TREEHOUSE — JESS MARIANO
Tumblr media
masterlist
pairing: jess mariano x reader
description: you’d be lying if you said you didn’t enjoy jess’ flirty teasing. he’d be lying if he said that you didn’t make him uncharacteristically mushy.
warnings: swearing n fluff!!!, that’s all folks
author’s note: ok so i caved and started rewatching GG already — i had this idea and had to run with it! let me know what u think x
“Wow Y/N, we have got to stop bumping into each other like this!”
You looked up, rolling your eyes at the smirking boy before you as you placed down your book, “Oh yes,” you quipped sarcastically, “Such a shock to see you at your uncle’s diner that you live above and work at. Bonus points for you literally choosing to come over to my table, by the way. Usually you save our tantalising small talk for when I come to the counter for a drink.”
This only emboldened his smirk, and he glanced back to see Luke quirking his brow at his usual game — he always distracted himself from helping out by busying himself with talking to you.
In seconds he’d sat himself down in the empty chair opposite you, leaning on your closed book and staring so intently into your eyes you felt your heartbeat quicken immensely.
“What do you want, Mariano?”
“Ouch, last name?” he pouted, “And here I thought we were friends.”
Your heart was racing at how close to you he seemed to be, but his assertion of your supposed ‘friendship’ dulled this a little.
It infuriated you that he spent so much time flirting, and then every other moment acting like his having any romantic interest in you was a ridiculous suggestion.
“Friends, hm?”
In all the time he’d been loitering around, lending you books, stealing your books, making you coffee and all-round just finding any reason to be near you, Jess had never been certain his attraction to you was reciprocated either.
You’d started out shy, unsure of why the hell he seemed so struck with talking to you when he appeared so disdainful of everyone else in Stars Hollow.
And then you’d warmed to him, you’d opened up, you’d spent evenings as the only two people in Luke’s — just talking for hours on end — only to the next day seem distant again.
He’d tried to reassure himself that you did like him too, and that you were just shy, but something always stopped him from passing the boundaries of friendship beyond flirtatious remarks.
“Am I being relegated to an acquaintance?” he placed a hand over his heart and screwed up his face like he was going to cry, before relaxing it and smirking once more, “Or is your inquisitive tone your way of hinting at your undying love for me?”
“Shut up,” you shoved his arm gently, watching him feign a gasp, “You’re a pain in the ass, you know that right?”
Jess scooted his chair even closer to the table, “I totally thought that was your favourite quality of mine. My mistake!”
You didn’t reply for a moment, challenging him with eye contact and feeling your chest tighten at the way he seemed to match the intensity.
“What’re you doing tonight?”
This was new — he normally just hinted at caring what you were up to, nudged for you to give away whether you were seeing anyone, and danced around flirting just enough that he could deny it if you called him out on it.
You gestured to the book he’d made himself comfortable on, “A riveting night of draining your establishment of coffee ‘til you close, finishing this book and then probably either starting another or binging some shitty tv.”
It was only now that he looked at the book he was leaning on, clocking that it was Ham on Rye and he was the one who’d lent it to you when you’d expressed a desire to read more Bukowski.
“How’re you finding it?”
“Oh, and apparently starting the Jess and Y/N book club,” you teased, “Yeah, I’m enjoying. Thank you again for letting me borrow it.”
He smiled, “Anytime. Want me to leave you alone ‘til you’re done with it?”
You pondered his question for a moment. You didn’t want him to go anywhere, but weren’t quite sure if you should suppress your eagerness for his company.
“No, no,” you bit your lip, “Its alright. Does—,” you almost asked if Luke needed him, in the hopes that he’d say no and you could ask him if he wanted to get out of there. Almost.
“Does… what?”
“Nothing, never mind,” you shook your head, blushing crimson at how closely he watched your every move, “Its quiet in here tonight.”
He shrugged, “I was hoping you’d ask if I wanted to get out of here, because Luke definitely doesn’t need me when it’s this dead.”
You smirked, “Is this you asking me to get out of here?”
“Maybe.”
“Cool.”
“Cool?”
“Yes, Jess, cool. Let’s go somewhere else,” you grinned, pulling your book from beneath his elbow slowly and watching him roll his eyes at your teasing smile as you did so, “I was going to ask that. Didn’t want to seem too eager and boost your ego.”
He feigned insult again, “Ego? What ego?!”
He rose to his feet as you packed your book into your bag, gesturing that he was going to go and tell Luke he was leaving and quickly sauntering over to the counter, where you just about overheard Luke mumble, “Finally asked then?”
That made your stomach swarm with butterflies — this was really happening.
All this time, and things were finally progressing.
Jess briefly disappeared behind the counter, before re-emerging with his jacket and opening the door to the diner for you to lead the way out.
“Where’d ya wanna go?” you asked, your voice quiet as you suddenly felt anxious about being so close to him.
Your feelings for Jess had been growing steadily for so long now, bubbling under the surface, and now you finally had an inkling he actually liked you too you didn’t know what to do with yourself.
He shrugged again, looking down at his feet with his hands stuffed in his pockets as he ambled through Stars Hollow at your side.
“We can just walk,” you hummed, “Or we can go to mine. I’ve, uh, got a treehouse out back that my dad built when I was a kid. Or not if that’s a really fucking lame suggestion.”
He kicked a stone at his feet, “No, that sounds good. Totally lame. But good.”
That pleased you enough to elicit a small hum from your lips, and you found yourself walking a little closer to him as you led the way to your house, “Good. Follow me then.”
When you arrived at your house it was empty as ever — the reason you spent so much time at Luke’s was the rarity of company at your own home given your parents’ busy work lives.
You grabbed a few drinks from the fridge, some snacks from the cupboard, and then led the way out back to the treehouse, which was lit with fairy lights and adorned inside with band posters and shelves of books.
“I’ll give it to you, Y/N, it’s less lame than expected,” Jess nudged your side as you crawled in and slumped down on the mattress in the corner of the room, scoffing at him, “I feel honoured to have the Jess Mariano’s approval.”
“Should I feel privileged to be up here?” he licked his lips, eyes glancing over at the torn “NO BOYS ALLOWED” sign discarded at the edge of the tree house too, “Or does the sad state of the sign suggest I’m one of many exceptions?”
You rolled your eyes, “If you’re jealous that other boys may have been up here, you can just say that, Jess. But you should feel privileged because you’re the first. In fact, I can’t believe I didn’t even think twice about bringing you up here.”
He seemed to like that, his eyes glimmering as they darted between your lips and your eyes repeatedly while he found the words to respond.
“I’d say that means you like me, Y/N,” his voice was barely above a whisper as he spoke, and your close proximity left you shuddering as his breath fanned over your face, “Can’t say I blame you.”
His shit-eating grin made you roll your eyes for the millionth time tonight, “Here I was about to say maybe you were right. Thanks for snapping me out of it, shithead. I don’t like you nearly as much as you like yourself, huh.”
He just stared at you for a moment, eyes still twinkling and his breathing jagged.
“Funny, except I don’t think that’s true,” his head dipped to kiss you now, capturing your lips at first tentatively and then with increasing pressure as you kissed back.
He pulled back for a second, half smirking and half dazed, “Yep, I’d say you definitely like me.”
“Says the one who initiated the kiss,” you challenged, “And has been flirting with me incessantly since, like, the moment we met.”
He raised his eyebrow, “Oh is that so?”
“Are you denying it?”
“Oh no, I’ve definitely been flirting,” he licked his lips once more, desperate to kiss you again but trying to refrain for now, “It’s just funny that you’re only calling me out on it now.”
You gently shoved him and poked out your tongue, “I can kick you out of my treehouse whenever I want, you know.”
He only leaned closer again, “But you’re not gonna, are you?”
Jesus Christ you’d not been prepared for the palpitations in your chest right now. Your heart thrummed against your rib cage, drunk on the feelings that had only gotten stronger tonight.
“It’s your lucky day.”
You kissed him again, and the arm he wasn’t propped up on scooped around your waist to pull you closer and deepen the kiss, “Yeah, I guess it is.”
You stayed like this for god knows how long, joking around in between kisses and getting more and more comfortable in each other’s company, until he sat up abruptly and furrowed his brows.
“What’s wrong? Filled your kiss quota for the night and ready to leave or something?” you smiled, tongue in cheek, and he chuckled.
“Oh no, never. Just figured as much as I’d like to just kiss you, we should probably talk,” it was unlike Jess to look as nervous as he did right now.
In the time that had passed this evening, you’d grown comfortable enough to help him out a little here.
“I really like you, Jess.”
He wasn’t expecting that — you could tell from his wide eyes and open mouth, which he swiftly shut when he realised he was slack-jawed and silent.
He reached out to take your hand in his, fingers twiddling with yours, “You do? That’s, uh, good. ‘Cause I really like you too, Y/N.”
You couldn’t help the little joyous giggle that escaped your lips, and he couldn’t help the warmth that spread through him at the sound of it, “D’you want to stay over tonight? We can sleep in here?”
He kissed your nose, relaxing back into his reclined position again, “If you’re sure… I’d like that.”
“‘Mm, c’mon then,“ you cuddled in a little closer to him, suddenly overcome with tiredness from the evenings events, “…’m sleepy.”
He smiled, a broader smile than he was sure he’d ever smiled before, happy you were finally this close to him. He dipped his head to kiss your forehead, interlocking your hands as you got comfortable on his chest.
“G’night beautiful,” he whispered, and you could hear his heart thrumming in his chest. You couldn’t believe you’d found this side of Jess Mariano. And you weren’t going to get over that joy any time soon.
“Night Jess,” you hummed, already half asleep, “You better be here when I wake up.”
“Oh I will, Y/N, I’m not going anywhere.”

“HOLDING HANDS UNDER THE TABLE” prompt with jess mariano please and thank u 🫶
SPOIL
this is the first thing i've ever written for jess, so i you enjoy besties <3 also, i am a lorelei and rory stan, so if you aren't or want to say anything mean, say it to a wall.
"holding hands under the table." (from this prompt list)
when you and jess got together, you wanted to keep it on the dl. well, he wanted to keep it on the dl. although you weren’t best friends with rory gilmore, you were kind of friends and he didn’t want to create any animosity between you, so you decided to not tell anyone about it.
before school, you would meet in the back parking lot where no one ever was. jess brought a surprise pastry to share and a cup of hot chocolate while you brought a new book.
"on the menu today, vanilla scones with lemon icing."
"ooh, luke's getting fancy." you teased.
"i'm pretty sure he bought them."
"then disregard what i said."
"and what book did you bring today?"
"kirk told me i had amazing taste when i bought the book."
"kirk told you that? why would kirk be working at the bookstore?"
"who knows? i've learned to stop questioning kirk." you handed it over to him.
"really?" you shrugged, "i am not reading this."
"oh, you're boring. come on, it's a good book." you insisted. he opened his mouth to argue when the bell rang, "are you actually going to come to class today?"
"i don't know, i kind of like hearing you recite everything back to me." you playfully shoved his head and grabbed your stuff, "i'm kidding. we'll see. i have some stuff to do before."
"what could you possibly be doing right now?"
"stuff." he responded, "i'll see you later. promise i'll be there."
"you better." he leaned down and kissed your forehead before he was on his way, "i'm holding you to it, mariano." he gave you a thumbs up.
true to his word, jess walked into class as if he hadn't missed the majority if the day, "you know, when you said you had some stuff to do, i didn't think it would take all day."
"you'll be happy to know i got you something." he produced a flower he had definitely picked from the garden on the way to school.
"awh, that's sweet." you cooed, "how much do we owe taylor for it?"
"he won't even know it's missing." jess rolled his eyes, leaning back in his chair then grabbing your hand and holding it in his lap under the table, "i got you something else too, but that'll have to wait till later."
"ooh."
"not like that." he rolled his eyes, "a cd."
"cd? jess mariano, you are spoiling me." you smiled.
"anything to see you smile." he gave you a sarcastic smile.
taylor's 2.5k celly!

Idk if I'm doing this right but can you write something with Jess Mariano just being really cute and soft? Submissive isn't the right word but just how you'd think he'd be when he's really comfortable with someone and they're playing with his hair or something.
My Soft Boy
Summary: In which Jess only likes Y/n playing with his hair.
A/N: Okay so I did this as a headcanon instead! I hope you don't mind!
Masterlist//Main Masterlist//Agape Masterlist
Tumblr media
It should be known that Jess hates anyone touching his hair
Like no one but him can touch that hair of his
He styles it to perfection
But somewhere down the line, you came along
And it made him rethink it all
Apparently you had been working at Luke's Diner for a long time, and Jess has been surprised he hasn't seen you around in the few weeks he has been there
But then he finds out that you were on holiday
First time he had thoughts about you playing with his hair was before the two of you got together
It was a boring day at the diner
A Tuesday
Hardly any customers
And the two of you (now quite good friends) were playing cards, sat on either side of the counter
And there was a moment where Jess just focuses on your hands
Watching as your fingers fiddle with your own hair
And it brought a weird sensation to Jess and gave him that sudden craving of wanting your hand in his hair
He knew that you knew about his hatred for people touching his hair when you saw one of his dates/hook-ups try touching his hair and him telling her to "get off."
She stormed out the diner and he stormed off upstairs
Stating that he needed to wash his hair now
He came back down with wet hair in his face to continue his shift
And very cautiously you moved to stand in front of him to move a few strands of hair out from his eyes
He didn't tell you to 'get off' like you thought he would
Instead a soft smile appeared on his face and eyes fluttered as the smallest of touches
A few weeks after that, Jess found you reading a book under a tree
He came over to you - completely tired from school (he actually attended because of knowing you would be there)
And without any words he just sat down next to you
And laid his head down on your lap
Guided one of your hands away from your book to his hair
Closed his eyes
And smiled softly when he felt your hand very softly playing with his hair
He never fell asleep so quickly - and he never felt so calm before either with your hand in his hair
He was just falling in love with his best friend - and he knew after today he would have to tell you his feelings
(Especially if he wanted you to continue playing with his hair)

banana pancakes - seungcheol (m)
summary: when the city girl comes back home for the summer, the cocky diner owner tasks himself with making her feel welcome.
word count: 12k
warnings: not quite enemies to lovers, more like annoyance to lovers; smut, afab reader, gendered nicknames (mostly just city girl), oral (m receiving)
masterlist
seungcheol was in the middle of a lunch rush when you walked in. you looked frazzled and out of place, but he couldn’t keep his eyes off you. he almost dropped someone’s blt because he couldn’t stop staring. you however couldn’t figure out who in this dingy place could possibly be the owner, so you awkwardly stand to the side at the counter while you squint at the specials board.
“what’ll you have?” cheol asks as he rounds the bar, ending up at the cash register in front of you. “speak quickly.”
“excuse me?” you ask, taken aback.
“it’s busy, you’re holding up the line, order now or i’ll pick for you,” he tries again and you blink at him in shock. people in the city were rude, sure, but not like this.
“fine, order for me then,” you say as you hand him your card. “and add a black coffee. all of this is to go.”
“i scared you off so soon?” cheol smirks as he rings you up. “total’s two dollars and fifty cents.”
“uh, that’s all?”
“meal’s on me,” he shrugs. “won’t charge you for it if it ends up being something you don’t like.”
“oh, well, thanks,” you say as you sign the receipt. “when will it be ready?”
“when it’s ready,” cheol replies like it’s obvious.
“wonderful service here,” you say as you roll your eyes. you take a seat at the newly open stool at the counter and cheol tsks.
“seats are for customers who eat here,” cheol says while he gets to work with your coffee.
“make the food faster and i’ll leave sooner,” you counter back. cheol nods, smiling to himself as he goes to the back. when he reemerges he’s got one container in his hand that he drops off to you before skillfully helping everyone else at the counter. you watch in quiet appreciation, noticing how his buff chest makes his plaid shirt fight for its life to not pop open. you see bits of curly hair peeking out from under the backwards cap on his head, and-
“that’s the last of it,” cheol says as he drops another container off in front of you. he comes back a moment later with a bag and starts packing it up for you as he explains, “had some left over banana pancakes from breakfast, hope you’re fine with that even though it’s past noon.”
“no, that’s great,” you sputter out, “that’s my favorite kind actually.”
“noted,” cheol says as he holds your gaze for a moment. “then i made you some turkey sausage to go with it. hope it’s worth the two bucks.”
“i’m sure it will be,” you say as you grab the bag. “thanks-”
“cheol,” he smiles. “and you are?”
“y/n,” you reply. “you new here?”
“nope, but you are.”
“no i’m not,” you shake your head. “i grew up here. i’m just home for the summer.”
“from school?” cheol questions, wiping down the counter.
