s pretty damn important.
youtube
(This episode from season 2 is still one of its best.)
To their credit, Joy and Nolan appear to rectify quite a few issues season two had with season three. Again, it’s faster, better paced, there’s a clearer destination at the end for its characters and not to mention a pretty compelling villain for this season’s plot in Serac played by the brilliant Vincent Cassell.
But it suffers ultimately the same problem; it has nothing truly new to say.
This is not to say the season is without any meaningful messages or metaphors. It’s quite critical of our hyper surveillance and information gathering state, might even be the best depiction to date on the broader implications and consequences of a world where we all have our personal information readily online to mined and plundered by big businesses and government. Caleb, played by the always great Aaron Paul, is a good avatar for the everyman who has grown jaded and disenfranchised by this system. Though he spends most of the season looking overly shocked and gape-jawed at just about everything, it’s hard not to feel empathy and a connection to this character as we are quite literally living in a bit of a cyberpunk hell as it is these days and treated just as much as expendable commodities right now.
Tumblr media
(You fucking jackasses are arguing for the wrong things! You’re all being swindled and cheated for nothing! *photo “unrelated”*)
The season is generally best when the focus is on him, as the first episode delivers a strong start in the same way season one did.
Where the season begins to fall apart though is when quite literally the world “Westworld” inhabits begins to do so itself. Serac’s Rehobaum, which reminded me just a little too much of “Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy’s” Deep Thought, releasing all its data to the world and everyone discovering they’re basically all dangerous assholes is almost hilarious to me.
Though the idea of hyper data controlling our every move is a good cyberpunk metaphor to jump off of, the way this bit is executed is a little over exaggerated and clumsy.
youtube
(Though it does deliver a pretty powerful scene regardless.)
This isn’t actually a tremendous problem with season three, but it doesn’t do much to add to what we already understand about the story; which is how narrative controls us and how important choices and free will is to that. All this is already told and expanded on in the first season through Dolores, all season three does it bring it to a macro level and put that onus on the humans instead of the hosts. The hosts were already a metaphor for humanity anyways so again the story in some ways hasn’t changed much since season one.
It's interesting to have the narrative of the hosts turned on the humans but thematically it feels redundant.
I’ll add that this isn’t the worst idea they could’ve gone with, it works in moving the physical aspect of the story forward for sure, and I wouldn’t even classify it as a bad one, but again the problem is the story has largely run out of new things to tell us.
We like stories because we want to learn some truth about ourselves, whether we want it to or not, and Anthony Hopkins’ Ford makes a great point of this in season one. This has been the purpose of myths and legends since the dawn of time and it’ll be no different even when the 37th Fast & Furious comes out in 40 years. You could argue that the message of Westworld deserves repeating or that it’s not important to the entertainment value it still provides, and you might be right. But for a series like this, that is so invested in what stories mean I don’t think it’s wrong to think there should be more to it than this.
Tumblr media
(Maybe, I should’ve...)
Of course, there’s still plenty more to see out of “Westworld” for the foreseeable future as HBO won’t be canceling it anytime soon and certainly it’ll have its chance to still tackle more ideas and themes in the future but, at this point at least, it’s been less meaningful that its first season.
There are other problems too, namely Dolores constantly changing and unclear revolution plans and arcs resolved offscreen, certain side plots with other characters ultimately going nowhere, and a fairly predictable twist with Caleb, but this is the crux of the problem with the series as it stands now and the one worth mentioning the most.
Tumblr media
(And Maeve, *sigh* oh Maeve...)
That said, season three really is a lot of fun despite my issues with the narrative. The pacing, as mentioned, is great from start to finish. I was never bored or disinterested during this season, despite its flaws, and the action bits are frankly better than they’ve ever been as the series goes full cyberpunk in parts with great robot on human and robot on robot action.
The cinematography is sharp and striking too as Jonathan Nolan shows he’s definitely Christopher’s brother with some beautiful, haunting shots of the future Los Angeles city Gotham-esque skyline set to Ramin Djawadi’s excellent cyberpunk score that gives the new season a more noire-ish feel that would make Vangelis and Hans Zimmer proud.
Tumblr media
(In the future Los Angeles will be Singapore!)
The acting is still stellar of course. Though Jeffrey Wright’s Bernard is largely wasted in this season and his plot goes nowhere, his scene with Gina Torres in the finale is touching. Luke Hemsworth is dry as hell in a good way as Chief of Security turned personal buddy bodyguard to Bernard as Ashley Stubbs. Ed Harris is wicked and dastardly as always as William and of course Evan Rachel Wood is solid as the driving force of the series as Dolores.
Tumblr media
(Out of context season 3 spoiler.)
The finale doesn’t leave much to say beyond a pending machine vs human war though which has been building up since the first season anyways. While I can see some possibilities for an interesting direction here, I can’t say I’m as intrigued as even the finale to season two left me.
In some ways, season one left me not too much unlike William going into season’s two and three; looking for additional meaning in something that wasn’t looking to tell me anything deeper, at least right now. Perhaps the maze just isn’t for me anymore but moving forward I’ll be lowering my expectations.
Tumblr media
(Oh my God! Meta commentary on meta commentary! It’s meta-ception! I’m beginning to question the nature of my reality!!!)
“Westworld” remains a fun cyberpunk action series that can hold your attention span for an hour, and I think it’ll maintain that energy consistently going forward, but it might’ve been best left where it was when Dolores put a bullet in Ford’s brain.
I do hope it can regain some of its original spark at some point but until then…it doesn’t look like anything (deep) to me.
VERDICT:
3.5 out of 5

Dare To Forget Me
Ch. 13: Playing with Fire
/ Story Masterlist /
Fandom: Law & Order SVU
Pairing:  Rafael Barba x Original female character
Warnings: Due to the nature of the series’ plots, I do have to rate this as ‘mature’ for constant mentions of rape.

Chapter Summary: Montserrat does her best to help Rafael as Muñoz's case comes to an end, even when the ADA is snarkier than usual.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Montserrat sat on her therapist's couch, relaying with ease what was currently going on with her. It felt nice having a place to freely talk without fear of being snapped at. It was just easy, which showed a lot of progress she made since she first arrived. Dr. Weslin had that recorded every time Montserrat showed up too. Even now, while Montserrat debated by herself whether or not to take it easy on her brother, she showed significant to in the free space offered to talk in.
"I mean, Gael is just being overly dramatic. He's ignoring me and what's worse - or childish one could say - is that he's separating his girls from me too," Montserrat sighed, pausing to think about her older brother. "Sometimes I just want to smack him like when we were kids. We used to actually throw punches at each other, can you believe that? Dad had to come in and separate us. He'd yell at us for thirty minutes without break."
"It seems like your father has always been your mediator then," Weslin noted. "Does he have anything to say about this argument between you and your brother?"
"He doesn't know and honestly he shouldn't have to deal with this. I'm almost 30 and Gael is reaching his forties, we're grown adults acting ridiculous."
"Have you told this to Gael?"
"Please, he's not speaking to me. I have a very a good talent at irritating people, whether I want to in that moment or not. Maybe that's how I always get myself into problems." Montserrat said with a heavy resignation that Dr. Weslin gave her a strange look.
"We're not talking about your argument with your brother anymore, are we?"
Montserrat shrugged her shoulders in an attempt to be casual. "I guess not."
"Would you care to elaborate, then?"
"There's not much too it, really," Montserrat shrugged yet again.
Weslin had come to notice Montserrat only did this as an overly attempt at being casual when she neared the topic of her rape. It was like Montserrat tried pushing it all behind her to form a past.
"Maybe if I hadn't been so irritating at work, people would have given more of a damn about what happened to me," Montserrat finally spat out. "Maybe they wouldn't have been so quick to brush it away and transfer me."
"Montserrat, you're not blaming yourself for this right?" Dr. Weslin feared Montserrat had somehow regressed in her recovery.
"No," Montserrat said with absolute certainty. "It shouldn't have happened to me, period. I just meant maybe if I had acted better, people at my old job, who knew what happened, would have had more consideration for me." Montserrat didn't like to think a lot about her old job in Queens, but the people there had never been the kindest. She didn't expect - nor want for that matter - a whole sympathy party from them, but she didn't expect to be pushed out of the job either. "That's why I like where I am now. At least if anything happens to me again, I know people might care."
It was a rather cynical way of thinking, but Montserrat felt it to be nothing but the truth.
~0~
By the time Montserrat returned to the precinct, many things had already gone down. For starters, the team had discovered their mayor-to-be was using secret websites to chat with other women, sometimes going truly explicit. Poor Amanda had been the center of his attention the previous night.
"Alex claims wall street is setting him up," Rafael wearily repeated the excuse Alex had given him earlier in the morning after speaking to him about the pictures he sent to Amanda.
The rest of the team exchanged curious glances but no one, except Nick, dared to mention what they were thinking.
"What, you told him we were looking at his account?"
Rafael took the accusation somewhat calmly. He expected some type of accusation along those lines. "I gave him a chance to get out in front of this."
Nick seemed to be angered with the answer, as he firmly believed Rafael was on another plan. "So now not only is he tampering with witnesses, he has you covering it up for him!"
"Nick," Olivia's call made no sense for Nick.
"What!? It's what you're all thinking!"
"Did you find any evidence at all that Lindsay is shaking him down or that he's paying to hush her up?" Rafael's question seemed more like a challenge to defy his words, and it only irritated Nick more.
"There's nothing so far on the public sites, but we'll keep checking," Amanda's fingers hovered over her laptop.
"Do that."
"We will," Montserrat spoke up for the first time since the conversation started. Her curt, brief answer was enough indication she was still very much irritated with him.
He took the jab with a nod of his head. It was well deserved, he knew. "Since we're all clear…" he turned to go, but of course it wouldn't be easy to escape with Nick trailing behind him.
"That's not going to end well," Montserrat got up from her desk and headed for the lounge to get some needed coffee. As she was pouring herself warm coffee, Sonny came into the room. "You want some?" she asked without looking up.
"Sure." Sonny moved over and reached for a couple sugar packs he knew she liked.
"Did Nick come back in one piece?" Montserrat slid her coffee cup to Sonny then grabbed another for herself.
"Not sure. I left before he did," Sonny ripped open a sugar pack and let it all drown into his coffee. "I bet Barba is just trying to keep it together right now." Montserrat briefly paused her coffee pouring, something Sonny noticed but didn't comment on. "I mean, it can't be easy being childhood friends with someone who's, well...turning out not to be the righteous man he once knew."
Montserrat carefully returned the coffee pot to its place. "No, it can't be. But it doesn't give him a right to be so rude when we're just trying to help, and to mention doing our job." There was a particular sourness covering her tone, but Sonny felt like there was an underlying hurt somewhere there.
"Course not, but try being in his shoes for a moment."
Montserrat finally stopped altogether and turned to Sonny. "Is there something you want to say to me?"
"I'm not trying to poke or interfere in whatever you and Barba have going on-"
"-it's nothing," snapped Montserrat, but there was a subtle shift on her feet. "And if you're that interested to know, I'm just a little pissed off that he's being more snarky than usual when all I did was try to be nice and be there for him." As soon as she finished her quick, but feeling-covered, explanation she regretted it. Sonny gave her a look and the fact his lips were twitching to form a smile made her feel no better. "Please don't say anything," she sighed and went back to preparing her coffee. "It's really nothing. I'm just...I tried to be nice and he... practically barked in my face to leave him the hell alone."
"Did he actually say those words?"
"...no. It was more of a…rushed 'I'm good'," Montserrat closed her eyes as another realization hit her. "...which really just means he wasn't. Dammit."
Sonny patted her back and took over the coffee preparation.
Montserrat released a big sigh and brought her fingers to pinch the bridge of her nose. "And me being the dumbass that I am, missed that." Sonny laughed beside her. "In my defense, I have my own problems too so my temperament is off!"
Sonny held her coffee cup to her with his usual smile. "No one blames you."
"I think one person does," Montserrat took her coffee cup and headed back for the bullpen.
Nick was returning as well but he seemed to be physically fine. "Guys like Barba, too smart for their own good."
"I'm sure he said the same about you," Olivia gave him a pat on the arm as he passed by.
"What, everyone thinks we should just let this go?" Nick looked around to see who was on that side of the coin.
"It's not that we want to," Montserrat spoke up. "But...we really don't have anything incriminating on Muñoz."
"Muñoz sent out some selfies but that's not a sex crime," Fin said before he chuckled. "All I know is I don't want to see any more of them."
Nick was frustrated that no one was taking him serious. "It's not just selfies, all right? This clown could be mayor. He opened himself up to blackmail, right? Eddie had cash. Where did he get it from, huh? This could just be the tip of the iceberg."
"I think we saw more than just the tip," Finn snickered at his spot.
Olivia motioned him to stop before the comments got worse. "Nick, even if you're right, this is a political corruption case. We'd have to hand it over to the feds anyway. What are we going to hand over? The pics he sent to Rollins?"
