I think what bothers me about the whole Natsuo thing is he's yelling at Dabi about "causing all this trouble", while Endeavour - THE DIRECT SOURCE of every single problem the Todoroki family have ever had, the sorriest excuse for a father EVER - is right there. Nobody's saying Dabi is an angel, but Endeavour's the one who should go to hell.
that's true anon! i guess the opposing argument would be ‘well enji hasn’t killed anyone’ but like i dunno, i really do think in this case in particular that it should all be looked at as a contained, todoroki family problem, just like you mentioned. dabi has committed a laundry list of atrocities (and he should go to jail for them), but at this current moment that is unfolding within the manga, it isn’t really about that. it’s more about the fact that he’s quite literally on the verge of killing his parents, and that’s what i interpreted natsuo’s whole ‘stop causing trouble’ line to be pertaining to, especially when looked at in conjunction with fuyumi’s dialogue.
so like, when we’re looking at it in that context, it sucks and it hurts, because enji is the root. i’m not saying abuse is a valid reason to go fucking psychotic and start murdering innocent people, but like you said, ENJI is where it aaaaaaall stems from. enji is, ultimately, the cause. ‘dabi’ wouldn’t have ever been a thing had enji been a decent fucking parent.

Letters to and from a Soldier
Part of the "Well... aren't you a pretty doll?" Series.
Army Soldier Midoriya Izuku x Secretary Reader
Tumblr media
Context: War has separated you and your husband but your hearts forever stay with one another.
Note: Set in the 1940s/1950s
[PART 4] [Well… aren’t you a pretty doll- Masterlist]
To my loving wife,
I pray that you are well. It has been too long since I have seen your face and I think about you of every second of my waking state and for every moment that I close my eyes. Although my heart longs for you, this is no place for you nor any sane man. The front is just as bad as we thought it would be, but we’ve got a tough group of men here.
Sargent has me staying close to him, for strategy is a game of the mind and not of strength, however I wish I could be out there with my brothers in arms. I do know however, that you would much rather have me stay away from conflict, which is the only good settlement I have in my heart.
I am so glad that you said you were well in your last letter. Funny enough, some days I can go an entire two weeks without receiving a letter from you, only to receiver eight letters in bulk a day later. I worried for you. I know it was not long that we were married and living together, and now we are so far apart. I wish for you to be safe, my love. Stay close with your girls and look out for one another.
I am glad Enji is keeping you busy so you don’t have to worry about me too much. You’re a smart woman, doll. I know you can handle whatever that man has in store.
Now I know I ramble off too much. Sargent says I write too many letters and sending off a letter per day is a waste of paper but I can’t help it. Writing to you is the only time my thoughts reach a point of sanity and relief.
Doll, I love you more than words can say and miss you more than the air I breathe.
Fighting hard for you,
Your husband, Midoriya Izuku
To my darling husband,
Not a single day goes by that I don’t think of you. I know you tell me not to worry, but Izuku, I just can’t help it. It’s hard being so far away from you, knowing where you are and the nightmares you face everyday. I worry that you aren’t getting enough sleep nor enough energy to carry you through. Take care of yourself please, my love. If I can’t be there to take care of you, I need you to do so in my place.
It’s nearly your birthday. I hope my letter came with my little present. It isn’t much but I hope you like it. Its’a handkerchief that I embroidered just for you. I hope it serves you some sort of purpose, I had your mother give me some string to allow me to put it all together for you. She sends her love as well. She’s decided to stay with me and Mina till you all get back, which is much of a relief to me.
I surely have no idea how Mina can do it, but she’s holding on strong. Can you believe she is already six months on? The baby is starting to move and Mina believes it’s a girl. Your mother is giving her a lot of advice and I’m learning everything I can from her. She’s just wonderful for us here. We’re helping some of the other mothers that are here so that they can be strong too. It’s hard now that all of you men are gone, there’s so much to be done and so little of us left to do it but we are holding on strong. We’re making sure your uniforms get to you and so does everything you need.
Mr Todoroki is leaving tomorrow to head to the front to where you are. I convinced him to give you my letters and gift (for the price of some biscuits, which I sincerely hope you get a taste of).
They hit the power stations three nights ago. It’s been dark ever since so I’m writing by candle light at the moment. Our bed doesn’t feel like it should without you here, but I’ll keep it warm for you.
Faithfully waiting,
Your loving wife, Midoriya Y/N
To my loving wife,
I apologise for my lack of letters that you might not be receiving. We’ve been moved to another part of the country so there was not much time to sit down and write to you, nor to get my letters sent properly. It’s been a tough few days out here. Some of the men are sick with typhoid fever, but luckily we’ve had a rather calm few days. The nurses here are working hard for all of us. Especially for poor Kacchan. He managed to save some of us from a landmine, however it seems as though his hearing has been significantly impaired. I stay by his side every moment I can.
I keep your handkerchief in my breast pocket everyday and look at it as I think of you. I pray that you are well and that you are safe. Sometimes I wonder what monsters created war and why they themselves do not fight in it. However, I am just a soldier, I am just a man, and thus is my duty to defend my country and defend you.
You saved me, my love. I wasn’t able to write to you the past two weeks as I was in recovery too. I got shot at (don’t worry, I am doing well, all limbs attached and all). The bullet just managed to hit the locket instead of me. However, now I am stuck with a rather impressive scar but a broken locket.
Love, I have some reason to believe that you should get Mina, Okaasan and the girls and head out of town to Okinawa. If there is one place I know is safe, it is there. Don’t ask why, don’t hesitate either. I pray you receive this letter before it happens.
Eijiro can’t write at the moment, he injured his hand while trying to hold up some rubble to help some injured soldiers escape, but he sends his love to Mina and the little one inside her. I send my love too.
Please, once you get this, get out of town as fast as you can.
Write me a letter when you’re out.
I hope to see you soon.
Your worried husband, Midoriya Izuku
To my loving wife,
I heard on the radio about the bomb.
Dear God, I pray you had escaped before then. It has been three weeks since I sent that letter and I still have yet to hear back from you. I can only pray that you are safe. There isn’t much paper left this side, but Sargent said that we’ll receive orders on what next we should do.
I can only imagine how horrifying it must be.
I’ve heard the nukes they use is powerful enough to that our enemies are playing God, however, I doubt God is as cruel.
Eijiro worries for you, Mina and the baby and so do I.
Please write back to me when you receive this.
Your worrying husband, Midoriya Izuku.
To my darling husband,
I apologise for not being able to write to you. The train down to the coast and the boat trip to Okinawa was one where I could not even sit down to think.
You are a blessing to my life, Izuku. We managed to make it out just in time. It was the night before when we got on the next train down to the coast when we had heard of the bombing near town. Your mother nearly fell in relief. We all managed to get out, thank goodness but I can only pray for the poor souls that didn’t. I think of you everyday and I wish I could accept you into my arms.
I heard we were surrendering. Is it true?
I wouldn’t be surprised, but after all the work you men did these past months, you all deserve to come home.
Tell Eijiro, he should be glad to know that he is now the proud father of a baby girl. She was born just a few days ago. Mina was as tough as can be and the baby is as healthy as a horse. She’s the cutest little thing with big ruby eyes and dark hair. She looks just like Eijiro too. She decided on one of the names Eijiro liked. Yuna. Kirishima Yuna.
Oh she’s the most beautiful little thing in the world Izuku.
I’ve written our new address at the bottom of the letter. The money I managed to save up from your paychecks and savings was more than enough and we still have some savings left too. We’ve got a good little apartment here next to Mina’s. They said it will just be temporary until treaties have been settled, so I wonder where we will go next. Despite everything, I rather do like looking at the sea. I’ve met a few army soldiers that say they’ve met you.
You don’t know how proud I am to be your wife.
I’ll be waiting for you.
Your faithful wife, Midoriya Y/N
To my darling husband,
I heard you’ll be coming back anyday now!! I sure hope that you’re on the next ship over! I can’t wait to see you!
I’ll be waiting on the docks for you.
Your faithful wife, Midoriya Y/N

New Baby Pt. 1 | Yandere!Todoroki Family x Reader
Tumblr media
Inspo: @i-cant-sing
You weren't woken up by the familiar sound of a heart monitor or the chatter of nurses. You were woken by something much more unexpected.
You felt the sun's shining warmth against your face. Someone was gently attempting to shake you awake. Their hand felt huge in comparison to your shoulder and you fought to get yourself to wake up.
"(Y/N), it's time to wake up now." A deep voice told you when you let out a tired whine.
Finally, your body cooperated and allowed you to flutter your eyes open.
You immediately took in the stranger sitting in the bed beside you, then the pastel bed sheets and the feeling of silk pajamas that you definitely weren't wearing the day before.
You scrambled back in shock, your mind screaming danger.
This wasn't the hospital and the red-haired man sitting in front of you was neither a nurse or a doctor that you recognized, and he wasn't wearing anything that told you he was a medical professional.
He didn't seem very shocked at your behavior either, just a little worried.
"Who are you?!" You asked, now standing at the opposite side of the queen sized bed you'd just been sleeping in, "And where am I?! This isn't the hospital!"
Your heart rate was picking up and your chest was beginning to hurt. You knew that you needed to sit down but how could you when you'd just woken up in a strange place with a strange man?
The man didn't answer either of your questions, only glancing at you in concern, "I'll answer your questions, but you need to sit down and lower your heart rate before you pass out."
How did he know about your heart condition, you wondered. Was he actually a nurse?
No, that couldn't be right.
You were very obviously in someone's house; most likely his.
Taking a deep breath to calm yourself, you asked again, "Who are you and where am I?"
You could tell the man wasn't happy about you not sitting down but he relented, "My name is Todoroki Enji, but you will address me as 'dad'. And we're in your room in our home."
You faltered at the new information and shook your head like it was reflex, "You... you're not my dad though. My dad looks nothing like you... What's happening?" Tears welled in your eyes, anxiety springing back into your body, "I want my mom! Please take me back to her!" You pleaded.
Enji only sighed, softly shaking his head, "I know this a lot to take in, but this is your home now. Your biological parents decided to leave you in our care-"
"No!" You snapped, "No, they didn't! We were supposed to go to the movies today!" You recalled the day prior and gripped at the silk cloth over your chest, heart drumming and chest beginning to grow tight, "Tak-" You gasped out, "Take me to my parents! Right now! Right now! Right now!"
Enji stood up at your screeching and your voice got caught in your throat.
He was so large and intimidating. He could probably kill you with ease.
And having that knowledge in mind had you second-guessing if you could just scream your way out of this situation.
"(Y/N), I will not tolerate this behavior. Either you calm yourself down or you can take a nap and we can try again later. What will it be?" He questioned.
Oh, how you really did want to calm yourself, but how could you?
It felt like someone was squeezing your chest like a tube of toothpaste. No matter how hard you tried to take a deep breath, your lungs remained clamped shut like a clam.
Heart drumming in your ears, your sight blurred significantly and spots began to decorate the fuzzy world around you.
Next thing you knew, your knees buckled from beneath and you dropped to the ground like a ragdoll.
Enji cursed under his breath, strolling around the bed and settling you back under the pastel comforter.
He knew you wouldn't take any of this easily, you were young after all, younger than Shoto, now that he was thinking about it.
But he was sure that once you met the rest of the family, you would warm up to them in no time.
Once he made sure that you were sound asleep, he left your room and was immediately greeted by the rest of his family gazing at him expectantly.
Shoto glanced up from his phone, "That didn't sound too good." He commented.
Rei stepped forward, hand clutched to her chest worriedly, "Is my baby okay? She sounded so upset."
With a nod, Enji explained that your first awakening went just as smoothly as he thought it would, "I'll make sure to show her the 'letter' her parents left for her. Hopefully, she'll be more at ease around us thinking that her parents really did leave her in our care."
Rei gave an agreeing nod, "Absolutely, anything to get her to trust us."
Natsuo grumbled, clearly frustrated, "Damn, I was really hoping we could meet her today and have dinner together like a family."
Fuyumi kept a hopeful smile on her face, "Don't worry, she'll be ready tomorrow and we can have a nice breakfast together! Right, dad?"
"Of course. (Y/N) is the key to fixing our broken family. She'll be ready tomorrow." He said knowingly.
They quietly left your door, leaving you to sleep for the rest of the day.
You'd need your energy for tomorrow.

bimbo reader
that’s it
Bimbo reader is such a delicious thought but I can't decide who to pair her up with becayse everyone sounds so good, like-
Bimbo reader and Enji Todoroki? Mhmm yesss because old man needs to spoil some clueless bby and consensually take advantage of her (not exactly seggs) but also take care of her to feel better about himself- feel that he's needed. He just needs someone who doesn't hate him and won't yell at him or tell him that "it's 2023, you need to stop with your sexism" just because he prefers to pay your bills and wants you to cook him warm meals🥺
Bimbo reader and Dabi? Yes because Dabi absolutely needs someone he can be mean to (he 1000% reduces you to tears) and still have them love them. You can't ever be mean to him, not even when he hurts you, not even when he threatens to leave you (even if we all know he wont), you still cling to him, still look at him that he hung the stars for you and still always say "thank you Dabi!" with a big smooch to the lips, be it in bed or after he "saved you from autistic clowns who were going to molest you" (some guys just looked in your direction).
Bimbo reader and Theodore? Amazing because Theo both loves you and hates you, cause he knows you can't help it but omggg how dumb do you have to be walking alone in a shady dark alley at 2 am after clubbing???? You're so fucking lucky that you have him looking out for you, tracking every moment of every second of yours. And he's also very lucky that you're so incredibly dumb and ignorant to see that the "mysterious stalker" and Theodore are never in the same place together...
Bimbo reader and Gojo + Getou? Yesss because why wouldn't two powerful men who hate humans absolutely tag team a beautiful reader who is so beautiful and ignorant and just begging to be taken advantage of? You should be glad it's them who have decided to take you- they're the good guys. They could always show you pervs would do to you if you insist.

