the dead poets & their favourite “the tortured poets department” songs <3
Todd = who’s afraid of little old me? and i hate it here (he cried listening to both of these for the first time)
Neil = florida!!! and who’s afraid of little old me? (loves the dramatic songs that make him feel like he’s been cast as the main character in a film)
Knox = down bad and the alchemy (he’s a hopeless romantic through and through we know this)
Charlie = i can do it with a broken heart and but daddy i love him (puts on over-the-top drunk performances for the other poets when they’re all hanging out on a saturday night)
Meeks = cassandra and peter (loves any song with literary/historical themes and loves dissecting the lyrics for all the little details)
Pitts = so long, london and how did it end? (secretly loves listening to the saddest songs possible while he’s studying)
Cameron = the prophecy and the bolter (pretends he’s not that bothered but secretly can’t stop listening)
BONUS: neil and todd bond over having the same favourite track (who’s afraid of little old me?) but for completely different reasons (for todd it reminds him of growing up as the shy/anxious kid who is constantly underestimated, and for neil it makes him think about his relationship with his dad)

a ramble about arthur's relationship with dutch and hosea
haven't used tumblr in a while (let alone made an actual original post in who knows how long) but i can't stop thinking about that one interaction between dutch and arthur in lakay. specifically: "you sound like hosea." it breaks my heart, because dutch is right in saying that. as chapter six unfolds into the tragedy it is, arthur becomes more and more like hosea, and just like hosea, arthur tries and tries and fails to get dutch, stubborn and single-minded, to see reason.
one of my favourite journal entries, is where arthur says, "i love dutch like a father, but in many ways i love hosea more." arthur loved hosea. hosea saw arthur for who he was. knew arthur wasn't near as dumb as he liked to pretend he was. one of my favourite interactions between arthur and hosea is early on in chapter 3, very shortly after they get to clemens point. arthur walks by hosea sitting at a table, who calls out to arthur and asks what he thinks about dutch's plans. arthur's response is "you know me, i never did much thinking." to which which hosea says one of my favourite lines in the game, and it's a line that gives far more insight into arthur, hosea and their dynamic than you might first think.
dutch was arthur's father in a more abstract way. whether it was dutch's intention or not (and i believe, at the very least, it was later on), i always found his "you're like a son to me" comments to arthur to be very manipulative in nature, meant to reel arthur back in when he's concerned he's "getting away," so to speak. i have personal experience with men trying to get me on their good side by saying i'm like a kid to them, and maybe i'm projecting a little because of that, but the way dutch says that to arthur triggers the same alarm bells in my brain.
again: "i love dutch like a father, but in many ways, i love hosea more." say what you want, but hosea was arthur's true dad. he was his dad in all the ways that mattered. hosea knew arthur so well, he knew arthur was putting on "an angry moron act." in the video i linked, he sounds genuinely frustrated when he continues saying "but it's a thin enough veneer." he knows arthur is capable of more. is capable of being better, and i think hosea knew that things were doomed in the end, whether or not he would admit it.
arthur spent a lot of time, both early in the story and at the end, reflecting on what was happening, on himself, on the other gang members. i like to think he was unconsciously channeling hosea in chapter 6. honestly, the parallels are kind of painful. maybe that's, in part, why dutch was so adamant on not listening to arthur; because he reminded him, painfully, of hosea, his oldest and dearest friend. of course, that's not the only reason, but it makes sense, doesn't it? arthur is so much like hosea, and we see that more and more as the story progresses.

maybe this is a lil controversial, but i feel like as a community we just need to... just stop thinking that stuff we read about shifting is bible, if that makes sense.
you can read advice and follow it, of course!! following advice is great, but shifting is built on the principle of intention and you're own mind. nothing governs that but yourself.
there are no rules, you can do whatever you want, just set your intention.
you don't need a safe word, because if you set the intention you will come back to your cr.
you don't need to script beause if you set an intention of what you want to happen, it will.
as long as you have the intention to shift somewhere, you will. that's as simple as it is, that's the basic principle.

My paired down list of spirit work and death magic. (Obviously this is what works for me and I'm kind of a picky person when I aquire written work)
Physical Media:
Tumblr media
Cunning Words: A Grimoire of Tales and Magic by Marshall WSL (This one I pre-ordered and haven't gotten through the whole text but it's a good read. It incorporates the art of story telling with distinct spells and magic. I think it's very unique but I wouldn't recommend it unless you want something with flavor)
Riding the Bones by the three little sisters (this one is an anthology of particular practices from different walks of life pertaining to death and transition. I've only read a few of the stories but for what it's worth I think its good insight)
Botanical Curses and Poisons by Fez Inkwright (I only list this because it's always good to know what's good and bad for you. Know what can kill you and you can probably avoid it)
The Bones Fall in A Spiral by Mortellus (again I've mentioned this before but I think this is a good work for someone getting into the field and needs someone that's direct and experienced in what they do. One of my favorites.
