you’re both fully in pajamas, tucked and wrapped in each other’s arms when you come across the tiktok trend that has flooded your for you page as of late

hamzah’s naturally aloof (due to a long day spent with you and it currently being almost 1 AM) and unfocused as he fights sleep while watching his tenth episode of teen titans.

so when you quickly unravel yourself from him and move across the room, adjusting your low hanging sweatpants accordingly, he’s dumbfounded and asking you what you’re doing and why you’re leaving him.

“you’re so dramatic, can you come here? i wanna do something”

“insulting me and asking a favor in the same sentence…” he sighs then pauses with a hand closed over his mouth, muffling “wow.”

literally and metaphorically tugging his arm to get him to participate but he’s adamant on knowing what exactly he’s getting up for

when he’s almost out of bed you tell him it’s “this tiktok thing” and he exaggerates a “NOOOO” and releases all of his weight so that he falls back on the bed and you practically fall with him due to your connected hands

of course he’s eventually convinced with a few kisses

hamzah fiddles with your hand while listening to you explain: “okay, pretend im not here and some girl comes up to you at target.”

he just stands in the center of the frame looking around the room as you walk away then return in character

you approach obnoxiously and begin some surface level flirting “hey good looking”

“you can back up a little bit,” he looks you up and down

“pause- did you just check her out???”

“no? you know there was definitely some judgement there.”

“sure ok, resume… now.” you play with your hair, “what’s someone as cute as you doing in a place like this?”

“bruh, we’re at a target” hamzah laughs through his words

you stop your role again, “and why are you taking time to respond to her?!”

“oh kill me for being distracted! you couldn’t have hired an ugly actress?”

you look up at him with squinted eyes, “you need to learn to resist the hot girls too!”

“i’m tryingggg!!!!” he rubs his eye harshly, “restart, restart.”

it cuts to a clip of you two acting once more

“yeah, we both loooveee target we’re, like, so alike,” you go to grab his arm and he turns completely away from you

“ok, and i have a girlfriend” he pretends to grab something off of a shelf

“that doesn’t matter if i don’t see her…”

you continue pestering so he resorts to plugging his ears with his fingers and talking over you, repeating that he has a girlfriend

eventually he turns back to face you and yells “OH MY GOD GIRL, I HAVE A GIRLFRIEND GET THE HELL AWAY FROM ME!!!!” right into your smiley face.

he then fully manhandles you over his shoulder and spins you around before dropping you onto the plushness of your shared bed

he doesn’t even look to check on you (you’re outrageously laughing and yelling “it hurts!” in regards to your poor stomach cramping)

he runs to grab your phone from the desk while recording himself in faux panic, “guys, you can’t tell y/n i just beat up a woman please, please, pl- AHHH”

he and the video are cut off by you jumping on his back and attacking his cheek with kisses through your loud giggles.

you cuddle in bed again after turning off the lights and hamzah rewatches it for a third time since you’ve posted it to your spam account (everytime it’s over he says, “no, that was actually pretty funny.”)

by the morning it has thousands of likes and plenty of comments either full of love for the two of you together or calling hamzah the funniest man in the world (they’re just like u fr!)

• you decide to play a little prank on your bf where you call him your brother after you kiss him

you were on tik tok way too much. and luke was too but definitely not as much as you. he wasn’t on it to the point where he saw the lastest couple pranks when they were still very popular. so of course as his amazing girlfriend you had to pull a little prank on your boyfriend whom you loved so much.

you were sitting on the couch in the house luke shared with some of his hockey buddies. a few of them were sat on other parts of the couch watching tv with heir girlfriends who were going from talking with you and then talking with their respective boyfriends while you sat with a single headphone in on tik tok. luke had sat next to you mere moments before until he had to use the bathroom.

it was perfect timing because that’s when the tik tok pulled up on your “for you page” and gave you the idea to mess with your boyfriend.

the tik tok was of a girlfriend next to her boyfriend. she said some words and then turned to him, he kissed her and she said the words to the camera: “best big brother ever!” and he started laughing.

obviously, you began to think how luke would react to this and knew you had to film this tik tok for yourself.

luke walked out from the bathroom and began to walk over to you till you stood up “babe come here.” you told luke and like a puppy he followed you into the kitchen which was right next to the living room.

you set up your phone and turned to luke who looked at you confused. in the corner of your eye you could also see mark, ethan, seamus and gavin giving y’all some questionable looks. everyone else payed somewhat attention to the both of you with their eyes still trained on the tv.