PLATONIC YANDERE TODOROKI FAMILY HEADCANONS
Tumblr media
You are the youngest sibling and they are INSANELY OVERPROTECTIVE of you
They won't micro chip you and all that shit, but... for your safety, they will insert bugs in almost ALL of your electronics for your safety, of course. They don't want their youngest sibling/child to be in any danger now, do they?
Rei likes braiding your hair and Fuyumi likes dressing you up which by the way, she thinks looks ADORABLE on you
Natsuo sometimes gives you shoulder massages while eating and Dabi/Touya likes feeding his youngest sibling. The brothers think that you're a delicate precious little angel that needs constant attention or they'd get themselves injured
The whole family loves to SPOIL you to death
Shoto would be breathing down your neck every second of the day he can; sitting close to you or holding your hand whenever he can
If you're angry about something, say, you didn't win something though you've worked really hard for it? Surprise, surprise! You're now the winner of whatever contest you've recently entered. Someone making fun of you constantly? Bones will be broken and NONE of them will be from YOUR family
Believe it or not, Endeavor actually has a soft spot for you. He NEVER yelled at you, nor did he ever raise his voice at you, like AT ALL (Lol, I can't believe I'm writing this since I know this ain't gonna be true but put up with me peeps)
When Enji's not around, and you're throwing one of your tantrums, big brother Touya will come to calm you down. And you do. At the sight of his music playlist (Which btw the ENTIRE family has composed ESPECIALLY for you WITHOUT any cuss words. They don't want their baby cussing)
No one cusses while you're around
However 2 things are off the table for you. One, no hanging out with boys other than your brothers. If you are spotted hanging around them, well... they can say goodbye to a couple of bones and you'll get your favorite things taken away from you by Enji and Rei though it breaks everyone's heart to see you pout and sulk and cry, they have no choice to do it. It's for your OWN good you know and two, NO going ANYWHERE without one of them being there to supervise you. Who knows what sort of trouble you'll get yourself into and after all, the outside world isn't safe for an innocent precious naive angel like you
One day, you and Touya had gone to a concert since your favorite band had come to town. You guys had left in the morning and returned just before dinner. Enji and Rei were getting anxious about where your brother had taken you for so long. Fuyumi and Natsuo were texting Shotou back and forth about you, but he only told them that they will be returning soon and Shoto was repeatedly calling you but you didn't answer since you put your phone on silent. Since that day, Enji and Rei didn't let you go out for concerts IF you didn't place your phone on silent AND ANOTHER sibling of yours had to be around you the next time you were alone with Touya
Natsuo once saw you cut yourself accidentally while cutting some vegetables. After that you weren't allowed to be in the kitchen while Rei was cooking and BOOM, what a shocker, the ENTIRE FREAKING house was baby proofed as well (good luck)
They might ''accidentally'' hurt you just to keep you 'safe' at home. Why go out where there are SO MANY dangers when your family can protect you from them? Besides, it doesn't matter if you ran to Enji to escape them. Sure he could keep them away from you for some time, but he's a pro hero that's needed in the country every day. So once Enji's out of the house, they'll have to lecture how how being a tattletale isn't good for you
Like I said before, INSANELY POSSESSIVE and OVERPROTECTIVE ASF

some my hero academia men (pro heroes) trying their hand at pegging ♡

Tumblr media
characters: small might, endeavor, sir nighteye, hawks
content: nsfw, pegging, sub!heroes, afab!reader, fem!reader, strap on, safe word-ing, healthy sex, fluff
Tumblr media
small might: he is very nervous at first, mostly scared he might feel pain but you make sure to vanish all his worries away. lubing his ass took some time, because that area has never been explored before, not even by toshinori. “let's put that ass to use, shall we?” you tease playfully as you push your strap carefully and slowly inside him. he was laying on his tummy and he couldn't help but moan into the pillow he was holding onto for dear life, you pushing your way through his tight walls so slowly was painful yet satisfying. his toes twirled the more inside you got, gasping english expressions such as "oh-my-god" or "shit". once you filled him up entirely you made sure to check on him. "babe, are you okay?" he flashed a thumbs up at the question "can i move?" you saw him nod, he seemed so quiet, from embarrassment probably "don't worry, mommy will make ya feel good", you gently began to thurst into him, catching a pace you were both comfortable with, you couldn't see it right now but toshinori was already so sensitive and overstimulated, all of his senses were on peak, you weren't even going fast but your thrusts didn't last long. "california, california!" he moaned his safe word. toshinori let out a huge sigh when you stopped moving, he wished he could continue, he wished he could take all of you, but it was too much, he was too nervous. he hid his face with embarrassment as you pulled out from his ass carefully in a slow motion "i'm sorry... i really wanted to do this, but i'm not ready" "don't be sorry, silly! we can try this again when you are. you still took a lot in so bravely like the good boy you are, i'm proud of ya', babe."
endeavor: "i swear if i don't like this..." dealing with a man whose fragile masculinity was as high as his ego, wasn't easy we must admit. you both agreed to try this sometime despite enji being somewhat puzzled about the thought of a woman fucking his ass. it just sounded so... unnatural. but things change, todoroki, now you are laying on your tummy beneath (y/n) as she gets your ass ready for what's coming. "you can always safe word if you want" "yes, whatever...". once ready, you slowly introduced yourself into his tight hole, giving yourself support on the hero's lower back. with the face buried in the pillow, enji remained quiet, he didn't seem bothered at first, but as you fastened you pace, you dedicided to ask "enji, are you ok?" but you didn't receive a clear response, as far as you were worried, you rubbed his upper back with gentleness "enji-?" you stopped speaking when you saw the man rested the side of his face on the pillow, that was something you've never seen before, his face tinted in crimson red, teeth clenching and eyes frowned from complete arousal, you could swear you saw some tears threatening to fall off his eyes. before you could ask anything else, the todoroki lifted his hips towards the strap as he gripped the sheets, looking directly at you "d-deeper, please". a devilish smirk appeared on your face at the view "you naughty little thing" you said as your hips thrusted further and faster, stealing moans and incoherent pleas and sentences from the man each second, "you like your ass being fucked so much you can't even formulate a coherent sentence. number one, i'm going to have to teach you a thing or two about speech~". enji fantasizes about this everyday now.
sir nighteye: he is shy okay? but not innocent. mirai had already fantasized about you pegging him but he remained uncertain about how he should ask you and explain the huge strap on he bought for you to use on him. certainly he didn't expect to be roughly pushed to his desk, legs being spread open as you placed yourself behind him. "h-hun i'm not sure if we should do this here..." he tried to get any excuse to try and stay reasonable but having his chest pressed against the desk, wrists being held against his back and a boner aching inside his pants made the task difficult for the hero. the strap was recently bought and it was in his office, he didn't even get the chance to drop it home and wait for you to talk about sexual intimacy. you were there to supposedly drop some paperwork at his agency and go back to work but your day turned out to be much more interesting the moment you asked your partner what was inside that purple bag next to his chair. "oh come on, both of us have the most busy schedules already, we barely spend time home. consider this your lunch break~" your hands released mirai's and unzipped his pants, shamelessly pulling them down along his underwear, his legs were tense as arousal spread to every corner of his being. you reached the bag and took a view "wow look at the size, you even bought lube too. shit, aren't you ashamed of being this perverted, mirai?" you mocked as you squished his slim ass, he shut his mouth at the motion, he prayed to everything to not be caught like this, it would ruin him completely. and you knew it. playing these risky games pushed both to a new adrenaline level. you took your time to finger his ass to get it ready for the big thing, so the moment you put the strap and introduced it in him, it slided perfectly. you took it slow of course, mirai rested his forehead on the desk moaning softly trying to get used to the feeling, you had to cover his mouth after a while, you could really get caught for how loud he got. it was a better sensation than he expected.
hawks: i can't stress this enough: hawks. loves. anal. play. he finds way more satisfaction and fulfillment playing with his ass than just orgasm to genital stimulation so the strap idea came to him early. having him laying on his tummy for you for the first time was such a view, toned back adorned with wonderful crimson wings, lower back arched and hips lifting for you, silently pleading for your attention. keigo's body was tense when you first introduced the strap, but on the inside, he was very excited; you have played with his ass before so he entirely trusted you to move forward. "my little bird, how is it going?" you ask, griping his hips tightly and sliding in him so slowly and romantically passionate "oh, it's great, babe. fill me up, fill me up with your cock~" he pleads with a smile adorning his face "yeah? you want mommy's cock? will you be able to handle it?" "yes, yes! all of it, please- i'm your good boy, i can handle anything you give me~" his words almost made you melt, he was adorable when he begged for you like that "okay, if that's what my sweet boy wants, who am i to refuse?" those were your last words before giving your loving boyfriend the night of his life, full of pegging and pleasure just for him ♡.

Oh my goodness gracious me, more todoroki drama! What are your thoughts on this chapter from your translations?
I'll forever be heartbroken at the panel of the happy family minus shoto.
I don't have a ton to say. We got like one flashback and 10 seconds of story. But I do think a lot of people are sleeping on what's happening in this chapter. It's a chapter about the Todoroki family, particularly those who are NOT Enji, Shouto, or Touya (well okay, maybe a bit about Touya, too). No, I don't mean that Enji or Shouto are being excluded as some sort of message. I mean that the other characters also need their moments to further their own arcs.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
All the characters who expressed their regrets in the above scene are now showing up in chapter 388 to confront their demons (although I do think there is a translation or update issue regarding Rei's panel in this version of the page.) Note that Shouto had no regrets to express regarding Touya and was instead called "his family's hero" because of his desire to rescue all of them. Shouto has no place in this chapter specifically because it's about the family's regrets towards Touya.
So their actions in this chapter are meant to reflect each of their regrets.
Enji, who harmed his family, is now trying to protect them all and take all the damage unto himself.
Rei, who felt powerless in her situation and was repulsed by Enji and her children, takes responsibility and apologizes while actively pushing her way onto the battlefield to use her power to cool down Enji and Touya.
Fuyumi, who kept up appearances that things were fine even when she knew the family was falling apart, expresses her repressed thoughts and her desire for the family to actually be okay by begging for no one to leave (it's hard to capture the nuance of what she's saying literally in Japanese, something like "Don't not be here, don't go away.")
And Natsu, who regrets brushing off and not confronting Enji or Touya before it was too late, directly tells Touya to stop bothering everyone. (Now, the nuance here is probably dicier to explain, but essentially there is an implied note of selfishness being attached to Touya's actions, even if Touya's feelings are justified. This is a collectivist society sort of thing, but think back to when Katsuki mouths off to Fuyumi and Shouto for talking about sensitive subjects where those uninvolved can hear. Basically, Natsu is saying Touya should find a way to deal with his problems himself rather than making them problems for everyone else--and let's be real, Touya's currently threatening other people's lives because of his personal problems.)
The paradox is that Rei, Fuyumi, and Natsu are all expressing their honne, their true feelings. In Japan, to the rest of the world you are to present your tatemae, which is your polite mask or the character you are assigned to play in any situation (Fuyumi would have her teacher persona with her students, for instance). People are only supposed to express their honne to those very close to them, with the most common example being: their family. The Todoroki family has been forced to hide their true feelings over the years even from the rest of their family, and now they are finally getting to express everything they bottled up. So while it may feel like some of the things they say are cruel or selfish, this is actually meant to be a sign of love. They are in a situation where they feel comfortable enough with their family and even compelled by the dire circumstances to reveal their honne. Honne are SUPPOSED to be selfish and rude. To express one's honne is to express how close one is with the person who hears them. You can even see Dabi as Touya's tatemae, and the Touya we see in the panel at the end is his honne finally coming out.
And that's the crux of how I view this now infamous final panel. It's a reflection of the family coming together by expressing their regrets. It's a symbol of the people they could have been if only they could have dealt with these things in the first place. They are healing in this moment. They are healing as a family and as themselves. And now Shouto, who has already gone through that same process in the Sports Festival, is going to come in and be his family's hero once again.