The woman in question cleared her throat at her desk. She'd been immersed in her computer ever since Rafael had left. "It looks like I may not be the only one. Enrique Trouble's popping up on other sites. It goes back over a year."
Hearing this made the rest of the team gather behind her chair to see her screen.
"Look, I found ten so far!"
"That makes him a dog, not a criminal," Fin still shrugged.
"That's not the word I'd use to describe him," Montserrat said before sipping her coffee.
"Well, one of these women that he was sexting with just got an executive position at the New York gaming commission," Amanda revealed and brought up the profile of said woman. "I wonder who could have pulled those strings."
"Anna Please," Olivia read off the screen. "She have any governmental background?"
"Doesn't seem like it."
"Hold up. I've seen this girl on a screen before, and it wasn't on c-span," Finn said with a curious smile.
~0~
"I don't understand this. I already have the position," the woman named Anna insisted for the second time, already sounding annoyed to the two detectives tailing her down the hallway.
"We have a few background questions," Finn simply repeated their excuse, which was the honest truth anyways.
"Mhm," agreed Montserrat, not quite in the mood for games. She wanted to be direct. "Your resume says you went to university of Michigan, but they don't have any record of you attending."
There was a brief flash of panicked on Anna's face as she sat at her desk. "They don't? Mm-mm. I should fix that. I was more like auditing."
Lies. Montserrat barely restrained herself from rolling her eyes. "Really? What subjects?"
"Dance and movement."
"No acting?"
Anna laughed casually, at least that was her attempt. "No. I never studied any acting."
Montserrat gave the woman one look before glancing at Finn. The man seemed giddy as he reached inside his jacket's pocket.
"That's funny, Amber, because my partner here says you're a real natural in - what is it, Finn?"
"This is my favorite," Finn turned over a movie box he'd brought with them. "Million Dollar a Night Baby."
With that in the air, Amber didn't see any point in lying anymore. She released a heavy sigh and looked past the two detectives to the open door. "Okay, this is unfair. It was a long time ago. I didn't do any adult films after that. Are you from vice?" she paused to once again look at the open door. She was being extra quiet now. "I didn't do anything illegal."
"Yeah, we're not so interested in your past jobs," Montserrat clarified. She planted her hands on the desk and leaned forwards. "We want to know how you got your job here. Did Enrique Trouble put in a call for you?"
Amber leveled Montserrat's look, not looking so intimidated as they'd hoped. "So what if he did? It's Albany. Believe me, there are people a lot less qualified than I am working here."
Of course, Montserrat wasn't one to lose so easily. "Fine, we'll remember that as we get your ass fired. Think about that then give us a call," she smiled sweetly then turned to leave with Finn.
They didn't make it out the office door when Amber called for them to stop.
~0~
"I'm home," called Montserrat as soon as she walked into her apartment. She could hear clinging and clanging from Kara's room while she set her things down.
A couple minutes later, Kara emerged from the hallway wearing a pretty blue dress that hugged her body. Her hair was curled and pulled back by two clips.
"Stark red lipstick," Montserrat smirked as she headed by for the kitchen. "That can only mean someone's got a hot date tonight."
"Oh, you betcha," Kara hurriedly patted down her dress as if it needed more help. "He finally asked."
"Who?" Montserrat returned holding a bag of trail mix.
As Kara opened her mouth, someone knocked on the door. Kara hushed up and went to answer instead.
"Oh hell no," Montserrat honestly blamed herself for not realizing quicker.
"Good thing is you know him," Kara pulled Sonny right into the apartment, skipping all the hellos and whatnot.
"Unfortunately."
"Montse," went both with the same disapproval.
"No," Montserrat stuffed more trail mix into her mouth. "If I don't see it, it's not real." And with that, she turned away from the two with no intention of looking back.
"You're a child!" Kara shouted.
Sonny was smarter in that aspect and said something that definitely made Montserrat look back. "And I'll make sure to let you know how it went tomorrow."
"You wouldn't…"
Sonny's smile said it all. "See you later, partner."
Montserrat practically shouted for them to get going already. She shivered once she was alone and dreaded what Sonny would tell her tomorrow, and even more so what Kara would say.

Rafael didn't think he would ever have to make such a grim visit to one of his old friends. One friend was already borderlining the enemy line, in Alex's perspective anyways. Rafael still had hope - albeit a tiny hope - that Alex would come to his senses sooner or later. For now, he had to try to get Eddie to come back.
He found the old friend in a familiar spot, the same park he used to play at when he was a kid.
"Hey, Raffi. What's good, hermano? How you find me here?" Eddie scooted on the park bench to make more room.
"I stopped by your place, saw your mom," Rafael took the seat but purposely kept a distance. It was awful being like that with an old friend.
"My mom looks good," Eddie knew what Rafael had come for, but he didn't want to get to it. He didn't want to argue.
"Bueno, we got to talk-"
"You know, they...they fixed this park since we were kids, right?" Eddie cut in.
"Yeah, they did. I remember how you always used to look out for me here," Rafael leaned back against the bench. Talking about their good days wasn't helping, but he couldn't stop. "When that gang from P.S. 109 would come after me for my lunch money...you'd put your arm around me. You'd walk me to school. You said anybody that hurt me would have to deal with you."
"You're my brother, Raffi. I would never have learned English if it wasn't for you. We're even, right?"
"I know that. You're loyal...To a fault," Rafael paused, taking a breath in in order to deal with what came next.
"We're not talking about p.S. 109 now, are we?" Eddie took the silence as the answer. "How much trouble am I in, Raffi?"
"Witness tampering, bribery…Eddie, those are felonies."
"I can't... I can't roll on Alex-"
Perhaps it was the final straw in the whole case, or maybe his irritation towards Alex and his blatant disregard for their friend finally got to Rafael, but he snapped. "You've got - you have got to think about yourself now! Jail's gonna go hard for an ex C.O!"
"Raffi, Alex has always been good to me, okay? He said when he becomes mayor, he's going to get me a job at one P.P-"
"Listen to me," Rafael once again snapped. He turned his body towards Eddie, hoping he could get through to Eddie once and for all. "Eddie, Alex is looking out for himself now. You've got your son and your mother to think about. You're not gonna be any good to them upstate."
Eddie looked out to the playground where his son was playing. "I can't hurt Alex. You tell me what I should do. You were always the smart one."
Well, at least one was still good.

While Amanda and Finn interrogated Eddie (with his lawyer present), Montserrat, Olivia, Nick and Sonny watched from behind the one-way glass. Eddie was practically singing like a canary about Alex's dirty work.
"We got him now," Nick said with visible pride. Everyone looked at him but there was a hesitancy to agree. "What? It's only right with everything Muñoz did."
"Don't get so cocky," Montserrat warned. "It's not real until the prosecutor gets the case."
"It's basically a done deal," Nick waved a hand at them and walked off.
"How horrible," Montserrat mumbled and started to leave as well. Olivia would remain to oversee the rest of the interrogation. "I don't want to even imagine how Rafael is feeling."
"He's the one who got Eddie to spill, so...he must be seeing the light," Nick said, stopping under the hallway threshold.
"Say that to his face," Sonny went right to his desk.
"You think I won't?"
"Oh," both Montserrat and Sonny collectively scoffed, making Nick roll his eyes.
"We know you will," Montserrat took a seat at her desk.
Just as the three were about to have a round, Olivia emerged from the hallway.
"We got him?" Nick was the first to ask, missing how Montserrat and Sonny glanced at each other.
"Yes…" but judging by Olivia's face there was more than she was telling. "We're going to have to do some digging."
~0~
After doing some digging, Olivia immediately sent Montserrat and Sonny to a high school in Yonkers that wasn't even that far from them.
"Is he frikin kidding me?" Montserrat continued to repeat even as the principal of the school led her and Sonny down a crowded hallway.
Sonny didn't say much but it was clear he was disgusted as he saw more of the innocent students walking by. They were targets of their next mayor-to-be.
Jodie Lanier was not a school teacher, far from it. She was a fifteen year old student with an addiction to her cellphone. The blonde girl was taken to a secluded classroom in order to be talked to.
"If this is about the mall, I paid for these bracelets," Jodie hugged her wrist full of bracelets.
"It's about Alex Muñoz," Sonny's response made the girl stiffen.
"I-I don't know who that is."
"No?" Montserrat raised an eyebrow. She had no mood to tolerate the girl's lies. "Then why is he giving you money? And I would be careful with how you talk to a detective."
"O-okay. I know who he is, but I've never met him," Jodie said quickly.
"Not in person? How about on social media?" Montserrat glanced at Sonny who was nodding in agreement. "I mean, you've exchanged messages."
"I can't talk to you about this," Jodie's eyes flickered between the detectives, feeling more and more trapped.
"Because that's why he's paying you?" Sonny's question was met with silence. "Look, Jodie, you're not in any trouble here."
"Then can I go?"
"Soon. But we need to take a look at your cell phone."
Jodie quickly shook her head. "No way. I have rights!" But seeing the two serious detectives made her falter. "Don't I?"
"Okay, Jodie, this is how it'll work if you don't cooperate right now," Montserrat stepped forwards, intimidating the girl without effort. "If you don't hand the phone over right now, we can and will get a warrant for it. However, to do that we'll have to talk to your mom."
Bingo, the right words had been said.
"Please don't call my mom."
~0~
"Okay Nick, now we got him," Olivia said after reviewing their evidence against Alex. And boy was it a lot.
"Now what?" Amanda looked at the rest of the group, all solemnly quiet due to the problems they were about to cause for not only their friend, but for the city itself. "The election is happening and like it or not, what Barba said is true. Should we attack before or after?"
"We need to do it now," Finn said before anyone else spoke up. "It'll be a lot harder to make the case when he had even more power."
"It's not quite up to us, though," Olivia reminded them all where the case would be going.
"But it will be handled before anything happens," Nick said the obvious.
"We have to hand this over to Barba," Olivia pulled her glasses off and rubbed her forehead. It was going to be a difficult conversation.
"Let me do it," Montserrat's volunteer came as a surprise to the group, although not so much for Sonny. Whoever volunteered would be volunteering to get yelled at and probably insulted.
The job was hers.

The last thing Rafael expected was for Montserrat to stop by his office. She came with a mission, however, and it was not a good one.
"Sorry," she felt the need to say as he watched him go through the evidence.
Rafael did a double-take at her, seeming almost incredulous. For a split second, Montserrat thought she did something wrong again.
"Oh God, what I say now?" she sighed.
"Nothing," Rafael said quietly then returned his attention to the report. "Absolutely nothing," he mumbled under his breath.
"When are you handing that over to the special prosecutor?" she then asked, though the fact she was rocking on her feet was signal enough of her nervousness.
"I... I'm not sure. I want Alex - I want him to do it out of his own accord. Be the man he used to be."
Montserrat could say that was a failed plan, but she thought she should be more cautious with her words. "But you just said it. He's someone else now. You can't keep giving him chances you wouldn't offer other perps."
The label hurt more than it should've because it was true.
"I have to try," Rafael insisted, pushing himself up from his seat. He knew what she was thinking - that he was biased, and he probably was - but he needed to do it one more time, at least one more time to say he did everything he could. "Maybe now that he knows what's coming, he'll want to do the right thing."
Montserrat watched him move around the office, trying to convince himself that things could be turned down the right path. She knew what the outcome would be and she was pretty sure that he knew too. He was just trying to convincing himself Alex would take the last chance.
"That's your plan?" she took a seat on his desk, ignoring his brief look for that, and crossed her legs. "Stupidly waste your time? And at night, by the way?"
"It's not a waste of time," he snapped. "I'm giving him the opportunity-"
"-he doesn't want an opportunity!" Montserrat suddenly snapped louder than he had. "C'mon, Rafael, you're too smart for that. How did Nick put it? You're too smart for your own good!"
Rafael stopped his pacing to glare at her, but even then Montserrat didn't back down. She'd grown very used to it by now. Still, she knew this was a different situation, one that had him going crazier than usual. That pushed her guilt.
"You're not desisting, are you?"
"Not at all."
You stubborn man. Montserrat inwardly sighed but still ventured to help him. "Fine. Then I'm coming with."
Rafael paused for another second, thinking it was a joke or another tactic to get him to stop. But when she didn't retract, he became uncomfortable. "Why?"
"Because you're hell-bent on losing your job and because I'm an idiot who loves being yelled at."
That sting was of course meant for him and it was well delivered, but she didn't actually seem to be upset. That just made things odder. He knew he'd been unnecessarily rude to her, in the same situation they were in again, and yet she was stupid enough to come back for more?
"No, absolutely not," he said in the end, but he should've known who he was dealing with.
"You don't have a choice. I'm coming, end of story. Or I go and arrest Alex myself. I'm sure Nick would accompany me if I asked."