Consorting with Spirits by Jason Miller (I feel like this is a staple of the craft and while I personally don't connect with the material it works and it has some good points)
Metamorphosis by Ovid (I think it's always necessary to deal with primary texts. Go with the classics. Ovid has a beautiful way of writing and you get to really understand the stories and myths that spirits of the dead living etc are connected to and if you do any deity work I highly recommend it.)
Of Blood and Bone by Kate Freuler (I have mixed views on this one. some of the stuff is informative and it provides some good spells, but it lacks transparency and depth. I find Mortellus book far more student minded.)
The complete language of flowers by S. Theresa Dietz (if you work with the dead, deities, spirits or hey plant spirits. Chances are you've come across Victorian flower language. I use this book as a reference guide for symbolism/folklore/ and as a way to connecting with spirits)
Encyclopedia of Spirits by Judika Illes (hey no library is complete without an encyclopedia. I personally like this one because it's very indepth without being too overwhelming. Not sure where to go? Just pick up this book and you can do more indepth research later. It's what it's there for. Reference guides are one of my favorites.)
Okay that's it for my physical media.
I also have a list of digital copies I keep.
Morbid Magic by Tomàs Prower (I think if you buy any book from this collection buy this one. It gives you an over all guide of most death practices around the world)
Historical:
Death, Dissection and the Destitute by Ruth Richardson
The Work of the Dead by Thomas W. Laqueur.
(I list these because they are a good source guide to how we treated the dead and spirits in the past. It's always important we learn from those that came before us.)
Greek Customs: (if you're going to do any type of work with Greek chthonic deities I suggest these three articles/books. I'm not saying its mandatory but these are very helpful guides to understanding ancient thought and how to bring them into today.)
Burial Customs, The Afterlife and the Pollution of Death in ancient Greece by Francois Pieter Retief and Louise Cilliers (free on research gate)
Underworld Gods in Ancient Greek Religion Death and Reciprocity by Ellie Mackin Roberts
Inner Purity and Pollution in Greek Religion Volume 1 by Andrej Petrovic and Ivana Petrovic (this one's my personal favorite)

vbs sleep schedule hcs!! (mostly vibes based ngl)
kohane
good and not awful sleep schedule!!
sleeps in a starfish position (super spread out)
like she may be small but she’s taking up all the space she can get
she’s a really light sleeper so she needs an extra hour of sleep compared to most people to not be tired during the day
she has the most vivid dreams ever
if she’s dreaming she’ll also talk in her sleep. in her dreams she’ll be saying real words but irl she’ll be saying complete nonsense
an
she’s used to waking up early to help her dad with weekend garage
moves around A LOT like she will never wake up in the same place she fell asleep
an could take a ten minute nap and still wake up on the other side of the room
she used to sleepwalk a lot when she was younger, she still does sometimes but it’s not as bad
one time she sleepwalked directly into a lamp (this for sure never happened to me idk what you’re talking about)
has on multiple occasions woken up in the middle of the night from falling out of her bed. sometimes she would fall asleep again immediately in the middle of her floor
she’s a really deep sleeper though. she could sleep through any noise ever. she sets many alarms because of this
akito
horrendous sleep schedule
like he canonically naps at school my guy is NOT getting enough sleep
doesn’t move around in his sleep but he kicks. like a lot
if he leaves extra pillows or plushies on his bed overnight they will be on the floor by morning for sure
because his sleep schedule is so bad he can literally nap anywhere at a moment’s notice
pretty sure it’s canon that he wakes up super early
toya
night owl!!
if he could he’d regularly sleep as late as possible and get up as late as possible. but alas he has responsibilities
when he was a kid he was 100% the kind of person to stay up late reading under the covers using a torch for light
he can lucid dream. in fact 99% of his dreams are lucid dreams. he hasn’t had a regular dream since he was 12
he will either sleep in literally the corpse pose or the most uncomfortable position you’ve ever seen but either way he won’t move an inch till he wakes up
he often wakes up with his limbs being numb from literally sleeping on top of them
maybe i’m making this up but i swear it’s canon that he’s really flexible as well?? which is just more opportunity to sleep in abnormal ways

i still hate the "activists" that throw tomato soup or whatever in artworks at museums. like what are you even trying to do other than force workers to clean your mess. i also don't get the relationship between art and the right to eat good food or to protect the environment, which is what these ppl advocate for. maybe i'm just not seeing the logic here but it doesn't make sense to me.
and by the way, i totally support acts like burning down statues of colonizers. yet that is not the same thing as white ppl (from what i've seen) throwing food at art, imo.