“my big city job, actually,” you reply. “i just quit so i need to live at home for a bit while i find a new one.”
“well it’s nice to meet you, city girl,” cheol smiles. “enjoy the food.”
“bit of advice?” you ask as you stand up, sipping your coffee. “fix the attitude. good coffee though.”
-
“and then he ended up paying for my food,” you finish explaining to your best friend, vernon. as soon as you left the diner you headed to vernon’s house (where he still lives with his parents - don’t mention it, it’s a touchy subject).
“yeah, seungcheol’s a weird guy,” vernon replies as he takes another one of your pancakes and folds it up like a taco. “at least you got free food though, that means he likes you.”
“doubtful,” you roll your eyes. “he seems like a dick.”
“oh then he’s just your type,” vernon teases, and you kick at his lap. he’s the definition of bachelor living at home, he has the whole basement of his parent’s house to himself and there’s really just a bed, a couch, and a full set of instruments set up in the corner for his band that practices here. you’re currently sat on the couch, a movie long forgotten on vernon’s projector. you couldn’t stop talking about cheol, or thinking about him, since you left the diner. he really irked you today. “whatever. pretend you don’t think he’s sexy, but i think someone’s got a little crush.”
“screw you,” you laugh as you snatch the take out container from his lap. “you don’t get to eat my food anymore.”
“seungcheol does deliveries, you know,” vernon says coyly. “i could call him and he’ll be here in minutes...”
“eat all you want, just save me a pancake.”
-
after your debrief with vernon, you finally headed back home. you needed the time with your best friend to catch up and get some much needed insight on your current situation. you were staying at home for a while, yes, but you couldn’t decide how long that would last. you had quit your job in the city because you were burned out, and you didn’t know what was coming next. but the little bit you’ve spent at home has reminded you of how easy life here can be. you can’t decide if you need to refresh your city life, or just stay at home and slow it down for a while. vernon wasn’t much help, he just reminded you of all the things you’d miss about both places, and then not so subtly mentioned that cheol only exists in your small town.
cheol. he’s a mystery to you, but thinking about him makes your blood boil. unfortunately, vernon told you, his diner is the only edible place in town right now. you don’t feel like cooking for yourself tonight, and your parents are currently out of town on vacation, so if you want a meal then you’ll have to face the bully in a baseball cap again.
once you’ve unpacked at home, you collapse onto the couch in your living room, ready to relax and maybe order a pizza to keep you from seeing cheol again so soon. you spend a few minutes channel surfing only to be interrupted by your stomach growling, and you realize your fate is set. you’ll have to go back to the diner.
when you walk through the door, you’re met with the ding of the bell and silence. there’s only one other person there, sitting at the far end of the counter with his food. at the sound of the bell cheol emerges from the back, wiping his hands and smiling.
“back so soon, city girl?” he asks. “sit anywhere, i’ll bring you a menu.” wordlessly you find the stool you sat at earlier today and sit, smiling awkwardly at the only other customer here. he nods back, a patch of ketchup on the side of his lips. when cheol comes back he passes you a menu and asks the man, “all good hoshi?”
“you got anymore ketchup?”
“check your face.”
“charming, isn’t he?” hoshi, apparently, asks you. you chuckle politely and look at the menu, but hoshi’s interest is piqued. “sorry, what’s your name?”
“city girl!” cheol shouts from the back, and you shoot him a glare he doesn’t see.
“i’m y/n,” you reply. “nice to meet you. aren’t you friends with seungkwan?”
“i am! how do you know him?”
“we went to school together,” you explain, and hoshi nods.
“you’re vernon’s big city friend,” hoshi connects the dots. “what brings you back home?”
“need to save money while i look for a new job,” you tell him, and cheol joins you at the counter just then.
“saving money and yet you’ve eaten here twice today?”
“well you gave me my food for free earlier, so i thought i could get another deal,” you joke.
“she got free food?!” hoshi shrieks. “i come here every day! i keep your lights on! i deserve a free meal every once in a while!”
“yeah, but you’re not a pretty girl, hosh,” cheol replies.
“oh, i see what’s going on here,” hoshi smiles knowingly. you sputter trying to defend yourself, but cheol won’t let you.
“do you know what you want?” he asks you, “or you want me to pick again?”
“how’s the fried chicken?” you ask hoshi instead.
“oh, to die for,” he tries to convince you. “but if cheol really likes you then you should ask for something off menu-”
“gross,” you interject.
“-like pasta, he makes a killer carbonara-”
“hoshi,” cheol warns, and you hide your smirk seeing the blush on cheol’s cheeks. when he turns back to you it deepens because he sees how you’re staring at him. he clears his throat and asks, “so? chicken or not?”
“i’ll do the chicken and potatoes please,” you say with a nod. “and another coffee too.”
“it’s almost 8pm,” cheol stops. “you’re gonna drink coffee at 8pm?”
“you’ve still got some in the pot,” you nod toward the machine. “just give me what’s left and you won’t have to throw it out. i’m the only crazy person who drinks coffee this late apparently.”
“you’re never gonna sleep,” cheol continues to scold you.
“i will, promise,” you insist. “now give me the coffee, please. i’m a little tired of you telling me what i can and can’t have here.”
“this is riveting,” hoshi says with his chin on his hand, leaning over the counter as he watches your interaction. with cheol safely in the back, he scoots a couple seats closer and asks, “so do you think he’s hot?”
“excuse me?”
“it’s alright, you can tell me,” he says. “your secret is safe with hoshi.”
“i’m sorry, i don’t-”
“stop bothering my customer, man,” cheol says as he returns with a clean coffee mug. he pours what’s left from the pot and passes it to you, your hands brushing as he passes it over. “you tired or something? why’re you drinking coffee so late?”
“it’s 8pm, this isn’t late,” you say before taking a sip. “and it’s good coffee. sorry i wanted to give you money.”
“can i get the check?” hoshi asks, interrupting the way seungcheol was trying to commit the shape of your lips to memory. “i’ll leave you two alone.”
“no, you’re fine,” you say quickly, but cheol is faster and has the check and change ready for hoshi. he politely waves goodbye to you both, and after the ding of the bell the diner falls silent. cheol leans back against the counter with the coffee, watching you. “shouldn’t you be in the kitchen?”
“nope, i was waiting to see if anything interesting was gonna happen out here,” he replies as he crosses his insanely buff arms over his chest.
“sorry buddy, but i’m all good,” you say as you take another sip of coffee. “just incredibly hungry.”
“then let me help you with that,” he says with a smirk before disappearing. you notice that your cheeks are hot, probably from how enraging seungcheol is. no other reason.
-
one thing you’re determined to do while you’re home is clean out your childhood room. your mom has been complaining about how much junk you and your siblings have left here over the years, and you’re tired of the passive aggressive comments whenever you come visit. consider it an early birthday present mom, the old toys and decaying art projects will be gone before you know it!
it takes a few days for you to sort through all the junk, throwing out what’s unusable and making countless trips around town to donate the rest. you’re finally left with the bones of your room: a few childhood mementos you can’t bear to part with, the twin bed you’ll be sleeping on for the next few weeks, and a broken desk you can’t seem to move on your own. you’ve been frustrated by the thing more times than you can count, so you cave and call vernon for help.
“come move my desk for me,” you say as soon as he picks up.
“hello?” he replies, confused.
“hey,” you continue. “you know the desk in my room that’s been broken since high school? help me move it, please.”
“why?”
“because it’s annoying.”
“just like you?”
“please vernon?” you whine. “it’s too heavy for me on my own and my car isn’t big enough to drive it somewhere.”
“fine. you owe me pizza though,” he says as you hear keys jingling in the background. “be there soon.”
eventually there’s a knock at your front door, and you slump up from the couch grumbling about how late vernon is. you open the door, ready to complain about his punctuality, only to be met with cheol’s smiling face.
“hey city girl, heard you need a truck?” he asks as he leans forward, peeking into your house. “where’s the desk?”
“um, my room?” you reply, and you watch in shock as cheol walks in and makes himself at home. “where are you going?”
“to your room?” he turns around, hands in his pockets but smirk still perpetually on his lips. “vernon said you’d have it ready to go but i guess he didn’t realize how spoiled you must be.”
“spoiled?” you scoff, pushing past him to your room. “because i can’t move a desk by myself?”
“it’s alright, everyone has flaws,” cheol nods as he follows you like an eager puppy. he stops at the doorway to your room, taking it in. he tries to hide a smile when he sees the baby blankets and dolls strewn across your bed. “you gonna introduce me to your friends?”
“shut up,” you snap. “come help me with this.”
“can’t even give me a please?” he sighs, coming into your room anyway. he joins you at the desk, facing you at the other end. he gets a good grip and then says, “lift on three. one, two, three,” he huffs. it’s astounding how easy it is to move with cheol’s help, and he backs out of your room carefully to make sure you don’t trip.
“so where’s vernon?” you ask, carefully walking the desk out of your house. you get to the front steps and cheol stops.
“you think you can get it down the stairs?” he asks. “don’t trip.”
“i’ll be fine,” you insist. “answer my question.”
“vernon doesn’t have a truck.”
“i didn’t say i needed a truck,” you grumble. “this could’ve fit in his van.”
“that broken down thing?” cheol chuckles. “i’m pretty sure the extra weight would make the car stop altogether. vernon felt the same, that’s why he asked me so nicely to come help a damsel in distress.”
“you’re obnoxious, did you know that?” you ask him as he guides you to lift the desk up into the back of his truck.
“and you’re stronger than you look,” he comments slyly, watching as you straighten your clothes. “so where’s this going?”
“the dump?” you reply. “thanks for hauling it, i guess.”
“hey, whoa,” he whistles as you start turning back to your house, “where are you going?”
“inside?”
“you’re not coming with me?” he asks with a pout.
“you’re a big boy, you can manage on your own,” you reply with a similar pout.
“no, seriously,” he says, “you gotta come with me to tell me where this goes.”
“i don’t care, just drop it off somewhere,” you reply.
“hm, and you said you weren’t spoiled,” cheol tsks as he climbs into his truck. “whatever. see you later city girl.”
“wait!” you shout over the sound of cheol’s truck starting. he rolls the window down to hear you better, an eyebrow quirked as he waits for you to go on. “um, let me grab my keys. i’ll be right back.”
“sure thing,” he smirks. “i’ll keep the seat warm for ya.”
-
“are you sure this is the right way?” cheol complains. you’ve circled this block three separate times, so sure that the donation center is somewhere on this street.
“if you would just slow down,” you whine. “i was here the other day, i know it’s close by.”
“oh, so you can do things on your own?” cheol teases, and you cross your arms. “sorry, that was rude.” silence. “are you giving me the silent treatment now?” nothing. “god. you’re irritating, you know that?”
“hm right back at ya,” you reply. “turn left up here.”
“why?”
“because i said so.”
“fine,” cheol grumbles. as soon as you’re around the corner you see the donation center and you point toward the drop off, already unbuckling your seatbelt so you can be out of the car ready to unload before cheol even puts it in park. “hey, be careful,” he scolds, following behind you and lowering the tailgate. “you’re annoying but i don’t want you to get hurt on my watch.”
“i’ll be fine,” you bark, and cheol holds his hands up in defense.
“did i say something?” he asks as you work together to bring the desk back down. “you’re touchy.”
“you’re getting on my nerves,” you explain, “so let’s move this desk and get this lovely afternoon over with, hm?”
“so nice to someone doing you a favor, sweet thing,” cheol replies, and your grip on the desk almost slips at the new nickname.
“what was wrong with city girl?”
“i like to spice things up,” cheol smirks, knowing he’s getting to you. once you drop the desk off he rushes back to the truck to open your door for you, offering his hand so you can easily climb back into the cab. you ignore him and pull yourself up, and cheol gives your ass an appreciative glance. you let him close the door for you, and you stew silently as he closes the tailgate and gets back into the driver’s side. “you all buckled?”
“yep.”
“you gonna be a brat the whole ride back?”
“depends, you gonna call me spoiled and irritating some more?”
“depends,” cheol smiles, and you let your head fall back onto the headrest with a groan. you drive on for a while in silence, and you try to sneak a glance at cheol without him noticing. he’s wearing a new flannel, the sleeves folded up to his elbows to show off his strong arms. his hair is still hidden by that cap, and you’re tempted to ask him to take it off so you can see the curls you know are hiding underneath. “whatcha lookin at?”
“you,” you don’t try to hide it. “just trying to figure out how someone the town seems to love so much can be such a jerk.”
“when you make the best food for miles people tend to overlook the attitude problems.”
“so you admit it?”
“admit what?”
“that you have an attitude?” you ask, leaning forward to look at him better.
“yes, i do,” he says with a sidelong glance at you. “and the sooner you admit to yours the sooner i think we’ll get along.”
“in your dreams.”
“so you want me to dream about you?”
“oh my god,” you groan, letting your head fall against the dashboard. “drop me off here, i’ll walk home.”
“no can do, city girl, there’s lots of scary things round these parts.”
“you’re one of them,” you say with an accusing finger pointed cheol’s way.
“but i’m a sweetheart,” he says innocently. “and we’re almost back at your house, take a chill pill.”
“alright dad,” you grumble. there’s another beat of silence before you quietly mumble, “thank you, by the way.”
“what?”
“i said thank you,” you repeat. “i don’t know how i would’ve moved that desk on my own. so thanks.”
“you’re welcome, sweet thing,” cheol says happily. “you know, if you got my number, you could ask me for help whenever you need it.”
“i think i can manage on my own,” you say with a nod as cheol pulls up to your house. he puts the truck in park and turns to face you, arms still draped over the steering wheel.
“well, you know where to find me,” he replies. you think he’s going to say something else, but he just stares at you instead, so you awkwardly clear your throat and say your goodbyes. cheol watches you walk up to your house, making sure you’re safe inside before pulling off. you see him waiting when you turn to close the door, and you shyly wave goodbye before closing it behind you.
-
the next day you find yourself outside the diner again. you had been running around town all morning finishing up errands, and you tried holding out on grabbing a cup of coffee for as long as possible. you don’t know what cheol does to make the coffee so good but you can’t stop thinking about it. the coffee and the man serving it are addictive, and you take a deep breath before opening the door to find an empty diner. no diners, no cheol.
“hello?” you call out to no reply. you slowly walk toward the counter and take your usual seat, looking around. you hear footsteps but you’re not sure from where, and cheol appears from a dark corner at the end of the counter. he looks surprised but pleased to see you, and he takes his time moseying down to stand in front of you.
“well hey there sweet thing,” he greets you. “coffee?”
“please,” you nod. “how did you know? and where did you come from?”
“you’re a creature of habit,” he replies. “and my apartment is upstairs, it was slow so i went up to take a break.”
“really mixing your work life balance living above your business,” you tell him. “that’s not good for you.”
“coffee’s not good for you either,” cheol scolds despite handing you a fresh cup.
“then why do you serve it?” you question, taking the warm mug from him regardless.
“brings in the money,” he answers. “you want anything else?”
“hm, i’m good for now, thanks,” you reply, trying to organize the bags at your feet. cheol stands on his toes, looking over the counter to stare at your stuff.
“shopping till you drop?” he teases, and you groan as you sit back up.
“i promised my mom i would restock the house before my parents came back from vacation, so i had to get some groceries,” you start to explain. “but i forget we live in the middle of nowhere so i had to go to a couple stores to get everything i need.”
“your parents are coming back?” cheol asks, and you hum in response. he leans on the counter, abnormally close to you, before he says, “when do you want me to stop by to meet them?”
“um, never?” you respond. “you’ve probably met them already, why do you have to be weird about this.”
“because i like seeing you squirm,” he smiles before pushing back from you. “if you don’t need anything else i’m gonna go check on something in the back.”
“take your time,” you mumble. you busy yourself with something on your phone and almost miss the plate that cheol slides in front of you. you look up to see him with hopeful eyes, and then you look down to find out he’s giving you a piece of pie. “what’s this?”
“cherry pie.”
“i didn’t ask for pie,” you say, and he rolls his eyes.
“but i’m giving it to you. you could say thanks.”
“what if i don’t like cherries?”
“tough!” he replies. “i’m not leaving you alone until you take a bite.”
“what if i’m allergic?” you try testing him further, squinting at him. he squints back before he replies, watching you take your first bite.
“then i’ll administer mouth to mouth,” he retorts, making you almost choke.
“that’s not how you stop an allergic reaction,” you cough out, and cheol watches on amused.
“you want some water?”
“no, i need you ten feet away from me,” you laugh nervously. “i’ll take the check, i should go anyway.”
“but you didn’t finish the pie,” he pouts, and you feel something in your chest tighten. you settle back on the stool and sigh, taking another bite. “so?”