Rafael's glare returned, and deeper too, but he knew when he lost...even though it wasn't often. Montserrat got him. In another moment, he would've been impressed. "First, get off my desk."
"Sorry," Montserrat quickly got off and smiled cheerfully.
"Second of all, don't ever threaten me like that again."
"That I cannot promise. You have a tendency to only understand if you're being threatened," Montserrat shrugged and moved to the side. She gestured towards the desk where the evidence rested. "Get what you need."
Rafael looked at her for a full minute before walking up to his desk. Before sifting through the evidence, he glanced at her. "Novak, you're setting yourself up for trouble."
"I know," Montserrat said with all honesty. Her bluntness was even more surprising to him.
She was dead serious.
~0~
The flashing lights in the building would make Montserrat blind if she remained there for too long. Fifteen minutes of standing there were already doing a number on her.
"Now I see why you say 'no' to these events," she told Rafael while she rubbed her eyes.
The ADA was quietly standing beside her, eyes trained on the incoming guests. So many important people had passed by except for the one he needed. Eventually, he began to hear Alex's voice greeting those at the entrance. It was, of course, sucking up.
"Do you want me to come with you, or…?" Montserrat trailed off when Rafael raised a hand indicating her stop.
"Just make sure no one else follows," he curtly warned before taking off.
Montserrat frowned after him. She hated the way he was talking to her, but she tried to remind herself his situation. It was courtesy, leniency, she was trying to offer...but he was pushing her buttons.
"Be the bigger person, be the bigger person," Montserrat mumbled under her breath as she walked past the guests.
"Now? Seriously?" She arrived in time to see Alex's response to Rafael's probable polite asking for a talk.
The local reverend of the place came forwards, almost reeling Alex away from Rafael. "There's a room full of union leaders and CEOs waiting to hear how he's going to save the city."
Montserrat practically pushed her way through the crowd in order to cleverly respond with, "Then unless you want that whole room of Union leaders and CEOs to hear that your friend may be guilty - of several serious charges by the way - you should listen to my friend."
Rafael gave her a side-glance, seemingly thankful for the jab.
"Rafael, todo bien?" Yelina had done the same as Montserrat - moved people out of her way to get there, but the only difference was she did in a lavender cocktail dress.
Rafael kept a straight face when he replied. "Alex and I need to talk."
"Ahora?"
"Well, let's get a nice shot," the priest pulled Yelina towards a photographer and a group of waiting guests. "Mr. Slater, will you join us?"
"I won't be long," Alex promised Yelina, giving her a long kiss afterwards.
Montserrat rolled her eyes in plain sight. She was so done with these people.
"Do you know what they're going to talk about?" Yelina approached Montserrat almost immediately after Rafael left with Alex.
Montserrat cleared her throat and practically looked anywhere but Yelina's face. "I...may have an idea, but I definitely know you're not gonna like it." And even though she kept true to her words, she could tell that Yelina had figured out a good portion of the situation. "I'm so sorry," Montserrat could only say before leaving herself.
As she exited the building, she could see the two shadows of men across the street. She's didn't want to admit that she could hear some pieces of their conversation - turning into an argument real fast, she might add - but it was inevitable. What she was lost on was how someone could deny what was so blatantly true especially when it hit them in the face. Because that's exactly what Alex was doing, even when Rafael kept springing new evidence right to Alex's face.
In fact, Alex was getting offended as if he had a reason to get offended. It was ridiculous.
Rafael was left to walk the street alone since, according to Alex - and a hidden truth - he was no longer friends with the people of his neighborhood. Montserrat felt sympathy for them all, but even more for her friend. And by this point, Rafael was going to go mad. It hurt that he was being accused of purposely drowning his once best friend into an abyss. As if he was the wrong one.
One thing Montserrat was sure of was that friendship was over. The bad blood was too much.
"Rafael! Hey! Stop walking!" Montserrat sprinted after him down the street. "Would you - I know you can hear me!"
Finally, the ADA stopped and turned sideways, his expression warning her to stay away. Of course, Montserrat wasn't one to always listen. "Novak, you're free to go."
Montserrat snorted, her offence etching across her face. "No one was threatening with me with a gun, Rafael. I came for you. As backup. As...support because I can't imagine what you're feeling. I wouldn't be able to take it."
"I can. You can go-"
"-I'm not leaving you alone like this! What the hell did Alex tell you?"
"That he doesn't care, basically. He has…" Rafael stopped for a second, still unable to believe where they were now. "He has no morals left. So now I have to do what my job tells me to."
"You're going to turn him in," Montserrat quietly said. "I'm so sorry."
"Don't be," Rafael said then turned to leave.
"Well…" Montserrat hesitated to follow, knowing she was just pushing his anger to double, but it wasn't a good idea to leave him alone either. "Do you want to go get some drinks? Coffee maybe…?" She'd only taken a couple steps in his direction when he whirled around with newfound anger.
"Novak, leave me the hell alone! I don't want your company, I don't need anyone else! So leave me alone already!"
Montserrat blinked in shock at his outburst. Of course she figured she'd finally pushed the right button of his to make him snap like that. She couldn't say she was surprised. "Sorry…" she cleared her throat and brought her coat closer to her chest. "I'll...see you tomorrow, then." She started turning in the opposite direction and only paused for a second to apologize again.
Rafael shook his head and started on his own way home, but as he walked he remembered this wasn't the first time he snapped at Montserrat while she was trying to help him...the guilt started settling in. He didn't feel guilt very often, which was what made it hard to ignore this one. "Dammit," he muttered to himself before turning back. He didn't exactly know what he was doing but his feet were moving in Montserrat's direction, and fast too.
He spotted the familiar red hair nearly at the end of the block. She was on the phone...and he started to overhear.
"No, I'm coming home right now. Jesus, who are you? My father?" Montserrat snorted at whoever was on the other line. "Oh no, if you're at my place then I'm not coming home for a long time."
Montserrat pushed the pedestrian button to cross the street and waited her turn. "I did go with Rafael to that stupid event but in the end I got the worst of it." There was a brief pause before Montserrat snorted again. "Nah, he's being an ass. I'll go check up on him tomorrow morning." Another pause passed then Montserrat started bidding goodbye. "Yeah, whatever. See you tomorrow, Carisi." She stuffed her phone into her coat's pocket and continued to wait for the light to switch.
Montserrat heard someone clear their throat followed by a, "So you talk to Carisi at this hour?"
Montserrat playfully rolled her eyes. The pedestrian light switched to go so she stepped onto the road to cross the street. "What do you care if I talk to Sonny?"
"I'm just curious," Rafael walked alongside her.
"Why are you back?" Montserrat's question was asked in the a tiring manner, as if she'd done this over and over. (And she had). Two times was enough to get a hint, though.
"I realized I acted like…"
Montserrat stopped once they'd crossed the street and turned to face him. "...an ass? Yeah. You are. It's why I was giving you the night to cool off."
Rafael's smile was wide and amused. "Really? And you were still going to come back?"
Montserrat wanted to ignore his amusement but she somehow ended up smiling as well. "Yeah. You're an extra rude prick but I'm letting it go on, on account of the situation."
Despite the light atmosphere between them, Rafael had to get serious. And when he did, the guilt returned. "Montserrat, I'm...you came with me - you offered to come with me and I...I yelled...I was…"
Montserrat smiled even wider when she realized what he was attempting to do. She would've let it go on for pure amusement but she figured he was already having enough troubles, so she gave him a break and surprised him with a hug.
"What are you doing…?" Rafael went stiff, to the point where Montserrat nearly laughed.
"Hugging you because you need it," she mumbled. "I'm sorry about Alex."
"So am I," Rafael admitted. "But don't count him out. He's a winner." Montserrat scoffed, but he was quite serious. "When I was seven, my mom said, 'stick with Alex. He'll be mayor of New York someday.' She never said that about me."
"But you turned out even better," Montserrat said automatically and missed his brief smile.
"It's politics. No danger of a traffic jam on the high road."
"He was a friend-"
"-so was Yelina. She thinks this was personal, not professional."
"Stop," Montserrat drew away from him to look him in the eyes. "If they'd been your friends, they wouldn't have put you through all of that. It's on them, not on you."
"Thank you," Rafael said after a minute. He looked at her for a minute while it donned on him she'd been the only one to be with him throughout the entire case, even when he probably didn't deserve it. He pulled her back for another hug, startling her, but it was ironic since he wasn't able to hug back the way Montserrat would expect. It showed he didn't do a lot of hugging in his life...which was a shame because he had the arms for it...and a good scent.
Get ahold of yourself, Montse, she silently berated herself.
"Is your brother still not talking to you?"
Montserrat was startled by the question. "No. In his perspective, I'm still the ungrateful daughter who insulted our father." Her sarcastic remark wasn't enough to make it seem like it hurt less. But just like Rafael, a grimness settled across her face. "He's not letting me talk to my nieces, nor see them. I don't have a lot of family in New York, so...it's a little hard dealing with it…"
"I know," Rafael agreed. "You'll get through this."
"...so will you," Montserrat whispered.
She sincerely hoped they could.

I JUST finished The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes. WOW
I really enjoyed it, though not sure if I’ll feel the same way in a week when the book high has worn off, we’ll have to see.
*UPDATE: its meh, I dont regret reading it but I wouldn't recommend it to a friend. Honestly this book didnt need to be a thing but its not the worst.
I’ll admit, at first I was skeptical. I thought this would be a cash grab returning to an old world with guaranteed readers. I was worried that Panam would feel phony, after 10 years away from the original trilogy I didn't think it would feel real. I was quickly proven wrong. Coriolanus Snow definitely had his own story. The post-war capitol felt real even district 12 felt real. This book surprised me. Though my expectations were low I’m really happy about TBOSAS.
CORE-E-O-LAN-US or CORE-E-O-LANE-US?
I just quickly typed this up for some unbiased thoughts before I watch/read some reviews. As I'm sure there are lots of typos grammatical errors, and sloppy writing, I'll be back in a week to revise this review once I've let the books simmer.
Spoilers Ahead
I loved Coriolanus’ story. LOVED IT. He was smart, reserved, calculating, only ever giving away what was needed of a situation. Maybe it was the narcissist in me but I loved being in his brain. I liked how this book dealt with the other side of classism. How the once-revered Snows had fallen and Coriolanus need to keep up appearances, refusing to let the snow dynasty die. I like how thought-provoking the three C’s, chaos, control, and contract were. I liked how Coriolanus didn't have hard-set opinions, they changed as he grew. I find that a lot of the times with YA novels characters had a very strict world view of what is good and what is bad. Coriolanus’ view of humanity is never really clear until the end. He teetered on good and bad. Suzanne wrote a great villain, Snow was always able to justify his actions. He says it himself, he’s a capitol boy and he decides to play the game of fame and fortune instead of rising against injustice.
Coriolanus’ Superiority Complex
I think my favorite aspect of the book is how unattached Coriolanus was. Every time Coriolanus had to do anything he always weighed his options. He never rushed to help because it was the right thing to do, he did it to preserve an image. He’s all about his image. In the beginning, when he and Lucy Gray begin their relationship, Coriolanus never felt fully in it. Suzanne Collins writes in a way that obscures his motivations. He would often do and say things that made me believe that Coriolanus was really falling for Lucy Gray but then shortly after Coryo always mentions how he could benefit. He’s ‘love’ for Lucy Gray came from the want of the prize, the full ride to university, to bolster him and his family name, I don't think Coryo ever did anything out of pure intentions. He was never blind with love, he could still clearly see the options in front of him and every move was calculated, always self-serving. This is why him switching up on Lucy Gray wasn't very surprising, he saw a better opportunity and he took it. He never really loved her, he loved what she brought him, fame, attention, a chance at the prize, freedom once he used her up he had no use for her. Sure he was drawn in by her charm but in the end, he never really knew her, he had been too self-involved to ever really get to know people.
I think his lack of attachments was best represented in his unwavering distaste towards Sejanus. While he and Sejanus grew close (even just by proximity) Coryo never failed to look down on him, he never seemed to acknowledge that Senjanus’ worries were valid rather, he brushed them off as Sejanus being a district kid, never worthy of respect. When it came to it he was ruthless in his betrayal. Returning to the capitol and having the Plinths care for him as their own only solidified Snow’s heartlessness. I don’t think Snow was a psychopath, lacking all emotion, I think he definitely could have teetered over to the good side, but his superiority complex kept him from doing so. His classist need to divide and look down upon only grew as he goes on to become president. He has a very us against them mentality, a rich vs poor outlook where if you were born district that's all you'll ever be despite proving otherwise. Call it old fashion or heartless? He even had to convince himself and the capitol that Lucy Gray wasn't ‘truly’ a district kid, much less from district 12. He couldn't bear it, to be into someone from the lowest rung of society. It wasn't he style, not for the exceptional Coriolanus Snow. Funny how during the game when choosing which of the remaining mentors to eat with he thought “cannibal over cutthroat” while he was the most merciless himself.
