i'm still processing everything and my mind is both all over the place and hyperfixated on that final scene.

but.

oliver said there have been crumbs throughout the show for years

oliver said this is how he has always seen buck

oliver said the fans weren't crazy for clocking buck as queer, because he himself saw it too

oliver said he had to pull back from fan interaction on social media because he wanted to validate our feelings so much but couldn't because those as*holes over at fox were holding him back

oliver said he planned on playing buck differently this season, leaning more towards bi buck and this was WITHOUT knowing what tim had planned

yknow, given Nico’s old special interest in pirates, my new headcanon is that his initial plan after impulsively running away in TTC and becoming a rogue was that he decided he was just gonna become a pirate. cause he was 10 and just learned his other special interest (Mythology/Mythomagic, specifically Greco-Roman mythology) is real so it’s probably a logical leap for him to assume pirates like that are still a thing.

Which immediately makes a significantly more hilarious dynamic between him and Minos because suddenly it turns into Minos trying to manipulate this son of Hades into helping revive him but to do so he has to wrangle this 11 year old into stopping trying to run off and become a pirate, and instead convince him to live in some lame underground tunnel system. Just imagine for the first few months of Nico living on his own/training with Minos, every couple of days Nico goes “-AND NOW I WILL BECOME A PIRATE” and Minos has to steer him back into the Labyrinth.

Okay but just go with me yall. Think about what if. What if going into season 5, in addition to the Eddie ptsd arc, it was clear we were heading towards Buddie canon.

Eddie still having his breakdown. Buck still right there, breaking down doors. They both know there is something there between them but they can’t find the words yet. Eddie too scared and still needing to face his ptsd head on. Buck scared of what this could mean for their friendship.

We would see Buck try and process his feelings for his best friend. Process almost losing him. We still would see Eddie slowly begin to heal in 5B, not just for Chris but for himself. And what if…..that scene of them in Eddie’s room in 5x18 was the start of something new for them; after the hell they had been through the past year……they made it to that moment. Together.