“it’s really good,” you mumble, some crumbs falling to your lips. cheol motions for you to wipe your mouth and, embarrassed, you grab a napkin. “but seriously. you can give me the check, i’ll go ahead and pay and you can go back to doing whatever diner man things you do.”
“i don’t have any diner man things to do right now,” he shrugs. “the check can wait.”
“why do you like messing with me so much?”
“everybody needs a hobby,” cheol smiles. “what do you like to do? throw flaming darts at a picture of me?”
“fascinating that you think i put that much emotion into how i feel about you,” you reply, and cheol mimics getting stabbed in the chest.
“damn, city girl, that hurts,” he hisses.
“sorry, that was mean,” you backtrack. “i just. i don’t know how to handle you.”
“you can handle me however you want,” he nods. “i can take it.”
“good to know,” you mumble out, focusing on the pie. “thanks for this.”
“you’re welcome,” cheol smirks, watching you intently. “i’ve heard they pair well together. kinda like you and me. the coffee is bitter, like you,” cheol teases, “and the pie is sweet, like me.”
“i’m gonna vomit.”
“not on my counter,” cheol replies with a laugh, and you glare at him as you reach for your wallet. you hand your card over to him and he pretends to swipe it at the register. “should i make fake beeping noises to sell it or will you just let me give you this for free without a fight?”
“you can’t turn a profit if you keep giving people free food you know,” you scold. “not a good business plan.”
“i only do it for you,” he shrugs. “so i think i’m fine. come back whenever want, city girl. i’ll take care of you.”
-
one of the benefits of being home is seeing all of the friends you’ve missed while you were in the city. you’ve missed your movie nights with vernon and seungkwan specifically, so when vernon calls asking what your friday night plans are you’re thrilled to tell him you’re not busy. within minutes of showing up at his house you’re settled on the ginormous bean bag chair you claimed as yours several years ago. the boys are on the couch bickering over which movie to watch, but knowing vernon, he’ll probably have the final say regardless. you don’t care what you watch, you’re just happy to be here.
“y/n, help,” seungkwan whines. “tell vernon i don’t want to watch cars.”
“it’s his house kwan,” you reply. “if he wants to binge all the cars movies then i’m afraid that’s what we’re doing tonight.”
“and this is why y/n is my favorite friend,” vernon says with a finger pointed in seungkwan’s face. he rolls his eyes and moves vernon’s hand before fighting back.
“if we’re watching cars then i need a drink,” he grumbles, and vernon reminds him that he keeps the minifridge stocked with beer just for seungkwan. he asks if you want one but you decline, too comfortable curled up on the bean bag to sit up just so you can drink.
“you gonna make it through the movie or are you gonna fall asleep on us?” vernon asks you with a smile. you hum as you think about it.
“depends,” you say with a stretch. “are we eating? food would wake me up.”
“yeah, it’s on its way,” vernon replies and you nod, nuzzling back into the bean bag chair so you can see the screen better.
“ok,” seungkwan starts as he sits back down, “i will watch this movie, maybe the second one, but i am not watching the third. and vernon i swear to god if you make me listen to life is a highway in that disgusting car of yours-”
seungkwan is cut off by the sound of the doorbell ringing, and you assume vernon, the one who lives here, will get up to check. you peek over at him and instead see both of the boys staring at you expectantly.
“what?”
“go get the door,” vernon says. “that’s our food.”
“you get it! this is your house!”
“you’re closer to the stairs,” vernon replies. “you know the rules.”
you groan loudly as you get up, and continue groaning as you stomp up the stairs, and you make sure your footsteps are loud and obnoxious as you walk to the front door to make the boys very aware of how annoyed you are. you pull the front door open just as the bell rings again, and you almost shriek when you see who’s on the other side.
“y/n,” seungcheol smiles. “fancy seeing you here.”
“what the hell?” you ask in disbelief.
“you’re not happy to see me?” he pouts, readjusting the bags of food in his arms. “bummer.”
“i-what?”
“vernon ordered food, didn’t he?” cheol asks, and you nod. “i’m delivering the food. what about this is hard for you to understand?”
“none of it i guess,” you mumble, stepping aside to let him in. “do you need help carrying it?”
“nope, just show me where to go,” cheol says as he waits for you to close the door. you start walking him toward the basement and then stop, making cheol almost run into you. “whoa city girl, warn me next time.”
“s-sorry,” you stutter, “um, i was just gonna say the stairs are kinda narrow, so seriously, give me something to carry. it’ll be easier.”
“if you insist,” cheol sighs, nodding to the bags on top. “take those. if we’re going down stairs they might fall.” you take the bags, but don’t move further. cheol gives you a look and asks, “you forget where you’re going?”
“why are you here?”
“told you,” he smiles. “i’m making a delivery.”
“but the diner, who’s watching it?”
“it’s late, diner’s closed,” he explains. “i’m doing this and then going home.”
“and you always do the deliveries yourself?” you question, finally walking back toward the basement.
“if they tip well,” he jokes. “and i’d heard you would be here, so that’s an added bonus.”
“you invited him?” you ask vernon as soon as you’re back downstairs. he turns to look at you and smiles when he sees cheol trailing behind you.
“i ordered food from him, yeah,” vernon says. “it’s good to support small businesses, y/n.”
“yeah, y/n,” cheol mimics. you try to help him place the food on vernon’s shoddy table so you and the boys can eat, but he insists, “i got it, sweet thing, you can sit down-”
“no, i’m trying to help so you can leave-”
“seriously, i’m good-”
amidst your bickering you accidentally knock into cheol, making the last part of the order topple over onto the floor. you gasp as you watch the drinks spill all over vernon’s rug, and you reach for the paper towels before kneeling down to clean the mess.
“vernon, i’m so sorry,” you say quickly, trying to dab everything up. you see him and seungkwan spring into action out of the corner of your eye, kwan looking for a real towel and vernon in search of something to handle the stickiness. that leaves you and cheol, who kneels in front of you to help in the meantime.
“you don’t know when to stop,” he mumbles as he frustratedly tears off some paper towels. you stop moving and glare at him as you ask, “what?”
“i said you don’t know when to stop,” cheol repeats, taking the dirty towels to the trash. “you don’t like people helping you. you’re too stubborn.”
“first i’m spoiled, now i’m stubborn?” you ask, still kneeling on the ground. cheol’s standing over you, returning your harsh stare, and for a moment your mind flashes to a very different situation with cheol looking down at you on your knees. “i hate you.”
“you keep telling yourself that,” cheol scoffs, walking away. “does vernon keep soap down here?”
“i mean it,” you say as you stand and follow him wandering around.
“if you hate me then why do you find a reason to see me every day?” cheol asks, spinning around to face you. “you’re either in my diner or in some kind of situation where you need my help-”
“your help?” you spit back. “i’ve never asked for your help.”
“moving your desk? feeding you? cleaning up a mess you made?” he lists off.
“oh you’re so full of yourself,” you mock.
“is that why i feel like i catch you staring at me whenever you think i’m not lookin?” he asks, and you back down. “no, tell me. am i imagining that? or am i right, are you as obsessed with me as i am with you?”
“you, what?” you whisper, watching cheol intently as he calms himself down.
“nothing. forget it,” he mumbles as he turns to leave. “enjoy the food.”
-
with your parents coming home, there was less time for you to hang around town and risk running into cheol. that’s a good thing, because you don’t think you could face him again after what happened in vernon’s basement. it was hard enough explaining to him and seungkwan what went down without them exchanging knowing glances, so you’re sure whatever feelings you have and don’t understand are just as obvious to cheol.
cheol is glad for the break too, but he finds himself hopeful at the sound of each bell, looking up to see if it’s you coming through the door or not. yes, you’re annoying. yes, you made him mad the other day. but he still wants to explore whatever’s happening between you. he knows he can be hard to read sometimes, and you’re the first person in maybe years that he’s felt this way towards. so, in the hopes of bettering himself, cheol buys a self help book. he usually turns to books when he needs a break from reality, either escaping to a fantasy world to neglect the problems in his own or buying a book that will help him with his business. it’s not out of the ordinary to find him reading behind the counter when it’s slow, but he forgets that the eyes everywhere in town make it hard to keep anything a secret.
people have noticed you suddenly stopped going to the diner, and they’ve seen cheol’s face fall every time someone other than you walks in. hoshi especially is keen to what’s going on, so during his next visit he comes in with a purpose.
“hey hosh,” cheol greets without looking up from his book. “sit anywhere, be with you in a minute.”
“sure,” hoshi nods, taking his usual spot at the counter. he lets cheol read a second longer before asking, “whatcha got there?”
“a book, you seen one before?” cheol asks as he joins hoshi further down the bar. “what can i get you?”
“i’ve seen a book before,” hoshi replies seriously. “read one? no. and i would like your finest hamburger, please. extra ketchup.”
“not sure why i even ask anymore,” cheol chuckles, writing the ticket anyway. “you always order the same thing.”
“i like what i like,” hoshi shrugs.
“yes you do,” cheol nods. “it’ll be out soon.”
“gives you more time to read, hm?”
“what? sure,” cheol agrees, scooting the book farther from hoshi so he can’t see what it is.
“whatcha reading?” he asks anyway, and cheol clears his throat, ready to lie. “something about love?”
“what?” cheol whips his head up, embarrassment in his eyes.
“there’s a big ole heart at the start of that chapter, are you reading a romance? tell me about it,” hoshi says as he rests his hands on his fists, watching cheol expectantly.
“it’s um, it’s not about love.”
“no?”
“well, not like that,” he explains. “it’s, um...you have to swear not to repeat this.”
“what’s in it for me?”
“i’ll stop serving you,” cheol warns.
“noted, your secret is safe,” hoshi agrees. “so what is it?”
“it’s a book about relationships, mostly. teaches you how to be in love better,” cheol replies, making hoshi smile.
“and who’s the lucky lady?” he asks, causing cheol to blush.
“let me go check on your food, man.”
“whoever it is i wish you a very happy life together!”
-
you’re able to last well over a week without visiting the diner. it’s been nice not running into cheol, because you haven’t experienced that weird feeling that comes with being in his presence. what’s even weirder though is the new thing you might be feeling. you think you miss him, and you really want to apologize for being such a problem before.
one saturday you’re up early, and you find yourself pacing back and forth outside the diner. it’s so early the diner isn’t even open yet, but you still trudge to the door and knock quietly, knowing if you don’t address it now you never will.
you knocked softly enough you hoped cheol wouldn’t be able to hear, but before you can run away you see his broad chest through the blinds. you hear the door unlock, followed by the bell tingling as cheol opens the door. he looks you up and down then grunts, “we’re closed.”
“but i want to come in.”
“you think you’re special, city girl?” he asks with the hint of a smile.
“i’m a paying customer, you really gonna turn me away?” you reply, and for a moment you’re afraid he’ll actually tell you to leave.
“i’d never turn you away,” he says at last, stepping to the side so you can come in. “take a seat, i just made a pot of coffee.”
“it’s like you knew i was coming,” you smile before melting into a yawn. cheol watches you fondly, placing a menu at your usual seat. “i don’t need a menu.”
“what do you want?” he asks while he makes your coffee.
“um, i uh, i wanted to say i’m sorry?” you answer, awkwardly standing next to the stool.
“you sure about that?” cheol asks as he hands you the mug. your fingers brush, and you find the confidence to look him in the eyes as you try again.
“i’m aware i can be a little hard to get along with,” you try again. “you’re really nice. and i wasn’t always appreciative of that. so i’m sorry.”
“that’s all?”
“huh?” you ask, cheeks warming in embarrassment. “i said i’m sorry-”
“i mean, are you done with your apology?” cheol corrects himself, and you nod. “good. because it wasn’t necessary.”
“it wasn’t?”
“no,” he shakes his head. “i like that you’re a little bratty.”
“oh my god,” you roll your eyes, taking a sip of the coffee to avoid saying something ‘bratty’ in response.
“sorry,” he smiles. “i should’ve said i like you just the way you are, city girl. but thanks for smoothing things over.”
“good,” you nod. “now let me pay for the coffee.”
“nope,” cheol shakes his head. “first cup of the day is always free.”
“you’re a liar,” you accuse him.
“and you’re pretty,” he counters, and you choke on your next sip slightly. “what? you disagree?”
“just wasn’t expecting that,” you say as you wipe your face. “can i get a napkin please?”
“you wanna order too?” he asks as he grabs a napkin for you. “want me to tuck this in your collar?”
“see, i thought we had reconciled and now here you are saying something insufferable again.”
“i’m good at that, aren’t i?” he smiles, passing you the napkin. “so are you staying for a while? you want banana pancakes?”
“please.”
you watch on as cheol finishes opening the diner, getting comfortable enough at your seat that you pull out a book and start reading while you wait for your food. you’re there long enough for other customers to start trickling in, and you’re too immersed in your book to hear the murmurs about you being there so early. what everyone assumes is that you just spent the night there, so the rumors that the diner owner finally found a special someone are traveling through town at the speed of light. you and cheol are both oblivious, so when he brings you your food before serving anyone else there’s several sets of eyes watching the exchange.
“what are you reading?” he asks, wiping off a set of utensils for you as he waits for your response.
“ah, it’s this book my coworker recommended,” you explain, then correct yourself. “ex-coworker, i guess. keep forgetting i don’t work there anymore.”
“you wanna talk about it?” cheol asks, helping someone else at the counter without pulling his attention from you. you shake your head, and he asks a different question, “tell me about the book then.”
he listens intently as you describe the plot, mentioning that it’s supposed to be a love story and you don’t usually like those. cheol realizes this is the most he’s ever heard you talk, and he briefly thinks about how easy it would be to sit and listen to you all day. he lets you finish before he excuses himself to make rounds through the diner, and you catch your gaze following him wherever he goes. he smirks to himself when he sees you staring, and he may or may not puff out his chest a little just to give you something to look at.
it doesn’t take you long to finish your food, and cheol keeps the coffee coming. it’s easy for you to lose track of time, and before you know it cheol is stopping in front of you with a deep sigh. you look around and notice the diner is exceptionally empty, and cheol looks exhausted.
“you ok?”
“fine,” he nods, “just a long morning.”
“what time is it?” you ask, searching for your phone.
“almost noon,” he replies, and you can feel your stomach growl. you hope cheol didn’t hear, but of course he did. “you hungry, sweet thing?”
“no, i should really go-”
“stay right there,” he says without giving you a chance to leave. he comes back with a sandwich and fries, and you start to protest when he says, “chill out, this was a pickup order no one ever came for.”
“but i don’t wanna be a bother-”
“y/n,” he says sternly, silencing you quickly. he never calls you by your name. “you’re fine. i like the company.”
“well i’ll only keep you company if you take a break and eat with me,” you conclude, and cheol has to hide his smile as he wipes his hands off.
“let me go grab a plate, we can share.”
when he comes back, you take the empty plate and slide more than half of the fries onto it followed by the bigger slice of the sandwich. cheol tries to complain, reaching for your plate so you’ll end up with the fuller meal, but you push your body weight into him to keep him away.
“cute,” he hums, letting you win. “i am stronger than you, you know.”
“more reason for you to get the bigger plate,” you say as you pop a fry into your mouth. “now eat.”
“so bossy,” he shakes his head as he obeys regardless. then, with a mouthful of sandwich, he asks, “how do you like being home?”
“eh,” you shrug. “it was nice at first because it had been so long, but now i’m kind of antsy.”
“why? missing the city too much?” cheol asks, sliding a napkin to you and motioning to the edge of your mouth. he wants to wipe the mustard off for you, but he doesn’t think that would be a good idea.
“a little,” you admit. “i miss my friends-”
“you have friends here,” cheol points out.
“i miss having things to do,” you add on. “i still don’t have a job.”
“hey, i could always use a dishwasher,” cheol teases, and you push his arm that keeps brushing against yours. “i get it though. this town’s just too small for you city girl.”
“what’s your story?” you say next, catching him off guard. to clarify, you add, “i mean, growing up you weren’t here. visiting during college i never saw you. then all of a sudden your diner is the hottest spot in town. how’d that happen?”
“you sure you never saw me before you came into the diner?” cheol asks, and you do have to think about it for a second.
“no,” you conclude, shaking your head. “i would’ve remembered your face.”
“i’ll take that as a compliment.”
“you should,” you reply, quirking an eyebrow at cheol when he looks at you surprised. “so when did you move here? how’d you start the diner?”
“my dad grew up here,” he begins. “actually, i think we went to the same university. i was talking to vernon about it and i was a couple years ahead of you, but i was there. i always dreamt of having my own business, i just didn’t know what it would look like. at first i tried setting up a cafe downtown-”
“who’s the city girl now?” you joke, and cheol pinches your arm before continuing.
