Portrait of a Volturi mate - Felix

I am the human mate to an extremely strong Volturi guard.

I liked working out. My gym membership, unlike those of so many, was well-used, and I was certainly not on the lookout for dates. I wasn't interested in growing obscenely huge muscles either. My goal was to increase my strength. The fitness center in Pisa was adequate for my needs, even if it was a ways from Volterra, where I lived.

It was a late Friday night, Fridays being when I preferred to work out. I'd get done with work earlier, so was able to grab a quick meal and head to the gym for more than just a couple hours. It tended to be a bit busier though, and the pick up attempts could be quite annoying. This night was the worst ever.

Some man sauntered over to me while I was working with the free weights. He offered to spot me if I wanted to work with the barbells, but all I wanted was to be left alone. This was my last workout before heading home. But he would not let me alone, buzzing around like some drone bee. He finally left, and I didn't give him another thought.

As I walked out to my car, the same man accosted me before I was able to unlock the door and get inside. Apparently, he didn't appreciate being refused. I kicked him in the shins and tried to knee him in the groin, basically using every trick I knew to fight him off.

That was when I met Felix, someone strong and impressive in more ways than one. 

My attacker was lifted from my body and tossed more than fifteen feet from me. He hit the concrete, hard, and lay still. I sat up, in tears, more from anger at my own weakness than fear. A gloved hand reached down to me in the darkness. I took it first, then looked up to see a very tall, burly and handsome man with eyes as black as the night sky. It was too dark to see well, so I gave it no thought. I was still shaken and this man asked me if I was alright.

"Do you need a physician?" he inquired.

"No, thank you. You got to me before he did anything." I was picked up off the ground and held by strong arms.

"My name is Felix. I'm just glad I was able to help you." He saw my tears before I had wiped my face, and bent, looking up into my face. "Are you sure you're alright?" HIs concern seemed genuine.

"Yes, I'm just angry I wasn't able to fight him off myself. That's why I work out to begin with."

He smiled at me, perhaps impressed with my desire to be strong, when he already was. I had no idea at the time just how strong he was.

Felix drove me home, wanting to see me there safely. He told me lived in Volterra too, so it was not out of his way. When we reached my small cottage, he parked the car in the short driveway and walked me to my door.

"May I see you again? I can help you work out if you'd like. Show you a few tricks maybe."

"Yes, I'd like that, "I replied with a smile, eager to see him again.

He then bent low to kiss my cheek, and with a nod, he turned and walked into the night.

He came back as promised, and we would go to the gym and work out together, after he bought a membership. I never saw my attacker again, probably for the best, since later in our relationship and when I knew what he was, Felix admitted he would have killed the man.

Now that Felix and I were officially mated together, we'd work out in the training room of the castle, not only with each other, but with Demetri and Santiago joining us. I've learned a great deal about strategic fighting where strength is not an issue. One day, I will be a vampire and I'll be stronger than any human. That really pleases me, and I can't wait to see what I'll be able to break. Felix merely laughs at my excitement, not in a derogatory way. He sometimes calls me his powerful little warrior. At 5feet 8inches, I'm hardly small, but compared to his build, I guess I can accept "little" when combined with "powerful" and "warrior".

I love Felix so much though. In other circumstances, I might have feared him, but when he looks at me, his eyes soften and his smile never fails to warm my heart. His arms hold me gently, but he enjoys picking me up and speeding around the castle. I said when I'm able to do this on my own, I'll be hitting a few walls. Felix swears he will teach me how to stop before that ever happens.

As far as his desires go, he will pick me up and toss me over his shoulder when he wants to bed me. I burst out laughing all the way to our room, knowing we'll be quite occupied with each other for at least five hours. Felix tells me it will be longer once I am able to withstand his strength with matching strength of my own. I plan on holding my powerful mate to that promise.

I was into building up my body to become stronger, but instead I'll be a vampire with that built in, and with the man I'll love forever.

I think one of my favourite achievements is to make so many of you fall in love with dear Felix, for I am a champion of 'Felix is Husband Material'. And yes, you are absolutely right; Demetri at this point does indeed give me regency vibes. It truly is fortunate that his favourite author is Jane Austen. And Caius... it is no secret that we are fond of our dear Volturi general on this blog.

summary: Liza, Felix and Demetri have been sent to Galicia, Spain to find out more about an old vampire. But it’s late summer and the days are sheer endless - and so is the time that has to pass before they can leave the house. Time to learn some salsa.

Spain is a beautiful country - especially in late summer. The mostly dry air makes it rather easy to breathe in the heat. The seemingly endless masses of tourists are finally travelling home and there are a few quieter weeks before the first winter tourists arrive, looking for a place to stay warm and cozy while their home countries drown in rain and snow. They come to Spain to escape the depressing grey sky, the short days and long nights. In late summer, the nights are still warm enough to even go swimming in the ocean - not that the temperature would have been a big concern for three vampires anyways.

Liza, Felix and Demitri have been sent to Galicia by Aro. Their order is to find out more about a male vampire that’s supposed to be in the area. He is rumored to be several hundred years old and to have explicit information on the Spanish royals. Aro has also heard that this vampire is not too friendly towards strangers and - that’s where Liza’s power comes into picture - is said to be one of the last dozen people who still speak an old Galician dialect.

Aro is not taking any chances.

So, he sent Liza.

Because that’s what she does: Whenever Liza talks, the recipient will, without a doubt, hear her words in their mother tongue. No matter how ancient, how rare, how complicated or hard to pronounce the language is. While Liza always speaks her own first language, German, the received sound will differ. This has caused quite some surprised reactions so far and Liza loves seeing people get excited and emotional about hearing the language their mother once spoke. Especially older vampires.

Aro had provided the trio with a nice small finca near Oia, on Spain’s north-west coast. It’s not exactly a tourist hotspot like other Spanish cities, so their area is rather quiet. Just like the long days in the finca.

With a sigh Liza turns yet another page in the book she is reading. Demetri had retreated to his room just after noon, leaving Liza and Felix alone in the living area. The dining table somewhere behind Liza is cluttered with files and documents that Felix needs to examine to make sure they did not overlook anything.

Another dramatic sigh leaves the female vampire’s lips. Liza throws her book next to her onto the cushions and dramatically turns her head to look out of the window front. From the terrace, through the garden and beyond the fence a narrow path winds down just to the coast. Their own private beach.

Still, there’s hours to pass for the sun to set eventually.

Liza listens to Felix drop his file onto the table. His chair gets pushed back. Only a bit, though. She can hear it scratching over the wooden floor. He doesn’t stand up.

“Querida, have you ever danced salsa before?”

Liza snorts. “No, I can’t dance anyways.”

“You could learn it. You've got a lot of time now.”

“And who’s going to show me? You?”

There’s a challenge in her voice and Liza turns just enough to be able to look over the back of the sofa. Felix is staring at her, his elbows resting on his knees, hands together, head slightly tilted. He looks intimidating. Like a predator preparing to attack his prey.

“Querida you forget where I’m from. I’ve been dancing salsa before I could even walk.”

“How come I’ve never seen you dance before then?”

“Well, I’ve been lacking the right... partner for that. Come here, let me show you.”

“No, thank you. As I said, I can’t dance.” Liza laughs and turns back around.

“Oh come on! This is going to be fun!”

“Make me!”

Liza’s book gets ripped out of her hands and hits the wall with a thud before falling to the floor. Still sitting on the sofa, Felix is towering above her. He leans down, one hand on either side of her. Felix’ face is so close, Liza can see her reflection in his dark red eyes and ever so often she can’t help but look down onto his lips. But she doesn’t get to do anything about it.

Felix winks at Liza.

Taking her hands he pulls her up and away from the sofa. Felix doesn’t let go of her hands when he takes another step back and turns serious again.

“Basic steps, querida. It’s not as hard as it looks.”

Liza rolls her eyes. “Fine.”

“Good. Now mirror me. Left, right, left. Right, left, right. Do it again.”

“Easy. That’s it?”

Felix smiles at her, “oh no. These are the basic steps that will stay the same all the time. Oh and you need to move your hips more.”

Liza’s eyes shoot up to look at Felix. A smug grin on his face.

“If you wanna see me shake my booty, you just had to ask, boy.”

Felix moves to stand behind his girlfriend and his sudden closure makes it surprisingly hard to concentrate. His lips are at her ear, softly touching it as he speaks quietly.

“Again, querida. Left, right, left. Right, left, right. Left-”

The vampire’s hands have been sitting loosely on Liza’s hips. Guiding them, his body as close as possible but still leaving her enough space. When she missteps, Liza rests her head on her boyfriend, groaning. Felix chuckles softly into her ear.

“Am I making you nervous, querida?”

“Nervous is not what I would call it,” she turns around in his arms. There’s an expression flickering through her eyes that causes Felix to swallow hard. “Let’s just say you distract me... Anyways, what’s next?”

Felix watches Liza bat her eyelashes innocently at him and it takes clearing his throat for him to find his words again.

“Right, right. So next we do this together. Come here.”

Felix doesn’t wait for Liza. He pulls her back in, probably a bit too far, but that is not the point. Liza laughs briefly and takes Felix’ hand. After making sure she’s good with the basic steps, Felix starts rotating them. Slowly but surely they make one round, and it is really coming together.

It’s cute how concentrated Liza stares at their feet, Felix finds, so he decides to spice things up by telling her to do a double step. Though neither vampire stops in their movements, Liza looks at Felix in disbelief.

