i really wanna talk about the maestro teaser

thank you to svt and to pledis for raising this issue. it's so important to create discourse about it especially in an industry which is still on the rise and a large part of its listeners globally are the young generation.

in this world truly where artists are the ones facing the worst brunt of the rise of AI, it's so necessary that big artists use their traction power and platforms to speak up for creative artists as a whole.

big artists will probably not lose out on their traction anyway because of how well-established they are. but they have to speak up for the general benefit of the less popular artists who will truly suffer- which includes minority artists, artists who use rare/traditional/endangered tools of art, and artists who are already on the edges of society.

i know this is too long a comment coming from someone who is studying to build a career which will be one of the least negatively and most positively affected by AI. and yet, as a human, i really feel deeply moved by some issues, of which this AI coup is a major one.

it's so brave that svt spoke up for this cause. they're doing something that no one in the kpop industry is talking about- when everyone is busy hating on people for dating, who's gonna talk about the real issues which affect EVERYONE in the industry?

In a weird but loving way, John enjoys giving foot rubs — kissing your feet, rubbing lotion into your skin and ensuring that you’ll be a melted puddle after the living session.

Nicknames galore: Love, sweetheart, darlin, and never stops; rarely using your name and always greets you with his sweet pet names, and a kiss on the forehead.

Despite his size, he really enjoys having your entire body weight on him, especially your legs. Whatever you can, just putting a body part, whether that's an elbow on his, a leg on top of his knee, or hand-holding, he enjoys your touch and presence.

Alejandro “Colonel” Vargas:

He wouldn’t get it first, whilst he knows more of the ‘old society’ than others, he still doesn’t know the term; looking at you with a raised eyebrow.

Once you explain it to him, or him researching the internet, he comes to terms with it — nodding along and immediately moving on, as like the others, it doesn’t matter to him anymore. Alejandro wouldn’t want to make you uncomfortable, therefore he can live without it.

He’s an ultra romantic and flirtatious man. The relationship continues on, with him expressing his love even more somehow, and going all out to show you how much you mean to him. Alejandro gets you flowers, each different colors for each day of the week when he's home, and lightly pinches your butt when he walks by.

Of course, he shows his love by cooking — making his mama’s recipe for dinner, and serving it with warmth, much love, and a kiss on the neck for good luck.

Within the stretch of your feelings, sometimes fear and insecurity gets too much. Pushing you too far from your husband. When it comes down to it, he feels bad– terrible. Society has deemed it as ‘bad’ or ‘horrible’, when in fact, there are a lot of factors why you’re asexual.

He always reminds you that he’s always appreciate your love, and personality rather than sex. It’s just another things to show love, and there’s way more things to express than having time in bed. No matter what, he loves you for you.

Valeria “El Sin Nombre” Garza:

Within her flirty and upfront nature, she’s disappointed. Of course, she knows what asexuality means — her being a freak outside, means she knows everything about the club.

But, she has a hard time with it at first and is honestly insensitive about it. Her first question is “You sure?”, and asking if you’d ever actually had sex to make sure. But, she comes around quickly and apologizes for her heartless remarks. Her main focus is you, and she would never force you into something that makes you uncomfortable, or fearful. Instead, Valeria will continue on loving you like she’s always done; not caring about the asexual part because it doesn’t matter.

However, her inappropriate jokes will not be toned down. Sure, she’ll try; for you and your comfort. But sometimes they slip out, and before she can realize, she’s already making a few others.

Despite her rough demeanor, she’s quite a love bug — going all out on spoiling you and ensuring that you know sex isn’t the biggest part of a relationship.

Physical touch galore. No matter where you are, she’s beside you and giving you all types of attention: making you sit on her lap, admiring you, painting your nails, etc. She’s always touching your waist, giving you chaste kisses, then happily watching TV beside you when she’s done with work.

Valeria really enjoys sleeping with you, either naked or just in her skimpy underwear and no bra. While most would see this as sexual, it’s not. Her way of sleeping is by smothering you with her heat, and asking about your day as she rubs your arms and legs, lullabying you to sleep towards the end of the day.

