wake up at 5 am walking for 10 minutes brushing teeth workout drink 1 glass of warm water go to toilet (stooling) bath skin care breakfast at 9 am [recipe : oats with peanut butter, milk, cashew nut + almond sprinkled and honey (overnight in fridge will be great) ] study lunch at 1 pm [ lunch : any vegetable curry with rice ] study clean house at 4 pm workout + walking for 10 minutes drinking green tea at 6 pm study having dinner at 9 pm [ same as breakfast ] study drinking milk before sleeping brushing teeth skin care sleep

Hi, I hope this isn't something you've answered already but I am a 20 something coming out of a bad few years of multiple health issues (multiple surgeries and mental health struggles) and I want to come back from that but I've never worked out a day in my life. I don't really know where to start. I have just been coasting on my metabolism and daily activities to keep me healthy for so long and now I feel lost. After all that's happened in the past few years lowering daily activities, I've really become unhappy with my body and the shape I'm in. I just don't even know where to start: gym or home? treadmill or weights? how do I pace myself?
If you or anyone here in this community can help me out with some advice, an anxious girly would be very very appreciative 🩷
Hi love! I'm so sorry to hear that you've been dealing with all of these health issues for so long. Glad to hear that it sounds like you're on the upswing.
While it's easier said than done, I think the best thing to do is to offer yourself some compassion for what you've been through and validate how your body has been trying to cope with all of the internal/external stressors given these difficult few years, so you can allow yourself to move forward with a healthy frame of mind.
Personally, I would start small, become consistent with the simplest habits, and work your way up over time. Try taking 30-minute walks at least 5 days a week, if not daily, at first and see how you feel. Then, up it to 45-60 minutes per day. Add in a couple of 10-20 minute body weight exercises too with some consistent daily/5x a week walking after a couple of weeks once you get into a relatively easy/effortless routine.
Once you have the basics down and are consistent with these small habits, consider the types of exercises you want to try/experiment with different types until you find one that feels good to you and you can enjoy doing them consistently – whether it's a gym routine, weights, yoga, boxing, etc.
