"We are called Northuldra, we're the people of the sun." You heard Yelena say as you watched your people welcome the Queen and princess of Arendelle with opened arms after they found out that their mother was on of us.

You watched the whole interaction from afar, you didn't want to participate. You were still suspicious of them, the fact that their mother was one of us didn't change the fact that people from Arendelle once attacked you.

You rolled your eyes on this whole situation and went back to your teepee without noticing that the Queen of Arendelle saw you.

It was already dark when you were sitting next to your campfire near your teepee in the village. You had your baby reindeer's head placed on your thighs while you were stroking it's head.

You heard the kids laughing with the snowman that arrived with them and you had to admit that he was kinda funny. As you were stroking your baby reindeers head you heard someone clear their throat. You looked up and saw the Queen of Arendelle herself.

"May I?" She asked politely and point at the space that was next to you as if she wanted to sit down next to you.

You slowly nod your head and she sat down. That caught the ears of your baby reindeer who stood up and started sniffing her hand. She offered you a warm smile but your face remain stoic.

"Do you need something?" You asked her calmly as you were stroking your baby reindeers fur. She raised her eyebrow and giggled awkwardly before speaking again.

"I noticed that you were far from others when we came, why is that?"

Now that was your turn to raise an eyebrow. You simply shrugged your shoulders and continued stroking you baby reindeer. "It's simple, I don't trust you." You answered calmly to her question without looking at her.

That caught her a little of guard, because she thought that the Northuldra people are in peace with her, clearly you weren't. It made her confused and once again her curiosity got the best of her.

"Why don't you trust me?" She asked curiously as she tilted her head a bit to one side. You looked up at her with raised eyebrow, was she serious? It was obvious why.

"Your people betrayed us, attacked us, that's why." You said in a harsh tone yet still you remained calm. Elsa took a deep breath, she could have known that you're gonna say that. She still didn't knew the whole true but she understood you.

"Look, I apologize for any mistakes that people of Arendelle ever did, but I don't know the whole truth yet, like why is this voice calling me." Elsa said in a calm voice and gave you once again a warm smile at the end. You looked into her eyes for any signs of a lie but there was none. She was genuine.

You felt a bit sorry for her, you could see that she was desperate to find the truth she needed or the voice that was calling her. You also felt bad that you were judging her before knowing this.

"A voice?" You asked. You were also hearing some voice or sound but you thought it was the forest speaking or the wing singing, so you wasn't paying much attention to it.

"Yes, a voice! It's like singing or calling me, I-I think I'm going crazy." She laughed. Elsa was a bit nervous about telling you about the voice, it may sound really crazy to someone and she didn't wanna be judged or mocked.

"That's strange." You said as you looked up at the night sky. Sometimes you could find the answer in the stars but know it was pure chaos.

Elsa nodded slowly and looked down at her hand that was buried in your baby reindeers fur. "You are a strong and a smart woman, I know you will figure it out." You said calmly as you return your eyes back on her.

Elsa was shocked. This, this was all she needed. Words of appreciation. She loves Anna and she appreciates her help but Elsa needed to figure it out herself, not with Anna behind her all the time, putting herself in danger.

She needed to know that she can do this. She needed some credit and you gave it to her, which warmed her heart. She couldn't help but smile at you with a small blush covering her cheeks.

"Thank you, I needed this." She answered with the same wide smile and blush on her cheeks.

You return the smile and nod your head. She actually wasn't that bad and you now really hoped that she will find out the truth she seeks.

It was getting darker by each minute so you decided to go back to your teepee. As you and her stood up from the ground you said goodbye and good night to each other.

Few minutes after she turned and started walking to her borrowed teepee, you stopped her by stepping in front of her. Before Elsa could ask what you needed you kissed her cheek. Then you smile, wished her good night one more time and went to your teepee.

Elsa froze at the place for few more seconds before her face became red as a tomato. Her fingers touched the place on her cheek where you kissed her as her smile got wider.

She promised herself that after she finds out the truth, she will come back to you and take you on a proper date.

"Y/n get your ass down here!" Her roommate yelled at her as she left her room and walked down the stairs. When she got to the bottom of the stairscase Irene was waiting for her. "Finally-" She said rolling her eyes "I was beginning to think that you were never gonna make it down the staircase." she said walking towards the couch "Now hurry the fuck up, the movie's about to start." by the time she reached to couch Irene was already waiting with the blanket open. Y/n gave her a questioning look and she responded "What? I want cuddles." Y/n chuckled softly before entering the blanket.

Elsa felt herself almost trip as the ship swayed violently, the storm growing stronger. To balance herself she hold on to the side of the ship. Out the corner of her eye she saw Kristoff approach her also holding on to the side of the boat. "The captain says it's too dangerous to continue!" He shouts over the storm "Then we turn back, go back to Arrendale and choose a new course!" "Unfortunately that won't be possible!" The captain said approaching them. She let out a frustrated sigh. They had heard reports from neighbouring kingdoms say that on their way to Arrendale they saw a strange island that seemed to entrance their ships captains and cause them to drive directly into a storm, this phenomenon was the current reason as to why they were on this ship. Soon after the captain told them the bad news they heard one of the crewmates scream "Holy shit! Look to the skies!!" Their heads all whipped up looking towards the sky. What they saw made all of them freeze in fear. A bolt of lightning rushed passed them hitting directly towards the centre of the ship causing for a white blinding light to shine across the entire ship. Everyone squeezed their eyes shut in attempts to stop themselves from being blinded.