Something to pay attention to is how Tenko and Touya grew on this kind of families that followed the traditional role of the father as the leader of the house, holding the power, making the rules and the choices, while the mother was relegated to a second place of caring for the children in the terms the man stipulated and keeping the house in order.
Rei and Nao were treated by her husbands more like subordinates taking orders than mothers that should have equal saying when their kids and their house are related to the problem. Whenever you are trying to study the Todoroki and Shimura family, you need to acknowledge they had a bad power dynamic based on misogyny and strong patriarchy.
Nao and Rei were victims of their husbands too, explicitly in Rei's case and implicitly in Nao's case. In both stories is mentioned that Enji and Kotaro held all the economic power of the family, which if you remember is the main reason behind Rei and Enji's marriage happened, and a (probable) factor behind why Nao's parents didn't interven for Tenko's sake, since it was not their house per se but Kotaro's. In both cases we can appreciate the way Nao and Rei are ignored and dismissed as authorities in their own houses, treated as more an employee than you know, a woman who has equal part as a head of the house. And in both cases the story goes as far as to show us how Hana and Fuyumi couldn't get Touya and Tenko's pain beause they didn't receive the same treatment from her dads, which was not a good thing at all but rooted in their misogyny; Enji and Kotaro'd ignored their daughters too, not caring if they were as rebellious as their sons, because in their minds the girls were just girls and well, they weren't a big threat. Hana resorted to lying in fear of her dad punishing her and becoming invisible almost whenever her dad was mad, while Fuyumi was pushed away early on and had to fulfil the mother role once Rei couldn't be there anymore.
That is the house Tenko and Touya grew up in, that's the house that abused them and their mothers and their siblings for years and years. Tenko says it explicitly: this's the house my father made, and Touya calls out his mom when she tried to act as an authority in the house: I know you married my dad for money and we are simply experiments so don't act like you you have any control here. It'll do you good to you all to remember the kids do not know their mothers challenged their fathers for them, they feel betrayed by their moms without understanding their situation or why things are like that (they are only kids!) and Rei and Nao were not perfect, they have a part in how things went down, but you can never ever compared them to her husbands without acknowledging any of this.

Baby Shouto and Baby Fumikage absolutely having beef with each other because the other stole their nii-san away from them. Touya sees Shouto, the brat that was always clinging to him before, toddle after Keigo because oooh pretty hero with pretty wings, must touch. Keigo sees the moment Fumikage accepted Touya into the family, proudly stating "Yes, brother. Excellent choice of mate. He will be a fine wielder of darkness" while Touya beside the small child with a straight face continues with: "Bow peasant, the world will learn to fear Fumi-chan and I."
They don't know if they want toukei to break up because while their favorite person would pay attention to them again, their second favorite person would also disappear and the children can't have that. Tis' the start of years of beef with each other all the way until highschool, where a teenage Shouto can be heard in the Sport Festival - in front of countless cameras - screaming about how his brother got stolen by an emo bird. That's his sad backstory now. Enji who? Shouto lives for spite and revenge towards the teen who took, and is continuing to take, his nii-san's attention.
A very smug Shouto is seen with a shit eating grin when he won a place above Fumikage while Fumi thinks about how he should've just made toukei break up years ago.

Keeping up with the Todorokis or, just me observing the Todorokis in the various volumes: Volume 1
So this is nothing else but a collection of informations, volume by volume, about what the Todorokis do in the story or which info are revealed about them and so on.
PREMISE
WHAT ARE THE TODOROKIS DOING AT THE START OF THE STORY AND WHICH ARE THEIR AGES?
Todoroki Enji (轟 炎司): He’s working as a Pro Hero under the name Flame Hero: Endeavor (フレイム ヒーロー  エンデヴァー) as well as owning a Hero agency, Endeavor Agency (エンデヴァー 事務所 ‘Endeavor Jimusho’) and he’s considered the Number Two Hero of Japan. Born on 8th of August he is 44 in Chap 1 & 45 in Chap 5.
Todoroki Rei (轟 冷) née Himura Rei (氷叢 冷): Recovered at Fujitani Hospital (藤谷 病院 ‘Fujitani Byōin’). There are no info about her age. She might be around 3-4 years younger than Enji as the other parents are shown to have this or more age difference, but this is just speculation.
Todoroki Tōya (轟 燈矢): Assumed dead his whereabouts are unknown but he probably already went by the name of Dabi (荼毘 “Cremation”) and was training his Quirk and keeping his eyes on his family and, especially, on his father. As there are no criminal records on him, it’s possible he wasn’t a Villain yet and Dabi was just the name he used, not his Villain name. Born on 18th of January he is 22 in Chap 1 & 23 in Chap 5.
Todoroki Fuyumi (轟 冬美): She might have been already teaching in an Elementary School… or she might have started doing so from chap 5. Born on 6th of December she is 21 in Chap 1 & 22 in Chap 5.
Todoroki Natsuo (轟 夏雄): For chap 1 to 4 he’s in his last year of high school, from chap 5 he should have started his first year of university attempting to major in public health (医療福祉 ‘Iryō fukushi’ “Medical wellfare”). Born on 1st of July he is 17 in Chap 1 & 18 in Chap 5.
Todoroki Shōto (轟 焦凍): For chap 1 to 4 he’s in his last year at Corusan Middle School (凝山 中学校 Corusan Chūgakkō), from chap 5 he is in his first year at U.A. High School (雄英 高校 ‘U.A. Kōkō’). Born on 11th of January he is 14 in Chap 1 & 15 in Chap 5.
WHO ARE THE TODOROKIS STARRING IN THE VOLUME?
Todoroki Enji: Chap 1 (background), Chap 3 (exposition)
Todoroki Shōto: Chap 5 (he’s there but he’s not shown)*, Chap 6, 7
* In theory we should have seen him when the inside of the class was shown but, since Horikoshi hadn’t decided yet on which will be the seats of the characters and will therefore change them later on (and changes them even in this same chapter), Mineta is sitting on his seat.

WHAT HAPPENS IN THE VOLUME?
ENTRANCE EXAM ARC (Chap 1-5): Chap 1 to 4 (and a bit of 5) cover the year that takes place prior to Midoriya entering in U.A. high school, chap 1 taking place the second week of April, when school year begins, then in chap 3 on February 26th there’s the entrance exam and, one week later, Midoriya receives the letter of admission. They’re kind of a prequel to the whole story which, mostly takes place in the following school year and, partly, in the one after it and focus mostly on Midoriya Izuku (Deku) and Yagi Toshinori (All Might), introducing Midoriya’s mother, Inko, and Midoriya’s childhood friend, Bakugō Katsuki. The Todorokis have no real place in this arc, beyond introducing Enji as the Hero Number Two.
In fact, in chap 1, in what’s supposedly the first day of his third year of middle school and, therefore, in the second week of April, while Midoriya is going to school, at 8:14, we can see an image of Endeavor on a giant screen, while he’s sitting on a chair and talking.
Tumblr media
Also due to the colouring his Hero costume appears different than the one he’ll wore later.
Tumblr media
This is clearly his prototype costume, which he shared in the "Ultra Archive" book, along with the prototype description
Tumblr media
We can't say if the scene we see is a commercial, a picture or something that’s happening in real time, just that he's seated and talking and there seem to be an image, possibly a video, behind him, but the fact that his image appears on a TV screen with his name being reported on it, tells us he’s a person important enough to end up on TV and the fact that superimposed to the image there’s what clearly looks like his Hero name also informs us he’s a Hero and how he’s called.
It’s a pity that the anime removed this bit, replacing the TV screen with a commercial, as it’s cool setting information for the story.
In fact in chap 3 we’ve Midoriya giving us further information about the worldbuilding, which lead us to learn the Flame Hero Endeavor (aka Todoroki Enji, though his name isn’t given yet) graduated at U.A. High and is the man who resolved more cases than anyone else in history.
‘Jiken kaiketsu-sū shijō saita! Nenshō-kei HERO “ENDEAVOR”’ 『事件解決数史上最多!燃焼系ヒーロー「エンデヴァー」!!』 “The highest number of cases solved in history! Combustion Hero ‘Endeavor’! !” [Chap 3]
Tumblr media Tumblr media
On a sidenote the fact that Endeavor is called 'Nenshō-kei HERO “ENDEAVOR”’ (燃焼系ヒーロー「エンデヴァー」 "Combustion hero ‘Endeavor’") instead than the usual 'FLAME HERO ENDEAVOR' (フレイムヒーロー エンデヴァー "Flame Hero Endeavor") seems to imply Horikoshi didn't decide yet on his full Hero name...
Also, although this time they were colored correctly (but the coloring for chap 3 was done much later), the chest area on his Hero costume is still the same as in the prototype.
QUIRK APPREHENSION TEST ARC (Chap 5-7): This arc focuses on the first day of Midoriya Izuku at U.A. High and to how his class, class A, meets their homeroom teacher, Aizawa Shōta and skips entrance ceremony and guidance session to immediately have a Quirk apprehension test.
Todoroki Shōto is in the same class as Midoriya so technically he takes active part to what’s going on in this arc but he’s barely shown through the three chapters, only managing to appear in the background for a grand total of three times (2 in chap 6, 1 in chap 7).
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Chap 5 goes so far as to avoids showing him when representing the inside of the class, also due to how Horikoshi isn’t showing the students in what will become their assigned seats, likely because he hadn’t decided on them yet (in Japan seats are usually assigned at the beginning of the year based on the students’ numbers), and we only see glimpses of him in the other two chapters. We know though he got second place in the test, ahead of Bakugō but behind Yaoyorozu Momo.
Tumblr media
BATTLE TRIAL ARC (Chap 7-11): Chap 7 contains the beginning of a new arc. It takes place the second day of school, shows the students of class A having English lessons in the morning, eating at the cafeteria and then informs us that, in the afternoon they’re supposed to have Hero basic training with All Might and, more specifically, they’ll have battle training and, in order to do it, they’ll wear their Hero costumes which were designed in accordance with the special request form they filled before being admitted. Once the students are done wearing their costumes, they're meant to join All Might on "Ground Beta" (運度所 β 'Undosho β').
By the way, the anime shows us the seating of everyone in the class.
Tumblr media
We can see Shōto is in the seat number 15, in the last row and, next to him there are Yaoyorozu Momo (seat number 20) and Satō Rikidō (seat number 10), while in front of him there's Tokoyami Fumikage (seat number 14).
MORE ABOUT THIS ARC IN THE NEXT VOLUME
HOW ARE THE TODOROKIS DRESSED?
Todoroki Enji is only shown in his Hero costume... though the one he's wearing is the prototype version.
Tumblr media
Todoroki Shōto should have been in his school uniform for some parts of chap5 to 7, though in them he’s never shown wearing it, and the same goes for how he should have worn his Hero costume in chap 7. The only glimpses we’ve of him show him in his gym suit.
Tumblr media
IS THERE MORE CONTENT ABOUT THE TODOROKIS?
Todoroki Enji is among the Pro Heroes depicted on the cover.