Making Netflix's ATLA an AU instead of a strict remake: some changes I'd make to Book 1

It's my personal opinion that since ATLA was great as-is, it didn't need a remake (even if it is underrated). But if Netflix was gonna make one anyway, I'd prefer they made it an AU and make significant changes without marketing this as "this is exactly like the show you enjoyed as kids/teens." (Note: Possibly controversial changes below)

Sexism against male waterbenders because of Kuruk--Due to what is viewed as a "failure" on Kuruk's part to properly manage his duties as avatar and his spiritual corruption, male waterbenders are believed to lack the necessarily gentleness and spirituality in order to bend properly, with combat or healing. Given how Harun was removed (at least from season 1), he could've been rewritten as a waterbender here, with Pakku as his uncle, who still holds onto tradition, even if it holds him back. He's still knowledgeable and teaches Katara and Aang, but does so in secret, with Katara inspiring Harun to learn as well. Eventually when he's found out, he and Harun are banished from the tribe (because beliefs can't be changed in a day or two).

More focus on the Water Tribe--The idea is supposed to be that waterbenders were wiped out, but I do like the idea that we still explore aspects of Water Tribe culture, as well as making the territory larger. Given the fact that most of book 1 takes place in different regions and the Netflix remake kinda condensed things, I do want more episodes to take place in WT territory. Kyoshi Island for example is an EK territory, but is also close to the Southern Air Temple and the Southern Water Tribe, so their culture could be shown as more mixed, maybe even with some hidden waterbenders there. Another (albeit controversial) idea could be introducing Bumi in book 2 before introducing Toph, given that Omashu and Gaoling aren't super far from Each other. We could also introduce Hama here to share more of the SWT culture and introduce the concept of bloodbending much earlier so it's a conflict for Katara throughout the whole series. Perhaps maybe even adapt "The Swamp" episode in this season, since I'm not entirely sure it'll be made in the next season.

Ozai's psychology is explored more--In both the OG show and the remake, he's presented as the pinnacle of evil at a first glance, but that's not completely true. Just like everyone else, he's complex, with his evil being brought about by his upbringing. He isn't trying to rule just because; he truly sees it as his divine right, which makes his persuasiveness that much more powerful. He isn't quite as aggressive and relies more on his manipulation and charisma. As such, he's good and making people fear him, love him, and second-guess themselves. The remake had Zhao and Azula take him for a joke, tbh. I'd also make him more acrobatic and agile like Azula rather than just a hard-hitter, and he essentially tells Zuko the half-truth of Ursa's banishment, making it seemed like she killed Azulan and was planning on killing Ozai and Iroh next so that she could have the throne. In fact, keeping with her storyline in the comics, Ursa does change her appearance, and Zuko meets with her several times throughout the series (removing the amnesia stuff here).

Lu Ten is alive (for a while)--Something I'd enjoy seeing for a minute would be evil Iroh. Let's say Ozai managed to best him in an agni kai for the throne (inspiring Zuko to do this to Azula later on), and Iroh volunteers to go with Zuko on his journey with the hopes of turning him against his father. With time, he develops affection for his nephew and becomes a better father than Ozai was. He believes Lu Ten won't be a threat to Ozai since he now has the throne, but Ozai sends him to help with the Siege of Ba Sing Se, where he ultimately loses his life. This puts Iroh at the crossroads of destiny like Zuko, but he chooses to defend Team Avatar instead. During his imprisonment in the Fire Nation, Iroh tries to calm the turmoil in Zuko's heart, which confuses Zuko due to Iroh's previous speeches and proverbs about power and triumph over his enemies. And I'd also make a rather odd change: both Lu Ten and Iroh are skilled in chi blocking. I definitely feel like Iroh would be well-versed in the art and teach it to his son.

More emphasis on Avatar Roku and Sozin's friendship. Seeing how Roku is Aang's past life and his friendship with Sozin was part of what led to the Hundred Year War, it should definitely take more precedence outside of book 3.