When Elsa opened her eyes she was no longer on the ship, but rather on solid ground. She frantically looked around searching for Anna, Kristoff and Olaf. The place was thick with fog which made it exceptionally difficult to find them. After a while she saw the outline of their silhouettes through the fog.

The closer she got to them the clearer their muffled voices got. "Calm down! How am I supposed to calm down, in this situation?!" I heard Kristoff's voice "I don't know, just find a way to. I'm freaking out too and we can't have both of us freaking out, so you need to man up and stay calm!" Anna said obviously frustrated by the situation. Elsa heard Olaf's voice say "Guys I think it would be very beneficial if we all just took a deep breath in-" They all took in a deep breath "And let it go." They all started letting go of their breath but Anna abruptly stopped "Let it go? Let it go! Oh my god where is Elsa!?" she asked frantic "I'm right here Anna." She said emerging from the fog. Anna ran to Elsa and embraced her in a tight hug. Anna pulled away from the hug with a concerned look on her face "What's wrong?" Elsa asked concerned "Elsa where exactly are we?" "I don't know." She answered "Where ever we are it seems to be a very wet and creepy place." Kristoff said obviously tired of standing in the rain "Umm, I don't know where we are either, but where ever it is, it seems the person that lives here is very wealthy." Olaf said looking in the opposite direction of them.

They followed his gaze and were met with the site of mansion. "Holy sh-" "Kristoff please keep it PG-13." "I'm gonna knock and ask for help." Olaf said already standing in front of the door "Woah woah woah!" They simultaneously said. Olaf paused and turned his body towards them, paused for another brief second then knocked "Olaf no!" They said "Was I not supposed to do that?"

Y/n and Irene were watching 'Jeniffer's body.' when it started raining. When it got to the scene where Jennifer kisses Needy Y/n heard Irene whisper "Damn Megan Fox is Hot." "That she is my friend." Irene turned her head towards her "What? You thought I didn't hear you?" Irene then shyly turned her head back towards the TV "But she isn't as hot as you." Irene looked at Y/n wide eyed with her cheeks a rosy color. She bashfuly turned her back towards the TV in attempts to ignore Y/n's comment but Y/n quickly grabbed hold of her chin and turned Irene's head in her direction "Irene I know you're not that emotionally dense." She said gazing deeply into her eyes. She gently removed her thumb and index finger from Irene's chin. Irene was stunned to say the least "Um-I-mm I don't know what to say." "You don't have to say anything. I was just letting you know." Y/n said tucking some of Irene's her behind her ear. This action made Irene's cheeks flush which caused Y/n to chuckle lightly.

"It's fine if you don't feel the same way." Y/n said getting up to leave. When she turned around Y/n felt Irene's hand grab on to her wrist and gently pull her back on to the couch "Y/n will you be my girlfriend?" Irene asked looking deeply into Y/n's eyes "I thought you'd never ask." Y/n swiftly leaned in and connected their lips to Irene's. The kiss was soft, sweet and filled with love.

Their kiss was then interrupted by the sound of two knocks coming from the door. The two looked towards the door confusion 'who could possibly be knocking here at this time of night?'

Y/n quickly got off the couch and told Irene to stay in the living room. She cautiously made her way to the door. As she got closer she could hear hushed murmurs behind the door. Y/n swung the door open with great force which startled the people on the other side of the door. Looking at them through the fog Y/n had a strange feeling, deja vu if you will. It was if she had seen these very silhouettes before but she couldn't quite tell from where. Slowly one of the figures emerged from fog. The first thing Y/n took notice of was the woman's dress, it had an icy blue colour and had a very specific make to it, Y/n could've sworn sh had seen it somewhere. To engrossed in her thought, Y/n hadn't noticed that the woman was now standing in front of her "Umm… Hello? Hi? Sorry…ma'am?" Y/n was broken out of her trance when the woman snapped her fingers. "Hi I am Elsa of Arrendale and if you could please tell us where we are?" Y/n looked at the woman's face in pure shock.

Hello so I thought I should explain what this account is Gonna be about and if you haven’t guessed most of my shit is gonna be about Warhammer 40k and warhammer fantasy but I will also do some other fandoms like frozen (go check out my Elsa x reader series) arcane, Star Wars, and hsr etc, etc.

Some things to note is that for my reader stories I won’t do any fem reader stuff my reasons is because 1, I’m a male 2, There’s plenty of fem reader stories of tumbler for y’all to feast on and 3, I’m guessing a good present of y’all are Guys (and yes that counts for y’all trans brothers out there) But I’ll happily do gender neutral stuff that way there’s something for everyone and of course I’ll do male reader as well.

You stride down the halls, on your way to see the queen who had just requested your assistance. “You wanted to see me my Queen?” You questions upon arriving at her room. You stand straight in the doorway, hands folded behind you as you stand before her and princess Anna. Elsa looks up from the book she and Anna were reading over with a smile.

The smile she gives you makes you want to smile back so bad that it hurts. “Y/n.” Her voice is smooth, sending a shiver through you as you fight the urge to look her over. You straighten up as much as your armor set would allow it. “I was wondering where you wondered off to.” She flashes her teeth in a wide smile.

You offer a small smile, dipping your head. “Just off looking at the art ma’am.” You inform the sisters, getting a nod from Elsa though her eyes linger on you for a moment longer. “Is there anything that you need?” You tilt your head to the side a bit.

Elsa shakes her head, pointo to a part of the large book for Anna to look at. “Nope.” She pops the p with her lips upon seeing you look at them. “I just love your company. Have a seat will you?” She gestures to the desk to the side, winking when Anna’s not looking at her.