Beautiful Winter and the Daughter’s Role
Fuyumi’s name means beautiful winter. She takes after her mother and, like Rei, is expected to be a Yamato Nadeshiko and uphold the family into which she marries. While the academic paper I linked earlier doesn’t say or imply this, it’s likely that a primary reason the firstborn daughter in many of the researched families moved away from the family is because she moved into her husband’s household to support his parents and her and her husband’s kids!
But Fuyumi makes a sacrifice in the absence of their mother and the first son - she chooses to stay in her father’s house to take care of him and take on the role of the mother figure and the firstborn son’s wife. But why?
There are lots of reasons. Keeping up appearances; keeping the household together; because look where following the traditional model of marrying some dude and going to live with and support his family got her mom; because the family she craves is the broken one in front of her, not some random new one... Follow your heart and pick your favorite.
But while Shoto may be, as Rei puts it, the family’s hero, Fuyumi is Enji’s hero in terms of maintaining any semblance of a family. He even says so in his mind, though he would do better by actually telling her.
Fuyumi’s distinctly winter-like name indicates to us that Enji had no intention of making her his successor (though at the time of her birth, he also didn’t need to do so.) This is par for the course in traditional expected family roles for Japanese daughters. Fuyumi’s birth order may have been saved from one form of hell and locked her out of what is traditionally the “man’s world” within the household, but it consigned her to another hell of the “woman’s world”.
Anyway, Fuyumi is the young woman of the new generation caught between traditional expectations and the realities of the demands of the modern day. She also doesn’t have much power in the overall social or household dynamic.
Masculine Summer and Second Son's Role
Natsuo’s name, which mean “summer” and “manly”, indicates even more obviously that Enji had hoped that Natsuo would have a fire quirk and take Toya’s place. Natsuo didn’t, though. It might be for the best.
Usually, second sons dodge the bullet of living for their parents, but they also lose out on many of the benefits and the attention that come with it.
For a markedly dated and extreme example, this article points out that while firstborn sons were exempt from becoming kamikaze pilots because their family roles were considered too important, second sons were expendable.
Natsuo is the young man who wants nothing to do with the ugly history of the old ways but isn’t in a position to do anything about it. He, uh, also doesn’t have much power, but he also didn’t do much to wrest the power from the extant system.
What is Shoto Todoroki?
Tumblr media
Shoto Todoroki is the “hero of his family” and poster child for balancing extremes. Examples include:
Ice and fire
Mind and body
Past and present
Hate and love
Old and new
Obligation and personal desires
Deku and Bakugo
Tumblr media
Shoto’s balancing act is very, like, zen - and also follows the Buddhist model of pursuing a middle way. You can read an entire post about him and his middle way here!
Tumblr media
For the purposes of this discussion, we could think of Shoto as the ideal new Japan that is at peace with its troubled history, if we like. He’s the one that’s going to lead the way for his family to a new future, though he won’t necessarily have all the power the way his father did.
Todoroki Hypocrisy
If you didn’t notice, nothing about the traditional family structure is helpful or sustainable for the Todoroki family, and so, despite appearing traditional in their publicly-presented values and background, the Todorokis don’t follow the model at all! By trying to maintain the appearances that they do, they make even bigger hypocrites of Enji, and of Rei’s extended family.
Public Scandal and Apologies
Tumblr media
First, I think it’s important to establish that the Japanese public’s relationship with their media is vastly different than that of many western countries’ populations and their media organs. For something to make a big enough splash that people are openly mad about it, it needs to be a pretty big deal. While the Japanese constitution guarantees freedom of the press, the press often doesn’t dig too deeply into controversial topics because, as the first article details, they follow the social mores of “not rocking the boat” more closely than the press in other countries.
It’s always important to remember that public opinion and official policy do not always support the same things or work together in practice.
Enji Todoroki, or more precisely, Endeavor, is a personified stand-in for the entire Hero system after All Might’s retirement, but before that, he was still a representation of the dependable, old, native government (Enji is, you know, an emblem of the patriarchy.) So, because of that, his family situation and personal wrongdoing being made public is a big deal. Massive. Even separate from Enji’s and Rei’s involvement in Toya’s death and their screwed up family dynamics, Dabi’s conducts and murders bring shame to the whole family, context be damned. It’s bad enough that he is a member of the family that did all of those things, ‘cause, you know, one bad apple ruins the bunch, but to specifically be their first son? The one who is meant to honor the parents and follow them most closely? Christ on a cracker, did Dabi fuck the entire family over with that video! He painted them all as total shitstain fuckups who don’t follow tradition, are terrible humans to one another, can’t keep their shit together and out of the public eye (which is arguably worse than being a terrible human, socially speaking), can’t be trusted with anything, can’t possibly be allowed to keep existing for the good of society…
Well, the only thing left in Enji and the family’s social toolkit is to apologize, which is. Oof. Woof.
Tumblr media
So, apologies on a small scale are common in Japan, and downright necessary. Here’s an article about the importance of them in business and, to some degree, in everyday life. To apologize, one always accepts fault no matter what the greater context is. One does not explain the situation, because that is seen as making excuses. (This is part of why Dabi framed his actions as something to gloat about in his video. He ain’t sorry in the way the public might want him to be, and in fact, he’s shunting the responsibility for his actions and for his very existence onto his father.) Some of the specifics of how apologies work in Japan are counterintuitive to folks from the US for a variety of reasons, but we won’t get into it now.
Of course, apologies are necessary in Japanese society when something goes wrong, but the higher the stakes are, whether social, governmental, financial, or whatever else, the more unacceptable the screw up is in the first place. While Japanese apologies usually need to deliver a single party as fully at fault (even if it is unrealistic or unjust), accepting the wrongdoing is still shameful and is, just like a US-raised, apology-averse intuition might tell you, accepting fault and putting that shame on your shoulders.
‘Course, if one has enough money, clout, and influence, there is a secret third option that allows one to dodge the shame of apologizing while not appearing weak or cowardly: lie and deny everything. Do that, and the status quo is maintained. The boat ain’t rocked and people can go about business as usual without having to bring it up again.
And Enji, with Keigo next to him as #2, represents the status quo. This is why so much of the MHA public expected them - and wanted them - to deny it all.
Tumblr media
If Enji and Keigo had denied everything, the shock to the public would have still existed, but been vastly mitigated. In particular, if Enji had denied it, he would be turning his back on the truth and also denying any need for the public to thrust consequences besides ones meant for show onto him. If Enji denied Dabi’s story, he would be denying the wrongdoings of the entire Hero system and HSPC. When Enji chooses not to deny Dabi’s story, he takes a big step forward in dismantling the existing Hero system and its illusory perfection in the hearts and minds of the civilians.
Enji’s public statement is something meant to prod the civilians towards supporting change and tearing down the walls between Heroes, Villains, victims, and civilians. Keigo’s involvement and exposure further backs this up.
Wait. Did some of you not realize that, in this story, the public is also being brought to task for their negligence towards their fellow citizens in all of this? Ah. Well, they are. The destruction of their cities and the mass resignation of many Heroes was the first of many things to befall them, and the exposure of Enji’s deeds and family situation was the final prod in the ass to get them to re-evaluate their society and what they could do to help.
And, actually, Enji and Keigo’s super-duper downer press conference creates a nice contrast with the hopeful tone of Deku’s announcement to the civilians within UA because - oops! That’s a different section. We’ll get to that later.
Anyway. Press conference. Consequences for Enji for being the worst father ever. Right. So here’s the thing: holding the press conference does spell out a consequence for Enji specifically.
While no big, dramatic, punitive, obvious, or immediate thing comes for Enji after his statement to the public, the mark against him in the public eye is permanent, much like the scar on his face (also left by Dabi, albeit indirectly. When he did that, he curse-marked him, you know?) Shame is a punishment, especially in eastern cultures, though the consequences aren’t as overt and obvious to many westerners. I’m not trying to say that the story shouldn’t offer other consequences to Enji, but I am saying that the story has already done something - and we’ll probably learn more about what long-term effects it has on Enji as the story goes on.
Tumblr media
But perhaps more importantly, Enji and Keigo tarnished the image of the Hero system irreparably. They humanized - perhaps even villanized - Heroes by showing them as imperfect. That Enji and Keigo would not put the public at ease and apologize with standard decorum and platitudes as they were expected to do shows their commitment to being open with the public, even if the public doesn’t want to hear it.
They’re not hiding behind saving face anymore. The Hero system from the days of All Might is dead. It was a facade, and now it is gone. Enji and Keigo’s press conference is less about the two of them groveling to the public and more about the public realizing that they have to grow up and face reality, too.
What is Hawks?
Tumblr media
What is Hawks? Or, rather, what is Keigo Takami?
Tumblr media
Keigo Takami is Enji Todoroki’s final and hidden child - so hidden that Enji doesn’t know he has him! But of course, Keigo is Enji’s not by blood, but by inspiration and emotion - and plain ol’ attachment issues. While he isn’t the same kind of Frankenstein’s monster as Dabi, Keigo’s weakness is still fire, he is still haunted by the decisions he made in regards to his piece o’ shit family, and he is still very concerned with being near Enji Todoroki and disguising his legal name and identity.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
And, whether intentionally or unintentionally, he’s an Icarus figure. Angel/Archangel also seems to be a source of inspiration for Hawks, though the similarities besides the big wings and some thematic details like the duality in the relative “good” and “evil”  faces of both characters, and perhaps Angel and Hawks’ seemingly carefree attitudes, are few. Instead, Keigo/Hawks and Toya/Dabi make up the two halves of Angel/Archangel, especially in relation to their “creator”, Enji. Horikoshi even created a homage to it. But, uh, separate from that, I personally think Black Widow is the more relevant comic book character to bring up when talking about Hawks by himself and not in relation to the Todoroki family plot.
Unlike Dabi, Keigo wishes good things upon the Todoroki family and doesn’t have the intent to leverage those good things into greater suffering later down the road. He’s Enji’s very own anti-curse. Talk about a hamaya! Okay, well, not really, though hawks are seen as harbingers of good fortune and generosity, particularly if dreamed about on the New Year. (And we all know how Enji sees his mountains…)
Tumblr media
While Keigo is not an arrow of light like Toya was meant to be, Keigo is still a light flying high in the sky, in a sense. Keigo’s name is startlingly straightforward.
Tumblr media
Kei - teach
Go - enlightenment
Taka - hawk
Mi - watch
Someone watchful like a hawk who teaches the correct path to enlightenment. On paper, this is true. Hawks is a Hero for the commission and a begrudging mentor to Tokoyami. ‘Course, when he kills Twice (Jin! Twice’s given name was Jin, which means humanity! Keigo kills his humanity in killing Jin! Keigo’s murder of Jin is actually a BIG fuckin’ deal for this story. Others, particularly Hawks fans, have broken this down very, very thoroughly), Keigo does the opposite of what his name indicates. He teaches how NOT to be enlightened, and he is blindsided and (literally!) grounded by Dabi’s reappearance and knowledge of his name. Keigo suppressed, if not outright sacrificed, his individuality, name, and basically his soul in service to the Hero System and the HSPC.
Tumblr media
In other words, he really did become a Hero like Endeavor - one who hurts his family (and friends) to help strangers as well as an individual who does whatever he must for his job while neglecting everything else in his life. Hawks put his duty and obligation before everything else. Sucks when people take advantage of someone for their quirk, huh. Keigo certainly was too fast for his own good.
On the other hand, Hawks is truly trying to create a better world and be better. Even while he was still under the HSPC’s thumb, I always found his lack of interest in raising up “the next generation” interesting. Why? Because he says he wants to create a world where Heroes are bored and don’t have much to do - in other words, he envisions a world where none of this Hero bullshit is necessary. His interest isn’t in lifting up “the next generation”, but also supporting the older and current ones, and just plain supporting each other.
And, slowly, with himself and his own life as a starting point, he’s learning to do it. The light of hope in Keigo’s heart is inextinguishable.
Keigo Takami VS the Todoroki Children
Tumblr media
‘Course, Hawks’ upbringing couldn’t be more different than the Todoroki childrens’. For one, he was poor as shit and his family was not as educated or well-bred, notwithstanding the criminal element. They lived on the fringes of society rather than holding storied family ties or new fame and national pride. The last thing he wanted was for his parents to pass on the family business or even, in some senses, pay attention to him (because it usually meant they criticized or abused him), and the last thing they wanted to do was pay attention to him - or even have him around.
Also, unlike with Toya, the distance between Keigo and Enji is part of what facilitates their positive relationship - growing up, Keigo didn’t have to see the ugly reality of the man, only the idealized Hero. He could grapple with the ugly reality of the man later, when he was older and could project the misdeeds and mistreatment of his own biological father upon Enji, but with a completely different intent than Toya has for the man.
But this is important to consider in the context of other characters besides Dabi. It’s not completely false to say that, in many ways, Keigo’s relationships with his own father and how it relates to Endeavor mirrors Deku’s with Bakugo and how it relates to All Might for many of these same reasons.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Keigo’s Surrogate Fantasy
Enji’s change of priority and intent towards his own family - and even Rei’s newfound resolve to take a stand - is a surrogate fantasy for Keigo, who wanted to reconcile with his own family while acknowledging the terrible things they have done to one another. Oh, and how wonderful Keigo must think it is that Shoto is the Hero of his family despite being so young. How wild it is to realize that every time Shoto thought to himself that Keigo is so cool and so impressive, Keigo likely started thinking the same thing.
Tumblr media
Too bad Dabi is Shoto’s brother instead and Keigo isn’t actually part of the family at all. And too bad that Keigo never realized that Dabi, Enji’s other son, was watching him very intently while Hawks, like everyone else, never did the same in return. Oh, well!
Keigo is still 20 pounds of family issues in a five-pound bag. To Hawks, the guilt he feels over abandoning his own family is a major motivating factor in his unspoken loyalty to Enji and the Todorokis. He’s not going to abandon them the same way he abandoned his own family.
Keigo apologizing to the public for Jin’s murder and explaining the details of his past alongside Enji is significant for several reasons. One, he is choosing to face his own past and, to some extent, his own desires in helping Enji and the Todorokis. Two, he is making his filial apology in what would, in other circumstances, be Dabi’s place. Keigo is a son figure who did horrible things and is owning up to them, and he’s doing it alongside a father apologizing for the awful shit he did that drove his son to murder and misdeeds in the first place.
And again on Jin: considering how spectacularly Jin denied Keigo’s offer to help if only he left the League of Villains, it’s not terribly surprising that Keigo would be hesitant to directly tell Enji and the Todoroki family about his feelings towards them. Jeanist probably knows, but I figure that dude’s collar is so high because it’s full of secrets.
Other Notes About Keigo’s Background
Keigo’ family is from Fukuoka, which is on Kyushu, the southernmost of the large Japanese islands. The people here are definitely not all “Yamato” Japanese, and these regions, like all the various regions of Japan, have their own regional identity and pride. Fatgum is from nearby Osaka, as @transhawks points out in this cute post about the potential of Fatgum x Hawks (also? PLEASE STAN FATGUM!) The most interesting and relevant part of that linked meta is the discussion about burakumin (I don’t recommend using this term outside of a western, english-speaking discussion), Japan’s caste system in the modern world, and how it may relate to Keigo or Fatgum. (By the way, this information is also relevant for any discussions of the mutant quirk cast members’ stories.)
A comparatively large population of folks associated with castes in these areas is one of the contributing factors for the notable yakuza presence there - ‘cause the yakuza’d hire and accept these folks when nobody else would.
Is Keigo meant to be burakumin? I dunno. I can’t say a lot about this in detail since it isn’t my place to do so nor my area of expertise. But the implication that Keigo’s self-labeling of his “dirty” wings may be a reference to his background through blood and ethnicity is worth pondering, especially in contrast to the prestigious family history present in the Todorokis.
Also, I’m not really sure if this is important, either, but hawks and falcons are associated with power in much of east Asia. In fact, falconry has an interesting history in Japan as an outdated status symbol, so Keigo’s presence around Enji could lend itself to some interesting interpretations…
So that’s the skinny on the Todoroki family and Keigo Takami. But there’s a rather formidable set of parallels I’d like to point out.
Parallel Narratives
Endeavor and All Might Revisited
Tumblr media Tumblr media
First, I want to remind everyone of the very intentional comparisons constantly drawn between Enji and Toshi- er, All Might. Basically, both stories go something like this.
Tumblr media
A man preoccupied with how they might suffer the same fate as his predecessors (Enji’s rejection of his father’s fate versus Toshinori’s assumption that he will die like Nana Shimura) sacrificed everything for the sake of appearing a perfect Hero. First, he is marked - and doomed - by the one who hates and wants him most (Dabi scars Enji’s face before ultimately “killing” Endeavor after his reveal versus All for One ripping out many of Toshinori’s organs and eventually “killing” All Might by forcing him into retirement), but emerges victorious. Eventually, his deepest secret, which will ruin him if it becomes public, is broadcast on live television (Dabi’s broadcast versus All Might’s televised last stand in Kamino). He must apologize to the people and continue to live on despite this (Enji and Keigo’s press conference versus All Might’s address to the public and subsequent talks with Aizawa). He must apologize to those whom he failed to see and own up to his mistakes (Enji’s apology to Natsuo and the family and his eventual confrontation with Dabi - he’s working on it - versus Toshinori’s apology to Bakugo, then Deku, and eventually Shigaraki - or so I am assuming).
Tumblr media
Also, they are both old men who do stupid old man shit like use bad texting etiquette or need help using computers. But that doesn’t do much for us, narratively speaking. But Enji’s fight with One for All and how it resembles All Might’s in Kamino should bring their similarities to a very fine point.
Still, I’m not done pointing out parallels.
My Hero: Endeavor and Deku
Tumblr media
We know All Might has compared Katsuki Bakugo and Enji in terms of their changes of heart. We also know that Bakugo and Enji are ambitious and, at least initially, selfish. Despite Bakugo’s heavily western (US) presentation and values and Enji’s obvious Japanese background, they are very similar.
Tumblr media
Enji envied All Might as a superhero and as an “American”, and he was very nasty about it. As I’ve said, Bakugo’s expression of inadequacy more closely resembles Enji’s on the surface, but there’s always been something underneath it that Enji’s envy for All Might did not have. (It’s love and admiration for All Might and Deku, in case you have to ask. Meanwhile, Toya’s feelings for his father unfurled in the opposite direction. At first, he felt love and admiration for his father that soured into Dabi’s grudge. But that isn’t important right now.)
Enji and Bakugo are similar, sure, but Bakugo and Deku are also very similar, so the next natural step is to realize that Deku and Enji are also similar and have similar journeys.
Much like the “traditional Japanese” Enji envies the “exceptional westerner” All Might, Deku also envies the “westernized winner” Bakugo, though Deku’s never been as openly nasty about it as Enji and instead directs his punishing inadequacy inwards. But Deku and Enji both create suffering from their envy and desires.
@pikahlua recently pointed out to me that Deku and Enji’s stories are, in many cases, not just thematically similar, but frame-by-frame identical. They noticed the hospital parallel I’m about to draw first.
Tumblr media
When Deku cries in the hospital after Bakugo’s kidnapping out of frustration at his own failure, key members of the class and Kirishima, with an outstretched hand, convince him to stop blubbering and go get Bakugo back together. Then, when Deku’s moment comes to take Bakugo’s hand, he decides against being the one to reach out.
Tumblr media
While not evident in that moment, Bakugo has been wanting to take Deku’s hand for some time, and Deku VS Kacchan 2 makes this quietly obvious even as it causes Bakugo inner torment. Look at Bakugo’s blocking. I’m serious. Look at it. And if that wasn’t enough, Bakugo is still, in these at-current 362+ manga chapters, reaching for Deku and acting in his stead to the point that it’s destroying him.
Tumblr media
When class 1-A brings Deku back to UA, the public is incensed over it. While Uraraka is the one to make an address to them from the rooftop (and Iida assesses that the class should watch in silent support as Deku and the folks inside UA reconcile), the civilians still turn to Deku and ask what he intends to do. His answer is to “bring it all back”. In other words, he’s resolved to keep fighting for everyone's sake - including the villains’, though he doesn’t say this directly.
When Enji cries in the hospital after Dabi’s reveal out of sadness, frustration, and shame at his own failure, his family and Shoto, with an outstretched hand, convince him to stop blubbering and go stop Toya - together. Later, when Enji’s moment to reach out to his son should have happened, Shoto is the one to catch him and try to soothe his heart instead.
Despite Dabi’s presentation and hostility, he has been wanting to see his father for some time. Everything about Dabi has been broadcasting this desire, sometimes literally, even if it is spiteful and twisted. And if that weren’t enough, Dabi is currently flying to his father in a ball of self-destructive flame to reach him even if it turns him into nothing but ashes.
When Enji must face the public to apologize, Keigo is there to support him. Enji must speak on his own behalf with primarily silent support, but when the press and people demand to know what he is going to do, his answer is, “Just watch me.” In other words, he’s resolved to keep fighting for everyone’s sake (his family included), just like Deku has done.
Tumblr media
What, did you think Enji being an asshole, apologizing for it, and insisting the public “just watch [him]” was only a comparison to Bakugo’s apology and interior instruction during the Joint Training Arc that Deku “just watch [him]?” Or that Toya/Dabi’s pleading for his father to “Look at [him]”?
Deku needs encouragement to not “run away” from his heroic goal of saving Tenko when he finds Bakugo left as a “present” with a hole in his chest. Enji needs similar encouragement to not run away from the fight when he sees his charbroiled son keep destroying himself in his attempts to reach his father.
Deku may be all the good and noble things about an innocent, optimistic, and young “Hero of Japan” while Enji is tarnished from his misdeeds as an old “Hero of Japan”, but the biggest difference between them is context and lived experience. It’s the same stuff in different packaging.
Tumblr media
In the Buddhist model, the ego - or sometimes I might use the words “consciousness” or “self” - is not something fixed, or at least, it shouldn’t be as it is not what should rule an individual, and it is determined just as much by the circumstances of one’s birth and surroundings.
Put another way, “nurture” matters just as much as, and sometimes more than, “nature”.
So, do you think you’re a “good” person? Let’s see what you do in a situation. Let’s see what you do when you are put in many, many situations that range from bad to worse, one after another. You think you are a “bad” person? Let’s put you in a better situation. Let’s keep putting you in better situations with emotional and physical support and see what happens.
And then, let’s ask someone else with a totally different background and point of view what they think of you.
All it takes for someone to become a villain in MHA’s Japan is, as the 24th volume title says, one bad day to serve as the capstone to a billion different little circumstances and choices that are not always within someone’s control. Likewise, all it takes for someone to fall from the public’s grace and have the world turn against them is the same thing.
Tumblr media
People are individuals, it’s true - but they are also more than individuals. They are everything around them that shapes them, and also none of those things at all. Every day, we get to choose how to navigate that paradox. So do the Todorokis.
Thanks for reading.