Iroh is Aang's first firebending teacher--This is super weird, I know, but if we're not gonna have Jeong Jeong, I like the idea that while evil (at first), Iroh is still super wise, and does give Aang a few tips on firebending, which he tries on his own, but lacking guidance he burns Katara (or Sokka; it'd feed into his insecurities as a non-bender if he gets hurt and Katara heals him).

Sokka/Zuko and Katara/Azula rivalry--I remember a video once explaining how Sokka and Katara are parallels of Zuko and Azula, given that their mom was gone at an early age and their father influenced them greatly. The big brother wants his father's love and is insecure, while the little sister seems more powerful and has issues regarding her mom. The big difference is that Ozai was a manipulative father while Hakoda was compassionate. Zuko wouldn't take Sokka seriously at first since he's a non-bender, highlighting Sokka's concern of being useless, and his growth would make Zuko feel more insecure in turn. Eventually when Zuko joins the team, they often work together. Azula is rational and a prodigy while Katara is emotional and still learning, but Katara gains confidence while Azula loses it. Just like Zuko, Katara sees it as her mission to stop Azula and sees the pain she goes through. I would also gives Azula a bit more frustrated moments to highlight her youth; a lot of people say she's beyond redemption despite only being 14 and the victim of growing up in an emotionally abusive household.

THINGS THAT HELP ME CREATE A CHARACTERS NAME

Everyone can have the idea for their character.. but what about their names?

Well fear no more—! Here's the things I consider in helping me create my characters names:

COLOR:

Not necessarily the names of the colors, but more so the names of the shades, Lavender, Marigold, Cider, Amaranth.

There are many unique names for the shades, one of them may catch your eye!

SCIENTIFIC ANIMAL NAMES:

This part it's mainly deriving names from animals in general, bet you never thought of that one did ya—?

My example would be one of my characters:

'Psyra Lutie Marcy' from psychrolutes marcidus

just search up your favorite animals scientific name or the characters animal and then find a fitting name for it then wam bam—!

RARE LETTERS:

This is mainly based for names in certain letters of the alphabet that you don't see alot of names start with:

Q, W, R, T, Y, U, O, P, F, etc.

Or perhaps you just know only a few names on certain letters, so you try to search up a name on the letter you think is underrated when naming characters.

HISTORICAL CONTEXT:

Depending on the setting, you can also look into old vintage names this can also apply if the character is named after someone in the story that might be significant or just a thought,

Names like eleneor, Elizabeth, so on.

Wèlp you might as well also name then after a historical figure, Napoleon Dynamite did this and so goes the same with the character Roronoa Zoro.

REFERENCES:

You can name a character out of another character you like or inspired them off by.

Heck you might as well name them after some characters from random you're in.

Freddy fazbear, Sally Face, Franbow.

The names can be from some side character people won't remember but how it can be is up to you.

thoughts on Diamant's "mutual support"

My interpretation of this underrated support conversation and hopefully it makes you like it more after reading this~

(I talk about Alear as a self-insert because we all want Diamant to feel these things for us sorry not sorry)

If you're also obsessed with our lovely Crown Prince of Brodia you probably already know the flavor text on Diamant's S-Support memento in the Somniel:

"A ring featuring the Brodian signet, considered a national treasure. Diamant gave this to me as a symbol of our mutual support."

I've seen that a lot of people were disappointed with the wording "mutual support" and also the feeling of his support being too platonic or ambiguous and yet, I see it as completely romantic in his own way when you look at all the pieces.

It's very much implied that Alear and Diamant are engaged following their S-Support. They wear their rings on their left hand ring fingers.

His words here are a lot more meaningful considering the context of this exchange.

The war is still ongoing at this point. You've just promised a future with him and he needs to make sure you will be there to see it through with him.

He needs to fight by your side always, because that way, he can be there to protect you against anything. You were already fighting alongside him in the army up until this point. But given that he says "from this point on", he means it differently than just fighting as you were. He means it quite literally, that he will not leave your side.