You do as told, sitting down in the chair and watching the pair go hard at work. An hour passes before Anna takes her leave, going off to find Kristoff, claiming that it’s “date night”. Anna closes the door on the way out. Elsa places the book away on the shelf beside where you were sitting. You bite your lip with a smile as she passes you, winking at you. Without a blink of hesitation, you reach out and grab her by the waist, pulling her to sit on your lap.

She lets out a laugh, wrapping her arms around your neck as you place your hands on her hips. “Anna’s out for the night.” Elsa notes as though it wasn’t obvious already. You bury your face in her neck, kissing up and back down slowly, feeling her shudder against you.

A hum comes from you. “So I heard.” You say against the side of her neck. “What are you suggest my queen?” You pull back, seeing her face go red.

Elsa leans in close, nipping your ear. “Come back later tonight and you’ll see.” She promises before standing up. “Now, off you go good girl.” She presses a kiss to your cheek as you go to leave.

The next day Elsa walks confidently into the throne room. You were already there, standing beside her throne. Anna was sitting on the one beside hers. This look of confusion crosses Anna’s face as she looks at her sister. “Elsa.” She says, making her sister look at her. “Is that a hickey?” She questions, holding her hand over her mouth to hide the smile. Elsa’s face goes red as she finds herself looking to you then to a mirror by the thrones, seeing the marks that cover the side of her neck.

“No?”

Frozen

Pairing: Steve Rogers X Fem!Reader

Words: 1624

Warnings: Just tooth rotting fluff and a kid with a big mouth.

Summary: Fluff. Your niece is spending the night at the tower and the two of you take over the movie room for a Frozen marathon.

“Hey Carley.” You greet your best friend as you pick up your phone.

“Hey sweetie. I have a huge favor to ask you.” Carley sounds nervous.

“Okay. What’s up?” You ask.

“Nina was supposed to spend the night with a friend but she’s got a virus and now Nina can’t go and she’s heartbroken. And… and I was supposed to have Nick over for dinner and some alone time tonight. Is there… I’m sorry, but is there any way she can spend the night with you? I know I’m asking a lot.” Carley was practically babbling. Nina is her 5 year old daughter and your “niece” whom you adore.

“Hang on a second. Lemme check into it.” You had been heading for the common room in order to get some lunch and you were glad to find Steve and Bucky there. “Steve, Bucky, hey, would anyone have a problem if my five year old niece, Nina, spent the night and we took over the movie room?”

“You have a niece?” Bucky asks.

“She’s my best friend’s daughter.” You say.

“I don’t see that being a problem.” Steve smiles at you while Bucky nods.

“Thanks, guys. Hey Carley. Yeah, I can do it. Lemme talk to her… Hey Ninabug!”

“Hey Aunt Y/N. I was supposed to spend the night with my friend but now I can’t!” Nina sounds on the verge of crying.

“I’m so sorry, Ninabug! But I was hoping you could come spend the night with me at the tower. We can get pizza and popcorn and candy and take over the movie room to watch Frozen. How does that sound?”

“Can we watch Frozen and Frozen 2?” Nina asks.

“Yeah! I love Frozen 2.”

“Will I get to meet Captain America?” She asks.

You glance over at Steve and bite your lip. “Um, I can’t promise that but I’ll ask, okay?”

“He’s my favorite.” Nina says.

“Yeah, I know. Mine, too.” You smile and glance over at the guys sitting at the table. “I’ll pick you up at 4, okay? Lemme talk to mom.” You got back on the phone with Carley and cement plans.

After getting off the phone, you nervously walk back over to Steve, “Hey, um, Nina is a big fan of yours. She would love to meet you. She even has a Captain America stuffie that she sleeps with. Would you mind?”

“Uh, no, no, of course not. I’d be happy to meet her.” Steve says.

“Great! Thanks, Steve. See you guys later.” You are grinning widely as you leave.

“She didn’t realize we could hear both sides of her conversation, did she?” Bucky smirks as Steve.

“She’s just agreeing with her niece to make her happy.” Steve rolls his eyes.

“You’ve had a crush on her since she got here. Now, you know she feels the same.” Bucky winks.

“Her saying that doesn’t confirm anything.” Steve grouses.

“The smile she had when she said it does.” Bucky elbows him. “Take a chance.”

Steve narrows his eyes at his friend, “Maybe.”

A quick trip to the grocery to get Nina’s favorite snacks and drinks, a sweep of your room to clean up, and it’s time to go get her. Nina is beyond excited She chatters the entire drive to the tower. You put her things in your bedroom and change her into her Frozen nightgown and slippers. She’s clutching her Captain America stuffie as you head to the movie room.

“I’m going to order our pizza.” You say to Nina as you pull out your phone.

“Don’t!” Comes from behind you. You turn to see Steve.

“Hey! What do you mean?” You ask.

“I, uh, I already took care of it.” He gives you a breathtaking smile and then kneels down to get on Nina’s level. “Hi Nina. I’m Steve.”

“You’re Captain America!” Nina says.

“That’s right. It’s nice to meet you.” He smiles at her. “I heard you were watching Frozen. I haven’t seen it yet. Would you mind if I join you?”

“Really?” Nina grins. “Did you hear that, Aunt Y/N? Captain wants to watch the movie with us!”

“Yeah. That’s really sweet of you, Steve.” You say as he stands to his full height.

“You don’t mind, do you?” He whispers.

“No, of course not.” You smile.

“Come on. I have a surprise.” Steve takes your’s and Nina’s hands and guides you all to the movie room.