Blood of my House Pt1
Kirishima Eijiro x Fem!Reader
Tumblr media
Context: Eijiro's plan to claim back his family's throne is put on hold when you appear, as the rightful heir. You get on his nerves but you both need to work together in order to get the usurper off your throne. Lets just hope you both don't fall into the stereotype of your house.
Game of thrones inspired- The Kirishimas are basically the Targeryens. Credit given to George R Martin and the mastermind that he is.
Warning: this story deals with topics of cousin incest and referenced incest ( I don't condone this IRL), violence, taboo lust, blood, fire, time period specific misogyny and dragons. So be prepared. No smut... yet.
[P A R T 2] [BLOOD OF MY HOUSE MASTERLIST]
“If we advance our forces forward and take them from atop the valley, we can exterminate at least two thousand of their forces.” Bakugou Katsuki spoke as he moved the figures of black painted dragons that represented the Kirishima army. The blond man stood up straight as he motioned to the large map that was on the table that was in the shape of the continent that was the realm. He looked up from the table at the men that were around the table. “That way we can kill all those fuckers before the moon reaches it’s peak.”
Lord Taishiro Toyomitsu looked to the head of the table. His golden eyes on the man who was the centre of their cause. “Your grace.”
Kirishima Eijiro looked up from where he sat at the head of the table. His ruby eyes looking at the man who had unwaveringly and unquestionably joined his cause before looking around the table. Suffocating ruby eyes that gleamed with a fire so hot behind them. He looked back down at the table. He nodded his head. “Let it be done.” He stated as he stood up from his chair. Immediately everyone stood up, allowing him to leave the room with Katsuki following after him.
Eijiro exited out of the room, moving down the hallway, servants and lords bowing their heads to him as he moved towards his personal chambers. The stone walls of the castle were made out of dark black stone that was said to be burnt from an old dragon that melded the rocks together. Eijiro entered his room, placing down the heavy Valyrian steel sword against a table as he fell back down on a cushioned chair. He let out a sigh as he draped a hand over his eyes. Today was a long day of meetings and strategy.
Katsuki chuckled as he stood at the door. “Should I send dinner to your room?” He asked.
“Please.” Eijiro groaned. “And send for a Meyster.” He stated as he rubbed the side of his head. His eyebrows furrowed as he sat up. “I have a headache.”
Katsuki’s eyebrows twitched but he let out a grunt and closed the door.
Now alone, Eijiro put his head back with a sigh, glad to finally be alone. He didn’t think that leading a war against the Todoroki’s would be so difficult but he couldn’t say he wasn’t surprised. He opened his eyes again as he looked back at the view from the mountain top. The Sunvaile manor was built into the mountains with its village surrounding it. Eijiro never thought he’d ever be here in his ancestral home, at least not leading it as Prince and rightful heir to the throne.
Eijiro barely remember his parents, he only knew of the tragedy that befell on their house. It was a great gathering here to celebrate the birth of King Kirishima Ryosuke the second’s second born, a son, after having had his eldest daughter a few years before. It was a tradition that the Kirishima family had whenever a baby was to be born. Having the babe born in their ancestral home where dragons were said to have first been discovered in this world, was said to be good luck. The parties were extravagant and with such a big house with so many members, Eijiro could only remember faces of people that looked so similar to one another.
However Todoroki Enji, Lord of Turnes, had plotted in secret and assassinated nearly every member of the Kirishima family to ensure that there was not a single person to claim the throne. Fortunately, Eijiro’s mother and father, Lord and Lady of Summersvale, managed to hide him away with a loyal sword that would send him far away so that when the time came he would ascend the throne. The last thing Eijiro remembered of his mother, her hair being the deep red of her house Toyomitsu and not the inherit trait of Kirishima black, and the whispered spell she had cast over his hair.
One of the most noticeable features of Kirishima lineage was the inky black hair and ruby eyes, a pair of traits that never separated from one another. Many of his elder siblings, his father, aunts and uncles had the same trait. A dominant gene that never left. However, the next time Eijiro looked at his reflection in cold water while on the run away from Summersvale, his hair was a crimson red, similar to that of his mother.
Unfortunately the loyal sword that had managed to get him out of Summersvale had fallen at the ends of smugglers and Eijiro found himself sold into slavery at the age of five. He was fortunately bought by the Bakugous, the family that led the BakuLands. He was young and was quickly taught the ropes, making sure to do what he was told as a little errand boy in exchange for food and a place to sleep. However, Eijiro always had an interest in the sword, and that’s how he met his best friend and brother at arms, Bakugou Katsuki.
Katsuki was an annoying little shit, but he was loyal and a good friend. He easily befriended Eijiro mostly because Eijiro was the only boy willing to befriend him other than the son of Katsuki’s former wetnurse, Midoriya Izuku, the bastard. Lady Mitsuki rather disliked Eijiro, not liking the fact that her son had made friends with a servant but it was the most she was ever going to get out of him. Eijiro trained beside Katsuki in secret and served him.
That was until Katsuki’s parents had taken Katsuki and consequently Eijiro as Katsuki’s personal servant, to Summersvale. It happened purely by chance that their hunting party had stumbled upon the caves that the dragons nested in. With a flash of fire, Eijiro trying to save Katsuki’s life, Eijiro was left unburnt and unscathed, however, like a phoenix’s burnt wings, his red a flame hair turned black like ashes. And ever since then, the whispers moved around the realm saying how one Kirishima had survived that night.
Prince Kirishima Eijiro.
Or at least, that’s how Eijiro remembered it.
Eijiro wondered what life would had been like did his parents survive, if that fateful night had not happened. He wondered if right now he’d be surrounded by his sisters, if he would be sitting down having dinner in a hall that was filled with laughter and bright smiles. If he would learn under his father to become the next Lord of Summersvale or whether his eldest sister would have taken the title (unlikely but a thought regardless). He wondered if he’d still be the same man as he was now.
He was taken out of his thoughts at the sound of racing footsteps out in the halls. Eijiro’s eyes flicked to the door before it opened. Katsuki stood there with heavy breaths as he kept the door opened standing in the doorway. “Eijiro, you must come and see this.”
Eijiro’s eyebrows furrowed as he stood up from his chair, grabbing his sword as he did so and heading with haste out of his chambers. Katsuki escorted him out of the room and down the hall. “What is the matter? Is it the Todorokis?”
Katsuki shook his head as he headed towards a window that faced the front of the castle. “No. They bare a different banner.”
“Whose?”
Katsuki motioned for Eijiro to look outside. The setting sun had bathed the tops of the mountains in orange but otherwise darkness was quickly overtaking the land. But that did not stop Eijiro from seeing the banners that were being carried by a hoard of men, soldiers that were heading towards them, close enough to be concerning. At the sight of the black banners that bore the red sigil of a dragon curled up with flames surrounding it like the sun, Eijiro stiffened.
Katsuki sighed as he nodded. “They bare your banners.” He stated.
It didn’t take long before both men made it outside, Eijiro grabbing his clock and throwing it over his shoulders, a black furred mantel resting on his shoulders. It was once his fathers and he had always been shy of wearing it, but he prayed that it would give him strength right now. Both Katsuki and him headed down the outside stairs into the courtyard as the gates were opened to allow the visitors through.
Entering on horseback on a white stallion was a man neither Eijiro nor Katsuki thought they would see again. Katsuki’s eyes widened. “Deku?!” He let out surprised. “You bastard! You’re still alive?”
Sitting atop the stallion was a green haired man with freckles that littered his skin, his green eyes looked down at the blond with an amused glint but a deep dangerous poison brewing underneath. He scoffed as he got off of his horse. “I see you haven’t changed, Kacchan.” He stated as he landed on the ground with a thud as he walked over to the two men. Izuku’s eyes went to Eijiro, his eyes assessing him. It had been years since he last saw the other man. He bowed his head. “Your grace.”
“Izuku, it’s been a while.” He let out offering his hand.
At the sign of friendship Izuku took it with a smile of his own. “It has. Last time I saw you, your grace, your hair was red, not black.”
Eijiro chuckled. “A lot has happened.”
“Indeed.”
“Deku,” Katsuki folded his arms over his chest with a frown. “How are you alive and why on earth are you and your forty thousand men baring up Kirishima banners? Have you finally come to help our cause?”
Izuku hesitated before an amused chuckle came from his lips. “I am here to fight a Kirishima cause yes, just not yours.” He revealed before motioning up to the sky. “Hers.”
Eijiro looked up to the sky, clouds seemingly undisturbed however as he kept looking he noticed something strange moving closer, rippling through the clouds. An odd sound went through the air, a loud roar that sounded different from his own dragon. His eyes widened as a large dark dragon came flying in the air over the caslte. The force of the wind, nearly knocking many back but Eijiro stood his ground.
He noticed a person was riding a top of the dragon as it circled around, gradually getting lower to the ground. Finally, the large dragon settled on one of the thick walls of the castle, made to be that thick due to the dragon claws and weight. The large beast let out a loud roar, snaking its head up to the sky almost in victory at being back home. It ruffled its wings before lowering its head to pear down at the men that were staring up at it in fear.
Eijiro’s men had sort of gotten used to his own dragon, Riot, but that was mostly because she was the only one left. Or so they thought.
Sitting perched on the dragons body was a woman, who’s eyes bore into Eijiro’s like a mirror. Something twisted inside of him, wondering who on earth you were. The dragon lowered his head with a scuttle as you unseated yourself, using his wing to slide down and land on your feet. You were dressed in black, in a jacket and suit that suit you well as you walked forward to stand before Eijiro and Katsuki.
Izuku stiffened and bowed his head. “You stand in the presence of Y/N of House Kirishima, first of her name, eldest daughter of King Ryosuke Kirishima, second of his name, rightful heir to the throne, the princess of skies and speaker for the broken, the unscorched lady of the night.” Izuku introduced as you stood looking at Eijiro unwaveringly.
Eijiro blinked at the introduction. He turned to look at Katsuki. Katsuki looked at him then quickly got the jist. “This is Eijiro.” He stated plainly. Eijiro punched his side. “OF House Kirishima.” He continued with a glare at his best friend. He cleared his throat and motioned back to Eijiro. “He’s Lord of Summersvale.”
You raised a slight eyebrow at the short introduction but it was more in amusement than anything. You chuckled as you looked over at the man in front of you. He was undoubtedly a Kirishima male. The long thick black hair that cascaded down his back like a mane and the burning intense ruby eyes that he had were enough to tell you. “Cousin.” You greeted with a smile.
Eijiro’s eyebrow twitched as he recognised you. Despite having spent years apart, the sight of one of his kin was enough to assure him of your identity. Blood could recognise blood. “Cousin.” He acknowledged. At his acknowledgement, Katsuki looked at him shocked, but Eijiro couldn’t didn’t take his eyes off of you.
“It has been far too long.” You started, your eyes moving over his figure once more. Despite seeing him and seeing what was once your little cousin Eijiro, his size surprised you. He had grown to fill the large disposition that was infamous of the men in your family. Large broad shoulders and a tall thick muscled demeanour. He was taller than any man you had ever seen and carried himself with such prowess. “Last time I saw you, you were but a boy still young enough to be attached to your mother’s tits.” You let out snidely, earning a humeroued smirk from Izuku and stifled chuckles from his men.
Eijiro’s eyebrows twitched. “Last time I saw you, you were but a girl who didn’t have any.” He shot back earning some laughs from his own men behind him.
You stood your ground, your smile not faltering as you looked at him. “We have grown.”
“Yes...” His eyes moved down your figure, your stomach tightening in knots as you watched him. His eyes flicked back up to his face. “Yes, we have.” He joined his hands in front of himself as he glared down at you. “What are you doing here Y/N?” He asked with a furrowed gaze.
You let out a breath. “How about we discuss this inside? It is getting late and cold and I’d rather give my men some rest.” You stated.
Eijiro was silent for a moment but nodded his head. Katsuki gave him a pointed look that Eijiro ignored. “Katsuki arrange for her rooms to be ready. We are heading inside.” He ordered as he turned around and headed inside.
You followed after him, motioning for Izuku to tell your men to set up camp for the time being in case you would have to leave the following day. You and the rest of your advisors headed into the castle. You looked up at the formidable entrance, stone dragons perched near the entrance, the size of young dragons barely able to be ridden yet. You turned to look at your own dragon. He was getting herded away by dragon chamberlains, them speaking to the large beast in High Valeryian. You trusted that he would behave himself and so walked in after Eijiro.
Eijiro did not speak as you followed after him. But you didn’t want him to speak as you looked around the castle halls. It had been so long since you had been back home here, back to your ancestral home. A part of you felt as though you could feel your family’s embrace even though shrouded in the darkness of their demise. You saw a family portrait hanging formidably.
Your uncle Takeo and his wife Yua with four little girls surrounding them and a little baby boy in Yua’s arms. You knew it was Eijiro and a part of you wanted to scoff at the little thing. He seemed like such a brat.
You continued to follow him into a room you were never allowed in as a child. A room where all the men of your family sat, often talking plans when it came to governing the seven kingdoms or when it came to the family. Your eyes looked at the table, the map of all the kingdoms set before you. Your fingers slid on the obsidian marble that was the table in front of you. Your eyes moved to the head of the table where your father used to sit.
Eijiro watched you, how you silently reminisced as you slowly walked through the room. It was quiet as you did so, everyone spectating you. Your eyes moved up to him, noticing how he had moved to sit at the Head of the table. You gave him a tense smile as you sat the opposite end. Izuku took his place beside you and Katsuki stood beside Eijiro.
Eijiro’s hands were joined together in front of him as he watched you with a analytical gleam. “I assume that this visit isn’t a familial one amongst kin.” He started, now that everyone whose ears needed to be in the room, were there.
You hummed as you leaned against the chair you sat in. “Indeed.” You nodded your head agreeing with him. “I heard about your cause all the way in Chalrogo. After some thoughts and talks amongst me and my councilmen, it was decided that the best course of action was to find you and join our causes so that I shall take my rightful place on the throne.”
“Your rightful place on the throne?” Eijiro asked with a scoff as he looked at you up and down. A humoured chuckle left his throat as he did so.
Your eyebrows twitched in annoyance as you sat up. “Do you find something humorous?”
Eijiro nodded his head with a smile. “The fact that you think you belong on the throne, is humorous.”
“And why is that?”
“Why?” Eijiro asked with a scoff. He motioned to you before leaning to the side with his hand supporting him. “No woman has ever sat upon the throne.”
You knew he would say that, every man has said that. “I am the eldest born and only child left of King Ryosuke.” You reminded him. “I have a greater right to sit on that throne more than you.”
“Ah, but you forget, cousin.” Eijiro let out with a tsk as he shook his head. “I am the oldest male of the Kirishima House left, which automatically makes me Head of the family and King by default.”
“Your father, swore an oath to his older brother, my father, that he would be loyal and dedicated to our reign.” Your eyebrows furrowed as you kept your eyes on Eijiro. “Your father owes me that vow and you, as his son, are the only one left to uphold that.”
Eijiro frowned at your excuses. He found them pathetic and rather humerous. He couldn’t ignore the matter at hand that was your new found existence in his life, but this all seemed a bit much for him. Katsuki stepped forward. “Excuse me, Y/N-”
“Princess Y/N.” Izuku corrected with a glare.
Katsuki rolled his eyes at Izuku’s interruption. “Yes, yes, your grace,” He said dripping in sarcasm. “But last time I checked, your brother was born and named heir on the night of the Burnout flame.”
You rolled your own eyes. “Oh please. My younger brother had barely lived longer than an hour before his life came to an end due to the usurper that is Todoroki Enji.”
“At least there is one thing we agree on.” Eijiro pointed out. “You want to join our forces.”
You let out a breath, trying to regain control of yourself and a sound mind. You nodded your head. “The blood of our house is stronger together, is it not?” You asked. “I have 45 000 men and fifty ships ready and waiting at my disposal, as well as enough gold to burn.”
Sero Hanta’s eyebrows twitched as he tilted his head. “How much gold?” He asked.
You glanced to Izuku. He nodded as he turned to the door and opened it, allowing two of your armed men to carry in a chest filled with gold. The chest was brought down on the floor with a heavy thud, coins already spilling out of it. Eijiro and his men had wide eyes at the sight of it.
“I have fifty of those.” You revealed bluntly.
Eijiro was silent as he looked from the chest over to you. He wondered what on earth you had been through and what you had done in order to have such power at your back and call.
“Your grace,” Both him and you had turned your heads to look Toyomitsu Taishiro. He looked to Eijiro with an earnest look. “Joining your forces under one banner would give us the advantage. A hundred thousand men strong would be enough to defeat the Todorokis with the right plan.” He acknowledged. Eijiro’s eyebrows furrowed but he listened. He owed this man, his uncle, his life and a lot more. He trusted him. Taishiro turned to look at you. “Besides, your house must be united now more than ever. And forgive me for saying, my princess,” You smiled. “But you look just like your mother. Even now.”
You smiled gently at the complement. You nodded your head in gratitude. “Thank you, Lord Toyomitsu. My house will always be grateful for the loyalty and fealty to us.”
“Yes, my nephew has told me.” He acknowledged as he motioned to Eijiro.
Eijiro frowned as he looked over at you. Here you were, sitting in front of him almost as if you dropped out of the sky. Eijiro was not sure what to do. He let out a grunt. “I think it is obvious that together we are stronger than divided.” You nodded at the obvious. “Then I agree. We will work together to unseat King Enji from the throne.”
“Then who will sit on the throne?” One of your advisors, Lord Aizawa Shota asked as he leaned back in his chair tiredly.
You turned to look at Eijiro and he stared at you right back. You forced a smile to your face. “I think we can determine that like adults, can’t we, Eijiro?” You asked with a smile that Eijiro wanted to pull off of your face.
He nodded curtly. “Of course. But please, we shall show you to your rooms and we can eat dinner together, as one.” You nodded your head as you stood up from opposite him. All of your men stood up and followed you out of the room, followed by a servant that was summoned by Katsuki. Once you finally left Eijiro let out a groan as he leaned back and dragged a hand down his face.
“So…” Kaminari Denki started lowly as he tapped his fingers on the table. “Are we just going to ignore the fact that she looks like every man’s best dream?” He asked openly.
Eijiro glanced at the blond man with a glare which quickly shut Denki up. He wasn’t wrong, you had grown a lot since he had last saw you. You were a woman now. In every shape of the word and it haunted him. Suffocatingly so. You were smart, he could tell by the arsenal you had behind you but you were also beautiful and deeply aware of it too. He could tell by the way every single man in the room was unable to look away from you.
“This could be a trick.” He let out lowly as he thought about every possible scenario.
“If so, she’s a very needed trick.” Sato acknowledged, his arms folded over his chest. “She comes with men, ships and a hefty sum to her name.”
Commander Hounddog nodded his head with a low grunt. “She’s perfect to your cause, your grace.”
“But then comes the real question…” Taishiro started as he adjusted his seating, minding his large belly as he did so. His golden eyes moved to Eijiro and the younger man knew that he was going to say something that would make the entire room uncomfortable. “Are you going to wed her?”
Eijiro let out a loud laugh at the thought. “Wed her?!” He asked motioning to the door. “She’s my cousin!”
“Yes but… It’s kind of what your family does.” Sero let out with an awkward smile. “You’re a Kirishima, she’s a Kirishima, you both have blood that stems from a time of old magic and dragons.”
“It would solidify your claim to the throne.” Tetsutetsu recognized earning hums from around the room.
Eijiro scoffed as he stood up from his chair. “Oh please! That’s appalling. I don’t have to marry her in order to stake my claim. My mother was not a Kirishima and I have the same claim as she does!”
“But that is because your grandfather, King Shinyo first of his name, wanted to cement the ties between our two families.” Taishiro reminded his nephew with a pointed look. “But your grandparents were both from House Kirishima, her parents were both Kirishimas.”
Katsuki nodded with a hum. “Siblings in fact.”
Eijiro glared up at the blond. “You are not helping!” He told his best friend. “If marrying a woman is so important, fine I will do so, but it damn well will not be her! My blood is thick enough to not need her for anything other than her assistance to the throne. By the end of the season cycle, I will be seated as the next king of the realm, whether she likes it or not.”

