Animation commission I guess...

Um... ha-ha, okay, it has been stuck in my head for the whole month, but if I will keep it any more I will explode, I need to busy my brain even more I'd like to take an animation commission. Like, a fully colored, shaded, with lightning, with in-betweens, with the clean line (and background). Up to 5 seconds depending on what you want to get I guess the price may start from 250$ and be higher or less depending on complexity of the details, character or movement (<- of course everything will be negotiated) I never took such commissions before so please be patient with me since I might spend even months ha-ha (really wanna beat this fear of taking something more complex) But I will do my best since it will be first experimental time for me 1. Payment via Boosty after acceptance of the sketch animation (very rough idea) 2. I think I can draw mostly anything (but won't 18+, guro and I can decline something if I feel like I will not like to do it) 3. You must have a reference of the character, I'm not ready to work with something that doesn't have a ref to start working right away 4. Please, properly think of what you'd like to see, I will not make 3 different rough animations of different ideas because you suddenly had another idea ;~;; 5. Note me in dms if you'd like to take commission... (I'd like to move to discord later since it's more comfortable in here) Uh... I have only this as a more or less proper example (it was based on amazing storyboard by yeye23)

Good grief by Bastille is Zartemis from Artemis' perspective after Zoë died.

They were celebrating. They'd just completed a quest, after all. They'd just stopped atlas and off to celebrate the solstice. Dancing and laughing.

She has never been fond of Olympian parties, but she felt sick. She just needed a moment, for everything to stop. To stop going around like nothing happened, how could the flowers be blooming, didn't they know? That the light of the world had withered? How could the world keep spinning? Hadn't it realised that its core had been crushed by fate's most cruel hand?

Why are you always so grumpy— Apollo always attempts to get her to mingle at parties, she never liked spaces that were far too crowded and loud, but everything was too much, all the voices blurring together and his voice just a distant foreign sound.

He offers her a drink, she turns around walking away, he's booing, she feels disoriented, she's confused— she's never felt like this, she's a hunter. She breathes rapidly, fight or flight. Someone shoves her, she snaps, someone's yelling, she keeps walking. Thunder. Too loud, too much. In a flash of light she's gone, not too sure where yet but everything is quiet. The most lucid part of her mind rationalizes there will be a fight tomorrow like an after thought. She's too numb to think.

Omar had said that Andhera is aro ace. Specifically, he has stated that Andhera 100% looked up the definition of romance on the internet, right? With that understanding, Omar’s character choice for Andhera makes me buzz.

When Andhera was “flirting” with Chirp and Squak, their dialogue was so stilted. Wrong. Incomplete pick-up lines because Andhera didn’t understand them. Telling Theodore that Squak needs sex in his wounds because Andhera doesn’t understand what is sexy about being injured but if Squak likes it, he’s going to throw themself into the wing-boy position with gusto. Andhera’s letters to the cousins are carbon copies because they expand the extent of his learned flirting knowledge.

But when they interact with Binx—god, when they interact with Binx—every little thing he does is laden with unintentional, all encompassing romance. Hands touching quietly in the darkness as he gives up glory for their court in honor of helping Binx. Peering in their eyes and recognizing that Binx’s eyes are Gwen’s and Gwen’s eyes are Binx, thus innately knowing her identity. Touching Binx’s shoulder as they lean in close to accept her offer of joining their court. That goddamn, off the cuff, tide pool letter.

Andhera’s interactions with Binx are just so fucking romantic. And I recognize that each time Andhera goes to do any of the above moment, they do so “innocently” to quote Omar. Yet, each one is charged with so much love, consideration, and kindness that it’s ultimately the most romantic thing he could have done.

I think it says so much about what romance is. What we crave in our romantic relationships. And what often gets missed when your sole focus is lust. (Not to say that I think lust is morally wrong. This world has space for both. It’s comforting to see a relationship based so fully on love, acceptance, kindness, and kinship.)

Regency is a popular genre for a reason. And Omar dove in with Andhera.

Hey, so here’s a thought.

In the end of DD S2, Karen told Frank he’s dead to her if he kills Schoonover, and then he did, and they didn’t talk until he came to her looking for help with Micro. Because she doesn’t like him killing people, even if they’re bad guys.

In her apartment, she agrees to help him after he nods that his “business” is finished. He gets a hug, and Karen is ready to be friends again.

At the river, she gives him info about Micro against her better judgement, because she doesn’t want to get the guy killed, but at least Frank promises that Micro has nothing to fear from him if he’s not dirty and not dangerous.

When they meet by the bridge again, Karen might be suspecting his involvement in Wolf’s death, but at least he tells her how he saved Madani and — when she specifically asks — he soothes her concerns, tells her Micro is alive.

When she gets all emotional is when she realises Frank is preparing for war again, he is going to kill again. It kind of mirrors the moment at Schoonover’s cabin — Karen knows what he’s gonna do and asks him not to. But this time, Frank asks what the alternative is, tries to explain his rationale, his fears, how this shit needs to be stopped in general, and the bad guys need to be punished, and he needs to be 100% sure this shit never spreads to Karen.

So what if that smooch and the ‘Please’ is not only about Karen not touching anything Kandahar-related, but — not turning her back on him when the killing starts again?