“okay so when i turn around just kiss me.” you smile up at luke. he was pretty tall compared to you (actually very tall compared to you) so to the camera it was a funny shot.

“okay..” luke gave you a suspicious glance as he watched you step forward to press play. when you backed up in front of luke you began to giggle which made the boys in the living room chuckle and luke laugh at you suspiciously, he knew you had something planned.

“if you wanna get to me, you have to get through him first.” you managed to get out through your giggles.

“preach!” one of the boys yelled from the living room, the culprit being duke tucker. mark let out a laugh at this. the two knew this tik tok and had their eyes glued to the scene.

you turned around to luke and on cue he gave you a kiss. he tried to make it go on for longer but because of the audience before you and the fact that you were in the middle of a tik tok, you broke the kiss and turned back to the camera. “best big brother ever.” you tried to keep a straight face. from behind you both, the boys broke out in laughter and you wish you could rewatch luke’s reaction over and over again like it was the first time.

his jaw dropped as he looked at you and then proceeded to look around awkwardly. “i am not your brother.” his lack of words made the event even funnier to you and all his friends as well. the girls were laughing too and it made the scene all the greater.

luke didn’t know what to do so he grabbed your waist from behind and pulled you into a bear hug “brother?” he laughed “brother?” he repeated, still in disbelief.

“woah big bro you’re getting a little too close there.” luca shouted.

“shut up.” luke laughed as he kissed you “look at what you started.”

“STOP KISSING YOUR SISTER LUKE.”

you sat on the floor with your legs crossed, your back against the sofa, as that was a more comfortable position than sitting on the sofa for some reason.

you were casually scrolling through your phone, giving likes to some pictures and chuckling at cat memes, when niki arrived with two cups of tea. he settled down beside you, gently setting the cups on your coffee table. shortly after, he leaned over your shoulder to peer at your phone screen.

it never really bothered you because niki was always so curious; wanting to see what you were laughing at. both of you shared a chuckle while watching a video that suddenly appeared on your screen.

niki glanced at you while you were too focused on rewatching the video, completely unaware of his gaze. he leaned in to plant a gentle kiss on your temple before quickly taking your phone away.

you glanced at him with surprise but remained silent, your gaze fixed on him with a confused expression, and perhaps a hint of flusterment due to his sudden affection. he smiled at you, noting the subtle pinkness that tinged your cheeks. his warm smile only added to your flustered state.

"oh, getting all shy now, huh?” he teased, and you playfully nudged his shoulder.

"shut up, i’ll destroy you for that," you responded, gripping the controller in your hands. "come on, you scared now?" you teased in return.

niki chuckled at your playful threat and accepted the challenge. the two of you were well-known competitors when it came to video games, and the gaming console sat eagerly waiting for your attention. he grabbed his controller. as the game started, the room filled with the sounds of button mashing and playful banter.

at some point, niki leaned over and whispered in your ear, "you're pretty good at this."

his gentle and soft-spoken words caused your stomach to drop, and your cheeks turned completely red. without even realizing it, your body instinctively shifted away from his as you slowly rose, coming to the painful realization that you had just lost the match.