Thoughts On Lucy Gray
I didn’t think she was anything special. Sure she was that cool, quirky™ girl but I’m not head over heels for her. I wasn't ever super invested in her. This might be because I’m reading in Coriolanus’ head, not seeing her as more than something to be used. I liked that she was nothing like Katniss though.
I liked it when Coryo saw her as a killer. When he had found the guns when his heart decided to kill her then. Lucy Gray knew the future too when she saw the guns, she knew it before Coriolanus knew it. She was smart, maybe reading from Coriolanus’ point of view shrouded her intellect as he refused to see anyone being better than him. He justified killing her by thinking of her as a killer. He altered his thoughts of her arena killings as a must for survival to cold-blooded. He no longer saw her as a ‘Poor Lamb’ but instead the “clever, devious, deadly girl”.
It was a shift for both Coryo and Lucy Gray. This showed that Lucy Gray wasn't without fault, she too could be cunning and ruthless, when need be of course. These few pages of the book were monumental in proving why Coriolanus was a bad person. It allowed the audience to see that everyone had this malice in them yet the majority chose not to listen and do the right thing while Coriolanus lead his life with that voice. He actively chose to do the wrong thing to move up in the world. His behavior was not special to him, his up growing, experience, and hardships didn’t make him an evil person, Coriolanus’ choice to choose evil at every turn to do good made him an evil person. Everyone has this malice in them but the majority chose not to act on it while Coriolanus welcomed it.
For Coriolanus, it showed that in his head, he could justify any action despite how cruel. I think this is where Coryo lost any last bit of humanity. He refused to see the world and its people to be good, to be capable of free thought. He saw the world to be controlled. These few pages were my favorite out of the book, I feel it to be the catalyst of his tyrannical rule. He couldn't trust the girl he “loved”, much less the district people.
Concluding Thoughts
This book made me think about responsibilities to preserve humanity vs our individual need to survive and be successful. If this what it takes to be president then so be it? how can you stop someone's pursuit of success? At what cost is someone's dream. At least we know that Coriolanus knows that the hunger games are wrong, he knows but to him its worth the cost of keeping the district complacent.
I think the cruelty of Dr. Gaul was needed to make Snow seem like a halfway decent person. With the addition of Dr.Gaul, it softened Coryo’s shitty behavior because what Coriolanus thinks and does pale in comparison to what Dr. Gaul thinks and does. Without Dr. Gaul, Coryo would have been the only one with these sick cynical thoughts, amplifying him to be the bad guy. I think it would be interesting to re-read this book while writing off Dr. Gaul’s action just to see just how evil Coriolanus is without the comparison of Dr. Gaul’s cruelties. I wonder if I would still be as understanding towards Coryo and if Dr. Gaul’s character had that large an impact to make Coryo seem not too bad.
Though I am left wondering how Tigris was left in the dust by the end of Mockingjay. It seems unlikely that Coryo would have just left Tigris to fend for herself given how fondly he spoke of the sacrifices she made for him and the family name. I wonder how she ended up with a failing fur undergarments business by Mockingjay. Had Coryo betrayed family? Coriolanus is callous but he still had loyalties, his family, Pluribus. It just doesn't seem like his style to leave the few he actually cared about to fend for themselves while he had the means to help. I mean even as peacekeeper Coryo sent most of his money back home. Maybe Tigris was the one that left Coryo as she was made out to be kind and caring, lacking the grandiose nature Coryo possessed. Also given that Tigris is older than Coryo, and him being a pretty old dying man in Mockingjay I can't seem to see Tigris being alive much less as active as she was in helping Katniss (and crew) in killing Coryo. Maybe it was her capitol surgeries that allowed her aging to slow?
I think its interesting that in the end Coriolanus still saw what he had with Lucy Gray as love. Maybe to him what he had was his version of love, being able to use someone and for them to be used so willingly. I wonder if he knows the difference between the two and what real love looks like. I wonder what he thought of Katniss and Peeta, stupidity? what's the point in being with someone if they dont benefit you?
Some stand out quotes:
“Oh, no. You don’t like it?” he exclaimed. “I can try and bring something else. I can-” Pg. 85. When Coryo brings Lucy Gray the bread pudding Tigris made. Coryo’s care of Lucy Gray’s taste preference was sweet. She hadn't had food in a while, having this bread pudding should the highlight of her day. The fact that Coryo cared that she didn’t like it and was quick to offer something else was very sweet of him. Ugh, image the type of gentleman he could have been if he had been genuine and not so rotten.
I like how Suzanne Collins didn’t try to get the audience to love and sympathize with Coriolanus. Instead, she makes it clear that Coryo activity chose to do the self-serving thing at every turn.
I genuinely really enjoyed this book. Maybe my second favorite out of the entire Hunger Games books (bold ranking!!! but it might change once the magic of being nose deep in a book for 3 days has worn off). I think this book works great as a stand-alone, I wouldn't be afraid to recommend it to those who haven't read the trilogy.
UPDATE* woah my post book high is bad. DEFINITELY NOT second favorite??? HUHH?? what was I saying? what was I thinking?? (my deep seeded resentment towards mockingjay is showing) this book in no way supersedes any of the trilogies, yes including mockingjay 😒.
I’m not gonna lie, I did start developing a crush on Coryo in the beginning. Him being so smart and driven, so gentlemanly, caring about the little things like handkerchiefs SWOON. Buuuuut he quickly became an ass.
I said that the title “The Ballad of Songbird and Snakes” was a ripoff of “A Song of Ice and Fire” before reading the book. I thought Miss Collins just wanted a super sick book name but as I have finished the book, I would like to formally apologize and retract my statement. The title does fit this book.

4 AM thoughts on the Star Wars Sequel Trilogy-A Rant
So, firstly I’ll say this: If you like them-More power to you. You do you.
My thoughts are mine and I will not claim that they are the only opinion to have because that’s a wrong way to be.
Secondly: It is literally 4 AM as I write this. So, I will probably go off on tangents and there won’t be a lot of structure to this.
So, approx eight and a half months since I was dragged to The Rise of Skywalker and I go back to a trilogy and a franchise for that matter that I was kind of DONE with.
Yeah. Disney Star Wars ruined my love of Star Wars in general and I even liked the Prequel trilogy!
I liked The Force Awakens when I first saw it, but I think it was my nostalgia goggles blinding me to its issues.
One of which it was almost a beat-for-beat remake of Episode 4. Being that 4 is my favorite of all the Star Wars films, this also worked in its favor as it was just fresh enough for the nostalgia and partiality to its predecessor to work in its favor.
Also, the new trio--Finn, Rey, and Poe-- had a lot of great potential. Especially Finn. Former Stormtrooper & taken from his home to be raised as a soldier to find he no longer could stay with the First Order, but terrified of them. Yet, despite that fear deciding to go save Rey--who was one of his first real friends. That was a character’s journey with so much potential and the marketing made it seem like he’d be a jedi.
Yet, I wasn’t too upset when it was Rey.
In retrospective, Rey winning against Kylo Ren was dumb. She should have been decent at the weapon since she was able to protect herself and Kylo was injured but, the planet falling apart could have happened sooner to prevent her from going on a ass-kicking spree of Kylo Ren.
Then we get to 8 which had an opening crawl it didn’t need since it was literally just after 7.
I hated that btw
Then we get Poe who was shown as a smart ass in 7 but talked up as this great pilot but shown to be an IDIOT in 8. Rose’s whole storyline was badly handled.
People were shitty to Kelly Marie Tran over shit out of her control. Rose Tico was a terribly written character and the actress did what she could with what they gave her.
What they did to Finn was undid ALL of his character development from 7 and turn him into a joke for the rest of 8 and nothing in 9. I’ve recently learned that this was done to appeal to a certain market that has never liked Star Wars anyway. Way to go, Disney. You fucked up your new character with the most compelling backstory to appease a market that hates this product in the first place. Bra-fucking-vo.
The Light Speed tracking thing was bullshit. Canto Bite was a pointless side quest. Cut that stupid shit out of the movie and you lose nothing of value. You could cut from them landing on that pointless planet to them ending up in jail for parking illegally and saved the audience around 20 minutes of wasted time.
It didn’t advance the plot. It didn’t make Rose any more sympathetic. It just felt preachy. Also, Rose x Finn was so fucking forced. Kelly Marie Tran tried to sell it but again, she was given shit to work with.
I recently found out that who Rey was kept changing and It’s SOOO fucking stupid to not have a solid plan for a fucking trilogy. (and to find out my favorite idea of Rey as a Kenobi was the first one before Johnson came in and she was No One also is irksome)
Idk what Abrams planned but by not having it implemented over all and letting Johnson piss all over it with his ideas for a subversive mould-breaking story ruined any flow the films had.
Yeah, I am aware 4 was all but stand alone, but it was set up so it could connect to 5 & 6 just in case it was successful enough for 5 & 6 to be made. It was very stand alone because there was a chance nothing would come after 4.
7, 8, & 9 however, could be planned for there to be three because it was fucking STAR WARS. Which meant, they should have had people fucking plan out what they were doing. Instead, they didn’t, it shows, and it also seems to take an almost savage glee at pissing on the past.
Ruining Luke I-see-the-good-in-my-Father-who-committed-genocide Skywalker by having him give up on Ben/Kylo was one of the biggest betrayals of character I’ve ever fucking seen.
Trying their best to get all the other OT characters out of the way so their new shiny replacements can take center stage without any nuance was also irritating. And this is at the parks too. It’s apparently all Sequel shit now with no legacy characters.
Killing off Luke in 8 in a stupid way in how the force does not work. Continuing the force bullshit in 9. Wasting our time on a redemption arc for Kylo Ren/Ben only to KILL HIM AT THE END.
No. Make him face what he’s done and atone as a living person. No more redemption=death. Death is too easy.
And I hate that they brought Palpatine back in a corporal form. Nice way to piss on the BEST moments of the OT where Anakin, finally throwing off the ties of bondage to Palpatine and the dark side and destroying the man to save his son, sacrificing himself in the process, dying at peace. Nope. That now means NOTHING. Palpatine survived.
Force Ghosts fucking exist. Sith Ghosts FUCKING EXIST TOO. Just make him a force ghost possessing some fucker and I might not have been as pissed off.
That force diad shit? Either play it up more or cut it out.
Snoke being a Palpatine puppet was fucking dumb. If he’d been Darth Plageius’s creation then that might have been better than “it was palpatine all along.”
It’s just such a waste. Star Wars was a film series about hope. The first film was retitled to have its subtitle be “A New Hope.” These films? Are not about hope at all. They’re about cynical cash grabs and trying to signal the right virtues to try to exploit the movie going public of their money and attempt a moral high ground.
One more thing that bugs me: the fact they shunted a lot of shit per film to the novelizations. Fuck that shit. If your medium is FILM, you tell all your shit in that damn film. I shouldn’t have to read your tie in materials to understand your fucking film.  e.g. Palpatine’s son is really his clone is in the last film’s novelization. That stupid casino world allegedly has a full explanation too.
No. It’s a sign of really poor planning and command of storytelling that you shunted this information into your peripheral materials. Then agian, we know the planning was shit because they couldn’t even fucking settle on who Rey was WHILE FILMING THE DAMNED TRILOGY AND EVEN DURING 9 THEY WERE CHANGING THEIR MINDS.
And there are lots of other things but better minds than mine have talked about them-like everything wrong with Poe’s backstory. That can of worms I won’t touch because I don’t have the expertise beyond wondering if Disney has a single person with any sort of common sense or any awareness of optics on staff.
Final mini-rant:
I fucking hate the way they’re trying to push their oh-so-special OC’s as better than the original cast at times. Luke and Leia were presumed to have been born the same day the empire was founded because THAT’S THE FILM’S APPARENT TIMELINE. But now. Now, somehow that took 2 days and now their new special snowflake character from Rebels Ezra Bridger has that Empire Day birthday and is force sensitive too and has a jedi teacher.
Like, I’m sure that the character isn’t as Gary Stu-ish as I just bitched about there, but from the outside looking in, it pisses me the fuck off because of all the other shit Disney’s been pulling with Star Wars to distance themselves from legacy characters and push the new characters at all costs.
It’s just I hate what they’ve done in their corporate greed.

Note
Hi! For the Jason Todd Christmas prompt, I'd like to request Omega verse, Jason Todd/Joey Willson. With pregnant Jay being all soft and cuddly on Christmas morning. Thank you!
The morning light was peaking through the blinds of their bedroom window. He would have stretched and probably even yawned, but his mate was nestled against him. He peeked down at the omega and smiled, enjoying the fact that despite how strong and powerful Jason was, the young man was trusting him entirely to keep their small pack safe.
Joseph “Joey” Wilson had never been so in love with someone in his life. The way Jason had taken blow after blow, both physically and psychologically through out the course of his existence was inspiring. He was pretty sure he’d fallen in love with the unusually muscular and broad shoulders omega the moment he’d taken the time to learn about him.