_ "I'm so sorry, please look at me." Shouto whispered as he gently stroked your cheeks and tried to lift your head up, but you refused, you were too ashamed to look into his eyes.
_ "What if they're right? What if I'm really not good enough?" you mumbled, dark thoughts already fogging up your mind.
_ "No! Stop it! Don't let them get to you please." he squeezed your arms, shaking you gently as despair took over him as well.
Today was supposed to be one of the best days in both your lives. It was the day you decided to announce your decision to get married.
You were nervous as you sat down side by side with Shouto, having his whole family's questioning looks on you.
But that wasn't the worst part, it was when Shouto finally declared the reason of your visit. It was then that their judging eyes stared daggers into your soul.
They obviously thought you were unworthy of him, and if you were to be honest, so did you.
You've always wondered.. why did he pick you out of everyone else around him? What was so special about you anyway? You're as bland as they come, something Enji did not shy to put forth, he made it painfully clear in case anyone else was unaware.
_ "Let's face it Shouto, your father is right.. who am I to be a part of your life? Sooner or later someone had to say it." you wished you could keep your cool as you uttered those words, but your shaky voice and teary eyes betrayed you.
What hurt you the most was that Shouto stood up for you in front of his entire family, yet there you were, throwing all of it into the garbage. But he knew how you truly felt.. how much your own words hurt you, how much you loved him, how you never felt good enough, and how your meeting with his family awakened all of the insecurities you struggled to bury within you.
So he had to do something, he had to pull you out of the pit and bring you back to him.
_ "Listen to me y/n, I don't care about any of the things my father brought up earlier, I love you and I always will. I'm never giving you up, and even if one day you decide to walk away I'll keep following you, that's how much I love you." you didn't know how to respond to him, you wanted to say that you loved him too, that you wanted him to be happy, that you wanted to see him grow, but all that came out of your mouth was a strangled sob.
He didn't push further since he knew how overwhelmed you had been since morning, so instead he dragged you slowly to his chest, securing you in his protective hold and allowing you to clung to him as if he would disappear if you didn't.
He gently traced your back and kissed your temple, whispering sweet and reassuring words into your ear until you finally relaxed a little between his arms.
And without a warning, you felt yourself floating as he picked you up and took you straight to your bedroom.
You didn't question him, you didn't oppose or struggle, you just allowed him to carry you because deep down you felt that maybe that would be the last time you two can be together this way.
He placed you gently on the bed and hovered over you.
_ "You're beautiful, and you're mine," he whispered as he studied your expressions, "never listen to what anyone else has to say, just keep your attention on me." he traced your quivering lips before leaning in for a breathtaking kiss. You got lost in it, his kisses have always had that effect on you, and for a moment you managed to forget the dreadful day you had to go through.
Your tears kept flowing, and you weren't even sure of the reason anymore. Was it because you believed what Shouto's family thought of you? "pathetic and out of your league", or was it because you felt bad for him, for loving someone like you, someone who didn't deserve it.
You laced your fingers through his hair and arched into his chest as you desperately wished to be even closer to him. He took the hint and sneaked his arms under your cute little dress and along your thighs while his lips were still attached to yours.
His usual soft touches seemed even more so, as if he was afraid of hurting you.
His fingers moved up slowly, bringing your dress with them and leaving goosebumps in their path, until they reached your breasts and proceeded to fondle your mounds over the thin fabric of your bra.
You moaned into his mouth and felt him smiling against your lips before breaking the kiss and gazing into your teary eyes.
_ "I meant every word I said, if it's not you then it can't be anyone else." His mismatched orbs held a determination that you have never seen before, not even during his most dangerous missions.
There he was, the love of your life, doing everything he can to keep you by his side. And that was the moment you finally realized that you shouldn't give up on him so easily, that you would do anything in your power to get closer and be accepted by his family. Truth be told, you had no spite for any of them, their reaction to you was out of love and concern for Shouto's future.
Your tears finally stopped, and you tried as best as you could to offer him a genuine smile through your remaining sniffles.
_ "Shouto, I'm sorry I was weak, but I promise I'll do better and make you proud of me." you thought you said the right thing, that when he hears your words he'd be relieved, but the frown appearing on his features proved you wrong.
_ "Shouto, is everything alrigh.."
_ "What makes you think that I'm not proud of you already? that my love for you is conditional?"
He looked hurt, and you were lost for words..
_ "You're smart, strong, beautiful, and you have a heart of gold," his expressions softened and his palms caressed your sides delicately, "if anything, I'm the one who should work harder to be worthy of you," he mumbled softly against your lips, "you don't seem to understand what you truly mean to me." and with that, his warm breath and soft touches left you as he sat up, bringing you with him before removing his shirt and your dress.
He pushed you down gently, eyes studying your heaving chest and flushed skin, "perfect," he smirked before leaning in, nose grazing your neck teasingly and caressing its way down your cleavage while leaving soft open mouthed kisses along your flesh.
Your fingers pulled on his hair and he growled, sneaking his arms around your back and relieving you from your bra in one swift move before latching onto your breasts and swirling his tongue around your perky nipples, one at a time.
_ "Shouto, please hurry and take off the rest of your clothes." and as if on cue, you heard the clanking of his belt buckle as he shed his remaining articles, while his lips were still attached to your teats.
He was as impatient as you were, and didn't even care to hide his longing for you, leaving you no time to react or say a word before ripping off your panties and throwing the shredded garment onto the floor.
_ "Shouto! What.." you started but was abruptly cut off with his lips back on yours.
He moved eagerly against you, slick tongue dancing with your own and your whole body went limp underneath him.
The painful events that had clouded your soul earlier, became nothing but distant memories, and it felt as if you were the only two in the world.
You were lost in him, so lost in fact that you failed to notice when he effortlessly picked you up and sat you on his lap, and only when his hard cock rested against your tummy did you finally come back to your senses.
_ "You're the only one who's able to make me feel this way." he smirked with a nod to his raging dick— in case you missed his point, and your blush deepened at his forwardness.
Though his eyes were a different story, they held love and sincerity, craving and despair, and you knew at that moment that he was as scared of losing you as you were of losing him.
You smiled cradling his cheeks and flashing him a sweet smile that melted his heart, "I'm here Shouto." you shakily propped yourself up on your knees, one hand holding his shoulder for support while the other guided his cock to your quivering pussy, before slowly lowering yourself on him with a loud cry of his name.
His eyes were wide open the whole time, witnessing that mesmerizing view unfold before him. He wasted no time cupping your ass cheeks and helping you slide up to the tip before slamming you back down. He loved the faces you were making for him, the loud moans leaving your lips everytime he was buried deep inside of you, your desperate clutches on his neck and shoulders, "that's it babe, let me hear your voice," his right hand moved to play with your breasts, while the left one still supported and guided your body to move slowly on top of him.
He carefully activated his quirk on your boobs and you shuddered, tilting your head back and pulling on his hair with a whimper.
He loved it, loved the way your nipples perked up due to his freezing palm, loved the way your fingers found their way to his locks as his name left your mouth in a slur, and especially loved knowing that he was the only one allowed to see that side of you.
_ "Y/n, you're mine, everything about you belongs to me," his lips replaced his hand on your breasts as he licked and nibbled on your flesh, "please promise me you won't leave, tell me you'll be with me forever, I can't give you up so please don't give up on me." he begged as he hid his face in your chest, and your heart sunk.
_ "Never, I will never let you go Shouto, I promise I'll make your family accept me, even if it takes years." you lifted his head up and smiled softly before connecting your lips.
His thrusts became faster and rougher, and soon enough, that familiar warmth started pooling within you as he swallowed every moan you let out.
He was close too, throbbing inside of you and groaning desperately until you tensed up, breaking the kiss and crying out his name before slumping onto his chest.
He bounced your spent body on top of him as you fluttered around his cock, "Shouto.. cum inside me.. please.."
And that was all it took for him to push himself against your cervix, releasing everything into your welcoming cunt before fucking his semen deeper within you.
_ "It can only be you y/n." he whispered against your temple as he wrapped you in his protective arms.
_ "Only you Shouto." you smiled before closing your eyes and allowing your body to relax in his hold.