“but i failed before i even started. i lost so much money i had to move back in with my dad, and he was thinking about moving back here. so i started looking at places, and planned out the diner,” cheol says with a sweep of his hand. “honestly, i’ve always been afraid of the city. so i think it’s great that you seem to thrive so much there. takes a very special kind of person.”
“i’ll take that as a compliment,” you mimic, and cheol smiles.
“you should.”
“i can’t believe this is so new though,” you say as you look around. “it feels like it’s been here forever. you’ve done a good job making this feel like home, even if it wasn’t part of me growing up here. i come in and i just feel..”
“feel what?” cheol asks, watching you intently, slowly inching closer.
“i feel safe,” you say quietly. “being here, in this town, usually gives me so much anxiety. but i come in here and...all of that goes away.”
“that’s good to hear,” cheol smiles, tentatively reaching for your hand on the counter. he places his larger, callused hand on yours and squeezes, holding your gaze as he says, “you look comfortable here.”
“it’s because of you,” you admit, and if cheol weren’t so close he would’ve missed it. you don’t elaborate, and cheol thinks things may go further, but it’s like he watches you realize what’s going on in real time. “um, i mean, you’ve worked so hard. to make this place nice, to fit in with everything else in the town. it’s um, because of you that everyone likes this place so much.”
“uh huh,” he nods, tongue in his cheek as he watches you pull away. he would try to stop you, but a quick glance at the clock on the wall tells him it’s about to be lunch rush. he won’t be able to talk to you again for another couple hours anyway, so he lets you go, even though he desperately wants to know what would’ve happened if you’d sat there a little longer.
“um, ok, so, thanks for the food,” you stammer out, making sure you have all of your things. “i really need to go now. you’ll need this stool soon.”
“sure,” cheol agrees, watching you rush toward the door. “hey!” he calls, and you turn with a frazzled look in your eyes. “what are you doin tomorrow?”
“um, nothing, probably,” you reply. “i’ll be here at some point for coffee.”
“ok,” cheol hums. “see you later then.”
-
the next day, a saturday, cheol’s busiest day, there’s a knock at your door around dinner time. you ended up grabbing coffee with vernon at the bakery this morning, so there was no need for a diner visit today. that’s why you’re shocked when you open the door to see a well dressed cheol with a nervous glint in his eyes.
“hey, city girl,” he smirks. “you free for dinner?”
“am i..what?”
“you never came by the diner today,” he pouts. “so i had to make a home visit. now come on, let’s go eat.”
“um, ok, i just, let me change first?” you ask, and cheol nods.
“i’ll be here,” he says, content to wait on your porch as you rush back inside to make yourself presentable. you go for something casual, because even though he had on a white dress shirt he was still wearing his signature baseball cap and walmart jeans. he looked incredible, but that was not what you needed to focus on right now. once you’re satisfied with your look, you sneak out the back door near your room and walk up on an unsuspecting cheol kicking rocks in your front yard. his head lifts at the sound of footsteps, and a proud smile graces his features as he says breathlessly, “you look beautiful.”
“i didn’t do anything special,” you try to downplay, but he shakes his head.
“nope, don’t do that,” he scolds. “you look beautiful. end of discussion.”
“well thank you,” you mumble, and cheol extends his hand for you to take. you shyly lace your fingers in his, and he pulls you forward so he can wrap a hand around your waist. you let out a quiet ‘oh’ as you place your hands on his chest to steady yourself, and when you look up to find cheol staring at your lips you don’t know what else to do other than lean forward and leave a delicate kiss on his. you pull back more nervous than you were before, but cheol looks pleased.
“i was just gonna say your lip gloss was smudged,” cheol says cockily. “but that was nice too.”
“oh then let me take it back,” you joke, and cheol nods, diving back in to kiss you again. “that’s not what i meant-”
“what, you want that one back too?” he asks with a playful look in his eyes.
“no, we’re good,” you laugh nervously as he starts leading you down the path from your house. “what are you up to?”
“i like you,” he says like it’s obvious. “so we’re on a date. we just kissed, remember? you were there.”
“i was, but, i mean, why?”
“why do i like you?” he asks, “or why did we kiss? because you started that.”
“ok, i’ll try again,” you groan. “why now? why not ask sooner?”
“i didn’t think you liked me back,” cheol replies with a shrug. “but after you spent the day mooning at me in the diner i was sure.”
“to be fair i wasn’t sure i liked you until i started mooning at you yesterday either,” you admit.
“i’m glad we’re here now,” cheol smiles, squeezing your hand as you see the diner in the distance. “hope it’s okay for us to eat here?”
“sure,” you shrug. “i hear it’s the best food in town.”
“wait until you’ve tried the place upstairs,” cheol says mysteriously, and you watch as he unlocks the diner and tells you to go toward the hallway that leads to his apartment.
“you closed the diner for this?” you ask, and he blushes.
“i didn’t want anyone to bother us,” he replies shyly. “plus i didn’t want my place to smell like fries when i invite you over for the first time.”
“you know you could invest in an air freshener,” you tease, letting cheol open his apartment and lead you inside. the sight in front of you takes your breath away and quells whatever smart remark you were about to make. “cheol, oh my god.”
“is it too much?” he questions, tsking as he guides you with his hand at the small of your back. you’re silent, taking it all in, noticing the fresh flowers on the table amongst the plates of food. cheol has made what looks like homemade pasta, and you think you could cry. no one has ever done something so nice for you before, and you turn to cheol to tell him exactly that, but he looks worried. “it’s too much.”
“no, cheol, i can’t believe you did this for me,” you say in disbelief. “i love it.”
“you do?” he perks up, and you assure him everything is great. “here, take a seat,” he pulls a chair out for you and hands you your napkin before grabbing a bottle of wine. “do you like red wine?”
“no,” you shake your head, and cheol laughs. “but i’ll have some tonight.”
“tried to make everything perfect,” he sighs, pouring you a small glass that you take gratefully. “guess i’ll try harder next time.”
“next time?” you question, and cheol hums. you take a sip of the wine before adding, “next time i’ll have to cook for you.”
“i’ll hold you to that,” cheol says as he finally sits down across from you. you both laugh as you notice the flowers obstruct your view, and cheol quickly moves the vase, telling you that the flowers are yours to take home later.
“thank you,” you say for the first time tonight. “thank you for all of this.”
“anything to make you feel more at home, city girl,” he says. “now try the pasta.”
you tentatively try a piece, noting that the freshness makes it easier to fork it. you watch cheol as you take the bite, and it’s embarrassing how quickly you melt at the taste. you let out a content sigh, verging on the kind of moan that only comes out when you eat the most delicious piece of food you’ve ever had. cheol couldn’t be happier, and you blush when you notice how closely he’s been watching you.
“how did you learn to cook so well?” you ask with a whine. “it’s not fair.”
“not fair?” cheol laughs, and you nod as you try to get as much pasta in your mouth as possible. “don’t hurt yourself.”
“could you leave us alone please?” you ask, a spot of pasta sauce on your chin. unlike yesterday at the diner, cheol doesn’t back down from reaching across the table to swipe the spot away with his thumb. before he can stop himself he licks it off, meeting your eyes shyly.
“sorry,” he clears his throat, finally picking up his own fork.
“you never answered my question,” you try and change the subject. “you study in italy or something?”
“yeah, actually,” cheol replies. when he sees how confused you look he smiles before explaining, “i had a study abroad in italy. it was before i knew i wanted my own cafe or diner or anything, but one of the excursions for the trip was a pasta making class. guess it stuck.”
“okay now i’m jealous,” you tell him. “of you, for going to italy. but then of anybody else who’s ever had your pasta. this is incredible.”
“you’re the only one,” cheol says nonchalantly.
“why are you so nice to me?” you ask softly, and cheol reaches for your hand across the table. he absentmindedly rubs his thumb over your knuckles as he explains.
“because i like you?” he chuckles. “i already told you that.”
“yeah, but why?” you ask, leaning closer. “why me?”
“i could ask you the same thing,” he replies, but the way you’re staring at him pushes him to answer. “you remember when you came into the diner a couple weeks ago?” you nod, and he continues. “you remember how you were a little rude?”
“if i was rude it was only because you started it,” you grumble, and cheol laughs.
“that’s why i like you,” he says, “you were the first person to take my attitude and give it right back to me.”
“well i’m glad you finally met your match,” you tease. “now can i have my hand back? i want some of that garlic bread.”
“yes ma’am,” he lets go with a final squeeze. he hands you the basket before reaching for the wine, asking, “do you want some more?”
“honestly? no,” you shake your head. “i’m fine with water.”
“i’d offer you something else, but all i have is wine, beer, and a ginger ale that’s been open for two weeks,” cheol tells you.
“actually i’ll take a beer,” you say, and cheol stares at you with a new look in his eyes. “what, weirdo?”
“careful, you might make me say the l word.”
“lasagna?” you joke, and he rolls his eyes as he gets you a beer. he gets one for himself, and you cheers once he’s sitting back down. he watches you take a sip, admiring the way your lips wrap around the bottle, and then you both go back to eating. talking to cheol is easy, you notice. this is a first date but it doesn’t feel like it, and as the night goes on you get this feeling of dread in your gut that you’ll have to leave at some point.
“why do you keep looking at the clock?” cheol asks nervously, a smile on his lips to hide the fact that he’s worried you’re bored or ready to go. “you need to leave?”
“no, no, the opposite,” you assure him. “you fed me the best meal of my life, i’ve now had a glass of wine and two beers, so i’m getting tired..but i don’t think i could leave even if i wanted to.”
“you full?” he asks, standing to clear the table. “because i made dessert too.”
“are you gonna force me to eat cherry pie again?” you ask as you try to help him clean. everything you pick up he just takes from your hands, so instead you grab the empty beer bottles and search for his recycling.
“no, but i made a tiramisu-”
“you made tiramisu?!” you ask, whirling around to see a confused cheol. he nods like it’s nothing, and you groan as you say, “i didn’t think the man of my dreams existed, and yet here you are.”
“i’m the man of your dreams?” he asks, the confusion gone as he sidles up to you to wrap his hands around your waist. “this is great news.”
“hm, suddenly i need to go,” you say as you try to step back, but cheol’s grip tightens and you think you hear the slightest growl come from deep within his chest.
“no.”
“no?”
“no,” cheol confirms, thumbs slipping under your shirt to rub circles onto your skin. “you have to at least try the tiramisu before you go.”
“what if it makes me want to stay even longer?” you ask, and cheol leans in to give you a delicate kiss. without pulling far from your lips, he whispers, “then you stay longer.”
you let your eyes linger on his for a moment before you connect your lips again, your hands moving from their awkward spot on his chest to wrap tightly around his neck. one hand steadies you, and the other tangles into the hair at the nape of his neck that just peeks out from beneath the cap on his head. you groan into his mouth and he can tell it’s a sound of frustration, so cheol pulls back to ask what’s wrong.
“do you ever take your hat off?” you ask him.
“what?”
“take it off,” you command, and you wait for cheol to loosen his grip on you to reach up and remove his hat. you keep watching as he ruffles his hair, letting down the curls you knew were hiding beneath. “do you keep those hidden from the world because you know it makes you hotter?”
“no, i work in food service, keeps my hair out of people’s lunch,” he says, pulling a shy smile from you.
“forget i called you hot then.”
“never,” he replies, leaning back down to kiss you. he pulls one of your hands from his neck and places it on his full head of curls, which you take as a sign to play with and tug at his hair as much as you please. cheol deepens the kiss, his tongue darting out to meet yours, and you unintentionally pull his hair harder. he moans into your mouth and you feel yourself shiver, but you pull back for some reason. cheol really growls this time, asking in a low voice, “where ya goin, sweet thing?”
“mind your business,” you scoff as you kneel in front of him, your hands finding the waistband of his jeans. you look up at him and ask, “is this okay?”
“more than okay,” he groans, hands lacing through your hair now. he watches on with hooded eyes as you unbutton his jeans and pull them down just below his ass, slowly tracing over the bulge in his boxers next. you’re mesmerized by the size of it and you’re still not face to face with his cock, and cheol calling your name pulls your attention back in. “having fun?”
“sh,” you hush him, tracing his outline one more time before pulling at his waistband to let it snap against his skin. he hisses and the grip on your hair tightens, his breath quickening above you.
“baby, you’re killing me,” he whispers, so you glare at him as you pull his boxers down, almost getting hit by his boner when it’s finally set free. you’re quick to grab his shaft, spitting on the tip as you hold eye contact with cheol. he lets out a shaky breath, and he tries to burn this moment into the back of his eyelids so he never forgets the way you look on your knees ready to swallow his cock. you pump him a few times, licking at his tip while you hype yourself up to take him into your mouth.
“you know, i think i’m getting tired,” you tease, trying to push cheol’s buttons. “think i might just head out.”
“you talk a lot,” cheol mumbles. “i’ve got something that could shut you up.”
“oh, you mean this?” you ask, picking up the pace of your hand stroking him until you think he can’t take it anymore. “what if i don’t want to?”
“then i won’t return the favor,” cheol challenges you. he watches, pleased, as you roll your eyes but still lean forward to wrap your lips around his tip anyway. he keeps watching as you inch further down his cock, taking him like it’s nothing. he doesn’t have to worry that he won’t fit, because you keep going until your nose is pressed against his skin. you surprise him by swallowing around him once, then twice, and he uses the grip on your hair to pull you off completely. “shit, baby, you really are trying to kill me.”
“excuse me, i’m doing some of my best work down here,” you say as you wipe the saliva off your chin. “now shut up and let me suck your cock.”
cheol lets you get back to work, but he doesn’t stay quiet. he lets himself moan freely, groaning as he tries to get you closer to him than you already are. every time you swallow around him he cries out, and you can feel yourself getting wetter. you can tell he’s trying to let you lead, his hold on the back of your head strong but reserved. he bucks his hips slightly each time you pull back and suck on his tip, but you want more. you hollow your cheeks and pick up your pace, tears stinging at your eyes as you gag around his cock. cheol has been talking you through it too, telling you how good you’re doing, how sexy you look, how good you’re making him feel. you would be embarrassed at how cock drunk you are right now, tears in your eyes and spit dribbling past your lips, but you’re addicted to the weight of cheol on your tongue and the way his strong hands tug on your hair. you have to pull back to catch your breath, a string of spit connecting your lips to his tip. as you sit back on your calves, cheol takes his cock in his hand, swiping at the spit before smearing it over his tip. he strokes himself lazily as he lets you catch your breath, and when you try to knock his hand out of the way he doesn’t let you get back to work.
“move,” you say sternly. “i’m almost done.”
“yeah, so am i,” cheol laughs. “you’re gonna make me come, city girl.”
“good,” you say proudly, “let me taste it.”
“you’re evil,” he groans, guiding his tip back to you awaiting mouth. he sighs happily when you swallow around him again, and he tentatively thrusts forward to test the waters. when you catch his eye and nod, he knows it’s okay to try again, picking up the pace so he can fuck your mouth. he’s close, and if you wanted a taste that’s what he’ll give you. “i’m about to come baby, you ready?” you moan around him and the vibration sends him over the edge, his release shooting down your throat. it’s sinful the way your eyes roll back as you swallow around him, and cheol thinks in that moment you are the most perfect woman to ever exist. he helps you carefully pull yourself off his cock, and he shudders when the cold air hits him. “you okay, beautiful?”
“all good,” you nod, voice a little hoarse. “i’m tired though.”
“too tired for me to eat you out?”
“in the morning maybe?” you ask, yawning.
“yeah?” cheol asks as he helps you up, and you nod. “you wanna stay the night?”
“can i?” you ask, realizing you didn’t know if he wanted you there or not. “i mean, is that alright?”
“yeah, of course,” cheol says quickly. “i’ll get you some clothes. and water. and a toothbrush.”
“you’re too sweet,” you say shyly, taking the flannel and boxers that he offers you. he leads you to the bathroom where he finds a clean toothbrush, and he disappears while you change so he can get you a glass of water. when he returns he finds you snooping in his medicine cabinet, his lotion on your hands and his fancy floss wrapped around your fingers. “oops?”
“no, make yourself at home,” cheol laughs, handing you the cool glass. “what’s mine is yours.”
“i’m sorry, i got too comfortable,” you say. “sorry. thanks for the water.”
“thanks for the head,” cheol smirks, and you push him slightly as you easily finish the glass. “you want more?”
“no, i’d have to get up in the middle of the night to pee,” you complain. “can i, um, do you mind? if i go to bed?”