I just read another fantastic post that among other things, talks about the parallels between Sigma and Chuuya (I’ll likely reblog it in a moment) and it made me want to talk about them. So.
I speed-read the bsd manga in like a day and one of the first things that struck me when Sigma showed up is actually how similar he was to Chuuya, and how many parallels they had! It actually made me start shipping them really strongly despite them not having had any actual interactions with each other yet, but this post isn’t about shipping, so. I’ll put that aside for now.
Lots of people have talked about it already but the first obvious parallel is the way they both have a very nebulous relationship with their own humanity. Chuuya and Arahabaki; Sigma being born from the book... they’re also both lacking childhoods to some extent as well, Sigma most of all. So they have similar backstories.
But more important is the way they’re both looking for a place to belong - and that they’re continuously being used by others. Chuuya is used by the sheep and the mafia, Sigma has been used by pretty much everyone his entire life... and this is imo consciously acknowledged by the author especially in the prison break arc at the moment. Chuuya and Sigma are literally paralleled as being the “pawns/pieces” of Dazai and Fyodor’s plans, playing almost identical roles on opposing sides, and I think that that’s done on purpose. Of course, as it turns out, Dazai isn’t only using Sigma for his power, whereas Fyodor very much sees Chuuya as nothing more than a tool, so there’s a key difference there, too...
I’ve been thinking about the differences between them too, though, and one thing that struck me was - Chuuya tolerates and accepts being used, where Sigma rejects it. Chuuya genuinely seems to be comfortable with his role in the mafia and doesn’t even really hold a grudge against the sheep for using and betraying him earlier. In contrast, Sigma is desperately fighting so that he won’t be used by other people anymore - this is a little muddied in that he did go along with Fyodor’s plans in order to get a home, and was letting himself be used in that sense, but right now in canon he’s completely turned against Fyodor and has made it very clear that he intends not to be manipulated anymore.
I’d honestly really like to see some fic that played with those differences and similarities between them a bit. Like maybe Sigma realizing how similar they are, and trying to push Chuuya to stop accepting the ways he’s used by other people?? On the other hand, Chuuya seems to have found a home in the mafia as well, or at least believes he has, whereas Sigma is still searching, so that’s another thing that could be touched on as well.
Idk. I know I’m just repeating what a lot of people have already said so maybe this post is pointless otl, but. I’m really excited for them to finally meet in canon, because there’s so much potential between them that could lead to some really cool stuff!
Tl;dr sigchuu is superior >:)

LCB Characters: Age theory
I don't know if we'll get anything to confirm these like we did for Ruina, but a friend and I were discussing the possible ages for the Limbus characters, referencing source material if possible
Yi Sang: 23-ish, a nod to the author he's named for, and his official dossier describes him as the "youngest" chief researcher
Faust: Mid 20s, no real evidence one way or another for her
Don: Either 21-22, or 28, she's very youthful, but given her source material she could be older than she looks
Ryoshu: 24-ish, about middle of the road, no real evidence to suggest her age one way or another
Meursault: Same as Don, either 22 or 28. The Stranger references M. Meursault to be a "young man" so he could be younger than we interpret him to be
Hong Lu: Around 21-23, given his everything he's probably at least among the younger half of the Sinners
Heathcliff: Late 20s if not 30, hard to pinpoint but in Wuthering Heights we know he's not a young man by the time we meet him, but this version of him isn't the terrible father yet.
Ishmael: Mid 20s close to 27, not much evidence for her, but we know she's been at sea for half her life so she can't be terribly old
Rodion: 26-28, no real evidence, she just strikes to be of the older half of the Sinners
Sinclair: 20, but barely, we know he's the youngest, but PM lore confirms Fixers have to be at least 20 to even apply. Unless he's lying about his age somehow
Outis: Mid to late 30s, we know she's up there in age, and was probably in the Smoke War which was 11 years prior to LCB's start, definitely the oldest
Gregor: Early to mid 30s, again the Smoke War puts a better idea to his age, also NPCs have described him as "old"

it's not that deep but the ground is soft and all that jazz, so i desperately wish to do a loose rewrite of wyll's arc because there are so many little details that could be added to make it hit harder. just. agh. so many gaps. so much potential. angst and headcanon bait practically.