He needs you to come out of this war alive, because you both swore your futures to one another, and these rings are a sign of that support that you'll protect one another now so that you'll get to spend the rest of your lives together later (and add some stories of your own to those meaningful rings).

In fact, this is pretty much directly said, "if we hope to add worthwhile stories of our own [to the rings], we'd better help each other out". That line is from memory so sorry if I'm a bit off.

I also wanted to bring attention to one of his Pact Ring wake up events:

Having established that his "support" towards you is essentially him dedicating all of himself into doing all that he can to protect you, he's afraid of the possibility that he may be unable to protect you, that he worries if he can truly keep you safe. It's so important to him that you make it through this war to finally live your life at his side, and his fear is that he may have no control over the outcome.

You could also interpret this a little differently in the context of the B support.

When talking about the medal he won, he speaks of his doubts, if he had any control over the outcome of a battle that he was rewarded for, or if it was just sheer luck that he made it out alive. Him expressing his fear that you might not wake up might mean that deep down, he's still a little unsure of his ability to protect you, and as this war gets more and more difficult at every turn he starts to feel that fear to a greater degree. That one day you'll get injured and he failed at protecting you. That one day you won't wake at all to see the next with him.

Diamant's ring symbolizes his unwavering support, dedication, and is a promise to you. The support is mutual because you will do the same-- your future together has to have the both of you in it, after all.

what few posts do exist of that nature is less than you can count on one hand and go a far darker route than I would like.

here's a few of those concepts btw that anyone is welcome to turn into a bit of writing practice or into a full thing:

Insomniac specific:

The Mysterium itself provides a lot of potential for many many many fun things one could do and imagine. :)

The Mysterium was closed for maintenance on the opening day? Oh no, you'd come all the way to see it, you wanted to give it a try.. Not wanting your time to be a complete waste, you spend your time visiting other attractions and booths, but you occasionally stop by the Mysterium. You know whatever issue there was, it wouldn't be resolved so soon.. yet you just couldn't help yourself. There wasn't anyone outside it who you could talk to to see what was wrong or when it would be up and running again.. not until it had gotten late and the man in charge finally stepped out. you saw your chance.. and well. perhaps he noticed you a couple times throughout the day hanging around the Mysterium, or perhaps he is merely surprised by your enthusiasm to keep checking by to stick around this long to see what he'd made?

General:

Perhaps you knew of him before his reform? You knew who he was and who he used to be, but beyond that you knew very little. Perhaps you fancied him a little then, thought him interesting.. perhaps a little ashamed of yourself for thinking that way of a villain. but you couldn't deny there was a level of charm and intrigue with how he looked and moved when footage would play on the news from his fights against Spider-Man. Your first time seeing him unmasked was certainly a surprise. yet. that didn't compare to this moment. Meeting him face to face in person. How did this occur? Maybe you were a brand new "unwilling" hostage/participant in whatever scheme he's cooked up this time, or perhaps he is not in costume and merely trying to be just a normal man, undercover.. yet you know his truth. Do you dare to say anything?

There is nothing that compares to watching a movie alone in an empty theater. You would often try to catch the very last showing of any new or old movies you fancied, hoping to be alone.. Surprise, surprise. There was just 1 other person there. A man. No one else came in, as to be expected of a film which you considered underrated. Throughout the duration of the movie, the two of you were silent.. Then came the end of screening and quietly he initiates a conversation. You feared he may be a threat or a creep, yet to your surprise, he wasn't. He's surprised to see that someone else had come to see this movie in particular, it was one he liked yet many, especially critics, failed to be impressed by.. He has many questions to ask you, won't you indulge him? Who knows, it may end up being far more beneficial for the both of you in the end than either of you could have expected out of this simple little late night outing. (inspired by a moment in the webspinners comic)

Comic leaning:

Quentin Beck retiring indefinitely from the mantle of "Mysterio" and selling off some of his stuff as he goes into hiding to try and live a more honest and normal life. You, by some chance, came across an auction for the real deal devices and costume being sold online. No one had laid any bids on it.. you know you shouldn't, but you admired him, sure he was a villain, but you were aware of what you would be getting yourself into with this. Saving up your money for a long time.. You managed to have just enough to buy the items. They were a little damaged, so you stuck them in a bag and hunted down a shop where you could get some safe repairs, tossing out the 'it's for a cosplay' lie to make it less awkward. During one of your treks back home from repairs, Quentin Beck noticed you from afar, he noticed an all too familiar and impossible not to identify gauntlet of his fall out of your bag. Watching you fumble to quickly gather it again and proceed to scurry off even faster down the street. Now why on earth did you have that? For what purpose would you have with his stuff? It wasn't his business anymore.. yet he was curious.. so he follows after, seeking a few answers from you. Perhaps.. he may wind up with more than he expected? in a positive sense?

Omg yes I'd love to do some content for our special koi boy Nishiki. Also yessss Tanimura fans rise up (Haven't gotten to Shinada in 5 yet but I stg as soon as I do it's so over, I am posting him). Mild spoilers for this one, specifically for Kiwami 1. Headcanons below da cut as per usual, have a great day anon!

Nishiki is the type of guy who wants to hide his imperfections from others, especially during Kiwami 1. He's under the most pressure that he's ever felt in his whole life and it's taking every fiber of his being to just stay afloat. He feels showing emotion about it is showing weakness and now is the worst time for him to appear weak. Despite any reassurances you may give him, he's still going to try to fight against these feelings, for better or worse.

It's hard enough to keep his family together, who clearly does not want to listen to a word he says and does not see him as an authority. Losing his sister was the last straw, especially after he tried so hard for her. It breaks your heart to see him so distraught but offering help just makes him rescind even further away.

You both know he won't be able to keep these feelings inside for much longer and the wrong comment from one of his low ranking family members is what makes him finally snap. He's beyond a pot boiling over. At this moment, Nishiki is more akin to a grease fire: sudden, intense, difficult to put out.

Before any of you can even realize what's going on, Nishiki is just absolutely raging. Even he never realized he was capable of such anger; everything until now was done out of love, for Kiryu, for Yumi, for his sister. Is there even any love left in his body to give, he wonders.

Quick to act, you hold him back before his fist can land, but Nishiki will resist, spitting out obscenities and holding back tears. The man who just narrowly escaped Nishiki's rage slinks away and the others in the room follow suit, but it isn't out of fear. You can hear them chuckling down the hallway about how Nishiki can't even actually get mad, that he's just at the beck and call of his lover and can't do anything by himself.

You hope Nishiki didn't hear any of that but the way he just completely slumps in your arms tells you everything you need to know. He heard it, all right, and to make matters worse, he thinks they might be right. He couldn't stop anything: not Kiryu going to jail, not Yumi going missing, not the death of his sister, not even his own feelings.

Nishiki just slumps to the floor, silent and tired. You kneel next to him and for once the both of you are completely silent. No more words trying to soothe his pain. No more excuses from him, no more "I'm fine, I can handle it". You both know the truth. It's too apparent now. Instead, you simply wrap your arms around him, pulling him close.

This gesture does so much more than words ever could for him. Immediately, he reciprocates, pulling you into a grasp so tight that it almost shocks you. Instead, you gently lay your head on top of his, which is currently buried against your chest and failing to hold back tears that have been bubbling below the surface for so long.

Nishiki sniffles, tries to find the words. His mind is racing for a reason, an excuse, an apology. You shush him with a simple "I know." and Nishiki just melts in your arms. Not sobbing outright, just quietly whimpering, finally feeling safe enough to actually feel all of these feelings that he's ignored for so long.

Eventually, you coax him to stand. His eyes still won't meet yours but he also won't let you go as if you're the very thing keeping him afloat right now. You gently usher him out and bring him back to your place, far away from the prying eyes of his family and the Tojo Clan and the cruel whispers of the city that you both learned to love and hate equally.