“A double step?”

“Yes,” he smiles at her encouragingly, “I’ll count you in twice then we actually do it, okay?”

“Okay.”

Her answer is breathless but her eyes never leave Felix’. After a couple more minutes Liza gets the hang of it and feels safe enough to look at Felix again. He looks utterly happy and relaxed. She smiles.

Felix looks at his girlfriend with a proud face. “Close your eyes,” he tells her. “Keep the steps the same, that’s the only thing you need to concentrate on. I’ll do the rest. Trust me.”

And Liza does. Closing her eyes, she rolls her shoulders one last time and relaxes her hands. She can feel Felix move them around again, slow circles but not on the spot anymore. Felix leads them in bigger circles through the area. Once he feels sure enough that Liza will keep the steps, he starts moving faster. He watches her frown.

“You’re getting faster.”

“Correcto, querida. You’re doing great so far.”

Liza smiles and suddenly Felix’ hand leaves her hip. His other keeps holding hers and her free hand just hovers in the air. For three steps they stay like this, then Liza feels Felix’ chest under her fingertips again. She opens her eyes and takes the look in.

Smiling brightly Felix’ eyes never leave her face. His dark, usually very neat hair, looks a bit disheveled and his black silky dress shirt is halfway unbuttoned.

Quite a look, Liza thinks to herself.

But the female vampire doesn’t look less alluring. Tight black control leggings are hugging her curves and her white sheer cotton blouse has been unbuttoned a while ago. Underneath, a white crop top holds everything in place and covers about as much as it reveals.

Felix can’t take his eyes off her as they dance. Dancing salsa again after all this time brings back some memories he usually keeps locked away. But the woman in his hands keeps his brain routed in the present. By now, she is taking some initiative. Liza is putting more power into her steps and swings her hips just a bit more. When Felix’ eyes return to Liza’s face he watches her tip her head back and laugh. Freely. Happily.

In a swift motion, he brings their bodies together. He doesn’t need to tell her that they are no longer doing double steps. By now hours must have passed and their bodies are synced oh so well.

Reflexively Liza gasps for air. She raises her arms to lock her hands in his neck. Her eyes wide open as Felix’ hands cup her side firmly. She knows what’s about to come.

Then Felix kisses her.

Polly was only covering for their usual secretary Gianna, who had been given time off to say goodbye to her dying mother, who sadly passed whilst she was there and Aro had kindly extended her time off to allow her to bury her mother.

Polly wanted immortality but knew once Gianna returned from leave, she would likely be killed as she would no longer serve a purpose, so she came up with an idea to seduce one of the guards, hoping that he would care enough to change her instead of allowing her to be killed when the time came. Her idea evolved after she overheard some of the guards talking about Renesmee Cullen, a half vampire / half human child.

Demetri was known to be friendly and somewhat flirty with the fairer sex but had never taken a secretary to bed before as there was always a chance, a small chance but a chance nonetheless that they could be turned and he’d have to see them every day. After a week or two of Polly’s shameless flirting with him, he decided to sleep with her knowing Aro had decided Polly would be killed upon Gianna’s return…Polly wasn’t that good at her job and Aro liked Gianna as she was very efficient. As arranged, following guard duty one Friday evening he knocked on Polly’s door and entered to find her dressed in very little.

To say Demetri was shocked when he discovered Polly was pregnant with his child was an understatement, he had been careful, used protection…he made sure of it. Unknown to him Polly had lied, she wasn’t on birth control and after he left her room, she attempted to impregnate herself using a turkey baster and the contents of his discarded condom. ‘hopefully this works’ she thought to herself having seen this technique work in a TV show she had seen recently. 

Once Demetri found out about the pregnancy, he went to see Aro, who read his thoughts and was curious as to how Polly had conceived a baby when the tracker had been so careful. Upon reading Polly’s thoughts, he discovered her deception and was less than pleased. He informed Demetri of his discovery and it was decided once the baby was born, Polly would not be turned.

Heidi’s doctor friend who looks after the secretaries when they’re ill came to the castle and delivered the baby, Heidi acting as the nurse. Demetri and Felix waited outside of Polly’s room “I’ll ‘take care’ of Polly, if the birth doesn’t kill her” Felix said low “I don’t care how you do it Fe, she’s nothing to me” Demetri replied coldly, he hadn’t forgiven her despite her pleas for him to do so. He liked the idea of being a father and hoped he’d get the chance once he met his mate…if she was human, that is. He envied Edward Cullen a little, because he got to have a family with his mate, unlike him who was tricked into it.

Demetri loved his son the moment he saw him, noticing his son blue eyes; the blue eyes he had back when he was human. Demetri made his way to the throne room to introduce the Kings to his son “Masters, I would like to introduce you to my son Luca Marcus Volturi” Marcus smiled wide when he heard the baby’s name and was happy that Demetri had honoured him that way. Aro and Caius were also happy as they saw the light return to their brother’s eyes the moment the tracker had spoken. Aro knew that Marcus was close to Demetri as he had been his brother’s personal bodyguard for a millennia as well as the two sharing a love of history and the Arts.

Heidi and Jane helped Demetri look after Luca when Demetri was on duty, which wasn’t as often as Aro wanted to ensure Demetri and Luca bonded as it was just the two of them and Carlisle had mentioned how quickly Renesmee had changed in the first few months after she was born.

Aro received word that the Romanian coven had turned a number of humans in an attempt to rebuild their coven. The informant didn’t know numbers or where they were based but didn’t want to wait to find out, in case they decided to start a war.

Aro called Demetri, Felix and the twins to the throne room and explained the situation “I’m sorry Demetri but I need you track the Romanians and their ‘creations.’ I will need you to go with Felix and the twins to do so and I don’t know how long this mission will last” “I understand master. May I make a small request?” Demetri asked “Of course” Aro replied “I would like to ask Carlisle and Esme to take care of Luca in my absence as they have experience in raising children and I know Heidi will be busy arranging ‘tours.’ I will drop Luca off myself before meeting back up with Felix and the twins” “That is a reasonable request and it makes the most sense, although I will miss the little one dearly” Marcus replied, Aro and Caius nodding in agreement.  

“Hello Carlisle, it’s Demetri. I hope you and your family are well” Demetri greeted once Carlisle answered the phone “Hello Demetri, we are well thank you, hope you are well too.” He replied. “I’m well too. I became a father recently…” “Congratulations, I wasn’t aware you had found your mate” Carlisle said cutting him off “Thank you. I haven’t found my mate…it’s complicated. I’ll explain when I see you” Demetri replied “Are you coming to visit, to check on Renesmee?” “Not exactly. I need help, a favour really from Esme and yourself” “I understand. How can we help you?” “I have to leave on a mission for the Kings and am not sure how long I will be away for and was hoping that you and Esme might agree to look after Luca for me. You have experience with raising children and I trust you to look after him” “Of course we will. Esme will be happy to have a little one in the house again” Carlisle told him “I bet” Demetri chuckled “When was you thinking of bringing him over?” “Within the next day or so, I apologise for the short notice” “That’s not a problem. Esme and I are leaving tomorrow morning for a short break, we’ll only be gone for a few days but Rosalie and Bella can look after him till we get back” “Thank you Carlisle, it’s appreciated. Enjoy your time away” “Thank you and look forward to seeing you soon” Carlisle and Demetri ended the call.

Carlisle told Esme and their children about Demetri’s phone call and that Luca would be coming to stay, Esme’s eyes lit up at the thought of having a baby in the house again ‘I know my wife so well’ he thought to himself. “When is Demetri dropping Luca off?” Esme asks “In the next day or two. He is aware that we are away for a few days but I said that Rose and Bella will look after him until we return” Carlisle responded “Why would you agree to that? He’s a Volturi” Rosalie asked not sounding very happy “Despite Demetri being an elite guard for the Volturi, he and I always got along even after I left the castle. I see him as a friend and he has asked for our help in caring for his son and I agreed” Carlisle answered her “Why do Bella and I have to care for him?” “Because Carlisle and I are away for a few days and you both have experience with looking after children” Esme replied this time. The Cullen teenagers were not happy but knew better than to argue seeing as the decision had been made.

Luca is three weeks old when Demetri drops him off at the Cullen house. Luca is able to talk and crawl, developing quickly as Renesmee had a few years before. Edward opened the door and greeted Demetri and led him inside the house. “Esme has set the travel cot up for Luca in the guest room” “Carlisle mentioned that Esme had kept hold of it, just in case it was ever needed again. Thank you” Demetri replied. Demetri put the small suitcase with Luca’s clothes and a few toys in the hallway and followed Edward upstairs. “Thank you Bella for helping look after Luca until Esme gets back, it’s much appreciated” Demetri said with a smile “That’s ok” Bella replied and took Luca from Demetri. Once he knew Luca was ok with Bella and Edward, he said goodbye to his son, kissing the top of his head and left to meet Felix and the twins.

An hour later Bella put Luca down for a nap and waited for her sister Elena to arrive. As Elena made her way to the family room, she heard the voices of her sister and the Cullens. It sounded like they were arguing “Jasper and I are not ‘playing house’ with the baby. If I wanted a baby I would adopt one” Alice said firmly, Jasper nodded and added “Don’t get us wrong we love Ness and would do anything for her, but Luca…Luca is not family.” “Who’s Luca?” Elena asked, curious. Bella and the Cullens turned to look at her. “Luca is the hybrid son of a friend of Carlisle’s and we have been asked to look after him until he and Esme return” “Oh ok, that’s the baby Esme said was coming to stay for a bit. So, what’s the problem?” “His dad is an Elite Guard for the Volturi” Emmett answered her, his tone wasn’t pleasant. The argument about who would look after Luca resumed.

