Yes hi, thank you anon, I will gladly cry over single dad Dirk any day of the week.

Dirk is the last of the group to have kids. He didn't really plan on having a kid of his own because Dave, Rose, and Roxy all have kids that keep him busy.

So by the time Dirk has his daughter Bolt all of his nieces and nephews (btw what is a gender neutral title for a niece and/or nephew??? Google was not helpful.) are in their mid teens to early adulthood.

Why yes, he does name is daughter after a common part needed to build robots. She is scared of robots too.

To say that Dirk spoils his daughter is a understatement. That little girl is his princess and trust me she knows it. He wants to give Bolt everything he wanted as a kid but could never have.

They have papa and daughter rap battles. It is adorable. Bolt cannot rap for shit, but she tries!

Dirk is a pretty laid back dad tbt. He doesn't have many strict rules. That being said he does have a hard time sticking to the dad role, and not falling back into the uncle role he is so used to.

One of Dirk's biggest parenting weakness is that he isn't great at giving discipline. It is other harsh or not harsh enough.

One of his greatest strengths is that he is amazing at supporting his daughters hobbies and interests. It doesn't matter if he shares them with her or not, he is her #1 supporter.

I think Dirk would actually be big on healthy eating and exploring all kinds of new dishes. It is rare for them to make the same meal more than twice. This is something is daughter gets tired of all the time. Can't Bolt just have a PB&J sandwiches for once?

Dave and Karkat 100% sign their kid(s) up for free babysitting. She learns how to swear from them and not Dirk.

Once his daughter enters the world Dirk cuts things off with Jake. As much as I love DirkJake, I cannot see them in a stable relationship. It is always off and on with them.

Dirk goes to Rose and Roxy for advice all the time on anything female health related. Meanwhile his daughter goes to auntie Jade when she needs help.