“please, baby, you don’t have to ask,” he says, carefully leading you to his room. “i’m gonna wash up, be back in a minute.”
you carefully pull down the blankets on his bed, simultaneously feeling at home yet nervous. you feel comfortable around cheol, sure, but this still feels like a lot all at once. cheol walks in on you contemplating this dilemma that’s only in your head, and he asks with a smirk, “you gonna stare at the bed all night or you gonna get in?”
“sorry,” you mumble, scampering to get under the covers.
“stop apologizing,” he says as he walks to the other side of the bed. “you look cute in my clothes by the way.”
“you look cute without your hat on,” you counter, and you’re proud to see a slight blush on his cheeks as he lays down next to you, mimicking your posture. he lays facing you with an arm under the pillow, and you suddenly feel overwhelmed. “cheol?”
“yeah?”
“is this too much?”
“what?” he asks, the happy look in his eyes faltering slightly.
“me spending the night. it’s our first date,” you whisper, suddenly afraid that speaking too loud will make your worries bigger.
“i don’t mind,” cheol says, pulling for your free hand beneath the covers. “i am very happy to have you here.”
“i’m happy to be here,” you say quietly, and cheol looks at you with an appraising look.
“you sure about that?”
“i am,” you assure him. “i had an amazing night. i’m glad i could do something nice for you after all that you’ve done for me. but...i’m scared.”
“scared? why?”
“i like you,” you whisper. “i like you a lot. but i’m afraid of what the town will say. i’m afraid i like you too much, and i’m afraid of leaving.”
“then don’t leave,” he says simply. “and who cares what the town thinks?”
“no, like what if i get another job? what if i have to leave?” you ask, and cheol thinks for a moment before he pulls you closer, burying your head in his chest. he kisses the top of your head and whispers against your forehead, “then we’ll talk about it. for now just go to sleep.”
-
you wake up early the next morning, light trickling in through the curtains of cheol’s room. you feel more rested than you’ve been in months, maybe years. cheol is still wrapped around you from the night before, and you chuckle when you see how his lips stay pouted as he snores slightly. you watch him a little longer, pushing a stray curl out of his face, and he softly wakes up. he sees you staring down at him and he smiles, taking your hand and kissing your palm before laying it back on his cheek.
“morning, sweet thing.”
“morning, handsome.”
“how long have you been up?” he yawns.
“not long.”
“you been staring at me the whole time?”
“mind your business.”
“you hungry?”
“starved,” you reply, sitting up to stretch. “and i need coffee. bad.”
“good stuff’s downstairs,” cheol mumbles, nuzzling back into his pillow. you’re about to ask where when you look down and see he’s back asleep, so you lean down to kiss his cheek before getting up. you slide on some slippers, shuffling downstairs to the diner to make coffee. you forget to check the time though, because the quiet doesn’t necessarily mean that the diner is closed. when you appear in the doorway, obviously clad in cheol’s clothes, and the ten or so customers in the diner turn to stare at you, your heart drops as you scurry back up to cheol’s apartment. you find him in the kitchen scratching his ass, and he turns to say, “where the hell did you go?”
“you said the coffee was downstairs!” you half scream, and realization dawns on him. he’s shocked for a moment, then tries not to laugh.
“how many people saw your walk of shame?” he asks, failing to hide his smirk.
“enough,” you groan as you fling yourself into his arms. “so i’m sure everyone will know by the end of the day, and it won’t just be our business, and if i ever do leave then everyone will blame me for us breaking up, and-”
“whoa, whoa, slow down,” cheol backtracks, holding you at arms length. “you’re freaking out over nothing.”
“but-”
“no! enjoy this!” cheol says, kissing you on both cheeks. “enjoy this for as long as you can, even if you have to leave. but like i said last night, we’ll talk about that if we get there. i just want to date you and see how much fun that can be. it’s nobody’s business but our own.”
“but everyone downstairs saw me in your clothes,” you whine.
“then they’ll know how nice your legs are.”
“i’m being serious,” you push him. “it was embarrassing.”
“would coffee and tiramisu make it better?”
“throw in some banana pancakes and i might just forget it ever happened.”
“deal.”

You were tiny compared to everyone else, you had been since high school where you would always be constantly teased. The one highlight though was having a somewhat protector, a boy older than you by the name of Luke Danes would always stand up for you and fight those who’d make you cry. The sad part was catching feelings for him and knowing he’d never return them.
So, a few years later. All grown up (but still ridiculously small), you head towards the diner. The only way to start your day was with one of Luke’s coffees, you just didn’t know how different the day would end. The little bell went off, signalling that you had entered, causing Luke to look in your direction. His eyes brush over you before turning back to a customer, until his head whips around and he glares at your shirt. You give him a soft smile before practically skipping over to one of the free stools, pouting slightly as it feels as though you must climb it just to sit on it.
After Luke is done with the customer, he storms over and behind the counter before leaning over, his face nearly touching yours as he growls and glares. “What do you think you’re doing walking out in public wearing a shirt like that?!”
You frown, not understanding what he’s talking about until you look down and realise the shirt you had thrown on. There you sit, wearing a small denim skirt and a tight pink shirt that reads ‘I bet she bangs like a fairy on acid.’ You look back up at Luke and pout, “I didn’t mean to… This was the only clean shirt I could find, a–and…” You huff, wondering why you felt the need to explain yourself to him, you were a grown woman but the way he towered over you caused all your brain cells to fly out the window. Your arms cross over your chest, “I don’t need to explain myself to you. You aren’t my father!”
Luke rolls his eyes before walking around the counter and practically lifting you from your seat, his beefy tanned arms bulging slightly as he carries you past the curtain and up the stairs to his apartment. “No, I’m not your father, but I’m sure as hell not going to let you walk around dressed like a slut.” You gape at him, wondering why you could feel yourself clench around nothing, tingles set aflame on your puffy clit. He places you down gently after you both enter his place, before walking over to his closet and pulling out one of his flannel shirts. “You are going to put this on, and I don’t want to hear a peep from you about it, understood?” His glare causes your thighs to squeeze together, and you know he’s noticed it.
You squeak as you back into the door, Luke slowly making his way over to you. Each step, each thud his footsteps make cause your pussy to clench, slick gathering between your thighs. He looks like a predator, and you are his prey. “Are you seriously getting turned on by this?” You let out a whimper, lashes batting up at him as he towers over you again. His hand grips your jaw gently, making sure all your attention is on him and unknowingly causing your knees to buckle. “I knew you were a little slut ever since I stood up for you. You couldn’t hide the way you felt.” He leans closer. “You want to know how I know?”
You whine, nodding and looking up at him with hooded eyes. “Because I walked in on you during the game, you thought everyone was too busy watching, but I had taken a short break. Imagine my surprise when I hear your soft little whimpers, and an even bigger one. You kept calling out my name, while you gripped one of my shirts and humped your pretty little hand.” You gasp when you feel him pressed himself against you, your eyes widening when you imagine how you are possibly supposed to take him. You squeal when you are suddenly lifted from the ground, flung like a ragdoll onto the bed, too dazed to notice him crawling on top of you.
“Are you going to be a good little girl for me?” His bulge rubs against you while his hand moves up to grip your chin. You blink, his words sound as though they are underwater because all you can focus on is the tingles running throughout your body and how pretty his eyes look. You feel yourself clench as he slaps your cheek softly, repeating himself causing you to nod. A dumb look accompanying your face.
Everything moves so fast, or it could’ve happened slow… You didn’t know, everything felt good and fuzzy. One second you had clothes on and the next you were completely naked in front of your crush, your mind was exploding. Luke groans, gripping the base of his cock and rubbing the tip through your folds. “You’re so wet already, baby. You think you can take me?” You nod, need erupts throughout your body as your dream is finally coming true.
“P–please, Luke.” You whine, wiggling your hips as you try and press yourself closer to him. Your walls becoming slicker at the sheer size you feel against you. “I’ll be good!” Your eyes roll into the back of your head, back arching off the bed as Luke slowly pushes in. Groans fall from his lips as he thrusts through your tight hole, your walls gripping him and pulling him deeper.
“Holy fuck…” His eyes rest upon your stomach, noticing how your stomach bulges from how deep he is. “You’re doing so good, baby. You’re such a good girl.” His hands grip your hips as he begins to thrust hard and fast, splitting you open and fucking you dumb. “My good girl. So good you’ll wobble back down to the diner with my cum dripping down your legs.” He growls, lying flat against you as his hips frantically move.
“U–uhhh, mmm.” You try to speak but can’t. Your mind feels a thousand miles away and the only thing you can think about is how good Luke feels thrusting in and out of you. You can feel the veins on his cock throb with each movement, his thick tip pounding into your sweet spot. Your hands fly up and grip onto him, burying your face into his neck as you feel your orgasm approaching embarrassingly fast.
“You going to cum, little baby?” His thick voice rumbles throughout your body, sending shivers directly to your core causing you to clench around him. “Fuck. Be a good girl and cum for me.” Your eyes disappear as he fucks into you, causing your orgasm to rip out of you, covering him. Luke groans, his head rolling back as his cock throbs and twitches, balls tightening before he releases deep inside of you, thick ropes of cum covering your tiny walls until he softens. He moves slowly, making sure not to harm you as he pulls out and receives a cloth that he uses to clean you with. “You, okay?”
You hum, eyes slipping closed as your body tingles. Luke smiles as he watches you before lying next to you. Screw the diner, Caesar can take care of it for now.

a/n: thank you so much for requesting!! yes i do write for jess!! one of my fave bfs other than james potter and gilbert blythe. they’re all so<33  i’m absolutely obsessed with the grumpy x sunshine trope rn and jess with that seems perfect so that’s what im gonna write about if thats ok!!
⋆ ࣪.      ⁺⑅     ⋰˚     *.゚    .˳⁺⁎˚     ˚⁎⁺˳ .    ༺ ˖
jess has always been the bad boy of stars hollow since he moved. that is a fact. and when he meets you it completely throws him off because how can someone be so happy and sweet, and so beautiful at the same time?
obviously he’s not known for being optimistic… so when you meet him while working at luke’s, you try to make it your personal mission to have jess smile at least once a shift
luke thinks it’s great that you two have to work together because jess badly needs a good influence, and you’ve known luke since you were young so you’re completely and entirely trusted with the shop when luke goes fishing and whatever
jess is astounded
and then the way you treat the customers
even kirk likes you- he thinks you’re a wonderful break from whatever the hell luke’s attitude is
you’ve memorized everyone’s regular orders and never fail to serve someone without a smile on your face
at first it kinda pissed jess off tbh because he thinks it’s an act and not genuine
but as he gets to know you better he realizes that you’re just a really lovely sunshiney person no matter what, and hey, maybe you’re rubbing off on him a bit after all
one time he leaves his book at the counter while he’s on a break and you run up to the apartment to give it to him, even though there’s a backlog of customers
“you forgot your book downstairs”
he kind of stares at you, a smile creeping up
“thanks”
“you’re welcome”
more awkward pauses
“you should really use a bookmark, you know, it’s bad for the pages if you bend them like that”
“you read?”
“yeah. you should really start a new book, though. that one had a super unsatisfying ending”
“oh yeah?”
that’s when everything changes for him
the next shift he comes to work on your day off and you’ve left him a small package beside the coffee machine with his name in cursive on it
it’s a book
your handwriting is inside the front cover with a little note to him
‘for jess, this is my favorite book, don’t bend the pages please :)’
and then there’s a homemade bookmark
from then on you guys start trading books
and he starts smiling at you more
you guys get closer and more attached, working perfectly in sync at the diner- you’ll have the fries done at the same time he’s grilled a burger, so that everything stays warm for the customers
jess also starts doing more little things for you: wiping down the counter, helping clean up so you can go home earlier, giving you all the tips in the tip jar even though technically he deserves half
until one day you come into work late, eyes rimmed with red, furiously blinking tears away
he’s never seen you like this, so obviously he has to fix it
because you’re y/n l/n. you’re the sunshine of stars hollow
lorelai and rory are there, and so he asks lorelai to help man the coffee
jess takes you upstairs to his room, away from prying eyes, and asks you what’s wrong, cause he can tell
you just burst into tears
“hey hey hey, you’re okay, what’s wrong?”
cue protective jess.
through the tears you tell him how you’re overwhelmed with school, homework, the pressure to get into a good university, and how you feel like you’re supposed to handle it all by yourself
jess knows it’s not the time for wisecracks
so he wipes away the tears from your cheeks and listens as you talk
when you’ve calmed down, you hug him as a thank you
jess has never really been hugged before. luke and his mom aren’t very affectionate, especially physically
when you finally pull away, his touch lingers
and you kiss him on the cheek very quickly
that’s when jess knows you’re the one
you’ll always be his sunshine, even through both of your worst moments
and he knows he’s going to spend the rest of his life with you, and devote his days to hearing you laugh
but that’s a story for another time
i hope you like this!! thanks so much for requesting, sorry if this got a bit long or if it’s not what you're looking for. likes and reblogs are appreciated! <33

you had been mid-rant, jess fresh on break with a tea towel over his shoulder and hair tousled from the aftermath of mid-afternoon rush in luke’s café. when you had entered, the chaos of people leaving, jess breathed a sigh of relief and his uncle granted him his break.
you were talking about your long day at college – filled with dramatic students and unsympathetic professors, jess was sitting across from you, head perched on his palm staring at you.
“… i didn’t do one of the readings because i used that time to see you instead, god forbid i have a social life because he didn’t care… he just looked right at me and said that i should’ve known the answer.”
jess quirks a smile, a simple ‘how was your day?’ turning into a ramble that he didn’t dare interrupt. he knew you were interested in him, you just needed to offload and then you’d ask how his day was – even though his was significantly more boring than yours.
“anyways, i met paris for a bit during our free periods – she drove down and we grabbed some lunch. so that made me feel better, oh they had the best black coffee! paris loved it! i should take you sometime-”
you take notice into how jess is staring at you, your energy yields as you take it for boredom rather than admiration, the relationship was still fairly new in your defence.
“i would love that, baby,” jess replies.
your eyebrows furrow, your finger that previously runs across jess’ free palm stops. jess matches your expression, hand cupping yours with a small, “what’s just happened?” confused by the sudden silence and change of energy.
“no, sorry, was just rambling. i haven’t even asked you how your day was…” you trail off, looking down to your hands to avoid eye contact in case you might cry. jess tries to meet your gaze, head lobbing down, “it’s okay, i like listening to you talk.”
you look at him, eyes wide and confused, “you do?” jess’ heart throbs in his chest, unsure if you’ve been called out on being talkative or upbeat before, but a topic he’ll bring up another time. “’course, baby.”
your biting your lip anxiously, the need to kiss him very much sitting in your heart, if only you weren’t in the company of small-town eyes – babette sitting across the room. “how was your day?” you ask jess, smiling happily when he takes both your hands in his.
“alright, kirk saying this, dean annoying the living the hell outta me. but tell me more about the café. we could go on friday after your college class, yeah?”
you couldn’t help following your heart in leaning over and kissing jess, even if it was only for a few seconds.

Pop of Colour

Flufftober, October 9th
Female reader x Jess Mariano
Summary: Jess asks you paint his nails
Warnings: none
A/n: this is the first Gilmore Girls fic I've written, I hope it's good! Oh, and this is ooc but Jess is my sweet baby, so hush and read! ...only if you want to <3
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Jess is sitting on your bed, leaning against your headboard with one of your pillows in his lap. He watches as you screw the top back on your nail polish. He watched you paint your nails the whole time.
He's always been interested in painted nails and always wished he could have his colorful as well. But he knows people will point it out and they'll make fun of him, as his mom had always told him, even when she was drunk or high as a kite. All her boyfriends and husbands had made it very clear that boys should never have painted nails or wear any makeup when Jess once came back home from school after coloring his nails with markers at school.
"You okay, Jess?" You ask him, noticing his eyes trained on your hands. "Um, yeah, sorry" he looks up at your face.
After a pause he opened his mouth again, "I-I was wonderin if you could, uh, paint...my nails? please?" He knows that he's not good at asking for things or asking about stuff, but he's been trying since you guys started dating.
"Oh, yeah, of course, hun. Come over here" You softly smile and nod over to the other chair with a sweater draped over the back of it.
He blinks for a second, surprised that you said yes, and puts your pillow back. He climbs off the bed and sits down on the chair. You pull out your small basket with nail polish and sit on your chair, holding it out to him.
"You can choose whatever colour you want," You tell him and he takes the basket from you.
He gently rummages through the different colours and pulls a dark red one out. He hesitantly hands it to you and places the basket on your desk.
You take it from Jess and shake it for a couple seconds. "Good choice" You twist the top open. "Okay, place your left hand on the desk and keep it still," You tell him. He nods, obliging to the order. He places his left hand on the wood surface.