The second Nishiki sees the bed, he collapses on it as if his body finally recognized that it needed some rest. You can't help but crack a smile as you crawl into bed next to him. Deep down, he knows that you know who he really is, flaws and all, perhaps the only one truly he can trust right now.

Nishiki gently flops over, wrapping himself around you almost like a koala. You chuckle a little, gently joking at him, saying "Comfortable?" to which you only receive a soft grunt of approval. You reply with a kiss on his forehead, to which he finally meets your gaze. His eyes are filled with so many different things: hurt, anger, sadness, pain, and yet behind it all is still that faint glimmer of love, the Nishiki that only you really know. He manages a quiet but sincere "Thank you" before once again nuzzling his face against yours before the two of you fall into a gentle and much deserved deep sleep.

- 'Dont miss Potts me, I'm onto you!' well yes, but actually no

- 'You wanna be the war machine? Take the shot' the fact that rhodey actually does go by war machine. Somehow I think the writer of this line was not responsible for that decision

- The complete absence of dialogue when rhodey flies away with the suit. That's so effective

#C2: High social anxiety girl has to befriend her whole class

Hitori Bocchi suffers from extreme social anxiety: she faints when overwhelmed, vomits when nervous, and draws up ridiculously convoluted plans to avoid social contact. As she graduated from elementary school into middle school, her best and only friend, Yawara Kai, will be attending a different school. On top of that, Kai gives her an ultimatum: she’ll stop being Bocchi’s friend and sever all ties with her until Bocchi befriends all of her classmates in her new class. Will Bocchi make it!?

#C7: Comedy with high school girls with unique personalities

It’s the first year of high school in an all-girls’ school. All the girls in class 1-A have different expectations for their high school careers: some want to study hard, some want to hone their skills in drawing manga, some want to become biologists, some want to be popular with boys (…that last one might prove a bit challenging in an all-girls’ school…) The story revolves around the unique personalities of the girls in this class - not just the main trio, but the others classmates too - and their relationships with each other, in school and outside of it. So many shenanigans ensue.

This is a fun and lighthearted show. Watch it if you need something cute to chill out! The art is cute and colorful, the music lively, and the animation fine enough.

As it's adapted from a four-panel gag manga, the story is simple and focuses on the various characters. They all have pun-based names related to their main personality trait, so they're easy to remember if you know some basic Japanese (Hitori Bocchi means all alone, for example). The girls are all adorable and fun in their own quirky ways, and I loved seeing the heroine doing her utmost best to overcome her fears -and other challenges- to befriend them in the hope of fulfilling her promise. That's the power of the Do-Your-Best Fairy! They all care for each other (despite some teasing) and help Bocchi with her monumental task, never pulling her down for her struggles but gently pushing her in the back when needed.

But most importantly, Hitori Bocchi is a very relatable character. As someone suffering the same trouble, I related a lot with Bocchi, from her silliest worries to her escalating panic and weird schemes in an attempt to prevent anything wrong. Anxiety is faithfully represented, mixed with the right amount of laughing to how far Bocchi can get to avoid fearful situations in her very cute ways. It feels good to see a character like me in a such positive light! The struggles are real and acknowledged, and it’s really moving to see our heroine overcome them little by little in a very humanizing way.

This series has become one of my comfort materials, and I come back to it when I need hope and inspiration in everyday social interactions! Wasteful Days of High School Girls is fast-paced and genre-savvy, subverting a lot of high school anime tropes in ways that are really delightful even if you yourself aren't that familiar with high school animes. But most of all it is cool in a way that only awkward, weird, realistic teenagers can be. It probably won't make you long for your own high school days (if they are in the past), but that is a good thing, because sometimes only a good comedy can really lay bare what life is really like when you're a teenager.

The thing that makes this show so amazing is the characters. These are anime characters with some real Character with a capital C. Everyone is such a real and unique human personality; not just the main trio but all their classmates too AND the teacher and even the nurse that only appears in like one episode!