He and his father didn’t always get along, but when it came to Jason, they both agreed. He would be everything Joey could hope for in a lover, friend, mate, and mother to his pups. With a soft smile pressed his lips Jason’s forehead. The younger man had his head resting on Joey’s chest as he slept peacefully.
“You’re thinking very loudly,” Jason grumbled before giving in to a long, heavy yawn.
He chuckled softly and nuzzled his mate, running his fingers through the man’s thick black and white curls. Really, he should scent or groom him, but they were both quite comfortable in their positions and Joey really wanted to just spend the early morning hours contemplating how happy they were going to be.
Jason took the choice to lay in bed away from him when he finally pulled himself up to a sitting position. He started cracking knuckles or stretching limbs as he let out a satisfying groan that ended in a playful noise that had Joey’s inner beast rising.
“It’s Christmas morning,” Jason grinned at him, his pretty teal eyes sparkling happily. “That means you finally get to open the gift I got you!”
More out of habit than necessity, Joseph signed as he spoke. “I told you not to get my anything! We agreed.”
Jason rolled his eyes and smirked. “I never agreed to anything of the sort. I agreed that you shouldn’t get me a gift because our pups would be enough.”
Of course, Jason would figure out how to twist their conversations to work in his favor. It was alright though because he’d bought Jason a gift anyhow. It was their first Christmas together. Well, the first where there wasn’t violence or bloodshed. The first where family and friends weren’t going to interfere or cause problems. The first where they were finally settled and happily closed off from the rest of the world.
Jason being pregnant made their home off limits without invitation. Even control freaks like their fathers, or nosy brats like their siblings, knew better than to enter an omega’s den uninvited when a litter was expected. Just in case they weren’t smart enough to know that, he and Jason had done everything they could to build up their defenses and to make it clear to any and all who passed by their small condo that there was a pregnant omega within.
He watched as his mate wrapped himself up in his favorite blanket off their nest/bed. “Let’s go, I want to sit by the fireplace and relax in the nest I made in the living room.”
“So, demanding,” Joey grinned, but didn’t argue.
He followed after his mate, keeping a close eye on the way he moved. Not just because he loved Jason’s body, but because the paranoia his father had warned him about was starting to settle in. The man had insisted that things like Jason moving about the apartment would put him in a state of concern, possibly even panic. That Joey would fear him being hurt in the kitchen or slipping in the bathroom.
It was kind of nice that he’d been warned about it. Jason was touchy enough as it was. He didn’t like being vulnerable let alone feeling like it. If Joey had reacted on instinct alone, he might have angered and upset Jason. Doing so might have frightened Jason into hiding in either his own den or hiding with his older brother until the pups were born.
Jason sat carefully in the large nest of blankets, pillows, and even some of their clothes or coats. He’d arranged it on Thanksgiving Day; the same day they’d put up a Christmas tree and decorated it. Of all the things Joey had expected of his headstrong, cynical mate, being a big fan of Christmas and its traditions had not been one of them.
Joey moved to sit beside him but thought better of it as he his eyes moved to the kitchen. “What can I get you to eat? What are our pups in the mood for?”
Jason started to stand, but Joey narrowed his eyes and released soft, warning growl. “Oh, fine! I’ll let you ‘provide’ for me!” He sounded angry, but he saw the relief in Jason’s eyes. Mornings were still touchy for the omega when it came to moving around and getting sick.
“What would you like?” He smiled.
“Big glass of milk and peanut butter toast?” The big man in the nest asked hopefully.
Jason also hated being a burden on anyone. He was terrified that if he was too much of an issue, people would abandon him. He’d of course never said that aloud, but Joey and Dick had long conversations about it. He’d never abandon Jason, of that Joey had tried hard to prove, but his insecure mate struggled at times with such an unusual concept.
When he returned from the small kitchen with the requested breakfast, he found a very large box sitting in the nest beside Jason. It was certainly not a box that Joey had seen before. Where had his omega been hiding it?
“Thanks,” Jason smiled and took the cup and plate.
He started to pull away, when Jason grabbed hold of his arm and then leaned his head into the palm of his hand. Joey smile and sunk to his knees beside him and began to kiss Jason’s face, while letting his hands run through Jason’s hair and down his neck and shoulders. He dropped to his knees beside him and took advantage of his mate’s cuddly mood.
“I love you,” Joey whispered softly.
“I love you, too.” Jason smiled before he nipped gently at his chin. “Now please, open your gift!”
“Only if you eat,” he bargained.
Jason didn’t respond, but rather grabbed one of the pieces of toast off his plate and took a large bite. Feeling a bit better about the omega taking care of his daily needs, Joey decided to focus on the large rectangular box. He took his time opening it, mostly because it looked like Jason had taken his time wrapping it.
There was also the bonus that Jason looked impatient enough to rip it out of his hands and open it himself. He loved teasing his mate and he slowed down just to get under his skin a bit.
Finally, he’d revealed a plain cardboard box. “It’s lovely, Jason, just what I wanted!”
“Oh, shut up and open the box,” Jason snickered.
Doing as he was told, he pulled out a black, hard shell guitar case. He liked the guitar case, but he already had one. Actually, it was pretty much the same type and everything. He appreciated the thought and wondered if Jason’s feelings would be hurt that he already had one.
Catching on, Jason grinned. “It’s not the case, it’s what’s inside.”
Worried, he flipped the metal clasps and opened the case. His eyes widened in surprise at the elegant black, acoustic guitar. In silver ink was the signature of The Man in Black himself, Johnny Cash. He felt his eyes tear up at the sight.
“Jason,” he whispered and fought the emotion in his throat. “This is…”
“Everything my Alpha deserves,” Jason insisted. “I bought it for you months ago. Before we moved in and before the pregnancy.”
He gently set the bit of music memorabilia aside and pulled Jason into a long, passionate kiss. He didn’t even mind the taste of peanut butter. He wanted Jason to know how grateful he was the music icon’s bit of history. It would be proudly displayed in their den. In their home.
Jason laughed nervously as they finally parted and blushed. “I guess that means you like it?”
He nodded. “Yes, I do,” he laughed and signed. “I love it almost as much as I love you.”
Jason set aside his glass of milk and plate of toast and then crawled into his lap, his head resting comfortably into the nape of his neck and shoulder. He let the omega relax there for as long as he wanted. He leaned his back against the couch that the nest was placed against. It had been done strategically for when they watched tv or the fireplace.
“Thank you, Jason, I mean it,” he grinned.
The heat of Jason’s cheeks warmed his neck and he almost teased his omega about it. “Thank you, Joey,” Jason whispered. “You, these two pups, and this life are everything I ever wanted, even if I didn’t know it before.”
“Well, I have a gift for you, too,” he smiled. “But you have to let me go so I can grab it.”
“I don’t need a gift, just you,” Jason shook his head and tightened his hold a little.
Content as he was to stay that way, Joey insisted, and Jason finally relented. He got up and walked into their bedroom and took it out of the man sized safe he installed when they moved in. This one was his, Jason had one on the opposite side of the closet. Neither knew one another’s codes, not that either had tried to guess. They respected one another’s privacy.
He handed the long, kind of skinny box to Jason. It was a little heavy, but his mate barely noticed as he took it and began to unwrap it. His face was curious the entire time, however, the box gave away what was inside of it.
Jason grinned. “A Barret M82?”
He nodded. “It’s the best anti-material sniper rifle on the market.”
“Yeah I know! Pretty expensive, Joey!” Jason snapped, but the delight in his eyes told him that the omega was teasing and not at all offended. “We weren’t even supposed to buy gifts for each other this year.”
“I agreed that you didn’t have to get me a gift, I never agreed not to get you one,” Joey corrected.
Jason blinked and then shook his head. “Guess I’m gonna have to be a lot more careful in making deals with you in the future?”
“You should have already known that, Dear,” Joey smirked.
His mate nodded and smiled before cuddling back up against his side. He wrapped an arm around him and nuzzled close to Jason’s face. He’d never been so happy in his life and he was pretty sure that Jason felt the same way.
Warm, happy, expecting, and lost in their own little world.

Part 6===Part 7===Part 8
Tumblr media
I couldn’t help but snicker at the absurdity of the situation. Here we were risking our lives to ensure the safety of the boys that worked for us in the warehouse, and Yoongi just had to come across the one woman that he had once loved and now hated more than anything in the world.
“You idiot! I thought you went back to Greece?” He seemed more irritated than happy to see her and his tone of voice caused her to frown in intense displeasure.
“I was, but after my sister got married I decided to get back into the field. Civilian life didn’t sit too well with me and I was itching to get back to work.” Her smirk as she glanced over Jungkook and I was condescending to say the least. “I heard you sold out and settled down yourself. Got yourself a nice little home life out of the spotlight.”He growled at her words, stepping between us and her as if he was trying to shield us from her cynicism and sarcastic remarks.
“You lost the right to comment on my life when you shot me.” The dark tone of his words sent a chill down my spine. I wasn’t seeing Min Yoongi, the sleepy man who we had to drag out of bed any time there was a mission or a job to do. His tense shoulders and the grip he held on his weapon was purely Agust D, the professional sniper. A man who’d spent his fair share of time in the shadows and who’d killed enough people to populate a small town with corpses.
Daphne though seemed unfazed, smiling as she watched him basically growl at her like some wild animal. “Careful Agust… you’re weakness is showing.”
Jungkook stepped forward, a hand coming to rest on Yoongi’s shoulder as he whispered in the older man’s ear. Yoongi visibly relaxed and the tension left the dark hallway in a single breath.
Jungkook smiled at the woman, giving her a small bow as he move pass Yoongi to stand in front of the both of us. “Thank you for saving us. We wouldn’t have been able to save her if it weren’t for you.”
Daphne scoffed, shouldering her weapon and adjusting her hijab so that if fell more organically over her shoulders. “You’re damn right you wouldn’t have.Lígo ilíthia like you shouldn’t even be allowed out when the world is going to bok.”
Jungkook and I exchanged glances, a clear question in our eyes at the unknown words she’d just said. I shrugged, letting Jungkook know I couldn’t be bothered with the moment. He nodded, his face hardening as I knew it would.
“Listen, all that aside, the world IS going to shit or...bok...whatever it is you just said. And we’ve got people to save. So...if you don’t mind. We’re gonna head out.” Jungkook turned from her, moving past me in order to get to the door wed entered the building through.
“ I don’t think you’re gonna want to go back that way.” Daphne interrupted just as Jungkook was about to turn the handle.
“Oh? Are you planning on stopping us? Or are you gonna finish the job you fucked up back in Morocco?” The venom in Yoongi’s voice as he spit the words at her sent shivers down my spine.
Daphne shrugged in answer though, a smirk dancing on her well glossed lips. “Listen, Morocco was nothing personal. I took a job, you just so happened to be the target. Can’t blame a girl for wanting to make a little money can you?” She sidled up to him, running a single fingertip along the edge of his jaw as her smirk widened.
“They wanted you out of the picture. I obliged, and even made sure you would be able to escape. Shouldn’t I be getting thanks instead of this anger you insist on throwing my way?”
Yoongi shoved her hand from his face, his aura of deadliness seeming to suck the light out of the hall. “I made the mistake of trusting you. And you turned your back on me for a little bit of cash. The fuck should I be giving you thanks for?”
She shrugged, turning away from him with a wave over her shoulder. “You survived. I could have actually killed you.”
He snatched her arm, spinning her back to face him as his grip tightened on her arm. “I spent 6 months in some backwoods city, nursing six broken ribs and fighting to keep my right arm because you shot me. I should kill you right here for what you put me through.”
He whispered something to her, whatever it was I couldn’t catch and apparently was either so profound or so demeaning that it had the blood draining from her face, leaving her pale as death in the low light.
“I…”
“ENOUGH!” Jungkook shouted, having moved so fast I didn’t even realise that he was between the two arguing assassins until he was already there, shoving them apart with all of the strength that his taller and broader frame afforded him.
“We’ve got men in a warehouse that need us. Stop your fucking domestic ass arguing and get your fucking head in the game.” His heated gaze caught Yoongi’s, pinning him down with a glare that would have made a lesser man cower in his fury. “Especially you Min. I expected better of you.”
Yoongi backed down, shouldering his weapon with a huff, though he continued to glare in Daphne’s direction.
“Ah, new master has a bark. I like him.” Daphne’s smirk returned as she curled her fingers around the grip on her arm. Her smile turned coy. “And he’s rough. Mmm…”
“Back off bitch. That’s mine.”
Daphne tilted her head, eyes piercing mine in a hawk like gaze as she assessed my aggressive stance.
“Ah, I see.” With that she turned, wrenching her arm out of Jungkook’s grasp as she began to make her way down the hall. “That door’s compromised, if you want to get to your men we’re going to have to go up. The streets outside are far too dangerous to navigate right now.”