"niki! this is not fair! you distracted me!"

niki couldn't help but burst into laughter at your protest. "hey, you're the one who got all flustered," he teased, a mischievous glint in his eye. "but don't worry, i'll let you have a rematch. just don’t get distracted, huh?"

you narrowed your eyes at him playfully. "oh, you're on!" with determination in your voice, you picked up the controller again, ready for another round. "no whispering this time, no nothing! i'll actually strangle you if you do anything!"

the rematch was just as intense as the first, and the room once again filled with the sounds of rapid button presses and competitive banter. this time, you were more focused, determined to win against your boyfriend.

after what felt like an eternity of intense gameplay, you managed to pull off a brilliant move, catching niki off guard.

“ha! suck it loser!” you exclaimed, throwing your controller down and doing a little victory dance in your seat.

niki chuckled, as he looked at your little dance "alright, alright, you won because i allowed you to, going easy on you has become a habit for me by now.'" he then leaned in closer, his warm smile returning. "i must admit, your gaming skills are impressive. but you know, i think i prefer it when you get all shy and flustered."

you rolled your eyes but couldn't hide the smile that tugged at your lips. "smooth talker, aren't you?"

niki grinned, his eyes locking onto yours as he leaned in even closer. "only for you," he whispered, his voice a soft, murmur that sent shivers down your spine. soon after he closed the distance, capturing your lips with a soft, tender kiss. it was a sweet and lingering moment that spoke volumes without any words.

as you pulled away from the kiss, you couldn't help but smile at him. "you know, you can distract me like that any time you want," you admitted, your voice soft and filled with affection.

niki grinned, his eyes sparkling with fondness. "i'll keep that in mind," he replied, his fingers gently tracing patterns on your hand.

“here, have your winner’s tea,” niki spoke again, grabbing the cup and passing it to you. you wrapped your fingers around it, enjoying the comfortable warmth. as niki grabbed his cup, he leaned closer to you, your shoulders touching.

the room was quiet, and both of you were enjoying your teas. after a while, you gently placed your cup on the table and rested your head on his shoulder, closing your eyes. niki followed you and now was trying to move as little as possible, as he reached for the blanket. he covered both of you and rested his head on top of yours.

“have i told you i love you today?” he whispered, his words forcing you to open your eyes.

“what?”

he raised his head and you followed, looking into his eyes now. his gaze was soft, almost gentle and full with love followed with small smile on his lips. “i love nights like these,” he paused for a few seconds.

“i love you, y/n.” his smile grew wider. you couldn’t help but smile back.

“i love you as well,” you said, as he pressed a gentle kiss to your forehead. “i wouldn't trade this for anything in the world.”

as the night grew darker, you found yourselves wrapped up in a blanket on the sofa, cuddled close together. the tv played a movie in the background, but you were more interested in the conversations and each other's warmth. and as you both settled into the peaceful embrace of each other's arms, you knew that you were exactly where you were meant to be, in a love that was as warm and comforting as the tea you had shared earlier.

You and Hobie are doing your own thing, with the telly on, you rewatch your favourite series whilst you munch on chips, the sound of crunching gets Hobie's attention from his gadget. He's been tinkering on the dining table, brows knitted together in frustration.

Huffing, he calls it a day, fingers stiff and aching from pinching small mechanical parts. Hobie flicka his eyes on an unusually quiet Blob. The symbiote cat purrs on top of the fridge, twin tails swinging from side to side, sweeping the top door. Hobie guesses that Blob has discovered the warmth on top.

Taking the opportunity to finally cuddle you on the couch without the alien in the middle hissing at him. He makes his way towards you, socked feet padding on carpeted floors.

Without warning, he takes the cheesy bag from you, placing it on the coffee table.

You look up at him, mouth full of cheesy goodness, eyes questioning him. “bhat?”

Hobie lays his head on your lap, prompting you to lay your legs flat on the settee. He sighs into your stomach, nosing your shirt, hand splayed over your lower back, hand squished in between you and the couch. He doesn't seem to mind it though, with how his eyes are closed, furrowed brow smoothing out as you trace his spine with your knuckles.

His legs dangle off the arm rest, too tall for the three seater couch.