how were the first days of exile for him? who were his childhood friends and where are they now? how much does he truly believe some of the stuff he says, and how much is just for the show? how does he truly feel about his father in arc three and after the game ends (depending on your choices, of course)? what is his relationship with his body like after it's been changed? you can literally go so deep.
my man barely is barely given the opportunity to acknowledge any conflicting emotions that he might have about things from his past without player input, and i get that it's so that your special little tav guy can feel even more special by helping him, but i'd personally prefer to see him struggle without that kind of guidance

what’s ur d20 campaign rankings as of rn !
okay i wrote this in the break room so it's not legally binding and is subject to change but i THINK my ranking (with miniature explanations) is this:
1. a crown of candy - need i say more? truly iconic. truly tragic. everything i look for in dnd. haunts me to this day
2. fantasy high - it's so much fun. it's the og. it's the reason for my url. it introduced ayda aguefort to the world. really that's all that needs to be said
3. the seven - i fucking LOVED the seven so so so much. maybe my favourite crew of PCs in all the seasons ever
4. coffin run - coffin run doesn't get a lot of love but i am suchhhh a halloween vibes bitch it was truly impeccable. i LOVED jasmine as the dm and everyone's characters
5. mice and murder - i also love whodunnits. this dynamic of players was also hilarious and it being most peoples first time playing like made it even better
6. the unsleeping city - had a lot of cool arcs had a lot of cool characters weirdly i was just not very compelled by it? but undoubtedly hilarious and had really cool battles
7. starstruck - had some of the most iconic PCs in d20 history but then in the same party some i literally did not care for at all. had some incredible moments i still think about
8. neverafter - i liked this! just never Loved it, you know?
9. bloodkeep - second season of d20 i watched ever. where my love for rehka shankar began
10. misfits and magic - aabria is SUCH an incredible dm but some PCs didn't get as much attention as others and i definitely noticed lol
11. ravening war - i really thought i would be obsessed with this but i actually still haven't finished the last two eps. BUT what i did see i really enjoyed and the battles were great
12. a court of fey and flowers - ALSO never finished im sorry guys high society is not really my thing but some dynamics were so cool to see and explore
13. shriek week - DID finish this it was good but like. not long lasting in my mind
14. tiny heist - ALSO didn't finish this sorryyyy it was just never my vibe
15. pirates of leviathan - never even started this which is a tragedy in and of itself

More Scarian/Third Life Robin Hood AU
I've figured out the Royal Court
Let's start with the most obvious,
King Mumbo
He's currently the King of the Kingdom (I haven't named it yet, suggestions are welcome)
He's away at war
He's Ren's older brother and Grian's cousin
He's a good king, if a bit bumbling sometimes, and is loved by his people
He left Ren in charge until he gets back
He's Aroace so won't produce an heir making Ren the next in line
Speaking of Ren...
Prince Ren/The Red King
Ren is next in line to the throne and will get it when Mumbo dies
He is Mumbo's younger brother and Grian's cousin
He is in charge while Mumbo is away
He is a bit of a tyrant who always thinks he's right and wants everything done his way
He absolutely despises Good Times and wants him arrested as quick as possible
He is very protective of his family and friends
He lives in Dogwarts Castle
Ren calls himself the 'Red King' to show his authority until Mumbo is back, his court has been unaffectionately nicknamed the 'Red Army' because of this, Ren just rolled with it
The Resistance is hoping to either reform him or have him give up his claim to the throne
Ren is dating his closest advisor Martyn
Martyn/The King's Hand
Martyn is partners with Prince Ren
He is also his closest adviser and has been given the title of the 'King's Hand'
Ren also made him the Sherriff of Crastle village, the small town just outside Dogwarts Castle and he is in charge of catching Good Times
Martyn is extremely protective of his partner Ren and doesn't fully trust anyone else
He's very suspicious, especially of Grian as he sees the way he has interacted with Good Times and is unfortunately very insightful, this is a great source of worry for Scar
Prince Grian
Grian is cousins with the King and Prince, Mumbo and Ren
He is third in line for the throne which is what earns him the title of 'Prince'
It also means that Ren has him near constantly surrounded with guards because he will be king if anything happens to Ren which makes him cautious about Grian
Grian fully resents this and is trying to give his very tired guards the slip at all times, he actually has a lower number of guards than he used to thanks to the amount he's made to resign due to being an absolute menace
He is against Ren's ideas and jumps at the chance to help the Resistance and he definitely isn't even the tiniest bit influenced by how extremely attractive Good Times is, no, not at all, he has no idea what you're talking about