“I can’t believe you lot, you won’t help out a friend of Carlisle’s just because you don’t like his ‘family’…” “It’s not just that. We’re not very fond of him either” Bella says cutting Elena off “Ok, you don’t like his father much either but Luca’s just a baby and you’re refusing to look after him. From what Esme told me, the baby’s father is without a mate and trusted you lot to look after his son while she was away” Elena replied “Well Alice and Jasper aren’t interested in ‘playing house’ with him. I have plans with Edward, Jake and Ness and don’t need the added complication of a baby” Bella said as she crossed her arms over her chest. “Wouldn’t Ness like a playmate or something I mean, he’s a hybrid like her?” “I said NO” Bella replies glaring at her sister. “Well, he needs someone to look after him. You can’t leave him home alone” Elena argued back and turned to look at Rosalie “For someone who misses being able to have children, I can’t believe you are turning down the opportunity to care for him. I mean you have experience of looking after a hybrid” Silence fills the room for a moment “HOW DARE YOU…” Rosalie begins “NO! HOW DARE YOU?” Elena shouts back “Considering his family moto is ‘The Volturi don’t give second chances,’ they have given you all multiple chances in the past due to the actions of my sister and Edward and you can’t be repay them with a simple act of kindness. It’s disgusting, and you say they’re monsters. You’re refusing to look after a baby, an innocent baby despite Carlisle giving his word that the baby would be cared for whilst he and Esme were away for a few days” Elena adds eyeing the Cullens with distain. “You don’t understand…” Emmett starts but Elena cut him off “I understand perfectly. You’re all selfish assholes. I mean I know about your world, which we all know breaks their most basic law and unlike Bella I don’t have a reason to become immortal…so I’m dead when they find out. You really have learnt nothing over the past few years” Elena doesn’t wait for a response and makes her way upstairs to the guest room to check on Luca.

She enters the room to see a baby boy asleep in the travel crib, he appears to be older than he should be ‘vampire genes’ she thought to herself. After a few moments Luca’s eyes flutter open and she notices his blue eyes looking up at her. He sits up and raises his arms “Up please” He says with a smile on his face. Elena smiles back and lifts him up into her arms. “Hello Luca, I’m Elena. It’s nice to meet you” “And you” He replies softly and rested his head on her shoulder, she breathed his scent ‘Aww, he has that new baby smell’ she thought smiling “Daddy does too that when we cuddle” Luca told her “Sorry, you just have that new baby smell” She told him, her cheeks a little flushed “You smell nice too” He replied low.

A door slammed downstairs and she felt Luca flinch in her arms “How about a sleepover at my house? It’ll be quiet there as my dad is working tonight” She asked and he nodded “I don’t like the shouting” He replied softly “Me neither.” Elena put Luca on the bed and collapsed the travel crib and gathered his things “Stay right there sweetie, I’ll be right back” “Ok” He replied and watched Elena go downstairs. Elena put the crib and his suitcase in the trunk of her car and made her way back inside to collect Luca. She picked him up off the bed and went downstairs with him in her arms “What are you doing?” Bella asked just Elena reached the front door “Taking Luca to my house to look after him. It’s quiet there” She replied and walked out of the house to see Emmett putting Ness’ car seat in her car “I figured you’d need it” “Thanks” She replied and strapped Luca in, before getting in her car and driving away, not sparing a look in her rear-view mirror.

“I can’t believe she took him” Bella said looking at Edward “I can. She’s human and she seemed pretty angry with us” Rosalie replied from inside the house “Not to mention none of us were going to look after him, I mean if we upset him or something happens to him, they’d have our heads” Emmett added “Well, that’s her problem now” Edward stated “Edward! That’s my sister” “I’m sorry Bella, but Luca is better off with your sister than being left here alone until Esme and Carlisle return” Edward replied.

Elena parked on the drive and took Luca’s crib and suitcase in the house and then returned to the car “We need to get some stuff for you. What do you like to eat?” She asked “I don’t know. Daddy and Auntie Heidi and Auntie Jane give me bottles of milk, something about it being good for children’s teeth and bones” He replied “Let me guess, they’ve read a baby book” She mused “Yep. Daddy has a few of them” Elena took a deep breath “You don’t need to drink blood, do you?” Luca shook his head “Daddy gave me a little bottle of blood last week just to see if I liked it. It was ok” He replied “Ok then. Well, I’m human and can’t give you blood so…I’m going to nurture your human side and feed you food that us humans eat. Sound good?” Luca nodded and smiled at her.  

Elena parked the car and turned to look at Luca “Right, I need you not to talk whilst we’re in the shop” Luca looked confused “Ok, so human babies don’t speak until they’re about a year old. You look like a six-month-old baby, despite being less than a month old” “Oh, so I have to pretend to be a human baby who can’t talk?” “Yes please, just while we’re in the shop. Is that ok?” “That’s ok” He replied.

Elena put Luca in the seat on of the trolley and made her way around the shop picking up the items she required, being stopped every so often by someone complimenting Luca. “Aww, he’s adorable” One old lady commented, Luca just smiled at her. “Oh, he’s gorgeous and so well behaved, unlike some” Another lady said as she side eyed a toddler throwing a tantrum. Elena politely thanked them all and continued on their way.

“Are all humans that friendly?” Luca asked on the drive home “Most, you get a few that aren’t very nice, so it’s best to avoid those people” Elena replied and Luca nodded. Once they arrived back at Elena’s house, she carried him inside and unpacked the shopping, Luca watching her with curiosity in his blue eyes.

That night Elena cooked sausage, mash and peas, figuring she’d try something simple for Luca’s first-time eating food. “This is nice, thank you” Luca said with a smile “I’m glad you liked it sweetie” She replied “If you want you can have some milk before bed?” “Ok, thank you” He responded.

Elena set the travel crib up in her room and after bathing him she put him to bed, reading to him whilst he drunk a bottle of milk. “Goodnight Luca, sweet dreams” She said softly, “Goodnight Elena” He replied and drifted off to sleep.

Elena woke the next morning to find Luca sitting up in the crib “Morning Elena” “Morning Luca” She replied and got out of bed and lifted him out of the crib. Once downstairs, Elena gave Luca a bottle of milk and made herself a coffee as she made them both Vanilla and Honey flavoured porridge “Mmm, this is nice” Luca said smiling “It’s one of my favourite flavours” She replies. Elena introduced Luca to the world of Disney, both of them getting teary as they watched Bambi.

Esme and Carlisle returned home two days after Luca arrived to find Rosalie, Emmett, Jasper and Alice in the family room, but there was no sign of a heartbeat or anything belonging to a child “Where is Luca? Is he with Bella and Edward at the cottage?” Esme asked looking at them, they looked at each other before looking back at her “Luca isn’t with Bella and Edward” Rose answered “Where is he, I know he isn’t here?” She replied “He’s with Elena. She took home the day he arrived” Emmett answered and Carlisle sighed loudly, pinching the bridge of his nose “Why is he with her?” He asked “None of us wanted to look after him in your absence and well…Elena called us all out on behaviour and went upstairs grabbed Luca and his stuff and left. We haven’t seen them since” Alice replied this time “I did give her the car seat for him” Emmett adds “Oh, well, that’s alright then, as long as she has the car seat” Carlisle responded sarcastically “I’ll go call Elena and let her know we’re home” Esme left the room and heard her husband tell their children how disappointed he was with all of them.

Elena and Luca were at the park when Esme called to tell her she and Carlisle were home. “Luca, Esme and Carlisle are home and have asked that I take you over there” “Ok, when do we go?” He replied “Whenever we’re ready” He nodded “I’m ready to leave the park” He told her and helped her gather their things before going back to the car.

A few hours later they arrive at the Cullen house “Hello Elena” Esme smiled “Hello Esme” “This must be Luca, I’m Esme. It’s nice to meet you” She said softly “Hello Esme, it’s nice to meet you too” He replied. They followed Esme upstairs and saw Carlisle waiting for them “Hello Elena, Luca” “Hello Carlisle” Elena replied “Hello” Luca responded. Carlisle noticed how Luca stayed beside Elena even when Esme was talking to him, he wondered if Luca felt safer with Elena than with them given the attitude of his children.

“Well I should get going, things to do and all that” Elena said as she stood, Luca got up too and slipped his hand in hers “It was nice to meet you” Luca said smiling at Esme and Carlisle “Luca, now we’re home you’ll be staying with us as per the arrangement with your dad” Esme said softly, Luca shook his head “I want to stay with Elena” He replied “I can come visit you whilst you’re here” Elena said as she crouched down to his level, noticing his eyes had filled with tears. “I want to stay with you. I don’t want to stay here” He said and tears began to fall, Elena’s heart broke a little and she decided she wouldn’t leave him, not whilst he’s upset “How about I stay over tonight with you? If that’s ok with you Esme?” Elena asks, Luca turns to look at Esme waiting for her answer “Of course, that’s not a problem” She replied. Luca wrapped his arms around Elena “Thank you” His voice sounding muffled as he snuggled into her.

