Wen Kexing!! My focus here was to channel his coolness even through warm colors, and to get his... "essential vibes" through one picture. More (rambling) below! (this is essentially a post about WKX's personality)

A big case can be made about "who or what is the 'true' Wen Kexing". So; let's be real, I don't know if anyone makes a "big case" out of it, but I sure have seen people seemingly arguing against a vague 'common opinion' regarding Wen Kexing's personality. The """common""" opinion (allegedly): the true Wen Kexing is [insert one of WKX's facets] (or something along those lines) The case against it: all Wen Kexing's are the true Wen Kexing Now I do agree with the fact that "all Wen Kexing's" are Wen Kexing, technically. For clarity, let's list and name those various facets (most are commonly accepted, some I'll just name on the go): - Wen Kexing: I'll use his full name for the personality we're first met with in the book. Someone cold, rather quiet, analytical and distant. Giving off strange vibes in social situations (ZZS thinking he's weird, other jianghu figures being creeped out by him or thinking that he's up to no good), contemptuous - Philantropist Wen: The more extravagant, (bullshit) storyteller, outrageous and shameless flirting enthusiast version of WKX. - Valley Master Wen: cold, calculating, quiet, cruel, unbelievably patient, dislikes fun and games, barely feels anything - Wife Wen: The over the top dramatic wife whose life is made difficult by his difficult and shameless husband, essentially a lot of roleplaying the good littol domestic wife and whatnot - The wooden man: similar as Valley Master but demure and apparently subservient? (for calculated purposes) Okay they could be more I guess, but the point is, we have an array of WKX personas and personalities and the actual consensus (I think, my sample is like 10 people so....) is that every one of those is "true" to WKX and that not one of them is a fully constructed persona. Now, while I agree, I guess that what I wonder is: what is WKX in his resting state? If nothing is happening and that he's not in a particularly social or specific situation, what do we get to see? I think that the answer mostly resides in extra 4, which is an INCREDIBLE retelling of TYK from WKX's perspective; someone who thinks quite a lot, and for long, someone who observes things with distance and little to no emotion. Someone who is used to having one goal (revenge, taking care of ZZS during his coma), and who will probably go through a lot of quiet thinking when finally faced with the void of not having one specific thing to aim for. Someone who will have to learn to find joy/happiness, and who probably doesn't... get there "naturally"? (and by that I mean, without ZZS or without directly following ZZS around). Someone whose ties to his own emotions have been severed a long time ago, I guess. Someone still quite contemptuous of many things and people and who has a whole life he didn't plan for or even consider ahead of him. Which is............ what I tried to draw............ here..................... KUROO doesn't hesitate before saying "hey, babe," then high-fiving you, and continuing to walk past. he doesn't question anything until you laugh softly. the sound makes him whip his head back around. "what?" "huh? nothing." tetsuro hums before walking over to your spot on the couch. "you laughed at nothing?" "yeah. why?" he only hesitates for a second before deciding to lie on top of you. "ow, fuck—" "was i supposed to do something else?" "tetsu—" you groan and hit his back, but can't stop the laugh that escapes. "there was no wrong answer. i just wanted to see what you'd do." tetsuro sighs, and suddenly raises himself to hover over you. "well, that's a relief. did you want anything from the kitchen?"

ATSUMU's, for some reason, first guess is "do you want money?" "what?" you snort. "you think i'd just ask you for cash like that?" he makes some kind of unsure noise and gestures with his hands, trying to come up with a defense. "i dunno! i mean, no, but that's why i was confused!" he whines and you shake your head. "i don't want money, 'tsumu." "what'd ya want then?" "nothing in particular. saw someone's boyfriend hold their hand, and i wanted to see what you'd do" you explain. "oh." he blinks. you watch him stare at your hand before reaching to hold it. "i can do that, too. without tricks, either."

HINATA stops chewing, his eyes flickering up and down, confused. "oh, do you want some of my chips?" he asks with his mouth still full. a smile pulls at your lips, but it's the only response you give. shoyo blinks at you and starts chewing again, albeit slowly. you watch him get a handful from the bag and carefully place it in your palm. "there y'go. if you want more, just ask. i have another flavour in my bag, too." he grins, pleased with his preparedness and figuring out what you wanted. when you don't move to eat any—curious about what he'll do—he stops chewing again and stares. the confusion is back, but he tries to guess again. "did…you want me to feed you?"