Idk why, but even before I started writing here, I always imagine Dabi falling for a girl who wears niqaab (a veil). And like I still cant stop thinking about him falling for a niqaabi (who is most likely a Muslim) and like the very essence of respecting her religion and boundaries (aka no physical contact with the opposite gender especially if its a stranger) is like so on spot for Dabi, no?
If you take a modern day niqaabi, Dabi is intrigued by her outfit and the way she speaks, the way she carries herself. He's attracted to a woman he hasn't even seen, which means he is attracted to her brain, to her mannerisms.
And the eyes... oh what if the reader wears the type of niqaab where u could only see the eyes?? They're nothing out of the ordinary, even your brows are covered, but the way his heart stops when you make eye contact with him, however brief, even if he blocks your path or says something to make you look at him, they're- it's like he can feel his very soul connecting with yours.
And if we take the old time era, I'm imagining reader being a princess/warrior niqaabi, and maybe Dabi is her newly appointed bodyguard or a Knight sent by his father to bring you home for an arranged marriage with King Enji?
Dabi isn't supposed to stare at you, the very sight of your shadow is barely permissible for him, but he can't. Not when he's heard rumours about your beauty, about you being so beautiful that men have killed themselves when you rejected their proposals, thus you cover up, even your eyes.
Maybe while escorting you to his father's kingdom, he can feel your resentment to the marriage. Maybe on the way, you guys are attacked, forcing Dabi to flee away with you on his horse, his heart stopping momentarily when he made contact with your body to pick you up and place you on his horse. And maybe while fighting, he was stabbed, bleeding profusely, which you only noticed when you guys finally reached a safe place, by a lake.
You panic because he is starting to look drowsy from all the blood loss, even if he says he's fine, so in a instant, you ripped off your veil and dipped it water nearby before placing it on his wound, putting pressure on it.
Dabi's breath hitches, his entire body stiffens, and for a brief second, it feels like the entire world has stopped as he stares at your face.
Your beauty... your face... it bewitched him.
Even with worry and frustration etched on your face, even as your eyes fill with tears, even as your lips tremble as you pray that his wounds stops bleeding, you looked heavenly.
He feels like one of those poets who would forget about the world and his ownself just so that he could only focus on writing poems that would fail to do justice to your beauty.
As the moonlight hit your face, Dabi despite being an atheist, truly did belive you were divinity.
"Stop staring." You chided, making the mistake of looking into his eyes, and he felt it. He felt the connection, the touch to his soul.
Dabi fainted, whether it was because he was bleeding or because of your beauty, no one knows.
The next day, when he finally woke up, you had ripped a part of your dress to make another veil for yourself. But Dabi wasn't disappointed, no. He had seen you once, and that was enough for this lifetime and all the others.
He was surprised to see you holding his bow in one hand and a bird in the other.
"Breakfast." You said softly, as you began preparing the bird. He didn't know you could hunt, princesses like you were usually not taught skills like that.
And Dabi asked where'd you learned it, and you shrugged, revealing how your father and brothers think you're no good for just because you're a woman, but in reality you succeed all of them in all fields, including academically and military strategies. But the world is patriarchal, so all you're good for is marriage apparently.
"Its a trap being a woman."
Dabi chuckles at that, nodding his head along that a princess would complain of feeling trapped, but he got what you said.
"Everyone is trapped in their own ways, princess. Even me."
The two of you soon began to continue your journey again, and with your caravan now dead, it was just the two of you, chatting more. And even though Dabi had seen your face, he still kept his distance, still respected your boundaries, something none of your admirers ever did.
Dabi asks why you're marrying his father, because he knows you could've easily ran away.
"I plan to be a queen who can make better reforms and changes to the world. What better way than to start with the strongest ruler by my side?" You explain, telling him that you know Enji only wants you because he wants strong children. And you only want his support. It's a mutually beneficial marriage.
Along the way, Dabi had already fallen for you. And you won't admit it, but you were slowly staring to fall for him too. He wasn't like the other men. He didn't feel the need to put you down, laugh at your ideas to "change the world", didn't make you feel stupid or insecure. And he didn't put his hands on you either, most men would've taken the opportunity of being alone in the desert and to do unspeakable things to a woman. He didn't. And you can't explain it, but there's just something about him, something otherworldly that makes you feel bonded with him.
He makes you feel safe, not just from physical threats, but from your own doubts and insecurities too, without you ever having to voice them out.
The final night you two were together, setting camp at the edge of the desert, he told you that he will always support you. He will always protect you, he will always have your back, no matter what.
"Why are you talking like this is goodbye? Won't you still be my royal Knight, after I marry the king?" You ask.
Dabi smiled sadly, looking at the fire he'd made. "I'll always be yours."
"But?"
"After I bring you to the kingdom, my duty here will be done. I will be sent again to conquer more land for the king."
You looked down at your hands, tears brimming your eyes. "So, this is goodbye then." You sniffled, and Dabi could feel someone squeezing your heart when he saw a tear fall out of your eyes.
Oh how he wished to wipe it away, wash away all your sorrows.
You wiped your own tear away, composing yourself quickly. "Well, then I must thank you. For protecting me, for fulfilling your duty, for teaching me things, for everything. Truly, there must be no better man than you."
Dabi grinned. "My pleasure."
Soon, you two fell asleep. Well, you fell asleep. Dabi pretended to fall asleep, but he stayed awake because he wanted to keep looking at you. He wanted to savour every moment, every second he had with you before tomorrow.
At some point, in your sleep, without realising, you had dropped your head in his lap, perhaps to get closer to the fire. Dabi didn't wake you, for if he did, you would've been mortified.
While he was resisting the urge to pat your head, a scorpion came near you two, specifically near Dabi's bare feet. The scorpion and Dabi had a brief staring contest, and as if challenged, it stung him.
Dabi only bit his lip, but he didn't dare move a muscle. How could he, when it would risk waking you up?
Fortunately, the scorpion went away after that. And soon morning came and youvtwo finally reached his kingdom.
Taking you inside the castle, towards his father's court, Dabi gave you all the tips that wouldn't set off Enji and would actually have his favour.
You nodded, and as the two of you stood outside the doors, Dabi reminded you-
"If you ever need me, just call my name. I'll be there."
You wondered how would he know you'd called when he would be miles away, but you suppose he could have his people here to report to him.
You two entered the court and Enjibsat on his throne, looking menacing as ever. Bowing, Enji praised his son for a job well done before excusing him.
Dabi gave you one last glance before leaving the court, and Enji beckoned you forward. You came near him, head still bowing.
"Take off your veil." He ordered.
You looked up at him, confused. You must've heard him wrong. How could you reveal yourself infront of his court like that?
"Pardon?"
"Take. Off. Your. Veil." He repeated.
"Your Majesty, your court is watching-" but you were cut off with a slap to your face that made you fell.
You looked at him in shock, holding your cheek but then Enji pulled you up by your throat and ripped off your veil, earning gasps from everyone.
"If I tell you to do something, you do it. If I tell you to take your veil off, you take it off. If I tell you to strip in front of my court, you fucking do it!" He shook you hard as you struggeld to free your throat from his grip. He pulled you closer, grabbing your cheeks painfully. "Now, let's see if you've learned your lesson." He threw you down again, your tears were falling freely now as you wondered if you had cursed yourself by agreeing to marry this monster.
"Now, strip." Enji commanded from above, glaring at you.
You began hyperventilating, trying to think of a way out of this situation. You looked around you to see if anyone would come to your aid, but the court, all those old men were looking at you in anticipation, as if you're a piece of meat.
Is this.. is this your end?
As Enji stomped towards you, your heart dropped and you screamed instinctively.
"DABI!!!!"
Enji raised his hand to strike you, but instead of a slap, blood had splattered on your face.
You looked down as you heard a thud, and there it was in front of you-
Enji's head.
Your eyes looked back up and you saw Enji's headless body that fell to the side, revealing Dabi behind him holding his bloody sword, face full of rage, eyes full of insanity.
Locking eyes with you, the insanity in his eyes was replaced with... concern.
"Are you okay?" He asked in the softest voice possible. He sheathed his sword, walking towards you. He bent on his knees to be on your level. "Did I scare you? I'm sorry. Hey, hey, no need to look at the head. He can't hurt you anymore. No one can." He said raising his hand to cup your cheek, but he hesitated. You wouldn't be comfortable-
You threw your hands around him, diving your head into his chest as you sobbed. Dabi only chuckled before gathering you in his arms, patting your head and cooing soft nothings, as if hadn't just beheaded the strongest ruler in the world.
"Shh, its alright. Everything will be okay. I'm here now, aren't I?" He cooed as you began carrying you out of the room but not before blowing a whistle as hundreds of assasins and knights broke into the court, killing and maiming Enji's court.
As Dabi walked towards his room, making sure to hide your face well because he doesn't want to kill some poor servant just because he saw your face like he's killing the court, he wondered what would have happened if you hadn't called for him.
Surely, he wouldn't have planned the coup, be wouldn't have had killed Enji, and he certainly wouldn't have had you in his arms.
But for you, he would burn the whole world down if you wish it. He'd burn himself if it pleases you.
For you, a thousand times over.