Grian is on Ren's council and pretends to support him, only pushing back slightly and rarely outright opposing him
He acts as a spy for the resistance, giving them as much information as he can and doing his best to help if any of them get caught along with his two ladies in waiting, Pearl (who he grew up with, they're like siblings) and Lizzie (a noble woman and 'ex-fiancé' of Joel, an old friend of his who defected from the Red Army and joined the Resistance)
He is head over heals for Scar and won't admit is despite being constantly teased about it
Grian is childhood friends with Pearl, Joel and Jimmy
He is also trans and everyone supports him, no misgendering in my AUs
He is still almost always wearing a skirt, he just likes them and trans Grian in a skirt is just so perfect lol
Pearl and Lizzie
Both of them are Prince Grian's ladies in waiting
Pearl and Grian grew up together and are practically siblings, they live eachother and are very protective of the other
Lizzie is the 'ex-fiancé' of Joel, a lord who betrayed the Red Army and joined the Resistance, in reality they are still together but Lizzie has to pretend to have broken off the engagement in order to stay in the Royal Court
Both of them work alongside Grian to spy for the Resistance and help them out wherever they can
Impulse
Impulse is the castle craftsman/blacksmith, he basically makes all of their weapons
While he is fairly loyal to Ren, but is more loyal to the villagers and will put them before Ren if it comes to it
He sometimes creates weapons for the villagers and if he knows that some of those might go to the Resistance? That's no-one's business but his
He is on Ren's Council due to his skills in weaponry
Impulse is best friends for Bdubs, when he was just starting out as a craftsman he made them matching clocks
Etho
Etho is the Head of Ren's guard
He is known for being silent but extremely intelligent and deadly when he needs to be, he doesn't often say much at council meetings but when he does it's always with good insight
He is the most loyal to Ren aside from Martyn
He is childhood friends with Bdubs, Skizz and Tango
Etho is married to a villiager from Crastle named Bdubs and, though they live separately, it's a very happy marriage
Skizz
Skizz is one of Ren's closest guards
He is fiercely loyal and will protect the king at all costs which is what has led him to being on Ren's Council
He absolutely loathes Good Times and will often take lead in trying to take him down, especially if Martyn is busy
Skizz is determined and will follow orders at all costs
He will run to Ren's side to protect him at any sign of danger, he is almost like a bodyguard to him but not quite
He's very jovial around friends but brutal with his enemies
Skizz is childhood friends with Bdubs Etho and Tango
BigB
BigB is a particularly wise noble staying at Dogwarts who is loyal to Ren's cause
He will often give good advice to Ren and is one of his most valued advisers because of this
He gets on well with Prince Grian and will often agree with him on not acting too hastily and trying to protect the villagers in plans to take down Good Times
He doesn't agree with the Resistance but sometimes think they have a point, however, he is very against how they get it across
BigB gets on well with Prince Grian but is unaware that he is a spy
So, there you have it, the Royal family and the King's Court

with the news of most things being a reflection it makes sense that there are two versions of quackity. how does that play into the code monsters and osito bimbo tho ?
my theory is that it is all some sort of simulation linked to what luzu is trying to do. the codes are errors caught in the crossfire trying to warn others because they don't know exactly who is doing what. osito bimbo seems to have multiple (?) personalities and moods so it would make sense that they are some sort of robot that there's multiple of. and if we follow the line of logic that this is a broken code the fact that there are two quackitys adds up to a breach in the system.
of course with what happened to felps today it could be that luzu and the federation are somehow tied to the same goal. osito bimbo from the start has talked about the island like it's perfect and it could be that it was designed to be that way. everything is mirrors so it's all equal, and the main federation member is a stark white color. everything that we've seen that doesn't belong in an island setting has been a stark contrast to the surroundings. the eggs also follow this train of thought. the eggs were given to the players by the federation to be taken care but the question is how did the federation know about the dragon and the eggs? they have the participants easy access to something they knew would get pressed. which doesn't make any sense?? like if they didn't want the rule to be broken they didn't have to add the button. it would make sense that it was all manufactured so they could give the eggs to the islanders. the islanders take care of the eggs and do everything with them. if the eggs were also some sort of code planted to study the islanders it would make sense for why the button was added.
i don't think that quackity is involved in any of the bad things going on but i do think he might be an unknowing participant or victim.