This is a show with the lowest of stakes and it still manages to feel like something incredibly significant has happened when you get to the end of it. And something incredibly significant has happened! Life happened! An entire year of it!

yeah definitely!! (ily too?!?! 😭💖) also sorry if this is way too long and detailed lol help

here are my favourites/starting recommendations in the dw main range (these ones are free on spotify btw!)

storm warning - there's no better place to start! it's the first 8th dr audio drama ever, introduces charley, and is a good fun story too

chimes of midnight - one of the classic must-listens, scary and fascinating and weird

seasons of fear - simply very good

embrace the darkness - underrated in my opinion!

time of the daleks - a bit silly and dumb but in a doctor who way so it's a bit of fun imo

after this it gets into neverland, zagreus, and the entire divergent universe arc, which are extremely important and good, really the meat of the 8th dr main range stories (the other classics are in here like scherzo and the natural history of fear) but you basically have to listen to these all in order, and they're not a great place to *start* bc it's way better if you're familiar with the characters and the medium etc. first

the thing about the main range dramas though ^^ is they can be quite long and hard to focus on (they're more in the style of classic dw), especially if you're not used to radio plays to begin with, so if that's an issue for you i would recommend the 8th doctor and lucie adventures to start. they're shorter and more fast-paced (more like new dw) and tbh the quality of the stories is more consistently good than the main range. if that's where you want to start, i would recommend just starting from the beginning (blood of the daleks 1 and 2) bc all of series 1 was great! and while it came after the main range, they're not super connected so you won't be lost

but for fun, since i'm already listing things, my absolute fave 8th doctor and lucie dramas are:

hi, sorry this is rly random but i kinda need advice. i'm kind of a mess but i hope it's okay to come to you like this.

so i have had Zero romantic experiences since birth, and i just feel so empty because i don't love anyone. i don't know how to love at all, like romantically and with full commitment, but i am yearning from the bottom of my heart. it's so.. heartbreaking to yearn for this kind of experience. i've been alone for too long, independence is not enough anymore. i need to love someone and for someone to love me. but i hate to be the one to chase, i want to attract. but i fear that i'm just not interesting enough. so i always wonder when the time will come. i always work on myself, for myself, and in hopes that maybe someone will look at me the way i love myself. i do love myself but i've always been waiting. i don't want to wait anymore. this is making me really sad, idk how to deal with it.. i'm embarrassed to tell my friends about it, and ofc i won't open up to my family bc i've been put on a pedestal, as someone who doesn't care about relationships. but i do, little do they know.

this is really silly, but idk, i just needed for someone in the world to know how i feel at least :( anyway, thanks in advance. i hope you're well.

It’s not silly at all! This is such a valid way to feel. One of my fav underrated new girl quotes is when Winston says “I got so much love to give, man. Why doesn’t anybody want to give it back?” because I FELT that. I wish I had better advice but I’m in a similar boat. I think you and I just have to hold out hope that it’ll happen for us one day and we will find someone who can give us as much love as we can give them 💜💜

Ur aus have given me brainworms on multiple accounts and kept me awake at night thinking about them. I like ur darker content and ur the only one who writes yandere correctly and thats very cool and awesome of you.

Are you ok? My messages are always open if you need someone to talk to. Tell me what ideas you have. The ones you were talking about in ur latest post sound very interesting and i would love to hear about them if you feel like telling.

Also another thing i really like about your writing is you rarely use pronouns or names thats really cool of you.

Horror was something I loved all my life, I grew up watching Courage the Cowardly Dog and loving the ever loving fuck out of it! And eventually I was introduced to the concept of cosmic horror, which I really loved cause there's a whole lot of freedom to it, as cosmic horror doesn't rely on small spaces and singular locations to have that fear. Cosmic horror is ever looming. No matter where you go, you won't escape it's watch. Or, perhaps it doesn't care at all. It doesn't care for you, not will it care for your death. Or perhaps they care too much, but they will never understand what humans like.