When you enter, your mouth drops. Spread across the coffee table is a buffet of pizza, popcorn, and assorted cups and bowls with the snacks you had purchased along with a selection of drinks. The couch in front of it is covered in blankets and pillows including some hanging from the ceiling creating a fort.

“Wow!” Nina screeches. “A blanket fort! Look at all the food! Candy!”

“Steve! This is amazing!” You look at him and he is grinning at you.

“You like it?” He asks.

“I love it! This is so sweet. Nina will never forget this. Thank you.” You hug him, but quickly let go. “Sorry.” You say as your cheeks stain pink.

“Hey, I don’t mind.” He smiles and moves to turn on the movie.

Nina is bouncing on the couch. You go over to her. “Okay, young lady, we don’t jump on the furniture. Let’s eat, okay?”

“Okay!” Nina says as the movie starts. She eats, occasionally sneaking a piece of candy, and becomes enthralled in the movie almost immediately.

Nina is singing and dancing around to the songs when “Let It Go” comes on, “Aunt Y/N, I’m Anna and you’re Elsa, remember? You have to sing the song!”

You sing along all the while very aware of Steve next to you. When the song is over Steve is grinning at you. “I didn’t know you could sing.”

You put a hand on your face, laughing and embarrassed. “I can hold my own. Just wait, she’s gonna expect you to play Kristoff.”

True to form, when Kristoff sings, Nina runs to Steve to beg him to sing. Unfortunately, Steve doesn’t know the words but he dances around with Nina which makes her happy. The three of you laugh, sing, and dance through Frozen and Frozen 2. Nina is exhausted by the end of it.

“Alright, Ninabug. Let’s go brush those teeth and I’ll sing you to sleep.” You say.

“Do I have to? Can we watch it again?” She begs.

“Not tonight. Tell Steve good night.” You say.

“Good night, Captain!” Nina says looking up at her hero while clutching her stuffie.

“Good night, my best girl.” He says squatting down to peck a kiss on her cheek.

“I’ll clean all this up after she’s asleep. Thanks again, Steve.” You smile at him and he smiles back warmly. As you lead Nina back to your room, you wonder at Steve’s actions tonight. You’d had a crush on the supersoldier since you’d met him, but you were just an agent. There’s no reason for him to feel the same. Nina’s teeth are brushed and she’s sound asleep before you get through the second round of “All is Found.”

You head back to the movie room to clean up the mess. Steve is still there pouring the snacks back into their packages with the credits playing in the background.

“Oh, Steve, I’ll clean this up. It was so sweet of you to do all of this.” You insist.

“I don’t mind.” Steve says.

You reach to grab some of the snacks but Steve’s hand takes your own and he spins you before pulling you into his arms.

“What are you doing?” You laugh.

“Dance with me?” He asks.

You nod looking up at him, swaying to the music playing against the credits.

“Why did you do all this?” You work up the courage to ask him.

He smiles down at you with a blush across his cheeks, “Thought I should prove myself as your favorite.”

“Oh, God, you heard that?” You blush furiously.

“Supersoldier hearing.” He chuckles.

“That’s so embarrassing.” You say.

“I’m sorry, but I was glad I heard it. You’re my favorite, too.” He smiles down at you.

Your brow furrows at his admission. “Me?”

“You.” He leans in and your lips meet. It’s a soft kiss and he pulls back after just a few seconds.

You stare at him in shock for a moment. Then, putting your hands into his hair, you pull him down for a more thorough kiss. He complies immediately and his tongue darts out requesting entry. You open to him and he explores your mouth, pulling you flush against him.

“Aunt Y/N, are you gonna marry him?” Nina’s voice breaks through your kiss induced haze.

You separate from Steve quickly. “Nina! You’re supposed to be in bed.”

“I woke up and you weren’t there.” Nina whines.

“I was cleaning up our mess.” You say.

“No, you weren’t. You were kissing Captain America. That means you’re getting married, right? Anna kisses Kristoff and they’re getting married.” Nina says.

“N-no, Nina. We’re not getting married.” You chuckle and can’t look at Steve. “Come on, kiddo. Back to bed.” You take her hand.

“Wait, Nina.” Steve says. “I need your help.”

“What can I do, Captain?” She says wide-eyed.

“Convince your aunt she should go on a date with me.” Steve smirks up at you.

“She’ll go with you. She told mommy you were the hottest man alive.” Nina says with childlike innocence.

“Nina!” You cover your face with both hands

“Well, she’s the most beautiful woman alive, so I guess we were made for each other.” Steve smiles up at you. “Tomorrow night?”

“Tomorrow night.” You nod with a smile before leading Nina back to your room.

Jealousy, also referred to by many as the green-eyed monster, is the act of feeling or showing a resentful suspicion that one's partner is attracted to or involved with someone else.

You had never really been the jealous type. Never. However, something about this situation was very different. Could it be because this was not an event you were familiar with? Could it be because the lady affectionately laughing while placing her hand on your boyfriend’s chest, was capable of buying most of your possessions, if not all of them, with half of her paycheck? Or could it be because your insecurities about how you looked, despite being told you looked gorgeous by your boyfriend, suddenly decided to make themselves known?

Whatever the reason was, you were jealous. And that was that.

Now the question is, how did you get here in the first place?

“Don’t fret. You look gorgeous, honey! “ you boyfriend exclaimed, finally exhausted by the number of questions you asked about how you looked, while you were having a mini freak out in front of the full body length mirror in your shared bedroom. Jake genuinely thought you looked amazing in anything you wore and it irks him whenever you don’t acknowledge that as well.

Noticing the hint of expiration in his tone, you apologized.