Luca liked Esme as she seemed nice but he preferred Elena looking after him, this included bath and bedtime. “I think it’s bath time” Esme said looking at Luca “Ok, come on Elena” He replied and got up from the floor where he was sitting and looked Elena “I think Esme planned on bathing you tonight” Elena told him and he shook his head “Can you bath me please?” He asked, Elena looked at Esme who nodded at her “You know where everything is” She said with a smile “Come on then Luca” Elena took his hand and they went upstairs to the bathroom. “Don’t take it personally love” Carlisle said low in his wife’s ear “He’s just gotten used to Elena caring for him. Give him time to get to know you” He kissed her temple “I know, I just thought he’d be ok with us looking after him now we’re home, that’s all” She replied.

Once Luca had been bathed Elena gave him a bottle of milk and read him a bedtime story “I like the stories you tell me” Luca said, his voice sounding sleepy “I’m glad. These are some of favourite stories too” She replied low. Elena showered and changed into the pyjamas Esme lent her.

Luca had been in Forks for about a week when he started walking, Elena felt bad that his dad was missing his son’s first steps so decided to take videos of his attempts and she was so happy she managed to capture his actual first steps on video too.

The following day Elena took Luca into town with her and visited her favourite bookstore, taking him straight over to the children’s section. His eyes went wide when he noticed the number of books in the store “Wow, and I thought daddy had lots of books” Elena chuckled but found his reaction cute. She bought him a copy of the fairy tale book she’s been reading him of a night-time. “Thank you Elena” He said with a smile “You’re very welcome sweetie” She replied with a smile of her own.

That night Elena took Luca back to the Cullens stopping to pick up some of her stuff. Elena sat in the bathroom with Esme and Luca as she gave him a bath. Luca had agreed to let Esme bath him as long Elena was there ‘it’s a start’ Esme thought to herself. Esme also read him a bedtime story before tucking him in and wishing him goodnight.

Elena took Luca to the Transport museum as she figured he’d probably like the different cars and trains. He found it amazing “I’ve never seen a train before” Luca told her “You know they have a small train outside that leaves the ‘station’ every hour and goes around the grounds. Would you like to go on the train?” She replied “Yes please” He answered, both curious and excited by the idea. They saw the different cars, buses and trains on display, Elena read out the information about each one. “I think I like the trains the best” Luca told Elena on the drive back to Elena’s house.

Over the next few days Elena and Luca baked cookies and brownies and made pizzas for dinner. They also coloured in the new colouring books she had bought for him following their trip to the Natural History museum, where Luca saw lots of dinosaur skeletons and found them fascinating.

Demetri had checked in occasionally with Carlisle via text and had a short phone call with him to advise he should be coming home the following day. Esme relayed the message to Elena, but asked her not to tell Luca in case something changed.

Elena took Luca to the Zoo and watched as Luca looked at all of the animals with awe and curiosity flashing through his eyes. Luca fed a baby giraffe some leaves through the fence “That was fun. I’ll have to ask daddy to bring me back here” He said bouncing up and down “Glad you’re having fun sweetie” She replied as they headed to the Elephant enclosure and Elena noticed a sign ‘Elephant’s bath time – 5 minutes’ “Would you like to watch the elephants have a bath?” “Yes, please Elena” He replied. Luca found it funny when the baby elephant went and rolled in a muddy puddle just after having his bath “Silly little elephant” He said pointing to the animal and Elena chuckled “Maybe someone should have told him how bath time works” She replied and he nodded.

Demetri had been away for nearly three weeks and arrived at the Cullen house to find Marcus waiting for him, but not his son. “Hello master” He greeted Marcus with a bow of his head before turning to look at Carlisle “Where’s my son? I know he’s not here” “He’s safe. He’s with Elena, they’re on their way over now” Carlisle replied “Who’s Elena?” “She’s Bella’s younger sister and…she’s been taking care of Luca whilst you’ve been away” “WHAT?...WHY?” Demetri demanded “It would seem that whilst Carlisle and Esme were away their children and Bella refused to look after Luca and Elena gave them quite a talking too and then decided she would care for your son until they returned. However, Luca has become quite attached to the human girl and didn’t want to stay here without her. So, Elena has continued to care for him, splitting her time between her home and the Cullen’s” Marcus answered calmly. “I have helped Elena out a little since I’ve been back but she has taken great care of him and they have become almost inseparable” Esme added smiling. “Another human knows about us? That means she has to be dealt with and as I’m the only guard here, that job falls to me…” He trailed off, Esme and Carlisle paled and looked to Marcus “It’s our law…your children shouldn’t have told her about us unless one of them planned on changing her” Marcus answered their unasked question. “What a great way to say thank you to the girl who has cared for my son” Demetri mumbled, although they heard him. This was one order he was hoping Marcus wouldn’t give, but he knew if the situation wasn’t dealt with now Caius would send Felix and possibly want to start a fight with the Cullens. The four vampires were so busy talking about the less than ideal situation they didn’t notice Elena and Luca enter the house; they heard everything, Elena knew her time was up…today.

Elena took a deep breath and entered the room “Hello Esme, Carlisle, sorry we’re a bit late I took him out for breakfast” Elena said with a smile “We had waffles with berries and syrup” Luca added, sounding excited. “Hello Luca and you must be Elena. It’s nice to meet you” Marcus said with a small smile “Hello Marcus” Luca replied “It’s nice to meet you too” Elena added.

Luca noticed his dad on the opposite side of the room and ran to him “Daddy, daddy” Demetri scooped him up into his arms holding him close, breathing in his scent. “I’ve missed you daddy” “I’ve missed you too, more than you know” Demetri replied. “You’ve grown so much and you’re walking, when I left you could only crawl” Demetri said as he looked his son over “I-I took videos of him attempting to walk and of his first steps for you. I know it’s not the same as seeing it in person but I thought you’d like to see it all the same. If you give me your number, I can forward them to you. If you have an email address, I can send you the many photos I’ve taken from our days out” Elena said softly, with a smile. “Thank you. I’ll write them down for you” He replied not looking at her. Demetri was angry, no seething, his son had thrived under the care of the human girl, the girl who had no reason to step up and take care of his son and he had to kill her…just to keep their secret. He refused to think about her name as it would only make his ‘task’ harder.

“We went to the Zoo yesterday and there were so many animals daddy. We watched the elephants get a bath and I got to feed a baby giraffe some leaves through the fence” Luca eyes were full of excitement “Elena even bought me a stuffed dolphin.” “Sounds like you’ve had fun” Marcus mused “Yep. We’ve been to the park, the Transport Museum, I really liked the trains. We went shopping and she bought me a book of fairy tales. Elena and I also had a hot chocolate and a gingerbread man once we finished shopping. It was yummy. Oh, and we saw dinosaurs too” Demetri and Marcus looked confused, Elena chuckled before replying “I took him to the Natural History Museum, there are dinosaurs on display.” Demetri nodded, still not looking at Elena, she knew why and didn’t mind. She was just a little upset that he had to be the one to kill her considering she had cared for his son for the past few weeks. She decided she’d tell him that she understood that it was his job to protect their secret and would give him her forgiveness, hoping that would help him live with his actions.

Luca’s voice bought her out of her thoughts “Oh, and we baked cookies and brownies. We even made pizzas for dinner. We had a few duvet days…” Demetri looked confused again and Luca laughed “It means we stayed in our pyjamas and watched movies all day. We ate popcorn and ice-cream too” Luca added smiling. “I hope you don’t mind but I kinda nurtured his human side, seeing as I’m human so he’s tried many human foods and seemed to like most of them” Elena explained “That’s very good of you, thank you” Demetri replied “Well, I figured you have an eternity to nurture his vampire side so…” She replied trailing off and he nodded. Elena noticed the look Marcus gave Carlisle and Esme and took a breath “I’m going to get his stuff from the car” Elena made her way outside “I’m going to help her” Luca added and followed Elena outside.

Luca sat on the steps leading up to the house, Elena sat beside him “Thank you for looking after me” “You’re very welcome sweetie” She replied and wrapped an arm around him. He got up and climbed into her lap and wrapped his arms around her, his head resting on her shoulder. Elena wrapped her arms around him and held him close, resting her head gently on his, both of them feeling tears build up in their eyes.

“I’m sorry Elena” He said softly and she knew what he meant for he had heard their conversation too. “You have nothing to apologise for…” “If you hadn’t looked after me, they wouldn’t know about you” Luca cut her off, a tear slipping down his cheek “I don’t regret looking after you Luca and they would have found out eventually” She replied softly and held him a little tighter.

The four vampires inside the house could hear their conversation and Demetri had never hated their laws or his job until today. He didn’t have a problem with humans, probably because he spent so much time in their world tracking vampires and he has no problems killing them to survive but this human did not deserve to die. He knew Luca wouldn’t fully understand the situation and was likely to hate him for killing his friend. ‘Gods I hope Marcus doesn’t give the order’ he thought to himself.

Meanwhile, Elena and Luca were still outside saying goodbye “I want you to promise me something Luca” She felt him nod against her “Do not blame daddy, he is just following orders. He has to keep your world a secret from mine.” Luca didn’t say anything. Demetri couldn’t believe how kind she was being despite knowing what was to happen to her. “Promise me Luca” He nodded and held out his little finger and she wrapped hers around it gently “Pinky promise” Luca said. This was something she had taught him when she promised not to leave him at the Cullen house.