WHY I THINK CARTEEK IS THE MOST REASNOABLE, HEALTHY CARTMAN SHIP-An Essay
**DISCLAMIER**: I've never done anything like this before and like I state throughout this essay, a lot of the evidence presented is a stretch, but I still really like Carteek and wanted to talk about them!! If anyone has any opinions on this whether they agree or disagree, I would love to hear it! I'm respectful of people's opinions on here and respect if people don't like this ship but I think it's dismissed to freely without being thought about.
When you think about it Carteek makes way more sense than popular Cartman ships like Kyman or Cutters because out of all the kids in South Park, it can most likely be said that Cartman is the nicest to Tweek.
Tweek is probably the kid in South Park that Cartman treats the best when it comes to the main 5 and then Craig's gang plus the girls.
We already know how he treats Kyle.
It can be said that he's pretty nice to Stan and Kenny but even then, he's done shit to them.
He's stated that he hates Craig before and then took his birthday money from him. (there's probably better evidence than that but I can't think of it)
He's pretty racist towards Token but I can't really tell if he's being mean or if he's just dumb.
He's pretty nice to Clyde to but then there was that pirate episode where he made him cry.
He stole Jimmy's fish sticks joke and manipulated him into thinking that he came up with the joke. He also beat Jimmy up when he was trying to be nicer to Kyle in Casa Bonita.
He was manipulative towards Heidi and we all know how he feels about the rest girls...
But the worst thing he's ever done to Tweek is probably when he got Craig to wear a Buddha Box and even then, it wasn't necessarily towards Tweek. He talked to Craig about getting away from his parents and relationships (I mean it could be said that this is directed at Tweek but then again, Craig has other friends, so it doesn't necessarily have to be his romantic relationship) but then when Craig started complaining about Tweek, Cartman went back to ignoring him.
Tumblr media
(Like literally Craig, I love you and I get it but...shut up!)
But anyway, Cartman was not going to listen to Craig talk about his crush like that but that's literally the worst thing I can think of. And there's plenty of evidence that supports Cartman having a crush on Tweek.
GNOMES:
When Tweek is first introduced we see both Kyle and Stan complain about Tweek but Cartman doesn't say anything mean about him which is odd because... come on, it's CARTMAN.
Specfically:
Stan: Oh no, not Tweek.
Kyle: We don't want to be in a group with Tweek.
Mr. Garrison: There's nothing wrong with Tweek, I'm sure he'll do a great job in your group. (period Mr. Garrison)
Stan also says: Dude, we can't work with this kid.
Yet Cartman stays slight for once.
Then when they're working in their groups Cartman's the only one who believes Tweek about the underpants gnomes by saying:
Tumblr media
He's so cute about it too. And the whole time during this scene he was just sitting there with a cute smile on his face.
Then when they're all at Tweek's house when Tweek's worried about his parents going out of business, Cartman out of all people is the one who attempts to comfort him when Kyle quote on quote, tells him not to worry about it.
Tweek shaking to death in the corner of his room: What if my parents go out of business? What'll I do?
Kyle's dumbass (affectionate): Don't worry about it.
Tweek: But we'll die and starve like dogs.
Tumblr media
Kenny: Fuck you.
Cartman laughing: You suck Kenny.
See, Cartman made an attempt, as lazy and rude as it was, to make Tweek feel better and I actual feel like it was a genuine attempt, and that Cartman was just being stupid so it didn't really seem helpful. Plus, the attempt was made while ripping on Kenny, someone who it can be is one of Cartman's closer friends. So, it could be said that Cartman was showing off in front of Tweek.
My last piece of evidence from this scene is when they finally see the underpants gnomes and Cartman hits the one who's been stealing Tweek's underpants on the head with a stick.
I may be stretching this a little too far, but I like to view it as Cartman protecting his boyfriend from those thieves. And then when Kyle asks him why he had to hit the gnome on a head with a stick, Cartman stutters over his words, like he's trying to find an explanation that won't get him outed.
Tumblr media
And that was just in Gnomes which was Tweek's first interaction with the main 4 plus his first actual episode. There's plenty of more examples of Cartman having an obvious crush on Tweek.
The next episode I can think of is Professor Chaos where they ultimately end of picking Tweek to be there new friend. Even more specifically near the end where they're down to the last five contestants. This may also be a stretch but...
Cartman thinks Towelie is awesome, but Kyle eliminates him since he's always high
Cartman calls Timmy self-absorbed
Cartman calls Token a smart ass
I think it was pretty safe to say that Pip wasn't going to be their new friend since they got mad at him at whatever game they were at and plus, the hate that child.