“I’m sorry. I just...” you paused, sighing, as you tried to find the right words. “I just don’t want to let you down. There are going to be a lot of extremely beautiful women there and I don’t want to stick out like a sore thumb. Especially since this is going to be the first event we’re going to together.”

With a light chuckle, Jake pressed his lips to your forehead.

“You worry too much. You look wonderful and I don’t care about all the other women because you are the only beautiful woman I’ll see.” He said, cupping your face his big hands and stroking your cheeks with his thumbs.

You smiled and tried your best not to cry because of how sweet Jake was being. You weren’t ready to mess up your make up because it was time consuming and quite expensive.

“I love you.” You finally uttered after a moment of silence, consisting of you two staring into each other’s eyes.

“I love you too, baby. Now come on. We’re gonna be late.” Jake murmured before taking your hand and tugging you out of the room and out of your shared apartment towards the rented car that was waiting for you outside.

Half an hour later, you both found yourself in the midst of many well-known actors, directors and producers. Jake pulled you along as he greeted the people he recognized and introduced you to them, if they hadn’t met you already.

“Hubby!” you heard a familiar voice call out, over the loud party music that was playing. You knew that voice quite well. Maybe too well.

Tom Holland that proud owner of the voice, accompanied by Zendaya, made his way to you and Jake.

“Well, well, well isn’t it my prodigal husband.” Jake joked as he embraced to in a side hug. Meanwhile you and Zendaya, who has become close friends the moment you met each other some time ago, smothered each other with kisses as you giggled in unison.

The four of you spent the next hour cracking jokes, while catching up with each other’s lives. That was until you were interrupted

“Jacob,” a feminine voice purred “I haven’t seen you in forever!”

All the attention moved to where the voice came from.

“Joey! Hi! It has been a while.” Jake responded, hugging her.

Zendaya looked at you with a raised eyebrow as ‘Jo’, as Jake affectionately called her started conversing with him.

You shrugged in response, answering her silent question. You had no idea who this newcomer was.

“Oh how could I forget?! Tom, Z, Y/N, this is Jolene, an old friend.” Jake introduced.

Jolene? How fitting. You suddenly felt Dolly Parton’s pain when she sang her song with the same title as this lady’s name.

Jolene giggled. “Old friend? Is that what you call all your exes now?”

“You knew what I meant, Jo.” Jake rolled his eyes playfully.

She let out more giggles.

You opened your mouth to say ‘hi’ but you were interrupted by Jolene talking again.

“Oh my god, Jacob! You absolutely have to meet someone.” She pulled Jake away from your group and towards whoever she wanted him to meet.

You blinked rapidly, trying to process what just happened.

“That was…interesting.” Tom deadpanned, earning an elbow to the ribs from Z. “Hey!” he protested rubbing the spot he was hit.

You raised your head, looking up at the ceiling. “Y/N, what are you doing?” Z asked in confusion.

“I wanna cry but my foundation cost me thirty-five dollars.” You muttered, trying to blink away the tears that were forming.

Not today, Satan, not today.

Tom’s snort quickly morphed into another exclamation of pain when he got elbowed at the same spot again by the same person.

“Aww hun, you don’t need to cry. It’s not worth it?” Z asked rubbing your back soothingly.

“His ex does seem kinda bossy, to be honest.”

Z gasped, “Thomas Stanley Holland, the next time you do something that will make the situation worse, I. Will. End. You.”

“It’s alright, Z” you sighed, as you fished through your purse to find anything to help you with keeping the tears as bay, “He’s right.”

“I think I’m going to talk to him.” Tom said, leaving before any of you could react.

Z turned to you “Y/N-“

“No, no.” you butted in “It’s okay! I’m okay! I’m just going to head home.”

Oh boy, were you lying.

Who were you kidding? She was beautiful! All Jake’s exes probably were the same. What did he see in you anyway? Why did you decide to come here at all? Ugh! Jolene, please don’t take my man.

Finally, bringing your head down to its original position, you dubbed your eyes gently and put your brave face on and made your way to the exit.

You were not going to cry here. You were not going to cry here. You were not going to cry-

“Y/N!” You heard you boyfriend’s voice shout from afar.

You stood still, taking a deep breath.

You can do this Y/N. Elsa was able to do it. Don’t forget. Conceal, don’t feel. Don’t let him know.

“Y/N.” you heard him again, only closer this time.

You opened your eyes and there he stood, right in front of you, in all his handsome glory.

“Where are you going, love?” Jake asked with a slight tilt of his head.

“You seemed very much occupied with that Jolene of yours so I decided to head home.”

Jake raised an eyebrow.

And now he knows. Fuck.

“Really? That sounds like-“

“Yes, Jacob. I am jealous because she’s extremely pretty and you are probably still attracted to her.”

Let it goooo, let it goooo. Can’t hold it back anymore. Damn, you feel so much like Elsa right now. Why on earth were you thinking about Frozen anyway?!

“Babe!” he laughed, stunned at your revelation. “What did I tell you before we left the apartment?”

You sighed.

“I know it’s just… I don’t feel like I’m enough for you sometimes and coming here just makes me feel like I’m not enough for you all the time.”

Jake shook his head, sighing, and pulled out his phone without a word.

“What are you doing?” you asked, curious.

“I’m getting us an Uber.”

“Why?”

“It looks like someone has to have all her insecurities fucked out of her.”

You blanched and looked around.

“Jacob!” you whisper-yelled between clenched teeth looking around to check if anyone had heard what he said.

He placed a hand on each of your shoulders. “I love you so, so, so much. Please don’t let anyone including yourself make you think otherwise. You won my heart fair and square and you own it, baby. Besides, Jolene is married anyway. ”

“What?! Really?”