“You want us to go up? How are we supposed to…”
Daphne interrupted Jungkook’s question with a single finger in the air. “We’re going to have to go across the roofs. The jumps are a bit sketchy at times but it’s a lot easier than having to fight our way through those things.”
***
It took us far longer than I wanted but eventually we made it. One building away from our warehouse. I glanced down at the streets, thanking the stars that we’d come across Daphne, even if Yoongi was being a moody baby about it.
They’d bickered for a while on the way but after almost alerting those in the streets to our presence Jungkook had taken charge, shutting their bickering down at the threat of throwing them both off the roof. The fall itself wouldn’t have killed them, but what with those monsters everywhere they would have died eventually regardless.
The two snipers dropped into position without hesitation, weapons side by side and scopes set in place as they zeroed in on the activity in the large warehouse across the alley.
“Anything Yoongs?” Jungkook muttered as he squatted down beside me so that we couldn’t be seen.
“Nah, outside of those Chatter things I’m not seeing much activity…” Yoongi replied. He adjusted his scope, attempting to see through the tall frosted glass windows.
“Takes me right back to Morocco.” Daphne smirked behind the safety of her scope. “That last job we took on?”
“Oh you mean the one where you tried to kill me?” Yoongi huffed as he began searching the street.
Daphne pulled away from her rifle, glaring daggers into the side of his head. “Really? I told you what happened Suga.” Every word she spoke was laced with frustration.
“No actually. You didn’t.”
His half pouted mostly grumbled words set her off as she smacked his arm, causing him to turn to her with a disdainful eye.
“Doyoung turned on you Yoongi.” She hissed at him, from my angle it seemed that tears were filling her eyes.
“We spent so much time hiding our relationship from the world that he never even suspected that I had a thing for you. And when the deal went south between you and him he immediately put a hit out on you. I had no choice! It was take you out of the picture long enough for that pig to move on to another fixation or let some rookie idiot flub the job and leave you actually dead!”
Yoongi frowned, glaring his distrust in her direction. “You could have told me.”
“I didn’t have the tie Yoongi! There were three Elites on your tail. I had to take the shot!” She choked on her own words, standing from her position and turning to me after wiping at her face.
“You’re gonna want to head down and across. I can pick off the ones that get too close, give you a clear shot to the warehouse. But for fucks sake keep quiet.”
I stared at her for a moment, knowing Jungkook and I shouldn’t have been privy to the conversation. But in the end my need to make sure our boys were okay took priority.
“Alright.” I answered with a nod, motioning to Jungkook that it was okay.
“I’m staying here.” Yoongi announced, turning back to his scope once more as if the conversation was final.
“You’re what?” Daphne demanded, the pitch of her tone rising as she glared down at him.
“I’m staying. You need somebody to watch your back. It’s safer.”
Kook nodded his agreement, placing a gentle hand on her shoulder as he nodded down a his elder.
“We’ve got this. The more eyes watching our backs the better.”
After a moment of what looked like a hell of an internal struggle she nodded. “Alright. In and out. Get your guys and get back here quick as you can.”
Jungkook stared down at Yoongi for a moment, seeming to debate as if he had more to say. But the older man just waved him off, almost as if he knew his leader was staring at him.
I paused before leaving, grabbing Daphne’s hand and giving her a quick smile. “Stay safe yeah?”
She nodded and returned my smile.
One last glance at the two professionals reassured me that they wouldn’t blow each other’s heads off as they’d taken to staring down at the streets out of their scopes.
***
We made our way quickly down to the alley between the buildings, glancing behind us every few moments to ensure we weren’t snuck up on.
Pausing at the exit of the alley we caught our breath, Jungkook glancing around the corner to scope out the area to ensure our route was clear.
My grip on the machete tightened, anxiety coursing through my veins as I waited for Kookie’s signal. He glanced back at me, holding up two fingers before pointing at his jaw.
Two bodies, presumably chatterers if him pointing at his jaw was any indication. If they were still a threat that meant they were in Yoongi and Daphne’s blind spot.
Jungkook pointed at himself and tilted his head towards the street before pointing at me and then at the ground. I gave him a nod, showing that I understood. He was going to draw them out so that our snipers could pick them off and I would stay out of sight in the alley just in case things got sketchy.
After steeling himself he rushed out into the street, racing out of my sight and dodging behind a large van that’d been blocking the way. I moved forward, head barely peeking around the corner as I watched the two monsters pick up on his scent and begin to chase after him. Sure enough their jaw seemed to move a mile a minute, the chattering sound echoing back to the alley I was hidden in.
Within less time than it took them to step out of the shadow of the building they were already down on the ground, heads having disappeared from the silenced bullets of our backup on the rooftops.
One last glance into the alley to ensure our escape was clear and I was jogging up to Jungkook who’d taken a moment to wave thanks up to the roof, though we weren’t able to see if they saw him.
We didn’t take more than a moment to contemplate it as we rushed across the street, dodging abandoned vehicles and piled up corpses in order to escape to the recessed entrance of our warehouse.
“Shit…” Jungkook skidded to a stop, staring long and hard at the busted in double doors that should have long been barred and locked for safety.
“Oh no…Minhyuk…Sungjae...” I stifled the moan of sorrow that threatened to suffocate me at the smell of death that wafted towards us on the hot summer breeze.

i sat in the lounge with sam and sipped my coffee. it had been sort of a long week and we all finally had a chill day, that is before tonys party tonight. it wasnt exactly a celebration for anything in particular, he just felt like we all needed a break. part of me thought he was right, the other part of me didnt want to deal with it. i took another drink, setting the mug down gently.
"y/n."
i heard from behind me, loki announcing himself as he came in.
"loki."
i said, nodding back as he moved to pour himself a cup of tea. i glanced up at him for maybe a second too long, hearing sam clear his throat. he grabbed my attention immediately asking me what the deal was with just the look on his face. i shrugged at him before looking down and opening the magazine that was sat in front of me.
"you two friends now or something?"
i sent loki a look, noting sam looking between the two of us. i shrugged again.
"or something."
i said looking back to the magazine, turning the page.
"oh?"
he asked.
"id say 'or something' is a bit right."
loki said, sitting down at the table next to me and looking over my shoulder at the magazine.
"that looks interesting."
he said, noting the plate of food on the page. i nodded in agreement.
"maybe we could try it sometime."
i said flipping the page again. he sipped his tea, leaning forward and resting his chin on my shoulder to read along too. sam cleared his throat again.
"ya know what, im just gonna go. i dont exactly know whats happening here but its making me feel weird."
both of our eyes followed him as he left without another word. when he was gone i shrugged and went back to reading. i heard loki sigh against my neck.
"are we ever going to tell them? you have been getting more comfortable with the touching in public."
i asked, turning another page. i felt him kiss my neck gently.
"all in due time my dear."
i turned my head to look at him and he leaned in and kissed me quickly.
"i promise."
°°°°°°°°°
the music filled my ears as we all gathered for tonys party. there were agents here that i hadnt seen in a while, along with the whole team. i laughed as Bucky and Clint argued back and forth, a few of the team shaking their heads at them. I looked up long enough to see Loki cross over to the bar, people sending him weird looks as he went. Half of me felt sorry for him, I know he can be shifty at times but he really had be learning since arriving at the compound. We'd been talking back and forth, and he actually let me teach him about earth stuff now that it would be his permanent home.
"I'll be right back."
I said, standing off the couch, glass in hand. I walked slowly to the bar, nodding at a few people as I passed them. When I got to the bar I stood next to Loki but not too close.
"Whisky on the rocks please."
I asked the bar tender, receiving a nod as she began working on the order.
"Have you thought about it?"
I asked, looking at Loki through the mirror behind the bar. He took a sip of his own drink, dipping his hand into his pocket as he looked back at me. He tapped a paper onto the bar just as the bartender set my glass down, it landing atop the paper.
"Thank you."
I said, dropping cash into the tip jar. I picked the glass up, along with the note and stepped away from the bar, making my way out into the hall. When I was alone I opened it and sighed in annoyance. It said 'darling we can wait.' I rolled my eyes before crumpling it and shoving it deep in my dress' pocket, sipping from my glass. Of course he still wasn't ready. It's not like we'd been casual since he arrived or anything and that was months ago. I leaned against the wall in defeat, downing my whiskey in one fowl swoop.
"Drinking that much is bad for you."
I heard from him. I tapped my fingers lightly against the empty glass.
"Some could say the same for you yet here we are."
I glanced over at him with an annoyed look, watching him inch closer to me.
"Don't be upset darling. You know how people around here feel about me. And I know how they feel about you."
He stood above me, looking deep into my eyes, a softness to his features.
"You're important around here my love, not just to them all but to me as well. I won't let my tarnished reputation soil your good name."
He ran his fingers gently across my cheek, brushing my hair behind my ear as he leaned over me.
"You say that but I don't care. Not anymore. Maybe at the beginning but we've been together for months. I'm not afraid of what they'll say about me anymore. I..."
I looked down for a second, making sure I actually wanted to do this. I nodded once before looking back up at him, searching his face.
"I love you Loki."
He smiled at me, leaning a little closer  and holding my jaw gently in his hand.
"I love you too."
He said just above a whisper, leaning in and kissing me passionately.
"I was wondering how long this would take."
Tony said, making us break apart quickly. We both looked at him, a blush creeping its way to my face.
"How long have you known?"
I asked, Loki stepping into my side and sliding his hand in mine. I looked down in disbelief before looking back at him.
"We've all suspected for a while."
He said, making me look at him, and the now gathering team members.
"Took you long enough."
Bucky said, raising a glass.
"I believe it's safe to say they approve darling."
Loki said, looking down at me admiringly. I laughed a little bit.
"Thanks guys."

“Ooookay, but you’re wifin’ up a fucking stripper, Ty! Like, please explain to me what you expected? No better yet, explain to me why you’re surprised everytime ya’ll shit goes south?” I stood with my arms crossed, waiting for the explanation I know he would once again fail to be able to give to me. Ty chuckled bitingly, plopping himself down on his king sized bed and scrolling through his texts before replying back to me. “Where’s your man at, ‘Brina? Oh that’s right - you don’t have one. Get you one and then give me some mufuckin’ relationship advice, aight?” He shot at me, looking up from his phone now.