And as for the ok part, I have to say that it's getting colder in my part of the woods, so I've been pretty lethargic. Depression gets heavier during these times. So, while my brain is going "Eh, could be worse," logically, I know I'm not okay. I know this state I'm in is not normal, but emotionally, my brain does not see it? Does that make sense? Apathetic depression is weird like that.

Hehehehe I'm glad you noticed the lack of pronouns and names used! Growing up, I've been quite used to reading reader inserts that are female with she/her pronouns, mostly because I was under the impression that that was all there was. And any of the male reader inserts I found were, uh, well you could usually tell they weren't written by men by the use of (M/N) and all that, and tends to reflect troupes found in the popular yaoi genre, which I'm not really into.

And then I got introduced to gender neutral reader inserts and interactive fiction. I have not gone back. My little brain go to work and I just had to adopt that style of reader insert writing. So, here I am, many years later, with this blog.

I'm actually getting started on making that blog to dump all my ideas in. Right now, all the ideas I have aren't exactly set in stone, they're just feelings, you get me? Most of these ideas I have are actually based off of dreams I had, so I just decided to turn them into reader inserts.

Album of the month - August 2022: Dublin Blues - Guy Clark

The title track of this album first started sneaking around in my daily shuffle quite a long time ago. When I was still on Spotify, that is, and I was much more used to just let the alghoritmn take me on a random journey from time to time. I loved it right away, with its peaceful yet desperate vibe and the way it ironically blends European “high art” with “simple”, every day life pleasures typical of the state he was born in, with music obviously being at the center of it, a theme that is very dear to my heart: “I have seen the David, mmm/I've seen the Mona Lisa too/And I have heard Doc Watson/Play "Columbus Stockade Blues". This was soon after I’d first discovered Guy Clark’s music, with two amazing records that absolutely blew me away on first listen. His second, Texas Cookin’, and especially his debut, Old N.1. After that, however, I feared he might suffer from the stellar debut syndrome, as in those artists that were able to so completely blow me away with their first album(s) - or the first I heard - there was no way another album of theirs could capture my imagination quite as well. Yet about 9 months later, his 1995 release Dublin Blues was thankfully able to prove me wrong.

Guy Clark is an impossibly underrated and overlooked songwriter, one so obsessed with the most meticulous aspects of the craft of songwriting (without ever losing sight of autenticity) that when it comes to his best material, he really can do no wrong. There’s nothing even resembling a filler track on this album, not even a word or a line out of place, just 10 wonderful songs that like only the best country music can do, make simplicity feel so very complex and in depth. I’m completely in love with the way it sounds, too, (definitely his most cohesive sounding record since Old N.1), but what drew me in most of all was the realness and honesty both of the lyrics and the performance. He’s always been very much an instinctive singer, not so much concerned with the technical aspect of it, more as a way to fully convey his unique personality. The way he half sings half talks his way through songs, the way he starts laughing or humming mid sentence, or strongly emphasizes every little Texan inflection. Every song really seems to scream “this is who I am”, but never in an arrogant way. He’s also just pouring his heart out left and right. He puts it all on the table and there’s no chance you won’t have a clear idea of who Guy Clark was at the end of this album.

Picking favorites from it is an incredibly hard task, but the way he confesses his endless devotion to everything and everybody that is already part of his life and he intends to keep around in Stuff That Works is constantly moving to me: “I got a woman I love, she's crazy, paints like God/She's got a playground sense of justice, she won't take odds/I got a tattoo with her name right through my soul/I think everything she touches turns to gold”. As well as the impossibly humble and heartfelt love declaration of Trying to Try, where he realizes the only promise he can keep is that he’ll never stop trying to make things better for himself and the woman he loves and that’s a promise he will never break no matter what happens. I could keep naming songs from it, because they seriously are all amazing. I hope whoever reads this decides to give this album (or other Guy albums) a shot because the truth is he deserves a lot more attention. He’s one of the finest songwriters you can hope to hear.