BOKUTO turns when you call his name. he notices your hand, and he smiles before bending down to place his chin in your palm. "did you need somethin'?" he asks while you squish his cheeks. "nah, just wanted to get your attention." a chill runs over you where kotaro's hands come to wrap around your waist, sneaking their way underneath your shirt. "okay—ah! are my hands cold?" he pouts, retracting them and standing up straight again. you laugh and shake your head. "a little, but it's okay." his hands come back to hold you, over the fabric this time, and he pulls you into a hug. "sorry, baby. but at least you'll always have my attention, y'know."

IWAIZUMI's sitting next to you, calling oikawa when you hold out your hand. he immediately assumes you want to him to hold it, and intertwines his fingers with yours. your face warms when he brings it to his lips and kisses your knuckles. hajime makes sure to trace little shapes against the back of your hand, and you scroll your phone while you wait for the two to catch up. "what?" the shock in your boyfriend's voice gets your attention. "i'm hanging up now, dumbass." you vaguely hear oikawa whine before hajime turns off his phone and sighs. he looks at you, and you try not to laugh. "you okay there?" "hm? yeah." he manages to smile and press a kiss to your temple. "is tooru okay?" "god, don't even ask."

Izzy is an observant man, so sooner or later he will notice the unusual amount of attention you direct towards him.

How he reacts to it, though, will depend on how close you already are.

If you two are not close, he maintains his distance for a bit while he tries to figure out what's going on with you. He doesn't understand at first what your intentions are - he figures if anything that you're just intimidated by him - so he doesn't think much of it. However, after catching you staring a few times while he's working and seeing your flustered face turn away, he guesses that there's something more behind it.

As he starts finding excuses for you to help him with things, another thing he notes is that you seem most fixated on him when he's working with his hands. He catches you, just once, transfixed by the way his hands move when he shows you how to tie a particular knot for the second time.

Izzy curses himself when he finds himself making an effort to get your attention like that more, and he maybe even initiates some casual affection, like putting a hand on your shoulder or your lower back while he's talking to you.

If you two are in a relationship when he begins to notice, the teasing will start fast.

"See something you like, darlin'?"

And once he sees just how flustered it gets you, he'll find any excuse to rile you up.

He absolutely does that thing where he cups your jaw with his fingers and traces his thumb over your lips.

He'll beckon you over on deck with a crook of his fingers, and from the smirk on his face he knows the filthy thoughts that motion sparks.

If Izzy's sat next to you, there's a hand placed firmly on your thigh and, if you don't protest, his fingers will trace upwards until you're squirming in your seat.

(Sidenote: if you ask him very nicely he will absolutely wear the glove in bed.)

Though with his voice, I cant imagine him talking all "hulk" like. Since he's a part of the royal family he would have access to only the best education and speech therapy (if needed-). So the likelihood of any of the Koopalings having speech problems or talking "hulk" like would be low 😅 though that's not to say that out of all his siblings, he leans towards that type of speech the most! :00

As for Kammy and Kamek, she's not nearly as old as him. I was thinking Kamek is hundreds of years old, while Kammy is the Koopa equivalent of like... 60-70? She was brought into the koopa palace to be a nanny/maid. Her power is different from Kamek's, though I haven't figured out all the specifics yet.. I guess it can be said that when it comes to magic, they both studied and mastered different things.

Now if she ever faced Kamek in combat? He would flatten her. There is no Magikoopa alive today that can compare to Kamek's power..

They aaare, but they're little guys who are hard to animate dancinggg (like everyone is, this is def not the third time I've tried animating hermits dancing, nooo...)

And yeah have the (really) rough concept designs. I've just been calling it Hermcules in my head because of a certain design choice you can see below.

The concept was heavily inspired by the music video for Darken by Zutomayo and if you've seen it you might be able to guess a few plot points already...

In this AU the empires setting is a dying world barely held together by the last living god, Joel, who keeps the sculk at bay, and everyone except Hermes is an old soul shoved into new bodies because Joel isn't powerful enough on his own to create new life, only preserve it.

Jimmy got the short end of the stick in that regard, being made into a living doll called a warden by Joel, and is very bitter at said god. His soul is (mostly) kept in the canaries in his chest cavity with a piece hidden somewhere else to make sure he doesn't disappear completely. He also keeps himself nearly fully covered head to toe.

He's not happy when he ends up having to take care of Hermes, the last new soul in the world. The story is basically Jimmy and Hermes learning to get along and going on an adventure to find Joel and discover the reasons they exist.