“Tough day?” You flick your eyes from the telly to his scrunched face.

He groans into your shirt in a reply, you feel the vibration from his throat, tickling you a bit.

“Can you at least get my crisps back before turning me into your pillow?” You fold yourself, to whisper right in his ear, knowing what it does to him.

With your lower back aching, he twists around to aim his webshooter at the snack, snatching it right from the table to his hand.

Hobie hands it to you before he goes back to his previous position.

“Spiderman has saved the day once again.” You announce it like an anchorman from the twenties.

“Dork.” He murmurs into your shirt, leaning slightly to look up at you. “Crisps me.” opening his mouth comedically, you giggle at the sight.

“You’re the dork, dork.” You feed him chips while you watch your show.

Instead of Hobie watching with you, he watches your expressions shift from smiling to a frown. He bets the show is entertaining but he's more interested in watching you laugh and pout at the telly.

You feed him another crisp, Hobie tilts his head when a black mass flashes on your side. In a quick movement that he couldn't even anticipate, Blob has flopped on top of Hobie's face, suffocating him in all his blobby symbiote self.

Hobie rapidly sits up, you dodge his oncoming face. Blob stays attached to his face. For a second you thought he's trying to bond with Hobie again but Blob hisses when Hobie tries to pry the alien off his face.

“Love, a bit of help?” He struggles, Blob's tentacle-like limbs stretch as Hobie moves him further away, but the little symbiote is stuck on him like glue.

You huff, thinking that Blob needs to be trained better at co-existing with Hobie. Scratching the one spot you know Blob can't resist, you coo at him even though you're currently annoyed at the alien. His milky white eyes close, limbs loosening their hold on Hobie's head.

Blob drops like a sack of potatoes on Hobie's lap, triumphantly making his way to your lap. He purrs, curling around himself happily.

“You little shit. I was there first!” Hobie puts his foot down. You stop him with a look, wordlessly telling him an ‘I've got this’. He lets you, crossing his arms on his chest like a kid who didn't get his candy.

You take Blob by his armpits, looking right at his big white eyes. “If you want to cuddle you gotta share. Do you understand, Blobius Cornelius Blobirington? You can't just suffocate Hobie—” he meows like he's arguing back. “Anyone for that matter, you can't just do that. Got it?”

Blob moves his head towards Hobie, glaring his alien eyes towards the man.

“Hey! Play nice.” You place Blob on your shoulder, he immediately splayes himself over, lounging. But you don't see his scowl thrown at Hobie. “See? Compromise. We don't fight for attention.”

“He's literally tryin' to kill me with his stare.” Hobie points at Blob. You crane your neck to look but you only see him happily sleep on your shoulder. “What a wanker.”

“Don’t rile him up. Come back here, the spot’s all yours.” Patting your lap, he crawls over to you still huffing and puffing at how Blob is spoiled.

You just want to watch your show in peace, hopefully they stay asleep until you finish the episode.

⁺ ⋆˚ message from nic: wanted to put smth out while working on my jay fic!! got inspired by this show i was watching called "the game" (dont watch it its like highkey misogynistic and a bit racist and just overall so bad 😭) i wanted to rewatch it bc i used to watch it as a kid and now i realize how bad it was skdkd. but basically the bf is a pro football player while the gf is in med school and a certain plotline in the show inspired this 😁 also this is my first writing piece so pls be nice and feedback is appreciated!

heeseung slowly opened the front door to the apartment you and him shared, trying to be as quiet as possible since you were most likely sleeping. once he made it in he tip toe'd his way to your guys' bedroom. "did you have fun tonight hee?" you asked, while sitting on the couch with nothing but the lamp on. heeseung jumps, "holy shit you scared me! baby what are you doing up? come on let's get you to bed."

he walks over and tries to give you a kiss. you turned your head down only allowing him to press it to your forehead. you were pissed. actually, you were beyond that. words could not describe what you were even feeling at the moment.

you get up from the couch and stand before him, "you didn't answer my question. did you have fun tonight hee?" heeseung is perplexed by your tone. you sounded... hurt? angry? annoyed? all of the above? he tried to proceed with caution, racking his brain of all the possibilities of why you could be acting like this.