As you paint his nails, his eyes are focused on the strokes of the small brush. Every time you dip the brush back into the polish and start on the next nail, he feels the coolness of the strong smelling dyed chemical.
"Aaand...done" you twist the top back onto the bottle and put it with the rest of them.
Jess looks down at both of his hands. A smile perks up on his face when he sees the shiny polish on his nails.
"You like?" You ask, seeing the smile on his face. "I love 'em...thank you" He answers, still working on not being closed off with his thoughts and emotions.
"Of course, any time. Now, just for the next five minutes, keep your hands still, especially the one I just painted, to make sure nothing smudges" You put the basket away before leaning against the desk.
"But what if I wanted to kiss you?" Jess smirks, trying to put his 'bad boy' image back up. "Hmm, cute" You smirk back, knowing exactly what he's trying to do.
"You'll have to wait, for now, this'll have to suffice" You lean down and kiss his forehead.
"Oh, come on, not even a real kiss" He pouts, something that's new for him, but he makes sure to only do it in front of you. He almost slipped up in front of Luke after he had a nightmare one night, and it was a complete disaster in his mind.
"Nope, you, baby, are gonna have to wait" You playfully wink, making him groan. The only good thing out of your teasing is now he knows what it's like to have painted nails like he's always wanted without someone making fun of him (at least right now at least), And if Luke brings up how his nail colour changed, no he doesn't.
Reader works at the diner and sees how hung up on Rory Jess is. She decides to distract him from his infatuation (smut more than welcome, also this can be when they are adults if you prefer.)
Taking Your Mind Off of Her
Buy me a coffee :)
Gilmore Girls Rewatch
Tumblr media
You and Jess had a friend with benefits situation going on between the two of you, but you were quickly regretting it as you felt feelings develop for him. And what made it worse was that you had to see him every day due to the both of you working at Luke’s Diner. And what made it even worse was the fact that you had to watch him pine for Rory.
This day in particular was driving you up the wall. Lorelai had just left, leaving Rory sitting on her own at the table; something that Jess rectified as quick as he could, sliding into the seat next to her and leaning in close. You could hear them talking quietly and Rory’s giggle every now and then, a sound that had your eyes rolling. You felt bad for Jess as you saw his face light up after he made her laugh and you knew that any second, that expression was going to be wiped off of his face.
Just like clockwork, you heard Rory harshly reminding Jess that she was with Dean before she stormed out of the Diner, leaving Jess sitting on his own at the table, trying his best not to look dejected. You made your way over to the table and picked up the abandoned coffee up. ‘Jess, you know that she has a boyfriend,’ you reminded him, ‘do you really think she’s going to break up with him? Everyone loves him in this town.’
‘Don’t remind me,’ Jess said quickly, still looking down at the table, his jaw set as he tried not to let any emotion show on his face. Sighing heavily, you reached down and grabbed the sleeve of his t-shirt, yanking him up and dragging him towards the stairs that led to his and Luke’s apartment. ‘What are you doing?’ he protested, but not trying to get out of your grip as he followed you.
‘Taking your mind off of her,’ her you replied as you opened the apartment door and pushing him against it when it closed. ‘I’m fed up of watching you mope around after her, you need to deal with the fact that she’s chosen someone else.’ You spat out before crashing your lips onto his.
The second your lips were on his, Jess’ arms wrapped around you, pulling you tightly against him and spinning the both of you around until you were the one who was pressed against the door. His hands moved to grip both of your wrists and he pulled them up until he was pinning them above your head. His hips pressed against yours and you whined against his lips when you felt his cock pressing against your groin. ‘You going to distract me?’ he asked lowly, moving both of your wrists into one hand and using his now-free hand to trail down your body, slipping underneath your t-shirt to graze his fingers against your bare skin.
‘Yes,’ you gasped, nodding your head, quickly falling into a headspace that would let Jess do pretty much anything he wanted to you. His pressed his hips impossibly closer to yours, lowering his mouth until it grazed your ear.
‘Jump,’ he said, letting go of your wrists and letting you jump into his arms, wrapping your legs around his waist as he carried you through the apartment, throwing you down onto his bed. He reached down to push his jeans and boxers down his legs and quickly getting rid of his top before he crawled back over your body. Whilst he was undressing, you took the time to undress yourself so by the time he was hovering over you, the two of you were naked. He lowered his hand to gently push two fingers into you, causing your back to arch and your chest to press against his.
‘Jess,’ you whimpered as soon as his thumb joined to rub circles against your clit.
‘That’s it, good girl,’ he murmured as he lowered his head to your neck, pressing kisses to your skin, making your eyes roll to the back of your head as your fingers tangled in his hair, wanting to hold him as close to you as you could. ‘You thought you’d distract me? Don’t want me thinking about Rory?’ he asked, smirking when he felt your body tense slightly at the sound of her name. Jess chuckled lowly as he felt you still underneath him and he lowered his head to take one of your nipples between his teeth, nipping your skin slightly and causing your back to arch up into him.
‘Jess, please,’ you begged, tears pricking in your eyes when you felt him take his fingers away.
‘So Rory’s a touchy subject?’ he teased, pulling away.
‘Stop,’ you whined, writhing on the bed as Jess watched with amusement playing in his eyes when he saw just how much the thought of him with Rory was irritating you. When you realised that Jess was content with watching you for a moment, you huffed and sat up, reaching down to the floor to pick up your discarded clothes, trying desperately to hide the smirk on your lips, knowing that this was a sure-fire way to stop his teasing.
‘What are you doing?’ Jess asked, all trace of amusement disappearing from his voice when he clocked the moment your fingers wrapped around the blouse that you’d been wearing, slipping it over your shoulders until it hung off of your body.
‘Well, you’re clearly not going to do anything so I might as well just go home,’ you said, swinging your legs over the side of the bed.
All of a sudden, you found yourself pressed back into the mattress with Jess pinning you down as a low growl came from his chest. ‘You’re not going anywhere,’ he murmured as his lips latched onto your neck, a satisfied smile appearing on your lips as your plan worked. ‘You told me you were going to distract me, so you’re going to distract me.’
You gasped at his words and at the feeling of him suddenly pressing into you. Jess held himself still above you while he let you adjust to him and your fingernails dug into his arms slightly. ‘Or maybe it was you distracting me just then?’ you managed to breath out sarcastically, causing Jess to let out a dark chuckle before he pulled out only to push back into you, starting up a rhythm that had you being pushed up the bed with every thrust.
‘You’re always so good to me,’ Jess groaned as his arm wrapped around your waist, keeping you pinned where you were, not letting you move any further up the bed. His hips were hitting against yours harshly and you knew that you were going to have bruises in no time but you couldn’t bring yourself to worry about that at the moment; you were too busy chasing the high that you know only Jess would be able to give you.
‘Jess,’ you whined, seemingly unable to utter another word.
‘Yeah, sweet girl?’ he asked condescendingly. ‘You got anything else to say or have I fucked all of the other words out of that pretty little head of yours?’
You could only nod in reply as he lowered his hand to rub tight circles against your clit and your arms wrapped around his neck, pulling him down into a bruising kiss that had you both moaning into each others mouths. As soon as Jess heard your whimpers and whines growing louder, he pulled back to look at you, marvelling at how someone so beautiful actually liked him.
‘You’re close, aren’t you? Go on, cum for me, (Y/N),’ he encouraged as his own pace started to falter as he was falling over the edge but wanting you to cum first. You left yourself tip over the edge as your legs tightened around Jess’s waist as you felt him still against you.
The two of you slowly came down and Jess lowered his body until his weight was comfortably resting against you. His hands gently threaded through your hair and he kissed you gently, the action causing butterflies to erupt in your stomach.
‘Thank you,’ he whispered softly against your lips, your eyes fluttering open in confusion.
‘For what?’
‘For distracting me for a while.’
It was then that you felt everything come to a screeching halt. You’d forgotten that that was all this was. You and Jess weren’t together and he was hung up still on Rory Gilmore.
All you was to him was a distraction from what he really wanted.
ROMANTIC GESTURE — JESS MARIANO
Tumblr media
masterlist
pairing: jess mariano x reader
description: jess wasn’t going to buy your easter basket and risk the embarrassment of his potentially unrequited feelings. so instead, he pays kirk to buy it so he can steal you away.
warnings: bit of swearing, bit of fluff, jess mariano i love u
author’s note: jess mariano stop appearing in my dreams challenge! anyway, hope you all enjoy. this has been in the drafts for ages and i finaaally finished it.
You were perched opposite Rory at Luke’s, on the edge of your seat as you tapped your feet anxiously and leaned on your basket.
“Nobody’s going to buy my basket,” you huffed, “You’re so lucky you’ve got Dean to like, 100% make sure yours gets bought.”
Rory rolled her eyes, “You’re being dramatic, Y/N. The town loves you. Just because you’ve been here less time, doesn’t mean nobody will buy your basket. Hey, maybe stalker over there will buy it.”
Rory was blissfully unaware that despite pretending to be distracted by wiping down the counter, Jess’ ears were practically pricked up like a dog listening.
“Stop calling him that, Rory,” you shook your head, cheeks burning as you looked over at him and he briefly looked up and caught your eye, “He’s my friend. And he said he wasn’t participating, which I assume means no buying as well as no making.”
“Whatever you say, Y/N. But we’d better head over there.”
You nodded, following her down to where Taylor Doose was already stood yelling at the town to hand their baskets in with haste and get ready to begin bidding on them.
Jess was lurking just out of sight, deciding what his best approach was for buying your basket and getting to have lunch with you as a result.
He spotted Kirk meandering over, a lightbulb moment sparking in his head as he dashed over to his side, “Kirk. I need you to do me a favour.”
“Jess Mariano needs a favour from me?”
“Yes— I need you to buy Y/N’s basket for me and then give it to me,” his hands were stuffed in his pockets as he sighed out his request, and Kirk eyed him inquisitively.
“What’s in this for me? And why can’t you buy it yourself?”
Jess huffed, “I’ll pay you 20 dollars. I can’t buy it myself because I told them I wasn’t going to be free to. I’ll be back at the diner, bring me the basket when you’ve got it and I’ll go and meet them with it. It’s a surprise then.”
“Oh,” Kirk stared blankly for a moment, “A romantic gesture. Got it. The whole town have been wondering when you’d finally get together. I’ll tell Taylo—,”
Jess took a step forward, hands flying from his pockets, “Don’t say a word! Just— we’re friends. I’m being a nice friend and buying Y’N’s basket.”
“What if I want to buy Y/N’s basket? I’m her friend.”
“Why would you want it?”
“Because— I don’t know. But I might.”
“Just take your $20 and buy me the basket, and I’ll give you what you paid for it after, Kirk,” he pulled $20 from his wallet and handed it over, “Or I’m telling Luke.”
With that, Kirk nodded and scurried over to complete his ‘mission’.
Kirk came rushing into the diner out of breath, basket in his hands and his face bright red, “I got it! I got Y/N’s basket. I paid $120 because a love rival of yours wanted it too, according to Ms Patty, so it was difficult. But I got it.”
“$120? I don’t have—,” he rethought it as he saw you headed for the diner, “Fine.”
He pulled his remaining cash from his wallet, handed it over to Kirk as he took the basket from him, and then wrote Luke a note explaining why he was about to take cash from the register and replace it with savings he had stashed upstairs when he next went up.
You entered the diner alone, no Rory this time, and Jess was relieved. He knew she didn’t like him, so he was happy to have time alone with you.
“Oh, so Mr Too Cool for the Easter basket bid wanted a basket after all and just got Kirk to do the work for him?” you teased, propping yourself up on the counter as you tried to suppress the giant smile forming as a result of his gesture.
“Well, time-honoured town traditions aren’t really my thing,” he shrugged nonchalantly, just a hint of a smile tugging at his lips, “But you’re good at this kind of thing. I thought it’d be nice.”
You placed your hand on top of where his rested on the counter, “Oh wow, are you ill? Is Luke ill? Am I ill and entirely unaware? Jess Mariano— doing something because you thought it’d be nice…”
He shook his head with a laugh, “C’mon, I can be nice!”
“Oh sure. You’ll have to show me this apparent nice Jess now when we go and eat the miserable contents of this basket,” you sing-songed, aware that your hand was still on top of his. You grabbed it, giving it a light tug to urge him to get away to join you now.
“Hm, not sure you deserve it if you’re going to tease me,” he pouted, following you out of the diner anyway as you swung the basket in your hands and skipped along, “Fine. Well let me choose where we go to eat then.”
“Sure. I just wonder where you’ll take me,” you teased, watching a smirk grace his face as he shook his head, “Gee golly I sure hope there’s a bridge involved.”
You’d wandered past him sat on that bridge many a time and it had once been your reading spot instead.
Jess scoffed at your mocking, “It’s quiet, can you blame me? I’ve already had Kirk telling the whole town about my supposed romantic gesture.”
You narrowed your eyes, briefly feeling a pang in your chest at the implied denial that there was anything romantic about him buying the basket.
“So this wasn’t your way of confessing your undying love for me?” you paced your palm to your chest in feigned dismay, “What’s your motive, then? Are you luring me out there to kill me?”
“You’re a pain in the ass, Y/N,” Jess rolled his eyes, “Can we just go?”
“No denial. Wow, I’m gonna die at Jess Mariano’s hands, and the last thing I’ll have eaten will be my miserable cheese sandwiches,” you gasped.
Jess led the way out through the town, clocking that all eyes were on you both, “Bold of you to assume I’d let you live that long. Think I’d get the job done quick enough to eat the sandwiches myself. I am pretty hungry.”
“Well unfortunately for you I put up a good fight when I’m hungry,” you nudged him, “And you’re supposed to be being nice, huh?”
Jess nudged you back, “You accused me of plotting to kill you!”
You just hummed, swinging the basket as you walked at his side and finally reached the bridge. You sat yourself down, waiting for him to follow suit as you immediately began unpacking.
“Wow, someone’s eager.”
“You just spent $120 to eat sandwiches with me Mariano,” you laughed, “You haven’t got a leg to stand on talking to me today.”
Jess shrugged, conceding as he looked into the basket while you pulled out it’s contents, “Pretty good.”
You handed him a sandwich with a small smile, taking one of your own and unwrapping it to take a bite, “In all seriousness, why did you actually bid on my basket?”
Your voice was small, and it warmed Jess’ heart to see you nervous to hear his answer.
“I just thought it’d be nice,” he shrugged, but you could see in the way his eyes lingered on you, as they so often did, that he was being honest now.
You smiled, “It is nice. I’m glad. Rory’s always got something to say when we talk at Luke’s, it’s nice to have time to talk alone.”
Jess quirked his brow with a smirk, “To talk alone? Are you sure it’s not you confessing your love for me?”
You scoffed, but the scoff became a small laugh as you looked at your feet where they swung over the edge of the bridge. Had you given the game away with your nervousness? Would it be clear now that you really did like him?
“You know what I mean, asshole,” you chuckled, shrugging, “I like your company.”
He smiled genuinely again, the glimmer in his eyes sending sparks through your body, “I like your company too. Just about the only person in the shithole town whose company I do enjoy.”
“You’re so poetic, Mariano,” you joked, taking another bite of your sandwich and trying to hide your blush, “But I’m glad. I really—yeah, I just like spending time with you.”
There was a brief moment of silence as you both continued eating, swinging your legs practically in sync with each other as you did so.
“Can I be honest?” Jess almost whispered as he finished his sandwich and leaned over to grab a juicebox, “Nice touch by the way.”
You giggled, “Hey, you can’t beat a juicebox. Gimme one, please.”
He handed you one too, and as you pierced the carton with your straw you’d remembered what he said before, “Of course— Of course you can be honest. What is it?”
He gulped, taking one small sip of his drink and then placing it down at his side, “I kinda did this to help me, I dunno, tell you that I liked you. Thought the gesture would… This feels stupid now.”
You bit your lip, trying to process what was currently happening, “It’s not stupid, Jess. I was hoping that was what this was… I mean, who spends $120 on a basket—,”
“Stop reminding me how much money I spent, please,” he interjected with a groan.
“Sorry—,” you smiled, “I didn’t want to get my hopes up and thought maybe it was just you confirming we were friends, but I’ve liked you for ages, Jess.”
He seemed more than pleased with this, a huge smile spreading across his face as you fluttered your lashes at him and smile right back in his direction.
He clenched his jaw, “Really? Rory’s always teasing you so I thought—,”
“How is someone so intelligent simultaneously so dumb?” you teased, shuffling closer to him and pushing the basket back so that you could move close enough that your thighs almost touched, “She teases me because she knows I like you, Jess. It was her who encouraged me to make a stupid basket to see if you’d bid because that would apparently prove you liked me too.”