So, it may have just been foreshadowing since Tweek was the only one who no one said anything about, but I would just like to point out that once again, Cartman said nothing about Tweek.
I just find this very interesting because Cartman's very opinionated and doesn't spare people his opinions. I love Tweek but it's obvious that he has obvious flaws, and I wouldn't be surprised if something was said about Tweek. Stan and Kyle have said some pretty rude things about Tweek before (which hurts my Steek heart) but Cartman hasn't which I just can't get over.
So, in the end, they pick Tweek as their new friend.
The next piece of evidence is once again, a bit of a stretch but sometimes you just gotta pull that evidence in your favor. In the next episode, The Simpsons Already Did It, Cartman gets upset when his fish people things don't work.
Tumblr media
You may see this as plain rude, but I see it as Cartman of all people being the only fucking person in that entire town that cares about the fact that Tweek walks around with his shirt buttons mismatched so his bare stomach is exposed when it's fucking snowing outside. He's only angry because he cares about Tweek and doesn't want him to freeze to death.
The next example I can think of is in Bebe's Boobs Destroy Society which is a pretty obvious example. When the boys meet at the restaurant, Cartman decides to kick Kyle out of the group first, over Tweek who's been there the least amount of time. You could say this is due to the fact that Cartman does not like Kyle but when I first watched this episode, I was pretty sure Cartman was going to kick Tweek out. But he didn't. Because he loves him.
This example is yet again, another stretch but also in Bebe's Bobbs Destroy Society, after Cartman gets kicked out of the group, he goes to the bus stop where the boys are with Bebe and gets upset again, stating:
Cartman: That's fine, that's fine! Fuck you Kyle and fuck you Stan!
Cartman walks away before walking back up to the group
Cartman: Fuck you, Tweek!
Tumblr media
You have to look deeper here. Cartman is obviously hurt that Tweek didn't fight for him to stay in the group and was debating on whether he should call Tweek out on it or not. That's why he didn't flip Tweek off at first but then he changed his mind because Tweek upset him.
The next example is also pretty obvious and comes from the episode Child Abduction Is Not Funny where the boys go to the movies and Tweek freaks out over a new ticket booth man. Cartman expresses his concern for Tweek with the following comment:
Cartman: God, what the hell did his parents do to him?
Whether this was meant as a joke or was sincere, it's unclear but I like to think of it as the latter.
After that it is assumed that Tweek was kicked out of the group or just stopped hanging out with Stan, Kyle and Cartman since Kenny was reintroduced and he wasn't seen with them anymore.
Another example I can think of is another stretch and supports the fact that Cartman and Tweek are friends more than it supports Cartman's crush but it's from Tweek x Craig when Cartman is questioning Tweek and Craig's relationship. Afterall, it can be said that Cartman is the reason that Tweek and Craig ended up together since he had Cupid-Me shoot them with his arrows. Like I said, it doesn't really support Carteek romantically as much as it does support Carteek as friends but it's still nice since Cartman wasn't just thinking of himself in this episode. He even stated that he cared about the town when he went to Cupid-Me at the bar and told him that the whole town was depressed that Tweek, and Craig broke up.
The last example I can think of is, you guessed it, a stretch but comes from Put It Down, where Cartman expresses concern for Tweek (I don't know if this is what he was actually doing or if he was just annoyed with Tweek but let's go with the first one) and tells Craig that he needs to get Tweek to get a hold of himself.
So in conclusion:
Carteek needs more love.
I've literally seen people who ship Kyman out of all the Cartman ships they could ship, say that Carteek sucks. You guys can't be talking, and this is coming from someone who's favorite ship for both Cartman and Kyle is Kyman.
I also don't want to see anymore fanfics where Cartman and Tweek hate each other and where Cartman bullies the hell out of Tweek because it's very overused with very little canon back up besides the fact that Cartman's a bully. Sure, he is a bully but it doesn't seem to be that way when it comes to Tweek.
Although there's not really any canon facts that support Tweek liking Cartman (especially that one scene), I still think it's very cute when you think about one-sided Carteek on Cartman's side.
Tumblr media
(Which I really don't understand Tweek because he's never really done anything to you... well maybe except for when he forced you to spend your night making paper hats, but you never sleep anyway so...)
Tumblr media
I think when it comes to a lot of Cartman ships, people automatically dismiss them because of Cartman himself and yes, when there's ships like Kyman and Cutters (once again, not hating because Kyman is my OTP and I ship Cutters too) which are obviously not that great when it comes to how Cartman treats Kyle and Butters, but Carteek seems to be different.