"Heartfire"
___________________
The alarm drag you out of your dream, lately, dreams were the only place where you see yourself smiling. A big arm go across your side of the bed and turn off the alarm.
You heard the big man growl as he start getting closer to you. You keep your eyes close, desperately trying to go back to those sweet dreams of yours, keeping you away from this obscure and sick reality. But nothing can keep you away from him, This it´s was your nightmare.
His two longs arms start dragging you to his side of the bed.
“Good morning, my little flame” His strong arms squeeze you like you were a toy on a boys grip, while you detect resement on his voice.
You are not surprised for all the resement on his voice, you know you deserved. After all, you deep wounded Enji Todoroki heart. But, on his own twisted way, he needs you, he crave for you, he crave for your smell and your voice. Everything on you it's for him, and only him, you are his reward. For all the sufering that you caused.
He get so close to you that you can hear his heartbeat. A shiver it’s sent down your spine making the shackles on your legs feel more cold than before.
“Come on, sweetheart” He says on a tired and monotonous tone “It’s time for breakfeast”
“I’m sorry...” You Whisper.
Endeavors face get darker all sudden, but then got to his usual angry expression.
"I already told you... never say that again" Enji says as he gets dressed "Don't ruin this day... please, haven't you done enough damage already?”
You nod silently.
“Good girl, now get dress and prepare breakfeast, i’m starving”
Enji opened the door to go down to the first floor, but stopped when he heard the sound of your shackles. He sighed as he searched his pants pockets, finally finding what he was looking for, a single silver key. He opened your shackles, letting your poor strangled leg breathe. You sighed as you felt your injured leg free.
Enji got very close to your face, his expression empty of all reason and emotion. It was his usual usual behavior whenever he needed to remove your shackles.
“Don't try anything fun… Don't ruin this day. Did you understand?"
"Yes, Enji... I understand you"
He nodded at your answer and desperately kissed your lips for at least seven seconds, taking almost all of your breath away.
"I'll be waiting for you"

(and endeavor really wants to know how to make shoto like him).
So when Shoto and reader get there its a nice greeting with everyone and through out the dinner and rest of the time they are there Reader is constantly praising Shoto, Cupping his cheeks, tracing his scar in an affectionate way, ruffling his hair, So many words of affirmation, Just all in all praising him and making him feel special. And Every time Shoto just Lights UP.
And on top of that reader is so polite and gets along with absolutely everyone.

⭐️pairing: Shoto Todoroki x F!Reader
⭐️CW: pure tooth rotting fluff
⭐️Type and A/N: placed in the summertime, preexisting relationship, despite my hate for enji I made him tolerable if the dress isn't your style feel free to change it! had Summer Nights from Grease playing in my head while I wrote this, used a french nickname for sho because I live in a world where sho dates someone who knows another language, I've given the reader a quirk as well
Mon chéri- My darling
Tumblr media
As the car pulls to a stop outside of the Todoroki household, you feel your heartbeat quicken. Shoto steps out of the car and you watch as he walks around to open the door for you, offering his hand out you gratefully take it to exit the car. "Are you sure you're okay with this my love?" He asks while you smooth out your dress, "Mon chéri, I told you its okay, we've been together a while I should meet them" You look up at him with a soft smile. You two have been together for almost a year and have dodged meeting them for Shoto's anxiety and your own. His father, although forgiven was still tactical about Shoto as a hero, worried he wouldn't approve as the quirk you have isn't quite a match for his quirk. He had pestered Shoto about it a few times after finding out about the girlfriend Shoto had acquired.
After a few seconds, you and Shoto make your way to the door, his hand intertwined with yours, he knocks. Rei opens the door "Shoto!" she smiles, giving him a small hug "and you must be Miss. Y/n, I'm Shotos mother Rei. So nice to meet you" she beams giving you a small bow that you return. Shoto guides you into the house, both of you slipping off your shoes before making your way to the living room where Enji and Natsou sit on the couch, with backs toward you watching a sports event. Shoto clears his throat to get their attention, the loose grip you had on his hand tightens as Natsou leans his head back and Enji turns.
"Whoa, Shoto! you actually brought her! i was starting to think you'd, made her up" Natsou laughs standing up from the couch. "I'm Natsuo" Natsou ruffled Shoto's hair "This guy's big brother" you giggle and give a small bow "Y/N L/N, but please call me Y/N" Shoto grunts moving his head away from his older sibling, his eyes meet yours and fill with adoration as you reach up and fix his now erratic locks. With a small bow of the head while still fixing Shotos hair "Nice to meet you Endeavor."
"Enji, you may call me Enji while you are here" Enji Stands to bow Shotos eyes flick to him, the solemn expression returning to his face "If you'd like to sit we are watching the sports festival for this year, Rei and Fyumi are finishing up lunch." Enji sits back down "you can meet Fyumi later lets let them finish" Shoto softly says as he guides you to the couch with Natsou taking a seat in the chair next to Enji. Shoto takes your hand once again in his, rubbing soft circles into your knuckles to help ease your anxiety. the awkward silence making the air feel thick enough to cut through is present for about five minutes before Enji breaks it "So, Y/N," you turn your head in Enjis direction with a curious look, ready to answer any questions thrown at you "since Shoto refuses to tell me, I must ask what is your quirk?" heat rises to your cheeks turning them a Small shade of pink. "oh uhm-" is all you can get out before Shoto speaks up "father, didn't mom tell you to be nice?" the slightly annoyed tone in his voice tells you Shoto is on edge with his anxiety as well. "Sho, Mon chéri it's okay I can tell him" You softly smile at Enji "My quirk is called Green House, When I activate my quirk I can make plants grow, depending on how strong of emotion I put forth will affect the Plants strength and my ability to use them" you stick your hand out and sprout a lotus flower to fill your palm "I can grow them out of my skin or in a medium area of land around me, i just have to get plenty of sun and water to make them grow"
As you are explaining the extent of your quirk to Enji, Natsou's eyes flick from the TV to Shoto. Shoto's eyes have softened from his usual solemn expression, a smile tugging on his mouth as he looks at you with what can be described as pure love. "and what do you do with this quirk? If you're a hero I haven't heard about you." Enji gruffed out "oh well, I run a flower shop!" you return with the pink in your cheeks deepening Enji lets out a 'hm' before Rei enters the room snapping everyone's attention "Lunch is ready and on the table"
Shoto pulls out a chair for you to sit down before sitting himself down beside you, the table set with plates of Karaage. Fyumi sits across from you "Oh you must be Y/N, Shoto has told me all about you when we have our lunches!" Fyumi smiles, pushing her glasses up the bridge of her nose "Shoto talks about you a lot as well Fyumi, its nice to meet you" you bow your head slightly as everyone begins to eat their lunch, Rei and Fyumi asks you questions as to what you do for a living, what school you went to, how you and Shoto met. with each answer, your anxiety lessens. Looking over at Shoto beside you as you tell the story of how you met when Shoto used your flower shop as a hideout from crazed fans and paparazzi, Fyumi and Rei witness the same look Natsuo did when you had been talking about your quirk, and how Shoto seems to only fall deeper in love when you take your napkin to wipe the sauce from the corner of his mouth.