A few moments of silence passed before Luca broke it “I’m sorry you don’t get to get married and have a family, like Esme” She felt tears slip down her cheeks too “I may not get to be a mummy but that’s ok. I at least got to see what it was like to be a mummy by looking after you” She stroked his hair gently “I wish you were my mummy” He said tears falling down his cheeks “Me too sweetie, me too” She replied “I love you” Luca snuggled into her further “I love you too” She replied holding him closer.

Demetri’s undead heart broke upon hearing their declarations, standing up he looked at Marcus “I can’t kill her. I won’t kill her. I’ll take her home and turn her. We’ll raise Luca together” He didn’t wait for a response and made his way outside to comfort Elena and his son, hoping Marcus would understand and not object to his decision.

“Elena” Demetri said softly as he stood in the doorway ‘this is it’ she thought and pulled back from Luca “I need you to go inside and stay with Esme and remember what I said ok?” She said softly, wiping his tears away with her thumbs “Ok” He replied low and wiped the tears from her eyes too. Before Luca could get up from Elena’s lap, they both felt strong arms wrap around them “Please don’t cry, I can’t bear it” “But…” “I’ve told Marcus I won’t harm you, in fact I’m taking you home with me” Demetri said cutting her off “Why?” She asked low “I will not repay your kindness that way and I couldn’t live with myself knowing I killed someone as sweet as you. You looked after my son when you had no reason to. You have come to care for one another…I heard your conversation, his wish, your reply. He already lost one mother before he got a chance to know her, I will not let him lose another” Demetri vowed and tightened his hold on them “But what about when you meet your mate?” Elena asked but before Demetri could answer Marcus spoke up “He already has my dear” Demetri, Elena and Luca looked up at him, confused looks on their faces “Demetri was so angry when he discovered that the Cullen children refused to look after Luca in Esme’s absence, that they had let you do so; knowing what that meant for you, that he refused to look at you. He didn’t want to look at the kind and caring human that had taken care of his son, knowing what he had to do, if ordered” He paused for a moment to see if they understood, and then continued “If Demetri had looked at you…just once, he would have known that you are his mate, ­his one true love” Elena and Demetri wore matching shocked expressions as their gazes switched between each other and Marcus, Demetri’s hold on Elena tightened slightly. “How-how do you know, if-if he didn’t?” Elena asked “It’s my gift. I can see relationships between people, how they are tied or bonded to each other. For example, I can see that a strong mother and son bond has developed between you and Luca in the few short weeks you’ve known one another. There is the beginnings of a strong mate bond between Demetri and you, it just needs to be nurtured, in order for you to live happily ever after, as they say” Marcus replied smiling.

“Does that mean Elena is coming home with us daddy?” Luca asked sounding hopeful “It does…as long as she agrees” Demetri replied looking at Elena and his son “Y-you really want me?” She asked Demetri “Yes, darling I do…I planned to take you home remember, to turn you and raise our son together and that was before I knew you were mine. Marcus has just confirmed that you are my mate…which means you will be with us for eternity” He looked into her eyes trying to read her “I want you to come home with us too…please” Luca added, she looked down at him still in her arms and smiled. “O-ok I guess we can try out this eternity thing” She replied looking at Demetri, giving him a small smile “I promise to look after you both and I will do everything I can to make you happy” He replied, Luca smiled knowing his new mummy was coming home with them…Forever.

Pet, The beginnings (Part One)

My heels clacked against the stone floor as I made my way towards a large office, accompanied by a very handsome man named Demetri, whose hand seemed to find its way to my lower back any chance he had. . “Here we are, Bellisima.” He said as he opened the door for me. “Grazie, Demetri.” I said, giving him a flirty smile. “Piacere mio, tesoro.” He said as he slowly removed his hand from my lower back, but he couldn’t help himself and cheekily touched my bum when retracting his hand. A small chuckled escaped my lips as I stepped into the office. A beautiful man with long, black hair and a pale face greeted me. He stood up from his chair and walked towards me. “Ah, young Mandy Lamia if I am not mistaken?” he says, his voice was smooth and almost angelic, as were his movements. “Correct. Mr. Volturi I assume?” I ask as I held out my hand for him to shake. He smiles at me and gently takes my hand in his and brings it to his lips, gently pressing a kiss against my knuckles while his deep red eyes never left mine. A small blush crept onto my cheeks as his other hand was placed on my lower back and guided me to the chair in front of his desk. He gently helped me sit down and lingered a little longer before he released my hand, sitting back in his chair behind the desk. “Well I must say we are very impressed by your appearance and motivation, my dear. I suggest you move into your new chambers this weekend and start your activities by Monday. Unless you have any objections?” He said, his intense stare never leaving my face. A huge smile fell on my lips. “No objections, sir. Thank you for the opportunity.” I said. Aro returned my smile and in a flash was beside me. Right, vampire speed. He held out his hand for me to grab. I delicately placed my right hand in his and he gracefully pulled me from the chair, only his pull was slightly too strong as I stumbled and fell against his chest. But before I could apologise for being clumsy had Aro’s hand been placed on my lower back again and I felt his cool breath against my ear. “Wear the red dress on Monday, piccolo.”

“Hello, Tesoro. Did you bring everything from your old home?” Heidi the fisher asked as I got out of my car. I had learned everyone’s roles the night prior. After returning home that evening I had found a lot of paperwork containing all the rules, my duties and the different names and tasks of the coven members. And the dress code. I was required to always wear a dress no longer than knee length with matching heels. Work hours were from 7:00 until 13:00 and then from 15:00 until 18:00. Every Monday and Friday between 13:00 and 15:00 would there be a tour brought in for the vampires in the castle and I was forbidden from entering the throne room during that time. Well, unless I wanted to end up as dessert. Furthermore I had to call the leaders of the coven and their wives Master and Mistress and anyone of the guard by miss or mister. I smiled at Heidi and I couldn’t help but to let my eyes look at her beautiful forms. “Yes, miss Heidi.” I said as I made my way towards the back of my car to grab my stuff. I was allowed to park my car in the large garage underneath the castle. Heidi smiled at me and was about to approach me when two other figures sped towards us. “Well well, bella Mandy. I am glad you decided to join us.” Demetri said as soon as he was close enough, shooting me a playful smirk. “Hello Mr. Demetri. And you must be Mr. Felix if I am correct?” I asked turning my attention to the final man. Felix smirked and grabbed my hand, he bend down slightly and kissed my knuckles. “Pleasure to meet you, Piccolo.” He said making me blush slightly. “Will you allow us to help you move your belongings to your chambers?” Demetri asked, his eyes never leaving my face nor my frame. I gave him a genuine smile. “I would appreciate that, Mr. Demetri.” As I turned around I felt pairs of eyes burning in my back and they travelled down when I bent over to grab my first bag out of the car. You and Alec had a bet going on. He would give you ten bucks of you could scare him before Friday. If you failed, you had to give him ten bucks. He was sure that you would fail. Within his years of living, he had only been scared a handful of times and all by his sister. But you have your mindset on changing that. You had even got the masters in on your plan. You don't even know how you convinced them but you guessed that they just wanted some entertainment. They let you hid in the throne room, right behind Marcus's throne, as they called in the ' fantastic four ' for a meeting. You came up with that name and are very proud of yourself for it since the masters had taken that name into their vocabulary. You can hear the guards entering the room as none of them notices you hiding. You hold your breath to stop that from giving you away. You can see Alec getting closer.

You quickly duck behind the throne. Their voices are muffled but you can still make out parts of their conversations. Alec and Jane are taking the few steps up into they are standing right in front of Aro's throne. You take your shot and jump up at the side of the throne, letting out a 'boo'. Alec's shoulder shakes from the scare. Within a millisecond, he has you pinned to the ground. His right-hand holds a painfully tight grip on your right wrist. He pushes your arm down onto the ground. The snap of a bone sounds through the room before you let out a scream. He is off you in a second, sitting beside you on his knees.

"Fuck, are you okay? What did I do?" he asks. You shake your head as you cradle your wrist to your arm to your chest. It's when you let out another scream that he springs into action. Dark fog drips out from his palm and surrounds you. It feels like a warm blanket wrapping around you. The faint scent of vanilla fills your nose as his smoke takes away your pain. Your screaming stops but the tears continue to roll down your cheeks. "What did you do?" Caius snarls as he stands up from his throne and comes into your field of vision. "Did you break the human?". The fog was getting to you, making you feel something close to a high. Your vision is slightly blurry. The familiar faces of your favourite vampires are now mushing together. Alec grabs your unharmed hand as he pulls you so that you lay in his lap.

His eyes shoot over you with panic as he tries to think of what to do. 'I-I don't know. They scared me and I- fuck. I attacked them," he says. A smile appears on your lips. You point a finger up at him. "I scared you, I won," you say. Your limbs start to get heavy as little black dots slowly cloud your vision. Alec's panicked rambles are muffled and your ears start to ring. "I think...I think I'm going...pass out," you manage to say before your vision goes black.

You feel like you've been hit by a ton of brick. Opening your eyes feels much harder than it normally is, but you manage to open them. You look around you. You're in Alec room, laying in his bed. He is sitting right next to you, his arm swung over your shoulder as he rests against the headboard. A steady stream of black smoke is pouring from his hands and down onto you. You look down at your right arm. A bright pink cast is set around it, yet you don't feel any pain thanks to Alec. You look up at him as you sit up a bit straighter. "I'm sorry," he says. "I should have been more careful,".