Jess laughed, “I s’pose it worked out, then. I—I really like you, Y/N. At first I thought it was just because you were the only person here who isn’t— well isn’t always— a pain in the ass. I thought I’d just found a friend, y’know. But that’s not it, I really like you. I don’t wanna be just friends.”
Your heart was racing, and he seemed to have closed the last remaining gap between your sides. You leaned your head on his shoulder with a happy sigh, “I don’t wanna be just friends either.”
His hand moved to rest atop yours where it was placed on your knee, “That’s made the ridiculous amount of money somewhat worth it.”
“Only somewhat, hm?”
“It’ll only be completely worth it when you’re my girlfriend,” you could tell he was shy about saying that, “So yeah, only somewhat.”
“Is this your way of asking me to be your girlfriend, Mariano?” you grinned, heart still thrumming hard against your ribcage as he tilted to look at you.
“It might be,” he smirked, “But only if your answer’s gonna be yes. If not you’ve like, totally got the wrong idea Y/N.”
You leaned up, propping yourself up with your hands on his shoulder, and pressed a small kiss to the corner of his lips.
He smiled against your lips, reciprocating the kiss for a moment, “Is that a yes?”
You laughed, hooking your arm around his and leaning on his shoulder once more, “Yes, Jess. I’d love to be your girlfriend.”
You sat in silence for a moment, enjoying the sound of only the stream of water beneath you and your synchronised heartbeats.
“Those sandwiches sucked, by the way.”
“Oh I know,” you hummed, “I didn’t want to end up eating them with someone else so thought it wasn’t worth making much effort. Hence me hardly packing much.”
“Well now you’ve just got a hungry, broke boyfriend,” as soon as he said the word broke he was once again reminded of the cost of the basket.
“$120 man. Wow, I really do like you.”
———
Could you do 30. ‘‘Each of my thoughts about you are improper.’‘ with Jess Mariano 😄
I haven’t written for Jess in so long. Hopefully this is good🤞
Tumblr media
The smell of his pine aftershave lingered on you after you left his apartment, making you wish you were still tangled in the sheets with him. Soon, you'll be graduating and this back and forth driving to see Jess will come to an end.
You hadn't told anyone yet, but once college will be over, you'll be moving to Philadelphia and getting an apartment with Jess. His roommates had kindly offered you to stay with them, but you felt uncomfortable moving in with Matthew and Chris. They were very nice guys, you just wanted privacy.
‘’I don't want you to go,’’ Jess said against your shoulder, half-asleep.
It was Sunday and he knew what was coming.
You rubbed his back, his skin golden from the sun coming through the window, wishing Sundays weren’t a thing. Long distance relationship sucked.
‘’Can’t you stay until lunch? We could get breakfast at the café on 2nd street?’’
‘’The pancake place?’’
Jess hummed and began kissing your neck to make himself extra convincing.
Unfortunately, you had to decline. You had to go over your English paper for Monday one last time and finish your article for the Daily News. You had also promised Rory you would get coffee with her in the afternoon.
‘’Or we can stay in bed and…’’ His hand glided under the covers and down your body and slipped underneath your sleeping shorts, making you swallow a moan when his finger brushed over your clothed clit.
Maybe coffee with Rory could be reported. She would understand, right?
You bucked your hips into Jess’s touch, asking for more.
‘’So, is this a yes for the bed?’’ he asked, cocking an eyebrow.
You hit his arm. ‘’You’re such a horn-dog.’’
‘‘I can't help it. Each of my thoughts about you are improper.’‘ His lips crashed over yours and his fingers pulled aside your underwear.
Mirrorball (Blueathens Version)
Luke didn’t believe in magic, he thought it was all a make-belief idea just to make children excited about things like fairies and witches.
But if Luke could, he would take back everything he once said bad about magic as he watched his nephew laugh – actually laugh.
Jess Mariano was laughing, and Luke didn’t think it was possible for Jess to even give a slight turn of his lips, but here he was actually laughing. Luke has never seen anyone laugh as hard before, but here his nephew was, laughing with Rory’s younger twin, and Luke could swear this was a miracle.
This was in fact magic.
But Luke didn’t know why he was surprised, everyone loves Y/n, there was something about her that when she was near it would bring instant happiness to everyone around, she just had this armoured glow that surrounded her – but Luke never thought it would have an effect on Jess, he personally thought that Jess had this some form of curse upon him where he wouldn’t let himself be happy.
But he was laughing – really laughing.
“Is Jess smiling?” Ceaser questioned as he walked out from kitchen, standing next to his boss, as he, along with everyone else in the diner, secretly watched the two young teens laugh at whatever nonsense fell from the their lips.
“Shh,” Luke aggressively says, not once moving his eyes away from the pair. “I don’t want anything to ruin this.”
“But Jess is smiling,” Ceaser points out. “Laughing actually.”
“I’m aware.” Luke said as he tried to make it seem like he was writing something in his notepad instead of stealing glances at the two teenagers that sat at the furthest table. If it was any other day, Luke would be hitting Jess with the tea towel that hang over his shoulder and tell him to get back to work, but even Luke didn’t feel like he has the power to even go over there after seeing how happy his nephew is.
Jess had already been here for two weeks now, but Y/n wasn’t around when he arrived, she was off in a different city with a friend, and the two had only met the other day when Jess started his shift for the day, not noticing that there was a third Gilmore until she got up and begged him for another coffee; it was her sixth cup.
Luke told Jess that she’s going to drop down dead if she has another coffee and if by some form of miracle – if by magic – Jess convinced the youngest Gilmore to have a different drink instead. Luke didn’t know how it happened, but he noticed an unfamiliar soft smile on his nephews face as he looked at Y/n.
They talked throughout his shift, and then they both disappeared afterwards, apparently they sat on the bridge and just talked.
That’s what Miss Patty saw.
Everyone didn’t think it was possible for the troubled teen to speak so many words or even be able to express a single smile but seeing him with the Y/n once again today, smiling and laughing, they believed anything was possible.
“They’re both happy,” Rory whispers as she carefully looks over her shoulder. “Did you ever think it was possible for two people to be this happy?”
Her mother shook her head as she too watched her daughter with the boy she wasn’t totally happy with, but even she wasn’t going to ruin this as she too has never seen such a huge grin on Y/n’s face either.
“Perhaps,” Lorelai lifts her coffee to her lips, taking a sip, “perhaps Jess isn’t the worst.” She says as her eyes didn’t leave her laughing daughter’s face.
Even Jess didn’t think this was possible, usually other people’s happiness made him feel sick, but here he was with a stupid grin plastered across his face and a comforting feeling bubbled in his stomach as he admires the smile on her lightly pinkish lips.
Jess had never felt so safe before but being here with her as she tosses her head back, laughing, made Jess feel like the safest man on this planet. Jess never thought he was this funny, but here she was laughing at some follow-up joke he made to one of hers, but Jess also thought no human could possibly have this good of a humour, but just like everything else she’s proving him very wrong.
She was practically shimmering in front of him, glistening like a thousand little fairy lights as she lights up every bit of darkness within him.
Jess never thought he had any of these good sides before, not until meeting her. He didn’t think he could ever feel this happy, but she was showing him a sight of himself that he has never seen before.
“You know,” Jess states as their laughter dies down, “you’re kind of like a mirror.”
Y/n has heard this term before from other people. Most would relate her to a mirror as she would reflect back emotions, body languages, tones of a person’s voice, and has even mimicked personalities before.
She decided this wasn’t a good thing.
“Oh,” she purses her lips in thought. “I just,” she lets out a small sigh, “I guess I have this thing where I copy the energy of my environment.” She was nervous now, picking at her the broken strings of wool of her sweater.
Jess was beginning to get nervous too at the sight of her, in fact he was a bit scared that he just ruined a good thing going – I ruin a lot of things, he thought, and I just had to go and ruin this.
Jess imagined this was her shattering moment after being happy for so long, he knew it was too good to be true for someone to remain that happy, and Jess quickly understood maybe this ‘mirror act’ was a façade to cover up all the pain she may have gathered throughout her life, and the only why she can be happy is whilst she’s making other people happy.
She wasn’t able to reflect the energy within the diner any longer, nor was she able to mimic Jess’ emotions, instead he was mimicking hers, he was feeling every emotion she was feeling in this exact moment, and Jess didn’t like feeling this way if it was the same way she felt.
He wanted her to be happy.
Jess took a quick look around the diner, everyone was happy, they weren’t like the two frightened teens on this table.
Jess watched as Y/n let out another sigh before offering him a smile. Was that it? He thought. Was that the small amount of suffering she allowed people to see? That scared Jess even more as the thought of her suffering in a much greater deal behind doors without anyone to bring her back to the surface… that scared Jess to think that a happy person like Y/n could suffer so much.
The smile he gave him was forced though, Jess knew that for sure, it was a strained and tired smile. Like all of her social butterfly has simply just died right there and then. That she would much rather be alone right now than surrounded by the many people in this diner.
“Do you wanna go somewhere else?” Jess offered and Y/n was quick to shake her head.
“I’m good,” she taps her fingers anxiously on the table, but quickly puts a stop to it when she notices Jess’ eyes lingering on her movements.
“We can go back to the lake?” He offered again but just like the last offer she shook her head; again.
“I’m good,” she reassures, but her smile still doesn’t meet her eyes.
“Okay,” he whispers as he stretches his arm to rest at the back of her chair, he learns forwards, closer to her like was about to tell her a secret and didn’t want anyone else to hear, and if he was being honest he was and he knew what this town was like. “But you don’t have to act around me.”
“What if that’s all I know?”
“Then we’ll just have to learn together on how to be better,” Jess simply says, “and you’re the only person I like in this town, maybe even in the entire world.”
“Maybe?” She teased and her smile finally reached her eyes.
Jess smiles, a real, genuine smile, “I know you’re my favourite person.” Very carefully, very hesitantly Y/n rested her head against Jess’ shoulder. “Ever.” And he softly rested his head on top of hers and he watched as his fingers itched towards hers, and very slowly he allowed his fingers to brush against hers on the table, before laying his hand on top of hers before sliding his fingers in-between hers.
They smile at the shared contact between each other.
“I’m pretty certain you’re my favourite person too,” whispers Y/n and a small blush went across Jess’ cheeks, and he thought no one would be able to see it at there were all in their own conversations, but his uncle noticed, and the corner of his lips tugged up at the idea that his nephew was happy.
“I think I’m pretty stupid sometimes,” confesses Y/n quietly, “I think I try too much, try to make everyone see me and see happiness. I try to make everyone happy around me whilst I would much rather be at home crying.” Y/n stares at their hands and hums softly when she feels Jess squeezing her hand, letting her know it’s okay to talk to him, he wasn’t going to judge her.
“I just want people to look at me and see happiness,” her voice cracks, “but it’s tiring pretending all the time.”
“I know,” Jess says, “we don’t got to pretend around each other though, I got you now, and I just want you to be okay.”
“What if I can’t actually be okay?”
“You will,” he says, and he knows it as he never felt okay until he was put in her presence. “You just got to give yourself time.”
“But I want to make people happy.”
“You still can, you just got to make sure your making yourself actually happy too.”
It was quiet between the pair as she took in his words.
“I think you read too much,” she giggles, and Jess softly shakes his head as a quiet chuckle left his lips.
“You think?” He feels her nod. “Maybe you should try reading more.”
“Okay,” with her other hand she moves to make it fiddle with the hem of his long-sleeved shirt. “Do you think we can go somewhere else?”
Jess squeezes her hand once more, “we can go wherever you want to go.”
You weren’t sure which was worse - the dinner your mother was hosting, or the idea that you now had to put up with a whole night of Luke’s strange nephew, whom you’d never met before.
Of course, you loved your family to pieces, and you loved Sookie and Jackson; hell, sometimes you looked at Luke as more of a father than you did your actual dad, but having everyone together for what you knew would be at least a three course meal, under one roof, with Luke’s mysterious nephew from New York, just felt draining.
So, to preserve what little social battery you had left for the day, you decided to spend the time between school and dinner in your room upstairs with a good book and a cd playing from the player that sat on your dresser at a low volume. You had to change the cd twice, first from one of your mothers Bangles cds to a Smiths one, but just as you were enjoying the beginning of David Bowie’s Ziggy Stardust album (and nearly finishing up your book), did you hear the clanging of pots and pans from downstairs, as well as Sookie and Jackson’s lighthearted bickering.
You managed to bury yourself back into your book, one leg crossed loosely over the other outstretched one as you half-sat, half-laid on your bed, being mindful of your shoes so as to not get any dirt on your covers.
From downstairs, Jess was wandering around the Gilmore home as everyone else did whatever they were doing in the kitchen, internally monologuing and half-mocking their decor. He’d met Rory already, and she seemed like a nice enough girl. Enjoyed books. But he had yet to meet the third and final Gilmore girl, who so far had only been mentioned. However, as Jess scanned the various photographs on the mantle, he could hear the faint guitar of Suffragette City emanating from somewhere upstairs.
After peeking down the hallway to make sure no one was watching, Jess smirked and snuck up the stairs, into what was surely off-limits territory for someone like him. Still, he took the stairs two at a time and stealthily, managing to avoid all the places that would creak in a house like this one, despite never stepping foot inside beforehand. He followed the music down the hall, past some more paintings and pictures, to another bedroom. The door was open, and he was able to take a look inside. Posters covered most of the wall, leaving little space to show off the paint beneath them. Bookshelves occupied the wall right beside the door, and similarly to Rory’s room, they looked stuffed to the brim with books.
On the bed, facing him, was the person he assumed to be the final Gilmore girl - Rory’s twin sister. He watched intently, scanning every feature of your focused face as you scanned the final pages of the book you were reading. How your brow furrowed, eyes locked on the ink before you. The way the foot that hung off the edge of the bed was moving to the beat of the song.
Once Jess had decided that he’d been watching you long enough to constitute stalking, and how that was probably extremely creepy, he nudged the door open with a creak and stepped inside, clearing his throat and pulling his lips into a slight smirk. “Hey there, Ziggy.”
At first, you thought that your mother was finally calling you down to dinner, until you heard the unusually male - and entirely unfamiliar - voice come from the body in your doorway. Tucking a receipt into your book to mark your place, you glared over at the boy standing in your room with his hands behind his back, smugness rolling off of him in waves as he admired your room.
“You’re Jess, aren’t you.” Your flat tone seemed to amuse him.
“How nice, you already know my name. I’m flattered.”
You watched him as he walked around your room, over to the window where your desk was, trying to figure him out as he peeled back your curtains. “It’s impossible to not know someone’s name in this town, even someone who’s only been here for 28 hours.”
He chuckled. “Nice one, Ziggy. Now tell me, why aren’t you downstairs with the rest of the freakshow? I mean, they are your family, after all, aren’t they?”
You pretended to smile, but it came out as more of a grimace. “Sorry to break it to you, Mariano, but I’ve been banned from the freakshow. Apparently having apathy toward any sort of Gilmore humour is forbidden, and they’ve locked me away forever.”
“Aw, so sorry to hear that.” Jess mocked, placing a hand over his heart with an exaggerated pout. “I can’t believe they shunned such a ray of sunshine.” He smirked at your rolled eyes. “No, really, you must be a real treat at parties.”
“Quit it, Mariano. Is there a reason you came up here or did you just want to cause enough trouble to get kicked out of our beloved Stars Hollow? Because if so, you came to the right girl.”
Jess’ brow quirked. “Really?”
“Yeah,” you heaved a dramatic sigh, slipping off your bed to walk over to Jess. “But it’s like… 9pm on a Wednesday. In Stars Hollow. Even if I wanted to cause trouble, and I don’t, because I did enough of that at school today, there’s nothing to do. Everyone’s asleep, and I’m pretty sure our 24-hour mini-mart closed like, half an hour ago.”
Now it was Jess’ turn to roll his eyes. “Your sister said that already. Is there seriously nothing to do here?”
“Nope.” You shrugged, just as a thought came to mind. “Well… there is one thing…” Jess’ eyebrows raised at the prospect of having something fun to do, and you couldn’t help but laugh. “It’s not anything revolutionary, you know.”
“Still, give me something, anything, to get us out of here, Ziggy. I’m begging you. I’m being suffocated by the stale air of suburban life.”
You nodded, tapping your fingers on your thigh. “Fine, I’ll tell you. But you gotta do one thing for me.”
“What is it? I’ll do anything, I swear.”
“Stop calling me Ziggy.” You said. “It’s a stupid nickname, and although I admire the fact that you listen to David Bowie enough to come up with a nickname like that one, I hate it. Call me by my actual name.”
“Well I would, if I knew it.”
“My mother never told you my name?” You asked with a raised brow. “She never shuts up about me and Rory, I’m surprised you never caught it.”