"uh... yeah babe, i had a lot of fun tonight. sorry i stayed out so late by the way. you really didn't have to wait up for me, you're probably tired." he was hopeful this was the right answer. it's gotta be, right? all you could do was stifle a cold laugh.

why the hell were you laughing? what was so funny? heeseung can feel his heartbeat in his ears and his skin was turning hot. you had never once acted this way in all of the years you guys had been together. it may not seem like a big deal to others, but you had always been so caring and sweet towards him.

even when you guys were arguing, your soft voice never changed. this was new. this was scary. you had a smile that didn't quite reach your eyes now and it seemed like you were staring into his soul.

"yeah heeseung. it's 2 am," you say sounding almost condescending, "but no i'm not mad that you stayed out so late. i mean i WAS, but after someone sent me a little something i realized there are worse things to be mad about." suddenly your phone is shoved into heeseung's hands. his jaw dropped. no. there's no way.

"who sent you this?! wait no it doesn't matter baby you can't believe this can you?" he reaches out for you but you pull away and start walking towards the front door to gather your jacket and bag, "so you're not even going to try to deny it? huh. i guess my friends were right." it makes him sick how you seem so calm on the outside, your words and actions treating this like one big joke while he's freaking out. he'd rather you be a crying, screaming mess than whatever behavior you're exhibiting at the moment.

you turn back around to him, "you think i don’t know who you’re giggling with on the phone while i’m sitting in the room studying for hours? that i’m stupid enough to believe that you’re not making out with her in that video? that i’m blind enough to not see the heart eyes you two make at each other while in the same room?” your words drip with venom and they shoot heeseung straight in the heart.

he feels like the room is spinning and he wants to faint. he wants to go up to you and hold you and tell you that she doesn’t matter, that you’re the only important thing in his life. but that’s not what happens. heeseung is too wrapped up in the moment to admit his wrongs.

frankly, he’s disgusted with himself and at a loss for words right now. he wants to convince not only you but more importantly to himself that he didn’t do anything wrong. and so he does. what comes out of his mouth next are words he’d soon regret. “WHAT DID YOU WANT ME TO DO YN?! i’ve been so lonely lately because you’re so wrapped up in school and she’s THERE FOR ME. she’s been there when you weren’t. i wouldn’t have made out with her if YOU were at the afterparty with ME like i asked you to! we won four fucking awards tonight and i just wanted my girlfriend there to celebrate with me.”

and just like that, you snap. the jacket and bag in your hands are now thrown to the ground and heeseung flinches. “YOU ARE SO FUCKING UNBELIEVABLE! do you hear the words that are coming out of your mouth right now?! i told you i have an exam tomorrow there was no way i was going to that damn party.”

tears are blurring your vision and your breath is becoming uneven. you don’t even recognize the man standing in front of you. “i have a life too heeseung. while you’re out chasing your dreams so am i. do you even acknowledge the sacrifices i have made for you over the past five years? tell me, was she there for you when you first became a trainee? was she crying for you every fucking episode of i-land? was she there every step of the way supporting your career?!"

heeseung doesn’t speak. he doesn’t move an inch yet his brain is moving a million miles per minute. he knows you’re right. he knows that you decline going out with your friends so you can wait for him to come home from practice. that your life only revolves around school and him. and he’s so eternally grateful for you. his heart yearns to express all the love he has for you and that he fucked up so badly. he just wants to fast forward to the part where you guys work through it and everything is okay again.

but that time is never going to come because you walk up to him with a heavy heart, placing the promise ring he gave you all those years ago in his hands.

he stares at the pretty diamond that shines in the moonlight, the only thing illuminating the darkness that’s consumed the space you both once filled with love. “i hope she was worth it,” you say as you open the door and walk out into the cold night. leaving heeseung and all of the memories of your relationship behind.

at the market, jeno gets a cute call from his boyfriend y/n. laughter and playful teasing ensues between chenle and the lovebirds. back at the house, jeno, chenle and mark suddenly realize they forgot an ingredient.