“Oh word? So you’re going there again? You know what Michael? Keep runnin’ back to that shakin’ it for dollars ass BITCH! And keep gettin’ cheated on, manipulated-” Tyga cut me off, “Nah. Don’t get mad now because some truth is thrown back at your ass again. It be all good until a nigga remind you that you’re still single, right?” He threw his phone off to the side of him on the bed now, getting hype and using his hands to talk for him. Michael and I had been best friends since high school and we have had these arguments on and off ever since he started dating Chyna. She was this known stripper in our city where we lived; because of that fact, I expected him to drop her like a bad habit the first time she fucked up. But no, Michael continued to go back and forth with her and up and down; their relationship was a turbulent roller coaster. I only argued with him and gave him a piece of my mind because I loved him and refused to sit back and watch a fucking golddiggin’ bitch treat my best friend any kind of way. Ty deserved everything and more, what he really deserved was me. I stopped dropping hints about us being together after he got with Chyna because the fact that he would even be interested in a chick like that, when he had a best friend like me around. It disgusted me to my core, I was au naturale while she was plumped, siliconed out and paid for with cash. I couldn’t stand that shit and so everytime he came running to me with their problems and he always did, I made it a point to tell him how I really felt about it. Honesty was always our motto, except when it came to me telling Ty straight up that I wanted him for myself. That’s why I hadn’t kept a boyfriend long enough or attempted to have one within 6 months or so, I wanted Ty and no one else. I felt my blood boiling immediately; I couldn’t stand it when he took it there. We equally would start to take jabs at each other, until one or both of us leaves and don’t call each other until we’ve calmed down; both apologizing. I swear this bitch has brought on a see-saw friendship between us and I was tired of being dizzy from our up and down. “I’d rather be single any-fucking-day of the week than do what you’re doing! Dating a fucking bitch who probably fucks and sucks niggas in the VIP room for extra dollars so she can buy some fuckin’ Red Bottoms. Low life ass bitch. And since you’re with her, that makes you a low life ass nigga.” I spat at him, my face all frowned up from disdain. My arms were crossed underneath my breasts and I shot looks of daggers in Tyga’s direction. He shot up from the bed, pointing his finger all in my face now, “YO! Watch your fuckin’ mouth, Sabrina. I’m not playing with your ass right now. You not about to straight disrespect me in my house.” He warned. “Fuck you! I see somebody else doesn’t like hearing the truth either, do they?” I laughed cynically and knocked his fingers down from out of my face. “Nah, fuck YOU! You don’t even know what the fuck you talking about.” He bit his lip, breathing hard through his nose and glaring at me before he began to pace around the room a little. “If I’m not right, then why are you so upset then, Ty? Huh? Huh? Calm your ass down if I’m not right.” I spoke just under a yell. He paced some more before he came back to stand in front of me, he was actually shaking a little from how angry he was right now. I’d never seen him this angry before, even with all the times we argued combined. “Sabrina, like I said - you don’t know shit of what you’re talking about. So just shut the fu-” I interjected, “I know that I want you!” I divulged suddenly. I couldn’t even believe I let those words slip from my mouth. Ty’s jaws untightened as he looked me in my eyes; his breathing still rough though. “You what? What did you just say?” I hesitated before I repeated myself, stammering over my once spoken words. “I-I-I said I want you.” Our eyes locked for a minute and for that minute, it seemed that the world around us just stopped with my confession. “I want you, too.” Tyga admitted abruptly. I thought it was a sick joke on me at first. Before my mind could even comprehend and absorb what he’d just said, he was grabbing my face in his hands and pressing his lips into mine. Our lips were slipping and sliding off of one anothers roughly before I slid my tongue into his mouth, searching for his; sucking his tongue hard and slow when our tongues met. Our kiss began to turn very hot and heavy, with me pulling his body in closer to mine. I sucked his tongue down to the tip, before pulling back and pecking his lips; both of us breathing slightly hard from that kiss. Ty continued to look at me for a moment, I think we were both in shock that this was happening. I didn’t even know he felt the same way I had all this time. He grabbed the bottom of my tank top and lifted it up my torso, making me lift my arms up so he could pull it all the way off of me, throwing it. I did the same for him with his wife beater, lifting it up his body and over his head. Ty licked his lips, examining my body because he had never seen me in this light before. He grabbed me by my skirt, playing around with the waistline for a few before he started to pull it down over my hips and watched it fall the rest of the way down. I bit my lip softly, as I moved my hands over to his jeans, unbuttoning and unzipping them and tugging them down his body. We both stepped out of our bottoms, as my hands ran up his small but muscular arms, fire and anticipation coursing through my body. “Ty…” I whispered to him, my hands making their way from his arms over to his chest. Tracing his tattoos with my fingers. “Whassup?” He bit his lip from the way my gentle touch was breaking him out in goosebumps. I could feel them growing on him. “I want you to-” I began to elaborate on what I wanted him to do and how. I should have known he was going to do things his way. I’d known this man for years now, he hated being told what to do, and everytime he was told; he’d always do it opposite or put his own spin on it. “Shhhh.” He put his finger up to my lips. “Follow my lead, 'Brina.” He said my name with so much passion, I’d never heard him call it out like that before. He brought his finger down from my lips and climbed onto the bed, sliding to the middle of it; his bed looked so big compared to him. He grabbed one of his pillows and placed it behind his head comfortably, motioning for me to come join him. I climbed up onto the bed, sliding up his legs and stopping right at his boxers. They had to go; I pulled them down from the waistband, my eyes widening at the sight before them. Ty’s dick was more than I expected, now I knew why Chyna wouldn’t leave him alone; hell who would? I slid them further down as I moved up his legs some more, pulling his boxers off and letting them hit the floor. I went to grab his dick in my hands and wake him all the way up when Ty grabbed my other arm and pulled me up towards his face. “Nah nah, 'Brina. You’ll have plenty of time for that, but first.” His voice got low and deep. “I want that all in my face.” He looked down my body and then back up to my face. I got the hint. I moved my body up his slowly, straddling him the entire way up until I reached his face. Ty slid his hands up under my thighs and pulled me closer to his mouth now, feeling his breath up against me and making my clit throb out for him. He pulled me completely onto his face, his juicy lips covering my clit and his tongue flicking against it slowly at first. “Oooh shit..” I instantly moaned out, his warm tongue flicking up against my clit was heaven. I hadn’t felt a mans touch in a very long time. Ty pressed his tongue flat up against my clit, moving it up and down now; letting it slide down to slip inside of me fast and taste me. He groaned out against my pussy, sending vibrations throughout as he brought his tongue right back up to my clit to suck on it softly. I grabbed onto his head with both hands, rocking my hips against his tongue, only making him slide right back inside of me. I bit my bottom lip hard, throwing my head back as I rolled constantly into him, loving the way his tongue was stroking me. He would curve his long tongue upward so that it was hitting my g-spot and sending crazy moans rolling off of my lips. “Ahhhh fuck. Yes yes yes, right there..” I moaned out to him loudly through clenched teeth, only picking up my pace against his tongue, bouncing slightly now. His tongue was working wonders inside of me as I pulled back a little, making his tongue travel back up to my clit where I rolled myself against him hard; his tongue swirling around my clit effortlessly. Constantly moving against his tongue and the way he was working me was making me feel like I was about to cum. That feeling was growing and it was getting stronger, with every stroke his tongue made on my clit. He’d alternate afterwords and slip his tongue back down inside of me, making it stiff and sliding in and out of me. I began to grind against his tongue harder now, gripping his head tighter in my hands; thrusting myself into his tongue completely and rolling my hips so his tongue was making small circles around my clit while he sucked on it. “Tyyyyyy. Fuckk me.” I whined out to him, as my breathing began to pick up. That feeling that seemed to spread out across my whole body and make my toes curl up was coming in and it was coming in strong. I think Ty could tell I was about to explode all over him, so he dipped his tongue inside of me one last time, gripping my ass tight in his hands and forcing me to bounce on his tongue. A few long strokes of his tongue inside of me and I was cumming all over it; non-stop until I stopped shaking profusely and grabbing his head all types of hard. I slid back off of his mouth and looked behind me as I made my way down his body, leaving a trail of my juices all the way down. His dick stood straight up in the air, awaiting my pussys arrival as I grabbed it in my hand and slid back further; situating it for my opening. My hand gripped the base of his dick as I slowly slid myself down onto him, hearing Ty groan out from my tight warmth covering him. I too gasped and moaned out as he filled me up all the way. “Oh my Goddd.” I whispered as I began to rock myself on top of him, pulling his dick with my pussy in and out of me, but still gripping him tightly. I almost came instantly from the way he fit inside of me and was rubbing up against my g-spot. “Shittt.” I hissed out at him. Ty grabbed my hips, pulling me forward repeatedly onto him, making me rock harder; his dick slipping out of me just enough. I loved the way it felt when he’d slip out slightly and then I slammed back down on him. “Goddamn, Sabrina.” Ty moaned out; thrusting himself up inside of me harder now. “Take this dick..” He instructed. The harder he slammed into me, the harder I came back down on him. We were fucking the shit out of each other; I began to bounce on his dick hard while squeezing my muscles around him. “Ahh, I’M.TAKING.THIS.DICK! Fuuuuuck!” I screamed out in between breaths, as Ty went even harder inside of me, bouncing me hard. I rolled my hips as he bounced me on his dick, making him rock in and out of me harder than ever and feeling my walls begin to tighten around him. “Fuck, 'Bri, you gonna cum on this dick?” He grunted out, never slowing down his thrusts upward into me. “Make me cum on this dick.” I growled down at him, looking right into his eyes. Ty bit his bottom lip so hard, gripping a hold of my hips even tighter now, literally slamming me back down on his dick. Everytime he’d slam me down, I rolled my hips fast against him, feeling my orgasm building up quickly. “Yessssss, Tyyy.” I yelped out to him, causing him to smirk and roll his hips along with me, thrusting repeatedly into me. “Cum with me, 'Brina… fuuuuck, cum with me. I’m about to c-cum.” He spoke low, with his jaw clenched as he focused his last few strokes into me. As soon as I felt his dick swelling inside of my pussy, it was what sent me over the egde and into my orgasm. The last time I came down on his dick was when I busted all over him, rolling my hips still as I came. Ty came all inside of me, his warmness filling me up only made my orgasm prolonged; I loved the way he felt inside of me. “YESSSSSS, SHIT! SHIT! FUCKKK.” I screamed out, planting my hands on his chest hard as I continued to roll myself onto him, watching Ty’s facial expressions change from his eyes rolling back in his head to him watching me still cumming for him. I slowed down on top of him as my orgasm came to an end, but my breathing was still uneven, as I leaned into him with my hands, pulling him in and out of me slowly. “Daaaaamn, 'Brina.” Ty chuckled, licking his lips slowly. “What?” I giggled, blushing now that it was all said and done. “Nothin’. Just damnnn.” He smirked up at me, pulling me by my hands and making me fall into him. “So where does this leave us? Because after sex like that, ain’t no way we can still be just friends.” “I mean, you clearly know now what I want and have been wanting all this time.” I confessed for a second time today. “Honestly, I been wantin’ the same thing. Just didn’t know how to approach you about it, because I thought you never looked at a nigga that way.” I gave him a face, sucking my teeth. “Ty, I’ve wanted you since high school. Don’t play.” “Forreal? Then I’m mad at both of us. This should not have been the first time I tasted that pussy… goddamn.” He bit his bottom lip as I felt him growing again inside of me. “Mmmm. Show me how mad you are.” I teased him, ready for round two now.

Guys, I have bad news
@thefingerfuckingfemalefury @vo-kopen I’m sorry to inform that the Unstoppable Wasp has been cancelled. Again.
I’m not angry. Why would I be? Because they take and once again cancel one of the best books they currently have but at the same time have a room for the most shallow, trend-chasis, designed by a comitee, marketing consulted cynical cash-grabs that is Marvel Comics #1000? That they don’t have a room for a good book like this but somehow have for a worthless edgy crap like Savage Avengers, whose entire selling point if FUCKING CONAN THE BARBARIAN?! That they cannot afford to let this book continue but let Donny Cates pull out more and more horrible books about Venom and Carnage killing anything that doesn’t appeal to a blind sense of nostalgia for a bunch of 90′s fanboys? That they don’t have place for something actually good for a change but keep pumping out one horrible trash event comics after another?! That they keep cancelling good books like Unstoppable Wasp or West Coast Avengers but somehow have money to let Dennis Hopeless have a shot at career despite producing some of the worst trash in history of the medium?! Then you’re right, I am fucking mad. I’m sick of this, of seeing good books fall no matter how much support fans throw at them because this industry doesn’t give a fuck about the fans but cares only what a bunch of white guys in their 40s who own comics stores think will make THEM money! I’m mad at myself for not doing more to promote the book, especially since I was late with reviews on everything and with this book in particural I put on hold two issues dealing with Nadia’s bipolar disorder due to (thans to IRL-related stress) not feeling emotionally strong myself to see her go through that at the moment. I know how important this book is to many people and yet I feel like I could do more and I failed and at the same time I’m mad that every time things start to look good Marvel needs to remind everyone it is a soulness, cynical, corporate trash that would rather pour literat shit on the page if it could sell it through convoluded schemes than actually make good comics.
I’ll copy what Jeremy Whitley said fans can do if they want to help. If you care about this book, do it.
1) Buy the rest of these single issues. Show Marvel how invested you are. 2) Buy trade copies.  The first volume is now in a digest trade with 8 issues for $12. The first volume of the current series just came out in trade and can be bought at your local store now.  3) Review it. You don't know everybody out there, but when you review our books on Amazon, Goodreads, Barnes and Noble, etc then your recommendation can help other people find the book. We came back once based on trade sales, so keep reviewing! 4) Recommend it! Have a friend who likes comics? Tell them about it.  Get it for them! Know a young girl who's into science? Know somebody struggling with mental illness? Spread that hope and let people know about the stories you've been loving. 5) Ask your local libraries and bookstores to carry it.  I can't tell you how many people have found my books through libraries and gone on to become avid readers.  Probably a few of you reading this right now. Librarians have a lot to keep track of, let them know what you want! 6) Continue to support creators! Alanna edits tons of great books.  All the Wasp artists have great creator owned work. I personally have Princeless, Raven the Pirate Princess, and more coming out regularly and if you like Wasp, you'll probably dig them! 7) And I'm still working on this one myself, try to be a little more like Nadia. Let the people in your life know you're there for them. Help out when and where you can. There's been a lot to be afraid of recently - spreading hope is a radical cause. 8) Know that this isn't the end.  I am working on a new project for Marvel which will LITERALLY be announced tomorrow 5/14, so keep an eye out. It's not Nadia centered, but I think you guys will love it.

Top 50 Best Transformers Fanfiction Stories 2020
Tumblr media
Best Transformers Fanfiction Updates That You Must Read
Since Childhood, I am watching transformers and looking forward to becoming a transformer one day, Grew up by Reading Transformers Fanfiction Stories and was always amazed by the fictions that used to pop out from such inspiring Fanfiction Lovers. Also liking the Transformer Fanfiction Crossover a lot.
