If you are an ethical vegan, how many times did you have discussions with non-vegans about not supporting zoos? How many reasons did you manage to identify? Which sort of counterarguments did they use?
In this article, I list ten compelling reasons why everyone, not just vegans, should not support zoos and public aquaria.

Many foods are rich in calcium, and many do not contain dairy. This may be good news, particularly for vegans and lactose-intolerant people who cannot fully digest dairy products.
Calcium is essential for general health. According to the National Institutes of Health (NIH) in the United States, most adults aged 19–50 require 1,000 milligrams(mg) of calcium per day.

I felt rather frustrated today. The topic of veganism came up before my yoga class and I felt like I was talking to a wall, like people half-listened while thinking about what they were going to say back.
I feel like this very often, it’s as if there was a barrier, a canyon between vegans and non vegans. Hell, there are even divisions between vegan activists, other vegan activists and non-activist vegans. It’s very difficult to have an actual conversation where you can fully express yourself without worrying about offending someone else.
Things took an unexpected turn today, though. The person I mostly discussed veganism with at yoga reached out later and said that although they joke a lot, they still respect my views. This led to a rather insightful and respectful discussion on veganism. Of course, neither of us changed their mind, but it was nice to be able to talk about it.
Every time I have this conversation with a non-vegan I feel I am bastardizing my own views, because I always end up choosing between being firm but coming off as aggressive and preachy, or giving up at trying to convince the other person and just nodding in ‘respectful’ disagreement.
I don’t think hating other humans is the path that will lead us to a more fair world. But I also die inside every time I think that my conformity is allowing millions and millions of animals to die each single day.
Is there such a thing as a middle way? If I stand up for what I believe in, I’ll be labeled as aggressive and judgmental, and people will leave me behind. If I don’t stand up for what I believe in, I betray myself and every single animal dying needlessly.
Have you ever encountered anyone who uses taste as an excuse not to stop harming someone? Or as an excuse for not progressing morally? Or as an excuse for not becoming vegan?
In this article, I devise the ultimate vegan answer to the common remark “I like the taste of meat” people say as an excuse for not becoming vegan.

Some tips for reducing your fast fashion consumption!💚♻️
------------------------------------
Unfollow fast fashion brands on social media (e.g Topshop, Bershka, H&M, etc). You can even block them if you you don't want to receive ads. ----------------------------------------------
Focus on your own personal style rather than following trends. Not only is this a lot more fun, it also means you will value pieces you already own and love a lot more. ----------------------------------------------
Buy second hand. Although charity shops (thrift stores if you're not a brit🤣) can be great, I understand that a lot of the time they don't have the cutest stuff. So if you're looking for items a little more tailored to your personal taste I would recommend using apps like Depop or Poshmark. I would also strongly recommend visiting your local vintage shop (if you're lucky enough to have one) because not only will you be supporting local business, they will also have some really gorgeous pieces. ----------------------------------------------
Share and borrow clothes from friends. Let's say your going to a formal event and you need to a dress that you'll probably wear rarely, if ever again. Why not just ask around to see if anyone will lend you something? Not only will this save money, it's also a lot less wasteful. ----------------------------------------------
Buy from brand that are dedicated acting sustainably and ethically. This can be tricky as we live in an age where brands are incentivized to green wash their products without making any actual change for the better. It can also be expensive as producing clothing in a way that that minimises harm is much more costly than a fast fashion business model. However I will recommend to you brands like Lucy and Yak and Big bud press as trustworthy labels. ----------------------------------------------
I don't know if I can justify eating meat anymore. I can't even look at a super cute cow gif without feeling intense guilt and sadness. Thinking of becoming an ethical vegetarian or vegan?