౨ৎ Note: my first ever request is finished!! I had to rewatch the show to get some inspirations, cuz I literally almost forgot what happened in it lmao. since it's my first request, i was feeling really nervous while writing this, but i still hope u enjoy it<3

it was nighttime, the dreamies were feeling hungry after doing lots of activities in the afternoon, so they decided to have a homemade dinner together at the house. jaemin volunteered to be in charge of cooking while the others helped prepare ingredients.

jaemin assessed his ingredients with a critical eye, realizing several key items were missing. he turned to the group helpers in the kitchen.

"it seems we're short on some staples to start the main dishes," jaemin announced.

jeno looked up from washing vegetables. "i can run to the supermarket to grab what we need."

chenle perked up at the thought of an outing. "ooh, let me come too!"

mark sighed fondly. "i'll come too so you two don't cause too much chaos."

"we'll make it quick," mark assured.

the trio and headed out with an air of excitement and playfulness. while jeno and y/n looked forward to some couple time, they doubted their ability to remain focused on the task. only time would tell if they returned successfully with groceries, or in a lovesick daze once more.

jeno was browsing the meat aisle with mark and chenle when his phone started ringing. he smiled when he saw it was y/n calling.

"you gonna answer that?" chenle asked with a teasing lilt.

jeno playfully rolled his eyes at chenle before answering. "hey babe, what's up?"

"hi jen! i was just wondering, can you pick up some strawberries covered in chocolate while you're at the supermarket?" y/n's sweet voice came through the phone.

jeno couldn't help but grin like an idiot. "of course, do you want anything else~"

y/n giggled, making jeno's heart melt. "you're the best! only the strawberries is good. i can't wait to see you when you get back."

as jeno and y/n continued chatting fondly, chenle started making loud fake throwing up noises behind them. jeno tried to ignore him, but y/n must have heard through the phone.

"is chenle being disgusted again?" y/n asked, giggling more.

jeno gave chenle a side eye. "when isn't he?"

chenle stuck his tongue out in response, but kept making theatrically exaggerated gagging sounds. jeno flipped him off jokingly, unable to stop smiling as he spoke to his boyfriend.

mark chuckled at their antics, shaking his head affectionately. "don't mind him, just focus on your man."

jeno felt his cheeks warm at mark's words, but he was grateful for his hyung's support. "i'll see you soon, babe. love you!"

once jeno hung up, chenle started wheezing with laughter at his own jokes. even jeno had to laugh, chenle's silliness was honestly amusing, not truly mean-spirited.

"alright guys, let's finish up so we can get back to the others," mark said, looping his arms around chenle and jeno's necks affectionately as they continued shopping.

once the three members arrived back to the house from the supermarket, carrying bags of groceries. jaemin hurried over to check what they had bought. he started unpacking the bags and going through the list.

"hmm it seems we are missing one item," jaemin said angrily with a frown. "the green onions."

jeno and chenle quickly turned to blame mark. "it was mark hyung's job to get the green onions but he must have forgotten!" chenle said.

"yeah hyung you had one job!" jeno laughed teasingly.

mark looked shocked. "what? no i didn't, you guys said you would get the veggies!"

as the three started bickering playfully, jaemin observed them with a bemused smile. finally he clasped his hands together loudly. "alright enough you three. it doesn't really matter who forgot, it’s fine anyway. let's just get the food prepped."

with a sigh, mark went to the fridge to start taking out other ingredients they needed. but when he opened it, a bundle of green onions rolled out onto the floor.

the boys froze, then bursts of laughter erupted as they realized there was a spare bunch all along. "there we go," jaemin chuckled, shaking his head in amusement. it was just like them to band together and try tricking each other.