“Yeah. “He chuckled.

“She took me to meet her wife. Honestly, it was quite boring. I felt like I was third wheeling. I’m glad Tom saved me.”

“I’m sorry.” You pouted.

“It’s alright, babe.” He said offering his hand which you took “Come on, let’s get of here.”

Recently, you'd been looking for another job to supplement your stint as a fitness instructor. You loved your schedule, but you also felt like you still had too much idle time. Plus, paying for rent was more difficult ever since your roommate moved out. The hard part was finding a job that wouldn't infringe on your hours at the fitness studio. Most job openings wanted you either early in the mornings, or at night: the same hours that you taught classes.

But your friend Jongin, another instructor, had found you a promising job.

"My friend's been looking for a babysitter for a while. She's a great kid, you'll love her."

"I don't know, Jongin." You rubbed the back of your neck worriedly. "I don't have a lot of experience with kids."

"Can you hold a conversation?"

"Uh... sure? I guess?"

"Do you know anything about the Frozen movies?"

You thought back to your day at the movies with Chanyeol, both of you blasting the soundtrack in the car on the way home. "I know a good amount."

"Then you're perfect for the job! I really think you can do this, Y/N. You teach adults, how different can it be?"

"They're adults, Jongin, not a... how old is this kid?"

Jongin squinted, looking up as he thought. "Six?"

"Six?!" You slumped against the floor of the empty fitness room, back hitting the mirror behind you. "I don't think I've talked to a kid since I was one."

Your friend squatted beside you, a pout on his lips as he thought of how to cheer you up. "Hey, if I can take care of her, you can too."

"You have a niece and nephew, Jongin. You easily have more experience than me."

"Okay, then how about this — try it out for one day, and I'll be there to help? Just so you get a feel for if you want to do this or not."

"Your friend would be okay with letting a stranger play with their kid for a day?"

Jongin shrugged. "I can vouch for you! He'll trust you because he trusts me, Y/N. Promise."

You sighed, stretching your legs out in front of you. One day as a test trial didn't seem too bad... "Okay. But you promise to be there for the entire time that day?"

Jongin nodded emphatically, bangs flopping against his forehead. "Yixing and Xinyue are going to love you, I know it."

You weren't sure what you were expecting, but it certainly wasn't this.

Jongin greeted his friend with a hug, both men all smiles and laughter. You innocently looked over Jongin's friend, eyes lingering on his deep-set dimples and the sleeve of tattoos decorating his left arm. Some of them appeared to be an arrangement of flowers, delicate petals in pastel hues dancing across his skin. A larger piece curled up his arm until it disappeared under his sleeve. He also had soft, tousled black hair that almost seemed curly. Upon first glance, he couldn't be much older than you. Jongin didn't tell you that his friend was this attractive.

"Y/N, this is Yixing."

You flinched, gaze immediately jumping up to Yixing's face. The man extended a hand to you, shaking it firmly when you accepted. "Nice to meet you, Y/N. Jongin told me you're a good friend of his."

"Yeah, we've been working together for a while. Um, I really appreciate this. Jongin had nothing but good things to say about you and your daughter."

"He better." Yixing chuckled, dimples reappearing and making him look even more youthful — if that was even possible. "Come in, Xinyue's just watching a movie."

"Frozen 2?" Jongin asked as you took your shoes off.

"Third time already this week." Yixing shook his head good-naturedly. "Well, at least I know what kind of birthday to throw for her this year."

Both men burst into laughter, falling into a familiar camaraderie. You followed them into the living room, where a small girl sat on the floor only a few feet away from the TV. Her long hair was plaited into two braids, mismatched hair ties adorning each one.

"Xinyue," Yixing called out. "You're going to hurt your eyes if you sit that close."

"I'm not," the girl countered. She turned around, the frown on her face instantly replaced with a wide grin. "Uncle Jongin!"

Jongin crouched down with his arms open as the girl got up, braids bouncing as she came over for a big hug. He peppered her face with kisses, even as she giggled and tried to escape.

"Jongin's going to be here today while I go work for a bit," Yixing told his daughter. "And he brought a friend too."

Xinyue perked up at that, staring at you over Jongin's shoulder. You didn't know what else to do, so you waved. "Hi, Xinyue, I'm Y/N."

The six-year-old looked from you to her dad. When Yixing nodded, she waved back. "Hi," she said shyly, chin resting on Jongin's shoulder.

"You know, Y/N loves Frozen too," Jongin said in a stage-whisper.

Xinyue looked at you with more interest this time, and you nodded in agreement. "I love Olaf! Who's your favorite character?"

"Elsa!" the girl replied immediately. "Did you see when she was riding the water horse, and when she stopped all the pink fire, and when — "

"Xinyue," Yixing interrupted, trying to hide his laughter. "You're going to run out of breath if you keep talking that fast." He leaned over to kiss her on the forehead, playfully tweaking an ear. "Why don't you go finish the movie with Jongin while I talk to Y/N? She can watch it with you in a bit."

"Okay!" Xinyue jumped up and pulled Jongin over to the couch, launching right back into her passionate rant about Frozen.

Yixing sighed, a fond smile on his face. "I apologize in advance if it gets to be a bit much."

"Oh no, it's no problem," you replied sincerely. "I forgot how cute kids are when they talk about the things they love."

"Me too, but there's only so many times I can talk about Frozen," Yixing said, eliciting laughter from you. He led you over to the kitchen, where he had written down a few reminders.

"Today's my day off, but I'm heading in for a few extra hours. One of my students had to reschedule their lesson."