You shake your head, turning on your side so that you can face him. "Don't be sorry. Now I have a cool story to tell. I mean, how many people can say that a vampire broke their arm?" you ask with a smile. A wave of happiness washes over Alec. He always loved how optimistic you were, even during rough times. He shrugs, sliding his arm of your shoulder. "Still, I hurt you.".

You shake your head. "But since you're an amazing vampire with super cool powers, it doesn't hurt.". A sad look is still on Alec's face. It almost looks like he has bags under his eyes. "Look, it's okay. Do you know how many bruises Demitri has given me? Too many," you say. This only makes Alec cringe. You grab his left hand with yours as you lace your fingers through his. "What I'm trying to say is that I'm human. I get hurt and I heal again. Circle of life, baby!". Alec nods, letting his shoulders drop a little to relieve the tension in them.

"You're right," he says. You pull him in for a hug. You rub your hands on his back to calm him down and you know how much he loves how warm he gets from it. "Oh, you still owe my ten bucks by the way,". A laugh shakes through Alec's shoulders as he shakes his head. You break away from him and slowly get up from the bed. This goes with much more difficult since you only have one arm you can use.

"You're also my maid now, as payback. You're going to give me whatever my little heart desires," you say as you look at Alec with a sly smile. He lets out a sigh as he also gets out of bed and walks over to the door, holding it open for you. You give him a thankful nod as you walk past him and out of his bedroom. The moment you enter the hallway you hear someone call out to you. "Nice cast!".

Look over to see Felix laughing at your bright pink case. You stick up the middle finger on your casted hand and hold it up to him. Alec catches up to you and stands at your side. "How about you bring me something to eat, maid," you say to him. He rolls his eyes as he nods and quickly picks you up before running you two to the castle's kitchen. You sit down in a chair as you look at Alec rummaging through the cabinets to try and find some food. Oh, you're going to enjoy this.

I got woken up by the beautiful sun shining on my window , i was in a happy mood for a second when i remembered what needed to be done for today . I then let out a heavy sigh and i got up , i did my bed and cleaned any left over mess i made the night before and i got in the shower and i took a quick but hygienic shower that left me smelling like baked christmas cookies and mint candy canes . I then got dressed for my outfit of the day , i made sure i was comfortable enough because i knew felix would be taking me to volterra in a private jet . After i was done getting dressed and did my hair and make up the last thing i needed to do is to pack my bathroom essentials and bring my phone and my phone charger , after i was done i looked around and noticed how empty the room felt with only my bed and my tv and some furniture left in my room . At this point some of my tears started to drip , i was afraid this was gonna end up bad , what if felix would fight them and he killed my dad like last time in italy ? What if my dad would kill felix ? What if my coven would disown me ? I started to shake out of it , i then grew enough balls and esme had prepared me some eggs and bacon , i smiled at her and pulled her into a tight hug and she just chuckled .

" Thank you esme , i love you so much you are the best of the best no one can top your cooking "

" oh sweetheart , i love seeing you in a good mood , you are never this sweet any special occasion ? "

" N-no , i just thought id show my gratitude towards you and thank you for being there since i was born esme , thank you for taking care of me , thank you for the love you have given me since birth , you really are like a second mom and i would never trade it for anything in the entire world and im thankful i have hou by my side no matter what "

I then nodded and we were talking while i was eating , after i was done i gave her a kiss on the cheek and she gave me one as well it felt like i was saying my goodbye to her which was true because i don't know when ill see her again or if ill even see her , i then did the rest with my family . I saw nessie and she was trying to braid her hair but she was unable , so i stepped in and i braided it for her .

" It's no problem nessie , so how is your life with jacob ? Any problems ? "

" My life is amazing , Jacob is the sweetest to me and he cares for me allot , im grateful i have him "

We ran three miles around the woods and he ended up beating me as usual .

He started playing a song and i honestly loved it and i gave him a hug after he ended the song , then me and my mom were talking and we bonded real good . i hugged them both before i confronted jacob about what happened yesterday .

Now it was time to spend time with the last cullen carlisle , he was in his doctors office in the house and i just knocked .

I then started to have a faint blush .

Then a loud voice caught me and Carlisle attention

Alec spoke and i felt like i was about to have a panic attack .

My dad shouted and then felix growled and speed next to My side protecting me and he stepped infront of my dad .

My aunt rosalie stated and carlisle put a hand over her and let out a sigh and my dad then knew then and there that he knew .

I just simply nod but alice and my mom hold my wrists

Jane then uses her power on alice and she falls in pain but bella uses her shield on her so she is able to get over it and i quickly head for my bags and i have my mini back pack .

" Jasper you also knew about this and you dis not bother to say one word about it !? "

My dad shouted

" I just found out today edward "

" So what i smelled was true , you guys were riding like it was the best time of your life and if your life depended on it y/n "

Felix and demetri then chuckled but my dad and mom shouted at him .

" Jake ! Stop ! "

" As much as i am delighted to see this controversy we need to go master caius would be very upset if we arrived late "

Jane said and i just headed out and felix put a hand over me while my family watched me leave with sadness in their face , i let a few tears slip here and there but felix grabbed my face in his huge ones and wiped my tears away with his thumb .

A/N: This is long. And I'm just saying, it's been four months since you arrived in Volterra. And this part is just super fluffy! Y'all aren't really for the next part, hehe!

Alec pulled you out of the door, leading you outside. "Where are we going?" You asked still hand in hand with Alec. Everytime you held his hand it just felt, like it was supposed to be there. Like two puzzle pieces connecting together. But at the same time you just wanted to be in his arms. You had fallen for the charming vampire at your side.

"To a cafe." Alec responded.

"I already checked with the masters, it's okay. And you haven't asked to leave this castle like, at all." Alec said giving you a strange look.

"I thought you meant eating in the kitchen or something, I feel safe here." You mumbled.

"You shouldn't be so trusting of the others." Alec said.

"Why?"

"Um, they are vampires as am I. Alec paused. "Just don't be so trusting of the others okay?" Alec said seriously.

"Okay."

You arrived at the cafe, it was open twenty four hours a day. You were glad because it was twelve at night. Your sleep schedule was messed up. Did you even have a normal sleep schedule? You couldn't remember.

Alec grabbed a tiny table near the window, while you got a coffee, and a muffin. You had no idea if you liked that stuff, but it was worth a try. You sat next to Alec at the tiny table.

"So, red hair?" Alec asked, you knew he was talking about the vampire.

"Like fire." You said looking down at your hands.

"How are you so... In control, around me?" You asked changing the subject.

"It's not easy, you're my blood singer, so it's even harder. But I can't lose you, I Iost everyone I ever loved in my life except for Jane. I have to be in control." Alec said getting serious.

"I'm sorry," You said scooting your chair away.

"No, Mi Amor, come back. I'm fine!" Alec said pulling you back over to him. "Besides, while you were avoiding me, that gave me time to build self control." Alec said slightly smirking.

"Thank, Beth then." You said sarcastically.

You couldn't see his eyes, because of the bulky black sunglasses he was wearing to hide his beautiful red eyes.

"Best friends, remember?" Alec said nudging your arm. You giggled and poked his side.

"I have I question, did you clean my wound?" You said pointing to the gash on your head.

"Yes, I did. And I'm gonna have to do it again apparently." Alec said with a smirking.

"I can do it." You said.

"Are you sure? Because I didn't know if you knew how, considering what happened and all." Alec mumbled.

"It's fine."

"And oh, speaking of Beth, how do you feel about shopping?" Alec asked.

"I don't know." You mumbled looking at your hands that were folded in between your legs.

"Welp, you are going to the store with Beth Friday because, Mi Amor, you need clothes. You can't keep wearing my shirts and the same pants every day." Alec said smirking at you.

You blushed, you hoped he didn't notice.

"I like your clothes, they are comfortable." You said swatting his arm.

"Why the hell did you hit me?" Alec asked sounding slightly offended, he sat up straight in his chair.

"Because, I don't need a reason." You said crossing your arms. You both broke out in laughter. You loved his laugh.

"Whatever." Alec mumbled. You were both so wrapped up in the moment, you didn't even realize the lady bringing you your food.

"Here is your drink, and muffin." She said shooting you a kind smile.

You took a sip of your coffee, as the lady spoke again.

"You two are cute together." She said.

You spit your coffee everywhere.

"No, we aren't together." You muttered out quickly taking another sip of coffee. You were blushing so hard you probably looked like a strawberry.

"Yet." Alec mumbled. And you spit your coffee everywhere again.

"I'll get you some napkins." The lady said walking away holding back her laughter.

"What is wrong with you?" You whispered.

"It's the truth." Alec said smirking. That damn smirk.

"You are so red right now." Alec said putting his hand over his mouth to hide his smirk.

"Shut up, Alec!" You hissed covering your face in embarrassment. The lady came back with the napkins, Alec cleaned up the table.

"Was your coffee good?" Alec asked moments later.

"What I had of it." You mumbled, Alec let out a chuckle.

You got up from your table, and Alec opened the door for you.

You started walking towards the castle when Alec pulled you in the different direction.

"Hold on, we aren't done yet." Alec said putting his arm around your shoulder. You just stared at him.

You and Alec joked the whole way there. It was like you were the same. You had fallen for the charming vampire you grew to be best friends with. You thought back to the conversation back at the cafe. He said 'yet' did he like you too?