before long, the others had finished prepping ingredients and jaemin got to work cooking everything on the stovetop. a delicious aroma began permeating the air as pots simmered. y/n set the table while jeno poured drinks for everyone.

soon dinner was ready and they all crowded around, filling their plates high. compliments rained down on jaemin for his cooking skills as they dug in happily. y/n grinned at jeno across the table, sneaking bites of strawberries between mouthfuls of rice and meat.

they chatted casually about everything from upcoming schedules to funny memories, the atmosphere light and cozy. more than once, y/n caught jeno's foot rubbing affectionately against his ankle under the table when their gazes met. each gentle touch sent sparks through his body and never failed to bring a smile to his lips.

as they finished eating, jeno and y/n volunteered to do dishes while the others lounged around relaxing. they worked efficiently side by side at the sink, hips occasionally bumping as they maneuvered in the small space.

after a few minutes, mark loudly cleared his throat. "do you two seriously need to be joined at the hip right now too?" he nodded pointedly at their intertwined fingers resting on the countertop.

y/n glanced down, not even remembering when their hands had found each other. he blushed, starting to unlink them, but jeno held on firmly.

"says the one who begged to sleep with haechan last night." chenle chuckled, not looking up from his phone.

mark opened his mouth to retort but was cut off by renjun. "you guys, play nice. as long as our lovebirds keep things pg, i don't mind some affection around here." his eyes danced playfully.

"yeah, keep it pg, don't forget that our maknae is still here." jaemin joked as he looked to jisung. he just smiled sheepishly.

y/n grinned, relieved for renjun's understanding as always. jeno rubbed his thumb softly over y/n's knuckles, shooting him a loving smile that made his heart skip. their kitchen duties were finished in contented silence, hands locked together the whole way through.

once the last dish was dried and put away, jeno led y/n by the hand to the couch, cuddling him into his side. mark shook his head disapprovingly but y/n could see the smile he was trying to hide.

he sighed happily into jeno's warm embrace, feeling his boyfriend press a kiss to the top of his head. no matter how much teasing they received, nothing could dampen the elation and security y/n felt in jeno's arms — his most cherished place in the world. he was grateful beyond words for each and every day they had together like this.

‘you’re kidding me…’ you thought as your stomach dropped as you held your finger down on your boyfriends instagram story. it was august first; national girlfriends day, and much to your excitement your boyfriend had a coloured circle around his profile picture which had meant he posted.

what you didn’t expect to see him post however was a compilation of photos of his self proclaimed ‘girl best friend’ littering the screen with max demarco’s ‘heart to heart’ attached to the story playing over the background. ‘happy national gf day to my favourite girl’ you read as your eyes grew heavy.

tapping off the story and tossing your phone aside, you stared up at the ceiling, tears twinkling under the soft room light and your heart feeling heavier than ever. you didn’t even have it in you to contact your boyfriend to question his social media antics, not right now anyway, not whilst the wound was still so fresh. you’d get back to that later on.

the natural light from outside slowly grew darker as the hours droned on by as your position never changed. fresh tears washed over dried ones until your head was pounding from the non stop crying yet you refused to do anything to ease the pain. your eyes slowly drooped down before closing entirely, exhaustion hitting you hard and stopping you from moving for the next ten minutes before your phone vibrated from the other side of the bed.

you left it there not wanting to look at the device figuring it was your friends checking up on you after seeing your boyfriends story. yet there was no continue spam of messages coming through unlike whenever your friends would text you. one notification came through before you were left in the heavy silence of your room once more.

giving in, you grabbed the phone and tapped the surface to check it. your eyes squinted as they adjusted to the light before widening upon the words across your screen.

your heart pounded as you tapped on the story unsure of what to expect before your breath hitched as music reached your ears and candid photos of you from across the classroom and shots you frowning slightly you knew the boy had taken to tease you covered your screen. ‘national gf day <3’ was typed across the photos as well as giveon’s ‘like i want you’ played in the background of the post.

your jaw stayed ajar as you took in the post and fact someone that wasn’t your boyfriend had posted and appreciated you. sliding up the story you decided it was only right to thank the boy for the kind gesture despite your rivalry and half playful attitude you’d offer to each other each class.