"You're a teacher?"

"Yeah, I teach kids music. I mean, during the day, I go around to different schools and drop by for an hour each. But I do one-on-one guitar and piano lessons with kids and adults on the side too."

Your mouth fell open in surprise. "Wow, that's really amazing. I've got a lot of respect for anyone with musical talents, it's hard enough for me to just stay on key when I'm singing."

Yixing's cheeks turned a light pink as he grinned. "I'm sure you could learn something if you ever wanted to. Most of my students start out learning the basics, and they've all been making a lot of progress. I've been doing more hours with some of them, but that also means I have less time with Xinyue." He glanced over to the living room, his daughter now singing her heart out along with the music. "She used to be in the after-school program, but she hated it so much, I felt bad. Her mom can't pick her up either, since she lives a few hours away."

Upon hearing those words, you couldn't help but look down at Yixing's hand. No ring to be seen at all. Was he raising Xinyue by himself?

"I know you haven't agreed to anything yet," Yixing continued. "But I'm honestly so thankful that you're here today, that you're considering helping us out. I think Xinyue likes you already."

"I'm glad, I like her too."

A look of relief came over Yixing's face, the man nodding to himself before pulling his reminders over. "I should be home in time for dinner, but if she gets hungry, she's free to any of the snacks in here. But, she can't have too much, especially if it's candy. She doesn't have any allergies, but she avoids tomatoes like she's allergic to them." Yixing shook his head with a smile. "Here's my phone number, and just in case I'm not answering and it's an emergency, here's her mom's number."

You took the list of reminders when Yixing offered it to you, reading over everything one more time. "What about homework?"

"We just finished it before you guys came. It's really not that time consuming, the hardest part is just getting Xinyue to finish it all before playing," he said with a grin.

After both of you went over any remaining questions, Yixing went to say goodbye to his daughter. "I'll be out for a bit, Xinyue. We'll eat dinner when I get back."

"Okay, Papa." Xinyue kissed her dad on the cheek before turning her attention back to the movie.

"I'll see you guys later. Thanks again, Y/N."

"No problem!" You watched as Yixing put his shoes on, giving you a final wave before he walked out the door with his bag and guitar case.

You went to join the others on the couch, both of them taking up most of the space as they sprawled over it. "Could you two scoot over a little bit, please?"

Jongin and Xinyue immediately moved over, leaving enough space for you to sit on Xinyue's other side. "What's happening now?" you asked her.

"The rock giants are chasing Anna," the girl whispered back to you.

"Ooh, this part always scares me."

"It's not real!" Xinyue giggled, and laid a hand on your arm.

"Still," you pretended to be afraid. "Will you keep us safe?"

"Yes!" The girl leaped up off the couch, pretending to be Elsa as she ran around the room, you and Jongin watching in amusement.

After the movie, you made a few sandwiches for the three of you to snack on. Xinyue had talked your ear off about what she did with her friends during recess, and how one of her best friends even saw Elsa and Anna at Disneyland. When you asked her what she liked to play at home, Xinyue literally pulled you over to her room, showing you her dolls — Frozen, of course.

"Who do you wanna be?" she asked.

Judging by your conversation earlier and how Xinyue was practically glued to the screen every time Elsa appeared, you knew who not to pick. "I want to be Anna!"

Xinyue beamed, holding the doll out to you. "Okay! You can be Anna, and I'll be Elsa!" She glanced over at Jongin, who had followed the two of you. "Uncle Jongin, you can be the rock people."

"The rock people? The trolls?!"

You couldn't help the giggles that escaped, Xinyue joining in.

"Oh, very funny. I didn't bring Y/N here so you guys could tease me," Jongin pretended to sulk.

"Shh, the rock people don't come in right now," you said with a final giggle. "Okay, Queen Elsa. Where are we?"

Yixing came home a few hours later to the sounds of excited squeals and shouts from Xinyue's bedroom. He smiled to himself as he walked down the hallway, peering into the open room. You were lying down on the carpeted floor, a mess of giggles as Xinyue lay sprawled on top of you. When you tried to get up, Xinyue wrapped her little arms around your neck, trapping you in a hug. Yixing watched as you stared down at the child in your arms, eyes full of wonder. It was endearing to see how well the two of you got along, even in such a short amount of time. He knocked on the doorframe, smiling when you and Xinyue immediately looked up at him.

"How's it going?"

"Uncle Jongin went home early," Xinyue replied.

You sat up, Xinyue still hanging onto you. "Someone at the fitness studio called out sick, and Jongin got called in. But we've been fine, just playing lots of games."

"Papa, Y/N and I were playing hide-and-seek, and she didn't find me in the laundry basket!"

"In the laundry?" Yixing came over and picked his daughter up, swinging her around until she was squealing with laughter. "You're going to need a bath earlier today, if you were hiding in stinky clothes," he teased.

"Papa, you're stinkier!"

Yixing opened his mouth as if to come back with a retort, but he set Xinyue back down instead with a huff. "You're getting too big for me to pick you up nowadays. Soon, you'll have to be picking me up."

Xinyue took that as a challenge, both arms wrapped around one of Yixing's legs as she heaved and pulled, to no avail. Yixing looked to you, where you had been watching them in amusement. "Do you want to stay for dinner?"

"I don't want to be a bother," you began.

"You won't be. Both of us are happy to have you stay longer. Right, silly monkey?" he addressed his daughter.

"I'm not a monkey, I'm a princess!"

"Yes, Princess Xinyue. Come on, let's go make some food for our guest."