And yes, it's fun to ship Kyman, it really is since they have such a weird dynamic with each other so maybe a ship like Carteek may not be as interesting to some people seeing that Cartman is actually pretty nice to Tweek, but I think that's what actually makes it interesting. Cartman isn't nice to anyone, not really even his mom and even though Tweek and Cartman have minimal interaction with each other, there's plenty of evidence that shows Cartman's attraction to Tweek whether it's just as friends or romantically. I mean, come one Cartman wasn't even as nice to his own girlfriend as he was to Tweek.
But it's very hard to tell when Cartman is generally concerned and when he actually cares about someone, so you really have to put some pieces together when it comes to this evidence. Sure, Cartman might come off as rude when he says stuff like "God, what the hell did his parents do to him?" but I like to see it as him being genuine.
Obviously Tweek is my favorite character and Cartman is in the top ten and I have a habit of shipping my favorite characters together because... well that's kind of how it is the most time but unlike my OTP, Steek (even though I could probably find some evidence if I put my mind to it) and Twenny, Tweek ships that don't really interact with each other, I find Carteek to make a lot of sense.

to parents
My parents were almost as kind and accepting as any lgbtq-kid could wish for. When I came out as non-binary, my mom gave me a hug and my dad a pat on the back. That however did not mean they started using the right pronouns, or later when I told them about a new name that I wanted to try out, they did not call me that. There was never really rejection/unacceptability, but rather a lack of awareness and the actions that came with it, sometimes felt like rejection.
For my generation, when you tell someone about a new name, the next obviously logical step is for them to start calling you by that name, it’s like a built in habit. But not with my parents, like i said, there was just a lack of awareness and knowledge and so they just continued referring to me by my old name. Only when I explicitly told them that I wanted to be called by this new name, they actually started using it. Though my father didn’t at first, his reasoning being ‘but she also listens to her old name, so why should I?’ Now that feels like rejection. But that was just from the lack of awareness, he didn’t not realise how important it was for trans people to see the new name get accepted (and with that, eventually being used as well)
So to parents, regardless of the fact if your child is out, or part of the lgbtq-community, please educate yourself. Get some basic knowledge, groundwork so to speak and know the meaning of ‘standard’ lgbtq words like homosexual/heterosexual/bisexual and cisgender/transgender.’ My parents didn’t even know what transgender meant precisely, let alone the meaning of a more specific term such as non-binary, that alone adds a whole new layer of difficulty, that combined with that everyone expresses their label(s) in a different way, like I’m a very masculine non-binary person whilst others are more feminine or more androgynous.
My parents didn’t understand me, they still don’t understand and I don’t think they ever fully will because cause this is such a unique, personal experience
(Even as fellow non-binary/trans person, you will probably understand the most out of everyone but still it’s slightly different from person to person) but they understood even less because of that lack of awareness and knowledge. So to parents, please educate yourself on themes like these as they are becoming more prevalent in todays society, keep up with those things, like one would keep up the news.
There will I think always be this gap of understanding between generations, later in life I might find myself in a similar position like my parents now, but I hope at least that with every generation, the previous one will be outfitted with more tools to gain understanding and knowledge and have the knowledge lead to acceptance. Because giving a hug or a pat on the back isn’t enough, with acceptance must come action.

part of the problem with dominant ideology surrounding the gendering of sexual abuse is that men are not given the space to discuss the violation of their gender by sexual abuse in the gender-affirming ways that are afforded to some women by the feminisation of sexual abuse by patriarchy.
i am hesitant to claim this is something more people should seek because on its own speaking of ones experiences of sexual violence as gender affirming does nothing to limit sexual violence in practice, and only allows us to challenge the silence imposed on us by the more dominant notion of sexual violence as degendering. that is to say its direct effects are limited to discourse, particularly to the 'unclogging' or reterritorializing of flows directed by ideology. but it is also arguably a necessary step to break the silence this way.
because can any challenge to this silence be classified as such? is to overcome the shame of speaking out about sexual abuse youve experienced, to speak shamlessly, or in the intent of becoming shameless, to do so in a gender affirming way? in a context of patriarchy it sure would seem to be the case. whether youre a man woman or creature of other sorts.
but i think sexual abuse will outlive patriarchy, maybe even gender more generally. not in our lifetimes in absolute terms, but even now i think its important to recognize the means we employ to organize one struggle can lead to problems in organizing another. and idk if seeking gender affirmation and seeking shamelessness are separable enough at the moment for anyone im really just throwing this out there to keep conversations going