“Apparently, I didn’t. It seems she likes talking about Rory more.” Jess shrugged. “At least, around me she does.” He barely caught the slight sag of your shoulders, the drop in your demeanour, before you picked it back up and smiled.
“Well, Jess. I’m Y/n. Y/n Gilmore.” After a pause, you looked around and snagged a sweater from the chair in the corner of your room. “Now, if you’ll follow me, let’s go have as much fun as we’re able to in Stars Hollow at night.”
Jess waited impatiently behind you as you unlatched the window by your desk and pushed it up, slipping through and holding it open for him. As he clamoured out, you grabbed the rock underneath the window and placed it on the windowsill, lowering the window so you’d still be able to get back in later.
You could still hear the tail end of the album playing as Jess looked around.
“How are we supposed to get down?”
“The trellis, obviously.” You said, carefully making your way across the porch’s roof to the trellis right next to the kitchen window. “Just don’t make much noise, this thing is right next to the kitchen’s window and if we get caught we’re screwed. Follow my lead, and run when you hit the ground, got it?”
“Got it.”
Scaling down the trellis was basically second nature to you, but you made sure to look up every once in a while to make sure Jess was doing okay. He seemed to be, which comforted you somehow. You waited at the bottom for him, making sure to stay out of view of the window to the kitchen and the edge of the porch, which were on either side of the trellis, and could possibly get both you and Jess grounded.
When he landed, he looked at you, and a dish clattered in the kitchen. You both snapped to the window, then back to each other. On instinct, you took his hand and ran toward the woods.
“Where the hell are we going?!” Jess whisper-shouted.
“Relax!” You whisper-shouted back, slowing to a stop as soon as you were hidden in the tree line. “We’re not going into the woods, dumbass. What do you think would’ve happened if we waltzed out in the open in front of the living room window?”
Jess only sighed and nodded, letting go of your hand. He let you lead him through the trees, keeping the light of the house close to you, walking around the garage and past all the cars, waiting until Babette’s house was out of sight until you stepped back onto the road.
The walk was calm and quiet, crickets and the breeze occupying you instead of chatter. After a while, when you were beginning to reach the town centre, Jess spoke up. “So, what now?”
You shrugged. “Not sure. Usually I head to the lake, bring a book, or a cd player and some headphones. I don’t normally bring people with me, you know?”
Jess nodded, lips slightly pursed. The walk continued through the town, passing by shop after shop, all of them closed for the night. You had to admit, you weren’t used to taking walks like these, out in the open. Normally you’d find whichever path kept you out of the possible sight of the townspeople, a habit you developed after Taylor snitched on you to your mother after he caught you walking to the lake by the Inn when you were 12. Still, it was nice, and even if you were caught, you somehow didn’t seem to mind it.
As the buildings were fading again and you knew you were approaching the lake, you checked your watch. 9:27pm. You sighed, and Jess looked at you. Dropping your arm, you shook your head. “Almost 9:30. They definitely have to know something’s up at home. Probably sending out a search party by now.” You told him, before shrugging. “Or, you know, miraculously, they forgot we existed and are eating Sookie’s delicious no-allergen, fourteen course meal as we speak.”
Jess scoffed. “Yeah, right. Luke might not care that much, but Lorelai? She seems like the world’s most protective parent.”
“She is.” You confirmed, sitting on your usual bench, eyes following Jess as he sat next to you. “Trust me, I love her to death, but it gets annoying sometimes.”
“Yeah, well, at least you have a protective mom.” Jess’ hands gripped the edge of the bench, his body hunched forward, making him look small, ready to run at a moment’s notice. “Mine decided I wasn’t worth the effort. Shipped me off to this… circus show without so much as a ‘sayonara, kid.’ You’re lucky.”
You frowned. Everyone knew within the hour of him arriving in Stars Hollow that Jess was a troubled kid, but even troubled kids deserved parents that cared. He was right, though, you were lucky. It just didn’t feel like it.
“I know I’m lucky, Jess, but it’s not all rainbows for me, you know.”
“Oh yeah? How?” He scoffed. “You have the perfect life, Y/n. A mom that cares, a great twin sister - hell, even Luke sings your praises.”
“Luke sings?”
Jess rolled his eyes. “You know what I mean.”
“It’s not like that all the time, Jess.” You sighed. “My ‘great’ twin sister is, apparently, so great that she has all eyes on her at all times. My grandparents are always so proud of her for being so smart and planning this amazing, expensive, studious future - they’re planning on funding it, too, from the sounds of things. I just want to live, you know?” You kicked a rock with your shoe, avoiding Jess’ concerned gaze.
“And my mother seems more concerned about her wellbeing than mine, closer to her than to me. But somehow she wonders why I’m the troubled one. I mean, I act out, I barely go to that stupid prep school because it’s so suffocating, and I got an eyebrow piercing without permission instead of taking a calculus test last month, which I’m just getting out of that punishment. Everyone’s so focused on Rory and how seemingly great she is, I don’t even remember the last time I was appreciated for anything. And don’t even get me started on my dad.”
“Sounds like these freaks don’t know a good person when they see one.” Jess told you. “You seem chill. Adventurous, too. But just because you aren’t appreciated doesn’t mean you aren’t good enough.”
You couldn’t help but smile. “You too, Jess.” The world quieted around you for a moment, stars shining off the rippling waters of the lake. “But we don’t need to be good enough for them. Just good enough for us.”
He smiled, nodding once at you. Again, you appreciated the silence with him, watching the water or the sky. It wouldn’t be long until Luke and your mother found you both, you with your head on his shoulder and one knee bent to your chest, laughing quietly at a joke he told as you continued to get to know one another. But that was later. For now, you simply sat and watched the water, wishing the moment could last for the rest of your lives.
Jess Mariano SMUT: The best friend and the boyfriend.
Tumblr media
POV: Your best friend Rory always gets what she wants as the town’s golden girl. Well, you have had enough and its time you get what you want.
WARNINGS: 18+ (minors dni); cheating; rory slander; lorelai slander; p in v intercourse; dirty talk; unprotected sex; light choking - i think that is it
AUTHOR’S NOTE: wasn’t enough jess smut for me on here. Wanna fix that! first time writing anything so please be gentle. 2k+ words
You’re at Luke’s diner trying to get some work done before your exam tomorrow. The wetness inbetween your legs was proving a great distraction to the task at hand. You had to muster every ounce of concentration to listen to what Lane and Rory were saying. The three of you were finishing up your group project for school. You had all been friends for years, but recently you had found it hard to be yourself around them.
The reason for that, was standing behind the counter, serving customers with a surly look and a quippy comment if he spoke at all. Jess.
The whole town knew about him and Rory. How could they not? Stars’ Hollows’ golden girl drew attention wherever she went. Her and Dean’s romance had been the talk of the town - the stuff of young love! And she could do no wrong. Even after she dragged Dean through hell and back with her indecisiveness before ultimately bringing him to breaking point - people still loved her.
And hey - you did too. She was your best friend. But you couldn't help but roll your eyes at the way the town fawned over her. Even though it had been happening your whole lives. Rory and her busybody, try-hard mother were the apple of the town’s eyes. And you were used to it.
But you had been surprised that Jess had fallen for it. When he arrived in town, a sullen and brooding figure, you had immediately felt drawn to him. You could sense his angst. You could feel it vibrating off of him. And lets not pretend like he wasn’t a total smokeshow. He looked like a man.
If only Lorelai and Luke weren’t so close. Then you might have gotten your chance. But as fate had it, and as it always seemed to, Rory got in there first. Lorelai invited Luke and Jess over for a welcome dinner, and he instantly became smitten with Rory’s mild manner. It only took a matter of months - and a breaking of one Dean Forrestor’s heart - until they became an item.
At first it was all rosy. Rory wouldn’t shut up about it. But you could tell. Something wasn’t quite right. Two months passed and Rory would go red every time Jess was brought up, or came to sit with your group at lunch. You asked Rory - genuinely as a friend. She would just mumble and divert the subject. Lane also pressed, but there was no budging Miss Gilmore.
It was only a month ago when you cottoned on to what the problem was. You had been wearing jeans that hugged your ass, and a top that teased just enough of your cleavage to make anyone blush. You bumped into Jess in the hallway at school. As in, physically bumped into him, as he came around the corner. He grabbed onto you out of instinct to apologise.
“Oh hi Y/N. What are you….” His eyes trailed down to your chest. You didn’t notice at first. You thought he was dazed by the surprise interaction.
“Just on my way to Spanish. Señora Castilla is making us do a book report - I’m doing 100 years of Solitude.”
“Hmm” he responded. “That’s one of my favourites. Magical realism, love, scandal - “
And then you clock. His eyes are on your tits. His hand is still on you. On the small of your back.
This man is hungry. He hasn’t been laid or anything of the sort in a while. Or at least since he has been with Rory. Jess wants you. You avert your gaze.
“Jess. I have to go.”
He moved his hand lower, testing the waters. You don’t remove it. You inhaled, trying to retain your morals. You remind yourself: We’re in the middle of the hallway. At school. He is Rory’s boyfriend. Rory is my best friend.
You repeated these over and over to yourself like a mantra, willing yourself to move. After what seems like an eternity, he whispers in your ear: “My car. 10 minutes,” and sauntered away.
And that was how it began. A whole month of some of the steamiest makeout sessions, hottest sex, and best orgasms of your life. Did the secrecy turn you on? Maybe. Did you feel bad for Rory? Perhaps. But were those moments with Jess worth it? Absolutely.
You had to be careful. Not just to avoid Rory and Lane. But Luke couldn’t know either. If he did, he would have gone straight to Lorelai and it would have been a whole thing. It wasn’t worth it. So the two of you would sneak in quickies in his car, behind Miss Patty’s studio, in the AV room at school etc.
But Luke was out tonight. Doing something for Lorelai probably. Who knows. Jess had suggested the two of you take advantage of the situation. He had recently acquired his own room at Luke’s, ever since his uncle had knocked a hole in the wall for him. It wasn’t much, but you couldn’t wait to share a bed with him, and take your sweet time worshipping his body.
“Okay Y/N, we’re off. You coming?” Asked Lane.
“Nah, I have a bunch more work to do for my college application. I will see you both tomorrow?”
Rory went over to give Jess a kiss goodbye. You couldn’t help but smirk as you saw him looking at you as she kissed his cheek. The two girls waved goodbye and left the cafe.
The minute they left, Jess pounced on your table. He summoned Cesar to take over his shift and close up.
“Cmon baby” he whispered, taking care not make it look obvious to the other customers what was going on.
You and Jess went up the stairs silently but quickly. The minute you reached the top flight and opened the door into the living quarters, Jess slammed the door shut and pressed you against it.
“Do you know how bad you are? Sitting right next to my girlfriend and giving me those ‘fuck me’ eyes all night? It was all i could do not to take you on the table right there.”
His forehead was against yours, his hands cradling your face. All you could see was him. All you could feel was him.
“Such a good boy for restraining yourself,” you cooed, trying lure him into making the first move. Each time you were together, it still felt like new. A game of chicken. Who would break first? Fresh and dangerous, yet familiar and comforting all at once. “It must have been so hard for you” you said, moving your hand towards his crotch. “Show me how much you want me” you dared.
It was too much for him. He growled and leant in to kiss you with everything he had. He was messy and sloppy with need. His teeth clashed against yours. You moaned with need. Your hands wandered to your waist, dipping under your trousers, then your panties. You started playing with your clit and panting his name back into his mouth.
You were still against the door. Jess moved his hands under your shirt, finding the valley of your chest easily as you hadn’t worn a bra today.
“Fuck” he said, breaking the kiss. “You had your tits out all day baby girl? You are such a slut, wanting everyone to notice.”
Before you could begin to formulate a reply, his mouth was on your left nipple. You sighed as he sucking with such fervour. Just as you got used to the sensation enough to say something witty to him, he bit down hard. You yelped - this was a new move from him. He obviously felt emboldened by the new setting, being in his own territory and out of a car.
Jess went to your right nipple, sucking and making the most obscene slurping noise and his hand went to your other tit. It was too much. It felt too good. You started playing with your clit with even more until he finally noticed.
“That’s my job Y/N. Its not like you to be so selfish!“ he scolded. He grabbed both your wrists and pressed himself into you, letting you feel his bulge. You whimpered at the loss of your fingers inside your wet cunt and pouted at him. He brought your fingers to your mouth.
“Suck” he said, with a devious glint in his eyes. Like a fucking wet wipe, you did as he said. You were embarrassed at first, but didn’t care. You would do anything he said at this point.
When he was satisfied you had fully cleaned your fingers, he took them out your mouth and kissed you hard and hungrily on the lips.
You saw you opportunity to the turn the tables, to take power. “Jess?” You asked innocently.
“Hmm?” He responded, trailing kisses down your neck.
“The whole point of tonight is that we have a bed for once. Let’s make the most of it.” You pushed him off you and took his hand. You walked past the door to his bedroom. He stopped you and looked at you confused.
“Oh Jess. I don’t wanna be fucked in your single bed. I want to feel all of you” you whispered in his ear, guiding him to Luke’s room and king-sized bed.
His eyes widened with realisation and need. Was this a bad idea? Almost certainly. Did he care? At this point, not even wild horses could stop him from having you. He would do anything you said. And he had to admit, there was something hot about doing it somewhere he shouldn’t.
You pushed Jess onto Luke’s bed, unzipped his jeans and pulled down his boxers. His cock sprung up immediately. It was red, throbbing and angry. You couldn’t help but drool. Jess saw this and smirked. He knew what he did to you. He pulled off his shirt, knowing it would drive you crazy.
You dived onto his cock, unable to wait any longer. You took all of him in his mouth, as he held your head there. His pubic hair tickled your nose. You stayed there for as long as possible, until your eyes watered. You took your head off, wiped your mouth, and then began bobbing up and down slowly.
Jess propped himself up on his elbows, watching you like a hawk. His tongue was sticking out as he concentrated his breathing to stop himself from blowing his load. His dark curls were pressed wet against his forehead as beads of sweat started to roll down his face.
You moved to his balls, gently sucking them into your mouth while your hand moved up and down on his rock hard member. He started moaning and rocked his hips into your hands, desperate for more.
You had him right where you wanted him. You removed yourself from him completely and clambered to sit on top of him. His cock was nestled in your folds. So close to where he wanted to be. So close to where you wanted him to be. But you decided the chase was more fun. You lowered yourself down, so that your tits were pressed against his chest.
You whispered “Can Rory make you feel this way, Jess? Does she drive you wild like I do? Can she make you moan like a bitch the way I can? Has she ever made your cock this hard?” You punctuated each sentence with a nip on his ear.
“Fuck you,” he replied, grabbing your ass and turning you onto your back so that he was on top. He pushed himself into you and started fucking you with no mercy.
Your tits were bouncing with every thrust and you were whimpering with need every time he pulled out. You snaked your arms around his back, pulling him deeper into you. You didn’t want any space between you.
“You’re such a whore Y/N. Fucking your best friend’s boyfriend. I can’t believe it turns you on so much.”
You moaned at this words, unable to deny the appeal of the whole situation.
“Fuck baby, I can feel your cunt clenching around me as i say that! You are a fucking whore Y/N, squeezing me with your greedy pussy. Such a bad fucking girl.” Jess yelps, spanking your ass.
“I am a whore Jessy, your whore, only for you” you cried, embarrassed by your pathetic display. He grinned as you used the nickname you only brought out for him when you were cock drunk beyond belief. You groaned inwardly as you couldn’t believe you had given him the satisfaction of that ego boost.
You were lost completely in Jess. He moved his hand down to your core, adding a finger into your weeping pussy, and using his thumb to toy with your clit. It was bliss.
“Jessy?” You called out.
“Hmm?” He groaned in response.
“I want you to cum inside me” you begged.
His eyes widened as a wild look came over him. Without missing a beat, he swung your legs over his shoulders and bent you in two as he fucked into you harder than before. His hand moved to your throat, gently choking you. You stuck your tongue out like a dog in heat - animalistic and beyond a care as to what was normal.
The bed’s headboard was hitting the wall with every thrust from Jess’ pelvis, sure to cause a suspect dent tomorrow. But neither of you could have given a single fuck as the you both chased your highs. The sound of skin slapping, moans and gasps were obscene.
“Jess, have you seen Luke’s toolbox? We need it and he said it might be - Oh my god!”
You both froze and turned to the door. Lorelai was face to face with you and Jess butt naked on Luke’s bed. Sorry - lets rephrase that. Lorelai walked in on her daughter’s boyfriend and best friend fucking raw on Luke’s bed.
She narrowed her eyes and hissed: “Get the fuck out.”