"We are here, stop thinking." Alec said. You were standing in front of a beautiful fountain. It was rusty and it had red roses growing on the side of it. The moonlight reflected off the water, like a fairytale.

"Alec," You mumbled. "This is beautiful!" You said turning around quickly and you hit his chest hard. You almost fell to the ground, but he caught you and pulled you tightly to his body.

"Careful, Mi Amor." Alec said inches away from your face. The words he spoke, left butterfly's in your stomach. You felt a weird feeling, like everything you felt for him doubled. He leaned his head down, giving you time to pull away, you didn't. He cupped your cheek and he gently pressed his lips to yours. It was sweet and fast like it never even happened. You looked up at his face, making sure you didn't just imagine that kiss.

He leaned his head back down giving you another kiss. This time he put his hand on your cheek pulling your head closer to his. Your lips moved in sync with his. You couldn't get enough of him. You felt all of your muscles relaxed in his embrace as he kissed you. This felt right. Like it was meant to be. He pulled back, because he felt your breathing getting slower.

"Damn." You mumbled. He still held you close.

"How's that for friends?" Alec asked taking his glasses off. You looked into his ruby red eyes, you missed looking at his eyes.

"Am I dreaming?" You asked blinking at a fast rate.

"Awe, you dream about me, Mi Amor?" Alec asked pressing a kiss to your nose.

And just like that, you were a strawberry again. "I-I... Think I actually love you." You mumbled, you prepared yourself for rejection. You felt your stomach turn at his silence.

"Oh, Mi Amor. We were made for each other, it would be a shame if you didn't, but please don't feel like you have to love me." Alec said pressing another quick kiss to your lips. "I'm simply not that lovable." Alec mumbled.

"You are lovable, because I love you." You said smiling softly at him.

"I love you too, Mi Amor." Alec mumbled. "I've loved you since I saw you, hence the name Mi Amor." Alec whispered in your ear.

You were walking back to the castle, hand in hand with Alec's. "Tonight was so awesome, probably the best since I got here." You said looking over at Alec.

"I'll say, finally I got to kiss you." Alec confessed.

"What?" You asked.

"I've wanted to do that every since I saw you standing with Felix, looking like a scared kitten." Alec said smirking at the memory.

"I did not." You said nudging his ribcage.

"You did." Alec said opening the castle doors for you. "But now, my Mi Amor. You're my kitten." Alec said kissing your cheek. You had no words.

"Alec, the masters want to speak with you." Demetri said approaching the staircase.

"Go up to your room, please. I'll be here if you need anything. You need your rest, Mi Amor." Alec whispered in your ear. You had an uneasy feeling, but went. "Be safe." You whispered back placing a kiss on his cheek.

You walked up the stairs and straight into your room. You put on the sweat pants Beth gave you and one of Alec's shirts.

You laid down feelings the happiest you've ever been since you arrived in the castle with no memory. You were truly Alec's soulmate. Everything felt, right.

You fell asleep, but you dreamed about a girl with golden eyes, and skin like Alec's, and a black pixie cut, shopping with you. You were laughing, you were happy. Your eyes shot open. Who was she?

Unloved and Unwanted?

Word Count: 3,395 Felix x Reader Part One. Warnings: Fluff Angst

Y/N was 17 years old when her entire life changed; her mother Molly died in a car accident and she found herself in Forks living with her father Charlie Swan, who she had never met.  Charlie was shocked when he got a phone call from Child Services advising him about Y/N as he didn’t know she even existed. This made it hard for Charlie to accept her; as a result he struggled to build relationship with Y/N once she arrived in Forks. Charlie and Sue were busy working and planning their wedding; leaving little time to help Y/N settle in.

Bella had already moved out as she was married to Edward Cullen and they had a daughter Renesmee. Bella did not make an effort to meet her younger half-sister, choosing to ignore her.

Y/N didn’t make any friends at her new school either, she went almost unnoticed there. She felt truly alone and it only made her miss her mom even more, especially as they had been very close before the accident.

One Saturday morning Bella dropped Renesmee off at Charlie’s for a visit but didn’t stay herself as she had things to do. After a few hours Charlie was called into the station due to an emergency and as Y/N was home he asked her to keep an eye on Renesmee. This surprised Y/N as she had only met Renesmee briefly a few times as she was not included in ‘family time’ during Renesmee’s visits. This led to Y/N staying in her room during Renesmee’s visits as to not be in the way. In fact Y/N stayed in her room even when Renesmee wasn’t around for the same reason.

Y/N and Renesmee baked chocolate chips cookies and watched a few Disney films together, before Charlie came home with take out. Y/N had dinner with them that night but only because Renesmee asked her to join them. Charlie did not engage Y/N in conversation other than to ask about what she and Renesmee did whilst he was at work.

That night when Renesmee got home she told her family about the time she spent with Y/N; how much she liked her and that she felt sorry for her as she had lost her mom. This conversation prompted Bella to finally decide to meet Y/N; six months after she had moved to Forks.

This decision prompted Alice to have a vision;

Y/N was in Italy with the Volturi; more specifically with Felix, one of the elite guards. They didn’t look happy together either with Felix leaving Y/N alone in her room and making his way to the throne room for guard duty.

Felix spending his evenings with Demetri and Santiago playing cards or playing on his computer console with other members of the guard when not on guard duty at night.

Y/N’s room was not very big and was barely decorated and the only visitors she got other than Felix was Gianna, who bought her meals every day, Heidi and Demetri who check in on her.

Edward saw the vision as it happened and knew what he had to; for this solved a problem for everyone, Y/N would leave Forks and live in Volterra. He filled his siblings and Bella in on the plan and they all agreed. “She’ll be someone’s else’s problem soon, Charlie still isn’t warming to the idea of having another daughter around” Edward told them, having read Charlie’s mind the last time he was over there “Bella, you need to befriend Y/N and bring her over so we can inform her about Vampires; the Volturi and her mate” Bella agreed instantly.

Bella met with Y/N at Charlie’s a few days later “Hello Y/N, I’m Bella. I’m sorry for not coming over sooner to meet you” “Hi Bella, that’s ok. It’s nice to finally meet you” Y/N replied “Yeah you too. How are you settling in?” Bella asked “I’m settling in ok, thanks” Y/N lied.

They spent the afternoon talking to each other attempting to get to know one another. Y/N couldn’t help feeling suspicious of Bella; wondering why she came over to meet her and why she was being nice to her after ignoring her the last six months.

The following Friday Bella called and invited Y/N over to the Cullen house “Hello Y/N, I hope you are ok. I’m calling to invite you over tomorrow. I think it would be nice for you to meet Edwards’s siblings” “Err, ok thanks. Sounds nice, thank you” Y/N relied. The following morning Bella drove to Charlie’s and picked up Y/N and bought her back to the main house. When they arrived Bella introduced her to everyone “Y/N this is my husband Edward” She said pointing to Edward “Hello Edward, it’s nice to meet you” Y/N greeted “You too Y/N” Edward smiled “These are my siblings Emmett, Rosalie, Jasper, Alice” He continued; they all smiled and said hello to Y/N and she did the same in return. “My father Carlisle is at the hospital and my mother Esme has taken Renesmee out for the day. Hopefully you’ll meet them next time” Edward added.  

Neither Carlisle nor Esme knew of Edward’s plan or the other’s involvement as they all knew that they wouldn’t agree with or support their plan.

They all sat down in the family room and explained to Y/N that they were vampires and that they feed off of animals instead of humans; hence their golden eyes. They explained that vampires have something called a ‘mate’; one person they would love, protect and spend an eternity with. They also explained that Rose and Emmett were mates; as were Jasper and Alice, Edward and Bella and lastly Carlisle and Esme. Alice explained that her, Jasper, Edward and Bella had ‘gifts’ and explained which each one was. Y/N nodded trying to take in the information so far

Emmett went onto explain about the Volturi who lived in Italy; how they were the rulers of the vampire world enforcing the laws, one of which was that humans were not allowed to know of their existence. “Why have you told me then?” Y/N asked confused. “We have told you about vampires because Alice has had a vision and it showed you with your mate; who is an elite Volturi guard” Edward answered. “What does that mean for me?” She asked “It means that you would need to go to Volterra to be with him. If they came here to check on Renesmee and found out that we knew you were the mate of one of their guards and we didn’t tell them; they would kill us and take you to Italy forcibly” Edward continued. “What is the guard I’m mated to like?” She asked. The Cullen siblings and Bella looked at each other before Rosalie answered her “He is known for being the strongest vampire in the world and has killed many vampires and humans alike” Shock flashed across Y/N’s face at hearing this “The Volturi do not like humans much; seeing them as not much more than their food source. So the news of one of their elite guards being mated to a human will not go down well” Rosalie continued. “He will likely reject you as his mate as you’re human” Bella added “I-If he is to reject me…why does he need to know about me?” Y/N asked. Noone answered her straight away, again looking at each other silently deciding who would answer her.

“As I said before, they would kill us if they found out we kept you from your mate. We can’t and won’t risk our lives for you” Edward replied rather matter of factly; Y/N said nothing. “You need to know more about your mate” Bella added and Y/N nodded, waiting for someone to continue.