Yixing wouldn't hear of you helping out in any way, and so you simply watched as he took charge in the kitchen, with Xinyue as his assistant. You were surprised to find that not only was he kind, musically talented, and a loving father, but he managed to cook up a delicious meal as well.

"Thanks," he said sheepishly when you complimented him on his food. "I really had to learn how to cook for Xinyue's sake. You wouldn't believe the number of times we had mac and cheese in a week when she was younger."

"Honestly, I've done that too — and I'm just cooking for one."

"You're always welcome to stay for dinner if you want. I mean, if you end up wanting to stay on as Xinyue's babysitter?" Yixing waited hopefully, chewing down on his bottom lip as he anticipated your answer.

Truth be told, you hadn't expected to get along with Xinyue so well. But after only a couple of hours, the little girl had you wrapped around her finger. You couldn't imagine not taking the job — especially when you thought about how much Yixing interested you.

"I'd love to take the job, Yixing."

"Really? That's great!" He nudged Xinyue's arm gently with his elbow. "Y/N's going to be spending more time with us from now on, like when I have to work. What do you think?"

Xinyue chewed on her food thoughtfully, eyebrows drawn low over her round eyes she mused. "When you come over, can we go to the park?"

Yixing choked back a laugh as you grinned. "Yes, of course. It'll give us more space to play Frozen, too."

The six-year-old threw her hands up in the air, fork and all. She managed to fling a few pieces of food onto the floor behind her, much to Yixing's distress and your enjoyment.

You could already feel how much change and excitement these two were bringing into your life.

Yixing was rushing home, hair matted against his forehead as he sat in traffic. Although he had asked you to stay a bit later today while he attended a student's recital, he hadn't expected to be this late. It was already time for Xinyue to go to bed, and he hoped that you weren't having a hard time. Your last reply to his texts had been about twenty minutes ago, and Yixing was growing more anxious with each passing second. If Xinyue was tired and cranky, there was no telling what he would be walking into.

He made it home as quickly as he could, leaving his belongings in the car as he ran up to the house and unlocked the door. "Y/N? Xinyue?" he called out. His nervousness only continued to grow when he was met with silence. Yixing closed the door behind him, kicking his shoes off before heading to Xinyue's room. Pushing the bedroom door open, he was about to speak when he was stunned into silence.

Xinyue lay in bed, already dressed in pajamas and fast asleep. But what was even more surprising was the fact that you were curled up next to her, both of you hugging each other as you slept.

Yixing crept closer, lips curving upwards at the sight. It was only a month since you had become a part of their daily lives, and yet he couldn't imagine not having you around — not just for your help, but for the energy and cheer that you brought with you. You weren't just the babysitter, you were a close and trusted friend.

But recently, Yixing had been hoping that maybe, there was something more. He wasn't oblivious to your stares, sneaking a few of his own when you weren't looking. The two of you got along extremely well — he hadn't felt this close to anyone in a long time.

Yixing gently nudged your shoulder, whispering your name softly so as not to wake Xinyue up.

Your eyes flew open, still groggy and disoriented until you realized that it was Yixing waking you up, that you last remembered falling asleep after reading Xinyue a story. "Oh my god," you blurted out, your hand instantly covering your mouth as you turned to look at Xinyue. Thankfully, the girl continued to sleep.

"Hey, don't worry," Yixing whispered back. "Let's get you out of here first though."

You nodded as Yixing carefully moved Xinyue's hands off of you, settling them carefully onto the bed and pulling the covers over her.

"Thanks," he murmured as you turned off the light. The two of you silently made your way to the living room, the space bathed in the soft light of the ceiling light hanging overhead.

"I'm sorry," Yixing spoke up. "I didn't think the recital would run this late, and I wasn't expecting you to even do all of this. I've felt horrible the past week, since you've been staying longer and helping out more. Sometimes I feel like you're babysitting both of us."

You laid a hand on his shoulder, a sign of comfort. "Yixing, for the hundredth time, I'm not your babysitter. You're more than capable of taking care of yourself and Xinyue. Look at how well you were doing before I even came into the picture."

Yixing looked away, touched by your kind words. "But still," began. "I feel like I'm taking advantage of your generosity. Can I make it up to you? Maybe buy you a meal or something?"

"You don't have — "

"Please, Y/N. Just as a way to say thank you."

Sighing, you gave in. "Okay, Yixing. Thank you."

"Thank you. I mean it. How does Monday night sound?"

"Sure, after you come back from work? Xinyue's coming with us too?"

Yixing hesitated, mustering up the courage to say what he wanted. "Actually, um, maybe just the two of us?"

A few wrinkles appeared on your forehead. "But who's going to take care of Xinyue?" you asked in confusion.

"I can ask Jongin or another friend to stay with her for a bit."

"So... this is a date?"

"Yeah," Yixing stammered out. "Unless it makes you feel uncomfortable, then we can just call it off or — "

You held a finger up against his lips, smiling to yourself when he instantly fell silent. "Yixing, I'd love to go out for dinner with you. It's a date, then."

Yixing felt relief well up inside, unable to stop the smile on his lips as he repeated your words.

"It's a date."

A/N: as always, whenever I can’t think of names for new characters, I go back back to things that the members have acted in haha 😂😂😂😂 this time, yixing’s daughter is named after a character from “the mystic nine”! I watched the whole series back when it came out and people were subbing it here on tumblr, and writing this gave me the urge to go back and rewatch it (even though it’s like what 40 episodes long? and I have a short attention span LOL)

edit: changed pairing from “reader” to “fem reader” because I forgot what I used gender-specific pronouns. i’ve been trying to keep things gender ambiguous, but to label fics correctly if the character’s coded as female