‘thank you :,)’ you sent in reply as you rewatched the story still in awe.

not even two minutes passed by before your phone vibrated again as the boy replied.

‘no need to thank me. it’s only natural i post my girl on national gf day ;)’

you laughed airily as your heart fluttered against your chest. before you could type a reply, kuroo responded once more.

‘but please hurry and break up with him and let me be your bf to make this post legit, i’m not tryna come across as a home wrecker over here’

there was nothing to homewreck. your soon to be ex boyfriend had made it clear where his priorities laid and they weren’t with you.

august first would be the day your priories would begin to lay with someone who clearly put you first. and that someone would be kuroo tetsurō, your academic rival, bane of existence and future long term boyfriend.

Just saw Luis Mesa's tweet saying that in fact, Daniel fell/would feel in love with Betty BEFORE her transformation and I'm spiraling because it makes sense the Betty/Daniel parallels in the first chapters, he going mad with Patricia because she blocked Betty's computer, he literally says that he's after Armando's head, not Betty's; also asking her why she looks so scared when she sees him with a reflective look. Also when he heard about Betty's boyfriend, he goes full mad to humiliate session on her look BUT he actually saw her look literally minutes ago and didn't said nothing.

I think it would be kinda interesting but in telenovelas, the guión is decided by the audience so it was only Betty/Armando without a triangle (Nicolas doesn't count ajsksks) until Michel.

What do you think YSBLF would go if they went with Daniel/Betty/Armando?

I thought for a very long while when watching for the firdt time that Daniel was eventually going to go after Betty! I thiught he would fall for her or at least want "something" with her... not actual love, perhaps, but you know, SOMETHING... but no!

I hadn't noticed some of the details you're mentioning! I did see the parallels at the beginning, and how Betty pretty much falls perfectly in lone with what Daniel looks for in a woman. I also noticed that he seemed to genuinely find humour in his talks to Betty but didn't like her winning the arguments. I also noticed he was surprised with how scared she was of him! But that thing about his reaction to hearing Betty has a bf?? Uf, I hadn't noticed or made the connection!!! I will definitely pay more attention to Daniel this rewatch!

Uff what a hard question!! It'd be very difficult to know how it'd go, and things can change so much depending on when Daniel were to be interested in Betty. I think that if the initial idea was to make Daniel actually eventually fall in love, it was a short lived idea, because Daniel never even shows a bjt of kindness like Armando does. I mean, Daniel is a pretty twisted man and a bit sadistic. I imagine that if they had actually wanted to make Daniel a love rival, Daniel's personality and wickedness would have been softened.

I've been writing a fanfic about this (not a D/B, but he still pursues her), and in my vision, I think he'd need to see her physical potential for beauty. Pretty much like Armando, Daniel also feels attraction for Betty but is repelled by her looks. Armando was forced to bream this barriers during the Sinister Plan, but I think Daniel would only break them if he saw Betty improving her appearence. He seemed to me a more superficial man compared to Armando, and I don't think Daniel would ever even consider going public.

I definitely think that Armando would be losing his head over the idea of TWO men going after Betty tho (Nicolás and Daniel) lmaooo also Mario would have a hell of a time laughing about it. Marcela would be FURIOUS about it. Patricia would feel humiliated thinking that Daniel could have had her and instead chose BETTY. And Betty herself would be HORRIFIED, because she hates his guts lmaooo straight up the only way she would ever tolarate him was with blackmails (cough cough like about the Panamá illegal businesses or something cough cough)

It's still a very interesting take! I definitely see where it comes from but I also think this idea was too quickly forgotten. I wouldn't even know where the AU could start for Daniel to be a proper love rival!