“The Volturi do not usually allow newborns in the castle; however, they will make an exception for you…��� “What do you mean newborns?” Y/N cut Edward off sounding confused “Newborns are what newly turned vampires are called” Bella answered her, Y/N nodded “You’ll spend your newborn years in the dungeon and provided your mate remembers you’re down there; you’ll more than likely be taken to a room in one of the towers…where you will spend your eternity once you’re no longer a newborn” Edward informed her “W-Why did you say if he remembered I was in the dungeon?” She asked a little worried “Edward means there are vampires that have been down in the dungeons for decades if not centuries. They kinda get forgotten about” Alice replied quickly “So if I am to be rejected, why would he keep me in the castle?” Y/N asked feeling confused. Jasper answered her this time “Once he meets you the mate bond will kick in and he will feel protective of you and will need to know that you are safe. If a vampire loses their mate they become heartbroken and overtime they fall into a deep depression and he won’t want that; the Volturi leaders won’t want that either as he is too valuable to them. This will still apply even after his rejection of you” “Oh” Was all Y/N could say.

“Some of the Volturi are gifted too, so you won’t be able to run and hide either as they have the world’s best tracker and they will send him after you and he will find you and drag you back to Volterra kicking and screaming if he has to. You’ll also see the cruel side of your mate too if you were to run from him” Emmett added; all of them being careful not to reveal Y/N’s mate’s name. “You leave for Volterra in three days. We have already bought you a ticket and to ensure you actually get there I will accompany you” Edward says. “So I don’t have a choice in this?” Y/N asked “No you don’t!” Bella said sharply. “Edward I don’t think going to Volterra with another human is a good idea. We have letters for her and Aro; I think it’s best if she goes alone” Alice says looking at Edward, who nods “Fine, but I’m taking her to the airport regardless. I’ll pick you up at 8pm Tuesday Y/N” Y/N just nods in response. Y/N made sure to not think about how she felt about this around Edward knowing that he may be able to read her mind.

Later that night Y/N started packing a few things for her trip and couldn’t help her thoughts ‘I find out I have a soulmate; someone who’s supposed to love me forever, only to find out that he won’t want me. He’ll just reject me and lock me away forever. I don’t know why I’m so surprised that someone else who is supposed to love me doesn’t. It’s the story of my life recently, being unwanted and unloved. It’s bad enough I have to stay here with Charlie who doesn’t want me around.’ Tears slipped down her cheeks at the thought of being unloved, unwanted and locked away forever, just to be forgotten about. She cried herself to sleep that night.  

The following morning Charlie opens a letter informing him that Y/N has been accepted into an Art college in Italy and that she is due there in a few days. Alice had put the letter together as a cover story for Y/N to leave Forks. “Morning, Y/N. This came yesterday after I left for work; it’s an acceptance letter for an Art college in Italy. They need you there in a few days so you should get packing” Charlie said smiling as Y/N entered the kitchen “Oh ok, I’ll-I’ll do that” Y/N couldn’t believe the Cullens had faked a letter to get her to Italy; clearly they wanted her gone and soon.

A few days later Edward dropped Y/N off at the airport “Here this is a letter for Aro; make sure to give it to him when you arrive at the castle. This letter is for you to read on the plane, it’s basically tells you what we told you the other night. When you arrive a car will be waiting to take you Volterra. Safe flight” He gets back in the car and drives away leaving Y/N at the airport alone.

Y/N sits on the plane reading the letter addressed to her; and it’s a repeat of the information she was told a few days ago. She thought about not going to Italy but figured the Cullens will know if she doesn’t arrive or they’ll call Aro to check that she arrived so it’s probably just easier to go voluntarily rather than be chased down by the Volturi’s tracker and incur the wrath of her mate.

The plane lands and Y/N makes her way through to the airport to the waiting car “Miss Y/S/N?” The man asks “Yes, you’re taking me to Volterra?” Y/N replies “Yes miss. Get in the car please” The man says placing her case in the trunk. Y/N is dropped off just outside of the town square “The castle is just up there; you can’t miss it as there’s a huge fountain in the middle of the square” “Thank you” Y/N said taking her case from the driver.

Y/N made her way to the town square and sat down on the fountain trying to get the courage up to walk into a castle full of vampires; knowing that once she’s inside she’ll never be allowed to leave. Unknown to Y/N she is being watched by Heidi who has stepped outside of the castle to see if there are any tourists around that she can add to the ‘castle tour’ scheduled for tomorrow. With her enhanced sight Heidi notices that Y/N holding an envelope in her hands whilst looking at the castle and after about an hour Heidi makes her way over to Y/N “Are you ok?” She asks sitting beside her “I think so” Y/N replies sounding unsure. “I’m Heidi by the way, so what brings you to Volterra?” Y/N notices Heidi’s eyes are a lilac colour and her skin is pale but looks perfect, just like the Cullens “I’m Y/N. I’ve been sent here to meet my mate, not that he’s going to happy about it. In fact I’ve been told that…he won’t want me” Y/N says looking down handing Heidi her letter “It’s all explained in here”

Heidi takes the letter reading it and it explains that Y/N is mated to one of the elite guards and as soon as she reads ‘he is the strongest vampire in the world’ she knows who Y/N’s mate is. Heidi frowns as she continues to read the letter as she doesn’t like what she is reading. It is depicting Felix as cruel when he is actually kind despite him coming across as intimidating due to his physical appearance. She also knows that Felix would his love his mate whether she be human or vampire as he has been waiting a long time to meet her and would be hurt if he knew that his mate thought of him this way. “Who gave you this letter?” Heidi asks sounding a little upset “Edward Cullen handed me this letter at the airport for me to read to remind me about what awaits me upon landing here. I also have another letter for Aro” She tells Heidi “How come you showed me this letter?” Heidi asks “You are a vampire and I’m guessing you live in the castle” Y/N replies “How did you…” Y/N cuts Heidi off “You have pale skin like the Cullens and you came from the direction of the castle and you didn’t seem surprised when I mentioned the word ‘mate’ nor when you were reading the letter” “Huh, very true. Would you like me to take you inside to meet Aro?” Heidi asks “I’m not sure if I’m ready to go in just yet” Y/N replies quietly “Ok I’ll wait with you until you’re ready” “Thank you Heidi.” Y/N gives Heidi a small smile. After an hour of sitting on the fountain making small talk Heidi and Y/N make their way into the castle; Heidi taking Y/N’s hand in hers “Do not let go of my hand Y/N” “Ok” Y/N nods.

Once inside the castle Heidi heads straight to the reception desk “Hi Gianna, this is Y/N. I need you to take this to Aro for me please” Heidi says handing her a quick note asking to meet with him, Caius and Marcus and minimal guards as she has a delicate matter to discuss. Heidi and Y/N wait in reception for Gianna to return “Heidi, Y/N, Aro is ready for you and the guards have been dismissed except for Jane and Demetri” Heidi was pleased Felix wouldn’t be in the room during this conversation.

They arrive at throne room “Good afternoon masters” Heidi greets them with a smile “Heidi so good to see you and you have bought a human with you” Aro replies curious. “There is a very good reason for that. This is Y/N and she has a letter for you from the Cullens” Caius’ attention is piqued when he hears the Cullens name mentioned. “May I see the letter please my dear?” Aro asks “Of course” Y/N responds handing the letter over. Y/N and Heidi watch Aro’s facial expressions as he reads the letter and he doesn’t seem happy. “What’s in the letter brother?” Caius asks impatiently; Aro extends his arm holding out the letter for him. “Y/N my dear, when did you learn about us?” Aro asks “A few days ago, I was invited to the Cullen’s house and Edward, his siblings and Bella informed me about vampires, the Volturi and…mates” She answered “Do you know who your mate is?” Caius interjects “Not exactly. I only know that he is one of the elite guards…and is known for being the strongest vampire in the world. Also that he along with the rest of you don’t like humans much…there-therefore he won’t want me…as his mate. I’ve been told that I will be rejected and locked away” Y/N replies not looking at Caius “WHAT?!” Caius screams; Heidi and Y/N flinch at this, Heidi grips Y/N’s hand in a comforting gesture. Y/N’s comment also gains Marcus’ attention whilst Jane and Demetri look on curiously.  

Caius storms down the steps to stand beside Aro “If you know you are to be rejected why did you come here?” Aro asks gently “Edward told me if you found out that they knew I was the mate of one of your guards and they didn’t tell you; you would kill them…and bring me here by force. He said they wouldn’t risk their lives for me. They also said that if I were to run and hide…you-you would send the world’s best tracker after me; who would find me and…bring me here…kicking and screaming if needed and…I would incur the wrath of my mate…who can be rather cruel. I-I figured it was just easier to come here willingly” She replied quietly looking down. Demetri felt himself get a little angry hearing that the Cullens had used him to threaten the human girl into coming to Volterra. “You mentioned being locked away, what do you mean by this?” Caius asked confusion clearly showing on his face “Edward told me that you do not usually allow newborns in the castle; however, you will make an exception for me…that I’d spend my newborn years in the dungeon and…provided my mate remembers I’m down there; he’ll come and get me… lock me away in the tower where I’ll spend eternity once I’m no longer a newborn”

A look of shock crossed the faces of the three kings as well as Jane’s and Demetri’s upon hearing this. “I want you know that I don’t intend to object to the rejection” Y/N added. “Why would you accept the rejection child?” Marcus asks curiously joining his brothers at the bottom of the steps “Not being wanted is not a new thing for me. I’m not going to make someone be with me if they don’t want to be. I have no intention of messing up his life just because I’m not wanted back home either” Y/N replied looking at Marcus, who gave her a small smile.

‘Poor beautiful, broken girl.’ Heidi thought to herself listening to this last part.