Tumblr media
If I Start Giving my Opinions about Transformers Fanfiction Lemon and Transformers Crossover fanfiction, I don't think so that I won't end the topic of Transformers Fanfiction Stories even in 24 hours. Lukas Schimik Agreed ! Don't know why everybody hates it, I think it's still my number 1 TF movie! Optimus new look, Lockdown & Galvatron, KsI (bots), Dinobots, cast ( HATED this Sam & Mikeala ) and the TF/human conflict. Still love it. Miguel GC Gamer Age of Extinction is the only film that entertains that I don't skip any parts of the movie and I like all the characters in this film and the transformers designs are great, dino bots are Awsome. Vincent H well....bad taste is also bad taste at the end of the day. I know you younger kids think that everyone is supposed to have an opinion and everything is subjective blah blah blah but if you're a cinephile than the Transformers are objectively bad films. They are cynical cash grabs made to make money in China. Bay and the producers have said as much. I mean you can like whatever you want. If you wanna listen to Teletubbies soundtrack all day that's your right....but that does mean you have shitty taste. It's okay. Not everyone has good taste. urtpro 2 I'm not hating I'm genuinely curious. I certainly like it more than Last Knight but barely lol. I'm curious the reasons why AOE fans consider it one of the better Transformers movies. I will say it was nice to switch up the protagonist and all that since Sam Witwicky had worn out his welcome by the third film. And the actress who played Wahlberg's daughter was smoking hot, so that was a plus too. Oliver Parker I thought the premise of the world hating and hunting the Transformers(regardless of Faction), cuz of what happened in Chicago(in DOTM), was kool, MW was a refreshing Main Hero over Shia tbh, and Lockdown was Badass! Honestly kinda just laughed off the whole Romeo and Juliette law thing as being just a bad movie joke! I’m mean honestly I know there’s no such law, and as such it didn’t really bother me! Just rather thought it was somewhat silly! Yann Labeille Well Lockdown was a pretty good villain for once in the movies. However Galvatron went nowhere after this. Anthony That isn't true. I saw Bumblebee yesterday and I find it Like watching E.T., the movie is just on Charlie, not really much on Bee. The only g1 part is the first 5 minutes of the movie. Too much 80s references. Sometimes is even boring for me. It Was a cute movie but absolutely not my favourite. I still prefere the first one. Aron T-900 I'd rather get vibes from ET and Iron Giant instead of witnessing stupid humor, unnecessary hot shots, dogs humping each other, unrealistic explosions, parents acting like they belong in a cartoon, patriotism and confusing slo-mo action sequences. Cam Rich I preferred the first and third ones as they have so much more action in them making the films actually entertaining, when most of bumblebee is almost like a compilation of ‘cute’ little clips of bumblebee and that annoying girl taking up almost the entirety of the movie. Max Ramirez Personally prefer the 2007 movie because it's just overall more entertaining to me. Also, you can pretty much tell Bumblebee was a movie that was directed towards kids so 2007 wins for me So Sit back and enjoy reading my favorite transformers fanfiction lemon and Transformers fanfiction Crossovers Collection. That I have collected for you guys. I Hope You Guys liked our collection of the best transformers fanfiction stories and updates that we have presented above for all fanfiction lovers out here. Transformers Fanfiction Crossover Stories 2020(Updated) Transformers is America based  Franchise that was first seen in the 1980s globally. So the first five transformers Films was directed by Michael Bay. I really believe that this was the boost up for the Transformers Fanfiction Crossover stories that I really liked about among the whole and sole of the transformers fanfiction stories including the lemon version of the franchise. Minaya Rojas Tony: We have a Hulk! Optimus: We have a Grimlock! Porg King VII Bee is here what would Optimus want with that what would he take her hostage IT SOUNDS LIKE HE HAS BEEN BRAIN WASHED BY DESEPTAGONS Siidimus Prime! Except they transform their aliens they have Real blasters Different Voices blood Etc. arfhanisbest The interesting thing is that transformers would actually make for good marvel villains. dave tasca The original transformers comics were made by marvel and marvel had to do with the original transformers tv show so they really should try to get the rights back jovinprime Poop soc This would've been more awesome if gi joe, rom the spaceknight, M.A.S.K., micronauts and the other properties interfere with the whole marvel universe and the transformers both. That would be, not only a big, giant, massive crossover event, but a... gigantic, space-involving, multiversal collusion as well Darkknight329 yes megatron hack the armor with Soundwave and turn it off then they all just step on them but they will throw hulk to cybertron and leave him to the toxic oxygen Dr. Nobody Celz On they are robots what is a snap gonna do I know buckys arm was turned to dust but still they have weapons that can make thanos cheese agnas yes because they’re alive. They go to the allspark when they die, they are alive just like us, just made of metal. Bee is here Tony: We have thanos Optimus: We have your mom Tony:0_0 ok you win now give me my mom Hoping that you guys liked our collection of the topmost fanfics about the transformers fanfiction crossover flavors that we have published above this.

Transformers Fanfiction Lemon Version 2020 Funny Part of the Franchise is that the transformer's movies, on one hand, was loved by the fans and on the other hand there were critics about the direction "Worst Director of all Time". Still, there are some dirty minded people who are always in search of the Transformers Fanfiction Lemon and some people also call it Transformers lemon Fanfiction. Night light I really want to be apart of one of micheal bays movie of transformers Flo Parsons see this is why I love transformers, because the actors ACTUALLY seem like they are having fun, and they are such fun films to watch obert Delgad Even though the movie sequels are not that great, but you have to give Michael Bay a lot of Credit for what he does. fake lol Bay is a genius I mean, I wouldn't be able to figure out the scale of you know the explosions Like the layout nig*a LOL, lol or as you typed if, Lol: an acronym for laugh(ing) out loud or lots of laughs, some say it is Lots of love, is a popular element of Internet slang. It was first used almost exclusively on Usenet, but has since become widespread in other forms of computer-mediated communication and even face-to-face communication. Alex Bruh Bumblebee knows how to pick up ladies more than Sam 😂 lala I remember being a kid and having the biggest crush for Megan. Good lord she was so hot Michael ceasar Back than I thought Sam was looking at her belly and so was I saying "Hot belly I guess." hotman 280 Michael Bay while directing: Yeah Megan arch your back, perfect perfect. Get a good shot of her sweat glistening tanned bronze body. Yeah just like that. chief ada Yeah right. That engine is a big block. Fuel injected side draft 8 barrel carburetors. Hell even the headers are up and over side mount. And the damn engine is worth more then the car. As he only paid $4500.00 That damn engine alone cost $20,000.00! Leave the critics aside all I want to know is: How did you people find our transformers fanfiction lemon version? comment down below if you guys liked this collection on some of the best lemon flavors of transformers fanfiction stories. Transformers fanfiction Bumblebee Stories Updated The best part of the Transformers franchise is that bumblebee is the only character that got most of the positive reviews. This can be a reason that people Love Transformers Fanfiction Bumblebee Version a lot. No worries because we have provided some of the best Bumblebee fanfiction stories that you will enjoy reading. Master Yoda "Wasp", "Stinger" or "Hornet" would be appropriate Decepticon sounding names as "Bumble Bee" sounds too friendly. ron 1j2j barricade is a ford mustang and bee is a Chevrolet camero trust me they will not be friends pro gmer yes i do lol they killed ironhide and ratchet and jazz and sideswipe is already missing dnt know if hes alive but hes my favorite hari bhaskar I'm Bumblebee was a Decepticon he'd be dead like the other Decepticons, because boi they sure kill Decepticons like it's nothing. mighty raju Blackout had skills. Shockwave had skills. The Fallen had skills. Yet they all died like they're nothing. Why? Cause they're Decepticons lol. It's simple rlly, they kill off Decepticons like they're nothing that's just how it is lol. habob What about “what if sentinel prime didn’t betray the autobots” I think age of extinction and beyond wouldn’t have happened since sentinel basically destroyed N.E.S.T. And also Rachet and Ironhide wouldn’t have died so the Autobots would have had a great advantage, and then Sam would still be with the autobots since he disappears after DOTMBasically, I’m saying that the Transformers franchise would have dramatically changed if Sentinel didn’t betray the Autobots. ShyGuy 15 In the movies, technically Megatron is an anti-hero. The first movie makes an acception bc he was using the allspark for pure evil, also in Aoe no reason told us what he was trying to accomplish other than detonating the seed. So 2, 3, and 5, he has reasons to his doing Rotf: using the pyramid to kill the sun and repopulate cybertron. Dotm: rebuild cybertron. TLK: kill unicron using cybertron. This is all in my own mind, not sure if anyone else agrees with me Simon Tyson I forget what it was called, but there was a comic book series where Megatron was an Autobot. It basically swapped all the characters so that Optimus, Bumblebee, Iron Hide, etc. were bad guys. Megatron, Starscream, etc. were good guys Dank Starscream If Bayformer Megatron's history is similar to the IDW comics Megatron's history...then that would mean the Autobot government was not all that good, and would be directly responsible for why Megatron turned out the way he did. Because he was a slave to their functionalist system of control, and he would have remained a slave worker miner if he didn't rise up from the lifestyle forced on him and formed the Decepticon faction... Though it seems to me that if this were the case, Bayformers Megatron would still have become a gladiator before forming the Decepticons...and then eventually he found his way into more of the politics of Cybertron after one day meeting with Optimus Prime (Orion Pax at the time) and then they became brothers/friends. In that sense...it would be similar to how the history of the two were from the show TF Prime. They could still keep the part with the whole Optimus being a knight too, somehow... So in short...Megatron really did not start out as a bad guy at all, it was the way in which he reacted to everything that made him turn out a 'bad guy'. She-Venom What if Megatron is a good guy in the movies? Simple answer is right here becuse Optimus accepted become a Prime if he didnt accept Optimus and Megatron wouldnt fight each other and best brothers it was Optimus fault he started the war i think Megatron is a good guy Hoping that you guys liked our collection of the topmost fanfics about the transformers fanfiction crossover flavors that we have published above this. People Love Bumblebee! i love him/her because bumblebee is cool, let me know why do you love Bumblebee and more importantly why do you guys love Transformers fanfiction on Bumblebee. Transformers Fanfiction OC Version  Earning a total amount of $4.3 Billion, transformers became the 13th highest-grossing film series in the world. The Transformers Fanfiction Fans Should be happy to know that the Transformers franchise grossed a total of $1 Billion each from two superhit blockbuster movies. Comment Down the names of those movies if you know them. Jack R I think the first one was more epic just cause the fight scenes were cool and it was the first time we saw something like that. But the writing and characters were absolutely horrific. Bumblebee had much better writing and characters especially the character relationship between Bumblebee and the girl which is much better than the relationship between Sam and bumblebee. Dotm Shockwave Yeah I dont know how he put tlk over revenge and extinction. The last knight is incredibly boring and the only remaining aspect left to enjoy (the action) is incredibly dull in it compared to all the other films. There are no good fight scenes. Which is likely why it bombed so hard Ur mom Gai Ok imo the last knight is my fave AND I ONLY like TF5 is cuz bumblebee new form looks good as hell and Optimus prime vs bumblebee AND there is explosions. EVERYWHERE Boss  I definitely didn't think it was my favorite. It depends on what you are looking for in a movie. If you like character relationships and a girl and her problems trying to find her way, then you'll like it. If you like transformers actions and interactions, you may not like it as much. Even though the Bay movie didn't focus enough on the transformers, this one did even less The Burden of Bordem I'm a decepticon fan and none of the main decepticons were even given a name in the movie. They were just there to be bad. The Burden of Bordem For me I think this film would have worked much better if they just had Starscream as the main villain, and maybe Barricade hunting bumblebee and give them a more personal relation ship as enemies. But like I said, it end up being a movie about a girl and her relation ship with Bumblebee and enemies getting in their way. bandwon he main character is more fleshed out than the others, Bumblebee I guess is as well, but he can't talk so it isn't by much, the story is standard E.T./Iron Giant, the acting is fine, the directing is probably better than the others, the action is good when it happens, but there is far less than the others, and non of the action reached the peak of the Bay movies. and if it wasn't for the fact there were transformers in it I probably wouldn't have really liked it, but it's enough to get you invested and entertained imo. luke jack You really think anyone's gonna take you serious after you typed "Bumble" Haha the 2007 film and DotM were pretty decent films and satisfying in the end. lisa Speaking as a male, it always annoys me, as a child, that certain plot-line of every terribly written sci-fi (mainly Transformers): "main character is a dick=likable guy" "he has 'relatable' problems, that are only explored in the first 15 minutes of the film" "He start having an abusive/creepy relationship (because that's how well written romance works, right...), with the love interest (they barely explore her name)." "1+ hour action scenes" "world is gonna explode (not really)" "Main Character and Love Interest hook up". People always call me "a pussy", because i want equal rights, and then they go make a video about "how everything is now pandering to women, and everything is Woke"... By your perfect logic... most movies are "pandering to males, and straight people only" imo  not like super duper mad, but kinda upset. It was actually kinda funny. But dude, I love what you said about Man of Steel in your DC ranking video. I love that you love Man of Steel. Not many do, and it's seriously awesome!
